"Excellent location and services"

5
Bruno P, Brussels, Belgium 19/07/2018

This BW hotel offers everything you would be looking for in this part of Britany: excellent location, clear and spacious room facing Brehat island in our case, a quiet place, well equipped (swimming pool, hammam, jacuzzi and sauna) and an excellent breakfast with a device to get fresh orange juice. The personnel is welcoming and attentive to your needs. Very nice, unsollicited, commercial gesture at the end of the stay with a rebate on the third night. Having family in the region, this is my 4th stay, and the pleasure is still the same. Would highly recommend.

"Worst Eastern Minus"

1
jacksolo, Antwerp, Belgium 03/05/2018

We tried to have a drink at the terrace of this seemingly fine establishment but felt very unwelcome. In fact I've had better service in Eastern Berlin and Moscow before the fall of the Iron Curtain and Lord knows it was lousy at best. Although there was another couple on the terrace having drinks and plenty of staff around in the adjoining (and not very busy) dining room we felt completely ignored for almost ten minutes. I went in and ordered at the bar. Another five minutes passed. The bartender then popped up outside, apparently having forgotten half of our order (a 1664 beer and a Perrier, not that hard to remember) so we ordered again). After another long wait the drinks finally arrived. Of course I payed immediately to avoid further disappointment but we waited in vain for our change to arrive while we slowly sipped our drinks. In the end I had to go inside to collect my change. I would have appreciated an apology or an explanation after I mentioned the bartender's peculiar idea of good service, but nothing came of that. We were happy to leave and decided to never return to this sad place.

"A gem of a spa hotel."

Having missed the last ferry to ile de Brehat, I walked to the hotel just up the path. I asked if they had any vacancies, and the answer was yes. I was prepared to pay upwards of 200 euros, but to my surprise the cost was 90 euros per night. This cost included use of the spa facilities which included sauna, hot tub and swimming pool. Luxurious towels and robes were provided, also included in the cost. The hotel dining room served until 11:00, so I had a delicious meal while watching the sunset over the ocean. The cost of meals was also very reasonable. The staff, who spoke English ( another plus, as I had been travelling all day and had to try to speak French most of that time, as outside Paris it is difficult to find English spoken) were friendly, helpful and gracious. The rooms were a generous size, and very clean and well appointed. I plan on coming here again and again, and staying longer. My unplanned emergency stay was a means to discovering a gem of a small hotel!

"Great location and view to Brehat"

The hotel is situated right at the point of the ferry across to Brehat. The bar has a great terrace overlooking the water. However in inclement weather the terrace is exposed and the inside bar area is rather cramped. The hotel does have a small indoor pool and Jacuzzi. For our group stay, the hotel provided secure parking for some vintage cars which was one reason for choosing to stay. One downside was the restaurant. Whilst providing a great breakfast selection, our evening meal was disappointing, at least for those who chose the fish pie which was dry and most unappetizing.

"A quiet and beautiful hotel with an amazing restaurant"

As the name states this hotel faces Brehat island. The place is busy during the day as loads of people gather on the pier to board the ferry to Brehat. It is peaceful and quiet at night. My room was nicely decorated and I could enjoy the sauna and the jacuzzi before dinner. I did not make any reservation and the restaurant seems to befell known by locals. I managed to find a table on the terrasse, but it was a beautiful and windy evening and the maitre d'hotel had another table added for me under the patio for me to enjoy the view without freezing. A very kind touch. The food was amazing and the service perfect. I will come back!

"France at its finest"

Beautiful Location and nice hotel room and restaurant has fabulous food. The staff were very friendly and able to speak English and the food was fresh and breakfast was great with a large selection of choices.

"Great location"

bruce w, Saint-Malo, France 01/11/2016

Ideally located for visiting Brehat, literally 10 yards from the jetty. Service at the reception is very efficient and friendly, the room its self was good but not great, the decoration is quite sparse and simple. The spa was also very pleasent when we were in it alone and could enjoy the hammam, jacuzzi and pool, unfortunatly some guests then decide to bring their young children in and the small space suddenly turns into the local swimming pool. Maybe the message 'espace de detente' should be made clearer to certain guests. Breakfast was however excellent, superb choice , pleasent service and a great view.

We love this place!! Our second stay this summer. Great room, dog friendly, very accommodating staff plus a very good seafood restaurant. The breakfast buffet is killer. Located at the ferry pier to Brehat islands. They also have a spa with indoor pool and hot tub. Everything you need is here. Enjoy!!

"Excellent hotel and service "

FTR2013, Weybridge, United Kingdom 17/08/2016

We stayed as a family of 4 in a family duplex room with a sea view (San Francisco/New York room) and had a brilliant stay. When we arrived we had the Sunday brunch buffet which was excellent. It is not cheap at 32 euros per adult and 16 euros per child but it was great value with plenty of fresh sea food, a stunning 360 degree view from the terrace and plenty of lovely cakes. You can eat whatever you want and go back as much as you want. We then spent the afternoon on ile de Brehat which is very convenient as the hotel is at the boat terminal. The rooms are very clean, new, well furnished. There is a small part of the bedroom downstairs and a larger room up the stairs so as to accommodate 4 people in a duplex. We were provided with towels, slippers and bathrobes and my kids were off straight away to the indoor pool which was good and then the jacuzzi on the 1st floor external terrace which has a large seating area and is pleasant on a warm day. I was very impressed by the service in the restaurant where the staff were really friendly, gave us lots of advice on the food and the area. They were really going out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted and we were happy. Food at breakfast was great also, a lot of choice. There is secure parking and Paimpol is a short 5 minute drive away for dinner. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again and it was a highlight of our Brittany stay. The views are to die for.

"The best of Best Western"

MSH-Sussex, Eastbourne, United Kingdom 12/08/2016

Not only is this a great hotel to base oneself for visiting the Brehat Archipelago, it is also one of the best Great Western hotels that we've stayed in. The hotel is stylishly modern with comfortable bedrooms - most of which have views looking towards the islands. And the reception staff were notably both friendly and very helpful. Conveniently located next to the ferry to Brehat, it was perfect for a 2 night stay.

"Amazing Hotel"

Ragnarok321, Carlingford, Louth, Ireland 17/05/2016

This hotel is located right across from the island of Bréhat and is an amazing place to stay. I happened to be visiting for work rsther than pleasure so I didn't get the chance to fully enjoy it's amenities. The hotel staff are very friendly and give you a short tour of the building on their way to showing you to your room. The rooms have names rather than numbers and are very nice. Almost every room has an amazing view. The breakfast has a wide array of options so there's something for everyone. I'll definitely stay again if I happen to be in the area again.

"Great hotel with amazing view over the sea & Brehat Island"

karine l, La-Baule-Escoublac, France 09/05/2016

We spend 3 days over Easter 2016 with children, grand parents and even the dog ! the hotel is perfectly located in front of Brehat Island, the view is stunning, The rooms are really nice, especially the family rooms over 2 floors. The service is very kind, always with a smile, the restaurant is perfect facing the sea, ideal for seafood at a reasonable price. Will definitely go back !

"Solid hotel at the foot of Île de Bréhat"

3
ReneVerkaart, Maastricht 14/09/2015

This is a solid hotel. The rooms are okay, and our room even had a shower, which is pretty seldom in France. We changed to a family room which was quite large and light. But this was only while we decided to take a more expensive room, because the room we booked was dark and only had a tiny window. With a view on the Ale de Bréhat, this was not what we expected. There's a jacuzzi in the back that's always warm and ready to be used. The hotel seemed to have a really good restaurant, though we didn't eat there. But the menu card looked really good, so it might be worth a try. This is the only place in the Bretagne where we found the 'real pastis'. Whenever you get here order a Henri Bardouin pastis and you'll be more than happy.

"Three nights in Brehat"

4
Fire2fly, Salisbury, United Kingdom 14/09/2015

This is an excellent hotel and restaurant located close to the ferry to the island with secure parking for guests. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are of adequate size. The first floor room in which we stayed is named Sydney and had at the front a balcony overlooking the port with chairs and a table. (The rooms are named after world cities) At the rear there is a grassed and decked area with tables, chairs and sun beds. The restaurant is on the ground floor overlooking the bay.

"Helpful but a bit disappointed"

3
LesVioques, Gainsborough, United Kingdom 16/08/2015

3 night stay at the end of a holiday. We booked a comfort room - this room didn't quite live up to its name. Very clean but basic, small beds with hardly enough room to be comfortable. Not even a comfy chair but then where would they have put it. Wifi was supposed to work throughout the hotel and we were forever having to reconnect it. I think people who design these systems should have to use them. Restaurant had a wonderful sea view but was expensive for the quality of the food. Service throughout was friendly and courteous. Bar area was small with a few rather uncomfortable chairs. If you are looking for a hotel in which to relax then this is not for you. It's more like an upmarket motel.

"Thank you for a perfect stay!!"

We arrived for a 1 week stay and were very nicely welcomed, showed to the room and explained everything. The Junior Suite has a lot of room, the bathroom with whirlpool equipped. We had a perfect view on the sea. The restaurant team was just amazing and convinced with 5* service and really tasty food every night. A perfect stay!

"Wonderful stay by the sea"

minjerribah2014, Brisbane, Australia 22/07/2015

We stayed here at Best Western Brehat for 5 nights and had a very restful and enjoyable stay. The view from the room overlooked the Isle of Brehat, it was a 180 degree panoramic view. A days trip to the island was most enjoyable. Staff at the Hotel reception were very friendly and helpful as were the staff in the restaurant and the cleaning service staff The breakfast buffet was a marvellous selection to cater for a variety of tastes. The view from the restaurant is magnificent. i suggest trying the seafood platter.

"Lots to do , oh , and what a view !"

7777markw, London, United Kingdom 18/07/2015

Stayed here for three nights in the Quebec room , one of the " superior " rooms in the rear block with a "lateral " sea view . Apart from having a slightly too small bathroom the room was fine , benefitting from a sea view when laying in bed ! And a green roof sun lounger terrace right outside the door . The restaurant menu was mixed , some things really good and some a bit bland .Three courses was too much for us so we mixed a full " menu " with an additional main course so as to have two courses each . The 30 euro menu was good value . Brehat island , the reason we came didn't disappoint . We hired bikes and explored the whole island in a day .

"Amazing. Beautiful views and very relaxing"

Had three nights in two story "Stockholm" looking out toward Ile de Brehat. Views are incredible. Beds were VERY comfortable. Both bathrooms had only showers, but they did the trick. Had loads of storage space and plenty of room for the three of us. Enclosed car park was handy. Breakfast buffet priced well and offerings really tasty....we enjoyed the strawberry jam, honey, and cheeses. Had a delicious seafood lunch on the terrace. Louise at reception is an absolute delight. She was very sweet and helpful and no question was asking too much. As I'm familiar with northern Brittany this is not only a perfect location for a day trip to Ile de Brehat, but for doing some traveling around the area. We were so impressed with this stay we've already booked a return trip for next week!
