Sheltered from the legendaries rampart of Avignon, Hotel de Cambis, BW Premier Collection is from far the ideal place to discover 'la cité des Papes.' It was created as a testimony for the unique identity of this area. As soon as the doors are crossed, you will be emerged in an artistic concept shaped around wine, its colors, feelings and sensations.
"This was a large, clean room in a convenient location with lighting that needs improvement."
Joseph S, 10 Novembre 2025
This was a large, clean room in a convenient location. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station and also a reasonable walk to the Palace of the Popes. Younger patrons might wish the part of Avignon that has a more active night life, but is further from the train station. The lighting in our room was inadequate for reading and the bathroom lighting was a problem as well. The shower pressure and temperature were above average for our stays in France. Ask for a room away from the main street if you do not wish to be awakened by the city street cleaning machines at 6:30 am.
"Great location and dog friendly"

A pretty hotel in the heart of Avignon. The staff were very helpful in particular Maxine. The room was well appointed although very compact, and a fridge would've been useful. Great location with parking available within walking distance. Recommend recommended.
"Good small central boutique hotel"
Jimmy M, 24 Septembre 2025
Really hard to beat this hotel as a city centre package. Small and modernised in a quality way throughout rooms, breakfast and study room area. Breakfast was somewhat limited but good, I would have appreciated more effort around cereals, muesli more fruit etc. this might be a British perspective the hotel seems to have an American bent. The only negative is a bar opposite the road which might impact some rooms especially Saturday night. It was fine for us. I look forward to returning.
"In love with this hotel"
Christensen M, 22 Septembre 2025
A fabulous hotel with amazing features! I was stunned by how central it is and the reception helped with everything I needed during my stay. They made reservations for me and guided me to delicious restaurants. I was able to have glasses of wine outside on the terrasse in front of the bar and enjoy another glass inside when it got chilly. The beds arr so comfortable and I was really happy about how clean the room was. Thankyou to the entire team of People working to make my experience so memorable!
"Great experience at De Cambis"
Diane R, 19 Septembre 2025
Great experience at this perfectly situated location. Inside the walls of Avignon but walkable to the train and bus station with your luggage.Steps from beautiful squares and cafes with ample dining choices. The staff was lovely and helpful, and the room was one of the largest and nicest of the 5 hotels we stayed at on this trip. Bathroom had the toilet area in a separate compartment and the shower/sink area was huge with lots of counter space and shelving.

"Hotel told us they didn't have rooms despite reserving months in advance, stranded with toddler – no support from hotel"
katie s, 01 Juillet 2025
We arrived at Hôtel de Cambis after 12 hours of travel with our toddler—only to be told our confirmed reservation didn't exist. Despite booking months in advance and confirming by email with the front desk manager two weeks prior, the hotel had shifted our dates by a full month without informing us. We were left scrambling late at night during a heatwave with a tired toddler. The first hotel they sent us to was moldy and unsafe; the second didn't accept children. Cambis eventually offered us a room but insisted we check out at noon. Because they refused a late check-out, we had to manage an overheated toddler for hours until we could check in to a new hotel at 2:30 PM. No apology. No compensation. Best Western corporate has also refused to help. If your plans involve children or you actually want to stay at the hotel, I strongly recommend booking elsewhere. Definitely call in advance to confirm your reservations, and possibly multiple times.

"Value and charm in Avignon"
LongIslandDonna, 24 Juin 2025
The hotel is in a great location, very short walk to everything, including the bus station and local train station (not TGV). The room is very attractive and a nice size; the bathroom is big. We do wish there was more space for our clothes. The hotel has an elevator and a very picturesque and large spiral staircase. We had the breakfast once during our 5 night stay and it was terrific. The breads were freshly baked. There was a nice array of cheeses, meats cereal, eggs. We thought it was a good value if you like to eat a variety of items for breakfast. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The hotel was very reasonably priced. All in all, we highly recommend the hotel and will stay there again if we return to Avignon.
"4* hotel with no room fridges"
Sheila D, 22 Juin 2025
Location is on the main road between station and centre; good for access to station. For a 4* hotel, it was disappointing that the rooms did not have a fridge, so we frequently had to traipse up and down to reception for buckets of ice (staff obliged, no problem). Room backed onto breakfast room, so there was a little noise from there every morning.
"A well kept secret in Avignon"

"50 percent of the 4 nights had no electrical power"
carolinam594, 10 Juin 2025
We stayed at this centrally located and clean hotel for 4 nights but only 2 of the nights did we have electrical power. The power in the whole room went off by merely attempting to turn on the lights. When reported, the first night, they were able to fix it, but the second night, the desk clerk was not. So, at 11:30 pm we had to change rooms. The desk clerk upon checking us out offered a 15% discount and was very huffy when we asked for more. Nice hotel but the inconvenience was pretty awful.
"Stylish stay in Avignon"
sally_imbert, 09 Juin 2025
A stylish hotel with friendly, very professional staff. Very conveniently situated in the center of Avignon, we were a stone's throw away from the Palais des Papes and the old town. Beds were very comfortable and everything was spotless. We thoroughly recommend ! Thank you Angèle for looking after us so well.
"The location matters!"
Paul D, 27 Mai 2025
Friendly staff and great location. Across the street from the tourist office and a short walk to the train station. The location was perfect to walk to all of the major attractions. We initially had a room at the back of the building and we asked for a room change which they quickly provided. Our room (208)was located on the second floor facing the main thoroughfare and was quite pleasant and included a small balcony.
"Good location but ridiculously noisy"
dottiedog, 15 Avril 2025
The location is great. The staff are nice and the decision to choose this hotel had a lot to do with the elevator. The breakfast was good array and good quality. The negative - the air conditioning isn't on yet (April) as it's chilly at night. But the only way to cool the room was leave a window open at night which was impossible noise. I would not stay here again simply due to the horrible continual street noise. 4a and it's still noisy!
"May be the best option in Avignon for the price"
jorgegueri, 18 Mars 2025
Perfect location. Very nice staff and nice rooms. Quite large for french Standarts. We got an upgrade as the hotel was not full. Be smart: Don´t try to reach the hotel by car. Better move on Provence by bus or train. The city is walkable or bikeable.
