    « A total nightmare! »

The hotel is a 4* hotel which is great and actually when we arrived it looked just like the photos and it was great, but from the moment they gave us the keys it was a disaster. I was travelling with my mother and she can't move one area so I was carrying all the bags, and the guy in reception said to take the stairs down to our room instead of pointing to the elevator next to reception!! Ok it can be an honest mistake, but then when we arrived to the room: surprise! We were given a room in the basement!! Where I honesty believe the employees sleep, the room was so small my mom and myself couldn't stand up both at the same time. The window was closed obviously because we were in the basement. It was very noisy as we were next to all the pumps/ventilators of the hotel. The shower only had really hot water during the night, the safe didn't work and I didn't feel safe at all leaving my things there in a basement room. When I told the girl in reception the next day about the shower and the safe she was very arrogant saying that we didn't know how to use it (her name is Dovile). Luckily we only stayed for 2 nights and really I won't ever come back. Really worst experience ever, I believe you should include a comment while you reserve stating that you might get this horrible room, if I had for sure I would have never come to this hotel. The rest of the hotel was great, I think it was only our room but really you should clarify when a person books the rooms. Eli

« Great location for a quick visit to London »

I arrive on Sunday after many flight hours and a long train journey. The room was ready clean and well prepared and decorated. The staff was ready to help me and solve all my inquiries. The breakfast hour is great from 7:30 to 11:00 the day I stayed that was bank holiday. Internet connection is stable and easy to access, video calls work fine. The checkout was fast and all the personnel is nice and friendly. Totally recommended because is very close to all services.

« Great hotel for vacation »

Room was very nice, spacious and clean. We were able to check in right away and get started with our vacation in London. The front desk employees always greeted us with a smile and made sure to ask if we needed anything. The breakfast room downstairs was perfect. Quick bite to eat before leaving the hotel each morning really helped to start our mornings the right way. Everything from the bread, to the pastries, to the freshly made eggs with all the sides were fresh and delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! The location is right on the opposite side of Hyde Park and within reasonable walking distances to all the "must see" attractions in London. Great restaurants just a few blocks down from the hotel to grab some lunch/dinner before returning to the hotel for the night. No complaints to speak of. We look forward to booking with Best Western Mornington again soon.

    « Excellent service »

We had a business trip and stayed at this hotel. First of all, it was easy to communicate and deal all the details before it. And after all, colleagues were happy about pleasant and helpful service during the stay. All the best wishes to Dovile!

« Good value for money »

Good size room compared to the normal sizes of London hotels. Nice recently refurbished bathroom and a good selection in their breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly. Only complaint is that the madress could use a replacement.

    « A lovely hotel »

This hotel is perfectly located for a visit to Central London, with easy access to and from both Gatwick and Heathrow airports and Victoria or Paddington railway stations. Bus stop and the Underground is right there at Lancaster Gate, so a lot of tourist attractions and the shopping streets are just a few minutes away. We stayed for a week in January and had a good time. This hotel has such a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Staff was friendly and professional, everyone seemed dedicated to giving their guests the best service possible. The room was a bit small maybe, but spotlessly clean, nice and comfortably warm. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices. As the hotel is an old building, do not expect the walls to be sound-proof. You might hear a little bit of traffic from the outside, and some of the other hotel guests from the inside, from time to time. (Bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper.) But then, with Hyde Park almost right across the street, you can also get to hear a starling sing outside your window on a sunny morning. A lovely place to stay when visiting London!

    « I would definitely come back »

I had a single room for one night without breakfast, and I slept very well . The streets were quiet but in a good way, and the hotel is near to the underground, as well as being pretty central. Hyde Park is well worth a wander. The reception staff were very nice, which I suppose shouldn't make such a difference, but does. The room was pleasant too, and would have been easy to work in. I would definitely recommend.

    « Shame »

Last time I stayed here the hotel used a food delivery service so i could order when i arrived at 2am. But now they don't and no-where is open in the area, so i went to bed hungry :( Please re-instate!

Friendly staff, nice room, good facilities, decent breakfast. Would be happy to use again. Hotel is very close to tube station (Lancaster Gate) and near to Italian Gardens which are nice to walk around.

    « Amazing stay! »

This boutique hotel is ideally located within walking distance to many of London's best attractions.Bus stops and tube station are very close. My single ensuite room was bigger than any other rooms in London hotels.Very well decocarated, with many facilities to make my stay more comfortable. And as it was snowing, very cold outside,my room was really warm.Rich buffet breakfast is served in a nice, spacious room. Staff is polite and helpful.

    « Location »

This is a good hotel for solo travelers. It is close to Lancaster Gate tube....across the street from Hyde Park and a short walk to Kensington. Hotel staff is great! So helpful and wanted to make sure your stay was a good one. The only down is the noise level. You hear everyone walking the halls and on the floor above you.

    4
    « Comfortable stay »

Hotel very handy for Lancaster Gate tube station. Plenty of restaurants around. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on food. Room was well decorated but no much room if 2 of you sharing.

« Good location, safe and value for money »

We stayed in Best Western Mornington Hotel London Hyde Park from March 10-15 , 2018. It was close to underground and Paddington . Getting from Heathrow was easy also using the express train. The room we were in was facing the street, but was quiet even when the window was open. Room had good AC and worked properly until the last day, We had breakfast included in our booking, and it was good. the staffs are very friendly. We were out early morning and back to sleep, as we had a lot to see in five days. Over all very good value for the money and has good sleeping accommodations. For sure we will stay again in this hotel.

    « Handy Hotel »

Great hotel for easy access to underground, buses, restaurants and pubs. We had tickets to Royal Albert Hall and a 10 minute walk across Hyde Park took us straight there. Hotel is very clean and comfortable with excellent buffet breakfast.

    « Our annual trip »

We always stay at the Mornington when we go to the Albert Hall (usually just once a year). We have known it since it was VERY Swedish which was more years ago than we care to remember. It always seems full of tourists which is probably because of its central location near Hyde Park. Rooms are comfortable and staff are very friendly. This year we admired the new chairs in the bar which really liven up the place and are more comfortable than the previous stools and chairs. We only stay B & B but there are bar meals available at a reasonable price if you want. Breakfast has all you could want - Full English or a fairly wide variety of cold meats, cheeses and salad bit like cucumber and tomato. There are also assorted pastries and croissants plus bread and associated toaster. The attentive staff are always checking and refreshing the food so you rarely find an item missing. If I had to mark the place down it would be that the fruit salad is out of a tin but given the breakfast turnover this is probably their easiest option.

« Very pleasant overnight stay with great breakfast! »

Good location near Lancaster Gate tube and Marble Arch/Hyde Park. Arrived late and was well received - room well-appointed and clean with good facilities. Slight issue was the tiny bath and low shower which I had to duck down to use! Good toiletries, free bottled water etc all a nice touch. I aksed for a quiet room and though this was away from the front there was a lrge fan outide which disturbed a bit - earplugs again! Great suasages and continental options for breakfast - good coffee.

« The hotel is with a very friendly and caring staff »

The hotel is with a very friendly and caring staff, in a very good location, clean with decent breakfast. It worked very well for me and with very attractive price. Dovile did excellent job to make me feel very welcomed. I was very positively surprised.

« Weekend Stay At The Mornington Hotel, Lancaster Gate (first visit) »

We were taking a short break in London for a birthday treat. We have stayed in many Best Western properties around the country and abroad and have always enjoyed the individual style and service we have received. We had also enough BW points for a free night so decided to use them on our trip. We contacted BW direct and were helped find a suitable hotel, close to where we wanted to be, by a very helpful young American. He arranged for the first and more expensive night to be free and got us a 10% discount on the second. A whole weekend in London for under £100.00! Great. The hotel didn't have any of its own parking so we organised that through 'Just Park'. We found the hotel without any problems, dropped off our luggage and took the car to our parking spot. We walked back to the hotel and checked in. As we had arranged some activities for the following day we checked what time breakfast was and how much it would cost. We were told the times and that breakfast was included in our reservation. Great we thought and went to our room. The rooms are on the small side but adequate, ours only had a shower so we asked if they had one with a bath. They have very few rooms with baths so make sure you ask before you book. The room was next to the lift so some noise from passers-by unfortunately, otherwise it was fine. The supply a mobile phone to use whilst there but we didn't really need this. I'm sure it would be really useful if you are travelling from abroad - save on roaming charges etc. The bed was firm and comfortable but unfortunately, if you sit up to read or watch TV in bed then you could find yourself moving away from the wall as the bed doesn't have a headboard, just the wall and the two aren't fixed together. Breakfast the following morning was served in a basement room and the attendant made each party sign in before being seated. When we arrived, we were asked if we had breakfast vouchers. We had no idea what she meant so we said breakfast was included in our booking. She was happy with that and took us to a table. Breakfast is buffet style with a limited choice of cooked English or continental breakfast with a range of toast and breads and fruit available too. If you're looking for a full English then you will be sadly disappointed as the bacon is only streaky, there are no mushrooms or fried bread or hash browns. But what is available is unlimited, so you can help yourself to as much as you want. They also offer some ?made to order' breakfast items such as omelette, but don't expect anything that isn't listed on the menu as there is a language issue and some things get lost in translation. We asked for some back bacon rather than streaky and a slice of fried bread but just got some well cooked streaky and bread that had been shown to the frying pan very briefly. After breakfast we went to reception to see if we could swap rooms to one with a bath for our second night. Reception said they would see what we could do whilst we were out and we set out. We got back at around 5pm and checked with reception about the room with the bath. We were told that no notes had been made about the request and that if they had found a room we needed to have had all our things packed before going out in the morning. We hadn't been told this and were naturally annoyed that our request appeared to have been ignored. Fortunately, the evening receptionist was more professional and found a suitable room and showed it to us. We went upstairs, packed and moved within a few minutes. The second room was also by the lift but as it was ground floor there was a lot more traffic and therefore noise, though it wasn't as bad as it might have been as the bathroom was between the room and the lift. The following morning, we went for breakfast and again told the waiter we had breakfast included and were seated without comment. As this was our last day, we packed and went to reception to checkout and were told we needed to pay £60.00 for breakfast! Obviously this was a shock, having been told it was included. We were then informed that we should have bought breakfast vouchers when we booked in that would have reduced the cost to £10.00 from £15.00 per head. At no time where we offered this as we had been told that breakfast was in our package so I would advise you to double check what is and isn't included prior to arrival and go for the vouchers if you decide to eat in. Anyway, we asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation. She asked us to send her an email and we are pleased to say the charges were cancelled by her without any argument and offered us complimentary breakfast next time we stayed. Had we paid full price (£300.00+ for a weekend) we would have been very disappointed with this hotel. It doesn't live up to the standards of many of the other BW hotels we have stayed in, a little too modern and corporate for our taste. It had a bar but no restaurant for the evening, no parking and no views to speak of. Saying that, this is London and the location is great, within walking distance of Lancaster Gate, Queensway and Bayswater Tube stations and Paddington Mainline Station, close to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park and many other tourist attractions. Overall a reasonable hotel if you just need somewhere to sleep whilst seeing the sights but not luxurious by any means. Probably wouldn't go back for anything other than a short break.

« Warm Service! and Very Friendly Staff »

Family of 3 (21 months toddler) Dovile and her team has been great. From the minute we arrived and the time we checked out. The hotel is very close to a train station. Given the price of hotels in london Best Western is good value for money.

    « It was okay »

It was enough for 3 night. We get check in late because the room was not ready. Small room and quite dark. Staff was great. Near to hyde park and lancaster gate underground. Walking distance to Oxford street.

    « Really good »

Quite nice rooms, nice bath and okay beds. Nice area close to Ken Gardens and tube. Good breakfast with better bread than cheaper hotels. Free newspapers and fitness. Though: A bit disappoiting that there's no mini bar.

    « Theatre Grannies »

This is our second visit to the Mornington. Lovely welcoming hotel. Good location for shopping, and theatres a tube ride away. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, lots to choose from. We will be back in a few months to this hotel as it's convenient for away weekend grannies!

« A nice relaxing place in a very central location »

I stayed at this place for one night, easy to find and close to the underground stop Lancaster Gate. The Hyde Park is just next door which is very convenient for a nice morning walk. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A little mix up with the rooms on arrival but the nice lady from reception who had checked me in solved the issue within minutes. The hotel has a small gym with a treadmill, a cross trainer and an exercise bike. All in all a lovely place with a cosy little bar area and all managed by friendly and smiling staff - great!

    « Over priced!!! »

Me and my partner have traveled the world and as you can see I have given ALOT of reviews and very rarely are they poor reviews unless warranted. Sadly on this occasion I feel hard done by. We book a standard double for two nights to visit Camden and royal Albert hall so location wise very convenient. There is a bar directly behind the hotel which was also a plus. At check in we was told we were given an upgrade.... I was little surprised because we paid £110 a night instead of the normal £175/£195 advertised most places because we booked in advance. We were given a ground floor room with no view out the windows directly next to the lift door. The room was clean and tidy so no complaints but at first I struggled to see the upgrade feature, my Mrs pointed out it might be the extra bed in the room! For me it's a bed and shower for the night so wasn't concerned. That was until 0600-0900 the following morning everyone is coming for there breakfasts!!! I heard everyone life story as they were going up and down in the lift with no consideration to our room. We also had the noise of the sewage and shower down pipe above the door so could here everything coming down the pipe work. So for once in my life I complained! I explained the situation and asked what my upgrade was and she said it was an upgrade to a family room! I didn't plan on adopting a child for my two nights stay! I asked to be moved. Which they agreed to. Only this time it was one floor up and guess what next to lift again!!!! This room had a small door which was adjacent to next door room and we could here every word and noise coming from next door. Shocking! When I checked out no one asked how my stay was, probably a good job really! I feel the hotel knew they had paying customers that paid a lot more then us and put us in the worse room as lowing paid customers. I work in the merchant navy and I have to say I get a better sleep onboard in a force 10 5m swell with a life jacked under my mattress to stop me falling out then I did at this hotel! The first room is number 11 and the next room was 109 so be warned!!! And to be honest I'd use the holiday inn and premier inn at half the price next time this is not a luxury hotel at all and overpriced massively!!! Like I say it takes a lot for me to write a bad reviews if you look at my reviews but please stay well clear of this hotel.... unless you have money to waste. Shame on you best western NEVER again

« Great location, great value »

I stayed in this hotel for one night in a single room. I arrived late at night and as I walked in the reception staff greeted me by name. I asked was I the last to check in and they said the second to last bit still it was a nice touch. The reception as clean, modern and welcoming. My check in swift and easy. I went straight to bed. I was surprised what a decent sized room it was for a single room. The bathroom as also a decent sized. The shower was big and really powerful. The room was a little chilly but it had the facility to increase the temperature. The bed was comfortable but the pillows weren't great. The room has a flat screen tv and a free phone that you can take out and use in the city which is brilliant for overseas guests. The hotel was really close to Hyde park and Lancaster Gate tube station and a short walk to the shops of oxford street. All in all this is a great little find, great value for such a central location.

« You get what you pay for »

Pros: 1 - Relatively cheap for a London hotel 2 - Location is nice - Lancaster Gate station is about 200 meters away, Hyde Park is literally a street away, and on a nice day, you can walk to Marble Arch/Oxford Street. There's also a laundromat behind the hotel, and if you walk further back, there are a few restaurants and some money changers (important!) who give good rates. 3. Breakfast buffet is worth it. A lot of choices and you can order stuff from the menu too. Cons: 1. The rooms are small. As in really really small. We only managed to fully open one of our full-sized suitcases. 2. The rooms could also use some refurbishing. They look old and dated (although they were clean)

    5
« Great place for a good price, excellent service »

I stayed in a double room for 4 nights. Everything was clean and good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good as well. Location is very convenient, only 5 minutes from metro station, next to the Hyde Park. Perfect!

« Excellent stay loved it »

Had a smooth check in. Staff was very friendly, politely and supportive for e everything. Silvio and Dovile went out of their way to make sure I had a very comfortable stay, specially since I was feeling very cold. Excellent location, peaceful, just across Hyde Park with Lancaster Gate station 2 min walk and a grocery store 1 min walk. Edgware Road is just 10 to 15 min walk. Reasonable price of the room and breakfast variety was good too. Would love to stay again.

    « Wouldn't Recommend »

Very unhelpful and wooden reception staff with issue at check in ( CC print for security) followed by being given wrong room with suggestion that nothing could be done when challenged. Not even convinced that alternative was what we paid for (would like to see range of rooms that qualify for executive status). Much could have been avoided if they cared. Must give them credit for trying when they offered a loyalty card application form on check out.

    « London stay »

Me and my partner stayed between Christmas and new year (late review). First impressions it looked very welcoming, Arriving in the hotel, we wasn't shown where anything was or told about any facilities we was only pointed in the direction of our room, which didn't help when trying to find breakfast the next morning.. Our room was small, basic, suitable if you're not going to stay in it long basically.. tiny wardrobe, marks on walls, big black stain on the curtain, cold, - we didn't even unpack, we left our clothes in our suitcase. In the room, swiftly out to go have a walk round oxford street. Main reason for the trip was winter wonderland!! Defiantly worth a visit! After a lovely evening, we decided to walk back to the hotel, shattered we decided to have an early night. Waking up at 6.30 in the morning shivering as it was so cold in our room, after putting a few layers on we swiftly went for breakfast as we were already awake we didn't want to waste no time in getting back in the centre and enjoying our last day before our train home. Stood waiting 10 minutes to be seated when there was only 2 other people sat in the breakfast area (after we found it) Finally seated asked if we wanted tea or coffee ect, got those waited 10 minutes for lady to bring milk that never came, so decided to get up myself and look for some, by then our coffees were luke warm, food was ok, variety good. Back to the room, still freezing, couldn't even shower the bathroom was like being on the Antarctic, also there was no blind on the shower window, only frosted glass, baring in mind the was a seating area the other side of the window, our siloet would clearly of been seen, embarrassing! Left, checked out by half 8/9ish. At check out, the receptionist asked if we enjoyed our stay, so I said how cold our room was that morning, for then another receptionist who was not dealing with me butted in and was very rude! I didn't bother explaining any of the other issues because I felt like I would have been wasting my time with her snotty responses. I have worked and currently work in a hotel myself, so I know the standards. However, luckily the manger was there at the time and offered us her card, very politely apologised and offered up a discount to stay again. Once Home, we opened the invoice to find we didn't have our invoice but an invoice of someone who is due to stay in April. I rang the hotel to check that the correct amount was taking from us from our stay, which the receptionist didn't apologies after I explained the reason for checking. Luckily the right amount was paid, but I did contact the manager to express my problems with our stay, and declined her offer for discount to stay again as we won't be ever. The manger was very helpful and delt with the situation in a polite and professional manner. However she did say that in fact our heater in our room was broken! On a hole, London was amazing, hotel needs improvements on customer service and tidy up of the rooms. Only good thing about this hotel is the location!

    3
    « No refrigerator »

Hotel was okay. Clean room, friendly and nice workers. No refrigerator in my room though which I thought was weird. No pancakes on their breakfast menu. And you can't do take aways if you're running late for work because they don't have takeaway plates.

    4
« Clean, comfortable and friendly staff »

The hotel is located very near to Tube station and not far from the Paddington Station. The decoration is modern and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We booked single rooms, which were at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The mattress was very firm though comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. It has air con which would be ideal in summer. Room was very clean. It has a free mobile phone in the room for guests to use and take out which is a very good idea. But I would imagine, if the phone was stolen, damaged or lost, the guest would be liable for the cost. Breakfast was good though the black budding was over cooked. Two small issues in the single room were, there weren't enough sockets for the TV and the kettle. So every time you want to put the kettle on, you have to unplug the TV. The second issue was there was no shaver socket in the shower room. The extractor fan was very efficient. All in all a lovely hotel to stay.

« Basic but ok, check for charges after you leave »

Basic hotel in a central location. The room was clean. We were unhappy that charges for breakfasts that we didn't have were made to our account 2 days after leaving. I am currently waiting for this to be resolved.

    « Highly recommended »

A one night stop, I would like to have stayed longer. Friendly welcome, room upgraded to an executive suite with breakfast included at no extra cost. Room is on 2 levels with bathroom and living area downstairs with the bedroom on a mezzanine. Excellent decor and immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend The Mornington for a stay in London, perfectly situated adjacent to Hyde Park.

« Some things in life can be so simple... »

The hotel is very well run and clean, the breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. We visit every month on business and this place has become a firm favourite. The people working here are a real credit to the management !

« Comfortable and Friendly service »

Excellent hotel. Great location. My daughter had her 13th birthday at the hotel. Very clean and well organised. The girls had a wonderful time. All the staff were polite and friendly and very helpful. Special mention to the hotel manager Dovile for the excellent service, and very professional, who is there to help when you needed her. Food was delicious. Would highly recommended for a small party.

    « Elizabeth »

Most conveniently situated for London Underground, and buses into Central London. Across the road from Hyde Park, and the Round Pond. All the staff that we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, whether on reception, housekeeping or dining room. The room was warm and clean with a comfortable bed, and excellent shower in the bathroom, with great towels. The breakfast was the usual hotel breakfast as self service, with plenty of coffee or tea served by the helpful staff. We had a most enjoyable three night stay.

    « Loved It! »

Stayed here three nights, arriving 7 January 2018. Given room 316. Wonderful experience from start to finish. Friendly helpful staff, comfortable clean room, and huge breakfast selection. Will definitely use again if in that area, especially as so easy to get to many of London's landmarks from here.

« Excellent hotel in a superb location. »

We received a very warm and friendly welcome. Our room was very comfortable with all the facilities that one would require. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. The buffet spread catered for all tastes and diets and the service was very efficient. We had a very nice waitress from Mongolia...very good. There were even fresh oranges to squeeze to make your own pure juice. We will certainly return and recommend it tothose that read this review.

    « Fantastic location »

A wonderful boutiqueish hotel. The staff were so helpful when I asked for directions. They printed out explicit directions for us which was a great help. Everything was super clean. Very close to an underground station and Hyde park. Away from the bustle of inner London but in a vey elegant area without the high costs

« Good location, friendly staff »

A hotel with good location if you want to live close to almost everything. There is a underground station close to the hotel that is connected to the central line. Other wise you can take a 15 min walk and you are right on the beginning of Oxford street. I really think the breakfast was worth paying for, they have everything you need for a good start of the day. Really nice staff working at the breakfast buffet! A quiet area for good night sleep but would really liked the bed to be more comfortable.

As I have reported previously this hotel is average and room 302 was exceptionally claustrophobic. The bed was up against a wall with no shelf or table to have a bedside light or anywhere to put your water or glasses etc. I had to disturb my partner in the middle of the night so he could put on a light for me to find my way to the bathroom.

    « Lovely modern hotel »

I booked to stay at this hotel through booking.com. It was inbetween Victoria Coach Station and the Lyceum theatre. Very modern and clean. We were on the 2nd floor, shame that our window looked out on to all the pipes and walls. These pipes were also noisy at night but we still managed to sleep ok. Room was fine, clean, spacious, tea and coffe available. There was a handy phone for us to use for free and could even take this out with us. Large TV with lots of channels. Iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, along with a safe. We didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on it. Easy check in and check out. Would stay again.

    « Excellent friendly hotel »

Stayed just one night and excellent overall experience. Very friendly, pleasant and helpful staff who went out of their way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Comfortable double room which was nice and warm upon arrival. Breakfast was a delight with a choice of continental or self serve cooked traditional English. Very good range and variety of items to choose from and all at the correct temperature making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Again, the staff couldn't have done more to ensure a perfect start to the day. Top marks all round and certainly would stay here again.

« Great small hotel in good location »

The Best Western Mornington Hotel is a lovely small and quiet hotel within walking distance of Paddington and just across the street from Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. It is also very near the Lancaster Gate tube station which gives quick access to the rest of this enormous city. The staff are friendly and responsive to any inquiries for assistance. Free breakfast and wi-fi are available if you book directly on the hotel web site. The cozy lobby bar is available 24 hours a day. Unfortunately, the kitchen closes at midday and no in-house dining is available after that. There is free access to a computer with printer attached on the basement floor adjacent to a tiny fitness centre. I've stayed here for a week at a time on four occasions and feel very comfortable here.

« Nice atmosphere, excellent breakfast and location. »

I've was stayed in this hotel for few days before Christmas and I loved everything. The room was spacious with everything we needed for our stay; warm and cozy, wifi good. Even if the room was facing in the back we didn't have any problem about the noise was very quiet. Next to reception there is a small library bar where you can enjoy a drink or reading something in a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast is great with a wide selection of food that allows you to have different choice every day. Location is amazing, 2 minutes walking distance to Lancaster gate station, in front of Hide Park, I could enjoy nice walks in that beautiful park in the morning, winter wonderland and many amenities just round the corner like supermarket, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants. It's a very nice place in a wonderful location if you are a tourist, definitely coming back on my next trip to London.

« Best Location - best Staff - best Breakfast »

Just around the corner from Lancaster Gate (Hyde Park) and Paddington (Train Station) this lovely hotel offers nice rooms, with all needed facilities such as tea/coffee, bathrobe, tv, roomservice (no fridge, but reception will help you out if needed). The staff is EXCEPTIONAL, all really friendly and helpful and very professional, breakfast is FANTASTIC with a great variety on offer. Been here before and will definitely be back.

« Good location and service »

Overall this was a good hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The service was excellent and we were looked after. The hotel was in an excellent location. The only negative comment I would have is the wifi connection was very poor and it made it difficult to contact family and friends back home as the wifi connection would cut out after a few minutes.

    « VERY GOOD LOCATION »

I travelled with my wife, brother and 1.5 year old infant. The hotel is at a very good location. Hyde Park is 2 minutes walk. Oxford Street is 10 minutes walk and the local market is at the back side of the hotel offering almost everything - Mcdonalds, Souvenirs, Local food, SIM card shop, Tesco Express. Bus connectivity is excellent. We travelled with Pram easily throughout london. Rooms are spacious enough - we had 3 luggage, 2 bags, 1 pram, 1 cot spread out and still the infant played around. The staff is courteous and sorted out few anomalies - Joanna and their senior admin - Doville to be specfic The breakfast definitely needs to be improved. Same things for 7 days. There should be something more or a better variety.

« A bit overrated but very food location »

5min walk to tube station - lancaster gate. Near hyde park but not on the main street and there is almost no noise from the traffic. I have asked for quiet room and got one but the cleaning staff was way too noisy! They are not making any effort so it is impossible to sleep after 7am if you are a light sleeper! The bed linen and towels were very clean. The room was clean only at first sight. After 3rd day some dust got out from under the bed. The room was normal size and not tiny as usually in London. Breakfast was fine. The reception staff was really helpful and friendly.

« Between Xmas and New Year :) »

Great hotel for the price, breakfast is excellent but no parking or one very expensive one (26£/night). Avoid room with view on the local pub, it can be noisy. Location in front of Hyde Park is ideal, close to Marble Arch and Oxford Street

« Great room for great price at a great place »

Great room for great price at a great place, not far from Piccadilly and Oxford street, close to two different tubes. Great and efficient staff, it has an elevator, great price per room, very clean. Open 24/7.

« False information on Booking.com and poor handling of complaint »

I stayed here in November and felt mislead by the hotel. When booking the hotel I considered the room sizes and paid extra to ensure I didn't get the smallest room in the hotel. The room I booked was an Executive Double Room which looked spacious on Booking.com and claimed the room was 161ft2. I stayed at another hotel in the same area named Park Grand Paddington Court a year earlier and the room I stayed in there (Club Double Room) was the exact same size (according to Booking.com) therefore I booked the Executive Double Room at the Best Western based on the pictures and the room size in confidence I would be spacious. However when we walked into the room it was like a match box. We spoke with the hotel staff and they looked through the pictures of the Executive Double Room on the Booking.com page and confirmed they were actually of a different room which was bigger. They offered to give us a bigger room for £30 which we paid. We took the matter up with Booking.com who advised the hotel considered the issue resolved as we paid extra to upgrade. Booking.com advised all the information on their website is provided by the hotel and therefore they couldn't help if the hotel consider the matter resolved. I was shocked to learn a hotel could display the wrong information and then consider the matter resolved when the customer pays extra to get the room they originally paid more for in the first place. The staff at the hotel were friendly, the hotel was clean and the breakfast included was perfect however I believe the hotel know the information is incorrect on their Booking.com page and scam people into paying extra. When I think about it now the Best Western own website doesn't have any pictures of the rooms they offer which is stranger. In summary don't book with this hotel, there is a better hotel around the corner named Park Grand Paddington Court who offer much more spacious rooms and honest service.

« Excellent location and friendly staff »

The location is great. 10 min walk to Paddington, 2 min to Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park is on the doorstep. Plenty of pubs and restaurants around. I accidentally booked it for a wrong day (and arrived a day early) and a very friendly lady at check-in helped me to sort it out with only paying the rate difference for that night. The hotel is cozy, rooms are nice, good value for money.

    4
    « Very good »

One of the best hotels I have stayed in in London. Staff were very friendly and rooms were clean. Breakfast was superb. 1 min walk to Lancester gate tube station. And some cafes located behind the hotels.

    4
« Good hotel for the price - clean and quiet, comfy bed »

Booked on booking.com which is probably why I was given the tiniest bedroom you can imagine. However it was only for 1 night and the bed was comfortable, the window could open and there was no street noise. For the price I cannot complain. If you're booking directly and there are 2 of you then you will want to make sure you don't get a tiny room - 2 people in Room 312 is probably not possible! Breakfast was reasonable - quite a good cooked breakfast, although I'd prefer to have had a better selection of cereals like some unsweetened muesli. Staff were friendly throughout. I'm quite picky with hotels but for the price I would go back.

« Good location and friendly staff »

Walking distance from Paddington and very close to Lancaster gate tube. Hyde park on the door step so the location is perfect. The Mitre pub just behind the hotel is also worth a visit. All in all good value comparing London prices.

« Good choice in London »

If you have to go to London, be safe choosing this hotel. God position, well kept and nice employees. Breakfast is good as well and Staff always smiling at you. Highly recommended for business and even for leisure.

    5
    « over night stay »

my breakfast was included which was very pleasant, although it was streaky bacon, which i am not keen on! But there was plenty to choose from.Staff were lovely particularly a young girl, called Natalia i think, who made sure my tea was served nice and hot, and was very polite and charming. Would definitely use this hotel again. Its all so central and nice part of London.

    « Business Trip - Precision »

I stayed at the Mornington from 12 - 17 November 2017. Having business meeting scheduled one after the other, the hotel provided great service during my stay and to fit in a bit of sightseeing while in London, they are situated close to Hydepark, Lancaster tube gate. The room was a bit small, but for one person on a short stay no problem.

    4
    « One night stay »

I was in London for a work event at the Grovesnor at Hyde Park so this location was excellent. Hotel is in a nice area and not too noisy, rooms were small but clean and functional. Beds were comfortable, shower was pretty decent and hot. Breakfast in the morning was also fairly good, hot cooked breakfast, cereals and pastries. Also had a drink on our way back at the small library bar, bar guy was pleasant and chatty even at 1.30 am which was nice of him. Would stay here again.

    5
« Good location, great little hotel »

I stayed here for just a night at the end of November. My single room was just about big enough (though one has to remember this is Central London!), but overall the hotel exceeded my expectations - everything was more than satisfactory, but the most noticeable thing was how warm and welcoming the staff was. Natalia in the breakfast room was a delight, and Charlotte at the front desk was warm and courteous. I will happily stay here again.

    « Nice! »

Mornington hotel is placed very close to Bayswater and Hyde Park and the beginning of Oxford Street, Marble Arch end. The rooms are quite small but well organized and well decorated. The staff are friendly and it is a little bit of a "coming home feeling".

    « A cosy experience »

I stayed here for two nights in early June.Everything was satisfactory, the room clean and enough spacious for one person, especially loved the bathroom. The staff very helpful and professional, especially Laura, the nicest girl, props to her for making my stay comfortable. The position of the hotel couldnt be better, since its very well located next to a metro station and bus station.Very handy location as well if you re flying to Heathrow.

« Excellent stay at Hotel »

Very helpful stuff to suggest restaurant and facilities nearby, Absolutely loved the room and breakfast, Highly suggested I also did liked the fact that you could order food from out side to be delivered to your room. A nice combination of cold and hot breakfast selection. Cosy lobby for late afternoon chilled drinking. fantastic for the price range and location.

« Holiday visit on November »

Location of the hotel is excellent. It is close the underground station. Staff was very polite and helpful. We stayed 5 nights and got a little bit larger room, which was excellent. We had some minor problems with WIFI connection, elevator and flushing of toilet. Surrounding area is pretty quiet. Close the Paddington station are some good restaurants.

« Very poor do not stay here »

I did not get the room I requested. The room was small and the hotel was very loud resulting in no sleep. Not worth the money I paid. I was moved after complaining but the second room was not really any better.

    4
    « Entertaining Customer »

This was my third stay at the Mornington, I use it each year when attending a business awards dinner for my self, staff and customers. The hotel is very reasonably priced for its location, clean with helpful staff. We look forward to been back for next years conference

    « A week in London »

Have stayed in this area many times although first time in this hotel. Loved this area of London and this hotel did not lessen any expectations. Ideal location to explore with easy access to Underground and or wander through Hyde Park. Staff extremely efficient and friendly. Our Twin room was ideal for us as it was away from the bulk of the guests and for the majority of time extremely quiet. Breakfast was ample and a wide array of foods to satisfy hopefully all tastes and cultures Will most definitely stay there again on any return to London. . .

    3
    « Adequate »

A bit out of the way. Everything was adequate except breakfasts. No bacon. No table cloths .so every thing slid on a polished top. Small tables for two. Room to small for a double bed. One of our couple had to climb over the other.

    4
    « Weekend away »

The hotel was easy to find and in a very good position to see London attractions. The room was a bit on the small side but comfortable. Staff were efficient and helpful. Hyde park just around the corner

    « Dirty smelly room »

Oh dear, this was a very disappointing stay. We booked an "executive suite" and were allocated room 102. Room smelt very stale and musty and the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned since the previous occupants. Only way we could put up with the room was to have the window open all the time. When we complained to the manager his attitude was that he could not care less. He offered us some air fresheners, perhaps not what you expect bering in mind the hotel's supposed 4 star status and room cost. I would recommend that you do not stay here, we will certaintly not be doing so.

    3
    « Surprising »

Everything is a bit different to what you expect from a 4-star central London hotel. First, location. It's close to two tube stations, but if you approach from Lancaster Gate, there's hardly any shop for snack etc. It's a completely different matter from Bayswater though. It's on a quiet road, set back from the main road by Hyde Park, but this advantage is rather undermined by the fact that the hotel isn't quiet (see below). Now, the hotel. I had a single room by the elevator; the noise that the elevator makes is extremely loud and it kept me up through the night. Not only that, the guests during my stay were inconsiderate - shouting, singing past 1am in the corridors and bedrooms, which is not the hotel's fault (though they should really make sure this is not acceptable), but the walls are very thin indeed. The room itself is lovely, clean, and nicely furnished. The interior in general is very nice. However, the bed was not the most comfortable. The wifi is variable.

« Best Western Mornington is great »

This htel is in a great location with easy access to the Tube and buses. The breakfast is plentiful, the room was cozy, the bed comfortable. It is easy walking distance to local pubs, Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, the Tube and bus lines.

« Small friendly hotel close to Hyde park. »

The hotel is located very close to Hyde park and Lancaster gate tube state. Small friendly hotel though the rooms are rather small. The room we got had no view to speak of except the wall of a building close by. The hotel offers a nice breakfast though it charges it as extra. The hotel does not offer room service after 10pm but will provide menus for nearby fast food restaurants that offer delivery services.

« Excellent Customer service and location »

My boyfriend and I have stayed in the area before so I know that the location is perfect for tourists. I'm glad that I chose Mornington Hotel because I had a delightful week's stay. The staff, particularly Andre, was really friendly and eager to help, even to please. Great customer service, congratulations to the management. The room, although a tad small, (I knew that), was just the right size for me, and it was kept clean and tidy. Definitely recommended!

    « Fun in London »

This hotel is lovely. Very friendly & helpful staff. Great location, across from the beautiful Hyde Park! The Bar in this hotel is a good place to visit with friends. Very relaxed & quiet location. Close to the Lancaster Tube entrance. I would recommend this hotel to family & friends. Rooms are a bit small, but most are in this part of London.

« Good Hotel, Ideal for Royal Albert Hall »

We stayed at the Mornington for 1 night on October 5, 2017. The hotel is easy to find, just minutes from Lancaster Gate tube. Our room was compact but clean and comfortable. We got quite a good deal on the price so maybe that's why we got a smallish room. However, we only wanted somewhere to crash for the night so it was not an issue. Bathroom had a nice shower, sink area and loo. Towels were nice and fluffy. Bed was quite firm. There was also a tv (with free to air channels), hair dryer, safe and ironing board / iron. Tip: when you check in, enquire about breakfast. If it is not included in your price then reception can sell you vouchers that are cheaper than paying when you go down. If it's a nice day you can walk through Hyde Park to the Royal Albert Hall in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on how many times to stop to look at / photograph the many wonderful sights in the park

    « Great experience »

We arrived at the Mornington Hotel september 27th and even though we were there hours before check-in we got our room immediately. The room itself were on the smaller side but it wasn't a problem. The room was clean and very nice (in terms of decorations and furniture). During the week we stayed at the Mornington Hotel we experienced minor issues such as the light not working probably - But when we told the straff the problems were fixed immediately. The breakfest was delicious and always fresh. Whenever we were taking with the straff they were sweet, polite and always helpfull. All in all I would definitely recommend the Mornington wrether you are on a holiday or travelling with work.

« Excellent value, perfect location. »

I took a chance on a last minute deal on booking.com It was much cheaper than the place I was going to stay in so decided to book it. It was perfect - I was allowed check in early with no problems, the room was very clean and cosy and it's in a perfect location just a few minutes walk to Lancaster Gate station and a short walk to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice - everything you would expect from a hotel breakfast. The young gentleman who is a trainee at reception was particularly helpful and courteous and he comes across very well. Thank you for a lovely stay and will definitely return. :-)

« My experience with BW Mornington Hotel, London, UK »

I have stayed at this hotel several times and my experience is just getting better each year. The staff are so helpful and the breakfast serving has improved a lot since my first stay. The location could not have been much better, near to Hyde Park/Kensington Park and Oxfort Str, Queensway, Notting Hill and Paddington within walking distance. The towels in the bathrooms are so thick and cosy, you can wrap yourself in them, you alson get shampoo, soap bar, shower gel and body lotion.

« Convenien location for Kensington Gardens in quiet residential area »

Stayed here for 1 night as had excellent deal from booking.com. Check in was quick and efficient. Was allocated a double economy which could only be described as compact. Great for 1 night and single occupancy, but might feel claustrophobic with 2 occupants for any length of time. The bathroom was also compact. The clever design made the most of the available space, room was nicely decorated, very smart and clean. Only downside was lack of bar meals. There were a choice of 2 different frozen meals so had to go out to find something. Had an early start so can't comment on breakfast. Room was opposite a local pub and people were drinking outside but couldn't hear any noise inside my room. The hotel is very convenient for local tube and Kensington Gardens and felt safe when out on my own early evening. I would stop here again if I found a similar deal.

    « Great location »

Fantastic location. 10 minutes walk from Paddington station. 5 minutes walk to Hype park and Lancaster Gate underground station. Staff very nice and helpful. Room small and basic but has everything you need, especially for business trip. Will be back if on business but not for luxery Holliday!

    2
« Not very good value for the money. »

The room was small and dark. We paid for an executive room, but we never got it. The internet did not work. Breakfast was fine. It was too expensive eventhough we didn"t pay full price. The area was fine.

    3
    « Very Ordinary »

This hotel has a fantastic location being only a few minutes walk from the Paddington area of London's West End. Upon arrival you notice how nice the exterior of the hotel is and, once inside, you also notice the nice reception area and alongside the Library Bar. Our greeting and check were fine but that's where it stopped for my wife and I. The rooms are like "matchboxes" and the bathroom is definitely a one person at a time situation. The foot of the bed is only a few inches from the wall so it is not the easiest of rooms to get around in. The floor in our room creeked so getting up during the night was disturbing for my sleeping wife. The breakfast provided was excellent with a good range of foods but they did not keep the cooked food hot at any stage which spoilt the overall dining experience. The housekeeping staff left a lot to be desired and we even had to ask reception to get our room service after 4pm on one particular day. Twice we went out early in the morning, around 9.30am, but come 4pm or thereabouts when we returned our room had not been touched. Overall not the greatest hotel experience we've ever had but it served a purpose. Would not stay there again when in London.

    « Exceptional customer service! »

I stayed for a few days at the BW Mornington and the staff members went out of their way to help with a problem I had with my luggage and even followed up with me after my stay to assure me that the issue had being taken care of. The hotel is very cozy at an excellent location and the breakfast is perfectly delicious to start the day off! Would highly recommend anyone to stay!

    « A Pleasant Stay »

My wife and I stayed here for five nights and enjoyed it very much. The room while small was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Their breakfast was fabulous and the hotel is conveniently located. Hyde Park is a half block away and the underground is two blocks away. There were several nice places to eat within walking distance and there were several money exchange places also within walking distance. The staff with one exception was very friendly and most helpful

    4
    « Great Location »

Clean , friendly hotel with helpful receptionist staff, always happy to answer questions. Rooms we stayed in on 5th floor were small and basic (no fridge) but decor was modern and we had much needed air- conditioning unit as we had chosen a very hot weekend . Close to Hyde park and Kensington gardens, if your looking for a great location this is the hotel for you. Lanchaster gate tube station is only minutes walk away which means you're never far away from any where you want to travel to in London.

    3
    « Well located »

The hotel itself is well located to most parks, Paddington station, bus stops, oxford street, etc. Hotel lay out is quite confusing, stairs, doors, and too many Conners can be tiring. Rooms are okay but a bit small. Never trust the pictures you see online. No concierge service so be prepared to handle your luggages yourself. The best part of the hotel is breakfast, enjoyed the selection of food

    4
« Great location and reasonably priced »

Less than 5 minutes walk from the nearest tube station, 10 to Kensington High St and 20 to Oxford St. Very reasonably priced considering location and quality of room. Staff were friendly and polite. After half an hour, the reception called our room to ask if everything was ok, which I thought was a nice touch. Only downside was a few nasty cigarette burns to the bathtub which made having a bath highly unattractive, which was a little disappointing.

« Surly and Unprofessional Staff, Plus Overpriced and Insufficient Room Detracted From Our Stay »

We had quite a different and unfortunate experience at the Best Western Mornington when we stayed there this past June. First of all, we urge travelers to check various discount websites for their rates. Our reservation was made far in advance, and when we arrived, likely due to Brexit and recent terror attacks, multiple sites' room rates were less than 1/3 of what we paid (we paid almost €300, and the listed rates ranged from €78 - €95). When we arrived, there was a welcome note from the manager in our room, stating that we had been upgraded. Our room was so deficient that we cannot imagine what we were upgraded from. The sofa was stained, the overhead light only worked intermittently and there was no outlet in the bathroom. There was a towel warmer in this bathroom whose on-off switch was in the living room, six inches off the floor and hidden. In addition, the hair dryer was permanently affixed inside the main room's closet, twenty feet away from the bathroom and thus, unusable. One afternoon we returned to the room in the late afternoon to find our room had not been serviced, apparently because they take care of checkouts first. When we called the housekeeping department, they then informed us that they doubted they would be able to clean ours that day. A variety of unsatisfactory details pursued, mainly due to their internal miscommunication and surly, untrained staff. This was our final stop on a three-week journey comprising six different hotels, all in Italy. We had outstanding experiences everywhere else. However between our experience while here and with our totally unsatisfactory subsequent multiple follow-ups with the manager, we feel we had to warn people that this place needs significant lessons on providing top notch customer service as well as cleaner rooms and more efficient amenities.

    « Wedding anniversary »

We wanted a day/night in London see the sights and have a meal for our wedding anniversary with a night in the capital. Found this hotel to be a lovely hotel off the main road and just the right size and very relaxing. From the moment we entered the hotel right to the time we went to check out we were looked after. Room was very good value for the money and the bed very comfy. Hotel is 5 minutes from the tube station and not far from bars and restaurants and hyde park. Staff very helpful and made our stay special. Would stay again.

    « Great location »

A nice small hotel located near Lancaster Gate (currently closed for remodeling).  Paddington, Queensway, and Bayswater are about a 15 to 20 minute walk away.  There are a small number of bars and restaurants nearby.  The atmosphere in the lobby is nice with a small bar off to the side and plenty of comfy chairs and couches to sit.  They also have a library with a nice variety of books.  The library bar is open 7/24 which is great for those coming and going at all hours. Staff is friendly.  There is no one working the door so you have to carry your baggage up several steps as there is no ramp.  The hotel has a weird layout with split level floors.  The place the elevator, hallways, and rooms seem to be a little cramp.  I had a single room overlooking the back street and it was a little tight.  A review mentioned the bar behind the hotel may make a lot of noise but I did not notice anything from my room on the second floor over my 3 night stay. Since I was only in my room to sleep and shower, it was more than adequate.  If you have breakfast included in your stay, go early or late as it can get crowded.  I skipped breakfast my first day as the line was long to get in and I wanted to get out to start some sightseeing.  The breakfast area is small and may feel claustrophobic but it is bright.  The food was good and there is a nice selection of items.  I like the small atmosphere of this hotel.  I would definitely stay here again.

    « Great location. »

The hotel is pretty close to Paddington station (10 minute walk), which is convenient for many Underground lines and where the Heathrow Express comes in. It is also extremely close to Hyde Park, which was lovely to stroll through. We got a pretty good deal via a booking website, so it was also quite affordable - even the front desk staff commented on the deal we got. The wifi speed left something to be desired, but that wasn't a big deal. Overall though, we had a good stay.

    4
    « Great location »

This is a mid range hotel that is in a great location between Paddington Station, which is where the Heathrow express comes in, and Hyde park. Only 5 blocks between them all. They stored our luggage at 9 am. In the morning and we walked through Hyde park to Kennsington palace where we took a tour then walked down to Harrods and looked around and ate. Going back you have to be careful it is easy to get confused where the hotel is. A lot of angle streets and I did not pay much attention when we left. They have a great breakfast and a fantastic staff. The rooms were average and not very many electrical outlets, but we got by. There is just a small plaque on the building that says Mornington Hotel but that is it. Easy to miss first time. Would diffinatly go back.

This is what might be called a value hotel. Not big and swanky but perfectly adequate for a few nights in London. Excellent location, near bus, tube and park but in a quiet street so no noise. Air con good, room large enough, clean, pleasant staff and an excellent breakfast. What more do you need ?

« Great location for Hyde Park »

Great hotel with friendly service and clean rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Location is really good, very close to Paddington for heathrow express, to metro station Lancaster gate and very close to Hyde Park. The museums are also walking distance ( V&A, science, Natural history museums).

    « Excellent hotel! »

Me and My sitter spend three nights at this hotel and we were extremely satsified with the accomodation! The room was modern and CLEAN! The area was nice and the tube just a short walk away. The breakfast was great and the staff at the hotel was kind and helpful. We will defenitly stay here again!

    « Nice hotel »

This hotel located near with the Paddington station and also near with Hyde Park. So, you can walk around the park to go to the Buckingham Palace. But if you wanna go by train you can catch the Tube from Paddington station (5min walking from the hotel). While about the hotel, it's nice and comfort hotel and my suggestions if you stay there, please asks for a nice view (because previously my room view was the wall from the other buildings). But, overall it was nice and worth hotel to stay.

« BEST WESTERN MORNINGTON HOTEL LONDON HYDE PARK »

Travelled here in June. My Husband and I have used Best Western Hotels for years and was disappointed. we were supposed to have had an Executive Room. The room was very small and did not have the facilities that usually go with a Best Western Executive Room. There was no seating area, no fridge, and the choice of beverages were poor, we had one packet of biscuits (two biscuits per pack) between two. The Breakfast Room was very small and lacked the usual standard of selection, the coffee was disgusting and became undrinkable by the end of the week.

I am in London for a month, but my trip had to start a day earlier than expected and didn't book that one extra night in my Hotel and as they didn't have availability anymore, had to book just one night at this place (soooo glad it was just one night!) At the beginning, upon first inspection I thought the room was OK. Freakishly small yes, and smelled funny, but hey! It was just me for just one night so...WTH..But then, when I laid on the bed and rolled, I almost fell over to the floor, felt like a force was pulling me to one side. Well, that force was gravity, as I realized the frigging room floor is tilted to the left!. Seriously to enter the bathroom you feel like you are going down a hill..Literally! I felt like in that movie Inception scene..There's that... Then when I took a shower I actually almost had a bath..not because there was a jacuzzi or a bathtub. But because the pluming in the shower was blocked!! The thing almost flooded..Disgusting.! What bothers me is that at these establishments they always are so eager and puntual in taking your money.. TOTALLY OVERPRICED BY THE WAY..but when it comes to replying to a guest complaint or request or to improve or maintaining the basics services any (even 2 stars) hotels SHOULD have, it seems like they go deaf, blind and mute.. I WOULD NOT come back to this hotel and definetly WOULD NOT recommend.. But hey, maybe it was just me, that won the s****y room lottery...

« great base for business »

The standards at Best Western particularly the interiors public rooms and bedrooms are always to a high standard. I did not have the room I asked for but the young man on Reception was very helpful and did find one on a high floor. Though the other Receptionist butted in to his conversation with me to inform me I did not book that room. I did find it embarrassing for the young man and very rude and unprofessional of her.

    « Great Location »

The Hotel is a 5 minute walk from Lancaster Gate Underground Station, and about 10 to Hyde Park. Our double room had two chairs which in our experience is something of a rarity. We had no view from our room - only onto a a blank brick wall. There was no fridge, but the bed was reasonably large, and comfortable. The bathroom ( no bath but good shower ) was adequate. One day we ran out of toilet paper, and each day were given a replacement ( ie additional ) hair conditioner, rather than shower gel. Breakfasts were good, on Friday and Monday, but disappointing at the weekend.- ran out of orange juice, and had what seemed a long wait for it to be refilled ; similarly we had to wait for glasses, and the speed of topping up what was on offer was slow. There appeared to be a lack of Breakfast staff on both Saturday and Sunday. Having said that, the staff were friendly, and helpful

« Excellent location for Hyde Park »

First stay at this hotel. Very enjoyable. Very comfy. Despite being a small room due to it being a single room, it provided everything I needed for a one night stay. After attending the BST festival it was ideal to get to. Close to tube station (Lancaster Gate if it's open). Air con in room is good! My only gripe was that the extractor in the bathroom runs constantly even when the light is turned off? I only figured this out after having a much disturbed nights sleep to start with after thinking the noise was being generated by the air con - getting up and turning the air con off, changing temperature hoping it would stop. It wasn't until after using the shower room and closing the door behind me I realised it was the extractor after all! So note to self; always close the bathroom / shower room door even when not in use :) Excellent breakfast. Available at £10 if booked upon check in or £15 if wish to decide on the morning. Plentiful and large selection of options such as cereal, fruit, fry up etc. Staff very polite. Only too happy to answer questions and hold onto bags upon departure if you wish to venture around before leaving for home. Would definitely stay again

« Very nice hotel ideal location for concerts in Hyde Park »

Stayed here when attending a concert in Hyde Park. Great location within walking distance of the park. Paddington Station a 10 minute walk away. Very clean, helpful staff. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't have it.

    « Fantastic Service »

We booked this hotel as an easy option for our family to stay nearby where we live for a few days. We booked with Laura and another colleague a month prior and they were both so welcoming. Once arrived to check in, the staff continued to please - showing how well they know other cultures and giving clear directions. The room was very clean, in very good condition and facing a quiet street. The breakfast was good as well even-though our family is known to be picky with food. We would really recommend staying and once again would like to thank Laura who looked after our booking.

    « Decent room »

The hotel was convenient for Lancaster Gate tube station and Hyde Park. The staff were friendly, the room large and comfortable and the breakfast decent. The bathroom lacked a bath and had a ledge to step over for entry - a recipe for a stubbed toe. Otherwise it was fine.

« Good rather than average but it does have some quirks »

This place is good rather than average so with this review you have to read. Check in was with a Polish young lady who I think had issues with our Aussie accent. Not her fault or her problem, but she was very nice and very helpful. Next the Bar which is situated right next door to reception but does not have any independent staff so in order to get service you are at the whim of travellers checking in so if you want a drink and they are busy in reception then be prepared for a wait having said that not a bad spot for a drink. Next getting to your room. Achieving this aim is either by lift or stairs. For reasons of her own my wife will avoid using lifts where possible. This raises two issues. The first is this hotel of two mansion houses joined together meaning to set of owners stair and a myriad of other stairs so it is easy to get lost. Very easy as my wife found out on the way up and I found out on the way back down. She had to be rescued by a member of staff. Secondly because of the age of the property I dare say it is heritage listed which means no changing of the stair cases. This is something of a disappointment because they are steep and dangerous. Walked up them twice and down them twice and never again. The hand rail is built for people who were 5' 7" to 5' 9" and I am 6' 2" which means they are no longer appropriate. I could barely touch the hand rail let alone grab hold of it so yes as said dangerous. Perhaps if they were to put a rail on the wall at an appropriate height, that may improve things. Looking down from the first level to the ground floor they were so steep that my heart was in my mouth and after the second time I refused to use them. The rooms. We asked for the largest bed possible closest to the ground floor. We got the third floor and were told we had a king bed. Sorry guys, I don't know how you define a king but this one wasn't even close somewhere between a double and a queen still it was comfortable and because the room was small and I mean very small we chose to live with it. The room was user friendly enough and I am sure that there were better rooms but I twernt complaining. Oh The Bathroom: Nearly forgot. Ours was small but efficient. The location was central enought and there is a brilliant little Italian restaurant around the corner. Good luck and I hope you find my review helpful.

    « Very impressed. »

As with all central London hotels the room was on the small side. We had very kindly been upgraded to an executive room but due to stairs in the room and my wifes mobility problems we had to refuse the room, shame as it was very nice and kind of the staff. The Staff were without exception excellent. Polite, helpful, who could ask for more. Caroline on reception was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was also brilliant and the staff very attentive. Avery good staff to guest ratio.

    « Scam »

Do not stay here !! They cancelled the room I booked so they could profit from selling the room at a higher rate. The excuse for cancelling the room were bizarre at best. They then asked me to pay 3 x the price. Very rude and unhelpful staff. You risk having no where to stay if you book this hotel. Or you end up paying a premium on arrival. Complete Scam.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. It's close to several tube stations including Paddington. It's also very close to Hyde Park which is a must see, so peaceful and beautiful. The staff were wonderful and helpful with anything I asked them. My room was adorable and very comfortable. I had a wonderful stay here and would stay here again.

« Great location with well equipped room »

Stayed for just one night in a single room. Single room had everything you could need and was nicely done out. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only negative was when going down for breakfast there was a horrible almost sewerage smell just outside the dining area and also feel the dining area could do with being bigger. The location for the hotel was fantastic and just a couple of minutes walk from the tube.

    « One night stay. »

We can't fault the staff at this hotel very friendly and approachable especially in the breakfast room. However our room was in the basement, the bathroom didn't have a blind on the window. As we were on street level this meant people could walk past and see you on the toilet. The glass is frosted slightly but would feel more comfortable with a blind. The room was clean and quite spacious. Bed was ok you could feel the springs in the mattress. Also we had a very odd buzzing noise every so often, think this might have come from the air conditioning unit. Breakfast was good, nice buffet and as I mentioned above the staff were lovely. This hotel is in a good location it's about a 10 minute walk from Paddington. We might have just been a bit unlucky with our room.

    « Just ok »

We booked this hotel as we were attending a concert in Hyde park, ideal location for getting into Hyde park but the hotel itself was a bit poor. Arrived at 2pm to check in, room not ready so missed several of the support acts. Room small, big bed that took up pretty much the whole room. Safe wouldn't lock but was replaced when we asked, air con didn't work and as we where on the 4th floor the heat was overwhelming and the room felt claustrophobic. Only mirror in the room-not close to a plug socket so really difficult to do my hair. After the concert we wanted something to eat on arrival back at the hotel we were told there was no food and we were handed a pizza menu to order a takeaway, for a supposedly 4 star hotel I thought this was very poor. Breakfast good, freshly squeezed orange juice a nice little extra. Would I stay here again? Possibly for its location but I'm more likely to try the Corus hotel across the road next time we are visiting Hyde park.

    « Great location »

This hotel is quite lovely. There were three of us (one of us is 6' 6" tall) in a very small room so we didn't spend a lot of time in the room other than sleeping, but the room was comfortable with nice beds and large windows. The breakfast buffet was really great with a large selection of breakfast items. My favorite were the lovely, fresh, croissants. I loved the location as it was very near a great pub, super close to Hyde Park and a short walk to the bus stop. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

« First trip to the UK »

This was our first trip to the UK. The hotel itself was ok, we where close ( 1 block ) to Hyde Park. What we were surprised about was that this Best Western had no free breakfast. My wife and I will usually stay at Best Western, get up in the morning and while having breakfast discuss our plans for the day. I'm not a cheapskate but why pay £ 10 each for a breakfast at a hotel when we can go out and find a local place and pay less or the same and enjoy the locals. Also it seems like every time we asked the desk person for directions, they either didn't know where the place we wanted to go was, or they gave us wrong directions. You would think if you work at a business in a particular city, you would know where things are, especially working at a hotel. Would I stay here again, probably not. I would look for another. Again this was our first trip to the UK, but it will not be our last as we now have family living in England. The hotel was very clean & comfortable, I just expected it to be a bit better.

    « Really good value »

We booked this as one of booking.com deal and it was well worth it. Doesn't look too much from the outside but inside its really nice. Yes some of the furniture in the communal areas are a bit funky (lime and silver sofas) but we liked it. We were on the top floor and it was corner room but it was more than big enough and had everything you needed, shower, bath, double bed, TV, iron, hairdryer, ironing board, safe etc etc. I know some people have complained about the breakfast area in reviews as it has no windows and no natural light however we have been to quite a few places like this and wouldn't call it an issue at all.

    3
« You could have better options in the same area »

The hotel has no services to be a 4 star hotel. It is very nice looking because it was renovated 2010 but the rooms are extremely small. Bathroom is new but tiny. the hotel doesn't offer restaurant, nor vending machine, nor ice maker, nor refrigerator in the room to keep cold sanks or beverages when you are with little children. we didn't feel confortableduring our stay. The beds are comfy and the breakfast is awesome. So if you are looking for a good breakfast to start your day in the busy London, this is the hotel for you. If you travel with kids this is not a good option. It is located in a nice and quiet area but no groceries, supermarket near. There is one good italian restaurant around the corner and 2 english bars , but children are not allow to come in for dinner. This is my third time in London and i usually stay around the Hyde Park. you can find better options in the area for same price.

    « Mostly good experience »

This hotel is well kept, and is centrally located about a 6 to 10 minute walk from the Paddington underground station; the Lancaster Gate station is much closer, but was closed for renovations during our visit (June 8-12). The staff is courteous and helpful, and was very accommodating of our requests (moving us to a different room after the first night, and allowing us to leave a large bag with them for 3-4 days after we checked out, so we didn't have to lug it around on a side trip). We did experience a few issues, though some of them are either typical in many London hotels (1. and 2.) or were beyond management's immediate control (4): 1. The rooms with two twin beds are small. 2. The coffee served in the breakfast room is quite weak; even when I ordered it with a shot of expresso it was still not very strong. 3. The rooms we had had a high (about 5 inches) threshold separating the room from the bathroom, which would be very easy to trip over in the middle of the night. 4. On Sunday morning, we were awoken by loud music coming through the wall from a flat in the adjoining building (10 Lancaster Gate). When we complained to the front desk about it, we were told they were aware of it, they had already called the police and it was (unfortunately) not the first time it had happened. 5. Though the doors of the rooms we had were equipped with typical dead-bolts, they were not functional, and so you have to rely on the regular door lock, plus the safety chain when you're in the room. 6. There is an elevator, but the building itself appears to not be handicap accessible, because there are a number of steps from the street to what appears to be the only entrance. 7. The mattresses were OK, but could have been a bit firmer.

« Friendly and affordable hotel in an excellent location »

The room was comfortable and not too small considering the price. I was able to get a late checkout with no issues. Breakfast was nice enough. The staff are friendly at least on the reception, although the cleaning and other staff are quite noisy if you take the stairs and hear them yelling! The best thing about this hotel is its location - it's less than 10 minutes' walk from Paddington station, which is a 15-minute train ride from Heathrow so it's very convenient for travellers.

« Good value and great service »

My wife and i stayed at The Mornington on 1st and 2nd June this year. The hotel has a fantastic location opposite Hyde Park and with a bus stop just 100 yards away which goes direct to the West End. some of the rooms seem to be quite small and indeed we were offered a small room initially. However after a request for something better we were given a perfectly adequate room with no argument. The staff were really helpful and friendly. and we think we had good value. we have stayed may times in central London and for the price this hotel is worth considering We would highly recommend the breakfast which at just £10 per person was excellent value. Best feature is definitely the location.

    3
« What you see not what you get »

Room is very small, sitting area plus writing desk and chair basically only fits 2 luggages, can't even pull out the chair from writing desk. Totally different from what you see on the website. Rooms are clean, but everyday house keeping were not up to standard, toiletries, milk, biscuits and etc are not refill until you mention it. No minimum bar or fridge for a 4 stars hotel is not acceptable. TV at awkward position, which you can't watch normally from the bed, also sitting area basically utilised to put your luggages and no chairs provided ( shown on website photo but the room actually can't fit another chair for sitting are) so your sitting area is basically NO CHAIR. Sound proof isn't that good, can hear people talking or walking around outside the room. The rest are up to standard, clean, tidy, location, service and etc.

    « Very comfortable »

Arrived and checked in within 5 mins staff very helpful, room very adequate with every thing needed inc phone, tea & coffee, iron, safe, and a great walk in shower. Used the bar on our return at 23.30 on a Sunday. And was not rushed in fact I believe you could probably carry on drinking as long as you wanted we stayed for an hour or so great service, will use again when in London

    « Disappointing »

We stayed here for several nights on a recent European trip. Unfortunately at the time of booking we didn't know that the Lancaster Gate station would be closed or else we would have looked elsewhere. We got quite a shock when our taxi arrived to find the hotel was located next to a derelict building covered in graffiti. We didn't feel safe in the area. Our room was small and quite hot as the air conditioning did not work properly. The beds were also quite hard. The bathroom was very tiny and to get in and out of the shower you had to grab hold of the towel rail which was always heated and very hot. When we touch the power cord to see if it could be turned off we got an electric shock. While the hotel advertises itself as 4 star, I think it is closer to a 3 star. The breakfast was not very appetising with most of the staff speaking little English. After the first morning I gave it a complete miss. On the upside, the reception staff are nice. All up, unfortunately we cannot recommend this hotel.

« Comfortable and very nice! »

We stayed a couple of days and our experience was really good. Very close to shops, restaurants and transport services, this hotel has a very nice style. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, staff is super helpful and the breakfast is full of options. Price in the average. I do raccomend it.

Excellent service. The room is small but well designed so that everything you need is here and accessible. The tube station is nearby. The room is located close to central London. They have a small exercise room that was a bonus. Break fast was good quality with many choices. This hotel is a good value. It is the service that sets it apart.

« Okay, but in a good way! »

We stopped here for a night in May to attend a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The location is excellent to the RHA, justa 10 minute stroll across Hyde Park, highly recommended in Spring/Summer. The Hotel is okay, small and well located to Paddington (10 minute walk, Lancaster Gate being currently closed) The rooms are adequate, clean and tidy and well appointed with modern fixtures and fittings. Our room 201 faced into the centre of the building so had very little light, this room is also located directly next to the lift door, at first I thought to move rooms but as there is only 8 rooms on each floor, traffic was not bad at all. The beds are comfy, but pillows need replacing as they were a little aged. Breakfast was excellent, loads of choice and brilliant friendly staff. To rant a little, There was an older lady at breakfast (May 24th) wearing red from Boston who felt it was acceptable to talk to the waitress at breakfast like dirt on her shoe, the staff were brilliant and worked very hard and no matter that you are a paying customer, we are all human beings and these wonderful people do not deserve your bad manners and rudeness. Overall a nice stay, for the money and location I would book again.

    « Okay »

    « Thumbs up »

Stayed one night here over the weekend, good price compared to other hotels in the area. I booked a single room which was clean and tidy, nothing fancy but it worked. Bathroom was clean. The guy at reception desk was friendly/helpful. If you're looking for a short stay I would recommend. Only downside which other people have already mentioned is that you can hear everything through the walls. Luckily I was tired and managed to fall asleep anyway but walls are pretty thin. All in all good location, close to bus routes, Paddington station is a ten minute walk, pleasant staff.. gets a thumbs up from me.

« Appalling, do not stay if you like comfort »

Short business trip. Horrible, basic, characterless hotel. Not remotely a 3 or 4 star. If you're desperate then it might suit you. Do not expect anything comfortable. If you just want somewhere really basic to lie your head then it'll probably be fine.

« Not what we thought »

We like to stay in nice hotels and this stay was booked through a travel agent. It is a standard room which on the website looks nice. Well that is not a standard room but we were told by our travel agent we could upgrade by paying the difference. We had all day excursions planned so I didn't want to waste time with switching rooms, not that the hotel offered. Out of a five night stay I had to ask for towels three times after the room was surposedly made up. I'm so aggravated with coming back at 10pm tonight to find no towels that I installed TripAdvisor just to write this review. We leave London tomorrow. On the positive side the lobby is okay and the breakfast is good. The location also is good. I would rate this a two star, at Best three star, hotel.

    « One night stay »

Stayed here once before and didn't hesitate returning. Prices are excellent for central London, staff are great and the accommodation is just perfect.. coupled together with good transport links virtually on your doorstep, why stay anywhere else? Well done guys 10/10 all day long.

« Well located and comfortable stay »

This hotel is well located just a stone throw's away from Hyde Park, and a five minute walk from Paddington train station. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was very small, but comfortable and well appointed. Our only issue was the noise from other guests. It's an older building so soundproofing would be difficult, however we were awoken earlier than desired each morning from the footsteps of people moving around on the floor above us. Bring ear plugs! Luckily street noise was next to non existent.

    3
« One night stay including breakfast »

I found the staff very helpful and friendly however I felt very claustrophobic. We were told we had the best room in the hotel, which was below the main floor as was the breakfast room. TV signal was terrible and the internet was a joke in our room. To retrieve my emails I would go sit in the reception area. Apart from these issues the hotel was fine.

    5
    « Excellent stay »

I have stayed in this hotel twice now, and it really is excellent, this time my room was quite "cosy" (small!!), but to be quite honest it was not a problem, Spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, the breakfast was plentiful also with a very good selection available, the ladies that served breakfast were all really friendly and very helpful. My only gripes are that the Hot breakfast was tepid! Wifi was free, but it was not very good! But on the whole its a clean, and a great central location, and I will definatly be returning

    4
    « Will definitely return »

Thoroughly enjoyable stay, excellent value for money. The room was clean, tidy and looked recently refurbished. Wasn't the most spacious of rooms when sharing with my wife however we only used it for sleeping at night. The double bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts were first class with plenty of choices. Rooms and interior decor are very good. Don't be put off by the exterior appearance and decor. Will definitely return to this hotel.

« Great location, very kind staff, quite nicely decorated - and we liked the pillows! »

We were at the Mornington for a week and missed a small fridge in our rooms - otherwise I would have given them 5 dots. The proximity to Kensington Gardens (and some very useful bus stops and (when they are not renovating it) Lancaster Gate tube station is a huge plus. There is a very attractive small café just inside the gate with a beautiful view of the fountains in the Italian Garden that Albert created for Victoria: highly recommended for your morning coffee and newspaper reading! The pub just behind the hotel, the Mitre, offered good beer and better-than-average pub grub - and we liked the Waitrose supermarket which was hiding in a petrol station just down Edgware Road. The Mornington breakfast included everything we could wish for and the staff there and in reception were all kind and helpful. Usually in hotels we consider bringing our own pillows next time we go away - but not this time. Another plus - and Mornington, we definitely think you are one of the nicest London hotels in this price category we have stayed in.

« Not first choice for honeymooners »

We had a nice room and a bathroom with a bathtub. Our room was facing east, into some kind of backyard which was fine- however the walls in our room were so thin, they might as well have been curtains... When we tried to open the door to OUR room our next door neighbour came out his room as he suspected we tried to break into HIS room - on the other hand were we able to brush up on our Bulgarian because we could hear every word when he was on the phone in his room ...Got a bit scary at night as it sounded as he was taking phonecalls on OUR bedside... The hotel is conveniently located in a side street , meters away from Hyde Park - close to Lancaster Gate Tube station ( Closed for construction til 7/2017) . Walking distance to the Royal Albert Hall 15 min( Park Gates closed during the night ) Breakfast ( which we did not have ) is 15 £ on the spot and 10 £ when you book it the night before

« Great location but small rooms and a shambolic breakfast service »

The location of this hotel is perfect- close to Lancaster gate tube adn next to Hyde park. Our room was rather small though and a little basic. Breakfast sounded wonderful on the menu but was a rather sad and shambolic affair- we had to repeatedly ask for milk for cereal and bread and wait for other basic items and the poor staff seemed utterly overstretched and stressed. The selction was not as extensive as advertised and things like the tinned fruit cocktail and lack of fruit juices and more than just sliced packet bread for toasting was disappointing. Great location but perhaps not as high end as the website might suggest.

Originally we had booked the Best Western The Boltons hotel but when we arrived there they told us that the hotel was full. However they said that they were transferring us to a sister hotel (Best Western Mornington hotel). We weren't too pleased at first to hear this but it turned out for the better! The hotel arranged a free transfer to the new hotel and free breakfast for our two night stay. We found out that this hotel had easy access to London's main attractions such as Winter Wonderland (about 2 tube stops away or as an alternative 2 bus stops away roughly). The hotel was modern and spotless but the room was very small. The staff were all very friendly, they always said hello as they passed you. Breakfast food was to a good standard with a small variety to choose from. So overall we had a very enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this for a weekend away.

« Perfect location and great breakfast buffet BUT small rooms »

The room: We had to move room 3 times for the 6 nights we were there and the last room we were moved to was extremely small. The first 2 nights we were in a small room #14, later in they move us to a room in an executive floor. The room is 3 times larger and is considered a suite although that size of that room would be considered a standard size in the US. After spending 2 nights in the larger room, the plumbing on the entire floor didn't work and it discharged a very unpleasant smell in to the rooms. Again, had to move to another room that's even smaller than the first one. You can only get on the bed from one side, to open the window you have to get on the bed, and you can't open your luggage unless it's laid on the bed. But we managed. However, regardless the size, all rooms were quiet especially the ones facing the back side of the hotel. The staff: since many of the staff if not all, are not British native, most are from Eastern Europe, reception wasn't warm. They're cold but professional. Except for one tall young man, I think his name is MICHAEL, whose customer service skill is of those Starwood hotels level. Second to none! We're very appreciative of everything he did for us. The Location: Perfect location. 5 minute walk to the Lancaster tube station which is on the central line, 15 minute walk or a blink of an eye for a taxi ride from/to the Paddington station (one of the 3 major train stations in London), not to mention hotel is located in Hyde park area, prestigious and safe area. Only 3 stops away from Oxford Circus which is SOHO where you get food, shopping, nightlife and entertainment. We came home after midnight almost every night. It's safe. We're aware of the pick pocket and stuff, but that happens everywhere in big cities in every part of the world. Just be cautious, wear your money belts or hidden wallet, and keep your belongings in checked at all times then you'll be fine. We'll definitely be going back to this hotel again. Tips, we were told to avoid group of teenagers of young people under age. But we didn't see them at all on the Central line nor around the hotel (Hyde Park/Notting Hill area).

    « Horrible experience »

We have booked 2 rooms before our trip from web. When we check in we saw both rooms were different than we booked. One was smaller. The other is smelling awful humidity under ground floor. Also both rooms were very cold. The suprise attacks us during check out. Altough the full price was blocked from our credit cards, they told us that they are unable to complete payment. And requested to take the payment again. We tried nearly 30 min to make them understand our bank already autohrised them to take the money, if there is a problem they have to consult their own bank. At last they understand and let us leave. This may cause us to miss the flight.

    « Wonderful stay »

Lovely hotel clean and warm would recommend this hotel and would use again . Close to Hyde park and local to shops . Breakfast plentiful and very good service throughout the whole stay . Will definitely use this hotel again

« Perfect room in a perfect location »

When we arrived we were upgraded to a loft which was perfect. Upstairs there was the room and a bathroom, and downstairs a living room with coffee maker. It was very well decorated, and the wi-fi was very good. The staff was very helpful. I really recommend it, and will surely stay there again.

« Superb hotel at a reasonable price »

I stay in West London around 3 nights per week and use a cluster of hotels and b&bs that i know are ok, as i couldnt get a room in any of my usual places i had to look elswhere. Well, i was very impressed with this place from the outset, lobby is good, parking good, rooms comfortable, clean and well equipped. I paid around £90 an can tell you that you will struggle to find anything better in the area. Highly recommended

    « So Hot »

The Hotel is in a good location near Bayswater Road , Good Public transport links for Tube and Bus, I had a single bed room on the 5th floor , The room was so hot with Air Conditioning not working ! I opened the window to help but still so hot The Breakfast was good with a wide section But again the Breakfast room was Hot , Whether there was a boiler problem or not I do not know but the heat was to much for me and the members of our party The Hotel is good value and would use again if not so Hot

« You don't get what you pay for »

Nice hotel and staff were friendly at times. Two women one afternoon were quite rude to my partner which was very off putting. Service was average which was disappointing for the price we paid. They say 24 hour bar but during the late hours, nobody is there so you have to call quite loudly to be served and one time another customer was told off for it which seemed rather unnecessary. I'm confident you could find a better hotel for the same price.

« Nice well located boutique hotel »

Our second time here in 4 years and did not disappoint. The Mornington is like a cross between a very nice modern B&B and a small full service hotel. Very good attentive service and the 24 hour lounge is a nice amenity. The rooms are small, though, even for London and there was a Wi-Fi glitch over the weekend --- not the hotel's fault, their service provider didn't offer weekend repair --- a minor inconvenience alleviated by their business center's facilities. The location is great and our room was, as before, completely quiet. Breakfast is equivalent to full English, plus cheese, meats, etc., offered buffet style. A good value in pricy London.

    « Good hotel »

After reading some of the reviews we were a little worried about having booked to stay here. However this hotel is absolutely fine, yes the rooms are a little small but they are clean, fully functional, quiet and cosy. The staff were helpful when needed. There is a great pub, cafe and restaurant close by and there are lovely walks to take in Hyde Park, we saw lots of things we hadn't seen before staying over this side of the park. The tube is close and it's not a far walk to Kensington Palace and Marble Arch. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days away.

    « A very good hotel »

This was our fifth stay in this hotel. It is perfectly situated a few minutes from Lancaster gate tube station. It is a five minutes walk from Heathrow express and around 20 minutes to Oxford Street through Hyde Park. The hotel itself is rather small and the rooms are renovated with wooden floors and nice bathrooms. The breakfasts are getting better and better and everything I like to eat is there. The breakfast staff is also very nice. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, air con is working. I always book directly with the hotel. I will return again next year...

    « Great location »

First and most important, the bed was comfortable! Second, the room - a single - was not extraordinarily tiny! (I would request a larger room when you make the booking - I met a couple who said their room was like a postage stamp.) It's very convenient to Lancaster Gate Tube station and to buses. Bayswater Road itself is very noisy, but Mornington is up a block and very calm and quiet. Almost across the street from Hyde Park. A comfortable walk to Selfridges and Marks and Spencers on Oxford and to Harrods through the Park. The hotel was pleasant and clean. I would recommend you call and book directly with the hotel. When I called to book, the gal told me to use expedia. I found out that the hotel had a special going if you called directly. All I can think is she didn't want to be bothered to make a reservation. The two front desk staff assured me that direct booking was possible. It was 10 or 12 pounds for breakfast. I went one morning and after just grabbed breakfast at cafes. I don't really like the full English breakfast - and the eggs are too runny and I miss American bacon. Shrug. So it made sense for me to eat elsewhere. You might enjoy it. The front elevator was out the last two days, but they have two elevators so it worked out. Nice area for drinks off the lobby. I will stay here again.

« Good location adjacent to Hyde Park »

Choose this hotel because it is a Best Western and close to downtown London and major attractions, Hyde Park, Tower of London, Parliament Buildings Buckingham Palace ...Westminster Abbey and the London Eye

    4
    « Great hotel »

I was in a single room which was clean and quiet - it was cosy but no more than you'd expect from a single. I was running Royal Parks Half the next morning so had emailed the hotel ahead to ask if I could have a particularly quiet room. They replied to say no problem and I did get a great room away from everything. All in all a lovely hotel with friendly staff.

    2
    « Adequate, but that's about it. »

Tiny rooms, paper thin walls, stingy on towels and soap, rock hard mattresses and worn down pillows. There is nothing special about this hotel. It was also far from the tourist attractions...needing to rely on bus/train. One other thing that irritated me about this place is that each day housekeeping placed the shower head facing out. Too tired in the morning to pay attention, it sprayed me directly in the face and got all over the floor. If you just want a basic bed and a clean room, it'll pass those requirements. If you want anything else, book elsewhere.

« Someone stole my coat there »

I left my coat on the room closet, I did the check out, and when I came back 3 hours later to take it, they couldn't find it. It wasn't at the room, neither at lost&found desk. I stayed around one hour waiting for someone to find it and finally they didn't give me any explanation.... So I strongly don't recommend this hotel in London.

    4
« Good breakfast but avoid room 110 »

A small nice hotel on a quiet street. I particularly appreciated being given a room already at 10h00, I needed to fresh up for a conference speech two hours later. Excellent breakfast. Only complaint is for room 110 where there is a door to the next room, badly isolated, conversation could be heard as if persons were in my room.

    « Not impressed »

My sister and I booked rooms at the same time. We each requested the same thing. Double occupancy. She got a room with a sofa and bathtub. They also gave them a robe and slippers. We got none of that. By the third night we asked for soap because we used up what we had. It was ignored. We also weren't told that breakfast is included only with direct bookings. So no breakfast because we booked through hotels dot com. We blame both places for not making that information clear. We won't stay here again.

« Good location, good breakfast but....... »

We stayed at this hotel and found it very convenient, with a clean but small twin room. The breakfast was good and dining room staff were very friendly. It was our first time in London and the help from the reception staff was nil, no smile or warm greeting, and not interested in helping us with any tourist information. The night manager came across as sarcastic. What a pity as it is in a great location.

« Dead, dirty, need so much fix hotel »

It should be called dead hotel.. No SMILE at all from all the employees, No even thank you, good bye, good morning.. I stayed there for 5 nights it was very bad experience. After 3 days of my stay The front desk manager Jurate R told me to (the water in toilet is over load the bathrooms floor, so try to not let the water get out to the floor) I told her that ( if i open the water to take a shower 10 minutes exactly and the water is starting to going out to the floor, please you need to fix it) and i've 2 children as she saw and booked so we need at least 30 minutes for all of us for taking a shower. And thats everything happened.. At check out she came and told me( I will charge you because you over load the bathroom which effects the two rooms downstairs) I said ( no you can't charge me because you never fix or told me about any charges if anything happened) She replied (yes i warn you two times, and we sent a paper to your room with your language about the over loaded bathroom) I told her ( you never warn me, and never sent any paper under my name to the room, you only said to try to not let the water go out!) After all of this she said (yes I will charge you I have your carte) !!! Without any signing paper from my side, everything taped in the video records... I will sue you from taking 400£(for two nights) without my permission, without any right... This is the end of this story

« Lovely place, good location, great breakfast »

Upon arrival at Paddington station, from Heathrow, we chose to walk to the hotel, about a 10 minute walk. Though not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown London, it was quiet and relaxing. No traffic noises. Nice neighbourhood. Only a short walk to the closest Underground station, so really easy to get any where. A short block from Hyde Park. Many restaurant choices only a few blocks away. Our room was not quite ready, so we enjoyed a drink in the bar adjacent to the lobby. The hotel is not huge, not sure how many rooms, but seemed very intimate, more like a boutique property. Our room was clean, overlooking the front of the hotel, and while not quite spacious by North American standards, it was adequate for our needs. The bathroom was a bit small, but all we needed. The starring feature for us was definitely the daily breakfast, and the breakfast room staff. There was everything you could want: hot and cold, juices, coffees, teas, eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, fruit, muesli, dry cereals, oatmeal, meats and cheeses and the list goes on. When speaking to the breakfast room staff, we mentioned we were leaving too early the following morning to enjoy one final meal. They asked what time we would be leaving and we explained we were heading back to Heathrow to meet friends and to continue on to Southampton for a cruise, so we'd be leaving about 5am. No problem, they promised a boxed breakfast would be waiting. And it was, fruits, meat and cheese sandwiches and freshly brewed coffee, all boxed and ready to go with us. As for the hotel in general, the décor was understated, dark woods and rich fabrics. Our room was always clean, toiletries replenished daily. If we needed anything, we had only to call the front desk, or, in my husband's case, stop into the bar (to get ice for drinks in our room). I booked this room using Aeroplan miles so it did not cost us anything, but we did see the bill, and had we been paying, we felt is was reasonable. We would highly recommend this hotel.

    « Single room 504 »

Room and bathroom are too small, none of rooms except suites have fridges. Too stuffy and not properly air-conditioned. Misleading advert in the lift : Book directly and get free breakfast and 10% off. Breakfast is not free and costs 15 pounds . I booked directly via Best Western but they did not offer me breakfast saying it is only for some phone bookings or directly with Mornington hotel. So, who owns and controls it? Best Western? Are you still the BEST? There is also problem with a quantity of sockets and wifi on Apple products works via connection through apologin.com and disconnects. Bed was really too small even for a single person and not very comfortable. Rooms are too close to each other and you can hear doors slammed by your neigh boroughs and their conversations. Late checkout 10 pounds per hour!!! Can't believe hotel in a such a huge demand:-) For price 161 pounds for 2 nights I was expecting much more. Good things: newspapers availability in the lobby, smiley staff, location is near Lancaster Gate tube station and near the Hyde Park where you can have a pleasant jogging or walk.

    « not bad »

you walk through the door into a great little reception area , polite and helpful staff , we were asked for a credit card and made to put our pin in even though we had pre payed , wasn't too sure about this but got a receipt upon leaving , our room was very nice , a little tight around the bed but I managed , a more unstable person might struggle a little . bathroom was good with a great shower. breakfast was fantastic , the only downside would be the noise from the room above , this is due to the wooden floors within the building ,the location is spot on

    « Stupidly NOISY »

I have an interview tomorrow in London, hence my stay. I chose this hotel due to the free Wifi to do my interview research. The wifi keeps breaking and blocking me out and i dont know why (they said its because i am using something illegal, but i have no idea what? All i am researching is effective marketing campaigns). Reception didn't know either and said i need to switch off my laptop and wait for half an hour so I can't do any work for that period of time. My room is extremely noisy. Every time someone comes up in the lift, it makes a very loud, unnecessary noise. I can hear literally EVERYTHING the room next door are doing, including playing loud music. I rung reception to ask them to turn it down, they turned it down but not enough, what am i meant to do? It basically felt like I was basically in the same room with these people, i can hear what they are saying, where they are walking and especially the hair dryer. I am really worried if and when they come home tonight drunk and noisy. These rooms aren't sound proof. There is also a very loud noise coming from the bathroom? the pipes? I'm not sure. but it is not normal My room is right outside a pub, everyone is outside and is so noisy. I asked to move to a quieter room, but reception say there is absolutely nothing they can do. they gave me ear plugs, told me to drink coffee and my interview isn't that early anyway in the morning. Ive also rung up to see if there is anything they can do - they offered me a refund on my room if i can find somewhere else to say. if "I" can find somewhere else to stay?! why should i have to find that place to stay. I am so busy trying to revise for my interview that I don't have more time to waste trying to find somewhere else to stay, why can't they do it?! Ive already wasted enough time and my money.

    « Really good again! »

I chose to stay here again after flying into Heathrow. As with my last stay, the hotel looked just like the website and the room was comfortable. I chose a single room this time, and I was surprised at how big it was - I'd been expecting a bit of a prison cell since it is in a listed building, but there was ample room for me and my 3 bags. I was woken in the night by a loud guest, however the front desk were very responsive in asking them to be a bit more considerate, and I soon got back off to sleep again. The breakfast is buffet style, however it is worth mentioning that there are other items that can be prepared for you - make sure you look at the menu before you choose from the buffet! My fried eggs must have been sitting out for a while and were inedible, and had I realised earlier, I would have asked for poached eggs from the menu. I would have liked to see the choice of granola in the cereal section, but there is a good selection on offer. I would definitely look at staying at the Mornington again in the future.

    « Fantastic stay »

This hotel is well placed just a 2 minute walk from Lancaster Gate underground station. Helpful and welcoming staff - I was able to check in early as the room was ready. Receptionist phoned about 15 mins after we got to our rooms to check all was ok. Very clean room with everything you needed - plenty of plug sockets, hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board. Very quiet. Not a huge room but big enough. Breakfast was excellent - a wide range of foods available on the buffet but you could also order porridge, eggs, omelette, etc. Really enjoyed our stay here - great hotel, very close to Hyde Park and the underground system. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

« Can't beat the location for access to London! »

Have stayed at the Mornington for many years. Advent of the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station enhances its location for international travelers. 15 minutes on the Express and a ten minute walk and you're at the hotel--just a few steps from the Central Line and across the street from Hyde Park. The hotel's rooms are small, though some on lower floors have been updated and are larger. Room 101, for example, is a two-story loft--really nice! Not a lot of frills--art on walls, etc--but functional. Unusually for London, weather during our stay demanded AC--effectiveness varied by room. Breakfast is both full English and Scandinavian. Staff quite eager to please--handled luggage issues effectively and worked hard to get us into rooms as soon as possible, given our early morning arrival. Will definitely continue to return.

« A smart, comfortable night's stay right next to Hyde Park and the Central Line »

I stayed at the West Western when my usual hotel (Corus Hyde Park) was unavailable. It is more expensive but the rooms are bigger and the breakfast is very slightly better. This place gives you a comfortable night in a great location. You get what you pay for!

« Great location, wonderful staff »

We did have another hotel booked for our holiday, but it turned out to be a disaster so we had to find last minute room for us. So, we booked this hotel as it was only a short walk away from our original hotel. It wasn't the cheapest option, but it was worth every penny. We had very modern, small room with nice and clean bath room. Only minor thing was that our room was next to lift, but when you got used to that it wasn't a problem at all. Besides of that room was very quiet. Staff was friendly whole time during our stay and they made sure we got everything we needed. Lobby bar was just lovely. All and all we had great time!

« Expensive stay for a small room but staff good »

This was booked as part of a 50th birthday surprise and at £150 it wasn't cheap. We were disappointed with the size of the room with barely any room to move around the bed, we asked if there was a larger room available as it was for a special event, the staff were polite and gave us two other options which were slightly bigger but the view was a noisy air conditioning vent/pipe and no natural light. We ended up staying where we were originally. The room, though small was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and 11am checkout was welcome. The pictures on the internet focus on the extensive lobby and library room but don't be fooled by all the space it is worth checking when you book what size the room is and what your view is as you could be very disappointed

« Great place to stay »

Location ideal for central London Kensington Gardens just across the road. Tube station 2/3 min walk Lancaster Gate. Helpful staff, clean, quiet, great breakfast ... Rooms may be small, but more than sufficient .....

« Great location, upgraded room »

I was upgraded (for free) to an exec suite - this was most welcome as I'd stayed in one of their (much) smaller single rooms previously. The room was on 2 levels (bedroom, on first floor, bathroom and 'lounge' on ground). There was tons of space. Didn't try the bar o rrestaurant, but there are some small convenience shops and pubs nearby. Great location for Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate tube.

    5
« Excellent, affordable place to stay in London »

This hotel was surprisingly nice. My single room was spacious and very clean and updated. Hair dryer, iron, drycleaning options - everything you'd expect from a nice hotel. It is just a few steps from Hyde Park, a block from the Lancaster Gate tube and ~10 minute walk to Paddington Station. Highly recommend, especially if you get the price that I did (under 100 pounds).

« A noisy start but all in all a pleasant stay »

We had room 506 initially. A small room with no view. But the major issue was the tapping noise in the room which was very noticeable late evening and early morning It disturbed our sleep so we gave up after 2 nights and asked to change room. We got a larger room at the back with a nice view overlooking a pub. We were not disturbed by any noise after the change. Both rooms were recently refurbished and clean. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good location near tube and Hyde Park and well away from disturbing traffic.

« Good location but small rooms »

The thing I was surprised over was that their breakfast was bigger and better then I thought. The location is good, not far from Lancaster Gate underground, otherwise the area is mostly hotels, two pubs and a few restaurants. The room was small and did not have a workplace as it said in the description and I ended up on lower ground in a small room that was like London-a bit damp.

    « Pleasant stay »

This hotel cca 10 min walk from Paddington (direct train to airport) is quiet street near from Hyde park. Old style viktorian house with small rooms. With respekt to size is room enough furnished. For breakfast is good choice of meals. Hotel is clean, staff is polite

    « Girls' Weekend Away »

Spacious room with King & single beds & lovely private terrace. Beds are very comfortable with great pillows. Easy walk to restaurants and bars in Mornington. Only issue was noisy cleaning staff, but it was 10am so we should have been out of bed !! As its only an hour on the freeway from Melbourne, it's a great place for a lazy weekend away. This was our 4th stay & looking forward to staying again.

    5
    « Exemplary service »

This was a great choice for our base during a 3week trip. Three stays and excellent service. The staff were helpful, polite and recognized us on each return. They accommodated us after a noisy air con kept us awake and a shower head came loose by reducing our rate. They kindly stores bags for us, assisted us with laundry. The breakfast is very well done and more than ample. I'd return here over and over. The location is just right.

    4
« Quite close to the city centre »

We stayed for 3 nights. The room was small but sufficient for a short stay. There were: ironing board, basic toiletries and tea/coffee facilities and a biscuit added every day. The room was clean. Don't expect a nice view from the window. Lancaster Gate station is within a few minute-walk as well as Hyde Park. Oxford Street is 10-15 minutes away on foot. Quite good hotel in a quite good location. Don't rely on the reception to call the taxi. It didn't work. Free wi-fi in the room.

« Nice room but poor service »

When we arrived at just before 2pm on the Sunday afternoon, we were not greeted at reception but waited and I had to ask to be served - we were told our room was not ready as previous guests were 'still in the room' and to come back later. We advised we were at a concert in Hyde Park and that could mean 11pm and the advice was to 'check in then'. Instead we went to grab a bite to eat and returned at 3pm to be advised the room was still not ready - it was finally released at 4pm. The room itself was clean and comfortable and quiet - the bed was big and comfortable - had a cracking nights sleep and the shower had a lot of early morning power to wake me up! Breakfast was in the basement and the staff member serving could not find our booking, and tried to say we had no breakfast - I had to insist this was paid - she found our room and then just pointed at a table and ordered us to sit there and then left us. We found our own way around the breakfast offerings which were short of eggs, bacon, sausage and white bread. I also could not get a refill of coffee from the staff member. The room is great, the staff service left a lot to be desired.

« Perfect! Loved this hotel »

We booked the Mornington Hotel directly through the hotel website back in April 2016 ready for our trip to London to see Carole King at Hyde Park on 3rd July. We got an amazing deal - £133 for a double room for 2 including breakfast (advance saver rate). I was impressed to receive - a week before our visit - a lovely email from Jurate the operations manager asking if there was anything his team could do to make our stay special. I replied to thank him explaining that our visit to London was to see Carole King - a treat from my husband for my upcoming birthday and how excited I was! On arrival at the hotel I was wished happy birthday by the check in lady which made me smile. We were early so returned after lunch to check in fully. We were allocated room 106 on the first floor and the housekeeping gentleman greeted us as we came out of the lift and helped us locate our room (nice touch). Inside the room was a printed note to wish me a happy birthday along with a complimentary bottle of prosecco on ice and towels on the bed shaped as an elephant!! I felt very special indeed and very touched at the effort the hotel had gone too! The room was very spacious, modern, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom had 2 x bathrobes and pairs of slippers which was an added treat I wasn't expecting. Lots of lovely features - a mini bar that wasn't too expensive (£3.50 for bottle of Stella) and doubles as a mini fridge, lots of toiletries, various lighting options around the bed (dimmer, reading light etc), professional hair dryer, air conditioning?.just lovely! The breakfast was seriously impressive too - so much choice and good quality too (Wilkins jam, boxes of Kelloggs cereal, nutella etc). You can also order omelettes, porridge, pancakes, other coffee options (Latte etc) for no additional cost. The staff in the hotel (especially check in) were lovely and you could tell they genuinely care about your stay. The hotel is extremely close to Lancaster Gate tube station on the Circle line - very quick and easy to get back to Euston the next day. It is also pretty much opposite Hyde Park so perfect for our purpose. I would stay here again in a heart beat - a real gem of a hotel!

    « 3 days in London »

Hotel was very well presented and had recently been re-furbished. The location was perfect in that it was pretty central. (Close to Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate Underground Station). Notting Hill was also within walking distance which meant we were also close to a number of good eating places

    « Well situated »

Room was all we needed for a one night stay, clean, smaller than some we have stayed in but sufficient. For what you get the price is high but that is London prices. The reception staff were polite and helpful. If you don't know London the hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from Lancaster Gate Station on the Central Line, which in a few minutes on the tube takes you to Oxford Circus and the main shops. We were going to a concert at the Albert Hall, it was a pleasant walk across Hyde Park (c.25 minutes). Hyde Park is just a few minutes walk away, we went to the Serpentine Café which has a lovely view across the lake. For breakfast we went to The Craven in Craven Terrace around the corner from the hotel so can't comment on the hotel food. We wanted to try Sheila's for breakfast in the same road but that was full.

« Very handy to the Lancaster Gate "tube" station. »

The breakfasts were good but aside from the staff there we found the service orientation of the hotel wanting, particularly the desk clerks. The room was a bit on the small side but adequate. The shower could use a door so that the bathroom floor did not get as much water.

    « Nice Hotel »

Hotel was nice and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast selection was plentiful and delicious. Central location! Staff was nice and cheerful. Room was a bit small. But overall pleasant stay. Would not mind staying there in the future.

« Nice Hotel - becareful which room! »

Hotel is pleasant, staff are very friendly. Rooms are very small, but of a reasonable standard - bed was very comfy. If you want any sleep avoid 407 or similar rooms on other floors at all costs as the door adjoins the lift and the lift shaft runs behind the wardrobe. Sleep was impossible until about 3am and the noise started again at 5am.

    « Dirty linen »

Got one of the little rooms in the cellar. So crowded one had to play tetris with the bag to get in. Linen was dirty and it took a while to get that fixed. Got a refund in the end. Breakfast was pretty mediocre.

« Lovely Few Days in London »

Stayed here before and love the hotel - all staff were lovely - especially Edyta in the restaurant for breakfast. Room was smashing - only complaint would be both Saturday and Sunday morning the fried breakfast wasn't hot - baked beans only aired and putting onto cold plates didn't help! Apart from that - smashing stay and will definitely come back.

« Small but clean and VERY comfortable bed »

I was booked into another hotel but ended up here late at night. Checked in quickly and clear directions to room given. I was on first floor with a The Mitre below which was a little noisy and it meant I had to keep my window shut. But the air con was effective and quiet. TV wasn't worked - reception attended very quickly. The room was quite small and cramped but it did for short nights sleep - wouldn't like to stay in there for any longer. Bed very comfortable, even if you could only get in from one side.... Shower hot and large towels. Would stay again if a bigger room was on offer.

« Clean, comfortable and tasteful hotel with delightful staff and a great breakfast »

Only a few minutes walk from the Lancaster Gate tube station and virtually bordering Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, this hotel is very well located. The hotel exudes class and cleanliness from the reception, to the dining areas to the bedrooms. The staff were very friendly and professional, the decor attractive and the room well put together. The bed was comfy and the bathroom in great working order. There was a safe, tea service, ironing board and other such accoutrement's as you would expect to find. Breakfast was tasty and split between continental and the classic English fry. Both were good quality and did not disappoint. Staff in the dining area were very efficient. Also, it was very nice to see that diners could squeeze their own fresh orange juice. Overall all we had a great time and feel that it was good value for money and therefore can easily recommend it.

    « Brilliant staff »

Great business traveller hotel, great location. Two special mentions for Domante and Carmen, two girls who were both very helpful and pleasant, not easy when your in the same place for three nights, but they made the stay very enjoyable Thanks Domante and Carmen

    « Generally pleased »

This was just a last minute planned weekend break can't fault staff or room etc , however food other than breakfast non existent, all that was available was minimal choice at lunchtime or what was described as something they would put in the microwave, or meals they got from an outside supplier but when I asked what was available was told they'd just stopped doing that. Also there was painting being done in parts, but no wet paint signs just the smell of paint, I only found out the walls had been painted was when I brushed my hand against a wall.

    « Delightful stop over »

I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. It's a comfortable hotel, one where you feel at home immediately...lovely comfortable chairs and couches dotted around the reception area, the breakfast was exceptional - including the service. My room, albeit at the back of the hotel, had everything I could wish for and a fabulously comfortable bed. The toiletries were lovely as well. I came back one afternoon and found a lovely swan on my bed, made from the towels. What a lovely gesture from the young cleaning lady!! The decor was nice, the shower great. The location is pretty good as well, 2 tube stations and the bus route in easy walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay there.

« I love this hotel for every reason! »

I recently spent 6 nights at this hotel in London Bayswater area. It is my third stay at this hotel and I see no reason to stay anywhere else! The hotel is very convenient to every attraction in London and a short walk from Paddington Station where you can catch the Healthrow Express train and be at the airport in 15 minutes. Lancaster Gate Tube station is just around the corner giving you access to the Central Line. Many wonderful restaurants are in the immediate vicinity or on The Queensway.

« Value for money & excellent location »

The BW Mornington is quite a gem of a little hotel in central London. Just a stone's throw away from Lancaster Gate tube station, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, it is also within walking distance to Paddington tube station, with access to Heathrow Express/Connect and a variety of cafes and restaurants. The hotel is modern and well maintained. The lobby and the adjacent Library/Bar are cosy and chic. There is free wifi throughout and a breakfast room and a small gym. I found all the staff consistently friendly, attentive, thoughtful, professional and efficient, which is certainly noteworthy! Although the single room I had (305) was the smallest on the floor, it was more than adequate for a solo traveller staying for three nights. The room was very clean and housekeeping certainly did an excellent job every day. There was enough space to move around, with a rack to put a huge piece of luggage, as well as an armchair, a work desk and another chair. It also helped that the double-door cupboard had full length mirrors which created the illusion of space. There wasn't much of a view (the window was facing a dome-like roof/structure), but my priority was to have a quiet room for a good night's rest every night. The single bed and pillows were very comfortable and I slept like a log every night, waking up well-rested and refreshed each morning. Complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and toiletries were provided. The shower had just the right pressure, and the towels were absorbent and of good quality. Also included were an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and safe. A really pleasant surprise was the buffet breakfast. It was sumptuous and delicious. It's either included in the accommodation package or costs only an additional £10/- for hotel guests who booked their room without breakfast. Some minor observations: The flat screen TV in the room had only local channels but then again, cable TV shouldn't be a priority for most who are visiting London. Unlike most models in standard hotel chains, the in-room safe was a bit tricky to operate. The 24-hour room service had a limited menu from around 10pm. It just so happened that I didn't have time for dinner on my second night and ended up ordering a tiny box of vegetarian noodles at the 24-hour reception desk. It is also a pity that the hotel is located just next to a building apparently perpetually covered with scaffolding and this is a bit of an eyesore. However, apart from that, the BW Mornington is a really lovely value-for-money little place in a very central location that ticks all the right boxes. It seems to be a very well-kept secret that ought to be shared. Highly recommended!

« Very small room, dissapointing »

Stayed with family. Bad points: Rooms tiny...bathroom even tinier...shower holder not working...bar room service (food) not available as short of staff so the only alternative would have been to buy from an outside takeaway (1 hour delay). Good points: Helpful staff in reception, and during breakfast...nice fresh breakfast...newspapers...lovely pillows and tea/coffee facilities in the room. It is a good 20-30 minute walk to the actual Marble Arch. We used Park Lane parking lot so a bit of a trek.

    « Amazing Location. »

Good Value Average Hotel. Not your typical chain hotel. Buffet breakfast is excellent. Breakfast room staff are all most welcoming. Very attentive to your needs. Paulina is especially personable, professional and helpful. I became ill while on vacation and needed to see a doctor. Front desk immediately suggested I go to St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington. Arranged for taxi. With in brief time, everything was organized and I was at Emergency & Accident Wing of Hospital. Without the kind assistance of front desk staff I wouldn't have known what to do. For that I thank them kindly.

« Very nice cozy hotel with English breakfast »

Very nice cozy hotel with excellent service and atmosphere both in the reception and in the restaurant. Rooms have woodden floor, there is possibility to open window. Hotel is close to Hyde Park, underground, English pubs, in a very nice area. English breakfast, fresh squezed juice and cappucino included - rare things in London e.g. in Dorsett Shepherds Bush you have to pay £4 for double espresso. If u booki directly you will get 10% discount and breakfast for free.

Once you stayed there you always wanna come back. Really Nice and dedicated staff, clean rooms With everything you need. Lovely breakfast, and you can walk to Oxford Street, Hyde Park and Notting Hill. I`ll be back :-)

    « Great location, staff & service »

Right across the street from Hyde Park, walking distance to great pubs & restaurants and the awesome Portobello Saturday market. Loved the breakfast and esp. servers Paulina and Ivelina, who take special care of guests on an individual basis. Room was clean and comfortable. We will stay again next time we visit London.

    « Wonderful »

The Mornington was wonderful! It was easy to find and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a great value. There are steps up to the entrance and and steps to our room but there is an elevator inside. The room was a little cramped but was updated and nice. Quiet and safe neighborhood, close to Hyde Park for walks or jogging. The tube is just around the corner, tour bus pick ups about 15 blocks away, and railway from Heathrow about 10 blocks away.

    « Choose somewhere better. »

Possibly the worst night sleep we have had. Room 506 - there was a constant noise coming from outside the room up until about 2 am. It sounded like a boiler noise, when we questioned this the lady on the desk didn't seem bothered or offered an explanation. Won't be staying here again.

    « Unfortunately A noisy night »

I have previously visited this hotel without issue but, on this occasion, I passed a night with some disturbance. The check in was swift and the receptionist was very welcoming. My room #112 was small but quite adequate and in very good order. Unfortunately it adjoined #113 and there appeared to be an inter connecting door which meant sound travelled easily between the two rooms. The guests in 113 started talking from 22.30 and we're still talking at 00.10 when I visited reception and organised a room change. The receptionist was very understanding and helpful and I was soon installed in room #209. Unfortunately I was awoken at 02.00, probably by the guest in the room above, who appeared to be moving the bed, causing a loud banging noise and then opening and closing the door. This procedure was repeated at least one more time. Eventually I was able to get to sleep again around 03.00. In the morning the included breakfast was excellent and the staff in the dining room most helpful and welcoming, as is the norm at this establishment. It was a shame that the quality of the service was marred by other guests being somewhat inconsiderate. Will it prevent me visiting again? Probably not.

« The convenience and comfort of the Mornington Hotel »

We chose the Mornington because we are members of 'Best Western' and we knew that the standard would be good and we were not disappointed. Reception was efficient, the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The accessibility of Hyde Park, Oxford Street , easy transport and Paddington station made our experience a very rewarding one.

    « Great location!!!!! »

Clean, bathrooms are great. Customer service is great!!! We had to wait for our room to get ready and we were offered with complimentary drinks while we were waiting...room is a decent size and quite and tranquile hotel. Definitely I recommended Best Western Mornington hotel..??

« Don't let the pictures fool you »

Nothing special at all. In the pictures this looks like a nice boutique hotel, however in reality it is just a standard chain hotel. I got an upgrade which meant that I got a massive room in the basement. Location is good however there are so many better hotels in London.

« Nice stay, pleasant staff, clean comfortable room »

Stayed here for a couple nights before the start of a business trip. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Mine had a couch and TV downstairs and a bed up on a loft. If I was older or not very mobile, this would not have been a good room at all as the staircase was narrow so make sure to check with the staff if you have limited mobility or problems with stairs. The bed was comfortable and the rooms clean. Location is good and right across the street from Hyde Park. For me, it was a little far out from other things I like to do and see (I usually stay in mayfair or knightsbridge) but transportation is convenient (tube right around the corner) and you can get to Paddington station with a short walk. Super convenient if you are coming in from the airport for a night or two. Would definitely stay here again - price for room for what I got was great for London. Oh and the lobby area looked pretty nice too. Had lots of chairs to hang out in and a little bar.

    « Amazing Hotel! »

Amazing Hotel and good location, close to Lancaster Gate and Paddington stations, Oxford street is very close even by walk. Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations with restaurants near by. Would recommend this Hotel and will stay there next time.

« Inavailability of basic amenity »

Whilst the room is very small and basic, we were not provided with hotel slippers. The room given to us was facing walls very near to the kitchen exhaust. Thanks to that we are waking up very early daily because were disturbed by the sound the exhaust fan is making. On one of the nights, the emergency alarm was activated in the middle of the night (maybe 0200hrs or 0300hrs?), it wasn't deactivated until after 10-15minutes. No hotel staff contacted us whether to evacuate the hotel nor to update us on the actual situation. We then decided to call up the operator and no one picks up. Our call was finally answered by the Receptionist (there were speed dial buttons on the telephone) informing us that it was a false alarm. Could have handled the situation better.

    « Brilliant hotel!!! »

I like to travel in style, I like high quality hotels and I like to be spoiled as a guest. I entered the hotel and I knew that I will have a pleasant stay, because as we all know, everything starts at the reception and I've been very well welcomed by Marius and the other lovely receptionist, I don't remember her name but she was lovely and helpful as well. The hotel is lovely, clean, the location is perfect. The staff is great!!!! Especially Marius, he offered us the best costumer services. I will definitely come back and I will recommend this hotel to all my friends. The only thing that is missing is a proper restaurant tho, the bar is lovely but a restaurant would be great. It was perfect! Many thanks to you all for making my stay so pleasant.

« Fab location, best breakfast, lovely stay! »

This hotel has a fab location, so close to Paddington station and tube which was handy as we didn't have to walk far with our luggage. The closest tube station is Lancaster Gate, which was about a 2 minute walk away, meaning you're never far from anywhere in London if you stay at this hotel! The staff are super friendly and accommodating, especially the breakfast staff! The breakfast was the best breakfast I think I've ever had, there's so much selection and the food is amazing, I would probably go back there just for the breakfast alone! The rooms are lovely and have everything you need, the only downside I would say is that I had a single room towards the back of the hotel and I had no views at all as there was something blocking the whole window, however my mum who stayed in a single room towards the front had a view so it was just the room I was staying in. However, this didn't affect me much. The rooms also contained air con which was a nice touch as usually hotels in London don't have that. The sleep was also great, lovely comfy beds and it was so quiet as its away from a busy road. The hotel is also right next to Hyde Park, which was lovely to walk through and so nice it being so close! Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in London, especially if you're getting the train to Paddington as its so convenient. I'll definitely be staying here again in the future!

One of the Best Hotels I have ever been to. Super Clean and the Staff are friendly. The Breakfast was out of this world. Absolutely Delicious. The Ladies serving and fixing the breakfast were so friendly and nice. They went beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted. They made our Sister's Abroad vacation AMAZING! I miss those Girls!

    « Good Mornington! »

What a great place to wake up in London... Close by Hyde Park for an easy stroll... I was traveling with my adult son, so two affordable rooms with just a single bed was a comfortable alternative. The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood close to the park and subway stations.

« Excellent location, service and breakfast! »

I am actually a Londoner writing this! Stayed for a weekend in January for work. Top Location! This hotel is located in Central London, it is only a short walk to Lancaster Gate tube station. A slightly longer walk to Paddington train/tube station. I took the Heathrow Express to Paddington and walked to the hotel with my suitcases without any problem. Top service! From checking in/out to using the bar the service was consistently excellent. Had a friend joining me for some whisky at the reception and that was excellent, too. Top breakfast! Probably ate too much and drank too much coffee! Lots of hot and cold options to choose from. They had newspapers as well so I could read the news while enjoying my food. Also bumped into a maintenance guy in the lift and he was super polite and friendly, too! I had a room on the top floor and it was great!

« Thank you Mornington Team »

We came to London to celebrate my daughters birthday. My daughter was over the moon as when we entered the room, there were lots of balloons and elephants from towels. Reception has left a lovely message in the room and wished a happy birthday to my daughter. I would really like to say a big thank you for reception team, who organised this lovely surprise for my daughter, She keeps asking me when we will go back, and I must say Mornington will be my favorite place to stay in London. I highly recommend this hotel.

    5
« Good hotel, good location, lovely staff »

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of March and were allocated a large twin room. As we were in London as a treat for my daughter's birthday the reception staff presented us with a fruit plate and 2 small bottles of prosecco in our room - a really nice touch. Could not fault anything given the price we paid for staying at this hotel. The reception, housekeeping and breakfast staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast (manager I think, a lady from Poland) - she was exceptionally helpful. As previously mentioned in reviews - excellent location to Lancaster Gate tube station and Hyde Park. Would not hesitate to recommend.

    « Just The Best"Best Wester" »

I stayed in quite a few best western hotels, however this hotel was the best. I arrived and straight away was recognized that I am diamond member, so was offered and upgraded to a lovely room. In the room I found a plate of fruits and welcome letter from the manager. Breakfast was great and I really enjoyed it. Not expensive at all for full english breakfast and if you book directly with hotel, you can get even for free. Staff at the reception and breakfast room was very friendly! I highly recommend this hotel and this will be my favourite hotel to stay when I am in London next time.

    « Wow 4 star plus!!!!!!! »

The hotel is in excellent location, the tube station is vey close. I stayed with my family this weekend and we were really looked after. We arrived on Saturday and instead of family room we were upgraded to a suite room. The room was clean and sofa was opened for children. They really enjoyed it, as they had a separate TV downstairs. Reception staff was extremely helpful and helped me to book tickets to the show and some other attractions. We arrived very early and one of receptionist organised a room in 30 min. Thank you very much for an excellent service and we are looking forward to come again!

« Excellent stay and reception staff »

I just came back from London and I was staying for 3 nights in this hotel. I must say one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Reception staff demonstrated professional attitude and helped me with all questions I had. I would like to say a special thank you for 2 girls who were working in the morning during my stay, there was nothing too much to ask for them to do for me. Excellent service! They upgraded my room to one of the biggest room in the hotel and while we were were waiting for the room I was offered coffee in the lobby. Nice touch. I will definitely come back.

« Nice clean hotel close to Paddington station. »

This hotel has a nice quiet location close to Hyde Park and a short walk to paddington station if you wish to take the Heathrow express. The single rooms are a little smal but clean and comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful.

    5
« Would stay there agin »

Hotel in excellent location, close to tube station and the tourist areas. Staff very pleasant. Very nice room, but very hot. Air conditioning was too noisy to be run whilst trying to sleep, and there was a constant hum like the extractor fan in the bathroom running constantly. However would stay there again due to the other factors being so good.

    5
    « Excellent Hotel »

There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. It's in a very good location and just off the main road, so relatively quiet. The staff are friendly and accommodating, especially the ladies who run the breakfast venue. The rooms are not very large, but they are spotless and the beds are very comfortable. The views from the room might not be great - so what - there is plenty of sight-seeing to do. The end of the day I am not coming to London to sit in my room all day! And for the hotel not having a restaurant - are you kidding - there are 100's of places you can eat - all in a one mile radius. The hotel does offer room service and the breakfast for £10 pp is very reasonable for London prices. This hotel is a little gem and next time I'm in London, I will definitely book The Mornington again.

    5
« One of the very good places to stay in London »

Strategically located a few step away from the metro station and Hyde park, very close to Notting Hill. I loved the staff kindness, the room was big enough for us and our 6 years old daughter that had already her sofa bed ready when we arrived. Very clean and comfortable stay. The breakfast is very good also and the library-lobby bar give this hotel a classy and cultural touch. I loved it and will stay again

    3
    « Small rooms »

Taking into account the great location and comfortability Mornington Hotel has the touch, that is why we booked it. After you do check in and you see the room, everything falls down, as the rooms are so tiny. It is hard to move inside the room without touching the furniture and dropping some items. I asked at the reception to change my room, it was summer time so they were full and was no option to change it, they said all the rooms were the same, so no complains. Friendly staff, quick and outstanding service.

    4
    « Excellent fr a short stay »

The hotel has a very good position, 3 minutes from the metro, 1 minute the Hyde Park. The room was however much smaller then expected after the photos (smaller then in a Best Western in Paris!) but it was absolutly clean, double bed pushed to the wall from one side, but very comfortable with nice bed linen. Staff absolutly helpful, very kind! We have stayed other BW hotels earlier, but this was the first time that we tried breakfast which is normally very expensive but hier we had a good last minute deal through booking incl. breakfast, so we tried this time and it was first class! I can 100% suggest this hotel for 1-2 nights but because of the size of the room perhaps not for a longer stay.

    5
« Beautiful clean hotel with great staff »

Stayed with couple of friends for 2 night in March and loved this beautiful hotel. Rooms were spotless clean, great variety of breakfast and staff was very attentive and helpful at all times. Great location in central and close to Lancaster Gate underground station. Definitely will stay again when back in London.

    « Suits us »

Once or twice a year we need a hotel near the Albert Hall. The Mornington is comfortable and convenient and has helpful staff. We can walk across the park to get to and from the Albert Hall and there are several options for eating and drinking near by. It suits us perfectly.

    3
« Nice rooms and breakfast. Not so friendly staff. »

I stayed there for 3 nights. The room was nice with good breakfast. Hotel is 5 minutes from Lancaster Station. Unfortunately I spent one hour for check in. I reserved one night with reward points and the hotel was not synchronized with the reservation center. They wanted to redeem points again and were angry that BW center had redeemed the points instead bof them. It wasn't a pleasant welcome.

    4
    « An enjoyable 2 nights stay »

The services provided by all staff members are faultless, breakfast very resonable and acceptable, the only improvements would be the size of the double room, these are very small even for London area. Overall very happy with the with the hotel.

    « Excellent stay »

Stayed at this hotel for a week whilst delivering a course in the hotels 'Meeting Room'. Everything about my stay was excellent. The hotels location is great with a wide variety of pubs, bars, restaurants and food outlets within easy walking. The hotel is clean and very comfortable and the staff are great, very friendly and helpful. A big thanks to Paulina and Edyta for looking me and my students, we all thought you were wonderful. Finally, the breakfast was one of the best I have encountered, and I've had a lot of hotel breakfasts! Will definitely be back. We (Maxam Training) are now planning to use the hotel as our main London training delivery centre. Thanks. Graham Lancaster

    « Great location »

Really reasonable price, nice reception area, decor is stylish. The rooms were ok, beds were very comfy and cosy didn't like the wooden flooring, looked cheap and a few minor things such as missing screw covers from the radiators let the splendor down, also our room was right next to the lift shaft and very noisy on the corridors. The location is excellent, a 2 minute walk to Lancaster Gate tube, there's a nice pub down the road and Hyde Park. The breakfast was excellent, good quality foods and a good buffet selection, very good value would visit again.

« Very nice hotel in Bayswater »

This hotel is one of my faourite hotels in London. Very near to Paddington station, when I arrive from Heathrow, near Hyde Park when I want to go for a walk. Also near subway station and bus stop just around the corner in Bayswater Road. The hotel has a nice reception with a "library" bar, and although the rooms may be a little small, I always feel comfortable there. Staff friendly and helpful.

    4
« Very good value and location »

I spent a week in this hotel, and overall I had a good experience. The location is optimal, a couple of blocks from both Paddington Station (Heathrow Express) and Lancaster Gate station (Central line). Staff was friendly and breakfast OK. Rooms are comfortable, although a bit small. The only negative is what seems as an abandoned building just next to the hotel.

    4
« slept good, everything was good. »

at first the room was very cold, but after talking to the receptionist it was clear, the heating was still turned off after checking in, they turned it on and temps were perfect after that. i slept so good there, everything was clean, not even dust behind the bed, noise was down to a minimum except for some kind of ringing alarm noise in the hallway coming on every few minutes in the evening and morning (like the sound you hear in a plane when someone presses the button), maybe someone calling a house keeping phone or something iike that. but it didn't really disturb me. shower was ok, missing a glass panel really, so the floor get very wet, but .. not my problem, put a towel on the floor after showering, fine for me. all in all it was a pleasant stay apart from the ringing bell sound in the hallway (1st floor) and the cold room after checking in. but i would go there again. had a very good sleep there. it wasn't really a real best western, but an independently owned hotel just like the other hotels around the north side of hyde park (lancaster gate, paddington up to queensway and bayswater) franchised by best western. but quite good for that. room wifi was without problems or waiting times while browsing.

    « Love this hotel »

Stayed here for one night and was a little apprehensive beforehand about what it would be like. Totally exceeded my expectations - fabulous location just opp Hyde Park and 5 min walk to tube. Really nice and helpful staff - seemed like they really cared ... quite refreshing !! My room was small, but I knew that beforehand .. its what I paid for. It was really comfortable, clean, well appointed - no probs to stay here for a week. Would recommend and will definitely be staying there again

    « reasonable hotel, comfortable »

this is one of those independently operated BW hotels but with better service. the lift is SMALL. the room is not big but acceptable London size. No bath tub, shower only but also acceptable. Location is OK with Hyde park within walking distance. breakfast is not great but just ok, BW style.

    « ecellent staff »

stayed 3 nights here in February. Comfortable room and very friendly staff. breakfast allowed for fresh squeezed orange juice if you wanted it, first time I had that option offered. great variety for breakfast buffet. could do with warm plates for the hot buffet to improve the experience but great staff polite and attentive

    « Reliable quality »

Hotel is in a brilliant location close to tube and train links. The room was clean, larger than some city centre rooms and equipped for all you need for city exploring - tube & street maps available are nice touches. Breakfast offered good choice and was great quality. Staff friendly and kept everything well topped up and tables tidy

« Very nice hotel but not cheap »

Would recommend the hotel as it was clean and a lovely location next to Hyde Park. The room was small as was the bar but staff were excellent and the breakfast very good. Quote pricey and a bit out of the way but tube very close.

« Great location and room »

Very good for walking from Paddington or to the tube. Nice area - very central. Very clean and quiet hotel. Excellent breakfast. Staff were somewhat helpful, but not overly friendly. Would stay again, though, for the price point and location alone.

« A great location and friendly staff »

This hotel is nicely located close to Hyde Park, and the staff members are very friendly. The room was small and had a fitted carpet, but on the other hand the bed was very good and the hotel is located on a silent street so you can get a good night's sleep.

Pretty good for price as we booked though groupon - so we are happy but if I was paying normal tariff I would have to say the negatives are its typical small London room and not the most comfortable bed although it is all very clean and modern decor in a lovely part of town - right next to Hyde park which we went out at 6am to enjoy mainly to ourselves and then came back to a fantastic breakfast - really good quality massive spread and with the most attentive and friendly waitress' I am yet to encounter in the world - Also the man on the desk advised us it was raining before our morning stroll and gave us a couple of umbrellas - We had a good stay and for the money we paid felt we got good value for money

Hotel is in a fantastic location. Good value for money. Room was a suite and was nice and spacious and very clean. Huge choice at breakfast and was to a high standard, something for everyone. Would use this hotel again and would recommend to family and friends.

    « Fantastic! »

Great Hotel, Lovely staff, average breakfast. Very pleased with the hotel over all and all of the staff were amazing, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite free of charge! Perfect room, everything was clean and tidy with a good view. The room was very hot when we arrived but there was a simple set of instructions for the air conditioning which cooled it right down. Breakfast was mediocre, not enough pastries and not many cereal choices. My main suggestion would be that they cook scrambled egg to order, as it is not very appealing in a large dish which it sits in for the whole morning. Cooked breakfast was very enjoyable but there was not much of it. Overall 9/10, would definitely stay again.

« Small well appointed Hotel next to Hyde Park »

Typical Best Western hotel, clean and well appointed. Friendly staff and cozy bar in the reception area. Rooms good quality well above its 3 star rating. I did not have breakfast, but have used this on a number of occasions, you cannot go wrong, and I have had decent good sized rooms, which is not the norm in most London Hotels. Next to Lancaster Gate Tube ond ten mins walk tp Paddington, but more importantly a stones throw from Hyde Park and Harrods etc. Great stay you will not regret

« Great place to stay »

Nice Hotel with welcoming staff close to a tube station and parks. Our room was small but clean and warm. Breakfast was far better than most and the staff were just spot on. Would stay again without hesitation but would book direct.

    « A taste of More »

We spent for the second time our winter vacation in this hotel. It is located at a quiet street, yet near to an underground train station and very close to Kensington Gardens. The view of the Victorian-Edwardian style of the surrounding buildings adds to the tourist's experience. The staff is kind and efficient. The rooms are not big, but very clean. However, one remark: every tourist has at least either smartphone or tablet or laptop. The need for at least a single, suitable socket is urgent. I had to crawl to charge these devices. So: ?Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the ELECTROMAGNETIC waves!?

Perfect hotel for overnight stay. Less than ten minutes walk for Paddington. Easy check in, friendly staff. Room just right, very clean. Literally just what you would want. Double bed, wardrobe, hairdryer, iron, tea making, TV, lovely bathroom. Couldn't ask for more, fantastic breakfast too. Ten out of ten. Will return. Thanks to the staff, extremely friendly and polite.

« Thank you for your kindness and overwhelming hospitality »

It was my father's 84th birthday and my parents 60th wedding anniversary and the hotel staff were incredibly kind and welcoming to us when we stayed here on Friday February 4th. They upgraded my parents and added little touches to their room which were fantastic. We could not have been treated better. The rooms are extremely comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. i would recommend this hotel to anyone. We ate at Bel Canto just round the corner so it was a perfect location and we were literally two minutes walk from the tube station. We will be back!

« Great value for money »

I wanted a respectable hotel for a London visit for my wife's 40th. Baring in mind you can blow a fortune on a hotel and I don't have a fortune... Choosing was tough...but I'd definitely recommend this in the 110ppppn bracket... Booking direct even got us a great breakfast thrown in- usually £15!! Room was OK size, but well presented, comfortable, quiet Staff were all very polite, and professional And it's very close to the Central line station Lancaster Gate (2minutes walk at most) Would have liked room to be slightly bigger.. But I figure it's very typical size for the price and as everything else was definitely 4-star I'd highly recommend this hotel

« Centrally located, safe, convenient hotel with very accommodating staff »

I stayed in London for five nights during January and found this hotel to be quite centrally located to all I wished to do. I was never more than a 20 minute tube ride away from all the sights and sounds of London, although I will say I also used the bus quite a lot as it's in the perfect location for that as well. There are buses which go into Lancaster Gate (adjacent to that tube station) which take you all the way to Big Ben if you so desire, perfect for a late night jaunt to see the Thames and it's surrounds all lit up. The tube is five minute walk, easy in and out. Location wise this place is perfect. The location is quiet but close to many restaurants and bodegas, so it's easy to feed yourself after a long day touring. I recommend the Malaysian spot nearby, it was delish. Hotel staff were very accommodating - I arrived early and they put my things away so I could do a day of touring. I'd recommend arriving mid-afternoon just after check in officially opens if you can, to make sure you get the room you want, if it matters. I had a rather loud room with no view and a machine just outside it (508), but I'd asked for a room on a high floor having read some of the older reviews. Be careful what you wish for. Bathroom updated, fit out nicely. Housekeeping didn't clean floors midway through my 5 day stay though it could have used it but otherwise sufficient. All that said, it really was a lovely place, staff very nice and cordial, knowledgeable, kind. I had no major problems and was able to focus on seeing London, which was my main goal. It was perfect location for sightseeing tourists like myself!

« Hoping this great little hotel is like it was the last time I stayed there. »

I haven't been to the Mornington since 1998 but it was only one of many wonderful visits. We had a favorite room that faced Lancaster Gate, I think on the third floor just down the hall from the elevator. It was such a clean little room, and the bathroom had a wonderful woody clean smell that I can still remember. The breakfast of cheeses, meats, breads, hard boiled eggs and that amazing orange juicer...All just wonderful. Is there still a sauna? Do you still do the breakfast? I think our room was 302...Anyway, thank you for many wonderful times. I hope so much to return there again before long. ( PS Your field for "When did you travel" didn't go back far enough for where I was there last.)

« Just where you want it! »

Just a few hundred yards from Lancaster Gate station you will find this home from home hotel...a very good hotel with the potential to be "the best". The bedrooms and the public rooms sparkle; beds are comfortable and towels are large enough o cover the most corpulent of guests. My room had no view so it would have been nice if the rather austere décor had been relieved by some art work. The breakfast offered was carefully served, substantial, tasty and very varied. There is no evening dining room but an excellent "room dining" take away system is in place. There is no level disabled access and this presents a problem that needs addressing. So the potential is there to really make this little hotel "the best".

    « Excellent 1 night stay »

First view of the hotel is not great as the adjoining property is in a state of disrepair. Ignore this though as the hotel itself in excellent condition. I checked in at 3pm and was told I had an upgrade to a suite as I am a rewards member, also I could have a late checkout at 2pm. Went to room 101 which turned out to be a strange split level room with dressing area and bathroom downstairs and desk and bed up a flight of stairs. The aircon was off and the loft area had no window so was a bit stuffy. A couple of minutes after getting into the room the phone rang and reception asked if I was happy with the room. I said it was a bit stuffy and they quickly found me another large double with a street frontage - 211. This was great, really clean and very big by London standards. Very fresh decor and an excellent shower. I had an excellent nights sleep in the double which in actual fact was two singles joined together, but was very comfortable. No street noise disturbed me. Breakfast is in the basement room and was top quality. Like everywhere else it was clean, neat and well presented. Good choice from the buffet too. Checkout was OK, wish I could have stayed until 2pm! Special mention needs to be made of Erika who sorted everything out and made sure my stay was great.

« Good Value for overnight stay »

Chose it purely on price for overnight stay in London. It is just 2 mins away from Lancaster gate tube station so ideally placed on the Central line. Hyde park is just one block away. Rooms are small hence why they may not suit a longer stay but they are all recently renovated and in good condition with flat screen TV and good shower. Breakfast was a little chaotic but was ample to start the day. Overall great value.

« Pleasant if cramped stay »

I stayed in the best western mornington whilst attending an awards ceremony nearby. The price for two rooms at short notice was very competitive and I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The location opposite Hyde Park was easy to find and very close to Lancaster gate tube station, just a short walk away. The room was quiet, even street noise was of a minimum, but very small with a single bed. This wasn't a problem but unusual, perhaps this is usual for central London hotels with an economy of space. My main complaint would be that the room was very very hot, and even when I turned down the radiator and returned to my room 4 hours later it was still very stuffy. I had to sleep with the window open in order to be able to get any sleep. The bathroom was immaculate and I enjoyed a very nice refreshing shower, breakfast was available prompt at 7am and a wide selection was on display. Another minor point was the complimentary tea, coffee and kettle was hidden away in a cupboard and I didn't notice it until my check out, this would be better left on the top of the unit with the check in guide.

« Best WesternMornington Hotel, London »

Toiletries, slippers bathrobes took 24 hours to appear in room. Fell up/down step into shower room. Very small room and en suite. Overcooked breakfast from buffet. Fresh alternatives fine. Coffee appalling, mass produced and overbreed, cafetieres are better, always fresh and hot. Room too hot, adjusted temp, asked staff too hot for all stay. Would not stay again.

« overnight stay whilst sightseeing »

We stayed here whilst seeing shows and a sightseeing trip. The bedroom was not large but had everything we needed for an overnight stay. the bathroom was compact and you had to be careful of the radiator but also very efficient. Great shower The staff were very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was very good and the staff could not do enough for you. I would highly recommend this hotel and will use it again for future trips.

    « City Break »

A pleasant small hotel with friendly staff. Conveniently placed for the tube and areas of London that we wanted to visit. Narrow corridors in which there are a number of turns add to t he character of this old building. Our bedroom was clean, well decorated and furnished. Breakfast was excellent and some foods are cooked to order.

I booked through Expedia with a stated rate of $248.00, when I decided to go ahead, i received a confirmation stating that I had paid a non refundable fee of $1,280.24! This was back in September 25th and so far neither the hotel nor Expedia are taking responsability. Neither Expedia (UK) nor Mornington Hotel have bothered to call back. I have called since then at least 10 times.

« Short Break in London »

We stayed at Best Western Mornington for 2 nights in early January -wee had stayed for 1 night in December, and been sufficiently impressed to return. The hotel is on Lancaster Gate -a rather grand, but quiet street, a few minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. The building has character, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very impressive, way above average for London.

    4
    « Perfect location! »

We are very happy with our stay at this hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious, comfortable bed. Breakfast is various and service is fantastic! The waitress even squeeze oranges for fresh juice, lovely! Location is the best close to commute with subway and the bus 148 that takes you to Westminster. Bays water is full of great restaurants and shops, our favorite nearby is Lokkanta, try it!

« Reasonable price and clean room »

I stayed for 3 nights , I really like it It locate very close to the bus stop about 3 to 4 minutes walking and 2 minutes away from the Lancaster gate tube and near to a small grocery store the bed is very comfortable The bathroom is too small I slipped while I was attempting to take a shower cuz the bath is so tiny and sharp

    « Very accommodating »

I booked this hotel for a night in London to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was perfect for what we wanted. Central and easy to get to. The room was lovely and so was breakfast. It catered for all fancies. We were really looked after. We will definitely stay here again.

    « Pretty average »

We stayed here on a 3 day, 2 night visit to London for a pre Christmas break. Ultimately I picked this hotel due to its location and the low price. We were slightly disappointed but you get what you pay for I suppose! But it did the job as somewhere to sleep while the days and evenings were spent exploring. On first impressions as the hotel is adjoined to a run down abandoned building it looks awful and at one point I was worried it had closed! The location to Lancaster Gate tube station was good though. The hotel is tiny but modern. Our room was basic but beds and shower were really good! Our view was an external wall and air conditioning pipes but as we weren't in the room apart from at night and before breakfast it didn't bother us! Breakfast was poor, the restaurant was tiny and the food wasn't great. Can't put our finger on what was wrong with it exactly but it wasn't delicious! There wasn't a big selection of food either! There was a waiter in there who was very friendly and helpful though! All in all an average stay, wouldn't visit again.

« Excellent value for money »

The check-in procedure was swift and my room was as I expected, having visited this hotel before. The room was on the small side but size of a room is not a factor for me. The bed was comfortable and the temperature of the room was similarly so. There is no double glazing but the room did not overlook a road so noise was not an issue. There was a pub nearby but once again no noise was noticed. The breakfast (included in the price) was excellent and I could not see how anyone could find fault with it. The wifi worked well. At £55 the price was extremely competitive!

« Great place to stay »

Great Hotel, close to public transit...Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. .Breakfast is unbelievable. Staff will book taxi and car service for you. They even went out of their way to print 5 boarding passes for me.Would stay here again.

« Good location poor experience »

This hotel is close to Hyde park and the subway station Lancaster Gate. The hotel has great rooms which I stayed in before but this time I was not that lucky. The room I had this time was terrible. In the back of the hotel. When I opened the window to get some fresh air I heard a ventilation so loud I couldn't even sleep. My airconditioning unit was really loud too. The room was extremely warm. All in all this time not a good experience.

« Business stay in London »

The hotel offers a very nice venue - loving the lobby bar with a large library and confi seating. The rooms are designed and furnished in a modern way, good for business purposes, not really the "romantic weekend" type of place. Good location - great for sightseeing of Central London, close to the underground central line. Friendly and useful personnel, great price given the location.

« BRILLIANT hotel great location and service »

Fab hotel, very close to the tube. Perfect for central London. From checking in to check out a truly wonderful service. We were able to check in early, the twin room was a tad small but for the price and location that was fine. The room was clean and had everything you'd need it and ironing board. Bathroom was lovely and clean. We even had a call after 5 mins of being in the room asking if the room was OK. I loved that. The reception ladies were lovely too. Breakfast for £12.50 was definitely worth it. Again fast and efficient breakfast area. Good selection of food and friendly service. We were able to leave our luggage there until we were ready to go home I will definitely stay there again.

« SLIGTHLY ABOVE AVERAGE HOTEL WITH SOME CHARM »

My wife stayed three nights at the Best Western Mornington. Our first impression was not so good as the staff at the reception was not so attentive. The same happened also when we came down to breakfast the first morning. However, things changed during our stay. The staff we met was much more friendly and especially the Poilish lady, Edyta who worked in the breakfast room was very friendly both with us and the other guests, always checking that everything was well. But we like to mention that the cleansing of the tables after people had left seemed to be quite simple and perhaps not according to what is required related to health standard rules. The room was quite good, the bathroom however , was quite small, which is typical for such rooms in the Bayswater/Paddington district, which I know form earlier visits. The same I can say about the room, small, but clean except for the carpet, which seems to be a little outdated. The street outside was quiet and there was not much noise from the hustle and bustle in Bayswater road. The location is good, with a short walk to Paddington station and the Heathrow trains, buses to central London as well as the tube (Central Line) is just a short walk from the hotel, and if you like to take a stroll in Hyde Park you are very close to these facilities. To reach Oxford street on foot you have to walk for about 15 minutes to reach Marble Arch but it is easy to find the way. The general impression is that this is a typical Bayswater/ Paddington location hotel, but with a higher standard compared with many of the others situated in this area. The room price with breakfast included is reasonable, compared with prices at many other London Hotels. The general impression is a hotel a little above average, with some charm, but not with the same standard and atmosphere as we felt when staying at a Best Western Hotel in Paris a priced at approximately the same level as this. « Sorry dear... »

After a hiccup at check in. Only just checked in to room 113 for my wife's birthday weekend. First impression is this hotel is below average and rooms certainly not worth the charge. Before booking this hotel consider the hilton double tree which I normally stay at when I'm in london. The standard here is no where as near as a real 4*, I wish I was there. "I got the hotel wrong, sorry dear." Honestly? The reviews? Have you ever been to a decent hotel? Just over 200 quid for this box room? Sorry but this is not the standard i'm used to. This isn't value.

« Book Direct not via Best Western »

My Wife amd I checked in today (December 7th) for two nights and cannot fault hotel, location, accommodation and cleanliness, however, a little bit miffed about having to pay for breakfast. We found the hotel website, checked availabilty and noted the guarantee of lowest price with breakfast included but when we came to book we somehow booked via the Best Western website not direct with the hotel and this apparently means we had to pay extra for breakfast. Don't repeat our mistake make certain you book via the hotel website, seems unfair that the hotel is promoted as a Best Western hotel but the hotel seems to promote as an independant hotel.

« dont stay here unless you want to pay hidden charges »

went for a weekend in london stayed at the mornington rooms very hot went to open window and it broke reported it straight away as any curtious person would only to get 100 pound charge for the window on checking out how shocked were we tried to speak to manager but he was going to be right what ever so by doing what you think was the right thing just got you a charge there is nothing on the windows to say you can only open them 2 inches and they have been blocked off with wood bodge up so dont go here unless you want to be ripped off also dissappointed with best western as booked with them but said they have no control over what hotels do and charge

« Great value for money and amazing service »

I arrived early on the day as I had a field trip to attend. Asked cheekily whether they could provide the room and whether it would be an upgrade due to my status. Not only the lady agreed, she managed to source the upgrade in 10 minutes. The duplex suite was amazing, and certainly value for money. Breakfast was very British and tasty. Only minus was the exterior, the building next door seemed abandoned and it is a little far away from major eateries. This is probably one of my favourite places in London to stay in. :)

Absolutely recommend this hotel for a stay in central London

    « Mornington, Lancaster Gate »

I flew to London on a 5 day business trip and tried out this hotel which friends and family have stayed at before. I was not disappointed. The room was large, renovated and spotless, the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to Paddington, the Lancaster Gate tube station and, of course, Hyde Park. I would not hesitate to stay there on my next trip to London.

    2
    « Overpriced & Understaffed »

We stayed for 3 nights in an "Executive Suite" - supposedly the best rooms on offer. The rooms had zero sound proofing, as every noise from adjoining rooms, the corridor and outside street could be heard. The room was also uncomfortably warm at night, even with the air con \\ thermostat set at the lowest level (in late October 2015). On arriving at the hotel, you will find the adjoining building derelict\\boarded up, not a particularly good first impression. Do no order food from the room menu, it comes from an outside caterer, ours arrived late, was poor quality and we were overcharged! We also experienced poor quality customer service from reception staff - inability\\unwilling to deal with issues and making simple mistakes. In their defence they did appear to be overworked, eg one person covering both bar and reception in the evening, taking calls and dealing with check ins etc. In my opinion, the hotel is charging premium room rates but "cutting corners" on staffing costs, leading to poor customer service.

    « Lovely executive suite »

Very nice room, modern decorations, clean, comfy beds and speedy wifi connection. The upper level bedroom made the place feel much bigger as well. Hotel was easy to find, it was along the same streets as the other hotels in the area. Short walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants, but also close to tube stations. Receptionist was very friendly and informative too. Will stay again

    2
    « not sure »

the hotel was smelly, rooms were small and hardly anyone spook English. I did complained to the hotel with all my issues, but there were no mitigation for any of the issues. I am not sure what else I need to add here, I would not stay there again.

« Clean and comfortable , good location »

Overall very good , rooms were clean , although a little small. Cleaning staff and waiting staff at breakfast all very friendly and efficient. Hotel in a god location , easy to get to from Paddington Station , and a short walk from the hotel to Kensington and Hyde parks Plenty of choice at breakfast , both hot and cold options. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel , would have been nice if there was a restaurant in the hotel. All in all a good experience and would stay there again.

    « Good location & staff »

In my last trip in London I stayed here and I have to say it worth it. Good location, near Hyde park, close to Regent street, Bond street, for shoppers, and the fee it quite affordable , if you take into consideration the others near hotels fees. The room are indeed small, but its understandable for this old buildings: if you open the armoire door and entrance door, you can not be able to move your arm anymore ! And another minus, is the AC unit, placed in front of your bed, so you don.t need to dry you hair after the washing, it will do it for you! And in the night it is quietness , which is very good. As I said the stuff was friendly and at your disposal, the guys from the restaurant also, very friendly. A small library is on the right part of the reception, with a bar in it. Overall, a very good choice for city-breaks or small trips.

    « Nice and Clean »

This is a very clean hotel and very nice for the price (let's face it nothing in London is cheap) two blocks from a tube station. Nice staff with a good breakfast. Really nice pub around the corner and several other options also.

    5
    « Location and comfort »

We stayed here on our second trip to London. The place is clean and well located. The hotel is only one block from Hyde Park and the one block from the tube. It couldn't be better located. The staff is helpful and friendly. The beds are comfortable and our twin room had a little more space then most London hotels. We stayed five nights and enjoyed very minute. Great pub around the corner.

« Location is good, room very small and noisy »

Stayed there in my last trip to London and found it really expensive for what you get. Very basic services, staff was friendly but somehow not experienced, credit card machine not working on arrival and asked to leave a deposit or i could not sleep there. Room and toilette very small but the worst was the noise, its possible to hear everything from room to room. No help on luggage on arrival.

    « my 3rd stay »

I always feel safe and secure at this hotel. It is in a great location and the staff that I've dealt with are welcoming and friendly. I booked a single room but upon check-in I was told it was downstairs on the lower level. I asked if it would be possible to get another room, and without hesitation the desk clerk checked her computer and offered me a double room on the 4th floor. As I had booked directly with the hotel, the breakfast was included and as always was plentiful and good, and the staff in the breakfast room were also welcoming and attentive.

    4
« Value for money and well located. »

All in all a nice little hotel . If you don't get anything better go for this and you will not be upset. Nice customer service and ok breakfast but worked for me as I was on a business trip. I would reccomend this place.

« Decent hotel with good location »

Quite basic hotel but the rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Reception staff is friendly. Pricewise I think this one of the better options for just having a place to sleep. Neighbour to the Lancaster Gate hotel which is also nice and priceworth.

    « A long weekend in London »

We were a little concerned when we found our third floor room was right next to the lift, but our worries were unfounded, it worked out fine. Minimal noise and not disruptive. The room was fairly small, but adequate and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and promptly serviced. Reception staff were great and when I asked if a taxi could be called, a young lady ran off down the road to get one saying it was no problem and quicker than phoning. We only had breakfast, but the food was great, plentiful and very well prepared. Again the dinning room was spotlessly clean and the service excellent. Don't expect a view from the window, after all it is central London, but being so central was ideal for getting to almost any location in London. Close to the tube, busses, taxis or very pleasant walks through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. Good value for money, I would recommend this hotel.

    5
    « Enjoyable stay »

From checking in to checking out our visit to this hotel was excellent. The staff were all very efficient and friendly. We have just stayed at the Mornington Hotel, Lancaster Gate for 1 night. The hotel is in a great location just a few minutes walk from the tube station, the staff were very friendly & helpful. The rooms were clean & comfortable although a bit small but for a short break the room was fine as we didn't spend much time in it. I would definately recommend & would stay here again for sure.

    « Expensive, and average »

Small, reasonably clean hotel in a decent location, with a nice stroll through the park to get to Kensington. Not one of the staff I met had English as their first language, and on the few dealings I had with them, they were not particularly friendly, but were quite efficient during check in and check out, although my request for a room with a double bed was immediately rejected, without even looking at availability- you get what you get attitude. The single bed I got was way too small, and it was not a great sleep. Rooms and lift ( yes only one) are small, and the place feels "cramped". I would certainly not stay here again- there are better choices at similar prices in London.

« Superb stay and highly recommend the Mornington »

A bit of a last minute booking link to attending Radio 2 Festival in Hyde Park and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Really friendly and helpful reception staff who were both polite and very efficient in all aspects of our stay and requirements eg early check in of luggage, obtaining taxi costs etc. Room spacious and very clean, extremely comfortable bed with a sparkling, well equipped bathroom. Buffet style breakfast offered wide choice, including smoked kippers, and all was fresh and hot. Breakfast waiting staff were really welcoming and keen to make sure our requirements were met. Very convenient to Hyde Park with easy access to Lancaster Gate tube. We would have no hesitation in staying again and recommending the Mornington to family and friends.
