Compliance status

bestwestern.fr is not compliant with the General Framework for Improving Accessibility (RGAA), version 4.1, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Test results

The compliance audit carried out by Ethic First shows that 33.33% of the RGAA version 4.1 criteria are met.

Inaccessible content

Non-compliances

  • Some information-bearing images, such as certain logos, have no text alternative;
  • Some decorative images are not correctly ignored by assistive technologies;
  • Some frames (Sign up for our special offers, Registration, Booking details, for example) have no title;
  • Some frames have an irrelevant title, such as the security check frame when logging in, "reCaptcha protection";
  • Some information is conveyed by colour alone, such as in some button lists where the selected state is indicated only by colour;
  • Some text has insufficient contrast with its background;
  • Some interface components (form field borders, submit button, toggle button) have insufficient contrast with their background;
  • Some links are not sufficiently explicit because they are in English;
  • Some links have no label;
  • Some interface components are not compatible with assistive technologies or accessible by keyboard, such as the breadcrumb trail, accordions, date pickers, modal windows, the "Sort by" menu, carousels, the show/hide password feature, tabs, the favourites, share, create list and select list buttons, and tooltips;
  • Some toggle controls, such as "I'm signing up" on the "My offers" page, trigger an unexpected change of context;
  • Tags without semantic meaning are used to structure passages of text;
  • Content is not always properly structured using headings;
  • The site lacks structural markup for the document;
  • Some successive elements, such as buttons and links, are not structured as a list;
  • Obsolete tags are used for formatting purposes;
  • Visible content carrying information is no longer present when style sheets are disabled;
  • Content is no longer understandable when style sheets are disabled;
  • Background colour and font CSS declarations are not present;
  • Focus on interactive elements is not always visible;
  • When content read horizontally is displayed at a width of 320px, some content is truncated;
  • After redefining spacing properties, some content becomes unreadable or truncated;
  • Additional content, such as date choices appearing on hover or focus of a component, cannot be controlled by the user;
  • Some form fields have no label;
  • Labels are not attached to their field;
  • Fields of the same type (checkboxes, radio buttons) are not grouped together;
  • Some form buttons have no label;
  • Input validation is not accessible because error messages are not linked to their respective fields. The presence of an asterisk indicating a required field is not always explained;
  • Fields such as Last Name, First Name, Address, Email etc. lack input purpose attributes to facilitate autofill;
  • Content grouping areas present on several pages cannot all be reached or bypassed;
  • There is no skip link or quick access to the main content area;
  • Tab order is not always consistent, for example within modal windows;
  • Navigation contains keyboard traps when choosing booking dates;
  • Additional content (tooltips) appearing on hover, focus or activation of an interface component cannot be reached by keyboard;
  • The modal window "You don't have time to book now" sometimes opens without any action by the user;
