"Excellent staff and restaurant"
ALESSIA S, 08 Avril 2024

After Florence and Rome Excellent return to Naples, a stop we often make in this fantastic hotel Restaurant staff on the terrace, nice and attentive young people, good food super panoramic room and very clean Visiting Naples is fantastic and unique In the morning the breakfast is plentiful and varied, with excellent desserts, meat and typical Neapolitan mozzarella Thanks to Danilo and Raffaella See

"Never a 4 star hotel"
E2668VLcherylh, 05 Mars 2024

Sticky carpet, rock hard matress, flat pillows, dated bathroom. This hotel is a 2 star at best, the only reason it gets a 2 is for the amazing view from the Seaview room. The little balcony would benefit from some decent chairs instead of the strange deckchair style they provide. The bathroom looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's and the carpet in the room was disgusting. There was a slight unpleasant smell at times but we couldn't identify where it was coming from. There isn't anything near the hotel and you have to get a little train up and down the hill to get to the main part of town.

"Good place to stay however no eatery near it"
Excursion24962409136, 17 Décembre 2023

The hotel room was comfortable with a fantastic view…though the bathroom was too tiny especially the shower area. The hotel did not inform us that there only restaurant will not be functional during our stay which caused us lot of inconvenience

"Amazing Views"
RMichael1964, 09 Novembre 2023

Hotel is extremely clean, has a wonderful restaurant, and has the best view of any hotel in Naples. I have stayed several times the last few years, and the staff is always so welcoming and sincere; they make their guests feel like VIPs.

"Fabulous "
Sam C, 27 Septembre 2023

Just arrived home after spending a week here for our anniversary. Upon arrival our room was ready and it was just as we expected maybe a touch small but perfectly adequate spotless and a fabulous view across the bay and mount vesuivas in the distance. Within half a hour we were delivered a bottle of champagne to our room from the hotel which was amazing . The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating especially Francesco upstairs in the restaurant always smiling and very helpful. The hotel is everything we expected the only downside (which wasn't a problem for us as we enjoy walking ) is it's out of the way if your less mobile . The funicular itself is a good 10 minute walk uphill and the area is a disgrace bottles and rubbish everywhere we appreciate this is no fault of the hotel. We would highly recommend a trip to Pompeii and mount Vesuvius the hotel booked this for us through world travel which was faultless but again not for the less mobile . We enjoyed many walks to Naples various points of interest ,capri and sorrento which are beautiful. Breakfast in the hotel was very varied acommadating every nationality don't forget you are in Italy !! Restaurant upstairs wasn't for us not much choice lots of fish and a la carte could do with more traditional dishes from the area . But there are lots of restaurants in the area to enjoy . We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend as long as you enjoy walking

"Best Western Signature Hotel?"
Murphie07, 25 Septembre 2023

This is supposed to be a quality hotel but falls far short. Yes the reception area is beautifully decorated but that is where the beauty ends. Our room looked onto what I can only describe as an alley, it was dark & dingy. This hotel is a good hike from everything and there is no information in the hotel about the near by Funicular to get down to the harbour/marina and the staff aren't forthcoming with information either. The breakfast is really poor burned bacon, watery eggs not a good offering at all. We ate in the hotel one night and it was mediocre at best. Certainly wouldn't recommend it & definitely wouldn't stay there again.

"Stunning views, but a long way to the historic centre"
Susan W, 25 Septembre 2023

We requested a sea view and it was stunning. The room was functional, but comfortable - the air conditioning was essential. Breakfast was quite substantial and the one lunch and evening meal we had were well-presented and delicious. The cleaning staff and those in the restaurant were attentive and very pleasant. The reception area was very well-appointed and a nice place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Naples. We slept well and it was reasonably quiet overnight, with the exception of a couple of late night firework displays and an obvious party in the vicinity one night. Generally, however. the hillside location made for a restful stay. With the exception of one lady (on duty on Tuesday evening and the morning of our departure) the reception staff were disinterested and extremely uninformative about transport links and the city. In fact, they seemed bored by the presence of any guests other than the corporate group who were in attendance at the weekend. I would go so far as to say they were rude. The location of the hotel so far up the hill and requiring the funicular, a walk, a long bus ride and a further walk to the historic centre of if Naples makes the hotel unsuitable for those with mobility issues.

"A fabulous stay! "
238clairei, 22 Septembre 2023

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. The hotel itself is fantastic in terms of cleanliness, staff service, breakfasts and views (we booked a sea view room on the third floor). The hotel has simple but modern and clean decor. We enjoyed fabulous views from our room as well as the rooftop bar where we enjoyed an aperol spritz on an evening. The housekeeping team were also fantastic making up the room when requested. The only downside is as other reviews have stated is the location out of town and on a steep hill. While we read these reviews we thought well that's fine as we won't be around much as we will be exploring. However, after a long day exploring the Amalfi, Rome and even Naples, it can be a little tiresome deciding how to get home. If you have any mobility issues this wouldn't be the hotel for you. In addition to the hike to the hotel, the stairs up to the restaurant are steep and I did not see a lift to help those with mobility issues but I could be wrong so may be best to check. In order to help with the location I advise the below: 1. Buy a weekly pass for the public transport system that can be used across the bus, metro and funicular. There is a funicular around a 10 minute walk from the hotel which can then be used from the metro station melligena, at the bottom of the funicular. On the way back up get off at the stop above the hotel to avoid walking uphill. Again the same time walking from this stop to the hotel. 2. Taxis we found to be cheaper booked ourselves. There is a sign at the reception saying a taxi to the port and central station is €40. We got all taxis for at least half this to both areas and sometimes even less. All in all, a fantastic hotel but be prepared for a bit of a hike to get anywhere or to any shops. Around the marina we enjoyed the Transatlantico hotel for great beer and atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

"Honeymoon"
T9427WNgaryd, 18 Septembre 2023

We stayed at this hotel as the start of our honeymoon and would like to say wow the hotel was clean and tidy with amazing views from our balcony room over looking Naples bay and vesuvius. The staff especially Angelo were very helpful which made our stay much easier. The waiting on and bar staff were also impeccable with a great sense of humour and very friendly. If your looking for somewhere to stay we would definitely recommend

"Mergellina is loud."
guard78154, 18 Septembre 2023

Hotel was very nice, contemporary style. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room attractive and clean. The view from the restaurant balcony to see the naples bay and Vesuvius was spectacular! My tv kept cutting out, don't know why. They don't have the sport channels, so couldn't watch US Open tennis. My room overlooked the bay; however, they didn't tell me music plays til 2 am at the mergellina. So I was up til 2 am waiting for music to stop. Request a room not on the bay side. The hotel location a little difficult to get to. I long winding drive up hill to hotel. Not ideal to walk.

"Adequate and fabulous views but wouldn't stay again"
Carey M, 12 Septembre 2023

Arrived late after a flight delay, checking in was easy and efficient someone helped with our luggage to our room. The room was small but adequate we were only there 3 nights. The bed was comfy and extra pillows supplied quickly when asked for. View wasn't great from most rooms I would imagine facing another building unless you're up on the fourth floor where the restaurant is. If you have any mobility issues this is not the hotel for you, the restaurant is up a winding flight of stairs as well as the hotel being very high up a steep hill. You can use the funicular but there's still a little walk upto it to get down the hill or down when you're going back. Breakfast wasn't the best, yes the views are fabulous but the room gets very hot and blinds you and no shade. There wasn't a lot of options and frequently waiting for things to be replaced. Evening meals looked quite pricey but we didn't use it so can't really comment. There's not a lot of other options near by. We checked out and just got asked to pay the local tax not if everything had been ok or if we'd enjoyed our stay. I know we hadn't been there long so didn't really get to know the staff but no one seemed very interested.

"A super hotel. Great location. Great Staff"
Christopher R, 11 Septembre 2023

Absolutely first class. Very helpful staff. Contemporary decor. Food great. Would definitely recommend. We were here for three days before moving on to Sorrento. Were treated like kings. Easy access to Naples via Funicular railway.

"Fantastic Hotel!"
Judy A, 08 Septembre 2023

We stayed for 7 nights the last week in August as the base for the Naples leg of our holiday and we absolutely loved it. This first week of our holiday was really busy with quite a few planned trips so we wanted somewhere to come back to relax and unwind at, and we weren't disappointed. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room spacious with a balcony overlooking the bay. The rooftop restaurant has beautiful views of the bay and the food itself was delicious. We found all the hotel staff friendly and helpful too, nothing was too much trouble. Don't let it's position up a steep hill put you off either, the funicular is a 5 minute walk away and runs regularly with cheap fares

"Stunning views over Naples bay, a good base to explore from."
Kirsty J, 03 Septembre 2023

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2023. It was a great base from which to explore Naples, although out of the city meaning taxis back up the hill! The rooms had everything we needed for our short stay, and was comfortable. We had no view from our room, but it was literally our base and we were out all day and eve exploring the delights of Naples. The rooftop bar is really a highlight of this hotel with stunning views over the bay of Naples. Breakfast was really good and offered lots of choice, certainly enough to keep us going for the mornings exploring! Would definitely recommend and visit again!

"A slice of paradise! "
Tess S, 30 Août 2023

We had a great three night stay here as part of our honeymoon. Naples was quite overwhelming and this calm and luxurious hotel with gorgeous views was just the ticket to settle us in. The food was so good - although they did try to bill us for all our meals even though we booked half board so make sure you check the final bill. This was no problem to sort and all staff were v attentive, if not a bit stand off ish but I think this is just the Italian way! We would definitely return. Thanks for a fab stay.

"Gorgeous views, food and staff . Lovely neighbourhood, safe and calm. "
universal1234, 22 Août 2023

The hotel is lovely , located in a prime spot with beautiful views of Napoli gulf and bay . Breakfast is very good , go a little early as you get the tailored omelets , my son got 3 of those !! Delicious fruit . Staff is amazing especially Alessandro !!! Gracie mile for your recomendaciones in Napoli. Paradiso blanco restaurant was great , amazing evenings with wine and great food . 10 min walk and you take the funiculari to Merginella and see the pier and bay . Metro was closed when we arrived but a taxi to centro is 15 euros for 4 people and you can walk around Napoli .

"Amazing view"
Clare L, 17 Août 2023

Stayed here for 3 nights , booked a multi trip package through tui. Arrived by private taxi which was a surprise. Our room was ready arrived around 1pm. Sadly not a room with a view but very clean well equipped with tea / coffee making facilities. First time for a half board holiday. Drinks were 4/5euro for a soft drink or beer. Menu was the same the 3 days we were there and we're not mad on fish dishes so was little choice for us but what we did have was delicious. Asked reception about how to get a ticket for the fenicular railway and was told to buy a ticket from the shop next door, this was closed. After a while we downloaded the app and managed to purchase a ticket and go to the top and bottom on an all day pass. Stunning view from both. You have to book in advance to use the small pool area. Looked nice but get chance to use it. Best air conditioning we've ever had. Booked a trip to Capri via the hotel as tui information on trips wasn't available(where pickup was and what time ) a taxi picked us outside the hotel and then our guide met us at the port. Brilliant tour thank you to Giusy from world tour who stayed with our small group all day giving lots of information and arranged a boat trip around the island for us that was extra. Well worth it especially the chair lift. Off to Sorrento now for the second part of our trip hotel paco del sole .

"Amazing stay at the Hotel Paradiso. "
G9120CZdavidm, 12 Août 2023

We stayed at the Hotel Paradiso for 2 weeks (26th June – 10th July) and had a truly wonderful experience. Don't let the location on top of a hillside put you off at all. There is a funicular a few minutes' walk from the hotel which makes getting down from the hotel to the marina very easy. The Mergillina train station is only 5 – 10 minutes' walk away from the bottom of the funicular which also makes getting to the city and surrounding areas very easy too. All the staff were amazing, very welcoming, and warm and go out of their way to help with anything you need. The continental breakfast was very tasty with a good selection to choose from. Don't forget though that this is Italy and not back at home where things are done how you want them. The pancetta, sausages and scrambled eggs are sooo tasty if you like a good old hearty breakfast. There are also yoghurts, juices, fruit to name but a few, but also CAKE! Wow……cake for breakfast! Nom nom. The views are stunning from the sea view rooms, so make sure you book one of these, and the breakfast/restaurant/bar area overlooking the sea, marina, Mount Vesuvius and spanning all the way across to Sorrento are breath-taking. The rooms were spotless and spacious with A/C, kettle, tea and coffee and the usual complimentary shampoo, conditioner etc. There is a T.V. but you are on holiday! We never turned it on. There is a pool/solarium here too which you can just chill in the sun and then take a dip to cool off as there isn't really a breeze, so makes it a fantastic sun trap. You MUST reserve this at reception as you may find some people think they can just turn up and use the sunbeds. If you do reserve it and you find people tell you that it's just the pool you reserve…..wrong! Go back to reception and tell them that you have made the reservation. The restaurant The staff are brilliant! Chiro, Ivan, Salvatore, Alessandro, Fabio, Danilo, Marie, Francesco (tall), Francesco (small) are so welcoming and gave us evenings never to forget. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Between my partner and me, we went through everything on the menu. On our last night here, we chose our overall favourite food for tea, but it was very difficult as all were amazing! We would 100% go back and stay here again we enjoyed it that much. Hopefully sooner than later. You all did a fantastic service for us both. Grazie mille a tutti. Abbiamo adorato ogni secondo qui. Dave &n Mel

"welcome, view, food and breakfast"
ALESSIA S, 06 Août 2023

We have already stayed in this fantastic hotel in Naples after visiting sicily and apulia we returned to naples for a weekend The strong point of the hotel is the panorama but not least the food in the restaurant fantastic breakfast with typical products excellent Neapolitan mozzarella all with a spectacular panorama Tidy room with a view of the gulf in the concierge available and kind We will be back again Thank you

"Paradiso Naples"
484yuksel, 24 Juillet 2023

We had great stay at Hotel Paradiso in Naples. The hotel was quite small but as result the service was good. The hotel restaurant offers nice meals on the roof top terrace with a great view of the bay of Naples. Hotel rooms are quite small and make sure to book seaside room as these have balconies. However roof terrace is great place to enjoy afternoon or evening drink. The pool is quite small and you do need to book its use. The hotel is a few miles out of centre of Naples.

"A Naples weekend"
Mike-the-Pike, 20 Juillet 2023

Nothing to fault here but difficult to recommend too. All of the staff were super , the rooms were clean and quiet . The air conditioning worked well too as it was 40 degrees whilst we were there . The cost was in line with many other hotels I looked at but I did not note the difficult location. The local furnicular train does not work after 10 pm and is not that handy anyway so taxis are often needed. Most were 15 euros. Naples is chaotic and I did find it mostly dirty . Understanding the public transport system is tough for a visitor but the trains themselves are high quality.

"TOP RESTAURANT"
Roam40403278003, 24 Juin 2023

xceptional hotel restaurant with wonderful friendly and attentive staff Excellent reception, wonderful room with super view the bathroom is dated and uncomfortable Flavia was kind to us Excellent breakfast with fantastic view very rich and varied buffet delicious tarts and Neapolitan dessert pathiera polite waiters thanks to Danilo and Raffaella Great weekend to go back Thank you

"Great base for visiting Naples"
Sightseer629122, 16 Juin 2023

Stayed for 4 nights with my wife and 3 other couples. Hotel has the best view of Naples and the bay. That's what our taxi driver told us when he dropped us from the airport and he wasn't wrong. The breakfast room view was incredible. Hotel is close to funicular that takes you down to the sea and we used this every day. Bedrooms were modern and clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel if your visiting Naples.

"Good Hotel with great stuff and views"
avib960, 13 Juin 2023

Very nice hotel, very good stuff that was helpful and very nice. Breakfast was ok, could have been better but it's the Italian standard with the traditional pasties. The room is clean and there was free parking spaces outside the hotel.

"amazing!"
Sunita P, 12 Juin 2023

ok get ready to be wowed by the sheer location of this hotel! It is breathtaking views and surrounded by scenic views. The room was beautiful and spacious and lots of light. Downside would be that you will most likely have to take an uber or taxi to get down off the hill as walking to the bottom is the easiest. The staff were awesome but the front desk were not very helpful with directions or locations around town. Not very much information or eve a map to use. The breakfast (not included in reservations) was quite yummy and honestly the views from the restaurant were well worth it! I would come here again in a heartbeat :)

"Great hotel, but limited parking"
IdleBaldy, 07 Novembre 2022

Lovely hotel, spectacular restaurant and terrace views, breakfasts were good quality and rooms clean, quiet and comfortable. We didnt have a room with a view and it didnt matter a jot, the bar and terrace had the views, and the room was used for sleeping. If you are a tea loving brit - be warned there isnt a kettle or cups in the room. Shame the concierge didnt mention the adjacent lift train when we asked how to get to the waterfront, and parking is pot luck on street - there is a local car park, which looked full, scary and very expensive. Would definitely use the hotel again. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Not Great!"
Maria G, 31 Octobre 2022

Whilst the views from the hotel (if you pay the extra for a room with a view) is amazing, the benefits of this hotel end there. The reception staff are the coldest I have ever experienced (and I have worked in travel in various places in Europe). Don't be fooled by the offer of a 'Welcome Drink' on arrival as there is nothing welcoming about it! We were ignored for about 20 mins before being shunted out of the way as there was a business meeting of sorts (drinks and nibbles) taking place. We did try the bar on another occasion and this time were ignored again even though there was nothing going on in the bar. The location isn't great either - there are no Restraunts in walking distance so you would need to eat in the hotel - the food was average - although when we asked at Reception if they had an A'La Carte menu we were informed rather curtly 'Yes but we don't serve Pizza if that's what you want' Because of course English people ONLY eat Pizza - they were just so condescending. I have never experienced such an unwelcoming place on holiday - so if you need to visit Naples don't book this hotel.

"Best view in Naples"
William B, 21 Octobre 2022

Excellent place, reasonably priced with comfortable well maintained rooms, some with views. Top notch breakfast and an outstanding restaurant for dinner. The biggest treat is the outdoor dining and cocktail area with a spectacular view of Naples harbor and Vesuvius. The staff are friendly and helpful. One minor drawback is the location. If you have a car street parking is not a big problem and there is a nearby cab stand that is usually attended. There is a funicular that gets you down to the harbor level. Top notch, this was my third stay here.

"Marvellous hotel"
suzannec301, 10 Septembre 2022

Just recently stayed at the hotel the location was fantastic with wonderful views across the marina and could see Vesuvius For the staff can only say they were so helpful especially Angelo and Flavia in reception who went above and beyond Rooms clean and restaurant was lovely and could sit at night with a drink and look over the bay Only thing is as it is a 10 minute walk down the hill so not really suited to those with mobility issues but most of Naples is hilly - and watch crossing the road drivers crazy

"Amazing hotel"
hazelg782, 05 Septembre 2022

Very posh hotel which is situated on top of the hill with beautiful breathtaking scenic views over Naples. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room had a balcony with a great view, the room itself was spotlessly clean with new towels every day, all essential facilities and a mini bar. The breakfast was good with a varied selection. The restaurant on the roof top was amazing and the food was delicious albeit quite expensive but nice for a treat. It's a bit of a walk to the the sea front and quite a hike back up again but there was always taxi's available if required. We agreed that this is the best hotel we've ever stayed in and we can't wait to go back!

"Wonderful view and location makes it a nice stay!"
Yanik M, 14 Août 2022

I have to admit that the spot/ view makes this hotel worth to stay. In general, the service is ok and reception staff was most of the time helpful. However, if it's a 4 starts hotel is means to offer a service accordingly to its category. However, the breakfast was very scanty and all the time the same. Only once it was switched to quinoa instead of rice. I would expect for this price per night/day to have fresh pressed juice, nuts, seeds, fruits, goat or sheep cheese which are offered plenty in this region, some more stuff for vegetarians or lactose intolerant people which is a normal to find in a 4 starts hotel nowadays. The room was very small but at least it was compensated by a sea view (of course, during the day it's impossible to sit outside because of heat). What I also found inappropriate is that hotel cooperates with the companies which offer either tours or transfer to the airport, but those companies are not professional at all. I was speechless when driver upon arriving to the airport got very angry when I didn't want to give him 5 Euro tipps (it's normal as I noticed during my stay in Campania) for locals to tell you – I don't have an exchange so you apriori gives them more not to waste your time and to get rid of them quickly. This totally uneducated way of treating tourists makes such a negative impression. You give tipps when you feel positive and willing yourself but not when someone squeeze it from you! This point hotel needs to discuss with the owner of this company. Another point which made me surprised is that if me or any other foreigners taken a place in the bar/ restaurant, we had definitely to order to drink or to dine (I was astonished to find a price of 12 Euro for Aperol. Even in Cote d'Azur, Switzerland or Austria it is cheaper). While if I saw a local Italians (tourist) they could stay for long time just without ordering anything. Very strange attitude. Not all tourists are rich, especially when you coming from a war country like Ukraine now:( Anyway, thanks to all, who was helpful during my stay.

"Brilliant but out the way"
AndB1997, 08 Août 2022

We stayed here in April this year, brilliant hotel, excellent views of Napoli, breathtaking! Staff were brilliant and helpful too. Only problems we faced were getting up and down the hill to the hotel, the view comes at a cost! Would recommend using Uber a lot, we tended to stay away from local taxi companies. Other than that, thoroughly enjoyed it, room was brilliant. Excellent location, would love to come back!

"some good some bad. but a holiday is what you are it."
sarahoT1558QX, 07 Août 2022

Myself and my daughter stayed here in july for 4 nights. The hotel is beautiful but a few little niggles we paid extra for a sea view but when shown our room on the second floor we could see straight into a ladies kitchen so would class this as a partial view. The two people on reception were clearly commenting about problems with jet2. We were not told about the swimming pool or where it was. Luckily we knew but feel it's something people should be told. The room was small but lovely with a mini bar, good shower, and a really comfortable bed. chairs on balcony extremely uncomfortable and as we were on a no smoking floor we did not expect to find Ash on our balcony or an unsmoked cigarette between our balcony and the next. The hotel will order you taxis to go to the town which started off fine at about 5 to 6 euros but then the price started going up dramatically, ridiculously so to 13 euros. Did not feel safe in any taxi as they constantly sit or flick through Facebook, WhatsApp etc while driving. The food prices in the town we thought were good value for money. we went for drinks at the hotel the first night and they were hosting an outside event we got seated and we waited 30 minutes before I finally asked for a drinks menu, another 20 minutes before I asked if we could actually order. Didnt drink there again. Tried to book a trip to pompeii as advertised at reception found male receptionists quite blunt and rude told no visit until Sunday after we were home no offer of any other trip no advice on where we might be able to book a trip. In the end we sorted out all out own trips and transport. Booked the pool for an hour one day so lovely there especially just being the two of us and they provided us with towels. Breakfast was good plenty of choice but one day they had no bread for toast which is generally what I have. And one day only one pancake left and not replenished. Naples as a town in my opinion is run down dirty and full of graffiti even on lovely looking monuments. Bins are overflowing everywhere didn't see them emptied once. fag ends on every piece of available concrete. we went on a hop on hop off bus tour good value for money. pompeii ,mount vesuvius and a 3 course lunch with transport amazing. In the end we made the most of it but would we go back? probably not it could be such a beautiful place but the people who live there don't seem to take any pride in it. When leaving we had to pay 8 euros a day city tax which we were unaware of but would like to see it go towards improving litter, bins, clean streets and pavements. Also lots of dogs being walked and bar one no one seems to clear the dog mess.

"Excellent stay at Hotel Paradiso ✨"
Clare T, 26 Juillet 2022

We stayed at Hotel Paridiso for a short break from Saturday until Tuesday. We contacted the hotel before hand who arranged an airport transfer. Our flight was delayed however the transfer was perfect and the driver was ready at the airport to collect us. The airport transfer is short, approx 20 mins. We were delayed so when we arrived the restaurant was closed. However, the very friendly gentleman at reception ordered is a pizza, which was delicious! We had a partial view room on the 2nd floor with lovely views over the bay. The room, although small was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We like a coffee in the morning so we requested a coffee tray which was brought up to us. The hotel is quite out of the way however on the 1st day we walked to the main port which took about an hour and was great to see all the sights Naples had to offer. We had a wonderful day in Capri. The hotel arranged a tour on the 2nd day through World Tours which was excellent. We were collected at the hotel at 7.30am the nest day and had a wonderful tour of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Again, the hotel reception staff were excellent at arranging the tour and keeping us informed. We had dinner both mornings in the hotel which is a buffet style and great choice. We also had dinner one evening in the hotel and again was lovely with a great atmosphere. In summary, Hotel Paridiso is lovely and I would recommend but the best thing about the hotel is the friendly staff and warm atmosphere.

"Spectacular food with scenic views to indulge "
Michelle R, 22 Juillet 2022

The top roof restaurant has spectacular sea views of Naples and breeze coming from mountains. The staff is friendly and polite. The sea bass with creamed potatoes was amazing that I can eat every night. Amaretto desert with limoncello liquer to die for, mamma mia

"Fantastic stay!"
vicki6663, 19 Juillet 2022

Our stay here was wonderful! The room was clean, and towels and bedding were replaced every day! The breakfast was delicious, there was something for both my friend and I to enjoy- one who likes breakfast, the other not so much! The best thing about this hotel for me was the staff. They were so friendly, spoke pretty good English which helped us a lot, and were happy to help us with anything. They were fantastic with organising excursions and booking time for the pool, or even giving us a smile when we arrived back at the hotel after a day out. The views were spectacular- the best we could have asked for. The only downside was the location- on top of the big hill which did take some walking up and down- but we didn't let that bother us too much. Would definitely recommend staying here- but not if you struggle walking too much!

"Best thing the location, worst the location"
jmwsob, 01 Juillet 2022

This hotel must have the best views in all of Naples, the rooms are clean and tidy not too big the hotel staff are pleasant and the hotel is very clean. Breakfast is the usual continental fayre, nothing to write home about. The worst thing about this hotel is the reason for the amazing views, its location. It is on the top of a hill which is a very steep walk down to the waters edge and appros an 80min walk into the city, or an 11-15 euro taxi ride one way. The pavements down to the water must ne the worst I have evet seen, holes where trees once were some about 6 inches deep, cracked uneven paving stones, litter everyehere along with a lot of dog mess and broken glass. The pavements are mainly used for wheelie bins cars and mopeds to park on. The hill down is very steep so if you have mobility issues this hotel is not for you, not even for the view.

"Literally the trip of a life time to Naples Italy"
394randyo, 09 Juin 2022

I must start out by saying words cannot express the gratitude we feel regarding our hotel stay over the week of my 62nd birthday. Every single person we interacted with during our stay, went above and beyond their required duties to ensure we were completely satisfied with every aspect of our stay. The restaurant staff was “over the top” awesome, personable, lovely, giving and so much fun. They made our meal time so special and full of fun and laughter. We took pictures with all of them to remember their wonderful smiles. They have an incredible breakfast spread of many hot and cold food, along with sparkling waters, juices, and lovely pastries. The cappuccino and expresso each morning was delicious. We ordered several different dinner meals and shared with one another each evening. I think we ended up ordering pretty much everything on the menu by the end of our stay. The desserts were magnificent. The Lemoncello-OMG. The hotel desk staff made sure everything was taken care of for us, such as arranging cabs, recommending the best pizza restaurant in Naples, (all the other dinners were enjoyed at the hotel on their roof top indoor/outdoor dining room), ordered our pizza delivery for a late night snack, directing us to the closest ATM right across the street from the hotel, arranged for an all day personal tour of Naples, Sorrento, Positano, the Amalfi coast, and also arranged for our return home COVID testing at the Farmacia the day before. The spectacular view of Mount Vesuvius is breathtaking. We literally spent hours each day sitting in their cozy sitting area with ceiling high windows just taking in the views of the ocean, the cityscape, all the yachts and boats, and especially the Volcano. We already told the manager we are planning a return visit next year. This is truly a bucket list vacation y'all. I want to thank everyone again for the experience of a life time. Can't wait to see each of you again next year !!!

"Wonderful hotel with great staff!"
Gwen R, 06 Juin 2022

Came here for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. Staff was incredibly friendly, sea views from our room and the restaurant are incredible. The pool was nice (make sure to reserve your spot), a good way to escape the heat but still be outside. No complaints about the rooms themselves. Loved having a balcony overlooking Vesuvius, Naples, and the sea. The location is a bit of a jaunt away from downtown and when the cable cars are closed or down (which seems to be often) you'll have to walk up/down the hill (quite the hike) or take a taxi. Just something to be mindful of. It's not super central but for us the views were worth it! The breakfast was great but no meat options if you don't eat pork unfortunately. Did not try the restaurant for dinner as it was very pricey for small portions, but close to great food options just down the hill, recommend 50 Kalò for amazing pizza.

"Terrible hotel that will scam you"
Hailey M, 06 Juin 2022

We were scammed out of money for a taxi to the Amalfi Coast (Positano). The hotel quoted us 110 euros for the transfer by email and said we must book the car upon arrival and check in. However when we arrived the front desk staff made it seem like booking the transfer was very hard (like it should have been done in advance, which they wouldn't let us do) and said that due to traffic the new cost would be 160 euros. They required this be paid in cash to them, and not to the driver; this was weird - normally a hotel just makes the booking and you pay the driver. There was in fact little traffic during the drive (total transfer time ~1 hr 40 min). There was a price card in the taxi that said the trip should be 130 euros flat rate. In retrospect it seems the hotel probably pocketed the extra 30-50 euros. Don't believe the nice photos online. The rooms are actually small and dingy. The breakfast is bad (chewy croissants, watery old scrambled eggs, warm yogurt, etc.) The hallway to our room had dirty carpets and smelled like a pet store.

"xcellent"
ALESSIA S, 31 Mai 2022

xcellent hotel location in a quiet area of Naples wonderful panorama breakfast on the terrace fantastic and plentiful friendly waiters and very helpful excellent food the only flaw uncomfortable room and too small bathroom and swimming pool Reception staff in distress Still a nice stay to return to

Great stay Naples is fantastic we had a nice tour Small room and uncomfortable bathroom not working The terrace fantastic food and excellent breakfast service with very good rich buffet mozzarella Definitely to return

"Great views"
barryh872, 10 Mai 2022

Hotel was clean and had wonderful views across the marina, beautiful. Found breakfast rather poor as the service was slow and inattentive! Rooms were clean and tidy. Bar was shut the week we was there so was a bit disappointed. Staff were helpful most of the time. Generally the area was filthy dirty, full of graffiti with an abundance of dog doo wherever you happened to walk. we found it very chaotic and was stressed at the end of the week. The cab drivers are mental and expensive, we used Uber but still worked out very expensive! That said it was a great experience with some famous pizza experiences and lovely coffee

"Good view if you could see through the dirty windows"
swissdawn, 29 Avril 2022

We stayed here for 4 nights these are my bullet points. We arranged with hotel for a pick up from airport this never showed. Reception found it funny that they had booked it for another month. Passports returned to us after we had seen the room but were given someone else's passports. Room nice big bed very comfy, nice toiletries. Room very dated and very dirty, balcony covered in dust and pigeon Pooh never cleaned during our 4 night stay. Bathroom shower covered in mould. No tea of coffee facilities, no bathrobes did ask was told would be put in room. Never arrived. Very nice roof terrace when we went to sit up there in an afternoon private functions were on and you are made very unwelcome. Breakfast very poor unfriendly staff unhelpful don't speak English, poor selection. They don't offer coffee you have to find the staff and then when you ask someone what you want and you are treated like it's too much trouble. Beware the hotel is miles away from the center 30 euros each way in a taxi there is a little tram round the corner but even at the bottom it's Miles away from the center. We didn't find this out till last day from another resident. Also found out on last day there is a chill pool on second floor you can book to go in but we were not told that either very poor customer service. Reception area was filthy you can't see out of the windows in a morning glasses from the night before are still left on table. We will not recommend or return to this hotel. I always give fair reviews if you check on my profile I am not just having a rant. So much could be done in this hotel to improve cleaning the first step staff training the second step. We booked trips from the hotel these were great but it's an early pick up and breakfast dosent open till 7 am so if you are lucky you can grab an apple a glass of juice and run.

"Amazing view!!!"
243virginiay, 28 Avril 2022

We had had an amazing time at this hotel. The view is unique, every morning waking up with the most awesome view was amazing. The people at the front desk are very friendly, specially Angelo. We had a little problem at the beginning with our reservation and Angelo solved it very friendly and professional. We were with the complete family and everyone had a great holiday. We wish to come back! The rooms with sea view are 10000 points

"Good for being out of the way"
Resort10663003165, 26 Avril 2022

The hotel is lovely. Gorgeous views from the roof tops. I thought on booking I paid for a room with a balcony looking at this view however I was placed on the first floor looking on to a 50ft wall. The room itself I felt very claustrophobic in so only used to sleep and shower and straight out. I decided not to ask for a balcony as on the floor that I'm on your looking over to peoples laundry as another building in front. Would only be able to see the view if you're staying on the same floor as reception. The hotel however is very clean and stunning decor. It is quite out of the way of the hustle and bustle. Perfect if you want that. The breakfast wasn't the best and I ate 2 bread rolls 1 morning out of 5 days. The rest of the days I went hungry till lunch. When asked if toast was available I was told no. When asked if more white bread rolls was available I was told no. Both times with no explanation. The breakfast is fine if you like a continental breakfast however not much choice. The best part of the stay was the reception staff! Very friendly and attentive.

"Amazing view.. but that's it"
Benamard, 19 Avril 2022

The views from the rooms are magnificent! The family room (two rooms with another external door) was very comfortable for a family stay, however the room themselves were smaller than I expected. The TV in one of our rooms didn't work. Keep in mind that the hotel is very non accessible friendly, many steps, and the breakfast restaurant requires many steps as well. Breakfast itself was very basic, even lacking hard boiled eggs, and not so fresh, we even received cream cheese with mold on it. The staff serving us breakfast was nice and helpful. The next day we simply skipped it. The garage across the street was goos and costs 25€ a night. I have been through many BW hotels during our 3 weeks trip through Italy and this was by far the lowest quality one.

"Highly recommended. "
GavinJ367, 11 Octobre 2021

The hotel was fabulous. Very comfortable in a great location with a wonderful view. Good value for money. Very welcoming. The staff were outstanding. So friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

"Nice hotel with some horrible rooms"
agnès l, 07 Octobre 2021

Nice hotel, fantastic views from the restaurant but my room was like a basement with one very small, very high window next to a wall and on earth level because of the slope, so extremely dark, quite claustrophobic and unsafe, I could not make phone calls or browse internet on my phone as it did not work because it was such a cave ! The hotel's wifi did not work most of the time and the breakfast was mostly already packed food

"I would only recommend staying here for the view"
871fahima, 22 Août 2021

The hotel looks great from the outside with a spectacular view looking down on Napoli city. Skybar and Restaurant has limited food and drinks, they are also a bit pricey… Staff members in the reception and restaurant were really rude, slow and not helpful. The man in reception was sitting down having social gatherings with his friends and not interested in making the customers happy was really not impressed with the service.

"Beautiful city"
Modesto128, 27 Juillet 2021

Amazing hotel. Incredible staff and catered to their guest. Great restaurant and great scenery. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Not too far from downtown Naples. Great shopping and restaurants

"Amazing View"
TahirS188, 27 Septembre 2020

Fantastic experience in Naples and at the BW Signature. Probably has the best view of the volcano in the whole of Naples. The rooms were large and spacious and provided ample space. Televisions were a little outdated but barely any time was spent in the rooms. The breakfast area was a dream with the food and view

"We will be back"
Baciccia_Riou, 16 Août 2020

The view from the terrace is fantastic, the same if you have taken the sea view room. the gulf of Naples, the islands fill the eyes. The excellent breakfast and the helpful staff with the typical Neapolitan sympathy. What can I say ... perfect. Wanting to find a flaw, ... and making an effort, perhaps the rooms have not very modern furnishings ... but the merits win over. Near a minute walk secure parking. We will definitely be back

"Fantastic"
Jude549, 27 Juillet 2020

From the minute we stepped in to the hotel we were overwhelmed with the spectacular scenery, that we were met with upon our arrival. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff especially Francesco were also extremely helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to assist us. The rooms were spotless clean and very modern.I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend to others.

"The place to stay"
Lady Y, 19 Janvier 2020

Highly recommend this hotel even though it's slightly outside the town. Nothing is too much trouble to staff to meet youy needs. Fantastic, view of the Naples bay. Breakfast is plentiful and cooked fresh.

"Bellisima!"
F4458SYtinac, 30 Décembre 2019

We only had one night in Naples - so I picked this hotel for the view - and was very pleasantly surprised that it was so much more!! We arrived early and the room was not ready - so we were invited to go upstairs for a complimentary drink to wait! The view was indeed spectacular and the staff were all welcoming and helpful. It was toward the end of our trip to Italy, so we rested and had our meal at the hotel restaurant - and were delighted with the food and service. They arranged our trip to Pompeii for the next morning and stored our luggage until we returned. A quick trip this time - but we will be back! Grazie Hotel Paradiso!

"Come for the View! Stay for the Staff (most)"
923karenld, 11 Novembre 2019

Wow! We were upgraded at check-in to a room with balcony and full view of the bay and Mt. Vesuvius, after I told the desk clerk that I had lived a 5-minute walk away "molti anni fa" (many years ago, when my father was stationed in Naples), and that I was excited to be back in the neighborhood. You walked into our room, raised the shade and -- boom! Just breathtaking! We arrived early, so waited for our room to be finished, seated in the rooftop terrace/bar area, treated to free cappuccinos. The room was clean, comfortable but not large. Bathroom with shower (large head), bidet. Bed comfortable. Pillows a big flat/hard. Free wifi, tv. Breakfast included in room price was very good: Good variety of food and beverage in roof top restaurant, wait staff very pleasant and accommodating -- and there was that view again :) It was still sunny and warm in Naples in mid-October, yet the hotel turned off the a/c system after our first night there. Front desk staff arranged for us to have a floor stand fan in our room for the rest of our stay. It made all the difference. Public transportation is accessible but a bit more limited than ideal: You take a funicolare between the via Orazio station (less than a 5 min walk from the hotel) and the waterfront Mergellina area to get a bus into the main part of town. Of course, you can also walk along the waterfront, which is delightful. (The main negative issue we had with staff was that the bus the front desk staff recommended to get to Piazza Municipio, didn't really go there. By the time we were able to get off, after the bus turned to backtrack but went through a tunnel, we were a bit of a hike from where we wanted to be.) The hotel is easily reached by taxi, and they're metered, which is good.

"Definitely not Paradise!!"
Shannons2ndact, 11 Novembre 2019

If i could give zero stars I would. Only good part is the view. Not up to US standards. Normally I would never stay in a BW in the United States but I was hoping that being a US hotel chain overseas that it would be a better option then some other places. This place was horrible! Do not waste your money on this hotel. First of all the view is nice and the lobby are nice. Any good things to say end there. Hotel is old and in desperate need of updating. Rooms: A/c in our room did not work and the entire room smelled of mold and mildew the entire trip. We had to have the AC on full blast along with an open window or we would have sweat to death. Water and mold stains everywhere. Water smells like sulfur. Also They also decided to do construction on the room next door to us one morning. I recorded a video or the drilling sounds that went on with no warning for more than 2 hours before we finally left to do some shopping bc we couldn't take it anymore . The entire room shook and vibrated and we couldn't even hear the tv or phones. Food: The pics of the restaurant don't look anything like that in person. So old, dirty and needs updating. The view is the only thing that is accurate Location: This hotel is far from everything. You have to either take a train, taxi or bus to get anywhere. We would take the funicular down to the Mergellina and then walk about 30 min into the main area of town. Would never stay here again nor would we recommend to anyone ever.

"Thanks"
jonsonfranch, 01 Novembre 2019

We were missing in this hotel for a long time we had difficulty welcoming us and offered a welcome drink on the terrace while waiting for the room after a long wait they gave us a small wall view room with no air conditioning and noisy ...... we have been around beautiful naples .... dinner at the hotel restaurant was fantastic as well as excellent service and great food breakfast on waking up excellent and varied thanks to the restaurant staff .. thanks to alessandro who served us a good drink already welcome with fantastic appetizers ... thanks to you soon

"Losing its special charm"
RioLucy, 26 Octobre 2019

When we stayed here in 2013, we felt this hotel far exceeded our expectations - in service, quality and of course its remarkable situation. It has a superb, sweeping view across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. As my review from that visit made clear, we felt we had discovered a gem - somewhere characterful and different - despite the hotel being part of the Best Western group. Thankfully, nothing can detract from the hotel's spectacular location - but in other respects, we were disappointed this time. Where once there were colourful rooms - gold and blue - reflecting the vibrancy of the city, now everything is grey... and just like a thousand other identikit hotel rooms around the world. The rooms remain clean and comfortable - just dull. Some of the longer serving staff have the old charm, but otherwise, there was a lack of warmth and attention to detail. Interestingly, the public areas of the hotel still retain some colour and character. The roof top restaurant is a totally missed opportunity - it could be one of the most attractive dining spots in the city, but again, looks rather more like a works canteen. We only ate breakfast there this time - it was nothing special and staff were conspicuous by their absence most of the time. The terrace is a great place to have the welcome drink which is offered on arrival (sometimes) - and the drinks came accompanied by some delicious freshly-prepared nibbles. The hotel is well located for walking down to the Mergellina harbour and into the city - there is also a funicular nearby to take you up and down - it runs until 10pm. This hotel is perfectly comfortable and adequate and no doubt we will stay there again if we return to Naples - for the view, for its location - but we left feeling a little sad... it is losing its special charm as the juggernaut of colourless, characterless hospitality evidently rolls on!

"Great service and views at Hotel Paradiso"
Christopher J, 20 Octobre 2019

Hotel Paradiso is on Posillipo Hill with great views of Naples bay and Mt Vesuvius. The funiculare is just below (or going down) and above (for coming back from) Mergellina neighborhood. Outstanding breakfast buffet, excellent service at the front desk, and very nice restaurant.

"Poor customer service lets this hotel down"
681CraigT, 18 Octobre 2019

Despite the cost I felt let down by this hotel. First of all despite booking a standard room (not cheap!), the bed and room was no more than a single size. There was a single room option when I made the booking, so God knows how small that room is! It was clean and functional however. The food in the restaurant is of a good standard, but generally most of the staff I encountered (reception and restaurant) were grumpy and surly! I felt guilty asking them anything as they looked so put out. Sorry aren't I the customer? A smile wouldn't go amiss. The main selling point of the hotel is the view of the Bay of Naples from the restaurant and terrace. I won't be staying at a Best Western hotel in future I'm afraid.

"First night stay in Naples"
iolite85, 13 Octobre 2019

This was the most expensive hotel of our stay as was meant to be a treat for my birthday. I can't say I was too impressed. The view was amazing but you could get that from standing on the road. The room was clean and comfortable. However the parking was not included in price of room and was an additional charge of €18. The location was handy for walking into Naples in the afternoon and evening. There is a cable car that brings you up so far but we missed opening of the booking office 20:00 by 10 minutes so had to walk all the way up again. Definitely not as pleasant as the walk down! Breakfast that was included was alright. Cappuccino was good though. So given everything I rate this as average as there was nothing to write home about.

"The necessities and not much else"
samimo91, 30 Septembre 2019

Very American hotel found in Naples. Fairly small without a real bar area or many amenities with the exception of the restaurant. The restaurant food was good for dinner but very small as they held dinner in a small room while a private party went on on the very beautiful open-air patio. Tried to get a drink between meals and was ignored by waitstaff. There is only 1-2 places within a quick walk; if you want to get to the center of town you need to walk a good 20 minutes. The hotel does have beautiful views of the gulf!

"No Paradise"
ericancz, 26 Septembre 2019

Not at all the caliber of hotel it claims to be. It looks nice from the outside and inside the lobby but that's where it ends. This was our worst hotel experience of our trip to France, Italy, and Greece despite being the best rated/most expensive hotel of our trip. Thankfully, we were only there for one night dealing with the following issues: - Slow/long check-in process - No usable outlets/plugs bedside (only 1 in the main room and 1 in the bathroom) - Uncomfortable bed - Impossible to navigate shower with inevitable leaking - Towels smelled strongly of cigarette smoke to the point that they were unusable - Rooms service food was horrible. Overcooked and charred with the taste of a grill that hadn't been cleaned in years.

"Excellent hotel"
Brizzie1, 24 Septembre 2019

We had a two night stay here on 9th & 10th September and found the hotel lovely. The staff without exception were friendly and helpful. The views from the roof terrace of Naples and Vesuvius are amazing. The hotel is approx a three minute walk to the funicular station which takes people down into Naples which cost very little. We would return to this hotel, for us it was great.

"Incredible view but........"
Math1966, 22 Septembre 2019

Perched on a cliff overlooking the whole bay of Naples, this hotel has the wow factor like few others. The service in the restaurant areas by Gerardo, Alessandro and Francesco is what outstanding hospitality is about, many could learn form these three individuals about how to make a customer feel spacial and valued, they were superb. The rooms are clean and comfortable but do not be missed that your "sea view" will be exactly as described, any room on the 2nd and 1st level will have your view obscured by the block of flats in front (see photos). The restaurant has an incredible view of both the bay of Naples and Vesuvious however for the three nights we stayed, access was limited due to private functions. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection, the chef certainly knows his stuff. A couple of the reception staff should look to their colleagues in the restaurant to lear how to respond to customer feedback in a proactive and positive manner. Wifi is poor in strength and connectivity. Overall our stay was positive but mainly let down by episodes of poor customer service

"Worst hotel experience in all of Italy"
DgalCO, 15 Septembre 2019

We had one night left in Italy and needed to find a hotel close to the Naples airport. This place was advertised as close. I emailed them to ask about parking as we had a car and also how far from the airport. The email provided is a non-functioning email. I went ahead and made the reservation online as we were short on time and pictures looked good and reviews were decent. They had a hotel restaurant so figured it was a safe bet, it's just one night. *read my review on hotel restaurant...the worst dining experience in all of Italy as well. We checked in and the lady at the front desk was just average on friendliness. The man working next to her seemed to either have a strong dislike for his job or Americans (maybe both) based off his body language towards me. Our room was tiny and we referred to it a "bunker" but seemed clean enough (see pic). After having the worst dining experience in all of Italy at this hotels restaurant, (this hotel and the restaurant provided many "firsts" for us in Italy) we returned to our room to find insanely loud music coming from just outside our window. We laid down and tried to sleep (had to be up at 4:30 AM) but to no avail. My husband walked down to the front desk to ask and the rude man (a different man than the one upon check in) at the front desk said it was a house party and not coming from their (empty) hotel bar area. I then called down and asked to switched to another room after we tried to tolerate the music but was not able to sleep. Interesting how he suddenly pretended to not speak English anymore and kept asking, "the music is coming from your room?" Seriously? Um, no, for the 4th time it's coming from outside our window. Again, he pretended to not understand though my husband had just spoken to him 10 minutes prior and he had a clear understanding of the problem. We ended up moving rooms at midnight which was more quiet but not before I discovered that drinks in our mini fridge had been half drunk and put back inside the mini fridge. I tried to relay this to him as well but as he desired, I just gave up because I was tired, frustrated, he wasn't helpful and we had to be up in 4 hrs. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. It isn't as nice as the pictures indicate the carpet is old and dirty, staff is not friendly or helpful and they had a "I don't care" attitude towards paying customers. I also do not feel it is in a safe place if you wanted to walk around (though there is literally nothing but apartments around the hotel). Also, don't expect to have the amazing views they boast about from their hotel restaurant as they will not allow you to sit outside if there is the least amount of a breeze (which is to be expected when on top of a hill). Save your time and money and find another place. It is not close to the airport either. At 5AM on a Saturday without any traffic it's at least a 30 min cab ride and much longer if driving yourself.

"Nice Hotel ,"
colmac_1, 15 Septembre 2019

Just returned from staying two nights at Hotel Paradiso as part of an Italy tour, nice hotel with a great view of Naples and Versuvius. we had a room facing the back , would have liked a sea view, breakfast was okay nothing special, the bar area had lovely views but needed attention to the cleanliness, also I think they are missing a trick in not offering snack food . you need the little railway to get down to the sea front , but that is quite interesting to take and easy to use so dont be put off.

"Beautiful view across the bay to Vesuvius "
Fotun8, 14 Septembre 2019

My wife and I stayed here for one week. The views if you pay for a superior room are breathtaking. The hotel can arrange taxis to take you to the town a good walk €12 or you can use the local funicular €1.16. Come out of hotel turn right then left up the hill 400 meters or so past the chapel to the station. The staff at the hotel are all very attentive and the room cleaning is carried out daily

"Great hotel with breathtaking views"
Discover48368, 12 Septembre 2019

Couldn't ask for a better place to stay on our first visit to Naples and Italy. Friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and amazing panoramic sea views. We arrived late in the evening from our flight, so we were really tired. Luckily, the check-in was quick and we were able to drop our baggage off and make our way to the terraced bar to get a fantastic view of the bay of Naples which we've read all about. The staff also helped us book on the tours to Pompei, Vesuvius and the Amalfi coast - a bit pricey but worth doing if you get the chance. Thanks for a great stay and thanks again for my complimentary birthday drink which went down a treat!

"The Best View in All of Europe!"
17603Traveler, 11 Septembre 2019

This is our 3rd visit to this hotel. We are from the U.S. and have traveled to over 50 countries around the world. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING TO ROME, IT IS WORTH A DETOUR TO COME TO THIS HOTEL! This is one of the top hotels in all of our travels. The hotel manager obviously knows how to hire and train the best staff for customer service. The doorman, the housekeepers, the desk staff were all top notch. The manager came across the street with me one morning to the bank to explain what transaction I needed as I was having difficulty explaining it. The restaurant on the top floor served a wonderful breakfast buffet with the most incredible view. Alessandro announced he would be taking care of us at breakfast - and yes he did! We had Alessandro's special cappuccino and other treats he brought us such as fresh orange juice. He made our day start so positively. At dinner, Francesco announced he would be taking care of us - and again - yes he did! He served us a typical Italian dinner that is so hard to find in the U.S. at this quality level. We had Prosecco before the meal, then wonderful dishes over the evenings we dined there. Then after watching the sun set, we had delicious desserts with Italian liquors as a digestive. Francesco made great food and wine recommendations and we got a high value for our cost. Again, we felt this was the perfect experience that was provided by the restaurant staff. I read another review that the taxi prices were more if the desk phoned, NO, we did not find a difference in prices coming or going to city center. We previously paid the lower room price for a standard room and this time we paid extra for a room with a view. We just sat and enjoyed the view during the week stay. We saw the moon rise over Mount Vesuvius and reflecting across the Bay of Naples. If you have a standard room, you can lounge in the well appointed areas near the desk with floor to ceiling windows and enjoy the view this way. This hotel is well worth a visit and we will be returning again.

"Great view of the bay"
andrewdna, 07 Septembre 2019

The view from this hotel is amazing. Only issue is the restaurant food was poor. Due to distance from the sea front it's a long walk if you've been exploring all day. Leaving your options very limited up there. We found small portions, came out cold and paid for the steak one night that was just fat and gristle. Noticed also staff were less friendly in the evening. In the morning and at breakfast they were a lot friendlier. The room was cleaned well each day. No complaints from this side of things. Hotel overall was nicely presented. If your looking for a quiet place to stay with a nice view, then this is a great option. Just be prepared to walk or use taxis often.

"Wow!"
Karen W, 06 Septembre 2019

Stayed at this Hotel for 7 nights and I can't fault it for anything. The Reception staff were very helpful. The Restaurant staff were top class. Alessandro was amazing. Geraldo,Daniel at al. Fantastic service. Comfy room. Great food. The view was to die for. Paradiso it certainly was. Panoramic views of Mt Vesuvius and Naples day or night. I highly recommend this Hotel.

"Hotel with what must be the best view in Naples"
Ian B, 02 Septembre 2019

Level 3 or 4 sea view rooms will take your breath away, as will dining or sipping an aperitif on the roof garden. Rooms are clean and comfortable with good wifi if somewhat Bijou. Breakfast could be improved but you wont go hungry Only downside is Hotel is out of the city a ways

"Amazing Hotel with a great view of the Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples"
carmelinadge, 20 Août 2019

This hotel is a gem, it has spectacular, unobstructed views of the Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples. Tonight we watche the moon rise over the majestic Vesuvius while we had dinner on the terrace. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I can't say enough about Alessandro and the concierge Domenico, who made it possible to stay here over the past few days. Their professionalism, courteous manners and genuine willingness to be of help has made our vacation in Naples a memorable experience. Thank you!

"Nice"
Vanessa W, 13 Août 2019

The staff and the views are great. We had the buffet breakfast which was good. Compared the what we're used to in North America, there wasn't much verity, but I think that's common in Italy. The supper we had was also very good at the restaurant and staff was superb! The rooms were nice, we had a family suit with views on the ocean which was gorgeous. A few complaints I do have is that one of the rooms smelled like smoke. It clearly says non smoking but people smoked in that room and my kids and I hated the smell, it was imbedded in everything. We were located right under the bar, which was crazy loud until the wee hours of the morning. And lastly, the beds were not comfortable at all. Everything was hard, from the mattress to the pillows.

"Special thanks to receptionist mr. Dominic"
Lona A, 11 Août 2019

Amazing stay at this hotel. Especially a special thanks to Mr. Dominic working at the reception for the professional and good service. Also nice clean rooms, with a nice view and location. Comfortable bed.

"an amazing place to stay"
Kirsti E, 22 Juillet 2019

this hotel is fantastic. we had a room on top floor so had the best views. all the staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful. they really made us feel at home and welcome. i;ve been home 24 hours and miss it already. can't wait to go back. special shout outs to alessandro (makes the best coffees i've ever had), francesco, danilo (very attentive waiters) marcia and angelo on front desk. (and others whose names i don't recall)happy to give advice and help book trips etc. i forgot to pack a few things (hairbrush etc) and went shopping for bits on first day, if i'd read the guest guidebook first i would have realised that they could provide everything i needed (including painkillers after a night of too much limoncello)

"Great Spot for Naples"
crissie-g88, 12 Juillet 2019

Naples is a unique place and not the most glamorous. This hotel is the perfect location to see Naples. The service was amazing, the hotel facilities were wonderful and the garden roof terrace provided breathtaking views of Naples. We only stayed one night in Naples as a stop over and we really loved the hotel. It has a great balcony with lovely views. We were luck enough to have this on the third level of the hotel. I am guessing not all rooms have this view so I can comment on that. The room was small but the tv was big and the bed was comfortable.

"The pictures are not necessarily the reality"
Abelard B, 06 Juillet 2019

Great view while you are at the lobby but not from your room. Far from downtown and quite complex access to the hotel. Expensive parking away from the hotel property. Our room mostly offered the view of a big roof from another apartment building. Small room and quite claustrophobic. I am not recommended this hotel.

"Weekend in Naples"
Pollok1, 22 Juin 2019

Excellent hotel in a beautiful location. Rooftop terrace has amazing views of the bay of Naples. Staff very helpful and rooms very clean. The only bad thing is that it is a long way from Naples City Centre.

"Great location and stunning Views"
Am4407, 22 Juin 2019

We have just returned from a four nights stay at this small but very decent hotel. I booked on other reviews and the location looked suitable for our trip. i have to say it wasnt a dissappointment at all. The location, high on the hill above the Marina may not suit all, depending on your trip and where you plan to visit, but we certainly didnt find that to be problem. The Hotel. Set high up on the twisting roads above the marina bay, and opposite, directly, Mt Versuvius, whether the sun is beating down, or at night, you wont be dissappointed with the views. Our room was on the 4rth flooor to the left side, and you could see all around the bay, from the town centre on the left to Capri way out to the right. A small balcony offers a lovely place to relax, and watch the surrounding views, and very quite considering all thats going on around the town and bay. The rooms are small, but comfortable and the bathroom, although small, is all you need in my opinion, with a shower sink and enough room to move around in-between. Dinning. Although we only had dinner once as we wanted to get out and enjoy all the other nice places to eat, the food was of a high standard, with an interesting menu of fish, Octupus, other shell fish or Steak pasta, and the usual youd expect from an Italian hotel. The staff are attentive and kind, even if its a struggle to cross the language barrier at times. The restaurant is inside adn ajoining that is the roof top sitting area come bar. Again, the views from that part of the hotel are just stunning both at day and night, so perfect place to relax after dinner. That said, it would be if you could use it all of the time. A few evenings we returned from dinner and could go out there because they had private parties and other things going on. I accept that a hotel will have functions going on, however, guests shouldnt be refused access to the hotels best asset, its where you want to be after a lovely dinner to chill and enjoy the views and warth weather. may be a point worth mentioning. location. it is a little out of the town centre, and the local public transport is much harder to get your head around as opposed to Rome or other large cities in Italy. We used taxis which arent too expensive, and there is also a cute little tram/train that runs from the top of the hill to the bottom for 1.10 euros. It only has four stops and takes minutes togetup or down to the bay. The views are worth booking alone, and when the weather is as hot as it was, you can see for miles, with the Volanco looking over the entire city, gives a massive though to the whole Pompeii thing.! tours. Speaking of Pompeii, that one of the many attractions you can book from the hotel, and there are pretty reasonable for the prices, depending on your budget. We booked a Pompeii and Vesuvius tour for the day with pick up for 130 euros for the two of us. What i will say, that doesnt include entry tickets, or the added fees that magically appear while your on the bus, so be aware and check what you are paying for. The pick up on the mini bus was a great idea, however, theres a common sense factor missing from the tour company, world tours. I have done a seperate review on that. They pick up at 0730 in the morning, fine, but then we spent the next 2 hours driving around Naples picking up from 4 or 5 other hotels in the terrible Naples traffic. Thats 4 hours of your day on that bus at 30 degrees, not great, but not the hotels fault either i guess. To sum up, a lovely hotel with great view and nice rooms, and a warm feel to it, and certainly worth the stay. We would certainly book it again if we were to visit `naples. Tips. 4th floor sea view room for that stunnig Balcony view from your room. Try and book your tours, trips in advance, they are busy in the summer months.

"Great hotel, beautiful views, wonderful customer service..."
KDfromLosAngeles, 12 Juin 2019

Rooms are spacious and very clean; the bar area has a magnificent view; our waiter, Alessandro, was amazing...Breakfast bar had lots of variety....Check in was easy and fast... Front desk was good at giving details about the area....

"Amazing location and roof top!"
Pigalle1966, 02 Juin 2019

The roof top terrace is amazing and overlooking the golf. If you can get a sea view room in Level 3 or 4 you also will have great views. However, the rooms are not sound proof so expect to hear people coming back from going out or if you have a young child in the room next to you… Be also aware that you need a cab to go to town.

"Stunning view rest a let down"
Karen K, 26 Mai 2019

Stunning view across bay and of Vesuvius from our balcony and restaurant. Not very clean huge amount of dust on floor and on surfaces. Staff not very helpful didn't even give us a local map until we asked for one. Long walk to front and main tourist attractions.

"THE absolute finest hotel in NAPLES"
auburnSECTIGERS, 25 Mai 2019

Our recent trip, been home 2 days, was made more excellent by the staff and management of this hotel. I had no idea what to expect when we booked or arrived. I was pleasantly surprised by the continued professionalism of EVERYONE we came in contact with. A SPECIAL shoutout to the RESTAURANT STAFF, Allessandro, AND THE FRONT DESK, names escape me. But all were great. Now for specifics: the hotel it self, is located on the coast directly across from the mountains. The view, as seen in the photos is incredible. The rooms are extremely nice, they even gave us an upgrade on our second visit prior to leaving Italy. The beds were comfortable per ITALY standards, not USA standards tho. The television was ok, but not much for American viewers. The highlight was the RESTAURANT FOOD AND SERVICE. Our waiter ,ALLESANDRO was absolutely fantastic. As were others too many too remember their names. They ALL made us feel welcome and right at home. KUDOS TO THE MANAGEMENT. Bottom line is: would i return? YES Would I recommend? ABSOLUTELY TES. i WAS IN ITALY for 23 days. I toured ALL of Italys finest places and ate in some really good restaurants. I stayed in some nice hotels, BUT NONE EVEN CAME CLOSE TO THIS ONE HOTEL BW HOTEL PARADISO. i HOPE TO RETURN NEXT YEAR AND SEE MY NEW FRIENDS AGAIN.THANKS FOR READING.

"Fantastic choice"
TomBombadill, 23 Mai 2019

We had a fantastic time in the hotel. It's the perfect location, close enough to town but far enough for quietness. The view is absolutely breathtaking. The staff is extremely nice especially Alessandro! Highly recommended.

"Outstanding Service and Comfortable Rooms"
Veteran101st, 21 Mai 2019

One of the best views in Naples and a treat to stay at with reasonable prices for the room. Staff, from reception to maid cleaning the room were outstanding and always going above and beyond to help.Room and with view was a bit small by American standards but kept clean.Had a mini bar too.For the rate, service, and food this is great value. And not in downtown where traffic and people are crowded in. Wi-Fi was very erratic on the 2nd floor.Best reception is on top floor.

"Fantastic!"
gemma_highfield, 18 Mai 2019

I have just returned from a short stay here and I cannot fault it. The hotel has stunning views but what makes it are the staff who cannot do enough for you. They go the extra mile to make sure you have the best stay in particular the restaurant staff especially Francesco he was my favourite. The food is great, rooms are clean, food is nice and the views are stunning. Would highly recommend and will definitely return

"Jaw dropping views"
Elly A, 13 Mai 2019

Although out of town, the trip in the Funicular or the Walk are well worth it. Went there with a friend for my birthday (not recently) but was an amazing trip. The staff are kind and respectful. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the breakfasts contained a lot of choice. We had adjoining rooms with a door which closed off the corridor making our area like a mini suite. We also had a balcony, but as the Floor was a lower level, the view was impeded by the buildings opposite. . Bathrooms cleaned every day to a high standard. Trips were easily booked at Reception. But the main thing is the View. As you enter the Hotel you step down into Reception and a huge picture window ahead of you gives a stunning view across the Bay towards, Vesuvius and Pompeii. Up on the Roof Terrace, which is also used for Weddings, the outside space with a massive vista across the Bay with endless blue seas takes your breath away. Would definitely consider staying here again.

"Tired "
BuckLanders, 08 Mai 2019

Will start with a positive, view from the restaurant is beautiful. From there it all goes a bit downhill. My room was small, Aircon was broken and totally ancient. The bathrooms have been refurbished and are good. Rest of the room is tired, view was a brick wall, and bed rock hard. Found the staff abrasive. Also the breakfast was probably one of the worst I've seen. Choice so so poor for a hotel like this. There are much better hotels than this in Naples and I shall not be returning.

"Just Ok"
rajarshipanigrahi, 02 Mai 2019

Stayed there just recently with family, hotel is a 3 star quality. Carry ur own luggage while checking in is a kind of welcome u would receive. Staff were more or less kind and submissive. Restaurant food was optimal nothing extraordinary but does the job. Room provided was claustrophobic without any AC. Would like to search for alternative for my next trip. This is a very old hotel with BW rebranding.

"Probably the best view in the area...?"
preben k, 20 Avril 2019

A well preserved pearl in the Naples area with the best view of bay of Naples and Vesuvio. It is almost impossible to find it without a GPS in the car but it is worth it. Half of the room (a slightly more) is faced toward the walls of the back of the hotel and that is a shame to have one of these when you're staying at Hotel Paradiso. The staff are friendly and have always a smile to share. So if you're planning a trip to Naples you should really think about this hotel. They have a good restaurant - not the best - and if you don't want to eat at Paradiso it is a short walk to the local funiculare down to the seaside where they more choice of restaurants.

"Good Return"
briglia f, 15 Avril 2019

I returned to this hotel for work I had a good welcome Noisy room not well cleaned we could hear women cleaning in the corridors excellent breakfast and dinner super friendly and professional staff Thanks to Francesco and Rossella

"Breathtaking Views and Friendly Service"
kayteetravels19, 08 Avril 2019

Stunning views, clean and comfortable room, gorgeous food and treated like royalty. Ugo and another lady in reception (sorry I can't remember her name) organised return transfers for us and provided us with information on the nearby spa, transfers to Pompeii and local places to see. The restaurant was gorgeous and the staff went out of their way to make it a pleasant experience for us. Although we felt the breakfast could've had a bit more variety overall we had a fantastic 2 night stay and would recommend it to anyone going to Naples for a weekend getaway!

"Fantastic hotel"
Charliemousey, 08 Avril 2019

We stayed here for two nights to explore the city. This hotel was fantastic, check in is usually in the afternoon, the hotel organized a car to collect us from the airport. We arrived to the hotel at 11am and they gave us a room straight away. We didn't have a sea view room, the hotel gave us free breakfast each morning and a complimentary drink in their upstairs bar to compensate us without us asking. I didn't go to Naples to look out the window of a hotel so we were quite happy with this. All the staff spoke perfectly English, they organized transport back to the airport for us. They also booked us a tour, we did the Pompei and Vesuvius tour, this was €10 cheaper than I had seen advertised on trip adviser. There are parts of Naples which I wasn't comfortable walking through, it appeared to me to be quite a poor city. The hotel is up at the top of the cliff side, there is a cable car which connects to a metro to bring u down to d marina, we couldn't find it and happily walked. A taxi back up was €10. I would definitely return to this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, there's a hairdryer in the bathroom and a mini bar in the room. Breakfast was continental, meats, cheese, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, teas and coffee, pastries also. Thanks for a great stay, (the pic is the view of the volcano from the terraced bar )

"Quick getaway to Naples"
tonya7598, 15 Mars 2019

The hotel was amazing we had a lovely clean room, with an amazing view and the staff could not do enough for you from check in to check out everyone was superb, breakfast was amazing the only downside was having to get the funicular down to the sea front but once there the walk into Naples was fantastic very pretty and breathtaking

"A gem"
jandJ556PD, 05 Février 2019

Excellent location, wonderful views over the bay of Naples, perfect for a stroll up the hills overlooking the city. Rooms as from the 2nd floor up have superb panoramic views and a nice terrace. Friendly and helpful staff. A place to come back to!

"Amazing view and great service!"
Arip455, 11 Décembre 2018

The view on the whole gulf of Napoli is breathtaking, definitely worth a sea view room! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Domenico who was just perfect during my check-in on a late evening. Keep it up!

"Terrible customer service for refund"
Mike K, 06 Décembre 2018

Despite booking well in advance and paying for a lovely balcony view, upon arrival we were given a basement room, at the rear of the hotel, with a raised window and the view of the stone wall! After three months and numerous phone calls and emails, we still haven't received the one night refund we have been promised from the hotel.

"I travel frequently to Naples for business, my FIRST choice of hotels is ALWAYS the Hotel Paradiso - Napoli."
Shadi D, 05 Décembre 2018

Hotel Paradiso, in my opinion has one of the nicest panoramic views of the city of Naples - Italy, Naples bay/port,and the Vesuvius mountain. I congratulate the management of Hotel Paradiso - Napoli for their excellent and professional team in particulare: Receptions team - Mr. Ugo, Mr. Angelo and Mr. Mimmo ,and Ms. Maria Chiara. Restaurante team - Salvator, Allesandro and Francesco Room Service: Ms. Lia

"Oh the View the View !!!!!"
twankey, 30 Novembre 2018

The best thing about this Hotel are the views from the sea facing rooms . Truly Magnifico!! You can see the bay of Naples Sorrento , Capri .Vesuvius,. Yes its a little off the beaten track . There are Taxis which cost 6e to Mergellina the local town area and 20e to Naples (one way). There is also a Funicular that will take you down to Mergallina but this wasn't working whilst we were there. Restaurant food delicious if a little over priced ,Staff Very Helpful. Tea and Coffee in room , Free safe, free Wi Fi . Rooms not big but clean and adequate with a king size bed changed daily. Brilliant Thank You TIP DONT drive in Naples its MAD!!!!

"Outstanding views from bay facing side of hotel"
McTours-Ltd, 25 Novembre 2018

I have stayed at two Best Western hotels in Naples; Hotel Paradiso and the Hotel Plaza. Each have merits but in my opinion the Paradiso is the one to book if you want outstanding views across the bay of Naples. Be warned though there are rooms to the rear and they have no view so if a view is important to you be sure to book a room with a balcony with view. Also note that these are at the rear of the hotel as you enter. The front faces the street and the hill is terraced so the back is the side with the views.

"Beautiful views, excellent restaurant staff!"
ladonnainitalia, 14 Novembre 2018

Hotel Paradiso, and our room, has stunning views of Napoli, the Lungomare and Vesuvius. The breakfast was good, and the wait staff, particularly Alessandro, was amazing. Alessandro speaks just a little English, but is so focused on making you feel at home and addressing your every desire! The property is beginning to get a little worn - by American standards. To get those great views of Napoli, the hotel is situated on the far side of the bay atop a hill. Getting down is easy enough, but the climb back will be daunting for some and a taxi is anywhere from 18-25 euro one way. Moreover, taxi drivers tried hard to take advantage, always demanding more money than was shown on the meter. Hotel staff were helpful but somewhat abrupt - maybe it's the Napolitano way. The hotel is a good value but not if you need/want to make multiple trips throughout the day; the taxi fees will devour you budget. Also, we were there in a low season but traffic is HORRIBLE in Napoli. One trip on a Saturday evening to the hotel from the city center took nearly an hour!

"Nice view But not enough "
Mrwhu, 11 Novembre 2018

We booked in to this hotel for the weekend and I got to say the view from bar and restaurant was stunning but unfortunately that's all it has . If your room isn't on the top floor your view is of apartments and some old girl cooking in the kitchen which was a let down . This hotel Is miles from anything up a massive hill, we walked to the castle on one occasion and took us just over an hour to get there . After that we used taxi cabs everywhere but spent the best part of €300 on them there not cheap and none have there meters on ( best to use hotel taxis ) . We did eat once in the hotel restaurant and the wife said that's the worst pasta dish she has ever had . Rooms are very clean small but basic and if honest we was hardly ever in the room . The waiter of a morning was fantastic very funny and exceptional at his job . In all I wouldn't revisit this hotel again though would get one more central .

"Brilliant break in the sun"
Wander43447936918, 07 Novembre 2018

We recently spent a week at this hotel and would definitely stay there again. It has a stunning location overlooking the Bay of Naples with amazing views from the rooftop bar and the restaurant. There was plenty of variety for the breakfast buffet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, special thanks to Allessandro, Francesco, Gerando and Lie, you all helped to make us feel so welcome, not just paying guests. For us the hotel was well located for sightseeing as we had the benefit of the outskirts of the city location with the convenient transport into the city itself. We loved buzzibg about on the funiculars and the subway, and the daily ticket, which can be used on all forms of transport, was excellent value.Thank you to all at Hotel Paradiso for lovely memories of a brilliant break in the sun.

"Mould"
Thenannytraveller, 27 Octobre 2018

from arrival to departure the only thing that lived up to the hotels name is the view, which is spectacular. We arrived and had to manhandle our suitcases down steps. We get to our room and it smells of damp. We went back to the front desk to ask for a change of room and before we could state why, or indeed asked why, the answer was NO. There were patches of mould on the ceiling, mould in the bathroom, the ventilation fan in the bathroom doesn't work, and had some kind of stuffing in it. The restaurant food was very bland and over priced, and staffed by some of the most arrogant male staff I've ever come across. Just to top it off, room 201 is right next to the lift shaft. So if you're planning to stay call ahead and ask not to be put in room 201.

"4 Day Mini Vacation"
Michael R, 25 Octobre 2018

I spent four days at the Hotel Paradiso in the middle of my vacation. Hotel is located up on a hill with an incredible view of the Gulf of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. Breathtaking! Three meals a day are served in the rooftop restaurant with an outdoor lounge area. Staff is amazingly friendly at every level (registration, bellmen, housekeeping). Restaurant staff remembered me and my preferences each day. Incredible stay! Hotel is not close to the city center, but with that view and the marina a short walk down the hill, it was fantastic.

"Far from downtown but amazing view"
bartyra p, 18 Octobre 2018

We enjoyed the stay at BW mostly because of the quiet neighborhood and the amazing view. We were offered to add breakfast for 2 Euros a day per person. The breakfast itself is was a week but the coffee and cappuccino pressed in-house were really good and worth it. The bar is great and they offer delicious bites with a wonderful view. The room we stayed were noise in the morning, we could hear the stuff walking on the roof floor probably setting up breakfast. I would stay there again.

"Arrivederci!!"
BarbaraH16, 15 Octobre 2018

On our arrival in Naples we went straight to the hotel via taxi. Check in was quick and pleasant when we got to our room we were surprised to see how small it was, yes the view was amazing but the room was tiny. Very clean and comfortable bed and good pillows. No English channels on tv only CNN. The bathroom was minute, the shower door measured approximately 18 inches wide again everything was very clean but very cramped. We were hungry so decided to see what we could get int the hotel. There is only a restaurant with no snacks just meals £15 for half a bowl of pasta with tomato and a sprinkle of cheese, again it was very tasty but come on. No bar only a rooftop terrace, no pool, nowhere to sit on the sun. Breakfast was a joke coffee from a machine, juice from concentrate from a machine, cereal, jam breads. Scrambled eggs not even warm and hot dog sausages chopped in half. We did notice the Italians getting different treatment on more than one occasion, getting coffee made for them from the kitchen and fresh juice. The waiters were constantly asking for tips, and can't even raise a smile. The rooms are very very noisy non stop horn pipping and sirens, TVs, and people shouting. The reception staff were very nice and always available to help. It was at least a ten minute walk to the funicular to get down to the front up a very steep hill. At the bottom there was a small selection of bars and restaurants but again the service not good and always looking for big tips. The city itself is very crowded, noisy, dirty dog poo everywhere and you always had to be on your guard for pick pockets. We have travelled to a lot of places all over the world but I have never experienced anything like it in my life. Needless to say we won't be going back. Viva Mexico!!!

"Amazing views"
Corleyweld, 01 Octobre 2018

We were given a room on the third floor with a small balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples, the room was clean, the bed comfy with nice bed linen and the view was fantastic. The restaurant was up on the fifth floor and the lift only went to the fourth leaving a winding flight of stairs to get there, not too good for people with limited mobility. Having said that, the food was very good indeed and with a bottle of house wine the bill for two courses for the two of us was about 90 euros. There are no other places to eat in the area so it's a taxi ride or take the funicular down to the waterfront for a pizza. The Metro (line 2) from Mergellina takes about 20minutes to get into Naples itself, runs frequently and is efficient. We bought a 3 day Artecard which allows entry into 2 museums and all travel on public transport, this proved to be good value for £18.

"Room not from 4 stars"
briglia f, 01 Octobre 2018

I stayed at this hotel in August on arrival poorly friendliness and did not know what room to give me having booked a room with a view I was assigned a room with a view of the wall telling me that the day after I would have given the room with a view we spent three days in that small and uncared for room and it's incredible an error of the kind poor professionalism excellent restaurant service fantastic breakfast and kind staff on the terrace I enjoyed the fantasic view of Naples

"Amazing hotel "
nadia B, 26 Septembre 2018

This hotel made our napoli visit one of the best experience. Very good location .10 mits drive to all the attractions . The view is a breathtaking . The rooms are renovated and spotless clean. We have enjoyed our stay and definitely go back there again !

"Awful"
PaulWat67, 13 Septembre 2018

Staying at the hotel until Sunday and we have been allocated a room right below reception it is very noisy as you can hear every footstep every trolley suitcase and even the doorbell going at 3am. Yes the hotel has wonderful views and the food is good but the tiny pokey room counters heavily against this.

"Napoli experience"
Charles G, 07 Septembre 2018

Paradiso is a must if you enjoy good views from your room, good food for all meals, cleanliness, staff that are friendly and helpful especially Alessandro in the restaurant. You must book a room with a sea view. Location is quiet but on the edge of everything else. Avoid taxis and use public transport which after a few days will become easy to use. Naples is amazing but littered with rubbish and dog poo.

"Che vista!!"
DDebbyy_Bo, 31 Juillet 2018

this hotel deserves five stars just for the wonderful view. our room was excellent, clean, great view and nice TV. very good restaurant , maybe the price was a bit 'high, but still very nice...see the sunset on the sea...

"Deceiving."
Moaningmadge, 27 Juillet 2018

Booked this hotel after seeing the amazing views, which it did have. We had problems checking in. We paid for 2 rooms with balcony and sea view and only received one at first. Was told they didn't have another, apart from a tiny box with a small window. I refused to take it and eventually got changed. Hotel quite small. Breakfast ok but they are not quick to refill empty trays. We asked a waiter several times for different items and they never appeared. Staff were ok. Cleaning staff were miserable though. The bar area is deceiving. I expected a nice open air bar to be able to sit and enjoy the sunshine, but it is all under cover. There isn't anywhere to sit outside, apart from one balcony, off the reception area with 2 chairs. We booked a great Almafi tour through the hotel which was great. There is nothing at all in the area, not even a shop. There is a 15/20 min walk down to the centre, where they are some restaurants and bars. Some quite nice pizza places. Naples itself is very noisy and dirty. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to friends, unfortunately. It wasn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but just nothing appealing about it. Yes, the views are good but think you would get same views from any Naples hotel. The funicular railway to get down to Margellina is reliable and cheap and easy than walking and cheaper than a cab.

"Great views"
steveaslett, 12 Juillet 2018

Really nice hotel, great views, friendly helpful staff. The only down side is it's a cab ride into town with very little to do / see within walking distance. The hotel restaurant has some of the best views in Naples, though is a little expensive

"Great location. Excellent service. Lovely hotel. Go for it!!!"
Divya A, 10 Juillet 2018

The location is way beyond expectation. Go for a room with sea view or partial sea-view. It's a beautiful boutique hotel. The rooms are small but clean and the view is to die for. The breakfast area is so beautifully set. The staff is cordial. They even provided us free breakfast service. Transportation is a little issue from here and it's better to take a taxi to go downtown. Although taxi to train station Centrale costed us 30 euro. Taxi's are not that expensive here. Breakfast spread is limited but fresh. I would definitely recommend this place. As the other areas in Naples are dirty and graffiti all around. The areas near the Centrale station are totally spoilt. This area is clean and view is amazing.

"Superb view; excellent dining; iffy location"
DrDavidKJ, 07 Juillet 2018

We found this a great hotel, comfortable, with helpful staff. While the room/suite was beautiful and comfortable, and our evening dining was excellent (great seafood and beef options, with best view in Napoli) there are a couple of issues: the first is that the breakfast was poor - the attendant service seemed uninterested, some of the options (eg yoghurt) were very cheap, and the egg/sausage/bacon was poor. More importantly, the trade-off for the view is expensive accessibility to the front/beach and city. So if you want to walk down from the hotel to the beach then it is a 20+min descent, along a very busy, scary road. The return walk is serious. Taxis are readily available, varying between 6E and 15E one way to the Megellerina Port area (which is not the most fragrant). To push along the front, or into the city obviously costs more. You should factor this into the costs, something the hotel obviously doesn't advertise. They do direct you to a bus route - walk 5min uphill, then cheap to go down BUT in our experience completely unreliable. In summary we would probably look for better if we returned (and to be honest, given the mess that is Naples, who would !!!). Note this hotel does not have a pool: the closest safe option is Beach Elena, 12E per day each (plus the cab!). On balance, this hotel has some great features, but it is lacking in other attributes.,

"Average hotel with a good view"
AnushreeSingh, 02 Juillet 2018

We stayed there in the month of June. The hotel has undoubtedly a fantastic view and is also centrally located. What I did not like about the hotel was the staff- especially at the restaurant. After a warm Italian hospitality in Roma and Tuscany, we found people here to be a bit rude. The breakfast spread was a complete mess- probably the only hotel in the world which does have a toaster. Also the juicer was broken on all the days and servers did not really care if it was working or not. Coffee was almost always cold. Also, the terrace was so dirty even early in the morning that you wouldn't want to sit there for breakfast. Overall very unsatisfactory. With the given location and the property I am sure the hotel can do so much better. If you can skip this hotel, then might as well.

"Short weekend break"
darbs2000, 28 Juin 2018

Stayed at the hotel for a 3 night break with my wife and daughter, from the moment of entering to leaving we knew that we had made a great choice, the staff were fantastic and welcoming with special thanks to the reception for taking time to assist us on our trips, the restaurant staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for them. Breakfast was very good with a good spread of dishes and the one time that we had dinner there it was very nice, rooms are clean and tidy as you would expect and ours had a fabulous view across the bay to Vesuvius. Yes it is a little way out from central Naples but this gave us a great opportunity to explore this wonderful city away from the tourist traps, you would be surprised how much cheaper items are away from Sorrento ect. All things considered this was a great hotel in a fabulous location. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again myself.

"An adequate hotel in an off centre location with only good views to redeem it"
DaveBridge, 21 Juin 2018

This hotel is not really suitable for tourists without their own transport. To reach the metro you have a 5 minute uphill walk to the funicular and then a ten minute walk to the metro. The funicular stops at 10.00pm. Taxis cost at least least 10€ to go one way up or down the hill. There appeared to be no good restaurants in the vicinity and the hotel food is just adequate. The breakfast also is only adequate. It would not in my opinion be rated 4 star in most of Europe. The so called double (but only one person can move around the room at a time), comfort rooms are very small and the shower room miniscule. There were no views from our room. Beds are comfortable and housekeeping standards high. Room maintenance is only average (leaking basin plugs, unreliable mini security safe, squeaky wardrobe doors.).Good wi-fi.

"Good Hotel Stunning Views"
987familyof4, 19 Juin 2018

We booked for 4 nights, the hotel itself is lovely standard of cleanliness is very good. We were allocated a room which overlooked the court yard the room was very dark also felt very claustrophobic which was a little bit disappointing, We booked the hotel because of the beautiful views from the outdoor terrace restaurant/bar area the only problem is this is also used to host wedding receptions, so on two occasions we were kindly told we were not allowed in, so basically you have to sit in reception and have drinks to which we were not very pleased, Breakfast overall was good but there was no toaster, we were also not aware until our last morning that we could have omelettes, also special cappuccinos.

"Good hotel, fantastic view!"
Paul G, 19 Juin 2018

This hotel is perched on a hill above the city of Naples. The view from the foyer is wonderful - looking south towards Vesuvius, Sorrento, Capri, the city and virtually the whole of the Bay of Naples are laid out in front of you. It's a view you will never forget!

"Wonderful views!"
hertsBabs, 16 Juin 2018

Went here in May for two nights for my friends wedding. Unfortunalty are rooms had a view of a little court yard , lovely little bird cage but when you have a position and great view this hotel has to offer it was a shame not to have it

"Stunning Views and location"
MissAtlas, 15 Juin 2018

Checked in here last night and we have a full sea view room with balcony which is well worth paying the extra for the , fantastic views over the bay to mount vesuvious. Great wifi in the Hotel. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent quality food. Staff friendly and helpful so far ... Cable cars are a great fun way to travel and nearby, will update at the end of the stay...

"Total indifference "
LotsaTravelGal, 10 Juin 2018

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights at the end of our Italian trip and unfortunately it was not a great end to an otherwise wonderful vacation. The views are good and although our guest rooms did not face the sea, we spent some time in the restaurant where if you are lucky to be seated by the windows, they really are incredible. The rooms are tiny but adequate and should everything be in working order, quite well appointed. The staff however were completely indifferent. Not unpleasant exactly but disinterested in offering any assistance and it seemed to be an inconvenience to them if we requested help with a taxi or tried to order a drink or really spoke to anyone at all. We are NOT high maintenance travelers. Just have basic requests and expectations that if something (like the safe in the room) is not working, it is fixed within a reasonable amount of time and we are not made to feel it is an inconvenience (it never was remedied). Unfortunate as this could be a nice little retreat from the outside chaos of Naples but when you are not made to feel welcome, the experience is very disappointing.

"Location +/- s"
mktprof, 06 Juin 2018

If you are comfortable taking public transportation, this hotel offers a welcome respite from the craziness of Napoli. From airport, take bus shuttle to train station and then metro to Mergellina (Line 2) come out of station, turn right down street about 5 blocks to the Mergellina funiculare and take this stopping at S. Gioacchino. Out of station, take right down hill a block, you'll see hotel on right. To get to almost anything you must walk and take the funiculare because taxis are expensive from this hard to get to location. But the views, safe location, value and service are worth it. Restaurant serves a good breakfast (free) and though expensive, absolutely exceptional lunch/dinner.

"a comfortable hotel"
ladygolfer19, 05 Juin 2018

We stayed 3 nights and were given a room with lovely views of the bay and Mt Vesuvius. the situation is not in the centre and requires one to take a funicular down to the waterfront and then a train to the centre. We also walked along the waterfront and into the old town, a long walk but worthit. Rooms are comfortable and the food in the restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner.

"Lovely hotel overlooking the Bay of Naples"
Robert S, 28 Mai 2018

I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Paradiso for 3 nights. I was very pleased with my stay. The breakfast provided had excellent food and the dinner that we had our first night was excellent. The rooms are clean and kept up. Everyone in the staff was friendly and would always greet us. I would like to say that Domenico at the front desk went out of his way to help in every way to make sure that I had everything I needed. He knows how to make sure the hotel runs properly and that the customer is able to get what they need. The hotel is a great choice and the terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples was a real treat.

"Average hotel with good views"
NT1989, 26 Mai 2018

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in May and thought it was OK. It is located away from the centre of Naples (which we preferred as the centre is hectic) and the hilly location means the hotel has amazing views of Naples, Vesuvius and Sorrento. The funicular down only costs a couple of euros and from there you will find restaurants and bars and also the stop for the hop on hop off bus. We had a partial sea view room and it did have a lovely view but was tiny - probably the smallest room we have ever stayed in. The walls were very thin and the plumbing system seemed quite old as it was very loud and you could hear other rooms toilets flushing! However, it had all you needed with a comfy bed, storage, mini bar, safe etc and was OK for a short stay. The staff were a bit mixed - some were really helpful and some were quite abrupt. We had a deal with Secret Escapes, which was supposed to include a few extras, but we had to remind them of this a couple of times e.g we didn't receive our bottle of prosecco and had to ask for it on our second day and on check out we had to remind them that we had a restaurant discount as we realised we had been charged the full amount and the receptionist seemed really put out and gave no apology. The bar and restaurant are on the top level so have amazing views but we received mixed service. The bar staff were good but the restaurant manager in particular was quite abrupt and not friendly at all. We visited for dinner and the food was delicious but pricey. Breakfast was good and included the usual breads, meats, cheeses and pastries etc. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you get it for a good price, particularly for the views and the relaxed location.

We had a lovely time at this hotel! Rooms were great, views fantastic, breakfast was very nice (would have like fresh fruit tho), dining meal was a favorite of our party. Danielle and staff were charming.

"A beautiful view but that's all"
mickathy, 18 Mai 2018

My friend and I visited this hotel for three nights recently. The view from the public rooms is outstanding but everything else was very extremely disappointing. With the exception of a lady called Daniella on reception, and one waiter, the rest of the staff (all male) were unhelpful, miserable, and arrogant. We were told on our arrival that there weren't two rooms available on the same floor but after I found the shower in my room was broken, I was given a room two doors away from my friend. Our 'Comfort rooms' were situated at the rear of the building overlooking the concrete supports of the cliff face ten feet away. My friend 's shower flooded the floor (faulty seal) and the toilet in my second room wouldn't flush properly. The second room was also beneath Reception, which has a tiled floor. I was kept awake until late by the noise caused by people walking through there in their stiletto heels. There were private functions in the dining room/garden terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples on two evenings and we were made to feel very uncomfortable when we asked for a table on the terrace. We were obviously not welcome and although we were given a table, the waiter was rude and tried to clear the plates before we had finished eating. We considered this to be very wrong as the Hotel sells itself on the view and we felt that the staff were trying to deprive us of this facility in favour of the non-residents, even though that is what we had paid for.

"Magnificent views"
Donna M, 15 Mai 2018

The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. It is wonderful sitting on your balcony in the afternoon looking out across the water. The restaurant has beautiful food and the waiting staff are very friendly. The area is not that great it is a fair way from any shops or other restaurants and quite run down looking.

"A Perfect Stay!"
Elio R, 13 Mai 2018

I stayed in this hotel recently for almost two weeks and everything was exceptional. I am a strong believer in the “sense of arrival,” and indeed, since the first day of my stay the hotel staff made me feel welcome with a smile! The staff at the front desk, in the restaurant, and in housekeeping always made sure that everything was right during my time at the hotel. Breakfast is wonderful with a bountiful buffet, an omelet station and every morning I enjoyed the assortment of local pastries and a fantastic cake filled with cream and wild strawberries. Great double cafe lattes too. For dinner, my guests and I enjoyed appetizers representing the local cuisine and delicious meals. Wow! The view of the Bay of Naples and the stunning sunrise make it difficult to leave the hotel for the daily activities. I want to add that the Business Center was in a great location, very convenient, and I could do my work every afternoon. The hotel is located not too far from downtown and the commute is very easy. A colorful Funicolare with a small fare took me down the hill to the touristic Mergellina by the sea. From there is very easy to reach the shopping center of the city by foot, bus, or taxi. I highly recommend this hotel and will return soon with my wife to spend more time in this picturesque city.

"Very nice"
Joel W, 09 Mai 2018

The hotel is very nice. Rooms are a little on the small size, but nicely appointed. The restaurant on the top floor has great food and both the hotel and restaurant have very polite staff. The restaurant is a little spendy but not over priced for the quality of food.

"Fabulous view over Bay of Naples"
ajwt57, 09 Mai 2018

We booked this hotel for its fabulous view - knowing that it was not in central Naples - and we were so glad we did so! The view across the Bay from our third floor balcony was breathtaking. The view was also spectacular from the roof terrace (where we enjoyed drinks in the evening) and the restaurant (where we had breakfast each day). The choice from the cold buffet every morning was extensive - and we could also have omelettes made to order. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. We used the funicular railway to get up and down the hillside from Mergellina and made full use of the Campania Artecard to get round the city, the surrounding area and to visit many of the local attractions. We would happily go back again.

"Excellent"
Scott A, 03 Mai 2018

Recently stopped here for my 19th wedding annevisary and I can't recommend it highly enough. The hotel is in a nice area and although a little bit out of town the views are amazing and also very quiet at night which is a rare thing in most Italian cities. It has a fenecula railway on the next street down from it which is only €1.10 and takes you down to the seafront where there are a load of restaurants if you want to stay local but the main railway line into the city centre is only a 5 minute walk from the fenecula. The train into the city take 10 minutes and again is only €1.60 and although I had read a lot about Naples being rough and dirty at no point did I feel unsafe and the streets are massively busy with loads of families, so there is obviously no more of a safety issue then in London or Newcastle. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help and make our stay as smooth as possible. On arriving with our friends our room wasn't ready but our friends was and they brought us out complimentary drinks while we waited with an assortment of cooked hors d' oeuvres. The rooms were very clean and although not very big are more than what was needed with air con, full electric shutters and a mini bar. I am not sure why people always demand such huge rooms when you should really be exploring the area you are visiting. The restaurant area has amazing views as does the lounge area near reception and is a great way to start your day. The breakfast is your normal continental but there is a chef making fresh omelettes every morning on request and although I never asked for anything other than what was on offer they were so accommodating I suspect they would have made anything that was requested. There was an abundance of cereal, pastries, fruit, cold meats, yougouts, tea and coffee and fresh juice. The waiter also went out of his way to make us his own athuntic "Italian" coffee. At night time the restaurant was again excellent with the staff offering advice on the best local wines which were on the whole cheaper and far nicer than the more expensive branded wines. The quality of the food for the price was outstanding and again with the view it would be hard to drag yourself away with the staff being on hand. Re the staff they were outstanding and I found everyone of them to be polite and happy and mentioning SSC Napoli and speaking a little bit Italian goes along way. As mentioned it was our wedding anaversary and our friends mentioned this to the manager and they made us a cake which was a very nice touch and was also amazing and went down well when we shared it with some of the other guests. Also every taxi driver informed us this was maradonnas favourite hotel when he is back in napoli so if the worlds greatest footballer stays there!!!

"Beautiful"
Donna M, 01 Mai 2018

The Best Western Paradiso is fantastic. Breathtaking views of Vesuvius, Bay of Naples, the Egg castle. Add amazing staff and Paradiso lives up to its name. The restaurant is wonderful too. We have a room with balcony and partial view. Couldn't ask for more.

"Amazing view from the room!"
seppohakkinen, 09 Avril 2018

We booked a sea view room; it is worth every penny! The only problem was that I woke up early in the morning to see the sun rising over Vesuvius! Front desk personnel are nice and helpful, a pleasure to deal with! Our room was adequate size, clean and most importantly equipped with tea maker :D The hotel location half way up the Mergellina funicula with 10 minute walk from the San Gioacchino stop is suitable for reasonably fit people. There is a 10 minute walk from the bottom of the funicula to Mergellina Metro station. From there you are in the centre within 15 minutes using Linea 2. Public transport is excellent and cheap. A week's ticket is only 16 Euros and it allows you to travel in Napoli, to Pozzuoli in the west and Vesuvio/Ercolano in the southeast.

"More a budget hotel and a good hour away from main city centre and main port"
leesbees_uk, 30 Mars 2018

If booking this hotel through Secret Escapes, I can assure you it most certainly isn't a luxury 4 star hotel ideally situated to the city. In fact, by the time you walk to the finnicula then to the metro, it takes a good hour to get to the main centre. It states its directly above the port, but the main port is in fact the other side of the fort that you can see from its amazing views, yes, if you are in the restaurant or on top floor only, otherwise you get an old building completely marring the view. Rooms are very compact so the photos have been cleverly taken. Rooms directly under reception are noisy and they do also allow pets so be prepared to hear yapping dog barking which at also allowed into the restaurant!

"The view...and the breakfasts... to die for....!"
JRD32, 25 Mars 2018

We booked this hotel for a three night stay through the Daily Telegraph 'Secret Escapes' online, having first checked trip advisor of course!! Took the airport bus to the port, then bus 140 to Mergellina, then the funiculare - which all went very well. As soon as we walked into the hotel it felt welcoming and we had coffee and pastries served in our room. We were in room 414 with the most spectacular view of Naples and Vesuvius, we even slept with the curtains open so that we could see it as the sun came up in the morning! Bed very comfortable, good linens and towels. Bath a little on the small side but shower good and hot. Usual shampoos, shower gel etc. Kettle, mugs etc but bring more teabags as these aren't replenished. Bought milk in supermarket as only minute cremas are stocked and not replenished. Small fridge in room which is very useful. The most amazing breakfasts each morning: delicious coffee served at the table, yummy omelettes that you order, freshly squeezed orange juice, mouth watering pastries, yoghurts, honeycomb, meats, cheeses...the list goes on!! Yes, it is a little far out of central Naples but actually it helps to be a way away from the chaos as Mergellina is more calm and has good restaurants and bars (Twins is excellent) for the evening. Very efficient staff throughout our stay, with Danielle standing out as the most warm and helpful on the front desk - thank you for a truly lovely stay, the hotel made our trip a great one!

"BEAUTIFUL"

"March 6, 2018"
Peachtravel, 06 Mars 2018

What a terrible experience. Thinking a four star hotel should have decent service and rooms was a wrong assumption. First, dinner.....risotto was way under cooked. While guests around were getting bread and wine service we had none. Trying to flag down a server for wine was futile. No excuse. Upon entering the room, the disappointment continued. The air conditioning was broken, as well as the light in the bathroom. Nothing like showering to your cell phone light. Such a shame, as mentioned the views are nice but this is certainly not the only hotel in Naples! So very disappointed. Never again.

"The best hotel in Neapel!"
33FrequentTraveler33, 03 Mars 2018

We were initially planning to stay only one night in Neapels, but felt impressed with Best Western Hotel Paradiso so much that decided to change the plan and extended our stay to 2 days! Everything at the hotel is great! But the best is staff: they all were very attentive and helpful. Once we entered hotel lobby - we felt at home thanks to extremely friendly, helpful and charming Dominique, Angelo & Maria Chiara! Thank you so much! Thanks to the staff's recommendation we discovered the best pizza in the world! - 50 Kalo restaurant is just 10 min away from hotel. Dominique, you made our stay: every time we talk about Naples, we think about you and your extremely entertaining style and hospitality! You are such a unique hotelier! Special thanks to you! Hotel also has great location: wonderful views of the harbour, especially very romantic views at night from hotel roof terrace (or from window, if you have sea view room) overlooking lights of harbour!

"What a view"
Karen P, 26 Janvier 2018

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of January and enjoyed a great break. The airport is about 20/25 mins away and we easily picked up a cab outside the airport costing 25/30 euros. Check in was very quick and efficient and we were shown to our room on the 3 rd floor with a sea view, wow what a view of the bay of Naples and Vesuvius, we spent a lot of time enjoying the view. The room was an adequate size, bathroom maybe a little small but you just shower and go! Room was very clean with storage and mini Bar and a safe and tea facilities. It was cleaned everyday and towels changed when needed. Hairdryer and mini toiletries in the bathroom and the shower was great. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit , cereals, rolls, cake, eggs , bacon and freshly made omelettes with the best view over the bay whilst eating. We didn't eat in the restaurant. The hotel staff were very helpful when we asked questions about getting around etc and always greeted up when coming in etc. The hotel is slightly out of town and we were glad it was as it gave us a chance to relax after busy days out . It is up a hill which took us about 15 mins to walk down, we never walked back up!! There is a funicular railway a couple of minutes from the hotel, walk up the hill a tiny bit, it only costs Euro1.60 for a return trip, you will need change for the machine or you can get tickets from the kiosk during the day. At the bottom of the hill there are plenty of restaurants to your right or to your left and one street behind the seafront. You can easily take the train into the centre from about 300 yards from the bottom of the funicular or if you don't mind a walk you can go around the harbour and up. We took the train to a Pompeii for 5 euros return, takes 55 mins, a nice ride along the coast, Pompeii is well worth going to. If we go back to Naples we will definitely stay here again

"Best view ever"
Diana M, 04 Janvier 2018

You have to make sure to get a room with balcony and double window in front of Naples gulf and then enjoy the best way to open up your eyes in the morning. The hotel is nice, staff is kind and helpful. Room service breakfast absolutely!

"BEST SERVICE!"
Jacqueline V, 10 Novembre 2017

We stayed at Hotel Paradiso for a few days after visiting the Amalfi Coast! To our delight the hotel staff was amazing to us. They helped with booking a tour of the area and were FIVE STAR! The sun terrace and restaurant are not to be missed.!! It overlooks the beautiful marina and the food, service and cocktails are the best I've ever had.

"Horrible place"
Rangely A, 09 Novembre 2017

We spent 21 days in Europe and from all the hotels we stayed at this was the WORST. They do not know what service is. Staff is horrible. I have never being treated like this in my entire life. Never going back to that hotel again. Very beautiful view but I rather have no view than being treated like they do in that place. Just go somewhere else if you want to be treated as a guest and not as an animal.

"Grazie mile"

I was very happy to stay again in that hotel. no doubts i will return on my next trip to itay. everything was just perfect and the price/quality is best ever. arrived late night and check in was done in less than 5 minutes..

"Fabulous Hotel With The Best View In Naples"
Jetsetter21456932, 21 Octobre 2017

First off, Naples city center feels a bit like being stuck in rush hour traffic in a busy suburb - this hotel makes you feel relaxed and happy, sitting above the hustle and bustle with hands down the best view in all of Naples. The breakfast overlooks the bay of Naples, opposite Mt. Vesuvius and the Almalfi coast. Moreover, some of the rooms (such as the family room, which we booked) also have views from the rooms. The service is excellent, with many of the staff wearing shirt jackets and ties all the time, much like the old world Casablanca charm. The hotel is a one and a half hour drive from Sorrento the the Amalfi Coast, and is a great location for exploring both Naples and the Amalfi Coast, for half the cost of staying at a hotel in Sorrento or Positano. Highly recommended hidden gem in Naples.

"Safe Base"
Jacqueline E, 15 Octobre 2017

From the moment we arrived at this hotel we were delighted with the service and friendliness of the staff. We had booked a Comfort Room which didn't give us a sea view but was clean and safe, and had everything we needed. In fairness we could see a tiny bit of the Bay of Naples through a gap in the surrounding buildings. The view from the dining room and the roof terrace across the bay was truly stunning, and it was a great spot to unwind over a beer after a days sight seeing. The bar service was friendly but not invasive. Breakfast was included in our package and offered a good choice of both hot and cold food, certainly enough to set us up for a days exploring. We did have dinner in the restaurant on one occasion which was very good and not ridiculously expensive. We hadn't booked a table but were accommodated without any problem . The hotel is located some way out of Naples but the funicular which is a short uphill walk from the front of the hotel is an easy way to get to the seafront and from there it's a relatively short walk to Mergellina metro station which allows access to both the city and Pompeii and Herculaneum at a very reasonable cost. I must mention Daniela on reception, she was unfailingly friendly and extremely helpful to us when we were planning a trip to Sorrento. All in all this is a great base to explore Naples and the surrounding area . Should I be in Naples again this would be my first choice of hotel. Thank You.

"Great view, everything else poor quality..."
MikePullin, 11 Octobre 2017

The sole selling point of this hotel is the view across the bay of Naples. Staff are ignorant, food quality is extremely poor and bordering on wierd (cold pizza for breakfast). There is no bar and the rooms are tiny, some with no natural light and ours had a tiny bathroom. There is a 20 minute walk down broken pavements littered with dog excrement to get to the tired sea-front with a poor choice of restaurants. The hotel is also an hours walk to the nearest decent area of Naples (the castle).

"Wow! You really can't fault this hotel"
janetdbarker, 08 Octobre 2017

I'm staying at this hotel atm, how can you not want to wake up to this sunrise each day. The staff have been super friendly and have answered all questions asked of them. Yes it is outside of Naples but for Euro 12 you can get in to the heart of town. I am so pleased I picked this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and will be coming back!

"Fantastic Views"
Sykes_Family10, 26 Septembre 2017

Early 50th Birthday Trip. Bottle of wine brought to room on arrival. Had asked for sea view room on 4th floor, which we were given. Lovely room, good size and fantastic view across the bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Hotel situated on Posillipo Hill. Staff and maids all very helpful and well presented. We ordered taxis at reception on quite a few occasions which arrived within a few minutes every time. Good selection at breakfast, especially liked the freshly made omelettes. Ate at the restaurant first night, lovely food. Mainly seafood dishes, so not as much choice if you're not a seafood fan like me. We would definitely return to the Hotel Paradiso should we visit Naples again.

"Heavenly view!"
Franco and Luci... F, 24 Septembre 2017

Stayed at hotel Paradiso for three nights to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The rooms are clean and modern and beds very comfortable. The breakfast and restaurant food was good and all the staff very friendly and helpful. However, the crowning glory of hotel Paradiso is the magnificent view of the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. It was mesmerizing and is what I loved most about this hotel. I will definitely come back again.

"Good views, nice staff."
aadavi, 22 Septembre 2017

The first night was terrible. We were given the wrong room 3 times and had to really complain to get the room we had booked. But the staff were really good about the situation and did sort it as best they could. The rest of the stay was very nice and peaceful. The cleaning staff are really lovely, as are the front desk staff. The views are really lovely. The breakfast was a bit basic, but enjoyable still. I wont go back to Naples willingly, but if i do i'd stay here again.

"Wonderful view"
Jettski30, 20 Septembre 2017

We had a balcony room with a beautiful view of the bay, the room was nice with very comfortable beds. The hotel is located near the marina and we took the cable car down to get there which is close. The only downside was upon check in the clerk was not friendly which surprised me as we have stayed at several BW in Italy and never had this experience, other than that the other employees were nice and accommodating.

"Great hotel and location!"
Jeff G, 20 Septembre 2017

We had the family suite and it was perfect. Amazing views and a short cab or walk to the city. Great service too! Food in the restaurant was lovely also. I would recommend using a cab service and not the hotels valet as its quite expensive.

"Dungeon cell"
Doheya, 14 Septembre 2017

I ONLY give this hotel one star for it's lovely roof top bar/restaurant. Everything else is terrible. If you do risk staying here PLEASE ensure you request a room with a balcony, if not you will be staying in a dungeon cell. The roof in our bathroom started leaking, the air conditioning does not work, rooms are tiny and beds are only decent. It is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The view while beautiful (the view is basically only available from one side of the fourth floor) is not worth the treachery of staying in squaller (especially when you actually pay for this garbage). Don't pay money to stay here, beware of this place.

"Disappointing "
Anthony P, 02 Septembre 2017

The receptionist was surly. Couldn't have been less helpful. We then tried the bar and the staff in the bar were also less than helpful. We were told where to sit by a very rude waiter and also told we wouldn't be able to say long because they had booked the place out for a wedding. The TV signal is weak and the picture breaks up. Were it not for the view it would be a disaster.

"outstanding view of Naples bay"
chapters2014, 02 Septembre 2017

Great Service- the staff are very friendly and helpful. A great location made easy for getting a taxi and moving around Naples.15 minute walk to the train station made it cheap to get to Pompeii,Herculaneum and Vesuvius rather than paying exorbitant prices for excursions. 2 lovely restaurants close by the hotel. The roof top terrace at the hotel made it a perfect setting for breakfast. Maybe not suitable for a location for small children as there is no pool or facilities for them.

"The view won't disappoint."
debskender, 30 Août 2017

I loved staying in this hotel...the view is more amazing than their photos. Their restaurant has great food and views. The breakfast buffet was awesome especially the pastries. Its true the public transport in August from here is not easy or great.....but to be honest if you are visiting a city like Naples you really need to stay somewhere really lovely as much of the city can be challenging...dirty and edgy. I travelled solo with my 8 year old son. We used public transport once to get into the city and felt quite unsafe...not in the vicinity of the hotel because its in a great suburb but more once you get to Mergellina and then walking through some of the streets to get to Piazza Dante. After this experience I was really happy to use taxis....and avoided the uglier side of Naples.I hear Naples will be getting Uber soon and that will be even better as the taxi drivers can be dishonest.

"Amazing view"
Jeff M, 29 Août 2017

This is a nice hotel with an amazing views. We loved the small sea view patio off our room, but if not for that, I would not want to stay here. It was not ideal for us in August because the funicular transportation line was closed which resulted in limited transportation options off the huge hill this hotel is located on. Huge hill = amazing view, and from what I hear, when the train line up and down the hill is open, it is great. It was about a 4min walk to the station that takes you up and down the hill, with the line closed, it was about 25min down a crazy switch back hill to the mergalina train line to get anywhere. The hotel roof restaurant bar does have amazing views and the service is decent.

"Fantastic views, wonderful service"
WatsonandWatson, 27 Août 2017

Modern hotel with comfortable, clean rooms with balcony. We only booked the partial view which basically meant we had the top of the building in front obstructing a little but to be honest we spent more time on the roof terrace anyway. Food was wonderful as were all the waiters who couldn't do more for us. We booked a last minute trip to Pompei through the hotel which fitted perfectly to our schedule and the hotel organised taxis down to the town which were reasonably priced. We parked in the lock up garage opposite the hotel which you have to pay for but you can take the risk of parking on the street. Glad i stayed here rather than in Naples town centre itself.

"The best view in Naples"
Colin M, 24 Août 2017

Booked a last minute family break to Naples. We decided on the BW Hotel Paradiso based upon the views & the value. This is really a 3 star hotel. That said it was clean, the staff were very helpful and of course the breathtaking views. The continental style breakfast is only €2 per person per day for all you can eat, so a great way to set yourself up for the day. When we visited the funicular railway wasn't working, so we mostly walked up down the hill into Mergerlina which took about 20 minutes each way - very steep hill! Alternatively the 621 bus goes from 250 meters from the hotel to save your legs. We stayed in the family room (411/412) where our teenagers had their own connected room with single beds. We had a balcony & amazing view. The room was clean, functional & suited us perfectly for the limited time we spent actually in it. We found Naples to be a disappointment, filthy with overflowing bins everywhere. However on the recommendation of the reception staff we had superb day trips to Procida & Sorrento. The public transport is really good value for moving round th he area especially the Metro. Overall the BW Paradiso represents good value & has a stunning view. Get the right room & you won't be disappointed.

"Good views, but more a 3* hotel in my opinion"
smileysusan1971, 22 Août 2017

We stayed here for a long weekend and was glad that we spent most of the day out visiting museums. The hotel was not up to the standard of cleanliness that I would expect. Mold in the bathrooms, especially on the tiles and showers. The rooms had lampshades missing and the glasses in the room dirty. The positive of the hotel is its position. It is outside of the busy city and very easy to get a taxi. The views are fabulous.

"Amazing views !!"
denise w, 22 Août 2017

Just got back from a week long stay at this lovely hotel. The views are to die for ,we had a seaview romm which was spotlessley clean!!! .The satff are attentive ,polite anf helpful.I would definately stay here again if I were ever in Naples ,

"Hotel Paridiso"
juliekT1521JB, 22 Août 2017

The hotel is a just the right distance from the centre of Naples. Hotel has a nice setting with good views over the bay. Staff are extremely helpful and make the stay a relaxing and pleasant one. It was a great place to end our trip in Naples

"Great views"
cparry17, 20 Août 2017

Although the this hotel is high above the harbour of Naples, the views are great. We stayed for 7 days and had a good break. Visits to Capri - lovely but busy. Sorrento was a great place to visit. Staff at hotel helpful, rooms very modern and clean.

"Bad staff "
Chip F, 13 Août 2017

Just stayed here for 4 nights. Fantastic views clean hotel decent breakfast but not much on offer, only main problem with this hotel are the reception staff, night reception rude and unhelpful. Views are great but came back early one night to sit and take views in with a drink to find bar closed. Shame really this could be a great hotel. Read reviews about staff and sorry to say it's true, no good replying to bad reviews if you're not willing to do anything about it, what a shame but all in all a fantastic holiday destination.

"Great hotel with views."
MrThomo, 10 Août 2017

We stayed for 10 nights in this hotel. We have 2 teenage boys, so we booked a family room with a sea view, which was great. We had a double room and a twin room, with a connecting door between. Our rooms were on level 2 front facing and had a balcony with views of the sea and mount Versuvious. Level 3 would offer better views if you can request it ! Rooms cleaned every day, large LCD TV, air conditioning, comfortable beds and we'll equipped bathroom with shower. Breakfast is held on the rooftop outside/inside dining areas. We sat outside every morning as the weather was in hot and no wind. Breakfast was outstanding with all sorts of hot and cold choices and drinks. Bacon, sausage, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, yoghurts, fruits, etc. The hotel has its own restaurant, which is convenient, but we did not use it as we dined out in Naples every night. The location is quiet and on a hill which has a funicular railway near by to take you down to Mergellina port below. We purchased 7 day travel tickets which give you unlimited use of city transport for a week (funicular, underground, bus). We went everywhere using the underground. Mergellina metro station was a 5 minute walk from the Mergellina funicular station. Naples is a city with a lot of character. Graffiti and some litter, busy roads, etc ... but still a place with lots to see and do. Pompeii, mount Versuvious, Herculaneum, Sorento are a must. Put it on your holiday list and stay at the Hotel Paradiso if you want a quiet scenic location.

"Amazing Restaurant!!"
kcookekc, 07 Août 2017

Hotel was quite nice, however it is the restaurant that makes this place amazing! Service was impeccable throughout every meal, very attentive without being overbearing. The manager Ivan and the assistant Gerardo were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. My Italian is very limited but they kept a good level of conversation in English throughout my time there. Both breakfast and dinner were great experiences, with good organisation from all the team. Also a special mention to Angelo on reception who was always smiling and made us to feel welcome there. Thank you to all the team!!

"Far away from 4 star level & service"
wolfdieterw638, 03 Août 2017

Restaurant deficient. Placemats on the tables disgusting with old dry leftovers. Greasy dirty glass tables. Dishes and especially drinking glasses never clean. Old rotten carpets - disgusting. Dirty floors. Terrace often occupied with external wedding or birthday-partys or other similar partys. Inattentive and unhelpful waiters. View from the terrace is magnificent. Reception people are helpful. Rooms ok for a 4* hotel. Cleaning ladies for rooms attentive & friendly.

"Nice hotel, shame about the management "
mrstickle6666, 30 Juillet 2017

Hotel out of the city up a hill but with fabulous views over the bay. Restaurant food ok but far too pricey and not enough choice. Restaurant manager was rude, speaks little English and very unhelpful. The younger waiters were good and tried their best to accommodate. In general not the most friendliest hotel staff I have met on my travels. Room clean, maids did a nice job and hotel in general looks fresh although a little dusty out on the terrace. Some very noisy building work going on in room below in morning, just as well we were leaving and not having a lie in. Not all sea View rooms have balcony doors only a window. Breakfast was ok. varied, cereals, ham, eggs, cheese, pastries, fruit etc but don't expect an English breakfast. I would not return to this hotel which is a shame because all the ingredients are there to make it a quality hotel but some things sadly need addressing.

"Disappointed, not worth the money "
Caitlinmcf, 25 Juillet 2017

My partner and I ended up staying here after my sister had made the booking and then couldn't go. To start with, she was charged twice for the room and it has taken weeks for the hotel to sort this problem out, with no compensation offered. The view is spectacular, and on arrival we were offered complementary drinks which was a nice touch. The breakfast is also impressive with a broad selection of options. However, beware that this hotel is quite out of the way of the city centre and it will take a considerable amount of time to get there (50 minutes if you're using the metro and cable car system). Therefore to get to Pompeii or Vesuvius it will take a couple of hours in total. The staff were rude and unhelpful, with a few exceptions. There were hairs in the shower on arrival and our 'double bed' was two singles pushed together, with very uncomfortable mattresses. Overall, not worth the price with rude staff and bad service.

"Great view from the restaurant "
Julia D, 21 Juillet 2017

Nice hotel just outside Naples - great for touring the city and then short taxi and your away from it all - the view from the rooftop restaurant is amazing and the food and drinks are great - well worth a visit

"City break "
Marlene T, 17 Juillet 2017

Stayed here for four days the hotel is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful especially the restaurant staff my husband had teeth extracted shortly before leaving the UK and was struggling to eat but thanks to the chef for the first time in days he managed to clear his plate and devour a steak. Also the views are amazing especially if you get a room on the third or fourth floor.

"Nice hotel on the top of the hill"
Rob S, 17 Juillet 2017

We took a cab up the hill to the Best Western. It's a bit of an up-hill walk otherwise, although we did walk down to the shore a couple times. Location is good and hotel is nice. Staff were very friendly. I was trying to get to a certain part of the next town and two staff spent about half an hour with me coming up with options. Very nice of them. Breakfast was good and very fresh. Although we thought it was included on all the days but for some reason we had to pay for three of the days we stayed there. Rooftop view of the coast is very nice. I would stay here again.

"Good hotel let down by the menu"
Henry B, 14 Juillet 2017

The hotel was very good but let down by the poor menu and cost. We selected to go half board but we were totally disappointed with what we were allowed to order. On one night ended eating out because there was nothing on the menu worth ordering.

"Outstanding hotel"
Ali B, 13 Juillet 2017

We (my elderly mum, 20 year old son and I) stayed here for 5 nights recently. I cannot fault the hotel on the whole. The rooms are modern and comfortable, well equipped. If you are on the third or fourth floor on the bay side you also have outstanding views and the balcony is great. The view from the room and the roof terrace is one of the best you will ever see. We found hotel staff to be especially helpful and friendly- nothing was too much trouble. It's an ideal base for exploring Naples, Vesuvius, Capri and Sorrento. I would love to return.

"Perfect Dinner & 2 Night Stay!"
prdorsey23, 12 Juillet 2017

We were in Naples for 2 nights and we chose the PARADISO as it was close to the coast. I must first brag on the service and atmosphere of their rooftop restaurant. We arrived at 9:00 PM, and had not reserved a table and had not dressed up for the occasion. However, the restaurant manager took immediate attention to us and gave us a table for two overlooking the volcano and the bay. Next we asked to sample some local seafood, and the manager recommended the catch of the day, which was a large fish that would end up taking 20 minutes to grill! The manager brought us hors d' ouevre while we were waiting, and did not charge us for them! This manager went above and beyond, and I can not recommend the restaurant enough! He even gave us complimentary champagne when I inform him that we were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. The service, the food, the wine, and the atmosphere made this one of the best nights of our lives! Thank you to everyone involved!! We stayed 2 nights in a room with a sea view. It was clean and modern and the air conditioning worked well, especially when the blinds were closed. Our view of the volcano and the bay were breathtaking and we even had chairs and a table on our spacious balcony. Bathroom is modern and very clean with plenty of attention to detail. While the rooms have only a standup shower, this is still nicer than many places we have stayed in the past. The staff were very friendly and were ready to assist with any need. My only complaint would be that the staff was not as good with their use of English as I have grown accustomed to at other Italian hotels. When I rate this hotel as 5 stars, it is based not only on this stay, but also comparing it to other hotels in all of Italy. If you travel in Italy at all, you know there are some old hotels out there with some questionable accommodations and some staff that may not be very friendly. The PARADISO has everything you need and a wonderful, modern atmosphere as well! Thank you all for an amazing stay.

"perfect place to stay"
RuthAnn F, 12 Juillet 2017

I stayed here 3 nights, whether for business or holiday this is a place I could recommend - affordable, good rooms, helpful service. Nice roof terrace - I only had one meal there but pleasant place to meet friends and drink / eat. Basic amenities v close by - cafe, ATM, great hairdresser!

"Great view and helpful staff"
Elle630, 11 Juillet 2017

Nice but small rooms. We were a group of seven and were surprised to be given four rooms. The rooms truly can only accomodate two people, lovely for honeymooners, probably not best for families. The view of the water is beautiful and we enjoyed the breakfast.

"Best View of Napoli & Vesuvius"
Razorachilles, 07 Juillet 2017

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in June 2017 as a base for day trip to Amalfi. Building/Room: The building itself appears to be 60s/70s era boxy concrete building but has been updated and generally well-maintained. We stayed in a 3-person room which featured a queen-sized bed and a twin-sized single. The room itself was somewhat small, but updated. Bathroom was European en-suite size and OK. One note - while the view from the top of the building is outstanding, room #s 3 and below face an ivy-covered concrete wall. Wasn't an issue for us but if you're expecting the same view from the lobby level/terrace from the room then you may be disappointed. THE selling feature of this property is the view from the lobby, rooftop restaurant and open air terraces which are indeed spectacular. The sweeping crescent shoreline of the Bay of Napoli curving from your left, pass Mt. Vesuvius which dominates the horizon and looms over the entire city, then continues eastward towards Sorrento & Costa d'Amalfi...while not clear from the terrace itself, a window in the dining room of the restaurant does provide with you of a view of Capri on the horizon. It is a spectacular vista with very different moods in the morning over breakfast (very good breakfast buffet with hot & cold options is served here each day) vs sunset/evening hours. The on-site restaurant itself served excellent food and the waitstaff was attentive, friendly and welcoming. One of the better meals we had in Italy that visit. Bonus note: should your schedule allow, we stayed here during the annual Pizza Festival in Napoli. A quick ride down to the marina via a funicular (there's a stop about 200m from the hotel) and we were able to walk along the marina to the festival...a great experience in the city where pizza was born (and locals would submit, perfected!).

"Good view from hotel"
Barry186338, 05 Juillet 2017

We visited Naples and stayed at this hotel. It is on a higher elevation with good view of the harbour. The way down to the beach, shops and restaurants is by funicular. The station is some 10 min walk from the hotel. Reception staff were very helpful in organizing travel and tours. The rooms were average and clean. The restaurant appears to be fine but we did not use it except for breakfast which was not great with very limited choice. Restaurant staff were all busy clearing and setting tables and service was missing. It was not easy to attract attention of staff. Overall a three star in my view. Good Service could improve the rating. Not sure if I will repeat this hotel when next in Naples.

"Great View"
Denise T, 04 Juillet 2017

We only spent one night in Naples. The view from the dining room was amazing, view of Mt Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. We had a family suite which was two rooms that was great and the price reasonable. The hotel set up a transfer (for a fee) from the airport who was there when we landed. We did have some confusion with our Pompeii driver I was looking for a tour but we ended up with just a driver without a tour. The driver was very nice.

"Disappointed"
Nefeli A, 02 Juillet 2017

We stayed in this hotel for a night. We did the reservation from booking and we payed a room with view that they never gave us. We noticed that to the reception but they told us that they couldnt do anything. We were very disappointed from their service. Nevermind the room was clear but without towels amd we had to ask for that. The only perfect was the breakfast.

"June in Naples"
markyramone4321, 29 Juin 2017

I highly recommend The Paradiso. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful organizing a car and driver to take us to Pompeii. They also had great tips about where to shop and eat the best pizza. The view from our room was picture perfect. And the rooftop restaurant is worth going to even if you aren't a guest at the hotel. The bed was comfortable and room spotless. Will be back again. Thanks Daniela, Angelo, Ugo and Dominick for everything!!

"Great views, not much around "
Hannah S, 27 Juin 2017

This hotel has amazing views from its rooftop restaurant, although not all rooms have the same view. Unfortunately there's nothing around the hotel because it's high up the cliff, so we spent a lot of money getting taxis or trams down and up the hill to do anything in Naples. The hotel also has weddings some nights on the rooftop, which is then closed off to visitors. They let us order a drink on another balcony, but it was a bit annoying that it was blocked off to people staying at the hotel. There were extra costs for the city tax applied, as well as one of the couples was charged for breakfasts which they were under the impression was included. It has great views, but I wouldn't stay here again.

"Great Stay in Naples at the Paradiso"
rlr126, 23 Juin 2017

Had a wonderful experience at the hotel, including the restaurant, and front desk staff. Especially Domenico. He was so helpful everyday. Rooms are smaller than i am used to in Canada, but enough room for myself, and all rooms very clean. The view in the lobby is amazing, as well as lunch or dinner upstairs in the restaurant has the incredible view as well.

"Shame about the restaurant"
Susan W, 20 Juin 2017

Lovely staff on reception, restaurant manager rude and unapproachable, lots of business and private functions in restaurant to the exclusion of paying holiday makers staying at the hotel. Doors were shut and left no where for holiday makers to relax and have a drink. Not the sort of quality you expect from jet2.

"visited in may"
479sujatas, 14 Juin 2017

we were very happy to check in here, got family room 1 and viewof bay n vesuviouswhich was amazing ,but our aircondition was not working properly and it was stuffy n hot.The manager changed our room but in hurry we left our ray ban sungkasses worth 120 euros. On enquiry we were told house keeping staff checking but we never got it back,,,the restaurant had limited options, hotel had good breakfast but far away from main centre

"Don't bother"
Graham C, 05 Juin 2017

Hotel is well away from Naples city centre. Our room was between the reception and the cleaner's cupboard. View was the road (people could see in) and a wall, no fabulous view of the bay. Breakfast rubbish. Didn't feel like a four star hotel as we were lead to believe. Only redeeming point was that the room was clean.

"View is amazing"
Peter S, 27 Mai 2017

Room was well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. A train/metro trip to get to the hotel and then quite a long steep walk to get to the hotel. I could have taken a taxi but I'm a Yorkshire man so I walked. Tell you what though, it was worth the blisters to sit on the roof terrace with a glass of Prosecco and to watch the sun go down over the bay of Naples and then to have breakfast the following morning gazing on Vesuvius. Oh this is what life is about

"Mini break"
hollyjaneeaton, 24 Mai 2017

We stayed here for 4 nights, staff were more than helpful with any questions we had, directions or booking us cabs. Room was spotless, and the view is amazing, you definitely need a room on level 3 or 4 to appreciate this. Its a bit a walk to get to central naples, we took the funicular everyday down to the harbour, its only 1euro and you can buy metro, funicular & bus ticket for 4.50euros We preferred being along from the hustle & bustle of central Naples so this hotel was perfect for us. A cab ride from the hotel to the port is only between 15-20euros with tip. We choose the business package for our room so it included, breakfast, the view from the garden bar/restaurant is amazing and all the staff are happy and on hand to help with anything you required food/drink wise.

"Best views in the city"
Ceilidh M, 21 Mai 2017

I would say unless you are getting an ocean view room don't bother. The views are amazing but there are no "attractions" near by. That said the metro system and funicular are both super close which gives you access to everything. It feels like it would be quieter than the central part of the city. Just know the last trip up the hill is at 10:00pm so you'll need to find a way back up after that time. The cleaning staff ranged from good to down right hostile. We took the metro with our suitcases to Mergellina and then a 10E cab ride up. The hotel has a car service for $25.00 to the train station which we used when we were going earlier than the funicular was open which was excellent. No blackout curtains so by night 3 I bought an eye mask (Tiger in the Train station) and was fine after that. Bring ear plugs not just for guests but for fireworks - always fireworks! Waking up every morning to that view absolutely made our holiday!

"Staff pretty rude, Sooo HUMID with no aircon and not overly clean"
sian b, 17 Mai 2017

I have to agree with a ladies review a few down. We arrived and the male reception staff were ok, not overly happy but fine. We went up to our rooms which we were only staying in for one night in April for a meeting with clients the following day to find the rooms were terribly hot. We had too rooms and they were exactly the same, the outside temperature in April wasn't even warm but the room was so humid it made me feel ill. I called down to reception who came up and tried to explain (I think I got it correct) that it was too early in the season for them to put aircon on so no aircon and I was to leave a patio type door open onto a communal balcony. There were shutter blinds (electric) infront of the door but as a woman on her own in a room I was pretty uncomfortable having my door open to a balcony anyone for other walls could walk along but just moving small plant holders between the rooms. We did not stay in the rooms much as we had a meeting the next day but it was adequate to sleep in one evening. The lady member of staff in the restaurant for breakfast was unbelievable rude and off. As the communal areas in the hotel were also so humid we asked to sit on the outside for breakfast (the plus of this hotel is the views are to die for), she groaned and flicked her hand to gesture we could go out. We were brought no cutlery or showed how to order our breakfast. Shortly afterwards an Italian couple came out and she brought them table mats and cutlery !!! For the management reading this review she had short blonde hair and really was truly the most rude individual i've come across for some time. Breakfast was average to poor. The communal areas were pretty grubby, the stairs leading to the restaurant for breakfast were covered in bits and looked like they hadn't been hoovered for years. The reception was dire - im all for shabby chic but this was grubby and dirty, the chairs and rug were threadbare and there were quite a number of ants walking up and down the edge of the rug (at least 20-30 tiny ants) On check out this time there was a lady this time, again she was sullen and looked terribly miserable doing her job. So unfriendly . We literally were in and out of Naples for one day for a business meeting but I would never ever stay here again and certainly would not recommend it . Im not sure if the female staff were just miserable and rude or if it were the fact we were women / English / on business - who knows but its certainly not an attitude I would accept from my staff. We actually laugh about it, especially the blonde lady in the breakfast room - she almost snarled at us !!! If you read other reviews I have written you will see I always take the good and bad and weigh up against cost and expectations. I am fair in my opinions and do not expect the world. I do though expect courtesy, manners and a smile back when I smile. Apart from the views there really is nothing I can like about this hotel. If you have another option , then I would take it. There are plenty of nice hotels in naples (some beautiful looking ones on the water front which are comparably priced). We only picked this as our Italian clients had suggested it was a convenient place for them to pick us up from. A note to the management : please retrain your staff or improve recruitment processes to pick them (watch how they interact with your customers), improve cleanliness of communal areas - ants inside is not very pleasant.

"Fantastic "
Tracey S, 09 Mai 2017

We have just returned from an amazing 4 days in Naples. The hotel was beautiful !! Room was very comfortable and very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. Faniculare down to the marina was a short 5 minute walk to the left UP the hill and only costs 1 euro to take you down. Signs for the faniculare are in yellow and have ticket machines, only takes coins, just inside the entrance. Alternatively you can purchase tickets from the newsagents next door. Level for the hotel is 3rd on the list. Metro station is a short walk from the base entrance of the faniculare. We purchased metro tickets from the newsagents next door for Pompei. 14 euro for 2 return tickets to Pompei ... great price. We were advised to change at the national station for another train but we decided to stay on as the metro took us straight through. So glad we did as the views are beautiful as you travel along the coastline. Arriving in Pompei we were asked if we wanted a shuttle bus for 3 euros to take us to the ruins, again we decided against this and chose to walk to see a bit of new Pompei. Very glad we chose to do this as Pompei has so much to offer and its beautiful !!! Short 20 minute walk to our entrance, i had pre booked our tickets back in the Uk via Tiqets app, simply showed the bar code on my phone instead of printing a ticket. Worked extremely smoothly. Mergellina Marina, which is where the hotel is based, is not loaded with bars and cafe's but it is fantastic. Make the walk along the harbour to tbe Fort and they have lots of restaurants and bars. We will be returning very soon and would 100% recommend the Best Western Hotel Paradiso. xxx

"Awesome location"
LekhaSM, 02 Mai 2017

This hotel has an amazing view of the Gulf of Naples & Mt Vesuvius. Its bit far from train station and takes 20+ euros to reach, which is the downside. On the plus is the awesome view. Rooms are ok, small size and clean bathrooms. There is a convenient cable car to take you down to Mergelina which is more accessible to the public transport & hop on tours. A leisurely walk along the gulf of naples, sitting on the rocks and admiring the view is a dream experience.

"Rude and unhelpful staff"
Kate W, 23 Avril 2017

The worst hotel that I've stayed in, in a long time! We stayed 3 nights and received little sleep, due to several reasons. On the first night, when we checked in, we entered the room and the humidity was unbearable. We opened the window to find it opened straight onto a wall... no circulating air at all. We tried the air conditioning, but all it seemed to be blowing was very hot air. So, we went up to reception, told them the issue and were met by a very unhelpful and rude response. They told us 'lots of people coming and going, very busy' and that 'no air-con, sorry'. When we asked for a fan they basically turned us away. As a result of the humid air, we had to get up every few hours and sit by the window to cool off. We also heard dogs barking into the middle of the night and our noisy neighbors were up until early hours of the morning bashing round. If it wasn't guests, the staff were also very loud and made their presence known. We mentioned this in passing to reception, told the same thing 'very busy hotel, people coming and going' and that they wouldn't move us rooms. Paid a lot for a peaceful sea-view room, for it to be ruined. The final straw was on the last day, when we got up to use the toilet in the middle of the night. Getting back into bed, we heard the loudest groan and gurgling noise which lasted at least a minute. When we flushed again, it started leaking brown liquid, filling up the toilet. We immediately went to reception, to be told they'd 'have a look' but nobody came. Meanwhile, we were told to use the hotel toilet in reception as the one in our room was full of this disgusting smelly brown liquid. As a result, we checked out to get out of the room. A few extra issues: Due to the time of year we booked, it was a little windy to sit on the terrace. We asked to maybe sit inside, in the corner of the restaurant, as they had nice views of the bay. We were told no, if we wanted to sit inside we would have to sit in reception. Not very relaxing to sit in a reception for a drink. Also, our bin was not emptied for the duration of our stay. Very unhygienic as it was an open bin plus the humidity. It seemed when we looked into it further, the only thing the maid had done if propped our pillows up and pulled the sheet back over. Good views, terrible staff. Would not recommend.

"Great value, great service, and a fantastic view"
jphanover, 21 Avril 2017

If you're American, don't let the Best Western label deter you. While BW has a questionable reputation in the states, this hotel offers fantastic value, including perhaps the BEST VIEW in the city (ask for the water side, 3rd or 4th floor, or 2nd probably okay), and a top-notch restaurant if you want to just stay in for dinner. Our family stayed there for four nights. The rooms were clean and well appointed with a small veranda. The staff was helpful getting taxis, etc. The breakfast was ample. A nearby Funicular gets you down to water level easily. The drinks my wife and I had on the outdoor roof deck were a highlight of our Naples visit.

"Great hotel,"

Hotel in good position,in an elevated position about a mile out of centre of city. Naples city centre is a very busy place,in my opinion not relaxing at all,but others may love it. To get to hotel you can walk from sea front up steep hill, there is a lift which operates 7 am till 10 and it costs a Euro one way. Not much going on around hotel, there is a bar opposite but it shuts at 9,and beer is more expensive than hotel. Hotel bar shuts around 11,breakfast good and served 7.30 to 10.30 Hotel has taxi which can take you to airport,we paid 45 euros.

"Excellent Location With Great Views"
Carol379, 07 Avril 2017

An ideal location for a good view of Naples, the bay and Mount Vesuvius; being high on the hills overlooking Naples city. The hotel is located in a suburb a short distance outside of Naples city and all the quieter for that. The journey into Naples took 30 minutes on public transport and was probably quicker than using a taxi or car, Naples has a terrible traffic problem. The staff where friendly and attentive. The bedroom was clean and tidy, but a bit on the small side, the bed was firm, but very comfortable. The food in the evening was good if a little pricy, breakfast was excellent. overall a good hotel for a short break.

"Nice view but very basic rooms"
Scoted, 31 Mars 2017

Had the worst stay in a long time. Room had non functioning air con on a warm night. and was at the bottom of a drain pipe that was actively noisy after everybody flushed on the 3 floors above me. Avoid room 109 at all costs.

"Beautiful modern room and excellent customer service"
Lauren W, 02 Mars 2017

Beautiful modern room with magnificent view of Bay of Naples. Loved looking out of our door at any time of the day at the wonderful view. Excellent service upon checking and various dining experiences.

"Amazing view"
29Jetsetter, 15 Février 2017

Stayed here for a few days in February. Has amazing views over the gulf of Naples and mount Vesuvius. Rooftop restaurant has panoramic views whilst you eat breakfast and dinner. Spectacular during the day and at night. Room was clean and comfortable enough. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice comfortable lounge areas and outdoor spaces to enjoy the scenery. Would have liked to have had more tea and coffee facilities in the room. One tea bag and one coffee for my 3 days. They weren't even replaced each day by housekeeping. Would also have liked a room service menu in my room. Other than those minor points it was a very nice stay. It's out of central Naples and up a hill so you'd need to get transport everywhere. Worth it for the views though.

"Christmas Vacay"
vanessa k, 29 Décembre 2016

This hotel was perfect. Clean, beautiful building & rooms, and an outstanding view. We had a room with a private balcony (I would say it's worth the upgrade). We felt very safe in the hotel, we confidently stored our valuables in our room while we explored the city. The staff was friendly & professional. I would recommend the Aperol spritz (the best I've ever had) the bar & view was amazing but personally would recommend avoiding the restaurant and enjoying food within the city. Keep in mind this hotel is located a fair distance from the center but easily accessible by cheap taxi nonetheless.

"What a view"
mn4trvl, 26 Novembre 2016

Fantastic view from rooftop terrace, reception very helpful on points of interest and transportation, quiet & clean room, Antonio & restaurant staff professional but friendly. We would stay here again.

"Few days stay in very comfortable hotel with spectacular views of Naples"
205georgiek, 21 Novembre 2016

We had a quiet room (2nd floor) with a sea view - it was comfortable and clean, not enormous but had its own balcony. The staff were always friendly, and keen to help. The most stunning feature about this hotel though is its roof terrace and the views from its main dining-room. They are wonderful. On clear days you can see right over the Bay of Naples to Castel dell'Ovo and on to Vesuvius. Would thoroughly recommend this as a base for anyone visiting Naples. It's very peaceful and not far from the funicular which will whisk you down the hill to the bay ... or taxis are always an option.

"Great view."
Romanbiker, 06 Novembre 2016

This BW hotel is far from the maddening Naepolitan traffica and offers a spectacular view of the gulf & Vesuvius. Best rooms facing the sea are on the 4th floor. Classic/elegant non thrill hotel, rooms not big but confortable and most have balconies facing the sea. Bathrooms tiny. Clean, amenities so so, brakfast poor in variety: mosty delicious mini sfogliatelle (excellent) cornetti, etc. Sleeping quality high apart very stiff (to my taste) pillows. Staff efficient and curtious.

"Fabulous views, good breakfast, too noisy though and too far away from the centre"
Linda C, 02 Novembre 2016

My husband and I booked a room overlooking the Bay of Naples which was a fabulous view. Unfortunately our room was directly below the dining room so it was quite noisy, especially on Monday night. I was fast asleep when I was wakened by very loud, live music at around 10.45. It felt like the singer was in the room. I complained at reception and the music did seem to quieten down for a while then it would suddenly get louder. It was impossible to sleep until it ended at midnight. The hotel should warn guests that certain rooms are not suitable if you want a quiet night!!! On the plus side, the breakfast in the dining room over looking the bay was very pleasant and the cappuccino (order from the waiter) was the best I've had.

"Good and bad"
Douglas D, 22 Octobre 2016

We are a family of five so we booked a sea view room for us and a slightly cheaper rear room for the kids. Our room is fine, there room smells of drains. The hotel solution was perfume. Dining room and evening drinks has a spectacular view. A bit of a walk especially when the funicular closes at 10pm but fine for a short stay

"Great view!"
sashrod, 02 Octobre 2016

Don't miss the breakfast served on the rooftop, worth it for the view of Vesuvius. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bellman and concierge are always ready to help. Be prepared to take a wild taxi ride up and down the hill.

"a view to die for"
Kavzchat, 16 Septembre 2016

I booked at the best western paradiso because of the view of the Naples bay.. from my room, I could see the bay and the double headed Vesuvius and soma. the bay was accessible from the hotel via a funicular, which is a short walk away. breakfast was good... though the hot chocolate was erratic .. good on some days and terrible on others. I even had dinner at the restaurant on some days.. the view of the bay from the restaurant is spectacular. all in all a good stay.

"View"
624Sandra, 13 Septembre 2016

Unless you are fit, use a car or taxi's this hotel is not for you. The staff don't speak English and are not that friendly. Breakfast was very basic. The only hot item which never changed in 9 days was scrambled egg. There was a kettle in the room but having boiled the water and looked in the kettle there were white lumps in the water which could have been from someone boiling milk in the kettle. Staff didn't wash mugs or restock items. Room 307 has an amazing view.

"Soon much better than in the states"
Evan K, 11 Septembre 2016

Every Best Western I've stayed at in the states is OK at best. This hotel was leagues above all those! There's a fantastic rooftop restaurant with amazing views over the Bay of Naples. The front desk staff is very helpful and attentive. The rooms are spacious and have the same wonderful views.

"Pretty decent"
Corey W, 08 Septembre 2016

We are a couple Americans staying here for a few days on our honeymoon. This hotel is what you make it, and if we were spending a lot of time here we would probably be disappointed, as most things (cafes, bars, shops) on the hill close around 7:30. The good: The morning/afternoon staff is very accommodating. What they lack in full English understanding, they make up for with an actual eagerness to help. Breakfast was nice. Also good: the views from the restaurant/bar. The rooms are decent size and housekeeping is both great at cleaning and honest. We accidentally left our safe open all day yesterday (with drivers license, $80 cash, travel docs and and iPad.....stupid) and it was all there when we returned. The not so great: inattentive lounge staff before restaurant opens, no view on 1st floor, solarium was nice but not well kept for our stay. Also, taxi fares will cost 12-15 euros per trip to train station/hotels for Pompeii/Capri tours. Gets pricey. Overall, we would stay closer to the city center next time but there is no denying this is a nice, clean hotel with a staff that cares, though they make got struggle in a few areas. Napoli in a nutshell: not nearly as touristy as Rome, but it has a beat and a soul of its own. Good luck!

"Room, Restaurant and Staff"
GeraldineByrne, 01 Septembre 2016

We booked a triple room for 3 adults but the room we received was double with an extra bed squeezed in. The only storage room in the room was a small double wardrobe. Outside the room was a cage housing approximately 5 or 6 budgies and these birds were very noisy from 4.30am onwards. The restaurant where breakfast and dinner was served was out in the open with a magnificent view of Naples. Unfortunately, guests had to deal with several pidgeons flying, and landing, walking and taking food from tables where guests were eating - Surely management should consider ways of ensuring these birds are not allowed anywhere near food is being served.

"Fantastic Service"
Stephen B, 01 Septembre 2016

If you stay in Naples you will find the service at this hotel above most hotels. Right from reception to rooms to the fantastic bar and restaurant service we can say we found all to be of a high standard. Should we return to Naples we will stay here. One word of caution, there is no need to park your car in the parking garage across the street. We parked for 4 days on the street with no issues.

"very good location good view friendly staff"
lazardukovski, 22 Août 2016

Public transport is very important but it is not understandable if you are not italian. but you should get those information at reception. there is cable bus who goes directly to the hotel and it costs 1.80€ in one way

"A bit disappointed"
KYT1107, 19 Août 2016

My partner booked a long weekend away in Naples for a birthday surprise. The main reason he chose this hotel was because of the roof top bar/terrace with views over the Gulf of Naples. We were extremely disappointed to be asked to leave the bar on 2 out of our 3 evening's stay due to there being private parties booked - we didn't bother trying on the third night! We didn't find the male receptionist on our night of arrival very friendly, although the lady who was there the following day was much more pleasant. Our room was very nice and clean and the air conditioning was amazing and really needed! My partner had paid extra for a partial sea view which I recommend otherwise your view will be the back of an apartment block! We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on the food. The hotel is quite a distance from the main town and if you want to walk it is down (and back up!!) a steep hill - certainly not for anyone with mobility problems. There is a funicular railway which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the trains run regularly but stop at midnight I believe. It's difficult to say how much a cab into town will cost as we were charged vastly different amounts each time we used one! I totally recommend a day trip to Sorrento which is absolutely beautiful and definitely somewhere I would like to return to in the future.

"Great View....not so great location"
Titchx, 14 Août 2016

Just spent 3 Nights on our honeymoon at the hotel. The view of Naples is absolutely amazing from this hotel. The hotel's location is in the middle of no where, up a very high hill. First night we arrived we walked down & up the hill, took around 30 mins with breather stops (it's steep) However, on second day we located a cable car and the stop was only 5 min walk up the hill from hotel. Tickets were €1.50 each way (coins only) Trams every 10 mins - saves walking that hill. Purchase your return tickets at the stop because no machine at bottom station. Don't buy the trips to Pompeii as its a lot cheaper and easier to do yourself. Cost us €5.20 return train ticket from Napoli Mengellina to Pompeii. Takes about 1 hour on train. Entrance to Pompeii ruins €13 each including site map & guide book. Overall hotel was clean & tidy. Staff were pleasant and view spectacular but really is in the middle of nowhere. Restaurant food ok...but overpriced for what you have.

"Summer vacation"
Bernd S, 02 Août 2016

I nknew this was not going to be good when the GPS couldn't find the exact address to the hotel so I picked 9 instead of 11 on the number, got me there. Reserved two connecting rooms for a family, we were supposed to be 4, but ended up with 3. The reception tried to give me one room with an add on bed instead of the two rooms, and when I got the two rooms they were not connected, and all of a sudden the guys English got really bad, so I let it be and kept the two rooms, without a view. In one room the air condition worked great and the other barely cooled the room, no help from reception. The one great thing is the restaurant on the top floor overlooking he Mediterannean Sea, beautiful sight, this is also where you eat breakfast. The menu for dinner was limited and average at best. They had Sea Bass on the menu which actually is Branzino which is the European Sea Bass and not the Chilean Sea Bass most people in America would be accustomed to. It was OK we also had the Salmon which was full of bones, terrible, the fried squid and shrimp was ok. If you drive the garage is about 50+ yards away and it is extra and not included in you room, when you leave you can't drive to the front of the hotel, the one way is in the opposite direction. The location is a long walk down to the water front, then a steep walk up hill back to the hotel, so if convenience is a priority this would not be a hotel for you, if you are looking for a view make sure they guarantee you room with a view, otherwise you will see the back of a building I front of you and nothing else. And from what I could see there only are a few rooms with an actual view of the coast line. If you need to go into town or the port or airport they do offer a shuttle for a fee around 20 Euro. Probably my worst experience ever in Europe in he last 30+ years.

"Excellent Stay"
lulugirl1001, 25 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for 1 Night in between our Rome trip and Positano stay. I was very happy that we did this, as we would have missed out on a beautiful view of the Waterfront and mountains. We decided to stay in Naples, as we had a tour booked in Pompeii. The hotel staff was so friendly and accommodating. They spoke great English (but we speak Italian so it wasn't an issue for us) We stayed on the 2nd floor with no view, but didn't mind, as the Views from the main baloney was absolutely breathtaking. We parked our car in a nearby underground garage which was great! As we had a bigger car and did not take out all of our luggages from the car. The room was big and the bedding was so comfortable. The bathroom was stunning and the shower was so amazing for Italy standards. I would definitely recommend this place and would most certainly stay here again.

"Breathtaking!"
BellaItalia11, 21 Juillet 2016

Hotel Paradiso is a beautiful hotel situated in the most magnificent location in Naples. I have visited on a couple of occasions and would most definitely recommend it to anybody who is visiting this amazing city. It is a fantastic location, overlooking the bay of Naples, but very close to the city for sightseeing. The hotel has a fabulous restaurant and terrace with stunning views. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The bedroom, although not having a view of the bay, was clean, spacious and well equipped. It is suitable for families, couples and even, like myself, visiting people in the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit this amazing area staying in a really lovely hotel. Thank you!

"Far from the center, no transportation and bad reception they did not regonize my voucher"
Livia N, 04 Juillet 2016

I had a terrible experience with this hotel. I got there on June 30th all alone and they did not recognize my voucher and said literally to me (This confirmation number means nothing to us). It was 10:00 pm, late at night, and the person who was the repecionist made me feel bad as I was using a voucher what would mean nothing to them and saying also that I had no reservation at all and I did pay all in advance. He also said to me that did not even know how much it was. Fortunately in Brazil it was 5 hours earlier and my husband could contact the travel agency (the biggest one in Brazil) and so they said everything was ok. Later on they told me they had found my reservation in a different system (what makes no sense at all, why they would have 2 differents systems?). The voucher was correctly. By the way it was my birthday and the first thing I told them when I got there was that it was a important day to me. And so I had this terrible experience. Plus it is far away from the center and from the monuments. It is in the top of the mountain and you only have a good view if you stay on the third floor of the hotel, which I was not. I do not recommend at all.

"Cosy!"
s p, 04 Juillet 2016

Just returned last week from our trip booked via Citalia ( 26-30 June). Citalia describes the hotel room with ' stunning views ' as being available. However, these rooms are not available via citalia. So be warned. YOU WILL NOT GET A ROOM WITH A VIEW OTHER THAN THAT OF A STONE WALL VIA CITALIA. Best Western Paradiro is located half way up the farside of the mountain. Acess to the hotel is via 4th floor ( top) and rooms are on 4th floor down to first floor. The rooms on the lower floors can only be described as claustrophobic. The bed (single) or two put together to make a double. The single is barely large enough for a petit built person, so if you aren't petit - be ready for uncomfortable nights. The Air con is like a tractor running and even at max - barely affective. As for the shower room, stretch your hands and you will touch the two opposite walls. So, hotel isn't the best as its name suggests. The staff however was helpful and can't be blamed for the hotel's condition or room sizes. Breakfast and restaurant is OK, the view is stunning. Location wise, the hotel is definitely on the wrong side of the bay for sightseeing tourist. It is either a funicular (cable car) or taxi to/fro to the town. Tourist sights / Day trips: In addition to dozens of flights arriving at Naples, there are daily 3 cruisers and their tourists. So in peak season (May – Oct), all Naples and surrounding sights are overflowing with tourists. Pompeii and Vesuvius are both fabulous. As with any guided tours be ready to be rushed and herded like cattle. If time is on your side, suggest you make your own way to both on separate days (trains from Naples to Pompeii station), then buses from station will take you to Pompeii or Vesuvius. Walking up to the Vesuvius Caldara is a must – wear proper shoes and for those with walking / knee issues, take a walking stick. Amalfi coast self-drive is for the brave only, better to take an organised day trip. They do stop at beauty spots and you do get time in Amalfi. Capri – take one of the many ferries/ hydrofoils across from Naples to sea port to Marine Grande on the island. Buses to go up to Ana Capri and Capri are miniature and queues long. At anaCAPRI, the chair up to the top and view around Alex Munth's ‘ San Michael' ., are the top attractions. Make time for castle del ovo. Though it's an empty site, it's a stunning castle and views are fab. .

"Lovely hotel, friendly staff with the most stunning views"
Glasgow_Rainman, 03 Juillet 2016

We opted for the family (adjoining) rooms at Hotel Paradiso. Essentially, a locked door placed near the end of hotel corridor with two last rooms behind. Each with own keycard entry, or you can leave open as the corridor door key is yours. A clean, pretty modern, well equipped hotel. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bay of Naples with the most stunning of views (day and night), watching the sail boats, yachts, ferries and cruise ships roll in with Vesuvius in the background. I never tired of the view. Breakfast is continental. There is scrambled egg, mini sausages and the usual selection of bread, pastries, fruit, cereals, yoghurt, juice and coffee etc. Still vey filling and sets you up for the day ahead. Free Wifi was available throughout the hotel: Not so good in our room but strong signal from corridor, kids room and all public areas. Would I come again, definitely, the views are stunning and hotel staff are very friendly. They also arranged our taxi from the airport for 45 euro for a minibus. Chap was in arrivals with a board displaying our name. We had the last flight into the city, so was a bonus just to get there quickly and safely. Getting around - The route to the seafront/shops is a very steep winding road and staircases if walking. Much of the route we took (quick route) past San Antonio chapel had no pavements and is very tight hairpin bends for cars. Be careful on foot, the roads are cobbled, the drivers and riders do not conform to the safety rules of the U.K. The bonus is that the fruit shop at the foot of this route to the bay, sells large water for 50c, 3x cans Pepsi for 1 euro and does local wine (bottle) for 2 (euro), if you're game enough to tackle the local moonshine. You can avoid the steep climb by taking the funicalore (cable pulled train) for 1 euro each way (keep your coinage for this as ticket machine only on downward) to Mergelina. We mostly used this for the uphill only. The S.Gioacchino stop is only a few mins walk up from the hotel. From Mergelina you can catch a ferry to Ischia (quaint island with lovely beach within walking distance from port). It was just under 20 euro each way//adult. Walking 5 mins along the road (from funicalore) you can reach the Mergelina metro for a train to Naples (Garibaldi), from there you can connect on the local Sorrento line to Vesuvius or Pompeii Scavi. The total journey cost 3.20 each way, so relatively inexpensive. The heavily graffitied Sorrento train can be very busy and you may need to stand. Keep your valuables guarded. If visiting Pompeii, show your EU passport and under 16s are free. Students are half price. Also, there is often a queue at Pompeii Scavi station for the 50c loo, the ticket office is 100yds along the road with free facilities. One last thing, local drivers and riders are on their phones constantly, I've seen riders on scooters carrying dogs, young children with no helmets and in one case a 32" boxed LG TV and bag of potatoes. It's nuts. They have little regard for red lights and crossing the road can be a challenge. Watch the locals cross at zebra crossings, they just go for it. Some vehicles stop, others whiz around them. Personally, I'd like the city to curb graffiti, ban smoking in restaurants and improve road safety. Take note Napoli. The hotel has one of the most scenic positions on the hill. It is a beautiful part of the world and I'd certainly have no issues in returning.

"Wonderful time in Naples"
Eviline A, 30 Juin 2016

It has been a great experience, enjoyed every minute of our stay. Lovely rooms, great location (a bit up high but views were worth it). I can definitely recommend Hotel Paradiso, staff are great and very helpful too.

"Business "
Kate M, 22 Juin 2016

I picked this hotel as the Best Western chain tends to be associated with reputable hotels and good service. There was no denying the setting was beautiful but staff members were rude and obnoxious. I attended on quite a high profile business trip and found the reception team extremely condescending particularly each time the safe broke. I was a young female travelling alone, and I'd have thought this would have meant they would be helpful for example be accommodating in my requests to order a taxi but no such luck. I definitely won't be visiting again!

"Room with a view"
Leopold M, 21 Juin 2016

Great terrace overlooking the bay on Napels, Very good lunch during our business review meeting. The meeting room was a bit small for our group but that worked our fine. My room was nicely renovated and overlooking the bay as well. Friendly and supportive staff.

"Pleasant stay"
stephen c, 17 Juin 2016

From the moment we walked in to leaving the staff were excellent we could not fault there service at all. The advice about Naples (not wearing expensive jewellery while out) the best places to eat - sorbillo pizza the best I've ever had and the day trips they can sort out for you where very good too. The continental breakfast was excellent although the coffee machine rarely worked but that was a bonus as the waiter made fantastic coffees for us while singing to himself. The evening food in the restaurant was delicious even though the room was compact as there was a function in the main room. The hotel is a bit out of the way but the train station is less than 10 minute walk the views from the hotel of Vesuvius and the bay more than make up for that. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

"Great hotel with the best views in Naples"
_vmm0611, 15 Juin 2016

Booked this hotel after reading trip advisor reviews and it did not disappoint. The hotel is a bit out of the centre of Naples but this didn't bother us at all. Rooms and bathroom clean and comfortable. The hotel had a lovely terrace off the restaurant and the views were amazing. Breakfast was on the terrace so a good start to the day. Breakfast was the usual and good coffee. Dinner at the restaurant was also really good. We found a little wine bar across the road that was good for a light dinner or snack if you'd had a big lunch and didn't want to go into town. Staff were very friendly and helpful

"Not very good"
Los234, 10 Juin 2016

After our holiday travelling around Italy we chose to stay here at the end or our holiday to have a "luxury" last night. Our first impression of the hotel was "nice view but what is there to do". It's pretty far out of town and the hotel only has a roof terrace to offer some leisure which is a bit rusty around the edges. The staff the nice enough and the food the restaurant sold was very good and that why I gave them 2 stars. After this there isn't much to shout about and I would recommend staying somewhere else if your looking for somewhere in Naples. This place is very over priced and feels out dated and like I say stuck up on a hill miles away from anywhere. On our second night they hosted a wedding. This meant that the only nice leisure area was closed and for dinner we where shoved in a side room to eat. This was okay but after we got back to our room we were kept up until 2 in the morning hearing banging and scraping on our ceiling and after asking at the desk to keep it down that just said there was nothing they could do. I feel this is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel and can't understand the rating myself having worked in the hospitality industry most of my life. Having returned home we got in contact with best western the try and resolve this issue but they didn't seem to care, we just got insincere apologies and rubbish explanations so I personally won't be returning to a best wester and I think I've made a wise decision. P.s. To the guy who reply to all these comment on trio advisor please don't bother as it was you who contacted us from best western and we were not happy at all with your response so please don't bother with it again

"Enjoyable Week"
Wendy B, 08 Juin 2016

We had a lovely room overlooking the Bay of Naples. We travelled into Naples using the funicular down to the train station and then into the main station which worked very well and was really cheap. The restaurant and food was excellent. The waiting staff very friendly and efficient and nothing was any trouble. We found Naples very dirty and untidy but it was worth a visit.

"Fabulous views & great food at Hotel Paradiso!"
GreatScotLondon, 06 Juin 2016

Amazing views of Vesuvius and the bay. The rooftop restaurant was great and the Angus steak was the best I have tasted in a long time as was the tuna fish. Our rooms were comfortable and the staff (mostly) friendly and helpful. I can understand Robert B's comment about not the best location for exploring but the Funicular is really close to the hotel and it is a fast, cheap trip to the harbour. The service runs frequently and so exploring was not an issue for us.

"Stunning Views"
K8261FTrobinr, 01 Juin 2016

The views from our bedroom and the restaurant were stunning as was the food we had when we eat there. The staff were very helpful and the hotel close to public transport so moving around the city was cheap and quick much faster than by car. Highly recommended

"A poor location "
Robert B, 31 Mai 2016

I could not recommend this hotel for exploring Naples. The hotel and rooms are fairly standard for a Best Western but the location makes this hotel a poor choice. It is in a hill overlooking the bay which is nice but the practicalities of getting to the centre or a restaurant is a real problem. You can spend about 13 euros for a 15 minute taxi ride - as long as you don't mind standing on the street and waiting for an empty taxi - which took about 20 minutes because the hotel would not call one for us. If you want to take a 15 minute walk to the metro that can work but you have to go through a rough area frequented by vagrants to get there and the walk back up the hill is tough. Other issues included a room overlooking a laundry in the building next door. The hotel closed the dining and bar facilities on the Saturday night for a private party - and I recommend you get to breakfast an hour earlier than the closing time because they like to pack up early.

"City break"
Lindseyfb67, 31 Mai 2016

View from hotel was incredible definitely worth the money to get a sea view, lovely to wake up to and to see at night Breakfast at the hotel was your standard continental breakfast but you could sit outside or open the windows for the views Position of the hotel not too bad there is a 1€ funicular just up the hill a but to take you down to Mergillina which is lovely lots of nice restaurants and good sea front walks Good value hotel

"A few nights with a view!"
LondonBig_G, 29 Mai 2016

Booked this on the basis of favourable reviews, the opportunity to try staying in a different (and apparently up-market) area of Naples and for the views. Well the views from the rooms with sea-views are amazing - some of the best views of the bay of Naples available. Hotel Paradiso sits near the top of a big hill overlooking the town and Bay of Naples, with uninterrupted views towards Vesuvius and the Sorrento Peninsula. My room (on the third floor) had a lovely large balcony and superb views. It was smallish but reasonably well appointed with air-con, a good flat screen TV, decent storage, safe, bathroom (shower only), electric shutter to cut out all light from outside. The view from the 5th floor dining room and terrace was even better! we ate dinner on one evening: good pasta and my pepper steak was superb, whilst my friend's pork loin was a bit dry. Service was fair in the hotel and quite friendly. It was rather out of the way and we ended up taking taxis far more than expected (there was a cable car down to Mergellina, but we tended not to have time to use it and walking to other restaurants was not really an option). The area around the hotel is very pleasant and feels safe. Within a few minutes walk are some handy cafes, bars and shops and so it is not really isolated. Overall it is a pretty good standard 4 star hotel in a nice area - if you eat in the hotel or one of the nearby cafes or have plenty of time to take funicular and walk to restaurants, then it will work a treat!

"Our visit was really good once we were used to the traffic and the Italian drivers!!"
robert b, 26 Mai 2016

The staff were extremely helpful and would do anything for us . The hotel is in a fantastic location with wonderful views of Mount Vesuvius. The funiculare is a five minute walk away and is an excellent mode of transport into the center of Naples, it is a good service. The breakfast could have a better choice and fresh fruit instead of tinned, the scrambled eggs were dreadful.

"disappointed"
Chadgiles, 16 Mai 2016

This hotel is all about the view. Very clean. However we were not given the double aspect room we booked, but one which overlooked a large occupied window. Were supposed to be moved on day 2, but on coming back from a trip out were told maybe the next day. After a fuss, we were moved up 1 floor, still not the one we booked. Very upset that my birthday went unacknowledged as it had been particularly mentioned on the paperwork. Menu was limited, as a non pasta eating vegetarian i could only order a plate of cheese! No restaurants in easy walking distance either. Management seemed more interested in their 2 corporate events and places were hence off limits to us. A special mention though to Francisco the waiter who was the only friendly and helpful member of staff.

"Italian first unpleasant experience"

We arrived in the evening, some what tired. Saw quite few people hanging in front of hotel with mess littered all over. We booked with Best Western expecting US courtesy and english speaking staff. The person at front desk was indifferent, no smile no greeting. When tried to get some info to about in Naples not much help. Stayed 5 days last 3 days no water , no shower for 2 days, 3rd day we have to juggle to take shower. There was no juice in the breakfast that time when I asked what water has to do with juice they told us the same tap water they use to dilute the juice. I thought they use the filter water in everything. The rooms were comfortable. It was good we were out all day and didn't have to deal with staff, either they didn't speak english properly or they didn't have much to tell to make our trip easy to make it less hectic. I will not choose it next time, as u come out the sight is not healthy with garbage all over from the market they have everyday there and a hang out place at night.

"One of the most beautiful views in the world."

Everything about this hotel is positive except the service in the restaurant whether for breakfast or dinner. The maîtres d'hotel (I counted several) need to learn to smile and create a sense of unpressured welcome for all their guests.

"Excellent Stay"

Myself and my husband spent 3 nights at this hotel recently. The hotel is situated just outside Naples with the most breathtaking views. I would recommend a higher floor with a view of the bay. We dined in the restaurant and the meal was lovely. We sat on the outside terrace after our meal taking in the beautiful lights of the city. Just perfect. Our room was adequate, although mattress a little hard. We would have liked air conditioning as it was very warm at night, but this is just a small negativity. Breakfast was wonderful as was the coffee. There was a great selection of cereals, pastries, scrambled eggs, fresh juice, more than enough to fuel us for our busy days. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

"A room with a view"
PatriciaLoum, 15 Avril 2016

If you can, ask for a sea facing room as the view of the bay of Naples is breathtaking. Smaller rooms have showers but our seafacing room was larger, bigger bathroom with a tub. The private balcony was a big bonus. The roof top breakfask was very Italian with good selection of local pastries and cheeses. The coffee was fantastic!! Service was excellent, staff were multilingual. Special mention of Domenico for being the most hospitable frontdesk manager I have ever come across during my travels. Its not how fancy a hotel building is but how at home you feel that makes the difference for me. In Naples I felt welcome.

"Great place to stay with beautiful views"

Fantastic hotel aslong as you are not on level 1 which is a smoking floor . We were rehoused on level 2 with sea views in 2 adjacent double rooms (great for family of 4). Good big rooms , clean with good housekeeping. All staff really helpful especially reception . Wonderful views over Naples.????

"A wonderful short break, with two other couples"
Helen T, 27 Mars 2016

The rooms at this hotel are not the most modern I have ever been in but they were spotlessly clean and the staff at the hotel were lovely, the location is a bit off the beaten track but if you don't mind walking or getting a taxi, there are stunning views of the bay of Naples. We (6 of us) visited Pompei and climbed mount Vesuvius whilst we were on our very short 3 day the hotel organised a driver for us, the driver took us to Pompei waited for us, then drove us to Mount Vesuvius. It was a fabulous short break, made special by the staff at the hotel. Thank you Hotel Paradiso Staff.

I chose hotel Paradiso to spend one night with a university group of 40 people. Despite the great number of people, everything worked smoothly, thanks to Mr. Sorrentino and the rest of the staff, who have been always available and reliable. Everyone in our group appreciated the stay; clean room, stunning view, amazing breakfast, and kind staff. I definitely recommend it and we'll chose hotel Paradiso in the future!

When I stayed there with my mom, we had a very good experience of good staff, room, facilities and breakfast. I'd recommend the place for a short break in Naples. Good location but please be aware when walking alone on the streets (female traveller specially)

"Mount Vesuvius + Bay of Naples = Great View"
John K, 07 Octobre 2015

The view from the Hotel Paradiso doesn't get any better than this. The accommodations and staff made out trip in and out a breeze as they helped with transfers and ferry scheduling. This is our second stay in our two trips to Italy and when we return to Naples we will again stay at Hotel Paradiso.

"A wonderful holiday"
NickiMcB, 05 Octobre 2015

Recently stayed at the Hotel Paradiso with my mum for 10 days and had a fantastic holiday. The views from our balcony and restaurant were magnificent. The staff on the reception were really helpful throughout our stay and we were greeted by the cheery cleaning staff each morning. The room was very comfortable, clean and air conditioned. Best of all were the restaurant staff who were very attentive and a special thank you to Francesco for our coffee!! and great service also to Salvatore, Mauro, Gerardo, Fabio and Davide. The food was excellent and would definitely recommend staying here - we didn't want to come home!!

"Really good stay"
TaeB158, 05 Octobre 2015

Hotel clean, a little out of the way of city centre but good base to explore. Very friendly and helpful staff, one waiter (Gorado)?? Was very attentive and made us all smile whenever he was on duty - we wish him all the best. Hotel staff were accommodating and gave good advice when booking excursions. A positive experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

"best dorm room ever"
David G, 28 Septembre 2015

the hotel is situated high above the Gold of Naples with amazing views. It was a busy week and they had a single room. The room was no bigger than a dormitory room but it was extremely well designed and comfortable. The view from the room was grand with the Golf of Naples and mount Vesuvio. To be honest, I was delightfully surprised that Best Western, an Amercian chain, has such lovely properties. Domenico, the concierge, has been at the front desk for over 30 years. It feels like a well run family operation. Breakfast is lovely overlooking everything. Will definitely return
