Description

On the heights of Bormes-les-Mimosas, the Eden Rose Grand Hotel, BW Premier Collection, Bormes-Les-Mimosas, France, makes an ideal base for a holiday in the Var, set in a completely renovated century-old building whose robust stone is softened by a delicate, refined decor. Perched on the hillside close to Hyeres, the hotel enjoys a dream position with a view of the sea and the whole town spread below, a calm and elegant retreat above the coast. The sea light fills the rooms through the day. Bormes-les-Mimosas climbs in tiers of flower-hung lanes to a ruined castle above the Mediterranean, a village famous for the mimosa that scents it in winter, with the beaches and marina of Le Lavandou, the cork-oak hills of the Massif des Maures, and the boats to the wild island of Port-Cros close by. In February the golden mimosa blossom lights up the whole hillside above the bay.

"EXCELLENT Stay - Philippe and Mathieu the managers are TOP!"
Paul K, 29 Juin 2026

An unforgettable luxury stay — the staff makes it The Eden Rose Grand Hôtel is everything you'd hope for from a luxury property: stunning views, beautiful surroundings, and an atmosphere that makes you never want to leave. But what truly set our stay apart was the people. Philippe-Angel, the head manager, is exceptional. Professional, charismatic, and endlessly attentive to detail, he has a gift for making every guest feel like the most important person in the room. No matter the situation, he handled it with calm and grace — the kind of effortless hospitality you rarely encounter. We're also grateful to Mathieu Rocher, who coordinated the details of our wedding welcome party flawlessly. His care and organization took the stress out of a special occasion and let us simply enjoy it. What stood out most was that this level of service wasn't limited to the managers — the entire staff was warm, kind, and genuinely service-oriented. You could feel the culture had been set from the top down, with Philippe and Mathieu leading by example. If you're looking for luxury with a view, we couldn't recommend the Eden Rose more highly. The setting is gorgeous — but it's the staff who truly make the stay. Thank you Philippe-Angel and Mathieu. We love the Eden Rose Grand Hôtel in Bormes-Les-Mimosas. We will be back!

"Lipstick on a pig"
W4742NRpaul, 12 Juin 2026

We discovered small spiders all over the room (bed, carpet, walls, curtains) after our first night. Front desk was kind to offer a suite upgrade on the top floor for the following two nights, however, the issue was the same there as well. This is likely a property issue and not contained to any one individual room. Staying overnight was simply no longer an option, as would be for most others who prefer to sleep soundly without worries of critters all over the bed. Unfortunately the onsite manager had no decision making powers and we were left at the mercy of the group's offsite associate revenue manager, who downplayed the situation (consistently referring to “one small spider” in the room) and ultimately insisted a 100% refund for the two remaining nights would not be an option, but rather only 50% refund for night #2 and 100% for night #3 would be appropriate as the room was “used” until late afternoon on the second day. In numbers terms, the revenue manager was protecting 110€ of otherwise lost income. For certainty, the room was not used – our bags were merely placed there by hotel staff until we arrived back in the afternoon, at which point it was obvious the solution offered was only superficial. For a hotel of this stature and size to argue about a measly sum of 110€ is pathetic. Their arguments for insects, bugs, etc. to be found in the rooms due to the hotel's “natural mountain setting, surrounded woods and green spaces” is weak. Yes, the hotel is situated wonderfully at the top of Bormes-les-Mimosas, surrounded by the regions wonderful foliage and overlooking the village/sea, but it is a far cry from a camp ground. A four-star hotel of this prestige should do better to look after its guests, not downplay legitimate concerns, and avoid squeezing cents at the cost of euros. A message to guests in the near term, the above warning is not reserved for those suffering arachnophobia, but rather anyone who prefers sound sleep knowing their bed/hotel room is not a playing field for spiders. A message to Hotels Mona Collection (hotel operator), kindly consider if your associate revenue manager was wise in arguing a net 110€ charge on this matter. We were mindful to address the matter discreetly, away from other guests in the lobby at the time. The internet has a far larger reach.

"Accessible hotel, room and bathroom for manual wheelchair users"
Suzette S, 14 Mai 2026

Staying at the Eden Rose Grand Hotel (Bormes-les-Mimosas) for a week was a highlight of our month-long visit to Provence France in February-March 2026. We stayed in three hotels along the Route du Mimosa to join in the mimosa festivities in late winter. We stayed in a lovely room overlooking stone pines and terracotta roofs in this historic hotel that was perfect for my husband who needs accessible accommodation. The bathroom was well-designed and accommodated his manual wheelchair and commode (on wheels) well. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to the Director, Philippe Gawron who greeted us and made us feel very special with his hand-written messages on our mirror and the hotel stationary; Catherine who was so welcoming and efficient at breakfast in the restaurant, and our favourite philosopher, Joseph behind the bar, we had a very enjoyable stay. The restaurant decor in particular is a delight too. We can't wait to return.

"Expansive sea view"
Victoria J, 23 Septembre 2025

I would give this 5 stars if the rates had not been jacked up due to a wedding that weekend. So the cost/value was not what I had hoped. We had a room on the ground floor (reception level), which was not the greatest view. However, we didn't spend time in our room, and views can be found from the pool deck and the restaurant patio. Room was nice - compact and modern. Robes and pool towels provided. Water pressure in the shower was fabulous. Good firm pillows. Breakfast was excellent, with a serene setting on the patio overlooking the sea. Five-minutes to town center. We used this as a base to visit Tourtours, Contignac, and Les Arcs one day, and then St Tropez, Ramatuelle, and Gassin the next. Would also make a good stop-off if you're traveling from Marseille to Nice.

Owner Response, 23 Septembre 2025

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We're delighted that you enjoyed the sea-facing setting, the comfort of your room, and our breakfast on the patio overlooking the water. It's also a pleasure to know that our location served as a convenient base for exploring the surrounding villages and coastal towns. We understand your remarks regarding the rate adjustment during the wedding weekend and appreciate your understanding. Your comments help us improve the experience we provide to all our guests. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for an even more satisfying stay. Warm regards, The Eden Rose Team

This hotel was a hidden gem!! They celebrated our honeymoon and placed items in the room for us, as well as an amazing view. We will be coming back every year! We love it here. Also, in the best and cutest town ever.

"Beautiful hotel with a few areas for improvement "
Judy R, 10 Juillet 2025

A beautiful hotel with a wonderful vista. Warm welcome and room was lovely. Pool was great though narrow. It again with lovely views. Breakfast was fine ( self service apart from cooking of eggs) sitting on a terrace. We were disappointed with a few things: cost of parking on the road leading up to the hotel Very expensive and too gourmet dinner menu so we ate in the local village just a walk away Being such an exquisite hotel you would think it would be adults only. So having children in the pool was a surprise. It was tricky to get away from their noise and find shade on the terrace- more parasols would be very beneficial. I was disappointed that the garden by the terrace needed a lot of care as there was loads of bindweed growing.

Owner Response, 10 Juillet 2025

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're delighted to read that you appreciated the warm welcome, your comfortable room, and the stunning views from both the pool and the terrace. We also take good note of your constructive remarks regarding the parking, dinner options, and outdoor areas. Your observations about the garden and terrace shade are especially helpful and will be carefully reviewed with our team. We truly value your comments as they help us continue improving the guest experience, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again to L'Eden Rose for an even more serene and enjoyable stay.

"DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL"
GruneLagune, 13 Octobre 2024

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL - Beautiful Online, But a 2-Star Reality – NEVER AGAIN! My family and I stayed at Eden Rose Grand Hôtel, Bormes-les-Mimosas, from August 6–11, 2024, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel looks gorgeous on its website, but in reality, it's more like a 2-star establishment. As a single parent with two children, I booked a family room so we could all stay together, but due to a booking error by the hotel staff, we were split into two different rooms. This caused me so much stress as my children were in a separate room in a foreign country. We were moved three times during our 5-night stay, which made the whole experience even more stressful and unenjoyable. When I raised my concerns with the management, they said the hotel was fully booked and couldn't accommodate us in one room. To make things worse, my daughter's room smelled like stool. After bringing this to the staff's attention, we were moved again, and on the last night, we ended up in a top-floor room (I believe it was room 502), where the air conditioning didn't work properly, and the mattresses were hard as rocks, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The pool, which we had looked forward to, was too warm to enjoy because of the hot weather, adding to our disappointment. For the 5-night stay, we paid $3,520.80. Management promised a €1,400 refund due to the issues, but despite sending multiple emails, I still haven't received it. The only positive aspect was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, who were top-notch. However, this couldn't make up for the fact that this hotel is truly subpar and belongs in a 2-star category. We will never book here again.

"Could not ask for a better place!"
Laurence M, 02 Octobre 2024

Great, great establishment with beautiful, quiet, clean, contemporary rooms and bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful breakfast and dinner, located just a short walk from a lively neighborhood. Could not ask for a better place! Loved it!

"Gorgeous hotel, some issues with staff and irritating flaws."
ianmM241SV, 22 Septembre 2024

A beautiful hotel in a stunning position above the village. Not high-end expensive, but some extras that seemed expensive: Parking €25 per day. (Disabled spaces and electric charge points closest to the hotel. Free parking several minutes away but an uphill walk) Breakfast €25 (there's no real alternatives in the village within walking distance.) The rooms and public areas are immaculate, other than a scruffy staff area, unfortunately below our room. Our room was large and well appointed, but had to request coffee, twice, for the Nespresso machine. Teas were all herbal, no breakfast teas. There are views from the terrace, rooms and pool area, over the village and as far as the sea and islands, absolutely beautiful. The infinity pool is beautiful, quite cold in September, but swimmable. Service at the poolside was excellent; but the food was terrible and overpriced. Iceberg lettuce was the only salad leaf in two tasteless miserable salads. Another day we were served burned bagels with tasteless unseasoned fillings and iceberg dumped on the side. It definitely wasn't a chef who prepared these…. we laughed, but wish we'd have sent the offerings back. All of the young staff were professional, friendly and helpful. One older member of staff alone spoiled our stay, at check in. Not a single smile. Obstructive and overtly unfriendly. No poolside towel tickets provided (we didn't know this was an issue until it came to using the pool.) Flatly refused to give information about alternative parking other than the hotel's parking. He didn't explain fully that €500 would be taken from my bank account as security for damages: still to be refunded. We're used to hotels taking card details for security and extras, not actually taking the money. And from a visa/current account, wouldn't accept Amex. My partner speaks fluent French, but there was no attempt to speak English when something needed clarification. We don't expect staff to speak English, but when a hotel brands itself as luxury, we do expect conversations to be multilingual when required. This all sounds petty, but…. he was unbelievably rude in manner. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, but it wasn't as good as we expected. Other guest reviews are almost unanimously positive.
