A cosy boutique british feeling in the heart of London , the hotel is a Victorian block of buildings right next to Hyde park & Paddington station The area has so many restaurants and pubs The room is spotless and has a very comfortable bed with a thick fitted carpet , coffee facility and a good strong shower The breakfast is basic continental with plenty of varaities and good coffee relative to its price Staff are polite , helpful and the main hotel door opens at night only with guest cards , so it's a very safe premises I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit central London casually for a few days , get a larger room if you with to stay for a long period , rates are great and the overall value of the service is fantastic
Did not change sheets from previous guest so had to sleep 1st night in dirty (and really dirty) sheets and later in the stay when it was changed it was smaller than the mattress (a lot smaller) so we had to basically sleep directly on top of a disgusting mattress. Avoid this hotell or bring your own sheets.
A very clean, quiet, spacious bedroom (room 2 in the basement). Beds comfortable, staff very professional and friendly. I cannot understand previous comments about the breakfast, which was excellent (continental buffet for £6, which you could quite easily pay somewhere for just a coffee and a pastry nearby. Only thing that stops it being 5 star rating is that everywhere in this part of London is so expensive, don't think any could be rated 5.
Tiniest bathroom ever! Had to sit sideways on toilet to avoid hitting sink with knees. Elevator didn't take us to the level where our room was located. Took elevator as far as it went, then had to walk up a narrow & curvy set of stairs with our luggage. Not a great breakfast. Bed was comfortable.
I feared for my safety during my stay at this hotel. The front door was completely unlocked, and with no staff consistently at reception, anyone from the street could walk in at any time. There was no sense of security, which was especially concerning as a solo traveler. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable - more like a torture device than a place to rest. My back is still recovering. As for the bathroom, it was laughably small. I've been in public toilet cubicles with more space, and using it required some serious maneuvering. I have no idea how the breakfast was—there was no way I was staying any longer than necessary. To top it off, the check-out process was painfully slow, matching the outdated feel of the entire hotel. In short, this place is poorly maintained, insecure, and far from relaxing. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially not lone travelers. Stay somewhere, anywhere else.
Great value for money, very clean and modern, great service being able to leave bags at reception. 5 min walk from Paddington. My only complaint was we were in a twin room in the loft or bathroom was very small and awkward. Staff very nice and helpful.
Rooms are really small and tight. As is the elevator. Not handicap friendly. Continental breakfast. Not super clean, beds are small. Good location and price may cancel our the rest. 2 miles from Buckingham Palace and all that downtown area.
The experience was very British, comfortable, clean and in the very center close to all attractions. The room and bathroom size are similar to the pictures advertised so what you see is what you get. What I payed for the room was good to the overall value of the service. Breakfast was many choices including good coffee at a great price. It's defiantly a no brainer that I would come again to London and the Queensway hotel.
Every so often you stay in a hotel that surpasses your expectations for the right reason…….or the wrong ones. Sadly this one was for the wrong ones. On arrival check in was an extremely relaxed affair with a bell on the desk then when “dinged” elicited no receptionist, because there was in fact a hidden bell on the wall, which luckily delivered a receptionist to check us in (eventually). My room on entry seemed clean enough but the carpet looked liked it had been neglected by the hoover for quite a while. The bathroom was bijou, in fact so bijou that unless a child was using the toilet it was impossible to use it and have the door closed, or even just to sit on it straight as the sink hangs over the toilet - to the extreme. Explains why it was so clean I guess. However I wouldn't recommend this room if you are sharing with anyone (unless that's your thing). Also might be worth closing the curtains to protect the eyes of anyone looking in from outside. The air-conditioning worked, sounded like a jet engine but it worked. When it was turned off though the dripping noise was like that a comedy tap. All of this could explain a bad score however the worst part about the room and indeed the hotel was the security, or rather lack of. The room door had a gap underneath it of at least an inch and I'm guessing it certainly was not up to any fire safety considering a small cat could probably fit through there. The front door to the hotel was also completely unlocked and as we discovered with no-one ever on reception it left the entire building open to anyone who wanted to enter. Travelling as a female on your own it certainly did not make you feel like you were safe, so I certainly would not recommend to lone travellers. The check out process was painful trying to request a full receipt……in total it took the receptionist twenty minutes, which is about the length of time I slept all night. All in all, I would say avoid at all costs, unless you really are in to all of the above. In which case - good luck! Oh and I sadly can't comment on breakfast because who would want to stay there any longer than they had to.
Overall was a good stay. Hotel is cheap and cheerful. Perfect location, within walking distance of Paddington station and Underground and easy to find. Close to restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and park. The room was basic but big and it was fine for us as all we wanted was a decent place to sleep for 2 nights with our little one. Staff are friendly and welcomed us when we arrived. Breakfast was okay with only a continental option. Enough to choose from but quality was average but I guess you get what you pay for. The shower was fine and temperature was lovely but shower head needed to be thoroughly cleaned so pressure could be better. Our overall experience was very good with very little to complain about. Hotels in London are incredibly expensive so if you're looking for something basic and cheap, close to London Underground then this hotel is ideal.
My parents and I selected this hotel because we wanted to stay in Paddington. Check-in procedure was really easy and quick and the receptionist assigned us the room on a high floor, as requested by email. Ask for the 4th floor just if you don't have mobility difficulties or too many baggages, because of the limited elevator access. The triple room was really big, compared to the standards of London, and very clean despite the moquette. The bathroom was a little bit small but with toiletries and also an hairdryer. I recommend you not to leave your shower cap at home, because you'll not find it in the room. Nearby the structure you'll see a lot of restaurants ,souvenirs shops, the metro and train station, from there you'll be able to get to everywhere (Hyde Park is just 10-minutes walk). Stay here because you'll enjoy your experience in this beautiful city and you'll save your money!
A Spotless Victorian boutique budget that is super centrally located in the heart of London , it's a 5 min walk from Paddigton station & Hyde park . The hotel has a very cozy reception with a fireplace and I had a very comfarble room that looks like it's been recently refurbed. I think the breakfast was basic but more than generous at £6 per person which doesn't exist in London Overall it's a fantastic stay with a great value and I will definitely return to London and the Queensway hotel
The bathroom window was missing any sort of catch at all (so it wouldn't lock shut or latch open) and the front cover of the safe was missing exposing the batteries. Worst of all, I was right next door to the breakfast room which means I was woken by the first person that chose to drag their chair across the hard floor and kept awake by everyone else that did it afterwards. This meant that I was woken two hours earlier than I wanted to be. Finally, how about actually putting the wifi details in the rooms rather than only having them detailed on the front desk.
Not as I remember but much better ,very modernized than before also very comfortable and clean ,suitable for either a long or short stay , very nice breakfast with lots of variety, the staff as well were very helpful and efficient during my stay .
This was by far the worst service I have ever received while staying at a BW property! The staff couldn't be bothered in even trying to help us unlock the front door to exit the property yesterday and then referred to us as "DUMB AMERICAN's"! So very disappointed. The pictures on the website were not the actual rooms... bait and switch! POOR POOR POOR EXCUSE FOR A BW DO NOT RECOMMNED ANYONE STAYING HERE!
Not the best hotel I've stayed at in London. The location was fantastic, short walk to shops, restaurants and the station. The room was small but had everything you'd need, ie. Towels, hairdryer, tea and coffee. In terms of things that I didn't enjoy, the breakfast was a big let down, it was fully continental and the breakfast room was a tiny basement room with no external light, there were no options for hot food apart from eggs, in which you had to cook yourself. The bedroom we were given wasn't great, it was small and faced onto the road meaning there was a lot of noise from traffic and people. The bed was hard and you could feel the springs. The tea station had tea stains and the mugs were dirty. The bathroom was also minuscule, there wasn't any space to put the bath mat down in front of the shower meaning you could easily slip. I won't be rushing back any time soon.
Nice hotel very close to Paddington station where you can reach easely nearly every part of London. Nice neiborghood and kind people made our stay very pleasant. As tourist I can highly recomend this hotel and will probably consider it for other London visits.
The location is great. It was just a short walk from the Paddington station and had a safe and secure atmosphere. It is a convenient place to go anywhere.Breakfast was fine with hot eggs and fruits and others. Even though the room was in the basement, they were not notified in advance that the elevator was broken and not usable. Only hot water was available in the shower. I felt that this hotel is not suitable for a long-term stay.
Lovely tree lined quiet street, close to Hyde Park, eateries and Paddington station, all within reasonable walking distance. Room neat, tidy and clean. Bathroom a bit small but nice. Front staff friendly and helpful. Will use when next in London.
A good central hotel in london near Paddington and Hyde Park. The central location it was good price and a plus was the air conditior. Clean Room and a basic breakfast. A plus also for rooms for three persons. It had elevator so eaise to access.
The Queensway is a no frills hotel very conveniently located in Sussex Gardens. The room was very small and getting in and out of the tub shower was a challenge. Free breakfast was fine typical fare. As is the case in many London hotels there is no AC and it's pretty toasty in the rooms during a heat wave. Overall, good stay for the cost. Great location to train station and Hyde Park.
Good clean basic room. Such good value for money would definitely stay again. Convenient location and easy to find. Room was small however for the price it was spotless and functional. Bed was very comfortable too and fan in the room was excellent touch. Thank you
Excellent location with very quick access to train station and public transport. Paddington felt like a safe area. Room was small but did the job. I would stay there again as price was reasonable for London and it was very easy to get to the Paddington train station. The hop on hop off buses were close too.
This is a great budget option for staying in London, I stayed one night for business but would be happy to use this hotel for a holiday trip. My single room was tiny, as to be expected for the price, but was very clean and had everything you need, tea, coffee, toiletries, adequate towels, decent TV, decent shower. I didn't interact much with the staff but they seemed friendly and helpful. My room was up on the 4th floor in the eaves (clearly was once the servants' quarters and the floor wasn't even level), very quiet, I slept well. They have a continental breakfast available for extra £6 but I went out for a full English - plenty of options for that too within a few minutes walk. Easy check-in and out here too.
4 minute walk to Paddington station. Plenty of eating out options around. Corner shop for snacks. Hotel itself was clean and pleasant, no hassles
We loved our tree-top view and quiet charming room that was so conveniently located. The staff seemed genuinely friendly and were very helpful.
Basic hotel room, comfortable enough for myself and 2 friends with 3 single beds. Our room was in the basement so any noise above us was quite loud. Our main problem was the bathroom. The shower was tiny and our bathroom door kept jamming, we all got stuck in the bathroom multiple times and had to help each other out. We actually needed to get some help from reception because the bathroom door had jammed and we couldn't open it at all, with one of us stuck inside the bathroom. The hotels location is ideal for convenience for paddington station and near hyde park.
The proximity to Paddington station after a very long flight and Heathrow express journey is terrific It is very conveniently located, close to Hyde Park and within walking distance of Buckingham palace, in a row of renovated terraces, many of them hotels. The location is pretty. The hotel itself has everything that is needed in relatively utilitarian rooms. The reception staff were kind and helpful and the breakfast catered for all tastes.
It was nice enough. We got a lower room so essentially were underground, therefore our room did not have a front view, it was a little space behind a building where someone had parked their bicycle. Im cold in the shade in summer but this room was exceptionally hot, they got our oscillating fan working though. The room was basic, the shower was so small that my husband (who is very small statured and very thin) said he had to wash one side of his body at a time because he couldn't extend his elbows haha. My wake up call one day was delivered at 330am in person (strange and unexpected). The breakfast was exceptional, the front desk staff were neutral, not especially engaging. Close to Paddington station, leafy area. All the hotels there are in long strips of buildings and each entrance is a different hotel. We take things in our stride and make the best of things, but I wouldn't stay here again, but it was clean enough and in a good location.
We stayed here for two nights. The room was small but cosy and quiet. Very clean and modern. The location is good with buses from Paddington station just up the road going straight into London shopping areas in a few minutes. Breakfast was continental style. Nice shower. Welcoming staff. The only problem was the Tv as only channel that worked was BBC1. I would return to this hotel.
My brother and I had an amazing stay at the Queensway Hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Our room was not only spacious and impeccably clean but also had a welcoming ambiance that made our time together even more enjoyable. The hotel's convenient location allowed us to easily explore the city together, and we loved coming back to the cozy atmosphere of the hotel every evening. Our experience at the Queensway Hotel was nothing short of perfect, and we can't wait to return for another memorable stay
Staying at the Queensway Hotel was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the warm and welcoming ambiance made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met throughout our stay. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the city. The hotel's location is perfect, with easy access to public transportation and a variety of dining options nearby. Overall, our experience at the Queensway Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return
Great small hotel in a lovely street. Clean and tidy, helpful staff and a great location for Paddington Station, Hyde Park and other London attractions.
We found this hotel to be very clean in a quiet safe area, with polite and friendly staff. We had a short 24hrs in London and this hotel was very close to Paddington station for our connection to Heathrow Airport. Very central and a short walk to Kensington gardens and Oxford Street for some shopping. Internet connection was good and breakfast was a great to start the day, I would not hesitate to recommend this great value for money hotel.
We had a very nice stay as a family in this hotel, the breakfast was very nice with lots of varieties and obviously the rooms went through a lot of renovation since the last visit , still very clean and convenient to stay with the kids. It's close to the park so we walked right there and spent a lovely day ,The staff were very polite and helpful as well.
It felt wrong from the moment we walked in. One of the senior staff members was talking down to a staff member in a very demeaning way at the front. It was 7 degrees Celsius and our heat was not working. My wife went to the front desk and they provided us with a small space heater and said someone would come and fix the problem, please see my photos. We were there for four days and no one ever came. When I got up the next morning it was raining and the sky light in our room was leaking all over the floor in the bathroom. There was black mold on the area where it was leaking, please see my photos. And the view! Please see my photos. If there was anywhere else to go we would have left. I gave this hotel a chance to refund my money but they refused. I expect more from Best Western!
Great location and friendly staff. Reception are has just been repainted and is fresh. It looks like part of the hotel might be newer than the bit we stayed in. Our bathroom was tiny - barely enough room to stand in it. Shower was difficult to use and could do with being replaced. We only had half a small shower gel on check in and some dust in the room but housekeeping came the next day and replenished everything. Overall I would stay again but the bathroom size is off putting. Also very noisy at night - bring earplugs!
3 day stay over the London marathon, very well impressed by our stay. continental breakfast was fresh and great choices and staff very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very small but well laid out to get full use of the space available, towel changed daily and very clean Reception staff was great also helped out when needed and very trusting as I left my handbag at reception and they held it to following morning when I came back looking.
We have recently stayed at the Queensway hotel ,the group booked 15 rooms which were all different in layout and size . The property is converted Victorian buildings , very english , very cosy to be exact it's boutique budget experience . It's situated in a green area that's a 5 min from Paddington station and Hyde Park so ideal for walkers and central tourism . The breakfast is basic continental , all you can , and only £6 pp The room itself is recently refurbed , very clean and comfortable with all necessary facilities . Staff were very friendly , informative and kind . The overall value of our experience was great and we do recommend the Queensway hotel and London to everyone .
I stayed here with my son for two nights. It was a great base for our London adventures. Barely 5 mins walk from Paddington which made getting out and about each day really easy, and only a couple of stops on the bus or tube from the Diana memorial playground when London got a bit too much. We had a twin room which was perfect for us - clean, safe and quiet. The room above us had a creaky floor but it was nothing that a pair of earplugs couldn't fix. The room was a bit hot but we could open the window and use the fan provided to cool it down. Breakfast was a simple buffet but it was plentiful and filling. I'd happily come back.
Great location near Paddington Station. Shops and places to eat very nearby Really good value- room was clean and comfortable. Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. Would definitely stay again.
Visited this hotel in 2019 and was perfect for the location and cleanliness, this year found it much improved and more delighting to stay ,perfectly clean hotel -professional staff and great breakfast -as for the rooms they are more simpler and more modern than they used to be which is nice . Great hotel and hopefully will come again soon.
I have always trusted BW to provide a service that I can depend on. Not this time! This was the worst experience I've ever had with BW. Our room was dirty, we had to drag our luggage upstairs to get to the elevator. The toilet was so close to the shower that I had to sit sideways. I love a good curry BUT not 24/7! After one night in the youth hostel for lab rats in a maze, we found the Mornington hotel. That's what BW is all about.
The hotel is ideal for the school trip because of its great location which is 5 min walk from Paddington station which is connected to Heathrow airport by Elizabeth Line and , 5 min from Hyde park which has the Amazing Winter Wonderland , walking distance to Harrods , Selfridges , etc … The bedding is very clean and super comfortable , some bathrooms are limited in size but totally acceptable Rooms & bathrooms are recently refurbed . Reception is super cozy and staff are wonderful. The breakfast is open buffet continental for 6£ per person which is amazing for what it offers All in all it's a great value . We had a great time , thank you Queensway ❤️ .
Location to Paddington very good. Whilst bed linen and towels were clean the actual en-suite is sooo small you have to slide yourself under the sink to get to the toilet. When mentioned to chap on reception whilst checking out “welcome to London” with a laugh is not what you expect to hear from them. I only have the one room to go by however and others may differ.
Great location convenient to Paddington Station for Heathrow express & metro. Lovely obliging staff who allowed baggage storage prior to check in, and well appointed rooms. Highly recommended, book direct for a good rate with Best Western membership.
We stayed here to do the Serpentine Swim in Hyde Park. It was a great location and easy walking distance. Easy walking from Paddington station and underground. Very good selection at breakfast which was from 7am. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee making and fluffy towels. Great shower. Good wifi and TV with Freeview and Netflix.
Ok to summarize this experience First of all the location was excellent amazingly situated on a beautiful tree lined road between Hyde park , Paddington station , etc .. so many restaurants and pubs around Secondly the check in experience was very quick , I checked in & pay online before arriving also stored luggage until check in time at 3 pm Third point ; the bedroom & bathroom were refurbished , spotless , confortable , good size for London standards 3 star Victorian property . Bathroom on the smaller side but totally fine ( Budget Boutique Experience ) Fourth the breakfast was amazing and extremely well priced ( 6£ / person ) per day makes it a no brainer Fifth very nice experience at check out , staff very polite and caring Overall it was a great value casual stay and would defiantly use it again .
Room was okay and had no problems with the staff. Stayed on the first floor and there was no ac just a fan that came with the room. There was a heatwave when I was staying in this location and it heated up the room extremely. The room was so hot, chocolate that was purchased and brought back to the room had melted. It made sleeping in this room very difficult. As I was there for tourism I was not in the room during the day but the night was very difficult to sleep as the room was just so dreadfully hot.
I booked a cosy double room ( tip / no. 18 ) for 3 nights , the room exceeded my expectations .. Very clean , good space , high ceiling , very comfortable bedding , nice tv , refurbed bathroom . The room was on another building than the one with the reception so it was very quite overlooked a patio garden . The breakfast was simple continental and plenty of variety with great value Fantastic location for Hyde park & winter wonderland . I have booked another stay in December The overall value of the service amazing
We arrived at 10 am , the hotel is in a beautiful tree lined street which was literally 5 min walking from Paddington station The receptionist was very helpful storing our bags until the room was ready , we have checked in at 12:30 pm , so they basically check you in as soon as the room is ready The room is recently refurbished spacious by London 3 star standards, spotless , the bedding was super comfortable , crispy clean duvet and plenty of tea and coffee . Bathroom was on the smaller side but excellent shower pressure and good toiletries I think the breakfast was great , so many varieties , open buffet and it's just 6£ per person , London is expensive and with this price you can't buy 2 coffees The stay overall value , staff etc was amazing and I would defenatly stay in it again if I am back to London
Cleaning staff barged into our room 3 times during our stay, twice in a single morning, ignoring the "Do not disturb" sign and without knocking. Turned an ok experience into the worst hotel stay we've ever had. Hotel's inability to meet even the very absolute minimum of hospitality means we will never stay here again, and strongly recommend other people look elsewhere. Rooms were extremely small, especially the bathroom. Could barely manuver into the shower or use the sink. Breakfast below standard. Would rather pay extra at a regular coffee shop for a decent breakfast.
3 night stay and very good value for money. Fantastic location being so close to paddington station and within walking distance of the very vibrant edgeware road and marble arch/oxford street. Room was small however clean and beds very comfortable. Bathroom very small which could be a challenge for some but was adequate for us. Overall very enjoyable experience and would return.
Nice, clean hotel that's very conveniently located a few minutes walk from Paddington. Easy walk across Hyde Park to get to the museums etc. Staff were very helpful. It was a good, affordable place to stay overnight, with luggage store freely available.
It is a cosy British themed hotel aiming towards providing a budget boutique experience . You get what you pay for , no surprises and great breakfast for 6£ The room sizes are good by London standards and as advertised , bathroom size is limited and acceptable . Sleeping experience was very good , comfortable bed & pillows . I would recommend it during the Hyde park concerts , winter wonderland because of its fantastic location .
On arrival, the hotel was easy to find it is a 2 minute walk from Paddington station. We needed to store our bags as we went out and this was ok but the room is just an open, quite messy office so can't guarantee that the bags are the safest when left there. We came back later on and checked in. The room was on the 4th floor and there was a few steps to go up beyond where the lift took us. The room was very snug but fine for one night with a small bag. It was clean enough but quite dated. Sleep was fine although you can hear everything from the corridor and stairs. In the morning we had breakfast which wasn't the best but ok for 1 morning, there wasn't much choice and the food quality was quite low. The crockery also didn't feel the cleanest. OK stay for a cheap, short stay but probably worth paying an extra £20/£30 for better breakfast and updated rooms if it's a leisure stay.
This hotel is great value for money and very close to transport links and local restaurants etc. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly. The bathroom in our room was very small but was something that we could cope with as everything else was great.
Description said hotel has a/c but they claimed it was broken… it was hot in London… bathroom extremely small… breakfast was simple, they could add a couple of items. Location is great, less than 2 blocks from Paddington train station/subway.. Restaurants are close by.. staff was somewhat helpful
Booked a cozy double , which was upgraded to a standard double and a complementary breakfast for 35 % January promotion all for 59£ . The room by London standards is spacious , renovated , homey , warm , comfortable , my stay was more than amazing absolutely fantastic . The value that this hotel offers for a central London property is unbeatable , I have been to many hotels in London but have never experienced all these advantages with that cost . The breakfast costs 6£ and it's an open buffet with plenty variety of foods and drinks I have booked it again in April , June and Dec and the staff were so kind and helpful to book me the same room . it's my number 1 for London
The hotel is very well located for a central London visit , 3 min walk from Hyde park and similarly to the main station to Heathrow airport . The level of cleaning was superb , fresh lemon smell , comfortable bed , new carpets and bathroom , nice tv , plenty of tea and coffee in the room Breakfast has plenty of choices , great free Colombian coffees and hot chocolates all costs 6£ which is excellent for London . overall value of the stay was very good and so I highly recommend and will be visiting again
Very close to Hyde park and Paddington. The hotel is basic. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was suitable (we eat toast and cereal. Other breads didn't seem too fresh or were poor quality. The Wi-Fi was patchy and the bathroom definitely needed a shelf as there was nowhere to put our toiletries. On the plus side the price was good for the excellent location. You get what you pay for.
Good location. 5 minutes walk from Paddington station, restaurants and shops. It was just a place to lay our heads down and it's ok for that. But it's not the place to go for a nice stay in London. Price is ok considering the location and the staff were friendly. Lots of stairs! Room was ok. Uncomfortable bed. Small bathroom. Was clean and tidy in the bedroom but there was a bit missing on the tap mixer in the bathroom so left that well alone. When we used the (tiny) sink water pooled around the tap as well as on the floor for some reason. Breakfast was continental. However everything was warm. Bread was warm. Going a bit crispy. Butter was very runny! Cheese was prepackaged and warm. Felt rubbery and sweaty. Don't bother at all. Not worth a penny. Despite the moans, good location, quiet at night and clean.
Stayed here Boxing Day for 3 nights booked it July time so got a good rate. I've stayed in lots of the hotels on Sussex gardens and this was one of the better ones. Booked a ‘cosy' room which was on the 4 th floor which had a tv, one double bed, a little wardrobe and a dressing table and stool. Bathroom was small and shower was really small not much room to get washed to be honest. Buy saying that we would stay here again the locations great for everything it was nice and quiet and absolutely spotless I'd just pay a bit more and get a bigger room. Staff always polite and friendly. Our only gripe was that we didn't get our towels changed but all in all a nice hotel .
A very cosy hotel in a wonderful location , everything was cosy about this place from the lobby to the room and breakfast restaurant , very nice art work , great coffee and simple delicious Continental breakfast Proximity to Hyde park winter wonderland 10 min walking Value was incredible , I think this place is a hot deal and I advice everyone to book it and I ll be staying here again . Similar hotels in that area were selling more than 400£ same room type during my dates and this one less than 50% and better rooms ..
The hotel has a very nice cozy reception , nice music , 5min from Hyde park and paddigton station , the location was great The room was spotless & recently modernized ,with new carpets and bathroom / bathroom size I would say limited but there was no issues at all . Breakfast has plenty of choices and really very well priced I would really recommend it The overall value of the stay was very good and so I would be visiting again
Amazing location a few mins walk from Paddington St and 20 mins walk from Marble Arch tube St id stay here every time for the price over the crazy money of the other Hotels in the area really is amazing location with lots of public transport near by. Room 108 was amazing room was plenty big enough with good curtains and the shower was amazing instant hot water plenty of space to store things really no faults yes the corridors are narrow to the rooms and i understand some rooms are smaller but anyone booking here ask for room198.and with a good work desk and the WIFI was fine for mw I did not ear here so no comment. All the staff i spoke was great and asked how i was doing will stay here again for sure
Location absolutely perfect! This is my second visit to this particular hotel. When I visited in July, it wasn't very impressive ! However, this time, so much improvement. The proprietor is obviously working to improve this hotel. Everything's changed Great staff, they very friendly. Room and bathroom very clean although still not very spacious, but this is expected in London. Improved Breakfast, carpets changed. I will definitely recommend this hotel.
Very basic breakfast, cereal, juice, hard boiled eggs, etc.. There are a number of local place where you can pay for a full breakfast. Stairs are very steep and narrow. Read the reviews as they are very fair in most cases. Try to avoid the basement or 4th floor, especially in the summer months.
Location is very convenient to some of the main attractions, restaurants and public transportation. Staff are very nice. However, the room given to us failed our expectation. We were in the basement with a small toilet and bath and a very old carpet. This room definitely requires an upgrade and a big NO for 3 occupants.
Great location with food and shops nearby. Surrounded by beautiful parks, next to the tube, and a welcoming staff. The room size was plenty big for one person, the bathroom was very nice with a tub. Would love to come back.
The hotel was better than expected , very good comfort level , I think part of the room is newly renovated bed , carpet , etc … Nice , helpful staff and a fantastic location The 4th floor had no lift which was ok for me but could be a problem for someone with limited mobility . Also the toilet was small but ok for the stay , I later understood that it's common for these Victorian buildings at that neighborhood considering the central location . I had the Continental open breakfast everyday which I though was very good for the price 6£ I think the place offers a great value for money .
I don't want to judge too strictly as most of hotels in this area are probably same and no other is better. The location was excellent just in 5 min walk between Hyde park and Paddington station. All the rest is very basic and unconfortable.
Stayed here for one night with my daughter. We always stay near Paddington when visiting London and this is our favourite. Clean room, comfortable beds, tea/coffee making and complimentary toiletries provided. Yes the ensuite is the smallest ever but ours was clean and manageable. I was impressed with the continental breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money in my opinion.
Location is very nice with closeness to hyde park and restaurants nearby. Breakfast is poor and cleanliness too. Bathroom were dirty also Internet were fine but you need to restart it every half hour approximately
Stayed here this week with my grandson for a two night sightseeing trip. Great location. Two mins from Paddington Station I found the staff to be really helpful and polite at all times. The room we got was small and given we were staying at a time when it had not rained for ages and London was oppressively hot we had difficulty sleeping in this small room even though a fan was provided. The bathroom was also very small but the beds were comfortable and it was clean. They provided two small towels to shower with which was inadequate and we had the breakfast once only as it was also inadequate. Would I stay here again? Possibly as it was in a good location and a good price.
Excellent hotel which offers value for money and best of service. Good location and near the underground so all in all first class. Would recommend to anyone and will be first on my list to use if in the area again.
Nice casual hotel strategically located next to Hyde park , Paddigton and all the main attractions The staff were really very helpful and friendly . The cleaning level was impeccable , Spotless hotel . The value was great for a this segment but always room fror improvement
Firstly this hotel is very centrally situated to get out and about. Only a two minute walk from Paddington Station. After that I struggle for any pluses. Staff indifferent, not very clean, breakfast barely OK. The bathroom was really just a cupboard, hardly room to get in it and the shower cubicle minuscule. Didn't pay huge amount, if I had I would have wept.
We had a Good stay at the Queensway, Room was good, street was quiet so no issues with sleep, Staff were helpful, location was great, will definitely be looking at staying here again on our next little trip to London.
Unless your expectations are close to zero, do yourself a favour and look for somewhere else to lay your head. We were given a room on the 4th floor, only to discover the lift stopped at floor 3. There then ensued us attempting to drag cases up the narrowest and steepest stairs imaginable. The room was tiny, cat swinging would not even have been possible, the room appeared to be a throwback to the 1980's and had dust visible on most surfaces; the “bathroom” was impossibly small too. The lift taking us to floor 3 was full of bedding etc and on arriving at floor 3, we couldn't open the lift door properly due to a large laundry basket on wheels having been placed strategically and directly in front of the door; this is very obviously a hazard. We lasted around 20 mins before leaving and it was only then that the chap at reception advised our actual room hadn't been ready, or in other words, he tried to palm us off with what appears to be the worst the hotel has to offer. Dreadful place, dreadful staff, wholly unsatisfactory experience: stay at your peril.
The rooms are small yes, but you dont get a suite for the price you pay anyway. The beds are clean and bathrooms clean. The lifts stop on a floor where you have to climb atleast ten steps to get up. So if you have luggage its a pain. I did have luggage and only one of the reception staff was kind enough to give me a room on the ground floor. There are two people at the reception. One from 9am to 3pm and another one at night. The one at night is rude, totally non cooperative and least interested in his work. All in all, one can look for better options around Hyde Park and Paddington at the same rate. Surely for better and efficient reception staff.
We stayed with another couple during the July heat wave, we hadn't realised that some rooms had aircon and accepted a room on the ground floor (room 15). This room was tiny and stifling hot. However our friends had a room on the second floor and had aircon, we only found out the next morning or would have requested a move. The only benefit to room 15 was that it was at the end of a corridor so nice and quiet. The room was extremely basic, shower over bath with corroded shower head, broken seal on shower screen, very basic toiletries, wafer thin towels. For the price I would definitely not recommend!
Would never recommend to anyone. The room was dirty, bathroom so small and smelly, stuffy, suffocating room with one small fan, cheap cereal and bread at breakfast, water and milk were warm, so we ate elsewhere.
Hotel is very basic but I could live with that as priced accordingly and in a good location. The problem is the noise. It is very very noisy. There were also a lot of very tight steps up to the room. Thankfully only staying one night because this is a truly awful hotel.
We stayed in this room on the ground floor during our visit to London to attend the Rolling Stones concert at the Hyde park . The location was fantastic , walkable distance to all attractions , room size was really good for London standards , very clean and comfortable too . I would say that the staff and overall value of the stay was great and would defiantly book again
The good points first…great location, in easy walking distance of Hyde Park, got a really good price, friendly guys on reception. The down side…it was boiling hot during our 8 day visit…no aircon in room, but they had provided an oscillating fan. The windows could be opened, but looked onto a messy bird pigeon poo area, where a workman had ladders right outside the window one day, so didn't like to keep them open. The room was scarcely serviced during our stay…I don't think the bathroom was cleaned once. After two consecutive days of no service, I had to empty the bins, ask for clean towels, toilet roll, coffee, etc. Light above desk didn't work, bits had snapped off taps, everything was extremely basic. However, would I stay again? Yes, I probably would, if we got the great price again as it's ideally located and in a quiet avenue. I just hope they can sort out the cleaning aspect, like so many people have already commented on here, and also install aircon.
Nice and quiet hotel in a very central area. Room was clean, nice beds but small. The bathroom was tiny, I could brush my teath on the toilet... I missed sine glasses in the room and new soap in the bathroom. Loved the cooker and coffe/tea facilities.
Just back from a weekend stay here at Queensway hotel and we will definitely return on our next trip to london. 10/10. Reception staff lovely, rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathroom also very clean and quite spacious compared to other bathrooms in london. Short walk to Paddington station and very convenient to shops, bars and restaurants. We will definitely return.
Clean well maintained room. Friendly staff. Great location near Paddington station. Several bars and restaurants within short walking distance. Hyde Park is only a few streets away so this is a great hotel for those who want to get away from the hurly burly of the city
Able to leave bags before check in. Nice, green, quiet street. Close to Paddington Station Close to Hyde Park / Kensington Palace Gardens No street noise in room. Able to open windows. USB points near bed. Bed, although soft and lumpy, was quite comfortable. Could hear every footstep of upstairs guests. “View” out window was of pipes, mesh and pigeon poo. Room was very stuffy (would be unbearable in summer….no air con or fan.) Bath tub was very high and slippery Window frames rotten…need repairing Relatively clean… however found a used Band-Aid …yuk Expensive for what it was (but then it is London! )
My partner and I had a lovely day here , I want to thank the staff Theo and Dinesh for a warm welcome . Had a good time and enjoyed staying there . I will recommend to my friends . Definitely will be going back again soon.
I liked the hotel as it's located 15min from Heathrow airport by the Heathrow qexpress train . The express train stops at Paddington which is the central station to use the tube anywhere to access London . The hotel itself is a 3 min walk from the station and Hyde park There is a bag storage room useful if you arrive early also an express check in / check out so you don't need to waste time . The staff are very friendly and helpful . A continental buffet available for 7£/ person which is good for what they're offering . The room itself is basic expect practicality not luxury , cleanliness , tidiness, quietness , strong wifi , wifi tv , airy large window , a nice smell , comfortable bed and pillows , decent size bathroom on the smaller side , coffee and tea facilites . The value is great for this category . I am happy to visit again and would defiantly recommend it for groups , buisness , tourists ..
The receptionist told me all the information I needed for my stay . The room was very clean and tidy , private bathroom was small but ok. Continental breakfast was good but finished at 9:30 am would've preferred if it finished later. Lots of great restaurants and pubs within a walking distance. I'd highly recommend to others.
Pleasantly sized room in central London. It was very clean , quiet and comfortable . The receptionist was very friendly and helpful . Many good cafés and pubs in the vicinity Ideal for overnight and weekend stays , great value
Victorian converted buildings to a warm hotel in the heart of London Hyde park is literally a 2 min walk , lots of pubs and restaurants around as well . Room was clean , comfortable . Staff were helpful and pleasant . Value was great . It's a basic accommodation that's done really well and I would gladly stay here again .
Probably one of the best locations you can get to access London . Next to Paddington station and the beautiful Hyde park . The room size is as advertised . very clean and tidy , strong wifi , coffe and tea facility . Quiet at night so you get good sleep . N.B : Good Continental breakfast is served for £7 Excellent for business , leisure and group trips I would recommend it to everyone I know
I have stayed 3 nights in this wonderfully located hotel . Spotless room pleasantly sized with comfortable bed , pillows & good amenities The staff were friendly , helpful and attentive to your needs. Great experience for this category . Would use it again
The staff are very friendly and helpful , quick check in, location is outstanding , very close to Hyde park , good breakfast . Victorian house , Comfy bed , clean , tidy and excellent wifi . Overall the experience was great I would come here again
Clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff that comes with an excellent value for central London b&b . Bathrooms renewed , excellent wifi , tasty breakfast . I enjoyed the location , short walks to Hyde park , colicci serpentine lido , serpentine bar and kitchen , the serpentine gallery and little Venice .
With the location 3 min walk from Paddington station , tube , Hyde park makes life very easy . My room overlooked a tree lined road , weather was amazing . Hotel is very tidy and clean , breakfast is good too and Staff are super friendly and helpful . Amazing value
the bathroom was not properly cleaned before checking in despite indicating it twice as soon as i entered and after the first time they supposedly cleaned it. No drinking water was provided with the room, and the carpets look musty and dirty. overall hygiene is very poor.
Hotel was clean, staff couldnt have been more helpful, Such a fab location , with quaint pubs and cafes within a short distance close enough to Marylebone Station, Oxford Street, Theatres. very much enjoyed our stay.
Room clean and warm , staff very helpful and friendly . Close to Hyde park and Paddington station which makes it easy to access the west end . It's an amazing value/service pair , I really enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again and recommend it to others .
Located on a nice tree lined road amongst several other small hotels on either side of the road. This 45 room hotel is guest house style (like a rabbit warren), small rooms but very warm and comfortable, our king size bed was perfect for a good night sleep. Toilet and shower room was small and very tight but was to be expected for the location. Tea and coffee facilities in rooms plus good size TV. We did have to ask for some condiments and bath towels which had not been left in the room when cleaned but the staff were very prompt in supplying them. The staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly and quick at rectifying issues mentioned above. It's position only three minutes walk from Paddington Station is ideal if catching a train, there are several restaurants, pubs and cafes nearby, including our favourite ‘Ask Italian' in Spring St.
The hotel has a super location that is a 3 min walk from paddington station and Hyde park , walkable distance to main London attractions . The room i got was spotless, modernized , comfy bed , brand new Tv & excellent wifi . The rate is fantastic for the service value
Great location only a short walk to Paddington Station and amenities. Short walk to Kensington Park and The Royal Albert Hall. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Basic room but clean and comfortable
Great Location , room size as advertised , bathroom size is around 2-3 m2 , I asked for a more spacious one but was told by the reception that most rooms come more or less with the same bathroom size as the hotel buildings are converted Victorian houses and it's the same for most of the neighboring hotels . The room was spotless , bed and pillows were comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful . It's a casual service with a great value that I would use again .
Good location and, even without cooked breakfast facilities it has local cafes (Mimos cafe) that serve a good value breakfast. Very near to Paddington railway and underground stations and the Edware Road. Bathroom provision is tiny though with lack-lustre shower and serious size constraints.
I booked this hotel based on reading recent TripAdvisor reviews and pictures . What you see is what you get , no surprises . -Excellent Cleanliness , Value , Staff , Location , Wi-Fi -Good rooms size , bathroom and breakfast is “ Grab & Go “ for hygiene reasons . Ideal for corporate and casual traveling , I would use it again.
Walkable from all places and attractions , its 3 min walk to London's amazing Hyde park . The park is a piece of heaven on earth . It's also very close to the tube station , 5 pubs around the corner and dozens of restaurants . Grab and go breakfast could've been better , nothing specific to criticize , perhaps more variety ( And I understand the issues working with C19 ) The room is spotless , warm , comfortable bed , quiet and has an excellent wifi . All in all I would say I was satisfied with my experience and would use it again.
Room was dirty. Carpet had a big hole in it. Shower not clean with mold. Stained sheets. Twin beds are so close together it is almost a double. Definitely not big enough for two. Not worth the money. Room needs a good dust. Window just as dirty on the inside as out. Recption do not answer the phone when you ring them.
Nice clean room exactly as advertised , high ceiling with huge window and a decent bathroom , grab and go breakfast is ok , nice croissant . Staff are really kind , friendly and attentive . Location is fantastic .
Good location to Paddington, room was clean. VERY small and hot. A larger than average person would definitely not fit in the shower room. No sign of any breakfast. Breakfast room in darkness. No information offered from receptionist. Left sign out on first morning for room to be tidied, but this never happened. Check out was supposed to be 11am, but cleaner knocking on the door at 10am. Wouldn't recommend.
Casual clean hotel at walking distance to all main attractions. Our room on the first floor had a high ceiling , comfy bed/ pillows and a big window overlooking greenery. Lots of pubs and restaurants around as well . Would use again
Good value for money, clean basic shelter. Kind staff, very helpful and friendly. Good location near Paddington Station, easy to get to most places. Would use this hotel again. That's all I need to say. I think you'd get more people writing reviews if you lowered the 200 minimum characters.
A casual hotel with a warm atmosphere and great location for visiting London's attractions , the room is spotless , warm , cosy and the staff are very attentive and friendly . I would very much recommend this hotel for business and tourists.
Perfect hotel for a base while visiting central London, clean and spacious room, with air conditioning and everything you need while visiting a city . Reception staff can not do enough for you. Would defiantly look to stay here on my return to London.
I am really pleased with the hotel and it's location . We booked a twin room that is been recently refurbished with a nice bathroom on the ground floor , the staff were extremely pleasant and courteous . Overall a very good value and would recommend it to others .
The hotel team were very welcoming , they stored our luggage until check in time and gave us a lovely room and lots of info , It was spotless and smelling beautiful . The location is amazing it's basically 5 min from Hyde park and the main train station at Paddington .
Very clean room that had everything we needed , the hotel itself is in a great location next to Hyde park , lots of pubs and cafes around . Paddington station is a 3 min walk , Staff very helpful and friendly.
I stayed for 3 nights in a cosy single room , it is a small room but perfect for my stay as I was out most of the day. The room has cosy bathroom and a large window , small tv , excellent wifi and coffee & tea facility , a very good value too
I have booked the cosy double room no.18 on the ground floor for single use for 12 nights , it was perfect for my stay . The room had everything I needed a large window a cosy bathroom , brand new Tv with Internet facility , coffe & tea facility and what a fantastic value . Grab and go breakfast is very good too . I think that this hotel is providing an excellent service with a fantastic value in an amazing location . Best regards to Theo & the hotel team who made my stay very comfortable and I ll be coming back soon in the future
Stayed for 4 nights in December arriving Sunday 5th. Very good location. Had requested a room with a bath tub, but given room with shower only. Request had been made well before our stay -- twice. Did get moved to a room with a bath after one night. No breakfast, but got refund as we'd booked a B&B rate. A "grab & go" is not what we paid for, hence request for refund for breakfast part of our stay. No acknowledgement of our BW Rewards status / membership. Not the end of the world, but usually hotels do acknowledge membership. Bathroom in second room had lots of hot water, but a little bit more attention to cleaning would have been helpful. Staff at front desk very friendly and approachable, and did do their best to resolve issues.
An overall good stay. I was allocated a double room which was spacious and clean. The bathroom was somewhat small and perhaps the design of the skin could be changed. (I appreciate that space is at a premium in Central London). Hotel was quiet and the location was ideal. Check in process could have been slightly better. I was presented with a 4% surcharge upon check in as I booked on the Best Western website using my AMEX card. Not had this issue before. I was also charged with my AMEX upon check in, despite having booked directly on the BW website and the booking was confirmed. This was the first time I experienced such 'issues' despite being a BW Platinum member. I understand that each BW is an independent franchise, however, it's a bit cheeky having to ask guests to pay an extra % when rooms are already at a premium.
Rooms were very clean and staff was very helpful. Hotel parking available for guests car which saced us from the hassle of looking for car parks. Location was ideal to walk to Hyde park and Designers shops and Harrods . Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend .
The location is good, it is about 10 minutes walk from Hyde Park and close to Paddington Station. For London, the price was reasonable. The staff were pleasant, however the hotel is pretty grim. Breakfast is very basic, it is provided in a brown paper bag and there is nowhere to sit to eat it comfortably.
Truly enjoyed my stay at the hotel with my husband. The location is fantastic, only a few minutes walk to paddington station and the bus stops. There were lovely restaurants all around the area and the staff was very helpful to point them out for us. We were checked in at 7:00 a.m and our room was basic but clean and neat and well equipped. I stayed here before and would definitely stay there again.
Worse hotel stay ever. CAN HEAR EVERYTHING MAY AS WELL BE SLEEPING IN THE STREET. DO NOT BOOK. BED AND PILLOWS ROCK HARD. Only decent thing about the place is the station being a short walk up the road. I wish there was an option not to do a circle
having not stayed in London for a long time this trip was a short one so we drove in. Parked easily in the area which was very clean and felt safe and quiet. The hotel itself is perfectly placed for a 2min walk to the nearest underground or a stroll through hyde park. We walked to Soho which took about half an hour through marble arch, along bond street. Room was quiet and not too warm - small but perfectly formed with a very comfortable bed. As a low cost base to explore central London this is probably one of the best. Only aspect that wasn't great was the grab and go breakfast - BUT - nothing wrong with it in and of itself. Nice croissant's and jam (with plastic knife) / fruit / yogurt / cheese? / bottle of water - tough to do if you are driving!
I arrived at the hotel at 8.30 am , the room was ready and didn't need to wait till check in and was upgraded to a double room . I was really happy to stay at hotel - great staff . Would definitely come back again .
This is my second stay here , surely very stressful and challenging times and despite all what's going on , the people here are reassuring me , and doing an excellent job , hygiene level is great . Thank you guys keep it up .
After one night we informed them our cold water tap at the basin was running warm, when we went back up to our room that afternoon nothing had changed. I soon had a phone call about this and they offered us another room - which had no problems and was actually bigger. Occasionally the lift didn't work and the taps in the toilets down near the breakfast room didn't work either. The elevator isn't actually on the same level as the floor you're on either so you will still have to carry your luggage up some steps. A bar fridge would've been nice to have too. Room for improvement, but okay.
Stayed here for 1 night 31st January and cannot fault the hotel bed was comfy got a good nights sleep despite a few drinks that night, shower was working well and breakfast good but maybe more hot foods would be better. Location is good only a minute or two from Paddington so cannot fault it one bit.
Stayed overnight for recent theatre trip to London. Great location, excellent pub, the Victoria, just round corner which does great food so didn't matter that there was no bar or restaurant in the hotel. All hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly and rooms very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast is available but we didn't fancy that so popped over to nearby cafe for bacon and eggs before checking out. Very pleasant stay and would use again.
Clean moderate size room with good breakfast , location is excellent close to all attractions , sites and city center ,Staff was very friendly and had a nice sense of humor o Would visit again , well ,price too
Excellent friendly staff , committed to facilitating your stay . I appreciated very much their politeness and sense of humor which made this place special in many ways ... Other than that the hotel was good re: room size , bathroom size , breakfast , value .. etc I will come back to stay here again in the future .
Again very convenient stay , the greenery and short walk to Hyde park makes all the difference . 5 min walk from Bakerloo line which goes to regents park ( London Zoo ) . Professional customer service and nice continental breakfast . Will visit again !
I must admit, I am impressed with the character, charm and friendliness of the Queensway hotel. The location is excellent, the room was spacious and the bathroom while on the smaller side was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. This stay was excellent value. I highly recommend for couples looking to explore London.
We stayed in a nice spacious room on the ground floor (11) . The bedroom was crystal clean supe tidy , very nice smell @ the bathroom with nice skylight , excellent WiFi , brand new Tv & Lots of tea and coffee. Continental Breakfast with multiple variety @ excellent price . The staff was amazing , extra helpful and friendly . Also the deal we booked was amazing , location is superb too .. Overall Excellent hotel @ great value .
We got a Spacious family room on the 4th floor , Very clean with a window overlooking green gardens . Cool smart Tv and excellent WiFi. Good breakfast . Staff recognized us from our previous visit last April with warm greetings which made us comfortable and felt very homey . Again our overall stay was excellent .
There were more cons than pros to this hotel, in fact the only pro was its location and since its one of literally 20+ hotels in that area, not even that can count. Con1-four floors of room w/ an elevator that only goes to 3 Con2-no "dont disturb signs" which meant housekeeping knocked on the door every day asking if i wanted the room cleaned Con3-wifi, it went out no less than 2 times a night when i used it, every night/ Con4- the fact that there are more cons that i can list, but these were the biggest and most annoying as they ranged from easy to impossible to correct.
Charming little hotel situated in the heart of London, just a few minutes away from Oxford St. and Hyde Park ! Our room was clean and our sleep was quite comfortable and fast free WiFi was a bonus! In the morning, my husband and I had a nice breakfast consisting of warm toast, cheese, eggs, fresh fruit and cereals and were greeted by friendly staff. Overall our stay was pleasant, good value for price and we would come back again:)
If you're looking for a nice quaint place to stay while visiting London, Pick this hotel. Great staff, close to all major transportation, (Underground, Paddington Station, Hyde Park...ect) The Tube Station around the corner only takes 13 minutes with one small transfer, to Victoria Station, where a short 5 minute walk will find you at Buckingham Palace. Abbey Road is 1.5 miles away, and a very nice walk.
Next to Hyde park .. walking distance from Winter Wonderland Room very comfortable and clean with strong WiFi .a very good price - Amazing Staff We would defiantly stay here gain for so many reasons . In Love with London ❤
Very good accommodation and breakfast , super clean and comfortable . Plenty of pubs and restaurants near the hotel , Paddington station is a 3 min walk too. We had a lovely time here and would consider staying again . Tip : Book early for better deals
It's very basic, simple and warm hotel clearly as advertised . It's location ,cleanliness and price make it very special so I intend to stay again in case of visiting central London , wonderful city and experience !
If you're visiting Central London up to a week then this is the place . Convenient on all levels . Value , Airports , public transportation, staff , breakfast , comfort , rooms , bathrooms , cleanliness , wonderland , pubs , restaurants , etc ..... Check the pictures before you book .
We had a very nice time staying at the Queensway. The room was very clean and neat. Breakfast has a selection, the location is perfect and just a few minutes from Paddington. The hotel staff were friendly and helped us out with everything. We would specially like to thank Tio for his warmth. We would definitely come back.
Let's start with the positive aspects: the convenient location at Paddington Station and Hyde Park and friendly staff. Neagative Aspects: the small room on the 4th floor with a bed against the sloping roof wall, a mini bathroom, a non-working safe and another guest's entrance during the night to which they had obviously provided the same key card, spoon and cups not particularly clean, non-adjustable heating with thermostat.
Just used the room ( 108 ) for sleeping as I was out all day . The sleeping experience was great , strong shower , very clean , plenty of tea and coffee sachets , strong Wifi ,Good breakfast. I would recommend it for business travelers , For that price in this location.
On the plus side, it's cheap, close to Paddington station, the room was clean and the staff were sort of friendly. On the minus (described in order of appearance): 1. Lift doesn't go to all floors, especially the 4th floor - you need to take it to 3, then climb up a way narrow and tall staircase with your suitcase. I can't even start to imagine how someone less able-bodied would do this. 2. The room doesn't have an air condition, or I didn't find it (it has, wait for it... an old style desk fan to compensate. The 80's are back!) So while this is England, and November temps doesn't really call for an aircon, I guess people come here in the summer as well. 3. The room does have a heater, but guess who controls it? The guys in the lobby... When you want to ask them to switch it on, you find out there is no phone in the room, so you need to run downstairs and then up again every time it is off (go back to item 1 about the lift). 5. and then you try to use the toilette... just to find out that above the toilette they have installed... the SINK! so that when you sit on the toilette the sink hits your chest. Read a book or use your laptop while on the toilette? oh! that sink again! but well... I guess it's better not to sit there for long, so that arrangement has it's health benefits. Overall, thank god I'm only staying here one night. But hey, it's London, what an amazing city.
This hotel is at an excellent location, very close to Hyde Park and the Paddington station, from where you can go easily anywhere. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The rooms are warm but relatively small and the bathrooms are small too. Even that it is a 3 star hotel, there are some points that they could easy fixed with no or very little cost. Breakfast is very poor [there is no meat at all] even thought they call it continental. Shampoo at the bathroom is packed at those very old fashioned sacks (you will need at least 2 days of use to understand where and how they open). Soap is not included at bathroom !!. Forget any other kind of room / bathroom amenities. There is a boiler for coffee at the room, but the personnel does not recover / refill the point with new coffee sacks every day. The personnel at the restaurant are immigrants (no problem with this) and they speak out loud at their own language during the serving time, they do not wear any kind of a formal work uniform for the place and the worst of all they wear the clothes they came from their homes / outside (and it seemed to me that they also do the rooms housekeeping with the same clothes too!!). They also eat breakfast among the client's tables during the service time. The bed sheets are not changed as soon / often as they should be. They do not mop the bathroom daily. The personnel at the reception and especially those at evening and night shifts are at least amateur (except one person who seems to be the chief receptionist and he is formally dressed and very very polite, helpful and professional). Easy and very low cost issues to fix (some training also ??). I would certainly think twice to stay again to this hotel and that's just because of the fine location.
So many mid-range London hotels are shabby and poor quality. This one was comfortable, clean, well staffed and with a professional atmosphere throughout. Breakfast is continental but good quality and plentiful. Staff were great.
A very nice hotel located at one of the most central areas in central London , 5 min from Paddington station . The en-suite comfort level was excellent , super duper clean . Basic continental breakfast at a great price Overall the Value was fantastic , and I would highly recommend it to others .
I was skeptical when booking at first as I found a 3 night deal with the first night for 38£ including breakfast . As I arrived check in was fast , the room was literally spotless, bathroom smelled very nice too, overall the room was very comfortable and i had a very good night sleep. Staff were very helpful and pleasant as well . I would recommend this hotel to anyone specially for this wonderful deal , it reminded me of Easyjet crazy deals back in the 90's .
I read a lot about the location of this hotel but really didn't expect that it would be so close to the Hyde park . I didn't have any breakfast as I prefer it cooked and they only do continental . The room was comfortable and spotless and the deal was great , I booked again a great deal next January
I love London in the fall and the hotel was very relaxed and practicle. The neighbourhood has a lot of green spaces, I enjoyed going for walks around the hotel. The room was as in the pictures exactly . Cozy sized room and bathroom , very clean and comfortable with a nice Tv and fast Wifi, also tea and coffee machine. Overall its good value for money and I would go again when I visit London.
Left notes in our reservation about the possibility of an early check in (1200) but when we arrived, were told to come back at 1400, which we did. Got a room up on the top floor, which requires bringing your luggage up the stairs of the last floor, through a very narrow passageway. Upon entering the room, were met with a very strange smell (sewer gas?) which was not pleasant. Came back down and informed the front desk, he said we are out of luck, they are fully booked. We said we wanted to talk to the manager, front desk guy said maybe he had something else, but we needed to retrieve our luggage and bring it back down, which we did. After working with other guests, front desk guy finally has another room for us, which requires another trudge up the stairs. This room is tiny, but it doesn't smell. At this point, we're thinking we'd better take it. Despite the bad first impression, everything else here is just OK, but would never recommend this place to anyone.
Really excellent staff, very clean and comfortable hotel. Great location near Paddington and Bakerloo line. Location is quiet, breakfast is good. The staff are fabulous and went out of their way to help during my stay.
Comfortable room , location with this price , service & breakfast - could be briefed in one word : Excellent . I thank very much the Queensway's Staff for making my stay so pleasurable , visiting soon again with more people .
I liked the hotel , the rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and clean . Staff was very friendly and had a nice sense of humor , Continental breakfast with limited variety but good - with excellent price of 5£ . Location and price are magnificent , would visit again .
The location is excellent, the room and bathroom are medium in size but very clean and comfortable. We did not buy breakfast as we prefer to try the breakfast in new places rather than the hotel. The price is excellent .
Very well located , 5 min from the train station that is connected to Heathrow airport by a 15 min train . Comfortable clean room , friendly staff small reception with a sitting area , budget continental breakfast #TouristHotel#GreatValue
In need of modernisation, the rooms especially the bathroom were very tired and basic. Our room was adequate for a free one night stay as I used reward points but I wouldn't stay again. The area looked very nice and underground very near.
Very cozy English hotel that i fell in love with. Pure English experiencem rooms not too large but not too small. Bathroom was ok, breakfast ok, Location is 99%, price value 99%. Special thanks to Theo (thumbs up) would like to visit in the future.
Location was epic- very comfortable stay in a clean and modern double room- Breakfast offered ample choices served by friendly and helpful staff. Overall experience was very pleasant, would definitely revisit again.
Charming English style hotel situated in an ideal location in the midst of gorgeous London city. All bedrooms are designed to accommodate one, two or three adults comfortably, while the decor is simple and spotless. All bedding is very comfortable and bathrooms equipped with all basic needs .The hotel reception though small, radiates a comfortable and friendly space where you can hang out and plan your day's itinerary with your family or friends. And then the highlight of this Hotel is it's lovely friendly and helpful staff dedicated to help you with everything you need and commuted to make your stay as pleasant as possible. You would also enjoy a varied and quite filling breakfast every morning in the breakfast room in this lovely Hotel .Located in a safe neighbourhood with lots of shops and small restaurants and only two blocks from Hyde Park , about 1.5 km from Oxford Street for shopping . It is a few minutes walk to Paddington Station were you get on the Bakeloo line so easy to access the West End for theatres , the London Eye and the National Gallery and of course the train from Heathrow goes to Paddington so easy transit access to and from airport . Overall my stay there was great and I would definitely revisit again!
The location is so good, I walked to Piccadilly Circus, Leicester square. Spotless room with comfy duvets, Bathroom with plenty of towels, soap & Shampoo , staff was very helpful and smily, a lot of young crowd there so it feels very alive and the price was amazing .
I had a complimentary upgrade from single to double to make my stay more comfortable , I really appreciate the kindness and the superb attitude from Theo at the reception . I liked the TV in my spotless room it was very modern .I am looking forward to visit London again and stay at the beautiful Queensway
A Discovery Hotel that offered me a magnificent location with a great value , plus very nice rooms with varied continental breakfast, I wouldn't think twice before I choose somewhere else for my next stay in this Lovely city. Thank you to the staff for looking after us.
Great location, very central in the city. Such a pleasant, homey hotel with lovely staff, super clean rooms and breakfast with lots of variety. Everything was great and if I ever come back to London I would definitely stay here again!
I am writing this review as I was extremely satisfied from the super nice treatment that I had at this lovely Queensway , the deal that I had was amazing . 100% I will be staying here again in all my future visits , I would recommend it to all my family and friends .
A City Center Hotel planted between the trees , next to Marble Arch, Oxford street, Hyde park , etc... considered what I have learned to be a Typical Victorian English hotel , very clean , super cozy I would recommend to London first timers and families for its Location, service and Value.
I have been staying in this hotel in the last 30yrs, it is all about location location, few minutes walk from the Paddington train station, close to a many restaurants in Paddington, clost to London underground and buses to central London, I can go on and on. The best part about this hotel is its staff, so friendly and charming, and this management know how to retain its staff, I have seen some staff there in the last 15yrs, so I really feel like going home when I stay at this lovely Queensway Hotel.
Small rooms, poor breakfast and no air conditioning. Also not able to produce a vat receipt. Is that even legal? 2nd time I've stayed I a best western hotel and 2nd time I've submitted a negative review
We booked this accommodation based on Tripadvisor reviews and it was as expected. Great location with lots of restaurants and pubs around , express check in and check out , very clean room almost spotless , comfortable bedding , tea and coffee available in the room , very good staff , great money value , we wish we stayed more .. next time .
All rooms are not with AC so confirm before booking...as lift was not working since 1 month and that makes more terrible in the stay...will not recommend the hotel.. even the break fast staff is hiding falour yogurts....not good experience
Loved it ❤ , very cozy casual Victorian hotel in city center London . I have been really impressed with the level of cleanliness plus the extra friendly service .. I would recommend it for everyone that I know for it's high efficiency and great value .
Very nice area for accomodation, the staff were helpful and helped us with all our bookings, the room was very clean and the breakfast continental varied , would consider staying here again if we visit central London in the near future ..
Medium size room , Nice staff , good price , 2 min away from the Big bus sightseeing booth which is in front of the hotel on the other side of the road , Nice restaurant close by called San Marco . A lot of Hookah places 5 min walk from the hotel.
I had a fantastic time with my friends here in London and this hotel is exactly what we needed , Super location , very close to the railway station , baggage storage at early check in and late check out , simple modern clean rooms and extra friendly staff .. The stay was excellent and would come here back again .
