"Very nice room and bathroom, great location."
The air conditioning was good. the room is nice and clean and the breakfast was very good. the staff were very helpful and nice. the hotel has a rooftop which is very nice too. it is near a metro station and bus station. it is very close to the central station too.
"Great hotel in the center of Milan"
Great hotel in the center of Milan located on a beautiful central street. All major tourist attractions are close by. Central Railway Station is within walkable distance. The staff was professional polite and caring. The room was super nice and clean. All amenities worked as expected. I am looking forward to staying at your hotel again!
"Small and friendly central hotel"
The hotel is located within a small shopping arcade. The staff on reception were welcoming and kind. My room was comfortable and although compact had everything I needed. There was complimentary water and coffee in the room. The room looked new, clean and fresh. Breakfast was a buffet offering a good choice of hot and cold options. This hotel has a nice central location and was perfect for a short business trip.
"Disappointing"
Disappointing experience. It's well located close to the tube station Lima and central station but offers not much value for money. I booked this a few weeks ahead of travelling and the cheapest I could get was a single room for £150. It's was a tiny room with a bad matras and not well insulated so I could hear partygoers outside . There was only one socket in the room and it wasn't a normal two plug socket and you had to use an adapter to boil the kettle. Most hood hotels these days have usb charging points. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good.
"Great location, staff and breakfast "
Super handy location, located a minute walk from Lima metro station which takes you into the centre of the city. Location is also handy for Malpensa airport, train from Malpensa to Cadorna and then the red line metro to Lima. Hotel was clean, rooms big and breakfast had a great selection. We were pleasantly surprised by our room balcony which had two chairs and table overlooking the street, great for people watching. Staff all nice and friendly. Slight downfall was the noise from the busy road outside during the night, but this is expected with the location. Could also hear the rooms next door music but this was during the day so not an issue. One small lift but we were happy to use the stairs during our stay and only used the lift on check in and check out. Would recommend this hotel and would stay again.
"Good value, Good staff"
Central location, next to metro sitation and located in main street. Very helpful staff, thanks to Alberto from reception. Good breakfast, many veriety of food. Just the power of water was weak for taking shower. I highly recommed this hotel.
"A huge disappointment"
By no means you will get the comfort and the treatment that justifies the 4-star rating of this hotel. I have no idea how this hotel has got a somewhat decent customer rating here. First, receptionist Davide very curt to the point of becoming rude. He didn't bother to say hello and greeted us with one word: "Documents." Second, in order to use the elevator, you need to climb one flight of stairs, which is super inconvenient if you have luggage. The elevator itself is very small -- it can accommodate one person and one suitcase, or two people with no luggage. There are many small things that will add to the discomfort of staying at this place, like tiny bath towels (of the size of regular hand towel), noisy AC, and so on. The location of the hotel is also not prime. It is not the best or the cleanest part of Milan. Some people mentioned that they got here by foot from the central railway station, which is feasible if you have no luggage. With luggage, you will be sweating.
"Great place to stay!"
The hotel is great, the service is amazing, specially the receptionist Fernanda, she is kind, gives a lot tips of what to do in the city, she has a good level of English and is very helpful. I want to go back as soon as possible.
"Good until surprise charges."
The hotel is in a good location - very central. 10 min walk from the Milan Central train station and Lima metro station right outside. Breakfast included, which was okay and there's a lot included with the hotel (the rooms were also nice and we got lucky with a view to the main street). I greatly enjoyed my trip with my boyfriend until we had to check out. While the process was easy and smooth, we had a last minute “room tax” for €40 for 4 nights. We weren't informed about this from when we booked, checked in, or our stay across the 4 days. As university students, my boyfriend and I were overjoyed finding a nice hotel with a good location (as we wanted to explore) on an easyjet package for quite cheap. We had both budgeted carefully for this trip as we don't have a lot of money (students). If we had enough time between breakfast and the 8am coach from the train station, I would've protested this charge. We both had go into our savings which were entirely for our rent to pay this ludicrous last-minute ‘room tax'. I advise the hotel to make this room tax more obvious when booking and checking in, or better yet, include it in the booking fee.
"Pleasant stay"
Located 10-15 minutes by foot from the central station the neighburhood wasn't the most exciting. However the red Metro line is just nearby and it'll quickly take you to the city center. My double room was clean and nicely sized. Just one tiny elevator is a bit unfortunate, I often used the stairs instead. Breakfast perfectly fine. The gentleman from southern Italy working the front desk in the morning was very nice and serviceminded.
"High price for a bad and low quality"
150 euros (without breakfast!) for a very tiny room stuck in the 80's / 90's with a single bed next to the wall…. Never seen that in years! Not even sockets in the room to charge 2 different things. I had to unplug the TV for that. The bathroom follows the same old fashioned style. Bad quality for bed linen and towels. Not at all compatible with the 4-star classification of a Best Western hotel. Deserves 1-2 star max. The pictures talk by themselves. Unbelievable.
"Perfect Location. Perfect Place."
Hi Stayed here with family for a day. Staff are super friendly, esp Nana Ahmed at the kitchen. They had cloak room so saved ££ on luggage storage. Location is just few mins away from many station where we can get Metro for local travel. Breakfast is really good with wide range of options. I would definitely recommend this place.
"Central and great service"
I have stayed here 2 times in 2022, great service, good breakfast and clean rooms. The hotel is quiet but you are in a central area of town, near the metro. By metro, you are in no time at Duomo or Porta Garibaldi.
"Recently renovated"
The hotel was recently renovated and located in a busy shopping street. It is a 1-minute walk from Lima metro station. Handy if you take a train from Malpensa airport to Cadorna station and change to the metro there. Seven stops to Lima station. The hotel is well priced, considering the comfortable rooms that they offer. They have, by the way, an excellent breakfast buffet for only 5 euros. Great base for a few days in Milan.
"Clean and tidy "
Recently stayed with my partner and really enjoyed it. We'd made a mistake with the booking (one large single room rather than a double) but the hotel were more than happy to accommodate, even sending up room service to ensure everything was doubled up on before we got there. View was great and the terrace on the 8th floor is well worth a visit. Room service food was good quality and arrived in 15 minutes. You couldn't wish for more!
"Great choice"
There is a Metro station right outside the building. Also walkable from/to Central Station if you want. The rooms are clean. Excellent customer service. Good breakfast for the price. Altogether a great choice!
"Nice hotel"
In general, it's a nice hotel with perfect location ( at Corso Buenos Aires St. ) Room : good with a nice, clean bathroom and modern shower. Good TV, good mini bar, comfortable bed, tea kettle. Staff : very friendly. The problems : - Rooms looking the Main Street are very noisy. You can always hear the cars passing by ( the windows are not sound proof ). I was at the 3rd floor and could even hear the people talking at the street!!! - Only 1 elevator serving the entire hotel ( max 3 persons capacity ) and during the morning, it is possible that you wait for 10 minutes before it is possible to take it !!!
"Lovely Hotel in a fab position."
We booked this Hotel because of its proximity to Milan Train Station, and we were not disappointed with its location, it was also close to the Center and the Duomo, and also just outside the Hotel, there were a few restaurants/bars, where we had a couple of meals and cocktails, also the bus stop for the Hop On Hop Off bus was just across the road from the Hotel, we used the bus for a couple of days, as we found it to be very puntual and very frequent, we found it to be great for sight seeing. Our room was clean with a safe, fridge and a large TV, the bathroom was of a good size. We requested Gluten free breakfast and they were very pleased to oblige, there was a good selection of cheeses, Parma Ham, Mortadela and Salamy, also plenty of fresh fruits, yogurts, tea and coffee. I would recommend this Hotel, and I will defenetely will be staying there again.
"Business trip"
the staff was very nice and the service very high. The rooms were good with well functioning air conditioning. The breakfast was good and there were good with good opportunities. The internet was very fast and worked grea
"good location"
Good location at Corso Buenos Aires, ideal to do some shopping. But also possible to go by feet to the center and the Duomo. My room was just perfect, a good bed, mini bar, television, possibility to make coffee or tea, nice bathroom. The breakfast in the morning is OK with a good variety of products. I surely will go back when I returns to Milano.
"A city break"
We have enjoyed a 4 night stay at this hotel in order to attend a wedding and to do some sight seeing. We have been exceptionally pleased with many aspects of the hotel. It's location is very convenient. The Lima metro station is just metres from the hotel door. The M1 Metro line connects directly with a number of metro stations next to popular tourist spots e.g. the Museum of Modern Art (w the Duomo and associated features and the impressive Castello. One change on the metro from the M1 on to the M2 takes you directly to the canal area with its many bars, restaurants and market stalls. Metro fares are very reasonable, for all the main areas a 2€ standard ticket lasts for 90 minutes (in zone 1 to 3) and for 7€ a day ticket can be used anywhere in zone 3 any number of times all day. The hotel is close to the central station. A 20 minute walk in a straight line from the station or a five minute taxi (about 8 €) There are also some very nice shops within short walking distance from the hotel. The hotel itself is sparkling clean and our room in the fourth floor was excellent, beautifully furnished and appointed and cleaned scrupulously every morning. Breakfast was good, the usual fruit, yogurt, cheeses, ham, rolls pastries etc etc. There are a number of restaurants and pizzerias nearby for an evening meal including the characterful Piccolo Ischia Pizzeria. Reception staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and well informed. For a weekend break in Milan you can't do better.
"Good location"
Check in time was not 2pm as advertised. I arrived at 1:55pm to be told to come back in 20mins. I came back 35 mins later and I still had to sit and wait for a few mins. The room was big enough but the bathroom space was tight especially with the position of the toilet. The decor in the room was an ugly brown colour of flooring and furniture. Very few plug sockets took my adaptor. The one at the door was used most of the time to charge my phone and the only other was the one the tv was plugged into. The bed was EXTREMELY hard as were the pillows. I prefer a softer mattress so sleeping was difficult over the 3 nights I was here. Noise from the street could be heard, especially sirens. Walls are thin. I could here next door's taps running and their shower. The room had an unpleasant smell at times. It may have been the air freshener the staff used. The lift was really small. It says it can accommodate only 3 people. However, I would argue that 2 people would be max. Very little space in the fridge as it was filled with the minibar items. Only the news channels were english-speaking. Staff on the reception desk were pleasant and polite. Lima metro station is located only a few meters away. There is a good, strong and consistent WiFi connection. Tea/ coffee facilities were a nice addition to have. I think you would be able to get a more comfortable hotel at the same price. I wouldn't stay here again.
"Great location and excellent staff"
Except for the fact we arrived in a heat wave which put undue pressure on the AC we cannot fault this hotel. Staff. Food. Value. Location all great. Only suggestion is they should offer beer in the bar.
"Nice hotel in a great location"
We stayed at this hotel a total of 5 nights and were very happy with the accommodation, service, breakfast etc. The staff was very helpful whether it was holding our bags, getting us a taxi or finding us a restaurant at the last minute. The location is excellent...walking distance to just about any of the local sites. Would definitely stay here again. The only downside I might say is that because you are on a main street, it can be very noisy at night...but coming from NYC, it really didn't bother me.
"Very good overnight stay"
I chose this hotel for a quick overnight stay between a flight and a train. It is a 10 mins walk from Milano Centrale so very convenient if you arrive late. The room is indeed dated but comfortable enough and very clean! I was surprised I even had a balcony and a kettle with coffee and tea facilities. The breakfast was super great, also the staff was very kind. I would recommend to anyone this hotel who doesn't care about the big fuss of the Ritz style hotels :)
"Stop over"
We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into this hotel for the night before our flight home to Australia. The staff behind reception could not do enough for us especially Alberto who carried our heavy cases up the 8 stairs to the elevator and down again in the morning. Our room was large king bed and heaps of room to put our cases probably the largest room we have experienced over the last three weeks. The air con worked well. Another lovely surprise was tea and coffee facility in our room and bottled water. Down at reception there is a coffee machine you can use any time free of charge and a bowl of fruit a nice touch. We were given a welcome drink voucher to use which we did but did not expect all the lovely nibbles to go with it. The choice of red, white or proseco was offered. Breakfast was more than adequate. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this hotel, it is in a good area for shopping and only a ten minute walk to Milan Centrale.
"we were attacked 3 times by criminals. "
we had booked a room at this hotel last Saturday and Sunday. When we arrived our band in front of the hotel was stabbed and we were attacked 3 times by criminals. Even while changing the tire. We then decided to leave Milan immediately. The hotel manager know refuses to refund our money. So for us this hotel gets a 0
"Amazing Service"
We had four nights in this hotel. The check in staff and reception staff could not do enough for you. On arrival given complementary voucher for drink at bar which was appreciated. Breakfast was only 4 Euro the best and cheapest in Europe. Room was spacious and extremly clean. Location is walking distance to metro trains and in the centre of main shopping district for all famous brands. Only negative is street noise, windows need doub;e glaze.
"Highly recommended"
Our 4 night stay here was an absolute pleasure. The staff at Reception were outstanding in their welcome, assistance with sightseeing plans, and general support. Massimo in particular was able to get us booked into a Last Supper Tour at the last minute, something we'd previously given up on after many attempts on websites in the previous couple of weeks. We were thrilled! He also recommended local eateries which turned out to be fantastic, gave us ideas of other places we could visit here and in other parts of Italy, and was patient and fun as we put our limited Italian to the test. The breakfasts were great - lots of healthy and tempting choices with attentive, friendly and staff who reached out to our needs. Kristina willingly made great decaffeinated coffee, the best we've ever tasted! Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and we enjoyed our free welcome drink in the foyer, a lovely way to meet other travellers and visitors to Milan. The lift was an asset for us as senior travellers, and having the Lima Metro station close by was a real bonus, making travel to the Duomo area only minutes away. We'd have no hesitation in returning to this hotel, and feel as though, on departure, we're leaving family!
"Amazing service"
Our stay at Best western was short but perfect. The hotel was so easy to find as it is well situated, next to a station and 4 stops from Duomo. We were a group of three, we accidentally booked the wrong offer but when we got to the reception they were able to accommodate us. The room was big, very airy and clean. The bathroom was spotless and had enough towels and toiletries. The internet connection was really fast. The staff at the reception were really lovely and polite. Only downside it got really cold at night and we weren't able to adjust the heating in the room as this gets switched off at night but they were able to provide us with additional clean blankets. The breakfast was amazing had some great options and the staff in the restaurant were lovely too. We over slept so we checked out 30mins late but they were patient with us. Our over all experience was amazing.
"Milan Visit"
hotel is located on very good location near to Central station and also all branded stores located on same road, so i would suggest peoples related to textile apparel business must stay in this property
"Good citytrip base"
Hotel is near Lima metrostation so quick connection to centre. Hotel isn't to big but has everything you need; free WiFi, good and cheap (4euro) breakfastbuffet with decent choices, nice little roofterrace for a sunsetview and a tiny gym with one machine and indoor and outdoorshower! Stayed in a 1 personroom. Size was ok, efficiënt lay-out so enough room for my stuff. Room comes with fridge/minibar and tea/ coffee facilities. Tv-channels in several languages. Bathroom also oke with toiletries, bidet, and bathtub/shower. Free bottle of water is included on arrival. Several, mostly italian, restaurants around. Located 15minute walk from central station. Would definatly consider it again on a return trip.
"In the middle of buens aires street"
This was a small hotel bet in a perfect location. Next to lima metro station that is less than 1 minute walking. The rooms are not big but verry modern and clean. The staff was helpful in what we needed. Breakfast was ok not more than that. Not a lot of variety, but reasonable. If you are in a short stay in milano this is a good place to be.
"A gem in Milano!"
Perfect location, spotless renovated room (comfy bed) on the 7th floor (balcony) with a brand new bathroom featuring a huge mirror in the rainfall shower. The breakfast offers a great choice of classic items (scrambled eggs, sausages, a nice selection of cheese and cold meats, pastries, croissants, yogurts, fruits etc.) as well as pizza, pie, veggies, olives and pancakes! For 3€, this breakfast is just incredible... You choose this hotel for its location but you will go back for the people. Eliana was extremely kind and compassionate during my stay (I was in Milano in sad circumstances). She also provided me with useful info anytime I needed it. Massimo I briefly saw before I left was very nice as well. Actually, anyone I met there during my stay was nice and courteous. I will definitely choose the Best Western City for my future trips to Milano and I have already recommended it to my friends.
"Fantastic Location and Exceptional Service"
This hotel is located on a major shopping street in Milan. It is surrounded by stores, restaurants and cafes, and only one short block from a subway station. Room was clean and comfortable with excellent beds having a walk-in shower (bonus..no water on floor). Staff are helpful and all are friendly. Breakfast is very inexpensive (3€), has a variety of hot and cold foods and is not to be missed. While there isn't a restaurant, there is room service in the early evening that is very affordable with tasty selections. While the street is noisy, our room had double glazed windows and a shutter that you could close. Suggest reserving room with a balcony to observe the street scene. Tip: Get to know the subway system to reach city attractions. Cost is 1.5€ a trip and saves hours of walking. Actually simply to use.
"Pleasant Hotel"
This hotel is convenient for exploring Milan, though visitors will probably wish to take the Metro to explore the action near the Duomo. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful.
"Good Choice"
Medium size City Hotel is conveniently located in heart of shopping Area on Buenos Aires Street in Milan... Located relatively close to beautiful Central Station.. Convenient either you coming or leaving by plane (bus for/from airport Malpensa) or directly by train, this Hotel is located 950 metres only or by 7 minutes walk, 5 minutes by bus (#60) or 3 minutes by taxi (10 Euro ). Only 100 meters from Subway.. Walking distance to some attractions, like Porto Venezia, museums and parks, less than 1.7 km (25 min walk) of center, like Dome, Scala, Galleria... Outside appearance is nice..Modern, blue glass buildings look. Inside, neat, clean and quite, acclimatized, small but effective reception, but with no seating and resting area.. Small but working elevator (1-2 person + luggage), with 7-8 stairs up from reception..(Not convenient if you have heavy luggage or disabled). Very slow, but no long waiting.. Very helpful receptionists, kind stuff. Fast check in.. Receptionist kindly gave coupons for complimentary drinks. Very nice on such a hot day.. Thanks Massimo... Rooms are neat, quite and clean, nice looking with all amenities, beside standard, like free Wi-Fi, safe, fridge.. Cold AC was already on..Which made very pleasant and calming experience after outside heat.. Complimentary water, coffee, tea, etc.. Cold drinks in fridge are for charge. We were on 6th floor with huge window, street view but inside was quite. Bathroom, in white tiles and clean, plenty of fresh and neatly organized towels, changed daily. Complimentary shampoos and soaps, convenient bide, Couple of cons.. No bathroom fan inside..Strange.. And, you know, that might be "..Naturally unpleasant.." sometimes.. Hair dryer did not work, but no big deal..I could ask for other one.. Floor metal plate was displaced.. However I saw renovated bathroom in another room. Cleaning lady said they working slowly on renovation throughout so future guests might enjoy much better new bathrooms. We did not have included Breakfast, so after offered for 3 Euro we accepted. Good deal.. Breakfast was fine and worthy of that money. Good breakfast with plenty of food, with something for anyone. I recommend one. Breakfast Room on 1st floor was nice and clean, always neatly settled, not much rush inside. Stuff was neat, clean and uniformed, very kind and with warm greeting when you come and leave. Only thing that bothers me here, Stuff was starting closing too early. They work up to 10, but they start closing at 9:45, cleaning, making noise by bringing out spoons, mugs, glasses, moving around, taking out some of food, making me feel unwanted and bit nervous. If you come late, like I am, your choice of food getting limited. Beside those small cons I had, I would approve 3.5 - 4 stars (because of size, small reception and elevator), but location, comfortable stay of 4 nights, and other things as well as always smiley and helpful stuff made it up and was all right. I will be back and I can recommend this hotel.. So enjoy...and have a nice hotel.. :)
"Nice for Buisiness Trips "
Nice Small Hotel . Clean and suitable for Business Trips . The breakfast is nice and the location is very good in the city center and very close to the Attractions . my only note is that the elevator and some rooms are very small.
"Basic, but good"
I stay here most years as part of a Monza F1 weekend. Its in a good location on 10mins walk from Milan Central. It's basic, but it does the job. Ok breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Will be back again.
"Excellent location, clean and cosy"
Best Western Hotel City is situated near the railway station, only 15-20 minutes on foot (so you don't even need a taxi from Express train), but not so near to be surrounded by railway sounds, of course. It is situated in Corso Buenos Aires - large street with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. I liked everything about this hotel! Very clean rooms, excellent breakfasts (do not hesitate to have them), very friendly staff. Absolutely advise to everybody who wants to explore Milan.
"Decent place, tiny elevator, mediocre breakfast."
Pretty standard hotel. Clean comfortable room. Good WiFi. Location is good but some of the streets nearby are a bit shady. Especially on the walk from the station to the hotel. We opted into breakfast cause it was only 3€ per person per day. But it was mediocre at best. I ate a lot off the fresh cheese plate. Cakes were good but the hot food was lacking. We were there at 9:15 and they were out if scrambled eggs and never made more. I had a hard boiled I stead. Bacon was almost gone to so I didn't take any cause it was very greasy leftover pieces. I was excited they had pancakes but noticed the syrup was out. When I asked for a new one they said they were out. I ended up tossing the pancakes. Bummer. Breakfast of this caliber should be included. Coffee was good.
"Nice hotel, regular service!!"
Nice comfortable rooms! spacious bathrooms, nice breakfast. One of the receptionists has a terrible attitude and smoked at the door all the time. That was probably the only glitch. It's nicely located very close to subway stations and stores and restaurants.
"Well located hotel"
Convenient hotel close to restaurants train & hop on-off bus.Hotel has very helpful staff who speak English if required. Pleasant clean room overlooking Corso Buenos Aires, but not noisy Breakfast was in a pleasant room on 1st floor overlooking Corso. Plenty of choice & fresh
"Good comfortable stay"
Good hotel in some 15-minutes walk from the train station, and directly by the metro-station Piazza Lima. I was traveling alone and got a single-room with a balcony, rather small but comfortable. Good breakfast, helpful staff, possibility for baggage-storing during the day, good ratio between quality and price.
"Wonderful staff"
Excellent hotel . Great location. Rooms clean and well appointed. Walkable distance to many interesting sights. Shopping great. Hotel is close to train station. Lots of lovely spots to eat . Close to Metro.

25 minute walk to the duomo along the biggest shopping street. Metro station in 2 minutes away. Great location! Very friendly staff and breakfast buffet for 3€. Room was very clean. Loved staying there!

"Fantastic Best Western Hotel City Milano"
What a delightful stay at a delightful, friendly, professional and clean hotel. The hotel is very centrally located close to the Central Train Station (either a 15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride) in a fantastic shopping street and a 20-25 minute walk away from the Duomo di Milano. We were greeted warmly and offered hot drinks and pastries on our arrival. After dropping off our luggage and freshening up in our spotlessly clean room we were then offered a free welcome drink of Prosecco and nibbles. For an extra 3 Euros per person we had a delicious and endless buffet breakfast. You cannot fault this hotel - extremely friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities, great wifi. We are happy to recommend this hotel and hope to stay again. Thank you

"Good hotel in a central location in Milan "
This is a great hotel in a very central location , A/C works amazingly, spacious, quiet and clean room , we did not give 5 stars only because we expected more diversified breakfast , such as fresh fruit , and not canned ones. Whole wheat buns ( which run out way too early) , and more variety of eggs. Staff at the breakfast room at totally indifferent at you . Need improvement in this matter only !!!!!

"Even for an economy class hotel it lacks a lot"
Even for an economy class hotel it lacks a lot. Although very new the hotel it didn't have A/C working. Come on! Paid more than 3 hundred euros and had to sleep with windows open and surrounded by mosquitoes?!
HotelCityMilano, Vicedirettore at Best Western Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Leonardo, I'm very sorry about your bad experience you've had as above described, but I think you have posted your comments in the wrong property page because our A/C is perfectly working since the first days of April and we haven't received any complaints neither about A/C nor concerning mosquitos. Tripadvisor will be able to check it out and to redirect your review on the right hotel profile. Best regards, Best Western Hotel City Deputy Manager Jasmin Umana
"A good balance of everything"
This hotel had everything I wanted - it was within walking distance of our drop-off point at Milan Central station, it was easily walkable to the main sights, it was a good price and it served breakfast. On top of that, the room was a decent size and was in good condition, and the staff were helpful. Its on one of the main shopping streets in Milan, and this made the walk into the centre more interesting. I'd definitely stay there again.
"Cancelled flight lead to a night in Milan"
When it snowed in NYC my flight home from Rome was cancelled. Norwegian was being super unhelpful so we booked ourselves a new flight home from Milan. We booked our reservation through hotel tonight (worth noting: the hotel website was a few euro more expensive for the rate) and when we checked in the concierge told us we were in a 1 bed room. As my friend and I are not a couple we were hoping for two beds. The concierge said we checked in too late and our reservation was too last minute to have many options, but when I said I totally understood as we were here last minute due to flight cancellations, he seemed to gain some sympathy for us. Next thing we knew he called housekeeping to see if anything else was available and we got into a bigger room with a balcony with a sleeper couch. The room was pretty big too! We had a great stay, and loved the complimentary welcome drink & 3 euro breakfast buffet. Close to the Centrale train station and everything we needed!

"Enjoyable weekend stay"
We had a very good weekend break at the Hotel City. The room was not huge but very clean and comfortable. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. A good location for getting around the city. Recommended

"Wonderful experience on business trip"
Me and my colleague had travelled to Milan on business and checked in to Best Western City. The hotel has numerous advantages - central location at the heart of Milan with easy access to train station, central shopping area and the Duomo. We were delighted by the service and amenities on offer - Special mention to Alberto (at the reception) who was extremely efficient and helpful in guiding us on travel options, eateries and other necessary know-how on the area. I would definitely check-in to Best Western City during on upcoming trips to Milan.

"Positive and long overdue"
I wasn't a Trip Advisor person until lately. But this BW really is nice. I loved the fact that there was a lot of shopping on this street. The staff was nice. I was there 10/2016. There's a great restaurant next door. I might stay downtown if I ever go again.
"Positive Experience"
Hotel in the main shopping Street Buenos Aires. Bedroom and bathroom clean and large. Tasty international breakfast. Good parking service. Great position near the metro stop. Staff very kind and helpful.

"Great staff"
Not bad for in inner city hotel, but made great by the staff at the front desk. On two consecutive nights we were booked into excellent restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast is adequate with a reasonable range of food. My room was at the back of the hotel with a small balcony. View was not great, but it was dark most of the time. The only minor gripe is that the cold water pressure seemed to be very low. This meant that you either got scalded or had a drizzle from the shower.
"Not the best "
The hotel is right on the Corso Buenos Aires so in a good location for high street shopping. The entrance is tucked away in an arcade so it's quite easy to miss. The room I was given was a very decent size with a huge bed. The decor was probably from the early 2000s and was a bit rough around the edges. The sink unit was very large and took up so much room that you had to use the loo sideways. The towels were thin and my shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. On the upside, breakfast was only €3 which for a hotel in central Milan is crazily cheap.
"no AC"
I do not get how a hotel in a major city in Italy could not have AC. I could be norm for Italy but it is not for me. The rooms facing the street leave you with a choice: suffer from overheating or open up a window and give up sleep. Staff was accommodating though.
HotelCityMilano, Assistant Manager at Best Western Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Guest, we are sorry about the discomfort caused, but you will not find air conditioning in October all over northern Italy because nobody asks for it , contrariwise many people asks for heating during the night when the outside temperature goes down to 10C°. We hope that this matter will not compromise your future hotel choice and we really hope to have you again among our guests. Best regards, Best Western Hotel City Assistant Manager Jasmin Umana
"Not quite the Best Western Hotel "
This hotel is in a good location and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was also good, except for the lack of air conditioning. When we checked in mid afternoon the room was really stifling so I opened the windows to let some air in. The traffic noise was really intrusive. So, I tried to get the air conditioning going but that wasn't working. When I called reception I was told 'you can't have heating and cooling, open the windows and it will be OK when you come back to your room later '. We tried sleeping with the windows open and the traffic kept us awake, so we tried closing the windows and the room became really hot and stuffy. Now I know that you can expect some traffic noise when the hotel is located on such a busy road, but surely air conditioning isn't too much to ask? Luckily were only staying for two nights, we had a great nights sleep the next night at Fiumelatte. Don't stay at this hotel if you want a good nights sleep.

"4/5"
Walking distance to the train station. Not too far from the main attractions of the city. First night wasn't brilliant, the subway is so loud at night we struggled to sleep, we asked to move the morning after and they had no problems moving us, we felt they actually upgraded us also but this was possibly just coincidence. Bed good. AC Good. Food Good.

Dear Mr. Aaron, thank you for taking time to review your stay in our hotel, we are pleased that you were satisfied with our location and services. We're sorry for the underground trembling, it's not strong at all, but we understand that if you're not used to or if you're sleep is quite light, you can suffer a little; therefor we suggest to ask for rooms in higher floor which assure you a complete isolation. Hoping to have the possibility to se you soon again in our hotel, we send you our best regards. Best Western Hotel City Assistant Manager Jasmin Umana
"Great place"
This place was clean and pleasant. The room was bright and very quiet at night even through our room faced the main road. The bed was large and comfy. The towels were great. Maybe the only thing is the size of the shower. It is a bit small, it was fine for me but if you are a large person it might not work for you. The breakfast was very good with a large selection to choose from. The manager made his presence know to us and he was very pleasant and accommodating. All in all I would recommend this place to my friends. You access the main door off the main street down a small walk way. There is a lighted sign on the main street with a arrow pointing you in the right direction. I say this as the cab driver did not see it but we did.

"Good Location and nice hotel"
We had a good experience at this hotel. Very clean and nice rooms. Typical European small room which is always a problem with big suitcases, but a functional closet and nice rain head shower. Would stay here again. The Lima metro entrance is right outside the door. There are good restaurants in the area. About a 10 minute walk to the station.

"Ok for a Short Stay"
This hotel is conveniently situated on a very busy shopping street in the heart of Milan, but the outside noise doesn't really bother you as the hotel has soundproofed its rooms, at least we were not disturbed by it on the 5th floor. It is within 30 to 40 minutes level walk to the centre of Milan. We arrived here late morning and were not allowed to check in until 2pm, though it appeared other people arriving were checking in - can it be just our room that wasn't ready? Our room was comfortable and clean but the bathroom was very small with a toilet that was very temperamental and a tiny shower cubicle with flimsy doors that kept falling apart. The shower fittings were also badly situated - each time you tried to move in the shower, the handle was knocked stopping the water completely. Breakfast was ok - large selection to choose from but I personally don't like eggs bathing in water or chopped up bits of frankfurter. The staff were not overly friendly either, only speaking to you if they had to, with the exception of Alberto on reception who showed more courtesy. Beware if you have mobility problems too - to reach the lift, you have to climb a flight of stairs and the lift itself is also a tiny space suitable for a maximum of 3 people.
"Nice Hotel"
Stayed at the City Hotel for a couple of nights after a stay in Lake Como and would definitely recommend. Hotel is situated on one of the main shopping streets in Milan and about 20 -25 minute walk from Duomo Square and all the main designer shops. The room we had was huge with two sets of double doors opening onto a huge balcony overlooking the main road which can be very busy and noisy but the glazing did cut a lot of this out when the doors were closed,The breakfast room was very with a good choice of food to set you up for the day and everywhere was very clean,Overall a very enjoyable stay.

"Little Gem in busy city"
Perfect location for sightseeing Alittle tricky for our taxi driver & us to spot though as entrance is inside a shopping arcade Lovely touch of a free welcome drink in the evening in the lobby area & nibbles Breakfast good for continental Sofa's alittle shabby in lobby for a 4* hotel Lift can only take 3 people alittle squashed when you have your luggage. Bathrooms could have been designed alittle better as our toilet was behind the door, rooms clean & good room service menu.

"Good location! "
Hotel is okay, you can say it's cosy, rooms are quite small unless you get a suite. Overall very clean and breakfast is very good. Best thing about his hotel is the location, in the mid of the busy Corso Buenos Aires, a shopping hub, also it is about 20 min walking to Milano Central Station. There is also a metro stop very near to the hotel.
"Best stay at Best Western"
A perfect location near shopping centres, train and bus stations. A beautiful hotel with clean freshly appointed rooms- we even had a balcony with views. A welcome drink with tasty gourmet foods tantalise your taste buds on arrival. Kevin is the attentive Bar man. All of the staff under Omar's management are like a family. The staff are helpful and patient- thank you all. We were happy with the delicious breakfast choices as well. I highly recommend this hotel.
"Very good value. Would happily return. "
Pros: - excellent location. Easy walking distance from Milan central (both trains and busses from the airport stop there) - Lima metro station a minute away - good location. Lots more of shops and places to eat nearby - breakfast is incredible value at only 3EUR per person per night - spacious clean comfortable and quiet rooms - complimentary welcome drinks and snacks - great service from the staff Cons: Nothing to note here. Would be very happy to return.
"Wonderful delight! "
Stayed here for one night while in transit to lake como. It was in a great, central location. Staff very friendly. Wonderful breakfast. Room comfy and deceptively large. Complimentary welcome drinks were a lovely touch! Will be back
"Great hotel - bit not so keen on Milan "
It takes a hour on the train from the airport to milan central. We walked to the hotel from the central train station and it took about 15 minutes. On arrival were were offered a free welcome drink and given keys to our room on the 4th floor overlooking the road. We did not find the road noisy except for a couple of loud motorcycles. The air con had been on and it was nice and cool. The bed was large and super comfy and room size was as expected with a bathroom with well stocked toiletries. Breakfast was amazing for just £3 each! Lots of choice with a small hot offering. You could not find better in the whole of Milan! You also have free coffee/hot chocolate available in the small bar all day long with free croissants. Reception staff really helpful. The lift is small but we only used it to get our cases up and down to the room. The metro stopped almost outside - the red line - and Lima stop. You can get a full day pass for£4.50 if you wish. We walked everywhere, the cathedral Dumo took us 25 mins and the castle another 10 on top. We walked 13 miles on both the full days we were there. We found that food was a lot cheaper outside of the main tourist areas. One restaurant offered a 1 litre of coke for 18 euros!! As for Milan, well it's not a patch on other cities and not much to see apart from shops and graffiti. The hotel was great and would be happy to recommend but as for Milan, we won't be back in a hurry. Go to Prague, Berlin or Amsterdam, sorry Milan!
"Good location for the money and short stay"
Selected this hotel based on central location and price. Arrived in Milan in the morning - no problem to have your luggage stored before you can check-in. Hotel itself has no parking you will be directed to a nearby parking garage. about 5 min walking distance. Concierge/Check-in Staff is friendly and helpful. First problem you have to conquer after check in - the elevator - to small for 3 people and luggage, so someone has to walk to the 5 floor. Note the elevator will become a "bigger problem" in the morning when everybody goes to breakfast and wants to check out - prepare for some waiting. ROOM - well the first room we got [family room 3 beds] had an A/C problem - water dripping from the sealing - since the elevator was now occupied by cleaning staff - walk down 5 floors, complain - no problemo, hotel staff arranged right away for new rooms. Now we have 2 rooms for the same price - single and double same floor. Checking the air condition -> no sign of operation -> all right, walking all the floors down - complain - explanation power problem will be fixed later. OK - lets first conquer Milan. Coming back in the evening - A/C still not running, new staff downstairs, no idea what i'm talking about - so sorry. Well so much about the A/C for a hot summer night in the city. Breakfast is a bargain for the money paid Overall and with a smile - the hotel is OK for 1 night with no A/C If you stay longer you want to get this fixed
"Alright if your staying for 1 night"
Staff were not that friendly although helpful, very dirty housing at the back and connected to the back of our room creating much noise. metro trains going nearby. We had very noisy neighbours, at 1-5 o clock in the morning!! People can smoke I believe except for our "non smoking floor" I think although going to make sure if that is correct. Crumbling plaster in one of the rooms. Insecure doors we found, even with sharing a balcony, bathroom size was ridiculous in my opinion, way to small. I think it is not suitable for families with young children but ok if you need a stop in milan.
"Really Great Central Location!"
Located on the main shopping street, Corso Buenos Aires, and less than a minute's walk to the Lima stop on the metro red line, the location is really great and you can make your way around the city from this central location. Surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars it was great for going out in the evenings. The breakfast was standard mainland European but was nice and they did have a few hot options to choose from too. The bar/lobby area was small enough but really nice and the service provided by hotel staff was quite exceptional. The elevator is very small (Fits maybe 3 people, or 2 with small suitcases), so most of the time we would take the stairs... Simply because it was quicker than waiting. Also with a street facing room, the traffic noise can be pretty loud when a door or window is open, when closed this wasn't an issue as the soundproofing was really good, we generally used the A/C and had no problems. I really enjoyed our stay here and I would definitely return!

"Short break in Milan"
Brilliant hotel & staff. Absolutely spotless. In a fantastic location for train station, shops and discovering the city. Great value for money. Free wifi & a free welcome drink. We forgot about the City Tax which is €5 pppn in this hotel, so an extra €30 for our break but it still only worked out approx £75 a night B&B which is great. Would stay again without question.

"Nicely located for Short Stay"
Room was quite small but good enough for 2 people to share. Space is not generous in terms of storage and relaxation. Centrally located within shops and close to everything. Plenty of eateries to choose from nearby. Breakfast room was good size. Good service. I would have liked to see an extra water dispenser (i.e. hot water for tea/coffee). There was only one hot drink station and only 2 people could use it at a time. When it got busy there was less supply of hot water. Hot flask readily available for tea on busy times could do the trick. One downside to my stay was I encountered a problem bringing more than 2 people in my room. I had guests reconnecting from childhood days and happened to be living in Milan. I appreciated it may be to do with hotel policy but it was quite of a disappointment as I would have preferred to move less. I was recovering from tiredness and did not want to rush to go out. Simply because my guest and her daughter were not allowed in. We were given a complimentary voucher for a welcome drink to consume whenever we were ready, Which was nice. Over all my stay was comfortable.

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review, we are pleased to know that you had a pleasant stay at our hotel. We are sorry for the little inconvenience regarding your friends, but in Italy hotel's security rules are very strict and it is not allowed to host in the room more people in addition to the registered guests for more than one hour and always by asking everybody for an ID card. However we hope to have you again among our guests and we send you our best regards. Best Western Hotel City Assistant Manager Jasmin Umana
"What a bargain!"
I booked three nights in the Best Western City hotel for my partner's birthday last weekend. Having stayed in various Best Western hotels before I was assured of a certain level of comfort and I'm happy to report no problems with this hotel. We arrived around 5pm after a short walk from Milan Central Station, check in was smooth and we were invited for a complimentary drink that evening. On entering the room, it was spacious and clean if a little too hot, but it was very warm that weekend. We turned up the aircon and though it didn't make much difference eventually the room cooled down. Before heading out we took the hotel up on the offer of a free drink and we're given a glass of prosecco and some canapes, there's not a bar as such in the hotel, just a trolley in the reception/lounge area, but I appreciated the effort and it was a nice touch. Over the 3 night stay we noticed the reception was manned at all times which was assuring and entry was controlled later on in the evening. In the rooms, you get a flat screen TV complete with a variety of channels in a number of languages but there's so much to see in the city you shouldn't stay in and watch TV, there's also a small mini bar, we only drunk the water which was reasonable at €2 but with all mini bars watch out for racking up a bill. Having done a lot of research to find a good hotel for a good price I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, it is in an ideal location with lots of bars, restaurants and shops right outside as well as a metro link. Top marks!
"Excellent location!"
The hotel is at a very central location! Near central station and about 20 min walk to Piazza Duomo. The staff is very friendly and willing to help anytime. Clean! The breakfast has a really good variety for every taste. Recommended!
"Nice Hotel; Disappointing Service"
I rarely find myself having to take to Trip Advisor however after attempting twice to make contact with this hotel after my visit; I am. Nothing wrong with the hotel or general service. Bathroom problems were fixed after a bit of perseverance. Great central location. One of the best breakfasts for the money to be found. However; I urge future guests to check very carefully any taxi arrangements made by or through the hotel; specifically for cost. I'm an experienced traveller but I was still stung when I booked a taxi thro reception and ended up paying almost 4 times the going rate. I've emailed the hotel directly to enquire why I wasn't informed of the excessive charges but no one has replied. If the manager would care to get in touch or reply to both of my emails then I'd welcome that. In the meantime; just check fares and bookings made thro the hotel very carefully.
"Nice hotel "
More like a 3 star hotel in my opinion but on a great busy street with awesome shopping & food all around - about a 15-20 minute walk to the Galleria Duomo & Milan Cathedral so location is perfect - if you in Milan to shop, might be worthwhile to visit the outlet mall called Serravelle however it is 1.5 hours away. Foxtown is another outlet mall over the border in Switzerland but an hour away from Milan. The room was modern & clean - rooms are spacious however bathrooms are average & tiny, water does not drain quick enough as well while bathing. Shower is in the bath tub. Breakfast is average but not bad for 3 Euro per person. If you have a car, hotel is parking is shared with Best Western Galles which is literally a few 100 metres away underground.
"Nice hotel, good location!"
Stayed here for three days. The hotel was located on Corso Buenos Aires and a lot of shopping and restaurants were to be found nearby. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was good, offering yoghurt, cereals, eggs, croissants, bread and fruit. Nice and helpful staff. Overall a very good experience!
"Our Top Choice Hotel in Corso Buenos Aires,Milan Italy"
Best Western Hotel City is centrally located along Corso Buenos Aires in Milan. Corso Buenos Aires is a major street for shopping and restaurants. The closest metro station,Lima, is just 3-5 minutes walk from the hotel and from Lima station, you can reach Milano Centrale in 5-7 minutes. Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele are 7-10 minute Uber ride from hotel. Hop on/off bus for City Sightseeing is around 3-4 blocks away. Staff are very welcoming and they automatically helped us with our heavy luggage, since there was a stairs going to the elevator. They offered a welcome drink with aperitivo from 6-9pm while 24/7 Coffee and pastries are available at the lobby. Our room was big with a balcony. It was nice and clean. Free wifi in the room. Breakfast was good. Price of this hotel was reasonable. Over all stay was excellent.

"Very nice hotel"
Very nice hotel with great location at the Corso Buenos Aires. In the middle of shopping and restaurants. We had a nice big room with a little balcony. Very welcoming and helpfull staf in the reception area. Free wifi in the rooms. Nice breakfast. Only minus is that you can hear everything from the corridor, the walls are not sound prof. Alt in all a great experience.

"Excellent place to stay"
Very well located, shopping restaurants and metro station in front of hotel, what to ask more in Milan. The staff is excellent, the morning breakfast is fantastic. This is Milan so the rooms are smaller then America standards. For Europe the rooms are considered big. If you want big rooms stay outside of Milan, where there is no subway and no restaurants and no commercial road. The hotel is right on Corso Buenos so consider some traffic noice during the day but at night quite less noice.

"Great hotel, convenient location."
Really like this hotel. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are also very big and the bath is a bonus. The room was spotless and very well maintained. Breakfast is very good with plenty of options. Staff at reception and in the breakfast area were very friendly and helpful. I stayed here on a previous trip and was happy to book it again for this trip as I liked it so much. I hope to return on my next visit to Milan. The hotel is very convenient for the Metro and is about a 20 minute walk from Stazione Centrale.

"Sort of good!"
Hotel was really good, staff were 5*, room was above expectations and spacious. Breakfast was better than expected. 24 hour free coffee. Good value for money. So overall good! BUT my wife is wheelchair dependant and this hotel falls short! steps from lobby to lift were not mentioned before booking. It's such a shame that such a lovely hotel falls short on such a basic principle. Access to all is so important and so often overlooked.
"Nice, clean hotel at a good location"
Nice, clean hotel at a good location. Only 50 meters from the metro station Lima, from where you can be by the metro at Duomo, city center, in about 7 minutes. At the doorstep of the hotel is the biggest commercial road, Corso Buenos Aires, the OXford Street of Milan, where you can do your shopping. Staff was kind, breakfast also good with great variety. Highly recommend this hotel, I would stay again.

"Exceeded expectations"
We booked the hotel for a long weekend with family. Recently we had a positive experience with Best Western hotels. And this one was not an exception, it even exceeded our expectations. "Best Value in Fashion City"
Best Western City Hotel offers quiet, clean and comfortable accommodation in a city where money seems to be no object, especially when it comes to fashion. the staff are friendly and willing to help. the breakfast buffet is typically European and provides a great start for the day. It is within easy walking distance of the fashion centre and historical sites.

"Highly Recommended!"
We stayed there for 5 days in June 2016 with my family. Everything was ok. The hotel is at the central part of the city. We really enjoyed our visit. Do not hesitate to ask for help to Mr. Omer. He will be kindly help you about anything Thanks for your hospitality. Thanks for everything. I hilghly recommend this place!
"My first choice at Milan"
This hotel has a great location for transportation and sightseeing! It is located at the heart of the city and on one of the popular and live street of Milan. Great customer service and friendly stuff. Hotel manager Omer Bey is very kind and professional. Comfortable, clean rooms. Breakfast is amazing. I highly recommend this hotel during your stay in Milan.
"Ok city stay"
Our experience here was ok. Not bad, not great. Good comfy bed and spacious room. A jug was provided with ample free tea and coffee (not always a given in parts of Europe!). Breakfast was plentiful. The continental parts were great with lots of fresh fruit but the cooked elements (bacon and scrambled eggs) always looked dry and unappetising. Shower was old and the sliding door a little broken. Reception staff were obliging and friendly enough but it kind of felt like they were just 'going through the motions' and we were just another set of guests to check in. Having said that though, the breakfast buffet staff were very friendly! Overall it was ok. Very pricy but that was probably due to the location. It felt old and tired.
"Great location, helpful staff!"
We only stayed one night, yet saw so many things in Milan because front desk staff Eliana was wonderful in making recommendations for us. The room had everything we needed, was clean, quiet, close to Metro, and looked out on a busy shopping street which kept us entertained when we weren't out sightseeing. The hotel kindly kept our luggage until we had to leave for the train. Very nice stay, would definitely return next time.

"A great hotel! "
Recently stayed here with my husband for 2 nights. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the train station which was handy. Hotel was really nice! Breakfast room was lovely and well stocked. Room was very clean along with the bathroom. Free wifi and safe usage was a bonus. Quite a reasonably priced mini bar in room too. We were surprised that our room had a terrace which was lovely to relax on! Staff were friendly and very helpful, giving advice on trips out etc. The only downside was the small lift which took ages to call as it served whole hotel which had 7 floors! Sometimes it was quicker to walk to the 7th floor! Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.

"Small hotel with very good service"
I would say this hotel is definitely good. very professional and polite staff. the rooms were spotless clean, we had everything we expected. the breakfast buffet had a variety of warm and cold foods. house keeping works properly. the WIFI internet connection was also adequate. everything was suitably arranged and standardized. The location was also really fine and you could have access to everywhere by metro. I am glad that we have chosen this hotel to stay.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mrs. Sarah, thank you for you nice review, we really appreciate your positive comments because they give us speed in improving our services. We hope to have the possibility to have you again among our guests. Kind regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Great Location, Clean and Comfortable!!"
We recently stayed here with my wife and 20yr old son, July 2-5, 2016 and loved it. Great location, 20meters to the metro. It was very clean and the room was very large. Breakfast was awesome as well, hardly what I would call continental as each morning there was a great selection of meat, cheeses, brioche, fruits, cereals, yogurts, pancakes, eggs and bacon! The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. The bathroom was very large and clean and the maids were very efficient. They take the towel conservation as well. As we normally hang the towels on the hooks provided, if you don't throw them on the floor (as per the sign) the maids will not change them. However, as soon as we called for new towels we received them without delay. Great place, great price. If we get back to Milan we will definitely stay there again!

Dear Maluza, thank you for taking time to review our hotel. We are pleased to become aware of your satisfaction regarding our services; we pay particularly attention to narrow environmental pollution, therefor we have instructions signs in bathrooms and on beds for towels and linen changing; it's a little gesture that helps a lot! We hope to have the possibility to have you and your family again among our guests. Best regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Fantastic little hotel"
Travelling on my own, I was a little worried, but it turned out it was an excellent find. It's only a 15min walk from Milano Centrale, and a 20min walk to the Duomo. My room was at the back of the hotel so it was blissfully quiet, and even though it was a single room, it wasn't as 'cosy' as I was expecting. Clean and modern throughout. The staff were lovely and friendly, and ever so helpful, and adding breakfast turned out to be a bargain. My only complaint, and it's not even a complaint as it didn't apply to me but it may be problematic for others, is the lift is a little small! Other than that, I'd definitely stay there again, and recommend to others.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Miss, thank you for taking some time to write your review about your recent stay in our hotel. We are very happy that you were satisfied as alone travelling lady, we know it could be a little worrying during these times, but our hotel is the right place to stay at because everything is close by and our location is quite safe, always considering that we are in big city, you can move around by feet or with the undergroud without feeling uncomfortable. We hope that you will be able to come back, kind regards. BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Clean,comfortable stay"
I stayed here with my husband yesterday. En route to Lake Garda. The hotel is very central and on a busy street which didn't effect my sleep. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. Our room was very large with all amenities we could have needed. The bathroom had a shower and bath. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The toilet seat was loose however but didn't have time to mention it as it was a quick visit. Breakfast was continental. Lots of choice. Probably could do with a bit more attention to detail as things went being filled up when empty but staff helpfully did so when asked. We would stay again.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mrs. Aless, thank you so much for your review! We aim to offer a warm welcoming and to assure the best services for our guests. We hope that you will have the opportunity to come again to Milano for a longer stay, we would be pleased to have you again among our guests. "Rip off"
I visited Milan during Champions League. City was crowded. Booked late on ? Website. Did nt look around enough so got absolutely fleeced. Thought with Best Western you get a reliable chain but it's an Independant / franchised so can charge what they want. Will be very carefull again. Charged 6x normal rate. Disgrace but I the mug. Staff friendly and helpful, very centrally situated, but Website has it in a different part of city so diff to find. ( as at best it is a 3 star , so does nt stand out - but clean). Would not go there again. Thank you
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Sir, we would like to inform you that you have probably choosen the wrong hotel for your review. There are more than 12 Best Western hotels in Milano and some of your disappointments don't match with our hotel: - we normally have very good rates even during the most important fairs and we didn't higher them particularly up during this recent Champions' League event - our website map is directly linked to Google Maps, therefor it locates us exactly where we are Best regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Great Location"
Stayed here for 10 nights. Comfortable room with ample space over street. A little noisy with windows open. Nice breakfast included in price of room. Subway station very close to hotel entrance. Bank, shopping and restaurants surround the hotel. Good overall value. Very clean.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Sheree, thank you for your nice comments, we are pleased that you have enjoyed your quite long stay in our hotel and we hope that you will come back soon. Kind regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Great place to stay"
This hotel suited our needs. It is standard international chain hotel, the kind you like or don't according to your personal taste. Room was good size, quiet, facing away from street, spotless as was the bathroom. The breakfast was top class, good fresh fruit and cheese, hot croissants excellent coffee - with a terrific, vigilant, 2-woman team making sure that everything was replenished before it ran out completely, tables cleared efficiently. All calmly and quietly. The lift is tiny, and you have to climb a few steps to access it so that would be a difficulty for a person with walking disability. Otherwise,

"good"
It is not the kind of hotel we like to book because we would prefer little accommodations with a character. But this is just a personal preference. The City hotel is nice, clean, nice room and you can feel that there is a management strongly customer oriented.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Guest, thank you very much for your comments, we are really pleased that you were satisfied with our product and services, especially because it sounds like you are a "hotel connoiseur" and this has much meaning for us. With our best regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Adequate, bad water pressure"
Accomodations were adequate, however hot water took 12 minutes (timed on iPhone) to come through and water pressure was poor. What it lacked in luxury was made up for by the staff who were very welcoming, pleasant and helpful.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mrs. Julie, thank you for sharing your experience in our hotel. We are very sorry about the discomfort caused by the weak water pressure, we hope that this episode will not prejudice you future stays in our hotel. Kind regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"A Convenient Budget Stay"
We stayed here from 3rd to 9th March as part of our 3-wk European holiday/honeymoon. We had chosen to stay here because of its' close proximity to the metro and that it is along one of the bustling streets that has shopping and eateries. It is also a good 20-25 minutes of walk to the Duomo Milan cathedral. The location came up to be one of the best for us. The breakfast selection was average but it wasn't bad. Nothing over the top. They had eggs and a selection of croissants. There were meat too for those non-vegetarian & non-Muslims to enjoy. We don't expect much anyway considering this hotel as one of the budget stays. The room had a very tiny kettle for about 500ml of water which we felt should be upgraded to a 1000ml of kettle. It is rather inconvenient making hot drinks when we have to boil it again & again. The tea & coffee sachets provided for us were certainly useful though. The bed was big enough for the 2 of us, and we slept really well throughout our stay. This is great despite having our rooms facing the street. Our other gripe was that it gets too hot in the room (considering that we are Singaporeans & we come from a country which is generally 30-degC thoughout the year!) and we had to open the balcony doors a few times at night to cool ourselves down. But it's not something that will stop us from selecting to stay in this hotel again if we come to Milan next time. Access to wifi should be improved. We had to constantly request for a "ticket" to get a new username/password every 24 or 48 hours during our stay. They don't have the normal free wifi where you access via given username/password once. Best Western may need to look into this. It's quite inconvenient having to keep asking for new "tickets" when we are in the middle of planning our trips on our mobile or laptops. Other than the few gripes, it was a lovely and comfortable stay at a convenient location!
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mrs. Hana, thank you so much for your detailed review about your recent stay in our hotel. We are pleased to become aware of your experience, this is the best way for us to improve our services. With reference to your suggestions for improving our WiFi service, you are perfectly right and we want to inform you that we are working on it and soon we will have a more powerful connection with one general longlasting password for all your devices, as per Best Westerns' international standards which have been recently approved for the italian hotels division. We hope that you will have another occasion to stay in our hotel and to experience our improvements. Best regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Good Hotel for the price"
The hotel is clean and has a friendly staff. The location is great, only 1 block from the metro, and plenty of restaurants and shopping located nearby. The 1 euro breakfast is nice, just stay away from the eggs.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Patrick, thank you for your kind review, we are sorry that you did not like our scambled eggs, normally they are very appreciated by all our guest, as they are high quality products. We will certainly have a check, thank you for your reporting. Best regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Good but not great "
This hotel has nice rooms and good location. Breakfast is nice but gets boring after couple of days. There's one lovely male staff that works the breakfast room and is very friendly. Housekeeping staff are friendly but reception staff not as much. There is one lovely friendly lady called eleina on reception that works normally in the day, she is very helpful. The men staff not as friendly. There's not much to do at the hotel but there's plenty of shopping around. It's also very very close to Lima metro stop which is very convenient. There's also a small supermarket and tabacci shop close by. Good location of hotel for short shopping trip!
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Jaspal, thank you for you review, you are right we are the best place to be if you want to explore the city and do some shopping. Corso Buenos Aires is full of shops and restaurants and thanks to the underground you can reach all places in a few minutes, on foot you can go to the Duomo Cathedral in 20 minutes, it's a very nice walk! Hoping to have you again among our guests, I send you my best regards. BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"Great Choice On Corso Buenos Aires."
Well positioned hotel near to Lima metro stop on Corso Buenos Aires. Room/Bathroom was very clean. Special mention must be made to Massimo on reception who was welcoming and helpful, dealing with minor issues promptly and with a smile. Great breakfast selection. Would happily stay here again

"Very comfortable stay, great breakfast"
Great hotel, for a great rate on New Year's Eve! Just a quick walk to the Metro will get you to the Duomo in four stops. The street is very busy and noisy, but we had a room that faced away from the street and even had a small balcony. It was very quiet. The Metro goes underneath the hotel so I recommend a higher floor. We were on the third floor and could still hear/feel it some. It didn't bother us, kind of like occasional rolling thunder. The bed was so comfortable. We had trouble with the temperature of the water in the shower not being hot enough and the tub not draining well. The room had a kettle which was nice to have for morning tea or coffee. The WiFi worked really well. Great breakfast selections, scrambled eggs, all kinds of Italian cakes, croissants. We used the hotel parking which is a very secure underground garage a few blocks away. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

"After changing the room it was nice"
The hotel is quite nice, we didn't have breakfast there since they're so many cafés around the corner that is worth trying different things and not just regular buffet. Be sure to get a room with a balcony or not in the main street, it's so loud you will not get any sleep. The small rooms also suck, crappy showers with not regular european standard. The medium size room bathroom was nice, with a renewed bathroom with bathtub. For some reason they take ages to clean the room, what it may good or bad, you decide. Free coffee and candy at the reception, WiFI was most of the time ok, not sooo slow. BAD POINTS: The charged us at the an unexpected city tax that you could never seen while doing the online reservation, so at the end we have to pay +5 EUR pro person pro night more (30€ for 3 nights). Italians are cheaters!!! So be aware of this. The location was GREAT for shopping.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Sir, thank you for your comments, we will take care of your precious suggestions. Please note that the city tax rules are explained in every reservation system, they are indipendent from hotels' management and we are forced to ask our guests to pay this fee, therefor every system has published a specific policy, even beacuse rules are different in every city. It's really a pity that you did not enjoy our breakfast service, our guests love our buffet! We hope you will be able to come back and try it! Kind regards, BEST WESTERN Hotel City The Manager Omar Sozuer
"great hotel"
I had a triple room and room was very nice and clean. Nice balcony overlooking the busy street.Very good breakfast. Reception staff was very helpful. Great location with loads of shops and very near metro. Just a few steps away and 4 stops to the Doumo. Very good restaurants near by which were very busy with locals. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

"The best hotel in Milan"
Its my second time in this hotel in this wonderful city. And im sure i will come back to this hotel. Massimo and Eliana in the reception are so kind and warm people. The breakfest in this hotel is the best i have ever had. Shortless, i recommend this hotel!!! Sapir, Israel

"Excellent"
The hotel is located on one of the busy streets in Milan. It is in walking distance from the Central Train Station (20 minutes to be more precise). City centre and the Dome can also be reached by foot but it does take a while. I recommend taking the subway which is just 100 metres away. The area is good for shopping and there are also a few nice terraces and bars around. Breakfast was good with a good choice of foods. Room was very good and although it had a view to the main street, it was quiet.

"Excellent value"
For its location on one of the main thoroughfares of the city, you cannot beat the Best Western Hotel City for value. Good WiFi and bathrooms, stayed here really comfortably with a friend. Particularly appreciated the walking proximity to the Metro, good eating and drinking options, and several supermarkets so we could buy our own stuff. A great hotel for the traveller who wants options.

"The place to be"
This Best Western is located in Milano City at the best place to be, close to the metro, the sightseeing bus and a walk away from all restaurants, stores, museum you need. A real nice place to be with a good breakfast and services as it should.

"OK but a bit disappointing..."
At the reception and during breakfast service, all staff from the hotel was pretty helpful, very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is fine, personally is more than enough for me, they even had soy milk for those who can't have dairy products. In what regards to the room, that's another story... Disappointing... I wasn't expecting such a small hotel room like the one I was... I barely had room for my laptop on the "desk" to work at night... I'm also attaching the pictures from the view I had from my balcony. It's good to highlight that the room was cleaned and equipped with the usual stuff. Overall its OK...
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mrs, Isabel, thank you for your kind review about your stay in our hotel. "Shopping in Milano"
It is an ideal place for those who go to Milano for shopping. Corso Buenos Aires is one of the main streets where the middle class shops are situated. The hotel is not big, but very accurate, with clean rooms and very tasty Italian breakfasts. There are many cafes and restaurants near the hotel. It takes 15 minute to walk to the Gallery and Duomo di Milano.

"Great experiance at the "hotel city""
Very nice and pleasant hotel. Great breakfast, very clean rooms, very helpful and professional staff. Highly recommended hotel in the perfect location in Milan. The metro station is within 30 seconds walking distance, many stores for shopping.

"Pretty Average"
The hotel rooms are small but generally comfortable. The furnishings are ok and the bathroom is adequate.I was fortunate to have a room at the end of the building and this room had a small walkout balcony. Nothing to see except the opposite building but nice to have an open area. The breakfast was nothing special but it was ok and there was a good assortment and enough to ear. But...the lift is so small that it only holdings 3 people or one person & the luggage. At peak times there can be a long long wait and then there are the 7 steps to climb up from reception to get to the lift. The lift is a real pain and the main reason for my average score. Next is the plumbing, you can hear the flushing or the shower from the adjoining rooms. So if you want to sleep in no chance as this hotel is popular with the business crowd and they are up early. A plus is it is less than a block to the subway stop and about a 15 minute walk to the main railway station and it is located on a very popular shopping street (mid-market). The.bed is reasonably comfortable & the linen & towels are nice. But the hotel is not what I would rate as 4 star & the building is certainly nothing to look at..

"poor choice"
Downgraded area, rude receptionist, noisy room, poor breakfast, and poor value, not worth mentioning the staircase in front of the elevator?!!.... You can find a much better place in Milan for this price.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Mr. Santiago, we would like to thank you for your comment, even if it is really short and, let me say, a little unfair. I invite you to have a look at the other guests' comments, you will certainly notice that almost all our guests are very satisfied with our services and location. Probably something went wrong during your stay and we are really sorry about that; unfortunately ww didn't have the possibility to meet and have a short talk about your dissatisfaction, this is really a pity. "A good stop in Milan"
It might be within walking distance from the main train station, but if you have luggage, better to take a taxi. Metro stop LIMA a short walk from hotel. Very friendly and helpful front desk. Greeting people with genuine warmth. The lady and gentleman who were on duty on Sept 26 in the afternoon are an asset to the hotel. A good start to visiting the city of Milan. Good, informative maps provided at the front desk. Luggage had to be carried up,to the next level in order to use the lift to get to the rooms on the 2nd floor. Rooms were adequate for a single or double, bedding clean and fresh. We had the best complimentary breakfast the next morning. Superb selection of hot and cold cereals, fruits, pastries.

"Lack of Security"
While staying at this hotel I was robbed. Prior to going out for the evening I locked my laptop, camera and lenses in the room safe and set the combination. On my return I found that I was unable to open the safe as the combination had been changed. Eventually it was opened by a member of the hotel staff. I then found the above items missing. I was not the only guest robbed in this way. If you have any valuables and wish to retain them, I cannot recommend this hotel.

"Robbery!"
What do you say about the place where your belongings were stolen from the security box behind the locked door of your room? There were more people who had been rubbed at the same time. We had to spend a night with carabinieris investigating sloppy security in the hotel.

"Excellent Value in Milan"
We stayed here at the end of Aug 2015, and had looked at many options before making this reservation. We were very pleased with the value of this hotel. The room wasn't large - but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were gone most of the day looking at the sites anyway. The bed was comfortable; everything was clean; staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a back side room which was very quiet - although I suspect that a front, street side room might be noisy. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the train station and a 30 min walk to the Duomo area. We like to walk, but it would have been easy from this hotel to take public transportation to any of the main sites. All in all - we considered this a great option in Milan.
Omar S, Direttore at BEST WESTERN Hotel City, responded to this review
Dear Guest, thank you for your positive and detailed review about your stay in our Hotel, we are very happy to become aware of your satisfaction. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again in a very next future, and don't worry, even our street side rooms are quiet thanks to soundproofed windows. "Good location"
Hotel has a good location and is easy to walk into central milan browsing shops and park. Simple but clean hotel. Breakfast is good and staff are all helpful. No bar as such but is a sitting area in lobby. If using a taxi there is another best western close by
