Hotels in Bretagne

The hotel is easy find and is pleasantly located on the coast road. It is popular with walkers. There is plenty of parking available in the hotel car park. Reception was very welcoming from all the staff. Cong from Vietnam was especially pleasant and very helpful. The hotel has a lift. We booked a room with a sea view. This turned out to be more of a distant estuary view! The room was very clean and spacious. Coffee-making facilities were provided and there was also a wine cooler. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a good sleep. The bathroom/shower was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The shower doors needed careful manoeuvring to remain shut! The restaurant was pleasant but with a limited choice on the dinner menu. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. We would stay again if in the area.

This city hotel right next to the station has fun and funky decor. What it doesn't have is any storage in its rooms so if you are doing more than just passing through with a backpack or tiny suitcase it is impossible to unpack. Also no-where to put an open suitcase as rooms on the small side. What it does have is a very good breakfast. We made a mistake in choosing Lorient as the base for our South Brittany holiday. We were looking for charm and character and Lorient does not have any of these qualities. We had booked for four nights but moved on to Port Louis (a genuinely charming place) after two. If you just need a bed to sleep in and a great breakfast in a fun room then this is for you. It was not for us.

Fabulous location - Spotless rooms nice linen - the staff were so lovely and very very helpful . The food in their restaurant was stunning - the steak was the best I have eaten for a long time.

A lovely hotel within 2-3 mins walking of the Cathedral. We had room 117 which was roomy and comfortable. No bath but we only prefer a shower.. Plenty of wardrobe space but limited hangers (8), shelving etc., safe, dressing table with mirror. Bathroom has a shaving mirror and a large mirror that can be illuminated. The coffee machine doubles as the kettle. Has air conditioning and wifi. Coffee pods provided but limited tea bags (no breakfast tea so take plenty). You have to ask for milk although we picked up a few milk pods when on the ferry. Breakfast had plenty to suit all tastes - with breads, meats, cheeses, eggs (scrambled or you can boil your own) , tea and coffee. Car parking was 9 euros in a semi-secure area. Lift to all floors. Quimpere is a lovely city to visit. We started in the cathedral then started walking around. We didn't go straight to the Tourist Information but were lucky to find the 'Maison du Pavilion' where we picked up the 'Trail of Discovery Quimpere' which has 3 Tour routes. Well worth following as it leads you to all the best sites. Plenty of places to eat for lunch or evening. A good location to visit Concarneau, Pont-L'Abbe, Concarneau, Pont-Aven etc.

A very friendly welcome and a bright room looking out over the ferry that runs between the mainland and the Ile de Brehat. I was fascinated by how many people were queuing to get out there and wished we had had more time to explore it ourselves. Service in the restaurant was rather lacking in charm, unlike in reception, and the meal was rather disappointing. I had fish with a lot of different purees which meant the tastes were a bit muddled (though the leek and ?mint one was delicious). My partner had an unappetising lamb shank, with quite a lot of fat and gelatinous meat, but on a nice bed of ratatouille. So not awful, but not nearly as good as we had expected either, and a shame given the hotel's lovely setting.

From our friendly welcome to a great nights sleep it's a hotel we'd use again. We paid €13 for garage parking but there was free street parking alongside the hotel. The hotel is tastefully decorated, in fact quite quirky. There wasn't a mini bar, but they'd left a complementary large bottle of water for us. There was a fridge for our use, a kettle with teas and coffee. A safe and hairdryer. Everything was spotlessly clean. The air-con was great and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we had a fantastic nights sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and gain with friendly staff who greeted us and said goodbye. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. We didn't get to use the facilities like jacuzzi or gym. Maybe next time!

Clean and comfortable. A good location. Good value for money. On site parking was much appreciated. Disappointed that their website talks about a chef and a restaurant, but they have neither (other than a breakfast rooom). The bar is just a few drinks in a cupboard and uninviting. The so-called room mini-bars are empty and, upon querying this with Reception, I was told they are for us to use for our own drinks.

Staff were friendly efficient and always available. Check-in and check out was easy. Room was clean Good location close to city Breakfast was delicious and a great variety of options I would highly recommend Best Western

The room was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Emily stood out in particular on account of her helpful and warm manner. Thanks to her suggestions we had an excellent time exploring Vannes. She has excellent people skills and is a first rate ambassador for Best Western.

The great location is really the only positive, how this is a 4 star hotel is beyond me. The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival, then we were shown to our room. The room was equivalent standard to a dated Ibis, fine if that's what you are expecting and paying for. The pool is small with a very poorly fitting and dirty liner. The jacuzzi was cold and overlooking the car park. The bar and restaurant were both closed - these were a key reason for booking this hotel. Breakfast was adequate, but as noted on other reviews the room and some of the crockery was dirty. Overall the hotel is very tired and nowhere near what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Do not recommend.
