Hotels in Indre-et-Loire

Well, trust all the good reviews and compliments - this is a lovely old building in a great location and the breakfast is definitely up there with the best. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. BUT - my wife booked and paid for our overnight stay the day before our arrival using her cellphone. On arrival we found that my wife's sausage fingers had booked the 17th instead of 18th. We apologised and admitted it was our fault. No matter. The lady in charge tells us firmly that payment has been taken for 17th and we must pay again - even though we have not used anything. Seemed harsh and unsympathetic. It was a simple mistake on our part and it would have cost them nothing to give us what we had already paid for! But no, not even a reduction or offer of free parking or breakfast. So we had, in effect, to pay double for a single night. You wonder if she would have insisted on twice the rate if we had not already paid for the 17th. Because in that event we would definitely have walked out. We didn't cause a scene, we're not that type….but it seemed like opportunism and it left a bitter taste…….

Our room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. The hotel itself is a bit dated and could be refreshed. The breakfast had a good selection however we think the scrambled eggs were from a powder mix and were not good. We were travelling with bikes and there was only one small stand attached to the cement to lock your bikes to. The one other stand was not attached to anything. Also, no outlets to recharge your e-bike. This was very poor considering they advertise for the bike tour routes of the Loire. The location was good and the staff were nice.

The hotel's name gives away its biggest asset: it is right in the centre of Tours with most sights and lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. I chose the hotel because of its convenient parking lot - but be sure to book a spot if you want to use that. The building is a refurbished old complex, so some of the rooms have an irregular shape. We had a very large family room. The elevator and room decoration are very French, but luckily we had real pillows rather than a bolster :-). The breakfast is more than a croissant with butter and jam, but you pay for it.

The hotel is perfect for walking the sites and shopping of Tours. The room adequate but for a delux King the shower over the bath was a slip hazard and not brilliant. Room was Ok. I am sure you could ask for the fridge (not a mini bar) to be filled plus real milk instead of powdered sachets. Room as said ...ok quiet enough. Breakfast avoid! Noisy with staff banging plates etc. very narrow seating so you are forever pulling your chair in or manoeuvring yourself around others. The eggs were powdered and sat in a large yellow lump! Small sausages so hard you could not cut them. No bacon ... positive fresh orange juice. I would go into town much more choice and better value

This was such a nice hotel, completely unexpected in the small village of Chinon. The room was spacious, gracious and charming. The bathroom had been redone to have a marvelous two person shower. The breakfast was fabulous, and although there's not an elevator all of the charm made up for that lack. We were on the second floor, which wasn't too bad. It is right in the center of the town Square and at the base of the fortress so perfect for people who are sightseeing. We spent nearly 40 days in Europe this trip and this may have been my favorite hotel..

Friendly, professional, helpful staff. Large room, very clean, and kept immaculate by the hard-working cleaning lady. Nespresso machine in-room, kept stocked by the staff. Amazing breakfast, with eggs, bacon, large espresso machine, orange juice, pastries, cereals, and the best pain au chocolat in Amboise. Highly recommended. One very small complaint: the in-room fridge did not keep the sodas cold.

What a fabulous hotel. Very friendly people, very accommodating, nothing too much trouble. We stayed for 2 nights. Room was smallish but spotlessly clean and well appointed. Perfect for what we needed. Sits right on the square, which is a perfect location. The hotel is quite deceptive. A very nice separate breakfast room, which serves everything you could wish for breakfast. Nice terrace to sit and have a glass of something after a long day. Luggage and bike storage also available, which is great if you're returning to the hotel having cycled for a few days. Sparkling/still water dispenser available to fill water bottles before heading off. Just a perfect hotel which exceeded all our expectations.

A great experience at this hotel. Staff are so kind and friendly. We found the location perfect as we wanted to be near the trian station. Also, nat bad walk into the old town from here. Great job!!!!

Cycling tour in Loire. Very enjoyable two night stay. Excellent location. Staff very helpful, especially the lady manager. Only problem is the steep stairs and no lift.
