Stayed as I was attending an event at another hotel. Room 404. Check in easy , staff helpful and pleasant, lift to my room. Room had a kings size bed, lovely and clean and a decent size. Window opens and actually fairly quiet for London ( next door were quite noisy tho but not enough for me to knock on) Shower room is small and wash basin is on an angle so this may be an issue if you're of large build. Shower and toiletries were fine. Enough towels , hairdryer in the drawer , kettle and supplies and a fridge. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. I wasn't keen on the drinks / juice but it was fine. Everything was clean. Closest tube is Paddington. Would stay there again .
First time in London, stayed at the Delmere in September for 3 nights. Hotel is modern and recently updated and staff were amazing. We stayed on the lower floor, room was clean and modern but small for 2 large adults. We didn't spend much time in the room so it was fine for our needs, just difficult getting ready in the morning. Room had AC which was needed the week we visited London. Location is close to public transit and very easy to get around London but a distance from the main attraction in London. We found lots of great restaurants in the area just from a simple Google search (Hayat Paddington a must try, food was great). We opted for the continental breakfast. It was adequate but they would only bring out 2 or 3 slices of cheese or meat at a time and only 1 or 2 eggs at a time, even though the dinning room was full and constantly had to replenish and therefore had to wait. They even sliced the quiche in the smallest pieces I had ever seen. I'm not sure why they did this but it didn't make for a good impression. Overall a 3 star based on value for dollar.
Modernized hotel in an excellent location with many restaurants surrounding. Soundproofed rooms and very friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is basic but sufficient. Loved the all-day coffee and tea. Two blocks walk to Paddington Station makes the Delmere perfect as a base from London. Recommended!
Great location! Close to Paddington Station! The room was cozy. Good functioning air conditioning and internet. There is coffee and water available 24 hours. The staff were very accommodating and helpful! They will store your luggage for you.
This little spot really impressed me. It was compact but so cleverly laid out, modern with new lighting, bathroom accessories and a dead silent room temperature set up (hot or cold). Rooms were also quiet & Immaculately clean but what impressed me most was the real warm, friendly and helpful check in. So often the only contact we have at any one hotel when in/out for business is the front office and they can make or break your stay so thank you. This really didn't go unnoticed. A great location to so I'll definitely be back here.
A great little hotel 5 minutes walk from London Paddington. Very comfortable room with apparently new bathroom fitted to high standard. Welcoming and friendly staff.
Nice hotel, great location, wonderful staff. We arrived early morning around 10:00 am and they were able to put us in our room. That allowed us to get a jump on our sightseeing. We had been reading about the tube and buying tickets and it was confusing. When we asked the staff at the desk, they said it simply, just use your contactless credit card and the tube will figure out the cost. And there is a max for the day. We had a Standard Twin Room that Booking.com says is 160 SF. It was a tight fit with 2 suitcases packed for a cruise. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, but I think it was still closed when we left for our sightseeing, approximately 7:30 am. Check the hours.
We needed a hotel close to Paddington, to stay an extra day after a cruise. Our main criteria were location and a place to store luggage in the morning, prior to check in. Got those, but really impressed with staff. Luggage got moved to our room before we arrived back. Also, nice to have a coffee maker off the lobby to sit and plan the rest of the day. Room very modern, clever plumbing and lighting effects. Overall we made a great choice.
No closet or dresser. AC and lights kept turning off due to broken sensor. Pathetic paid breakfast option. Front desk not manned 24 hours a day.
The location is excellent. Walking distance to Paddington Station. Lots of great restaurants and pub nearby. Rooms are small but very modern and had all the conveniences we could as for. I can't comment on the breakfast room as we didn't use it. We stayed for two nights at the beginning of our trip and one night at the end. I would highly recommend.
The hotel was in a great location next to Paddington Station which was perfect for me. And many places to eat also in the area, which is a plus for this location. The room is very small, but ok for a short stay, 1-2 days. They missed my wakeup call which can be troublesome if someone is on a tight schedule. Luckily I didn't get to my destination too late, but they need more coordination, so tourists don't miss trains or planes! The bathroom was small also but adequate & the TV was fine. I liked the teapot, teas & biscuits too! I probably would stay there again if I needed to be close to Paddington Station!
Surprise! Excellent place 2 to 3 blocks from the Heathrow Express stop at Paddington. Nestled among other Georgian homes, now small hotels, but clearly a cut above its neighbors. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Very clean, usable room. The Bigger Surprise was the high quality breakfast: pastries and a wide variety of items.
I can kind of see the appeal if someone is traveling for a short work related trip. But I definitely don't recommend for stays with families. The rooms are small, the washrooms smaller. No housekeeping (we only stayed two nights so I didn't bother asking for clarification - not that I could cus there was no one at the reception at 11 pm). Rooms are very 'modern', technologically advanced etc. The room rates are put up on a wall in the reception area and it's not worth the price imo. There was a mix up regarding the room booked, for which their initial reaction was to ask me to sort it out with the third party service I booked the room through (I fail to understand how the onus is on the customer). Although they eventually 'upgraded' my room, they didn't fail to inform me that the price I paid was not enough for the upgraded room (what am I supposed to do? Not utilise a discount when I get one?). Location is excellent, very close to Paddington station.
Nice hotel, very kind and helpful staff. They helped us both in the arrival and departure, with early check-in, and late check-out. I would definitely return.
I have stayed at quite a few hotels in the area, and this hotel is above average when it comes to comfort and service for this price level.
We had a great stay at this hotel. The location close to Paddington station, but not too close is ideal. It is also in a nice quiet position. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the hotel is very clean throughout. Our twin room was at the rear of the hotel and was very quiet on both nights. The room was compact but not too small. It had comfy beds , very nice on-suite all with modern fixtures and fittings. We would definitely return to this hotel when next in town and ask for this room. Breakfast was very good , plenty of choice and of a good standard. A very nice stay and a welcome haven to return to after exploring London for the day . Thank you very much.
Although we booked an executive double room, when we checked in late afternoon the only rooms that were available were a basement dungeon with no light and air, no window to the outside, or an extremely small room at the back with a narrow window onto a dark alley. Definitely not as advertised on the website, and we felt as if we had been "bait and switched". We will not be returning to this hotel.
This was an excellent option as the start of my three month Europe travel. The location was perfect with Paddington Station a short walk away, as well as walking distance to Notting Hill, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. All other London areas and tourist destinations were easily reached from here also. The hotel was good, my room was very clean, however incredibly small as a single room, but I didn't mind as I only needed to sleep there. The staff at reception couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
Extremely friendly staff and good breakfast available. Hotel was nicely situated near to train and subway stations. And a very enjoyable newly developed area around canals (little Italy) is very nearby.
This place couldn't be in a better location. It's a short, pleasant, tree-lined walk from Paddington Station and also within walking distance to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens and to restaurants and cafes. Room was clean, modern, and cozy. It was small and the walls on the thin side, but I felt safe and comfortable. It was all I needed for a one-night's stay. The hotel staff were very accommodating, allowing me to store my luggage since I arrived well before check-in. They also did their best to allow me to check-in earlier. I'd definitely come again and recommend this place, especially if you are traveling alone or for business.
It needs to be said that I stayed in this hotel during a very warm period, but the fact remains it was an average stay, at best due to the reasons outlined below. The rooms are very small but comfortable and clean. The main issue was that the air conditioning in the room was appalling leading to a very uncomfortable night's sleep. The road noise outside meant the window couldn't be opened and the small room coupled with synthetic feeling bedding made the whole night quite unpleasant. On the upside the staff are very attentive and were apologetic but nothing could be done to rectify the situation. Breakfast is nice and varied, but despite the write up on the web there certainly isn't a bar with live music!
Arrived earlier than expected but this was no problem, room was ready and the lady on reception was very helpful. Rooms are small but are super clean, modern and the showers are pretty good too. We didn't opt for breakfast as a continental breakfast is the only option but because of the location of the hotel, we had plenty of options close by. Perfectly placed hotel if your looking to explore london. would stay here again without question.
This is a great boutique hotel. The single room is small but has everything you need, remodelled bedroom and bathroom with both rainhead and normal shower head An easy walk from Paddington station I found it reasonably priced and handy
Excellent little hotel in convenient and safe location near Paddington station. Walkable to Hyde park and train station. 24 hour concierge service was appreciated and ability to alter check-in time appreciated. Very clean, came with free upgrade and was very quiet to sleep. Very comfortable bed and all amenities needed for short stay. Enjoyed it very much!
This hotel is on a quiet street close to the Paddington train station. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance and two parks (Hyde and Kensington} nearby. The rooms as stated are small but functional. The staff are friendly, accommodating and focused on the clients satisfaction. Two standouts at reception were Jason and Tony, very pleasant and professional staff. They have a coffee area off the lobby and do offer a continental breakfast on lower level. I would suggest the housekeeping staff be a little more meticulous as a lamp shade over the desk in the room had several layers of dust and one day after their cleaning a wrapper was on floor that was not vacuumed. One other note is that the front desk has more control over the AC than the room as everything is preprogrammed. I made a simple phone call to the front desk and my problem was solved immediately. I would stay at this property again and would recommend to others. This was a great stay and the staff was instrumental in making my vacation a terrific experience.
What I liked: - Very good location, close to a central train station/underground - Clean - Decent breakfast. There was not a huge variety, but there were choices - Friendly staff - Affordable What could be improved:- The single room is VERY small. The main problem is that there was no space to open the luggage. - No brush to clean the toilet. This seems not to be uncommon in London. I find it disgusting. The staff did offer to give me one after I called reception, though.
We loved our four-day stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was bright, modern, with really cool lighting you could easily access from either side of the headboard. The in-room tea was well-stocked and very handy. The internet and the TV were easy to use. Breakfast was superb!
We chose this lovely hotel because of its close proximity to Paddington station where we needed to stay for a night between connecting trains. What a lovely experience this was. Friendly staff, a clean room albeit a little small but great for an overnight stay. Cosy, warm and comfortable with a good bathroom and soft bed. So welcoming after a 20+ hour trip into London.
Exceptionally clean hotel great staff customer service polite and courteous on arrival and leaving the hotel. The bedroom had touch sensor panels for lighting and heating. Wifi/Internet good, bed pillows linen amazingly comfy clean as were the carpets and remote control for the TV. I had a good nights sleep; shower area again exceptionally clean small and large overhead power shower; the heads looked brand new good selection of clean fluffy towels again exceptionally clean, however shower area more like a cubicle little on the small side. Towelling Slip mat provided outside shower. Good breakfast especially at 7.15 am good selection of teas, coffees, fresh fruit/juices preserves granola croissants fresh breads crumpets, hams cheeses and my favourite anchor butter!!! All self service but not a problem waitress on hand very polite cutlery plates cups exceptionally clean. Good supply of hand sanitizers visible to guests in hotel.
I want to say that I had a great time staying here. Location was great arriving from Heathrow and riding the Heathrow Express to Paddington. The brief walk from Paddington to Best Western was quite easy. I read that many thought the hotel rooms were small - this is common in the UK. I enjoyed my room and while the hotel is in an older building, I can say that the hotel is very modern. I enjoyed the continental breakfast and being welcomed back each time I explored London. If you want McDonalds or KFC, it's just around the corner but the biggest plus for staying here is all the shops and eating places at Paddington Station - very convenient. The Tube is to the left of the station if facing Paddington. My hotel was clean, modern, the internet was excellent, and hotel warm (I stayed in November). I will stay here again for the welcome and being so close to the station. If you want to walk to Buckingham Palace, you can walk through the park - two miles but a great was to get your miles in. Thank you all so very much. I had an excellent time. I will stay here again.
This hotel exceeded my expectations for the price. The room was well set out with a good closet space, a well it desk for work, a comfortable bed space, and a well designed and comfortable bathroom. The staff was courteous and helpful throughout the time in residence. I have stayed in many hotels in London and am aware of the tight squeeze in many mid-range hotels, so I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities. The room was also well cleaned and the all the room was quite well maintained.
This was a great hotel to stay in, it's been modernised throughout and the rooms are comfortable. Everything is modern though the hotel has a Victorian character which gives it some charm. It's set back from the road and the insulation was good. I really enjoyed to stay and it's also not so far from Queensway, another great area packed with bars, restaurants and shops.
I was impressed with the Delmere Hotel. It was very hot in London and to come back to fabulous air-conditioning was a dream. In the community room there was also chilled water to enjoy. Everything was very clean and room nicely decorated.
Excellent location easy access to the trains airports and buses. The Staffs during the 5 days were very amicable and helpful and always willing to find the best solutions for all our request. The cleanliness of the rooms was awesome
Stopped over for a night after returning to London from Brighton before heading out to Scotland. This was a lovely overnight stay. I'm booked to stay again upon my brief return to London. The area is close to transit and restaurants. However, the street the property is located is quiet.
What a find ! A central position, minutes from Paddington station. A simple bus ride to Kings cross - but SO QUIET ! A little side road ensures a peaceful sleep My room was small but had everything I needed! Great shower ( not terribly powerful), hairdryer, shampoo etc. tea and coffee facilities. Good TV! Windows that actually open. A small bar downstairs - and such lovely staff. Always greeted me when I passed. Went out of their way to let me check in 2 hours early . Great towels - duvet a bit disappointing - but nice pillows They do breakfast but I didn't try it
I couldnt get into the HIlton so I found this one which was only two blocks away from the Paddington underground and train station... It was perfect.. A five min walk from it. The hotel was clean, staff friendly.. Restaurants close by. Breaky was not included in the price but for 9 pounds more you could get it. The room my son and I had was very small but this is LONDON and I totally understand that space is hard to come by... I would stay here again.
Stayed here for a few nights before the pandemic and was impressed,so decided to come back. Still a very good hotel. Super friendly staff, very clean and modern rooms. Possibly the best hotel in Sussex Gardens. Will definitely be staying here again.
Executive room which was nice and roomy. Super friendly staff Breakfast was very good and set us up for the days sightseeing. Good location for visitor to London with tube just being around the corner.
Very noisy hotel in the morning. Slamming doors that wakes you up early and no sleep after that. And very expesive for a room of this size. Dissapointed with the stay and price. Will not recommned this for friends and familiy and others
It is really disheartening to see why the hotel management cannot understand importance of customer services. Or is it a case because your hotel is in central London and because your hotel is always possibly fully booked customer services really does not matter to you. Only good thing in your hotel was your receptionist from Goa in India. She was very helpful and smiling and welcoming. Worst part of your hotel is you switch off AC at night despite advertising as AC hotel. If you need more money to provide AC then charge more but stop lying to customers and charge them for aircon and then switch it off later in the night. Who gave you the right to mess up with customers sleep. Very bad ethics and thoroughly unprofessional service. Learn from some good branded hotels how they retain customers and why customers go back to same hotel — it's all about good customer services.
This was our 5th stay at the Delmere . They were as helpful as they always have been . The rooms are very well appointed, clean, and nice cool in the heat wave we going through with the air conditioning There's help yourself tea and coffee in the hub lounge We will be returning soon . Thank you
It was nice to come back to great aircon after a 32 degree day and enjoy a complimentary chilled water and ice in their guest room. The only disappointing thing was that our room was not serviced (missed by the cleaner) the first day and the next day when it was serviced the sheet which had been dirtied was not changed. When I spoke to the receptionist she said that the cleaner was new. This led me to thinking, who is training and keeping an eye on the work of cleaners. The en suite was small but modern. Overall we enjoyed our stay here very much.
Booked for 2 nights..must say excellent value. Great location for Central London no need for public transport Rooms refurbished to high spec and very clean. Ideal for your needs. Highly recommend, this friendly value for money hotel!
Stayed here for 2 nights and was very impressed. Yes the rooms are small, but you expect that in central London...the rooms are really well designed, modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. All the staff are really friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. And I was really happy to get one of the hotel parking spaces outside for £15 per night. The reason we booked this hotel was the location...we were attending the Pearl Jam concert at Hyde Park and to have our hotel less than 10 minutes walk away was perfect. There's also plenty of bars, restaurants & shops within a few minutes walk and its very close to Paddington Station. This is a really great hotel for a short break in London that doesn't cost a fortune, highly recommended.
Stayed for 3 days and would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff, perfect location, comfy rooms. Would recommend this hotel. Five minutes from the train station, plenty of pubs around and places to get a good breakfast
Hotel is in a quiet location, five minutes walk from Paddington Station. Reception staff were so lovely and helpful. Room was small, generally clean but some rubbish under the bed. Bed was a little hard. Breakfast was continental, but with plenty of choice.
Good location, great service, clean room , however it is small, close to train station, minutes from most places taking Underground Circle line, Distric line or Elizabeth line, many restaurants in the area, we had a blast vacation.
Stayed over one night in a cosy double room, yes the room was small including the bathroom, but was well equipped, comfortable and clean. We arrived early to drop off luggage before heading into London, which they were more than happy to oblige with. Even better though our room was ready, and we checked in early at 11am. We had everything we needed, tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc. Room was well cleaned and the modern lighting, sockets and placement was well thought out, we stayed in Room 14 on the ground floor. The air conditioning was quick to kick in when needed as it was a really warm day outside. The team at the Hotel all provided good customer service, and Zlatan at breakfast gave a warm welcome. Continental breakfast had a good selection and was all fresh. Thank you for looking after us on our flying visit through the Hotel.
So small you will be bumbing into walls, showers doors etc. Should take out the word best.. its not even good western . The hotel uses deliberate photos to gave you the impression that they are large. Infact this tiny under 20 rooms packed washrooms into closets. 2 feet by 4 ft. You either hit the mirror or your phone into the toilet. The tiny sink has a few inches of cupboards space.. only for a toothbrush. No closets, a something put against the wall for a few shirts thats your closet. If you have bags don't know where they will go. Do not pay before on any package see for yourself so you can get your money back. So these hotel are only like two pillars not the impression that it is a whole Blick. I stayed a few days i was not impressed.. its like a transit point not a holiday stay. My wife will have to climb the bed to pass if I am standing next to the bed .. Don't waste your money lots of options available elsewhere The manager said it's a luxury apartment.. mmm wonder where she got that from. Check before you pay.. I gave up two days of hotel accommodation I went else where for the sanity of a holiday. Customer service from a manager poor, ready to give you the royal walk around.. Nothing best about this best western.
I had a shaky start. I ordered 2 rooms- snug singles, without realising they are TINY. One just needs to check the room size before booking. However it was clean, the service was great, really excellent- especially at reception, the room has everything one needs, and i would definitely go back; just i would order a bigger room!!
I would advise against. ac could not cope. bathroom extractor not working detectably. The hotel argued otherwise. Plenty of alternatives. Front desk were pleasant but argued about the ability of ac. Stay away.
It is always a hit and miss experience staying in a hotel you are not familiar with, however everything was very nice at the Delamere, staff breakfast and room where all that I expected and required and have made a mental note to stay there on my next trip to London
Clean, quiet and not too small room, safe and conveniently located proprty within 5 minutes walk of Paddington Rail Station where you can take 15 minutes express train to Heathrow and 52 minutes train to Oxford, plus several underground lines. Friendly staff
If you want a good nights rest, don't let them book you into room 5 on the lower ground floor. Upon entering this room we were immediately aware of a continuous droning noise and complained straight away. However, we were told the Hotel was fully booked and we couldn't swap rooms. So we were stuck with it. We even tried moving the bed around the room to try and get some sleep without success. The next day, the Hotel did move us to another room which was fine. I did complain that I didn't think it right that we had paid a lot of money to NOT sleep in an Executive room and requested a refund but were met with an indifference and the response 'Oh well, it's just one of those things isn't it'. Well no, not really, you shouldn't let out this room. What an attitude! Unhappy client.
The hotel is very conveniently located right next to Paddington station, next to Hyde park and with several restaurant and amenities in the area. The hotel is cozy, very nice team, and even though the room is on the smaller side, we were very pleasantly surprised by its modern amenities and how comfortable it was. In addition the hotel has a lounge room with complimentary water and coffee offered. Overall great experience for a good price.
Our hotel room was rather small but very clean and comfortable and reasonably quiet despite being close to Paddington station. We reckoned that the shower was the best shower we have experienced anywhere! Great location for us, as we were able to check in, drop our luggage and be off to explore London with ease.
Lovely two night stay in an above average pleasantly sized neat room with all amenities. I recommend the high quality double-glazing for travellers sensitive to street or corridor noise. Best experience so far in London in this category. Great value.
Finding this hotel to start my adventure was great for this UK trip. It was a great place to recover from an overnight flight. Super convenient to Paddington Station and the London-Heathrow Express train.
Well located for Paddington Station (2 minute walk), well equipped, clean and comfortable with friendly and professional staff. Early check-in was a welcome bonus, as was use of the "hub" facility to carry on working after the 11:00 am check-out. Highly frecommended.
I stayed here one night to get an early Heathrow Express train from Paddington station. My Cozy Double Room was small but was perfectly fine for a short stay as a solo traveler - there was sufficient space for my two carry-on sized luggage. Room was clean and features are all very modern and well designed. The only small issues I had were that I couldn't figure out how to turn on the bathroom extractor/fan and the shower leaked a little bit of water that reached the carpet. All staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful - they accommodated an early check-in and printed some documents I needed for my onward travel. This is basic accommodation done right and I would gladly stay here again.
staff are nice; both shifts are good; if you watch their TV, you won't know if you live in 2022 or 1992, or what's going on in the world and where, great job in saving money on the channels, making sure your guests are blocked from the world. i wont' go there because I'm so scared that I'll be out of touch if i say there, and get fired in my business meetings because I'm out of touch. the staff was confused about this, but was no able to help. that's fine, this is the problem of their boss, can't blame the staff. save small, lose big, well, otherwise why are you in sussex garden in the world place, hahaha
I know this is London and space is at a premium but this is genuinely the smallest "club room" I've ever stayed in. I am also really unhappy because despite making a simple request for a quiet room on a high floor (2nd, 3th or 4th), I've ended up in a room on the 1st floor on the street side. Reception only moved me from the lower ground floor after I had to request several times. I also asked to speak to a manager and was told they were busy, and then had left for the day. Best Western are a reliable chain and I thought a Best Western Plus club room would be even better. I am so disappointed.
I had big plans coming here but ran into som unforseen problems, the staff were very helpful in all their doing. I recommend the hotel in all respects, it's central but still calm, you absolutely feel calm in the area, and it's quite cheap. The downsides being that the rooms are quite small, and probably in need of refurbishing in the next couple of years, as they have become a little worn, and it's quite loud between the rooms. But all in all i really enjoy this hotel and will probably stay here again.
Travelling on a budget to London and have to say I was very surprised by the standard of this hotel for the price. Staff were friendly, room was clean and well equipped albeit small but had everything I required. Will definitely stay again.
Beautifully appointed, small and compact but great finishes. Bed very comfortable and road fairly quiet of a night. Staff extremely helpful and willing to go that extra mile. Looking to stay here on our return with family
Stayed here in December 2021 for 3 nights paid £311 without breakfast ( not bothered about continental) which we thought was a good price. Stayed in room 18 which was on the ground floor round the back through a little outside covered walkway. The room was small and so was the bathroom but we were only using it as a base so not really a problem. The room was spotless bed was comfy towels nice and fluffy and toiletries supplied. There was different staff on every day and they were all lovely. Check in was simple and straightforward and managed to get parking outside for £15 per night which was brilliant. Location is good for shopping 10 minute walk to Marble Arch if you want to get the bus anywhere, Hyde Park is 10 mins away too. We've stayed some other hotels on Sussex Gardens but this one was by far the best one we've stayed so will definitely stay here again. Only fault with it for me was the room was a bit warm the heating temperature was set to 18 degrees and although you can turn it up you can't turn it down and it was too much for me but it wouldn't put me off staying again. Brilliant hotel!!
I loved the cozy room. It was very modern and clean. Mattia helped me check in early and i arrived pretty early and was exhausted from my trip. The hotel also had a lift. And the room had a wonderful selection of coffee and tea. Would surely stay here again
Warm welcome at Delmere Hotel. Clean rooms, compact, but for somewhere to slleep perfect. Comfortable bed and good pilows. No noise from other guests, nice shower. Small bed was a bit of a surprise. Would use again
Visited the hotel from 3-6 December. Booked the executive double room which is the most expensive room in the hotel based on the options listed on the website. I state this with the purpose of stating that this should be their premium room. It's a three star hotel so I didn't have any expectations regarding the amenities or provisions. However, the one thing I need expect and demand was cleanliness. During a pandemic you would assume that a hotel would prioritise this but not this place! I stayed three nights and had to call reception to come and clean my room for two out of three rights. The only reason I didn't need to call on the first night was because I checked in at 6.30pm and the room seemed to be clean. The next two days we travelled for the entire day only to come back to a filthy room. On day 1, my boyfriend had accidentally spilled some coffee on our sheet and duvet and nobody had changed it! The bathroom had not been cleaned at all except to change our towels. I called reception to complain and they told us that the housekeeping staff probably didn't see the stain( the stain was on the sheet and outside duvet yet the staff couldn't see it!?) and they can't do anything to help us until tomorrow. When I said that this was a hotel where the rate includes cleaning, he said he could leave a sheet at my door to change myself?! I told him that this is not my responsibility as I'm a guest he told me I need to leave the room and he can come and change it himself. He was not apologetic at all. The next day we left the room for the day and came back and the room was in a worse condition than we had left it. The carpet had not been vacuumed or swept and there were pieces of debris on the carpet. We had left our used coffee spoon and cup on the table from the morning and the staff left the dirty spoon wrapped in a tissue on the dresser. The coffee cup was rinsed badly in our bathroom and left on the stand complete with standing water and stains. The bathroom and shower were still not cleaned. The clean towels are usually stacked on a rack above the toilet yet there was a loose towel hanging in the bathroom and we didn't know whether it was clean or had been used by someone as we had thrown out dirty towels on the floor as per the hotel instructions. The cleaning staff also left their dirty rag on the dresser which made me feel like throwing up. I called the reception again and he came up and this time he seemed apologetic but said he can't do anything as it's just after 6pm and the general manager of the hotel is at home and wouldn't want to be bothered with such a trivial matter. He said the best he could do was send an email to the manager and they would contact us. More than 36 hours have passed and we have not heard anything back. This hotel is part of the Best Western chain but seems to operate as an independent “hotel” as these standards are not what I would expect from a large hotel brand. I am most unhappy about the situation as during a pandemic, basic cleanliness and hygiene is not a nice to have but is a requirement. Based on their hygiene and cleanliness measures, this hotel seems to be an ideal breeding ground of germs and bacteria and definitely not a place to visit during the pandemic. In short, unhygienic “hotel” with poor management team. Don't waste your money or health.
Me and my boyfriend came down to London to go to Winter wonderland. Brilliant location it's only a 10 minute walk away! Managed to get one of the parking spaces outside the front of the hotel which was perfect however had to call reception to remove the chain, parking good price of £15 however this is only until 11am the following day which we wasn't told and had to rush back from our meal the next day at noon to move it else we would be charged again. Room was really lovely, the courtyard to the rooms was good and they have a friendly helpful reception team. We would definitely come again as overall good stay. Thank you!
Everything was great. Check in by Dorer was speedy and stress free. He was incredibly helpful as I'm on crutches. Rooms are beautifully presented, very clean and modern. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh produce and lovely clean area to relax in. I'll be back soon. Thank you
Sussex Gardens isn't the best place in London to stay, and many of the 'hotels' along here are little more than low quality guesthouses, but Delmere is a shining light in the darkness - but would still shine in better company! Lovely staff, modern rooms, very quick check-in / out, and they looked after my case after I checked out as I had meetings to attend before my train. I expect to return frequently.
This hotel is listed as "parking available". They only have 2 parking spaces. Do not book this hotel thinking you can park outside. The staff don't give a s**t and all I got was attitude from the staff when I said they should remove the parking from the listing on booking.com. My single room was like a cabin on a cruise liner/ men's half way house. I tried to cancel my booking when I realised there was no parking but because I booked through booking.com I was unable to. Another scam. I don't like being lied to and I work long hours and hard day's. When I get to the hotel I should be able to relax, but no. More grief.
It is well-functional and neat hotel that can recommend to all who want to stay in the Paddington area. The room was clean and convenient to use the free internet. The staff who helped me check-in was extremely professional. For me the Sussex Gardens area is perfect
Great location in London, close to the Hyde Park. The hitel is quiet and clean, the staff is Friendly and very helpful . The room was small but enough for 4 days stay. We would be happy to return and recommend anyone who comes to visit London
Our stay here was ok: the room was at least comfortable. But there was a lot missing here (such as no microwave and no breakfast) and the staff was hit-and-miss. We had a great reception clerk when we arrived early and he worked to get us into rooms right away, but after that service was a bit lacking. They also never serviced our room, even after we asked and put the maid request light on (we had to take our own trash out when the small can was full). The shower in our double room was tiny and laughable. The computer for guests (with a printer) was not working throughout our week. Overall this is just not a good value. It is a nice location, but given that it is in an area with a large number of other hotels, if you want this area I think you can do better.
Excellent service and very comfortable room. Having driven down from Leeds in the early hours of the morning to see our son in ICU, we were allowed to use the room from 6:30am , rather than from the usual 3:00 pm check in. The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and very well maintained, with a large flat screen TV. Highlight was the power shower, much needed to reduce the stress of the weekend. Very close to Paddington Station, Hyde Park and St Mary's hospital...
No microwave no breakfast on demand you had to order 8pm the night before. No bottle water and water in lobby has taste. Quite expensive but basic. Staff couldn't do much so we had to sort ourselves out.
Very clean modem rooms amazing location, parking is limited with 1 come 1 served basis, staff very friendly and helpful, highly recommended staying and would stop again but dissatisfied with limited breakfast as only toast and fruit and cereal, for the cost recommend to walk 5-10 minuets to f&b on parade street and can get full English breakfast cheaper. However doesn't take away the quality and service of staff and hotel a++++
The hotel is clean and has everything necessary. I managed to get a parking space outside the hotel and it costs £15 per day. The staff are exceptional. Nothing is too much. They are chatty and helpful and go out of their way to see if they can do anything for you. The lady on reception this morning (8 july) is managing the front desk, answering phone calls and making and serving breakfast - across two floors. Meanwhile she is calm as a cucumber when I would be in a constant state of panic. Asking everyone what else she can get for us and coming down to the breakfast area every now and then to check on us. This is the service I expect from a 5 star hotel not a 3 star hotel. The facilities are modern and clean and very cool - lots of techy buttons to press and a lovely bathroom, if a little small. The cleaning lady is also lovely, though doesn't speak English. My partner wasn't very well last night and was ill in the bathroom (May have had something to do with the England win vs Denmark...) - they are cleaning it free of charge. You have to order breakfast the night before, however they are very flexible come the morning. You can now sit in the breakfast room and the lady makes and brings you your food. It's basic but sufficient, quick and has most of what you'd expect. Location is also great, though the entrance isn't easy to find if you're in a car so watch out for the turning! So far after my first night it has been a fantastic stay and I would definitely stay here again.
I stayed for one night while stopping over in London. The room was clean, tidy, small but everything there. Good shower room. Service also good and they allowed early checkin. Decent location. I was tempted to rate as 5 star - but the room just a bit small. For a one night quick stopover at a cheapish price, I think delmere Best Western is a good choice.
Excellent location, warm and helpful staff during my 3 day stay, modern hotel and the cleanest I've stayed in, fast and easy check in and out, will definitely stay again. Touch screen lights and air con
Would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel. It is really well located, getting to attractions via the tube or a quick walk into Hyde park. The staff were excellent and nothing was a bother. Breakfast a little different from our last visit as it was not self service but still very good.
Great location, around 5 minutes walk from Paddington train station. It's nearby the train station but it's also not too crowded. So quite cosy to stay here. Room is also very comfy.. We have booked a small double room, but I found it anyhow bigger than expected. Staffs are also very friendly and helpful.
I first stayed here on a work trip as I needed to be close to Paddington station and it was in the ideal location. The hotel was super clean and staff friendly when I arrived and they showed me the drinks area where they provided free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and chilled water and ice - this was really nice as in the morning you can have a take out hot drink to take with you. The room was small but cosy, very clean and modern and also quiet. Everything was touchscreen so all the light switches and heating. I enjoyed my stay here and then a few weeks later me and my boyfriend decided on a last minute weekend in London and I found a very cheap deal for this hotel so booked it again! Would deffo recommend this hotel to anyone and would return again!
Myself and my partner were due to fly from N.Ireland to London tomorrow and stay until Sunday, due to the current situation of corona-virus all travel has been deemed as ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ONLY as per the government. We both rang the hotel to get a refund based on the fact we can no longer fly and have been refused, staff have been so unhelpful and rude. I had called today to try and see if they could even change the dates and the member of staff wouldn't even speak to me just told me to put it in an email, I asked if I would receive a response today and he said probably not (baring in mind we are due to travel tomorrow!). I understand it is a stressful time for everyone, a little bit of compassion would have been nice. So disappointed with the service we have received, or willingness to even help.
A lovely clean hotel with very modern amenities, viz light and shower controls. Staff are friendly and helpful. In fairness I thought the rooms were a little small for a Best Western Plus, but overall a comfortable stay
Would highly recommend this hotel, it was spotless, friendly staff, rooms and entrance were lovely, breakfast ideal, all facilities that I needed for a weekend break. It was very easy to get to from the station and for using the underground, I will use again Many thanks for making a lovely weekend even better
I spent 3 nights at this hotel & it was pretty much as the reviews said. The reception staff were all friendly & efficient & the location of the hotel was perfect for shops & restaurants & Paddington station. I had booked a small single room & that is what I got. London hotel rooms are generally very small. Although the bedroom & bathroom were small, the space had been well planned, including a shelf in the shower for toiletries. The shower stall was a fair size, there was plenty of hot water & shower pressure was good. The only place where the lack of space was a problem was between the toilet & basin. A large person would probably have a problem with this. The room was clean & there were tea & coffee making facilities. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the pillows were terrible. One was terribly hard & caused me to wake with a sore neck at 4am one morning. The other collapsed into a squashed heap when I used it to sit up in bed. These issues were mentioned in reviews I read before booking & I wish management would act on it & replace the pillows with decent ones. These affect sleep & comfort as much as a bad mattress. Other reviews I found to be true were those mentioning the lack of sound-proofing in the hotel. I could hear fire doors being closed on my floor & others & could also hear other guests moving around on either side of me, as well as above & below. Would I stay here again? Not sure, at this stage.
I've stayed at many mid-range hotels near Paddington station over the years, and most of them were... not very nice! The Delmere was a very pleasant surprise, and a very convenient 5 min walk from Paddington Station. My room was small, and the bathroom was tiny - but everything was very well designed to make best use of space. Stylish, contemporary furnishings, mood lighting, good shower and efficient secondary glazing to keep out street noise. My only gripe is that there was a lot of light at night from the various electronic switches and the TV standby light. Made me think that whoever designed the room didn't actually try sleeping in it! Friendly and efficient Reception team. Good value for the price I paid via the Best Western website.
If you're looking for a luxurious large room, this hotel is not the place. But if traveling alone for business like me, this is my go-to hotel. The location is perfect--five minute walk to Paddington Station and close to the park. The price is very reasonable for London. The service staff is very friendly. I always stay here when in London.
This hotel has every thing you could wish for in London great location close to the underground and train station . Quite location .From the moment we arrived nothing was to much trouble, the lady in reception arranged for our to ready , it was only 11.30 it was so kind . The Well appointed rooms with every thing you would need on business or leisure trip . It's our 4 th stay and looking forward to the 5th The reception staff are are always very helpful and friendly, there's even complimentary tea and coffee down stairs It's always interesting guessing which bow ties the two stone dogs will have on in the way.
My mother and I stayed in a room with two twin sized beds for seven nights. The room did not have a refrigerator, both the room and bathroom were very small, and breakfast was not included. We had power issues one night but the staff was able to fix it within a reasonable time. Our request for new towels and bed sheets were never fulfilled. But what really ruined our stay was discovering our souvenirs were missing the day before we left. We remembered where our souvenirs were located before we left for the day and before the cleaning staff came to our room. When we returned in the evening and noticed which items were missing, we immediately reported it to the front desk. The staff on duty said she couldn't do anything about it but left a note to the manager. We checked out the next morning and talked to the manager who couldn't fathom the possibility of her staff taking anything and even suggested we were lying. When we tried to get a further explanation, she replied “this conversation is over” and then just walked away without even apologizing. Extremely disappointed. There are plenty of other hotels around Paddington Station, I recommend staying at any other establishment before choosing this rubbish place. I'll say it again DO NOT stay at the Best Western Plus Delmere Hotel.
We stayed in a room with two twin sized beds for seven nights. The average price was $128 per night. It is NOT worth it because the room is extremely small, there's no refrigerator in the room, and breakfast is not included. The hotel does provide breakfast, the price is £9 per person, £7 if you purchased in advance. One night we had power issues and the staff had to come in to reset something. Our towels and bed sheets were never changed even when we requested in the middle of our stay. What really ruined our stay was that our souvenirs got stolen the day before we left. We noticed in the evening when we got back to the room and immediately reported it to the front desk. The staff just said she couldn't do anything about it but left a note to the manager. We checked out the next morning and talked to the manager who strongly defended her staff and claimed that they did not take anything. When I expressed my dissatisfaction as a customer, she replied “this conversation is over” and then just walked away without even apologizing. Extremely disappointed.
Our room was recently refurbished, comfortable, quiet and in good order. There was no view from the window but that didn't matter to us. Our room was ready when we arrived about 12:30 and we were able to check in early. The location was perfect for us being a few minutes walk from Paddinton station.
Love everything there. It's alway be my first choice of stay in London. So close to everything and Paddington station where I can simply take the Airport Express within 15min. The breakfast has good selection of food as well. The room amenities and design are well designed. You can tell it has been carefully thought through on how things should be located. A lovely hotel I will choose again for next London trip.
How many times guests are threatened and disrespected by a receptionist (Giuseppe) for asking the basic rights ??!! I just asked to change the room because I had been given a room in the basement and my 2 sim cards from 2 diffrent countries didn't have any signal for making/receiving calls!! Yes, it was not life threatening but he was very rude and said literally while shouting "if you continue I will report you to the best western program" funny but stressful to be disrespected from receptionist. He was even refusing to connect me to the manager to talk to him saying I already talked to him and nothing he can do and we can't change your room because its your personal sim cardS and we are not reaponsible!! I just have to live like back in the days without phone :) I had to go out the following day when I was fed up to look for the manager myself till I found another receptionist (on his tag) who claimed to be the manager who changed my room in 30 min!! I am not the complaining type of person but felt offended and wanted to share my experience. As a frequent traveler this was my worst experience. Thanks for reading.
Well located (Padington). Walking distancz from Marble Arch/Hyde Park if u a are a good walker. Room was clean and new. Tiny bathroom but good shower. Quite small room but very common in London. Quite area
A short 5 minute walk from Paddington train and Underground station with several restaurant and pub options nearby. There is a Big Bus Hop On stop around the corner and a London bus stop across the street that goes the Central London. can't be more convenient. It is a small hotel with less than 20 rooms. A small lobby and breakfast room on the first floor. The rooms are London size (small) but clean and comfortable. Free WiFi and nice TV. coffee maker but no frig.
The room was clean, quiet and delightful. There was adequate room. I realized there was no hot water and it was nearly 11pm and the front staff immediately moved me to another room which was appreciated. Less than a 5 minute walk from Paddington Station. Would definitely stay here again on any future trips.
We had a very small twin room. The photos of the room were accurate. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the shower was hot...the three things I value most in a hotel room. This was my first stay in the UK and we were only there for one night on a very long layover. This location enabled us to make the most effective use of our time as it is just two blocks from the Paddington train station which is where the Heathrow Express Train terminates. We arrived late and had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs which was probably the only real negative. The neighborhood seemed safe enough as we walked to a nearby restaurant and pub at 10:45pm, though being a Wednesday evening they closed shortly after we arrived. My only disappointment was the litter strewn about outside on the street. These are old row houses converted to various brand name hotels and the litter was up and down the entire street, not just in front of the Best Western. I suppose part of my disappointment stems from my image of these iconic homes from old movies and PBS films...I wanted them to hold the regal upscale feel and the litter just didn't help that. . We left our luggage with the desk the next morning and took a crisp fall morning walk to Hype Park, on to Buckingham Palace, down the Mall, through the lovely parks to Downing Street, Parliament Square, etc. We took a cab back to the hotel at 11am and caught the Express train to Heathrow with plenty of time to get through TSA for our 2:15pm flight. I'd stay there again in a similar situation.
My husband and I had a real good impression of this hotel when we were there in year 2010 so we decided to stay there again this time. It turned out to be a good decision. I agree with other reviewers about the excellent location, nicely renovated hotel, clean rooms, delicious breakfast, etc. but what we appreciate the most is the reception staff there, Gianni, Olga, Maelle and Aldina. They really made a difference to us. What happen was that my passport got stolen on the tube the day before we were to leave for our cruise. You can't imagine just how upset and stressful we were during that time. These reception staff helped us with making contacts and arrangements until they finally sent us off to catch our cruise. I am happy to tell them that we have safely arrived home now. Thank you – Gianni, Olga, Maelle and Aldina for your kindness and support. God Bless you.
Great location a couple blocks from Paddington Station. Close to Metro. Well within walking distance of many of London's sites. Very modern rooms although small by North American standards. Internet connection, great. Lots of restaurants close by.
very slick hotel, just round the corner from Paddington, lovely quiet room at the back, everything you needed in a small but comfortable space, immaculately clean, would highly recommend this hotel for a trip to london
Worst hotel experience ever. The room was literally 6 feet wide with a futon like single mattress. They charged more than I was quoted when I made reservation with Corporate. Check in told me to call Corporate if I didn't like it. I will do that. DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
The hotel was very well located, the service was perfect and the rooms very clean. The Front desk with a huge smile ready to assist you. I would only recommend a bigger variety on the breakfast, it was a bit poor
The hotel disappoints in its people quality. Good location but you can find 30 other hotels within 3 minutes walk. The staff are unhelpful for a hospitality industry. Tendency is to blame guests for problems rather than to provide solutions. If you choose to stay at this hotel, avoid the executive/deluxe room. You will pay more and be put into the basement floor with no or inconsistent mobile phone signal. If you request for a room change, you will be downgraded into a smaller standard room with no refund or compensation for the room difference. The room you vacate will immediately be made available for booking...a good scam.
The first time I came here alone, I was very satisfied and recommended on the website. The second time, I came here with my friend. They gave me Room 014 whose window is faced to a corridor. On that night, a guy walked back and forth in that corridor. The noise is too loud that my friend and I cannot sleep. This time, I came here with my mum. We booked 6 days. The first three days we are arranged in Room 002. This room is under the public cafe. The noise of moving chairs sounds like a train coming through our room. When I told my mum not all of the rooms are so bad, I told myself please give them another chance. Then on the 4th day we changed room. When they gave me the room card, I was shocked. It is still Room 014 and I still cannot change the room. By the way, the safe is broken. I told the reception desk but when I came back at 4.30, no one fixed that.
Booked this for a stay when travelling from Wales to go to Proms in The Park 14 Sept 2019. When booking I put faith in that the positive reviews on here outweighed the negative ones, although as we arrived in London and were walking the very short walk from Paddington Station towards hotel I was worrying, but at the end of the day all we needed was a clean bed for the night. What a surprise we got. The entrance was clean and well maintained and the two stone dogs at the doorway were both wearing Union Jack bow ties which we thought was a cute touch for Proms night.. The reception was clean and modern and we were greeted by a very smiley and welcoming staff member who checked us in and guided us to our room. We were on the lower ground floor, which initially made me sigh as had read a review from another visitor on here that had been "in the dungeon" as he called it but thought ho hum we just need a bed it doesnt really matter. Well yet another surprise. The whole hotel is super modern, with automatic sliding doors and sensor touch buttons etc. There is a lift available for travellers with many bags or unable to take the stairs. The walk to the room was brightly lit with natural light as there is a stairway that leads up to an open air area. We entered the room and yet more surprise, it was a decent size, the bed was nice and big and beautifully made, the room was nicely decorated, with tea and coffee making, a huge TV, a safe and a fridge, hairdryer and towels provided. The en-suitet was lovely too, with a walk in rain shower, modern dispensers fitted in the shower area with shampoo/body wash and conditioner. The room has sensor touch mood lighting, and climate control which was amazing as it was a scorchio the weekend we were in London. The bed linen was white and crisp and the bed it self was ooooh so comfy. There were extra pillows available in the room if needed. We both slept like logs, no noise disturbance at all - as mentioned in other reviews saying that the walls are thin etc. We were not disturbed by other residents nor were we disturbed by traffic noise, this may have been a bonus of being on the lower ground I don't know. We live in rural wales and are used to the quiet of the countryside at night so the hustle and bustle of london noise would most definitely have been noticed by us. I cannot fault our room it was clean, tidy, modern, and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast is continental and again faultless. Lots of options, cereal, meats, cheese, croissants, toast, eggs (already boiled and available cold or you could cook your own) fruit, and plenty more, and american style pancakes were also available and cooked to order which were absolutely delicious, also endless tea coffee juice etc. They also catered for different diet restrictions/intolerances, I seriously cannot fault our stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again or to recommend it to friends and family. It is a short walk from Paddington (and I am sure other stations but we came in at Paddington) and a short walk from Hyde Park, all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed out time here.
This hotel is very well located near Hyde Park, public transport, markets and nice restaurants. The coffee bar downstairs is very convenient. Our room was tiny but clean and modern. The bathroom was big compared to the room, which is good. The staff was always helpful and polite.
I was flying from South Africa and landing in London early Wednesday August 28th. I called several days in advance to confirm that my room would be ready. This was confirmed. I also asked if the hotel was full on the evening of August 27th to make sure i could get a room. Both answers were positive, the hotel was NOT full the evening of August 27th and my room would be available when i arrived the morning of August 28th from Heathrow. I arrive at 9:20am in the morning knowing i had about 1 hour before my first meeting at 10:30am. The lady at the front desk said she knew nothing about my early arrival. But she phoned her boss and asked if room 17 could be cleaned quickly, which it could. i said i would go downstairs and have breakfast. For GBP9.00, the 'breakfast' was disgusting, and not worth the money. Rather go out for breakfast. It will be cheaper and better quality. I returned to the check-in area to get my room, and the same lady in the front said i could only check in at 3pm, policy rules. Clearly i would not have booked this place if i was told i could only check in at 3pm. And this was after I was told room 17 was been cleaned and had confirmed everything a few days earlier. I asked for a refund and they said they would not refund my money, that I had to get a refund from Expedia. The rudeness, and lies, and inferior food is a clear signal. 3 strikes, the Best Western Plus Delmare is OUT. And i fly to London once a month. I will NEVER stay here. This firm lost consistent business. So i went immediately next door, and got a room for GBP60, with a hotel that went out of their way to help me. Literally, right next door. AVOID the Best Western Plus Delmare AT ALL COSTS !
Been traveling extensively for business more than 20 years across the globe, worst room ever. Booked an executive room, at check-in found myself in this dungeon in the basement feel like bloody Harry Potter in his cupboard under the stairs this is the only window and the view.... The answer Sorry, sir we are fully booked so can't give you another room. You should have told us that you wanted a room with a proper window when you booked....
Great two night stay... near to station...comfortable bed..lived up to previous reviews...rooms not spacious but perfectly designed...everything you need from wet room shower to hairdryer and magnifying mirror! Newly refurbished and very clean. Great value in a great location! Close to London Road for some good eateries/cafes for breakfast Walkable distance to eateries in Little Venice for lunch on the canal. Hope to return soon.
The Good: Delmere is an easy walk from Paddington with many restaurants and convenience stores along the way. Check in was smooth and the room was better than expected. It was clean, compact and well designed with usb chargers, full size toiletries and clever use of space. The Bad: Room is small. No room service, basic tv channels only, water pressure low. Thin walls, so it gets noisy. The Ugly: we left some gourmet cheeses, fruit and unopened drinks in the fridge. We called less than an hour after checkout, they said they would check if it had been thrown away and call back. They didn't.We called again- they said they were very busy and would call us back. They didn't. Third call, they said no update as no one had gone in the room yet. We pointed out that meant our stuff was still there and we would come back to get it. Went all the way back, grumpy recep handed over the cheese. I said what about the other stuff, he said “only cheese”. Sure the other stuff was not costly but still, rather dishonest and bad service, don't you think?
Recently booked hotel for visit in London. The hotel is cozy and has great modern amenities. We arrived early before check-in and they stored our baggage until room ready. The staff were professional. Would stay here again.
Helpful staff. clean, quiet rooms. Front desk seemed to be managed well and always had 2 people. I had a small, solo room. The water pressure was pretty good. Continental breakfast was as expected. 3 blocks or so to Paddington station.
This hotel has every thing you could wish for in London great location close to the underground and train station . Quite location . Well well appointed rooms with every thing you would need on business or leisure. It's our 3 rd stay and looking forward to the 4th The reception staff are are always very helpful and friendly, there's even complimentary tea and coffee down stairs It's always interesting guessing which bow ties the two stone dogs will have on in the way.
Yes the rooms are small, particularly the bathroom, but very clean and modern. I especially appreciated the smart TV with BBC iplayer and YouTube. We didn't have the breakfast as we prefer a cooked breakfast. There are plenty options round the corner. Friendly staff at all times, even the night shift guy . We've used a few hotels in Sussex Gardens and this is one of the best.
Small hotel with very modern and clean rooms Absolutely ideal location for people who like to walk or take transit. Most rooms sleep one or two people. Bathroom is very modern with everything you need. Beds are comfy. Lobby is small but has a "hub" where you can sit, get a drink, coffee or water and read the paper or make plans for the day. Hotel staff is very helpful - they helped us sort out our attractions and booked our party of 7 a cab to the airport. Breakfast was filling, lots of choices. Hotel is quiet, in a safe neighbourhood with lots of shops and small restaurants and only two blocks from Hyde Park, about 1.5 km from Kensington Palace and walking-distance to Oxford Street for shopping. It is a four minute walk to Paddington Station which is on the Baker-loo line so easy access to the West End for theatres, the London Eye and the National Gallery. Also the train from, Heathrow goes to Paddington so easy transit access to and from airport. On a relatively quiet street. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for 2 nights. It was a great experience, clean, friendly staff, and convenient location. Walking distance to restaurants and convenient stores, hop on and off bus (tickets bought from reception desk), and paddington station (easy for eurostar and heathrow express trains)
Everything was perfect during our stay ! Quiet place, crystal clean, well located, excellent service and great breakfast ! Superb attitude from hotel's personnel. I would definitely come back in future trips !
Very modern small hotel 2 blocks from Paddington. Saying remodeled doesn't do it justice! Sleek room with double windows for quiet. All lights are dimmable and energy controls are efficient and turn off when you walk out.
We stayed at this hotel as we were attending 'British Summer Time' at Hyde Park. I would say it's small but perfectly formed! The room had everything we needed and for a one night stay it was ideal. The 'double' bed was just about a double, but the room was extremely clean and had every convenience (even a magnifying mirror in the bathroom). I would certainly recommend it. Not cheap, but it's London, you don't get cheap! Staff were nice too :-)
Stayed 1 week. Room 2 single beds. Small but very new, clean , modern.Great shower. Great temperature control in room during hot weather. Quite. Comfy beds. Friendly staff.5 min walk with luggage from paddington station. I will stay again!!
Friendly, helpful staff. Standard double room small but cleverly laid out. Wonderfully convenient location. We were able to walk from hotel through Hyde Park to the V and A museum. We would like to stay there again on our next trip to London.
We were pleased overall with rooms & friendliness & helpfulness at Delmere Hotel. However, we did have an issue regarding breakfast (breakfast reservations were made in error-we did not want breakfast included). Front desk told us several times we would have to talk to the manager, yet on 3 different occasions, we were told she was busy. Good customer service implies we should have at least been able to discuss this matter.
Lovely hotel, staff Uber friendly. Rooms were small but all I wanted was somewhere to sleep. All rooms were well equipped and so environmentally friendly.. would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a central stay xx
I picked this hotel because it was the best rated hotel near Paddington that wasn't too expensive. Although the front desk people are very nice and professional and everything went very smoothly (plus the room was very quiet, which I had asked for, and had a good firm bed), I wouldn't stay there again. The reason is just that everything is small -- no surprise that the room is small (with a bathroom that was small enough to discourage use of the shower), but there are no comfortable large public spaces to relax in. Given the price, which was NOT low (215 British pounds for one night), I would have hoped for a more comfortable experience. Next time, if I need to stay near Paddington, I'd look for another hotel.
We've been to London a number of times and stayed in various hotels but none as nice as this one. The hotel was just a 7 minute walk from Paddington station and easy to find. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly reception staff and check in was quick and easy. We had booked a small double and were very happy with our room, the whole hotel was spotlessly clean with modern décor, fixtures and fittings. While the hotel only offers a continental breakfast it had plenty of choice on offer and was actually a nice change from the full English we'd usually go for. When I arrived home following our trip I realised that I had left my tablet in our room, the hotel had already tried to make contact with me to make me aware of this however by the time I picked up the message it was to late to return. The hotel dealt with this fantastically, arranging for the tablet to be returned by courier which I received today (3rd day back from trip). Overall we had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely stay at this here on our next trip to London.
The hotel was located in a long line of Victorian row houses that have been converted into hotels. Like anything you will find in central London, the rooms are small but were very modern with snazzy little amenities like push-button dimmable lights. It is located just a short walk from Paddington station, and close to many restaurants. We arrived well ahead of check-in time after a long international flight, but the staff was so very kind and were able to get us into a room early. Given how many hotels there were in the area, we appreciated the stone dog statues outside with the adorable bowties - they helped us find the hotel especially after a couple drinks at the nearby Victoria pub or The Monkey Puzzle.
great location, staff, room - we would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to our friends - we were able to check in early when we asked to leave luggage - staff helped with questions about attractions, etc
I stay at the BW Delmare most times I'm in London because the location is excellent. It's within walking distance of Paddington and Hyde Park. The staff is lovely, the breakfast is a good value, and they offer free coffee/tea all day.Our room had been renovated since my last stay and was well designed with enough outlets and usb charging ports.
Amazed this is a Best Western Hotel and a claimed 3 stars, had better hostel experiences, will never stay here again. Excessive noise, dirty bedding, smelly bathrooms and management refused to address the matter in person or by email. Even the wifi didnt work and they didnt know what to do about it, as managers dont work most evenings. Like other previous guests i have now found out, the management response was an arrogant, untrue and a "we've had your money, we're not interested" one. After no wifi, about 2 hours sleep, having changed the bedding myself, in a smelly room (bathroom waste type) with flaking paint on the headboard and desk, constantly being woken up by an elevator and noisey tiled floor above, witnessed and photographed by their own reception staff, having asked for a manager to come to my room first thing in the morning to see it all, who never arrived despite being emailed by reception to do so, leaving me to just leave out of total frustration, their response, we cant see any reason for a complaint or compensation as we think it was all fine and we dont visit guest rooms! Clearly their responses to other unhappy guests on this site are misleading and untrue, and having experienced their very poor leadership and awful customer service, i couldnt believe a word they say on here. Im sure their response to this will be the same incorrect assessment like others have had, blame the customer, its not our fault everything was fine, we did everything we could, lots of smoke and mirrors etc etc. If you want a peaceful nights sleep, quality rooms, a little dignity and comfort, I'd choose another hotel, dont waste your money or sleep. In 20 years of hotel stays i have never wrote a negative review ever, thats how poor the management dealt with this and disgusting i feel their treatment is.
Close to Paddington Station, with easy access to tube, bus, etc, this building has been completely refurbished giving small but excellent rooms, where everything was clean and worked properly. Friendly staff who actually seemed to care.
A small but perfect hotel in a super convenient location, perfect got access to central London and Heathrow. We only had a one night break but I would stay here again without hesitation. Hotel was immaculate, staff very pleasant. We didn't eat at the hotel as visit so short.
excellent central location. great size room for me my wife and an infant. Very contemporary. Staff was super friendly. The biggest bang for your buck. It will definitely be my first choice the next time i plan to travel to London. walking distance from everything.
Hotel has been modernised and has therefore modern rooms. The rooms seem to be small, which is to be expected in London. The executive room I booked however was downstairs and in a very small courtyard. As the room only had a very small window in the corner in an alcove it meant there was no natural light in the room at all,not what I expected from the most expensive rooms. I asked to change room at reception as I was going to stay for 4 days and also needed to work from my room for some mornings. They said they needed to ask the manager and would come back to me. Several hours later I asked them again to be told it is not possible to change rooms. For the rest the experience was good. The room is clean, breakfast was good enough (no english breakfast though), breakfast staff was friendly. Bathroom : Good shower ,but being 1.92 the bathroom/toilet is very small forcing you to sit sideway on the toilet.
Overall very happy with my stay. Room clean, comfy and stylish. Wi-Fi was above average good and more then satisfied with the breakfest. Didn't stay much at the hotel, but was more then satisfied with my experience.
I was so pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I frequently travel to London for business and for this price range we end up in some pretty dodgy places which are old, creaky and generally not welcoming. This hotel seems recently renovated, the staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and efficient and the rooms, while small, have all the necessary comforts (and a proper hairdryer - very important!). I also loved the connectivity, the wifi is great, in the rooms all the controls are digital and there are even USB ports. It's the small things, right? I was very impressed by the Hub, a small workspace with free coffee (and pretty decent) and magazines. The staff were also very helpful in storing some things in the fridge for me. The proximity to Paddington station is perfect for early morning flights out of Heathrow. I hope to be back again soon!
Our second stay at the Delmere and we were just as pleased as our first visit. We even got a parking space right at the front door. As before the staff were superb and the quality of the hotel is excellent. Good range of quality food for the continental breakfast. We shall be back Thank you
After years of staying at The Lancaster (and loving it) for work, I found myself needing a place for a quick overnight to pre-position for Heathrow. I wanted something close to Paddington Station. I used Delta Airlines online hotel search and discovered this hotel on Sussex Gardens. Because the price was phenomenal, I was a little concerned, but the place blew me away. As a solo traveler I selected a single/twin bed room that ended up being perfect. This hotel appears to have been recently remodeled. My room was spotlessly clean and contained current technology like digital light switches, USB ports, fast wifi, etc. The room takes advantage of its space. The twin bed was comfortable, shower was great. I did hear people on occasion entering rooms, but once they were inside, I didn't hear anything else. Check in and out was easy. The 5 minute walk to Paddington couldn't be more convenient. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. I am definitely keeping this place in mind for future travels to London.
The room I stayed in at the Delamere hotel was small but beautifully formed. Very comfortable bed, excellent compact bathroom, clean, great shower etc. Small hotel but really good quality. Good location for Paddington Station, Oxford Street, West End and museums.
I recently stayed at this hotel when I visited London for the weekend. It was central, relatively affordable compared to other hotels in the area and easy to locate. The room was nice, clean and not too small considering the location. I was surprised with the low level of noise as well, the area was quiet. I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it if you are looking for somewhere central to stay in London.
I arrived quite late but was welcomed and made to feel a bit special - not something you get that often in London. Even better - as I had to leave at 6.30 in the morning the wonderful receptionist took a breakfast order ( gluten free) and delivered it at 6.20am to my door. He even went and found some GF cereal !! The room was as described a cosy double ; definitely cosy - no cat swinging here but it was warm ; well lit and quiet. The shower was fantastic All round excellent - will return I stayed on the 13th March of BW want to reward the receptionist - I did not catch his name - but a great ambassador
We often need an overnight stay near Paddington, when travelling from Devon to one of the London airports, but this was the first time we'd used the Best Western Delmere Hotel and we'll definitely look to stay here another time. It's easy to find and approximately 5-10mins from the station, so not too far to drag your bags (which incidentally we were able to leave while we had a quick walkabout on our final morning.) Our room was smallish and cosy, but we had everything we needed for our short stay and the shower room was very good. We managed to secure a winter deal to include continental breakfast and this was plentiful and fresh. The staff were very professional and helpful, also making the Delmere definitely a good choice.
Lovely and friendly staff. Good location in lovely buildings. Continental breakfast only but it was fine. Room was small but lovely and modern and clean with lovely modern touches. Only down wide is that it was quite noisy when people were moving above and some sort of strange noise in the room which seemed to happen every hour through the night. Overall, good hotel apart from the noise of other noisy guests.
We had a good stay at Best Western! We liked our room and everything inside our room looked modern and classic. Everything looks just like the photos advertised on Booking! The bed was comfy and the internet was good. We did enjoy complimentary tea / coffee that the hotel provided to all guests in the lobby area. Staff were helpful and friendly. It is a 10-minute walk to Paddington Station where you can take the tube or get on a bus to wherever you'd like to go! There are also cafes and restaurants near by which is in walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel and we'd stay here again when we visit London next time. Thank you!
This is a lovely little hotel about 5 minutes walk from Paddington station. Rooms are smallish but very stylish and the decor is up to date. Continental breakfast buffet is the only option available on site, but it is good value with lots of variety.
I recomend this Best Western Jotel for the briliand way they have equipped rooms. It's really nice to see that you can have almost 5star facilities in so little room space. Magnificent decoration very ergonomically setting and a value for money proposal. Needles to say how friendly and efficient the staff was.
The hotel room was really well designed - compact, neat and smart. Temperature control for the room, mood lighting etc - lots of nice touches. Very comfortable bed. We'll definitely be back. Perfect for a night or two, and 2min walk from Paddington in London.
In the last twelve months I have been to the Middle East, the USA, France, Spain and Germany and I have not always stayed in a hotel and only very rarely in a hotel of such outstanding quality. This is a real bijoux of a hotel. Small, clean, cozy and with every mod con you can wish for. Eco rain shower to save 4 liters a minute (you can splash out if you wish, you decide) electric do not disturb and please make up room signs, a well stocked bar and an adequate breakfast buffet. (Remember this officially a three star hotel). Whatever company we look at the real difference is made by the staff and here again this hotel (with one noticeable exception) stands head and shoulder above its competitors. I had forgotten to take my USB charging cable with me and when I enquired at the front desk the gentleman said: Not a problem Sir, we can lend you one. Fabulous. The location is ideal for tourism and business and I really should not be praising this hotel as it will probably mean that it will be fully when I want to stay - but they deserve it. I had a wonderful weekend in London a lot of this is due to this wee hotel. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!
An excellent hotel conveniently placed and easy to access via Tube and road. Greeted enthusiastically and without any fuss. CHeck in and out were easy and the coffee/cafe area very handy. Rooms have been modernised to 21st century standard.
Rooms are really small, and the toilet even more, difficult to fit and shower. On top of that, the bed was not done, only covered again with the linen. The location is really close toPaddington station. The area is calm and safe.
We are so happy with the hotel, given its in London and with a very good price, we are satisfied with the well equipped, high technology room. In the heart of London, very easy to access to underground, paddington station. With a lot of restaurants surround by.
We stayed just one night on Christmas Day and were really pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very close to Paddington station and a good selection of restaurants and transport. Our room was a small double but spotless and extremely well equiped. Touch screen controls for lighting etc and a superb rain shower. We had an excellent price on booking.com and would certainly stay again
I typically stay with a different chain but the price and location of this hotel caught my attention. I only stayed one night and got the "comfy" room for one person. It was advertised as small so i knew what to expect. However everything was laid out so nicely and functional that I really enjoyed the experience. Less than 5 min from Paddington station so it was very convenient as well. Decent fish restaurant around the corner too. Breakfast was nice. Room is extremely modern. It was also quiet.
We enjoyed our stay at the Delmere. The accommodations were excellent and the location in the Paddington Station neighborhood was perfect. We'll definitely be back for any visit soon. Thanks for everything.
This hotel is very close to the Paddington Train Station and Underground Station. So you are 15 minutes from the Heathrow Airport by Express Train and less than 10 minutes from the Big Ben by subway. Very nice location. Service was excellent with rooms very comfortable and modern.Special thanks to Mario, a very nice employee who did our late check-in on the first night and served us in the bar on the second night.
This hotel was an excellent hotel. The location was close to restaurants, metro and within walking distance to attractions (35 min approx). The staff went out of their way to be courteous and helpful. The rooms were modern, lovely and clean. The breakfast was continental style but you could also ask for pancakes that were wonderful. We will look forward to staying there again on return trips.
Although it was over £400 for two nights B&B the quality of the hotel and the central location was well worth it. The staff were really efficient and friendly. Even sorted out a parking space for our stay and at very reasonable cost. The hotel is really fresh and decorated beautifully. The room although quite small was comfortable and the bathroom with rain shower was great. The breakfast although continental was very good, you could even boil your own egg to your liking. A good range of foods were on offer. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to London
I stayed here for 3 nights and didn't have any complaints. Convenient location within walking distance to Paddington Station, Hyde park, shops & restaurants. The room was small but very clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again.
I wanted to say that this hotel is in the center of everything. Right by Paddington Station, it was easy to get to anywhere you wanted to travel. It was clean and the service was great. Only con, is that the room is tiny. My aunt and I were a bit cramped, but we only stayed overnight. But the beds were really comfortable and it was so quiet. Overall it was a great place for a short stay before heading on our cruise.
A small but comfortable, clean, nicely decorated hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was varied and of very good quality and the hotel was surprisingly quiet given its location. I'd definitely stay here again.
The hotel was in a great position for Paddington station and the offices nearby, although the walk up late at night by myself wasn't the best walk I've done! The staff throughout were really friendly, from the front desk to the breakfast room, and I got checked in quickly. The room was in a courtyard area, which was a little odd but it was warm nonetheless. It wasn't huge, but I felt like I had the space I needed for one night and was really clean. It was also very moden, with buttons to control the level of lighting in the bathroom and the "sleeping" sign on the door. The shower was great, just what was needed after a long day, and the bed was really comfy. I was concerned that a droning noise from a pipe or air con would keep me awake, but it didn't seem to make a difference and I slept well. I'd paid extra for breakfast, so I got up earlier than I needed to so that I could go round and have it. The breakfast room was really small and the buffet was as small, so there wasn't much choice. It was mostly cold, apart from boiled eggs and toast, and to be honest I don't think it was worth the additional £9 or so I paid. I would happily recommend the hotel, although not the breakfast, and if I need to be in that area again I'd consider rebooking as the overall experience was good.
Pros: - central location, 5 mins walk to Paddington, easy access to Heathrow Airport - nice street, lots of big trees, no big traffic - fresh, modern, classy interiors, recently renovated - comfortable bed - breakfast is ok Cons: - my single room was uncomfortably small, ~1m free space around the bed, good only for sleep - bathroom is so small I could not dry, and sitting on the loo was an exercise 'coz basin is in the way - thin walls, noises from neighbours and from the corridor came into the room - if room lights are dimmed, the TV screen brightness dims automatically as well, so You dont see it well, and cant do anything about it, because screen brightness control is disabled in the remote, very annoying
A hidden gem nestled between several hotels with convenient access to Paddington Station and Underground. Friendly and efficient Reception staff with the Duty Manager on site. Superbly renovated to a high standard with modern decor and appliances. Like most London hotels, the rooms are small, but so well-appointed that they don't feel their size. I've finally found my “go to” London hotel.
After being kept awake for more than an hour by the noise of the couple next door's sexual athletics, I decided enough was enough and tried to get reception to relocate me or do something about the problem. There were no rooms for relocation so a call was made to the room but the noise continued beyond this until beyond 1am. The walls must be paper thin and that is very unexpected in a hotel of a reputable brand. Overall the staff were unhelpful and did not really try to solve the problem. What people want to get up to in their room is entirely up to them, and good luck to them, but I don't see why it should impact upon me.
This tiny hotel is located a block or two from the Paddington underground. This made it so easy to travel the city and have a good home base to go to. Friendly staff made the visit very pleasant. The rooms are very small, so know that going in. If you are just using this hotel for sleeping, you should not have problems. Beds comfortable. Again, realize that the space is very concentrated, but very workable. Plenty of restaurants and pubs located nearby. Recommend this spot for those who are looking for an intimate space to rest.
I recently stayed at the BWP Delmere Hotel on a personal trip to London. I wanted a reasonably priced hotel, close to Paddington Station and within walking distance to Oxford and Edgeware Roads where my friends who went on this trip with me were staying. The primary reason I picked this hotel was the fact that I am a Best Western Rewards (BWR) member. I did book a single "cozy" room and hoped that my higher BWR status might get me a room upgrade. Alas this was not to be (unlike in the US, it seems European hotels are more reluctant to upgrade you). I was given the option of points or a free beverage of choice. I decided to go with the points. The front desk staff were quite friendly and pleasant upon my arrival. I did arrive a few hours before the official check in time but the staff were able to accommodate my early check-in with minimum wait time. This was nice. The room itself was quite compact but did stay with the "cozy" theme. I am about 5'11 with a medium frame and the room size was about right. If I were any bigger it would have perhaps been uncomfortable. It was very modern, with modern fittings and controls. Having the main room controls within arms reach from the bedside was definitely a plus. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft. The bathroom was quite small! I was surprised by the practical design of it that allowed you to keep your basic toiletries and towels but the room to move around was somewhat restrictive. As for location, this hotel was perfect. Easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions and being close to the station was great. My goal was to make travel from London Heathrow to the hotel to be quick and painless and this was achieved. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone who is looking for these same goals. I did take the Heathrow Express from Heathrow Airport to Paddington and then walked about 5 minutes to the hotel. Would recommend you download the Heathrow Express App and purchase tickets on it as you do get some nice deals. The TRL train from Heathrow to Paddington is another less costly but a bit longer time wise option if staying in a hotel in the Paddington area.
Compact and cheerful. Location, quality, price: value for money. Very helpful staff. Will definitely return. Breakfast also good. - A two-haiku review (If you can't say what you want in 34 syllables, you're not really trying.)
This hotel has a great location a couple of blocks from Paddington Station which is the terminus of the Heathrow Express train. The Paddington Tube stop is also right there. The hotel has modern conveniences in the room for charging and using your electrical devices. The room was small (typical of London), but well furnished and clean with full ensuite bathroom. The continental breakfast is cheaper if you reserve the night before and the price is reasonable for London.
Very small Best Western. Smallish rooms but very modern, everything working and updated electronics. Breakfast was adequate. (could not expect too much variety with the small number of rooms). Centrally situated 10 minutes walk from Paddington Station (more from the circle tube line) and ten minutes to Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Would stay here in a heartbeat. Contrary to other comments we found the reception staff pleasant and helpful.
Even though the room was quite small, we loved the location. We were able to easily walk from Paddington. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bathroom was also small, but had updated fixtures and was clean. Would be happy to stay there again.
Our second time to the Paddington are and this hotel. The hotel rooms have every thing you need. There's free coffee in reception to take with you It's positioned 500mtrs from the train stations under and overground. Within walking distance of oxford street, Hyde park, madam Tussaud, Baker Street. Harrods is only the other side of the park. The area has more than engough restaurants and bars to choice from offering cuisine from around the world . Well worth using for your stay .
When we arrived we were told to go to the second floor and down the steps. I assumed it was a few steps, but it was an entire flight of stairs and no one offered to help us. We get in our room and it's hot and stuffy. The wkndow can't even open and the AC is off. We call the front desk and they said they'd turn the AC on. Not sure why it wasn't on in the first place, but ok. 20 minutes pass and it's still not on, so we go downstairs, tell them it's broken. They said they would send someone in while we grabbed lunch. We return, the front desk even sees us and says hi, but when we get to our room we see the window is now sligntly open and there's a fan in our room. Telling us themselves they couldn't fix our AC would have been better than going back and finding that. My travel partner went back downstairs to argue with staff, and eventually we were able to get a new room. Instead of two twins we had to share a full, but at least it had working AC. The hotel boasts that it's eco friendly, so the lights and AC shut off when you leave the room. That's fine, except it kept happening when we slept. We kept waking up in the middle of the night sweating and uncomfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom was weak, never felt like I got my conditioner out. The breakfast was decent, nothing special. The rooms were clean, modern, and nicely decorated. The location is decent if you need the hospital or Paddington station, but wouldn't recommend for tourists. Would not stay here again.
Looking for a business hotel overnight, I'm glad the office found me this hotel - in a lovely spot, close to the underground & station etc. Yes, the rooms might be on the small side (the whole layout is quite 'tight'), but so what (if there's just one of you) and although not huge, the rooms have some nice touches like HDMI links for your laptop to the TV, fancy lighting & air con controls & quality touch-button bathroom fittings. Breakfast (continental) was fine and all-in-all good value (for London!!!)
Nice room with all the necessary equipment. Room and bed was small, though. I liked the fact that light, air-conditioning and the Do not distrub sign was controlled from the same control panel by the bed. Wonderful surroundings close to Hyde Park
Small hotel but with all the comforts, excellent WiFi connectivity and conveniently located closer to Paddington station and bus routes. Room was well appointed though I would have preferred slightly taller ceiling due to my height! Room was free from any noise that really helped with my sleep. Would have preferred to see a chiller and provided to keep my fresh food and fruit juices cold. One other improvement would be to provide complimentary bottled water for guests.Very good restaurants, pubs and convenient stores located close-by gthat provided lot of choice in eating out or taking food away.Overall good value for money.
We stayed for a couple of nights while visiting London. Nice, clean, modern hotel 5-10 mins walk from Paddington station. Staff were excellent. Our room was a little small but perfectly formed. The air con wasn't much good but we were given a fan by staff....which was better than nothing in the heat. Decent continental breakfast which was more than adequate for us. Happily stay there again but we'd book a bigger room.
Spent an overnight layover from Europe on our way back to the US. Big tip for traveling to London - catch the Heathrow Express from the airport to Paddington Station. We purchased our Heathrow Express train tickets ahead of time on-line and traveled to Paddington Station where we walked about 5 minutes to the Hotel DelMere. It is in a nice and quiet location surrounded by restaurants and is a 5 minute walk to Paddington Station. The rooms are updated and clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. We had a room with 2 twins, and a room with one double bed. Both rooms were nicely appointed and the bathrooms, while small, were very functional. The breakfast was full of continental items - a nice way to start the day. I'd recommend this hotel since it is conveniently located in London - near the train station - and is a great home base for touring the city. Be sure to use the Heathrow Express to save time - it's not worth trying to get a taxi into London from the airport since the traffic is so bad.
The hotel is in a great location close to Paddington and Hyde Park. The interior is clean, newly renovated and most things in the room can be done just by pressing a button! We had booked a Standard double room but got an upgrade and still the room was pretty small. This is not a complaint, we are skinny people with little luggage :D, just mentioning it since it could be an issue for someone else. The lobby area is really small and right in front of the reception (so this is not a hotel for people who like hanging around in the hotel lobby as I never saw anyone sitting there), but there is a nice area behind it with a table and chairs where you can get free coffee, tea, water and ice. We very much appreciated the possibility to fill our water bottles with a mix of water and ice before heading out in the hot weather. Our booking had breakfast included. The breakfast room is really small but we had no problem finding a table at around 9am every day Fri-Sun (breakfast times are from 7-10). It's a continental breakfast and you can also get porridge and American pancakes upon request and specialty coffees from a machine. The selection is small but really nice and tasty. I would definitely consider staying here again the next time I visit London.
This hotel is a small hotel with recently upgraded rooms with modern controls and features. The room was an executive double which was tiny so we wondered what the "cosy" rooms were like! Our room (001) was in the lower ground floor (basement) so the views weren't great but it was quiet. The breakfast room was nearby with an adequate offering. The tariff was high but that's London. Being just off London St with lots of good dining options, and a short walk from Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express ensures that nothing is cheap.
Stayed here for one night for business. Rooms are small, I was very lucky and was allocated a twin room, my colleagues only had singles. London was a minimum of 30 degrees, however the air con was excellent. As was the rain shower! My room was spotless and despite the temperature outside I slept really well. There was an ice / water machine and a coffee machine at reception that were complementary- what a fab idea! Breakfast was great, very fresh - continental was ideal given the temperature. Several reviews mention indifferent reception service. I found that to be far from the case. I was warmly greeted at all times. A problem with the room safe was resolved instantly. Check out was very smooth and again extremely friendly. I would not hesitate to return to this lovely hotel.
Good location for Paddington Station. Very modern hotel with a lovely buffet breakfast available. Wifi and TV work well. The room was very small and very expensive but quiet and close to restaurants as well.
Excellent location - 4 min walk to Paddington underground tube station, National rail network and Heathrow express.. Quick access to central London. 13 min walk to Hyde park Staff were friendly, very professional and helpful. Excellent service. Basic breakfast was provided at a small cost. Only critique was that room was small however eco facilities were impressive. Would definitely return to this hotel and area rather than a stay in central London which was extremely crowded.
Perfect location, quiet, room had everything one needs, the space saving features are quite cute. We stayed in room 207 which was big enough for two people. Very clean. All staff welcoming and friendly. Ice and coffee facility in reception area is a nice touch. There is also a kettle in the room.
The hotel itself is nice, very clean, tidy and modern. My only criticism of the room was how small it was for the £288 I paid for the night, this was probably due to the BST being on but I needed a hotel close as my friend couldn't walk far. The air con in the room was a god send with the weather we've been having and the bed is probably the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel. Normally I struggle to sleep in hotels but the bed was so comfortable I slept all night with no issues. I saw on the website when booking that there was parking there, I was suprised to arrive and find only 2 spaces for the hotel, I was very lucky to arrive when I did, not sure where I would have been able to park if those spaces were taken. The guy at reception in the evening was very friendly & helpful as was the lady who checked us in and out.
We stayed here to be close by Hyde park for the B.S.T concerts. It was really convenient and the previous year we stayed on the same road at a different hotel. Nice building but we were in the "eaves" for our "cosy" room as it was described. When we saw there was air con we were pleased in the heatwave however it was still boiling up there!! It seemed to be on but wasn't effective unfortunately. Otherwise welcoming receptionists, clean, and close to Paddington, edgeware rd, and Hyde park. Also recommend the monkey puzzle pub just across the rd from here.
Booked at short notice, as the location suited us. Close to Hyde Park and Paddington. So pleased we did......what a wonderful hotel....super clean, well appointed rooms, friendly staff. We didn't have breakfast but the breakfast room looked inviting and the food looked good!!! If we are in the area, we would most definitely return.
Very small room hotel but clean. Has mostly everything inside the tiny little room . However the air condition is not strong, need to open the small window . Stay only for overnight because we have an early flight to Heathrow . Choose this hotel because it is very close to Paddington Station, only need 15 minutes from paddington to Heathrow Airport . If you are staying for one night, it is okay as the hotel is clean and pretty modern inside of the room .
We traveled with a 2-1/2 year old, and the overall experience was extremely pleasant. Accommodating staff and clean, well-designed rooms were highlights. We typically try staying at smaller lodging venues or Airbnb's, but gave this a try. We were not disappointed.
I had highly recommended to all my friends after my stay there. The hotel is only few minutes walk from Paddington Station. Room is small but has everything there. Clean and new. High ceiling which makes you feel comfortable. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is 10 pounds each and it's optional. There is a little hub area on ground level which you can help yourself with tea, coffee, chocolate (complimentary offered by hotel). You can even buy some snakes back and enjoy the coffee there which I think is great. I will definitely choose to stay in this hotel on my next to London.
..and pretty straight-forward for those who are directionally challanged. Also halfway to the hotel there's a restaurant called Oliver's (great steak) but i said this to say if you stand on the corner starting at 8am you can buy a ticket for the Big Bus (the blue path see their map) and go for a ride and hop on and hop off. we bought a 2 day ticket and a rt boat ride on thames included. Anyway lovely hotel, modern, quaint and clean. Ask the front desk for infomation on sightseeing or bus directions - wear comfy shoes and have a brelly on hand. the rooms are small but posh. we only slept and researched our itinerary so not a problem for us, dont forget to pack light. Oh the television selection a little off for me as an american, but beautiful picture Hd flat screen
This hotel is 5 minutes walk from Paddington Station. There are a number of pubs and places to eat close by. The hotel itself was quiet when we stayed for two nights however we were up early and back late so there were not many people around. The rooms were very clean and tidy and I would stay here again.
The location is good. The hotel is within a walking distance to Hyde Park. The Paddington railway and underground stations are really close, which is convenient for both sightseeing and getting from/to the Heathrow airport. The room was small. However, it was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice. The Wi-Fi was OK. We liked touch control panels around the room. The water flow in the shower was a bit too weak and there was no way to adjust it.
I stayed here on a last minute business booking the week after the Royal Wedding, and during Chelsea Flower Show. Although I only had a twin room, as it was all that was available, it was a nice room, newly refurbished, clean and tidy with lots of fab touch sensitive buttons for the lights. The bathroom was small, but had everything that was needed, and was clean and modern. The hotel serves a continental breakfast, which was good. The staff are friendly and helpful. I can't really fault the hotel, it was great.
This is a super little hotel just by Paddington station. Hyde park very close and lots of great pubs and restaurants. Double room a little cramped as 1 side right against the wall. However don't let this put you off. Shower was good. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast continental, but still able to get fresh eggs to boil as you want. Can also order American pancakes. Very clean and tidy. Definitely come back here as so handy
Pleasant surprise with a high tech in an old building. Renovation maintained the old facade while serving up a high tech room. The room senses when you leave and turns everything off. Built in LED reading light that doesn't keep your partner awake with glare. Built in night stand a plenty of plug ins right where they are needed, even a USB. Good shower. Staff helped get a cab when drivers considered it a short haul to Paddington.
If you are looking for a small, well designed functional room this is a great place. Modern, new construction, very clean. I stayed in a single room with twin bed. In the room you have a twin bed (comfortable), desk, place to hang clothes, a safe, coffee, night stand with storage. The bathroom is small- wonderful rain shower with plenty of warm water. The staff is very helpful. Easy walk from Paddington (5 minutes). Many restaurants nearby. Hyde Park is about 12 minutes walk. Free coffee, water in lobby. Breakfast available- but there are better choices nearby. I would return.
We always try to stay near Paddington on our last night in the UK for a quick trip to Heathrow in the AM. We've stayed at some pretty disappointing hotels in the past. Since I'm a Best Western Rewards member, we decided to stay here this time. We arrived in London earlier than expected. Knowing we could store our luggage at the hotel while we went out and enjoyed the sites, we stopped by to do so. The desk clerks checked their computer and made a quick phone call. They indicated that if we could wait 30 minutes, we would be able to get into our room once housekeeping have cleaned it. This was well before check in. The room was full of modern ammenities including AC, which in many hotels in the area is severely lacking. The bed was large and comfortable. Upon checkout the next day, they stored our luggage again while we took a walk around Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens before our flight time. They tag each piece of luggage individually and store it in a locked space. Other hotels that I have stayed at in the area just throw everything into a large closet that anybody in the hotel has access to. The only negative is the breakfast. They offer a continental breakfast that is in addition to the room rate. In my opinion it was a little pricey when I could have walked down the block and gotten a full-english breakfast at a number of highly rated places for less than half the cost. All in all, I was pleased and would definately stay there again.
When you look at the facade all hotels in Sussex Gardens look the same, but the service, rooms and Delmere as a whole were just amazing! The owners behind this place clearly understand what it means to take care of people.
We got a free upgrade at check-in. The room was adequate in size and thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom was compact, but not cramped. Everything in the room was spotless. There were sufficient towels, which were a good quality. We enjoyed the complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in the guest hub area. The location is just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station. We had no problem with hand luggage, but if you are bringing a lot of luggage, you may want a taxi. The only negative was that the light switch for the bathroom is located in the main room, so the light has to be turned on with the door open, waking up anyone trying to sleep in the bed, which is right next to the bathroom door.
Stayed 1 night in a standard double room. Clean, quiet, cool room. AC (air con) was good as with the recent hot weather was needed, easy to adjust and worked flawlessly. Room was clean and modern, bathroom was also nice and shower was good, kept a constant temperature. Tea and coffee, and 2 direct USB sockets on the wall which was great for charging mobile phone and for any devices you may have. Location is really good as you have easy access to tube station, my room was at the front of the hotel and I got a decent nights sleep. Breakfast was ok, I only had it as with the offer I booked room with. Would I pay extra for it probably not as there are other options within 5 mins walk. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend to anyone.
We decided on this hotel due to the proximity of Paddington station where we were taking the Heathrow express the following day. It's about 3.5 blocks from Paddington, 5 min walking distance. I thought the location was safe, it's in a row of small similar hotels for the whole block. The room is small but modern and comfortable. Very quiet area too. They offer free coffee and tea in their communal area as well as in the room. Our bathroom was very small, with shower (no bathtub) and enough space to open/close the sliding door. Good place to stay for a night or two with proximity to Paddington Station.
Probably one of the better hotels we have stayed in in the last 12 months. My only problem was the size of the room, ok for one night but a little small for any longer. It was relatively easy to find and close to Paddington Station so good London transport links.
My partner booked this so I can't comment on price. Location wise it was very good. Walking distance to shops and bars near Hyde park. Only a short walk from the train station. The room was cosy and suited needs. There were a lot of fan dangle fancy buttons for lights and heating etc. The cleanliness was great. I would stay again but probably not in this room. Only because there was someone walking heavily above our room at early hours and we could hear every step and the heating had a click sound that would click every few seconds. I didn't sleep very well because of that.
Rooms are very clean and modern, the hotel itself is the same - a very pleasant place to stay. Contintental breakfast was fresh and tasty, lots of choice. Have stayed on two occasions and been impressed both times. Very close to Paddington, an excellent choice at a reasonable price
Great value £80 for a single room with breakfast room was small but modern and functional and spotless would recommend Internet worked great staff were good, pubs and restaurant near breakfast was good
Arrived after a long flight. Had a friendly welcome and given directions to room in courtyard. Room 3 was just what we needed with good bed, good shower and nice big telly. Slept solid and had a lovely continental breakfast with boiled eggs etc. Will definitely stay here again as convenient to Paddington station yet quiet.
My Mum & I stayed here for the weekend. The hotel is very clean and so so quiet, no noise at all, in fact it felt like we were the only ones staying in the hotel it was that peaceful. The rooms are clean, modern, lovely quality pillows & bed linen & a nice comfortable bed. The shower was divine & lovely quality toiletries. The room looked fairly newly refurbished & even though it was small was fine for us for the 2 nights we stayed. The only thing I would add is it would have been nice to have had a mirror at the desk area to sit & apply my makeup, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was great but I find it easier to sit to apply my makeup. The mood lighting was good & as the room was very cold with the air conditioning we just went to reception & they changed the setting for our room in an instant. I would highly recommend this hotel & would definitely stay again. The best Best Western Hotel I have ever stayed in
Absolutely loved our stay in the newly refurbished rooms, with attention to detail for a very comfortable stay. The staff is extremely polite and the hotel is very clean. Delicious breakfast and a very welcoming atmosphere. If you are planning to visiting London, BWP - Delmere Hotel is absolutely worth staying at, due to the welcoming staff, well maintained hotel and perfect location, just minutes away from Paddington Station.
This hotel advertises itself on Booking.com as 'with public parking on site'. What there really are, are 2 parking spots on the road outside which are likely to be full. I actually booked this specifically because of the parking and then ended up walking past the hotel i'd normally use from a multi-storey. Hotel wise rooms are modern with shower rooms.
I liked the Delmere Hotel. Its recent refurbishment make the hotel and rooms attractive and a pleasant place to stay close to Paddington (literally, one street away). I liked the comfortable bed and the quality of the bathroom fittings, but like most London hotels the space you get is small. The large TV supports features like the BBC Player, which is nice, and the free Wi-Fi is good too. However, I don't know why the hotel insists on going through a registration process for devices in an era where Wi-Fi is everywhere. The coffee machine in the small meeting area close to reception was broken when we visited, but there is tea/coffee facilities in the room.
We have been dreaming of visiting London and the day has come last year in November. We have stayed in Best Western Plus Delmere Hotel for 5 nights - Nov 1 to 6, 2017 and it's really, really worth the stay. We have selected this hotel because of it's proximity to the station and also from the reviews that I have read. We had given an early check-in by the very accommodating Ms. Yenny Suuto Lopez - General Manager of the hotel. I had written her name on a piece of paper so that I will never forget her name because she was very nice and helpful to us. We just have to wait for few more minutes, while they were preparing the room, in the cozy Lounge area where you can have unlimited coffee and tea while reading magazines and newspapers. We have given a room in the first floor and it was neat and clean, complete with the necessary amenities, it was big enough for both of us and was facing the street which was nice because of we always like a room with a view. The cr is clean with free toiletries and they always change the towels and clean our room every day. They always replenish the tea, sugar, and coffee, but there was no bottled water. When we asked the reception about it, we were told that the water in the cr is potable but still we opted to buy big bottled water outside the nearest store. The hotel has a computer and printer area downstairs which was helpful to us because we are used to doing online check-in of our flight. The hotel is just 5 to 10 minutes walk to Paddington station and was such a big help in maximizing our trip going to beautiful places in London. The rest of the staffs are attentive and helpful. I truly recommend this hotel to everyone. Thank you and God Bless you all! It was such a beautiful stay in the hotel and our first time in London was amazing.
When travelling to London the hotel episode is always a surprising one: sometimes its a soap opera and others a terror movie. But this time it was a very nice suprise and one I am going to keep close for my next trips there. The hotel is very close to Paddington (less than 5 minutes walking) in a nice and open area, not very crowded once you leave the station's street. It is the best hotel in the street, for sure. It has been refurbished quite recently and everything is and seems new and modern and comfy. My room was at ground floor level, in another building inside the main entrance. It was tiny but it had everything I needed and I was looking for: full bathroom, nice bed, big tv, kettle, usb chargers,... The bathroom was a surprise as everything was very well located: Villeroy&Bosch &Grohe brands, fluffy big towels and a shower with two options and easy as to press just one button. Perfect. Attention was great and kind at the main desk. I highly recommend this place.
We were given a room between floors, meaning that aside from taking the lift we had to drag our huge suitcases down a flight of stairs (approx 15 steps), which was quite a pain. Room is tiny but I believe they state the sizes on the booking page. Booked a double bed on Expedia but was given two singles due to some mix up - Recep told us hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do. Despite the mediocre service, tiny rooms and incredibly small lifts, we had a much better time than we did at another establishment we stayed in the last time we were in London. Hot shower, with great water pressure Beautiful bathroom, albeit small - modern design, clean and sleek Automatic lights Control panel right by the bed for easy access Great TV channels with ability to connect speakers to phone via Bluetooth Sufficient amenities (hair dryer, many towels, etc.) Location is great, a couple of bus/metro stops away from everything. Free coffee/tea/water Breakfast is below average (few slices of bread, hard boiled eggs, cereal) - for £9 you can get a REALLY satisfying breakfast at the cafe around the corner. Finally, you pay for what you get so for the amount we paid this was a great deal.
I have now stayed here 4 times over the past few years, and can't speak highly enough of the hotel. The staff have always been attentive and polite. Any questions or needs are handled and answered promptly. The front staff know their local area, and can easily recommend restaurants, activities, transportation needs etc. The rooms are clean, and all appropriately appointed. The bed was comfortable, shower/bathroom easy to use, and very clean! We stayed 2 nights during this visit, and again had the perfect room on the ground floor. The hotel is extremely quiet and Wifi worked with no issue. I know that B/W is a chain of hotels, and sometimes that doesn't work in their favor, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone, as it really has its own vibe even while being part of a bigger network (great for points/rewards though). It is central to everything, especially with Paddington station being right there. But you could also easily walk to Hyde Park, downtown and many other local sites.
We thought this was a real find, within a stone's throw of Paddington Station but tucked away in a quiet street of Georgian houses. Lovely mixture of historic exterior and beautifully modernised interior. Yes, the rooms are small but they are incredibly cleverly designed and user friendly - and spotlessly clean. (Alcove next to my single bed with powerpoints in it - hurrah!) We thought the breakfast was great - just what we wanted. And the staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We'll be back!
Booked a hotel room so i didn't have to get back home late at night after winter wonderland. First time using a hotel, excellent, clean and friendly staff. Only problem was I paid on booking.com and then was asked to pay AGAIN upon arrival, the cost of the room was £134.10 and £268.20 was taken from my account in floating. If i did not have the money available my bank would of given me charges would i would not of been impressed by. That was the only pain as it had me panicking all night and i had to lend money for hyde park from family, would be my only reason for not returning. Loved how modern the rooms looked and was perfect size for me and my boyfriend.
Recently returned from a stay at The Delmere and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is small but the cleanliness, decor and attention to detail outweighs this. We stayed in room 404 which was lovely and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering to store our luggage for us on both days. A continental breakfast is available at £9 but we choose to eat elsewhere. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future. Ideally located for Paddington, Oxford St and Hyde Park. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Stayed at Delmere Paddington in first week of Dec 2017. The hotel is well located with fairly ok facilities but is highly overpriced. Bfast is charged extra whilst majority hotels include bfast in room tariffs. Could get the similar hotel in less than two third price.
Chic hotel in lovely location, 5 minutes walk from tube station. Although the rooms are small they are very modern with excellent fittings. There is a lovely pub 2 minutes walk away towards Hyde park. Across the road from the pub is an Indian restaurant which although is basic has the best Indian food I have had.
Perfect location, modern decor and extremely clean. Really loud banging noises from 1am onwards, a real shame because everything else was perfect. Don't take room 305 the noise kept us awake all night.
Stayed overnight to get to an early flight the next morning by the Heathrow Express and this was PERFECT - other than the shoebox rooms , I cannot fault them - exceptionally clean (I have awful allergies to dust) and despite being the smallest bathroom I've used (other than in trains), it was extremely well planned and the location is perfect to Paddington. The neighbourhood is extremely safe to walk in - both late evening and early morning..
Our November 2017 stay at the Best Western Plus Delmere Hotel in London was a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a great variety of delicious choices. The room was well laid out and very quiet. There was a wide variety of television channels as well. It is conveniently located very close to Paddington Station. We will stay here on our next trip to London. Highly Recommended ??????????
My wife and I stayed just one night at the Best Western Plus Delmere Hotel in London, but we enjoyed our stay very much. I was looking for something close to Paddington Station, and it was only a few blocks away (an easy walk, even with luggage). The hotel is very small and our room was tiny, but we thought it was cute and clever how they fit so much into such a small space. This hotel was just want we needed. We would definitely stay there again.
Nice place to stay. Good location.Great room.Breakfast quality is ok and varity is good. I could reach tourist attraction easily. Paddington station very close. Public transport is great and Hyde Park within walking distance.
The hotel is nice and new since it was just renovated. The rooms were quite modern although on the small side. It is located about 5 minute walk from Paddington station and 10 minute walk to Hyde park.
When I was first contracted to the Paddington area in June, I chose this hotel because of my past experience with the Best Western brand, and its close proximity to Paddington station. I was delighted that I stumbled across this gem of a hotel. In my book, a good hotel hosts of a warm welcome, a clean room, comfy bed and good facilities. The Best Western Delmere exceeds this; - not just a warm welcome, Boglarka (manager) and her team provide a 5* service. As this is a small hotel, there isn't a restaurant (small restaurant for breakfast only), however the team are very quick to recommend restaurants based on your taste from an abundance nearby. Or, if you fancy a takeaway; the team are happy to call you when it arrives to the hotel and provide you with everything you need including cutlery, plates etc. Just a couple examples of their great service. It is also impressive how the staff can maintain complete professionalism while enjoying a good conversation, or 'banter' about worldly affairs or your day in the office. - the rooms are always presented to an extremely high quality of cleanliness, having stayed at the hotel on a weekly basis I can guarantee your room will be clean to a very high standard. I have stayed at many other hotels, including the Hilton nearby and I have never seen such a consistent level of cleanliness elsewhere. - the beds are comfortable, and clearly are high quality - this includes the fluffy pillows and warm duvet. - smaller hotels including the Delmere are my preference as you can build a rapport with the staff and enjoy more of an exclusive feel. The rooms are contemporary and provide you with your own air conditioning controls, light settings (yes you get mood lighting!) and free internet / Wifi facilities. The TVs are new, and provide an abundance of channels and services. The hotel itself has a small restaurant providing continental breakfast, and an open lounge area where you can enjoy a coffee or mingle with other guests. Overall, as I say this hotel is a gem - when first contracted in the area I alternated between different hotels including Hilton hotels. I started to dread when work allocated me to any other hotel than this one, the smallness of the hotel together with the fantastic staff and perfect location have made this hotel a delight to stay in week on week! Thank you best western Delmere and see you next week! Campbell
I've stayed at the hotel at least four times now. It's an excellent location, just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station and close to Hyde Park. The area is busy, but the hotel is on a quiet street and noise has never been an issue. The staff is lovely and extremely helpful. The BW Delmare exceeds all my key hotel requirements - clean, comfortable, good location, and safe.
We stayed here for 2, 3night stays on our trip to London and Cardiff. When our initial flight was cancelled I was able to e-mail the staff to see if we could cancel at no charge and Laurence was able to do so. Hotel is 5 minute walk from Paddington Station and it connects with most underground tube lines and bus stops. Breakfast is continental. Staff is friendly, helpful and goes out of their way to help. Many may think the rooms are small, but really you are in London to see history. Several nice neighborhood restaurants within walking distance.
Really great hotel. I was looking for a Best Western property and have stayed at two others in London. One I wouldn't return to and the other I liked but this one offered better value. The executive double is worth the money - rooms are small but this one offers decent desk space (although there is a work are in the lobby where you can take your computer) AND a mini-fridge. Numerous awesome features include 3 levels of lighting from full on to subdued, and two levels of light in the bathroom, bright and night lighting. There is no bath tub but the shower offers BOTH rainfall stream from the top and a handle spray AND you can operate both at the same time. I found the bed VERY comfortable. The only thing I would have preferred is fitted contour sheets and the bottom sheet kept coming out. The front desk staff are very friendly and I especially appreciate the help of Ms Nemeth (front desk supervisor) who made sure I had a great stay!!! While the Heathrow express goes to the Paddington Train Station about 8-10 minutes away you can take the underground for a FRACTION of the cost - the station is a bit closer the the hotel - under 5 minutes walk, and with an Oyster card it is just 5.10 pounds in peak hours and 3.10 pounds off peak. You just have to transfer once at Earls Court. The street is quite interesting - the length of the street is older homes which have ALL been transformed to hotels. I suspect the Delmere is the nicest of all. a 15 minute walk past the Paddington station takes you to a charming area known as Little Venice and the canal system where people live on barges up and down the canal and a couple of them are even restaurants. Breakfast buffet runs 9 pounds. I had this one day and it was very good but with a fridge AND a tea kettle in the room (with coffee and cocoa packets provided) one can also manage with a light breakfast.
Just back from a few days here, perfect place for me and a teenager. Very clean, nice environment, ideally situated, pleasant staff, would highly recommend (shame they don't do an English breakfast though)
This hotel has a great location by walking distance you can have Paddington as station either by bus, underground, taxi... restaurants are everywhere. A row of building had not only us but other hotels with nice flowers and plants. The room is pretty small, but they utilise the space smartly. All switches are touch form. They have underground coffee shop where they serve buffet at £9 per person with continental style.
5 minute walk to Paddington Station. Lots of restaurants in the area. The check in process was fast and friendly and I was able to check in even though I was a little early. I was assigned a basement room which was fine with me, but the bathroom smelled musty. I thought it was dampness at first, but am now thinking it could have been a dead rodent in the vents (it smelled like cat urine). Also, breakfast is not included in the room rate and is £9. You can get breakfast for half that at a restaurant in the neighbourhood.
I stayed here for 2 nights on a work trip. The hotel front of house staff were very helpful and welcoming. I had booked a single room, but was upgraded to a double (very lucky!) on the ground floor. The room was very clean, very quiet ( I couldn't hear my neighbours throughout my stay), but a little on the small side. The room has all amenities (tea/coffee, kettle, TV, safe), but if there are 2 people sharing it would get a little cramped. The bathroom was spotless and plenty of towels. However, again the bathroom was cramped. The AC worked well and the mod-cons of touch screen for the mood lighting was great. The hotel is situated just around the corner from Paddington train station. I didn't have breakfast in my booking (£9 per person per day for continental), so went to the numerous cafes on the adjacent street. Great stay!!
Me and my partner both stayed at the Delmere in midweek, hotel was busy. We stayed in room 003 on the lower ground floor we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and fittings, rooms look to have been recently refurbished to a very high standard with almost everything a traveller would want, the only slight constructive feedback we would have would have been really nice to have a bottle of complimentary water, apart from that a definite 5 out of 5, we had a really early start so we did not have breakfast, look forward to staying here again.
Great location, quiet but my single room was super super small. I have rated it highly though as the staff were great and everything was new and spotlessly clean. Nice bed and super bath room. Good price too.
We live around the corner and were without water for 24hours so booked this hotel last minute. Living in paddington there are MANY small B&B's / boutique hotels to choose from, however selected this property as it had been recently refurbished and advertised AC in every room. Our Comfort Double room was compact but perfectly formed and was very clean. Our problem - the AC did not work at all, I followed up with reception twice during our 24 hour stay and was told to "be patient". I was later informed that the AC hadn't worked on level 4 for about a week and was being looked into. I didn't appreciate dishonest staff not owning up to the problem in the first place.
Disappointed with service at this hotel, 2 very unhelpful members of staff at reception who made us very uncomfortable within the first 5 minutes of arriving. Room was lovely but pillows were very uncomfortable.
This hotel has been completely renovated. The rooms have excellent lighting, which can be made dim or bright, and now are air conditioned. Nearness to Paddington Railway Station and the Heathrow Express is a real plus.
This property has been beautifully refurbished but it really has no business calling itself a hotel. There is no restaurant, let alone room service, and no hot breakfast available. It's a B&B with particularly nice rooms. They did say guests can order food in for delivery. The bathroom was spotless with a small shower - lovely fluffy towels too. The bed was very comfortable and in general the room was a good size for the price paid. Generally hotels around Sussex Gardens are dreadful for their tiny rooms! This was better than many. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, porridge, fruit salad, pastries, boiled eggs, and juice. They will apparently cook you pancakes to order, but nothing else - no bacon, sausage, beans, scrambled eggs etc. The wifi was a decent speed although you had to request an individual login code for each device you plan on using.
Lovely setting for a Londion hotel being off the main roads but still very close to Paddington and a short cab ride from the West End. Recently renovated, the hotel is clean with great lighting and air con systems in the bedrooms as well as a pretty funky shower set up. Next to reception is the "hub" which is a great little area where I was able to catch up on e mails whilst enjoying a free cuppa. Staff were great, checking in and out was easy and I'd happily recommend the Delmere as a decent place to stay for a night or two .
Even though I selected this hotel based on past reviews, the hotel was even better than I anticipated. I am happy that I selected this hotel for our one-night stay in London. We were conveniently located to shops and restaurants near the Paddington Station. The location was just a few blocks from where you catch the hop-on, hop-off buses and that made it perfect for what we planned to do that day. The staff was very helpful and the decor in the hotel and rooms was updated and modern. The hotel was very quiet and I highly recommended it for those visiting this area of London.
I wouldn't hesitate to book here again when next in London, great, renovated hotel! Perfect for business or leisure travel. Pros: Location, location, location (5 min. walk to Paddington station) Room design, with latest technology features Room size Firm bed and softer pillows Small fridge Tea/coffee making equipment Free coffee in lounge Bathroom design and fixtures Quiet location and room on fourth floor (kept my window open at night) Adjustable room temperature (amazing feature!) Breakfast/lounge areas Staff--were absolutely amazing WiFi Many restaurants closeby of all price ranges and quality TV size (Smart TV) and channel offerings Cons: Minor detail--bring an eye mask if you're sensitive to any light in your room because new technology features have various lights illuminated when dark
Check-in and out was made very easy, and reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was small (but typical in London), clean and modern, and the bed was comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities were in the room, although I would have preferred just some cold bottled water, although this is just personal preference. Nothing really to mark the hotel down on except one point, our room had a window on a slopping ceiling, and in the morning the curtains did not stop the sun from shinning in my face, the hotel could improve this by replacing the curtains with blinds fitted to the window, eliminating the gapping between the curtain (which falls vertical downwards) and window (on angle) Only a very short walk from Paddington Main station & tube, highly convenient for trips around the London area.
Beatifully renovated into a Victorian (?) town house, or two connected together. So, not originally a hotel, but very functional as such, still carrying some that English charm. Rooms are really small, but cleverly packed to contain all that a hotel room must have. Location is very good with a short walk from Paddington station, choice of restaurants and pubs on the way from there. Very convenient to have your exhausting day of sightseeing, then coming back 'home' through Paddington, enjoying your dinner and then perhaps a beer in a pub with couple of TV's on and packed with an enthusaistic football audience.. Staff was very attentive to our needs. Also, they notified my of some forgotten property and swiftly sent it over to me to my home address.
Very welcoming and professional hotel! Clean rooms with all new technology (lights on when you enter the room). Our bathroom was small but clean and the bed slept great! Only point of criticism was that no window could be opened. But the room has airco so never too hot. Breakfast was simple but fresh and really good! The hotelstaff was kind and helpfull. Hotel is in a great neighbourhood with pubs and eveningshops and Paddington station at a small distance. Also near the centre of the city (Oxford street is a 10 minute walk) and at the foot of Hyde Park. All in all we had a great stay at this hotel!
Great experience. Completely renovated. Great equipments. All you need. Great enployees who go out of their way to give you special service ( recommandations of where to go, opening the restaurant before the opening hours so you can leave with something good in your stomach). However I heard the neighbors alarm at 5am for at least 10' ... the sound isolation is no good between the rooms on the 4th floor.
The rooms are small but big enough for a citytrip when you don't bring your whole wardrobe with you. The rooms are modern and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. The Hotel is close to hyde park and close to public transportation. Paddington station is just a 5 minutes walk away. Even so is Hydepark. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. Continental breakfast was nice and fresh. And there are a view nice restaurants in walking distance
Magnificent location so close to everything with the most friendly and helpful staff Hotel room small but well equipped the only downside was the bed had soft edges that reduced the usable area ou could sleep on
the hotel is cute and a decent place. good points are Location near Paddington Tube, the nice and friendly staff, and the well decorated rooms. a bad points are the mattress, the extremely small rooms and of course the price which is probably London standard but quite crazy.
Booked a double room, but was given a single room. The staff said it was a know fault on the Expedia website but did nothing to resolve or fix the problem. I was not offered the correct room or any compensation, the staff just ignored the issue.
I spent 3 nights with my wife in December. Not only is the neighbourhood really nice, but it's really close to Paddington station which is one of the main hubs (the direct train from Heathrow airport arrives here), you can basically go anywhere from here. Hotel is really nice, although rooms are quite small, but comfortable and clean. I would totally recommend it.
Best Western The Delmere is conveniently located about two blocks and 6-8 minutes walk to/from Paddington Station, and between 3-10 minutes to/from the nearest bus stops. While the immediate vicinity of Paddington Station is very busy and crowded, the street where the hotel is located (Sussex Gardens) is quiet and peaceful. There are many restaurants lining the streets leading to Sussex Gardens, in addition to the multitude of restaurants, food stands, convenience stores and groceries at Paddington Station itself. I stayed for 5 nights in a cosy single room. It was very quiet and immaculately clean. The bed linens, towels, and walls were spotless. Basic amenities were provided except for a mini ref. It had a wide window with blackout drapes. The bathroom was very clean, with a great shower. The control panel for lighting, maid service, and airconditioning was state of the art. Wifi was fast. Areas outside the room were clean, including the reception. Check in and check out was quick and the reception staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant. It also had a lift, albeit small, and a proper luggage storage area. Hotel rates were quite reasonable (for London). I knew beforehand that the cosy single room was small, but I did not think it was going to be THAT small. It was difficult to move inside the room without hitting the walls. My medium-size suitcase had to stay closed all the time; otherwise, I would have no place to walk around. My suitcase also doubled as closet as there were no storage spaces at all, save for a few hangers against the wall. But the space limitation was not my main complaint. It was the uncomfortable bed. I am not a fan of soft mattresses and mine was exactly that. I would have considered this hotel truly value for money considering that it is very safe, conveniently-located, clean, quiet, and affordable, but an uncomfortable bed is usually a deal breaker for me. I realize of course that there are people who prefer soft mattresses, but I am not one of those.
There are dozens of hotels to choose from in the Paddington area, most look alike from the outside but vary greatly inside. The Delmere underwent a renovation recently and it was a complete success. The Hotel is Chic and the staff kind and extremely professional, I will return.
I have stayed at this hotel before and was happy as it is walkable from Paddington Station. However - on this occasion I given a VERY small room even though I had booked a king suite. The biggest issue was that there was no cell phone service - zero bars. I spoke with front desk staff and they were completely non helpful and non caring. There was also a problem with the bill which they "resolved" by charging my credit card and sending an accusatory email. Highly recommend you skip this hotel.
Positives. extremely friendly and helpful reception and breakfast staff. No problem with check in we arrived early but our room was available so we were able to put leave our case and get on with our business for the day. Checkout just as helpful, able to leave case in hotel until midnight . this is extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast, lots of choice and a very clean and pleasant breakfast room. Hotel is clean and the complimentary tea and coffee in the hub is a nice gesture. Negative, We had what was called a cosy double. Read this as very small. I am under 5ft and not of a large statue but, I had to step into the shower to open the toilet door. If you are of a more larger frame I fear that you would need to be houdini to circumvent this problem. I would recommend this hotel but if you are of a larger stature I would advise an upgrade to a larger sized room
Biggest worry when coming to London, choosing the right hotel for us! I'm glad to say that we scored with Delmere Hotel! If going to London, logistically this hotel is a great option being in Paddington, especially with the station that accessible to Heathrow airport.
Janos, Luka, Mikael, and the rest of the hotel staff were professional, courteous, and helpful. I had called in advance of my arrival to notify the hotel that I would be arriving in the late evening, and the front desk employee assured me there would be no problems checking in. Janos helped us to check in when we arrived and helped bring our luggage to the room. On the day we departed, we left our luggage with Luka and Mikael after we had checked out so we could do a little sightseeing. Thank you. I look forward to our next visit to London.
We stayed here over the weekend and were very impressed. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, quiet and in immaculate condition. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We will always use this hotel when visiting London from now on.
I stayed here while on a business trip due to the hotel's proximity to Paddington. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, so if that is all you need, go for it. However, for business travel, I was disappointed to discover that the Internet is set up in such that if you're not actively using your phone, it will disconnect and you will not receive messages. Furthermore, the signal was intermittent, meaning that connecting to a VPN (to access work files) was impossible. So if you're traveling for pleasure and you're not planning to use the Internet much, this place will probably fit all your needs. But do beware that the "cosy" single rooms are very small, so if you have anything more than a carry-on, you will not have much room to open it.
I changed about three hotels through out my trip around London, Brighton, and Oxford and this was the best by far. It is conveniently located about a 3-5 min walk from the Paddington station. The hotel staff are super friendly and are always ready to assist you. The room itself is very clean, I had a bad experience with a previous hotel in London where the towels smelled like they sat on the shelf for weeks and had what seemed like a light layer of dust on it but this hotel the towels actually looked and smelled freshly washed. Everything in the room is touchscreen, lights are adjustable with light medium high lighting, bathrooms have the "selfie lighting" for make up purposes (which is a big big plus for me), and there's a safe, TV, and fridge. The bed was comfy and they give you an extra pillow just in case you need it. The reason I took one star off was because the wifi connection was horrible. It cuts off every 2 mins and you would have to reconnect, it could be because I lived on the bottom floor, but I could barely search anything or just use my phone in general without constantly having to wait for the "wifi pop up" page to connect back to wifi. But other than that my overall experience was great!
Booked Cosy Double for Sat & Sun. Arrived at 10am and was met with friendly reception staff who check us in and informed us that luggage will be in our room when we returned later. Offered us wake up call & complimentary newspaper for morning. Complimentary coffee in lobby area. We were offered WiFi codes for each device, as code can only be used for one. What I liked was that the check in was done within a few minutes without reception staff typing away at computer for ages, ignoring you, while they talk to colleagues. Impressed with professional service. Hotel refurbishment very well done and everything appeared very clean, from reception to bathrooms. On our return we were issued with key cards quickly. Found luggage in our room when we returned. Was concerned that the cosy room would be too small, but it was a good size; en suite small but comfortable. Shower big enough to be comfortable for a 6ft man. Although there is no space for a bedside table on one side, the alcove in wall was useful and I don't see the need for a bedside table. Hairdryer provided in a bag was the best I've ever used. I even took the details, to try and find the same for myself. Not the built in one you would normally find in a hotel bathroom. So no need to take your own. Was concerned about rain shower if I did not want to get my hair wet, but shower cap provided. Bed was comfortable and I loved the fluffy soft but good support pillows. Good night sleep with no noise problems from other guests, coming and going, or noise from other rooms, either we were really lucky or the the soundproofing was really good. Yes, you can find cheaper accommodation in area but I'm happy with what I got for my money and would definitely book this hotel for future trips to London. (Last year I paid £50 less for the same size room in another hotel which was half the quality of this one and not as good location). So well worth the money I paid. Would recommend if you want a comfortable stay in a clean hotel.
I have spent just one night at this BW but it was as it should be. Quick check in and check out, quiet, wi-fi working well. My single room was tiny but bed very comfy! The best is location, 5 min walking from Paddington station, there is a lot of nice bars around and Oxford street is just 10 min walk.
Excellent Hotel, very clean and pleasant staff. Recently redone. Small hotel with recently refurbished rooms. and close to transportation. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. The room was larger than most hotels in England. Walking distance to Hyde Park, Underground/subway and Express train to Heathrow. I stayed on business and would use when I visit London for pleasure
I stayed here and loved the professionalism and friendly attitude of front desk staff. Specially Simonetta and Silvia. The hotel is super clean and close to Hyde Park and Paddington train station. Due to location and fantastic staff I rebooked and stayed a separate night after coming back from Devon.
For those intending to leave by train or have just arrived by train at Paddington, this is an excellent small and very clean hotel. Offering Bed and Continental Breakfast, it provides small bedrooms with all that one requires in as small a room as possible!
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, and I will be back again. It is an easy walk from Marylebone train station, just round the corner from Paddington tube. Staff are friendly and helpful, handled check in and out very efficiently.
I have stayed there a couple of days, really good hotel! Great room, modern decoration, modern bathroom with rain shower! It was a great sensation to take a rain shower after a busy day travelling! Great friendly staff, always ready to help and give good city tips! A really small walking distance from the Paddington metro station and located on a quiet street! I highly recommend!
We stayed for a couple of nights while in London and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are small by American standards, but is very well appointed. The elevator is delightfully tiny! The hotel is a part of a large row of several small hotels that are attached. The area itself is very touristy and international. The hotel is conveniently located between the Paddington Station and Hyde Park. Aside from Paddington, there are a couple of other Underground stations within walking distance. Would recommend.
From the time we entered the hotel we were impressed by the helpfulness of staff. We were able to get into our room early, a room which was small but clean and adequate for our needs. On checkout we experienced the same degree of courtesy and would certainly stay here again.
I stayed for one night at the Delmere. It was a single bedroom. Small, but clean. Very modern looking. The price was okay. The bed was comfortable. It's a good place, should you be traveling to London by yourself. But personally, I left an item in the room, and they did little to help me retrieve it. I left a sweater on the chair. I called and asked about it and was willing to come pick it up, but I was simply told it wasn't there and that I should call back the following day to ask the housekeeping services. It's not a question -- I know exactly where I left it. If they don't know where it is, it was either taken or discarded. I also understand that leaving an item was my mistake, but from a customer service perspective, I had made it rather clear that I was leaving London that day and that calling back the next day would be useless to me. It shouldn't be my job to call back the next day. Good customer service means when they locate the item, they let me know they've found it. I suppose I'll have to go sweater shopping now.
I stayed in a "standard single" for 8 nights, small by US standards but not by European. Don't know if I could have handled a "cosy single" that long. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet enough on the ground floor. Bathroom was tight but adequate. I had breakfast just once, perfectly good continental buffet but there are better values a block away on London St. Friendly and helpful desk and breakfast-room staff, and I liked the coffee next to the lobby. Only drawback was internet access -- weak and irregular wifi signal, plus a house computer downstairs that wouldn't go to common sites like Hotmail or British Airways because of "problems with security certificate." When I complained about being unable to print a boarding pass, they comped my one breakfast and said they'd let the manager know. Very well located a few minutes from Paddington, and a few minutes the other way from Lancaster Gate tube. Lots of OK food options and convenience shopping nearby.
Chose this hotel on the basis I trust Bestwestern. Hotel has recently been refurbished as all rooms, if slightly small, were well appointed, clean and modern. Cant' fault the place and the staff were very good too. Its a 5 min walk to Paddington Station which is also very helpful. My only small criticism would be the size of the bed...it was a double but I really missed my king size!
Wanted a hotel close to everywhere at a reasonable price and this was perfect. The hotel itself is presented lovely and our room was perfectly laid out and modern with a brilliant bathroom. highly recommended!
Worst hotel I have stayed in and I travel all the time for a living. Terrible bed, room so small. Bathroom so small you can actually touch both walls at the same time. Management is terrible too. Elevator broke down on more than 1 occasion. The "Bar" advertised is actually just 2 stools at the front desk.Room service failed to make the room one day.
Helpful staff. Allowed early check in and looked after bags after check out. Comfortable, clean and attractive room. Nice ambience throughout hotel. Good shower. Close to Paddington station and Hyde Park.
Superb accommodation, double room is compact but has everything you need. Showers are awesome!!! So clean and tidy, staff are polite and helpful. Has simple touches that make a difference (USB ports at the sockets, dimmable lights). So quiet for it being a central location. I would definitely come back.
Beautifully decorated rooms, albeit a bit small. Some have limited storage space. Excellent location, close to all forms of transport. Close to a wide variety of eating establishments. But bring your own facecloth/flannel as they are inexplicably not provided!
There's really nothing not to like about this hotel. The check-in was swift and fast despite me arriving early. My room was already ready, and I got a street-facing room. I loved the high-tech and eco-friendly electronic switches. Couldn't stop playing with them for a while hahah! Front of house staff are so friendly and polite and they just put me at ease right away, I also spoke with the lady housekeeper, friendly lady! The bed was so comfortable and extra pillows of various sizes kept me tucked in for a good rest. Free coffee, tea, cappucino and ice in the lobby lounge where you can help yourself. Breakfast at LG, did not have that as I prefer to have breakfast like the locals do. A perfect end to my first UK holiday.. Will definitely be back again, to this particular hotel.
This is a decent hotel and close to many restaurants and subway. Unless you like to stay in a closet avoid the "cosy" single room. If you want to open your suitcase you'll have to take up your small single bed. There is no other place because the room is so small. The staff was excellent and quite polite. I'm not complaining but if I had another chance I'd book a larger room.
I felt this was a nice clean and modern hotel in a good location near to paddington, which can be a bit hit or miss in my experience. It was overpriced in my opinion and just a few inexpensive additions would have made a massive difference. The breakfast was very poor with croissants in cellophane, only sliced bread, very little choice and average coffee. It's clear from the size of the dining room that breakfast isn't a big deal as there's only 10 tables. But judging from the styling it's got aspirations of a stylish/boutique hotel yet the breakfast is poor. If you have £9 in your pocket you'd get a better breakfast for less money at Pret in Paddington station. A fresh loaf, some fresh pastries...it's not much to ask for £9?? In the rooms a small bottle of complimentary water would be a nice touch as my room was very warm through the night. Nice shower, comfy bed, quiet rooms and modern tv so no complaints about the bedroom.
Quick London trip so I wanted to get in and out as easily as possible (5 minute walk from Paddington/Heathrow Express). It is affiliated with Best Western but it is really the boutique Delmere Hotel, in the middle of a bizarre row of 20-30 identical small hotels. As my partner ended up staying with me, I switched to a King Room. The bedroom size was fine for what it is, but the bathroom was a horrible tiny closet. I honestly would have happily given up space in the bedroom for enough space in the bathroom to let's say, dry off after a shower. At the least they could put in a small shelf for toiletries or more than one hook for the towels. The BW touches seemed to be the technology - touch lighting/climate control and smart tv, but the A/C did not work too well. No complaints about the staff, they were very pleasant and efficient. We cut our stay short as we honestly did not like the Paddington neighborhood at all. Plus cleaning left a surprise for us - a full garbage bag lying on our bed (we had a good laugh at that one). I have stayed at Best Western in comparably large and expensive cities like Tokyo and Sydney, and this just wasn't a Best Western.
We booked this hotel on hotels.com which led us to believe there was parking. There is no real parking but there is an NCP carpark not far away. Not really a problem but be aware. This is a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The girl on reception was outstanding and went beyond to help me with my numerous bags while my husband parked the car. Breakfast is extra but worth it as it is very nice. The room is very comfortable with all mod cons and the A/C worked well and with little noise. The bathrooms are tiny however and difficult to dry and dress in so may prove difficult for friends travelling together but ok for couples. We had the business centre outside our room and the phone rang at 4am which disturbed us. A little annoying. Other than that we were very happy with our stay and will be back. It is in a great area close to Hyde park.
So clean, remodeled in 2015, kind of tiny, but totally functional. Right around from Heathrow Express and Paddington Underground Station. Also a fifteen minute walk from Oxford Street Shopping. Bed was comfy.
We had been invited to an event so thought we would have a long weekend in London. As we would travel by train to Paddington I looked at the Best Western hotels and chose the Delmere in Sussex Gardens within walking distance of the station. We arrived mid morning on a Saturday at the hotel where we were welcomed by very helpful staff. The hotel had recently been refitted and was ideal for our visit with easy access to the tube, bus and taxis.
I've previously written a poor review this hotel due to a few issues I have previously had. I am now happy to say the hotel has rectified the issues I previously had and is now one of my favourite hotels in London. Rooms are to a high standard and include smart features like USB charger sockets, air con and lighting controls. I'd stay here every week if I could, but the price fluctuates quite a lot and is sometimes fully booked. Please note, if you book on a company credit card, you have to go through a separate validation check, which involves getting paperwork signed by the credit card owner.
The largest room they offer had a single 50cm window, part of a quite small room. I expected a lot more for the price of £240. The room was rich in technology, very clean, and the staff is very friendly. It is located a couple of streets from the Paddington station making it an ideal connection to Heathrow.
Nice location: central london and near main train station / underground station. I would say it is 20-25 min from London Heathrow airport. Unfortunately, the room are really small regarding the price paid. I felt like being in a sardine can: when i open my luggage i cannot open the door anymore. Good point: there is not so much noise and so we can sleep well after a long journey. Staff is very friendly.
This is close to Paddington station in a quiet and leafy location. A great deal of thought has gone into the layout with space saving features and with a focus on environmental sustainability. GOOD Very friendly staff will try their hardest to help. Ultra clean Excellent price for central London (UNDER NINETY) Everything in room is controlled from central control panel on wall by bed. Air con works Free WiFi works Comfortable bed Very quiet with perfect nights sleep. Auto LED lights with excellent lit mirrors etc. COULD DO BETTER Breakfast is good if you like cold cuts and fruit but for nine pounds that is expensive. There is a Garfunkel's a short walk away that does eggs Florentine with coffee and juice for the same price. The swanky control centre in the room has an illuminated display with 9 lit symbols. There are two of these plus illuminations on the TV which add up to a lot of light pollution when trying to sleep. The room is small (see pic) but just adequate to sleep in. You would not want to spend a week here. You get what you pay for! I will come back.
I had a quick overnight stay in London and wanted to enjoy the City but, be an easy train ride to Heathrow airport. The Delmere suited this criteria well. The hotel is a few blocks from Paddington station & the Heathrow Express train. The room was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Perhaps my only complaint was that the room was very small.
First of all, when I have rated this with five stars it's not to indicate this is a five star hotell, but it is an excellent budget hotel in terms of service, location and quality of rooms. I stayed one night in connection with a fotball match. Arriving on an early morning flight on a Sunday, I didn't expect the room to be ready, but the friendly and service minded hotel staff was very helpful and managed to get me a room pretty quickly. They also gave me the option to wait for a bigger room, which I declined since my priority was to dump my bag and get ready for the match. The room was small, as staff had warned me. But it was big enough to stay the night, and functional with a bathroom, desk and nice and comfy bed. The room was recently refurbished and pretty nice I must say. Wifi worked flawlessly, allthough maybe not fast enough for streaming videos. The location just a short walk away from Paddington makes it ideal if you have an early morning flight out of Heathrow.
I come to London every couple of months and find staying close Paddington Station very practical. It's where the Heathrow Express arrives and the Central London is quite close (Hyde Park is just 5-7 minutes away). Having stayed at a few hotels in the area, I can definitely say the Delmere is great choice! Here's why: 1. Location - Sussex Gardens is the street filled with hotels and Delmere is one of them. So location is a plus. You can get more central, but would probably have to pay more. 2. Room The room is not particularly large, but the layout is excellent (mine was 405). Everything is new, the design is fresh and low-key, sensor controls for almost everything (incl. shower) add a touch of modernity. 3. Service I asked for a quiet room and the receptionist responded by giving be a room on a top floor facing the backyard. It's a plus given the fact the Sussex Gardens can be noisy with trafffic. 4. Inside the room Everything I needed was here including a kettle with tea and a couple of cookies. 5. Price. The price was quite adequate (ca 100 pounds). Even if some hotels around are 10-15 pounds cheaper, I'd choose this one - it feels very new and comfy.
This hotel does not follow Best Western rewards or Elite benefits , I am a diamond/ platinum member but they do not upgrade according to the program. The bed in our room is so bad we can not sleep it without waking up in pain.elevator not working 3 floors can be a long hike . We will not stay here again.... Ever, Do yourself a favour and find another spot there are a lot of other options in this block.
The BW Plus Delmere Hotel is a great place to stay in London. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The staff are helpful and professional. The hotel is well located being close to transport hubs and a good choice of restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Stayed in a "cozy" single for two nights, selecting the place for the proximity of Paddington station. The room was very clean and functional, but the room I was assigned was tiny and I kept hitting the wall (and getting scratches) when moving inside the room avoiding my big suitcase on the floor. It seemed that it was only mine which had small size on the same floor, so if I was in a different room, the impression may have been very different. The breakfast was unfortunately not impressive.
Fantastic little room. All mod cons. Brilliant location near station and Hyde park. Very comfortable bed Perfect for our concert overnighter. Didn't have breakfast but was offered at reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and will definitely stay again!
We stayed 11th-14th July. The staff were really lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. Offered help with attractions and maps. The room had everything we wished for including a lush shower. Had a wedding proposal on the first night (very exciting) and the staff left a card and chocolates for us in the room which was a lovely touch. We paid for breakfast but didn't take it as there were may eateries close by. We would certainly return to this hotel and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you for a great stay.
This hotel checks out all of the boxes! No reason why I wouldn't stay there again! Everything from the check-in to check-out was pleasant and easy. It's just steps away from the Heathrow express and super close to bus and metro stops. Restaurants are plenty on the street perpendicular to the hotel. - Great location - Attentive staff - Clean - Good value!
This hotel is in perfect location a few minute from Paddington station. In viktorian styled house. So rooms is small but clean. For small stay is suffice. Queen bed is smaller. Breakfast is poorer than other hotels in London but too sufficient.
I booked this hotel last minute, and I needed a place close Paddington Station, to take the Heathrow Express back to the airport early the next morning. Plus, you can get anywhere in London from Paddington. Room was small by US standards, but i was traveling solo, so not a problem. I can imagine if you have a lot of luggage, it might be a problem, as the elevator is tiny. Linens were fresh and clean, bathroom and shower were great and complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate and shortbread cookies were provided daily. Front desk people were helpful and really no complaints at all. I did not have a chance to try the hotel breakfast or bar. I definitely would stay here again!
We chose this hotel due to the proximity to Hyde Park, only a 10 minute walk. Also 10 minute walk to Oxford Street and 5minutes from Paddington underground. Rooms are on the small side but not a problem as they are very comfortable with climate control touch lighting, safe, hairdryer, shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower. Continental breakfast was excellent also during the day there were free tea and coffee in the pod. In the surrounding area there are plenty of cafes and restaurants. I would definately choose to stay here again.
I stayed one night in this hotel. It's a quick walk from paddington to this long row of hotel options The delemere is just one of many small hotels in this street. It's convenient to Hyde park and Oxford street (all within a 1 km walk). staff were very helpful. The rooms are minute (as in very very small) and you can hear everything from the surrounding rooms so bring earplugs. The price seemed high for the setting and size. Good breakfast options around the corner for less than the charge of the small offerings at the delemere.
Staff, fantastic, nothing is too much bother for them. Location, fantastic 5 mins walk from Paddington train station ( and the underground railway) and 10 mins walk to Hyde Park. Fit and finish of the rooms amazing, all touch operated including climate control and at least 3 modes of lighting. Big smart TV with Iplayer and Youtube as well as the digital channels. Hair dryer, the biggest shower head I've seen in a while, good sound insulation, you'd think there was no one else in the hotel (there were) and clean. Reasonable rates. We didn't use the breakfast facilities as you can choose your cafe, restaurant, or brasserie from a long list, 2 mins away. The only two slight negatives are that the rooms are a bit small, compact as they call it and because of that I kept walking into a metal bracket by the bathroom, it's there to hold the hair dryer I presume. BUT, I didn't go to London to sit in a room, after three hectic days of fun, we came back each night to a comfy quiet air conditioned room and slept like logs. Check out the room size on booking if you like but use this hotel.
Stayed for a couple of days, we were visiting London for a concert in Hyde Park. Its been refurbished to a high standard, we had a king room, which was of a good size and although at the back of the hotel and only had a small window, the room was quiet. Its ideally situated to tube/railway stations. There is no restaurant facilities or plush spa's etc, there are some lovely restaurants and pubs close by (try the Victoria a Fullers pub around the corner-full of character and good beer and food), this hotel is a excellent place to stay, close to Paddington and a short stroll to Hyde Park, we will definitely stay at the Delmere again, really pleased we found this hotel.
This tiny hotel is beautifully fitted out with modern and effective fittings. The control panels in the room were exceptionally user friendly - I especially liked the 2 buttons in the shower with pictures of a shower from the ceiling and a shower from the hand held spray. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good value at £9. Ok, the coffee was out of a machine but for £9 you don't mind that. It is only a couple of minutes from the station. It is tiny and some of the rooms are off a tiny courtyard, which might be less good in bad weather. For a bed, shower and continental breakfast in a central location this would be hard to beat.
We stayed here as we were in London for the Saturday. Could not fault the hotel at all. Upon arrival we were told that we'd been upgraded and were also given a voucher for a free drink each! What a welcome! The room we had was on the lower ground floor, accessible by either lift or stairs. It was a good size. The bathroom was quite small and bijou! My husband is not a small man and he found it a little too small for his liking, it was fine for me though! The bed was really comfortable and we both slept really well. Breakfast was of the continental variety, no cooked breakfast, apart from eggs that were either pre boiled or you could boil your own. If you're coming to London and need a bed for the night this place ticks all the boxes. It's just round the corner from either Lancaster Gate or Paddington stations. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
In good location near Paddington station, tubes, shops, restaurants and easy walk to oxford st Very clean and near. Updated modern facilities especially bathroom. Had a single room, Only issue is that it was very small, particularly bathroom. But still had everything you need. Helpful friendly staff
Recently refurbished hotel, well priced and well located near Paddington station. I stayed in a Comfort Double which is the smaller one. The room was very small, but everything you need is there and thoughtfully laid out. Mood lighting, internet, aircon, safe, shower all up to date tech-wise and great. Bedside drawer too shallow and a waste of space though and one drawer in my room wouldn't close fully. Hotel lift is terrible. Takes an age to get to the top floor (used the stairs for going down) and actually broke on the day I checked out so had to use a staff member to lug 40kg of luggage down 8 flights of stairs. Sort the lift out, otherwise perfect.
This hotel is close to Paddington station and convenient for a stop over. It's clean, modern and ideal base. I would recommend this hotel if you just want somewhere of a standard, to put your head down after a busy day/night in London.
Locations convenient to Paddington Layout is pretty funky; one room was up stairs located on the stair landing, only room there and we were in lower level. Bed was comfortable enough but bathroom smelled BAD..as in... Thames had backed up in shower BAD. AC controls on either side of bed; one side was inop. Called frt desk in morning to connect w rest of family to make sure they were up and took 3 tries to get receptionist to understand the simple request. Amazing to have service reps that aren't fluent in English.
We had an amazing experience with the BW Hotel Delmere. Good location and reasonable price was what we wanted - what we got was a modern, clean room with free wifi and amazing personalized service, from making the reservation (thanks for the personal note, Laura) to check in and check out, staff were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Big thanks and we'll be back!
A lovely little hotel in the Sussex Garden area. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was exactly what I needed, clean, comfy and warm. Bathroom facilities excellent, a shower that actually wets you through. Great location. Highly recommend.
I stayed 16JUN16 only 1 night. Because difficult to go my room. My knee was bad condition,so l requested to change my room, although not full, they didn't.Later I checked this hotels available room... And I slipped and fell from the stairs. But inside room, everything was comfortable.
We booked one night as we were going to a concert at Wembley. We got off the train at Paddington and the hotel is 5 mins walk away, perfect. We were greeted by very pleasant and helpful staff in a modern reception area and when we checked into our room we found it to be equally as modern, nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. The shower was superb and the size of room fine. Nothing negative to say about this hotel, I'd book it again.
This hotel is good, clean in a convenient location. The problem was that we had booked two rooms for a business trip of 1 night through hotels.com with a business card. The staff that were checking in didn't have this card as they had not booked it and the receptionists said they couldn't check them in without alternative payment even though they had already pre-authorised the card (meaning they hold the money until check out as a deposit then release it 3 days later, standard hotel practice). They made out staff feel like criminals by suggesting they could have stolen a company card and booked the rooms...! Then asked for the full amount in cash?! They then asked us to email them a front and back photo of the company card which is totally unsecure and im pretty sure illegal - especially as they had already charged it!!! Overall the actual hotel was fine but this clear lack of training on pre-authorisation and card charging as well as business conduct means we wont be booking again.
I stayed here for three nights while on a business seminar! It was a great little find and the staff were very helpful and friendly! They also recommended a great Italian restaurant just around the Corner. Two thumbs up! Would definitely stay again
Conditions of room in basement is bad....insects and water noise inside the room...currently am staying....pls change my rooms....it is a request... i have been requesting for the same for last 3 days but in vain. The receptionist on saturday promised to change the room on monday...when we showed him insects....no one in this hotel is ready yo listen...request the senior management to give a look.
I booked this hotel for my wife's birthday and what a treat it was! The room was more than comfortable and the staff were just lovely! We got upgraded to a king room and there was a card and chocolate for the birthday girl! Very personal and very kind! Would most definitely stay here again!
The BW Plus Delmere Hotel is certainly worth a visit. Its location is excellent with transport and a good choice of restaurants within minutes walk. The rooms are compact but perfectly adequate and they are well appointed with modern equipment. The staff are friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Quiet street close to edgeware road and walking distance to Hyde park, Oxford street. Hotel clean and staff very friendly. However this is somewhere just to put your head down. There is a bar advertised on website but it is literally 2 stools at the reception. We were in room 002-first impressions- being in basement bathroom smelled of damp. Room clean and comfortable bed. However air con blows all the time even when you switch it off, fan is positioned right above the pillows so no escape! Room was very noisy anyway with air con and underground but last night furniture getting dragged along floor upstairs after 11 pm kept us awake until after midnight. No phone signal in basement and no where to go other than outside to make a call. I would book again but I would not stay in room 002!
Had a very pleasant stay here over a 2 night stop. A very modern feel to the room and very tastefully designed. King room was a nice size, not massive, but you have enough space. Good walk in shower with a hand held shower head and a large fixed head from above. All light switches where touch buttons with a choice of 3 light settings, albeit my bedside light had no bulb but it wasn't really an issue for me. Big 42" tv on the wall which had iplayer and such like on it with facilities to mirror your phone through it, connect to blue tooth etc. Overall very happy with the stay, would definitely stay again if was in the area.
I booked a King Room and was more than satisfied. The room size was ample, the design was nice & modern, the smart TV was huge, the bed & quilt was soft & good, there were more than enough pillows, the light switches were modern, beautifully designed & wonderfully high tech, the toilet and shower was excellent, the bath towels were plush and large, wifi was efficient, although each device required a separate password, and you have to connect everytime your device goes to sleep mode. Hotel is very close to Paddington station so it's perfect to take the Heathrow Express to the airport (only 15-20mins ride!). Lancaster Gate station a little further but a pleasant short walk away. Breakfast was average, & only continental, but there are other very good breakfast places nearby. The staff was friendly although not everyone really knew enough about London to give much tourist advice. Special mention to Eleonora who was wonderfully friendly, cheerful and helpful. And Federica for helping me reserve my room. My only grouse is minor; that's because I was on the first floor (I did request for a room with a large window, so they gave me that room) so it looked out on to the street and, even though the street was fairly quiet, and windows were seemed quite sound-proof, there was no privacy when the curtains were opened with full view from passersby . The walls are also a little thin so I could hear the chatter and movement of tables of whatever was next door early every morning. Fortunately it didn't last very long. Perhaps I'll try a room on the higher floors next time. But as I mentioned, they were minor problems compared to everything else, which made my stay at the BW Delmere an absolutely comfortable and happy one!
Myself and my partner booked this hotel from 27th to 30th May for the play off final at Wembley. We booked it last minute and I was surprised at how reasonable the price was. Granted, breakfast wasn't included, but we didn't mind. We arrived at 10pm to be greeted by two lovely members of staff who made us feel at ease and couldn't be more accommodating. The room and facilities were very modern and clean, the location was perfect, a 5-10 minute walk to Hyde Park, and a 3-5 minute walk to Paddington Tube Station, and all staff were polite and courteous. The only draw back was not being able to stay longer! I definitely recommend this hotel, but would probably say it's more suited for couples or business trips rather than families due to having basic facilities i.e no pool, garden and children's play area etc. However, I will be staying here again on my next trip to London!
Nice little hotel with comfortable well equiped (apart from no fridge which would have been good) rooms. Rooms are well decorated, clean and modern. The hotel targets the middle of the market and they do so successfully. Staff were friendly and helpful. Small lift and free coffee on offer is always well received.
We stayed here for two nights and fond the staff very helpful and friendly. The location is great, especially as the hotel is not situated on a busy street. The rooms are bijou, but have everything needed for a pleasant overnight stay. Bathroom was spotlessly clean and very modern. The location is perfect for exploring all attractions, as well as having a selection of bars and restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at this charming, recently renovated hotel conveniently located about a block and a half from Paddington Station. Upon our arrival the staff politely greeted us and got us squared away in a jiffy. Our double room was small and the bathroom was a bit of a tight fit (and I'm not a big person!), but the recent updates made up for it. Besides, when you're in London, you should be out exploring, not cooped up on your room. Although we didn't make any specific requests, our room was located on the backside of the hotel so if you are worried about street noise, you may want to request a room on the back of the hotel as the front faces a fairly busy street that might lead to noise congestion. Our room was spotless, not a crumb in sight. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. We didn't hear any of our neighbors. The location is fantastic; only a block and a half away from Paddington Station. We generally use Paddington as our base in London so we can hop a train north to Oxford, one of our favorite cities in the world. Still, it's a great location to explore London from, and the recent renovations make this hotel a winner. Highly recommended!
Yes, the rooms are small - you get what you pay for! With rooms in London going for anything from £100 to £10,000 a night you have to set expectations. This hotel had a perfect check in experience, they actually got me in very early in the day with no questions or extra costs. Room small, but enough room to sit at desk and work, and a great shower / washroom area. less than 5 minutes to Paddington station as well, loads of bars and places to eat in area.
Extremely small rooms for us. Location great for trains etc and shopping . Staff and cleanliness good just room size a problem .. Studio only it seems Ok for one but two this was just too small??? Breakfast was continental only but very good quality.
Love the location and the hotel but don't expect a cheap bill. I was prepared to pay the price but if you're setting up a reservation you might get sticker shock! Very good pubs, breakfast places and fish & chip take aways nearby.
This hotel was great. New modern rooms. Very clean. Walking distance from Hyde Park and Underground stations. Direct bus line to Piccadilly Circus that runs 24hrs. I would definitely recommend staying here. Staff is very helpful.
I loved this hotel. To get the bad out of the way first, the room was tiny, the wi-if worked at the beginning of my visit, but not later, the air conditioning control in my room didn't work, and I had to ask the desk to turn it on. So, why five stars? Several reasons. First and foremost, customer service. The people at the desk could not have been more friendly and helpful. I arrived on the Heathrow Express at 7:30 a.m and went to the hotel to drop off my bags. I had no expectation at all of being able to check in that early. I just wanted to drop the bags and head out for a day of sightseeing. But the gentleman at the desk told me my room was ready, and I could go ahead and check in. Wow! Quite unexpected, and very nice to be able to clean up a little before heading out. The location of the hotel is perfect. Literally a 5-minute walk from Paddington Station, on a quiet street, close to Hyde Park, and lots of restaurants and pubs just around the corner. The room, though tiny, was clean, modern, and comfortable, with all the amenities. I can't say anything about the breakfast because I didn't take it. Breakfast was 9 pounds, and there were many cheaper options just around the corner. I would happily stay here again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel in the Paddington Station area.
Excellent modern hotel, small rooms but clean and very well appointed. Recently had a high spec re-fit. Great location, about five mins walk to either Paddington station or to Hyde Park. Loads of restaurants/cafe's and bars near by for drink or food. Helpful & friendly staff.
I've told everyone about out delightful stay at Best Western's Delmere Hotel. From finding it online and checking in effortlessly 30 minutes later and much earlier than the posted check-in time, to the cute rooms with very sleek design including a rain shower, heated towel rack, touch light switches, and a big flat screen TV, to the breakfast room with complimentary coffees, teas, hot chocolate and snacks, we simply loved the hotel. We had reservations at another hotel but knew the minute we arrived that it wouldn't work. We took one look around the room and quickly left. And for the same price as that one room with 4 twin beds and one bath we were able to get TWO rooms at the Delmere. And the location! It was an easy walk to lots of dining options, to the Paddington Underground Station, to souvenir shops, to the hop-on/hop-off tour stops, 30 minutes from Heathrow, and on a block wth all very tasteful hotels (and several beautiful red photo-worthy telephone booths). Should I return to London I would absolutely love to stay at the Delmere again.
Overall, The Hotel Delemere was very satisfactory. The location was extremely convenient to Paddington Station and getting back to Heathrow, and the service was very good. The only thing surprising was how tiny the size of the rooms were: literally, 11 feet by 12 feet including 3 feet for the bathroom width. Everything you needed was there but, in miniature. Like being on a cruise ship.
l use this hotel every week when lm in london for work, it is very close walking distance to the paddington underground and to bars and resturants. the rooms are clean, have large flat screen tvs, comfortable beds and good showers what more do you need?
Business stay of one night for a dinner in the City of London but needed to be close to Paddington for an early train. The hotel has been very nicely refurbished and has helpful staff, although their English was sometimes a bit hard to understand. I was booked into a "Small and Cozy" room which to be honest was as big as many standard rooms in other hotels. Comfy bed and nice quiet air conditioning. Free coffee in the lobby. Only downsides were that leaving around 0500 meant that I couldn't grab breakfast - there was no takeaway option, and that the top floor rooms seem to be close to the ventilation plant and there was a discernable hum in my room; noticeable at night when everything else is quiet, but I am a bit sensitive to noises like this. I will happily stay there again if I can get a room facing the rear and not on the top floor.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Delmere Hotel in London. Attentive staff and modern recently refurbished room. The hotel is situated within reasonable taxi distance of the central London attractions. Would definitely stay there again
Stayed for a week as London base. After a side trip to Scotland returned for last night in UK before departing for home. Chosen because of the location to Paddington with excellent availability to underground and rail services. Located on street of hotels in former Victorian homes. Completely remodeled with very modern rooms and amenities. Enjoyed the rainfall shower. The lift was located in the center of the building next to registration and opens on either side according to room location. I was only three steps when it arrived at my floor to my room. Very convenient. Staff very personable and helpful in recommending local restaurants. The breakfast room staff were particularly kind and it was a pleasure to see them each morning.
They closed and did a significant renovation in Q1 2016. I recently stayed and found they had done a great job. Large TVs, electronic controls, large towels and soft sheets. I'm not sure if they upgraded the windows as well but there was no road noise. They have a bar and continental breakfast available but there are many restaurants within easy walking distance. The updated rooms, together with the easy walking location, make this a great value. The staff is friendly and efficient. It is my favorite when I am coming through Paddington.
Two-night stay booked last minute. Opted for a 'cosy' room as I was only there to sleep and shower but was pleasantly surprised to get a room upgrade on check-in. Room was ground floor, behind reception and facing Sussex Gardens, but was surprisingly quiet apart from the occasional rumble of a passing tube train deep below! Very comfy bed, spotlessly clean room, compact but great shower + easy-to-use hi-tech room lighting/DND control. Loved the flip-out reading spotlight by the bed. The young man - a trainee, with no name badge - who was on duty when I arrived was super helpful and welcoming (and seemed to be managing the place on his own). Area has oodles of restaurants and coffee shops, and Paddington is a 4-min walk away. Would definitely recommend for a central, convenient, cosy and clean London stay.
only stayed 1 night for a brief 40th birthday trip to london. our room was ultra modern and everything touch screen! staff very helpful and a brilliant location for a choice of 3 underground stations. good restaurants and bars just around corner next to paddington station.
Stayed here for one night in what was called a cosy double. It had obviously been recently refurbished and was very clean and modern, with eco friendly lights and shower controls. I did have a little problem with both my booking and the fact that the website implied that there was a room service facility but the staff handled this very efficiently and rofessionally. For the record the hotel does not have a restaurant or offer room service. The hotel is very close to Paddington station and does have a lift. I stayed on the ground floor towards the rear of the hotel, which was pretty quiet. The bed was comfy. There are also very high tech facilities in the room to stream from other devices etc but I did not use them. As always in London the room was quite snug. Breakfast was continental style but plentiful. Overall a pleasant experience and I would stay here again because of the convenient location.
Stayed here for two nights, our room backed on to the lift so first night a little disturbed, got used to it for second night. Shower was great, pillows quite soft but very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here one night because it's close to Paddington and I was flying out of Heathrow the next day. It's just about 2 blocks from the station and easy to find. Typical Paddington tiny hotel in a row of similar places, but it's updated and modern (though my room was facing a courtyard so only had one tiny window and was very dark). Would stay here again - it was less than half the price of the Hilton Paddington!
Small hotel, unfriendly staff, very poor breakfast; Good quality of room fixtures and new inside overall but not everything is working properly, and in the same area there are plenty of other hotels to choose from with a better price/value ratio.
Very clean, very stylish and excellently appointed rooms, but very lacking in amenities. The rooms were recently decorated, very clean and very quiet, with a large TV/entertainment system, but the hotel itself was lacking in communal areas, no restaurant or bar (despite the web site description), this actually being a few drinks in a cupboard behind reception. I was somewhat put off by my room being located in an annex which could only be accessed by going outside; it's a good job it wasn't raining! That said the staff were very professional and helpful.
Love this hotel, always request to stay here, location is perfect - travelling by train, can easily drops bags within a couple of mins and then head out. The extras this boutique hotel offers definitely out way most chains.
We stayed for one Saturday night in February using our Best Western points. The hotel was very quiet despite being only a stones throw from Paddington. The rooms and bathrooms are quite small but have everything you need for a short stay. Excellent shower and friendly staff.
The BW Delmere Hotel is very well located for transport and restaurants with a plentiful supply of both. The hotel itself is very comfortable. The cosy double is quite small but perfectly adequate and well kitted out. The breakfast was very tasty with good choices. The staff were efficient and helpful and made me feel welcome.
My wife and I stayed here in a 'King Size' room on a Friday night. The hotel has been completely re-modeled to a very high standard. (I stayed here once several years and the transformation is truly amazing). The room is reasonably sized, extremely well equipped and well thought out ensuring that the space is used to the full. The decor was modern, very clean and crisp. All the staff were excellent and very professional. Continental breakfast is served in the breakfast room which is also very modern with similar decor to the rooms. The delightful lady running breakfast made sure that all the items were constantly topped-up. The hotel also looked after our cases throughout the day. We will definitely stay here again.
We stayed here last weekend Saturday and Sunday nights The hotel is ideally situated just around the corner from Paddington tube station its a lovely place the staff are really attentive and friendly the rooms are compact reflecting the dimensions of the building however they are butifully designed and very stylish book this hotel with confidence
We really liked this property. The room was VERY SMALL, but the location was PERFECT for leaving London by way of Heathrow. It is within easy walking distance of Paddington Station, which has several kinds of train runs to Heathrow (express and non-express, which is still pretty fast!). The staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful. A very pleasant stay. By the way, the street on which the hotel is located is extremely charming.
The best thing about this hotel that its about 5 min walk from paddington, where you can take the underground to everywhere in London , the rooms are very small and there wasn't a closest only a shelf where you can put few things, the room on the first two days was at the 2 floor 202 it was cold and noisy so they changed it for us 404 which was good and warm but the bathroom was took narrow . overall a good hotel .
Coming from Australia, I am used to the Best Western group of hotels/motels. The Delmere Hotel did not disappoint at all. I booked my stay through the hotel website and secured a good rate for two nights. When I arrived to check in, they upgraded my room for free. The receptionists were all helpful and very accommodating. I had to check out at 5:30am to catch an early flight at Heathrow Airport (Heathrow Express from Paddington) and I asked if I could have an early breakfast at 5am. They usually serve their continental buffet from 7-11am. They gave me a sheet with all the breakfast items and after indicating what I wanted, they prepared it nicely on a tray for me at 5am in the morning and set me in the 'hub' where I could have my breakfast, stress-free. Wifi can be patchy due to the type of provider they are using. It's not an always-on connection but did not fail when I needed the internet. Room was decently sized for a hotel next to paddington station. Very modern fixtures. Everything was digitally operated..even in the shower. The only things analog were the sink tap and toilet flush. A really enjoyable stay and I will most certainly head back there in future.
Honestly this is he best hotel I've stayed in while in London, so clean and close to everything.. As well as great, helpful & friendly staff and a good manager, they gave me an upgrade on my second stay too! Would defiantly stay here again! So nice!
A hotel with efficient and helpful staff. Stayed in a twin room with my daughter and the Room was small but well appointed, with excellent bathroom facilities. Traveling alone I might upgrade to one of the larger doubles, that although not large have a little more space. A very convenient location at a good price.
Nicely renovated hotel with a short walk to the Underground, restaurants, and shopping. Short cab rides to your favorite places. Professional staff that were helpful. Small room that was comfortable over the 3 days I stayed. Bathroom is small but efficient. Good WiFi and TV system with great options beyond just TV. Bar in the lobby.
I stayed for an overnight stay due to its very close proximity to Paddington mainline station (Literally a 5 minutes stroll) after looking on the internet. Always a bit cautious about the accuracy of the photos I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean, modern and well laid out and just like the photos. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was excellent. The room was a twin room and on a mezzanine level off the staircase but I heard no noise. I must also say that the staff were very helpful and friendly. I believe they do a continental breakfast but unfortunately I had an early start and no time to try it.
Very good Location, Clean and quiet night. Close to all. Very satisfied and will come back. Access from Paddington station is easy and not very far. The people in this hotel are very nice and helpful. All the information where given to me about how to visit London.
This was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, but that didn't matter to me for my 2 night stay. The design of the room was intelligent and it was very comfortable. Quite newly renovated I think in a classic old London house type of building. The location was perfect for my purposes, close to Paddington Station and the underground and reasonable walking distance for lots of things, such as Oxford Street shopping and Hyde Park. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Value was excellent by London standards. For a solo traveller wanting comfortable and dependable accommodation for a short stay, this fits the bill.
I never thought I would find such a good quality hotel at such an amazingly low price. Staff were efficient. I had a single room. It was not big, but was modern. Everything was a high standard. Shower was wonderful. Wi fi worked well. Good restaurants close by. Less than 5 minutes walk from paddington station.
Adequate for business trip. Staff were excellent, room small but clean and adequate. Use of WiFi ok. breakfast was continental; perhaps fresher if eating early however later in the morning this wasnt so fresh. Location 15/20 minutes from Kings Cross by taxi, surrounding area nice little bars and restaurants.
Looks lovely from outside. Check in painless. Bright well decor reception. I had a single cosy room. Thought it might be poky and small. I should have worried. It was small but the perfect for me. The room was spotless. The bed was comfy. The duvet, sheets and pillows were like new. Tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom though small was arranged so well and so modern I didn't mind it was small. Perfect shower, with nice toiletries and fluffy towels. MOOD LIGHTING. Big television. Only negative, the room facing the street is noisy although I was tried so fell a sleep straight away.
Spent one night in a single room - travelling to London on business. A tiny single room which was well equipt but too small for me to feel comfortable in really. Beautifully decorated room and lovely shower. Breakfast was pleasant although it's only continental. Good location with plenty of restaurants and bars just round the corner! A boutique hotel but avoid the single rooms if you can and it can be noisey in the front of the hotel from the road.
Located in Sussex Gardens minutes away from Paddington tube and rail station. Local shops, restaurants and bars near by. Quite and peaceful area. Oxford street shopping is about 30 minutes walk or minutes by tube. Hotel is ultra modern. Room was cosy and very clean. Good value for money for London. Staff were all very friendly. We were staying for our first anniversary and were greeted to a card and box of chocolates in our room. A lovely little touch which we were so thankful for. Rooms equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, TV and an amazing shower in the bathroom! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to explore London and would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic hotel in a convenient location to Paddington station and the underground, recently refurbished to a very high standard. The hotel Manager Yenny Lopez and all her team were professional friendly and polite nothing was to much trouble, the rooms are everything you would need on a break to the city. We will be visiting this hotel again in the future.
Booked this a few days beforehand and cancelled a much more pricey hotel that didn't seem half as nice! Was t disappointed. Paddington is our fave place to stay due to location and great selection of places to eat and drink, and so easy to get everywhere. This hotel was fab. Very modern and clean. Very tastefully done. Comfy bed. Great shower. Loved the little touch of help yourself complimentary hot drinks. Very welcomed. Would definitely stay here again. Only thing stopping it being 5/5 was the quilt which was in a waterproof protection underneath the cover. Meaning it kept sliding out as the bottom of the quilt cover didn't have poppers or buttons so this was awkward in the night. Other than that loved it!
Great rooms, spotlessly clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Just a two minute walk off the train at Paddington. Great base for walking around London or getting the tube. Would recommend for leisure our business stay.
Well, I am now a diamond elite member of Best Western Hotels Reward...so can say that this property was expensive for the kind of room we got. It did have everything but is way way too tiny for two persons. The toilets are too small too. Staff was polite and nice...no problem at that end. Breakfast room and the meal and the staff there was all perfect. Location was good, just near Paddington Station. Even being an elite member of Best Western... received no special accomodation of any kind....all requests for any early check in or late check out were not met. Don't know what is the privelege of having the elite membership!!
We stayed here in September. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The room is smaller than what I am used to but it was only used when we slept. The hotel is close to the train/underground station and I would stay here again. There are some nice pubs close by and there is plenty to see.
My friend and I had a room each for 2 nights here and we loved it. As some people have commented, the single rooms are small (we had 1 single and 1 double) but this is London and both rooms were more than adequate for our needs had everything we wanted. Rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds were comfy and the temperature easily controlled from the bedside switches. I'm a light sleeper and had asked for a quiet room and that's what I was given, thank you. The decor was lovely, clean and fresh throughout the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the 'hub' with newspapers, coffee etc is a great idea, the continental breakfast was generous and being able to leave our luggage there after checkout was indeed a bonus. I really can't fault this hotel, it's within a couple of minutes walk of Paddington Station and about a 15 minutes walk to Hyde Park or Oxford Street, both of which visited on foot. We had a really relaxing stay and would happily recommend, I'll certainly use this hotel again when I visit London.
The parking is very poor only 2 parking bays at the front of the hotel on a service road if you are lucky enough to get one they charge £15 which is very good additional parking a few minutes away on a public car park.
super tiny room, but u get everything u need. Very clean and modern design. The bed is small but very very comfortable. friendly staffs who are very helpful ans cheerful. most importantly, it locates in the center of London.......around 10 minutes walk to Hyde Park Highly recommended?
Everything is very new and hightech: dimmers and buttons everywhere with a nice design. Well located close to Paddington station (200 m?) Small room, but that was clear at info, so it was no surprise. Decent continental breackfast
I am a travel agent and can be "picky" but traveling as a woman alone I felt I made a great choice with this property. Location is ideal, just a short walk from Paddington. Located on a lovely tree lined street, Sussex Gardens, it is hard to believe you are in the heart of a big city like London. I will not repeat what other posters have reported, but my single room was wonderful (401), I loved all the "green" features and the new update. Staff was very helpful. Upon checkin my room was not available, however when I returned my luggage was already in my room. I did not have breakfast due to an early train. Walking distance to many restaurants, Hyde Park and two close tube stations. I will definitely return and also book my clients here! Thank you for such a nice experience.
The room I had was tiny - not unusual in the area. Otherwise the room was very nice and the staff very friendly. The lift had broken when I was about to leave and the service staff came immediately to carry my heavy suitcase down 3 floors. Thanks.
I booked into the Delmere Hotel because of its location - it was a very short walk from Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express. I'd also read some good reviews, and now I've stayed there, I can only agree. It is excellent. The whole hotel has just been fully renovated. While I stayed in a small single room (and it was small!) it had the most amazing amenity. The bed was beautifully comfortable and all lights etc. were on a panel just at the back of the bed - so you could control everything with the push of a button. Likewise with the shower - while the bathroom was also small, the shower was brilliant - controls at the push of a button and the water was hot and the rain shower fantastic. The lovely staff at the Delmere was another pleasant surprise - they really do provide "Service with a Smile" and went out of their way to ensure my stay was enjoyable. There is a little coffee room with a large kitchen style table and free coffee and tea, newspapers etc.. Summing up - I thoroughly recommend the Delmere Hotel. Enjoy...
Good reception and location is good for Paddington train station being a 5 minute walk. I had a "cosy single" meaning VERY small room and VERY small bathroom - for the money. The room though was clean and very neat and the bathroom likewaise as they have been recently refurbished. Just be aware that the rooms are very small and no room for a suitcase really. Bed comfy and no major complaints apart from the Value for Money aspect. I would use again but only if other cheaper places were full.
