I recently traveled from Boston and, after booking a stay online at the ‘Buffalo Best Western Hotel,' I mistakenly ended up staying at the ‘Cheektowaga Best Western,' located just 10 miles away. The next morning, I realized my mistake and requested a refund for the no-show fee. As a non-native speaker, explaining the situation was stressful for me. After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue over the next four days, I visited the hotel in person with the invoice from the hotel where I had mistakenly stayed, to explain the situation and kindly request a refund. Unfortunately, the staff member I spoke with was rude and dismissive, asking, “Don't you have GPS?” before informing me that a refund would not be possible. I would not have chosen to stay in a budget hotel if I didn't have financial concerns. Additionally, the hotel did not contact me when I failed to check in, which could have alerted me to the mistake earlier. Due to the lack of understanding from the owner, I was unfairly charged $123 for a no-show that I did not intend.
We were extremely pleased with our stay at Best Western Buffalo Inn & Suites this past weekend. While the room was small, it was clean, with very modern conveniences in the bathroom, a new pillow-top queen bed, very compact with shelving for our various items , a window seat for extra seating or luggage, which was all very comfortable for my husband and I. If I had to say anything at all negative, it would be the metal tray under the mini fridge presumably there to stop any dripping or excess condensation. The lip on the tray required us to literally lift the fridge door to open and close it. Nothing to really worry about but very odd in such a modern and updated room. We will return!
This is an average hotel, minimalist in terms of furniture in rooms and in common area. Not many cars in parking lot on a Thursday night in July at 8 PM. A number of better known motels adjacent and nearby. Hard to guess when this was built but….big note for all: there is NO SIGN on the road that we could see that said EVA Hotel. None. You must input the address into your phone or iPad and then you can find. The Only sign out front is “Best Western” who apparently bought out this place…at an unknown time. So, if you book, input address into your phone and then LOOK for Best Western sign. Some odd things. When I asked the desk attendant why no sign saying “EVA” or equivalent. She said it was now a Best Western. So…why is it still listed as EVA? Unknown. Also, the bathroom appears to have had a significant positive change for the shower. Three bottles of shampoo, etc. plus a rain show head and a normal shower head. Also shows new caulking at the front bottom edge of the entire shower on the floor. With no real data, I suspect that this nice shower was put in fairly recently. Last comment: due to the drive that we make from home to the place we spend some time every summer, this location (near the Buffalo airport) is the best place to stop as we travel East. Just about all the motels we found in this area are overpriced. Period. So, if you have to stay, suggest you manage your expectations as to what you pay and what you get. Doubt we'll stay here again…or even in this area near the Buffalo airport. Will try fifty miles more to the East most like along I-90.
When we travel, we most often book rooms with Best Western (BW) of Hilton due to the quality of the rooms. When we booked BW Buffalo Inn & Suites we thought that we were booking a room that is of BW quality, we soon found out that we made a huge mistake. We booked one of the so-called handicap suites, unfortunately this room was dirty with human hair all over the bathroom floor. The mini refrigerator was not working due to the cooling element frozen over. The mini refrigerator was grudgingly replaced shortly after the issue was brough to the attention of the front desk attendant, the front door attendant initially showed a passive aggressive attitude towards my concerns regarding the refrigerator issue, I had to explain in extreme detail as to the what the problem was with the mini refrigerator. Be aware that this location does have a microwave, however it is one small microwave to be shared by the entire building. The mini microwave oven was dirty with dried rice inside and all around it, it is placed near the front desk in a clothing closet size room. I mentioned that the microwave oven was dirty and asked the front desk clerk when it was last cleaned and how often it was cleaned, she responded with a smile "daily", I stated maybe it should be cleaned numerous times a day since the entire hotel has to use one microwave oven. I mentioned that not having a microwave oven in a BW room was uncommon, she said "Hotel 6, and other such hotels don't have microwave ovens in the room" I stated, I wouldn't expect a BW hotel to be similar to the Hotel 6, I would expect much better. Just because it has the BW logo doesn't mean anything when the hotel is dirty.
This was a last minute reservation on a solar eclipse trip. Extreme price gouging - but same as every where else. It's located at n the edge of large open area filled with other (more modern looking) chain hotels close to the airport. Not much to look at from outside, except plenty of free parking. Inside, it's clean and modern. The rooms are small, but updated, including the bathroom. Carpet is clean and bed lines look good. The beds are very comfortable. Great showers with very good pressure and rain shower heads. Breakfast was very good - bread product, waffles, cooked food (including bacon) and best of all a self service automatic espresso machine (I have never before seen this in a US hotel/motel). I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the very strong perfume scent that permeated the whole building (makes me wonder what odor they are trying to cover up!) which gave me a bad taste and made me cough at night. However, this may have just been a personal allergy?
