Best Western Plus Suites Hotel Coronado Island

As you may or may not know, the whole island of Coronado is walkable, and I find the Best Western a great alternative to the Mega Resorts. Walk a 1/2 mile to the Marriott's or 0.7 mile to the Hotel Del. Also it is very close to the Ferry Landing with its many restaurants. The facilities are nice although the swimming pool was closed at this time, the rooms and bathroom facilities were more than adequate. The breakfast was included and it was adequate.

Awful staff. Didn't know their job description had arguing with the guests, but they did so A+ for that! Would say spend the extra money to stay at Hotel Coronado instead of this place. This hotel isn't worth it!!

Highly appreciated the warm pool, good breakfast but as always lacks healthy options. Good parking and good location for beaches. Area is quite which is a plus as well. I stayed there with my son and you can easily walk down to the beach. Good area for running and they have bikes in case you want to go further without car. .

Great hotel! Friendly staff! Delicious hot breakfast! Quiet and relaxing! The hotel is very clean! The shower had great pressure! Wonderful to have a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave in our room!

The beds are firm and rooms spacious. Lots of breakfast choices including juice and frozen breakfast sandwich. The room is quiet and comfortable. Walking distance to bay. Parking is tight. Pool is shallow and warm, great for water walkers.

The hotel location was excellent and close to supermarkets and shopping. Also close to the ferry to downtown. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was generous and rooms were very clean. Only downside was navigating any TV stations and TV Guide selections. Very difficult and frustrating to use the TV.

Jocelyn is an asset to your company very knowledgeable, friendly from making the reservation on the phone to our whole stay she made our stay memorable. The whole team is great friendly and the hotel is so clean. Would definitely be back

Beds were clean, room was clean and the breakfast has a good variety of food and drinks. Parking was terrible and other guest were smoking on the patio and it smelled terrible. I am not a smoker and do not like smoke smell.

Great location in Coronado that doesn't break the bank. Right off the Coronado Bridge on Orange Ave within walking distance of the Ferry Landing which has lots of shops and restaurants. We stayed in a suite which was very spacious, almost like having a separate bedroom, living room and small service area with microwave and fridge . The free breakfast has plenty of ready to go options to choose from as well as scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. The seating is very nicely arranged with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in the nice courtyard. Plenty of free underground parking. The elevator with windows was an unexpected surprise. The only negatives would be that although the decor in the room was nice I'm not a fan of the color brown (carpeting)and the pool area is small, very basic and kind of weird to get to

This Hotel has just about everything you need. Full Breakfast comes with your stay as well as free parking and a swimming pool!!! The staff are very friendly!! The hotel is conveniently located near the bridge and pretty centered around a lot of shopping and restaurants.

This establishment provided great discounted rates for military and government guests, making it very easy to decide. It is within an easy walking distance to the beach and waterfront. Also, restaurants and shops are plentiful and within walking distance.

On arrival smell of mold/mildew was strong-but we became"nose blind"to it. Low ceiling parking garage with tight parking spots between pillars and other guest rudely take 3 spots by parking crooked. Everything else awesome! Food options like egg, meats, potatoes, hot and cold items, name brand foods, good variety of drinks. Rooms were pretty up to date as far as I could tell. Good location, short blocks away from the bay, shopping, food, and entertainment.

Stayed one night at this hotel prior to going over to the Navy base. First impression of the front office staff was not too good. I won't go into details. They assigned me a room on the first floor where 3 rooms were tucked back away into a dark corner. When checking the back window of the bedroom, which opened to an alley way, it did not lock. I immediately asked for new room. When I returned home a couple days later, there was erroneous charges on my credit card, which was the card I had used at the hotel. All charged within 24 hours after check in. I hadn't used the card for a week prior and no usage after that. Not a good experience, I would look at the many other hotels in the area.

Recently started staying at the BW Coronado after years of staying at the BW near Little Italy. So glad we gave it a try since it's a great location near the ferry landing which is nice to walk down to in the evening and watch the sail boats and enjoy the area. Although it's a longer walk to the beach, it's a lovely walk. No bagged breakfast here, a hearty hot breakfast with plenty of healthy choices is appreciated. Free parking, clean spacious rooms, grocery stores and restaurants within easy walking distance, and a beautiful area to enjoy with plenty of things to see and do. We just park the car and walk everywhere. Helpful friendly staff .

This property needs alot of work from management all the way down. Lots of rich people complain nearby about noise. The views are subpar. Expensive for what it is. I have had 3 for 3 of problems with Best westerns in SD. At this point would not reccomend Best Westerns in San Diego county, CA.

Can't ask for a better location. Short walk to restaurants shopping and to the ferry. Breakfast was excellent, much more then just cereal and fruit. Been sent down to nasni a few times a year. And we always have our company book this hotel.

If you are wanting a good nights sleep, do not stay at this hotel, the Main Street that runs from San Diego to the Navy base runs right next to the hotel - every morning between 4:30am and about 6am the cars, motorcycles and trucks rev engines at the stop light right by the hotel - the noise fills the hotel - great staff but its not that fault The hotel is old and feels less cared for than it should for such a high end location s Coronado.

Pleasant staff. Great location. Clean room. Quiet. On site parking at no additional cost. Included breakfast had a good variety of prepared foods and beverages, as well as cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc.

Overall appearance showed a lot of deferred maintenance. Roof shingles missing, sand bags laying around, towels and containers under ac unit, elevator has temporary certification, old mattresses in parking spaces. Room was comfortable and clean.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely property-soft beds, lovely kitchenette's, great TV and WiFi and so much more. It's beautifully maintained and has so many amenities especially at this price level. We will be back. It's the VERY BEST place to stay in the area!!!

Decent hotel for Coronado as a value alternative to the Del. Breakfast was below avg. Rooms were clean but very dated and clear wear and tear. Free parking is a huge plus! It's fine for 1-2 nights but it's not a luxury hotel at all.

The staff was so kind and cheerful. Rooms were very clean, a little dated…. Proximity to everything we wanted was within walking distance… price was great. Great coffee, breakfast standard faire. The outdoor lobby was very nice quiet peaceful. There is a lot of traffic so ask not to be facing Third St.

Small nice older property, well maintained with easy access to all Coronado has to offer. Breakfast has many choices and is replenished when needed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Coin laundry a plus when on extended travel.

Our experience with this hotel was awful!! Check in staff was rude. Our room was old, dark and dingy. The bed was so old and worn out that it sloped in the middle and our feet were considerably higher than our heads. The bathroom flooded in the night and soaked the entire area, toilet paper soaked, all my toiletries on the counter soaked, towels, floor, toilet, you name it. We called the front office and were told we would need to move rooms and they would bring new keys. We were greeted at the door by a man, Manny, just holding a key out. No apology, no offer to help, just holding two keys...seriously just thrust the keys out in front of him and didn't say a word. We were told our new room was up on the next floor. We had to gather all our belongings and move without so much as a "sorry for the inconvenience." Then we arrived to another dark and dingy room without any smoke detectors....just wires hanging from the ceiling. We went down to breakfast the next morning to be told that it was all gone....even though there was an hour left. We asked to speak to a manager, but were told she wasn't in. I asked for a phone call, never heard from anyone. Our friends were also staying and they didn't even have a shower curtain upon arrival. If you have to get ready to go anywhere, bring your own lighting because it is the worst. We didn't even have our first night comped for the inconvenience. Terrible customer service, terrible rooms, terrible everything.

We love the location. The staff are friendly. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. Bathroom is small but fine. Nice underground parking and elevator sure helps to make getting luggage to and from room.

I travel for the better portion of the year. This hotel is one of my favorites. The location is ideal if you wish to explore the island or catch a ferry to the Gaslamp Quarter. The rooms are deep cleaned and aired after each use. The staff are very welcoming and will resolve any situation to make your stay a better experience. I have not met such caring and dedicated hotel employees anywhere else.

Best Western Plus Coronado Island hotel is one of the most friendly and comfortable hotels I have ever been to. Location is beyond excellent, walking distance to the bay, ferry boat, shops, restaurants. Great breakfast, spacious rooms, great staff, no parking or resort fees. We would recommend to all friends and family and would like to go again on our next vacation.

To say the hotel is overpriced is an understatement not to mention the facilities are old and outdated. The best thing the facility had to offer was their amazing staff. Best Western is not our favorite brand however this location was disappointing. They offer breakfast however there are little to no vegetarian or vegan options which is upsetting giving the price point. Other traveler photos and descriptions of the property are accurate. Not to mention one of our rooms was not cleaned during our stay.

If I described this place as overrated and overpriced, I'd be understating. It's in need of a remodel and countless repairs. It's dirty, dated, and dark. The furniture looks like it was beaten with chains. There's a musty odor in the room. The windows are so dirty. And they're broken, but someone was kind enough to leave a piece of PVC we could use to prop one window open. The listing says the room has two queen beds, but they're full. And the mattresses are so broken! And the bathroom is disgusting! The shower rod is literally wrapped in aluminum foil. The hot and cold controls are reversed in the shower. And there's no fan or ventilation, so the wall covering is stained and peeling. Best Western should shut this place down, gut it, and completely update it.

This hotel was a disappointment. We booked a room through American Express Travel and were expecting a room worthy of the Best Western Plus brand. Instead, we arrived at a motel and were given a fairly run-down room in the 1st floor corner of the hotel. Our very dated room had a window facing a busy road (traffic noise woke us up in the morning) worn walls, worn woodwork, and, comically, some aluminum foil covering the worn out shower curtain rod!? Just outside our room was both a vending machine and the “laundry room” - it was a nook with a washer and dryer. On the upside the room was very clean - or we probably would have left. I don't understand the high rating of this hotel, how it qualifies as a BW Plus (I've stayed at (and love) the BW Plus Sunset Plaza - THIS hotel was nowhere near the same level. Wouldn't stay again, wouldn't recommend.

Juan at the front desk is a lifesaver. Friendly, kind and respectful. We made a reservation for another hotel on the wrong day. We then made a reservation on a third party web site for this location. When we got here we discovered the new reservation was for a month out. Juan jumped right in and he helped us cancel the wrong reservation, get our money back and then gave us the last room. Juan turned a bad afternoon into a positive experience and we are so grateful for his kindness. Great hotel, wonderful location, excellent service, I'd stay here again and will recommend to anyone coming to San Diego

The hotel for the most part was great, upon checking I was notified that masks are still required, however I was not told this before. I explained I did not have a mask with me and they also did not have any that they provided, so it was a little awkward. We were also given a room that faces the main street, it was very loud most of the night not great for 2 small children trying to sleep.

If you want to experience Coronado Beach area, this hotel is in a good location. Otherwise, would not recommend. Very expensive and many problems with the room. Tin foil covering rusted fixtures. Dented and broken cabinets and walls/ceiling. A very small room and small bathroom were disappointing for the price.

Perfect location, clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast. Did not use the pool. Free parking. Beds comfortable, shower awesome, quiet. Close to everything, especially Front street and the ferry to downtown. Our go-to reasonably priced place on the island!

If you're looking for a hotel that treats you like a person instead of a number, then Best Western Coronado is the place for you. I would definitely visit this hotel again and recommend it to both business and personal travelers.

We stayed at this location early in September 2021. It met all of our needs. The location is great - within walking distance of so many things on Coronado. The staff was very attentive. The cleanliness was top notch. Our room was very comfortable. We are sometimes extra pleased with the older hotels because the walls between the rooms are so thick - you don't get any noise from whomever is staying near your room. This hotel, even though it is older, is very clean and well taken care of, so it's a very good choice if you like the feel of privacy. And the street noise was minimum. It is on the corner of Orange Avenue and yes, there is traffic coming and going all day. But it does quiet down very substantially at night. And the early morning commuter traffic coming over to Coronado is not that big of a deal. They did a "grab and go" breakfast due to Covid restrictions. The choices were very good and there was a nice variety. There is a nice courtyard/patio area with some tables where you could eat outside close to the serving area. There were also tables and chairs in the serving area. We love Coronado island and we felt very comfortable and safe while we were there. People were very good about being considerate during the challenges with Covid.

When I booked, I asked for a room on the third floor. What I received was a room on the bottom floor facing the courtyard. The courtyard is the rendezvous for all the smokers in the building and all of the cigarette and cigar smoke kept coming into my room. We even kept both the exterior room and the interior room doors closed and we could still smell it! We ended up canceling our second night and stayed someplace else. This place is a disgusting ashtray and I would definitely not recommend. Unless you're a smoker and maybe then this is for you.

I loved the location - within walking distance to the Ferry, a market and several very good restaurants. The employees were all friendly and willing to help. Their COVID rules are followed except for other guests wearing masks (even though there are signs all over). Totally understand the employees not willing to ask guests to wear the masks with the current mask culture. Took away 1/2 star for no fan in the bathroom. Getting out of the shower everything is damp - the walls, door and door handles. The other 1/2 star is for the fragrance of the toiletries. I used the hand lotion and smelled like my grandpa for the rest of the day, Wish hotels would use fragrance free items instead. Luckily Von's is a few blocks away and had travel size items I could purchase to use instead. I would and will definitely stay here again.

EVERYONE was happy and friendly. Very clean property. Great location. Grab and Go breakfast was awesome! Many choices! We were close to a great Deli, brewery, ferry to San Diego, etc. Bathroom is on the small side, but that was how they used to be! Planning to go again in the Spring.

We'd never stayed on Coronado before, and this hotel made it doable. Free parking meant that we could leave the car parked and walk all over Coronado or take the free City shuttle if we were too tired to walk. COVID meant that the room wasn't made up each day, but if you leave your towels outside the door in the morning, they were gone by the time we returned from sightseeing, and we just asked for a replacement set at the front desk. The room had a Keurig that made in-room coffee so easy, and the front desk would keep us supplied with K-cups and sweetener. Everything was clean and the desk employees were so nice. Definitely recommend!

Excellent hotel. Great rates. Wonderful area. Check in and out was no problem, and the room was exceptionally clean with plenty of room. Traffic was not bad and parking was always available. Highly recommend this hotel if your going to San Diego.

Be aware that this is a small property, walls are very thin and can be noisy. Parking is in basement, dark and scary. Located on the corner of two one-way streets, making getting in and out quite challenging. Traffic on this island is congested and difficult. Also be aware that TripAdvisor did not accurately record my reservations, email confirmation was vague and incomplete and there is little to no way to reach TripAdvisor for assistance or clarification. Very risky way to reserve a room and I am unlikely to use TripAdvisor in the future.

.Excellent Hotel within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff Steve was amazing and extremely helpful. We could see the Coronado Bridge from our room. The pool and Jacuzzi were closed for remolding, but we knew that in advance.

***DO NOT STAY HERE!!! There is no usable pool and they don't tell you that until you get here!! No breakfast either since the area is under construction. WHAT ARE ALL THE KIDS IN THEIR BATHING SUITS GOING TO DO TODAY??? And the best western management doesn't seem to care. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

We decided to have a family trip to Coronado California. After asking our friends who lived there they recommended Best Western! We were greeted by friendly staff and a very clean place to stay. When we come back we will definitely be staying here again.

We usually stay at Best Western hotels. This one is not typical of other properties. Positives: “free” parking; towel hook on door; nice bath products, location. Negative: loud a/c; stingy with amenities. 1 Kcup regular & 1 decaf. Had to ask for more since they won't service the room with a 2 night stay. Ice machine only on 1st floor. “Grab & go” breakfast lackluster at best. (2 weeks ago I had a prepared breakfast at a BW near Pismo Beach.) 2 small pillows on King size bed. Had to ask for 2 more. Pricey although Coronado isn't a bargain. Only one plug on the bedside outlet was functional so it's either use the lamp or the phone charger. Pool/spa closed & we weren't informed until we arrived. Refrigerator was turned off upon arrival. Couldn't it have been a little bit cool? Neutral on sleep quality. Bed is OK but it's too loud to run the A/C overnight or open a window. Since we stayed 4th of July weekend, they imposed a 30 day cancellation policy. That's excessive. I'll stay elsewhere next time we staycation in Coronado.

The pool and hot tub were not available due to construction. Had no heads up this was the case, else we'd have stayed elsewhere. Found out this has been the case for the last 3 months! And this was 4th of July weekend - when the hotel doubles their prices! The "continental breakfast" was a joke - let's call it a 7-11 snack bar (and that's being generous). Besides the ice machine out of service and numerous other issues with the room - we cut short our trip and left the next day.

We have stayed here numerous times in the past and it was always great. Not this time. The sack breakfast was terrible. No maid service (room cleaning, bed making, towel exchange, etc.) was provided even though we stayed 4 nights. COVID was the excuse given for these shortfalls, even though we have stayed at 2 other BW hotels in CA during the past year that provided maid service and hot breakfast. There was no corresponding reduction in room rate to match the reduced service provided here. Avoid this place unless it returns to its previous level of service and breakfasts.

Everything was great! No complaints about the room (or anything really), staff was amazing and friendly. Parking was a little tight, but expected for the area. Lots of things within walking distance! Good location!

My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights the locations is great however the rooms need to be updated and they only give you two pillows. The A/C is loud and the lamp was broken on my bedside. We have stayed here before and loved the place but they had a good free breakfast and our room was clean daily. Since Covid the breakfast is not so good at all and the rooms don't get cleaned however they charge you the same prices for less.

I had this picture in my mind that this place would be nicer because of Coronado. The location was great but it was a tight fit. Everything felt like space was limited in the room and out on the property. Parking was tight of course as well. The bed was comfortable and the room was just a bit noisy due to other guests outside the room.

5 star experience at what is considered a 2 star hotel. This has to be one of the best experiences I've had at a Best Western. The staff went above and beyond to make our date night enjoyable and hassle free.

This was a great property location and we had an enjoyable stay. Underground parking was iffy but doable for my F-150 truck, The facilities are well kept in and attractive setting in a very good location.

The room was very nice. Front desk was very helpful with information. Central location on the island. Could walk to a lot of places on Orange st. All the staff was polite. If you want a central place on Coronado this is it!

My family and I stayed at this establishment at the end of July of this year. We were looking to explore the other side of the island and the hotel looked nice; we had never stayed there before and never will again It started with a rather unhelpful conversation at the front desk, then proceed when we asked where the elevator was located and we were rather harshly told, "it's right in front of you." That was before we had even gotten to the room and the experience fell drastically below our expectations from this point on. The room its self was, to put it lightly, loathsome. The room was entirely awful and tiny; with only two pillows per bed and a microscopic restroom, we were disenchanted with our stay. The terror truly started that night though. There was loud (not to mention distasteful) music at all hours of the night and smoking right outside the door perpetually. This Best Western offered breakfast; but due to COVID-19, you simply point at what you want behind glass. There was a limited and ice cold selection of which, a chilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich was a highlight, this is rather sad to look back on. We later stayed that the Hotel Del Coronado, which I remind you is under construction. We were absolutely delighted with the selection of activities, not to mention shops, restaurants, and a three minute walk to the ocean. The history and beauty of The Lady by the Sea is something we aim to return to again and again for years to come. In conclusion, that Best Western was the single worst stay we have ever had in our collective memories. It made the trashy inner city motels and the Holiday Inns seem quaint and of a better time. We will never stay again and thinking of it brings back memories of a cheap, unacceptable, and just plain sad ordeal. Please, I urge you do not stay at simply shameful location.

I was very phrased with how nice the last was who had checked me in she gave me some idea where to eat and location to go surf!! She was so sweet the girl was very quiet I only heard one loud thump once in the week I was in this hotel. I find that amazing.

I hope you get checked in by Juan because he is the best! The staff and service here is great!! I came here for my wedding and this was the most perfect room to get ready in. My room had a balcony with the best view ever!

This hotel was actually a huge surprise. We booked it at the last minute to enjoy a long weekend get-a-way and enjoy the sun and beaches. Our hotel was two blocks from the beach and a short 10 minute walk to the ferry dock and shopping area. The staff was extremely helpful and couteous, and our room was large and clean. Microwave and refrigerator worked perfect. We will definitely book this hotel again in the future.

Basic king hotel room (they have larger suites) PLUS refrigerator, microwave, wet bar sink, full breakfast, snacks in lobby, guest laundry, pool, jacuzzi, bike rack, rental bikes, ample free parking, free wifi. HBO. Short walk to Boney's and Smart & Final markets, restaurants, and the ferry landing. On main drag, but I didn't notice street noise. 3 min bike ride or 11 min walk to my conference hotel (Marriott). The views are 2 blocks away.Best deal in town. When I'm in a conference all day, I don't see any sense in paying high rates for a room I will barely use. I enjoyed cycling back and forth, especially the coastal route.

Nicer on the outside than on the inside. The property itself is attractive and stylish on the outside. The rooms are clean, but very dated and haven't been upgraded in a long time. The front desk staff during all shifts was very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond in answering my question about nearby restaurants - giving details of the restaurants to help make my choice instead of just pointing me a block to the right. My gripe is with their policy of turning off the in-room refridgerator between guests. You think it's broken and it smells nasty like shut-off fridges do. I made a point of reporting it to the front desk, but they told me I just have to turn it on because their policy is to shut them off. If I hadn't gone out of my way to report it and find out I needed to turn it on, I probably would have just assumed I didn't have a fridge and then not be able to keep the drinks I brought into the room cold. The rooms themselves on the inside are quite dated. For example, there was a very old DVD player (I think) by the TV. The toilet ran all night because the flapper needs to be replaced. I had to plunge my hand in the tank after flushing every time to get it to close, and even then the seal often broke and it ran all night. Overall, it's a good value if you want to pay under $200 a night on Coronado instead of paying $800 a night at the resorts and you can look past the nit picks I listed above.

This BW is one we would return to for its location easy to explore Coronado Island & easy to get to locations in San Diego -it is within walking distance to restaurants & water sights -staff were very friendly & hotel was very clean

I came for a conference on Coronado - The Best Western is very conveniently located. Easy walk to Marriott's Coronado and to the Ferry to San Diego, short drive to Hotel Del. Breakfast is included and quite nice. It is a very good value for the pricey island of Coronado. It has a hot tub and a small swimming pool but no work out room.

Located right on the main avenue for Coronado and just blocks from the ferry terminal and only a smidge further from downtown Coronado., this is a really convenient location. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating. We checked in early and were still able to get a room right away!! The breakfast was good and items were varied each day. If you like quiet, then be sure to ask for a room that does not face Third Avenue as that is the main artery into Coronado and the naval base. Parking is underground

Because of our flight schedule, we arrived early at San Diego and therefore at the motel early. No room ready, but they offered to store our bags while we went walking and explored. When we came back, the very friendly front desk receptionist assigned us to a room which she thought was prepared. It wasn't, and when I went back to reception, she assigned us another room, which was made up and better. The room decor seemed dated, but it had a fridge which we made great use of as we were there for more than a week. The breakfast room is not large, but the items are well stocked and some of the hot dishes varied each morning. The location on Orange Ave is an easy walk to the Ferry Landing and view of San Diego, and only a 20 minute walk to the beach. And when we were using a rental car, it was easy to access the Coronado Bridge, both heading to San Diego and returning from. We had a room on the back corner so didn't hear any street noise. The hotel is also convenient to dining establishments and a local market with a deli that made great sandwiches, all only one block away. We were seniors who were also very comfortable walking out and about in the evening. Very helpful and prompt attention on check-out as well.

Close to everything very walkable. Good off season rates. Staff very helpful with local information. Would use this hotel again. Easy access to San Diego and airport. Located off main road into town. Very quiet.

I stayed at this Best Western during a Xmas trip to visit my son in the Navy. The hotel is clean, bed was really comfortable, a full breakfast was offered. My only recommendation is to have a few more plants around to enhance the courtyard. It seemed a bit austere and is very small. . But then, I visited in December.

We will be returning ..absolutely the best. Great location easy walking to many parts of around us. Bus near by to go to Del Coronado Hotel and shops in area. Stunning sunset view from room with balcony.

We wanted to enjoy a nice stay at the hotel and ended having to leave before check out time as they started cleaning our room while we were at breakfast so we had to leave the room before we were ready and before check out time. Nice hotel but the housekeeping staff has communication issues!

hotel is a 5 minute walk to the ferry so convenient, very quiet and clean, one of the best breakfasts at a best western i've had. also a few feet away from a store if you you need something. nice restaurants are also nearby

The room and property had a very strong, unpleasant smell - like chemicals being used to cover up the smell of smoke. The traffic noise was so bad that we hardly slept a wink, even with earplugs. The shower was leaky. There were no recycling bins. we had trouble connecting to the wi-fi. There is free parking, which was nice, and some complimentary items for breakfast.

This hotel was awesome and one of the more reasonably priced hotel on the Island of Coronado! Hotels are just expensive in Coronado! The breakfast was VERY good and offered several healthy options. I don't eat carbs/gluten or sugary foods! The options were very creative such as green beans and scrambled eggs, guacamole, fresh salsa, lower sugar greek yogurt options, fruit water, and fresh fruit. We will stay at this hotel on our next visit to Coronado to visit our son in the Navy!

Central location. Free parking. Great staff. Drinks and snacks in the lobby. Clean property. Large rooms. Walking distance to bay, shopping, restaurants and beach. We always feel confident when we stay with Best Western!!

We had such a nice stay. We loved the location - we could walk to some good restaurants and also had a nice walk along the harbor. Our room was very nice and there was a good selection for the breakfast. The staff was very helpful and we appreciated that they could give us good restaurant recommendations.

The room was a great value and the location was excellent. A short walk to the beach. breakfast choices were tasty and of excellent variety. overall a great place to stay and would visit again when in the area.

we had a very unprofessional, untrained, front desk employees on check in. We had personnel damage to bathing suit, we checked out being told it will be told passed on to up line management !! The ice machine outside the room was so loud we ask for another room and were told by front desk no else had ever complained before, so I expressed and told them, well I hope I am the first and your last.

This Hotel was in a great location. The Room was clean and large. Staff was friendly and so helpful. I enjoyed my stay at this location. I'm so happy I chose to stay at the Best Western as this is one of the first times I've stayed in their hotels

We are repeat guests. Love the rooms with the separate seating area. Nice courtyard and daily breakfast has many options. Lobby has snacks and computers if needed. Staff has always been friendly. We use the ferry and also walk to the beach every day. There are several restaurants, grocery, and liquor store nearby as well. Just an overall great location.

Many beautiful properties on Coronado! The Best Western @ Orange and 3rd offered the best price/value for access, shopping, strolling, eating establishments and membership points, Highly recommended, Entire staff encountered were professional and attentive.

The room was clean, free parking, free internet, free breakfast. Compared to other hotels that charged 40/day parking this was a bargain. Great pool and hot tub. Small but heated. Coronado island was so beautiful and like a small town feel.

Conveniently located near the beach. Beautiful views, spacious rooms, and super comfy bed! Free hot breakfast was awesome. We had eggs, bacon, French toast, grilled cheese, cereal, coffee, and salsa and guacamole. It was great!

I had such a great stay at the Bestwestern Plus, great location, great service, beautiful clean rooms and I was given an amazing upgrade! So I added 1 night in my King Suite! My daughter is stationed on the Island so it's a perfect location and easy to and from the base! Close to the shops and restaurants, the breakfast is amazing as well!! I will be going back for another stay!

This hotel was perfect for our stay. It was within our budget for the island. Conveniently located and walking distance from Ferry Landing and downtown. Great restaurants surrounded us. Hotel was quiet, clean and they have a fantastic hot breakfast available very early in the morning. Suites were very nice.

We love Coronado and have stayed at 5 different hotels. They all have their plus's but if you are looking for clean, good location, amenities, quiet, comfortable, free underground parking, breakfast, reasonable price and a pleasant staff, check out this Best Western. It is NOT on the beach but the beach is less than a mile away. The 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. It is very close to the bay. Our room was great. Our breakfast was as expected. We only eat cereal anyway. But they had a few nice extras for the cereal. I would select this hotel again. The price was great for the area.

August, 2019 This would be our second trip to Coronado, California. This time around we elected to choose the Best Western Plus Suites Hotel on Coronado Island, Orange Avenue. We usually book an airbnb yet found the amenities of the Best Western to be attractive. Our decision to book here was based on location, pricing, parking arrangements, and complementary breakfast. We were assigned a very comfortable room tucked away on an outside corner of the building, second floor. We found our room equipped with a King-sized bed, large bathroom, private patio, wide screen TV, black-out drapes, and top quality linens, bedding, and towels. Being breakfast people, we looked forward each day to the wonderfully prepared breakfast choices; waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cereals, breads, rolls, juices, coffee, yogurt and more. The kitchen staff worked hard to ensure that the breakfast fare was replenished quickly. I must say that their coffee was some of the best I have had in a long time. Their breakfast room was set up adjacent to the various food self-help tables. An open air patio was also available for breakfast and was located just outside of the food area. More than ample tables and chairs were found every morning. With the exception of one day, we had breakfast every day at the hotel. On several occasions I had to interact with management for acquiring travel info at the front desk. Hotel reps were more than pleased to assist me with responding to my questions all of which I found quite refreshing. A free bus shuttle stops 1/2 block away from the hotel and will take you all the way down Orange Avenue towards all of the many shops and restaurants; a great way to get around! During the week, we hardly moved our car from the garage. We did take a beautiful drive over the Coronado Bride into San Diego for dinner. Other day trips included the Hop-On, Hop-Off trolley which stops at all of the various towns in Coronado Island and is highly recommended. We also used Uber and found them to be very helpful. The Best Western is very close to the famous Hotel Coronado and the ocean. It's also centrally located to many retail shops and restaurants along Orange Avenue. Again, we enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to these amenities which was the primary reason we booked it. It must be noted that Housekeeping did a splendid job of making up and cleaning our room each day; they were meticulous with their work! Wi-Fi could use some improvement as we encountered difficulty in connecting. Otherwise, the Best Western Plus Suites Hotel Coronado is highly recommended for those needing to relax in a great location when touring the area.

After languishing to find a reasonable priced hotel in that area we found Best Western Plus Suites Hotel Coronado Island. The breakfast was not just the boring waffles, toast, and juice. This was a full hot breakfast, with real bacon, sausage, eggs, yogurt, etc. A couple of not expected items mixed vegetables and grilled cheese sandwiches. Did not try the veggies but the grilled cheese was very good.

very nice room, comfortable and cozy. bed was nice but small (full i think). breakfast was wonderful every morning. nice location, within walking distance to just about everywhere. plus free bus shuttle during summer months. pool was nice and jacuzzi was nice and warm. overall a very nice place. staff was also very helpful and nice.

The hotel is in an awesome location- a short walk to the Ferry Landing, multiple restaurants/bars, and shopping. During the summer months a free shuttle will take you to downtown Coronado, or during an off peak time the local bus is an option. We really enjoyed the small town vibe of Coronado and this hotel provided us with free parking, complimentary delicious breakfast, and a quiet room. The pool and hot tub are not huge, but traveling with kids it's better to have a pool than not. We had a two double bed suite, which was roomy and super clean. The only drawback was spotty wifi and the cable went in/out at times.

Smaller, clean hotel. Great breakfast with lots of good food to fuel up for the day. Staff was nice. Great location in a beautiful little town. Kids liked the pool and hot tub. Our room wasn't a good location..... room 120. Bottom floor so can hear everyone above you and right along a busy road so 6am cars and motorcycles woke up us. And we had to keep room temp on 65 just to be comfortable and not that hot outside. Would stay again but ask for a different room.

Best breakfast offered among all chains of Hotels. Very friendly and helpful employees from kitchen staff to room service and reception. Never had a complaint with any. Concessions were convenient and the offer of a free pass to a gym was very appreciated.

Hotel is in a great location. Parking lot is small, parking garage has several spots but driveway is super steep. It could cause damage to your car. Breakfast is great, lots of options for everyone, kids and adults. Close to downtown and restaurants. Rooms are large and we did not hear any outside noise.

I had issues with check in - check out was very good. The check in clerk couldn't find my reservation and when he did he said it was under today's date. When I asked hi what date he thought it should be under he just looked at me. He said he had just got off the phone and was still thinking about the call he had been off. After providing a credit card for incidentals and reminding him the room was being paid with Rewards points he later proceeded to apply $437 dollars of charges to my credit card. My bank emailed me for confirmation of these international charges or I would have not found out. The check out clerk the following day was very helpful and made sure the charges had been reversed. The room did didn't fit right and light was shining through on all 4 edges of the door. Breakfast was very good and well stocked. The location was excellent. The air conditioning was both quiet and effective.

Family had great time in Coronado, space was perfect for our family. Food selection was good. I took 1 point away because, 2 front desk employees were not at all familiar with food near by. pool is much smaller than it looks in pictures.

Had a two night stay here on the final leg of a Californian tour. The hotel was clean and tidy, the room was large with comfortable beds. Breakfast was included in the stay and was a buffet style with hot and cold food served in the dining room. Could not fault this breakfast, lots of choice and really delicious. In the hotel reception there was fruit, biscuits, tea and coffee available 24 hours. There is also a small swimming pool which I did not use. All hotel employees were friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend a stay in this hotel which I personally could not fault.

Ive stayed at this BW multiple times for various reasons over the years and it remains a good constant in Coronado. Easy to walk to anywhere in town /(Coronado is a walkers kind of town). Easy to catch the seasonal shuttle as well. Room was still being cleaned when I arrived but I was given the room next door that was ready. Discovered that I left my tablet there but was able to retrieve it easily a few days later when I called!

Hotel is dated and loud. Location is good for the island with easy walk to park and restaurants. The hotel is on the Main Street and starting around 5 am it gets very loud. Staff was very nice. Pool is small and hot tub max of 3 people. Breakfast was good.

Nice place , rooms are spacious and well appointed, good location close to the harbor, right on Orange St. where there is a free Coronado shuttle bus that is very convenient for seeing the rest of the island, good breakfast, friendly staff...but a very slow, old elevator and only one, so it takes a while to get to main floor and to the parking garage.

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Good food and drinks served with in walking distance. Staff made arrangements to park my full size Suburban in a safe location as it would not squeeze into the parking garage.

This is a wonderful location, close to everything fun to do in San Diego. It's a short walk to the bay where the view of the city is phenomenal, especially at night. We highly recommend this property.

Hotel is in a great location. Step outside to numerous dining options and a short bike ride away from the beautiful beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and comfortable. This hotel made our stay comfortable and memorable.

stay was very nice. location is excellent. walking distance to centennial park where you can view the downtown and coronado bridge. Near to coronado beach as well about 1.5 miles and silver strand beach about 3-4 miles. Breakfast was very good with lot of variety each day (stayed for 2 nights/ 3 days).

While the hotel was convient to many locations and had a well-kept apperance, some of the rooms are VERY noisy from the traffic. We stayed in room 121 which was right by the main throughfare onto the island. Traffic noise is awful from 4:30 in the morning to about 7:30 am. Even though we were told the rooms had double paned windows, it did not in any way curtail the noise. Would I stay there again? Probably not because I don't think I want to run the gamit of getting one of the front facing rooms.

Great location, close to ferry landing and downtown - great for walking! Good breakfast, wonderful customer service. We had a very comfortable room / love the citrus shampoo and conditioner and enjoyed the Keurig machine in the room.

I wanted our vacation to San Diego to feel like a vacation and not a business trip and Coronado gave us that vacation feel. Best Western Plus Suites Hotel Coronado Island allowed us to stay in Coronado without breaking the bank. It's location was within walking distance of many restaurants and the walk along the bay where we could see San Diego's lights at night and the sunrise over the city in the morning. The hotel is also a very short drive (or a longer walk) from Imperial Beach and all the shops and restaurants in that area. The hotel's breakfast was included and it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever experienced. They provided several hot food choices (buffet style) ranging from bacon and eggs to grilled cheese sandwiches and quesadillas, make your own waffles, cereal, and many continental breakfast choices. The staff at breakfast were wonderful! They were kind, courteous, helpful, and genuine. The hotel is older and the rooms are older, however, every day our room was cleaned, beds made, towels replaced, toiletries restocked. The service was top notch. I hope the hotel owners appreciate their staff because the staff really goes above and beyond to make the stay as nice as possible for all guests. If we are ever fortunate enough to get back out to Coronado, I would start by booking my room at Best Western Plus Suites Hotel Coronado Island.

Last time we came to Coronado we stayed at the Del, but did not want to pay $400+ this trip. We chose the Best Western and it was perfect! We were only there one night but used the laundry, pool and parking, as well as the breakfast. The front desk staff were so nice, and the hotel is basically across the street from Coronado Brewing which made it very convenient. Had some concerns about facing the main intersection, but we were on the 3rd floor and couldn't hear a thing. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Coronado.

Loved this hotel.. reasonably priced, very clean with a Wonderful and helpful staff. Within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. Stayed here before going on a cruise and I wouldn't mind going back!!!!

Best Western Suites Hotel Coronado Island is our favorite place to stay in Coronado! The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay the best that it can be! The breakfast buffet is wonderful....the hot food is delicious and there is something for everyone! Our room was always clean and welcoming after a long day out and about. We highly recommend this hotel! We are already looking forward to our next visit:)

Stayed here as part of a mini holiday. Weather for the time of year was pleasant during the day, but bring a jacket for the cooler nights. Location was walking distance (five minutes) to bars and restaurants near the ferry between Coronado and San Diego. Visited the air and space museum in Balboa park. Pity work was being carried out at the car museum next door the day I visited. USS Midway gives a great view of the bay and informative demonstrations by ex-serviceman. Kids will have a ball on simulators and actual cockpits of some of the static displays. Going in January it was easy to find parking for a coffee or a bite to eat. Peak season you would struggle though. Stopped by the Marine Leathernecks air museum at Miramar (old Top Gun school) while not to the same quality they were the staff (ex-Marines) were helpful and even shared a story or two. Being next to a Marine base you get also to see some of the newer toys they get to play with.

I recently spent five nights at this Coronado Best Western Plus Suites hotel. It is one of the few remaining hotels that has both smoking and non-smoking rooms, so you have to make sure your preference is correctly obtained. The suite was large and had great amenities. A refrigerator, microwave, and bar sink made a great refreshment area. The living room space was large, had a large screen TV, comfortable sofa-bed and chair with two foot stools. The king-size bed was comfortable and the room had ample storage with a great bathroom. My husband would have preferred an electrical vent fan in the bathroom, but I wasn't inconvenienced by steam. The bathroom products were excellent. Everything was really clean and our room always smelled good upon entering. No moldy smells! Daily breakfast was a joy. Included with the cost, there was something special everyday. I loved the tamales and my husband really enjoyed the scallop potatoes. The breakfast room lady, I think her name is Delfina is delightful. Very helpful and sweet. She kept a clean well stocked kitchen. While I wish they had a workout room, they keep bicycles on the premises to use. Coronado is perfect for cycling. The pool is small but adequate and the ocean is blocks away. The staff is friendly, helpful and works hard to keep this hotel in good order. I will definitely stay here again. I had a great stay.

Nice people! The front desk and housekeeping staff were delightful and aimed to ensure we were comfortable. Awesome free hot breakfast!! Eggs, bacon, pancakes and waffles. Additionally many choices of cold cereal. Hotel room is small but a solid value.

This was walking distance to the resturants and the beaches. It was close to action walking either way of the street. We did t have to worry about parking because the room had free parking. Real easy to find.

The hotel is located on the “Main Street” of Coronado Island situated in a mix of residential and commercial shops. So it's convenient to get to the Del Coronado and the shopping end of Orange Ave without being in the congestion. Parking is at a premium so it's nice that the hotel has underground parking (albeit a tight fit). The hotel is well maintained and the staff was very pleasant. Our room was toward the back so quiet from street noise and roomy. However the noise above, on either side and in the outside walkway was very noticeable. The toiletries were of nice quality and free battles water was provided. We had trouble obtaining and maintaining a secure WiFI connection. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of hot and cold items. The breakfast room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The problem was it is small. If the weather is nice thee is a nice outdoor patio. During our stay it was too cold to sit outside and seating inside was a challenge.

This was our second stay at the BW+ in Coronado and again we had a pleasant stay over the holidays (Christmas). The room we had this time had a balcony and a king sized bed. Definitely worth the price and free underground parking just off 3rd which is the main road in off the bridge.

Comfortable rooms, quite clean, and no significant issues. We found the neighborhood quiet and relaxing. Shops and restaurants within an easy walk. I LOVED being able to take the ferry to San Diego and back. Breakfast was quite good for this price range. Staff was very nice. Borrowed cruiser bicycles (free), and internet worked well for me. If the star rating was strictly for value, it would be five stars.

An older property that has been kept up well. It's in a good location, easy access to the bus, within walking distance of the Coronado Brewing Company, and a short jaunt to the Hotel Del Coronado. We really enjoyed the complementary breakfast each morning, which had a slightly varied menu each day.

This small and well appointed hotel is the best bargain on Coronado Island. Yes I know it's not an island but it feels like one. The staff were warm and inviting and the breakfast was fabulous. I actually arrived on the night of the "Great flood of 2018" and the next morning the staff were busy cleaning up the debris and making the tile walkways safe for guests. The rooms are well equipped and beautifully decorated. Unfortunately there is little to no view but watching the water rise on the Orange Street, the main street in Coronado, was quite interesting. (BTW before someone criticizes me for my comments on the deluge, I was visiting my daughter who has some flooding at her condo but all is well now for her as for the rest of the residents) I highly recommend this hotel for singles or families.

Stayed here 4 nights while at a conference in San Diego. The location was perfect, short walk to the ferry that goes directly to the convention center. Being on the island was much quieter but there was still lots to see and do at the ferry landing and it was a quick trip to Sand Diego. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, lots of hot and cold option. Also lots of places to sit either inside or in the courtyard. Staff was super friendly. Will stay here again for sure.

Great location with ample parking and free! You won't find parking anywhere on this island on Sat or Sun. At Best Western, you drive right in. Breakfast was incredible with tons of choices that both adults and kids will like. Even grilled cheese that was wrapped so you could snack on it later. Rooms were very clean with nice lighting. Now there is really not a view but honestly you can walk anywhere for a view. This hotel is too convenient to pass up. I'd absolutely stay here again.

Nice large clean rooms that were very comfortable and quiet, free parking, great service, walking distance to shops and beach. Free breakfast is always a plus and it was really good.Plan on bringing the kids next time so they can enjoy the pool and hot tub and everything else on the island.

Stayed her for two nights on a business trip. Great location and a great price (comparatively). The breakfast was super and the entire place was very clean. Service was excellent for me. *Internet was a little slow but I survived. I'd stay there again. Close to the park, ferry, and a cool brew pub/restaurant.

Most of the places to stay on Coronado Island are smack dab in the middle of residential areas as is Best Western Plus but there is free parking staff is very friendly they offer snacks and they have a pool but the best part for me about Best Western is their beds are very comfortable. Becoming a Best Western Rewards member gives you little perks and we were upgraded to a suite. And I've stayed at a few Best Westerns they most of the time offer free breakfast but this one tops all that I've had, excellent breakfast and different choices each day, clean, quiet and within walking distance to some very good restaurants, Brewery, and the Ferry Landing. I love Best Western and I definitely will come back to this one it was a great stay and beautiful weather most of the time you can always expect great weather here.

The customer service was very good. The staff is friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. Those are my main concerns when staying anywhere. The hotel is within walking distance of the ferry pier which has shopping, activities and some nice restaurants. It's a short (5 min) drive to the famous Coronado beach, which is famous for a reason. It's beautiful and clean. The breakfast at this hotel was exceptional. It had lots of choices and was very good! Closes at 9 a.m. on weekdays though so get up early. It's worth it!

This hotel is a couple of blocks from Centennial Park and is one the most reasonably priced hotels on Coronado Island. Dozens of restaurants and shops within a 5-10 minute walk of the hotel. Downtown Coronado and Coronado Beach are about a 25-30 minute walk. Additionally, the San Diego-Coronado Ferry is only a few minutes walk as well. This hotel is not fancy, but it's clean and charming with great service. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. I would definitely stay here again.

Suited our purposes perfectly. The staff couldn't be nicer. Breakfast options included hot food (eggs, turkey bacon, potatoes), fruit, yogurt, cheese sticks--lots of choices. The lobby had other snacks, like crackers and mints. And it's a short walk to the ferry landing, which was great for me because I was attending a conference downtown. There are also bikes you can borrow to cruise along the water over to the Hotel del Coronado and the beach.

I've stayed here on multiple occasions and have always had a great experience. Easy parking, excellent location and overall value. Walking distance from a ton of great restaraunts and the bay. Large clean rooms. My first choice when staying on Coronado.

We had an enjoyable stay at Best Western Plus, Coronado Island. The hotel was reasonably priced for Coronado and pretty well located. We stayed in a second floor, balcony room (201) facing Orange Ave. and didn't have a significant problem with noise. The bed was comfortable, the staff did an above average job and the breakfast was far above average in food offerings and quality. They even had cage-free hard boiled eggs. The free parking was appreciated. The internet was terrible which may have been impacted by the Military Base; not sure.

Wonderful staff - they deserve a 5! They were helpful and pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just okay, expected more for the price of the room and elevator was out for our stay - not a problem for us but was a bit annoying. Still a good location and again the staff was wonderful. My granddaughter left her laptop in our room and we didn't realize until we got home so special thanks to the ladies that helped me arrange for UPS to pick it up and ship it home to us! Above and beyond!

The elevator went out when we checked in. We were told it would be fixed, but it was broken the entire stay. The bed had dips and was lumpy and uncomfortable. The room was clean, but the breakfast was awful. You could get a better breakfast at a convenience store.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Best Western Plus. The room and bathroom were a little tight and could've used more outlets and/or places to plug your devices into, but overall it was a pretty good hotel.

The hotel I usually stay at was sold out and this was an option 4 miles away. Warm welcome from the night auditor. Snacks in the lobby, ample parking, breakfast in the morning.. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable.

We attended a function at Hotel Del Coronado over Memorial Day weekend. I'm a Diamond Club member of Best Western, and I can't afford the Hotel Del. I found this property on the BW site, and it's a great choice. Located on Orange Avenue, the main drag of the island, it's convenient to downtown and to the ferry landing businesses. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, San Diego runs a free shuttle bus up and down Orange Avenue from the ferry landing to the Marriott resort, a bit past the Hotel Del Coronado. You can park at the BW and take the free bus to the shopping and restaurant district, and that's what we did. Fast and convenient. The hotel is not a new property, but it has been kept up very well. Our suite was clean, neat and maintained well. No dust, dirt in the carpet or problems in the bathroom. Considering where the property is, the rates are reasonable. Although it has a small footprint, there's a hot tub and small pool for the family.

Before going on vacation to San Diego, CA, I was reluctant about staying in the heart of the city because most hotels do not have on-site parking or parking costs an average $45 or more a night (another hotel room for your car). So I decided to stay in Coronado, CA which is located less than five miles from the heart of downtown San Diego. It's a retirement community with great shops and a wonderful beach. It's located near North Island Naval Base with a large number of military personnel. Since we were not able to acquire accommodations at the lodging on base, we decided to stay at Best Western Plus Suites Hotel. It's less than a mile from the beach and a half of a mile from shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with all your vacation needs. They offer free bikes, gym passes for enjoyment during your stay. The overall condition of the hotel was a Spanish style development with various amenities for a comfortable leisure stay. They offered great choices for breakfast but the ventilation in the room lack a flow that allowed the smell of food in your clothes once leaving.The rooms and common areas of the hotel were very clean and well maintained at all times. The only downfall we endure was having a room near the main highway that leads to the Naval base because during the morning rush hour service members are reporting to work, the traffic and noise is unbearable. Loud motorcycles, cars, and large trucks can create an early morning wake-up. If you're military, they offer a special rate that's reasonable for the area of Coronado and it's surroundings.

This hotel would receive 4 stars but they thought that two wash cloths was adequate for three people, and they told us on one occasion to share the wash cloths when we asked for more. Every night we had to ask for more than two wash cloths. Other than that the hotel met my expectations. Beds were comfortable, food was good, room was clean. Maintenance fixed the non working bathroom light immediately.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while on vacation. We had never been to Coronado and wanted to visit the island. The BW Plus was conveniently located and free parking and breakfast was a plus. View out the window was not exciting, but if you want a beach view, you will need to pay higher rates at another hotel.

This is a nice hotel that is centrally located, close to ferry landing and many restaurants. It has easy access on and off Coronado. Downtown San Diego is close. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have decent water pressure, clean rooms. Free bicycle use.

Our room was a suite with 2 queen size beds and a nice living room. We were able to borrow bikes from the hotel for 2 hours and rode around Coronado. Its an easy walk to either the ferry landing (10 minutes) or to the beach (30 minutes). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was also very accommodating when our plans changed at the last minute and we were not able to arrive until the next day.

Enjoyed our stay- great location and great value since parking and breakfast are included. Close to restaurants and ferry. Rooms are nicely appointed and very clean. Slightly disappointed with the hot dishes at breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

nice rooms, great patio feature. Close to buses and several nice restaurants wide variety of tastes. Ok beach down on the water. A lot of military but not a big deal well mannered. Nice feature breakfast is available starting at 5:00 am if your an early riser this is a great accommodation.

Great staff, breakfast, cleanliness and convenience. You really can't go wrong with this location. Within walking distance of many desirable places. Convenient parking in an area where parking can be difficult.

Great place in a quaint little area of (Coronado)San Diego. The staff is great and helpful. Rooms are clean with wide screen televisions. Our room was a king room that's fine for two people, but not much room for anything else. The desk serves as a tv stand, dresser combo with one electrical outlet in the lamp. Electrical outlets (4) located on one side of the bed serves the rest of the room. The free Wi-fi is spotty at best, which is a pain if you want to view anything on your mobile devices. I found it works best during the day when most people are away from the hotel. The room has a hair dryer, vanity lamp/mirror, small refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board. Weekday breakfast is free and served from 5am until 9am (10am on weekends) and consist of limited prepared items (bacon, eggs, potatoes), packages of cereal or oatmeal, bread/bun items and bottled juices when we were there. A variety of local bars and restaurants are within walking distance and a small park on the water where walkers/joggers can be seen. The hotel is only 10 minutes from I-5 which makes it easy to get to most major attractions in the San Diego area.

We spent two nights in the Best Western on Coronado Island. Be sure you are aware of the location. It is to the north in the island. Everything including the beaches and the main downtown area is within walking distance, but it is a bit of a hike. The hotel is on Orange, which is the main through street. Walk on that and you can get anywhere you need to go. The room was very nice. It's a basic room and you can tell the hotel is older, but has been recently renovated. Nice bed. Desk with plenty of outlets. Water bottles provided every day for free. Coffee machine, though only one pod per day of tea and coffee variations. Small fridge and sink and microwave. TV worked great. Parking is below the hotel and super easy to use, thought the grade getting in and out is a bit steep. It can be hard to see when returning to Orange. Wifi worked well, if a bit slow. Breakfast was great for us. They had plenty of fruit and hard-boiled eggs and the usual waffle machine and other sundry items. There's a room or you can eat outside in the courtyard. As a base for running around the island it's a nice basic hotel. And the price was excellent for us, so we have no complaints.

We stayed here overnight just before a cruise. Our friends who live on Coronado were taking us to the cruise ship terminal so that dictated the ;location. It is right on Orange Ave - the "main drag" and the city is very walkable. The room was great (when I told the front desk we were celebrating our golden anniversary, they gave us a complimentary upgrade! Bed was comfy and bath spacious and clean. Breakfast was nice and tasty. Overall, a great stay!

The room smelled like a dirty casino. When I asked to be moved the clerk shrugged me off and said that no other rooms were available. I literally could not sleep in the room it was so bad and I used to smoke cigarettes. I ended up sleeping in my truck, at least the weather is nice. The photo on the web site is not this hotel either. This hotel is more 70's looking. Go figure.

Breakfast wasnt that good....dried up scrambled eggs...complete second floor closed for remodelling...front desk people were not that professional...only positive feedback is the location of the hotel....15 minute walk to the beach & Hotel Del Coronado...centrally located

Good location and great value. We love staying at Best Western and Best Western Plus. A bit reason we stay with BW is because of the free breakfast with make your own fresh waffles. This location also had eggs bacon potatoes & French toast! Also, always happy to find a place that doesn't charge for parking! Thanks BW

We stayed here on the weekend of Christmas. The hotel is only a two block walk to the ferry over to San Diego where we went to see the Midway. The rooms have a microwave and mini fridge and a wet bar. The bus also runs past the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance and also a grocery store.

Morning breakfast is excellent, 5:00 am to 9:00 am which is perfect. Front desk staff was, location, amenities, my room perfect. I join the Best Western rewards program on my second stay. I will definitely recommend the place.

Hotel clean, staff friendly and helpful. Room clean and tidy, a little on the old side. However the heat in the room did not work. Breakfast alright but sausage patties EXTREMELY salty, my recommendation to the hotel switch to another brand or offer an additional choice for breakfast meats. Coffee good. Sometimes elevator slow to go down to parking garage.

All employees we encountered during our 5 day stay went above and beyond. Office staff were most professional and helpful. Any time we saw housekeeping staff they were friendly and courteous, each and every one. Our room was meticulously cleaned daily. The breakfast servers were so pleasant and we looked forward to starting our day with them. They paid attention to every detail to make our breakfast experience a positive one. The location of this hotel is perfect on the island. Although at the intersection of 2 busy roads, traffic noise was never an issue. The suite in which we stayed was huge, well appointed and a pleasure to return to daily after a full day of site seeing. All furnishings and decor were up to date and gave us a very homelike feel. We appreciated the room darkening curtains, as well as the ample lighting in the room. The interior courtyard area provided yet another option as a place to spend some time. When we return to the area, be assured we will be staying at the Best Western, a paradise on paradise.

Great location, walking distance to everything that you need. Easy access to street and great area for jogging. Weather is always pleasant, a bit overcast every morning but once the sun comes out the day is superb. Crime is non-existent which makes this place more appealing.

Excellent hotel and staffs. Very good hotel location, close to downtown and good to go to beach and kids entertainment places. Overall satisfied with the service. Except for the menu for the complimentary breakfast.

The hotel was very clean and has a great location. Beware if you drive a large truck since garage is underground and can only handle 7 feet tall vehicles. Only issue was with WIFI due to my room be furthest away from office it did not work at all.

This hotel is really great for the price you pay. Their continental breakfast was more than just bagels and cereal which was a nice surprise. They loan out beach cruisers for two hours to the hotel guests. This we truly enjoyed as we were able to explore more of the island that way. The room was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. The spa is a little small but nobody really uses it so it was nice having all to ourselves and the pool is heated too. We really love this hotel this is the second time we come here and it makes it so much more affordable to spend the weekend in Coronado.

Front desk staff was very friendly & helpful! Breakfast was like going to Sams/Costco frozen breakfast aisle. Rooms were nicely decorated, beds a little hard. Would stay there again, Coronado is a very nice area. We were able to walk to local Restaurants an Bars. The ferry to San Diego was about a 4 bock walk. Very convenient Location

This hotel would be perfect if it did not sit on the corner of Orange and 4th Street. Rush hour traffic is similar to living on a highway shoulder. Evening time was much better and it is too bad this nice building is not located somewhere than this corner.

The location was less than ten minutes from both work and the beach. The bed was comfy and I never had any problems with internet connectivity. The only thing I wish it had was a freshly made breakfast.

From the outside the hotel does not look like much...not bad, just nothing special. The room it self was fine, with enough space and good furnishings. The bed was comfortable. The only issue with the room was that the shower handle was not working quite right, and the window could only be held up with a pvc pipe that was on the window frame. Not quite what I expect from a Best Western Plus, but neither was a big issue. The breakfast was good with enough choices. We like the location because it was within a few blocks of the ferry landing with shops and restaurants. It is better than a three rating, but I cannot quite give it a four. I would say about 3.5, but since the good outweighed the bad, and we would stay there again, I gave it a 4.

We were very happy with our decision to stay here. The room was clean with plenty of room and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located. We were able to walk just about everywhere.

Have many years of experience with this hotel and in general have been very satisfied. However this year the lack of a hot breakfast (and indeed lack of breakfast choices in general) and mediocre internet service has brought down our rating. We hope that these problems are corrected before we make another trip to Coronado.

first off Coronado is a great location to be near downtown San Diego. The Best Western Suites had everything we could want in a place to stay. Rooms are large, we even had a balcony, no noise issues, comfortable bed, keurig coffee maker in room, microwave, refrig, 2 bottles of water/day, breakfast included, they were redecorating dining area so sent us to local restaurant to have freshly made breakfast 1 block away. Free bike rental,parking on site, staff was courteous, stayed for 3 nights, didn't want to leave. Plenty of places to walk to but if driving traffic not bad, and free parking on most streets near beaches and restaurants that we visited. Would stay here again in a minute.

Have stayed at this property several times and always find it comfortable and reasonable, especially in Coronado. The rooms have been remodeled since our last stay which they needed. They have free parking on site and it's an easy walk to Boney's Grocery and several good restaurants. The interior open air courtyard offers a place to sit and enjoy the lovely CA weather over coffee etc. Perfect all around.

Traffic for Air Force Base starts at 5 am and consists of a ton of motorcycles and trucks. We had AC on and earplugs in and we couldn't sleep through noise. Any room not on 3rd Avenue would be great! The hotel is great except for this problem which would only affect a handful of rooms.

Nice visit except for the quality of the breakfast. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. All requests were honored quickly and completely. The location is excellent, well within walking distance of at least one exceptional restaurant. The garage and its location serves visitors very well. When I visit Coronado, this is my motel/hotel of choice. I prefer to stay at Best Western hotels because the quality of your service is consistent and well refined. The only less than positive aspect of this visit was the quality of the breakfast; shifting to a pre-packaged, microwaveable breakfast is not my idea of a quality, well-rounded breakfast. Some people enjoy this type of meal, but I do not. I prefer the cooked breakfast with a variety of items on the menu. Otherwise, the room and the service provided was excellent.

AC never got room cooler than 85 degrees even after waiting for 4 hours. We left as we couldn't sleep and manager left us no alternative. He said he didn't know if we would be charged for the night. AC was a small unit in one corner that never cooled the rest of the room. manager confirmed that others had complained about " inconsistent" AC system. Miserable experience and no customer service provided

It was pleasant stay in this hotel. Room and service were very nice. Unfortunately breakfast was not very enjoyable - a lot of fast food staff. Would recommend to serve more hot food and vegetables. Bed was comfortable but was so sorry that I didn't bring my pillow.

Walkable to some stores and restaurants and easy access to fourth street to use the bridge. Next time I'll try places closer to Del Coronado where you can find a wide choice of restaurants stores and pleasant places to walk or cycle.

The Coronado Best Western is very clean, updated, roomy, has all of the amenities you will need and the staff is professional, pleasant and helpful. I stayed in a room on the 3rd St said of the building and did not notice any car noise.

Juan at the FD is AMAZING and very informative. Great Breakfast and of good quality. Free parking. Room was very clean. Jacuzzi needs cleaning and an upgrade but overall I love it. I definitely will be returning to this hotel.

very nice hotel. good location, nice employees, comfortable room, good breakfast. They only real negative is the swimming pool (very small), but we weren't in San Diego for a pool. It was a little pricey - but probably in line for Coronado.

VERY nice. Extremely nice & professional staff! Be careful not to be in a room on the busy street side, especially if you are a light sleeper. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel. Very clean, pretty courtyard, rooms are a good size & very comfortable.

This was my 3rd time staying here during the big 15,000+ person Esri conference. I's one of the few affordable hotels within walking distance (plus free ferry) from the Convention Center. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Courtyard sometimes gets messy. They have a bike and some beach stuff available to borrow. There is no shuttle to the airport but its manageable on the bus or trolley/bus if you don't have too much luggage. Breakfast is so-so but the breakfast staff are great. I never could get the internet to work with my phone but it may have been phone problems on my end.

I was surprised with the very nice room at BW. I usually go with Hilton, but will be changing brands now. I am happy to see that this group of hotels has jumped on the bandwagon. They have done a good job with quality and service.

We stayed in this hotel as an alternative to downtown San and we are happy that we did.The hotel is on Orange Ave the main avenue on the island. It has free parking which is a plus. It offers a reasonable hot and cold breakfast. The pool is on the small side and there is not much room to sit around the pool and there were only a handful of chairs. We checked out on July 4th. It is important to note that Orange Ave is closed from around 10 am due to a very popular holiday parade, The problem is if you need to go anywhere with your car you are out of luck, Not the hotel's fault but something to be aware of. There are plenty of food options nearby and the ferry landing area is an easy walk from the hotel. This provides access to downtown San Diego. In the summer, the city provides free shuttle transportation around the island. The desk will supply information. The AC unit was a little loud in the room but the room was otherwise clean and comfortable.

This is a very beautiful hotel that is well positioned on Coronado Island - just a few short blocks to Ferry Landing and all of the restaurants and shops in that area. The rooms are surprisingly large and are very clean and up to date. The outdoor atrium is beautiful. While the pool and hot tub are not large, they are very nice and well-maintained. The breakfast is very extensive, serving both hold and cold dishes, and is delicious. The employees are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast starts at 5:00 in the morning which is great for those who have to catch an early morning flight. This is a great place to say the night before a flight since it is so close and convenient to San Diego Airport. You won't be disappointed with a stay at this lovely hotel.

Great staffs, clean rooms and good breakfast. Parking is available unless you have a SUV's its kind of hard to park because of parking spacing. There are few spot for SUV. There is laundry in the hotel but just one set of washer and dryer and there is a time when you can used it. hope there's more of it though. All in all its a good place.

We are not easy to please, this was awesome. Everything you want to do is in walking distance.i really don't have anything more to say except i wish we would have done this15 years ago. Thank you for the memories best western.

Good Job Best Western in coming back and providing a come back! Staff have been retrained and are polite, caring and professional! Same great hotel, added a few nice touches. Gym in a bag and free bike rental! Make sure if your a non smoker you book a none smoking room and get a room facing Orange st. Hot fresh cooked breakfast rotates each day, eggs, potatoes, has browns, tater tots, toast, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, coffee etc. The bay is a short 5 min walk and so nice at night. Each summer the city provides a free shuttle runs ever 15 min from Ferry landing down to the Hotel Del. The stops is across the street from Best western.

If you are looking for a hotel on Coronado island this one isn't bad. Not as close to the beach as I had hoped but the food right down the street was great! Room was clean and had plenty of space for the family!!

Large room. Comfortable bed, mini fridge, microom wave, great breakfast bar. The breakfast bar had different selections each day. Entire staff very friendly and alay happy to answer your questions. Free underground parking.

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size, quiet, clean and the bed comfortable, although I found the brown colour scheme a bit depressing! It was in a great position to walk to the ferry or the shops and the sea. There is also a bus that goes right past the hotel. The breakfast was good - starting at 5.30 and finishing promptly at 9 when the door was locked - no lazy mornings there! The staff were very friendly and helpful, letting us print off our boarding cards and storing our luggage as our flight was later in the day. There is a small pool with 2 sunbeds but as the weather was cloudy we didn't use it.

Great location, great hotel and great rate! I was skeptical, but ended up very pleasantly surprised. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Only a short walk to the ferry on the bay side and a longer but lovely walk to the ocean side. Plenty of restaurants and shops very near by

Great place to stay.. away from the busy Del, but close to the city side with plenty of activity.. Staff was great as well ... Breakfast was perfect , nice and hot each morning .. they have free bikes to tour around the island on as well ...

Hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and attractions. I've stayed in this hotel several times and was really satisfied with the service except during my current stay. I left a expensive Bose Headphone and after I requested the staff to ship it to my home (I offered to reimburse for the cost of shipping), the staff refused to ship it. I have to arrange for a family member in the area to pick it up for me. Really disappointed. I don't think I will stay with this hotel in the future.

Beautiful room. Delicious breakfast. Excellent location. Clean. Everyone at the property is so nice and accommodating. The guest rooms are spacious and well designed. Beds are super comfortable. Internet is fast and reliable.

This is a great little hotel. The staff is very friendly the location is fantastic and everything is clean and comfortable. I would love to stay at this hotel again and would certainly recommend it to friends and family. Hope to be back soon.

BW Plus Suites in Coronado is a great place for getting away from the rush of the city. Very comfortable rooms in a centrally located hotel. Easy walking to all of Coronado restaurants and shopping. Just a short walk to the pier if taking the water taxi or ferry to San Diego Seaport Village. The BW Coronado gives the feel of a small private-owned hotel, quiet and personal. The parking is free, and so is breakfast. You can't go wrong at this hotel.

Great breakfast. Not many, if any vegetarian options. Good coffee, friendly staff. Snacks from r the day supplied. On a main drag. Ask for a room at the back on the second floor. Pool is freezing, hot tub is perfect. Laundry facilities n site for a dollar

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast ready at 0500 fits North Island work schedule. Full range of breakfast items. Only downside is elevator is chronically broke. Front desk attendant offered to help carry luggage upstairs. Lots of restaurants in walking distance, but Boney's Market has lots of great carryout options to put in your in-room fridge & microwave. Keurig placed in room during my stay.

Staff is exceptional. Always willing to accommodate your requests and very friendly and welcoming. Complementary Breakfast options are some of the best I have encountered. The only negative is parking is limited and the elevator was out of commission during my 16 day stay. However, we were informed upon arrival and offered 1st floor accommodations if needed.

Wonderful affordable great service hotel !! Staff is top notch and could not have been more friendly ! If the only issue with your stay at this hotel is that the hot tub isn't hot enough than you had a great stay !

We have stayed at this hotel several times and we absolutely love it. We love the convenient location on the island and the ease of the place itself. It is not the brand new, modern hotel. But if you're looking for a place with charm and ease, this is your place. We just got back and already can't wait to go there again.

We stayed 6 nights for pleasure and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were able to get a room on the top floor on the east side (away from Third Ave.) and it was perfect. Very functional room, immaculately well kept, and excellent sleeping. The staff was very friendly and helpful...special call-out to Patricia in the Breakfast Room! We used the hotel's bicycles on 3 different days and really enjoyed roaming the island and the bayside bike paths. Nice touch! We will seek out the Best Western on future trips to Coronado.

We stayed 3 nights during a recent work trip and had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly too. We were just a few blocks away from the Ferry Landing and the shops We will definitely stay here again.

Convention hotel was sold out so I picked this one. Glad I did. Room was clean with plenty of room. Breakfast was great. Walk to the Hotel del Coronado a little more than a mile but a nice walk both in morning and night. Uber was $5.75 as another option. Uber was $11 to airport. Think twice about getting a rental.

This hotel is in a great location. It has underground parking and the free breakfast was delicious. Once again, the location is awesome. It is right in the middle of Orange Ave and an easy walk to restaurants, bars, conference centers, etc. The staff was very accommodating. Free wifi and NO resort fees.

This location is a wonderful place to use as a base for other activities. It is on a busy corner, but it seems all of Coronado Island is packed and busy. The property is well kept up and nicely laid out. The staff are excellent and friendly. We had no problems at all, and had an enjoyable few days.

Best Western Coronado made my stay feel like home. The staff treated me as friend, not as guest. It made my stay very satisfying. The breakfast selection varied from day to day, but was never dull. The courtyard area was inviting and many people would hang out and socialize. I never had any issues with other guest or staff, the location was great and gave easy access to local stores and restaurants in the area.

We reserved this on a day's notice on a trip to San Diego. Found the hotel clean and comfortable with everything in the room/bathroom being updated and in good repair. It was a good location with easy access to restaurants and the Ferry landing park. We did read reviews about the traffic noise, but on such short notice, we had to take whatever room they had available. The traffic noise was considerable in the early morning hours (5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.) and even with a white noise machine, was enough to wake a couple of us up. It wasn't a huge problem for us as we wanted to get an early start to our day, but if you are hoping to sleep in, I would request an interior room.

Good housekeeping, good breakfast room, but lousy hours for breakfast of 5-9am;S/B until 10am. Clueless front staff from late mornings on. Suites are treated like upgrades by front desk clerk. Rates vary widely, so be careful. BW website no help with rates. Avoid rooms in back to avoid massive commuter traffic to Navy installations, garbage trucks, apartment noises. Good alternative to tourist mess in Downtown San Diego. Take the Coronado Ferry (3 blocks) if you want to avoid hassles, save time and money. Weekdays only time to go to Coronado.

My husband and I spent 2 nights on Coronado Hotel and this hotel worked for us as the room was laid out well and was modern, clean and comfortable. With a fairly limited supply of hotels on the island, other places appeared to be older and more run down or considerably more expensive. The complimentary breakfast was the best we've seen and the staff pleasant and accommodating. It was in a great location, nearby the ferry landing and easy walking distance to Hotel Del Coronado. Although not a luxury hotel, I would recommend this hotel if looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay on the island.

This lovely hotel is located at the corner of the main entry road onto Coronado Island with a lot of traffic day and night. Rooms facing the street are somewhat noisy. However, the hotel is cute, well-appointed, and reasonably priced for the location. While other hotels charge for parking, this hotel includes free covered parking (a real benefit on this island). We will go back.

My husband and I stayed here while he attended a work conference. Pros: A/C worked great, bed was comfortable, hot shower, fantastic breakfast (eggs and vegetable dishes with waffle maker, fresh fruit). Our room faced Orange Avenue and we had no difficulty sleeping and did not hear any road noise. Staff were very helpful with logistics of the ferry and the Metro Transit System. Thank you to the front desk staff! Cons: Our TV had issues with the voice going in and out. At first we thought it was the channel but it happened on multiple stations. Since our stay was short and we only watched TV at night, we didn't bother notifying hotel staff regarding it. The internet was horrible. Although you only had to sign on once during your stay, it would incessantly lose the connection or just freeze during busy times of the day. I had to use my smartphone countless times out of frustration. Ultimately, we did have a nice stay here. I would have liked to give the hotel 4 stars, but when you are staying at a hotel for work and need a solid internet connection, I couldn't possibly give it that rating especially given the price. Since they don't have 1/2 stars, I had to vote 3. The "Del" was less than a mile walk from the hotel. I found that I was able to walk the distance faster than waiting for the MTS bus. All in all, it was a memorable trip and a decent hotel but the TV and internet need fixed.

Nice & spacious rooms, very nice & clean, great breakfast food, friendly staff, great location. Never needed to use our car once we got there. Beds were ok. Front desk were very helpful. They allowed us to check in early. Very accommodating. We had 5 rooms between all of us.

From the friendly gentleman at the front desk, to the wonderful job done by the maids to keep the room and restrooms sparkling, to the breakfast staff who kept everything fresh and appealing, we were very pleased and completely enjoyed our stay! The breakfasts were outstanding and delicious!

The location is perfect and the staff overall very professional and friendly except the evening one. Overall the breakfast is good and the staff working on kitchen is very friendly and professional. I will recommend this place but it can be pricely if you do not have any discount code.

The environment that the staff provided was safe and comforting. They made me feel welcomed and like I was a valued customer. The location is perfect and within walking distance of great views and great food.

This was a nice place to stay. Making the reservation was the hardest part of the visit. Seems like the staff need a better tool for tracking reservations for large group blocks. But the room was very clean and comfortable to stay in.

My family and I have stayed at the Best Western Coronado, CA many times. We have always had great service and the staff is very helpful. The kids love the breakfast and the small pool is great! Would recommend it to other folks with kids.

This hotel is comfortable with so many amenities - a great breakfast, treats and coffee all day, free parking and front-door access for disabled parking. The pool is small but the perfect temperature, day and night. Neat, well furnished rooms and free Wi-Fi. Convenient location for a quick drive to Silver Strand beach, or a 5-minute walk to the ferry and a refreshing ride across the bay to Seaport Village or the Convention Center/Petco Park and the Gaslamp District. Terrific restaurants and shopping within a short walk of the hotel too!

From the moment we checked in it was such a great experience. Friendly lady up front, clean comfortable room. Well lit- great uodated bathroom and immaculate. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows. The wifi was fast and the AC worked perfectly. The breakfast in the morning was extensive and the lady there making sure everything ran smoothly was a pleasure. The parking downstairs was spacious. Everything that this hotel promised was delivered upon and MORE! Great location, comfortable and a fair price!

If staying in the San Diego area, Coronado Island is a wonderful place to be. The Best Western is a prime location, 25 min walk to Coronado beach, 2 minute walk to Coronado brewing company. Check in was efficient, and there was a new gentleman working the front desk that was very customer service oriented. He insured all our needs were met, including pool towels. The pool was small here, but so nice! The warmest pool I've been in which made it great for the kids to have a comfortable evening swim. The beds were comfy, and the room was spotless. Breakfast in the morning was very hectic, but the lady running the breakfast was very good at insuring everyone was taken care of. Parking was included, and was always a spot available. This was a very nice stay. The only thing that could of been better is if it was next to a green space instead of a busy road.

We had a nice long weekend stay..... With a concert Dixie Chicks and we took the ferry over to a Padres baseball game which was great no driving! The room was big, clean, nice patio area next to lobby and pool! loved that we could take a short walk to the ferry and shopping.... We had some great beer and food from Coronado Brewing Co just across the street....we have already booked a room for another long weekend! Free parking a big plus and breakfast!

We stayed for one week at the Best Western Plus at the end of July. The staff were very friendly and helpful which made our stay fantastic! The breakfast each morning was very good. They offered a different variety daily and the staff were very helpful. A great place to stay. I enjoyed the quaintness of the location not having to walk a long distance to the lobby, breakfast area, or to businesses close by. It was very convenient. The pool has is a little small along with the parking garage if you are driving a large SUV but other than that the rooms were clean and well air conditioned for the hot days.

You should enjoy a stay at the Best Western PLUS at 275 Orange Avenue, Coronado. The breakfast is included and is :First Class" with many, many selection and included in your reservation at no addition charge. Lou Thibault, Palm Springs, CA

My son and I came out for a just is weekend and have been very happy with the room/hotel thus far. It's quiet and everyone we've interacted with is just wonderfully friendly. Our room is/was a smoking room but honestly you wouldn't know it. There was an initial "scent" but it disappeared quickly with a little airing out. Nice shower, would have like a ventilation system but...it isn't critically bad. Nice shower and the toiletries they provide are quite nice if you decide to use them for any reason. So close to the ferry and plenty of places to eat including Nicky Rottens and a couple good sushi places. The Bayside Market is perfect for grabbing things for the beach and you're only a mile from the ocean side of the beach. All in all great price, great location, and nice relaxing visit. While this was a beautiful property, and the beds were pretty comfortable, I didn't sleep much because of the road noise at all hours of the night. I suppose if you are a deep sleeper, you'd be fine. It didn't seem to bother my husband, but I had ear plugs in and a fan blowing right on my head, and I could still hear all of the cars zooming right past the hotel. It's a shame, because it was a nice place otherwise, and the front desk staff was very pleasant. We enjoyed walking to dinner over on the bayside.

This hotel is located just of 3rd and orange avenue. Our check-in was easy and we were in the room in just a few minutes. Although the room was small, it was comfortable with a king bed. Breakfast was respectable with a choice of eggs, breakfast meat, yogurt, etc. Pat was very helpful in the breakfast area. The coffee was also fine. There was below deck parking area which is also a plus on this very busy and crowded island. Esteban assisted us on check in and during our stay and I must say, he is about the best there is! He will really go out of his way to be helpful...We had plenty of choices of excellent restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and will be happy to return.

I loved staying on Coronado island and this was the perfect hotel for us. We stayed on the third floor, away from the main street and found the room to be quite and very clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast, which is included, had quite a few different items to choose from. It wasn't what you would expect to get at a nice cafe or restaurant, but since we just needed something easy and convenient to grab, it worked out very well for us. My only frustration, was that the wireless internet was spotty, but since we weren't in the room that much it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel looks nice, but it is right on 3rd AVenue, the busiest street in Coronado, where everyone drives in over the bridge to San Diego. Right next to the first stop light. So traffic noise is horrendous, for those rooms near the 3rd Avenue traffic light. We knew this, so we asked for a room away from the street. We checked in early at 2pm , just to get a more quiet room. The desk clerk was extremely unhelpful, put us right next to 3 rd Avenue, and told us that the rooms all have double pane windows and we would be ok. We were not. No sleep the first night due to traffic noise and even vibrations from trucks braking and idling at the traffic light. Second night, we bought ear plugs. Helped but still got wakened at night frequently. Unless you are deaf, book someplace else. Even if you plan ahead and ask for a quiet room and check in early, the desk clerks seem to push the noisy rooms first and wont be helpful.

Access to this Hotel is super easy - it's at the corner of the 75 and Orange. A quick walk towards San Diego Bay rewards you with views of downtown, and wonderful local restaurants. Head towards the ocean and the Hotel Del Coronado, you access the quaint downtown. It's an easy walk, but a free shuttle is available in the summer. We were not happy with either room that was initially provided for us - first floor off of an alley, and the windows in one room didn't work. However, after requesting a better room on the second floor, we were rewarded with a great spot overlooking Orange, that included a balconey. The free breakfast is adequate, on a par of those offered by motels of this class. Most important: the hotel staff, especially Estaban and Paola went out of their way to meet our needs - including helping us figure out how to get to Sleep Train Ampitheater in Chula Vista. They were excellent!! Would return again in a heartbeat. Thanks.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We were given a free upgrade to a suite. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a quiet courtyard that is wrapped by the hotel. Warm breakfast is complimentary. Parking is free underneath the hotel .

Super hotel for a stay in San Diego. I was there for a conference and took the ferry over to the convention center on one day and the other took a cab to downtown. It's a very relaxed place on the beatiful island of Coronado. People from the hotel are super friendly! Will definitely stay here again when in San Diego.

The room I stayed in had a bed bug nest under the bed skirt. Housekeeping came and stated they did not find anything but I found the bed bug nest within minutes. I was changed rooms and only credited for one night. Multiple bites on my face and arms which required me to seek medical attention. Will never stay at this hotel ever again.

Coronado island has a free shuttle bus to town that picks you up at the end of the block. There is also a brew pub with amazing food, a great market and liquor store. Walk to the water taxi from the hotel or ride the bus to the beach. Great loction with clean rooms and wonderful service.

On center again the Best Western Plus has been an amazing stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff and delicious continental breakfasts! I highly recommend if you need a place to stay while on the island. Great location to the harbor for shops and restaurants.

This hotel was set up very nice and near all activities. The personnel were very helpful. I am going back for my second trip and looking forward to the stay. All shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. A very neat market place and small beach for small kids on the bay side.

Very nice hotel especially comparing value for the dollar. The separate rooms were nice separated by the French doors for another sitting/sleeping area. Plenty of room to keep our bikes in the suite. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, and staff was friendly. The breakfast was what you would expect for a hot complimentary breakfast. There was some variations each morning to what was served and overall was pretty good for this type of breakfast.

Wonderful place to stay when visiting San Diego and Coronado. Walking distance to ferry to downtown and many excellent restaurants. Nice rooms and great parking area under the hotel. Excellent breakfast with large variety. Can get busy at times, but atrium has seating also. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker great to have plus free wifi. Room walls are thin, but hotel has been updated nicely. Bed was not very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay at a reasonable price.

Great staff, comfortable room with all needed amenities. In room internet is reliable. Breakfast is several steps above a continental breakfast with 6 hot food choices plus waffles every morning. Location of the hotel is perfect for visiting Coronado and less than 10 minutes from San Diego via the Coronado bridge.

I was in town for a conference and decided to spend one night on Coronado. Very reasonably priced, helpful staff, and nice room. Easy walk down to the other side of the island. Later that night, however, the hotel became a frat house. People yelling throughout the courtyard and banging on doors. The walls must have been paper thin as well because between 2-4am, the people in the room next to me were laughing like hyenas. The phone had no button to press for the front desk to request their help, and I really didn't feel comfortable walking out through the courtyard to the desk either. Overall, I would choose another hotel in hindsight.

Very nice...quite clean. They have a great staff, and good breakfast! We ate late so a little "dried out." Stayed at hotel with a group of friends...Everyone enjoyed it! We will return! Good place to stay for the Coronado Bridge Run/Walk. Enjoyed our early morning walk!

This hotel is very nice, the rooms are nice and the personnel is friendly. The buffet breakfast is good. The only thing I did not like was the tiny pool, 3ft. deep, not a real pool by my standards. Otherwise, very nicely set.

Great little property in Coronado California close to everything. Clean and comfortable with friendly and helpfull employees. Will definately stay there again when in the area. They have a morning breakfast room that changes each day, an open patio in the center of the complex for relaxing and chatting with other guests.

That was so cool trip I have ever had ! I was so relaxed in Coronado Island. the hotel facility was very clean receptionists were so friendly. the location was easy-to-find-out so you will find out this hotel pretty quickly when you get into the island. and parking is also very safe. I loved it.

Located om the beautiful Coronado island in walking distance from the foot/bicycle Ferry , restaurants, the beach and a great view of the San Diego waterfront. The hotel is appropriatefor the area. Maybe a bit dated but nothing to worry About. It offers free WiFi , is clean, serves breakfast and has complementary coffee and snacks . What more do you need? Excellent base to discover San Diego.

This is a great place to stay if you want to stay on Coronado Island but not pay too much. It's located on one side of the island so you can walk to the ferry and some restaurants and stores. The other side is where the beaches are so you will need to drive there. Staff was accommodating, breakfast was great! Eggs freshly made, sausage, French toast and pastries. Only downside; if you like to sleep with the windows open, it is on a main street to the base and there is traffic at all hours and a lot of noise from motorcycles.

Staying on Coronado Island is pricey, but this hotel offers a reasonable alternative. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants and the ferry. They do have an elevator, free parking and a pool, which we used during out stay. The only downside is that they are located on a busy street, so ask for a room away from the street, if that would bother you. Our room was on the third floor, in the back corner, nice and quiet.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus on Coronado Island, great location walking distance to most activities. Breakfast was included. The room was nice & the bed was comfortable. We were able to walk to Coronado Beach, along the way there were several great restaurants & stores. If you go north there are more restaurants & a water taxi along the water front.

We were in Coronado for a HS reunion. This is very convenient to local services, i especially like that we could walk to Booney's Market. Nice underground parking facility. This is very convenient to good restaurants. The room was well laid out. We look forward to being able to go back soon.

I stayed with my family in one of the suites and it is nice and comfortable. My family enjoyed the hotel, the breakfast and the great and convenient location. This is a property that you will come back for sure.

Room was dark, updated but not enough, flimsy coffee maker, had to go to office for creamer. Considering the quality of the room, too expensive. Walls are thin, could easily hear other wake up calls in other rooms. A plus- parking included.

We had overall a great experience within reasonable price. The location of the hotel is at walking distance to the Bayside market and the shore. The staff was courteous, friendly, and caring. I would definitely like to stay again if I visit the island in future.

Stayed one night...huge, clean room with comfortable furniture and windows that opened to let in a nice breeze. Pool and deck were closed for repair...disappointing. Breakfast very good with many choices and real eggs cooked in butter. They even kept it going past 10 am so we could relax. All staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was with the noise. I heard all the water/shower sounds from the neighbor which woke me up. Enjoyed the covered parking, elevator and pretty, tiled common area. Would definitely stay again.

The main advantage of this hotel is location- not to the beaches, but to the Naval Air Station and some key nearby businesses. That being said, when I visited, the hotel was under some minor renovations that required some detours to get to breakfast. The renovations were needed as the hotel felt like it could use some facilities being updated, including the carpet and paint. The room was indeed large, but as noted, a bit dated and tired. The breakfast itself was very light on fruit, and managed to not particularly agree with my stomach. On the positive side, besides location, the staff was friendly. My main complaint was just how overpriced it felt relative to the facilities.

This was a quick overnighter for my hubby and myself. We wanted to stay on Coronado Island, as we fell in love with it the last time we were there. We were able to secure a King Suite. The price was much more reasonable than other places on the island. We were very pleased with the accommodations. The room itself had a nice living area with a chair, a couch and ottomans - as well a chest of drawers, table and mobile desk. There was also a microwave and a refrigerator. The sleeping area was separated by some lovely french doors. The bed was very nice and comfortable and the pillows were also. I appreciate nice pillows. The room was very clean and relatively quiet. We did go to the pool/spa area. The spa is very small, but was clean and warm. The pool was too cold to attempt. We spent about an hour and it was wonderful to just relax and spend time together. We did enjoy the breakfast in the morning. There were some tasty options. I would have loved to have seen some waffles. There was two different types of eggs, potatoes and turkey bacon. Also toast, cereals, pastries, juice choices along with milk and coffee. All of the personnel we had contact with were very kind and helpful. We appreciated their assistance more than once. We would definitely suggest this as a place to stay to anyone asking.

Spacious room and bathroom. Large bed with good linens. Very large TV. Comfy lounge chair and small coffee table. Kitchenette with fridge, coffee making facilities and a microwave. Also a proper kitchen sink. Office desk. Lots of drawers. Smallish wardrobe but adequate. No safe! Had a smoking room which meant the room was at the end of a hallway tucked in a corner. Very quiet. Lots of college athletes staying which meant a little noise when you ventured outside. Plus had to side step their shoes, clothes and towels strewn in the walkways. They were also noisy and messy at breakfast. Parking and breakfast included in package. Breakfast wasn't anything outstanding but a reasonable variety that was more than adequate – hot item usually eggs, French toast, cereal, juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit, coffee, hot chocolate, muffins, toast, etc Great location. Less than a 5 minute walk away is a small shopping village. Some good restaurants along with a supermarket. Handy to top up supplies. Had the best peanut brittle. Probably a 5 – 10 minute drive into Coronado township itself. As I can't afford to stay at the famous Hotel Del Coronado, this was the next best option. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again. Good value.

This is not the best Best Western I have been to. Slightly overpriced, poor wifi connection and rooms are a little tired. But the rooms are clean, beds and pillow s are good and parking is free. Just a few blocks from the ferry landing (pedestrian traffic only).

The hotel is extremely convenient to both the village and the ferry landing. We had no problems with our stay, and this is the fifth time we have stayed here. We never consider staying any where else on Coronado.

We stayed for 6 nights during Christmas. Great value for the money...FREE parking, unlike across the bay and you don't have to hunt for breakfast. if you want a room with a view, stay somewhere else. We were rarely in our rooms, other than to sleep. If you have a bad back, like me, the beds are a little hard, but the rooms are spacious. The staff is very friendly.

We only stayed one night this time, because something came up and we had to cancel the 2nd night. They were very gracious with the last minute cancellation and didn't charge us anything. We've stayed there before and found it very adequate. It's more like a multi-story motel than a hotel. The rooms open onto balconies that surround the outdoor atrium. Parking is free in the underground garage. It's within walking distance (if you're not too elderly) of the commercial areas and the Hotel Del Coronado. Very clean, very friendly staff. Only caveat would be the lack of channels on the TV, but we didn't spend much time in the room, so it didn't bother us.

We spent a week in this hotel and enjoyed the staff, amenities, and location. The breakfast is delicious and changes each day. The staff was very helpful in answering questions and assisting me in changing my reservation. I recommend it for anyone staying in Coronado.

I stayed at the Best Western on Coronado Island for a week this Dec. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast had a good variety of foods, coffee and juice. I would definately stay here again especially compared to the rates for other hotels on the island! Located well within walking distance of the San Diego Ferry and many eating and drinking establshments.

This hotel is not the place to go if you are looking for amenities that work, spacious rooms or clean quiet surroundings. They had construction going on every day including Sunday. The T.V. didn't work on any digital channels, there was no remote for the DVR, the hot tub was broken, the room was dusty throughout due to construction, the Internet was slow, weak signaled, and embarrassing compared to the strength of the WiFi signal coming from the Hotel across the street! Avoid this hotel if you can!

Our son and his family live on the island. We can walk to & from his house from this hotel and it is very affordable. It is an older property, but well maintained and very clean. We love the breakfasts. The staff is very accommodating. We make our reservations well ahead since the property fills up.

I stayed at the hotel for homecoming of the USS Theodore Roosevelt last week. We stayed in a suite. It was comfortable and extremely clean. Nice hot breakfast starting at 5 am ( a plus when you have an early flight). Staff was superb and helpful to all my needs specially Terry and Janet. Close to the landing but a little far from downtown and the beach (about 9 orb10 blocks). Really close to the base what is a big plus. If I come back to Coronado I will be back to the hotel.

Pleasantly surprised because this hotel was much more economical than others nearby - good location, nice suite, good breakfast and free parking and friendly and professional staff. There is an outside pool but it is mostly for children or for quick dip- 3-1/2 ft. at deep end.

The property is clean and well kept and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The building's architecture is very pretty. This is a good location because shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast is available every day in the clean and comfortable breakfast room. There's a wide variety of standard breakfast fare and snacks. In-room coffee is also available in the rooms. Our room was nice. It had two comfy queen beds. We were on the bottom floor and our window faced the alley. Not such a pretty view. Next time, I would request a room facing Orange Street but that might be a bit more noisy due to traffic on the busy street. All in all, we had a nice stay.

Nice affordable hotel on Coronado. Staff were friendly and helpful. Given it's location on the corner of the main road, we were surprised at how quiet our room was. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and was in a good location for the island.

The suite was first class, above our expectations for a Best Western Plus property. Roomy and well furnished suite for under $200 in this city is rare. Enjoyed the whole Coronado experience. Great neighborhoods and local restaurants without having to compete for space in the San Diego hustle and bustle.

Very efficient, well run hotel with spacious and comfortable suites. Close to bay and ferry to mainland, about eight block walk to the ocean beach. Small pool, no spa. Great bike path nearby. They offer a "no extra charge" wonderful breakfast to start the day and great coffee. Very nice free underground parking. Comfortable bed, nice linens, and great toiletries.

Stayed here last year and it has gotten better. The front desk people are as helpful as can be. Rooms are clean and spend the little extra for the views. Yes a little spread out but the walks are beautiful. Went for supper last night in the hotel and it was well worth it.

We booked a room for a two nights stay many weeks in advance. picked them because they were listed as pet friendly. We called to ask if we could be lower level close to an exit for ease of caring for our two small dogs. We were told that they were NOT pet friendly! Had to scramble at the last minute to find accomdations. They need to correct this error so it doesnt happen again!

Front desk staff very nice, pool was clean, room was clean, hotel was convenient, close to ferry, close to shopping. I stayed here with my 4 year old son. I felt safe. I would definitely stay again. The room had microwave, refrigerator and a decent view.

Cute hotel that has internal rooms to a courtyard. Had to move rooms once due to ac issue but handled quickly. Hotel looks like a mini Coronado Del mar. Convenient location and free parking. Free breakfast in the morning which we heard was Felix but just basic on our days but still very enjoyable.

I originally reserved a room with a king bed for my husband and me, and a rollaway for my 6 foot son. Once the rollaway was in the room, it was obvious that we would barely have room to walk around the room. Knowing that we would need to pay the difference, we requested a room change to a larger room/suite. Esteban was working at the front desk that evening, and was very courteous and accommodating. We were able to switch to a suite with two queen beds, which was great for our family. Since we were planning to stay for a total of three nights, Esteban assured me that we could stay in the same room all three nights. Apparently, there was a communication breakdown and we were asked to leave our room the following afternoon. However, Esteban again came to our rescue and told his supervisors that he did tell us that we would be able to stay in the room all three night. We were so pleased with the final decision. We have been loyal Best Western customers for several years and have always been very pleased with the consistent customer service.

This motel is a great place to stay while in San Diego. My only negative comment is the room is cramped when equipped with 2 queen beds. Other than that, the staff and the property is great. If you have 3 or more people in a suite, get the larger suite.

I needed only a place to lay my head for the night since I live over an hour away and knew I wouldn't be getting done with work until late. Of all the hotels on the Coronado Island, this one had what I needed inside my price range. As Coronado hotels go, this one had a good military discount, but I've gotten a lot more for less at other hotels. Overall, the room was really nice and spacious, the bathroom was nice, the free internet was great, and the free breakfast that they offered were all nice additions. The AC in the room worked fairly well, except for the curtains that kept blowing up. But once I moved those, the room was nice. The bed was very comfortable and although my room was located next to the main road, it was actually quiet and I got a good night's sleep.

I really enjoy Best Western and I find it to be an excellent value! We stay at their hotels whenever we vacation. We visit Coronado regulary. This location is centrally located. We park our car in the undergrown garage, which is a treat in itself, and walk the island. Everything we need is in walking distance.

Centrally located, about 4 easy walking blocks to the Orange Ave action; felt safe walking at niight. Best way to get around island is by bike...beaches that close.. Restaurants across street too . Nice big clean rooms, friendly staff.
