"Modern touches in an ancient city "
ChristopherWard52, 10 Décembre 2023

This is a wonderful place with an excellent breakfast room, serving a delicious variety of morning fare. Modern touches in the ancient city of Quimper. We loved the views from our room window, and as I am an oil painter here in New Mexico, I've painted the view with satisfaction. The staff was pleasant and attentive. And as I walk with a cane, I was happy to find a handicapped-designated parking place directly across from the hotel entrance. When we return to Brittany, Quimper, and this hotel, will be on our travel list.

"A little oasis in the centre of Quimper."
John M, 27 Septembre 2023

perfect location, just a 5 minute walk from the cathedral. Car parking on site (€12 per day) but it's worth it in this central location. Room was clean & comfortable, with calm decoration. Breakfast was buffet style with OK choice, but the highlight was being able to eat outside in the courtyard, with a very Zen fishpond & planting. Dog-friendly hotel, and plenty of four-legged guests in evidence! Super-helpful staff, very friendly and witnessed very diplomatic treatment of some really awkward customers. Well done!

"Wonderful stay"
reviewer78243, 24 Septembre 2023

Really nice stay. 4 nights with two rooms, we loved the location close to old town, but quiet at night. Off street parking is great (7 euros a night) in a town that is really tough to find parking. Rooms were large, great shower, wonderful staff, good wifi, everything you want in a hotel. I really liked that they had a cold water filter machine as well for guests! Crib for the baby was great too. Highly recommend this hotel.

"Not worth the money"
GranZorro, 13 Septembre 2023

Our impression from a summer spent in France is that the quality of the country's hotels does not match the official rankings. This is also the case here. The rooms are barely adequate, and the parking is a challenge. The friendly staff does not compensate for the property's drawbacks.

"A perfect stay!"
leslienorman1, 27 Avril 2023

Wow, what a great find ! A most excellent hotel in the centre of Quimper with great parking. The reception received has been great with very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms and facilities are great with a perfect breakfast. Just about to enjoy our fourth night. All this at a very reasonable price. We will be back!

"Lovely :-)"
ITS M, 07 Novembre 2022

We stayed here in October. A little tricky to find. It wasn't a fancy hotel but clean and safe and a lovely breakfast. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a balcony in the living room on the street side and big windows that we left open at night for a lovely breeze, opening up to a courtyard. Nice king bed and bathroom. Free parking and within walking distance to town with lots of restaurants and many nice shops and a big food market. We made the mistake the first night walking in the wrong direction and had trouble fining a restaurant. But the next day we walked towards the Cathedral and found many nice restaurants. The highlight of the hotel was our host and hostess Stan and Laura. I hope it's Laura, I am sorry, I am a bit jet lagged. She was lovely. They were both so nice and friendly and professional and funny. We very much enjoyed their company and we loved, loved, loved their puppy Tsarine. The cutest little dachshund you've ever seen! She made it feel like home :-) The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was lovely Laura was so sweet and kind and made sure everything was fresh and perfect. A lovely presentation. It was raining so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely garden with a Koi pond. They also have a small bar to enjoy a cocktail. They were both very helpful. We ran into them in town while we were having lunch and we stopped and chatted and got to see their puppy again!. They made us feel like we had friends in Quimpe ! So thank you both. Some people wait a lifetime to go on a big trip and these two certainly seem to understand that and did everything to make our trip special. Merci!

"Chic and elegant hotel"
carolyn G, 17 Octobre 2022

What a gorgeous hotel set near the old part of Quimper. The hotel is beautifully appointed with comfortable lounges and sitting areas and a beautiful garden which was a lovely place to sit. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with a great choice. The owners were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed meeting their dog! Easy parking made our trip so easy. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to go back soon

"Gorgeous Modern Hotel"
Susan M, 05 Octobre 2022

We booked this hotel the day before we arrived. It is a Best Western Plus Hotel. The Hotel is situated in a quite street of Quimper only about a 5 minute walk to the centre, very convenient. We were very warmly welcomed by Sten I and Lauraelena. We were allocated a room on the 3rd Floor. It was a lovely room with an excellent bathroom. The hotel is beautifully designed interiorly, wonderful attention to detail. All the staff were most helpful in giving information on where we might eat not too far away. The Kreggan does not have a Restaurant, but there are plenty of places to dine including many many Creperie's. There is a very comfortable lounge for Residents to read a book or have a glass of wine, or both!!! Breakfast was excellent and there was never a shortage of anything, lovely juices, cereals, fruit, yogurt and breads, crepes. Wonderful. Thank you to all the team at Hotel Kreggan for making us feel so welcome.

"Trip to Brittany"
Claude B, 05 Septembre 2022

Great Hotel, good size room, quiet location, very clean and excellent breakfast, the staff is very courteous and attentive. Very close to shops/restaurants, etc. The only challenge is the parking, one night we had to park on the street. But overall a great hotel.

"noisy, no air conditioning"
Turner S, 04 Août 2022

Some rooms have air conditioning, ours did not. That can be tolerable on a 34C day if you can open the window. However, there are a few bars at the end of the street that were loud until nearly 3am. So pick your poison, heat or noise. Make sure you get a room with AC in the summer, preferably not overlooking the street. The soundproofing was good. The rest of the hotel was nice, staff were very friendly, and it's a good location. They had parking as well but we didn't use it. Just be very precise with your room selection.

"Quimper tourist"
AshCam22787, 29 Avril 2022

Walking into the chic Hotel Kregenn, I was greeted by employees, who are professional, polite, and when asked make great recommendations. I loved the fact the hotel was close to so many shops/restaurants and the beautiful cathedral. The room was clean, sizeable, and tastefully decorated (nice color palettes). And an added bonus, the continental breakfast was always filled with an assortment of delicious, local foods and drinks. Definitely plan on returning.

"Rooms comfortable but very basic."
roberthK795WV, 09 Janvier 2022

I believe this hotel is overpriced. I know it is in a central location but the rooms need updating and are quite basic. I can't understand when you book a room for 2 people they only provide 1 comfortable chair. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would return but would want a different room.

"Charming, well situated"
sandrine0, 16 Août 2021

Charming, well situated hotel 2 minutes walk from Quimper city center - but far enough away from tourist hustle to be easily accessible and quiet. The hotel is the perfect balance of the amenities you expect from a Best Western and the charm and warmth of a franchise owner. The hotel has been run for 14 years by a mother and her son who are attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the area. Parking on the premises, easy in and out by car from main Quimper thoroughfare for those who wish to day trip in the Brittany area. Good breakfast in the mornings, clean, sizable rooms. Highly recommend.

"Not perfect, but probably one of the best in Quimper"
gerardpu, 08 Août 2021

Not an overwhelmingly nice hotel at first sight, but it has a comfortable reception area and lobby, a very okay breakfast room and a garden (unfortunately we had rajn). What really makes it stand out is it's location, only a short walk from the Quimper city center. We weren't very happy with our room at first, but it was actually quite alright. The hotel is a bit quirky. The patio has some hotel room doors on the first floor with no way of getting up there. We inquired about these, and apparently the doors are for future expansion of the hotel. Quimper isn't an outstandingly beautiful or interesting city, but definitely worth a visit and we doubt if there is a better place to stay that the Kregenn for this purpose. Especially pleased with the Tesla destination charger, which made this a carefree 2-night stay.

"Excellent location, a comfortable hotel."
BillParis, 19 Juillet 2021

Only a five minute walk from the centre, this hotel cannot be beaten for its location. the common areas are very well presented, comfortable lounges and eating area. The breakfast costs 13€ and the parking costs 7€ per night. However, there was easy parking on the street at night and there are some decent nearby places for breakfast so we didn't make use of this facility. The hotel reception was professional and helpful (they dealt immediately with a problem concerning our TV. in the room). I found the rooms to be on the small side and somewhat characterless, in a chain-hotel way.I was surprised that having your room cleaned each day was only an option for those on a short stay (3 nights). We asked that our room be cleaned each day and it was (to a good standard too). However, I don't like this trend amongst some hotels. It might have something to do with Covid, but I doubt it. Overall, the hotel was comfortable, well located but somewhat pricey . No problems.

"Has to be the best hotel in Quimper!"
Kovilan_Naidoo, 13 Décembre 2019

I stayed at the hotel for three weeks and was really impressed. Check in was smooth and efficient, rooms were ready when we arrived and the receptionist gladly answered all our questions. I had a deluxe room and the room quality exceeded my expectations, definitely more superior considering it's best western brand. Comfortable bed, really good quality bedding, retro come modern furniture and a newly renovated bathroom. The common areas and hotel restaurant definitely exceeded all expectations, one would think you were at a five star hotel! The restaurant served a good quality continental breakfast with lots of options. The best part of the hotel is that its family run and the family will do just about anything to make ones stay comfortable, every interaction with them was pleasant. All in all this was an awesome stay, a home a way from home. I highly recommend the hotel!

"Such a warm welcome "
AntWaller, 29 Novembre 2019

Stayed here for a few days with work. Nice characterful hotel, comfortable rooms and stylish public areas. But the thing I liked best was the warm and friendly welcome. The staff and owners couldn't do enough for us. Makes all the difference from a corporate hotel. Nice and close for all the restaurants and shops. Highly recommended.

"Best place in Quimper"
Tom_Langley, 10 Octobre 2019

Great location between train and center city. Very nice place in a very nice town. Hotel is extraordinarily clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely efficient and helpful. To top it off Quimper is a great town.

"Good place to stay in Quimper"
Anthony g, 22 Septembre 2019

Great location just a short walk from Quimper centre. Hotel was fine although room was rather dark and there was no fridge. Secure on site parking was important to us. Lots to see in Quimper - Les Halles market, cathedral, Musee des Beaux Arts, old town, shops.

"Excellent location and facilities "
Arabrabc, 12 Septembre 2019

When looking for a location convenient in town to all of the historic spots, this is it! Only two blocks from the cathedral and the old town, it is easy to drive to, and even has convenient offstreet parking. The rooms are welcoming and comfortable with windows that truly silence the city outside! You might think you were in the country. Bathroom with separate toilet in the European style is a plus. Would definitely go back!

"Very, very, very nice hotel."
perle369, 04 Août 2019

We were extremely pleased with this hotel. The staff are delightful and very efficient. The rooms are very well furnished and well designed. The public areas are really cosy, with lots of different seating areas to choose from. The interior design is eclectic and very refreshing colour wise. In particular it was nice t have a garden sitting area, complete with lily pond. So rare n a city centre. The onsite parking is good and very secure. The breakfast was good with a varied choice. The bedrooms were very comfortable with good bathroom facilities. The very small bar has a good but limited choice of drinks. All in all I cannot think of a better hotel in Quimper, given that its was only a stone's throw from the medieval centre.

"Comfortable and well-soundproofed rooms"
BeckyTinsley, 27 Juillet 2019

Our visit to Quimper unintentionally coincided with the annual July festival of Breton culture which includes live music until late each night. Although the hotel is very central we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet our room was. Lots of room to store things, and a pleasant seating area from which we could watch local life go by. A lovely garden and stylish lounge. Excellent breakfast.

"So helpful"
40states30countries, 22 Juillet 2019

Maybe the best hotel we stayed at out of 8. The stand-out was the staff. They helped us park our car, which was tricky given the 90 degree turn required on the narrow street, brought in our luggage, took it to our room while we were at the museums. They were able to chat about Quimper's history and the events going on that day (music festival.) The location is excellent, walking distance to the historic district. The room and breakfast were fine.

"A nice well run hotel"
JLLLS, 17 Juillet 2019

Arrived after a long drive and were told that they would make the checkin earlier than normal. This was done and we found the rooms well appointed. The staff were extremely pleasant and service very good.

"Good Service at the hotel"
TheFurryGuy, 16 Juillet 2019

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. The rate was good and off street parking was also important to us. Good English spoken by the front dest, to compensate for our bad French. Breakfast is reasonably priced especially the 7 Euro Express option. Would return.

"We got scammed by very unhelpful staff"
SwenW11, 29 Avril 2019

A few friends and I stayed at the hotel. At check in we asked whether the breakfast was included or not in the room rate because the reservation didn't provide any information. The person who checked us in confirmed that the breakfast was included in the rate. When we checked out the next morning, the new staff from the morning crew would not honour it and charged use my friend only had a coffee because she thought it was free but then was made to pay 13 euros. The manager of the hotel acknowledged that their staff made a mistake and gave us the wrong information. But we basically were made to pay 40 euros for 3 cups of coffee. It's a very unfair and but the manager of the hotel seems to think it's ok but I feel they just take advantage of their customers. I would stay away and will never go there again. Very rude and unhelpful

"A solid choice with a few drawbacks"
LouisP701, 02 Avril 2019

The building is beautiful, as are the common areas. But the room leaved a little bit to be desired: it was fairly large, with a good bed and a superb bathroom, but it was poorly lit, some pieces of furniture were dusty, and the color scheme (blue carpet with green walls) was dark and a bit sad. The next morning, a delicious breakfast awaited - earning the hotel an extra "star" from me!

"Charm, Comfort & Convenience in Quimper!"
susan c, 13 Octobre 2018

Back from 3 weeks of sightseeing in Brittany, 10 glorious days of which were spent in Quimper at The Hotel Kregenn. Their staff was so gracious, welcoming and helpful! Stanislaus manages the desk during the week and he is a gem! He also speaks very good English and can assist with directions and suggestions. The hotel has an elevator. The rooms are small, but well appointed compared to many French hotels. The room had a hairdryer, generously sized towels, bars of soap and gel soap...and the petit dejeuner served each morning had a wide selection of breads, jams, yogurt, fresh fruit, sliced fruit, eggs to hard boil, meats, cheeses, juices, teas and coffees. It was always a great start to each day! Behind the breakfast room, there's a small garden with a koi pond in which to sit and relax with your cup of coffee. There's also a comfortable and intimate lounge off of the lobby. The hotel is located an easy walk from the train station and a few blocks from the Cathedral St. Corentin on the place (or town square). Located around the place is The Beaux Arts Musee, a pharmacy, restaurants and the famous Art de Cornouaille shop. There you can shop for postcards, aprons, the famous Breton cookies & caramels and Quimper faience, old and new! (You have to ask to see the old pottery.) Along the walk to the place, there are some delightful cafes and art galleries. If you're tired and hungry, heading out the hotel front door, turn right and a couple of doors down on the same side of the street is a small, family owned Italian restaurant. We think you'd enjoy a stay at The Hotel Gregann! Bonne journee!

"A Bit Hard to Find, but worth the effort"
mitch w, 15 Septembre 2018

Nicely decorated hotel at the edge of the City Center. Actually only a few blocks from the Cathedral, just a bit out of the way, although we did no see any other 4 star hotels in the area as we explored Run by a very nice lady and her grown son, they care very much for the comfort of their guests. Breakfast more than ample, Several side rooms in which to relax outside your chamber, plus a wonderful terrace in the back with a fish pond. Will stay here again on our next visit.

"Good hotel in a great location"
ElizabethDonn, 22 Août 2018

We had two nights here in a suite with a king bed. We had room 333. The room was large with a king bed on one side, a sitting room on the other, divided by the bathroom. I found the bed to be quite uncomfortable with a very firm mattress that slumped in the middle. The bathroom was a good size with a spa bath with shower overhead and the toilet was separate. The room had a safe and air conditioning. The living room had double doors that opened on to a private balcony with chairs. The room had 3 chairs but a sofa would have made it a little more homely. Everything was very clean. The reception areas and public areas are lovely. Everything looks new and it is very nicely decorated. There's a small lift so you can send your luggage upstairs easily. Also a lovely private garden and sitting area at the rear. Breakfast was a lovely European style continental at a reasonable additional price. Secure, off road parking right next to the hotel for an extra €7. My only complaint was our room was guaranteed to be ready at 2.00pm but when we arrived at 3.15pm we were told the lasts guests left late so it wouldn't be ready till 4pm. Not particularly happy about this but we were offered a cup of tea while we waited so not all bad. It's a very easy 5 minute walk into old town and there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. The young man on reception (sorry I didn't get his name) spoke excellent English and was very helpful. The WIFI, while free, was unreliable and while not a big deal for a French traveler, it is annoying for a foreign visitor trying to stay in touch with home!

"Quimper Hotel"
Ellen K, 16 Août 2018

This Quimper hotel is right in the city and made visiting the historic center an easy walk. The staff (especially Stanislaw) was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. Bedrooms were comfortable but common areas were really beautiful. Lots of quiet spots to relax or have conversations.

"Fantastic Hotel a mere 5 minutes from the old town"
maugham1, 12 Mars 2018

I arrived at the hotel quite late and was pleased that reception was still open. Not only did they check me in and make sure that I knew that parking meters kicked in at 9:00 AM, but they also gave me a map of the city. The room was clean, quiet, pleasant and comfortable. Basically it had everything I could want. And the location really can't be beat. The post office is around the corner, you are a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral or rue St Catherine which is the best bet for finding restaurants beyond creperies. I would definitely stay here again.

"Comfortable, good location, nice staff, more 3 star than 4"
sarahspassport, 11 Février 2018

The location is wonderful for strolling the old city center. That there's a car park, breakfast, comfortable beds, spacious rooms and welcoming staff all make this any easy stay. There are just a few details that come up short for a 4-star rating (and they are little details): if you want an alarm clock, radio, cotton balls or toiletries beyond a wall mounted soap bottle, you will need to bring your own. The lack of headboard to finish off the room is just another small detail that I would expect in a 4-star hotel, but not in a 3-star.

"Very pleasant hotel."
Sweetpirhana, 22 Janvier 2018

Staff very courteous and helpful. Rooms cleaned well. Did not try the breakfast but it looked adequate. Car park very useful. Short walk to the centre of Quimper. Good base for driving to other attractive towns.

"Pleasant Stay"
Richard W, 07 Septembre 2017

We stayed at the Hotel Kregenn for four nights in September 2017 and had a thoroughly pleasant experience. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were charming and helpful and the position is very convenient indeed for the city centre area around the cathedral. The hotel has it's own adjacent car park, currently charged at €7 per day, which seems reasonable and saves time looking for on street parking. The Hotel Kregenn is a Bed & Breakfast hotel so has no restaurant but there are an enormous selection of places to eat of all types within a five to ten minute walk. It offers breakfast which we had once when the rain was pouring down; it was a good enough breakfast but is currently being charged at an outrageous €13 per person per day. In my opinion this should be included in the room charge; the other days we were there we had a short walk to get breakfast for €8 thus saving ourselves enough to pay for our parking. My only other negative comment is that the lighting in our room (219) was much too dim. Even with every light in the room turned on and the curtains open I still had to use a torch to see to lock/unlock the room safe. Overall, despite these negative notes, I would certainly be very happy to stay at the Hotel Kregenn again and would recommend it to friends.

"Well situated, comfortable"
steven f, 08 Août 2017

The hotel is only a short walk from the train station, and also close to the cathedral and town center. The public rooms are in a modern style, our room was in a more traditional fashion. There was also a beautiful outdoor seating area with a pond and lily pads. Breakfast was good, with an assortment of cheeses, bread and pastries. The man at the desk spoke excellent English, and put up with my terrible French. We would definitely come back.

"Nice hotel close to the cathedral "
zotnyzot, 22 Juillet 2017

Nice hotel in a great location a couple of minutes walk to get to the cathedral. The hotel is pet friendly and accepted our dog at a fee of 15 euro. Parking is also available at a fee. The rooms were clean, quiet and nice, but not amazing. The bed was really comfortable. We stayed just one night.

"A very pleasant stay"
Bonnie871, 10 Mai 2017

We spent three nights here in April when we were in the area for a wedding. The common areas are lovely and the staff extremely nice and helpful. They were very helpful with places to eat and a hair salon appointment. The room was a bit dated but very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was adequate and nicely presented in a nice setting. The hotel is conveniently located to tour the area but a car is essential. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

"Decent "
Chocochu, 26 Avril 2017

It has its own secured parking. The reception is a bit hip and funky. The rooms were average though. It's fairly near the church. Something to note is that there is a gay bar just beside the hotel which can be quite noisy.

"Friendly and ideally situated "
Paul G, 22 Octobre 2016

Despite our room being a little tired the bed was comfy and the shower warm. We only stopped for a night but it was nice to have only a short 2 minute walk to the cathedral square, where there are lots of nice places to eat. Quimper is well worth a visit.

"Nice but noisy"
Mendo2CA, 12 Octobre 2016

We stayed three nights. The hotel common areas are very nice. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good. There is onsite parking. Our room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was nice. The main problem was the noise from a bar down the street. Other rooms are apparently more quiet but the bar noise interfered with our sleep on the first and last night of our stay. Unless you are a heavy sleeper ask for a room as far from the bar as possible or go somewhere else.

"Hotel needs to address noise issues"
ClassicPat, 09 Octobre 2016

We stayed in Quimper for two nights early September 2016- Sunday and Monday night. As usual we had checked out the hotel reviews before booking. This hotel claims 4 star status. The first sight of the hotel was not inspiring- it is in a slightly scruffy area and the exterior views are nothing like as glamorous as on the website photos. The parking area is secure in the sense that there is a barrier preventing access, but not secure in so far as anyone can walk in from the street without being hindered or observed. The reception area is very pleasantly decorated, even chic, but could best be described as compact. The breakfast area is directly beside the reception desk, in a corner alcove of the lobby- not very appealing. We decided not to take breakfast in the hotel, preferring to eat in one of the many cafes nearby- more atmospheric and a lot cheaper. A small escalator led to the upper floors. We had booked the comfort double room, and had requested a quiet room. We were however given a room overlooking the street. The room was basic, clean and adequately equipped. The hotel amenities were perfectly OK- if it had been classed as a 2 or 3 star establishment. However the mere fact of claiming 4 star status on their website sets higher expectations. I did notice that the name plate outside the building only claimed 3 star status- closer to reality. For example, paper cups for the in-room coffee service is not 4-star. Neither is the fact that on both days the room service staff supplied only the bare amount to make 2 cups of tea or coffee. The WiFi was problematic, weak signal and an irritating log-on procedure, but that's not the end of the world. However Sunday evening was nearly the end of the world. Both nights of our stay were quite warm. There was no air conditioning in the room, and I could not see any fresh air vent anywhere. So we had to try to sleep with the windows open. However there is a bar on the corner of the street very close to the hotel, so well patronised that the customers overspilled into the street. The noise with the windows open was unbelievable. With the windows closed, the room was unbearably stuffy and warm. The noise eventually faded at around 3am. Being a Sunday night, we assumed this was just joie de vivre. However the following night, Monday was just the same. Again the noise went on until 2:30 am or so. It completely ruined our stay. On checking out Tuesday morning we told the gentleman at reception of our experience. He told us that this has been a problem ever since he had started in this hotel some 10 years ago. I asked why our request for a quiet room had been ignored- he said that "everyone asks for a quiet room". The hotel's gesture for our problems was to take out the overnight parking charge. This is just not adequate. In summary this hotel has great potential. It is well located in a charming city, close to tourist attractions and restaurants. But it does not deliver what it promises. The hotel would be better off claiming a more realistic star rating, so that expectations will be at a more realistic level. When you expect 2 stars, and get 3 star service, you are delighted. But not the other way round. Second, get rid of the paper cups. Third, provide air conditioning and/or proper room ventilation. And above all, do something with your city authorities to control the anti-social behaviour in your street. This is a residential street, and this problem is not an occasional one at weekends only, or times of festivals- and how the other residents put up with these noise levels is beyond my comprehension.

"Initially off putting"
popeye177, 09 Octobre 2016

We had booked this hotel before arriving in Quimper and frankly we were a little disappointed with the outside appearance of the property. It is situated in a narrow little street which has few other shops and business premises on it. The outside of the hotel does not match the inside, and if I had not booked it previously, frankly, I would have driven past and found somewhere else. To be more positive, the inside of the hotel is bright and friendly, the desk clerk was exceptionally helpful, the bedroom was large and very comfortable, and the self service breakfast was good value. Onsite parking was available for a charge, which was reassuring as the general surrounding area is a little intimidating. Maybe the management should spend a few euro on the exterior .

"Good hotel, clean, comfortable and close to central Quimper"
annew965, 30 Août 2016

I booked on the Best Western website about 6 months in advance and was only offered a suite. Not having been to the area before I assumed that August was a busy time but when we arrived the hotel did not seem overly busy, so not sure why I had limited choice of rooms. Having said that our suite was very comfortable and spacious with separate sitting area with coffee machine, fridge, wardrobe and safe. Our bathroom had a bath with shower and there was a separate toilet. French doors from our room opened on to some steps which led to our own courtyard with patio furniture. Our room was at the back of the hotel and looked over the garden which also had patio furniture. Everything was spotless and coffee etc was replenished daily. Having read the other reviews, we had no problems with noise but maybe it was because we stayed mid-week (2nd to 4th August). Wifi worked perfectly adequately, although we had to log on each day. The public areas were spacious and well maintained. Breakfast was fine for us with a good selection of cereals, fruit and the usual continental fare including eggs. Parking next door was a bonus. It's not free but this was quite normal in most of the hotels we visited, and the hotel is just a short stroll to the centre of Quimper, where parking seemed to be a problem. All in all we enjoyed our visit to Quimper and would certainly consider returning to BW Quimper. Thank you to all the staff.

"A pleasant stay in Quimper"
Chris R, 23 Août 2016

My wife and I spent 3 nights here on our first visit to Quimper. Our room was good, but could have been improved by repair of towel hooks; some thought about health and safety around the shower, for example a non-slip mat and grab handles, as the shower was over the bath. There was nowhere to store clothes, apart from a hanging space. The room was quiet and adequately air-conditioned. The wi-fi whilst free required repeated log-ins and was slow at times. Breakfast was nice though quite simple. This was quite adequate for me but might disappoint someone with greater expectations. Parking beside the hotel was very good, though charged for. The location of the hotel was first class, very close to the main attractions of the town, which greatly impressed us. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

"Great public rooms; dated bedrooms"
Genuinefoodlover2014, 04 Août 2016

We booked their mid-price (but quite expensive - I think 220 euros) room which had 'de luxe' in the title - when we told them on checking out that it wasn't a luxury room, the guy reception said 'it's just a name'.... hmmm. They offer car parking but then charge you (I think 7 euros). The public areas have been decorated smartly in a contemporary style and then the disappointment comes when you get to your room, which needs the same treatment. The corridors are dark and although movement seems to trigger the lights, when we came out of our room we had to stand and then walk in the dark before it lit up, which didn't seem very safe. At breakfast there was a buffet with a variety of the usual foods, disappointingly they couldn't produce sugar free muesli or cereal. A couple sitting next to us at breakfast who come to Brittany every year for a number of weeks said they felt this was the most disappointing place they'd stayed. Overall, probably ok if they refurb the rooms.

"Good hotel, but too many annoyances"
Peter G, 25 Juillet 2016

Hotel Kregenn is well located, within easy walking distances to many restaurants and sights. The hotel is modern, with attractive public spaces. Our "deluxe" room was generous in size, attractively furnished, and in good repair. There was an in-room safe, but no refrigerator. The breakfast buffet (13€ per person) seemed a bit pricy for a continental breakfast, but choices included three cereals, a selection of pastries and breads, yogurts, and some fresh fruits. Parking is an extra 7€/day. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Be aware: we booked our room at a prepaid, nonrefundable "early web special" rate, but significantly lower "last minute" rates were available before our arrival. However, the hotel has too many annoyances to rank above average. The advertised free wi-fi was repeatedly problematic, frequently loosing connectivity and requiring repeated sluggish logons. On many occasions, wi-fi was unavailable in the room (and sometimes in the lobby as well). The bed creaked and sagged noticeably toward the center. Housekeeping did not empty the trash, and did not restock the cups for coffe/tea. The in-room coffee options were limited to two servings of decaffeinated coffee. Using the shower predictably flooded the bathroom floor. Overall: an adequate but not great hotel.

"Avoid this Hotel!!!!!!!"

"Good friendly hotel, centrally situated."
onlymybumf238, 02 Juin 2016

We have stayed in this hotel previously. It is centrally situated for visiting Quimper. Unlike many French hotels, the car park is relatively easy to access with reasonable space. The few staff there are were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The rooms are quite quirky and vary in size and amenities. To the left of the hotel is a bar which opens weekends. In rooms adjoining the bar, music can be heard until one in the morning. At the rear of the hotel is a wall courtyard which forms a very welcoming retreat. All in all a very good place to stay when visiting Qimper.

"Lovely Hotel"

Comfortable and clean. Spacious rooms with all mod cons. Conveniently located close to the cathedral and town centre. Very nice pond out the back which you could easily miss. Very lively pub around the corner. Would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

"A jewel in Brittany!"
Bernard S, 04 Décembre 2015

Well located and run hotel on a quiet street in downtown of the exquisite city of Quimper, at the tip of Brittany: walking distance from train station, warm welcome and special attention by a dedicated family owned staff, great nice looking furnishing, nice background open air platform for breakfast and rest, what else could one ask for!

"Excellent central hotel"
Jester1603, 24 Septembre 2015

Very comfortable room and bed with good quality linen and pillows . Hotel in good position close to the cathedral and restaurants. Secure parking next to the hotel excellent. Value for for money. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend .

"staff were great"
Richard L, 16 Septembre 2015

Staff were great, breakfast really good, rooms very comfortable but with small French plumbing problems - all just 5 minutes walk to Quimper centre. Excellent break at a reasonable price. On site secure parking. Quimper OK if you,re a fan of galleries.

"Very comfortable hotel."
PhiljLichfield, 15 Septembre 2015

We stayed here for two nights recently. Not the easiest hotel to find and in a bit of a back street which initially was off-putting but it is very close to the old town. I was also worried about parking but the hotel has its own car park available at a small cost. The interior is very smart and classy. The room really was very good with all you would need and decorated to a high standard. Our only issues were they didn't leave milk in the room ( although there was no problem getting some ) and the cups were paper. Breakfast was good, all you would expect from a French breakfast, of a good quality and plenty of it. The staff are excellent. Very helpful and extremely pleasant. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

"Great hotel in great location"
Gypsies-on-the-go, 12 Septembre 2015

We were pleasantly surprised when we reached the hotel in the old city. It is owned by a lovely woman, Laure. Her son, Stanislaus, works at the front desk and speaks perfect English. She is there daily with hands on as well. We had a nice room on the interior as there was street construction and we did not want the noise. It was two blocks away from the cathedral and all the shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean, sleek, and contemporary. Nice flat screen TV on the wall; no refrig, but there is an electric water pot for tea only. Great shower, comfortable bed with crisp sheets and it was quiet! The hotel serves apparitifs and we also had a nice breakfast for 10 euros each. I found out they will serve you eggs if you ask for them, but it is in the fine print and no one said anything. I have read in other reviews that their breakfast was included, but ours was not. There is a nice garden in the back. Mother and son could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. A real plus for those who drive there--there is a secure parking lot attached for 7 euros a night. It seems like this would be a good business hotel as there is a separate room off the entry that would accommodate that. We definitely would return and recommend.

"Not a chain hotel."
YorkshireAviator, 20 Juillet 2015

Although under the BW branding, this is evidently a family run type of hotel. The level of maintenance is very good, and the quality of service from Reception is more consistent with a proprietor than an employee. The location is very convenient for the delightful old town. The street is a little dingy, and shows evidence of the donkeys used to give rides to children. There is no sign of the noisy bar mentioned in old reviews. There is nothing at all dingy to see once inside the building. The public areas are elegant and modern without being too quirky. The little back garden with ferns and a pond is unexpected in a city centre. Our room(105) had a restful decor of brownish walls and floor, with verdegris painted furniture. The perspex type chairs are more comfortable than they appear.Other rooms (107) have a more conventional colour scheme and wood/upholstered chairs.Although in the modern style, the bathroom was practical, with a proper bath and a basin just large enough to be usable(and with a plug),and an excellent storage shelf. Lighting is free from depressing CFL units, and is sparkling bright in the bathroom. The bedroom, with dark walls, would benefit by some wall lights above the bed.The bed was most comfortable, and it was quiet at night. The room is equipped with a kettle, but, surprisingly,no fridge. The central type air conditioning was working(July). Breakfast emphasises quality rather than gross profusion.Eggs are the only hot food, and would be better advertised by not being in small print at the very bottom of the bill of fare. There are especially good local cheses and preserves. The bread is as expected in France, and there is a toaster and sliced bread for the English. The tea,in a cast iron teapot,is excellent ,especially if you do not destroy it with milk. I hope to return.

"Excellent - Once inside the "Oasis""
MCBW5875, 10 Juillet 2015

The hotel reception and breakfast areas were truly beautiful with a sleek modern, yet warm, flair. The rooms were spacious, pristinely clean, beautifully furnished and quiet with lovely appointments. The included breakfast buffet offerings were fresh and closely monitored for replenishing. The son reception host and his mother owner were amazingly helpful, friendly, hardworking and efficient. Secure parking is also an option. Its an easy walk to the old city. The sole negative of the hotel was the street on which it was located which at first was off putting. However, this was quickly overlooked because of the outstanding service and ambience of Hotel Kreggan.

"Perfect location."
Greg_and_Claude, 01 Juillet 2015

Very nice hotel just outside the old city. Room was spacious, breakfast was very good. Room was quiet. Minor things: key card had to be reset several times, air conditioning required a Bachelor's degree and you had to read the fine print on the card on the buffet to know that breakfast included eggs.

"Friendly, comfortable and well-appointed hotel. Recently refurbished."
pauldaviesuk, 18 Juin 2015

The hotel's location is slightly un-prepossessing but that is more than compensated for by its appointments, comfort and friendly staff. There is a secure car park to the side of the hotel. We did not take breakfast at the hotel - preferring our more usual style of seeking an estaminet or brasserie for a simple cafe / croissant. we were on an extended motoring holiday and found the hotel and Quimper in general to be a great base for exploring Finisterre and Britanny. I would definitely use the hotel again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

"Friendly staf, central location"
Paul D, 24 Janvier 2015

I stayed one night in the hotel for business, although if you like comfort this definately could be a place for tourist use also. Staff was very helpful, clean rooms, good shower, comfortable bed. The city centre is only a short walk and the most popular bar in town is even closer (No worries i did not hear the party)

"Enjoying ultramodern decoration still staying in old-fashioned style in the heart of French Brittany"
chrondi, 04 Juin 2014

A family style hotel with finely tasteful decoration and an aristocratic touch flavour personally managed my a caring and interested in every detail lady. I doubt whether one can find at similar price a better hotel in the region.
