The hotel is at the end of a one way street, so going there by car means parking the car! Either in the garage of the hotel (limited) or in the public one next to the hotel. In the evening it gets pretty busy there, so turning back is quite impossible. All streets leading to the hotel are quite narrow and some are a bit steep. The hotel itself is not on the street but inside the block. So you walk a few meters through a gate (locked in the evening, code is given) to the reception. Reception was friendly and helpful. After roaming the inner city and the parc (gets closed at 10pm!) we spent a calm night. Breakfast next morning was delayed some minutes as someone did not show up. Reception made the preparations quickly and breakfast was fine. Seems it is even possible to sit outside. However, dont expect much of a view. Due to the traffic situation, I would not visit by car again.

After reading the mixed reviews we arrived with some trepidation and a little difficulty in finding it via sat nav however our experience was very good. Location was excellent, right by a main route. Welcome from Kamal in reception was excellent, he was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and airy and dinner at night was really good. My husband and I had different starters and desserts but chose the same main - meagre with bouillabaisse which was absolutely beautiful. Everything was reasonably priced, all the staff were very friendly and if we are in the area again we will return.

We stayed here on the Monday and Friday of w/c 1st June. It is a good location close to the motorway in a well wooded area. The rooms are good. However the reception/dining experience was poor. On Monday we booked dinner at reception but when we arrived at the restaurant they had no record of the booking, but reluctanly we were seated. On our return on Friday we made a point at reception to ensure our dinner booking. Again when we arrived at the restaurant they had no record and were unable to seat us, although many tables were empty. We returned to reception to complain where the lady was rude and unhelpful. As the hotel is some way from central Poitiers and it was late,we had no option but sleep with no food. We do not reccomend the hotel.

After a 10 hour drive we were looking forward to a drink at the bar and a light meal in the restaurant. We were denied both by the staff. We were told that the restaurant was not taking any new bookings for that evening when we arrived at 7pm. Instead, we thought that we would have a drink before heading out to find somewhere to eat downtown. We waited for 15 minutes at the bar trying to catch the attention of the bartender who was doubling up as one of the restaurant staff. We were the only people waiting at the bar to be served. After 15 minutes we sought out the restaurant manager and asked if we could get served at the bar. He said yes and then completely ignored us. We noted with interest that the restaurant was not full and, as the early diners were leaving, the tables were left empty. We deduced that there was some type of private function taking place in another part of the hotel. This seemed to be consuming the time of the hotel kitchen staff and we suspect that the restaurant manager had prioritised the needs of the private function over good customer service for hotel guests. After a total of a 20 minute wait, we decided to give up and drive to an external bar and restaurant as the hotel is located some distance from downtown (one of us is tea-total, thank goodness, so driving wasn't a problem). We complained to reception before departing but it seemed clear that nothing was going to change for us. We would also add that the shower in the bath was not easy to access as the height of the side of the bath is higher than normal and there is no grab rail or internal plastic shower mat so getting in and out of the bath/shower area was tricky.

The hotel was easy to find and park. Friendly staff, and close to the bars and restaurants of the city centre. The rooms were adequate and clean . Breakfast was bountiful, but once items were finished, nobody appeared to be replenishing them.

Pleasant stay in a very comfortable and centrally located hotel. The staff was very pleasant. The breakfast was very good and the woman in charge was wonderful and engaging.

on the road decision based on pictures and some references. It was OK. Best part was the breakfast and service connected to this. Location is good if you are on the run. Room was OK. Overall the hotel is in dyre need of a new look and feel. To pricy compared to what is available out there.

We stayed here on the 16th of December for five days the staff team are very helpful and friendly the room was spacious and modern and clean I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We always stop off here on our way to and from Portugal twice a year with our dogs. The cottages are great for people with dogs although a door mat in the hall would be a good idea. There used to be a small bottle of water each in the room but there's only one now although the kettle and good selection of teas remain. So why only 3 out of 5? Because we arrived at 8:30pm after traffic problems to find that the usually very good dining room was closed. Apparently they had had too many diners and run out of food…. This was just very poor management and planning because they knew how many people had booked to stay and the restaurant is the reason for staying in what otherwise amounts to a very expensive motel. Instead after nine hours driving we had to get back in the car and drive to a town to find a takeaway.

I was surprised at the negative comments in previous reviews. It was a good stop for one night and would definitely return . It's a basic hotel however reception was very friendly, and the areas of the hotel which we saw were clean and modern. Very dog friendly with a large green area for ‘walkies'. We stayed in one of the ‘cottages' …. ideal for dogs. The main disappointment was that the restaurant was closed, and there was no good alternative nearby. Feeling malnourished !!
