Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel

Located on N. Harbor Drive - it's conveniently located for a straight drive into the city, airport and main attractions. Clean, spacious rooms, inviting lobby and common spaces, small outdoor pool and hot tub, many rooms with balconies. Free parking - which can add $10-30 a day to the cost of hotels closer to the city. Excellent buffet breakfast with daily 4 hot items, 6-8 cereal choices, pancake machine, 3-4 juice options, breads, bagels, pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit, etc. Breakfast room busy but well staffed- so tables cleaned immediately, food replenished quickly, option to eat poolside. Highly recommend.

I chose this hotel because it had free parking and breakfast which is hard to find in San Diego. I'm not sure I'd stay here again though if I'm honest. We had a family room which was quite small in comparison to previous hotels we stayed at during this trip. Not alot of space for our luggage, bathroom area small so there was nowhere to leave toiletry bags etc. The room was clean but very dated and felt very old and worn. The sliding door to the balcony was dodgy, so almost fell out when we tried to open it. The toilet flush was very temperamental - my husband had to fix it several times over the 3 days we stayed. The air conditioning only blew out warm air…. If any at all! Despite making all the right noises! With 4 people and outside temps of 24 degrees it got really warm in the room. Yet the corridor outside the room was really cold at night as there were slats missing from the window next to the door to our room! We reported all of this to staff but they didn't seem interested and just thanked me for reporting it! The hotel is not on the trolley route so I think having a car is essential for getting around SD from here. The airport is very close by so you do hear some traffic from that… that wasn't an issue but every morning at 7.30 am there were fighter jets taking off which were insanely loud!! Not sure if it's an every day occurrence or we were just unlucky during our stay. Then at 8am the National anthem plays really loudly, I'm guessing from the naval base, so don't expect to sleep past 8am if you stay here! The hot tub and pool area looked nice and not busy but we didn't get time to use these unfortunately. Breakfast is good, hot and cold options which are kept well stocked up and there are ice machines and vending machines on most floors. The dining room is quite small though, it only has about 16 tables so did get quite busy despite the hotel being quiet. There is extra seating outside by the pool which some people used but not ideal in bad weather. We enjoyed our time in San Diego, it's a gorgeous city but next time I'm stay elsewhere. The hotel in general is overpriced for the quality.

Budget hotel with great space, and in a great location. Whilst the hotel maybe budget and basic. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff on reception were so helpful and friendly. The location is great too and San Diego is a perfect city to visit. Wish we had stayed longer and wouldn't hesitate in using this hotel again.

Great location close to all of our Places we wanted to see would stay here again. Parking was free at hotel good choices for breakfast. Room was very clean. Friendly staff minimal road noise. Pool and hot tub clean.

We have stayed here a few times before a cruise, i like the convenience to the port, and dining options nearby, there is some Military Airtraffic noise, but it is over by 11:00 pm. They're breakfast is typical BW fair, but there are numerous restaurants nearby for a change.

Enjoyed having a room on the top floor with a beautiful view and a door opening onto a balcony. Lovely fresh air. Great location. Loved the free parking. Loved the location near the Harbor. Handy to local military base and eating/shopping areas, You really need a car to get around..

We paid for a harbor/yacht view room and got a street and building front view (room 311.) Anything above 4th floor and up has views for the same price. This room was also next to the elevator equipment so sleeping was problematic. I had requested a high room because the only other time I stayed in this hotel, years ago w/different owners, I didn't get the room I paid for then either. The television is 30” maybe less. Not ideal for two queen size beds to view. The two rating is because free parking was included, which may be the only positive thing. Actually, that's not true. Had the freezer worked on the in room refrigerator and our stuff not thawed would've been positive. The staff was nice and it's rarely their decision about policies. I didn't realize the were other most likely better options nearby so that's on me. I used BW members program and request was ignored despite being told they only honor requests made through their website not booking.com, etc. which, again, I did.

Hotel needs updating of rooms. Room was not clean.Help at desk was very good. Poor pick up service at port with free shuttle. Seven people the very last people in the port before the shuttle arrived. Everyone else had left. Standing there for almost two hours.

Our stay here was great. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was nice and clean with a good view of the harbor. The free breakfast was fresh, well-stocked, and delicious. At one point our tub drain clogged. After alerting the staff a kind repairman immediately came and fixed it. Super impressed!

I stayed at this hotel prior to taking a cruise. I booked this hotel because it is close to the pier and they have a free shuttle to the pier. The room I was assigned was on the first floor. It is considered an accessible room. The room was outdated and smelled moldy. It was very noisy because it was close to the laundry. I asked to have my room changed but was told that if I changed the only room I could be given was another accessible room which was next to the room I was in and closer to the laundry. That room was worse. I was told that I could not have any other room because an accessible room was what I booked. If that is what I did that was a mistake as I have no need for an accessible room. Further if someone needs an accessible room I don't believe that they should be put in a substandard room and get treated like a second class citizen. Luckily, I was only there for one night because I could not spend another night in that room.

Very good best western at walking distance from a number of very nice restaurants. VERY good complimentary breakfast. Micro wave, fridge and coffee machine in the room. We had a nice clean room with a balcony. VERY friendly and helpfull staff. Plenty of free covered parking. Close to the harbor and the zoo, only 15 minutes by car. Close to the airportn 10 minutes by car.

This place will allow you to leave your car there for a week for free, You can leave it longer than a week for just $5 per day. They also will shuttle you to the pier for free. This makes it the perfect hotel to stay in if you are driving to San Diego for your cruise. The rooms are very nice and they have a decent breakfast too.

The hotel is in a great location with lots of restaurants nearby, with easy access to the rest of the city. The breakfast was perfectly satisfactory and the staff were really helpful. The rooms was in need of a bit of a refresh but was comfortable and well sized.

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel is great. We had great view of DT San D. Breakfast options were good. The entire family really enjoyed their stay. Very nice pool and hot tub. We would definitely choose to stay here in future visits. Conveniently located to Sea World and the Zoo and the interstate.

Parking is included with your stay which is hard to find in San Diego! Also the parking lot is covered, but spacious with plenty of spots available. Really had a nice time here. Thank you so much!

The view from the room was great! The pool and hot tub seemed fine though we never got in them. The bed was worn and you could feel the springs. The sink backed up and had a sewer smell coming from it. Went to dinner and when we came back we were told it was fixed ran some water in it and it seemed fine. When we woke the next morning it was not. I tried to turn on the shower and got nothing. I was told i didnt pull hard enough on the handle. It smelled so bad we just packed up and left.

I've stayed here three times now, it's a very convenient location with free ample parking, nice views, decent breakfast, and good pricing. Nothing fancy, but better than a motel. Highly recommended. The beds are a bit squeaky.

This hotel wasn't expected to be such a great find. The workers were very pleasant and helpful. Everyone we saw from front staff to housekeeping always greeted us with a smile and hello. The complimentary breakfast was a full breakfast, and it was great, way beyond the usual pre-packaged continental breakfast. You wont' be disappointed to stay here.

This is a perfect location in the San Diego area. It is easy to get to - they have plenty of free parking and it is within walking distance of several fine restaurants. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the rooms are large and very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay.

Great location across from harbor!! We enjoyed our balcony on 6th floor with amazing views! Maroni AKA macaroni with cheese! He is a wonderful asset to front desk!!!! Great personality, recommendations, & always greeted with a big smile! All front desk, manager, housekeeping are wonderful! Great little pool & hot tub, & fitness room. Free breakfast & Wi-Fi. Great restaurants & weather. This is a hotel not a resort referring to some bad reviews. Hotel is great!

Horrible breakfast , good staff but very basic hotel , ropey and needs to updated, wouldn't recommend this hotel for families, quite uncomfortable beds no safe in rooms so had to give it to the lobby safe , one bonus is the carpark is free and can take bigger cars

When the only problems were low water pressure in bathroom sink and jiggle the handle on toilet for flapper to seal- You still get a 10 cause the room was great ,balcony and view were fantastic , pool and hot tub were good and breakfast and the staff was awesome. You get a 10

We enjoyed our one night stay at this clean, comfortable hotel across from the marina. Staff was great…especially Maroni who honored our request for an upstairs room and gave us a good meal recommendation.

The hotel is fine. You get what you pay for. There's nothing exceptional at this hotel. The pool is small, the food is hard, but the choices are limited, the Internet met our basic needs but was slow. The air conditioner in the room was pretty loud, and I never felt like the room was cold enough.

Staff was so so kind and welcoming. They made our stay great. The location was great too it was walking distance to lots of fun places. There's a donut place open 24/7 just a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Pool and hot tub were pretty clean and peaceful.

Everything was as expected. Friendly staff, prompt check in, large breakfast selection. The location was perfect. We were within 5 miles of everything we did in a week with the exception of Legoland which was only 30 miles away. We will definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff are helpful/friendly and the breakfast was very good. Parking is free. Rooms are definitely dated/worn, which makes them seem not quite clean. Seemed more like a 1.5 star motel. Proximity to the airport and navy base results in a good bit of aircraft noise (luckily SAN doesn't allow planes to fly during certain hours overnight).

Great location near the airport and across from the San Diego Yacht Harbor and Point Loma Seafood restaurant. I came to San Diego for a family reunion in Encinitas and because of an early flight, stayed at Best Western Yacht Harbor hotel near the airport. The room was very clean and front desk service great

We stayed at 5 different hotels during our stay in San Deigo and this Best Western was by far our favorite!! Staff was amazing and the breakfast was very nice. We will stay there again when we return for our next visit!

Good place to stay since it included breakfast. Breakfast could be better if they serve real eggs and perhaps more meat options each day, waffle and oatmeal. The rooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The front desk guy at checked in was a snob but everyone else was warm and welcoming throughout our stay.

Very nice staff, clean room good internet. The location is good and they will help you when you need something. Perfect for a stay in San Diego. I definitely recommend this hotel for everyone I would come back

The staff here is AMAZING - everyone we encountered really seemed to enjoy their job!! Our room was on the top floor - GREAT views, but a little noisy with a compressor (?) on the roof. This was our first stay, but we will DEFINITELY stay here again!!

For the price, we felt this hotel was a good stay. Great staff, clean hotel, decent breakfast. And the location made touring around San Diego pretty easy. The only issue was a lumpy mattress. So the sleep quality wasn't the best. Other than that, would recommend.

I had no complaints about this hotel. Everyone was nice as was the area and rooms. The rooms were clean and up to date. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. Free parking was available which was very nice. Definitely staying here again! Only thing was if you do pay at property , they actually charge you 1-2 days before or half and half. Thursday they charged me $109, I called and they said I'd pay the rest in person, but Friday came around and they charged me. I did not check in until Saturday. I called and they explained. I found no other charges on my card so everything was fine. Definitely would stay here again.

Good location next to the fishing harbor and several waterfront restaurants, including two good seafood restaurants within easy walking distance. Nice view of the commercial fishing harbor and marina, and close to the airport.

We stayed here before and after a disney cruise with a large group. The rooms are ok, the breakfast is good, transportation to Port was great. Marisol the front desk clerk was amazing, she was incredibly helpful and responsive BW is lucky to have her working for them.

The hotel could use some updating. There no elevator or ramp access from the parking garages which could get crowded at time. Breakfast was very good in my opinion, but again could get crowded. The bathroom was on the small side. It's an older hotel......period!

Hotel was ok except the mattress in my room was worn out and saggy and uneven. If I had known it was so bad earlier in the evening, I would have asked to change rooms. But it was late an i was only there one night, so I just put up with it. When I checked in, the desk staff appeared unengaged.

From the Check-In staff to the breakfast servers in charge, everyone on point. The hotel personnel overall was very cordial and their concern and friendliness made it just perfect. I'll come back to them on my next trip to San Diego.

Good central hotel to stay at when visiting San Diego. Stayed 2 nights. First room was at the front of the hotel with a harbour view. This was great. The downside is you get a lot of noise from the traffic out front and as the glass is single glazed…not much sleep. Moved to another room for 2nd night. This was a lot quieter. Unfortunately the heater in the room only blew out ice cold air which we didn't realise until we were in bed.Not much sleep this night either. Reported it to reception in the morning and they gave us a $25 gift card as compensation.

Our stay at the Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel started out a bit rocky. We arrived very late and landed in a dark ground floor room with just one double bed. An uncomfortable night, for sure! The next morning, Marisol graciously moved us upstairs to a room with two queens, and then gave us a gift card to enjoy a lovely lunch across the street along the harbor. We so appreciated that! Lovely service, friendly staff. Thank you BWYHH!

Stayed on the 2nd floor in front of parking lot. Cars were parked right in front of the window, so we could not open the curtains. We suffered from noise and lights all night and felt exposed to danger. It wasn't safe at all. I've been to many cities, but none of the rooms were as bad as this hotel. 우리가 외국인 손님이라 그런지 2층방을 주더군요. 말그대로 주차장 바로 앞이고요. 창문열면 그냥 바로 주차장 걸어나갈 수 있습니다. 창문깨고 강도라도 들어오면 다 죽는거예요. 밤새 거의 못잤고 방은 너무 오래돼서 히터에서 냄새가 많이 났습니다. 다시는 가고 싶지 않은 곳이었어요. 다른 호텔 추천합니다. 덧붙여 스태프들도 너무 퉁명스러웠어요. 미국인 손님한테는 할로윈 쵸콜렛 나눠주고 난리남 ㅋ

My husband and some employees stayed at the hotel in September 2022 on a business trip. Upon his return, he realized he hadn't gotten printed receipts. I was able to contact the hotel staff more than a month later. and easily got the print outs I appreciated the speed and courtesy I was given.

Megan and the other front desk people were absolutly amazing. Hotel was clean, hottub and pool worked great. Breakfast was good, the harbor views were very nice, especially in the evening when you sit out on the deck.

Clean, comfortable room. Great view from the 5th floor. Harbor view side has traffic and boat noise if you are a light sleeper. Traffic was quiet from about 10pm to 5am, fishing boats head out predawn for a short time, it was basically white noise for us. Friendly, helpful employees. Housekeeping did a fantastic job. Breakfast was good, typical for this hotel.

Very disappointed that you would give us a room below a room you were replacing carpet/flooring in and also moving furniture above us...went on for over two hours...called the front desk...they called the room and found out the workers were renovating(obviously lack of communication)....told me they would be done around 5 pm... Next morning 735 am...it starts again...overall poor experience...expected more from a Best Western, That said, overall hotel was clean, breakfast was good

We stayed here for 5 nights and the staff were more than helpful and we came back every night to a clean room and woke up every morning to breakfast ready for us. The staff went out of their way to help us as we were here on vacation and not sure what there was to do or good places to eat.

Check in was fast. I forgot a toothbrush and staff provided me one. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked as expected. The breakfast had a nice variety of options Overall a nice experience and walking distance to decent foss options.

Everything was excellent but one thing i did not like was only one mirror by the sink thats it no more by the wall where the beds where at .It took us for ever to get ready and not many outlets to plug in our stuff .

When you arrive at the Yacht Harbor Best Western, Marisol will be at the front desk to greet you. She's wonderful! She's always smiling and friendly. She will go out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect.

Fantastic family stay, the rooms are a great size, lots of space for 4 adults. Staff were fantastic and they answered all questions very quickly. Breakfast was great, a good variety and plenty of seating. We loved the fact you could also use there self service laundry which when you are travelling round is extremely helpful. We found this hotel quiet and tidy, the pool was lovely and a great supply of pool towels and seating. Ample parking. This was our second stay and we will be back.

We loved this place. The location was close to the activities we had planned. All of the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations of local restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the place of clean.

Came in on a Friday and left the following Monday. Only had the three days and managed to fit the main attractions into our time there. The staff were very helpful in recommendations on the best and quickest ways to get to our destinations and on places to eat. Room was very clean, a nice balcony off of every room, and comfortable beds. Full breakfast was included and satisfactory. First trip to San Diego cannot wait to go back and will stay in the same hotel.

We stayed in room 511...had a great view of the harbor and the room was appointed with a queen and king size bed. The balcony overlooks the pool and we spent a few hours gazing out at the beautiful view after swimming at night and the next morning! Anka (THANK YOU!!!) added the icing to our stay by prepping the room with some kids toys, gifts and ammenities. Marisol at the front desk was very courteous and helpful during checkout. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was on top of making sure we had everything we needed. The free breakfast the next morning was a hit, and the staff made sure I even had a box to carry some food to the room as they were closing up at 930am. Overall, the hotel was clean, organized and the staff was very helpful and nice. Thank you for a perfect stay! We will be back!

First thing, I used the restroom and there was a roach in the shower. Had to get rid of that POS right away. The room was really warm and had to turn down the AC. They should at least turn down the AC to cool the room off a little. The air was slightly blowing out, need to change the filters more often!! Don't forget the pest control!! Continental breakfast was your typical breakfast, nothing fancy. I don't complain about rooms, but this motel didn't feel comfortable. My choice, but I won't stay at this location again.

The view is to die for!!! Absolutely loved watching the boats coming in and out and the planes it was beautiful. The rooms are great the ac is okay at night. The breakfast was amazing. The staff was incredibly nice and so helpful too.

It was a very nice room. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. We were unhappy with the noise from the air conditioner. The breakfast buffet was very good and had wide assortment of different foods (including hot foods).

I was told about how nice this hotel was with the harbor view for the price. I may have had a booking snafu and ended up with a view of a parking lot with a dumpster. They let me out of my reservation so I could find the view I wanted for my mini vacation. I would definitely try to book again, just make sure I specify Harbor View.

I booked through Expedia and someone cancelled my reservation. Expedia and the hotel both blamed each other. Although there was availability, hotel said I had to pay roughly twice as much as I booked months earlier. No help talking to anyone and desk and gm were rude and offered no help. Avoid

We stayed here one night and, later the next day after checking out, I started to feel itchy bites all over my neck, under my arm and on my torso. I even have one on my brow bone! I slept in my own bed while my daughter slept in another bed. There were no mosquitos on this trip and we never went to the beach, so it wasn't sand fleas. These are classic bed bug bites if you Google it. Be warned. I hope they didn't hitch a ride in our luggage.

We really did love this hotel. The location is absolutely prime to go anywhere in San Diego. The only knock would be the beds and could definitely use a laundry facility. Would definitely stay again just based on location. Really wish they would consider going to memory foam mattresses. Those old spring mattresses are pretty awful.

This was our first vacation in 2.5 years.....COVID, you know!!! And San Diego is perfection.....paradise!!!! This hotel met all of our expectations! The location was perfect, so close to everything we wanted to visit. As other reviews had stated the hotel is a bit dated, but that was no problem. We had everythng we needed. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff kept everything up to snuff, with smiles to boot! The desk staff was exceptional......experienced and helpful in every way. They greeted us every time we passed the desk....with smiles and care. The breakfast service was very good, with plenty to choose from. The ladies who cared for the meal were friendly and helpful. We are already planning our visit in 2023!!! And, will definitely stay at BW Yacht Harbor!!!!

Staff was great and the breakfast was more than I expected. The location was amazing. The price for the room was better than I thought for the view of the Marina. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Because this property was pretty inexpensive we didn't have any real expectations, so, the good surprise. Good size room, good bed, lots of indoor parking. Staff very attentive. Perhaps the only problem was the bathroom area, quite compact. Too, the breakfast shouldn't be the reason to check in here, breakfast room small and noisy, we took our food up to our room.

Hotel was clean in every room , the beds were comfortable, rooms were very quiet, plenty of free covered parking, easy in and out of the facility All employees greeted you with a smile. Breakfast was a good verity.

Our room was on the top floor with an ocean view and a balcony! The elevator was always available. The room was clean and efficient. The hotel was just a short walk to the sailing and fishing docks, and several very nice restaurants. The hotel was on Harbor Dr., so with a car, there was easy access to the beaches (10 min) , the airport (15 min), Gas Lamp District (20 Min), Midway museum (12 min). We only had to get on the freeway once. This hotel is an excellent choice if you want to do touristy, and beach activities.

The worst experience in my many years of travel. Precooked but they put me in a room with construction (loud banging) directly overhead. Manager said simply “too bad” work would continue; one day until 10pm.

We stayed here to catch a somewhat early flight with kids. It's a no frill hotel with all that you need. We got a wheelchair acessible room, so it was very spacious. The only thing we had a issue with is the shower flow as it was very soft stream. The breakfast was very good with 5 hot items (sauasage, egg, hashrown, french toast and made to order pancake machine), and tons of other things like fruits, bread/pastries, yogurt, cereal etc. Overall a great layover hotel for sure. Also they had free covered parking.

Wow. Free and secure parking, close to downtown, Balboa Park, beaches and the harbor. Having a balcony overlooking the yacht harbor was great. On my next visit I'll certainly save time for enjoying the pool & hot tube which looked really nice.

Considering the location of the property and the amenities available (pool, hot tub, fitness center, breakfast, parking,) this hotel is by far the best value in the area. We had a bit of a delay getting into our room at check-in, but everything was smooth after that. Staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable (thanks for the local restaurant recommendations, Dan!) The building is obviously a bit older, but the interior updates are nice and our room and the common areas were always clean. It was lovely to have a balcony and to open the door for fresh air throughout the trip. I would definitely stay here again.

I had wonderful weekend. My room was end room and it was very lovely. When I check-in the service was exllnent the young man at t eh desk was nice . I was talking about place I was going to have dinner he gave me free coupon to Ketch grill and Tap .May I say the king size bed was wonderful. love the hot tub.

My wife and three members of her family stayed one night at this venue. When they turned down one of the beds, the sheets were stained. Instead of housekeeping remaking the beds, they were given a smaller room. The purpose of the trip was to attend a funeral.

This hotel was very close to the San Diego airport and easy to find, even at night. Parking was easy but a little bit to get bags to the doors with all steps. Overall it was a nice place, clean and quiet.

Nice room, but reeks of stale smoke. Comfortable bed, right across from a favorite restaurant, and 1/2 mile walk to a nice shopping area. I don't know if the stale smoke is from the olden days when all hotels were smoking hotels, or if guests just sneak a smoke now and then. But I did sneeze quite a bit entering the room. And my neighbor was smoking on his balcony, so I had to shut the window. Of course, if you are already a smoker, you won't mind this.

the carpet was super dirty. this fact taken into consideration surpassed any positive points the hotel had to offer the carpet was filthy, gross and unbelievable dirty..... my experience at this hotel was terrible because of the dirty carpet.

Hotel is not easily accessible via public transport. No buses run at the weekend and finish by about 6pm week days. The hotel is poorly sound insulated. We had a king with harbor balcony. The noise from the road and car park drowned out even the TV. The room was spacious. Decor was shabby. Smell of urine unbearable. We asked for the room to be cleaned while we were out the next day - nothing had been done to improve the smell and the bed had not been made. Asked to move to another room and made to feel like the most difficult people in the world! New room smelled better but the toilet didn't stop flowing with water and wouldn't flush properly. Came back a couple of days later to a room partly made up. When I called through to the front desk I was told to go down and they would give me the bits needed. I had to follow the staff member around to the various store rooms to collect towels, coffee etc. I returned the dirty cleaning cloth which had been left in our room. Again, made to feel like the most difficult person in the world. Breakfast is self service with plastic cutlery and paper plates. Guests even have to clear their own tables! One lady working very hard to replenish the dishes. The internet connection is intermittent. Given the inconvenient location and poor service, I would not bother again.

Best location, friendly staff, nice hotel! We have stayed at this location several times and are never disappointed. Across the street from a marina and numerous places for dinner and drinks. Short drive to Coronado Island, downtown San Diego and Sunset Cliffs!

This hotel was exactly as we hoped for and expected. Friendly staff, clean & comfortable room, and super close to the airport. We left really early, so did not have a chance to try the free breakfast. Will definitely use this hotel for future visits.

We chose rhis place for a one night stay before taking an early flight. Good location with a restruant or two opposite. The ac was not working as we were there only one night we reported it. But did not ask for it to be fixed. We had a room at the front and the road noise was considerable. Would stay again at a push but for one night only.

The hotel was very Clean, the staff was very efficient staff, courteous and see to your needs. It has good services, breakfast and internet. The location is also very accessible and it connects me to the places I want to visit

We stayed at this hotel two years ago and it was excellent and the people were very helpful. However in January 2022 it was not the same hotel. The room needed some work. Also the front desk people were full of excuses and were not helpful at all. The breakfast was nothing special. This hotel also did not provide any transportation to and from the airport or the cruise terminal. The front desk refused to help us get to the cruise terminal. There are better hotels in San Diego.

This hotel was clean but the noise level was hi .and the heating system was very noisy like the fan was ready to come thru the vent . It also took over 45 min to get the room they finally change our room to another .

This was a great place to stay. Close to restaurants, grocery stores an attractions. Very close to the I-8 and I-5 freeways! The pool looked nice and jacuzzi but didn't know to bring suits to use. Breakfast provided daily was nice-bagels, yogurt, hot and cold cereals, toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs-2 kinds, sausage patties, potatoes with juice and coffee. The 2 bed queen room was spacious with large refrigerator and microwave. Near Point Loma. I will definitely stay again!

This hotel is located in a great spot. Breakfast was filling. All of the staff were friendly and super helpful if we needed anything. The decor has been updated so that it's fairly modern looking but the building does need a little TLC. We had some issues with our AC unit not working properly and making loud noises and Wi-Fi didn't reach our room. The bathroom could have used a few repairs as well. But overall, for the price it was great and we enjoyed our week long stay.

The hotel was freezing cold and the thermostat did not work. The carpet was dingy and had visible dirt on it. The overall ambience was dark, drab and depressing. The room is quite small. There was no view of the harbor, as advertised, only the parking lot. Ugh!

On our recent stay at The Best Western Yacht Harbor, this past November, everything was as Tony the Tiger would say, it's Great! From Check-in to Check-out, everything at this hotel was perfect, clean room, excellent (complimentary) breakfast, free parking, and a great friendly staff. One of the General Managers, Chris Rosaguzman, made sure our stay was pleasant, by going above and beyond for his guests. Great location, too... a short walking distance to restaurants, a supermarket and more makes this hotel just perfect. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to San Diego. Overall Rating ~ Very Good!

First time at this hotel. For an older hotel, seemed well kept. Loved the balcony room facing the bay. Has a couple of food options across the street and a nice ( but crowded) hot breakfast. One suggestion. Get rid of the sofa pillows for big ones.

Just as titled, had a great stay. Room and hallway smelled and looked very clean. Great breakfast. Big room with balcony. Kind service. I would reccoment bringing your own pillow unless you like really tall stuffed pillows.

This hotel was great for our family during our vacation to multiple sites in the area! We did not feel comfortable going out at night around the hotel but it was nice during the day! Staff was very helpful and polite! Breakfast was amazing!

This has become our go to hotel for our short stops in San Diego. It's close to the airport, clean, quiet and staff is always friendly and efficient. Breakfast is good, rooms are comfortable and rates make this an excellent value.

Our stay was great for the price. The staff at the front desk were all very helpful and friendly! The breakfast is better than at most places with similar offerings. In general I would say it was a great stay. The only reason for 4 stars is the bathroom in the bedroom wasn't up to standards, the tub wouldn't drain properly and the toilet was leaking. Aside from that everything was great!

A lovely hotel right on Point Loma harbour, greeted heartily by Missy on arrival. We had a 5th floor room overlooking the harbour. All the rooms have balconies but you need to book a harbour view. There is a road outside which is busy during the day but didnt cause us to loose sleep. Breakfast was good & again the staff greeted us every morning. The room was comfortable and clean, plus you get free parking. It's about 10 mins drive to downtown San Diego but easy to do. Lots of lovely area to stroll. Do go to the zoo & Balboa park and the USS Midway.

Stayed for five nights for my wedding anniversary. The room was decent with a beautiful view of the harbor. However, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and we were given two thin blankets and two sheets to sleep with at night.

Our stay was good overall. The rooms are average. It was nice (but a little scary) to have a real breakfast serves. Service and cleanliness were above average. However, my wife accidentally left her Kindle in our room on checkout and it "never showed up" according to the staff. Honesty is not the best in our eyes.

I traveled to San Diego to celebrate my birthday. I chose this hotel initially because I've stayed at other Best Westerns and they are generally good value for the price. I'll list the good points first. The price is right for this hotel because it is directly across the street from the harbor and their are a lot of good places to eat within walking distance. They serve a good breakfast every morning. There is a heated pool and jacuzzi on the outside and an exercise room. There is plenty of free parking. The room I was in had a tub with low sides and a sturdy grab bar to get in and out of the tub. I really appreciated that because hotel bathrooms can be scary for me. The tub also had a full size rubber mat to avoid slip and falls. The bed was very firm and had plenty of pillows. Now for the things I didn't like. The furniture in the lobby was soiled and needs to be cleaned or replaced. The carpet in the rooms is horrendous and needs to be replaced ASAP. The hot items on the breakfast menu were cold and there was no way to warm them up. The toilet in our room didn't flush properly and we had to call twice for the maintenance man but they came right away. The staff at the hotel are courteous and helpful. Missy at the front desk is the best of the best and deserves a raise.

I am a local and came here for an affordable couples' 'staycation.' Chris and Dan at the front desk are always friendly and knowledgeable. The views and location are absolutely wonderful. My only real issue is that some of the furnishings should be updated. In multiple rooms, the beds have fallen apart a bit, and I noticed some minor plumbing and air conditioning issues that soured my stay a bit. Other than these minor issues, this place is a real gem! I always recommend it to friends and family, and head down here when I need a little break from the world. The staff is friendly but unobtrusive, and you get a warm welcome and a laid-back vibe. This is a popular spot for fisherman and travelers. It will always be one of my favorite hotels ( and I travel extensively when I can). Popping over to Jimmy's across the street for a dynamite hot chicken sandwich is a must. Kudos to the staff for maintaining composure and friendliness, and staying the course during Covid with proper safeguards and cleanliness. Thank you for all you do!

The staff was very friendly, especially the front desk staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was nice. A little close to the airport, but we really didn't hear any planes coming and going.

I needed a hotel room close to the harbor and this BW was across the street. The room wasn't ready yet at noon so our group had lunch across the street at Pt Loma Seafood. Checked in after lunch and got a room on the second floor along with the free parking pass. Note: there is outdoor parking above but there is also a covered garage below. Not much of a view from the room but I wasn't spending much time in the room anyway. The room was clean and had all the necessities and the king-sized bed was comfortable. There is also a balcony with chairs. They have a free continental breakfast 0600-0930 but our group wanted something more substantial. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would come back again.

I was shocked and amazed at how nice this place was. I did not expect it at all. The price was great and the room was very clean for a smoking room, which is what I needed. Only place I could find with smoking rooms in SD that was decent. Will definitely stay here again.

I love staying here! There's a great pizza place across the street and walking through the harbor is so relaxing. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the balcony is just what I need for a relaxing weekend stay.

We booked this hotel specifically because they claim to have shuttle service. Shuttle is not running! Nowhere does it state no shuttle available. We were there just over night. The hotel itself is fine but just be cautious when booking and needing shuttle. Check first!

I have stayed at several hotels in San Diego and this is the one you want to be at. It is so close to everything the rooms are perfect spic and span clean the entire property. Staff is probably the best in San Diego.

Perfect location for a fishing trip as the docs are across the street.very clean. Nice places to eat just around the corner. Lots to do all around you.and you can relax here. You feel very safe here. But you cant get better then room coffee be for 6 am.and unless you have kids the breakfast choices suck.

Don't book the room with the harbor view, it is more expensive, but actually the room is next to a very noisy road, even late at night there is a lot of traffic noise. Even worse is the air conditioner noise, humming all the night. I could hardly sleep at night. The worst night ever. I also found hairs on the towels.

Best Western Yacht Harbor is my home-away-from -home aka staycation. When I checked in, the manager Chris remembered me by name, and the desk staff Estela and Kat thanked me for being a Best Western Rewards member, and gave me a little snack and beverage kit, and a coupon for an appetizer at a local restaurant! It feels good to be recognized as a regular guest, and the rooms and pool never disappoint. The best thing about this location besides the staff is is the room rates. Because this hotel is at such a great location right across from the water, they could charge a lot more. But the hotel is generally affordable for most folks with a bonus of a great view, close to restaurants, Naval base, and the downtown Point Loma area. Thank you staff, for such a great stay!

The location and the service at this hotel is always consistent. The staff, room and facilities are always clean and neat. Parking has many different choices - from the side of the building, underground or aboveground.

This hotel is at the harbor, with balconies for a great view. It is not in the middle of everything and was both comfortable and fairly quiet. Breakfast was modified for COVID with both hot and cold options that were easily picked up in the breakfast room where there was also a choice of beverages.

Room was just right, comfortable, clean and fairly spacious. Area was walkable for some restaurants. Parking in the garage was very helpful, not usually available free, it was here. Staff were friendly at checkin and checkout.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel itself was very nice. The grab-and-go breakfast was not good, it was very low quality. Harbor Blvd outside was very loud at night, but the hotel itself was very quiet and felt safe. The exercise room and pool were very clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

I arrived at 2pm, and I knew that check-in is at 3pm. I politely asked the clerk in the front fesk for check in and she dizzed me. I mentuoned I am a Diamonf Member, and she wouldn't care, just told me to wait 45 minutes for check-in and didn't even bother providing help about my luggage. LAter on she left for her lunch break and didin't even notify the person in the next shift about me and other group of people waiting to do check-in. On top of this, even when I requested to please not be put close to the main street (I specifically paid for a side room to avoid the noise) I was put by the street. The printer in the business center didn't have any ink. Breakfast was poor. Internet extremely slow In general, I felt like the people working in cleaning and housekeeping in the hotel, roamed around all day without any care for guests and tended to block the way in the hallways, make excessive noise and always kept elevators busy.

We been coming to this BW since early 2000s during Comic Con. Nice location. Good restaurants across the street. Rooms are clean. Breakfast has changed due to covid but overall this is still a good location.

Lives up to its name, Best. Very Friendly staff, esp Front Desk. Clean rooms and everywhere else in the hotel. I hope they bring back the lobby fruit bowl just like before, and coffee, once this covid is over with.

We had a smoking room and it was very clean. The entire hotel was clean. I was impressed with this hotel for the price we paid. It is older but the interior is updated. This hotel has smoking rooms, free parking and free breakfast for a price that is lower than most in the area.

Great location close to deep sea fishing, boating, scuba diving etc... Several moderately and high priced restaurants near by. Short drive to major attractions like the San Diego Zoo, Old Town San Diego, Sea World, etc... Decent hotel...

When ever we fly out of San Diego we always book this hotel. Its 5 minutes to the airport and if we hae an early morning flight we'll we stay here the night before. They don't avertise it, but you can park your car at the hotel for 7 days (included in your hotel room) and if it needs to be longer its only $5 more per day.

My family was planning to stay in an Airbnb house while we visited San Diego, as there were 7 of us planning to come. For the last couple of years, I have preferred Airbnb over hotels due to their cleanliness and spaciousness. However, we decided to instead book 2 hotel rooms at Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel, as it was better-priced, but with a lot less room. I booked a room with harbor views, since the hotel was literally across the street from the harbor, and I was looking forward to views of the Pacific Ocean. When we arrived at the hotel at 3 pm, the earliest you can check in, we accidentally parked in the nearby Holiday Inn parking lot. Make sure not to make the same mistake; the Best Western parking lot is underground. The hotel does adhere to COVID guidelines, as all of the staff wore masks, the floor was marked for social distancing, and there were rules to how many people were allowed in the elevator. When we took the elevator up to our harbor view room on the 5th floor, we were shocked by the breathtaking beauty of our view. This view was no open-the-window-and-put-your-head-around-the-corner-to-see-a-glimpse-of-the-harbor harbor view. We had front row seats (on our balcony there were literally chairs) to a full-on view of the harbor, and it was spectacular! Our room had one queen bed, one king bed, a desk, two chairs, a TV, a microwave, and a pretty big mini-fridge. We also of course had hangers and a place to put our suitcases. The sink in the bathroom had a door between it and the toilet and shower/bath tub. Walking down to the pool, which could only be unlocked using a key card, we grabbed a towel from the stash of towels next to the pool and set it down on a tanning chair. Then, in our bathing suits but without our masks, we jumped into the pool. Five and a half feet deep at the deepest, the pool was fortunately slightly warmed. After waiting a while in the pool for our turn in the hot tub, which was only allowed to have one family group in it at a time, we also enjoyed the jets and warmth of the hot tub. When we came back up to our room to shower, we realized our room's floor was not very clean, as we had dirty footprints in the shower after walking around barefoot in our room. When we woke up the next morning in our king bed, which was comfortably firm, we went downstairs for the 6 to 9 am complimentary breakfast. Because of COVID, we had to bring our food in bags up to our room to eat. There were three choices for breakfast: children's, hot food, and cold food. Since our room had three people (the other four stayed in the other room), we chose to get one cold breakfast, which consisted of juice, coffee, yogurt, granola, a pastry, water, and fruit. For the other two people, we got hot breakfasts, which consisted of juice, coffee, a hot pocket/burrito (which we had to microwave), granola, water, and fruit. One of our apples was a little overripe and mushy while the banana was still green. Most of the food was pretty bland, but since it was free, we just ate it anyway. The hotel is conveniently located and not just relative to the harbor. The San Diego airport, SeaWorld, and Belmont Park are about 2, 4, and 5 miles away, respectively. In conclusion, Best Western Yacht Harbor is a great place to stay, location-wise, because of the value, but especially because of the harbor view. Just don't expect anything much better than a motel in cleanliness or quality.

Hotel was clean and room was clean. Shower had hot water. Pool and hot tub was empty. They served breakfast in a bag which was perfect! Hotel was quiet. I loved that they had balconies. The hotel itself was nicer than the customer service.

This little gem is my home away from home. I stay here a few times a year for special occasions, and to enjoy the pool, hub, and lovely harbor views from the balcony. Assistant manager Chris always goes out of his way to help guests and ensure a pleasant experience. He gave great suggestions on local eateries, and he is a gracious and professional presence at this location, in addition to being a great local resource. The new lobby decor looks great, the outdoor area is very nice and relaxing, and the provided "grab and go" breakfast is an added bonus! Housekeeping always does a fantastic job at this location. My only critique is that the beds/bed frames seem a bit lumpy and outdated. Once this is remedied, I feel this is a 5 star hotel for locals and travelers alike! Thank you, BW Yacht Harbor staff for making this such a pleasant, budget-friendly, and family-friendly place to relax and enjoy San Diego.

The room looked old, smelled bad, the cable of the tv stopped working, the ac system was either too cold or too warm, the water in the shower would get hot out of no where then cold. This hotel needs a renovation ASAP! It does not look like what is advertised online! On the plus side I appreciate the free parking and the free breakfast snacks. Thank you.

After several stays at other BW properties in the area, decided on this property due to the location, which is great if you are flying into San Diego and if you are going to frequent venues nearby. However, be prepared for alot of noise, both from other guests in the property and from the outside, i.e., road noise, planes, etc. Not the fault of the hotel but worth mentioning if you are a light sleeper. Heard guests talking at odd hours and very loud music in the middle of the night too. The views, at least in our room, was nice. The room was clean and furnished appropriately, however, the TV is too small for the size of the room, the TV remote never worked properly, and the wifi did not work on my tablet. Maintenance issues should have been addressed during the pandemic, specifically in the bathroom, which needs to be re-grouted and the shower head and knob were not in working order. I won't address the breakfast, understand why they are handling it the way they are, but the location of the breakfast room is odd. At least you can get hot coffee and juice. The refrigerator in the room is a good size and there is a microwave if needed. Staff is not top of the line with professionalism, seemed rather bored and disinterested in helping guests. Not impressed! Guests at the hotel had a disregard for pandemic rules imposed by the hotel and ordered by the County and State. Some wore masks, others not. No social distancing by some. The no smoking policy should also apply to marijuana which could be strongly smelled in both elevators and hallways, on the person of some guests. On a positive note, plenty of free parking, which is appreciated in this area of San Diego where parking is limited and at a cost.

Starting off, I stay at a lot of hotels. Even during Covid, my career takes me on a lot of road trips and a lot of nights spent away from home; I average between 140 and 200 nights a year in a bed other than my own. I have started to trend toward the major chain properties, with Marriott and Hilton being the mainstay of my lodging. As such, I am Platinum with Marriott, Gold with Hilton and Diamond with BW; I have begin to shy away from Best Western properties in recent years for the same reason I am giving the Yacht Harbor Hotel a rather negative review. BW, on average, is an inconsistent product with a wide-ranging target of what to expect in your experience. Unfortunately, the reason I stayed here was the relatively good reviews via Tripadvisor. I am ashamed to say, the reviews aren't reflective of my experience and I would hesitate to stay here again. I am in San Diego on business. There is a personal component to this trip as well, and I was looking to pinch a penny or two on the typical nickel and dime aspects of staying in a metro area: namely, having to pay for parking at the place you're already paying to stay at. This is a major hot-button issue for me; I will dump a typically promising property simply because they charge ridiculous parking fees, a disturbing trend that seems to increase regularly. Well, the Yacht Harbor is delightfully parking fee-free. And it is in a very promising location, only a mile from SAN airport and walking distance from Shelter Island. It was easy to find, with an off-street portico to pull into for checking in. However, once through the front doors the illusion of this being a nicer place to stay all but shattered. Low ceilings, disheveled employees behind the plexiglass encased counter. Checking in, I was never acknowledged as being a status member with the chain nor thanked for the reservation. Instead, I was slid a piece of paper that served as the "breakfast menu" (more on that later) for the Covid-era take-out morning bag and my keycards. When I found out I was placed on the ground floor, I was dubious about what my prospects would be. Directed down the hall behind the check-in desk, I found a row of 5 hotel room doors on a dead-end corridor. I opened the door to my assigned room and was met with the smell of dirty carpet and a squealing HVAC unit. I spun around and marched right back to the desk to ask for a different room. They said the hotel was sold-out and no rooms were available to move into, and that a maintenance man would come to look at the AC. Annoyed, since I had made the reservation months (December 2020) in advance, I returned to my room and waited for the maintenance personnel. Once he arrived, it took him 20 minutes fussing with the unit to quiet down what ever the culprit was, though it never truly has gone away. Now in my room alone, I couldn't but notice how incredibly tiny the space was. The King bed fills the small room, with barely the width of side tables on either side. The bathroom is equally small, and the "ocean-view" balcony instead looks at the parking lot of the business next door. Seriously BW, you place a Diamond member with a months-ahead booked reservation in the worst room? Making lemonade out of lemons, I looked to grab some ice from the ice machine and make a beverage before setting down to work on the tiny in-room desk. I check the vending area on the 1st floor: no ice machine. I go to the second floor: no ice machine. I go back to the front desk to ask, to be told the only ice machine for the whole property in on the third floor. Which can only be accessed by the elevator, not the stairs. Finally with my ice, I sit down back in my room and get to work. Then go to bed. The walls are paper thin. I can hear toilets flush. I can hear doors slam. I can hear other people cough in their rooms and children wail at three in the morning. The bed itself was decently comfortable, and the room nicely dark, but the final straw was when morning traffic began on Harbor Drive out front: you hear every vehicle accelerate from the stop light. Rest was not really that restfull. Finally, the brown bag breakfast. Before Covid, a standard BW hot breakfast buffet was the typical fare here, or so I was told. Now, you get a Jimmy Dean sandwich to reheat in your room microwave, a processed pastry, an orange and a cup of coffee. Not breakfast at all, and completely inedible. Looking back, I wished I had booked at the Marriott property down the street at Liberty Center and just paid the parking fee. If you are looking for a below-average highway motel experience, Yacht Harbor may fit the bill. Otherwise, steer clear of this place.

I'd rate this room as a $55-60 room as I've stayed in like or better at that price range. My rating takes into account both the accommodations and price. PROS - Free parking - In room microwave and fridge - They at least attempted breakfast...note, I said attempted - Decently quiet room (Though light road noise penetrated, we did not hear any neighbors at all.) - balcony...with blah view - Fast check in with masked employee - Close to airport - Felt reasonably safe CONS - Mask wear not enforced for guests - Smallish room - handle/lock looked like it had previously been broken and half- fixed (also seems to be of that easy to hack into variety) - Bed comfy in spots. In others you can feel the springs. - Sad institutional gray paint in bathroom area - a la a prison or mental institution & furniture that had seen better days - Epilepsy trigger lights in the bathroom. ( Lights kept flashing off and on - sometimes fast and sometimes slow. I just kept thinking that someone with epilepsy might have a seizure in here) - hole in the toilet base - forever for water to get hot and super low pressure - Crap view from balcony - Attempted breakfast: COLD Jimmy Dean McMuffin sausage, egg & cheese sandwich (instead of something that microwaves better such as a breakfast pocket or burrito) with no heating instructions whatsoever on the package, a piece of fruit, HOT fruit juices and a granola bar. We microwaved this breakfast muffin thing and the way the cheese CURDLED etc. made us toss it without even trying it. You know that harbor view? It's a view of the tip of yachts across a busy street with the bulk obscured by buildings. City view? A euphemism for a typical view in a city while driving around - no skyline or anything extraordinary.

This was a very enjoyable stay at an extraordinary price. This hotel was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The amenities were terrific and the location was exceptional. Look forward to staying here again in the future.

Our experience here was very good. Great front desk staff. The kitchen staff were very willing to help out with changing orders well. The hot tub was wonderful. We enjoyed the closeness of restaurants nearby. And we always live the sound of the ocean near by.

the lobby people were not nice and day 3 a lady ended up climbing over onto my balcony ( I was on the 5th floor) , I had to have a manager call the police to get her removed. Police went to her room and found drugs and guns. They also found drugs and guns on the second floor. I felt very unsafe in this room I also hade a 2yr old baby with me.

I stayed here for a weekend trip. The room is a good size, although the view leaves much to be desired. I paid extra to get a harbor view, but my view from the third floor was obstructed and I'm not sure it was worth the additional cost. Perhaps someone staying on a higher floor would enjoy it better. There is supposed to be a complimentary breakfast every morning, but I didn't bother with it because past experience has taught me that this tends to be drastically reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and government restrictions on dining. I did not see what was being offered. Something that seems minor but stood out to me was that the shower knob lets you control the amount of water and the temperature separately. In my experience, many hotels have a single shower knob that controls both temperature and flow, meaning that hotter equals more water. This annoys me because I like a nice warm shower but don't need a massive torrent of water. The fact that I could control the two separately here was a pleasant surprise.

Stayed here over a year ago, no issues. This time I felt like there were constant issues, even putting COVID aside. Breakfast was terrible, no selection, heat went out, no masks a lot of times with staff, smelled cigarettes'/marijuana smoke in room, loud noises from other guests which were not attended to even in late hours and just overall run down as if no one cares anymore.

Have stayed here a few times. It has a great location for San Diego & the airport. Bummed it did not have a shuttle this time but hopefully they bring that back. Cost $15 to Lyft to airport. Breakfast modification for Covid was good. Excellent night check in guy who went above & beyond to help us with a matter we needed to resolve. Love great staff. Nice location to walk to restaurants across the street for dinner as well.

I work in the hotel industry for over 20 years recently where I work and lived caught fire so been staying here on and off and rooms are clean Spacious and even have private terrace for you relaxation hotel is still providing a breakfast every morning and the staff here really goes up and beyond from Chris to Dan and Palulina my new go to spot for when needed a great price for deal for the room this is your spot!!

Close to everything in San Diego! Nice to wake up and see all the boats in the morning! At 8 am the raising of the American flag and god bless America playing as the flag went up! Great staff and great room

Regular run of the mill best western in point Loma. Excellent location near the harbor. Rooms were nice but tiny. And they have smoking rooms and balconies which is dope. Plus only a 2$ deposit. That's dope too

Early morning arrival around 1:30am after flight to San Diego. Nice check in ladies working, service a 5 from them. Hotel's condition/appearance was pretty average, however, bed and pillow were a 4. Shower was good. Breakfast buffet was a 3.5 with scrambled eggs, small potato chunks with no flavor, tasty bacon, juices, etc. Checkout service was just an average 3. About a 30 minute Uber to the Cross Border Express near Tijuana.

This is an older hotel that has recently been fully renovated. I had a harbor view room, let me say breathtaking. I've stayed here before and will stay here again!! Walking distance to some of the best seafood in San Diego. The pool and the hot tub, if you have stress this is where you get rid of it. The only place I'll stay.

Stayed here Labor Day weekend to see my Sailor. We both enjoyed our stay and views. The room was clean and the staff was so friendly. It was a hot weekend, so my son was so appreciative of the AC he doesn't get on base. Can't wait to plan another trip!

Per usual, this hotel offers a great room, fantastic service, and a good location that is central to everything in the San Diego area. This year due to the Covid outbreak, they went out of their way to offer guests a good breakfast.

We booked a Harbor View room...needless to say it was an obstructed view that we were not told about when we checked in. The hotel was booked so we were stuck in that room. I got an "I'm sorry" when we checked out. This was a non smoking room. The carpet had burn holes and chunks missing. One of the 2 elevators broke down on day 2, so everyone had to use 1 elevator. They offered a bag breakfast due to COVID-19. The harbor view rooms face the street and it was definitely noisy!!!!

This is my favorite spot for a staycation. Amazing location close to the airport, harbor and downtown. Upper floors will give you a great view of the harbor and boats. Across is the street are some great dining options. The staff are the best in the business- friendly and informative yet unobtrusive. I love the pool and hot tub with patio. Also there is free parking and a grab and go (bagged for safety) breakfast. A major plus is the leisurely noon checkout! Highly recommended.You won't regret it.

Today I watched as the property cleaned and cleaned!! They are truly doing everything they can to keep people safe during this time!!! Thank you Best Western!!! I appreciate the efforts that they are using to maintain all requirements. They are going above and beyond!!

This was our 1st trip to San Diego with the COVID-19 virus around. The hotel staff did an excellent job in responding to the crisis. You can't ask anymore of the management & staff under these trying conditions. The Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel is my Go-To Hotel when I am in San Diego.

The room overlooked the marina where the fishing boats take customers out on Tuna trips, it was nice to be able to watch from the balcony. Nice walk to Shelter Island and Liberty Station. The rooms large, and clean. The marina was also a nice walk with food place with pick up and delivery. You could stroll through and look at the yachts.

This place is disgusting. The room was not vacuumed and the carpet has NEVER been cleaned as evidenced by multiple stains and spills and even dried up crusty stuff. I thought it would be decent based on the reviews and I paid about $100/night and I'm so grossed out by this room, I just want to cry. I'm scared to touch the carpet with my bare feet. The bed is mushy and gross and I'm questioning if the sheets were even changed. I'm on it right now writing this and I feel itchy all over. The people in the room next to me enjoyed some pungent marijuana on their patio and then cigarettes. I know this because it was like they were smoking cigarettes and blowing it into my face. My patio door is closed and locked. I'm not mad at them, they're doing their thing, I'm mad at this cheap place where closed and locked patio doors might as well not exist for cigarette smoke. The tv remote does not work, and even if it did, there is only basic cable, no hbo or showtime. Seriously, this place is ghetto, it sucks and I'm really worried about bedbugs at this point, but I'm scared to look. Spend the extra $20 a night and get a better place. I wish I did. I'm not even sure I'll be able to sleep here. Oh! I almost forgot - the toilet just swirls around and around when you flush and only partially goes down. It's madness that they can charge so much for such a dump. Heed my warning - book somewhere else.

I did not go in July 2019 but rather February 2017 and I was impressed with the friendliness and the cleanliness of the hotel. Great location in both proximity to the harbor, downtown San Diego and the airport! This hotel made my visit to San Diego very memorable!

The room was big and clean but noisy. Windows are not douple glazed so don't do much to reduce external noise. Couldn't turn off air con or fan in toilet. No choice of pillows and the ones provided were too hard for me and so I didn't get much sleep.

Best western Hotel group is nothing but a scam. They are dishonest and do not look at their customer care as they prompt. I strongly don't recommend staying at any of their properties. I booked a stay at this property for 5 nights. As they promote their “low rate guarantee” I found a lower rate at booking.com. I submitted a claim and I expected a reasonable response. My request was denied, claiming that the browser they use shows higher rate at booking.com and using mobile browser maybe the reason I found a lower rate. I checked the rate on two different computers with different browsers and both has the same lower rates in booking.com however the manager called me and she said that she still finds that booking rate is higher. I asked her gently to send me something to confirm what she finds. She ignored my request and said that's not part of their policy. Their low rate guarantee is SCAM. The best thing to avoid this poor service hotel group.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and would probably stay again when next in San Diego. The location is wonderful, close enough to everywhere you'd want to visit and with free parking for our rental car. Right across the road is a selection of decent restaurants and a good craft beer brew bar. The price was right at this hotel, San Diego is not a cheap place to stay but this place doesn't break the bank and delivers a good experience as well. The free breakfast is nothing to write home about but if you're hungry it does the job fine. The shower was good, constant temperature and pressure. The bathroom is quite small but you don't spend much time in there so not a big deal. The pillows are quite high, I would take my own next time to get around this. The bed was large and comfortable enough and the room was clean and well appointed (microwave, bar fridge, coffee maker). There is a bit of road noise but it didn't affect our quality of sleep at all.

Not the Best Western I know.We love best Westerns and they need to work on clean values and not skim on the staff.We stayed at the best Western Carlsbad by the Sea and it sets the example of what a Hotel should be.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times before. Our previous visits were extremely satisfactory, consequently, we advised our son and family and friends to book 2 rooms and join us at the Yacht Harbor Hotel in April 2020.

Yacht Harbor is the place to stay. Awesome staff, great views, excellent breakfast, superior shuttle service. The staff was very helpful and accommodating with our large group that needed shuttle service to and from MCRD for our son's Family Day and Graduation.

The Yacht Harbor Hotel is a very good alternative to the much higher priced accommodations downtown or near Sea World. Parking and a FULL breakfast are included, plus there is a pool and a hot tub outside. The only things that I didn't particularly like were the small sink area (adjacent to the toilet and shower room), and the traffic noise (Harbor Dr is a major arterial.) Aside from those, all was great.

I am not one to review things in general but we had such a terrible experience I have to write about it. First of all our room is on the 4th floor but we can hear cars and airplanes passing by every few seconds and me and my family would wake up at night from how loud it was. Second of all our bathroom in our room flooded! I noticed a leak coming from our rooms ac so we put a trash can to collect the water on the ground and we told the front desk about it so they could solve the issue. Later in the day my father came back to the room to find our bathroom floors covered with water. Luckily we came to the room in time before the water reached our luggage but I just really wish they could've taken care of this issue earlier and quicker. We went to the front and they gave us another room like one door down from the room that the bathroom got flooded in, but I feel like we deserved an upgraded room or a free night or something for all the trouble we went through. Also they served breakfast there but I just couldn't eat any of it. The food was so discussing I had to spit it out. Overall I think this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had

We thought this would be our home away from home in San Diego after our stay here back in August. What a disappointment. 1) towels felt like sandpaper; 2) view blocked by staircase ( end room); 3) shower was a dribble; 4) breakfast eggs and potatoes looked identical - we ate Dow the street.

Location was 1.1 miles to Liberty Station. Room was clean and our extra large room with king bed was comfy. TV 32", small. Was surprised there were no extra blankets on the shelf. Have to call for one. The breakfast room was very small, too crowded to eat there. With over 100 rooms the breakfast area should be much larger. The variety of foods were good. Coffee very weak, walk to Better Buz or Starbucks 1 1/2 blocks away 3 minute walk. We stay at a lot of your hotels as we travel. Some better then others along the way.

We used the shuttle from Santa Fe Station and got to the hotel quickly. They had a very friendly and helpful staff who served as unofficial concierges. What we really liked was that the hotel was close to just about every place of interest. The rooms were clean, updated but a little small, especially the bathroom. Good breakfast with a small dining area. The second morning we had to take our food to the lobby..nothing major but worth noting.

We stayed for two nights in December. Check in was easy and the price was great. Beds were comfortable, but our room (207) was above the laundry and was rather noisy. Towels are small! The pool and hot tub were clean and a good temperature.

We came to California for the first time. To see our son come in from deployment. coming from Virginia had no clue about hotels in California. But it was a wonderful trip. The hotel was perfect. Run don't walk.unless you want a horrible experience. Everything was broke from door locks to heater making a screeching noise all night. If that wasn't bad enough. I found a big brown alive spider on the bed. Yikes

Love this hotel near the San Diego airport. I appreciate the convenience of the parking that allows me to leave my car while I fly to parts north and return the end of the week to collect the car. At the price of most parking near the airport, this is a really good deal plus allowing me to avoid the morning traffic on the 15 freeway.

I'd like to thank Danny Barrera the manager who accommodated our cheer girls on short notice after the Days Inn and Suites hotel we booked turned out to be bad news. Forced to find a hotel for 5 girls and three adults at the last minute, Mr. Barrera even provided roll away bed so our girls would be comfortable due to lack of bed space. The hotel is very clean, provides coffee in room with a great breakfast in The morning. Pool area clean with nice jacuzzi. Will book our stays here on our next San Diego trip. Thanks again for your caring service.

Upon arrival we were told there was a shuttle to pick us up at train station, it wasn't available had to take taxi (reimbursed). The rooms are spacious, comfy beds. My kids did not like the breakfast. My kids had a racial incident with a person who look like a transit sneaking in to get free breakfast. Hotel said he was a frequent guest, we were alarmed. So will never stay here again.

What I like most is the location of the hotel. Few minutes from downtown SD, balboa park, sea world, fashion valley. Clean, quiet and provides free breakfast. My family likes it and we come to this hotel 2-3 times/year.

Great place to stay. having free, wi-fi, free breakfast, great staff, free parking. Great Pizza across the street. Not a 5 star resort for amenities, but had everything we needed for a great weekend. I will be definitely be back.

Had a lovely stay at his hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean with comfy bed. The views of the marina are nice and the location is convenient for restaurants nearby and walks along the marina. Breakfast has a great choice. An added bonus is free parking and close proximity to the airport particularly when you have an early departure!!

It was a great stay for me and my husband. The staff were friendly. However, don't stay on the 2nd floor because their washing machine and dryer are on the 2nd floor and you can hear the noise from your room. Besides this, the place is close to a lot of good eateries and restaurants. BW service was good and friendly.

We stayed here four nights. The room was decent size and clean. The bed was so comfortable. The housekeeping staff were friendly and did a good job. The breakfast was pretty decent but we had trouble finding a table to sit at most mornings.

Our balcony room overlooked the harbor.We could see boats and helicopters most of the day.The views were amazing. Our room was clean and spacious. The hot breakfast offered a huge variety of options.You could choose pancakes,waffles,biscuits and gravy,cereal bagels and more. The entire staff was welcoming and greeted you every time they saw you. You really get a lot for your money here at this hotel. They also offer a free shuttle to the airport. We will book here again and not bother looking at other hotels.

The Yacht Harbor Hotel located on the San Diego Marina is in a great location accessible to the major freeways but still in a quiet area. The hotel is in very good shape with an excellent staff. The rooms are clean and spacious and the sleep quality is great. The remodeled vanities and bath areas are a nice touch. The breakfast is very good. There is an airport shuttle available and it is only about 6-8 minutes from the airport. This is my go-to hotel when I am in San Diego which is about 40 times a year.

Good location being relatively reasonable distances from shopping beaches and attractions. The biggest issue was all the traffic noise from the road right in front of the hotel. We also like to use a hot tub when traveling as we have one at home we use daily, but the hot tub at this hotel was either cloudy or covered with foam so we did not dare use it

This hotel was in a great location, we were only 20 minutes from everywhere we wanted to go. Our room was fine and we enjoyed the hot tub to relax in after busy days touring. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast all three days we were there. Underground parking was free which was nice. Overall, a positive experience.

Stayed here on route from Palm Springs to Los Angeles. Plenty of parking under the hotel. Reception not very attentive and vague. Rooms very dated toilet kept filling meaning we had disturbed sleep. The carpet was very worn and dirty I did not feel comfortable in this room. This is a shame as it is in a great location overlooking the harbour we had a harbour and pool,view room which was lovely. breakfast was a shambles too no room for people to eat having to take food up to their rooms or eat in reception very disappointing.

I booked this hotel as part of a package with British Airways due to the views offered from the rooms over the bay and that every room had a balcony. Despite booking 10 months in advance on a package, on arrival I was told the only room available was on the Ground Floor. Yes the room had a balcony but the view was of the Hotel Car Park and the only thing protecting the security and privacy of the room was a 3.5ft single brick wall. I have attached a photo of the “balcony”. I found myself permanently closing the curtains and hiding my cases in the bathroom. It certainly was not what I was expecting from the booking description. On the one day I utilised the breakfast it was poor, the Pancake machine had not been set up correctly, the eggs were fake/reshaped and other than some potato the only other hot options was biscuits/gravy or waffles. It certainly wasn't a free buffet breakfast to reflect the location. This was my final hotel of an 11 day stay in the US and, because of the view that was offered, the one I was looking forward to the most. I was left bitterly disappointed and won't be returning.

My family checked in about 8:30 pm after a long tiring day. We were looking forward to getting settled and a good nights sleep. I did call ahead to let them know we would be arriving late. When we did arrive, the woman at the front desk just sat there and didn't say a word. Not hello, not welcome or how can I help you. She did not smile and definitely did not make us feel welcome. When I gave her my name, she simply looked us up in the computer and laid the key cards on the counter. When I asked about where to park and extended parking, she acted as if it was a bother to her. Maybe she was tired and having a bad day, but it was certainly affecting her service.

On my latest road trip, I stayed a few days at the Best Western Yacht Harbour in San Diego. I stayed one day when I flew in, and a couple of days before flying out. I try and stay at Best Western's wherever I go as I am a Rewards member. That is because I always get good service and rooms when I stay there. Yacht Harbour was no exception. First, it is close to the airport. The service at the front desk was very good. On the my first stay I had to wait for my room. It was understandable as I arrived at 1300. The lobby had comfortable chairs and I was able to read my book while waiting. I found my rooms clean, light and airy, and both had balconies. I got nice views of the harbor and the mountains to the north. The Wi-Fi was easy to use. I could also got it in the lobby. I didn't try the breakfast, but there looked to be lots of choices. It was easy to use their airport shuttle. I used it twice, once to go and pick up my car rental and then to be dropped off when I left. The parking is free and there are 2 levels. Another bonus was there were some nice restaurants within 5 minute walking distance from the hotel. If I come back, I will definitely stay at the BW Yacht Harbour.

The hotel itself is right by the harbor and the harbor-view rooms are really good. The only drawback we found that the rooms were noisy being so close, but overall a good experience. The hotel is clean, the rooms are a good size, the complimentary breakfast is good and its free parking .

Friendly and helpful front desk staff. The room was huge and very clean. Laundry facilities were also good. Nice pool.Close to sea world and the zoo. Good food nearby. Great views of the harbour from our room.

The location of this hotel is beautiful with the bay across the street and a lot of restaurants within walking distance. This hotel is older with popcorn ceilings and the doors slam shut so loud it can wake you up if you're a light sleeper. The rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and lots of pillows. The restroom was clean and remodeled. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Alexa was super sweet and offered us a goodie bag since it took a while for her to find our reservation and get us checked in. I recommend this hotel to anyone that's looking to save a little money for fun and food. The free breakfast was really good and my son enjoyed the fruit and biscuits and gravy. The free parking which almost all the hotels charge for was a bit cramped but it worked. We did find a dirty sock in our room that wasn't ours but other than that the room was pretty clean. I recommend staying at this hotel if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg and want a good night's sleep. Just don't expect the Ritz.

I stay at this property when I travel to San Diego. always friendly people behind the counter and very helpful. There is a harbor nearby that you can walk to for food and very close to Liberty station.

Friendly staff, comfy bed, quiet room and convenient location for getting around the city and to the beaches. No complaints with our stay at this hotel, and we would stay here again if we went back to San Diego.

Nice room, very clean, good service and great free parking accommodations! Had to leave by 5:00AM to the airport before breakfast was served at 6:00AM. No shuttle provided to the airport at that time of day.

Great location. Free parking and breakfast included. Good local eating places from Dennys to Jimmy's Tavern. Free coffee anytime in reception. Overall a clean friendly place. 20 dollars in a cab from gaslamp district will be back for another visit

We've stayed here several times in the past and have always thought it was a good value. Not this time! Perhaps it was due to the holiday weekend, but we found room prices to be well over 200.00/night - almost double the cost of a similar room in early May (only 4 months ago). We were happy our spacious king room was ready a bit early, however it was dated and the bathroom could really use a makeover. Since it was still summer and San Diego was in the 90's it was necessary to use the air conditioning. And although the thermostat was set at 60, the room temperature never dropped below 80. The public and breakfast areas were insufferably hot and crowded and the breakfast just average. We chose Best Western Yacht Harbor based on location (very convenient for us) and past experience. In the future we will investigate other options in the area as this visit was less than satisfactory.

Convenient location, safe, quiet, great parking, excellent staff, and good breakfast all made for a nice week's stay. Rooms look dated and the carpet quite worn, but clean and comfy. Definitely recommend!

Very well kept hotel, right on the harbor at Point Loma SD. Even if you are not facing the harbor you will have lovely views of the hill side. The staff were friendly and had lots of knowledge of the town and things to do. Piazza and seafood right across the street. All in all a wonderful 5 night getaway.

This was a nice hotel, it offers free breakfast and free parking and not all hotels offer that in San Diego. The breakfast was decent with a lot of choices. It was quiet and clean. There was a pool but I didn't use it. It's what I needed and what I expected. It had everything I needed while I was traveling. They were responsive to any inquiries and concerns. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the Yacht Harbour for 1 night at the end of a busy 2 week holiday and had a very nice stay! All the staff that we met were friendly - from reception staff to cleaning staff. Check in/out was quick and easy. Ample free parking. Room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Pool area was lovely - clean, plenty of loungers, free clean towels, super warm hot tub! My husband and daughter used the gym which they enjoyed! I wasn't expecting much from a free breakfast buffet but it was good and easily managed to cater for 3 fussy eaters!! Overall very good value for money!

We stayed here for 3 nights on a recent visit to the area. We found the room very clean and comfortable. The staff who we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of car parking and the breakfast was as expected. It does have a pool but we didn't use it during our time here. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff is very friendly, and every thing about staying here is positive relative to other options. Shuttle to airport is run ontime and by excellent friendly staff. I visit San Diego often.. moving forward I would not stay anywhere else.

The room had a great city view. Everything worked as promised. Close to the Yacht Harbor and beaches. Within a short driving distance to Old Town, the Zoo and downtown. The staff is always friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about directions to different areas of the city.

Situated on an island with the yachts on one side and the harbor on the other, for those seafaring "wannabees" its an ideal getaway location. Small pool with restaurant overlooking both the pool and the yacht basin. Food is fine and it is a feel good rest and relaxation destination with all of San Diego at your beck and call!

We stayed at Best Western Yacht Harbor for 3 nights. The location was right near the harbor and some good restaurants. The rooms were quiet, the pool was very enjoyable - it did get quite busy in the late afternoon/early evening. The breakfast had so much to choose from and the coffee was nice and strong! The bus stop to Old Town/Transit center was literally less than 5 minutes away. The service and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

There were several hotels in the area but the Yacht Harbor was by far the best of them all. My Family had a pleasant experience here. Not very expensive and actually very cozy. Will definitely be returning here whenever we are staying in the area !!

Smoke detector falling off the wall, remote does not work on television, check in and entrance very unclear, tub draining slow, and if you book your room on a site other than their own just forget it, you get a crap room. This is Point Loma- no where near anywhere I thought in San Diego. Such a bummer- stay somewhere else

I enjoyed this hotel for so many different reasons. First is the perfect location. Fabulous view of harbor, within walking distance to restaurants. Free covered parking. Great free breakfast. Friendly staff. Our room was available several hours before normal check in time. Nice pool area and outside smoking area for my friends. Bed was very comfortable and room was big with fridge and microwave. And best of all was price. For all of the above mentioned amenities the price was great.

1- they give me room was Already occupied and it was really embarrassing for me and for the other customer when I opened the door. 2- the room was dirty, a lot of trash and empty cans was under the bed. 3- the room is smell bad

not worth the price, customer service sucks. dont stay here. there was a moth smashed into the wall in the room which told me it wasn't clean. the entire place smelled so musty that i didnt even want to check in. they didnt check us in until after 3 pm

I really enjoyed my recent stay at this hotel. Chris and Dan at the front desk/shuttle drivers were welcoming, polite and very friendly. They make you feel like family and at home. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully furnished with everything you need when traveling.

For the money we paid, I didn't feel this stay was great value for money. Room was dingy and needs a makeover and brightening up, it was comfortable enough, just too dark. Breakfast room is a lottery, far too small to accommodate at peak times and has limited options. There are bananas and apples but no mixed fresh fruit option as many hotels offer. The scrambled eggs are over cooked and tasteless but with few options, at least it beats pancakes and waffles. I also sent my comments directly to Best Western via their survey request, so these comments are consistent. The best feature of the hotel is the front desk staff, very helpful and polite at all times. Car parking is easy, plenty of space too and the access to the harbour and it's eateries is very easy. Our favourite was Miguel's, a 10 minute walk down the street, off the harbour side though.

First off we noticed the noise from all around; laundry room across the hall, doors slamming, traffic... When I tried to take a shower the shower head was pointing out the wrong way. When I reached up to adjust it the entire arm fell down spraying water over the entire bathroom. Then when I tried to just take a bath , the hot and cold water was plumbed to the wrong sides. I asked for housekeeping to clean up the bathroom. There was no housekeepers until the next day. They sent clean, dry towels with the maintenance man who did fix the hot/cold water problem, but couldn't fix the shower head because it needed taken apart and fixed f on the inside. The television didn't work until I pushed the cables in securely and when I pulled on the refrigerator door to open it, it fell out of the cabinet. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told there wouldn't be a manager there until 10:00 the next day. Extremely dissatisfied with the service and the quality of the room! Won't ever be back!

Nice hotel with a great view of the harbor. Underground parking is really tight. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Free breakfast is good if your lucky enough to get a table. The room fills up quickly and can get very over crowded. Each room had a fridge and a microwave which was a nice surprise.

The hotel is older, and visibly in need of TLC (faded/worn carpets, musty odors, non-working A/C & thermostat, broken corner wall/floor covers, shower rods, etc. The location is good and the "free" parking (which you essentially pay for in the per night price) is a perk. The breakfast buffet is nice if you have no time to go out, but there is no variety, food is warm at best. The staff we encountered were great, but for $200 per night we will definitely stay at a different hotel next time. Now, if they offered a room (as is described above) for $100 -$125 a night, sure .. you get what you pay for, but for what they charge, I'd prefer a working A/C and less "scent". :-) Nice staff though .. that is nice to find no matter the price.

If you want a good hotel and a reasonable rate with a view stay here. The rooms are clean and nice and the beds are good. In room fridge, coffee and microwave. Parking is under the hotel or up on the second floor. Nice Hot breakfast and WiFi. Ice machines are 3rd and 6th floor however. Right across from the Marina with has great restaurants. Easy access on and off Harbor Dr and the Airport is just down the street. A good stay.

A great place to stay while in San Diego. Close to the harbor and easy to access. Parking is convienent. The staff is pleasant and helpful. We had a room with a great view and the breakfast is enjoyable as well.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The room was a bit small for 4 people but manageable. The bathroom was a good size, and very clean. The hotel is a bit dated, but everything was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. There is lots of parking and the area felt pretty safe. I would stay again and recommend this hotel too.

This hotel is located at Loma Point. The location is great near in front of the Harbor providing free parking. The room was on the third floor and had a balcony. the room was not that big, but was efficiently organized. The breakfast was varied, and you could make yourself a waffle or some pancakes. The room for breakfast is a little small, especially when all want to eat at the same time. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We always choose this hotel when going to Hawaii as we prefer flying out of San Diego rather than LA. Easy close parking and love their shuttle to the airport. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Some great eateries across the street with Harbor view!

Although we only stayed one night, this hotel was so clean and the staff was so nice. It's located right downtown and you can walk to the restaurants and bars. I had an ocean view from my room and the breakfast was fantastic.

This hotel is a regular Best Western, why it is not rated a Plus is beyond me, the hotel is excellent! We stayed one night pre cruise, we will be back another time! Outside the hotel looks quite plain, but inside the lobby ( free coffee and fruit) is really nice, our room was excellent- must have been recently updated, and the breakfast room is spotless , with a wide range of hot breakfast items. This hotel meets the 4 things we look for in a hotel- **Free shuttle from the airport **Free shuttle to the cruise ship pier ** Free Wifi in lobby and in guest rooms ** Free full breakfast Front Desk Manager Danny made our stay so pleasant - checked us in quickly, answered any questions we had,gave us recommendations for dinner nearby, and generally made us feel welcome, with his friendly yet professional demeanor.

We got into San Diego tired and hungry. We parked in a strange underground garage with somewhat tight parking spaces. Our room was large but the bathroom was tight. The wifi was great which is important for my connected family. Across the street are some GREAT restaurants and the hotel has very easy access to San Diego freeways. The location was much better than a different hotel we stayed at four years ago up north. The breakfast was fine and very typical Best Western fare. Our only complaints was very strange. We had several mechanical issues in our room and at one point the elevator button stopped working on our floor. VERY strange. We asked for a leaky toilet to get fixed and it never happened during our 5 day trip. Would stay here again and lay out traps for gremlins. ;)

This is a very nice hotel, great location and pleasant staff. The breakfast was quite good and fresh. The only drawback was when we discovered that we had left a very nice thermos in the room after checkout. We had driven a few miles when this discovery was made. I called the hotel later and asked them if it had been found by the cleaning people and they said that nothing from our room had been turned in to housekeeping. It was only a thermos and easily replaceable, but the bottom line is to carefully check your room before leaving because the housekeeping staff, apparently, do not turn items into lost and found!

Great location, free parking and full breakfast. Located near the airport, downtown and the beach, with free shuttle service if needed, Good local places to eat all within walking distance. Really nice views from any room.

The Best Western has a good location. The parking garage has both covered and outdoor parking. The price is good for the San Diego area. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is close to the airport so you do hear the planes. The air conditioner is quite loud, it would be hard to sleep at night with it on. The room has a microwave and mini refrigerator, which is very nice to have. The breakfast includes fruit, cereal, eggs, potato, breads, waffles, pancakes, yogurt, hot oatmeal... The breakfast room is small, so take your food back up to your room or eat in the lobby. Staff were friendly and informative about the area.

Hotel needs updating but was fine. Definitely get the Harbor View! It was close to everything we wanted. Great location in San Diego but I would most likely check out another place to stay next time I go unless some updating gets done before.

Had to book a room quick, this was close to the airport, quiet clean and centrally located. Parking was easy and rooms were clean! I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a nice little getaway from noise and hustle

Clogged toilet watter all over the floor wet carpet from toilet watter , smelly sheets and pillows , noisy venting system, i couldn't sleep at all , dirty hot tub , you could go somewhere else better with the same money

We stayed here prior to a one week cruise, our room was small, but nice, balconies on all rooms, hot tub and pool. Right across from the Harbor nice area to walk. Breakfast was plentiful, free 7 days of parking was included in the room rate, which also included a shuttle to the port. Very happy with our stay.

We stayed here two nights before a cruise, The location is very good, check in was easy, the Breakfast was very good both mornings, room was clean, There are very good restaurants nearby (Pizza Nova was a favorite) and there is a grocery store nearby for those last minute things you need before the cruise, and the shuttle to the cruise port was a bonus. Overall we had a very good stay, There was one black mark against this hotel, our credit card was compromised during our vacation (we found out once on the cruise ship), We found out that another couple travelling with us also had their credit card compromised, the strange thing was, the only place either of us used our cards was for the security deposit at this hotel, both of them were compromised on the same day and used at the same place (in Brazil), this could be a coincident, But?? I did do a review (to the hotel manager) but never heard anything back, so it is time to post a review here, hopefully they have fixed whatever the problem was.

The hotel is in a great location, offers a good breakfast and free hot drinks throughout however it let's itself down hugely on the smallest of points! The breakfast is nice, but CROWDED! you'll do well to get a seat until after 9am with hundreds staying at the hotel but a room that cant hold more than 20-25 people which meant people are standing around hovering for seats, eating standing up, eating in the lobby and in and around the pool area. It also meant fresh open food is waiting to restock the food is left sitting in hallways and not in the cleanest of places. In addition to this our toilet blocked and leaked 6 times on our 6 night stay with no help needed from humans using it. We reported it each time and on the third occasion asked to swap rooms but were told no without an explanation as to why, the manager just appeared out of nowhere shook his head and disappeared again, leaving the poor receptionist to deal with us. On the 6th occasion we were offered a room swap but we were checking out the next day! As I said the hotel is comfortable and in a great place ut is just little this is and their reactions that let it down.

I was extremely impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff at this hotel. The exterior needs some upgrading, but the interior of the rooms was recently renovated. Also, the breakfast area was always clean and well stocked. I can't thank the staff enough for their kind attitude. Everyone appeared to really enjoy what they were doing. Highly recommend this location!

The last Best Western we stayed at was a bit grubby, and I typically avoid. This one, however, is a gem. It was quite clean, which, in a value hotel, is paramount. In San Diego, it's a bit difficult to find low-cost parking at the hotels (some charge as much as $45 per night in the city), but at Yacht Harbor, it is free. They have a nice breakfast, although, to be honest, I find the waffle iron that you flip over and the standard buffet-style faire somewhat tired. It won't be as much a priority to our family in the future., Look at this hotel in a certain light and you will have a great stay: it is low cost, has free parking, and includes breakfast. For a small family of four, that's hard to beat. The people up front were cool, too.

The view of the harbor was really great and the kids were happy with the pool. The room didn't feel clean though. Carpets were stained, crumbs of something on the bed, and a funny smell to the room, almost like it had been a smoking room previously.

The hotel is located on a busy 4 lane surface street and you hear traffic all the time. Even at 3 AM. The location is good next to one of the marinas and there are good restaurants nearby. The room was ok but small like the bathroom. The included breakfast was good. They do provide an airport shuttle which was good.

Room not cleaned until requested. Jacket left behind but "not found" in the room. Had to wait and wait to talk to someone on the phone, calling multiple times. Used to be a great place to stay, right on the harbor, but we won't be back again. Couldn't get senior discount. Priced higher than other Best Westerns, too. Should have gotten great service but sadly disappointed.

My mother and I stayed at this hotel for my Spring Break. The hotel was within close proximity to the airport. We stayed her for four nights. The check-in process was efficient and the manager honored our request to have a smoke free room, which we appreciated. This hotel has such a hard working staff that truly made us feel so welcomed. We had a question about how to operate the television and maintenance was there to assist us within 5 minutes. Our room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. However, for my taste the pillows were slightly small and counter space in the bathroom was lacking. I truly appreciated how clean this hotel was, housekeeping did a fabulous job of cleaning the rooms daily. The daily breakfast was delicious and filling. I also appreciated the rotation of fresh coffee they had in the lobby throughout the day. Overall, this hotel served as a perfect location as a home base for our sightseeing around San Diego. I also enjoyed the views of the marina and valley from the room's balcony.

We recently had a wonderful stay In Orange at A Best Western Plus. The stay was Amazing I decided I'd make Best Western my Hotel Chain. While this Anniversary trip was planned months in Advanced I made a huge mistake of Reserving at the Comfort Inn just up the road, I call this Location on Friday night to Reserve for Saturday night and they were able to get us into a room (Thank God)! Unfortunately, this stay at your property wasn't what I expected! Check in was wonderful, the girl checked us in no problem was very friendly (actually the one who took my reservation previous day). But what started the frustration was when we arrived at our room our keys didn't work. My husband who was sick from (Black Mold exposure from from previous hotel) had to go back down get the keys fixed, front desk actually sent the maintenance guy up to us and his key worked but ours didn't! He asked us if we were going out, we said yes for dinner. He said ok have the desk call me when you get back I'll walk you up and let you in. What???? Why did his key work and ours didn't? Why did why need a chaperone to our room? Anyhow somehow that mysteriously resolved itself! Went to dinner came back our key worked. While sleeping Saturday night, fire alarm goes off, I understand things happen beyond hotels control. However, what upset me was we slept through some of that alarm! We didn't even hear it going off in our room, what we heard was the people outside the window going down the stairs! Had this been a real fire, this could've been bad. What about the hearing impairmed people? They wouldn't stand a chance in your hotel in the event of a fire. We don't even know what happened, was it a real fire? All we knew was we were standing out on the street at 330 am with no apology or explanation! After being let back into the hotel returning to our room GUESS WHAT OUR KEYS DID NOT WORK AGAIN!!!! At check out I asked if there was some kind of compensation, again I understand everything cannot be controlled but... what bothered me was that it was like I was asking a huge favor of this hotel for something In return. I think my biggest disappointment was I stayed in a hotel previous night was full of black mold, decided to move to this hotel and faced more problems. I didn't have to come to Best Western I could've gone somewhere else, of course this could've happened somewhere else but I'm sure it would've been handled differently. I guess my way of thinking ALL Best Western is Amazing isn't all that true! What happened to Great Hospitality? Does it even Exist anymore?

So we ran into problems at this hotel. The hotel is old, yes but they are trying to update it. Our biggest issue was the toilet in our first room did not flush and of course, we did not find this out until into the night. We needed to use the washrooms in the lobby which is not very convenient. The cleanliness of the room was something to be desired as well, there were crumbs on the floor and nail clippings beside the bedside table. The desk was great and had no problem moving us to another room however that room would not be ready until 2 pm so we put all our luggage back in our car for the day. Our next room the view was fantastic and the room was much larger, however, within the first flush of the toilet it backed up all over the bathroom floor. They came and plunged it and we did not have any other problems with it. They need to update the plumbing for sure. As for the cleaning staff, they are not very thorough. I found a dirty towel hanging over the curtain rod in the bathroom and our sheets were stained before we ever slept in the bed. I figured they would change them on the second night and did not so I left a message to have them changed. I think that they are just in a rush. I do not have huge standards when going to hotels however when there are obvious issues they are hard to overlook.

Saying “yacht harbor” is a far over reach of where this hotel is located. The yacht horror is across the very busy N. harbor Dr and behind some two and three story buildings. You cannot see it, from anywhere. We stayed here pre and post a trip to the Polynesian islands, flying out of San Diego. I would never choose this hotel other than price. It's old. The bathrooms are so small, a normal person cannot sit on the potty and move their hands. See pic. Drapes do NOT block light and windows do NOT block noise. To get to entrance? You have to drive on the sidewalk! Uber had a really tough time with this, but we guided them in. I will say there are a couple of nice restaurants across N. Harbor Dr., but do not stay on the even number oops! The light, the noise... Staff is super nice, which is why it got 2 stars. No other reason.

The check in and rooms we nice and clean. It has street noise but that's ok. The location is not right on the yacht harbor like we thought. We left early every morning to go fishing before 6 am so the breakfast was not available but the kind lady at the front desk gave each of us a TO GO BAG one morning. The next morning there was a different front desk lady that was very rude. She said we could not have a TO GO BAG because we were not checking out. Her name was Bella.

Convenient, good value for cruisers out of San Diego. Most of the guests are wither going on or coming from a cruise. Includes shuttle to cruise terminal. Good breakfast included. Many restaurants nearby. Liberty Station is a mile or two away.

Great value, good location, excellent staff. We enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel. We had a Harbor view, with balcony room that offers great views. As our room faced the main street, a bit of street noise can be heard during busy nights. Can't beat the overall value for this nice place. I look forward to returning again when in San Diego.

i have seen better best western hotels, and cheaper. there is no noise blocking, you hear the street, the other rooms and the hotels office.... internet seems only to serve little amount of devices. plus side: its close to the airport and free parking

We spent time in San Diego on way to Hawaii for spring holiday. Our schedule didn't fit their airport shuttle; cabs added to the cost of the stay. Check their airport transportation schedule ahead. Employees were helpful and there is someone on desk 24/7.

I had a very early flight so I wanted a hotel near the airport. Had a lovely view of the parking lot. The room was quite basic with worn sheets and blanket, however it was quite clean. I left before breakfast. The airport shuttle does not start running until 7 am, so I had to take a cab to the airport. Hotels in this area are quite pricey, so I chose this hotel since it was the most economical. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The beds were quite comfortable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was easily accessible to the surrounding attractions and within a mile of the airport. We had a lovely stay, I recommend an upper room in the front, it has a beautiful view of the harbor.

This hotel is reasonably-priced and has what a traveler needs. Not too fancy, the room is small but does the job and has all you need. The location is convenient, has restaurants in walking distance. Friendly staff.

We flew to San Diego and spend several days before starting our trip North. The Yacht Harbor Hotel turned out to be a good choice – a location near the airport and right across the road from a great restaurant

This hotel is located by the ocean with beautiful views. The rooms are clean and all employees are friendly and helpful. Breakfast, internet, excercise room are all first class. As far as I know this is the only hotel that does not charge for parking ones car.

First time to San Diego, studied maps of where would be a centralized spot to stay. Had a nice room overlooking the harbor. Close to downtown, the airport, beaches. We were able to walk to many restaurants and bars. Staff were very nice.

The Best Western is located minutes away from the airport and across the street from the yacht harbor. Room was reasonably priced for the area (Booking.com) and included a robust no meat breakfast. Room had the standard amenities; good towels, coffee maker, walk out balcony. There is a small pool.

Great views, lobby and facilities clean. Room was a clean older room, newer bathroom, great shower and water pressure even being on the highest floor and had the room had a balcony in which most do not have. Overall I was pleased with the hotel, staff and property

We were looking for a hotel near the airport. This Best Western checked all the items on my list of must have. Reasonably priced, free breakfast, shuttle to airport, good room, laundry facility (if needed), friendly & helpful staff. Location was great near the harbor and restaurants. A+ all around.

The room was a little small but beyond that everything was great. We checked in late and checked out early so it didn't really matter. They provide a good and convenient breakfast. Rooms are clean and everything works. Staff is friendly and professional.

This is the place to stay if you are looking for a reasonable price and being able to leave your car in covered parking when flying out & back through San Diego airport. The rooms seem to have been somewhat refurbished (nice tile on bathroom floors) and were comfortable. We stayed overnight prior to our morning flight, and then again overnight when we flew back in from Hawaii. On the first stay there were a couple of glitches with the night staff, including a woman who couldn't seem to get our room number and time correctly for a wake-up call. We had to leave on time so we set our own alarm thank goodness. After that, I panicked a bit and triple checked that we could use their transportation to the airport. All was o.k. For our trip back, we knew that their shuttle did not run late and our flight was in at 10:30 p.m. so we had to take a taxi but had no problem. It is only about a 10 minute trip to the airport. The hotel is in a nice area with several restaurants across the street. In the morning they offer a full, hot breakfast with all types of items including pancakes and waffles.

Recommend that you pay extra for a harbor view room and ask for upper floor above 4th. The hot breakfast is outstanding with lots of variety(scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals both hot and cold, pastries, yogurt, pancake machine, fruit, juices, coffee, tea etc and they change the hot items daily. While we were there we had scrambled eggs, bacon and hot potatoes one day and biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs the next and scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes another day. The hot tub was perfect but the heated pool was cool so we had to ask for it to be turned up. The location is great - close to the airport with no plane noise and also a short walking distance to Shelter Island and restaurants are across the street. Hotel shuttle bus was broken while we were there but hotel paid for taxi to and from airport for guests.

Our first night was not pleasant due to our being put in a king bed smoking allowed room. We were able to change rooms to a much larger double bed room which was free of the horrible cigarette odor the second night, and that made all the difference in our stay. The breakfast was wonderful, and the location of the hotel was perfect for getting around San Diego and staying off of the Interstate.

I picked this hotel because the price was right AND they say on website there is airport shuttle transportation. We arrived at 8 and when I called I was told shuttle not running that late. How stupid is that?

we were in town for MCRD graduation. great spot. not a scary run down neighborhood. great and sufficient parking AT NO CHARGE. excellent hot and cold breakfast buffet style with lots of elbow room in dining area. housekeeping and staff quick to serve. great hygienic rooms and this is coming from a tennis traveling family that has seen it all. great affordable restaurants at walking distance. complimentary laundry room was perfect! sweet front desk people. rooms are small but exceptionally clean with clean bathrooms. fresh clean smelling linen like at home. beds/mattress comfortable to sleep. love love love the complimentary tasty apples and coffee bar in the lobby! very affordable for the size of my party of 7!

Wow! Celine works graveyard/overnight. She is extremely friendly and helpful. I had trouble charging my phone. She offered to let me borrow her PERSOMAL Acharger Such phenomenal customer service and generosity is not easy to find. Best Western is lucky to have an employee like CELINE. I am so impressed. 10 star customer service. Thank you, CELINE F!!!!!

We were here for an overnight stay after arriving late from Honolulu and leaving town the next AM. The place was clean, staff friendly. Our front right corner room r was small (Motel 6 sized small), but clean. However, apparently we were in the one room that was unable to receive wifi, though it worked every where else. No one was able to fix this problem during the time we were there.

The location is very good and near to many things to do. View of the hills from the room is pretty good too. Well maintained and clean rooms. Breakfast is repetitive but good, and includes fresh fruits and yogurt too. But go early in the morning to avoid the crowd in the small breakfast room. They also had all-day complimentary fresh coffee in the reception area. The ground level parking lot leaks a lot of (dirty?) water from the roof during rains and so it was difficult to walk to the car (yep, we ended up being in san diego for the very few rainy days it has ! ) But they do have a open parking area on the upper floor, so we parked there and it wasn't too bad.

Staff was excellent, helpful, pleasant. Rooms very clean. Somewhat dated decor but nice location and easy access to food store, fast food and quality restaurants Free parking (covered) was a nice plus..

We have used the Yacht Harbor for its convenient location to the San Diego cruise terminal. They offerfree underground parking and free shuttle to the terminal. Balconies are a nice plus. All in all a great place. Cant understand why it it is not a BW plus hotel....should be. J and B Canada

We spent two nights before and one night after our recent cruise to Hawaii. Hotel is close to airport and not far from the cruise terminal. They are doing some remodeling but didn't affect our stay. Room was nice with a balcony. Nice views of the yacht harbor across the street. Appreciated the free airport and cruise port shuttle. Very helpful staff. Only downside, is there is no dining (except for free breakfast) at the hotel, but there are a few good restaurants across the street. Would stay there again if we're in the area.

From the time we landed in San Diego I knew we made the right choice. We called and the shuttle bus for our hotel was there in minutes. Very friendly driver and he handled the baggage. Once checked in we were surprised by the view from the room and a balcony we could sit on and enjoy the breeze from the ocean. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The next day after a wonderful breakfast they shuttled us down to the pier to board our ship. A very good experience.

We wanted a place near the airport that would offer free parking while we traveled to Hawaii. This place met the bill. It's clean and tidy, although it is showing its age a bit. Pillows were horrible, but it was quiet and met all our other criteria.

Very nice and rooms are quite nice, but they are doing renovations and you have to endure some very loud noise during your stay. It wasn't pleasant. I don't think everyone had the problem, but I am a consistent rewards member. This is how they reward you? Complaining got me some extra points which was a nice gesture, but still had to endure the noise during my stay and had to pay the same price as everyone else; even the ones without being a rewards member. Bizarre.

This is a great place to stay. Great view of Point Loma Harbor. Staff was very friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. Balcony was just an added bonus. Would stay here again when back in this area.

We stay here whenever flying out from San Diego. Staff always so personable and lobby area delightful and breakfast area complimentary with coffee available 24 hrs in lobby and airport shuttle service to terminals 5 minutes away.Perfect location to walk across the street to several restaurants on the water or a 2 minute drive to Shelter Island restaurants. Highly recommend. We usually are here just for flights then on the way home by car but excellent location for exploring San Diego.

pretty much what we expected from a Best Western. The price was what swayed us from staying at The Dana or Shellter Island Palms, which used to be our choices previously. One thing was a spoiler: we booked several weeks ahead. There was no indication that this hotel was making changes. When we came to our room for a little rest from 3 active grandchildren and many trips to danceclasses, a play etc, we found they were drilling and pounding a floor above our room. So much for relaxing. Same thing the next day. Only break was on Sunday. This should have been made clear when we booked. We got some extra points... which showed good will, but didn't make up for the lack of the room being reasonably qjuiet. WE would have appreciated a deduction in tshe roomrate for those 2 days. as BW premier members we would have expected a room in another part of the hotel, even if it meant an upgrade.

Very impressed with this hotel as they offered breakfast in with the cost of the room, cleanliness was of a high standard, there was free parking and a shuttle to the airport and plenty of pleasant staff. The location is good but would recommend a car to get around. Breakfast is fairly standard with a small amount of choice, but depends what you normally like to eat! We also used the laundry facilities and this was fairly-priced and easy to access.

This hotel treats it's returning guests great. The balcony's are great. The breakfast room has been completely revamped and is good along with a fantastic breakfast. They have a good shuttle service to and from the cruise docks.

We were very pleased with our stay here. Had an early AM flight from SAN, and didn't want to risk driving down from OC and hitting traffic the morning of our trip to HI. It worked out perfectly, especially the free 7 day covered parking at the hotel - not having to shell out $15/day for airport parking basically recouped the price of the room! Every one of the staff we spoke with were very nice and helpful as well. Free daily breakfast and airport shuttle (7AM-5PM) are added bonuses. Easy pickup area for Lyft/Uber/Cabs outside of those times. Nice views of the Harbor and several great restaurants and bars within walking distance. Small, but adequate pool & spa area. Rooms are a bit dated right now, but very clean. They are in the middle of renovations, so there may be some noise during normal working hours. We visit the Point Loma area often, and usually stay on Shelter Island at BW Island Palms, but we'll definitely be looking into staying here again!

We loved the hotel because it was comfortable and the hotel is located in ideal location for our sightseeing activities. Parking is free and afternoon coffee/tea are complimentary on the house. There we enjoyed outdoor relaxing environment that the hotel has patio. Breakfast was good. Customer service at front desk was impressive. We will miss this place. One disadvantage is long check out time that we were frustrated because night shift lady front desk rep was awkward and she is very very slow with the checkout process.

Right on the yacht harbour and sportfishing area. The hotel is showing it's age, but offers good value in clean rooms. A friendly welcome, and good advice from the reception staff on where to go, what to see. No bar or restaurant; a small breakfast selection is however available. One small piece of advice for the managers - please ask your reception staff not to take calls from people "phoning in sick" when there are people wanting to check out! Don't you have an office number?

Middle class hotel with affordable rates, and great view on the bay. You are in 10 min downtown and have free parking (downtown you would have to pay at least 30 $). The room are large, with coffeemaker, breakfast is o.k. Small pooll and jacuzzi.

The hotel's location overall was great for what my wife and I needed to do. The view was fantastic of the harbor and the city. The hotel is older by it's appearance on the outside and the rooms are outdated and is in need of a overall. I needed to iron my shirt before dinner the night we were there, but I had no ironing board. In addition, the room appeared that it had not been updated in over 25 years. There are no ice machines each floor so you had to go to the third floor or fifth. I went to the fifth floor as our room was on the sixth. However, there ice machine was broken and I had to go to the third floor. The bathroom tile and molding appeared to be in need of a thorough cleaning also. Overall staff was great and friendly. The breakfast was below the standards that I was accustomed to at other Best Western properties, but the price was very good and could not complain. If you are only staying for a night or two it's not bad for the price.

We were in town for a wedding and needed to be close to the BASE so we chose this Hotel...best choice we could have made! The staff was do nice, view was spectacular! Many places around in walking distance to eat. I was excited to see they had a WINCHELL'S donut shop on the corner! All in all this was a great place and I will definitely be staying here again!

Hotel is in a excellent location, has pretty decent views. Breakfast is actually great to be there free breakfast that hotels offer. They seem to be in the middle of construction right now though, so beware there may be noises and smells you didn't ask for. Other than that, great value, nice customer service and central location to the harbor, airport and other great San Diego sites.

Well located for all that Dan Diego has to offer. Located close to downtown and the main airport, with easy access to the interstate road system to head off in all directions. Unlike downtown hotels it offers ample free parking. Reasonable rooms, although the lower rooms can suffer more from the highway noise. Swimming pool and hot tub available until 10.00pm. Again can be a disadvantage for lower level rooms if unsupervised children are using this facility. Coffee available in lounge 24/7, with 24 hr reception. Reasonable self catered breakfast with a selection of cooked foods, etc available. On site self service laundry facility for guests. Whilst we had the use of a hire car, Uber was utilised for reasonable rates to visit local restaurants and the like. We have stayed here many times and consider it good value. Harbour view rooms are worth paying the extra for.

We stayed her for a 3 night break as part of our tour of California. Nice hotel, easy parking and plenty of it. Staff were helpful and pleasant on arrival and throughout our stay. We had a room on the 2nd floor, but with no usable balcony due to being above the main door. Not that it was a major problem, but it would have been nice. Room was big, clean all we could look for in a room other than a room safe.... Pool was a nice size and we made use of that. Also, convenient for getting places. Would stay here again. Only thing is. The breakfast room is quite small and you struggle to get a seat.

Nice hotel close to airport, harbor, downtown, and many tourist sites. Free parking provided. Breakfast included, and it wasn't too bad. Dining area was too small for the size of the hotel. Rooms were fairly large but ours was rather noisy, traffic sounds. Clean, and super staff. The pool si fair sized and located in front of the hotel just off the entrance.The is a seating area out front as well which is nice. Large lobby. Price was fair considering the central location.

Service from staff,excellent, free parking,breakfast included,good position overlooking the harbour.Just great value.It's just a short drive or Uber from the centre (Uber better parking not great).My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and if we visit San Diego would certainly stay again.

We love this hotel. We do with they'd do some updating, but it's within walking distance to great restaurants, close to the airport and other great attractions. You can't beat the view! Yes the traffic can get loud, but believe it or not, it fades to white noise...or at least it does for us.

Have stayed here before as we keep a sailboat accros the street at a marina. We live in Denver. Arrived expecting a bay view room non-smoking (yes, this property still allows smoking!). The door key would not work and had to ask three times at the counter for help. When we did get in, room was a smoking room! Counter manager said I should have booked directly with the property and not through the BW website!. Ended up in a room with two double beds on another floor. The front desk staff is not friendly and the manager looks like he just got out of bed! Moving to the Holiday Inn next door on our next trip.

BW says they have shuttle service. True but only from 7 am to 5 pm. Tough luck if you have an early morning flight headed east, no shuttle service. Breakfast starts at 6 am. Once again tough luck if you have an early flight. Internet connection was sketchy at best. AC had a rattle in overhead and musty smell. Bathroom and room were clean.

This hotel is clean and in a very convenient location near the airport. The rooms are quite small, but most have small balconies with views of the harbor. We stay there often. The breakfast is just adequate, but the hotel is a good deal. Hotels in SD are very expensive.

The hotel was comfortable with small outdoor pool and spa pool which fronts main road but was fine. Safe parking below hotel was good for us as we went out most days. Breakfast was as most us hotels breakfast with good choice. Staff were very helpful and though the hotel is not served well by public transport we had hire car and we were able to get to a variety of places but dud use the hop on off team for 2days which was from old town where free parking made it the best way to see things. Would stay there again as free coffee and apples in the day was a nice touch .

All was good until we tried to check in before 3pm time. we were told it would be about 1 hour before we could get into our room. 4 hours later we got our room. Had we known the amount of time our room would take we would have been out spending $ and enjoying the area. The host should know Most people are there on Vacation our time is precise to us and it should be to you. We will not spend time at This BW in the future. Also there was a Plug outlet that was hanging out the wall and we were there for 5 days. issue was written up first day and cleaning must have taken the paper work, extremely dangerous especially if kids are in the room I did take pictures if required. Other than those complaints, staff good, location good, front desk helpful, breakfast good, quiet location.

We stayed at this hotel before a cruise. Since we flew into San Diego it was important to us to find a hotel that would pick us up from the airport and also take us to the cruise port. This Best Western did it all and both trips were included at no extra charge. The location is close to both airport and cruise port so if, for some reason you want to take a taxi, it should be only a reasonable charge. There are restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, including Mitchel's, Point Loma Seafood, an ice cream place and a pizza restaurant. The accommodations were good. The room was more than satisfactory. The staff were personable and very helpful. Breakfast was good with a decent variety which should satisfy most tastes. Details on the property may be found on their web site, which we found to be accurate. Of course cable TV, WiFi, swimming pool and customer business office are included. We will consider this hotel when our future plans call for a stay in San Diego, California.

We stayed for a few nights at the start of September. A good welcome from reception who answered any questions we had about the area. Free parking for our stay, free wifi, free breakfast (although had to wait to use waffle machine a couple of times). Although you could argue that these are included in the price and not actually free. Nice pool not really cold once you were in. Room was fine with coffee machine and nice to a balcony. Also free tea and coffee available in reception area. Only downside was that it is not nearer the city itself so limited restaurants and no shopping.

A great option for flights from SD Airport,with free parking and shuttle service, free hot breakfast and good location, several good restaurants within walking distance and a nice walking path along the Harbor.

We had a reservation at this hotel and our flight delays prevented us from arriving in San Diego the night of our reservation. We explained our situation so we would not be charged for the night but we were told a manager was not there and nothing could be done. I found this response unacceptable so I would warn others to think twice before booking this hotel. We ultimately paid for this hotel room and the one in Phx where we were delayed for the night.

We were visiting San Diego for family reunions, and needed a hotel near the airport for the last 2 days of our trip. We arrived early, and were very tired. The Desk Clerk was able to find a room already made up and let us check in early! That was great. The room was immaculate, very pleasant and had a little balcony with a little view of the Yacht Harbor. Free WiFi, very nice complimentary breakfast and great staff. For the price we paid, it was a great surprise!

j1. key cards would not work. Had to flag down a housekeeper for help2. toilet paper holder was ripped from the wall and laying on the floor next to the sink.3. Blankets were missing from both beds.4.It took over one hour and several communications to both housekeeping and the desk to get a resolution to these problems.

Went to San Diego Comic Con and this was one of the more affordable options for my group of friends and I while being trolley distance away from the Convention Centre. The hotel is a Best Western Plus. On the plus side we get free breakfast and a pool to use. The breakfast was typical for a BW, though I was sad they had a pancake maker rather than a waffle iron (but that's just a really tiny nitpick). The best part was perhaps the front desk manager. He was always fun to talk to and really made our trip stay enjoyable! The room has an "waterview" which was blocked by the businesses in front of the water. The beds were decent enough. I did not enjoy the bathroom as it was quite dated and needed renovations. The stay was pleasant enough, probably would not be my first choice for hotel though. But if you'd like something budget friendly and away from the hubbub of downtown it's not a bad choice.

The staff at Yacht Harbor are all very helpful, pleasant and professional. They answer questions, and offer suggestions regarding all things San Diego. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a great location to explore San Diego.

This is an average hotel with below average hot breakfast included. The pool is small. The rooms are small. Hot tub was ok. There was a dirty smell from the sink. The plus is that it's very close to the airport and they have a free shuttle. It's on the harbor so at least there's a nice walking spot. Note - this is the harbor, not the beach.

Spent the night while visiting our daughter. Three blocks from her home and across form the harbor. Great sea food restaurants and small shops. Watch the fishing boats come in and unload. Hotel clean, employees friendly and helpful. Great breakfast included.

The desk staff was very nice. Daniel was amazing in helping me with my reservation. The lobby was very nice. Complimentary breakfast was okay. To bad the rooms didn't look as nice as the lobby does. The room had a small TV. The only issues were. The AC leaked while I was gone and it soaked the floor, instead of moving us they used our bath towels. We had to walk on the soggy carpet, the restroom cleaned half fast. The toilet was dirty and the shower plate was off the wall and it exposed the pipping. The sheets had blood on them a bit gross.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel last weekend. We arrived early at the airport but there was no problem catching a shuttle to the hotel. The hotel representative gave us great directions to reach the pick-up point. When we arrived at the hotel, we were able to check-in early; always a great treat. All front desk staff were courteous, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Also, housekeeping provided great service too. The hotel sits in an excellent location just opposite the harbor. We were able to walk over to watch the fishing charters going in and out as well as sailing regattas on the weekend. There are also several restaurants in that area. We particularly enjoyed Mitch's Seafood. Our room was spacious and spotless. It had a small microwave as well as an oversized mini-frig. There was a desk area and, of course, free wifi was included. Each room has a balcony which is perfect in the cool evenings. From the hotel it's a quick walk to a nearby Ralphs grocery where we purchased a few snacks/beverages. The ice machines always had plenty of ice. Our room rate included a great hot breakfast buffet which varied daily. There were always scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit and a pancake machine. The hot items varied each morning: diced potatoes plus biscuits & gravy; then sausage plus tater tots; then bacon plus tater tots. The staff members did a great job of keeping items replenished as well as wiping down tables. The breakfast area is a bit small but an overflow room was set-up next door until renovation of the area can be completed. Speaking of renovations, we were amazed each morning as to the progress being made on re-doing the first floor flooring. The new flooring looks terrific! Also the lobby area is lovely and there is coffee/tea available there 24 hrs. There's a nice sitting area by the pool/hot tub as well as a couple of tables outside the pool area. We definitely enjoyed our stay and recommend this property to others. When we're next in San Diego, this is the place we will stay. Thanks to everyone for making our visit so pleasant!

Our room wasn't ready and we had to leave for our event and clerk said good thing we told him otherwise he'd give our room away because we hadn't requsted late check in! Seriously??? When we did return later that night, our room was on the smoking floor and the floor & room just reeked of smoke. No one told us this was the smoking floor. Ugh. The front desk gave us a new room which didn't have any AC. We were very disappointed in the overall handing of the situation and would never stay there again. Location is great and maybe the place will be better once the remodel is complete - hopefully with new mattresses!

Stayed one night at this hotel. Very friendly staff and comfortable room. Hotel was undergoing a bit of renovation in the lobby, but was clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good and they offer a free shuttle to the airport.

We stayed here for two nights and thought, "Oh well, you get what you pay for" but then found out that our room was $159 a night instead of $159 for two nights. This room wasn't worth $50 a night much less $159. It was terribly loud from construction and noise in other rooms but the worst part about it was how dirty it was (towels and bedding had stains) and the fact that our air conditioner did not work and it was 101 outside! We called for the air to be fixed and the maintenance guy said he was going off shift but would send another person up to fix it but after we called a second time, this never happened. The staff was friendly enough but not one bit helpful. We would never return to this hotel and would not recommend it for your stay. It was the only negative experience we had in San Diego.

If you want to come to San Diego but not for ComicCon, then DON'T come at that time. Hotel rates are through the roof. Because of that, we selected a smoking room even though we don't smoke. Figured we wouldn't be in the room much, my daughter was going to the convention and I was going to spend my time at the pool. We were pleasantly surprised the room did not smell of smoke at all. People must be smoking on the balconies. The room was very nice. The beds were super comfortable, the bathrooms were nice and I liked the signs you could put on the beds for them not to change the bedding every day. The hotel was right on the convention shuttle route. Plus being on Harbor Drive it was very convenient to get to places fast. There was covered parking, which kept the car cool, a grocery store in walking distance, which was nice since there were fridges in the rooms and breakfast wasn't bad. Loved the pancake maker. Best thing was Better Buzz Coffee was a short distance walk. If we ever come back to San Diego we will think about staying here again. The staff was really nice and the pool area along with the entire hotel was very clean.

We made our reservations months ahead when we planned out our trip to Sea World. Pictures on the internet and real time were different. Rooms were very small with need of some upgrading. Beds were comfortable but there was some outdoor (construction) and road noise. A very short walk to several Excellent Restaurants and bay was really nice to walk around and enjoy all the boats. Nice plus is that you are about 15 minutes from Sea World with No freeway driving. Perhaps when the remodel project is done we will visit again.

Dirty, stained bedding ruined it for me. Bathroom was not clean. Parking lot was seedy and had people sleeping in their car. People just hanging around. If I was alone I would not have stayed. The day staff was pleasant.

We stayed here two nights. It is convenient to the airport and the harbor. The staff was very friendly and it was very clean. Our room had a lot of noise due to our neighbor slamming doors and the parking lot being right outside our room, so that made sleeping harder. The pool area is in front of the hotel and it is decent size and water was comfortable, There is also a hot tub and it was nice. We didn't use the fitness center. The breakfast was great with lots of options. There is parking garage under the hotel and ample outdoor space. There are restaurants across the street . Pizza Nova was really good!

We have stayed in many Best Westerns in the USA and whilst the room met our expectations, i have to say it was let down by the poor quality of the breakfast. The room was too small for the number of guests and the quality of the products were poor and very heavily laden with sugar - not much option for those with dietary needs. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was convenient to Seaworld. There were plenty of restaurants in walking distance (do try out Miguels).

Really enjoy this location, and people at desk friendly,, however property in serious need of updating, holes in carpet in room, very worn, then somebody pooped in the pool,, staff was quick to close and they did an amazing job of deep cleaning the pool deck and pool, sadly..us and some other families swam in it for a bit before somebody smashed it with thier foot to the bottom of the pool...it was horrifying!! Threw our swimsuits away and took an extra long scrub in the shower.

Stayed in this hotel because of its convenient location to the airport. Also was able to easily walk to Humphreys Half Moon on Shelter Island for an outdoor concert along the yacht harbor walkway. Hotel needs updating for the price that's charged. Just needs a facelift. Room was clean and bed was okay. Liked the free parking garage.

My husband and I celebrated our 19 year anniversary and stayed here. We enjoyed our stay the room was clean and didn't experience any noise at night. The breakfast looked OK we didn't not stay for the breakfast, but it looked like it can be improved a little more and give the guests more options.

Nice hotel. Friendly. Free coffie and tea troughout the day. Good location. I would grade this hotel 4* without hesitation. However, the streetnoise could clearly be heard in the room. Airport noises could also be heard. Earplugs were needed to sleep. A pity. Modernise the windows with double or triple glazing.

Ease of shuttle transportation is a top factor for me when staying at a hotel pre-flight or post-flight. Best Western Yacht Harbor had top notch airport shuttle service--I was the ONLY passenger both from the airport and to the airport, and pick up at the airport was within 5 minutes of my calling them. Kudos to BW staff for being ready to go when they get a call! Aside from the great airport shuttle service, the hotel itself is within walking distance of restaurants that are on the harbor, with the ambience the harbor provides. And the room was nice, had a harbor view, comfortable bed--all one could ask for in a one-night stay.

Stayed here for 50th b-day celebration. Front desk offered me an upgrade, I am in a w/c for a broken leg. The room was not an upgrade, but actually a downgrade. It was very small. My spouse unloaded our luggage anyway, as we were tired. It was about 30 minutes later I noticed, I had a standard bathroom which I cannot shower in. I didn't foresee this as a problem prior, bc pictures show walk in showers and oversized bathtubs when I made the reservation. So, as I told Supervisor #1. I was told those bathroom facilities were only in suites. This was very misleading. The next day we had lunch at the property, the service was terrible, as was the food, my chips were stale and it took 30 minutes to get our drinks after we received the food. I felt disgusting during the entire trip due to no way to shower, I'm guessing their accessable rooms were full??? It was a terrible trip, and I didn't feel like this property took my needs seriously, and I felt they could have done more to reduce their charges after I complained twice. I hv opened an investigation with my bank. Was never able to speak with the General Manager.

Comfortable bed, quiet room, beautiful view of harbor, clean room, filling breakfast, convenient location, a refrigerator and microwave in the room, a pool, a hot tub. What more can I say? You can't beat the value! Will stay here again. Across the street we ate at Mitch's, great seafood.

Pros: Pool & breakfast. Near marina. Restaurant across the road at the harbour was nice. Near airport but without all the city traffic. Cons: Don't think to drive anywhere in San Diego as there is no place to park. Every street is lined with cars-crazy. Walk to where you want to go.

Everyone was very Kind and Polite. The General Manager went the extra mile to get us another room for a family member that wanted to stay the night with her son so we could spend some more time together. The hotel is a really friendly one. The night before we slept in an Hilton Hotel. And we can say, that the Best Western Yacht is worth each penny we spent. We checked in very early. The rooms were not ready, but we were allowed to park in their garage. Cause we needed to wash some clothes, we asked if we could do it before check in . They made it easy for us. Changed the money for us, because we needed coins. Everything went well. The rooms are really ok. Even we had a microwave, big refrigerator, Balkony. And the room was very clean! Even the remote control was fresh cleaned. In a “better” Hotel i never had a fresh remote control. So thanks to best western yacht harbor crew!

This is not a 5 Star Resort but an exceptional little hotel. We needed a place to stay for the night as we had an early morning flight out of Lindbergh. This place offers free parking for up to 7 nights and only $5 per night thereafter. The rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable and the staff all very nice and friendly. Would I stay again...you betcha. Convenient, clean and comfortable.

The hotel was very easy to reach from the freeway. The amenities were very good and the staff was extremely friendly. The exercise room was good and after the workout a free breakfast was provided. I would gladly stay there again in the future

I chose this Hotel because Best Western for me is always good. The hotel offers free parking which is a big plus. We were greeted by the front desk staff and check In was easy. Our room was spotless and offered a great view. My grandkids were with us so the only thing they cared about was the swimming pool which was great. They offer a morning breakfast which full of great food. Overall the stay was great and would recommend this Hotel.

This is my second stay at this property and both times the customer service was excellent. I mistakenly reserved a single bed while staying with granddaughter. It was caught at check in and while they didn't have two beds available they were able to offer us a king bed for same price.

The room was great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The 2-level parking is adequate. It is near the harbor. The area is nice and clean. The breakfast was excellent. The airport is about 10 minutes from the hotel. We took Uber to the Shelter Island on the Fourth of July Fireworks and walked 20 minutes back to our hotel. The restaurants are near the hotel.

I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel. Only a few mins away from the airport this is situated at such a lovely place, right opposite to the harbour with some amazing places to eat or take a stroll in the evening. I took a bus to La Jolla caves and literally everything is so accessible from here. First day with some advise from Hotel staff i went to Ocean's park to watch sunset, this place is a super happening place and amazing eating joints and bars. Hotel serves simply but lovely breakfast which is great. Rooms facing the harbours with a balcony were the best to enjoy the harbour view. Thanks team for a great stay. Front office staffs were the best!!!

My wife and I wanted to be close to the water for the 4th of July. My wife and I were so surprised when the fireworks were right our window as we watched from the patio. The hotel was just across the street from fresh fish market and seafood eateries. We enjoyed a stroll down the walk way on the harbor. My wife and I look forward to staying some time in the near future. I highly recommend staying at this BestWestern.

It was a great location for most of the San Diego areas. Its a pretty decent breakfast even with an automated pancake making machine! Beach access is not right in front of the hotel, but if you walk across the street and head to the left, there is a wharf boardwalk area with stores and really cool restaurants from cheap to really fancy. There is even a few fish stores where you can pick out what seafood you want and they will cook it for you! Just past this is beach access.

We really enjoyed our stay, and loved the price which allowed us to save enough money to splurge on other things. This isn't a glitzy hotel, but it was clean, the breakfast was as good as a Hampton Inn, and the balcony, outdoor pool, hot tub and free covered parking were nice added features. Almost everything was within 15-20 minute drive from this hotel--Point Loma, LaJolla, Gaslamp Quarter and Coronado Island--and the traffic wasn't bad at all. The bed was pretty comfortable, but the pillows were a little small, but there were plenty of them. There was a little road noise in the morning, but with the time change, we were up anyway. Overall, it's a bargain--we would have had to pay over $100 more a night (plus parking) for the next best Hampton Inn or stay in Kearny Mesa which was a lot further away from all of the attractions.

My room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was traditional hotel food and could be improved. The eating area is very small and fills to capacity very quickly. The hotel is quite close to the airport, and they provide no shuttle service, therefore you are totally dependent on ground transportation. Staff was very cordial and pleasant..

Arrived early afternoon. They had no problems giving me an early check-in. Probably helped being a BW Rewards member. Extremely friendly, helpful staff and check-in was a breeze. for those flying in, they have a shuttle service that you can call from the Airport . The Airport is approximately 3 miles away really quick service. Reserved a King room Harbor View. Room which was on the 6th floor center view with balcony. Room was large, clean, cheerful and nicely decorated. The view was awesome. The whole facility was clean, bright and well maintained. This facility is located across the street from the harbor which is home to many of the sport fishing charter companies, restaurants and shops. All within walking distance from the hotel. It is also located near local freeways which gives quick access to other locations/attractions in the area. There is ample parking, both underground or upper roof area. The breakfast area and service was better than most places. Comfortable lobby area and decent pool area located on front side of building. All in all, great hotel . Will stay there again in the future.

Close to airport yet very quiet location. Close to Sea World and beaches. Close to Coronado island and city. Friendly staff and clean room. Fridge and microwave in room. Balcony off room was great to be able to go outside. Best Western program gives best rate available.

We stayed 5 nights with a large group. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good each day. The pool and hot tub were great. Located about a 10 minute drive from downtown. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

This hotel is very convenient to many San Diego attractions. They offer a good, free breakfast and free parking. Those amenities are greatly appreciated. You can walk to several good restaurants and a few shops. The rooms are comfortable. We really appreciated that they had two luggage stands in the room. It would have been nice if they offered a newspaper.

I really had a great time at this hotel as it is within walking distance to Liberty Stations, Point Loma Seafoods, Ralph's Grocery Store, and Shelter Island. This hotel is very clean, private, and spacious.

The staff was great. The location to the airport was perfect. Good restaurants are just across the street. Reasonable rates. But the hotel is tired. It needs a total refurbishing. We stayed at the hotel on two different dates. On our second visit, we were given a room on the sixth floor. There must have been the hotel's air conditioning unit just above our room. The noise was so loud we could not sleep. Ask for a lower floor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yacht Harbor Best Western. Just a few minutes from the beach, and directly across the street from the harbor. The harbor was a nice place to walk and enjoy the view, with some great restaurants!

The hotel has a great location and beautiful views of the water. Needs new carpet, otherwise fine. There are so many great employees who were very helpful during our week-long stay. At the front desk, Daniel, Celine Ford and Dan Harper-Owen. Jorge the manager was good. And Irma in housekeeping was excellent.

Rooms are okay and very clean, breakfast could be improved, very poor selection and small area that was crowded. Quite close to the airport but otherwise transport is not so good, very hard to get around. Nice view of the yatch harbour. Male staff a bit indifferent.

This hotel is ideal for staying in San Diego. Free on site parking and plenty of it. Right by the harbour and there are a few places to eat there too - we ate in Pizza Nova which was lovely! Breakfast available with a typical selection of cereals, pastries and yoghurts. The pancake machine is handy but there can be a bit of a wait, depends how hungry the person before you is!! Room clean and spacious.

I really enjoy Best Western Hotels and feel they are the best chain around. I appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms, friendliness and hard work of the staff and the heartiness of the breakfast. I recommend Best Western to anyone. I'm also grateful for the government rates and tax exemption forms for federal travel. Best Western Yacht Harbor is close to the bay and great dining opportunities. I will definitely stay there again.

3 families stayed here for 4-5 nights for family events. We were very satisfied with our stay. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful, from front desk to cleaning staff and shuttle driver. Our room was large (we had king room facing harbor); bed was comfortable; fridge, microwave, coffee were good. We didn't have any problems with noise from other guests. Though there was some airplane and road noise, for a city hotel it was reasonable, and it didn't interfere with sleep (and I'm a very light sleeper!). We used the pool and hot tub only a little, but was nice to have. Being right across from the harbor was great; I took several pleasant walks. Great food options too (try Mitches, or Novo Pizza - both were good).

We chose this hotel for the price as it included free parking and breakfast and the hotel did not disappoint. Everything was clean, lots of information and maps etc in the lobby. Breakfast is no full on buffet but it's certainly all you need. You can walk all the way to the hop on hop off buses / USS midway museum easily but be warned it's quite a way but a lovely walk.

This hotel never fails to disappoint. This is our go-to-place for rest and relaxation. Simply awesome location. Very clean rooms, superb staff, well-maintained grounds. Amenities are up to par. Friendly guests and staff!

Awesome property..... caring staff.... This hotel provided transportation from airport to hotel with minimal wait and then from hotel to cruise terminal when scheduled. It was an extremely good stay with free hot breakfast that was very good.

This hotel is within two miles of the airport and allows seven days of parking with a night's stay so it is invaluable. It works out close to the same cost as parking elsewhere and give one an early shot at making an early flight. The shuttle runs only intermittently but Uber or Lyft is about $10 and always available anytime of the day or night.

The hotel was clean and the staff are friendly. It is close to the airport which is the main point why we chose the hotel. There is a serene view of the bay area. There is not traffic in the area. It is also close to convenience stores and other establishments.

Found the property a little run down, one elevator had a very unpleasant odor. There was also a strong smell in our room either coming from the sink or the rug under it. Beds were not very comfortable. Location was on a busy highway so it was noisy. Really did not like that the back door that opened onto the parking lot was always left propped open, seemed like a security risk Breakfast staff was very friendly and did a great job, the food was decent, eggs, biscuits, cereal, muffins etc

Hubby and I came down to welcome our son home from his 7 month deployment. We drove his car to him for his 72 hour leave. We chose this hotel because of location and price AND the free parking, compared to the BW across the street on Shelter Island. Although it is located on a major street and a mile from the airport, we were never awakened by any noise. Extra bonus that we found out upon arrival, they have a free shuttle to the train station downtown (as well as the airport). Score! Free breakfast was nice; eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, oatmeal, toast, pancakes, fruit and yogurt. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, our empty kleenex box didn't get replaced, even though I left it out, the washcloth we left on the floor for replacement didn't get replaced, nor did the used lotion bottle. The bed was firm and comfy and pillows were firm. Walking distance to grocery store, liquor store and lots of restaurants. Bay at Shelter Island right across the street. Would stay here again for sure.

I stayed one night here for a quick trip to San Diego. I was very pleased with the staff and room. It isn't a luxury hotel, but everyone was pleasant and the room was clean and had nice bedding and restroom area. My room was fairly quiet although it faced a busy street. The hotel is close to the airport to be convenient and plenty of free parking available.

Given the location, the room price, the free parking, excellent WiFi, and reasonable free breakfast that's custom at Best Western, there is no better value hotel in that area and/or La Jolla if you can ignore the negatives mentioned below. The hotel is rundown: - My balcony door could not be locked, that's because the balcony door could actually not be closed fully - The TV didn't work, but luckily I didn't care for that at all - The room is clean but not under the beds...

My room was a bit small but thanks to the large window it didn't seem that way. I would have liked to have a view of the harbor but such a room would have been more expensive and since they were probably full, I didn't get an upgrade as an Elite member. I didn't mind though because I didn't spend that much time in the room anyway. It was fairly quiet at night - you do get a bit of traffic noise but not too much. Breakfast and parking is free which is a huge advantage over many other hotels in San Diego. The location is really convenient, especially if you want to go to Point Loma or Sunset Cliffs. Even Coronado Island or Old Town are just a short drive away. Breakfast is your normal Best Western standard. What really set it apart for me was the young woman refilling the food and cleaning the tables. She was always smiling and doing a great job even though the breakfast room was always crowded. Their business center could use an update though. The computer screen looked like it was from the last century.

This hotel was conveniently located. It was easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. The room was very large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was typical of hotels that include breakfast - eggs, potatoes, sausage or bacon, pancakes, muffins, toast, a variety of cereal, etc. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because there were no USB ports in the room, which I've come to expect in a hotel today. It was a spacious king size room with ample room for furniture that wasn't there - maybe a love seat or a table with chairs. My son and daughter-in-law came to visit and we had to bring in the chairs from the balcony so they could sit. Again, this was a spacious room, so there was no crowding even with the outdoor chairs. The view was very nice from the balcony. We would probably stay there again when we visit next.

had no car and got easy free shuttle to airport. On time and friendly driver. hotel room was excellent and large. breakfast was more than ample but room was hot and crowded. we didn't know until after we ate that there was an additional nearby room which was cooler. Breakfast attendant was not on top of keeping tables clean and helping guests.

This hotel was basic. Needs some updates. It was clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was sufficient and the staff was friendly. The location couldn't be beat for touring area attractions. Would stay again.

We had a quick trip to San Diego and I needed accommodations that was in a good location that we could get to destinations from. Literally a 5 mins drive from the airport, it's located on N Harbour Drive and faces the harbour. Absolutely great view. Hotel smelt fresh and clean. It's a bit dated but when it's booked as much as it is it's understandable. The staff was top notch and super friendly. Always had smiles on their faces. If you need a room to sleep, shower and have a continental breakfast this place is for you!

My friend and I arrived before check in time and we had a scheduled event that we had to get to. The concierge was very nice and helpful with our bag and let us keep them there untill we returned later. There was no hassle! I really liked the free covered parking. We were in a nice location which was very close to several nice restaurant and the beloved Starbuck around the corner. It was not to expensive and seemed clean. I would definitely stay here again!

First the pros: the hotel was in a good location. It was within walking distance of several restaurants, within a few miles of the Midway, the airport, the beach, the zoo and the museums. It offered free parking and a decent free breakfast. The staff were all pleasant. The cons: The room was VERY tiny. At least the balcony made it feel a bit larger, but there was no getting around how small it was (this after I was reassured that most rooms were the same size). It had been updated, but the bathroom was old and had some mildew. The air conditioning worked so-so. Although we had a no-smoking room, there was a faint smell of smoke.

We stayed here for 3 nights before joining our cruise from SanDiego. Around 1 a.m. check in was easy and pleasant although the lady who checked us in apparently got our shuttle time request wrong. We were able to fix that though. The room was adequate. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was grateful for the laundry facilities having travelled from Australia. I found the security to be very poor. Pretty much anyone can wander in from the street and the elevator does not require room key credentials. When we arrived the security guy was lounging back watching TV and appeared very disinterested. Didn't feel as secure as I would like. Breakfast was included but on Sunday we had to stand to eat as there was insufficient seating. The hotel is on a great location. Needs some updating in my view but was relatively good value when considering the other hotels in this price bracket. Maybe ask reception staff not to greet guests with “yeah, wassup?”

This hotel was perfect for my stay in San Diego. It includes a free shuttle to and from the airport which was great after a long flight - ring as soon as you land and they will be there in 15 mins. I had a King Room and it was a good size. It is looking a little tired but it was fine. Bed was really comfortable and bathroom was fine - shower pressure was good which is important. The room was clean and included a microwave, iron and board etc. It also had a little balcony (but not a great view). There are washing machines and dryer available (cost) and that was handy after days of traveling. Staff were helpful eg put my money in to get laundry liquid and didn't get any. They refunded my money and went out to get more so I could wash my clothes after my sight seeing. Breakfast is included and was good - some hot options, cereals, bread and bagels to toast, muffins, fruit, juice etc. A great help when you are travelling on a budget. Loved that tea and coffee were available all day in the lobby and fruit on offer too. The hotel is directly across the road from the marina - perfect for walking and enjoying the sunshine. Plenty of great eating options close by and a supermarket a 5 min walk away. Close to public transport to get you into the city itself. Very happy with my 6 night stay.

I stay here when I am in San Diego which is about once a month. It is older but clean and in a great location close to all freeways. The rooms are very functional, clean and spacious. The free internet is a plus. They have a basic breakfast that is included in the price. Lots of free parking. You can't go wrong staying here.

This hotel was in a great location but we may have gotten the worst room.It had a terrible odor, the carpets were frayed and extremely dirty around the perimeter and all of the furniture. We decided to check out after our first night and find something cleaner.

The hotel is clean overall. The area is busy and very noisy. I'm glad I brought ear plugs and a white noise machine to block out outside noise. The staff is friendly. Skip the continental breakfast! The bed's are on the hard side. The room is decent size with a refrigerator and microwave.

Best Western Yacht Harbor was an excellent value to similiar hotels in the area. Great free breakfast - changed daily, but you can expect pancakes or waffles, eggs, hashbrown or potatoes, sometimes biscuits and sausage gravy. Along with cold cereal, bread and pastries, fruit, yogurt, milk, tea, coffee, and juice. In addition to a great free breakfast, free parking was also a nice bonus. Some hotels were charging up to 39.00 a night! The hotel also offered free wifi. The building maybe a bit worn, but the beds were comfy and the room was clean. There were also many shops and food within easy walking distance. Excellent bang for your buck.

I stayed at this hotel for only one night, checking in after 11pm. I was given a room facing the harbor which had a nice view. When I arrived at the room, I realized the staff hadn't written down the wifi password so I had to call to get it. The room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. After finally getting to sleep around 2am I was woken by the most horrendous noise. It sounded like a plane engine in my room. It went on and on but finally stopped. Went back to sleep. Woken again by the same noise and this time I figured out it was the ceiling HVAC unit coming on to maintain the room temperature. I shut the thing off and went back to sleep eventually. Breakfast the next morning was very crowded. Eggs were runny and unappetizing. Grabbed a yogurt and coffee and went back to the room. When I checked out, I told the front desk about the HVAC and I was asked "did you call about it?" I told him it was after 2am and I wasn't going to have someone come service it at that time. I suggested that they not rent the room again until it was repaired. This was probably the worst experience I've had at BW. I use their hotels frequently and usually have a great experience. I won't go back to this hotel.

This is a nice hotel. The lobby has been updated. Rooms are clean but small. Almost all the rooms face a busy road and given the age of the hotel, not much has been done in the way of sound-proofing the rooms. We stayed in room 218 and I had to wear ear plugs to get to sleep. By 6:30 AM even the ear plugs could not drown out the road noise. Rooms ending in 07 or 08 (e.g. 207, 307, etc) face the furthest from the street and may be quieter.

Decent hotel but nothing special. Street noise a bit loud so would recommend getting a room towards the back. Shuttle to/from airport and cruise port the best feature for staying at this hotel. Pleasant staff. No restaurant on premises but would recommend pizza restaurant across the street.

Good place to stay prior to our cruise departure. Fairly close to the cruise ship terminal. Airport and cruise ship pickup and delivery. Good service with both. Was on the main floor for the room. Clean but couldn't leave the door open. Breakfast was available but room was packed with people. Need way more seats but the food was good once you got in there. They kept the trays filled up. Good place to stay. Would stay there again.

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff , good location short taxi ride from airport, there is a shuttle bus but not after 6 pm , lots of eating places within short walk of hotel , rooms are a very good size clean but a bit dated, the coffee and tea in lobby all day is useful also in the rooms, breakfast free is basic but good , short walk two blocks to a Denny's if you need more. Balcony rooms with harbour view are worth booking.There is two local bus routes within a few minutes walk the 28 too the old town terminal, or the 923 into downtown area.

Hotel highly recommended, among other factors, for the advantage of being located opposite one end of the bay. The Airport, the Zoo, the Old Town, Coronado Island, Sea Word, Point Loma, the Downtown are relatively close to the hotel, the Jolla Beach is the tourist pole farther away, it is 30 minutes by car. The registration was quick and simple. In the lobby area there is water and different varieties of coffee and tea. The simple, comfortable and clean room, the air conditioning works wonderfully well, the bathroom impeccable and nothing was missing. Free breakfast and also very good, both for the variety and for the quality of the food products. Scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, bacon, waffles, cakes, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurt, milk ... etc. The price per night, acceptable for the economy of the couple. WIFI and free parking.

We came in on a Tuesday afternoon to spend the week for my son's USMC graduation. 1st-we arrived at the airport and called for shuttle pickup. We flew American and the pickup location was about a 5 minute walk from baggage claim. Our driver, Chris, was AMAZING. He was kind, professional, knowledgeable and a good driver. He went out of his way and even gave us a ride to MCRD for the DI Meet N Greet dinner on Wed. Know this-Uber/Lyft drivers cannot go past the gates but BW/hotels can. That restaurant is not close to any gate and this was a huge plus that he did this for us. The shuttle runs 7-5 and we were at MCRD by 730 Thursday and Friday. Thursday we were easily picked up around 5. Friday we called and the driver was there around 1145ish. My son had run to the PX to replace his cover and took forever. The driver, Daniel, patiently waited for his return as getting back on the base could have been difficult as it was after graduation and not really a public time to be entering anymore. The rooms were clean, no bad smell and the water pressure was great, comfy beds. Bonus-the dressing area is separate from the toilet/shower so easy to share a room. Location was easy-plenty of places to eat close (Mitch's seafood!), Ralphs grocery, and PLENTY of Uber drivers in the area. The breakfast was great. Only thing is they were missing the Texas shaped waffle maker but Ca can't have everything. :) I will say: a waffle maker would be better than the skinny pancake maker and B) on the days with eggs/peppers/onions...maybe some tortillas and salsa. It had all of the makings of a taco and those would be easy to accommodate at not a huge cost. I did use the computer for AA boarding passes and didn't have issues the way another reviewer did. Thank you for a wonderful stay/vacation and making my son's USMC graduation trip a trip to remember!

I have been staying at this hotel for years. They are friendly, amenities are fine and the price is right for a clean slightly aged hotel and rooms. I love the location away from downtown but still close enough to easily visit.

Stayed two nights here whilst on a road trip. Found it to be in a good location very close to lots of restaurants or places to get take outs. The heated pool and hot tub were handy. The gym was basic but used the laundry room whilst here. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the view in the morning overlooking the harbour was pleasant. Our stay was short but sweet. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because compared to other hotels we stayed at there were parts of the hotel that needed a refurbishment such as the gym.

Girls trip to get away from the cold for a couple days. The staff at Yacht Harbor was very nice, accommodating and easy to work with. Only complaint might be the location relative to Harbor Dr., which has nothing to do with hotel staff. The close proximity to the road allows for extra noise from the passing traffic. Overall, a good experience.

The location of this hotel is excellent with several good restaurants within walking distance. The Harbor is pretty and Shelter Island is a great place to walk. You can Uber to The Gaslamp District or Seaport Village for under $10. The property is in need of some updating, and the bathroom is very small. The 2 queen bed room is large and the bed is comfortable. The housekeeping staff was accommodating and pleasant, but the front desk was not. When we checked in at 9:00 PM after a 6 and a half hour flight from Boston, we were told our room was not ready. Apparently someone was given the room, went into it and then decided they didn't like the room, and were moved. The room they were in now became our room and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. The staff should have been more aware of what they had available at that point. The night before we checked out we inquired about a transport to the rental car center at the airport. The person at the desk curtly replied “ we never do that”. A more professional response could have been “no we don't provide that but I can call a taxi for you.” Also the appearance of the front desk staff was not as professional as we have been accustomed to at other Best Westerns where we have stayed. With some training and more effort, this hotel could be a more enjoyable experience.

This hotel is close to San Diego international airport and several great eating places. They are across the street from a yacht club and a fishing boat wharf. I recommend Pizza Nova, (which is Italian food, not just pizza), Jimmy's and Mitch's seafood. They have free shuttle, hot breakfast, parking and coffee and fruit in the lobby. A nice clean hotel with friendly staff.

We just spent three nights at the BW Yacht Harbor. We recommend this property for many reasons. The location is very good and within walking distance to several restaurants...all overlooking the water. The room rates are very reasonable considering the hotel is across the street from a marina with good views. Parking is free as well as wireless (which is more than adequate). The front desk folks are very efficient and helpful. The only downside was the public computer near the lobby entrance. The hardware is antiquated and very slow. It took me almost an hour to print boarding passes for our flight home. Overall, this is a good hotel with clean rooms and comfortable beds. We will stay here again on our next trip to San Diego.

I fly in and out of San Diego frequently, love this hotel. Great staff, good restaurants in walking distance. Perfect stop over or centrally last cared for vaca. Marina right across the street. Never been disappointed here

The hotel itself is OK, but the hot breakfast was really bad, the worst I have encountered in many years - awful scrambled egg, paper plates and plastic cutlery and grotty breakfast room. If this is the 'Best' Western breakfast goodness only knows what the worst one is like.

Booked this hotel for a two night stay and very little to complain about. Hotel was clean, offered a full hot breakfast and the location was in just the right place for business or tourists. Food all within walking distance and a grocery store a block away too. Good Harbor views and the price was reasonable. Out door pool and hot tub, gym and fast Wi-Fi were included... and free parking. One thing that we had a concern with... is that with recreational cannabis now legal in California (January 2018) we had noticed on two occasions during our stay that the Cannabis smell was present and was drifting into our room from the A/C make up air and through the hallways. On our second night at 1:30 a.m. there was such a strong order in our room that we were awaken by it and felt nauseous with the strong odor. Cigarette smoke is bad enough, but the pungent odor of cannabis is even worse. California State and the California Hotel Association along with hotels and their owners should really put a stop to it and require guests to understand that cannabis cannot be smoked in the hotel or any of its public areas including rooms. It will be one of my first questions to management when I am booking any future rooms in California, and if they cannot prevent cannabis being smoked in the rooms or on the property I will not be staying in that hotel. If you smoke in a non-smoking room there are fines levied (with possible removal and eviction) this should be the same for cannabis.

We stayed here for the first time for a family vacation in San Diego. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly & helpful. The location is awesome, super close to sightseeing, downtown, beaches, shopping. The rooms are basic, but clean with fridge & microwave. Breakfast is hot, with many choices. The pool is heated & nice. We would stay there again.

Free parking, free Wifi, free breakfast, and a clean decent room with harbor view, all at a reasonable rate. Our family of 4 stayed here for one night and loved it. Sure the bathroom was a little outdated but service was good and it's right by the harbor where we had a pleasant walk in the morning before breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed one night to be close to the airport. Rooms average, look tired, but had nice view of the harbor from the 5th floor. Never saw or were told about any breakfast offered. Gentlemen at reception very pleasant.

The hotel has a great staff and welcoming lobby and pool. The rooms need updating and remodeling. Carpet is old and worn. Breakfast is great, lots to choose from for everyone in a group or family. The fitness room is old and needs updating.

Lovely hotel with extra friendly staff. I was upgraded to a lovely view. Close to airport and cruise terminal with provided shuttle service. Sufficient good breakfast is included . I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
