Best Western Auray Hotel du Loch

What we liked: clean rooms, quiet location on the edge of town. What we didn't like: no elevator, no air conditioning. The elevator is broken, and there seem to be no plans to fix it. The stairway is narrow, and lugging heavy luggage up 2 floors is difficult. We were there on a warm day, and were disappointed to find no air conditioning. You can open the windows, but there is no screen and lots of mosquitos flying around. Our room was small, typical of an older hotel.

Decent sized room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was small, but had what I needed and the shower was adequate. Small gripe that the carpet was stained near the door and the noise from the lift was disturbing, although it does not seem to be the kind of place that attracts people who come in late so it did stop before midnight and I could sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice friendly very clean hotel 10 minute walk from the town. Good parking nice breakfast excellent price. Worth staying in and a visit to the busy market a must . Coffee shops and restaurants also very good. Would definitely recommend a visit to Auray

A very good expérience overall. An excellent & varied breakfast, a comfortable bed, good WiFi service, a very convenient system fir those who do not wish to have their towels changed every day...Great (and QUIET) surroundings also, which enabled me to WALK to Auray.

Warm welcome and it was good to have my diamond level rewards scheme recognised with a complimentary drink. The room was fairly small but the bed was comfortable. The room overlooked a wooded area next to the hotel. The outside seating area was quiet but needed to be swept. Plenty of free car parking and a pleasant 15-20 walk into the centre of Auray (up a hill!)

The hotel is situated outside the main centre of the town behind the gendarmes centre. It is in a modern building set in pleasant grounds and in a quiet part of the town. It is an easy 15 minute walk into the town. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The night we stayed it was very quiet with just a a few rooms in use. We were in room 112 which was at the front of the building and was fine with a good shower & comfy bed. The issue was the lift was quite small, holding 6 people and incredibly slow to work. The staff were friendly and helpful also speaking good English. We did not eat there apart from the ‘express breakfast' which was a orange juice, coffee, a pastry and bread. This was quite minimal but fine. It is a good place to stay in Auray.

This hotel is located within 15 min walk from the center and/or port in a bit secluded area, a bit over 2 km from the train station. The hotel staff is excellent, doing everything possible to help you and make you feel welcome. The hotel building is old and dated as are the rooms. Bathroom seemed renovated and was better than rest of the room. Small windows, so not much light, no air conditioning. The room was rather okay, but there was an unpleasant smell in the room and in the whole floor at some point of our two night stay. Two breakfast options available: express and buffet. Buffer was okay but not great, coffee machine created a bottleneck. Thanks to the greta staff, hopefully the building/rooms will be renovated.

Situated in a nice calm spot with a 15 minute walk into town. Plenty of parking. Friendly welcome and service. Nice clean room with all that we needed. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast.and good coffee. I would use again if visiting Auray.

Booked hotel because of previous reports. It is situated in a quiet part of the town with good car parking facilities and ramp access for those with mobility problems. It also has rooms 16 and 17 on the ground floor. We found room 17 to be clean comfortable and provide a good nights sleep. Reception was very pleasant ,helpful and spoke both English and French. The only downside was the restaurant menu which was quite limited and the same all week. Breakfast was good and well varied. The staff were excellent. I would use the hotel again but eat out more.

Excellent service from efficient staff. Comfortable room, but downside was noise late in the evening from the kitchen below us. The restaurant served excellent food both at breakfast and dinner. Area very quiet, and the hotel is about 20 minute walk from the town. Lots of free parking. Would go back, but next time would request a room away from the kitchen.

I spent a single night here on two separate occasions. The staff was overworked yet exceptionally friendly and helpful. For example I needed a taxi to the train station, which they called for me. However the taxi drivers were overwhelmed and could not respond, so the concierge of the hotel took me there personally! The room was fine, clean, quiet. The restaurant in the hotel on both occasions gave excellent food and service. Both times a memorable meal. The hotel is not within walking distance of the train station but is within walking distance of centre ville and the port area of Auray (15 minute walk). They gave me a map and I had much fun.

We had a room for three which was more like a suite where the small lounge area had been made into another bedroom. Only window was in the bedroom and no fridge. Otherwise great, the staff are fabulous but it's a twenty minutes walk to where you want to be.

We were touring the Morbihan area for 3 days and wanted a quality place to stay which was also value for money. This hotel fitted the bill perfectly. We got a really good deal on our room, the quality of which was absolutely fine, the service was also great. Food was also good value and the restaurant much much better than we would have expected from a 3 star hotel. Plenty of safe parking too. We would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

This hotel has a quirky exterior that tickled us. Each room has a small window that juts out from the flat face of the hotel and gives the place a 60s space-age kind of feel. That same space on the inside of the room gives a nice shelf to put things. The rooms are not luxurious, but they are spotless with comfortable beds and a clean fair-sized bathroom and great shower. It is located in a very quiet area not too far from the center of town, but you do need to use your car to get around. The front desk was helpful and the staff very friendly. It is a great value for the money. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

A lovely hotel, good parking, clean and comfortable. Nice location for walking to port. Great Market in the town centre in a Monday. Pleasant and helpful staff. Will certain return to this hotel if in area again.

This hotel is our choice of preference on our way to Roscoff from home. Welcoming staff, comfortable rooms with super showers, a restaurant of quality with a varied choice - what more could one want. Only downside was that Mme Grumpy was on breakfast duty on our departure.

Hotel set in a wooded area close to a lovely town of character . The walk into town takes about 15 minutes , with a choice of restaurants and a weekly market . The hotel restaurant is very pleasant and offers interesting and varied menus . The all inclusive offers for the hotel are excellent value and even include a boat trip ! The room was very clean and comfortable , with a good new bathroom .

With family living close by the Best Western in Auray seemed an easy choice for a few nights stay. We read the glowing reviews and decided to give it a try. The outside of this little hotel is kind of dumpy looking but the friendly service and the spotless and correct interior once we arrived inside made up for it quickly. The rooms although on the small side were absolutely perfect for our visit as we mostly just used the hotel to sleep. The beds were super comfortable (with crisp white duvets and decent enough pillows) and the bathrooms are new and spanking clean. The breakfast was a fantastic value and actually excellent for a small hotel. The choice and quality of what was served was wonderful, great bread, amazing coffee, crepes, pancakes, homemade apple sauce ... really worth the money and the breakfast room itself was lovely spot to sit even on a rainy day. We really enjoyed our stay at Le Loch and would happily do it again.

We booked this hotel at the last minute, wanting to stay a few extra days near our family in the area. Don't be deterred by the entrance with its strange, unappealing 1970s architecture. The hotel has been recently renovated and is totally comfortable and pleasant. Our small room was spotless and nicely furnished, with a terrific mattress and comfy pillows. The bathroom was well designed. We enjoyed a quiet, peaceful night's sleep. Don't miss the delicious, ample breakfast buffet. Our group of 2 couples agreed that this is a very nice property at a reasonable price.

Given it's part of a big brand, this small hotel was a welcome surprise. Not only was our compact room clean and comfortable, with a new shower room, free wifi and and safe parking, it also had a surprisingly buzzy little restaurant with lovely picture windows looking into the woodland. Although the location is in a small business park, the Best Western is set amongst trees and even has a small bar with outside terrace. Well located to visit pretty Auray and the Carnac coast. Great price via booking.com. Last but not least: really welcoming staff.

We stayed in this hotel, booked through Booking.com. It was a very clean, comfortable, modern hotel only about 15 minutes walk from the centre of the old town and harbour and easily found by car (free on site parking). The rooms seem to have been recently refurbished/ re-fitted/ re-furnished and the room was spotless. Bed was a very comfortable king size. Lovely walk in shower with drench shower head but with a hose handset which ladies in particular prefer. We didn't use the restaurant or room service but both seemed to have a reasonable menu choice and we noted in the later evening there were a good number of diners in the restaurant.

We had been staying with friends south of Bordeaux and were catching the ferry from Roscoff to Plymouth. We had 2 overnight stops, 1 in La Rochelle and ! in Auray, both Best westerns. We were very pleased with Best Western hotels. A good friend of ours owns a Best Western hotel in England and we enjoy Staying there,

Excellent hotel, quiet, lovely rooms, Excellent staff. The location is in a wooded peaceful area, well signposted and easily accessible. The staff were welcoming and very helpful, we had a lovely meal at reasonable prices

En route from our house in France to our home in the U.K. we like to stop in Auray for at least one night. The old Port of Auray is only a few minutes walk and the environs of the hotel provide good walks for our two dogs. The hotel staff have always been welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent.
