"September break"

Lovely hotel in a perfect location for being central to the metro and train station and main shopping district. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, very clean - stayed 4nights and enjoyed seeing Nice and the coastal resorts.

Best Western Plus Hotel La Marina
"Last hotel on our Great Rail Journeys holiday"
tiger077, 08 Octobre 2026

Last hotel of our Great Rail Journeys holiday. Nice hotel, nice room, all you needed really, but no central light so very dark, makes packing and unpacking difficult once the natural daylight has gone. Food in the evening was very good and the breakfast was also good. Pleasant staff. Only complaint is it was a long way from the town centre but ideal if you don't need to go further than the Marina.

Best Western Plus Hotel La Joliette
"Brilliant!"
eamf2017, 07 Octobre 2026

We were a bit worried when we saw some of the poor reviews from August but we have just had an excellent 5 night stay here. The location is ideal for accessing main visiting points in Marseille. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was kept spotless throughout our stay and clean towels provided each time you placed used ones on the floor. The rooms are compact but that's to be expected in this part of the city. We stayed in a deluxe double room which I assume is slightly larger and well worth the extra if staying more than a night or two. Although compact the layout was such that it did not feel cramped. We had a walk-in shower. The beds were really comfy. We asked for a twin bed which was supplied without a problem. Breakfast was delicious. You could eat as much as you wanted from a wide ranging buffet. It had everything - fresh and dried fruit. croissants, pancakes, preserves, cooked options, meat, cheese ... If you couldn't find something to suit here you just don't like food! My husband used the pool which was small but fine for an end of day swim. If our stay is the norm at this hotel I'd recommend it 100%. Thanks to all the staff.

"This was a distinctly average experience."
515Glens, 07 Octobre 2026

This was a distinctly average experience. The room was very disappointing with the 'bath' room only able to hold a shower and handbasin and the separate toilet was too small to allow it to be used comfortably. Breakfast was fine but when we had dinner on the second night of our stay the food was tepid at best and they forgot the wine - it was brought when we reminded them - and service was so slow we left without waiting for dessert or coffee. We ate elsewhere on the first night but when we asked reception to get us a taxi to the restaurant the person on duty didn't know how to do it and needed to contact a colleague - we ended up trying to contact a taxi ourselves but failed and opted to walk which was okay for us but it was about 1km uphill so not everyone would have been able to do it.

"A lovely hotel in a beautiful courtyard, great facilities."
MichellABurton, 06 Octobre 2026

Our stay at this quaint hotel was faultless. It is located in a magical courtyard where we enjoyed drinks. Staff were really helpful. Safe, covered parking was provided for a small fee. An excellent breakfast was available, again for a small fee. The room contained tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge / stocked mini bar. The bedroom furniture was slightly dated (or may just have been designed to be in keeping with the rustic building), but the bathroom had clearly been recently renovated and was lovely and spotlessly clean. A range of high end (L'Occitane, local) products were provided for guest use including hand gel, hand lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The hotel had a pool for guest use which I sadly didn't use (due to our itinerary). Following checkout we were able to leave our car in the secure parking lot until 2pm, enabling us to visit the stunning Roman theatre, which was just a short walk from the hotel. A faultless stay. Thank you.

Best Western Plus Hotel Brice Garden
"Disappointing"
Nikita P, 06 Octobre 2026

I hate to say it but this hotel is most definitely not a 4 star hotel. Firstly the smell that you are greeted with is overpowering and unpleasant. It's very dated and needs a thorough clean. Unfortunately when we got shown our room things did not get better. The room was dated, dark and dingy, the furniture had stains on , the carpet if that's what you can call it had stains everywhere too, the room smelt musty. The sheets didn't feel fresh, and the beds had hairs on! Paying 279 for one night at this hotel felt unfair and completely over priced. Good point… the garden was the best bit! After reading all reviews I don't feel like we stayed at the same place! Our overall view is that our stay at this hotel was disappointing you don't expect to pay that and stay in a DIRTY room

"Great location, service and next to the tram stop."
OceanRoe, 06 Octobre 2026

Superb location and only a very short walk to the tram station. Buy a card & add trips to it at €1.70 each way -to the airport even.Durandy is the stop. Fantastic breakfast available , lots of choice on offer. You can choose to eat in our outdoors. Great reception staff who were very helpful and knowledgeable . We jumped on the number 15 bus to Villefranche sur mer, again €1.70 each way and it was so worth it. Our room was fairly small but more than acceptable. No noise from the road, clean and well lit. Decent shower & bathroom. I have only good things to share about this hotel and I'm notoriously fussy. They have a wellness centre with a shower room Full your water bottle here too and save plastic. Top marks , thank you team. 5⭐️

Best Western Hotel Mediterranee Menton
"A very comfortable stay"
VivIamblessed, 06 Octobre 2026

We had a really lovely stay here and were very pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and well maintained the hotel is. Our sea view room was wonderful… waking up every morning to that beautiful view of the Mediterranean was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The room was very clean, comfortable and peaceful, and we also loved the little touch of having Nuxe toiletries in the bathroom. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location worked really well for us too. It's around a 20 to 25 minute walk from the main centre of Menton, which we actually preferred. You're away from the busiest and noisier part of town, yet still close enough to walk into the centre whenever you want. The walk along the seafront is also very pleasant. The only area I feel could be improved is housekeeping staffing. The housekeepers themselves work very hard, but they seemed genuinely overwhelmed at times. I think the hotel would benefit from having a few more people on the housekeeping team, especially during busy periods. This is more a management issue than a criticism of the housekeepers, who were doing their best and are always helpful. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in Menton. Clean rooms, friendly staff, beautiful sea views, a peaceful location and good amenities. We would happily stay here again.

"Comfortable stay by the canal"
MatkustajaNizza, 06 Octobre 2026

We stayed in a Prestige Room with a terrace, which was quite spacious. The terrace is relatively private, although I'm not sure I would have spent much time there as it is next to the restaurant and quite close to the swimming pool. The parking service was very good and felt safe. The swimming pool is a good size and there is also an outdoor shower. One small disappointment for me was that the pool only opens at 10:00. I prefer to swim early in the morning, so an earlier opening time would have been appreciated. Breakfast was OK, with a better selection earlier in the morning than around 9:30. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The restaurant was not empty either, which can sometimes be the case with hotel restaurants — there were quite a few other guests dining there. The room was clean and quiet, with daily housekeeping, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, everything worked well and there were no unpleasant surprises. The interior is fairly standard and nothing particularly memorable, but the hotel offers a comfortable and reliable stay in a convenient location by the canal. Overall, a good choice if you are looking for a comfortable hotel with parking, a pool and an on-site restaurant.
