The rooms were nice, staff was pleasant and helpful. They had a good breakfast with lots of seating. It was quiet and staff closed the hall door to keep the dining area noise from coming down the hall. It was nice being able to just go down the hall of the 4th floor for breakfast I, however, would not recommend buying candy at the front desk because my Snickers bar was old.
The room was outdated and had a musty smell, however, they do keep it clean. Absolutely no issue with the cleanliness once you got past the odor. The elevator was broke and we had to walk quite a bit to another elevator on the other side. There was no parking left and I had to park on the street next to homeless people hanging out.
Rooms were very clean. Great breakfast, great staff. Close to almost everything. Our stay was for a graduation at the MCRD. About 8 minutes away . Close to airport, San Diego Zoo. Lots of places to eat within a mile. Lot of parking but a little pricey. Everybody charges for parking.
For the amount of families we saw that were also there, we never once heard them through the walls. Location is super easy to get to anywhere in San Diego, beds are comfortable, room was a great size, and the breakfast bar food was way better than any other hotel we've ever stayed at!
Rooms were more modern and updated then we expected. We were pleasantly surprised how nice and clean the rooms were. Wall art was a nice addition. A little rough around the edges (some paint, rust and or wood chipping). No central room lighting in our first room. All lamps. Breakfast options were amazing. Waffles, eggs, muffins etc.. Although I don't know how the food tasted as we are on a strict diet. Very nice staff as well. Coffee was tasteless and over diluted. Juices were ok, also a little over diluted. Jacuzzi was perfect for my family at 5 PM since that area was shaded at that time of day. We got the last towels. Not sure how soon after they refilled them. Great for little kids if you can watch them like a hawk and be very close to them. There is a little sitting ledge. So my 3 year old could walk in it. But couldn't sit. I was glued to her the entire time for safety. But she had a nice amount of freedom without floaties due to the sitting ledge in the jacuzzi. My 6 year old was able to stand in the jacuzzi safely even though she doesn't know how to swim. Was just shallow enough to allow that. We had a major major issue during our first night stay, but they immediately upgraded us to a suite down the hall. So we switched rooms in the middle of the night. And we spoke to the manager in person before we left after our stay. He was extremely understanding and apologetic. And he comped us satisfactorily (initial offer was subpar, but after some further discussion and explanation of the major issue we experienced, he was very fair in our compensation). Overall, great value for the price.
Very clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast! It was right between highways so a little traffic noise. I liked how secure you felt with the highways being so close but the room was was your access to get in and out. Loved the little parking garage!
the location was great. the dining hall was very small and crowded, and there wasn't enough space for everyone (we had to eat the food in our room because we didn't have any free table to sit at.) the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. the pool area was very nice. the extra bed was terrible, very uncomfortable.
Good prices for our 3 day stay. It's always tough to pick a good hotel but this one was awesome. Close to the Zoo, Old Town San Diego and nearby coffee shops. Rooms were spacious and beds comfy. Clean and breakfast was the best. They had quite a variety! Staff were helpful and friendly. Pool was clean! Will definitely stay here again. We got a 1 bed king suite with a sofa bed.
Loved the pool! Staff were very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was delicious and had many options! The bus stop is a short walk from the property. The room was very spacious and clean. I stayed here with a friend but when I travel back with my family this is definitely where we will stay!
Breakfast was amazing especially with having 5 kids. We needed more towels and they brought them to us very quick. Check-in was very smooth, even though there was a long wine. They moved everybody pretty quickly my family and I will definitely be returning.
Super easy check in and check out. Room was amazing. Family loved it. I loved how close it was to Sea World San Diego and the San Diego Zoo, as well as old town San Diego and the beaches. My family and I will definitely stay at this hotel again, simply awesome.
We had stayed in the room with the king bed and bunk beds. The room was very clean and the front receptionist was very helpful with checking in and other check out things. Would go back again with my family. The breakfast was good lots to choose from.
Room was clean and had a smaller mini fridge. No microwave, which was a bummer as I usually have leftovers that I like to heat up. Conveniently located. Parking was great, especially for elite members. Check in and out was super easy. Overall, it was nice.
My go to hotel in the San Diego area. Will definitely stay next year. If you have kids...the breakfast is included and the right way to start the day! Pool is cleaned every morning and in excellent condition. The Remy restaurant adjacent to the hotel is fabulous.
Dariana got me checked in quick and even got me my bottled waters. Thanks. Room was clean. Had a microwave. Everything worked. Might bring my swim trunks so I can finally enjoy the pool. Always sounds like a full house down there. Another good week at the BW.
Great check in service, friendly housekeepers, good breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable , I slept like a log. Some kids were a little obnoxious but that had nothing to do with the room. It's best to get down to breakfast early before the crowds get there.
This place have some issues with cleaning but they have very friendly front office. They are willing to fix problems. Well! My suggestion is to check in early and go to see the room first before going to sleep in it. 👍 Also the double bed with bunk beds has the sink in the room, I could smell the Sewer pipes.
We loved our king size room. It was on the 4th floor and it had a beautiful view of green trees outside with hills behind them. The hotel is almost secluded so it was so nice and quiet. Staff were outstanding! Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!! Thank you
We had 3 adults in a king suite, which worked very well for us. Jessica was great for check-in (and she happened to be on shift when we checked out too), cheerfully welcoming us and providing all the info we needed. Room was comfortable, good A/C, decent shower, good bed. Pleased with our stay!
This property was close to everything we wanted to visit and not far from anywhere we wanted to visit. All staff was pleasant and helpful. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. I would recommend this property.
,The breakfast was not up to the standards we usually encounter at Best Western. The food choices were very basic. In addition, the dining room was way too small for the number of guests. We stood and waited for tables for unreasonable amount of time on 2 of the 4 days. In fact, the last day we left without breakfast because we ran out of time. The room bathroom needs updating. Having a small sink in an extremely small area out of the main bathroom makes it challenging for family members to have any privacy.
Nice clean rooms, helpful customer service, good breakfast and staff. Kids had a blast in the hotel. Very family friendly. Parking is a little tough but nothing too crazy. Good location and close to beaches and zoo. Would definitely book again
The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly helping us with our plans and had suggestions. The room was nice and clean, no complaints! We were able to get checked in quickly and our room stayed nice and cold even with a heat wave in the area.
The beds are very comfortable. It's nice that the sofa bed is queen size. The breakfast has a good selection and cooked well. The kids especially loved the mini waffles! Location is excellent-it's tight off the freeways with easy access to the beaches, restaurants and stores. This is our second time staying here and plan to return next year.
It was nice to be able to stay at a hotel that allowed me to send flowers for the front desk to hold for me to surprise my partner. Hotel called me to ask me if they could put the flowers in the room, which I thought was a great idea. Everything went well, and the stay was lovely.
The rooms are always cleaned. The staff is very welcoming. If there's anything we need they take care of us. We just stayed at this location in May. It's good to see some of the same familiar faces. We always enjoy the breakfast in the morning. They have a good variety of food. It also has some gluten free choices.
Nice service. Got more pillows and towels. Nice breakfast. Convenient stay close to the tourist spot. Easy in and out of freeway. 😁😁😁😁. I'll book again with BW. Nice and helpful front desk staff. Nice and courteous lady at breakfast helper. Thanks
Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. There were a variety of items for breakfast each day and the food was good. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be staying here again.
Breakfast was nice. Room was clean. The gym was small but clean, had AC and water, and all the equipment worked. Their windows are single pane glass in the rooms so if you are a light sleeper the road noise might keep you awake. They seem to come through and clean the rooms daily.
Great Customer service. This was a very good experience at this location. For ten years we travel and stay at Best Western Hotels. Breonnia Osborne became our contact months after we made the initial reservation. I was initial concern as the previous contact was not responsive (helpful). Even the Security Staff was great. Our Camp experience was successful and Breonnia's Team was a major factor.
This best western met every expectation and more! Beds were super comfortable! Environment was friendly and family oriented Staff were helpful and responsive. Breakfast service was prompt there was the expected selection parfait, waffle and oatmeal stations with an egg and meat option Could have used more variety of options for those stations Oh and huge bonus is location central and close to lots of restaurants, attractions and shopping
I Would definitely stay there again. The staff was amazing. The breakfast was nice. Beds are really comfortable.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and well stocked. The breakfast items were constantly being replenished. All fresh and warm. The front desk was so very kind! Would definitely stay again. The hotel is also very close to both SeaWorld and the Zoo.
The room and hallway were extremely humid. The elevador was only one and took forever. Also it smell like burn and world be risky if you dont watch your step floor will be wet from The People on The pool.
Bunk bed room was perfect for a stay with kids! Breakfast was a hotel breakfast. Coffee was good and the staff keeping the area clean was ON IT. A girl named Amber checked us in and she was phenomenal! I spoke to another girl on the phone, think her name was Jessica, and she was just as friendly! Even shared a chuckle with security while at the pool with the kids. My only noticeable thing was i think there may have been some kid of water leak because they had fans blowing the carpet on our level. It smelt really strong. Maybe a mention of that would have been nice but nothing worth a complaint about. Also like other reviews mentioned parking it tight but worth the daily rate. I would totally stay here again.
rooms were very clean, staff pleasant and responsive, pool was warm as advertised. Hotel is located near almost everything. teething issues with room not ready when we arrived but was resolved. we stayed for 7 days and i definitely recommend .
It's been remolded since we were here last, enjoyed fresh new look. We loved having 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa made it family friendly. We had our room serviced, housekeeping went above and behind we had left it very sandy, they had it cleaned and even tucked in my daughter's stuffed animal and folded her blanket. It was such a treat to come back after a long day. We enjoyed the simple but yet delicious breakfast. We were always welcomed with such friendliness. Thank you for making our home away from home cozy and welcoming.
The elevator broke with us trapped inside it. My daughter was traumatized by this. I wrote an incident report about the issue and nobody even followed up.
We stayed near Radys for a Dr appointment for my daughter. It was a excellent experience. The room was perfect for my husband and daughter and I and the employee Stephanie was the absolute best! She understood what we needed as far as two rooms and gave us a discount for being with Radys. All in all a really really nice experience.
From the cleanliness of the entire hotel to the great breakfast I would recommend this best western and also stay here again. After staying at a not so impressive best western the following few night I was nervous about this one but I was very impressed and happy we stayed here.
Front Desk service is exceptional. Housekeeping is excellent!! If you plan to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi areas, be warned there many kids that jump from the pool into the jacuzzi who have no supervision from their parents. Don't think the hotel staff or security will come to restore order as there were none who did during my stay. If you plan on eating breakfast in this Best Western, I encourage you to make other arrangements if you don't plan on eating bread cooked in various ways. There are no varieties of healthy options for breakfast in this hotel and they serve same thing every day. Also, their sofa bed is not comfortable. It is very thin.
Very good breakfast, comfortable bed, friendly front desk. poor WIFI connection. We had to use our personal hot port. If you are going to San Diego Zoo, Sea World or Legoland with your kids for vacation, this is a good hotel to stay. We had a room with 1 king bed and 1 bunk bed which are good enough for 2 adults + 3 kids.
The sheets and towels had stains and did not appear to be the cleanest. Some of the furniture is damaged and carpet has stains. The bathroom was nice. The breakfast was really nice and had so many options even for my 1 year old. I would stay here again
First impression, looked nicer than the other one I seen down the street. Clean inside the loddy, front desk was quick and helpful. We stayed in one of the suites with a king bed and bunk bed. No weird “hotel” smell. It was very clean inside. There is a dividing door that closes, both sides have own tv, and separate air conditioning. We went to the pool and spa. The pool was fairly clean. It did have some debris, but I believethat to be from the wind, not anything nasty like hair, I've been very grossed out from hotel pools before. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable. I have a hard time sleeping as it is and I will say I slept well without any pains in my back or neck. The Continental breakfast was included with our stay. It had muffins, yogurt, cereal, juice, and COFFEE. The coffee was really good. Again, when I stay different places the coffee makes it or breaks it for me. They have multiple waffle makers, the kids loved that they could make their own. The dinning area nice and clean as well. We were able to sit right down at a clean table. I'm very pleased with my choice to go with this Best Western.
We took a group of 22 to San Diego for a senior trip. The hotel is old, but it's clean and the rooms are comfortable. We enjoyed the location since it was convenient to the airport, San Diego Zoo, ballpark, and Sea World. The staff was friendly and welcoming. If I ever return to San Diego, I would book this hotel again.
Staff was awesome! We were able to use the heated pool multiple times and we got the included breakfast in the morning. Over all we had a great stay and we would stay here again. I do wish parking was included in the stay. The room needed a little bit of TLC; bathtub was peeling and it could use some fresh paint on the walls. Hand soap smelled gross so maybe bring your own. The room was still very clean. House keeping would make our beds and get fresh towels while we were out for the day (much needed for a family of 5).
Amber and Jazmine were great they made everything easy check in was great the housekeepers kept everything clean and stocked they even gave us extra makeup wipes food was ok not great but ok. Rooms were clean only thing was the rooms next to the freeway noisy at night but otherwise great hotel great staff
Staff was super helpful and friendly. When my vehicle would not start and I had a flight everybody came together to help me.
Everytime I visited your Hotel doesn't matter what city I am in always have a great stay the reception is very nice and friendly and fast the rooms are always looking good and very clean
Hotel was clean and beds comfortable. Staff was friendly and very courteous. Hotel was easy to find and near most places we wanted to visit. Hotel breakfast was ok. Only issue is parking lot was a bit tight. Finally, I will visit again in the next time.
Hotel seemed a little old but was in a convenient location for our vacation. I've Never had to pay for parking when staying in a hotel but I guess it's a thing.. We opted for the king suite with the sofa bed (thought our two kids (10,8) would find it cool). The space was very tight for 4 people & the sofa bed was about 4” thick.. you should feel every spring… there were only 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire hotel which wasn't helpful. Breakfast was good and I liked it was served until 10am. Price point was reasonable and for that I wouldn't not go back.
We had a good time, we love it there. Everybody was nice and respectful. The hotel was also clean and smell so good. We will be back.
Very clean and spacious rooms. Terrific breakfast service and atmosphere. Love the extras that are provided with the room. Late night snacks offered in the lobby, even some frozen meals or ramen need be. Pool and hotub for reat late night relaxation. Would definetly stay here again.
The king bed was very comfortable. The room and bathroom was spacious. The elevators were located in unique places. 4th floor opened into the breakfast room. No stores nearby, required other transportation to go anywhere. We flew into town. The staff was friendly.
Quite and great breakfast clean rooms easy to check in and very friendly people the receptionist was very kindly to serve I have no issue to find parking spots and very secure place definitely I will return and recommend it for families and businesses trips
Our hotel was centrally located to everything we wanted to do in and around San Diego. Our room was nice and large and having breakfast in the morning was a huge plus, especially traveling with kids! It was also nice to have a laundry room available on site, as well as, a gym. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub which were nice and clean. We will definitely stay here again when vacationing in San Diego. Thanks again!
The room at this best western was a good size and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately their carpet was dirty with small pieces of garbage on the floor and an old pony tail tie in the night table. They gave us a room at the end of the hotel on the 2nd floor on the freeway side and the noise was terrible from the freeway and interfered with our good sleep. We also couldn't get Wi-Fi on any of our three devices. We stayed for three nights and on the third morning our carpet was soaking wet near the door and when maintenance came they said it was a toilet overflow and we had to pack up and move rooms. The next room had Wi-Fi on all our devices (they need a better router) but the carpet was still not very clean and I had two small dirty bandaides stuck to the bottom of my slipper from previous occupants from walking on the carpet. The hotel was busy and full, and the line the last morning for breakfast took us over 20 minutes to self serve our breakfast food. I would not stay here again.
The hotel check-in was very smooth, from the desk employees were very kind. The location of the hotel was great, as we went to the Zoo and SeaWorld, and we also went to a soccer game. The hotel was in good proximity of all locations. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I'm sure we will be back sometime in the future.
We had great fun and good service provided provided by hotel team And Arrange breakfast and items are too good and quality level looks high and I am recommended my friend or family member to visit best western hotel for staying and having great fun over there
Ashley was accommodating and helpful and the room was clean. The breakfast was decent and the location was close to the theme park. There was a target 8 minutes away and also restaurants near the hotel. They provided a list of restaurants and amenities.
Great location to San Diego attractions and family. The hotel rooms are spacious. Would like to see the hotel bed linens updated. The mattress pad seemed to small for the bed and sheet would not stay tucked in. Since it is located next to the 8, I did hear some traffic noise. Please note that their is a charge for parking.
All I care about is getting a good sleep. The bed was very comfortable and a/c worked well. There is a nice restaurant next door with a bar. No microwave in the room unless you get a suite which was not good. Plus because it is California you have to pay to park.
I came into town and stayed at this hotel prior to my friend's surprise party. I checked in, left for a few hours, and came back around 7:30pm to climb in bed and read. I woke up the next morning with bug bites, consistent in size, cluster pattern, etc. as bed bugs. There were also little spots of blood on my sheets. I contacted the front desk and they sent a maintenance man up who asked me to show him the "animals." I explained that I had bug bites, showed him the ones at my waist, and he searched the bed. He did not see bedbugs and told me they would look into getting me another room. I packed my belongings, did research on how to minimize the risk of bringing bedbugs home with me, and proceeded downstairs to check out. I was not sticking around a hotel with an infestation and I could not go to my friend's house as I did not want to potentially contaminate her home. I ended my 5 day trip less than 24 hours after it started. While waking up with bites, fearing bringing an infestation home with me, and missing the opportunity to see my friends was bad enough, the front desk staff was absolutely horrific. I was told they did not see any bed bugs and, therefore, I was lying. There was no customer service, there was no apology, they would not be doing anything to treat the room, nor would they refund me, since they saw no bedbugs. The staff immediately went on the defensive and tried to cover everything up, rather than providing any customer service. I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel as they do have bugs that bite, they refuse to treat the room, and I was treated like the enemy when all I wanted to do was be refunded for the night I spent getting bitten and leave. I never got a refund for the night I slept there, which I am no longer upset about - I am too busy researching bedbug detection/prevention/etc. in every spare moment I've had since I have been back.
Excellent customer service and clean rooms. The pool was heated as stated in their specifications and the fitness room was nice and clean. It certainly surpassed my expectations but then again Best Western chains always have for the most part.
Clean facilities, parking fee was steep. Breakfast didn't vary much day-to-day, but there was plenty of items available. Family-friendly with a pool and breakfast they would enjoy. Easy to get to, right off the highway and relatively close to the ocean (10 minutes).
Good and conveniently located San Diego location. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff was prompt, professional and thorough. My daughter lost an earring outside the room and left the one remaining on the dresser. Housekeeping must have found the missing earring because they left it with its mate when they serviced the room. Above and beyond service. Also the free breakfast is nice.
The staff was super friendly, easy check in and check out. The room was very spacious and clean. No negative comments. Breakfast was really nice although the apple juice was very watered down. Bed was comfortable and activities nearby were a great touch! Thanks for a great stay close to the zoo!
The hotel upgraded us to a suite free of charge. The suite was fantastic! Comfortable bed, clean and well-appointed rooms, spacious bathroom. Breakfast was amazing! We were able to choose from eggs, sausage, bacon, 3 kinds of waffles, cereals, toast, muffins, coffee, juice, etc.
Everything was a delight. We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were clean and organized. We had complimentary breakfast every morning we were there and it was delicious. The only thing that went wrong one night was the elevator in the parking garage was not working so we had to take the stairs with a few of our bags but it was later fixed.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Didn't spend much time there, but was a good experience. I think the continental breakfast can use a little more work. Maybe more options? I liked that the freeway was just down the street so we can access it and get to our destinations quicker.
Clean decent place especially for the price. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Definitely busy and louder Fri and Sat. The room had an extra "living room" area with a sliding door, separated TV and pull out sofa. Great idea to e able to separate the kids from the adults for a breather once in a while!
Room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have all the shower amenities there. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. It would have been nice to have something other than sliced bread to toast, maybe an english muffin or bagel. I did not use any of the hotel amenities so I have no opinion on the pool or hot tub, etc.
Family place This place had bunk beds Good breakfast Great customer service very friendly and helpful close by great restaurants, sea world and the zoo Close by the shopping centers If you love to play golf there's a golf course 5mins away and indoor skydiving
We were helped by the night courtesy staff at/after 1am because our other hotel fell apart (couldn't sleep because of other guests, even after changing rooms). It was a smooth process and I was finally able to get some sleep and a light breakfast in the morning.
We were seriously scared being here. The hotel was ran down, in a bad part of town, and surrounded by homeless camps. Homeless people were wandering the parking garage. Only one elevator worked. The entire hotel smelled of smoked. Only two of our lights in our room worked. Paint was peeling off the walls and they gave us a sheet of paper saying they didn't recommend any of the surrounding restaurants and to not accept coupons slid under your door …!!! We didn't even stay the night, I did not feel safe there at all.
Ashley and the staff were the best hospitality I've had at any hotel at any star level. Rooms were clean, pool and hot tub were clean. Would happily stay again. Hotel felt safe, continental breakfast was good. Pools and hot tub were opem until 10pm.
Enjoyed stay at Best Western! Complimentary breakfast was a highlight, and rooms were top-notch. Just be mindful of subtle road noise in freeway-facing rooms. Important to know: they charge extra for EV charging, not explicitly mentioned on their website or verbally communicated. Be aware of potential additional fees.
I've been to many best Western and I will have to say that this by far was the best experience that I ever had my check in with easy with Amanda. She has the best customer service that I've had at a Hotel. We were there for my sons graduation for the Marine Corps. Within 40 minutes of us arriving of course you are exhausted. We were a party of six. We were working on getting a shower when we got a call from the front desk from Reanne. She said the people below were complaining of noise. She was kind and did not make me feel like we were doing anything wrong. She just asked if we were okay. I said yes and to please explain to the room below we just checked in. She said she would. She handled it perfect Then the room belo started hitting the ceiling so I called and asked to speak with Amanda and she continued handle it great . Just great customer service all the way around. even the housekeepers. Our room was clean and had three beds. The second night I asked for a second room because we had friends show up. We were able to get the room right next to us the house keepers had it prepared early for us because they as well had traveled. We will be up there again later this year, because my nephew will be going out to and graduating as well. I love you very much for my family to stay here so I will see you guys then thank you. The location is perfect. It is literally right off of the freeway. Plenty of parking they have a snack bar we can purchase and the microwave is in the lobby not in the room. That would be the only negative but the lobby was beautiful. I had a seating area. Lots of family sat there and had a drink to celebrate their family member's accomplishment.
The rooms were clean and very child friendly. All of us enjoyed the included breakfast bar. Staff were very professional and kind. Very close to all the attractions we planned on visiting. Would definitely book here again for any future trips.
I searched high and low through reviews to pick this hotel. This was our experience. It was pretty clean-so we thought. First night, my husband slept on the sofa bed bc of snoring issues and saw next morning that there was crap on the sheet he slept on! Looked like someone who was in that room prior wiped their butt with the sheet!! Housekeeping mgr came in and apologized bc all linens are supposed to be changed. Apparently that was not the case. Tried calling down to lobby at least 4 different times. No one answered phone. The next thing was someone with a small child was in the room above us. Sounded like elephants running back and forth. Again, tried to call front office..no answer. This went on till after midnight. Breakfast was ok but be sure to understand you will get scrambled eggs with chicken sausage and reg sausage one day then a cheese omelet the next day with sausage and then repeat...for 7 days. They had waffles but was imppssible to get to machines. No potatoes even?? View was the pool bc I did not want to be on freeway side. I felt safe as the elevator needed a room key to get on in lobby. We were refunded $100 but that seemed very insufficient as my husband slept in filth and how much of a health issue that was! I will not stay there again.
Excellent front desk personnel! Very helpful and professional! Will stay here again!!! Easy access to freeway. Highly recommended… bedding excellent and room very clean… …breakfast was not bad… easy check-in
Can I say WOW to this hotel staff? I applaud them how they handle these crowds of people. Breakfast has a great selection of food items and quite a large room of tables to accommodate. Also, the staff was very consistent in keeping the food stocked and the tables wiped clean. After having an issue in the room, the front desk sent up a maintenance man within 5-10 min of my call. I am VERY impressed with how this hotel is being run. The room was large and clean, yes getting a bit old, but not an issue for me. The roads to get to the hotel are kind of confusing, but that's San Diego for you!
We were so happy with our recent stay! Checking in was quick and easy, great directions were provided to our room, charges were well explained and the staff was friendly. Our room was clean, beds comfy and the water in the shower was hot! After the second night we requested housekeeping to tidy the room and it was done quickly while we were away.
Everything was great! Only wish I could've checked in earlier. Breakfast was good and staff was cheerful and polite. This hotel was conveniently located for all of the attractions we wanted to see on our vacation.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. It's right next to the freeway, so there is noise from that. There was a long line to get the free breakfast on Saturday morning, so we left. On Saturday night when we returned to the hotel, there was no place to park, so we had to park on the street. We were charged $23 a night for parking, which I thought was high. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling in the shower in our room #227. The hotel is rundown and shows it's age. I would not stay here again.
Staff was very friendly and facility was very clean. Andrew Cooper the general manager is often seen around the property cleaning and taking care of guests and making sure all is in order and everyone is happy; something that is rarely seen by a person of his position. Great experience, would stay here again.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is showing some age, but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. I would stay here again. We felt very safe. They really need to change the phone message. It says the wrong hotel chain.
I slept well no noise. The staff was wonderful The food was great. I would love to stay at this location again in the future. The parking was ok. The rooms was cleaned very well didn't have s smell. Over all it was great thank you.
This hotel is centrally located and is really clean. The staff went over and above to accommodate us. The breakfast is always a favorite of the kids! This is the second time we have stayed here. It is relatively close to the freeway and shopping.
The beds were amazing and the duvets were like soft clouds. Breakfast was a great way to get us started for the day and the kids loved making their own waffles. The pool and spa were clean and tidy with towels available. We used the laundry and had no issues at all. Providing you have a car, you can get straight on to the highway to go anywhere. Getting around San Diego was easy. It was a $16 Uber from the USS Aircraft Carrrier back to the hotel, which I thought was decent. Thanks for having us.
Nice room. A/C and refrigerator worked great. Bathtub was longer than in most hotels, so I enjoyed a relaxing bath. Decent water pressure. Excellent, helpful staff! The free breakfast was amazing. Best waffles we'd had in a long time. They offered regular and sugar-free syrup. Great coffee. Only problem was the soggy beds. Had to sleep right in the center where it was firm. We will stay here again.
My kids and I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Comfort Suites. The location was perfect. I would recommend staying in a room on the pool side as opposed to the freeway side. Very worthwhile and great location for San Diego activities.
The front desk staff was amazing very kind and easy going. Ashely (front desk agent) that help me mention my reward statues and offer 2 free water bottles Thank you so much. Room was clean & quiet. We will be visiting again soon!
Front reception clerk Amber was outstanding…so friendly, welcoming and receptive to our needs. She referred to us as “the sisters” and, while working her 12 hour shifts kept an eye out for us and was so helpful with suggestions. She was definitely a positive “face of Best Western”
It's a nice place, comfortable. The area has absolutely nothing around it so prepare to need to drive steady 15-20 minutes to get to anything like food/shopping. But the hotel itself served its purpose and was worth what I paid for it.
We stayed in a suite for 2 nights with an extended late check out and honestly we expected more than what we got their was no toothbrush no toothpaste like all other hotels we stayed at. The breakfast was the same repeated food and the toilet had issues aswell as the shower the water would not go down. The coffee maker was broken and water went everywhere when operating. How ever the front desk girls were amazing and very sweet forgot to get all their names. We tried to make the best of our stay but prolly won't be going back.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The manager was exceptionally kind and made our stay truly memorable. He greeted us with a warm welcome and went out of his way to ensure that all our needs were met. The location of the hotel was also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and downtown. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredibly comfortable beds!
I love the bunk bed, this place is perfect for large families with kids. However, it's a motel, that's old, has some maintenance issues. But the location and the bunk beds make it a good value. The staff are all really nice and the place is busy.
Nice Hotel, clean and updated design. Was a shocker being Best Western and all. King bed was comfortable, pillows were a bit undersized for a king bed and very flat but doable. Overall a good overnight stay passing through town.
Our stay was great. The rooms were well taken care of each day. The food was good at breakfast. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. My only con was the stairwells are way too dark. They need more lighting. It was a bit dangerous at times. Please consider adding more lighting. That is my only downside to this visit.
The service at the front desk was very low and they didn't have the intentions to solve our problems in our stay, there was not ice in almost any floor and the breakfast was insufficent about the chairs and the table.
Clean hotel with a great continental breakfast not too far from the beach, downtown and the zoo. Staff was friendly and thankful to have housekeeping clean the room daily. (A must when traveling with kids)
Is super clean everything we don't have to ask to clean they just clean the room and put more towels, breakfast is super good, my family enjoy been here I love be there. Just the first day reception lady didn't explain me everything but in the check out the new lady explained me with details I get more relief, I feel so happy to stay here I will do it again for my next vacation.
Very quiet and comfortable stay, centrally located to lots of attractions and restaurants including shopping, Old Town with lots of restaurants Downtown Gaslamp Quartier, Little Italy, SD Zoo, SeaWorld, Petco Park, the Harbor, airport n beaches
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodations. King/Bunkbeds combo was definitely kid approved. Included breakfast was good. Downside: we had to hook-up the cable TV that someone previously disconnected (likely not part of the normal turn-over checks). The elevator was broken; another guest was nice enough to show us how to re-set the door manually so that it would close/move. Day two, the elevator gave out all together. All-in-all, positive experience.
Very nicely upgraded. Good location. Easy freeway access. Not walking distance to restaurants but many not too far away. Only bad issue was that we stayed two nights and did not have our room cleaned after the first night.
I'm not a review writer but I feel this one is necessary to save you from a less than desirable experience. Check in; 30 min wait at 10:30 pm Hot tub dirty, cloudy No hot water for shower Breakfast was overcrowded, no seating, picked over Thought I'd book this based on proximity to sea world & price with kids (bunk room)... spend the money on a high rated place! This one was a disappointment. I will never be staying at a BW again.
Nice place, very centrally located. My only complaints are that the fitness center is microscopically small, the front desk was often inadequately staffed, and the breakfast area was pretty much overwhelmed by 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning.
Front desk staff was friendly. Housekeeping was great. Breakfast was popular and busy but the lines went fast and everything was restocked constantly with no issues. Hotel was recently remodeled to give a more modern day feel. We had a king suite with bunk beds for the kids and it worked great.
We were impressed by the “Morning Manager” and how much he cleaned the breakfast room, Even though he was wearing his Suit and used gloves all the time. Sweeping and picking up trash and food and wiping tables and chairs. We never saw a manager who works so diligently He has a humble heart ❤️ I'm giving him a 100 percent and five stars review he deserved it.
Room size was good. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was good although very busy and often had non guests in attendance. Struggled for fresh towels, often having to request them multiple times before receiving them.
I love staying at this location. Its a good convenient location near everything in the heart of San Diego. The Beds are very comfortable , I visited with my 2 young daughters and felt safe. The breakfast and breakfast room is very spacious. Lots of hot and cold food items. The pool and Spa is great, towels are provided, the pool is also heated so that's a plus. Love staying here and will come back.
Close to MCRD, nice property and awesome staff. The beds were so comfortable. Only downfall was the parking was really tight and longer vehicles should park on the street or have a separate area. Other than that it was a great experience. Would stay here again.
Clean rooms and beds. Nothing spectacular but also no issues. Breakfast was decent and plentiful. Staff was very friendly but expect a little wait if you go to the front desk. As I mentioned this is no fancy place but if you are looking for a reasonable family spot in the SD area, this is a good choice. Area is so/so but the hotel felt safe. Right next to the freeway so convenient as well.
Stayed with family for a child's birthday and Amber and Jessica decorated the room and made our daughter feel very special. Amber was so responsive to our needs and made sure to follow up with us days prior to our arrival. She made the trip very easy and we truly appreciated all of her hard work.
Host were very nice and would immediately take care of any issues you may have. The room was clean and the bathroom as well. Had to ask for room service due to them only doing it every two to three days again which was no problem. Was located in a very good area with lots of things to see and do. The price was definitely reasonable during this time of the year. Others were asking way to much. Enjoyed my stay.
Great location within 10-15 minutes of the airport, convention center and SeaWorld. Very clean hotel. The front desk girls were real professionals...they got you checked in fast. The Remy restaurant located right behind the hotel is is 5-star in my opinion. Pool and grounds were regularly cleaned and maintained. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, waffles, yogurt, cereal and more! You won't need to go anywhere for breakfast, which can be a big money saver for a traveling family. This is going to be my go to San Diego hotel.
I had a good time and felt safe. I want to take a moment to acknowledge a very committed worker there. Her name is Pauola? She was all over the place. From the moment I arrived, I passed by the laundry window and caught her working solo. My family and I decided to go for a late around 9-10pm after a long day. We took our room towels as instinct because it's late in the night and from our experience, there will be no towels in the pool area and we were right. But to our surprise, she must have seen us, because she came out moments later and brought us some towels and put extra ones in the cart for anyone who might decide to come out to swim. After washing up, I called to ask for extra room towels and at the door was the one and only, Pauola again. I swear maybe she had a twin. We decided to stay in and give the pantry a visit, however, the member stocking the pantry accidentally spilled a glass container drink and it came crashing all over the floor. She knew the safety of the guests and workers and called for a clean up right away. Here comes Pauola once again and I observed them working together to clean up the mess and Pauola sweeping up glass and surrounding areas they thought glass might have spread to. I observed Pauola and I can say she is a very hard worker and very attentive. She never made any distasteful facial expressions when having to clean up a spill or thought twice about bringing extra towels to guests when the pool is about to close because I can honestly say, a lot of hotels would never do this as the pool is almost closing and members will rarely bring out towels unless asked. She did that as if we were her family and that is how she wishes her family would be treated while staying at a hotel. She did it with a smile and that is not something I see in a lot of hotels that I have stayed. God bless her energy because to have to run up and down floors and maintain customer expectations for the hotel, is a lot of work. you can't satisfy everyone but she does her best and goes the extra mile to represent the establishment she works at.
Excellent stay even though the hotel was fully booked for Comic-Con. We stayed gratis on Best Western Rewards points and were treated no less than fully paying guests. In fact, as BW Rewards members they rolled out the red carpet for us and everyone from the Manager Andrew and front desk staff (whose names I cannot remember all of them) and security and housekeeping went above and beyond to assist us as we are disabled. We will not hesitate to stay there again. One of the finest Best Western properties we have ever visited.
The hotel had two small elevators that took forever. There was only one receptionist checking in and checking out people, which, took forever. However, the complimentary breakfast was great but there were not enough tables to sit and eat.
Rooms were clean..Breakfast was Amazing..only issues..no clock in rooms and No USB outlets..in this day and age that's ridiculous!..Have stayed in a few hotels this year and they All had usb outlets usually in the lamps base!
The room we stayed in needed bathroom repairs, we thought the rooms were renovated according to the advertisement, but they weren't recently renovated or ours got missed. The bunk beds are cool for the kids and our family of six were accommodated, but we had four young kids. The doubles were full size, and the bunks were twins. Breakfast included in the price, but not parking, they charge that in addition to the room. The breakfast was decent, but the coffee was a disappointment, it tasted watered down and weak. We stayed three nights, and each day was the same experience. I'm not sure why they use heavy blankets in July, waking up drenched in sweat isn't a good feeling with the A/C blowing.
Nice Clean hotel, checked in really late at night, but they still managed to accomodate me with parking. Pleasant staff the only con was the elevator, it gets stuck at times. so i took the stairs instead.
Roger and his team in the restaurant were AMAZING. Nothing was too much and they went out of their way to make our stay brilliant.Thank you Roger, Barrett & the staff. Mission Bay is a brilliant place
The breakfast is great!! This hotel is centrally located and is within 10 min to Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, Old Town, lots of restaurants, San Diego LDS Temple, and 20 min to the beach. The hotel pool and hot tub were great. My kids said that it is their favorite Best Western. That being said, if you use the stairwells instead of elevators, beware of the weird smell in the stairwells).
