Best Western Plus Hotel Palo Alto Inn & Suites, San Antonio

Very rude impartial service from the breakfast server. We rented a suite for 6 people. 4 went downstairs to eat. We asked if we could take something back upstairs to our family. We were told NO, they have to come down themselves. Well from there on when I would ask for something, the lady kept asking; "Is it for here?". Then when food was running out at 8:30 she went and asked other tables what else they wanted and made more food. At that time my teen age granddaughter came down from the room and joined us. So I approached the hostess to ask for a tacl for her. She said we are out.... I asked her ;"But I just heard you ask the rest of the guests what else they wanted but you avoided our table...? Why are you being so partial to us? Then she started raising her voice until basically yelling that here job was to service the rest of the guests. I asked "Then what are we?" The lady ended up out talking/yelling me ruing our entire stay. We threw what we hadn't eaten away and ended up walking over to Jack the Box which is next door. So now I will go into the room part of the complaint. We stayed on the 4th floor. I guess some of the management, owners, or employees live up there or at least have a kitchen up there.... When we got there at 10:00 pm the smell hit us as soon as we got out of the elevator. it smells like middle eastern cooking. It must be spices like curry, ginger or turmeric or something like that. It is really overpowering. The smell was super present again the next morning. I am no one to judge what someone else does at the place they own but please, be thoughtful of you PAYING customers. At least put a big extractor up there. I had read reviews that the beds we terrible. I read enough good reviews that I didn't really pay attention to it. Well, let me tell you that that you can sure feel the springs in the beds that were in our room. The sofa sleeper mattress was even worse. We had to use the extra blankets we took so they could keep the springs from making the grandkids uncomfortable. I will admit that we did save around $40 from not renting two rooms from a comparable hotel somewhere else.. but after this experience; I am quite certain, it was NOT WORTH IT. I was asked at check out how my stay had been. I started explaining my run in with the breakfast hostess and the man immediately interrupted my and sis, "Yes, I heard the problem you had all the way over here, but they are tying their best". That was enough said. I wont ever go back!

Hotel was very clean, staff was very friendly, Pool & Hot tub was indoor too! Also have a small patio area outside with table and chairs available. Attendants at the front desk were Amazing, Helpful, and Funny too! Easy access and close to the city's attractions, drive time 30 miles out give or take. Our Family of 5 stayed in one of their queen suites, ample room, pull out sofa too. Word of advice book ahead of time this hotel is one of the better hotels with Best Western, the only one with an indoor pool and hot tub. This place fills up fast! There is alot to do in San Antonio so we decided to extend our stay, spoke to staff and they worked it out for us on a Friday too Yall, and air force graduation as well! That was awesome! Yall Rule! We will be back For Sure!

lol I don't even know where to start. I just called the front desk to ask if I could book and she was rude as you could imagine. FOR NO REASON. I stayed there before so I was going to give them my business again because its convenient to the highway. Stay away from these people. The elevator didn't even work when I stayed before.

Has good reviews but our stay was not good. This is really ran down. Hot tub was filthy. Bed didn't even have top comforter only sheets. Tv looked like it was going to fall off the wall the way it was hung. Cleaning staff bothered that we asked to check in early and didn't allow us to check until 4:30 (1hr later then check in). Seemed like no one was in charge and just staff hanging out bothered by the guests.

My stay here was business related and paid for by my work. During my stay the pool was overheated to dangerous levels. Basically, it was the temperature that the jacuzzi is supposed to be. And, the jacuzzi was inoperable, did not heat. I brought this up to management and it was not fixed during the 28 days I was there. The room was dirty with lots of dust built up in the AC unit and other areas of the room. The Carpet was also quite dirty. Lastly, the AC/heating system would work sporadically throughout the day which was annoying considering how humid and hot Texas can get. The entry card readers did not work on any of the exterior entrances. The staff were very friendly and helpful. To-Go breakfast was always good, could not complain about that.

Great customer service but this hotel needs a serious upgrade & to be deep cleaned .I brought my concerns to there attention about dust mites& 3 days later I still have no response . Several things were broken & the odor was strong.. this place needs a serious deep cleaning

We have stayed at this BW for several years at Christmas time. We have stayed because of the indoor, heated pool. This year the pool was over heated - could only do about 3/4s of my traditional workout. On the last night, there were about 25 guests in the pool. The children were running and jumping and doing "belly-flop" dives. Staff refused to interceed. We were forced to leave the pool area.

This a convenient location, gas station in same parking area. Close to Walmart and 10 minutes from River Walk. Nice indoor pool. They have excellent security guard on sight. Great parking area, well lite.

My elderly parents decided they wanted to visit San Antonio for a friends birthday. They visited from California. During their stay, my father became ill. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond in assisting my parents during their visit. My dad had to go to the ER while they stayed. He came back to the hotel right after the ER visit but still had 3 days left in the stay. During the next 3 days, the staff ensured that my parents received attention such as bringing fresh water to their room and even assisting them with printing boarding passes for their flight home. My father reported how appreciative he was to the hotel staff. He also reported the hotel was clean and generally lovely. Thank you to the amazing staff!

Great service breakfast clean . The customer service great. The employee are so attative! The rooms are nice size they have security at night and close to down town ! At night you have restaurant with in driving distance!

The place was over priced we booked a suite and it was old furniture, ants, just gross. Mold in bathroom, fixtures missing , ceiling fan broken. We changed rooms after ants and second was worse. Won't stay there again.

I checked in and everything appeared fine. During the night, it was discovered that the bed was infested with ants. Upon telling the front desk of the issue, they responded with a simple "ok?" as if this is a normal occurence here and that i should just accept it and go on.

The best staff and the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. A/C works good and BIG TV. Shower was a walk-in which was great to have. If you stay here the only drawback is that if you like pillows, you need to bring some. they give you four small square pillows per king bed. For me did mind.

I was really upset to know my jewelry was stolen from me and nothing happened. I put in a police report and I'm just waiting to here back,I'm going to continue to fight this issue to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else

The location is near a VERY busy circle K and Jack in the box. Signs on the hotel entrances states to secure your items and hide them etc...not a great welcome. Hotel has a chlorine or strong cleaning smell that lingers in the air throughout the first floor. Overall for the cost of the hotel it's best to spend a little more and go somewhere else.

This hotel was very clean. Beds were extremely comfortable. Linda the lady at the front desk was so sweet and very helpful. I'm not sure what the maintenance mans name was but he was always polite and extremely friendly. We and a large amount of family attending my sons graduation from the airforce. We had a great time. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. There were options. The one thing I didnt like was that the pillows were not regular size. They were smaller squares like couch pillow shaped. Laundry on site.

Really nice and clean hotel. The rooms are always clean. The lobby is really nice. The breakfast every morning is really good and have a variety of options. Great location to be, close to malls and sea world is a plus.

I stayed in this hotel to see my daughter graduate from the Air Force Basic Training. The area was safe. There were places to eat nearby, including Walmart. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good enough to get you full enough to start your day. I slept very good, because the beds was all so comfortable. Overall, this is a good place to stay at especially with kids.

Chose this hotel for the work location where I was assigned to, but ended up staying an extra night as the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again and I'll probably plan a trip with the family as I felt it was a safe area.

I was surprised to be writing this, considering how high the rating are for this hotel. To start off, our hotel room had hair in the pillows and sheets. When we asked for them to be changed, there was a blonde staff lady who gave an attitude about it, and in spanish, said 'I dunno what they expect, all hotels have hair' to her co-worker. I'm guessing she assumed I didn't know how to speak spanish. Anyway, this became a confrontation and she ended up leaving the other staff to re-make our bed without hairs. Anytime the blonde lady would see us after that, she would give us a dirty look. Our room was a disability room, however, the shower was extremely moldy. There were black stains randomly on the walls, and on the shower head. I took a shower first, and the floor was so slippery, I slipped and fell. Had it been my mother who slipped, it would have been a massive lawsuit, because she is the one with a disability. That aside, there was also a big spider web in the corner of the room that was never cleaned up. I also asked for an extra blanket, but of course, it had a strangers hair on it. At that point, I gave up, and that was only day one. On one of our last days, I was waiting in the lobby for my uber ride to the base. Sure enough, the blonde staff lady and a lady of the kitchen started arguing with a customer who just wanted to get food. The 'manager' who wasn't really a manager, stepped in but had poor customer service skills, and told the customer to lower her voice and to 'calm down'. This pissed off the customer even more, and it became a brawl. More customers got involved and it turned into a big fight in the cafeteria. It escalated almost all the way outside the lobby doors. I was almost hit, but thankfully my ride arrived in time and I told him to get me the hell out of there. I wanted to speak to a manager about all this, but the day of the fight, the manager 'wasn't in and wouldn't be until 10am', so I wanted, but he ended up having to handle the issues from the fight, and was only in for an hour or two and never got back to me. I got a free night for the first incident with the hair, but only ten dollars off for the fight. To make matters interesting, we had been putting water and snacks on our hotel room tab (less than 5$), and on the last day, I just wanted a soda, and the receptionist suddenly tells me that it has to be over 5$ in order to put it on the hotel tab. I told her I haven't been this entire time, so why the change? She said it was the policy. So I guess they ended up losing money because their own staff doesn't care. I'm just extremely disappointed. It was unacceptable and inconsistent. Also, random construction happens after 10pm for some reason. Our door number was on a post-it on the door. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

I didn't feel the clerk that checked me in was that friendly, but after I checked in I was very happy with my room. The room was nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was very good with a large selection of warm and cold items and the lady in charge of the breakfast kept everything well stocked. The check was pleasant and overall I really enjoyed staying here. I would gladly return to stay here.

I really really tried to like this property. The entrance into the hotel was odd. The front desk staff was friendly. Upon arrival, we found hair on the bathroom towels. As we looked around the room we noticed hair on the floor and desk chair. When we received new towels daily....we found hair on at least one or two of the towels. The cleaning staff did find us a leather chair to replace the dirty cloth one. On a good note...the bed and pillows were comfortable. There was cable tv, a fridge, and microwave that came in handy. We were able to use the fitness center....we had a good workout....however there were no towels and water. The breakfast was just okay and crowded. The bacon was hard and sausage tasted terrible. But at least there were several other options.

Great hotel with a friendly and courteous staff, plus the room was very clean and relaxing. When we are in the San Antonio area again we will definitely going to stay the night at this location. My children enjoyed the heated pool.

Very convenient to Texas A&M Unv of San Antonio. Just down the street. Price was excellent when your visiting someone for few days. I visited my daughter whom goes to Texas A&M and very very nice to stay close by when we visit her. 2 flea markets very near by and lots of restaurants and shopping around. Military Dr is not far at all (Down the street couple lights dwn) and it has everything you need like a mall and so many shopping places and eats. Great beds and AC/heater wrks great. not far from River Walk/ Downtown area , a little bit of driving but still its tolerable and not far. Property is quiet and safe/secure. Staff is wonderful and welcoming. very fast check in and out. I always stay here when i visit my daughter at college on a short stay. very affordable and convenient and I recommend this property to anyone. We travel ALOT and stay at many hotels so ,YES i give this place a thumbs up. :)

Hotel was very clean and maintained. Hot food during breakfast was good, but "Continental" type items did not seem fresh. Staff was friendly and helpful, except when requesting a late checkout. When I inquired about setting up getting a late checkout (an extra 30 minutes to an hour at most), I was advised I would have to check back after shift change on the day of my checkout. This would require calling back to the hotel and potentially missing an event.

First time I have ever stayed at a Best Western. The room was ready before my actual check in. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Has frig and coffee maker. Breakfast included with the room. House cleaning was very helpful. As for the front desk service needs some work customer service ethics.

I like to get on Trip Advisor to read reviews and this hotel had some good ones. On trip advisor it will show the price which I find convenient it does the work for you. It took me to Priceline.Booked a room. My fault I booked 2 rooms and forgot to call to ask if I could get to rooms together. Checked it at 6pm apologized for not calling but could I get to rooms on the same floor. No she explained that since I did not use the BW web site the rooms are pre assigned and can not be changed. I asked if I could upgrade a room and pay the difference to be on the same floor which was told I would have to do that through the company I purchased the rooms from. interesting I have upgraded my room plenty of times through Book it and Priceline at the hotel just paid the difference. Do not think I agree with to many of the reviews. Noisy room. Sounds from the freeway kids, running in the hall.Guess I will see my kids at breakfast. So morale of the story call ahead before they assign you a room or use their web site.

There is not a lot of choices on the south side of San Antonio, but this Best Western is all anyone should need. Very clean and comfortable room. A/c was cold, water pressure was strong and hot. Fridge has a freezer compartment to re-freeze my ice packs for the cooler. Extra blanket and towel were easy to access at the front desk. And the breakfast was fantastic! Different varieties of scrambled eggs, and two different styles of waffles for the kids. For me it's all about the little details, and this Best Western has that. Also, located next to a Circle K gas station, and across the highway from fast food ... Whataburger, Taco Cabana, and Sonic. Definitely recommended!

This BW Plus property was bright and clean, with professional staff. I was staying there for business and the rooms were wonderful, including fridge and microwave. Free breakfast served from 6:30 to 9:30 every day and was very nice. Would like to see veggie sausage offered like some Marriott properties do. I would recommend this one for anyone traveling to SA or locations south.

We would stay here again, very clean, breakfast was very good, bed very comfortable, internet spotty at times, The only real negative was figuring how to get to the motel from highway, we could see it but roads were troublesome.

We stayed here for 5 nights, while attending the Air Force BMT Graduation ceremonies. It's a very nice property. It's conveniently locate, with easy access to the highway. It's not very far from Lackland AF Base. There's also a gas station/convenience store very close to the property. Our suite was very clean and beautifully decorated. the beds are comfortable. The hot breakfast was very nice. I really appreciated the guest laundry because we flew into San Antonio and packed light. Staff was very friendly. I highly recommend!

Really nice hotel, location is great close to the highway easy access. The customer service is really good and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Nice indoor pool great for kids if you want to have a small weekend gateway.

The rooms here are very clean and spacious. They have everything you need. The staff here and especially the manager are very friendly and professional. They don't keep you want they are very prompt. Day to day the indoor pool and hot tub was clean and the outdoor patio stayed clean. It was very relaxing to sit on the patio with the wind barely blowing. Breakfast was awesome people went out of their way and carried a smile on their face at all times. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. I already miss talking to the staff about football and news and all sorts of things. They are awesome you can't get a better hotel especial for that price.

Stay at this hotel six nights while visiting San Antonio. The hotel is located near to lackland however it is quiet far from the airport. My room was nice, I definitely appreciated being ground level staying six nights. My bed was not comfortable after the first night! After the first night it made like a sink hole. Housekeeping staff was on point and my room A/C was powerful! The hotels breakfast is decent if ur staying one or two nights because it's the same thing nearly every morning. Would book again if I visit the area for short stay, nothing more than 2 nights, theres not much to do or see compared to other hotels in the city. Where you can walk to major attractions, bars, and such.

The room was nice. My daughter noticed an odor but I could not detect it. The security staff was great. The breakfast was good as well, but the hours aren't the best when going to BMT graduation events. The pool was also nice to cool off in after a day of Texas sunshine. Given it all again I would stay here with out a doubt!

My family visited San Antonio to attend my son's BMT graduation. I chose Best Western Plus-Palo Alto because the location was not too far from the base, rates were very reasonable, and the online reviews were good. I reserved 2 rooms for 4 nights for a total party of 4 people. We arrived very late (1 a.m.), but were able to check in with ease. The check-in staff was very friendly and helpful. After check-in, my hotel experience went downhill. My room smelled horrible. It was damp and felt disgusting. While it was neat, I could tell that it was not clean. The carpet was very dark to hide dirt. It stuck to my foot as I walked across it. The shower tile and grout was dark, but there were darker spots on the tile, which was either mold or dirt build up. Because it was so late, I did not complain. However, the next morning, we notified the hotel staff that the room had an odor and was not clean. The staff was very apologetic, and sent someone to our room to vacuum and “freshen” the room. The housekeeping staff left a bottle of comet in our room. When I sprayed some on the tile in the bathroom floor and wiped with a white towel, the towel became black from the dirt. At this point, we requested another room. We were told that the hotel was booked to capacity and there were no rooms available. We requested to cancel our reservation and move to another hotel. Our request was not denied, but we were informed that we had to be checked out by 12:30 p.m. With the BMT events that were going on, it was impossible to pack-up and check out by 12:30 p.m., so we had no choice but stay or miss the events we had traveled so far to be a part of. We had to set the a/c to 60 degrees to rid the dampness and the smell from our room. On the morning of day 3, we asked the housekeeping staff to change our bedsheets. She replied that they didn't have any extra sheets. On the evening of day 3, after being out in the hot sun all day, I went downstairs to request an extra set of towels for a shower. The staff at the front desk told me that I needed to bring him our dirty towels and he would exchange them. I have NEVER stayed in a hotel that has made such a request. Ridiculous! Based on the online reviews, maybe my experience was a unique one, but it was bad enough to make me never stay at another Best Western.

This past March 2017. Looking forward to some place warm to visit. We decided to go to San Antonio instead of Florida this year. Since we are reward members of Best Western it was no brainer to stay at one of their hotels. We found Palo Alto which was conviently located a good choice.The Staff were awesome. Check in process was a breeze since we booked directly with Best Western. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very spacious. The daily breakfast that are served are delicious. They are are not far from Downtown San Antonio. There are several restaurants near hotel such as Sonic, Whataburger., and convience store with gas station closes by. Definitely would recommend.

Came into town for my sons graduation from Air Force BMT. Arrived late after several flight delays. J R at the front desk was fabulous. He made check in a breeze and made it clear that they value my business. Rooms were nice. I did notice that there was a few stains on the cushions and the carpet in the room needed some spot cleaning here and there, but all in all the suite was well appointed. I have stayed un a wide range of hotels in my travels and many of them 5 stars. This hotel is an excellent value for the price. Youd be hard pressed to find the same quality at this price elsewhere Thanks JR for the warm and friendly greeting after a very tiring and late day, and thanks for making my stay great. If I find myself in San Antonio again, you can be sure I will be booking a room here

BEST NIGHT'S SLEEP!! The beds and pillows are super comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Easy 15 minute drive to Lackland AFB (and that's saying something for TX roads) Guarded lot each night made me feel safe. Can't say enough for this hotel!!

We booked a queen suite with kitchenette and it was very spacious. The beds were comfy and this is a handy location about 12 miles outside of San Antonio. The price tends to be a good bit cheaper because of this. The kitchenette is very sparsely equipped with cutlery etc but there is a large fridge freezer and hot plate as well as the usual microwave. Breakfast included some hot items as well such as scrambled eggs and sausages. The breakfast staff didn't seem to be refreshing items as they were used and both days we were there we had to ask for bread and they just brought out a couple of slices at a time. There was only a couple off apples in the fruit display so I'm not sure if these were ever full but again not replenished. There is an indoor pool and a small gym area. The pool does have a lot of chlorine so be careful as it seemed to aggravate my children's eyes. Fortunately this seems to be common in the USA so I usually travel with eye drops now just in case.

Great location and a quick easy drive to base. Everything was clean and breakfast was great :) we utilize the Jack-in-the-Box right there beside the hotel that was very convenient as well as the gas station you can walk right to

Stayed at this property for 5 nights in Feb 2018 and found it to be clean, good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Easy Access to highways in all directions. Beds were comfortable in our King Suite.

Not to far from the base and has quite a few food choices near, I would stay here again only downfall was the guy at check in was rude and not very knowledgeable and the WiFi was pretty bad. Rooms are clean and the pool/spa area is relaxing.

Would not recommend. 1st room had a broken lamp, torn cushion on sofa, and stained cushion on chair. 2nd room had an unattached 110VAC wall outlet I was afraid to use. Breakfast was poor quality and not hot. No decent places to eat within a reasonable distance. Staff seemed unmotivated. Windows in lobby were dirty.

Stayed here to attended graduation at Lackland. Spent 5 days including Christmas here. The rooms were clean and all the staff was great. They let us use the conference room for family our Christmas dinner. The breakfast was very good. Great place to stay. A variety of eating places to choose from in area.

We came for our daughter Basic Training Graduation and stayed for 7 days, 6 nights. This place was more like a home for the week. The rooms were very nice, up to date, clean and the bed was comfy. The staff was super helpful in allowing us to use the eating area to help fulfill my daughters wish of homemade food. They also allowed us to use other areas to have a comfortable Christmas with a family of 14. Super friendly and for sure went above and beyond to make our Christmas a memorable one.

I requested a wheelchair accessible room for me and my family we were split up into two separate rooms which meant I had to sleep with my daughter in one room and my husband slept with my son in another room. In my husband's room was a small refrigerator that I opened up and there was a plate of rotten food a Bud Light beer and mold growing in the refrigerator. There was hair embedded in the sheets on the bed and we had no room service for 3 days although I required extra room service for my daughter's room due to her medical condition. My grandson woke up with a cockroach on his hand probably because of the rotten food and the trash not being taken out. When I complained I was told the manager was not available and would not be available until the following Monday and they gave me a $10 discount. When I mentioned to the front desk about the sheets being dirty they came and they handed me sheets and told me to make my own bed. We had no clean towels and all the dirty towels stayed piled on the floor.

We spent 5 days at this hotel for our 2 sons graduation from BMT. The rooms were reasonably priced, clean, and only about 15 minutes from the base. Easy access to the Valley Hi Gate. Traffic was light

We stayed here when we were in town for BMT graduation. It wasn't the closest hotel to the AF Base, but we didn't mind being about 15 minutes down the highway. Our flight put us in town before lunch, so we saw a few sights, and had a nice lunch to pass the time until check in at 3. We were very tired, so we showed up about 2 to see if we could go ahead and check in,which we were able to do. We had a King room on the 3rd floor, and it was very nice and comfortable. There was a ceiling fan in the room, which was like home, and the bed was wonderful. The housekeeping staff was great, and kept our room spotless and left enough coffee for the mornings. The breakfast was very good, and had a variety of things to offer. We didn't use the indoor pool or hot tub, but it seemed to be clean and popular with the other hotel guests. We were very satisfied with our stay, and we would recommend it to other travelers.

Ants all over room and crawling on us.. staff did not care and offered $5 off and that was it. They were very rude and condescending about the whole thing. The room is all so obnoxiously expensive for the quality of the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay! Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the towels were fluffy. The 24 hr coffee in the lobby was wonderful and so was breakfast in the morning.. Wonderful staff ! Shout out to Unique and Victor. Both of them were extremely helpful and friendly.

Hotel was as expected- clean and comfortable. It was about 15 minutes from Lackland-- there are closer hotels if that's your destination. Breakfast was very good and well serviced. Room furniture and carpet is looking tired-- hallway had an odd odor. There is night security outside which is nice.

toilet had vomit or worse all down side and dirty wash cloth over shower.breakfast was not good at all .only scrambled eggs and tasteless sausage,no bacon ,hashbrowns or decent muffins so if you book Best Western for the breakfast forget it! bed was a little too soft and its right by freeway so loud traffic

We had a nice stay at this hotel and it was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was clean and hot food was placed out regularly. We had no issues during our 5 night stay.

Highly recommend if you are going to graduation ceremonies at Lackland AFB. Good location. Drive to AFB generally about 10 minutes and never really hit traffic. Rooms very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious, I only wish on Thursdays they would have served breakfast earlier than 6:30, only due to the fact we were told to be at the AFB 6am because of the expected large crowds. But overall was a wonderful 5 night stay.

Overall a very good, comfortable hotel for the price. Nice room decor and amenities, beautiful HDTV and satellite service, and very comfortable bed. With some minor effort, the following issues could be fixed: - The treadmill in the fitness center does not incline/decline and needs to be repaired. Other machines are outdated and uncomfortable; upgrades are probably available for very reasonable price. - Clean hall and stairwell carpets at some frequency - they are very dirty and stained. - Offer fresh hot bacon, eggs, and potatoes. Current stuff is obviously frozen and reheated. Bacon is especially disgusting.

Very conveniently located to Lackland as well as downtown....the Riverwalk is a must see !! Our room was very clean and modern. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and also had a ceiling fan in room which helped in the 100 degree weather we experienced!!! It was a great stay ! Thank you !!

Great location, 15 minute drive to Lackland AFB, and about the same to the downtown riverwalk area, easy access on and off of I-410. Good breakfast selection, very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was very friendly and nice. Great value.

The property was very well kept. The staff were friendly. The air conditioning worked very well in the room and the halls. The bed was extermely comfortable. The pool was clean. The bathroom was clean and functioning well. I would definitely stay again!

Good clean hotel my only complaint is in the past they had a bad problem of vehicles getting broken into The last time we stayed here one of my coworkers vehicle was broken into but I noticed they have a security guard now

Very clean and staff very friendly. Saw lots of family staying there and hotel was very quiet. Several places to eat around the area. Located near convenience store for easy access to gas and snacks. I highly recommend this location for future stays.

Hotel room stinks and dirty if you stay more then one night then your room will stay dirty hall way stinks carpets are dirty but hotel is in a good location by the high way everything around it 20 min drive

The hotel needs to be updated, carpet stained, patches on the wall, missing furniture in room, dirty, tv mounted crooked. Staff meets bare minimum expectations. Was given keys to a room that was already occupied. Domestic violence in the hallway at night.

Hallways are HOT! Furniture in the rooms was threadbare . The sofa was coming apart at the seams. The room was clean and the air conditioning in the rooms worked well despite the hallways. If you need to stay close to the college the location is the best and there are no other close options.

the location was good off 410 hwy. The room was clean and good bed with several pillows. The staff at check-in was helpful in recommending places to eat dinner. I would stay here again. The breakfast was also good with great coffee.

We were upset that we couldn't get a later check out. Check out was 11 and We had to be out of the room by 11. Also We were packing all of our luggages on the luggage cart as a housekeeper walks passed and says "are we out yet and rolling yet?, it's already 11:10" very rudely. And we felt very rushed out. I completely understand they had to clean but as they see we are struggling to get all our stuff onto the cart we there for 5 nights we had a lot of stuff.

The hotel is a little farther out of town than I expected, but there were some things nearby. The wifi in the room was spotty. The front desk staff and breakfast attendant were very friendly and helpful! The Texas waffles at breakfast were DELICIOUS!

I usually stay exclusively at BW hotels when I travel. I stay 20-30 nights every year. I have to say, this was not the fanciest BW I have ever stayed at....but the bed was the most comfortable I have ever had. The room was quiet and the AC unit was also. The breakfast was good, but the coffee served in the breakfast room was WONDERFUL! Usually hotel coffee is weak and cold...this was STRONG and BOLD! I will stay here again!

The Best Western Palo Alto, is a bit south, on loop 410, but easily accessible to many San Antonio attractions, and very close to the Mission Trail. The rates were excellent, and the quality of service very good. It is in a quiet location, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a restful place to stay, away from all the inner city, tourist-laden crowds.

I travel a lot for business and have stayed in several different hotels throughout the country. Overall, this is a good place to stay. Our room smelled a bit dank but was not overbearing. It smelled better than a popular casino hotel. Not naming names but it was not best western. Overall the place was clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend.

For being located so far outside of the city, this hotel was quite nice! The room was well appointed, furnishings new and ample pillows provided. The breakfast was quite good as well. Real scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, waffles - they have it all, and it's complimentary. I did find it hard to locate the correct driveway in the dark. You can see the building, but there are no signs pointing you the right way. If you are coming from 16 southbound, you have to turn right at the Valero gas station, go behind it, then left into the hotel driveway. If you are coming from 410 eastbound, again turn like you are going to the Valero. If you turn too soon, you end up in an apartment complex. Too late, and you have to turn right on 16... Just turn like you are going to the Valero and you will get there. Poor signage is my point. Also, the southern entry to the property was gated shut. Not sure why. The evening check in staff was lovely, and if you are lucky, you will meet Victor. He was very professional and courteous and gave me a spacious room on the first floor. He was also very accommodating to me after I returned from a long hard (hot) day working outside and allowed me space in the dining area to finish working and packing/shipping materials before I went to my room. Now, here's why I took away a star: The room smelled like a mechanic. Not just any mechanic, but one soaked in motor oil. You notice it immediately, but quickly become nose-blind to it. For this I was grateful. I'm not sure if this was remnant of a previous guest, or resultant of the cleaning products that housekeeping uses. I also noted that housekeeping seemed a bit lazy with respect to taking care of my room. I stayed two nights. The trash cans were not emptied during my stay, and the provided toiletries I used were not replaced. They did come in the room, as the bed was roughly made and my towels replaced. But that was about it. Overall I think this is a very nice hotel, worth visiting if you are on the southwest side of town.

It was very beautiful and the breakfast was plentiful with fruit, yogurt, eggs and beans with tortillas, biscuit, bagel, waffles, assorted juice and fresh coffee. The room was big and very clean. The showers water was not too warm bit was told that probably everyone was taking a shower at night ( first time I have ever heard that as an excuse).

I was a good stay overall. It started kind of bad with the first lady at front desk when i tried to check in she was rude. But since when i came back to check in a 2nd time when rooms were ready had a different lady and was more pleasant.

Stayed with my in laws in a 2 queen beds suite. Room was clean and staff was very friendly. We checked in really late after midnight and we didn't have any problems. We stayed here for my husband's BMT graduation and he got to rest here which is awesome. There was little to no noise too! Breakfast was good. We didn't have to drive far to the base. I definitely recommend if you aren't able to get a room on base!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast is fantastic. Internet is good. I would have given them a 4 star had I not had multiple issues during the check out process. My bill was incorrect. It took 3 days to get a refund. Then I noticed another incorrect charge on my credit card in which they have processed a refund. I sent a Fedex mail slip due to something being left in the room and 4 days later it has yet to be sent to me. I feel like I have received the run around from their staff and it is beyond frustrating.

This property was clean and neat, easy to access from freeway and the hot breakfast was very good the next morning. It was a pleasure to have real eggs instead of the egg beaters so many hotels use. We were visiting for my nephews graduation from Air Force and the hotel was convenient to the air base.

This hotel is older but it is clean and a great place to stay! It has an indoor pool with whirlpool, free breakfast, and laundry facilities. The employees were all welcoming and willing to assist us when we needed something. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are needing to stay in this area!

Our room interior was new and clean but a few minutes after we started unpacking in our first room on the second floor, a really nasty grinding noise outside started, apparently from one of the heat exchanger units on the ground outside. We asked reception to move us which they did, but as the place was full (spring break, and near an airforce base), so we ended up on the 4th floor directly above the same noisy unit, which continued to grind away for 15 minutes out of every two hours all night. So, a good stay was somewhat spoiled by needing to sleep with ear plugs! That said, breakfast was above average for motels, and the desk staff were helpful and efficient. When we spoke to the manager on checkout, he took notice of the noise problem, so I'd hope the unit soon gets the maintenance it needs. Otherwise, a good place to say only 20 minutes drive from the Alamo and with plenty of places to eat on Southeast Military Drive a couple of miles north.

The women at the front desk and the cleaning staff that I interacted with were all very friendly. And we visited during spring break when the hotel was all booked up, so I assume that is the reason for some of our issues. But over all I found that the hotel was somewhat dirty and run-down looking. The rugs in the hallway and in our room were stained. I found a long black hair in my bed (not the color or length of anyone's hair in our party). The pool had lots of hair floating in it and several clumps of hair stuck to the tiles along the side. Our room was also loud, with noise from the highway and people yelling in the hallway late into the night. The breakfast was good though and the bed was comfortable. It's about a 20 minute drive to the attractions downtown and feels like it's out in the middle of nowhere. I probably wouldn't stay there again, but it was fine for one night.

A little off the beaten path, but still convenient to all the attractions San Antonio has to offer. Awesome service during our stay. Hotel is very nice & priced very reasonably. I will stay there again on my next visit to San Antonio

We stayed four nights for our daughters graduation from airforce basic training. Overall we were satisfied. Good location but no restaurant on the premises. The breakfast was good and the hotel was clean. Met our expectations.

Great location to base easy on easy off access and direct route. There are other hotels in the area but we found this to be the best for all our needs. Stores are close by and food as well as fast food and a Walmart that is less then 5 min away. there is a gas station in the same lot with a convenience store

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff are exceptional and very welcoming. We arrived late (I recommend calling and letting them know if you arrive late). The breakfast is okay, not great but pretty good overall. The rooms are nice, however, the sheets were rough and seemed to be a little worn out. That is an easy fix and I hope they do that soon. Would I stay again?--absolutely!

We had a 3 day weekend event in SAN Antonio. The Best Western Plus Pablo Alto was a perfect place to stay. It is very convenient right off Loop 410. The room was clean with no odor at all. The king bed was extremely comfortable and the room was well appointed. The hot breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety. Check in was quick and easy and staff was friendly and professional. We will be back.

This property was a pleasant surprise from check in through the entire stay. Property is newer, located outside of San Antonio proper with easy access from 410 and other major highways as well. Lobby is clean, and staff was friendly and welcoming. Room size is large compared to many, well equipped for business or pleasure travel. Mattress was firm and linens were crisp. Bathroom was well lit, with good supply of towels, and a great shower head, with good water pressure and temperature. This facility had a really nice breakfast area. Well supplied, well organized, and well maintained by the person on duty. Most notable was the cleanliness and selection. I really think this has to do with the person in charge of the buffet area as much as management. The lady manning the area was friendly and ever attentive to the condition of her breakfast buffet. She kept everything hot and filled kudos to her! I will definitely stay at this location again when on business travel to the area.

This was my 2nd stay at this property and I was glad to see that my biggest negative from my 1st stay had been addressed which was the wi-fi. Stayed here over the Labor Day weekend as we bought a new vehicle and took in two minor league ballgames. Compared to other hotels this one was the cheapest which surprised me. Our usual hotel was going to cost $150 a night. Breakfast was good and had healthy food options and I appreciated that they had bottled water in the fitness center. It's easy to get off and onto Interstate 410. Signage for the property could be a little bigger.

4.0 star rating 8/15/2016 3 check-ins I would stay here again, even for $104 a night plus tax (corporate rate). It was noisy on first floor, and not a lot of hot water but the hotel itself was easy to get to, which was a plus! The people were pretty friendly, and it was clean, so that was great! I did have to ask how to turn on the a/c, as it had an old unit under the window, but the control was on the wall. Loved the hot tub and pool, which we got to enjoy earlier in the day with no one around, although when we went back that night there were a couple families that had every table and chair taken, so we didn't go back in. Breakfast was okay but people were rude as always....the food will be there people! My gosh, there's plenty for everyone! Biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, waffles and pancakes and toppings, cereal, 3 kinds of juice and water, pastries, bagels, toast. There was good tv reception, and lots of room in just the king room, pillow top bed okay, but I'm not a huge fan of pillow top beds, so that's probably just me. All in all, it was probably a solid 3.5 stars, but upping to 4 stars isn't too much of a stretch. Clean, friendly people, and pretty comfortable...everything we wanted for a quick trip to San Antonio!

I always second guess myself whenever I stay at a 3-star rated hotel. You ask yourself repeatedly "Is this 'barely' three stars or a 'solid' three stars. This hotel is much more than three stars. I give it at least 4 stars because it is firing on all cylinders. The rooms were spacious and always clean; and ours (room 103) had a spa (woohoo). The mattresses were comfortable and the pillows (6 of them) were also more comfortable than most luxury hotels. The bathrooms were squeaky clean every day, and the rooms had single-serving coffee makers with plenty of coffee. The room air-conditioner kept the room at a very comfortable 75 degrees, even though it was 103 outside. The Wifi worked very well too. If there is one thing to fault, it is the shower over tub; it was slippery and could cause a slip and fall. I would hope the hotel puts down some kind of anti-slip material in the tubs for safety or you could accomplish some degree of safety by using a towel on the tub floor. The breakfasts were a little every day and always good, except they could have had a little better selection of sweet rolls. But then, I could have made myself a waffle, if I wanted. There were scrambled eggs, eggs with potatoes, bell peppers and onions, and eggs with a hint of cheese. Each day featured a different meat side, such as bacon, patties, or sausage links. Plenty of cereals, yogurts, jams, toasts, juices, teas, etc, etc to make a regular restaurant blush with envy. And everything tasted good! My complements to the kitchen staff, for sure. They have an excellent work-out room (which I failed to use) a nice, indoor swimming pool and spa complex, a two-station computer room with printers, and plenty of parking, and a mini-store with snacks right off the front desk. The staff was always helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic. Right off the 410 Loop, and there was a gas station, a Jack-in-the-Box, and a convenience store within 100 yards of the hotel. We were 10 minutes away from Lackland AF Base's Valley Hi Road entrance. I don't know why I am NOT giving them 5 stars, except if I did, then people would think I was working for the hotel (I'm not), or that I am not a well-heeled traveler (which I am), or that I am just too darn easy on the reviews (I am not...I am a stickler for cleanliness, service, and attentiveness). They deserve a 4.5 rating, at least.

Came to San Antonio for two days to bring the kids to Sea World. Hotel is very clean. Beds are comfortable and not stingy with the pillows they provide. The front desk staff is very friendly and polite .. especially Teeana. They were also so nice to upgrade us to a bigger room since the tv remote from our previous room wasn't working. Very nice gesture of them. This was above and beyond what other hotels would do. Location is also convenient. Close to sea world. Will definitely recommend it and most definitely stay here again. Thank you for our comfortable stay. "

We have stayed at this BW a number of times, but this stay was the best one. Frankly, we like this BW because of it's easy access to San Antonio, with prices much more affordable. This trip was for the Texas State Democratic Convention and for pleasure, afterwards. We enjoy the indoor pool which is available year round. With the continued improvement of quality and service, we will certainly stay at this BW again.

I took a road trip with a friend the length of TX Highway 16. We stayed here the first night and slept so well. The next morning we slogged it out across the brush country for hours to get to the end of the road, Zapata. Then with the heat baring down and little scenery to ogle, we headed north again. We did not have much of a discussion of where to stay, since we both liked the Best Western Palo Alto a lot. Another good night's sleep was our reward for loyalty. Nice staff too. Good location for travel and for exploring San Antonio.

Staff was not overly friendly. Hotel had s musty smell all throughout. I was in a king bed room and the AC blew right in the bed because there was no vent control. The thermostat was also inconsistent. Room was either hot or too cold. Walk in shower was also an issue. You had to walk all the way in to man handle the faucet to get the water to turn on and get your morning wake up of ice cold water spraying on you. Also was not told about tax exempt forms for government travel. The Maid survive was good and breakfast was ok. I will give them props for their coffee it was great. Also the only restraints around are jack in the box, whattaburger and sonic. If you are going to Lackland dailyI do not recommend this hotel. Drive wasn't bad but could've stayed at a nicer hotel closer to the base and more amenities.

This Best Western was in the south part of San Antonio, yet not too far from major attractions and the Mission Trail. Over all, it was quiet, and the room was clean and comfortable. An added bonus was that we were given a suite, with a nice sitting area and large screen TV-- enough room for 3 people. I would stay here again.

The room was very comfortable, the queen sized beds provide plenty of space for a restful sleep. Love the showers, my daughter enjoyed the fitness room every day. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit and juices, herbal tea and coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us, close to the highway, did not experience any traffic problems, 12 minutes away from AFB and close to all the other famous places to visit in San Antonio.

The staff warned us about not being able to find this hotel on our navigation system, but it was not very difficult to find. (It is on the same exit as the Palo Alto college!) We were very happy with the overall location--the hotel lobby itself & our room was clean & comfortable. Staff was friendly, too. The hotel has been maintained well & makes it feels "nicer" than other BWs we have frequented in the past. A hot breakfast is served for the guests, which is wonderful & has a little bit of everything. We were overall very satisfied & while nervous that we were too close to the air force base--noise was not an issue whatsoever. We will be staying here again!

went to san antonio for a basic graduation and had 3 rooms. 2 were close together, the other one above us, which was okay. the hotel is clean. the kids loved the pool. lackland is close. would recommend to anyone.

I would highly recommend this hotel if you are going to see your son/daughter graduate from Basic Training. This hotel was only 4 exits away, and roughly 10 min from the base. The staff were outstanding and courteous, very helpful with directions, and info about the River Walk. The room was great, and the bed was comfortable. My only complain is the small pillows, they are was too small and for me were terrible to sleep with. Breakfast was very good, and better than other Best Western hotels I've stayed in. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I was told the price was $149 but was charged $175, the staff was ok but seemed a little tense, and it was hard to understand the person who checked me in. I didn't find out till I checked my cc online. when I checked out there was no one at the desk.

This property was beautiful and a great location only 15 minutes from the base. Lots of families staying here for the graduation weekend, but the staff handled it well and kept the breakfast hot and full for everyone, even starting it an hour early so we could get to base on time! Don't let the map fool you...this Best Western Plus is out of the way (little traffic noise compared to other San Antonio locations) yet right off Loop 410 and close to I35 and so is an easy "starting place" for business in and around the city. A newer hotel, this location features a restaurant-grade breakfast with food prepared with care and attention to actual flavor! Combined with a friendly staff and comfortable beds, this location is a safe choice in the San Antonio area.

The hotels floor inside and just outside of the elevator was always wet. The cleaning staff smelled like cigarette smoke. My room faced out of the front of the building there was an intersection and a gas station there was loud road traffic at all times. Getting to the hotel you had to exit two exits ahead of time to get to it. reaccessing the freeway was easy.

Wonderful Hotel, we stayed for 4 nights for our son's graduation from Basic Military Training at Lackland. Staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was awesome. Beautiful decor and inviting atmosphere!!!! Our room was very spacious, 2 Queen Suite!!!!! Gave us alot of room to visit with our Airman instead of piling up on 2 beds!!!! Awesome stay!!!!

If you are attending an Airman Graduation, this is a great hotel. We attending the graduation for our son, we had 2 teenage boys with us. They enjoyed the breakfast, they even started it early so we could eat before we had to get to the graduation festivities. We stayed at both Best Westerns Atrea and they were both excellent, well worth the price. Great location, 10 minutes away, light traffic

Cleaning staff did not cleanup room one of the 3 days, and disposed of items we where saving. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Room keys subject to be erased if left in wallet. Wake up calls received much earlier than requested.

The staff in the evening are great . the guy that works nights I think his name is Miguel Hernandez he goes out of his way to make your stay pleasant and the elevator broke down twice and he fixed it. My daughter is in a wheelchair and he went out of his way to make sure that it was fixed . he is very good at what he dose friendly and professional great costumer service. I would stay here again. Rooms are great and clean the lady that cleans the 4th floor was great always made sure that the room was clean and always had towels ........

Check in was smooth parking good he rooms were comfortable and clean. The morning buffet was probably normally good but with 5 or 6 youth soccer teams there wasn't much to be had. will stay again if in the area. easy in & out and there is a whataburger across the Highway.

As with our previous stay at this BW, many of the problems were still present. Though the staff was at skeleton size, there were too many problems to be dismissed. Our room was not cleaned on the 24th. (No service posted on XMAS Day) We asked to be moved to another handicapped room and were moved to the second floor. Elevator broke down - fixed by the desk clerk - not a service technician. Other folks we talked to had trouble getting rooms they requested and when they got another room, with their requirements, they were charged an additional $20 per night. The breakfast for the first couple of days was not of good quality (eggs had hard-exposed-to-air too long. Food items not replenished in a timely way. No dishes or OJ dishes). When the regular service person returned on the 26th, breakfast returned to a BW quality.

Very satisfied in our overall experience staying at this hotel It was our first time in San Antonio, the location is a little away from the busy, fast pace area's which gave for a more peaceful rest, but still close enough to interact with our choices of attractions.

This is a jewel of a hotel on the south side of San Antonio. Very quiet and clean and close to 410. The hotel has a nice little breakfast bar. The only downside is that it's not real close to anything in San Antonio, which can be a good or bad thing depending on who you are and there is a lack of restaurants that are close to this location. Neither of which would stop me from staying here again.

We stayed here during a road trip and we liked it very much. It has and indoor pool and hot tub, free wifi, nice hot breakfast buffet and free parking. Its next to a gas station and a couple of fast food restaurants. Staff was very friendly and the room was pretty nice, well decorated, bathroom with no shower courtain but instead a modern half-door glass, cable TV and microwave and fridge. Its a bit far from downtown San Antonio, around 20 minutes to the Alamo. Nice for a brief stay, don't know if I would do it for a longer one.

Perfectly please with this hotel! Only 15 minutes from Lackland AFB, and the River Walk! Easy access to the highway and anywhere we wanted to go! Hotel is away from the hectic area of Hwy 410 which was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable rooms! I booked a queen suite with kitchen. Great rate! All staff was friendly and helpful! We did not actually stay here, but had such a great experience that we have to share our story. We were traveling on a motorcycle that developed a bad tire, and we stopped to get a room for the night so we could get a new tire the next day. The motel was full because of 2 conventions going on that weekend. When we stopped and asked about a room, the receptionist was very apologetic about having none, and called other motels in the area. He had a list and marked them off when they were full. We already had a reservation for the next night in a different motel, a long ways away, and finally got a room there. Our motorcycle was parked in front, and we could not ride it anywhere safely, but Miguel was so helpful. As other came in, he was helpful to them as well, and must have made a hundred calls while we were there. Because we needed to have our motorcycle towed, and were from out of state, we did not know where to bring it, nor where to get help. Miguel offered the use of the business center to use the internet and computer, and graciously allowed us to stay in the lobby while we worked on our predicament. He was so friendly and helpful, and truly went above and beyond that it stayed with us for the rest of our 3-week trip and beyond. The motel itself was immaculate and very well-maintained. The property is very easy to find and easy to get on the highway. There are a few fast-food places within walking distance (sharing the parking lot). There are other restaurants and shopping a few minutes away.

Had reservations for two nights. Upon arrival we were informed that hotel had no water and no idea when it might be restored. We were told that we could go to another hotel and they would cancel reservations. Desk personnel made no effort to help other than that. It was big of them to not charge us for rooms that were unavailable .

My apologies to you.We had issue water not coming into the building.Our plumber could not find anything wrong in the building.We called the city and when they arrived it was 10.00 p.m. They found out the fault in their line and fixed it. The guest was told about the situation and told him that we would cancel his reservation and wouldnot charge him.We offered him to find him another hotel as we did for several of our other guests. We are very sorry to have caused the guest any inconviniences

Not a lot to choose from in this part of San Antonio but this Best Western Plus is a great place to stay if you're in the area. Hotel is clean and Internet works good. My room 415 had a good comfy bed. Breakfast area was clean and had a decent selection of things to eat. Front desk folks weren't real attentive but they got the job done. I will stay here again.

We were in 205 which put us right above the lobby. Part of the 2nd floor is not closed off to the lobby so we unfortunately found out you can hear everything that goes in the lobby. There was a group of people in the lobby area being extremely loud and we could hear them in our room from about 12am to 1am. Where was the night desk person and why didn't he tell them to be quiet???!!! I spoke with morning desk person and she said the night person should've asked them to be quiet. If we stay again we'll ask for a room away from the lobby! The room was somewhat ran except for the inch of dust underneath the bathroom sink. Plus there was weird lemony/urine smell when you walk into the hotel.
