We had a wonderful sea view balcony. Everything is clean, food is great and staff is super. It is in a quiet area but a shuttle will take you up the hill to Vico Equence where you can shop, dine or take a train to Pompeii or Sorrento. A boat stops at the pier everyday that goes to Capri or Positano and Amalfi. I would like to thank specific staff for their extra help and friendliness. All of the staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpfull.
The hotel is okay- fairly run down and quite a distance from sorrento- not a high quality hotel-it's on the beach, but if you desire dining or shopping you need closer lodging. With a Cosmos tour and they only use low budget hotels, so not a caliber of hotel many desire.
Our room was filthy dirty, mold on the floors and walls, dead bugs and debris on the floors, a dead crab in the bathroom, we also found a live crab and put it outside. (We have pictures) Only one of the windows had screens so we were unable to open the windows or doors to air out the apartment which smelled of mold. The sheets on the king bed smelled like they had been sprayed with bug spray so they had the maid change them when we let them know about the smell. The shower leaked and caused a flood in the bathroom. The washing machine was broken, it took 3 visits to figure that out and it was not fixed during our visit. The staff offered to have their in-house laundress wash our clothes, they were returned wadded up in a ball. The white and dark clothes were washed together which resulted in a white linen jacket to be ruined by blue dye from the jeans it was washed with. 3 of the items were then sent to the dry cleaners but the damage was too severe to correct. It took several visits from the phone tech to try to get our wifi to work, we were finally given the staff info and passwords so we could get on the internet. The room description said there was an oven there was no oven in the room. We asked if we could be moved to a room in the main hotel, we were told there was nothing available. We later found out that some people we met had been moved to other rooms. We asked several times to speak with the manager they were never available. We were not offered any compensation for the issues. The pictures on the hotel's web page look beautiful, not sure how long ago they were taken because our room looked like it hadn't been touched in 5-10 years. This IS NOT a 4 STAR property as stated on the web page. We would be hard pressed to give it 1 STAR! It was truly the most disappointing portion of or trip.
There were ants EVERYWHERE and when we told the hotel staff, they did not Care. They told us that, “that's just how it is” On the website it shows multiple pools but you only get access to those if you pay. No one told us, nor was it visible on any website that the pools costs extra. Nowhere did it say so on the website, and no staff informed us of this. We therefore used the beach. The beach is decided into to areas. There is the one with rocks, which of course was for the hotel guests, and then there was the sandy part of the beach which was for all the locals…. Makes sense??? When you Enter the room you have to use a keycard, wich only worked 30% of the time, we therefore had to go to the reception every third time of using the card… practical!
We paid €2,000 for a six night stay in one of the 2 bed apartments. The place was nothing like the photos advertised on the website, it was really shabby, run down, the AC wasn't working and it was absolutely crawling with ants. They were covering almost every wall, in all rooms. We were told this is how it is in the summer. We went back to reception and complained, to be fair they did get us another apartment, but we really had to argue the point. The photos on the website show multiple swimming pools, but you only get access to the sea water swimming pool, you have to pay extra for the others and they are adult only. The nice sandy beach closest to the hotel is for people who pay into the beach club and being a hotel guest does not give you access to it. Hotel guests are shooed down to the end beach, where is is rocky and away from the amenities. You are not allowed to choose where you sit. Makes no sense why hotel guests are shoved in a small area, as the main beach subbed as laid empty all day. Food in the main restaurant is overpriced and mediocre at best, I would suggest eating at one of the other restaurants along the marina. All in all, I was disappointed. This hotel is not what it appears to be online and although the staff were helpful, I felt quite ripped off for the money we paid.
I unfortunately paid for a standard room, the room given was small and basically furnished. It did have a small tv above dressing table so missing a mirror, with fridge and kettle but coffee or milk sachets not available. (milk obtained from outside hotel bar) It had a large comfortable bed. We had access to a terrace with a staircase in front, other rooms also could use this space which was not cleaned so had cigarette ends and plastic cups around. The chairs and table were dirty. The bathroom was narrow, no shelfing, sink drain needed unblocking and small shower unit positioned in alcove. For some reason the wardrobe rail was positioned high up so had to stretch. The breakfast room was nice on top floor with all around windows looking over bay towards Vesuvius. Buffet breakfast with limited choice. No freshly prepared station but heated trays for eggs, sausage, mushrooms, also some cereals, juice, salads and cheese. tea & coffees served to table. Did not go hungry but monotonous after a week. The beach is sectioned and hotel guests are allocated to one side, members have the other. However, when asked to sit near the sea I was told that was reserved. Similar situation by the pool, beds for members chairs for guests. The Wellness pool area was very nice and this had to be booked. normal loungers free and mattress style extra cost.
Firstly the staff we met, both on reception, at breakfast and by the bar were lovely. However this is not a 4* resort. There are too many rules (no kids allowed in the wellness centre where the decent pool is). There are 2 maps of the resort located near to reception but in our whole week there I still couldn't figure out how to get to certain areas, the pics of the place are misleading as what you have access to will depend on what accommodation you have paid for. Its location is good if you want decent beach access and not to be in Sorrento itself. We never ate dinner in the hotel as we felt it was overpriced and there was more choice in Vico or Sorrento. They have a schedule of activities which means that a couple of hours a day you are subjected to loud music on the beach. Impossible to read a book and get away from the noise. The shuttle bus to Vico is ok but the driver is rude, and the bus needs replacing due to age. It was always late leaving. It didn't operate between 12 and 4pm. We stayed in one of the self catering apartments. It was bright and airy and had lots of space. Frustratingly there was only a mirror in one bedroom and the bathrooms, also the air con didn't reach the balcony bedroom as it needed to be situated higher on the wall. No toaster or microwave were provided and no tea towel. The pot scrubber was in a disgusting state and needed to be replaced. The window didn't close properly. It was really hard to know about the available facilities in the resort. There was no info sheet and you had to ask at reception for most things. All you are given at check in is a shuttle timetable to Vico and a train timetable. Despite it having multiple pools, there is only 1 smaller one that kids can use and only one area of the beach that residents can use. The hotel rooms appear to have beach towels provided but there were none in self catering. The resort very much has the feeling of a beach resort for locals/ day visitors with a hotel tacked on. The hotel seems to operate partially with the main restaurant only used for breakfast despite its stunning views. It's stupidly busy around the beach at weekends so only go to the beach in the morning unless you want to be met with long queues for the bar and ice cream. The local village of Seiano has a handful of restaurants and a small mini market based at the campsite, where there is also the best priced, tastiest food on offer in the attached restaurant. You can catch a ferry to Sorrento 3 times a day from the harbour but we only found out about this by accident. We may return but only as our expectation would be different. A few easy changes could make this resort a lot better. An information sheet detailing services and local info and how to book, beach towels in self catering, an exclusive bar, restaurant for residents and better signage in the resort itself.
Just ok. Over priced. Supposed to have a Sea View, but the only way to viiew the Sea was to hang over the ballcony over to the side, to get a glimpse, The layout of the hotel was very odd. Many hallways and up and down stairs Even with the elevator. It was clean and rooms comfortable, foood good, but for the price, i was not impressed,
Beautiful spot for some relaxation! We enjoyed a couple days here and had a great stay. Staff was helpful and professional, beds comfortable, and the resort fun to explore. We found the food choices a bit limited and stated/posted open hours for getting food a bit confusing. We enjoyed some snacks by the pool but otherwise ate outside the resort. There are several places right outside the gate you should try. We got breakfast foods and snacks for our room fridge. It would be nice if resort guests could use lounge chairs at the pool, but we did read that wasn't what they do. We could take over a cafe table next to the pool ladder. We enjoyed our beach lounge chairs and ocean swimming with beautiful views very much! Bathrooms could use some updating, but everything worked fine. Laundry in the apartments was greatly appreciated! Beautiful walk with amazing views from the main hotel to the apartments. It was Easy to book and take a shuttle up into town, also walkable and you should walk up and down at least once. We loved the town itself! Train was super easy for a Pompeii day trip and then heading to Naples. We probably would not stay more than three nights but we would recommend you check out this great spot!
This is a very well run resort, with every employee we met, very friendly and helpful. I would have given an 'éxcellent' rating, if the bathroom and in particular the shower stall was larger. I'm not tall, nor wide and it was a struggle to move, once in. There also needs to be a lot more shelf space, in the bathroom, for personal vanity items.
Honestly we just love this place. It is just wonderful - incredible staff, so friendly, delicious food, so much going on! If you want a really quiet holiday then perhaps this is not for you as there are many events happening in the evenings - from weddings, to tastings, but you can get away from it all and move to another area. Food delicious, well run beach and we did not encounter any member of staff who was not highly friendly and polite. Very well staffed. Rooms comfy and particularly the beds and bedding. I would highly recommend to anyone. There is an amazing new beach bar/lounge called Cava Regia at the very end of the property - so cool!
Le Axidie is a very good place to stay. The accomodation is complete and clean. Vico Equense is a nice place and in the area are a lot of places of interest.
This is a true gem. The pool spa area was so worth it with various pools to try with a waterfall and warm temperature.. The beach area was nice and staff superb. This is an enormous beautiful resort with so much to offer. Everything was great accept the small bathroom. I would come back!!
I gave this because on the last day we were leaving, the receptionist said they would call police on us just because we mentioned we were not made aware of any extra bill. The conversation wasn't even up to 3 minutes he immediately wanted to call the police on us, why? He ruined our entire trip and maybe because we are blacks who knows?
Charming hotel with lovely spa in Vico. By the beach, and breakfast was delicious. We stayed in one of the small bungalow-style villas and enjoyed it very much. Overall, great experience for us!
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le Axidie and have no hesitation in recommending it. The room was comfortable and clean. The balcony view was outstanding. There was a huge choice of food for breakfast and the staff were very welcoming.
Salvatore in breakfast area is very welcoming and humorous. He is an excellent representative of Italian hospitality. Stephanie, although her English was limited, was attentive as she made our cappuccini and Earl Grey teas. Another bald taller younger man is almost rude and dismissive as a waiter. Front desk ladies were very kind and efficient. The room 49 was quite small but the bed was very comfortable. Our fish dishes and desserts were excellent. Road access for a location at sea level. Ferry access is two minutes away walking. Overall a lovely place to stay.
Friends and I traveled to Italy at the beginning of September. We stayed at the Le Axidie for 8 days. It was absolutely fantastic. The staff was friendly , professional, and knowledgeable. The resort was beautiful, and the amenities were excellent. The restaurant was superior. The cocktails, beer, and wine were delicious. Everything was very reasonably priced. Salvatore, Christian, Anna, Peppe, Serafina, Filomena, Stefania, Gipsy, Gina, and Daniela provided exceptional food and beverage service. The chefs and sommelier came to our table on several occasions. I spent a couple of relaxing days at the resort's wellness center and had a wonderful massage and pedicure. We also went on several adventures. Ferries, trains, and the hotel shuttle were readily accessible to get you where you wanted to go. The resort also had a couple of special events while we were there. I highly recommend Le Axidie if you want an extraordinary experience.
This is a very nice place with a beach. You can order food and drink from your lounge chair. Beware, you will need water shoes as it is rocky. The restaurant is excellent. Salvador gives great service as well as the other servers. I don't know their names. Manager is Christian and he does a great job. The property is huge. Think there are 5 pools. The hotel is very quiet. My room is not huge but ok for two of us. Nice view of the sea and Mt Vesuvius. Front desk was quick and efficient. The housekeeper is a doll. From Nepal. It's a great value as well.
I feel like we got extremely lucky with this hotel. We booked it randomly from booking.com and at a very reasonable price, considering the cost of the prices when I looked after! When we stayed there, it was pretty empty. There were a few other couples or young families staying, but considering the size of the multiple pool areas and the beach, there was plenty of room for all of us to feel like it was a private hotel. At one point, my partner and I had the whole pool area to ourselves from lunch time until it closed! We did stay mid week, and I felt it was very much a spa hotel that locals use for a nice spa day. But as a guest staying there, this was lovely. The shuttle up to the town is regular, but easy enough to walk back down. Be warned though, there are a lot of steps. We are two healthy late 20 early 30 year olds and we had to stop half way because it was tough! If you have knee or back problems, be careful! The food at the hotel was nice. Lots of choice at breakfast and a perfect view of Mt Vesuvius. It was just surreal every morning to be eating a bowl of fruit looking out across the sea. We didn't actually have dinner in the hotel, or lunch. We went out most days, apart from one day where we staying around the pool and ate at the pool bar. One evening we wanted to eat in, went down to the restaurant to find no one there. We then asked at reception and was told that it was by the lower pool level. Asking at this area, the waitor said it wasn't open until 8pm. It was actually 8.15, so he checked with a colleague and told us they were also closed for food. In the end, we went along the promenade to one of the restaurants along there. It was perfectly fine, but considering we'd eaten along there the previous nights, we were hoping to just stay at the hotel as the food along there was all very similar. Overall, it was a perfect stay. The views, the quiet areas, the weather. It was amazing and made me want to book another week immediately!
An absolute gem at the bottom of the cliffs with its own beach club. Most amazing views. Beds very comfy. Showers great. Everything you need on-site from ice cream to gorgeous food. Breakfast just lovely in a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views. Very accessible to main town of Vico Equense and train station to Naples, Pompeii or Sorrento - use hotel bus or local bus nearby. Hotel staff just lovely and extremely knowledgeable with arranging tours, taxis, restaurant recommendations. Sunloungers fab and no-one steals your space lol. We didn't use the hotel pools much, but stayed down by the water on the beach. Beach is stony, but has paved areas, but crocs kicked off at water's edge made it easy to hit the balmy water! A really relaxing stay! We had 2 fab rooms (family of 4) and the most amazing huge terrace with fabulous views across the bay. Will be back!
Never known such an overpriced hotel be so basic. You cant use the pool and beach that you pay alot of money for unless you jump through hoops to book? I thought if you called yourself a 4 star then the facilities were complimentary/part of the price. The wellness Centre has about 100 beds.. and even with only 6 in use they make out there's no room and you can't use it incase the locals want to use it that day??. The food is actually laughable. I don't understand why you get told where you can sit on the beach? Its all the same beach? Terrible all round service
We are a family of 4 with 2 older teenage daughters. Our stay at Le Axidia lasted 10 days and we absolutely loved it! The hotel was lovely, the rooms had all we needed and where as they had been described plus the staff where soooo friendly! I'm not sure I would describe it as a sort but this may be my lack of understanding what makes a hotel a resort?? Breakfast was a highlight offering a great selection of food, an amazing view of Vesuvius all while being assisted by the lovely Salvatore and his team! Our Italian is embarrassingly poor and we tried our best but we where so very grateful for the patience of the staff who tried to help us with our questions about restaurants, local trips, etc.. Special thanks to Anna on reception who made us feel very welcome! The hotel beach was well kept and staffed by some enthusiastic lads including Matteo who was very helpful. Be aware there is a big rise in popularity at the weekends and for this reason we chose the wellness area pools at these times for a more peaceful day. (no kids allowed there) We did experience a bit of confusion being asked to move from beds that we couldn't use on the beach and by the pool and not really being told the reasons but once we discovered that some areas are rented out for the summer and guests with packages while the hotel users are given a designated area it was all good. The wellness area is lovely and peaceful with soft music and no children... it was perfect for chill days! Anne Marie the hard working lady that keeps this area in check was a friendly face who looked after us and deserved a medal for dealing with all the animated guests that wanted the one sun bed they couldn't have each day! lol (make sure to reserve your beds with the reception) Lunch options at the hotel consisted of using the fine dinning restaurant or the snack bar that had a lot of choices if you timed it right! (Go earlier rather than later as your choice is a lot less. More choices seemed to appear on weekends) They had pasta, salads, pizza slices, panninis, pastries... Also within the wellness area you can order Poke bowls and sushi. We never ate in the restaurant which is clearly the hotels pride and joy! While I would have loved to eaten here sadly my fussy eaters turned their noses up at it! It looked amazing and I'm sure it was but the fine dinning option wasn't for us and it came with a hefty price tag! We chose to take the very short walk to the marina where there is a couple of pizzerias and seafood restaurants as well as a sushi restaurant. Please note that if you are looking for a bolognese or Lasagna you won't find it here! lots of seafood pasta, lots of pizza and not much else was on offer. We chose to hire a car for the duration of our stay and are glad we did! One night we drove to Sorrento just to find pasta without seafood! lol (we aren't big fans of it) Driving was an eye opener but nothing as bad as we thought! As long as you are prepared to accept that there will be a lot of fearless moped riders, stop lines don't mean stop, momentum has right of way and beeping is not aggressive but more of a courtesy warning that you are about to be undercut/overtaken/cut up.. its a great experience! We chose to drive the 30 mins to Sorrento - one hour to Positano and 30 ish minutes to Pompei (We didn't bother with Naples, The visible smog covering it and the over population made it a place we chose to avoid other than driving to and from the airport) TRIPS - From Sorrento we took the 20 min ferry crossing to Capri (about €44 each) buying the tickets when we got to the port. You can buy tickets to the funicular railway from the tobacconists at the port before you cross. This saves queuing for tickets on the other side! We took the short trip up and walked around the very fancy boutiques. It is very high end and if you have money to burn I'm sure its great! We didn't so took the ride back down. We then got a bus ticket to Anicapri and the chair lift to the top of Monte Solaro. This is totally worth it! Great views and a peaceful ride but if you have a fear of hights and issues with Safety it may not be for you! (no seatbelt just a bar across your lap that isn't fixed) We chose to skip the bus ride back to the port and instead got a taxi (€30) back down to avoid another sweaty bus ride. Positano is beautiful (and busy, as was everywhere!). We wandered down the pretty (steep) paths to the beach for a swim then wandered back up the other side. the views from both sides are stunning. We also took a walk up Vesuvius and around Pompeii. We purchased our tickets from the ticket offices at Pompeii for both trips. They both came with an english speaking tour guide which was worth having. We used a half day for each trip and this was enough, not because we didn't want to see more but because the heat was too much and the shade too little. Back to the hotel- There was a shuttle bus to take you up the hill to Veco Equense town - we never had a need for it as we had the car but was useful to know. The kids club looked good!, like one we would have used had the kids been that age. The kids pool was one depth - deep! The beach was more child friendly but small stones and defiantly required beach shoes for comfort! Plenty of on site parking if you do decide to hire a car (drive through the big tunnel) My only request as a guest would be for a fact sheet explaining the beach use/sunbed rules, a menu for onsite food availability/prices and times, and the cleaners to understand that the do not disturb sign on the door means - do not disturb! lol I was very grateful for enthusiastic cleaners but not when they enter without knocking or reading the sign! Thank you for a lovely stay!
Pros- Staff were incredible and helped us so much! Great resort with all different room types (doubles, spacious family rooms, some with ocean views etc.) They had a light blocking roll down aluminum awning to protect from the early morning sun also. Heated and unheated pools, ocean front loungers with umbrellas including bar service from your chairs. Oceanfront breakfast buffet with omlettes, pancakes and coffee service (macchiatos are amazing). The restaurant on site was outside under a canopy overlooking the ocean and top notch. The walkable area around the hotel has a few restaurants / bars and the ferry dock is right there. It's quieter than Sorrento or Positano, but we liked that. There's even a shuttle to get you up the cliff and into the town of Vico Equense. Cons- Pools and beach club close at 7pm each night! We weren't expecting that. Rooms were a little sparse and sheets and pillows kind of old. Overall it was a great stay!
We stayed in an apartment on this resort for 3 nights and I am glad we weren't staying any longer. While the hotel looks lovely & modern the apartment we stayed in was old & musty. There were also a lot of ants on the kitchen & bathroom floors. When I look at the pictures online of the resort - I feel like we were staying in a different location entirely! Very misleading.
From the moment we were greeted by Dario and Giaccomo we knew we were someplace special. The soaring trees lining the driveway in with the towering cliffs seemingly suspended above you, the resort is nestled into a bit of scenery carved by the hand of God himself. The Med to your face, the cliffs behind, and mighty Vesuvius commanding your attention across the waters. This is your view from the pools, the restaurant, the bar, the breakfasts room, the roof top room, and every other incredible amenity I failed to mention. The clean, modern yet warm lines and furnishings in the common areas as you move through the resort serve to give the mind pause from the constant assault of Nature's wonder outside. The rooms were well sized, modern, tastefully decorated and amply sized for comfort, with the bathroom being slightly small for American tastes, it was plenty fine for the two of us for the week we were there. Bed was comfy and the pillows fine. The breaksfast room is NOT to be missed. 5 stars. Christian and Salvatore, the Maitre d' of the hotel and Breakfast Manager respectively ensured a fine dining experience at every turn, and Salvatore could not have been nicer, more congenial to my wife and daughter, really made it special for them. The Buffett itself is beyond compare: Fruit juices, fruit, cheeses, meats, savory pies, sweet pies, croissants of multiple types, eggs, sausages, roast meat upon request, omelets, crepes, and I am not getting it all!! Along with their fine esspresso, cappuccinos etc..,, each morning was a feast of epic proportions, each morsel cooked by Pierpaolo, and served and attended by Stephanie, Guisy, Filomena, Serafina and Gina, wonderful professionals all, with many pulling additional duties(yup, I'm talking about you Serafina!) to ensure your family etc.. is having the tikes of their lives., The outside restaurant, and Risto bar were so great. Nightime cocktails overlooking Naples at night, lighting up Vesuvius's profile, afternoon snacks and Limoncello spritzers…..so many great people there, but I'll never forget how sweet, professional, outgoing and just plain fun it was to be around Danielle. And if anyone looked cuter with a Vespa helmet on, well I haven't met her. All the guys and girls who worked the pools and beaches would literally run to accommodate your every need. Drinks, etc.. right to your chair. I simply cannot say enough about this resort and how where it is and who works in it combine to make the perfect Amalfi Coast destination. Do not walk, RUN to your booking provider of preference and make the reservation. If you understand at all the concept of La Dolce Vita, you will not regret it,.
The Hotel is wonderful. The stuff are extremely friendly and kind. Also the restaurant is great- really delicious and typically italian food. My boyfriend and i, we had a wonderful time here. The beach is super, the view and everything. We highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant! You can spend really good time here!
We were in the area for work and took a couple days extra to relax and enjoy fall on the Amalfi Coast. We were so lucky to find Hotel & Resort Le Axidie, it checked all the boxes and exceeded expectations. The resort has a private beach, swimming pool, and outdoor heated pools that are just beautiful. The bar and beachside bistrot are always staffed and ready with drinks, snacks, and lunch. Rooms are spacious and spotless. The cleanliness is amazing and the fragrance everywhere makes you feel like you're in the tropics. Views are unbelievable, the Vesuvius is right in front of your eyes, towering over the sparkling blue bay of Naples. Food was excellent, the fabulous breakfast buffet complete with eggs and bacon, as well as the gourmet restaurant, both rooftop so with the ultimate vista. A shuttle is available to take guests into the town of Vico Equense. For a change of scenery there are a couple of restaurants and a cocktail bar just outside of the resort property. We highly recommend Hotel & Resort Le Axidie for your next Amalfi Coast vacation!
We enjoeyed our stay very much. The staff is so friendly and helpful. It is a relaxing place with an excellent service. We loved to be by the sea in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The beach is good for swimming and the wellness area with warm waterpools are great to relax.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the spacy apartment close to the beach. The whole resort is well kept and beautifully situated - nice beach (rare in this region) - we are sure to come back - highly recommendable!!!
I left the resort with mixed feelings. Staff, location and food was good, but facilities was really worn down. Our bathroom had a shower head that almost didn`t stay up, shower drain was clogged and the toilet seat was broken. When I asked them to look into this they had a look, but didn't fix it. The light switch in the bathroom was also broken. We needed to press the button several times each time to make it stick. The rest of the resort could use a proper facelift in general. Compared to the price, it was not worth the money. I expected higher and cleaner quality. Easy to get to Sorrento, Pompeii and Napels by train. We also did a one-day cruise to Positano and Amalfi. That was very nice and the boat picked us up just down by the harbor from the hotel, which made it all very convenient.
I would not recommend this hotel whatsoever. We felt unsafe and experienced horrendous customer service. We stayed in an apartment without a lock and the staff treated us so horrendously because we complained about the lock situation. A short lady with short brown hair as the front desk was specifically horrendous and very patronizing, acting like we were in the wrong for feeling unsafe in a room without a lock especially as women in a foreign country. The previous family broke the lock and they did not replace even though we were promised a locksmith and they did not bring it up again once. This is breaking EU laws. We stayed for 2 weeks in a room where we had to padlock our room from the outside and this was incredibly unsafe in the event of a fire. I have attached a picture of the substitute for a lock below that they never fixed. Also, there was 0 room cleaning service which was incredibly poor basic hygiene. We only given sheets and towels once in our 2 week stay and were refused any more. They would arrive a day later than asked for and they were left in a bag outside on a table. I have attached a picture below. The room was unclean when we arrived and they did not clean the room once. All they provided in the room was a broom. Mugs and cups were dirty and chipped, saucepans were dirty and the shower head was broken. It did not stay up when we showered, we had to hold it every shower. Also you must pay for the use of the pools and the beach. For a four star hotel none of the amenities being complimentary was shocking and it was not said on the website at all. This is an extra expense of a few hundred euros and even if we wanted to use the beach, the italian guests had booked up all the beach chair spots so we couldn't even use it. The staff offered no alternative and did not care in the slighest. We only got to use the pool because of our lock situation. Because we complained about the lock situation, which was their fault and we were made feel like it was ours, the hotel staff treated us with such disdain. We would get glared at and scowled at, made feel as unwelcome as possible. When we went to the pool we would get seated at the back in seats beside the bushes when the majority of the seats at the pool were empty. They would argue with us about giving us towels INCLUDED in the price we had to pay to use the pool. We would not be allowed more than 1 umbrella, when most were unused and there was a group of us. It was such a horrendous experience and the staff were so unfriendly. They do not welcome anyone who is not Italian. We had no lock the entire time and we spent as much time as we could away from the hotel as they made us feel as uncomfortable and awful as possible. They lied about a locksmith fixing the door and we were so intimidated to keep asking for one. Not worth a cent we paid for.
This hotel is absoutely fantastic. It is off the beaten path, but is everything I had wanted and more. It is quiet and serene. If you are looking for the hustle and bustle and business of a tourist hotel, this is not the resort for you. It is about 20 minutes from Sorrento and 45 mintes from Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. I will defintiely stay here again.
We had 4 nights booked, the first day was amazing the pool was peaceful, clean, plenty of sun loungers, the view was amazing, unfortunately we didn't get down to the beach the weather had a turn for the worse. If the weather was better we would have a better experience of the hotel, the hotel it's self was lovely, reception staff were lovely, always smiling. Hopefully we're come back soon and get better weather. But we had a great trip.
We stayed for 5 days. Enjoyed our stay. Perfect place for travaling around the Amalfi Coast ... to summ up our impressions about Le Axidie: nice room, good breakfast, helpful staff, lovely pool(s), perfect beach. We definitely recommend ...
The hotel is located in a fantastic location for day trips to other parts of Italy and overlooking one of the best views. It is in a peaceful location, not too hectic. We walked up to Vico Equense each night and ate some fantastic food at Titos Restaurant (highly recommend). However, if you don't want to walk up, the hotel provides a free shuttle service. The Wellness Spa was a real highlight and the beach was lovely. We had a superb stay.
The hotel is not in a touristic area and that worked for us because got to enjoy the quietness and were able to relax and connect with the Italian culture. Staff was amazing! Food was good with the exception that the special events did not have vegan meals included. We are defiantly coming back.
It was a very nice stay in the le axidie Hotel! Perfect to have an enjoyable holiday at the Beach and to explore capri and the amalfi coast. Especially the beds and the breakfast were very good. Grazie!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le Axidie. We were not sure if we should stay in Positano or Amalfi, but because we had a car, we decided to stay in Vico Equense, then take ferries or buses around the area. This ended up being a great decision. The hotel itself was excellent! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended the best ways to see Amalfi/Positano and Capri. We ended up taking the ferry from the dock in front of the hotel to Positano and Amalfi. It was a full-day affair, the boat ride was long, and the time in each town was short, but we enjoyed it very much. We then hired a private gozzo (small boat) to go to Capri. It was also a full-day, but our entire family loved this tour. The captain took us around the entire island (we didn't go into the blue grotto due to the long wait), and we saw several other grottoes. We were also able to swim off the boat as much as we wanted, and we spent a little time in the smaller port town (Marina Piccola). The boat ride from Vico Equense was slow and long, but it was a much more relaxed day. The hotel's beach was awesome and the water was great! There is a great view of Mt. Vesuvius from the hotel, and it was amazing to swim and eat with the volcano in the background! The kid's pool was full of kids and not as inviting as the sea. The hotel restaurant was on the roof deck, which offered great views of Vesuvius. We ate one dinner and all of our breakfasts there. The food was delicious and the wait staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel also has free parking! And there are several good restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. We even found great gelato in one of the local restaurants. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Vico Equense and the Hotel Le Axidie.
The hotel and staff where exceptional , the location was great as we were an hour away from Nepals via Train, Via Ferry we saw Sorrento, Positano, and the Amalfi coast in a day . We booked a private boat to Capri via the local excursion company. the local town has lovely restaurants and the hotel provide free shuttles to the train station and town , lovely resturants recommended by the hotel. Anna at reception was just a delight in everyday and had gone above and beyond to plan our trips and restaurants for my son and I . The hotel pools , private beach and spa was lovely . we had the best time in Italy . thank you .
The hotel and facilities are good with a great beach front location but the surrounding port area - while pretty - is small with limited restaurants/things to do. The main town (and train station) of Vico Equense is NOT within walking distance although there is a hotel shuttle and public bus available right outside. We relied on public transport while here and felt it was a chore to leave the area due to timetables and non-air conditioned trains. We did travel to Pompeii and Sorrento (numerous times) while here. Staff were excellent throughout and the hotel/rooms etc were very clean. Noise seemed to travel easily from the surrounding rooms (crying children/footsteps/plugging appliances in and out) which was frustrating through the night.
We found Le Axidie on Expedia on Expedia and let me tell you the pictures don't do justice it is more beautiful than you see online. The staff was very friendly, Anna at the front desk made excellent suggestions as this was our first trip to Naples region / Amalfi coast. Other than hardly any vegan options all around smaller towns like Vico Equense, our trip that included a daily boat trip to Positano and Amalfi and day trip to Pompei (guided tour is highly recommended) was magnificent. We would revisit and do this all over again anytime.
We had an amazing experience at Hotel Le Axidie. Great location with beautiful views, courteous and knowledgeable staff (special thanks to Anna and Daniel), and awesome resort. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Each family member found something to do and have fun: the beach, the pool, the spa, and the tennis court… I am definitely recommending Le Axidie to my friends.
I recomand this hotel. It has everything you need for a great vacation. Great location, good beach, great breakfast, free shuttle bus to city centre, sunbeds and umbrellas for the beach were included in the price
There were some exceptionally good things about this hotel/apartment, and some that were a bit annoying. The kitchen was a bit underequipped, but the rest of the apartment was good. The wardrobe only had 5 hangers, this was not enough for the 2 of us, but the apartment actually slept 4 people, so that would have been even worse. The location was perfect, walk to the ferry boat, or a short trip to the local railway station and you can easily reach Sorrento one way, Naples the other, via Pompeii Vesuvius and Herculaneum. The trains are regular and good value. The only slight problem was the courtesy minibus to the station was sometimes full and we could not get on it, if you have planned a trip this means you either have to delay waiting for the next minibus, or take a taxi. The view from the hotel over the bay of Naples and Vesuvius was amazing, very beautiful.
We really enjoyed our stay. A very kind and helpful staff. We had issues to pre-pay a visit to the Vesuvius. Daniele could book the visit for us. When we arrived in Vesuvius booking office, tickets were ready. Clean rooms, good breakfast. Big terrace with nice sea view. We really can recommend this hotel.
Loved the hotel facilities and the Vico Equense location, ideal for sea boat trips and a relaxed location, with dining experiences within Vico Equense resort varying from burger/pizza to 2 michelin star food.
This Awesome little hotel is perfect for a relaxing vacation for couples, family and friends. We loved its quiet location on the beach with a pool and spa. We took advantage of all of it. The from the front deck staff to the Wait staff- they all had impeccable service and gracious demeanors, the food was AMAZING and the outdoor dining area, right above the water's edge was lovely as the sun set. The chef sent many special appetizer and dessert dishes to our table without prompting. At sun set we would have drinks on the upper terrace overlooking the whole property with amazing sunset view. Breakfast was extensive with a view from the roof top dining room (something for every one) from yogurt and granola to pastries, fruit, cold cuts , veggies , cheese and eggs. juice and wonderful espresso drinks all including in the price of the room. The Spa and adjacent pools were a delight, clean, quiet and inviting. We even had a terrace pool at the top of the spa complex all to ourselves one day! I can't say enough about the front deck folks. Daniela and Guilia, who helped us navigate tours, taxis, shuttles and trains to make it to our many destinations on time . The whole experience was delightful. I am so glad we booked with Le Axide Resort!
Very comfortable! Very attractive people and the place pops off. It's very reccomended for anyone. There is all in a few space: beach, swimming pool, parking, wellness and seesighting by cruising. That's very interesting.
Welcoming staff and awesome front desk Romantic location with great view and excellent location. Food and breakfast are great the only part is lacking are entertainment. Nothing is going at night even a music....very quiet place!
I personally thought this resort was amazing! It was in the most beautiful location I have ever seen and I have traveled all over the world. The beach was amazing, there was plenty of chairs. The Wi-Fi worked great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They set up taxi service and other things for me and my wife. I thought the rooms were nicely decorated with beautiful tiles. And when you walk around the resort all you can hear is birds chirping and beautiful flowers. It was very very nice! There is also several restaurants on the property that are good but there is also a few others very short walking distance down the bay. Before I bought this property I saw some bad reviews on other platforms, I almost did not book it because of it and it would've been the worst decision ever. I honestly do not know how someone could leave this place a bad review. But unfortunately on all platforms you just have miserable people, because this place was absolutely amazing!
Fab hotel off the beaten track. If you want to chill then this is the place. Wonderful restaurant, carmine and his crew will spoil you. The wellness centre and the views are just amazing. We will return.
We booked this very last minute with no research. Well what an amazing find. A magical space tucked away in Amalfi coast. Everything you could wish for for a few relaxing days. The staff are amazing and big shout out to Carmine and his crew, Maria, Giosy and Tiziana. They truly spoiled us in the 5* restaurant The views are special no matter where you look. The wellness centre is a must. We will be back to this piece of heaven. A very lucky find.
We found a great deal at Le Axidie on the Sorrento coast (Vico Equense) during our trip around Naples. Best location, amazing view on the Vesuvio, warm and friendly staff and great amenities. A+ to the wellness area which is a perfect spot if you wanna relax and switch off. The lady at the desk welcomed us with a big smile and gave us recommendations on the surrounding area.
We had a wunderful stay. We used the tennis court every day. Excellent breakfast and pool bar. Magnificant views. The staff is super friendly and helped a lot with excursions possibiliuties in the area. Really top staff. In the same street a wunderful restaurant called Mustafa with all the Italian food you want allthough no pizza's. Perfect wines as well.
A beautiful hotel, right on the beach, facing the blue Mediterranean sea and the world famous Vesuvio. We had an excellent ocean front room with a terrace. Breakfast in the roof-top restaurant, overlooking the sea across the Vesuvio, is breathtaking - with fresh fruit, cakes and pastries, antipasti and the best Italian coffees to be enjoyed every morning. The wellness center has a variety of cooler and warmer pools, a large jacuzzy, Kneipp-style wading pools and a smaller pool with a sauna, enclosed by a beautiful garden. The views, here again, are magnificient. There is a large salt-water pool by the beach. A nuumber of good restaurants (suitable for every taste and budget, including a sushi- and a Michelin-star-place) and lovely bars are in walking distance, as is Vico Equense by a ancient but really steep "stairway" going uphill. If you prefer to take the free hotel shuttle to Vico, you still should take the stairs back down again. Must-do's: Dinner at Mustafa, drive along the Amalfi coast, Sushi at Murrano Mare!
I had a great time, very helpful and kind staf. All facilities are really great It has the perfect location to visit other places nearby. The hotel is in the middle, so if you want to go to Positano, Sorrento, Pompei etc you don't spend more then 30 min to drive to the locations. The beach and pool and all other facilities are at your service great hotel !!
The staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful. Loved the location and charm of the hotel. Breakfast was great. The beach was well organised and clean. The wellness centre was fantastic and the pools were amazing. Our stay was exceptional! Thank you!
My family picked this resort because it is known locally for being nice and of high standard. We have been left highly disappointed. I don't even know where to start. I would say that the hotel is definitely not worth the price. The look and how it is kept is not of 4 stars standard. The paint is coming off on the outside of the building and the whole place looks like it's frozen in time... From the 60s. The breakfast "buffet" (if you can call it that way) is very small and charged at an additional price of £12 per person (on top of the already extortionate fee for the room). In addition, they don't cater for allergies at all. I have a dairy allergy and my mum can't eat gluten and, in spite of us complaining to the reception several times about this, there is nothing to eat that does not contain milk or gluten. The most shocking thing of it all is the complete lack of care for social distancing and cleanliness. We had ants on our balcony constantly. The beach and the bistro are both completely packed with people without any attempt at keeping a safe distance. Access to the beach and other facilities is open to the public, even if you are not staying here, which means that it gets to such a crowded point that you can't even get into the water from the beach as there are too many people. Same story at the bistro. No distance between the tables and no attempt at controlling the number of people that can get it at any one time. It appears as if their motto is "the more the better". I also witnessed one of the waiter reuse one of the paper bags they use to bring bread to the table. It was one he took from my table, that I had touched and eaten part of the bread. He had the audacity to take it, add some more bread to what was already in there, and give it to another table. The staff make no attempt to wash their hands or wear face masks properly. Reception staff often just have their face masks around their necks or other staff wear it with their nose out, which is completely pointless. There are signs to wear a face mask indoor for hotel guests but no one enforces this so no one wears a mask. Have not felt safe at all and will never come back. I don't recommend paying this much for what you get.
We were traveling througt Italy and our last destination was this hotel. A few days to relax. We booked a room with seaview. When we came in the room there was only a view on a blind wall. After a meeting with the reception we get a new room. (47) This one was much better. There are a lot of nice swimming pools and other things to relax. The only problem wad that our bathroom smells like a sewer.
