Description

On Cricklewood Broadway in north-west London, The Crown London brings a touch of grandeur to a well-connected corner of the capital. The Grade II-listed Victorian building has real presence, from its handsome architecture to its high-ceilinged interiors, and its rooms are spacious and quietly stylish, a calm retreat from the city's hum. Arrive after a day on your feet and the building's character settles around you at once. There is plenty to enjoy under one roof. The Grill Restaurant serves relaxed dining just steps from your room, while the bar provides a welcoming place to unwind, and a well-equipped gym and a sun terrace round out the stay. Four versatile meeting and event rooms make it a capable choice for work as well as leisure. Sink into a seat in the lounge as evening falls, all dark wood and Victorian proportions, and the day's pace eases. The location works hard for you. Wembley Stadium and the Brent Cross shopping centre are close, the cricketing home of Lord's lies a few miles off, and Portobello Road and Camden are within easy reach. Frequent buses and Tube links carry you into the West End, Soho and the rest of central London in around 20 minutes, so the capital's landmarks never feel far. Whether you are here for a match, a show or a city break, base yourself at The Crown London, WorldHotels Distinctive hotel, and let London open up from your doorstep.

"Avoid this hotel — this experience has felt like a scam"
Rasty33, 05 Octobre 2026

Ordinary rooms, an underwhelming breakfast and a noisy location. But the real problem was the service. I chose this hotel because it had parking. Reception authorised access, explained how to use it and, at check-out, assured us that all outstanding charges were settled. A year later, I am still being pursued by an international debt collection agency over two parking notices. Hotel management has offered no meaningful solution and appears unwilling to take responsibility. I feel misled by the staff and completely let down by management. To me, this whole experience has felt like a scam. I would never stay here again. I strongly recommend booking somewhere else.

"Grubby and tired"
Erica S, 05 Octobre 2026

The rooms were tired and not well kept. My daughter and I were first checked into a room that smelled damp, with laminate flooring that separated when you stood on it. The floor had not been swept or hoovered, with rubbish and fluff on the floor. There were three beds and the base in one of them was very worn. When I complained I was first shown to a room with a double bed - not the twin I had booked. I was then shown to a “family room” with two double beds which was much cleaner at first glance. At this point it was almost midnight and I just wanted to go to bed. On closer inspection the tiles in the bathroom were loose on the floor by the door and on the side of the bath and the shower fitting was not attached to the wall, meaning that the only way to shower was to hold the shower head over you. There were also stains on the carpet and marks on the skirting board. The veneer on the top of the chest of drawers has been peeled and torn off, yet this was left in the room. The bed vases in both rooms were mismatched and some of them were extremely worn. Mismatched carpet is in the hallways. The swimming pool is empty. This hotel does not seemed to be cared for. The lack of maintenance to all areas away from reception was shocking. I did complain to the manager the next morning who offered a complimentary breakfast as a ‘goodwill' gesture. Whilst I appreciate this gesture, and realise that the manager was at least trying, even this breakfast was mediocre at best. I really feel for the front of house staff at this hotel, who tried to make my stay better, but unfortunately they are working in a very poorly maintained environment.

"Rather sleep in a tent"
Karl W, 04 Octobre 2026

Good god I've stayed in better tents then this hotel , 4* more like 1* plus (plus I'd for the reception staff) Where shall I begin …… Room 262 don't stay there you'll see dodgy people hanging outside your window waiting for a bus and the smell of weed just adds that extra spice to your already 1970s faulty towers vibe !!! The list is endless so I'll break it down and bullet point them so you'll get the just Breakfast , don't have soya milk for dairy intolerance you have to go without as stated by the smiley waiter , hot drinks served in paper cups and no teaspoons , wooden sticks, (thought I was at costa for a minute) , food luke warm and sausages looked like they were flashed fried and hash browns that looked so overcooked you could use them as door stops !!! Room , no telephone , no floor Lamp , dust on floor used toilet roll still on the floor from the last occupants , pillows so flat I thought they were tea towels , FYI you need a degree to operate the shower unit ! O and to top it all of people can see you having a shower. To be honest I'd rather sleep in an open field than this hotel !!! They had a big wedding party in there yesterday and they made my wife very uncomfortable asking her to move for photos while she's checking in plus interrupting whilst your talking , think they thought they had the whole hotel to themselves !!! Well Cricklewood you'll leave an everlasting impression on us and unfortunately it's not good .ive sent a detailed report to the hotel review board asking why this is a 4* hotel because if that's the case then premier inn should Be that as well , they offer a better environment then the AIG group I would say it's been emotional because it literally has and strressful and disgusting!!! You're lucky you have 1* , that's for the receptionist

"Horrible, filthy, dirty, mouldy unclean rooms"
David d, 26 Septembre 2026

Never stay here !!! Word of warning for everyone. It was the most horrible hotel i have ever stayed in. Rooms were filthy, unclean, dirty, old and mouldy. This is not a four star hotel, it is more like a one star hotel. We changed rooms three times trying to find a cleaner room, and promised they would upgrade us to an executive room after our experience. We were supposed to stay 8 nights, but left early. We did have another 4 night stay booked for the following week, but we cancelled. The General Manager Niskarsh promised us a refund in writing of $1348 Aust dollars, but we still havent seen it…… its been over 7 weeks now. I am certain this hotel would not comply to the UK Health and Safety standards.

"The Crown Hotel Cricklewood"
Alexandra J N, 14 Septembre 2026

Been on a holiday for 9 nights staying at The Crown Hotel in Cricklewood on Broadway, and this experience with the hotel was above every expectation. Staff been very helpful, nice and gentle professional and a great team to have around for these 9 nights as I was staying for a concert at Wemley Stadium. Each day I went for breakfast and ended with a drink in the bar and the Elephant & Barrel Game Lounge! It is a clean and beautiful environment with the epehant Duke greeting you by the front entrance. Rooms very clean, gym very clean, meals really tasty and its offered alot of different dishes on the menu. Good for lactose and vegetarians aswell with nice dining rooms making you feel comfortable and taken care of. The hotel also offers alot of events so if you are lucky you get to see different events happening while staying! The assistant manager is a great person always there to help and make sure you got everything you need. Am very grateful for this pleasant 10 days staying and having everything close by, London is only 30 minutes away with the rail and metro! We will come back to explore more! Alexandra & OLLiE

"A decent hotel."
sovenna, 13 Septembre 2026

This is a decent hotel. The staff are lovely. We had an issue with our room and were moved without quibble. The staff will bring your luggage to your room. The manager is very efficient and friendly. The communal areas in this hotel are beautiful. It's an historic building. Our room was clean and comfortable. Bring your own hairdryer as like most hotels the hairdryers are rubbish! Kettle coffee and tea and milk in the room. A working tv . All hotels need occasional refurbs and refreshment and this no different. It was clean, a good bed and we had everything we needed. Yes I would return. We didn't eat here but would next time. The barman appeared to measure wine by eye until I asked what the measures were supposed to be. I worked in a pub many years ago so know what they should be. The group uses AI to answer the phone which is useless and ridiculous as you always need a real live person to deal with enquiries.

"Avoid"
Lee C, 11 Septembre 2026

I don't know how this hotel has 4 stars as it doesn't even qualify as a 1 star hotel. The reception area looks great and that's as good as it gets, once you get past the reception it is all down hill. The hotel is dirty and tired and need a complete refurbishment. The rooms were not very pleasant and even the swimming pool had green mould

"Watch Out... A Camera About... (In your bedroom behind the mirror)"
nickbestwick, 07 Septembre 2026

I am horrified and rather uneasy about writing this review. Having had two stays in this hotel in the past few months, both stays could not have been further from each end of the spectrum... The first one was OK/Good. Had a burger on the evening from the pub and breakfast the morning after, which was a total shambles and unpleasant for guests and the only two members of staff working with a full hotel... The second visit was embarrassing to be staying here. After reaching my room 5th floor, the curtains would not close,.and given the flats opposite felt my fat folds are better kept between me and the bathroom mirror, so went to Reception to change rooms. I was offered a room on the ground floor. And upon closer inspection BEHIND THE MIRROR WERE TWO CAMERA'S. It was the main mirror in the bedroom, and coupled with only one small window in the bathroom (bedroom was a windowless one I hadn't booked) and no air con meant a very unpleasant stay. Avoid ground floor rooms and perhaps until this hotel can confirm that NO cameras are present in any bedrooms, as it would seem thereay be more.

"Scruffy Hotel, but was OK"
Red9uk, 28 Août 2026

This hotel is long past its glory days and the photographs do not really represent what it's like when you're here. It is tired, rundown and in need of refurbishment which is unlikely. However, the good points: Comfy bed Clean bed Spacious room Excellent AC RoomSafe Tv The shower was okay, but the bathroom fitting is dated and the showerhead didn't work properly. As I've been mentioned everywhere else the carpets are scruffy and don't look that clean. The public hallways corridors are scruffy and musky smell. The stairway carpets are awful and the downstairs former spa and pool is all closed and dilapidated. There is car parking underneath for about £19 a day I didn't eat in this hotel as I don't think the standards are good enough. In my opinion. I checked the local council food safety and they have a certificate of three out of five which is good. Certainly nowhere near good enough for a hotel in my opinion. The breakfast was however I only ate pastries been bought in and decided I would not eat any of their food. The crown pub attached to the hotel is excellent nice beer, big TVs staff are excellent. Cricklewood itself the hotel is right in the middle however it's a dump and dodgy area from what it looks like. There are a McDonald's Burger King coffee nearby and apart from that the usual Asian takeaways vape shops et cetera Op to the hotel is a brilliant Turkish restaurant takeaway café I think it's called 49. The food is brilliant and it's clean and the service is excellent. I don't recommend this hotel, although if we're prepared to accept it's tatty and don't eat the food then it's okay, I guess

"Avoid this s***hole!!"
Saavytr73, 26 Août 2026

It was a horrible experience. The hotel was run down and in a very shady neighbourhood. The carpets were filthy. The rooms stank. The showers and tubs were stained and unclean. The passages were dark. It was worse than renting something in a village in Africa!! Avoid it! Its a scam! The photos are fake.

"London 2026"
kellzbellz1987, 26 Août 2026

Great base for our London trip. Regular buses to the wider area and tube locations. Room was clean and spacious. Beds and pillows comfortable. Good selection for breakfast.

"Nice family getaway"
Dale R, 26 Août 2026

Breakfast was really good, breakfast team really polite. Room could have been a bit cleaner.

"Basic but run down in need of an update!"
Emma C, 22 Août 2026

We stayed here for a concert in Wembley which was ideal as only 3 stops away however the hotel is a good 15 mins from the tube. We had two rooms one was ok and the other was very dated, smelt of damp and just generally had a dirty feel to it. Breakfast was very basic, for what we paid we expected more. We wouldn't stay again.

"Family Stay at The Crown"
Jennie H, 21 Août 2026

Hotel was clean and very comfortable beads, we were pleasantly surprised at the value of the drinks in the bar. Breakfast was nice and Vanessa particularly attentive. We would stay again and recommend.

"Concert stay"
Camper557405, 20 Août 2026

Handy hotel for our stay for a concert at Wembley. Had a standard twin room which was a good size with a double and 2 single beds however the room was very basic. No window as room was on an internal corridor so a bit dark and dingy with no natural light. Was air con but was at a set temperature and couldn't get any cooler. Hoped to use the pool at hotel but was told this was closed and no date for reopening. Staff were friendly and breakfast was ok. Overall disappointing for the price

"Dirty hotel rooms"
Kam C, 18 Août 2026

Wouldn't recommended staying here at all, i'm a completely honest person do not waste your money if you want stained bedsheets and a dirty bed. The condition of this hotel looks good on pictures but is not what I thought it would be. My sister got a so called ‘upgrade' and the room was absolutely awful it smelt horribly and the bed was in such poor condition like it hadn't even been cleaned for ages. The carpet had damp stains on it. In my room there was no hand soap to even wash my hands, there was stains on the bedsheets and mattress that was absolutely vile. When I needed sugar for my tea that I got from another shop, there was empty sugar packets it wasn't even restocked. The Wifi does not work at all so I wouldn't go there if it's for work, the TV didn't work either the channels kept saying this service is not available so we had no TV to watch. The lobby is ok, seems to hide the true reality of the way the rooms look. The housekeeping were very rude, almost felt intruding, not one of the members of staff there were hospitable or greeted you in a nice manner, as if they are forced to work there. I do not recommend at all.

"Great"
Brandon L, 17 Août 2026

Location was good. Staff was very welcoming and helpful (Flora the receptionist) Room was clean air con worked bed was really comfy Good value for money imo

"Filthy windows and no air con"
Navigate07397230621, 09 Août 2026

Our hotel room windows were filthy and covered in bird muck. We're on the ground floor! The remote control did not work and no air con on one of the hottest days of the year! Uneven flooring, which we kept tripping over. Not worth £10 much less £100 per night.

"DO NOT STAY HERE"
Daniel h, 03 Août 2026

PLEASE READ THIS*** DO NOT STAY HERE. this hotel give a random couple MY room key whilst I was in the room naked! They walked in on me, an invasion of my privacy and they want to offer me NO refund? Disgusting.

"We would not return"
Londonsays, 03 Août 2026

The hotel is clean and in a great location with parking on site (we paid about £20 for 24 hours). We had breakfast included and was informed breakfast was until 10.30am. We arrived around 10am and was told breakfast had ended. Someone else was also told the wrong time. No food was left, orange juice and water was warm, coffee machine broken and when we asked for tea it was given to us in paper cups. Breakfast was unacceptable! Beds are not comfortable and really bad pillows.

"Dirty carpets and uncomfortable beds.... but the staff were good"
WELLTRAVELED29, 03 Août 2026

The hotel reception and bar area looks quite okay. After that it was unfortunately downhill. The carpets in the hotel hallway and our room were so dirty they need replacing not just cleaning. The elevator was not working our entire stay so I had to haul a heavy case up and down stairs. The bedroom was very basic which wasnt really an issue but the bed was so uncomfortable I actually had a pain in my back from sleeping on it. Bathroom again basic, shower over the bath and a toilet ensuite. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was cleaned daily, fresh towels and the bed made up. The aircon was great considering how hot it was this weekend in London.

"Disappointing"
Ruth P, 02 Août 2026

We booked an Executive Double Room for 1 night after a trip to Wembley Stadium. We were very disappointed with the overall standard of the hotel and room. On our way into the hotel we noticed how dirty the windows were, and did not give a good first impression. On our way up to our room, which as poorly signposted, we noticed lots of holes in the walls, filled in with filler. The lifts were also out of order during our stay. When we got to our room, we were again disappointed with the quality, having paid over £180 for 1 night. The bathroom didn't look clean. The shower head had mildew on it, there was a brown ring mark on the sink and the toilet didn't flush properly. The bed only had 2 thin pillows for 2 people, and there were no others in the room. There were also no tea/coffee making facilities. We found a tray with teabags and coffee sachets but no kettle anywhere. The window of our room had a view of mostly cables and wires, with lots of rubbish visible. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay, and will not be looking to stay here again, next time we visit Wembley. The only positive to our stay was the location to tube stops and overground stations.

"Comfy stay"
Eloy P, 27 Juillet 2026

Good location, nice atmosphere, very kind staff, nice rooms. Great value for money

"Avoid if possible"
Suz5j, 25 Juillet 2026

This place is so bad. We stayed in a suite very old furniture with watermarks and burn marks. Bath huge crack on the outside. Brown marks in toilet, taps terrible scale on the top. Only hand & body wash available. Who painted the ceiling ? Do they need to visit Specsavers !?! Terrible Two chairs both arms very much used !!. Carpet definitely needs replacing! Remember this is a suite, so meant to be one of the best rooms! …… no milk for the tea/coffee facilities. No bottles of water in the room. Bedding was clean but only two very small pillows. Which were the foam hard type ….. Now for breakfast. Just one thing to say DONT HAVE BREAKFAST THERE ! I have never ever had such a poor experience. They just can't cope. Took ages to be seated. Then there are dirty plates cups cutlery all piled up wherever the staff can find a space….such a messy place ! Foods dire. Everything was running out or ran out and cold. They have small lights under the buffet serving dishes, two had gone out I'm not a lover of cold scrambled eggs. No plates because they didn't clear the tables. Nothing was organised, (I have a nut allergy). Serving spoons and bowls seem to be used for everything hence didn't have any cereal far too near for my liking. So so bad. I've never ever seen such chaos or Lack of food at a buffet breakfast. No direction for staff all just running around round like headless chickens. Even the toast was soggy after two attempts of using the machine. Orange juice is not the best either. We did mention to reception but she wasn't interested ! Definitely wouldn't recommend

"Great experience and stay."
H K, 22 Juillet 2026

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel is in a good location if you're wanting to travel to Wembley stadium or want to catch the underground to visit central London. We were welcomed by Toloo and she was very helpful. Great parking spaces and we were also able to have early check in. The room itself was spacious and clean, including the bathroom. Lots of amenities around the hotel and there's spots to eat close by. Great atmosphere and the location is not noisy. Good value for money.

"Perfect for Wembley Concert"
Jaskirat K, 22 Juillet 2026

I stayed two nights here for various concerts at Wembley stadium. It's only 30 minutes away but the location is great because you can get an affordable stay with parking and it's not far away on the tube. The staff are so friendly especially Toloo they provided us with great advice. The hotel let us have an early check in, so it is worth asking if you arrive early. This is a place that I will recommend to my friends and family. The room is spacious and clean and the restaurant and bar is nice.

"Disappointing"
194SuzanneC, 19 Juillet 2026

Very disappointing stay. Our room was in the basement and so dark. Lift was not working, damp smell in the corridor leading up to the room, despite a dehumidifier. No proper curtains just net curtains and the view from the window was a swimming pool with mould on the outside of the pool. No kettle, or tea and coffee facilities, no shower gel, shampoo or hairdryer. After visiting reception and being told they would get house keeping to bring kettle and tea/coffee, after 45 minutes nothing turned up. I went back to reception and said how unhappy I was with the room and lack of the basics for a supposedly 4 star hotel. I was given 2 coffees and shower gel/shampoo/toothbrush to take back to our room. We paid nearly £200 for 1 night which was for my birthday. We were very upset and disappointed.

"Overall nice hotel but has some maintenance issues"
Rebecca W, 13 Juillet 2026

Check in was quick and easy. The room was spacious and the bed was clean and comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities but we had not been left any coffee. When we asked at the front desk for some we were presented with a blank face and said they only have decaf in the whole hotel! The bathroom was slightly disappointing- the bath was very tall to get into, and the shower curtain was past its best and incredibly long- you could not put it in the bath whilst showering as it was so long it filled the bath where you stand (slipping hazard), but placing outside the bath flooded the bathroom! The shower only had one setting- SCALDING HOT! There was no cold water in the shower and the cold water at the basin was very low pressure. Breakfast was good, but there were always very long lines for the coffee machines and there seemed to be a lack of staff. Overall not a bad stay, but having stayed twice previously I was disappointed by its apparent decline. Location is a little out of central London, but great for buses and the Thameslink.

"Worth a stay!"
Guide29658124239, 07 Juillet 2026

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the reception area was also spotless and well presented. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming. The breakfast was good value for money, with a good selection. The only downside was getting to our room. There were no lifts, and we had to use the old fire exit stairs to reach it. The layout was quite confusing, and the signage wasn't very clear, so it took us a while to find our way each day.

"There are better places to stay"
heswanson, 05 Juillet 2026

Do not believe the pictures, this is a run down, tired, dirty hotel. I had to move to three rooms to escape the dark musty smell in one, the black mold eating the wall in a second—- I was here as a chaperone for a HS trip and was very disappointed. I had intended to stay an extra night but it was so bad, p Elevator out of service, pool out of service, no laundry service

"Big Duke at the Crown"
ArtCorbett, 02 Juillet 2026

After a few months away working in Sweden i have returned to this wonderful hotel, which is going through a lot of refurb upgrade works. They have a wonderful new games room with Darts,Pool,Pinball and Big Duke the Elephant standing guard outside.Staff are all still as wonderful and forever helping people and Nishkarsh the manager cannot do enough to help people enjoy their stay.

"Hotel"
Ana T, 02 Juillet 2026

Toloo is helpful Hotel is beautiful

"Good stay"
Paula D, 11 Juin 2026

The staff is friendly and the food is good. Some rooms are cleaner than others. We saw some stains on curtains and the carpet. One of my students rooms had some bugs, but that could be due to the windows that could be opened. Overall, decent stay, but could be improved.

"Poor room"
Navigate09558287229, 02 Juin 2026

Room disappointingly no coffee making facilities no kettle etc having arrived late also no toilet paper or shampoo these are requirements for a 3 star never mind crown hotel.

"The Staff are incredibly welcoming and always so nice"
Alfie S, 01 Juin 2026

I stay here every time I come to London, incredibly good hotel, always very clean and modern and has everything anyone could need. The location is brilliant, so close to many shops and food spots and the restaurant itself is always good food. The staff are fantastic, I always seem to run into Nishkarsh and he is so welcoming and nice, I was greeted today by Toloo who was also very welcoming and smiley. Couldn't ask for better hospitality.

"Awful"
P7885AKjamied, 24 Mai 2026

Awful. Staff are terrible. The person that checked me in really should t be in a customer service role. See pic as it says it all 🤣

"Amazing service, however a few hiccups"
Murray M, 17 Mai 2026

Brilliant service, however bathtub would not fill up. I think it is standard to have a safe in the hotel room.

"A great place to stay, lovely rooms, absolutely fantastic reception staff with a special mention room to Florame!!"
Monika P, 14 Mai 2026

A fantastic experience at The Crown in Cricklewood!!! The staff were all lovely with a special mention to the wonderfully kind and compassionate lady at reception Florame who went out of her way in many ways and helped me find a room last minute after a bad experience elsewhere, a 10/10 to her!! The room was lovely and quiet, and the stunning hotel lobby had a look of old world charm. The restaurant attached was also delicious. I look forward to coming back one day again!

"Good customer service skills and people skill"
Travel22869689900, 06 Mai 2026

Amber was incredible she help us move rooms after see hearing the noise was experiencing and move our room Immediately after seeing the room. Amber was very pleasant and had great customer service skill

"Need to update bathroom"
Curiosity08526749219, 27 Avril 2026

Hotel and staff were very nice however the room was not upto standard worn carpets and bathroom was dangerous an accident waiting to happen we stayed in room 264 no handles on bath it was much higher than a normal bath. Towels were on rack on wall ok if your 6.5 foot had to kneel on toilet just to get the towels. I did report it. Also the only light in the room was from the bathroom which had clear glass door they put a blind on the door but light came through all night

"We have been here several times and will come back"
Elli L, 19 Avril 2026

"Good comfy stay"
arpit j, 21 Mars 2026

I had a pretty amazing stay - the property is quite comfortable and the staff is quite helpful. The try to make you feel comfortable and genuinely care for you. I would also like to give a special shout out to a lovely lady named Julie for helping us during the stay :)

"Celebration Event"
maryfJ7419BK, 15 Mars 2026

We had a celebration event in the Sala Room in February. The venue is special and it was beautifully configured. The staff were very welcoming and competent. The food was very good. Our guests were very complimentary Highly recommend.

"Horrible"
Kelly R, 06 Mars 2026

We've been here a few times over the last year for family events and also dropped into the pub, and it's been consistently disappointing. The front entrance gives a decent first impression, but the moment you're inside it feels quite neglected. One lift has been out of order for months and the downstairs area outside the function room had dust and cobwebs around the place — not just a bit of mess, but the kind of dirt that builds up when a corner is ignored for ages. The hall itself is nice enough from a distance, but you only have to look closely at the walls and edges to see how worn it is. At the Christmas event the food was mediocre and the service was painfully slow — we waited close to an hour between starter and main. Coffee was awful (tasted like instant) and, no exaggeration, the cutlery at our table was rusted. That shouldn't happen anywhere. We then tried the pub on a few occasions thinking maybe it was just an “event day” problem, but it wasn't. Not much choice of drinks, and the food quality was poor: cold pie in the middle, no seasoning, and the lasagne and pizza tasted like frozen food. Charging £16.50 for that pizza (probably from Iceland next door) is hard to justify. On one visit they couldn't even bring the table's meals out together — two friends were left waiting while the rest of us ate for a good 10–15 minutes. The frustrating part is the staff themselves were lovely. The asian barmaid was fantastic and the tall manager was charming and did his best to smooth things over. But the place needs real attention: cleaning, basic maintenance, and a serious look at the food and service standards.

"Great stay"

"The crown hotel"
mihaella90, 01 Mars 2026

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spotless, beautifully arranged and very comfortable. Everything felt clean, fresh and well maintained. What truly made the experience special was the staff. They were extremely polite, attentive and professional, always ready to help with a smile. You can really feel when people care about what they do, and here the service was exceptional. I would like to especially thank Florame from reception. She was absolutely wonderful and very helpful through our stay The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I would definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and quality service.

"Fab stay"
Colin F, 28 Février 2026

Florame and Julie were amazing

"Okay"
Holly Rachelle D, 22 Février 2026

Staff at check-in were friendly, although not much information was provided about the hotel or the room. When we arrived, we found we had been given a family room instead of the executive room I had booked. At first this wasn't a major concern, especially as we were only staying for one night and planned to spend most of our time out exploring the surrounding area. There were, however, a few maintenance issues that caused some inconvenience. The room was very cold, and the air conditioning/heating unit was broken and had fallen off the wall. We were later able to use another unit, which helped. In the bathroom, the shower head was loose and came apart during use, spraying water everywhere. We managed to fix it ourselves, but the bath tap was also faulty and difficult to turn off. During the night, the fire alarm went off at around 1:00am for about 10 minutes, then continued going on and off until roughly 2:30am, and was triggered again at around 4:00am, which did disrupt our sleep. Overall, we wouldn't say the stay was extremely disappointing given that we were only there for one night and spent very little time in the hotel. These were simply a few issues that were inconvenient during our stay, and worth noting for improvement.

"A great place to stay"
Jack L, 18 Janvier 2026

An amazing experience! The Crown is a lovely hotel. With large, functional rooms. I have stayed here before, I enjoyed it so much, this time I've brought mother along. As on my previous stay, the staff is what makes this hotel stand out. The staff are not simply professional; they go way beyond their duty to make sure my stay is as enjoyable as possible. They are extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating. I'd especially like to mention Toloo, Florame and Larissa by name. They are all super, super nice. They are a large part of the reason why I stay at The Crown again and again. Would definitely recommend The Crown Cricklewood to friends and family.

"Good enough"
Tina Y, 11 Janvier 2026

The hotel is a blend of an "old side" and a "new side" as you can see from the pictures. I'm not sure if there are rooms on the "new side" but ours was in the "old side" and barely bigger than the beds. The hallways on that side had heavy doors and it was kind of hard to find your way around. The room was clean, and the bathroom was spacious, we just wish there had been more space to walk around the beds and put luggage. If you only have a small bag for a few days, that would be ideal. The mattresses were average comfort level, not bad but nothing to write home about either, just normal. The location is probably close to public transportation, but we didn't utilize anything except Ubers on this trip. The tiny car parking area in front of the hotel worked well for drivers to swing in and pick us up or drop us off. One day we walked to a nearby cafe for lunch but after that we decided the neighborhood probably wasn't the best for walking. The hotel can't help that the surrounding neighborhood is kind of dirty and the street is pretty high traffic. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of hot and cold options plus coffee machines. It's located up an old wooden, spiral staircase (beautiful) from the main restaurant. I'm not sure there's much accessibility for people with mobility issues. We ate dinner at the hotel pub each night of our stay just for convenience. Service there is an adjustment from America. Sometimes it was better to ask the employee(s) if they wanted us to just order at the bar cuz we felt unsure anyone would come to our table to greet us. We were there in winter and it felt like the pub had no insulation. They had space heaters under/next to every couple of tables and the last night we were there many didn't seem to be working. The food was good though and ample portions for the price.

Owner Response, 11 Janvier 2026

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and balanced review of your stay with us. We appreciate your honest observations about the differences between the older and newer parts of the building. As a historic property, some rooms—particularly in the original section—do vary in size and layout, and your comments regarding space for luggage and ease of navigation are noted and helpful for future planning and guest guidance. I'm pleased to hear that you found the room clean, the bathroom spacious, and the breakfast buffet very good. It's also lovely to know you enjoyed the character of the wooden spiral staircase and found the food in our pub good value with generous portions. Thank you as well for your candid feedback regarding the pub service style and temperature during winter. We understand that service expectations can differ, and your comments have been shared with the team to help improve clarity, comfort, and consistency—particularly during colder periods. We also appreciate your understanding regarding factors beyond our control, such as the surrounding area and traffic, while noting the convenience of transport access and the drop-off space at the front of the hotel. Your feedback is genuinely valuable to us, as it highlights both what we're doing well and where we can continue to improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide an even better experience. Kind regards, Nishkarsh Rajoriya Hotel Manager Crown Hotel, Cricklewood, London

"Travel Report - The Crown London"
Khaleel A, 01 Janvier 2026

Travel Report: Potential with Room for Improvement As family travellers with two children, we explore London passionately and share our honest impressions to help fellow travellers while encouraging hotels to improve. Our stay at The Crown London Hotel from 29 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 was marred by some challenges, which we describe diplomatically in hopes of constructive feedback and a gesture of goodwill from the team. Check-in and First Impression Upon check-in, we noticed a strong cigarette smell in the bathroom, which the housekeeping team promptly resolved – demonstrating professionalism and quick response. The location near Cricklewood Station made our city outings convenient, ideal for families with children. Room Temperature Issues Despite the air conditioning/heating running all night, the room remained uncomfortably cold (below 19°C) for all three nights, leading to health issues like sore throats for my wife and son. Multiple reports to reception brought a small heater after about an hour on the third day, but it failed to adequately warm the space for four people; a permanent fix or room change would have greatly enhanced comfort. Cleaning and Service Daily room cleaning was limited to towel changes and bin emptying, with no thorough tidying, which was disappointing in a family-friendly hotel. The reception staff were friendly and tried to assist, but more consistent maintenance would elevate the experience. Overall, the hotel offers a solid base with its location, but improvements in heating and cleaning are needed. We look forward to your response or compensation to enable positive recommendations for future family trips.

"Where do I begin?"
Mercman111, 01 Décembre 2025

Our initial room had dirty towels strewn on the floor, and the bed had not been made. We were immediately allotted another room. After going out for a few hours we returned at about 7.30 pm to find both the restaurant and bar were closed for the evening. Dirty glasses and an abandoned breakfast tray were left in the corridor, they were there when we arrived and were still there the following morning. The breakfast offering was dire, the plates were cold and the ‘hot breakfast' was barely tepid. The breakfast room was also cold, there were industrial portable heaters at various points in the breakfast room but none of them appeared to be working. I have stayed at the Crown previously and have had no issues, the experience on this occasion was vastly different, and not in a good way. I can only assume that there has been a change of management. If this is the case, said management need to up their game. .

"Nice but needs TLC"
cbeeu, 22 Novembre 2025

Mixed. We arrived and found the car park which was beneath the building. Plenty of space. You get to it via a locked gate which opens by pushing the button located to the right of the gates. You get to the reception via the lifts in the car park. From the street there is a revolving door allowing entrance to the hotel. Staff were helpful. The room was nice and comfortable and we slept well. In the bathroom the hand rail on the wall of the bath is very loose an needs replacing or tightening. Everything was clean but flooring looked old. On the first day breakfast was nice but not too warm but the staff member heated it in the microwave. On the second morning it was really nice and hot. On the first day, even though we had asked for gluten free breakfast options in advance, no gluten free bread was available. However, the second morning it was and bread was brought to our table. Some of the arms of the soft chairs at the breakfast tables were coming apart. It seemed they were short staffed. This could be so much better with a little more effort. We enjoyed our stay and it was very convenient and a good price. Parking was cheap and very handy.

"Do Not Stay At The Crown"
martin w, 21 Novembre 2025

1 out of 5 — only because TripAdvisor won't let me give zero. If you're thinking of staying at The Crown Hotel, do yourself a favour: don't. Run. Flee. Fake your own disappearance if you must. I spent three months there with a group of up to fifteen colleagues, and by the end we were all questioning our life choices, our sanity, and whether we'd accidentally wandered onto a hidden-camera show. At first glance, the hotel looks lovely — the kind of place that makes you think, “Ah, this will be nice.” Look closer. No, closer. Closer. That's when the cracks appear… quite literally. Cleanliness: or whatever the opposite is. Trays of dirty dishes decorated the corridors like modern art installations. They sat there so long that we started giving them names. Some of them celebrated birthdays. Sections of the hotel clearly hadn't seen a mop, cloth or hoover since the Queen's coronation. Not the recent one. The other one. Even the rooms had their own special charm: TVs that didn't work, lights that flickered like we were in a horror film, and internet so slow I'm convinced it was powered by a hamster with commitment issues. Breakfast was another adventure. We had to leave for work at 6:15am. Breakfast opened at 6am. In theory. Some mornings were fine — decent food and actual staff. Other mornings? Nothing. Late opening, cold food, no staff in sight. It was like playing “Will There Be Breakfast?” every single day. Evening meals were an endurance test. After a 12-hour shift all we wanted was a meal. Instead, we faced service so slow we started ageing at the table. One night we waited three hours — long enough for us to wonder if they were foraging for ingredients. Other nights the staff were so rude that walking out felt like the polite option. Here's the funniest part: every time we complained, the next night was brilliant. One night only. Then straight back to chaos. It was like the hotel had a “pretend to be professional” button that needed a long cooldown. Eventually, after everyone had complained and nothing really changed, we did the sensible thing and left. We moved to accommodation that actually understood hospitality — like cleaning rooms, serving food on time, and speaking to guests without snarling. Final verdict: save yourself the stress, the disappointment, and the emotional trauma. I would strongly recommend that you do not stay here. I'm giving it 1 star only because I can't give zero. If negative stars existed, I'd need a calculator.

"If you must."
peter s, 04 Novembre 2025

Cleanish, staff helpful ( when there), One lift out of order ( according to one staff member the other out if order for a about a year). The working lift broke down and then to use the stairs to get up and down it had really bad to non existent signage. Room had no ventilation, and the air conditioning was hit and miss. There is a pool but no information was given or offered by the reception. The breakfast was of usual English/ Continental standard, but eat early. Or you will have a long wait 😟. Breakfast coffee machine was not working for 3 days 😡. The adjoining "Crown Grill" pub was not busy ,but noisy with music. The food offered was......... The staff friendly but some very inexperienced. The dining room between the hotel and the pub was cold and had absolutely no atmosphere.

"Wedding!!!"
KCMC91, 30 Octobre 2025

I had a lovely experience. Andrei is phenomenal. He absolutely made my wedding. His attentiveness and knowledge was fantastic, which made our day go so well. Everyone worries about how wedding food will taste, but every guest gave me rave reviews. They adored the chicken, it was full of flavour and juicy and they loved the dauphinoise potatoes, applause for our Chef and assistants!! If you hire a DJ with The Clayton, make sure to ask for Jason, he is so good and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend having your wedding at The Clayton. We chose the historic Sala room, it only takes about 100 guest, but it met our needs and just fitted so well with our vision. They do have a bigger event space. There are only 2 issues I had when at Clayton. They were not part of my event, but part of my stay in the Junior Suite. Firstly, the water did not get hot in shower or bath, despite me telling reception. Secondly, I had late check out, the housekeeper came into our room, without knocking, before checkout. I also recommend that the hotel gets some garment steamers for would-be brides. It is a must for the wedding dress process. When it comes out of the box, it needs steaming. I had my own, but it broke. The hotel, unfortunately did not have one for me to borrow. Leaving on a positive not... All the staff were so polite, positive, welcoming and supportive.

"Very average stay"
Duana B, 28 Octobre 2025

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I honestly don't understand how this hotel is rated 4 stars — it really shouldn't be. The place feels very outdated and in need of some attention. The room itself was disappointing: the wardrobe doors didn't close properly, the hand soap dispenser had come off the wall, and there was no shampoo or shower gel provided in the bathroom. Cleanliness wasn't up to standard either, and there were only two pillows on the bed, which made it quite uncomfortable. The TV didn't have WiFi or any streaming options, so you could only watch basic channels — which feels very outdated for a “4-star” stay. To make things worse, there was some kind of disturbance outside my door between 2am and 3:30am, which woke me up and made it hard to get back to sleep. The only positive was the food — it was decent and probably the best part of the stay and wasn't expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, though, I expected much more for a 4-star hotel

"Excellent Hotel"

"Selling cheap pizza from Iceland and charging 16.50"
Jerryscarlet, 12 Octobre 2025

The food we had here tonite was absolutely shocking!! We ordered a pizza costing 16.50 but the pizza was 16.50 and it was a chicago town pizza that u buy in Iceland/Tesco was in shock. The bar man tryed to deny this but it was he said they buy the base in for such a lovely place I'll never go a near it again. Also the toilets were so ran down it's such a shame. From Ireland

"If you like mould this is the hotel for you"
cranium234, 28 Septembre 2025

Not the best hotel, took awhile to check in only one elevator working which was very slow. The car park is small and full. The room is unclean with black mould everywhere the breakfast was average had to ask for cups and mugs because it ran out and not restocked lacking basic standards.

"Okay for over night"
Liv M, 07 Septembre 2025

staff were lovely, rooms could of been cleaner if I'm honest. bathroom needs doing up & shower temp was awful. fine for one night but would stay somewhere else next time

"Not near any attractions "
206elspetha, 19 Août 2025

Bar man very grumpy for no reason dirty dishes lying outside rooms for 2 days at least even though room cleaners on landing. 2 lifts 1 was turned off other was not working properly. Rooms ok but not a 4 star hotel

"Needs TLC"
MSManc, 10 Août 2025

Property is tired and it looks as though they are updating some areas. Some parts such as the corridor from the car park to the scruffy lift is a disgrace. The lobby is actually quite pleasant but pass through there to a very tired dining room for breakfast. I have read poor reviews but it was actually OK . Price for a room although still not cheap is a much lower than other properties. Cricklewood is hardly the most salubrious part of London either. It suited us as it was a bed for the night as we were visiting family and spent little time in the hotel. Staff at the desk and breakfast were pleasant .

"We believe that a hotel known for excellent service should also extend this excellence to guest care"
RamiJordan2020, 20 Juillet 2025

I have made a booking for my client at your esteemed hotel, known for its excellent service. Unfortunately, after we completed the booking and payment, the guest's flight was cancelled. We attempted to reach the agent to cancel the booking, but received no response. As a result, we contacted the hotel directly and sent an email with supporting documents as proof that this situation qualifies as force majeure. However, the request for a refund was rejected. As this situation is completely beyond our control and directly affects the guest's ability to travel. the hotel has continued to reject our request We believe that a hotel known for excellent service should also extend this excellence to guest care in unexpected and uncontrollable situations like this. As the matter is entirely beyond our control and directly affects the guest's ability to travel,

"DISGUSTING, ROTTEN and poor customer service"
Anna O, 12 Juillet 2025

DISGUSTING… room 463 !! we stay at the crown quite often as it's local to family, but the standards have dramatically dropped. The room was a dirt pit, absolute rotten filth!! Not only was our room filthy so was the corridors and obviously not been hoovered in a long time and smells. The mattress was absolutely disgusting and stains all over the floor, the bath had loads of hair and dirt, the curtains don't cover the window, and half broken, the air con covered in dust and right above your head in the bed, the ceilings have odd paint spots everywhere and was so upset and sad as we couldn't sleep properly knowing the mattes was rotten and the receptionist didn't get back to us!! I recieved a call is my room okay and I explained it's filthy and she said I'll call you back and never did, I spoke to them again at reception who are pleasant but basically ignored me, on leaving she said we could maybe request an upgrade on our next stay which to be honest with the poor service and state of the room I would never return, in absolute shock how awful the place has got very sad to see especially as a regular customer for 30 years. I will not be recommending family and friends to stay here anymore.

"Terrible Service, they don't reply to email."
Roving775231, 09 Juillet 2025

I have had a terrible experience to get any help, and we haven't had our stay yet. With mobility issues, we wanted to change hotels as walking is an issue and this location is not convenient for our needs. In short, they told us to look into transit! I'm not looking forward to even entering this place. Terrible service so far and will add after we actually stay.

"BED BUGS"
Lisa V, 30 Juin 2025

This hotel has bed bugs. The hotel is owned and manned in a location with a culture that accepts bed bugs as the norm so they will ignore your objection. We did eventually get settled in an uninfested room about 1:30 am (3 hours later) after much negotiation. Do not stay here or in this general location in London.

"You really dont want a ground floor room"
TheBigMan58, 22 Juin 2025

We booked this room last July to attend a gig at Wembley through booking.com, during booking I requested a room on a high floor, on arrival receptionist was very pleasant , and offered us a 10% discount on drinks and food from bar, she explained about breakfast, gave us our keys, and that is where it all went south, our "standard double" room, was on the ground floor, had a very stale smell, with stale furniture, and only one window, which was frosted and in the bathroom, and if that was not bad enough , it was directly facing MacDonalds, and all the delivery drivers congregated outside to chat and smoke, my partner was adamant she was not using bathroom and went off to reception to see if we could be moved, to be fair after a bit haggling, they moved us to a family room with one double and a single bed in room on the 4th floor, much better , it had a window you could look out , and no one could look in . . The " double" bed in room was tiny, and the springs in mattress played a different noise when you got on or off the bed, WiFi was hit and miss, you register then it kicks you out , and drops out continuously , there was a bath in room , however no taps to turn it on , so it was a shower, however sides of bath are so high , it was scary getting in or out, water pressure pretty good though. There are two lifts, but only one works, and I mean when it wants to, lift door only half opens, and every time we got in on fourth floor, it takes 4 or 5 times of pressing down button before it actually took us down . Now for the positives , this hotel has some really good points, every member of staff we dealt with were pleasant , the bar area really nice , has a pool table and seating outside and round front of hotel, prices reasonable I guess, under £11 for pint of Lager and pint of cider, the buffet breakfast , was hot, and plenty for everyone , however on first morning the tea /coffee ran out , as did milk , but sorted quickly by staff, air conditioning was good , we visited on hottest day of year, and our room was cool getting back after visit to Wembley...30 minutes into Marble Arch by bus right outside hotel, 12 minutes to St Pancras by train , every fast food outlet you could want around the hotel , summary , Best Western should spend some decent money on this hotel , it deserves it.

"A calm oasis"
Dips_Gr, 18 Juin 2025

As soon as we walked into the Crown London it felt like a calm oasis away from the busy London streets. The staff were friendly and helpful. We used one of the meeting rooms was fully equipped and included notepads and pens which were really helpful. The rooms were a good size and clean. Will definitely be back.

"Missing item, no response, and false claims – unprofessional and unacceptable"
Tony M, 18 Juin 2025

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. And now the hotel is also lying in their public response, claiming they replied to my email. That is simply false. I never received any reply, not even a basic acknowledgment. When I checked in, the first room had a broken window. The handle was hanging loose and the window could not be closed. I had to ask for a different room immediately. The second room did not have broken windows, but it was very noisy and made it hard to sleep. On the morning of May 23rd, I left my headphones on the desk before leaving the room. When I came back, the room had been cleaned and the headphones were gone. I mentioned this at checkout and later sent a detailed email with the invoice attached. Nobody ever replied to me. Yet in their public response, the hotel claims they investigated and sent me a message. That never happened. If they are willing to misrepresent something as simple as this, I honestly do not trust them on anything else either. Broken rooms, missing items, no accountability and then lying about it afterwards. Absolutely unacceptable. I would not stay here again under any circumstances.

"Unacceptable and Disrespectful Behavior from Receptionist Denisa"
Alex Q, 09 Juin 2025

I am writing to share my disappointment regarding the behavior of a front desk staff member, Denisa, during our check-in on Friday, the 16th, at this hotel. When we presented our Italian passports at reception, Denisa immediately began speaking to us in Italian. As we did not respond in that language, her attitude quickly changed. She appeared confused and even questioned why we held Italian passports if we didn't speak Italian, making inappropriate and unprofessional remarks about the “power” of Italian citizenship. This behavior made us feel judged, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. It felt discriminatory and completely unacceptable in what should be a professional, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment—especially in the hospitality industry. We chose this hotel expecting a warm and courteous welcome, but instead, we were left with an unsettling experience that no guest should have to face. I truly hope the hotel management addresses this issue seriously to ensure that no other guests are treated this way in the future. Sadly, this incident left a very negative impression, and I sincerely hope not to encounter such disrespect again

"Nice hotel in North London"
Damien L, 04 Juin 2025

Great hotel. Just off the bottom of the M1. Had work in Westfield Stratford and got there in 45 mins via the mainline station just around the corner. Has secure parking. Clean comfortable air conditioned rooms with comfy beds and great linen. Always look forward to the breakfast. Perfectly cooked to order poached eggs, nice bacon and sausage. Good range of continental as well. Even do nice vegetarian sausages if you want. Great breakfast service from Sweta and the team. Looking forward to my return.

"Disappointing Stay – Not Suitable for Business Travel"
mrsimon08, 09 Mai 2025

I recently stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights during a business trip, as I have many upcoming visits to London and was hoping to find a reliable, comfortable place to stay regularly. Unfortunately, this property fell far below expectations and I will not be returning. While the room was relatively clean, it was extremely outdated – with visible stains on the carpet and shower curtain, giving an overall neglected impression. The soundproofing was non-existent; I could clearly hear someone snoring in the adjacent room and people walking in the hallway, which made getting a good night's sleep nearly impossible. The front desk staff were generally unpleasant and unwelcoming, although I want to acknowledge that a few of the restaurant staff were friendly and professional – a small bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. The most frustrating and frankly unacceptable moment came on the morning of my departure. I had placed a “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door as I was on a very important business call. Despite this, at 9:50 AM, a housekeeper began loudly knocking and shouting “housekeeping” repeatedly. Even with noise-cancelling headphones on, the disturbance was so loud and persistent that I had to interrupt my call. When I opened the door, the housekeeper argued with me that it was checkout time – which, as far as I am aware, is 11:00 AM. When I pointed this out, she rudely responded “fine” and walked off without any apology or acknowledgment. I was genuinely shocked by this behavior. I am well aware this is not a luxury hotel, but these are basic standards of professionalism and hospitality that any guest should be able to expect. Sadly, this hotel fails on multiple fronts and is not fit for business travelers – or any travelers – looking for a peaceful and respectful environment. I do not recommend this hotel and am very disappointed with the experience.

"Horriable hotel"
Andrew M, 07 Mai 2025

I would not stay here again or advise anyone to stay here. The bedrooms are dirty. Carpets look like never cleaned. Walls and doors dirty and mouldy. Bathroom gruby. Staff to busy talking to oneanother and drinking costa coffee. Food from bar cold. Bar counter sticky from drink spilled and not cleaned up. Dusty all around. Buttons on lifts broke so you have to guess .delivery person said lift broke 3 years. Cleaners using dirty water to mop floors in reception. Duty manger said he would not stay here or let family stay here in the rooms
