"Wonderful stay"
wonderful location: near city center/Railroad station
"Hotel Dei Mille, Small, clean comfortably.."
The Hotel Dei Millie is centrally located in Napoli, just a few hundred yards on side street close Piazza Garibaldi Station providing easy access to local amenities, shops, cafes, resturarants ideal location. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy, fresh towels provided daily. The mini fridge was free and topped up daily. It has a safe, tea coffee facility. The cost for 3 nights was good value booked through booking.com only few days before. The location is fairly quiet slept well, The room has plenty of usb charging points so no addtional travel adaptors required. Showers were clean and hot. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Modern and updated building compared to the older rustic buildings its surrounded by. A great base for exploring Pompei, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius, by train. Highly recommend this hotel.
"Terrible street. Handy for train station. Good quiet base to go of for travels. Not far from airport"
The location is definitely questionable! Not at all Italian as you imagine. It has a large amount of African and homeless and kebab shops. A little uneasy very scruffy. However it would make a good base if you want the main train station for travels. Close to airport. We walked to hotel using google maps. Got taxi back as bit uphill. Be careful as taxi do try rip you of. Hotel itself was in middle of getting done up, very nice fresh decor. However the lift is so useless, and they were doing the decoration on the stairs, we could not get down from top floor and were stuck ages 20mins having to wait for lift as no one wanted/could move from the stairs. Breakfast was included but very strange selection foods. They will cook pancakes for you if asked. And also the coffee was good. Fresh fruit was also nice. Staff some friendly, a lady in the restaurant didn't get her name was so nice. Views from rooms awful. Had to laugh about it. Good if you like to walk lots to walk to and see. Hopefully the decorations get done soon. Not sure how but lift situation needs sorting. I didn't find it noisy the windows really do keep the sounds from streets out. Room small, bathroom okay. Items in fridge were included, and all the soaps and extras were a nice touch. Won't stay again. Not the best experience. Supermarket was nearby. Good prices. Train station has lots inside shops, and food. Staff helpful. Pizza kebab place just at the end of street was lovely. And friendly. Although not actually Italian, food was good. Don't really have a photos from hotel as too embarrassing. Will post some from the areas we walked to.
"Friendly staff and nice hotel"
It's been mentioned in other reviews about the location of the hotel. As two women travelling we never felt unsafe in the area around the hotel. Yes the street is a bit scruffy but it's similar to other cities we have been to in Europe, where the streets near the central station are in need of a bit of a clean. We didn't encounter any homeless people sleeping in the street as others have mentioned, even when leaving the hotel early in the morning to catch a train. The hotel itself was very pleasant. We were greeted with enthusiasm by a lovely lady at reception. She chatted to us whilst we found our documents and wanted to know more about our bags as she was looking to buy one that fit airline restrictions. She originally said the room was not ready but we were welcome to use the toilets on the 1st floor, by the time we came back down she said the room had been made ready and we could check-in. The porter had already taken our bags to the room for us which was very considerate. The hotel entrance was very clean and there was a seat opposite the reception desk. There are stairs up to the lift and the lift probably only accommodates one or two people. The room was huge and spotless. The soundproofing of the windows is very good as we were situated at the front and didn't hear any street noise. We had one of the rooms with the large jacuzzi bath. This takes quite a long time to fill up. They provide you with robes, slippers and bath salts which is a nice touch. The jets were quite powerful although one of them seemed to only shoot out cold water. The shower had good water pressure and kept a constant temperature. The bed was very large and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. There is a desk and a fridge in the room as well as storage but only staying one night we did not use these.
"single night stay in Naples"
Not a great location in Naples. Small building with terrible elevator. Does not go to ground level, must climb steps with luggage. Beautiful and comfortable room. Pleasant staff and very good included breakfast.
"A Bad Experience"
The location of the hotel is on a street with homeless people sleeping on mattresses on the sidewalk steps from the hotel. Garbage is everywhere. I had mistakenly booked the room just for myself, but traveled with my wife. Nothing was said at check in about extra charges for the extra person. I was expecting to pay for breakfast for 2 people for 2 days. Instead I was charged 100 euros for an extra person in the room. Totally unprofessional. I would not stay here.
"A great tourist hotel, good value"
The hotel is located in a great location close to transportation like train and metro stations, and a 20 min walk to the busy food street in the Centro Storico. The rooms were modern and recently renovated and the air condition was great as it was very hot when we staying last week. The hotel staff could not have been any more helpful and the breakfast was pretty decent. The street where the hotel was located is a bit scruffy but never felt unsafe .
"Good location and great Breakfast"
We found everything very good and enjoyed the big kingside bed they offer. The breakfast was second to none which I enjoyed very much as a platinum member. The location is right where we needed it. Not too close but close enough to the Naples Central Train Station.
"Avoid this place"
A tired, old, hotel in the middle of a slum. Not for families, or really anyone. No water pressure, no WiFi above the third floor, and dismissive staff. Railings in the stairwell were detached or held on by electrical tape. After we left, the staff requested feedback, which I provided. The manager has been arguing with me for two days via email about the feedback they requested. The neighborhood is the biggest concern. Garbage, graffiti, and homeless people everywhere. My kids were scared to go out for dinner and we made sure to be back before dark. We saw the police arresting a few people outside and when this was mentioned in the feedback form, I was told this is “synonymous with safety “. We mentioned where we were staying to one of our tour guides and were told this area is “not for tourists”. Just stay away.
"Horrible experience"
Start with the only positive, room was ok and clean. The entire experience was horrible. The staff was rude, not handicap friendly and location is sketchy. It's like being in Bangladesh. Lots of drunk passed out guys in front of the hotel. Super loud. We booked through a travel agent and they will definitely know not to send anyone else here. $186 a night was a rip off. Oh, and before you sit down to eat breakfast, you should know that it is only free if you book directly through them. It is not free if you book with Expedia or Travelocity and obviously booking agent. They will tell you after you start eating. Horrible!!!
"In overall 70% satisfied."
When arrived our first impression wasn't that good in terms of the hotel's entrance, as well as it's reception (it looked like very old, damaged and not renovated for ages) , but fortunately our rooms where renovated, as the photos shown in their website (superior double rooms), with well-working air-condition, small fridge(supplied with some free snacks and soft drinks) , hair dryer and safety box. WiFi was really poor, we didn't have signal almost at all during our 5days-stay there. Breakfast was tasty, many options for sweets and salty tastes, and the ladies serving were very kind and smiling, willing to help, despite the fact that their English wasn't in good level. On our arrival they wanted to charge us more for the tax fee per night, while we weren't informed for that before our arrival, but we sorted out and agreed to not pay the difference in the end. We could leave/store the luggages for free for a couple of hours after our check-out, which was very helpful and nice from them. The location was good as it was 2' on foot from Garibaldi central station and 15-20' walking form the historic center, but bad in terms of neighbourhood (too dirty street, awful smell outside hotel from street's rubbish etc and the feeling was strange in the night walks, you could feel kinda unsafe due to the people living and walking around that street-especially when talking about family booking with kids). Also while our stay there some renovations were taking place and the elevator was all the time busy and we had to wait some times to get down from 5th floor or use the stairs eventually. For its prices, it was okay the overall experience.
"Couples holiday to Naples"
The area that this hotel is in is absolutely awful - really didn't feel safe walking around the streets. Convenient location for the train station tho Rooms are very tired looking - marks everywhere on the walls, but bedding and bathroom clean. Shower head wasn't working properly tho. Staff were ok, cleaners were very rude though, tutting at us for going down the stairs while cleaning was taking place. Ok if you're desperate for cheap accommodation but certinaltly wouldn't stay here again
