Although the 4th star is a little bit of an exaggeration, it is certainly a good hotel. The only drawback I see is that windows do not provide enough acoustic insulation, and the rooms facing the main street are quite noisy all over the night. Rooms are nice, although they are a little bit on the small side, while the bathroom was quite spacious. Clean. Breakfast ok. A rather complicated parking system, so allow for 10 minutes to have your car back.
The rooms are small but clean. The mattress is comfortable. We had two rooms. One of the windows overlooked the road, so it was quite noisy. The hotel provides earplugs to compensate for noise. There was one significant drawback - one of the rooms was very hot and stuffy. The air conditioning system only operates on heat. Therefore, it was not comfortable to sleep. Opposite the hotel there is a tram stop that goes to the center in 30 minutes. We liked the restaurant near Ristorante Dal Re. 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall, if it weren't for the poor sleep due to the stuffiness, the hotel would have deserved an excellent rating.
We arrived after a delayed plane and also long coach journey and we were fairly tight for time to shower and attend our restaurant reservation. So we were in a hurry. The lady said hello to my wife and then proceeded to answer the phone as we were preparing to check in. My wife and I looked at each other confused as the phone-call continued for over ten minutes, including logging onto a screen. We would understand if the receptionist was on the phone when we arrived but to answer a phonecall when new arrival are standing waiting to check in is just rude. Nice hotel all the same, but a poor first impression
Location: It is away and not directly connected with public transport, taxi costs around euro 21/- . tram 14 station is just across the street and it can take you to the Galleria. Room: The basic room and what they provide ear plug, when I saw it next to the bed I was surprised but I realized by night that there is no barrier between road traffic sound and your bed uff... it was horrible. No tea or coffee making facility, need to pay euro 5/- per day for Kettle Staff: Truly Professional
Recently stopped here whilst travelling to Milan to watch football at the San Siro Hotel is nice inside and very clean, beds comfy, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made the trip, particularly the reception staff A little bit of a way out from the centre but rapid taxi service solves that problem Thanks for a great stay and we will definitely see you again
I didn't expect to get this service from Mirage hotel during the time I was in Milan. unfortunately I can't recommend this hotel to Milan visitors as one of their options if they are travelling to Milan. I had a chat with personnel about the cleanliness, WIFI quality, fridge problem, lights in the room, breakfast quality and hope in future they pay attention to improvements.
Nice hotel near City Life. Rooms clean, comfortable bed. Receptionists extremely kind, in fact it rained and they provided me an umbrella for a commitment that I had outside the hotel. Parking assistant very polite. Remember to book in advance the parking space.
Perfect choose when you stay in Milano! The room was clean, reception is so friendly and helpful, public transportation from the hotel to the centre is perfect, only 20 minutes. Good choice, I recommend them.
Strategic place in Viale Certosa, not far from Tangenziale and well connected to the Center of the City. Clean and comfortable in the hall and the common environment as well as in the room. Excellent bed quality, good space in room and stable WIFI connection make the Hotel very suitable also for Business. Rich Breakfast assortment, professional and kind employees.
The staff was very helpful with everything, including suggestions for local food, parking suggestions and ease of tram tickets access and stop in front of the hotel. The maintenance arrived promptly when we had concerns about the heat in our room.
Been at the Mirage for 3 nights . The hotel ia a littel dated, rooms and public areas. Some of the rooms which face the main road might be not very quiet (the ear plugs near the bed, were definitly a warning sign..) Brakefast buffet is ok. Dont bother with hotel restaurant in base floor. Its 15 min. Taxi drive from fiera, and 20-25 min. With tram 14 to city center/ Duomo area. Nothing special. Geuss u can find better foe the money.
Well located for me, because of service of shuttle to the Leather fair I was attending. also convince of the tram service just outside door to get to central Doumo area and surrounding for seeing Milan made it very easy . Staff very friendly , very helpful with all questions. Hotel is very clean, with good value for money.
Some staff was very friendly and kind. Taxi service was wonderful, just asked front desk to call taxi whenever we wanted , then it always came in 5mins! If there are some coffee, tea, or a pot in our rooms, it would be better, but wasn't a problem! Next time if we have another chance to come here, would love to try breakfast buffet!! Thank you-!! FYI: there is a tram to go to downtown in front of the hotel. It's about 20mins by taxi to the Milano central sta.without traffic jams, about 16euro 24hours opened Super market nearby
Very well organized in very good location close to exhibition grounds business hotel run very well . All staff very friendly and very helpfull .Very stable staff so every year I can see the some familiar faces with is very nice .
Doesn't look "appealing" from the outside, but the room was quite good and clean! The personnel was REALLY helpful from silly questions up to booking my transportation etc. Fool set of amenities/bathrobes/sleepers. I will consider this hotel if traveling for family vacations.
The hotel is situated 20 min. By tram from the tourist heart of Milan. The car park is a real advantage in this city and well priced with the loyalty card. You are fully serviced by a very friendly staff.
From our check-in to our check-out, the staff were exceptional. Warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a great and appealing ng selection. The scrambled eggs and potatoes could have been warmer though. That would be the only flaw.
Visited this hotel in September and stayed for 2 days with family . We had a 3 bed room. Room tiny, with average comfortable beds. Room rather old style in need of modernization. No kettle in room, unless for extra charge. Towels felt rough. Bathroom and WC not properly ventilated, tiny and low class, rather a 2 star. Breakfast was average but rather a 2 star, with artificial juices. Staff were friendly and polite. For Milan which is a expensive city, a good price, but not a four star.
I had a lovely stay. I did not have the breakfast. The staff I met were all lovely. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable and I slept well. I loved how they put recycling bins on each floor. And also the contribution towards Life Gate sea bins to collect plastic and micro plastic from Italian harbours.
Excellent hotel, the staff was amazing and very helpful, food was delicious, very good WiFi connection.i would definitely go back and I highly recommend hotel Mirage for the excellent services. Thank you
Nice hotel not in the center of Milan but with good public transportation ,TRAM 14 just outside of the hotel. The ride its takes 25min to DUOMO. Good and quaite area with meny typical tratorias around.
The staff and kind and gave excellent service. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent and just what we needed before heading to the airport for a very long flight. I would return to this hotel
Stayed here to attend the Italian Grand Prix. The hotel location was excellent affording good options for a selection of restaurants in the area. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were well serviced and very clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and very good value for money.
Great hotel a little far from main attractions. Excellent room for my family with two teenagers. Would recommend. Wished it was a little closer to main attractions. Over all great and would stay again.
Comfortable clean room. Tram 14 right outside to take you downtown. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Good and inexpensive restaurants nearby so you don't have to walk far. McDonalds is down the street if you just have to have American fast food.
I really liked this hotel, the rooms were great, they had a good breakfast and tram stop was across the road. I didn't like the fact that there was no tea coffee making facilities, you could hire a kettle for 10 Euro. We asked for a late check out of 4 hours and we were charged 60 Euros which is basically a nightly rate, I thought that was a rip off. The hotel is out of the main centre but still in a nice area and the tram takes you straight to the centre.
Stayed here for a meeting in Milan at the Congress and found it to be perfectly fine - clean (although very small) room and spaces, right on the tram line and in what feels like a safe neighborhood - nothing fancy, and not in the center of tourist activity, but fine and functional and decent price. There's a supermarket a block away, which is helpful. Best of all, the air-conditioning worked fine even though there was a heat wave and I was up on the 5th floor! This was not the case at a higher-end hotel I also stayed at, so bravo to them!
Over all very satisfactory, the speed of the lift shall be looked into. The location is very good. The response of the front desk is quite professional. Ventillation and Airconditioning system is also OK. A small suggestion - at the entrance it is better to brief all the guests about emergency procedure.
Our stay at Best Western was ok and I recommend this hotel for a short visit in Milano. I visited Milano with my family and probably when I intend to return at Milano to visit Como area probably I will stay at Best Western.
Great hotel with amazing staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Even though it 45min away from the centre, the tram stop is right outside the hotel and not being in the heart of the city means its nice and peaceful at night. Bathroom is impressive with a huge bath and you get all the little nice extras as tea and coffee in the room. There are 2 supermarkets less than 5 minute walk away - Lidl and Carefour. Lidl has much better service. There is also a huge supermarket maybe 10min away in a shopping complex with a huge selection of products.
We stayed for a long weekend and couldn't have been happier with this hotel . Clean , comfortable room with jacuzzi bath . Excellent knowledgeable and polite staff . Breakfast selection was the best we have had in a hotel in Europe.
The hotel is adequate for the price, the room were tight, but clean. The breakfast, it nice, the staff very polite also from the reception. The gym could be improved. It´s 35 to 40 minutes to the center (Duomo), but is availabe the tran.
Clean and Spacious Rooms. Rooms with wifi, usb charging, a Safe and a Mini Bar. Bathroom very spacious that included a Bath and a Bide. Hotel offers an excellent Breakfast, Cooked and Continental, fresh fruits and espresso or capuccinos on demand. Reception staff is helful and friendly. Location. Hotel is situated just near 2 major tram libes that take you directly to centre. Excellent value for Money.
Excellent hotel to stay during visiting Milan. Wonderful, discrete, professional staff. Big, spacious room, lovely and comfortable bathroom. Clean and comfortable. A fabulous breakfast. Easy access to Milan centre. Thank You
Great location , good and sumptuous breakfast and very courteous reception staff , stayed for 5 days had great time Rooms good size , wifi quality good Very near the main road , tram 14 stop very near the entrance , so public transport was easily available from the hotel also walking distance good Italian restaurant for dinner.
Me and my partner ended up staying here when the original hotel we booked moved us here due to over booking at theirs. At first we were put in a room that was on the front of the hotel that was along a busy main road - as I am a light sleeper I asked if we could be moved to a room on the side of the hotel that was overlooking a quieter road - they couldn't move us for the first night but did for the rest of our stay and it was a lot quieter. They moved our luggage too which was good if them. The rooms were fine - clean, big bathroom, hair dryer etc and have to say the beds were very comfy and huge!!! Slept very well. The hotel was placed across the road from a tram (tram 14) that took you straight to the centre in about 25minutes. They ran very regularly which was good. You could buy the tram tickets from the hotel and at €1.50 each way was a lot cheaper then taxi. Breakfast was fine - very limited hot options but lots of cake, fruit, bread and pastries - we filled up every day :) All in all considering I didn't originally book this hotel I was happy with it and the staff were helpful and accommodating. I would stay here again if I visited Milan again.
The hotel was very nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The room size was great, as were the bathroom amenities. My only issue was that it was very hot and stuffy in the room when we checked in, and we were informed by management that the AC system was off for the season. We opened the window to cool down the room, but there was a lot of road noise, as the hotel is on a busy street, and we had a hard time sleeping. The hotel should consider having their HVAC system on year round for their guests' comfort as it advertises that heating and air conditioning are available, but not that it only works during certain parts of the year.
Very Helpful staff, quick to attend and courteous. Glad they have parking inside the hotel top avoid having to park on the street or the median. Room is well distributed even though it was small it did not feel cramped
Very good 4 star hotel - breakfast is good but could have a few more options - other than that - quiet hotel especialy given its on the road - great location and great friendly staff - would highly recommend
Excellent service and helpful staff re local transport and good local restaurant ideas as hotel is not in the centre of Milan. Room and bathroom on the smallish side but perfectly adequate and comfortable.
Very high proffesionalists. The service was perfect, the room was clean, comfortable. The location is good, near metro and bus stations. The internet connection was excellent. I would like to stay here every time I travel to Milano.
Easy to reach from the Tangenziale, well connected to Center by Tram. Good comfort of the room, very good and rich breakfast, excellent service, kind and professional Team. Possibility of car paking in garage.
It was an average hotel with very poor breakfast service. Near the hotel was a tram stop, but no underground. I think that the price was really inappropriate, on the other hand the room was always clean. I do not recommend to order breakfast.
I stayed for 3 nights in early January, rooms very nice and quiet, breakfast is very good and public transport access is very good. Personally I walked everywhere it's about 5km away from the centre if your fit and able it's good to get the walk and see things you wouldn't otherwise, staff are very friendly and helpful
Nice hotel, clean, rooms comfortable with an high quality of sleep (and this isn't common in all hotel I visited). Crew very efficient and courtesy, the breakfast offer is enough but improvable and this is the only little criticis I could done. Despite this not important question I want to go back to sleep at this hotel
The room in the 1st floor was a bit small but the bathroom was big enough. Everything was perfectly clean. The system used to open the room door makes a loud buzz that can be heard inside the nearby rooms. The breakfast is very complete. It has fruit, juices (fresh orange juice with additional cost), cereals, croissants (vegan option), bread ( soy bread option), yogurts, cakes and different types of coffee (expresso, american, etc). The staff was friendly and efficient.
Me and my partner came here and had a nice weekend. Staff was lovely, hotel room was nice and cosy, also clean. Tram 14 to central takes about half an hour but is right outside the hotel so very easy. Not many restaurants local, I would not recommend the Chinese down the road. However there is a pizza shop and McDonald's close by. The restaurant at the hotel was unfortunately closed due to it being close to Christmas. The traffic outdoors is a bit noisy but the room we stayed in you couldn't really hear it too much. Breakfast was nice however there wasn't much hot option. My partner only had bacon and scrambled eggs. I stuck to the cold options because of this. Overall, was a good hotel. Would stay here again.
The employees at the reception were kind and helped us in any ways. The room was clean and in order every day. Good breakfast. Good ideas to sell transport cards on the reception and to offer coffee to the guests all day long near the reception desk.
Even if it is not in the center of Milan - the communication is perfect. The area seems to be safe. bnearby there are some pizzerias, restaurant and normal shops.I recommend the hotel to stay in business.
i would like too say a hudge thank you too all the staff on site for all the services they have provided for myself and my partner while in Milan. I was visiting Milan, while representing my country the UK in a big sporting event!, and it was of the upmost importance that while resting , that the nights be warm and comfortable, and relaxing so i could find piece of mind between the events, and that was exactly what was given. in addition too that the food that i had the pleasure of indulging in, during the breakfast, was superb , i found myself very much looking forward too the breakfast feast that was on, that i would have been happy to eat three times a day!. thank you all for your servitizo!, and on behalf of TEAMBG for LUDOSPORTUK, thank you
I stayed here on a recent visit to Milan - choosing it primarily due to price point and proximity to the San Siro stadium, where i was attending a game. The hotel is marketed as a 4* hotel, in reality it is closer to a 3* product in terms of room offering and interior but I found it great value for what it was. 2 nights B&B (full continental style breakfast buffet) came to €161 including city taxes. While outside the city, it is only 25 minutes via the No 14 metro that stops literally outside. A 24 hour public transport card was available at reception for €4.50 and staff were very friendly. The bedroom was slightly smaller than what would be expected of a 4* in mainland Europe but was very modern and clean. It had plenty of sockets and USB charge points, allowing you to charge multiple devices. The bathroom has a heated towel rack and there was a safe in the press. Bed was very comfortable and the mini bar was amongst the cheapest i have ever encountered. The main foyer and bar area are very basic, but you don't visit Milan to sit in a hotel. Euro for Euro it is a good option and considerably cheaper than the average city centre room rate. Worth considering if visiting Milan
Best staff Great rooms and clean The staffare very helpfull i like my visit at that hotel. They help me and send my bag vka dhl Just perfect to who wants to visit milan. Good prices and tranportation are good to center of milan.
Probably the best overall experience l have ever had at a hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left we were treated very well. The location was good. The no. 14 tram stops outside and goes right into the centre of Milan or a 12 euro tax ride.
Clean rooms, amazing bathroom, it takes approx. 25 minutes to the central Milan by public transport. The best part of it was staff, especially Simone. He was extremely helpful during all our stay. I even got medicine for a headache (it was late evening and the pharmacy was closed). They also provided an iron and charger on the last day. Advice to hotel: We were a group of 3 and 2 of them left earlier of the stay. I was the one who checked out and been asked to pay City Rent which was 45 euros in total. That's fine as long as this is told on arrival (as I usually pay at the other hotels in the world), not when we leave because I ended up paying by myself for all of us. Fridge in room 306 doesn't work and we bought some food and milk for the coffee that we needed to throw away the day after. All in all, I would return.
We stopped for a short city break, the rooms are very clean well maintained. The rooms are very nice a little smaller than expected but are very comfortable.. The staff are what makes this hotel, all very helpful and very pleasant. However the hotel isn't quite central so if planning to use public transport to get there from the city centre, requires a combination of metro and tram lines. The tram does virtually take you to the front door, however when we went there were some maintenance issues on the line which meant the team stopped 3 stops before the hotel However it did only take us another 10 mins to walk to the hotel. Hopefully this isn't the case anymore If you book and uber depending on the time you could expect to pay in the region of 20 to 25 euros to get there. However I can recommend this hotel, for comfort, staff and cleanliness, we did enjoy our time there
I stayed here for a night and I enjoyed it The hotel is very clean, rooms are comfortable with the good facilities. Unfortunately the bar was not open, it was under construction. I especially liked it because you can make the room fully dark, and you cannot hear the noise of the street.
We were on a business trip and stayed one night at the Best Western Hotel Mirage. The rooms are well equipped and very clean. The staff speaks perfect English. Special thanks to Domino who helped us find a parking spot near the hotel. Great service and very friendly.
I spent 4 nights now as I visited the Salone del MObile in Milan. The hotel has a special shuttle to the exhibition grounds and pick upo service at the end of the day. Convenient public transportation just in front of it to the Center of Milan. Service was excellent, good breakfast (additional charge of 6 EU per day). Comfortable room. Rooms facing the viale Certosa are more noisy than the others.
The rooms where comfortable, they have a good variety during breakfast and there is easy access to public transportation. I recommend it for solo traveling, business as well as couple. Additionally, the staff is very polite, attentive and helpful.
The BW Mirage is, in many ways, a standard nice hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable (although my neck and I will never get used to the flat pillows offered in Italian hotels), if not remarkable. The staff was friendly and courteous, even as we left at 3:30 AM to catch an early flight. While not centrally located, the hotel is very convenient, being right on the tram line connecting to the town center. I was nervous, hearing said tram rattle past, that our street-facing room might be noisy, but the hotel wisely provides heavy, automated shutters, which very effectively shut out the street noise.
Stayed in February 2017. Nice location, but not in center. Maybe 20 min by tram. Rich continental breakfast with big variety. Very comfortable beds. Excellent services.Very good value for money. Recommended! - after 22:00 h. you will need a taxi.
Rooms were awesome! Breakfast had a great variety. Great price just a 10-15minute trip into the city (or a nice long walk if you're game). I wish I got the name of the man at the front desk. He was amazing in organising us transport to the airport. There was a little bit of miscommunication with the driver but the receptionist sorted it all out for us promptly and with a smile. We really enjoyed our stay here and loved that we were greeted with a smile each time we walked back into the hotel.
Stayed in July 2017, price was okay , location out of town centre but great links by tram to centre, tram stop right across the road from the hotel . Tram tickets bought from hotel reception for 4.50 euros for 24 hrs travel on tram, bus and metro , great value. Room was small for a triple , breakfast was good .
Although it's a good 25 minutes from the city centre, there's a tram line that goes directly to the city. The price is a good deal less than the city centre. Friendly staff. Good value breakfast - Euro 6 for a buffet of fruit, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, eggs, coffee and juice. They even let us in early after we arrived on a morning flight.
Stayed 4 nights in the hotel (with my brother), and though the surroundings aren't that attractive, the hotel itself more than compensated, the staff in particular being most friendly and helpful. The room was air-conditioned (essential in 35C temperatures), and though not overly spacious (a twin-bedded room), it was more than adequate, with a wardrobe, safe, desk and an attractive bathroom with shower over the bath. The daily cleaning was to a very high standard. There was a little traffic-noise, but not obtrusive. Breakfast is served on the 6th floor, with a small outdoor terrace . There is a good selection on offer - the usual bacon, with scrambled eggs (plus boiled eggs), bread and rolls, a range of cereals with a variety of yoghurts, and a good range of juices and fruit (fruit salad and fruit in juice) including fresh fruit. With cakes and muffins in addition to all of the other food items there's something for everyone. The tram stops right opposite the hotel, and the 4.50 Euro 24-hr ticket is also valid on the Metro. If you're going to be in Milan for a few days (there's plenty to see and do), then I think you can get a multi-journey ticket. Whatever you buy, remember to validate the ticket in the yellow machine on the tram - failure to do so can result in a hefty fine! While breakfast was very good, evening meal options are limited. However, the Oasi restaurant - 1 minute's walk - offers good food, with very friendly service, at reasonable prices (the usual pasta/pizza, but also some meats and fish options. House wine costs 12 Euros for 1 litre. There are other restaurants in the vicinity, but we were happy to return to the Oasi each evening. The hotel is around 25 minutes from the centre - not a very scenic tram-ride, with lots of buildings sprayed with graffiti, sadly. At the stop beside the Piccolo Theatre (Lanza) you can easily change to the Green Metro line, which opens up lots of travel options (Do visit the Central Station - impressive!). On arrival at Milan airport we travelled on the Malpensa Express (20 Euros, return - lovely train) to Cadorna station and took a taxi to the hotel - 15 Euros. Would I return to Milan? - without doubt, yes. The same hotel? Absolutely! The abiding and over-riding impression is of a very clean and well-run hotel, with wonderfully friendly staff - I thought Guido must sleep under the counter in the Reception - he was rarely absent - but all the staff were equally welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very good value, especially for Milan, and can be heartily recommended.
When we checked in we thought the room was too big for us party of 3 and we asked to change but there was no willingness from receptionist . But after I got in the room I realized that it was a great thing we didn't change rooms that were connected . The room was very clean . The Hotel's location was far from the City Centre but there's a great transportation system in Millan and we got around without any issues of having to spend too much money with taxi . in my point of view what I liked best was the connecting rooms and having breakfast included . Overall it was a great experience for me .
Stayed here for two nights upon arriving in Italy. This is a nice, clean hotel. Staff are very helpful. Room is smaller, like most hotels in Europe. Has a nice lobby and a cool little bar off the lobby. It's a little far out from the city center, but the tram line stop is right across the street.
I was there for 6 nights. First the positives, it's on the main tram line, just across the stop on the main road. So it's always convenient wherever you want to go. Very good restaurants nearby so you don't actually need to go anywhere far for dinner. Helpful staff especially the reception guys. Reasons why I did not give it 4 stars, was that the breakfast was the same everyday. No change, probably since they started their operations!!! Second reason, the fitness center was a farce. It's too small even to accommodate more than 2 people. The treadmill and stationary cycle is probably the cheapest available in the market. No other gadgets to speak about. Even the yoga mat is missing. A single free weights. Found towel only on the first day. I really appreciate the staff for giving me email instructions to get to the hotel from the airport.
Cozy hotel, tram right across the street, 35 min of center, clean rooms, friendly staff. The internet connection is very hard to use - they have like a strange system to access it, not the regular choose the wifi and insert password. Small tv and bad connection, no good channels - only italian, bad quality. Overall, good price/quality report.
The hotel is great, the breakfast is really good, the location is good but the reception staff that helped us (the two that were there) were really rude and impatient in two different situations. The manager needs to pay close attenction to the guys in the reception! Meanwhile the staff at the restaurant were great!
Very good hotel in Milano, price very good in report of quality services, room clean, staff of hotel is very polite. If i come back in Milano for sure will bee in my first options. Parking is with payments at 18 euro per day
Good hotel for a 2 - 3 day business stay. Clean, quiet, nice, small problem with parking. Good, very cheap breakfast, it is possible to eat an evening dinner at the hotel. Good of connecting to a center
21/12/2016 Netrooo, Copenhagen, Denmark Nice hotel near centre.Warm room.I liked breakfast too. It is Clean . The staff was friendly. There's a tram stop just outside and line 14 will take you to downtown in 20 minutes.
Clean and in great condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not much to see and do in the neighborhood. There's a tram stop just outside and line 14 will take you to downtown in 20-30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk. If you don't mind staying on the outskirts and want to save a lot of cash, don't look any further.
Spent 3 nights here as part of visit to Milan and Venice. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Great choice at breakfast . All staff were friendly and helpful particularly the reception staff. Travelled from Malpensa airport to Central Station by bus, then Green Metro line to Lanza, then tram 14 (14 stops - to Viale Certosa Cassella stop) and Hotel opposite on corner. Easy access to main sites- Tram 14 runs regularly and takes 20 ish mins to Lanza, can then walk easily down Fono Bonaparte to Castle / Via Dante then to Duomo. Hotel Restaurant doesn't serve food every night however strongly recommend excellent restaurant nearby - Immagine, Via Varsina
We stayed few nights with my husband. I would say very good and high quality hotel. All clean, bathroom also very clean which is most important thing for us. And breakfast was so good. They even had fresh juice and plenty delicious food. Staff very friendly. It's a little bit far from city center but you have tram near hotel and big shopping centre to buy food or other stuff. So really recommend this hotel for short or long stay.
Stayed for 2 nights 7th-9th November 2016, great Hotel, very clean, lovely room, staff very friendly, great access to trams to central Milan. Well worth staying here. Breakfast was great, would recommend to visit..
We had two adjoining rooms and everything we ready when we arrived. the reception staff sold us bus tickets and provided instructions to get into the center of Milan. They had city maps and good restaurant suggestions. they could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was very good value at 3 euros per person.
My other half and i stayed from Saturday through to Tuesday and i cannot fault the hotel one bit. From the minute we arrived the gentlemen on reception were nothing but helpful, they helped with tram tickets, tram maps and everything else that we needed throughout our stay. Our room was lovely, perfect for what we needed which was a base to explore Milan. The minibar was a nice touch too and considering we asked for more alcohol we still spent less than we would have in a pub! The tram is less than a 30 minute journey into the centre and you can buy the tickets from reception. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all!
Stayed here when Saints played Inter in the Europa League. Excellent hotel with very helpful staff who made this stay even better, we've never stayed in a hotel abroad before and they made the visit more special. Breakfast was obviously different to what we're used to but delicious nonetheless, never ate lunch or dinner here as restaurants locally were well worth seaking out.
Your staff need to be more aware about vegetarian/non-vegetarian options as they put pork/ham in the same pot side by side with scrambled eggs and guests who are not aware about not mixing vegetarian/non-vegetarian food, tend to use the same spoon for pork/ham and scrambled eggs. As a result of this vegetarians who also eat eggs cannot have eggs because pork/ham is mixed up with eggs. Ham/pork should be served in a separate serving dish and should not be put side by side. Instead these two dishes should be put away from each other.
The hotel accommodation, staff and service was excellent however the restaurant (for evening meals) was closed during our stay. It is in a good location opposite a tram station and centre of Milan is only 30 mins away.
Stayed at Hotel Mirage for 2 nights, in a twin room with my 9 year old son, whilst visiting Milan for the football. Getting to the hotel from Linate airport by public transport was a little challenging, but going by the instructions I got off the hotels website beforehand, it all worked out. Sorry if this is long winded, but I found it very useful, so thought it was worth including. Take the no.73 bus right outside the arrivals terminal at Linate to San Babila stop (right in town centre), then the M1 (red) Metro getting off at Cadorna (about 3 or 4 stops from memory), then tram no. 19 (in the Roserio direction) from outside Cadorna station getting off at Espinasse Cassella (approx 16 stops - 30 mins). The hotel is on a street parallel to the Espinasse Cassella stop, about a 200 yard walk. This was the one and only time we took this route though, as on the main road opposite the hotel, there's the no.14 tram line which takes you directly to Duomo square, so much easier. Public transport can be quite intimidating in an unfamiliar, foreign city, but it is a very good, inexpensive way of getting round Milan. I purchased a 48 hour pass for €8.50 (kids are free and don't need ticket), which covered us for our entire stay....just make sure you get ticket stamped in machine on bus/tram when you first use it. Anyway, back to the hotel, which without doing it a disservice, is what I'd describe as ok and doing the job nicely. Although a little far out from the centre, the tram links work well and the room rate was good, making it the perfect base for our stay. Check in was quick, the room was perfectly adequate and clean and the continental buffet breakfast was alright.....but at €3 per person, it was good value. The staff on reception were always friendly and helpful too. It depends what your expectations are and although in my opinion I wouldn't really class this as a 4 Star hotel, for the price it was a great, good value base for a short city break to explore Milan.
Excellent hotel, room spotless. We had a third bed that made it a touch small but was ideal for us three. Breakfast typical European buffet but at €3 each was excellent value for money. Tram stop immediately outside, small Irish bar and decent Italian restaurant both within 150 meters.
This was included in a British Airways package & because it was booked almost two months beforehand, was very good value. The facilities were what you'd expect. The location is quite a long way from the city centre but there was a tram stop across the road. Which would have been brilliant if you could understand the map.
Friendly staff, nice Bar area. Good selection of breakfast food. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. 4 of us stayed 2 nights. It's away from the centre but the team is very convenient as the stop is opposite. Don't forget to buy travel tickets from reception that get you around.
Staff were friendly and helped when needed with good levels of spoken English. Cleaners left the rooms spotless and tidied up our stuff behind us even when we said just ignore it. Only bad thing is the long journey to the town centre and also the breakfast wasn't as good as expected, maybe because we came towards the end. Overall had a lovely stay and would definitely come back!
Convenient location right opposite the tram station, but there was too much noise of the road in our first floor rooms. Breakfast is good starting 6.30 am . Choose rooms on other side. Beds comfortable, bathroom good. Staff helpful. No complaints.
Approx 4-5km from city centre (1hr walk) however sat right next to the tram stop. The number 14 takes you right into the centre every 5-10mins until 2am and Milan has a great way to travel paying just €4.5 for a 24hr period on any tram or bus so works out great. Reception was good and helpful, room is good with hard polished wood floors, big firm but comfy bed and pleasant bathroom. TV is a bit poor with just 2 English tv channels but internet is good and free. A couple of negatives; our room was on the busier road side next to the tram stop and traffic whilst not mad is noticeable and despite the trams slowing to every 20 mins by midnight you can hear them. Breakfast was "ok" and the only real reason this wasnt 5 stars, very average with juice, continental and some dried scrambled egg, cereal etc,ok for a light start but dont think its a full cooked, the other very small point being the room tea/coffee cups, they are like dolls cups and a bigger cup would be nicer. Ut its a small thing. All in all with the convenience of the tram on the doorstep etc we would stay again
We stayed for 2 nights while exploring Milan. The staff was excellent; very helpful with directions and recommendations. (They recommended L'Immage for dinner--it was one of our best meals in Italy). The breakfast was a great deal--we enjoyed it each morning. Convenient to the Tram. The rooms were clean, comfortable (air-conditioned!), and spacious. Highly recommended!
Very nice hotel. The location is perfect (tram station just meters away), excellent price, especially for the time period I had been in Milan (Monza F1 race). Nice breakfast and the staff was very polite too.
Overall nice hotel, tram station is just opposite the street which take you directly to the Duomo Milano. The breakfast was normal however there are few nice restaurant around the hotel and Mcd was nearby too if you are going to have some fastfood.
We chose this hotel because it still had rooms available at a reasonable price for the F1 race weekend. It offered secure underground parking for 15 Euro. It is situated on the tramline # 14 for easy access to the core of the city. What we did not realize was that there were no easy connections to the subway. You had to take the tram to Cathedral Square then double back on the Subway to the Monza station before catching a bus to the track, in all a one and a half to 2 hour trip. The rooms did not disappoint and had some of the upper scale conveniences of the Best Western brand in Europe. They offered a comprehensive breakfasts on the top floor. Several restaurants within walking distance but the area around the hotel off the main drag felt a bit dodgy at night. We felt safe travelling a group of 3 couples but would not have ventured out solo. Overall, good value for Milan, but I would look for somewhere closer to the core for an average visit.
Only worth staying here for a couple days at the most. The staff are polite but not so friendly.me and my partner stayed in a standard double bedroom, which was nice and of a decent size. They have a nice selection for breakfast, the only thing that let's them down,is the quality of some of it. Also on our last day we planned on using the fitness room,to only find out it was out of service. As there were no signs or nothing was mentioned on arrival,we were very disappointed. The mirage is located in a very quiet part of Milan. There's not many shops or restaurants within this area. Staying here puts you some distance away from all the tourist attractions, but if you love travelling,It makes the holiday even more interesting. I recommend visiting the duomo area, there's plenty to do,shopping, tourist attractions, restaurants etc.
Stayed for the second time. Like almost everything about this hotel, especially its location next to the tram stop (?14), room amenities, cleanliness, hepful and pleasant staff, excellent breakfast for its price. The only problem - wi-fi disconnected several times.
We cannot imagine a better hotel experience considering the reasonable cost. It starts with the reception staff that are helpful. The can even sell the tram tickets you need and will explain how you travel effectively in the city. We had two connecting rooms (102+103) for two adults and two kids, and these are just perfect in design, condition and function. For only 3 Euro per person per day, you can get the breakfast buffet on the 6th floor. This buffet is great and run by such a professional and committed team. By the way, you can park on the street outside the hotel for free.
Good hotel. Very clean rooms. Helpfull stuff. If you need underground parking for additional price. Just 30mins by tram to Duomo (city center). Stop is just in front of hotel. Breakfast is normal. Not poor.
Nice hotel in not very busy part of Milan. Room are clean and reasonable. The service at the reception was good but room for friendliness. European breakfast with a nice variety including fresh served fruits. Public transport in front of the hotel.
Stayed there for 3 nights and the room was nice and clean. The wi-fi is great compared to many other hotels that i've been (same category 4*) Breakfast was good, and the front desk staff were helpful. The city center is about 30 mins away by tram, and the station is just in front of the hotel. I would say good value for money.
Been there for business trip, the room was little bit small...the shower was disaster leaking all over the place. The crew was very nice and the other is standard. The value was ok for the staying nothing more than this.
Hotel is located on Mediolan suburbs. You can easily commute to city center by tram. Quite far to get to railway station. The reason we have chosen this hotel was definitely the price which is very reasonable. The room we got was nice, but not too spacious. We definitely liked the fact that in bathroom there was bath :) breakfast not to bad, you can find something for yourself doesn't matter whether you are vegetarian or not. Huge plus for fact that you can prepare fresh juice by your own! Waiters are unbelievably awesome:) and serve coffee and tea with smile on their faces ;) Only think that might be changed is the reception stuff. In my opinion was at that time a bit stiff.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, which was for four days. The rooms is clean and of a good size for a solo bed, the bathroom is also of an adequate size with a bathtub and all the amenities are supplied, they also have a bidet which is a huge plus for me if you care about your hygiene! Room service was done daily, although it bugs me that they would still do your room in your abscene even if you have the DND button switched on. I never had breakfast during my stay so no idea what its like, the staff at the reception are really friendly and helpful with good english. They sell you the 24H tram ticket which is literally just across the street and it takes like 30-40 minutes to reach city centre (or 15-20 euros by taxi depending on traffic). If you are on a budget and don't mind using the local transport its a very reasonably priced hotel with good service and cleanliness.
I was only here for one night and managed to get a last min offer. As other reviews have said it's a trek from centre of Milan, however with tram number 14 over the road it is not that bad. I had a small misunderstand on check out but this was easily over came, don't for get the hotel exit tax. Excellent breakfast a really good all you can eat continental breakfast. I would definitely return here and recommend it for others.
Hotel is at quite a distance from city centre. Although its only 10min walk to the tram or underground but total journey was around 20min or so through tram. Also, I don't think it's cost efficient to take tram every day to the city centre unless you have already got a Milano card for 24hrs or more which allows you multiple journeys. Hotel itself was clean, basic breakfast which never changes in 4 days (same menu) and reception is 24hrs. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It depends on what one is paying for the stay but I think one was more of inconvenience to travel that far back to hotel from the city every evening (day end).
The rooms were really small, all the water while taking a shower was falling to the floor and a man in the reception was being very rude and mean at the first day. The rooms were exactly next to the street and the type of hospitality was really middle for a four star hotel. Nothing special for a Best Western. I think there are much better places to stay.
Everything was fine except small misundustanding. When we were arriving we were promissed that the breakfast was included in the price we paid. But when we were leaving we were requested to pay for breakfast.
- Rude front staff - Prostitutes directly outside of female and mixed gender - Breakfast staff working with attitude of annoyance at having to serve even though we reached 45 minutes before close of breakfast. They had put everything away early. In asking them for breakfast, we had a real arrogant attitude and uncomfortable experience in then the partial breakfast that came. - Poor Wi-Fi - not once did Wi-Fi work on any day. Paid £4 a day to provider in the UK for the entire stay. Went to the gym but again no Wi-Fi there. When complained - told should be working followed by another person telling me that it doesn't work and a ticket in place. No Wi-Fi for entire stay. - 5 Euro per night charge per person on top of the fee paid for the hotel. This fee was not mentioned anywhere when I booked the hotel. Because 3 of us - 15 Euro per night x 3 nights extra makes the hotel an expensive proposition. I am also informed that even if you are Italian; you must pay this fee unless you live in the same locality. So anyone from another region is also liable to the tax. -
Very comftorable and clean rooms. Good breakfast. Very helpfull staff. Only 20 minutes from city center by tram stopping right across the street. Free and safe parking all around. Not far from San Siro stadium. For couples, families and bussiness. Excellent wi-fi connection.
I'm currently staying here and decided since I'm awake from the hotness and loudness of the room that I'd take the time to review. The room is pretty small. The AC only stays on for 10 minutes at a time. Initially, we thought it was due to the window being broken (it was visibly off the hinges) and when we asked for someone to fix it, the guy literally spent 10 minutes opening and slamming the window shut. No real repair efforts were made. This did not remedy the AC situation, and the room has stayed fixed at 24°C, or 75°F (feels about 10°F warmer than that). The mini fridge barely cools anything so kind of pointless. It seems like the hotel just really cuts corners in order to save on costs, but at the expense of guest comfort. The bed and pillows are really, really hard, so if you don't like that, you're in for a rough stay. Breakfast isn't too bad, which earned my review a star. I really have no idea why this hotel was so highly rated. I would compare to a cheap motel back in the U.S., but it was definitely not a cheap motel price.
Very good value for money. Staff and breakfast excellent. Room too hot and only means of letting cooler air in was to open window which heightened already noticeable traffic noise and despite double glazed windows and use of shutter at night. Traffic noise constant even on a Sunday (morning noon night and early hours throughout). Trams convenient but do continue to early hours and re start early in a morning. There is never a time when there is no traffic using carriageway to front.
Staying here was a really nice surprise. The hotel is located in a quiet area, at around 15 tram stations far from the Duom (Tram 14, very quick and not crowded). We were 3 persons so we had a 3 beds room, even if there were 3 beds in the rooms there was still enough space to move around, it was a bit too hot in the room though, we had to sleep with the window open. The rooms was clean, and also the bathroom which included all the things you need for doing your bathroom routine. The wi-fi worked just perfect, we were able to upload photos online without any problem. The breakfast was really really good, very diverse, i especially liked the pancakes machine, that was making american pancakes on the spot (+nutella, YUUUM!!). The staff was nice and professional, we arrived there before check-in time and even so they gave us the room earlier. And one more thing, they have some computers in the lobby where you can access the internet and they have a printer too in case you need to print your plane ticket or whatever you need.
This is a lovely hotel and perfect for seeing the sights of Milan without having to stay in the centre. The tram to get into centre is just across the road. The room were spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We spend two Nights in this Hotel, just to take a rest from our other trip. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Also they have a great breakfast und free water in the mini bar. The Wifi is very good and the most important, the room was clean. Some dust here and there and the toilet seat could be replaced (its about to loose his shiny white color), but it was clean. We would recommend this hotel and enjoyed our stay.
Stayed at BW Mirage for 2 nights and we had a great time. The hotel was clean, the room was nice, there was a great Jacuzzi bath too! The rate included a good breakfast and the location wasn't too bad either, tram 14 stops right outside. We would definitely stay again!!!
stayed for a weekend, lovely staff, very helpful when asked about the location of different places in Milan. The breakfast buffet was lovely with many different choices. clean rooms and with very good facilities. will definitely visit again.
Everything went well, we checked in, the stuff were nice and kind to us, everybody spoke English on a high level (which is a problem from time to time especially in Italy). The room was a little smaller which we didn't mind coz it looked like in the pictures we saw before and we only got to the hotel for nights anyway. The bathroom was large and clean. Roomservis was OK. Breakfest was included and it was OK too. The hotel itself is a bit far away from the citycentre (but we also knew that before we went to Italy), but there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel and the tram takes you to the city centre and to two stops where you can jump on a subway. Last day we checked out at 11 a.m., left are bags at the hotel (without any problem and for free, it was very helpfull) and picked them up couple hours lates. We had a window to the street and I believe that might be a problem for some people so in case you are the one, ask at the front desk, in my opinion, there will be no problem at all.
Room is not so big but decent and very nice and very clean. Breakfast is good for the money that you pay! The tram station is in front of the hotel and in 25-35 minutes you can go in center of the town.
Perfect stay! Very clean rooms and perfect food. Service was also good. Not far from the centre and San Siro. Fast in the centre from hotel with the tram. Breakfast had al lot of choice and check out till 12:00!!8
The htel is just at the entrance of train station, very convenient and easy to reach. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Our room rate includes free usage of laundry which turns out to be very useful. Recommended
We found this hotel to be above average BW hotels. The room was good & comfortable. Shower was perfect. Breakfast was also good. Location is far from center, but public transportation is in front of the hotel & it is very convenient for individuals who want to save money. There is a garage for car parking. The hotel team was very cooperative & welcome. Highly recommended.
this is very conveniently located and reasonably priced hotel , tram 14 takes to city centre within minutes which is right in front of the gate , nice market just behind the property to buy fruits . staff is very helpful and well behaved they helped me all the time with destinations and comforts. the groundfloor bar is elegant,, only problem was restaurant being closed on saturday sunday though nice pizzeria just pop hate overall good place
We were family of four and stayed in this hotel recently. First the pros. -For November stay we payed around $100 for each night which I felt was very moderate. - We got two separate bed rooms for our stay, did mention we were 4 in party but two full queen beds gave us good sleep. -Front desk was friendly and was able to guide us in what we need, also we had to call a doctor and the front desk was very helpful in arranging that. -There is a train that goes just across the hotel and we were able to get to the city without calling a cab. Cons. -Unfortunately I cannot talk of high regard of the breakfast manager, he literally took the toaster when my 8 year old was trying to toast a bread. There were some issues with the toaster, but still was functional. - The bathrooms can use some updates.
One of the thing i like the most is breakfast, through out of my trip this was the best on. All over the hotel is good. The only thing is that central point is little bit far away. All the staff in the hotel are good and helpful,...................
My wife and I make a return visit to Milan. For me, a vist to the Motorcycle show, for my wife a day shopping in one of the style Capitals of Europe. The re-selection of the Mirage Hotel was a combination of Location, adequate previous stay, courtesy bus (to the show) and probably the relatively good score on the pages of trip advisor, and finally the cost. Washing on our first morning, my wife complains that the hairdryer is working intermittently, I inspect only to find the flex corroded and about to ignite with the wiring shorting out, resulting in a small burn to my hand. Fortunately, being an electrician I was able to isolate the appliance promptly, before further damage was caused. The reception was informed, and a short time later the manager appears to inspect. After this their attitudes became most dissappointing. No further effort was made to remove this faulty equipment for the duration of our stay, a replacement freehand hairdryer was supplied, the curtest of apologies was made by the Manager during his room visit, but no further acknowledgement of my small (but painfull) injry was made, and no token gesture was offered, for the injury or indeed the prompt action, which possibly avoided an evacuation. We obviously took pictures, put our concerns in writing, and contacted the Local Tourist info office, who promised action over what appears to be extremely poor attitudes of a supposed 4 star establishment and its management. Be warned, a significant absence of ethical integrity and or sincerity.
I had a 1 night stay at Best Western Hotel Mirage in September. The hotel was clean and tidy with a nice room. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. A computer was in a lobby area which was handy. Breakfast had a good selection and was of high quality. The hotel wasn't at a very convenient location in Milan. From the train station, it was quite a long bus ride through Milan and then a reasonable walk from when I got off the bus. There is a tram nearby which I used later on. However, none of the major attractions were in close walking distance and I saw other hotels in Milan at better locations. However, for Milan which is a very expensive city to stay in, I found it to be a good option to stay if you want a nice hotel for an affordable price and I still would recommend it.
We booked the room to visit EXPO Milan. Room was clean, comfortable, small compared to North America. 1 line of streetcar to Expo 20 minutes and 1 line to Milan downtown 30 minutes. We enjoyed the breakfast. When we checked out and asked for the car from the garage, the battery of our rental car was dead for whatever reason. The hotel staff arranged within 10 minutes to have somebody come with a battery on wheels and start the car at no charge. Location is within 5 minutes of highway driving north to Switzerland.
Given the the standards of hotel these days you really expect staff to try even if they are dealing with poor material but they do no such thing at this independent hotel. There may of course be language barriers as I speak no Italian but in such cases the check in staff make up for it with smiles and friendly body language, that was missing. The room assigned was tiny, double bed yes but there ends any attempt to cater for travelers. There is no restaurant and not many locally so be prepared for a long taxi ride into the city.
We were with a group for the MICAM and this is the best location. It is only a short free shuttle ride. Also, close to the Expo. In fact when you are at MICAM (or any other exposition) you can walk down to the train station and out the other end and you are at the Expo! We had a lovely corner room with lots of light and plenty of room. The bathroom is spacious. Breakfasts are in a lovely room and was wonderful with fruit, eggs, any sort of tart/croissant/bun, cheeses, meats, yogurt, etc. They will make you any special coffee drink. We didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner but the drinks at the bar are well-priced and the nibbles were free. The tram stops right outside and will take you directly to the Duomo in about 20 minutes. Tickets and information was available at the front desk. There are several wonderful restaurents within walking distance.
Excellent stay with very helpful staff, pleasant surprise for anyone visiting the MICAM the free shuttle , to and from the FAIR, it is highly recommended to all !!! Excellent breakfast room at the roof of the hotel and not at the basement as usual.
High quality and clean room. Nice wood wall and much space. Also coffee make in the room. The breakfast was standard, and the cappuccino was really as it should be. The personnel very helpful and kind. They kindly printed out the check-in document.
We stayed there to visit the EXPO and it was ideally located: right next to the tram stop (19), which takes you to the east entrance in about 15 minutes (plus about 10 minutes on foot, most of which was to cross the EXPO's own parking lot). Room was modern and clean; rich breakfast buffet and very friendly staff! (Only when we reported the blocked safe, they seem to have forgotten about it.)
