"People Who Don't Care About You"

User 15/01/2023

TERRIBLE! Customer Service... My 20-year old son made a reservation for 1 night at the Hotel Arya in Coconut Grove on the hotel website, and received a reservation confirmation the night before. He arrived to the hotel late at night (early hours of the morning). When trying to check-in, the desk attendant (John) informed him that this property in particular did not accept reservations from anyone 21-years of age or younger, and left him in the street at 1am without a room and without any other place to go. NOWHERE in the Hotel Arya's (Best Western) room offer, during the reservation process, or in the reservation confirmation email sent to my son, did the hotel stated ANY RULES or LIMITATIONS ABOUT the purported 21-years old limit to make a reservation or check in. NOWHERE. Fortunately, i was still in town (traveling from California) and called the hotel. No arguments were enough to convince John to let my son stay for 1 night. I told John that I was going to go to the hotel check in for my son. In the discussion on the phone, John said that sending my son to the hotel with that reservation was my problem, not his. Then at some point of the discussion, for reasons unknown to me, John said that he felt threatened. When I arrived to the property, I started video taping the interaction. John was receptive at the beginning and seemed to be willing to proceed with the check in process, but suddenly he changed his mind and said that he felt threatened and left the front desk, coming out from behind the front desk and walking right beside me. Junior, the (unarmed) security person, was present the whole time. He was courteous and gracious enough to provide further information and talk to us. Junior talked to John via phone and asked him to come out and provide further information, but John refused to come out at all. After the incident I called several times to try talking to the General Manager. I was directed to his Assistant, Isabelle Guerra. After several attempts to contact her, she finally called me and we had a conversation that went nowhere, like when you talk to a person that doesn't really care. Her attitude was basically "No harm, no foul. The reservation was cancelled and your money was refunded, everything is fine, go away". TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THESE PEOPLE JUST DOESN'T CARE.

"wonderful 2 day stay at Arya in Coconut Grove"

Coastal770119, Abbotsford, Canada 28/12/2022

great location, lots of restaurants within walking distance. nice walk in neighborhood and along beach. wonderful deep/wide soaker tub. nice surprise as it is hard to find rooms with bath tubs these days. kitchen facilities (2 burner stove) in our room was also nice. staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help me.

"Closed or Broken Amenities"

2
SeattleReviewer123, Seattle, WA 30/11/2022

Our 7-night stay was disappointing for at least three reasons: 1. During our entire stay, only 2 (and sometimes only 1) of the 4 elevators were working. Because our stay was during the busy Thanksgiving Holiday, the hotel seemed to be fully occupied. The elevators were therefore crowded and waits were long. We often resorted to taking the stairs, even though we were on the 12th floor. 2. We chose this hotel in part of because of the advertised rooftop pool. However, we were informed upon our arrival that the pool would be closed until some time next year. 3. We also chose this hotel in part because of the advertised Panorama restaurant. However, we were informed upon our arrival that the restaurant would be closed until some time next year. Although we were offered “vouchers” (which we had to purchase for $11 each) for breakfast at a neighboring restaurant, neither the food nor the ambience was what we had hoped for. All in all, the experience felt like a bit of a “bait and switch” If half or more of your elevators are broken, or if your pool, restaurant or other major amenities will be closed for the duration of a scheduled stay, please inform your guests of these fact long before they arrive so that they have the opportunity to seek other accommodations. In the alternative, offer your guests a substantial discount to compensate them for the missing amenities.

"Nice spot great location."

Inspire15964005988, Stuart, Florida 29/11/2022

Very trendy upscale spot in the grove for not big money. Walk out to several venues and Never have to get in your car. Seems very secure area and rooms very clean and quiet. Must have a key to operate the elevator to specific areas for which you need access. I like that. I highly recommend this spot of you want to explore the Grove.

"Bad"

2
robertoob2022, Lima, Peru 26/11/2022

Terrible infrastructure, no elevators, no restaurant, false images in their web page, dirty, Rooms need urgent upgrade. Extremely expensive for the quality of the hotel. Being honest, their people at the front desk were very nice and somehow, made it acceptable

"Nice hotel with lots of issues"

3
User 16/11/2022

Nice hotel - perfectly situated and it is a beautiful building. BUT - I've stayed here twice, three months apart & they had elevator issues both times. Takes about 10 minutes to get an elevator. Also had issues in August with shower tub not draining. Called for maintenance twice but it did not resolve. My colleague in another room had mold in shower tub. I know it's Miami, but still! It's gross. Front desk staff at night couldn't care less about being welcoming. Staff during the day are very nice.

"Don't stay here if you expect a Quality Hotel"

1
susiq185, Miami, Florida 14/11/2022

Don't stay here if you expect a Quality Hotel. Mold in bathroom shower and air vent. Bathroom cabinet was damaged and rust on the floor. Only two out of four elevators were operating causing delays for the guests and housekeeping staff. They had been broken for two weeks. The hotel staff were very uncaring as to the broken elevators. There was only one valet for parking and retrieving cars causing a traffic back up in the driveway and extended waiting time by guests. This is not a quality hotel for the price they charge

"Disappointing and frustrating"

2
tarbilly, Nashville, Tennessee 30/10/2022

I'm giving this hotel two stars only because of its location. Easy access to plenty of shops and restaurants. Otherwise, I'd give it one star. We only stayed one night, but we had multiple issues. There are electrical outlets behind the bedside tables. Only one of the plugs worked. My husband uses a CPAP, so he had get behind the bedside table to unplug the light and plug in the CPAP. The toilet handle broke just before we were going to bed, so someone had to come up and fix it. This could have happened at any time at any hotel, but on top of the other issues, it just added to the frustration. The refrigerator has a little freezer compartment that was so built up with ice, that I couldn't close the door. There was a gap of about three inches, so the refrigerator was barely cool. I had bought some creamer for coffee but had no way to keep it cold. When rooms are cleaned, they empty the refrigerator. Cleaning staff couldn't avoid seeing that issue. Ignoring it doesn't say much for how they clean the rest of the room. I can only imagine what else they glossed over. I spoke with manager at checkout. She made some excuse about they had just completed a project where they defrosted the refrigerators or some such thing. That wasn't the right response. She did apologize for our disappointing and frustrating stay. I wouldn't stay here again.

"Event"

User 26/10/2022

Last Saturday our foundation “Oncology Nursing Society” ONS held our yearly tri county event. To say that we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The planning was smooth with Aubrey and Jayme. The team on the day of the event were very nice and attentive. The food was AMAZING. Thank you so much for making our event a success.

"Great location!"

5
User 18/10/2022

Loved the location in Coconut Grove. Hotel was clean. Pool and hot tub were great. Room was comfy with fantastic view of the marina. So much to do in the area. Location was perfect for walks along the waterfront. Would go again!

"Avoid at all cost"

1
User 07/10/2022

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are dirty and in disarray. Locks on the bathroom door are missing. Only one elevator works for the whole building. The restaurant is closed and housekeeping doesn't come to clean/makeup the rooms during your stay. The gym has rusted and old equipment and the computers in the business center don't work. Front desk doesn't answer the phone. There is no positive aspect of this hotel other than its location.

"Hotel Arya, Coconut Grove"

yolandarankine, George Town, Grand Cayman 12/09/2022

Stayed at Hotel Arya, Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida. The hotel is located within a few minutes walk from Bayshore Drive. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant, as well as the valet parking attendant, and house keepers. Overall, we loved it and will definitely be returning.

"Should be shut down. Many things out of order, closed, service not fully provided."

1
grieco613, Tewksbury, Massachusetts 18/08/2022

Was turned away for check-in at 3pm and 4pm… room was not available until 5:15pm. Elevators not working had to share a service elevator for the While hotel…. Average wait time was 10-15 mins (mind you room was on 14th floor. Restaurant not opened and breakfast was to be included. Valet service was sporadic… hotel sent valets home due to not busy. Room not cleaned daily and not notified at check-in. When room was serviced, door was left wide open!

"There's a scam going on at the hotel"

1
User 12/07/2022

Booked a stay via one of the agents that lists on AirBNB for Arya Hotel. They are running a scam of listing the rooms at what they will later state is below market price and demand extra money before they will provide a hotel booking information after your reservation is accepted and paid for via AirBNB. No return call from their rep, asking for personal email, and no return messages via the AirBNB app after their demand for more money. Reported the issue to AirBNB and other agencies.

"rooms need to be renovated"

3
User 27/06/2022

location of hotel is prime! walking distance to all restaurants and shops in downtown coconut grove. However, rooms need to be completely renovated. Old and rusty fridge in kitchenet, toilet seat bowl not properly cleaned, bathtub rusty. Their restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner. Would only recommend this hotel for a super quick trip like a weekend.

"Great venue for a wedding weekend"

5
BAHuston3, Langhorne, Pennsylvania 30/05/2022

Arya was a great hotel for our son's weekend wedding. We had 90 guests. The hotel managed our group well. A lot of the hotel was actually renovated and looked fantastic. The pool area was very nice even though the restaurant was still being renovated. Most of the rooms had amazing views of the bay. The entire staff was professional and very friendly. Edward, the valet, was great to work with as our car was in and out many times. Isabel and Maddie Did an excellent job at the front desk taking care of our many reservations and other needs that the wedding party had. The hotel is in the heart of Coconut Grove. Walking distance to many different restaurants including Monty's on the marina. I highly recommend this hotel. Enjoy.

"Hotel Parking is not Secure"

1
User 24/05/2022

I booked this hotel for myself and about 60 others in 30 rooms for my daughter's wedding....during this time my car was parked in their garage and the catalytic converter was cut off and stolen. Reports were made to police and the hotel manager and hotel security. Police said they had been telling the hotel to install cameras. my room was almost $1000 and the theft cost me about $2000. The manager was supposed to call me the next day....no one bothered to even contact me. Very disappointed !

Best deal! Wonderful smell when you enter the building- the rooms are spacious & clean! The views are fabulous both of the city & the bay… It comes with breakfast which is simple & delicious- the chocolate croissants are the best!!!

"Nice Hotel"

5
shario, San Francisco, California 13/05/2022

I thought the hotel was very nice for the price and we loved the Coconut Grove neighborhood. There are a lot of restaurants, shopping and entertainment within walking distance. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was included and you can sit outside and eat it if you want to. Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar were closed except for breakfast but there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The fitness room was great.

"good location, nice room, mediocre service"

4
M7052RVkathyh, Seattle, Washington 26/04/2022

The hotel isn't as high-quality as the photos on the web site would have you believe, but it's nice. My room was extremely small for a King Room, but it was clean and fairly quiet. I liked the neighborhood -- fun restaurants, a marina nearby. Service in the hotel was minimal and the front desk staff was mostly surly.

"Horrible Arya experience!"

1
User 28/03/2022

Terrible service, dirty room, along with dirty tissue box, clocked sink, no soap in the dispensers in the shower ,flying insects in our room. Horrible breakfast, no hot foods, no restaurant open. Please do not waste your time to stay here, I now know of so many better hotels in this location.

"Restaurant and bar closed for renovations"

3
tsroth3, Canton, Ohio 26/03/2022

I was not aware of the renovations. They did provide a complimentary breakfast buffet that was good and well run. Coffeemakers in room were inadequate and didn't work. Complimentary coffee not available until 7 am

"Good location with mediocre rooms"

3
Moor66, Baltimore, Maryland 09/03/2022

Near reastraunts, water, some shops. Somewhat old hardwares and rooms, slow elevators. Rooms were mostly clean, some hairs here and there. Pool time 10am to 6pm. So you don't get time there after work. Be aware that foods in restaurants are very expensive around there NOW. It has a kitchen set, but cooking utensils are not complete, knifes are dull and useless.

"Birthday getaway"

3
JosephGVestal, Vestal 13/02/2022

Great location with plenty of restaurants close by. Very condescending front staff, they act like they are doing you a favor. This comes from the desk manager on down. They love to talk Spanish about you while you are standing there. Training is needed. If you are a Best Western club member and expect a greeting it is not there.

"Small things matter"

2
Edward L, Yogyakarta Region, Indonesia 10/02/2022

Our 3 night stay was good but that was primarily due to the location. But it could have been so much better with just a bit of effort on the part of the hotel and its staff. For example, the front desk staff doesn't greet you when you enter the lobby. Typically there were 2, 3 or 4 staff behind the counter talking to each other or looking at their phones without looking up as you enter and pass through the lobby. A simple greeting would enhance the guest experience. Secondly, our room was only serviced after repeated requests. Apparently the building is principally a residence rather than a hotel and service reflects that. And thirdly, while the breakfast was fine, "fine" could have become very good with the addition of one or two Miami touches - just some Flordean, Caribbean or Cuban side dishes or condiments - whiuch would have added distinction. All in all, as guests we felt very marginal to the "hotel" mission. Realistically, as just another visiting couple we are not special, but a bit of illusion would have been welcome.

"Bad"

1
User 09/02/2022

Old, out dated, you can hear Elevators constantly and something bit me in bed! Bathroom is moldy and the staff was not friendly at all. I definitely don't recommend. The location was good but that's it.

"Excellent stay"

5
newmanshee, Boston, Massachusetts 01/02/2022

The staffs at the front desk are really nice and helpful. The area is a 3-minute walk to everything with tons of restaurants. The room itself is huge and it is a one-bedroom unit. I would definitely stay there again.

"Worst Hotel EVER !!"

1
799zeinabs, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 28/01/2022

Avoid this hotel!!!! If I can give zero stars for this place I would. The lobby smells like weed and citrus. The elevators are all dirty. The room sheets are so worn out. The hotel staff is very rude. Best part of all is the BES BUGS that they claimed I was lying about and “eveyone says that but it's not true.” We left the hotel at 6am and my daughter had to sleep in her car seat because of how gross the room was. I've been all over the world and stayed in many many hotels. This is the by far the worst place I have ever stayed in.

"Nice Experience"

5
User 19/01/2022

We stayed here for a wedding with a large group of guests over Thanksgiving weekend. We had a great time and the hotel was fine. Some in our party rented rooms through the hotel directly and some did Air bnb, All the rooms were different but all were fine. My only complaint would be I wish the coffee maker was better quality and the elevators are very slow. There was also no bar or refreshments of any kind at the pool area and it was very hot that weekend. The staff was helpful and kind and the lobby was decorated beautifully for the holidays. This was a great place to walk everywhere. I don't understand what all the bad reviews are about but after having seen some of the guests acting miserably with oneanother I can only guess.

"An Updated Review -Just as Happy!!!"

5
OffToHike, Raleigh, North Carolina 13/01/2022

This is my first stay since this property became the Hotel Arya. First of all, I can't begin to explain how accommodating Arya was when I called at the last moment. I traveled on an all night flight from Israel and got delayed. I needed a hotel at the last minute and not only did they book me right away, but they checked if a room was available for me right away and got me in a room at 10 am. They couldn't not have been nicer or more helpful! The room was clean, comfortable and had an amazing view of the water- I was up for every sunrise, and boy, was it worth it! I was given breakfast vouchers for each day, and regrettably did not get a chance to use them because of my plans. But the selection looked great- I hope I get a chance next visit! A very relaxing stay that was made so much better because of the front desk agents!

"December 2021"

1
User 04/01/2022

Hotel was nice . New and updated. Location was great. . The AC was very noisy and woke us up every time it restarted. The Front Desk staff and staff were very rude. They don't clean daily but don't tell you the schedule either. So in case you miss a day you have to live with it for days. They didn't serve breakfast tea for breakfast . Front desk said breakfast is complementary so I should bring my own tea.

"Would not recommend"

1
Michelle B, Toronto, Canada 02/01/2022

Large room, poorly decorated with minimal housekeeping service (replaced towels and made the bed). 1 or 2 of the 4 elevators not working the entire time. No access to laundry facilities. Great location, good fitness room and good breakfast. Would recommend Airbnb or VRBO units only for This property. Internet service inconsistent.

"Family wedding trip"

3
User 07/12/2021

This is a strange hotel. It is a combination hotel, VRBO & AirB&B. The rooms have outdated appliances and the shower is a horrible design. The bed is very mushy and the accessories in the bathroom are rusty. The cleaning was ok but not great. The shower floors are slippery tile and water gets all over the bathroom floor with no way to get it to the drain. The pool closes at 6pm every day and the sign says no alcohol. The elevators are very slow. The breakfast was ok but limited seating areas.

"Pool view instead Bay view "

1
User 09/10/2021

We got a pool view, noisy room instead of a booked Bay view room with two windows and a balcony. Reseptionists refused to change it. They offered to refund money and suggested to look for another hotel. Unbelievable service! Fortunately we will spend only one night with this disgusting view. If you plan longer trip I highly recommend not to stay here. Besides of this they promised to let us know when our room will be ready and didn't do it.

"Disgusting experience!"

2
Maureen F, New Paltz, New York 08/10/2021

I stayed at this hotel via Air BnB. The Air BnB unit was a room in this hotel. I have never had such a horrible experience staying in a hotel! There is no way this is any kind of “luxury “ hotel! Its not even remotely clean. The lobby was nice and aside from the lobby everything is rundown and dingy. My room had a horrible odor! I had to hold my breath to enter the room and then open the sliding door to let air in to air out the room. Unhealthy, unsanitary and disgusting! I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel to anyone! I could not get out of there fast enough!

"Look elsewhere"

1
User 16/09/2021

We booked this hotel for the views and convenience to shops and restaurants. We arrived and the lobby was nice but that's where it ended. The room we were given on the 11th floor was disgusting. Mold and dirt on the ceiling, old broken furniture. When we complained they said they would switch us to a “renovated” room on the 15th floor. Besides some bad purple paint this room was not “renovated” The bed skirts were visibly filthy, the lamps were rusted and there were holes on the baseboards in the bathroom. I was very uncomfortable and we canceled our reservation and left immediately. Very upset and disappointed, as this was a birthday trip for my fiancé. Luckily we only live an hour away and could get home at a reasonable time. If you are looking for a nice hotel where you can relax DO NOT book this place.

"No elevators consistently working"

3
dufresneelizabeth, Miami, Florida 09/07/2021

Only serviced room 3 of 8 days. Wait for elevator was never shorter than 5 minutes and often 10 minutes. Toilet wouldn't flush. I've only on 9th floor. Incredibly inconvenient. After asking for service still didn't get it. L

Dear dufresneelizabeth, Thank you for your feedback. Your review is important to us as it helps us to learn and grow and fine tune our operation. We know how frustrating these inconveniences must have been and we apologize for not meeting your expectations. We have 3 guest elevators and it looks like one of them was down throughout your stay. We did open up the service elevator which definitely shortened wait times. We wish you would have brought to the attention of management the issues with your room so we could have solved it while you were here. In spite of the inconveniences we hope that you enjoyed the beautiful views from your room, the rooftop pool and the penthouse gym. If you find yourself in Miami again we hope that you will give us the opportunity to prove our commitment to service excellence by staying with us. All the best, Tamara

"Good value in Miami!"

The BW Arya offers a clean and comfortable room with wi-fi, full breakfast, valet or adjacent parking, and a great location near downtown Miami. Front desk staff didn't really connect with us but they got the job done both coming and going.

To begin with, the disabled elevator (the ONLY disabled access to the hotel) was inoperative the whole time we were in the hotel. They made me walk through the parking lot ramp to get to the guest elevators. The TV and one lamp did not work. After complaining to the front desk they sent a couple of technicians ? that reseted the TV (nothing with the lamp). Finally, I forgot my Kindle in the hotel chair and I called immediately, at no avail, It was never recovered nor received an apology call.

"Great view but limited room service"

4
User 19/05/2021

I picked this room for the view and we were not disappointed. It was beautiful both day and night. The furnishings are top rate and the free bottle of wine was a nice touch. After that, however, I was a bit disappointed. There weren't any measuring spoons or cups to measure out my coffee for the morning and there were no dish rags or dish towels. Though the dishes available were nice, it's not set up for someone who actually cooks:-). Come prepared! We also realized the limited room service since these rooms are booked by a third company and not the hotel. (It would have also been nice to have more details in printed form in the room upon our arrival - tricky to click through all the links in the emails to learn needed info for the stay.) We were really disappointed that the restaurant was not open due to Covid. Even had we called ahead, things change so quickly, there was no way to plan for that. It would have been nice for this company to offer some consolation prizes given the “full package” was not available. Thankfully, there are a lot of great food places and shopping around the area if you're so inclined.

"Not worth the money"

1
User 17/05/2021

If you have to stay in this hotel go through VRBO! Rooms are small which is ok because you're not in by the room much but when you are it would be nice to be able to sit on a clean chair. We had previous guests toiletries left in the drawers and their long dark hair all over the room. Location was close to water and restaurants.

"Falling apart"

1
michaelaK1130LE, Avon, Connecticut 17/05/2021

Nothing works, everything is broken. The shampoo dispensers were empty, the TV did no work and half of the lights did not work. Asked to have things fixed and were told "sorry, we only clean the rooms every other day (?), didn't you read the sign" Doesn't mean you can't fix things. And why were we not informed of this when we checked in? It used to be such a great place to stay at.

"Beautiful views"

I have to say I was skeptical about this place once I read these reviews and I didn't have my hopes up. But we were pleasantly surprised with our room, 1104-1. Although very small, the room did not disappoint. There were a few minor things but nothing major or even worth warning others to stay elsewhere. The bed was great, pillows great, clean room, beautiful views! Yes, I noticed wear here & there, a stain on the bathroom floor, the bed skirt dingy, the coffee pot didn't work (verified by hotel staff upon checking it out), some wear on the side tables, not many tv channels available, the pool deck smaller than the photos portrayed, but all in all this place was well worth the price we paid. We got a great 'buy one night get the second free' deal. Also, the free breakfast was way better than any Best Western breakfast we've ever had. I definitely recommend this place based on my experience! One side note, as noted in other reviews, the smell of weed IS all over this hotel! In the halls, outside on the balcony! Pretty rotten when you know that it is a smoke free property & cigarette smokers wouldn't be allowed to get away with it. However, I would definitely stay here again!

Best Western has a nice gem of a hotel in Coconut Grove. It is well located, easy to walk to shops, restaurants, parks and the marina. The view of Biscayne Bay from the pool and restaurant is beautiful. The hotel is well appointed, nice lobby, parking on site. My room was very nice, great view from the balcony(this balcony was smaller, big enough for 1). It was quiet at night. Better yet, the rates were better than many others with less to offer. Thank you again Best Western!

"Nice lobby, shabby room"

3
AmyS-CT, New Milford, CT 05/05/2021

We had an ok stay here. Lobby is nice, location very good. The room was showing it's age and needs to be refurbished. Also, cleanliness not great, there was dirt and grime on the floor, bathroom so-so. We checked out at 6 am and for some reason, we surprised the 2 front desk attendants who were watching videos on their phones. It was uncomfortable and strange. I asked to settle our bill with cash and they were baffled, so room had to stay on our credit card. If you can get a deal on the rate it would be worth staying here. Next time we will stay at Mr. C's. We had a drink there and the service, cleanliness, and lobby far surpassed this hotel.

"A miss"

2
User 06/04/2021

The lobby is quite nice. The rooms that have not been renovated are very grubby - stained carpets, dirty balconies, dingy. The renovated rooms still a miss. Loud air conditioner, noisy plumbing, amenities not refilled. Nice location and could be a great, moderate hotel but needs work.

"Disappointing"

1
tnmmillard, Wilmington, North Carolina 17/03/2021

The location and view are nice but that's about it. Our room was dusty and not clean, the baseboards were dirty and cracked. The "free breakfast" was very disappointing. We went to brunch afterward. For $400 per night we do not feel like we got our money's worth. Will stay elsewhere next time.

"Horrible hotel"

nhebdige, Miami, Florida 14/03/2021

Considering that Arya is supposed to be part of Best Western premier properties there's nothing premier about this hotel. It used to be called the Sonesta and it was very nice then but it's gone down hill. Big time. I spent a month here for work and other than the staff being cordial and very nice that's about it. The rooms are grungy and outdated. The clientele is beyond low class and inconsiderate. Mostly people partying loudly until 3-4am without care of how loud they are. If you enjoy the constant smell of weed permeating through the AC vents and stinking up the corridors then this is the place for you. Comcast was here changing over the cable (the internet sucks and there's hardly any signal btw in any room) and while I was gone they came into my room even with a privacy sign on the door and when I got back they had left my door wide open! Who does that? You are charged for parking $30 a day or a flat $200 a month. The hotel has no restaurant and the only thing redeeming about it is the location - if you are lucky and get a room with a view of the bay that is. Seriously the worst experience. Wouldn't recommend it.

I was staying at this Hotel for the first time for 3 nights. Nice and comfortable room on the 19th floor, with a great view. Many nice Restaurants in 5 Minutes walking distance. You never have to wait for an elevator, which is a plus if your room is that high up. Will stay there again for sure on my next trip to Miami.

"Filthy, unhelpful housekeeping and no valet service as advertised. Plus bad jazz music played outside hotel at high volu"

1
156murielf, St. Marys, Georgia 20/02/2021

Full bathroom had something all over the side of the tub. Half bath had something brown smeared on the door. In the evening bad jazz music plays so loudly you couldn't hear TV. There's no valet parking. No information in the room about TV channels, hotel amenities. No WiFi at all. I cleaned and sanitized the room myself. In no way did room meet COVID cleanliness standards. Stay somewhere else if you haven't had vaccine.

"Stay AWAY from this place"

620danayr, Miami, Florida 05/02/2021

I have NEVER seen a Hotel this disgusting before.. the chairs, the towels the counters (see pictures bellow you can see mark of glasses from the previous guest, obviously they DID NOT clean and nevertheless disinterested this room It was just disgusting. You will think due to the pandemic they will be extra careful and clean and disinfect the rooms.... NOOOOOO. Thank Hod it was only one night, I took my own bedsheets, blankets, and small towels from home.. if I get infected I am sure was because of the dirtiest of this Hotel. The breakfast (if you can call that breakfast) they only had a few things, no bagels, no bread, no pancakes, I can go on and on. But I am sure you got my point by now. We were not able to ask for another room because by the time we finish the conference it was almost midnight, but I almost go to sleep in my car. Sorry the only advice I can give you is DO NOT STAY there please. One more thing, they only have one person to Valet Park your car, so good luck with that.

"Not the same as the old Sonesta"

2
akillidar, Miami, Florida 31/01/2021

We stayed at the Arya as we had good experience when it was a Sonesta hotel. Regrettably, the unit we stayed in was old, not clean, damaged doors, with a kitchen that had little utensils for us to use as a kitchen. We booked a King Suite and got a significantly smaller room than what was advertised. To compound, the odor of weed smoking and cigarettes was overwhelming.

Natalie and isabell at the front desk were both very professional, kind, and helpful. They both made our stay here very nice. We rented from SoFLA Vacations and had a delightful experience with Rebecca.

"Awful. Gross. Not Covid compliant."

1
User 27/09/2020

Horrible. The room was old and gross. Surfaces had not been cleaned. I'm so glad I brought Lysol wipes. I used the wipes on surfaces and they removed several stains, indicating the surfaces had not been cleaned well. Noisy building. I was awoken on Sunday morning at 8 am to a loud thomping sound that wouldn't stop until I checked out. The bed was so uncomfortable and the AC would not go down past 71. The rooms do not match the pictures online AT ALL. Oh parking is also $30 per night. Ridiculous. I will never stay here again.

Dear MC08h, Your feedback is very important to us. We make a concerted effort to ensure our rooms and common areas not only meet but exceed our city and state's COVID-19 safety protocols. I wish you would have brought up your concerns to a member of our team while you were here. I am confident that if given the opportunity we would have rectified your concern. I do hope that next time you are in sunny South Florida you will stay with us at Hotel Arya and give us the opportunity to prove our commitment to service excellence. Regards, Tamara

"Old rooms in serious disrepair, noisy and covid dangerous "

1
nelliekellett, Miami, Florida 17/07/2020

We stayed for three nights and the room looked like it was 20 years old and in disrepair with all furniture damaged and poor lighting everywhere. The carpet was frayed with ancient appliances in disrepair. The pool was packed and no one was enforcing covid safety rules. There was no one at the Main elevator bank enforcing mask wearing in the small enclosed elevators. Many guests did not wear masks in elevators and common areas and did not respect social distancing. They say zero tolerance but not even the front desk enforced the mask requirements. The hotel posted a security guard for limited hours at the front entrance but nothing at the back entrance main elevators bank where mask usage failure is most dangerous and prevalent . The room was very noisy and pillows lumpy. Worst of all the room cleaners removed their mask while cleaning our room so we declined any further housekeeping service. If this were not so covid dangerous it might be worth a two star rating..MAYBE.

Tamara Johnson, Other at Hotel Arya, BW Premier Collection, responded to this review
Dear Ms. Kellett, I am disappointed reading this review as it is not a fair representation of Hotel Arya. You are well aware that we are on the tail end of a room renovation. We offered you a renovated room and you declined. You could have stayed in a room with brand new carpet, renovated bathroom, updated kitchen and newly installed light fixtures with brand new artwork. You really did not get the entire Hotel Arya experience because you chose to stay in an unrenovated room. The City of Miami and Miami Dade County have inspected this building no less than 5 times, and each time we have passed with 100% compliance. We have not had one derogatory mark on our evaluations which include the rooms, the pool, the gym, the elevators, and all other common areas including the back of the house. Ms. Kellett, I hope that if you decide to rent a room from the hotel in the future that you will take us up on our offer of a renovated room and take advantage of the true Hotel Arya experience. Regareds, Tamara

"Run do not stay here"

User 17/07/2020

SAY NO TO THE ARYA. Our room was infested with roaches, roaches are found in every corner and in every room and even the cabinets are also filled with roaches. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, we were told by the front desk that our room is disgusting and she hates that for us but there is nothing she can do because our room is not owned by the hotel instead it is privately owned and there is nothing she can do but give us the owners number and of course when we called the owner she said its not her fault it is the Hotels because this is not the first time someone has complained. Horrible experience waste of money....

In town for a wedding over Christmas, pictures looked good but turned out to be unrepresentative. It was the closest thing to a dorm room since I was on campus at Indiana University. Except it was around $250 per night. I mean stark accommodations. I live in a modern house, so I know and admire contemporary minimalism - but there wasn't even a chair in the room. Plus many of your neighbors are residential - this place is a mixed ownership building along the lines of Sonder. No services to speak of - the restaurant and bar are spartan. Something like pre-glasnost Moscow. We found another place up in Coral Gables. There is door person serving most as security - did not help a lady up the steps with luggage. Better to have no door person than one executing sub standard service.

The management of the hotel makes its best to assist all guests in a very efficient way. Have been staying at this exact location for over 10 years, and have never been disappointed...! Look forward to my next stay. In the center of Coconut Grove, surrounded by very nearby great restaurants!

"Unbelievably Bad"

1
hallbower, Dorking, United Kingdom 25/02/2020

Staff require exhaustve training. Best two examples are the cleaner who dropped a cloth of the floor( on the morning of 24 Feb) and cleaned it by shuffling it round with her foot. Also the bar restaurant staff who seemed incapable of doing the most basic taske.......hot tea does need hot water. Our room had a cracked wash basin and broken hand rail by the bath. Overall we thought the staff were badly motivated. The breakfast scrambled eggs were congealed and cold....horrible.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review
Dear hallbower, I am truly shocked by your review. While we are in the process of renovating our long time loyal guests come back again and again for the warm and caring staff. "Great experience"

User 15/02/2020

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Would have loved to stay longer. Room was on the 19th floor with a great view of Coconut Grove. The restaurant had a nice view of the marina and ocean. The rooftop pool looked beautiful, though I did not have time to try it. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if I had the opportunity.

"Not the same Coconut Grove experience"

2
barbarathrone, Tallahassee, Florida 13/02/2020

As a Miami resident for 30 years, this is not a good example of the "new" Coconut Grove. The room was dirty, the bathroom tile floor cracked, and obvious repairs to the walls which did not match the paint. I appreciate the elevator security that you cannot go up floors without a special card, but mine and the lady who was renting there both had problems in the elevator with the card and had to go back to the front desk. The restaurant was outlandishly expensive but the staff in the restaurant and the front desk were delightful. So kudos to them but they need to pay staff more and invest in the infrastructure of the restaurant, and rooms, and no so much on the fake prints in the hallways and lobby.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review
Dear barbarathrone, Thank you for your feedback. While I appreciate hearing what you have to say I can't help but wonder if you actually stayed at Hotel Arya Coconut Grove. We are in the process of updating our rooms but the rooms that aren't renovated yet are still cozy, clean and sport the best views in the Grove. I invite you to visit us once our renovation is complete so you can take advantage of the real Hotel Arya CG Experience. Regards, Tamara

"Very Happy with this hotel despite the bad reviews!"

5
Cottagelace, Naples, Florida 11/02/2020

We stayed two nights and the hotel itself is very clean and very updated Lobby etc. There are 21floors and they have just started renovating the rooms themselves starting on the top floor working their way down. Our room was not renovated yet, but was very clean and had a fabulous view of the city and the bed was very comfortable, great shower and it had a kitchenette and small balcony. The hotel was very reasonably priced by going on the Best Western website. The restaurant is good but small, the pool was amazing and the view is incredible of the boats in the bay and surrounding area. The hotel is in a great part of town with a walk to great restaurants and shops. The town of CG has a hip young people's vibe with a lot of different architecture and culture. The hotel has valet parking for $30 plus per day but you can self park right next door for $12 per day. The staff at the hotel are very kind and attentive. Our TV didn't work the first night so I called the front desk and they sent someone up immediately to fix it. It's very well run. Absolutely would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay her again. The pool was so relaxing and warm we tried to stay an extra night to enjoy the area but the price more than doubled because of a big boat show and Art fair this weekend.

"Wonderful location, but don't book thinking the hotel matches the area"

3
195susanr, Houston, Texas 06/02/2020

The Hotel Arya is in Cocoa Beach admits a wonderful array of restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel itself, however, is really tired. The room furnishings appear to be decades old and the small restaurant, although adequate, is nothing to write home about. Stay here if you get a good deal, but plan on staying out of the room as much as you can.

"Terrible property"

1
SteveinDE, Wilmington, Delaware 29/01/2020

Suites are severely out of date. Dirty and run down. Elevators and other common areas are dirty and old. And one was continuously broken during our stay. AC system was at least a decade old and loud. Thermostat did not work properly. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. No value for the money.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review

"Very mediocre, poor for the cost"

User 25/01/2020

This hotel is own by Best Western, and that's what you are getting here. Don't be fooled by the fancy name and website description - this is an overpriced Best Western. Our room was very tiny and a weird layout - some rooms used to be condos and this was clearly half of a condo. It had a walk-in closet and another empty closet that appears to have housed a washer/dryer at some point. But the actual bedroom part of the room was very small. As an aside, if you are traveling with a small kid I think a pack-n-play would fit in either the closet or the bathroom if you wanted. There were also some problems with the room itself. Ours had no conditioner, the toilet wouldn't consistently flush, and the ironing board was broken. We tried to go up to the breakfast buffet and it looked quite sad. It was your standard hotel breakfast with pre-made food but they charged $15 a person for it. The staff were pleasant, the hotel was clean, it just was probably worth about $125 a night and they charge twice that. Plus a resort fee with no resort amenities (not even bottled water in the rooms or room service).

"Unsafe experience"

1
User 19/01/2020

Our room door was left open for 7 hours by the housekeeping staff. We left our room at 2:45 pm when the housekeeper knocked on our door and returned at 10:30pm after our night out. Our door was left wide open. I called the front desk to see why it happened and they said they would address it in the morning. I had to address it myself the next day because I was not contacted and all they said was it was being addressed with the housekeeper. I would not recommend this hotel because of this safer issue as well as their lack of customer service and understanding when dealing with an issue.

"Convenient close to restaurants "

TheAlkalineYogi, Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic 18/01/2020

I stayed 4 nights in this hotel, it was conveniently close to restaurants in coconut grove and there is also a fresh market on walking distance. The room was clean, but a bit noisy. Service was good, coffee machine didnt work on the first morning and after informing the reception desk, someone came up to fix it that same day. I used the laundry service, hand in in the morning and received back that same night.

"Ok for the area and price was good!"

4
Cypressman, Paris, France 15/01/2020

The hotel is right in Coconut Grove within walking distance of restaurants and bakeries. It is a property with owners and part Best Western. If you rent from an owner, parking may be included, if not, it is >$30. However, right next to it divided by a fence is a $12 night public parking - perfect and no unnecessary walking to get to the hotel, you would swear it is connected. Just be sure it is the parking to the left as you face the hotel and not the underground to your right which is double that. Service did not WOW me, but it was not terrible. Breakfast is not included because it is not your standard BW. Room was big, clean with great AC. Pool area is nice, however people eat out on the bistro seating because pool is just outside of the restaurant. Some people will stare at you as you try to enjoy the pool or spa, this is a bit bothersome so just be aware. The pool area was nice view of the water and tranquil to just sit out there and enjoy.

"Okay but needs some attention to details"

303daver, Santa Fe, New Mexico 13/01/2020

We stayed two nights for a friend's wedding and though the location was good, it wasn't particularly inexpensive and our room was quite basic with a handful of maintenance issues: missing sink faucet aerator (water everywhere), loose tub grab bar, very noisy exhaust fan (painful), the closet bifold door came off into my arms (with no abuse), and the balcony door latch was broken and wouldn't latch. In a cheap hotel, maybe, but at a full nightly rate plus the irritating “resort fee” trick, I would say they need much more focus on the product supplied.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review

"Weird Place"

Aellis837, Chattanooga, Tennessee 06/01/2020

I booked a room here through Airbnb and was confused when I arrived and it was a hotel, as I was expecting a condo building. The lobby/common area/free parking/staff/location were all nice. Elevators extremely slow - only 2 for 21 floors. Room was basically clean I guess but somewhat tired. Carpet in particular has seen better days. The balcony furniture was so faded it wasn't particularly pleasant to sit out on. The room was probably really nice five years ago but now things need to be replaced. I would recommend this place if you can get a decent rate (I think we paid around $375 total for 2 nights through Airbnb) and aren't traveling for a special occasion. It got the job done but wasn't anything to write home about. We got lunch one day at the Peacock Cafe next door and it was wonderful.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review
Dear Aellis837, We are a condo hotel, and you left a review for the hotel instead of the condo. Since you stayed in one of the private condos you should probably leave the review on air bnb instead. Where to start. We booked for 7 days for a wedding. We asked for a kitchen got a kitchenette. The room smelled musty, the drawers smelled awful, no table to use, dorm room fridge, filthy rug. I called for a small table, no return call, no table. The website says in room dining. We get there Christmas eve thinking we will get room service. Front desk said no room service, slow time of year, ok. Miami in December is not slow, and no idea what time restaurant will open on Christmas day if at all. Apparently they are updating the rooms we just didn't get one. The room we had SHOULD NOT be used. Never again. They should pay us to stay there.

"Horrible Customer Service"

User 29/12/2019

Don't book this hotel!!! I booked this hotel and only two hours later tried to change the date by a day earlier, because I couldn't be in Miami on that date. They wouldn't let me change my date and charged me the entire $454 fee for a room that I wouldn't ever use and they had plenty of time to resell it. They will not refund your money if you cancel! Worst customer service I've ever heard of and a horrible place to do business with. i guess they must be really hurting for business if they have to take people's money who don't even stay there in order to make ends meet.

Blown away by how FANTASTIC this hotel was!!!!!!!!!!!! Landed in Miami late and headed to the hotel we had originally booked (which was terrible) Did a quick search and came up with the Hotel Arya and when we arrived there it was the absolute best thing ever The staff is very cool - the rooms & suites are very spacious & very open. The furnishings are comfortable and the suites have complete kitchens. Location is ideal right across from Peacock Park within walking distance from wonderful restaurants, the Marina & CocoWalk. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will be making this one a regular each time we head to Fllorida.

Although this hotel has amazing views of Biscayne Bay, it is in serious need of upgrades and attention. Our balcony was dirty as was the carpeting. If Best Western puts some elbow grease and paint into the hotel, it will go a long way toward being a premium hotel.

We secured a nice room here via ARNB and would do it again at this venue. We liked the central location to take in just about anything in Miami and Coconut Grove. The hotel staff quite nice and the parking not a problem once in the hotel. One can walk to many of the local shops and retail establishments and not to overlook the restaurants and eateries scattered around.

The hotel is extremely well located in Coconut Grove, a truly cosmopolitan area in Miami. Many rooms with magnificent views of Biscayne Bay and the Ocean. Rooms, baths and furniture needs updating, but are always clean. The staff is always professional and willing to go the extra mile to improve a guest's experience. Locate by the Bay but only one city block walk to shops and restaurants. A fun place to stay.

This hotel is very well placed in Coconut Grove, Miami. I stayed for two nights, the bedroom was big enough with a comfortable bed. However there was an unpleasent smell, perhaps because of moisture in Miami. Amenities were not extraordinary, I found price was a little high for what customers receive. Efficient service. The best of this hotel, its ubication.

I checked in to the hotel Approximately 8:45pm and went to room 2115 on 21st floor at 8:55pm and then they gave me a room on the 20th floor. The Bellman/valet came to take me to room 2004-1 at 9:08pm. As soon as I walked into the one door I could smell fresh paint. We discussed it. I walked in and immediately saw the hole in the wall with tissue shoved in it to hide it. I have it all on video. The room was cold. I called and had a maintenance man come up and all he did was change the little wall covering and I asked him if that was going to fix it and he said yes. I asked him if I could have a space heater to warm up the room because it would probably be a while and I was freezing. He acted like he didn't understand and said this will fix it and left. He came back and so called fix it. I called for my car to be pulled around so I can get my jacket. I actually told them that. I got my jacket and then stopped by the front desk and was talking. They didn't show much concern, they just acted dumbfounded. I went up to my room and as soon as I walked in it felt like winter. It was actually colder. I called the front desk and complained. I then decided to try to mess with the heater myself and found out that he put it on cold and turned it down to 60°. I turned it off waited 10 seconds and put it on heat and put it up to 80. I called the front desk to let them know what had happened. They said oh. I decided to go take a bath to try to warm up but found out the water never got past lukewarm so I could not bathe since the room never got above 64°. I was irritated. I decided to do what I always do and take pictures and video and I found a lot of mistakes in the room. The broken cabinets and drawers. The red blood looking stains on the cabinet. Just a lot of negative things. I decided to go to bed. I got up about 2 AM freezing so I called the front desk and a very nice young man told me that he would let management know and that they would call me by 9 AM when they came in. I called after 9 AM and I was spoken rudely to by the front desk girl who never gave me her name. I have a video of her as well but did not see her name. She rudely told me ok and that was it. Later I called down and they told me that I lied that I never contacted them about anything there was no issues mentioned ever or anything.

Great location in Coconut Grove. Very nice city view with quality finishes. Very close to restaurants and shops. Excellent place for walking along the waterfront. We would definitely stay there again when returning to the Miami area.

"Really enjoyed my stay, and at a very good price"

Great location - By the ocean and in the Coconut Grove area, with plenty of good restaurants within walking distance (Try LoKal for a great burger!). My room was more like an apartment, with a kitchen and lots of space. The pool area was wonderful, with a fantastic view over the Biscayne Bay. Shout out to the pool attendant, who made me comfortable and served me lunches with a smile and a chat! The buffet breakfasts were good, although at an extra costs of about £13, and on the same 8th floor as the pool, with excellent views over the bay. I was at the end of my US stay, and car less, so perfect for me - lounging by the pool and walking to restaurants in the evenings. Getting into the centre of Miami was not easy, and I only managed it once, via taxi. 4 nights for $492 (£384) - excellent value. Would definitely stay again, in the same circumstances.

Let me start off by saying I normally do not post a negative review. I try to handle complaints etc with the hotel itself but this could not be accomplished. While the lobby and hallways look nice and new the rooms are horrendous. Ours was extremely outdated and had a musty smell that would not go away. The worst part was the air conditioner. The noise it made was something out of Jurassic Park. When I brought it up to the front desk they said an engineer would come up. When he did he did not speak English and from what I understood was that there was only little he could do since it was old. After already losing a full nights sleep from the sound II was concerned. I returned later in the day And heard the noise from the hallway. I immediately went to the front desk and was told “ I understand, can I offer you complimentary headphones”. ? Really. That's what they do. They should never be renting out a room in this condition but yet they did. On top of that three out of the four elevators were not working for the entire day. A complete disaster. Try having to walk 17 floors. I have stayed at several other hotels in the area and they blow this away. Very unfortunate that management was unable to handle these situations.

Traveling to Coconut Grove every week for business and the location of this hotel is perfect, pricing is good but everything else is middle of the road. I've stayed here 5 different times, each time for multiple days and always in a different room. Until late 2018 this was the Royal Sonesta hotel until Best Western bought it as an addition to their upscale 'Plus' collection but still operates like clunky old BW that I remember from the 80's. In addition the Arya is a mixed private/public property with resident owners and hotel guests often sharing the same floor which is strange. Also there is ongoing remodeling in the hotel so noise can be an issue during the day but evenings and overnights have always been quiet for me. Start with positives: -beds, pillows and bedding are all very comfortable and I've slept great every night (which is a big reason I keep coming back) -AC units work great and you can dial the temps down lower than in most hotels (love that) -location, location, location walkability to everything in Coconut Grove -Staff trends very young and low on professionalism scale, but Im seeing that everywhere in Miami, but they are always pleasant and helpful when asked -Views are fantastic especially from upper floors -Pool 8th floor and gym penthouse level are both very nice Negatives: -Restaurant doesn't open till 7AM which is def late for a US hotel but this hotel has a European vibe so that may be why. In addition, the breakfast buffet, only option, is a 2 out 5 stars and priced at $15 plus tax and mandatory 18% gratuity for a no service buffet. Food quality is poor and I do not recommend unless you want convenience over experience. -Prepaid, discounted breakfast is an option when booking your room, $10 instead of $15, but there is no system in place to make this happen. Restaurant says you need a voucher from front desk but front desk says you don't, so restaurant lets you sign to the room for total cost of $20 and then you have to review with front desk on check out that they booked it at $10/day instead of $20/day- again ridiculous system so skip the breakfast option. -Rooms are dated and being slowly updated Ive been told but not sure if they will stay as hotel rooms or be sold as private units. Dirty carpet, torn shower curtains, dirty balconies, and just tired overall. Except the beds which are fantastic. And its random so some better/worse than others. One room had old TV the only got a few channels and another room had new model that worked great. -Sensitive room access cards- almost daily I have to swing by front desk to get the cards reactivated despite being mindful of keeping away from my phone. I think even my rental car key fobs will deactivate it. -Arrival- poorly designed arrival circle, only enough space for 1 car to pass so always a backup during busy periods and numerous steep steps to get to hotel level. Bell/Valet are however available to help you Other notes: -Lavazza espresso machines in rooms which make good coffee in small quantities. If you want big coffee before 7AM there is a Starbucks 1 block away -Room size varies- the standard and cheapest room is pretty tiny but has a big bathroom and often doesn't have a balcony. Next size up is best value in my opinion and comes with a full kitchen which is great if spending a few days. -Parking in the garage is $30/night but the city lot next door is only $12 for 24 hours from the kiosk

"Worst stay ever!!!"

User 18/10/2019

We were visiting our son at the University of Miami and booked and paid for a one bedroom with a sofa bed. We were given a one bedroom with NO sofa bed- just a tiny 4 dirty stained couch. The carpet was absolutely disgusting, filthy and completely stained. The toilet was covered in urine stains. The room had clearly not been cleaned in ages. The furniture was old, broken and worn. My son was planning on staying with us for a few nights and was not able to since we had no sofa bed even though we paid for one. We complained To the management twice and were Told there was nothing they could do as the hotel was fully booked and that if a rom became available they would call us. No one called us and our son could not stay with us and our weekend was ruined. This was the worst experience ever and the worst customer service we have ever experienced!! Do not stay at this hotel!!!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights for our first anniversary. The front desk staff was not very helpful at check-in but thankfully we didn't have any other problems so never needed their help during our stay. The room looked recently renovated with new tile floor. The bed was very, very comfortable. We declined housekeeping services while there but the room was very clean upon arrival. The view was gorgeous- we had a bay view with a balcony. The room came with a kitchen, which I did enjoy, but there was an oven with no baking sheets provided. There also was a dishwasher with no detergent for it, and no kitchen towels or pot holders were in our room. These things wouldn't make us not chose the hotel again but if you plan on using the kitchen, just know there isn't much provided for cooking utensils. We chose to valet which was $36 a night but was less expensive than the parking garage nearby. There is not any free parking in the area.

"Don't stay here"

User 16/10/2019

The rooms are outdated, I switched my room 3 times thinking I would get value for what I paid, but still got a room with an outdateddddd kitchenette. Breakfast isn't free and cost a quite ridiculous amount per day of your stay, 10$ if added online, 15$ per day if purchased at the hotel. Some staff were very pleasant. I got a bit of a condescending attitude when I was checking out from Eduardo when I misunderstood about my charges, but was settled politely with Mari. I was also charged for one day Of overnight parking when I don't even have a car let alone a license, the charge was taken off but I was still baffled by how it got there in the first place. Upon arriving after a while I noticed the floors were a bit dusty in the bathroom. Had to clean the tub myself as I saw a bit of nasty in there. The lobby was nice and the pool seemed nice, didn't get to enjoy it. Furniture needs to be updated, had wear and tear and scratches, missing paint. TV was wonderful, used that while I was there. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel and wouldn't return. If you're in Miami for south beach or the downtown area, while the highway is right there, it's farrrrr from those places. I Uber everywhere and it took from 20-40 minutes just to reach anywhere. They also charge Miami-Dade tourist tax which I deem unnecessary because they don't even give any services of the sort. I stayed at other best western hotels before and this I just say was my most unsatisfying stay.

"Miserable Experience on September 21, 2019"

Traveler33706, St. Pete Beach, Florida 23/09/2019

You might as well call Hotel Arya the Spirit Airlines of hotels. You want parking, pay extra, you want air conditioning, sorry no frills here, you want a working shower and a tub that drains, you better beg. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Absolutely miserable. The staff was rude and unaccommodating despite the issues with the rooms. I do not recommend anyone staying here. It appears that the owner of the property is most interested in the revenue streams created by the many floors of parking below the hotel. I would have given this hotel zero stars if possible.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review
Dear Traveler33706, Where do I begin? Hotel Arya is more than just your average vacation it's a complete experience. I am concerned about your opinion of the hotel because we work hard to keep our rooms up to date and in good working order so I would like to hear more about your experience. I will send you a private message so that you have my contact details. Why didn't you bring your concerns to us directly before you checked out? We pride ourselves on not only meeting but exceeding your expectations. We can't do that if you don't let us know. Like every hotel in Miami we do charge a fee for valet parking. That fee is a great deal compared to your other options in the area. We recently renovated our HVAC system making the air condition work better than ever. Our engineers do regular preventative maintenance on the rooms and we have staff on call to take care of situations like clogged drains. When all is said and done we want our guests to be happy, relaxed and creating memories that will last a lifetime. I do hope that you will respond to my private message so that we can sort this out. "Nice Hotel but maid service not so good."

Floridean63, Orlando, Florida 17/09/2019

Nice hotel with a nice pool area, rooms are OK, we got upgraded to a "suite" and is was spacious, but lack of clean carpets and the bed was way too firm for my taste. Upon the day to check out, maid service start to knock at the door at 8:00am to see if we are going to check out, way too early to do so, also she remove our stuff from the room before we had time to return to the room to get it. After I confronted her, she was rude and denied she was in the room, I found our beach ware in her cleaning cart. Bad experience with her, might try this place again, but will ask to stay in a floor with a nicer more experienced maid.

"Nice hotel for a quick getaway"

Floridean63, Orlando, Florida 16/09/2019

Hotel Arya is a nice hotel in the Coconut Grove area of Miami, check in was quick but they did not had the room that I had reserved, they upgrade me to a suite, but with no view. Is centrally located and the attendant from the front desk are nice and pleasant, I cannot say that about the maid service, they do need better training in regard of how to interact with guess, they presented there self pushy and rude, not to mention that went into our room and removed my belonging without me being checked out. Might give them a second try next time I'm in the area, but will make sure the I request to stay in a floor with an experience maid.

The hotel itself is big and beautiful the staff are very helpful when we arrived and checked in was fine. The hotel room is average but there is a huge comfortable bed which is so nice! The pillows are very soft not to my liking but that's not a big issue. There is a coffee machine and plenty of coffee tea been left. The bathroom is ok the shower is quite powerful but it's head is stuck to the wall however there are lots of dials on the shower head itself. And the ac works it's so lovely and cold in the room it's perfect.

Due to Hurricane Dorian we were forced to cancel our reservation with this hotel. Nevertheless, this hotel chose to penalize us with a large cancellation fee. My county, was under a hurricane watch and I have a special needs child so there's no way I was going to this hotel when we were under a state of emergency. This hotel is run by greedy, selfish people. Please do not stay here! I am reporting them to the Florida Attorney General.

Rooms are a bit worn, the area could be better given that you are in Miami. I stayed due to work, but definitely worth looking into other hotels. In spite of all of this, the stay was calm and rooms spacious, although a bit noisy from adjacent rooms. It is more of a expo/summit/work hotel rather than something to vacation on.

Got a great deal on a room and they upgraded us to have a room with a balcony and a room facing the water (instead of no balcony and facing the city). Terrific view of water and marina. Room was nice. They have stairs in front to get bags up- they do have staff to assist. No ramps- if stairs are an issue. Parking at hotel is valet only but a public lot next door was 1/3 of the cost. Valet staff - knew the area and had excellent recommendations for restaurants. All the staff were excellent. Pool (we didn't use) had an awesome view. They added tip to our bill in the hotel restaurant at breakfast- a practice we don't like. Excellent value for what we paid.

"BEWARE OF FRONT DESK AGENTS!"

2
User 16/07/2019

I was very excited for this hotel. For the price I was paying, I thought everything would run smooth! But Ms. Ashley, the front desk supervisor was VERY rude to my guests and I. I had stated to front desk our first night that our outlets were not working properly or at all in our room. We politely called front desk and they sent up engineering. When engineering arrived, they spent about an hour trying to fix our outlets, making us MISS our dinner reservations. After an hour passed, they stated there was nothing they could do that night and would possibly have to rewire the whole room. They then told us to head down to front desk to see what was possible. When we arrived to front desk, we politely stated our issue and were quickly turned away by Ashley, the front desk supervisor. She suggested we go to the TOP floor and use the bathrooms.. gross.... she continuously shrugged her shoulders and told us “I don't know what to tell you guys.” By then, we were very agitated because she was not offering to move us to a different room! We had many plans that weekend and the outlets were vital to our trip. We then asked for another room and she continuously shouted that there were none available, from the BACK of front desk. We then stated that we missed our dinner reservations and her exact words and I quote were “well good thing this is Miami, there are plenty of things to do.” We asked what would happen if they were not fixed and she did not have a clue what to say! She was going back and fourth with us without offering solutions. We were very angry guests for the rest of the night, having missed our dinner reservations. It is a good thing she was not there for the rest of our stay! But, the bellmen and valet were very nice people, at least. In conclusion, I will not be staying here again due to the lack of empathy from Hotel Aria's front desk staff. Guests come first in a hotel and should NOT be shouted at when there is a problem. The rates were high that weekend because of the event in Miami, making us spend A LOT of money on the hotel. So Ashley, thank you for ruining a great stay in Miami.

I only wish the parking next door were free. A little confusing that this hotel is supposed to be a Best Western... no signage to that effect.

"Excellent Hotel! Amazing Staff!"

AJKMissionViejo_CA, Mission Viejo, CA 25/06/2019

Centrally located in a charming marina district and walking's distance from numerous restaurants, shops, and entertainment, Hotel Aria exceeded all expectations. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating. A special thank you to Isabel Guerra, Ashley Roblejo, and Natalie Brizuela for their outstanding customer service. You definitely left me with a lasting impression and secured my future reservations in Miami.

"Hotel Not Sure What it wants to be?"

Chris M, Naperville, Illinois 23/06/2019

We booked this hotel when it originally a Sonesta. It is a hotel and condo/apartment building. The sign out front says "Aria", but signs in the elevator say "Arya". It is very difficult to see from the road. Uber, Lyft and limo driver needed my assistance to locate the driveway. Lobby was very nice and smelled great. However, the front desk was a bit messy and not really matching the lobby. The rooms were average at best. Not that clean and the bathroom and amenities were really lacking. We were there only two nights before a cruise. It was fine for that. There was limited storage, TV was not new, and the overall impression of the room was mixed. Very odd mix of art on the walls. Housekeeping seemed a bit short when asking for towels or other requests. Only food after hours was a "snack" rack in the lobby that had really expensive and small bags of chips. Just should put it in a mini-bar if it that expensive and small. Pool was very nice and staff was really great. Helping get chairs and towels. Not the greatest location in Miami. Nothing really in walking distance except the nice harbor and a park. Will not be returning.

Dear Chris M, Thank you being our guest. We are in the process of transitioning our name to Hotel Arya. It's new, its's fresh and it's very Miami. We are also preparing for renovating our rooms. At the end of our transition Hotel Arya will be the best spot in the Grove. We think you might have missed all of the restaurants and shops that are walking distance from the hotel. Starbucks, the Gap, Cinepolis, Oasis Lounge, Bellini restaurant, Juicense, Tigertail and Mary and Morning Glory to name a few. We truly are centrally located with dare I say it... the best view in the Grove. We do hope that after our renovation is complete you will give us the opportunity to not only meet but exceed your expectations. Regards, Tamara - manager

A fine and average place according to me to take shelter for a trip. Although not much impressive according to their price but its not that much bad. There are sea facing rooms available from which a lil bit view seen

I never heard of this hotel until one week before booking. I was just trying to get away with my wife. I was surprised at how well the hotel looked from the beginning when I saw it. The inside is great, and the Rooms are very nice. Beds are very comfortable, along with pillows. I had a room with a balcony which was great to walk out on, and look at the Miami Scenery. I Highly Recommend this Hotel!

User 01/06/2019

We stayed at the hotel because the location worked for us and the rate was unbelievable. Our room was very clean, well appointed and the bed and pillows were the most comfortable of any hotel we can remember in recent years. A great staff and a 8th floor open pool with a breathtaking view of the park and marina. Nestled in The Grove across from Peacock Park, this hotel is a 10!

We have been staying at this hotel for years (when it was called the Sonesta) because we love the location, the view from the balcony and the staff is great. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance and even more a short Uber away. Shopping isn't far away at all either with a great assortment of stores to choose from

"Room I reserved over a month ago wasn't available when I showed up"

1
User 28/05/2019

I paid for a room with two queen beds and when I arrived they said they didn't have that room available. The lady at the front desk said my view would make up for it. My view turned out to be a busy, noisy street They put me in a room with a bed and pull out couch which my mom had to sleep on. I was part of a bridal party that was staying there with the Bride. There was a dead cockroach in our room upon arrival. No trash can, just a trash bin lid sitting on the ground. Stains all over the carpet. In the Brides room, the trash had never been taken out and the couch cushions did not properly fit the couch because they were totally different cushions. The front desk attendant who explained that they didn't have the hotel I had paid extra for. I don't understand how this is possible. I paid for a room with two beds and you do not have it? I was part of a bridal party that had to get ready for a wedding and they knew this because we were under the block they had reserved for us. Ashley tried to “accommodate” us by saying we could check our late and we would have a nice view. I had to check out by 11:30 am anyway so that wasn't helpful and the view was of a busy street.

I visited this hotel last week with my son. It's a beautiful property in a great location. The view of the bay and parks were delightful! So serene and peaceful. The pool was awesome! The gentlemen who handed out towels were very kind. Hotel is within walking distance of many stores and restaurants. Great walking trails in parks and marina. The free trolley was a good addition. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant offered delicious options (a tad pricey). Just a couple things: There was an espresso machine in room, I would've preferred a coffee maker. When my charger didn't work, I asked front desk staff to borrow one and girl informed me that they sold them. Yikes. This was a great property and I'd stay there again.

I don't normally write reviews but I felt compelled to share my experience with everyone who is looking for insight on hotel Aria. From the moment I arrived late Sunday night, I was warmly greeted by Eduardo. He welcomed me as though I was a resident and ensured I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay here with them as I had checked in for 1 month. The next day I was greeted by the rest of the front staff who went over and beyond for myself as well as my little dog. I've never felt more welcomed and cared for as I did at the Aria. The room was perfect, clean, great size and an amazing balcony with an even better view of the Grove. The pool was relaxing and Miguel and Leo always made sure I had a chair with shade and fresh towels. They also offer full drink and food service at the pool along with complementary water. The restaurant is incredible! The food was always prepared to my liking and the staff was extremely helpful when I needed a few items for my dog. Lastly, the location is perfect! You are within walking distance to everything! From other bars/restaurants, banks, Starbucks and other amazing coffee shops, clothing stores, Peacock park, CVS, movie theatre etc.. you really don't need a car to get around and an Uber ride is only 15-20 min from Miami airport and 20-30 min to South Beach. What I love about Coconut Grove compared to South Beach is that you're still close if you want the action and nightlife, but if you want to relax, have amazing food and not be surrounded by the hustle and bustle, then Coconut Grove is the place for you! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

".Credit card information stolen"

1
Douglas G, Orlando, Florida 17/04/2019

While the hotel is nice, I stayed at this hotel in March 2019. When I checked in, I used my American Express card as payment. Less than 4 hours later, my credit card information was being used to purchase items on line by someone who had stolen my information. Fortunately, Amex stopped the activity. However, my card had to be cancelled. When I advised the manager of this the next morning, she really did not seem very concerned and said that there was no way the staff could have access to the number since the computer encoded it. i pointed out that i had to hand my card to the staff so they did have access to it. in any event, since my Amex had been cancelled, i had to use a Master Card that i rarely ever use and paying Hotel Arya was the last time that i used it. Today, i have been alerted that this card number has been used to purchase items by someone who has again stolen my information. I do not know if someone at the hotel gained access to my information or if the hotels computer information was hacked, but I will be hesitant to go back there. if you go, be careful to watch for credit card information theft.

Louise B, Eugene, Oregon, United States 11/04/2019

The Hotel Arya (also spelled Aria?) provided a room, at $141 per night (plus taxes), on the top floor (21, penthouse above), with a balcony, and with a full kitchen! Really! EVERY request we made, they bent over backwards to fulfill. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Great neighborhood, too. Park across McFarlane is exceptional. We stayed here on business, and then for pleasure.

"3-star condo in the guise of a 4-star hotel"

3
mki112255, Los Angeles, California 03/04/2019

All the hotel rooms are actually privately owned. The owners have the option to rent through hotel management or they can go their own route with Airbnb, etc. This is to say that even booking through the hotel means every room will be decorated, designed, and cared for differently. I guess we got the uncared-for hotel unit? It was fine, but it was not worth the price we paid - over $800 for 3 nights. Really way overpriced. Pros: good walking to Coconut Grove shops, parks, and restaurants. Patio with small balcony. Excellent 8th floor pool/bar/patio with delicious afternoon winds. Cons: Front desk staff were distanced and impolite. Valet was $35/day and there were no other parking options. Elevators were all broken at some point during our stay and we actually rode with a bride going to her wedding (all dressed up and nervous) in dirty service elevator. Hallway doors like like prison cell doors. The thing is that I would go back just for the 8th floor patio/bar/pool, but the cost of staying in the basic room with all the other inconveniences just wasn't worth the price.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Arya, responded to this review
Dear mki112255, Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to provide us with this priceless feedback. While we appreciate your feedback some of your observations are not correct. Every unit in the hotel is decorated the same. Same furniture, same fixtures, and same equipment. The only item that really varies is the artwork. The going rate for valet parking in Miami is $42 per night. Our $35 per day valet parking is the best deal you will find in Miami. We have had issues with our elevator, but I am happy to report that all of our elevators are up and running smoothly. I am also very excited to share that our rooms are receiving a much anticipated renovation in the near future. I hope that you will visit us after our renovation to experience the new and improved Hotel Aria. Regards, Tamara J - manager

This hotel is located just near the seaside in coconut grove. We can jog along the sea every morning, with beautiful green parks. Hotel staffs are really kind and friendly, helping us to enjoy holidays in Miami. There are some points to take the trolleys for metrorail station of coconut grove or brickell, not so far from downtown by car, especially Ultra Miami place this year; virginia key. I recommend to stay here to relax yourself a little away from complicated city places.

I stayed at Hotel Arya for just one night before my cruise. When I went to check in they upgraded me to a balcony room. The room is kind of narrow but super nice! "Location is its best asset"

3
tropicalia, Sanibel Island, Florida 24/03/2019

The hotel Aria has a fantastic location. Half a block from the bay and half a block from the shops and restaurants in Coconut Grove. Others have already mentioned the six steps to enter the hotel. The poor bellboys or guests that have to schlep bags up those stairs! The lobby and common areas are sleek and modern, but the rooms don't match them. I read that they plan to redo them. The pool ara has a beautiful view. Valet service was always prompt. ARIA has a BIG elevator problem. Number three (out of three) seems to be permanently out although front desk denies it. We rode the service elevator more than once. Usually quite a wait. This morning we were squashed in, the elevator stopped at every floor and guests were waiting–and left behind, as they couldn't get on. Also the stainless steel siding in them is always dirty, full of smudges. Room service minimum $25.00??? Forget about having just a club sandwich and the prices are steep. No continental breakfast available. Starbucks half a block away though. I found out the Aria is a condominium and owners rent out the rooms. Some have kitchens. Ours didn't and was smallish but large bathroom. So it's not quite a hotel nor quite a condo.

Our elevator number three is down. We expect it to be up and running again in the next two weeks. We will continue to leave our service elevator open for use until we have our 3 guest elevators up and running again. You are correct about our room renovation. June 1st we start the room renovation and we are so excited to update our rooms and give them the same modern feel that our lobby has. Again thank you for your feedback and we hope that you visit us after the renovation to experience the refreshed Hotel Arya! Regards, Tamara J - manager

BigSkyTripper, Montana 14/03/2019

We stayed there for over a week on a recent vacation and we were totally over it by the time we left. The pool was like a dirty warm bath... only one time did I see it clean over a 9-10 day stay. The elevators were often out of service. The wifi went down and as of the day we left was still down on day 4. Access in and out of the hotel was often a traffic jam. It was very noisy outside... the noise from the traffic and the daily gardeners in the parks wafted up to the high rise rooms making the balcony undesirable after awhile. Fortunately the sliding doors are very heavy and keep the noise out of the rooms when closed. On the upside the view is great. The water pressure is outstanding. The free parking is fantastic as parking is very limited in the area. The staff was kind and attentive. Easy stroll to many restaurants.

FellowTraveler814536, Manager at Hotel Aria, responded to this review
DearBigSkyTripper, Based on your review I can see that you stayed in one of our private units and not with the hotel. Nevertheless, your feedback is still very important to us because it gives us the opportunity to take a look at our operation and identify areas for improvement. Our pool is a heated a pool which is cleaned 4 times per week. Typically in the early morning hours before the sun rises. This ensures guests aren't disturbed. So, if you stayed 10 nights then the pool was cleaned 8 of those nights. One of our elevators is down, but we have opened up our service elevator to ease the traffic. Since you were staying in a private unit you should have reported the internet issue to the owner of the unit and they would have taken care of it for you. All in all, I'm glad that you enjoyed the view and other great amenities of our building. Best, Tamara J. - manager

arabellap_12, New York City, New York 12/03/2019

I don't know what to make of this hotel. The lobby feels like a boutique hotel, and the staff at the front desk were great. The pool area is beautiful, with very friendly towel service and infused water. The food in the restaurant is expensive (and average in terms of quality) Everything else feels like a budget hotel! - The rooms feel outdated and basic. No full-length mirror, which is pretty unbelievable, plus the lighting in the bathroom was horrible so good luck putting on makeup. - For ice, you have to go to the single ice machine on another floor - Very limited room service menu - As others have mentioned, multiple steps up to front entry of hotel, and no-one to help with bags Also some service issues: - bedside alarm went off at 5 am my first night. Maid clearly had not been instructed to check for this. - I ordered room service for breakfast using the door hanger. I got a call that morning asking to confirm something about my order, which was fair enough, but the woman's tone was really aggressive. She then delivered breakfast, but missed something from my order, which she then argued I hadn't put on my form. (I know I had). She also missed something I'd specifically asked about when we spoke on the phone that morning. Throughout her tone was very unpleasant. Finally, as a tea drinker, I felt very discriminated against! - no teabags in the rooms - no option to select tea with breakfast on the room service door hanger - I asked for English Breakfast tea with breakfast, and got told "we only have black or green". (As it turned out, the black was English Breakfast, but again not the response I would have expected from a hotel that makes a big fuss about its restaurant) The whole experience was very confusing.

"Unaccomodating, Befitting of Best Western MOTEL Stereotypes"

1
User 13/02/2019

This hotel is the most unaccommodating hotel I have ever stayed at. Hotel entry with a motel environment. They monetize everything. No water bottle -- not a single bottle! They will charge you $3 per bottle from their little store in the corner of the bldg. There were no greeters or valet at the entry of the hotel, mind you this hotel has seven steps up, and people with lots of luggage of people literally having to lug their stuff up the stairs. When I asked the front desk person -- some snooty wannabe -- she snapped back saying, "they're on break, but you can leave it outside if you want." That response is stupid at best since the luggage will be sitting out by a main road, and it was rainy. No offer of assistance whatsoever. The front desk staff needs to all be fired or retrained. I am getting upset reliving my experience as I write this review. Ruined my entire experience. Disgusting motel.

This hotel has some of the most strange issues I've ever encountered in hotels, and way too many of them for one stay. 1) It's quite old and beat up. Carpet is very stained and dirty. Table lamp didn't lit up. Furniture was outdated. Shower curtain didn't cover all bath and let some water out. A closet door didn't close because its hinge was torn off. 2) When I was in my room, I was sneezing and blowing my nose almost non-stop. When I left the hotel, these issues stopped. Returned – started again. I had 6 nights to check this – worked like a clock. They probably either use some allergenic substances for cleaning or it's this old stained dusty carpet or other old dusty pieces of décor that caused this allergy. I've never experienced this before in any other hotels, and I stay a lot in them. I had to sleep with a pile of napkins on the night table. Very unpleasant! 3) On the forth night alarm clock that I never set up has rung at 6 am! It wasn't clear how to turn off this alarm so I simply unplugged it. I suspect that housekeeper touched this alarm and didn't check if this changed something in the alarm. 4) Happy that alarm clock is unplugged, I went to sleep being sure that nothing would disturb me this night. Naive! At 5:30 am telephone alarm has rung!!! I've never requested it!!! Upon waking up I heard loud noise that sounded like packing up in the room above me. I guess, receptionists probably set alarm up in a wrong room. I must mention that I have trouble falling asleep again if I'm awaken at night. That night I went to bed late -at about 2 am and was awaken at 5:30 am by this strange phone alarm. I didn't manage to fall asleep anymore and walked like a zombie all the next day. When I approached receptionists with the question about strange alarm clock and phone alarm, they were polite but said that they had no idea how these alarms were set up. Very strange! 5) I never charge anything to my room when I stay in hotels, but always double-check with front desk upon check-out if nothing was charged to me by mistake. Receptionist in HotelAria confirmed that my account was all paid and nothing was charged during my stay. Then I'm coming back home, checking my credit card statement and seeing and additional charge of $133.99 on my card from HotelAria. I called the hotel and chose “Front desk” option on their answering machine. The option didn't work. The system returned me to options a second after it redirected me to Front desk. I had to choose “Catering” option and ask them to redirect me to Front desk. They said they were switching me to Front desk, and at this moment the system hung up on me altogether. Funnily, when I called them, the answering machine sweetly told me “Let us show you why our hotel is one of the best in the area...” And right after even their phone system didn't work :) After a few attempts, I finally reached their front desk. They said they don't see any charges on my account and they have no idea why my card was charged!!! Just like with that phone alarm – it rang but they have no idea why… Then they said to wait a few days to make sure that this charge changes status from Pending to Complete on my credit card and call again. I waited and called. Again unable to reach front desk, I chose some other option. A woman answered and said I had to write to their accountant and gave me accountant's email address. When I tried to spell that address to make sure I got it right, the woman got a bit impatient with me. I wrote to this email address. A few days later it still wasn't answered. I called again and reached front desk. They repeated the story that they don't see anything on my account and I have to wait longer. I answered that this charge is already a complete purchase of my credit card. Then they decided to search somewhere else in their system, found some mistake charge and said they'd reimburse it. If they looked attentively in their system first time I called, I wouldn't have to call some many times and write letters. A couple of days later the charge was reimbursed and a few days later I finally received an answer from their accountant which was already useless. It simply repeated that my mistake charge was reimbursed. In this hotel so many things happen “on their own” that this hotels seems “haunted”. Alarm clock and phone alarm get set up and nobody knows how. Credit card gets charged without any charges being present on my account. It's in addition to me sneezing non-stop while in my room. Despite this hotel being in quite a nice area of Miami, it doesn't make an impression of something high-end and worth paying a premium price for. It rather makes and impression of a beat up and strangely managed hotel with way too many things going wrong that I've never seen in other hotels. Next time I'll be in Miami I won't even consider this hotel. Already enough troubles!!!

"Nice hotel in Coconut Grove that doesn't yet live up to Premium branding, although it has potential"

This was a very nice hotel in Coconut Grove which Best Western has converted from Sonesta brand to one of their Premium brands. BW seems to be upgrading their chain to BW plus in an effort to improve appearance- from my experience, it seems to be successful. Actually seems like a European hotel in style and appearance. It has a nice in hotel restaurant that can compete with the local restaurants for convenience, if not ambiance. Views are good, bay seems better than City view. Pool seems nice, although we didn't use it. Had laundry in room that was broken and filled with water. The management sent someone to look at it, but no effort to repair or change room. Could have been a worthwhile convenience but i felt like a stepchild! Same could be said about their 2 computers which failed to have internet service on second day. Had to personally call and then report the malfunction. The management seemed less than interested in fixing it since they had a contract externally to repair it and they weren't coming until after the day we were checking out! The front desk was polite, but having these two malfunctions made it a little inconvenient, especially if this is a premium hotel. If it isn't,then am willing to overlook it! Valet parking is expensive($30/day) so we used overnight self parking for $12/day. Beware of late night meter enforcement!

"Pretty good choice in Coconut Grove"

I've stayed in most of the hotels in The Grove and this has been the best, time-after-time. I travel there a lot for business and the staff are really nice. There are multiple room types and they do have some where the doors are immediately adjacent to each other around the ends of the hotel. It's a bit of a strange setup and because the doors are so close, you can hear the neighbouring room. Pool and gym are really nice.

"Noisy"

Description says' nestled away in a quiet neighborhood ‘, don't believe it! By day yes, at night it's a totally different story! Place across street has Loud music past midnight. When asked when music ends, night clerk tells you it's not their music and eventually confesses it's between 1-2a before it stops. Day clerk claims a 11 a noise curfew. And it's just lovely that after you fall asleep at 2a the alarm clock goes off at 5a because their staff doesn't check on such things! I have stayed in hotels over bars and knowing it will keep their guests up at night, ear plugs, not attitude is provided! Wouldn't go back, and it's a shame as place has awesome potential

Dear ladyjaneOrlando, Thank you for your review. Please know that your feedback is very important to us because it gives us the opportunity to review our operation and identify opportunities for improvement. While we cannot hold our neighbors accountable for the 11 am curfew we think that providing ear plugs is a fantastic idea! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Without your review we would not have had this opportunity to improve the quality of our service. We sure hope that you enjoyed the bay views, lighted city skyline views at night, rooftop pool, and central location next to the best shopping and dining in the Grove. If you happen to find yourself in Miami in the future I do hope that you give us the opportunity to prove our commitment to service excellence. We promise to not only meet, but exceed your expectations. Regards, Tamara J - manager

"We selected Hotel Aria for its excellent location, amenities and beautiful ocean view."

From the start of our arrival at the Hotel Aria, we were met by the Front Desk Supervisor Ashley who frankly came dangerously close to perfection. She was professional, pleasant, competent and helpful. The machine which prepares the door keys was momentarily "on the blink," but when it was up and running, Ashley hand delivered the keys to us even though we were willing to go to the front desk to pick them up. She also advised us on places to eat and patiently and pleasantly answered every question that we asked. She gave us (and every person who approached her) VIP treatment/service. Our stay was wonderful, and she was a large part of the "wonderful" we enjoyed. ~Very Happy Campers 2/2019

"Amazing Views"

User 22/01/2019

We chose Hotel Aria for it's great central location and neighborhood walk-ability. Several nice restaurants, bars and coffee shops within easy walking distance. For those that like to run or walk for exercise their is a great path right by the bay. The best thing about the hotel are the great views in any direction - Biscayne Bay, Coral Gables, Miami. I am giving them five stars even though there was a problem with the room we booked which was not available when we checked in. The most important thing is how the facility responds when this occurs. The people at the front desk and the manager did their best to make it right - which was very appreciated.

I wanted a Room that was modestly priced within walking distance to a variety of things. I am a runner and the park within a few blocks was a great place for a quick run. The restaurants close by were nice.

"Great spot for a meal with a view"

User 05/01/2019

Great outdoor restaurant with stellar view! Stayed here a few time when it was a Sonesta. The new look and feel is great as far as the restaurant goes. We are local and love a good meal with a view minus the crowds and this is just the spot. Went for sunset and enjoyed a nice meal and drinks! Highly recommend the burrata salad and my husband loved the burger and Parmesan fries.

"UGH... Fix the Elevator!"

3
TexasTram, Texas 29/12/2018

This was a sonesta property that was taken over by best western hotel aria. Here are the negatives: 1) restaurant Panorama not as good as before (atmosphere and food) 2) 21 story hotel has been using only two elevators since we have been here (arrived 6 days ago) Here are the positives: 1) location and 2) view. It is definitely not as upscale as it was under the sonesta brand.

Hotel was average.. rooms didn't look as exceptional as they show on pics.. the hair on our rooms were old and looked so funny.. night stand lights were out.. shower gel was out.. good thing we were only in the rooms for 6hrs.. I would choose some other place next time!

We stayed 10 days, everything once again was perfect. The room is big and always clean! They changed the pool furniture, so everything is brand new. The staff from the bar, restaurant and front desk are very friendly and helpful. Specially ,Mari Carmen the manager, Isabel from front desk,Gustavo and Marco!! They are very competent. The location is very good too! Now they are changing for the Aria Hotels!

"An better than average hotel, with some service issues"

Shimshon001, Tel Aviv, Israel 18/11/2018

Overall, the hotel (now no longer the Sonesta but the ARIA) was OK plus. I was there for three nights; the room was large and clean, and the bed comfortable. Also definitely worth mentioning is the attractive bar/restaurant/pool/terrace on the 8th floor, with a wonderful view over the surroundings, particularly striking during sunset. There were a few things, however, that somewhat detracted from my positive experience: (a) When my key card did not open my room door on the second day I was there, and I had to return to the front desk 16 floors down to have it fixed, I did not even get an apology. (b) When eventually I got the door open, and found out that the room has not been cleaned and the bed was still unmade (around 4 pm), the answer from the front desk was an indifferent “OK, we will send someone over”. Once again, no apology. (c) While a capsule-operated coffee machine in the room is certainly a nice touch, I was surprised when the capsule and cup supply and was not replenished when the room was cleaned the next day. (d) In the aforementioned roof terrace, the waiter who recited the beer selection neglected to tell me that the beer I ordered (twice) was not among those deserving the special happy hour discount. On the positive side, however, on the next night I was offered a second mojito on the house, which was greatly appreciated and sort of compensated for the unpleasant experience of the previous evening. Even more appreciated was the fact that when I checked out I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was not charged for the two controversial beers of point 'd' above.

"Great hotel"

EPANsantos, Santos, SP 14/11/2018

Sonesta coconut grove (that is seems to be changing to Best Western) is a very nice hotel. Our room had a balcony with bayside view and rooms are very comfortable. Gym is very good and view from the pool area (8th floor) is wonderful. I would stay there again. The only point is that parking is around 30 dollars per day, the public parking just beside the hotel is 12 dollars.
