Best Western Capistrano Inn

The staff here is amazing. We arrived and the check-in was smooth. We got to the room and the room smelled of marijuana and the cleaning staff was nearby and came over immediately to investigate the smell and they radioed the front and by the time I got back up to the front, the front office staff already had a new room for me. The room itself was clean but showed a lot of age, such as broken tiles, raised tiles, and baseboards needing repair. Also, the oddest thing was that the room was slanted due to the location on the property. However, I will stay here again because of the staff, and the cheesy omelets available at breakfast were delicious. The hotel was a little challenging to get into because of the traffic.

Very disappointed….the room was $150.00 for one person for the night…I could tell by the lobby etc that this was not going to be great but when your on the road with friends traveling (seniors also) you just want to get settled and get to dinner before nightfall…. The room itself was blah but no time to look elsewhere…when you finally get around to unpacking you start to see what's wrong….the first thing I noticed was the door didn't seem to shut all the way and I couldn't lock it…I should have changed rooms right then and there…the next thing was no hot water in the sink… just no hot water coming out at all…not an emergency so I let it go… the next thing was a massive recliner that I couldn't move to watch TV….so go to bed when all else fails…no night light anywhere and the light to the bathroom had a fan attached that was so loud you didn't want that on…then get into bed (hard as a rock) and I could feel the wind and rain coming into the room because the door didn't close all the way ….I was scared to death all night long…glad it was only 1 night.

The chair smelled like urine. The water would not get hot. The breakfast was dull, limited and the same each day. The lighting was obtrusive and also dim at points. No place to plug in computer, etc. at desk.

I shopped around for hotels in the area and this was by far the best value. Staff was extremely helpful, fresh, hot breakfast was amazing. Walking distance to San Juan Capistrano Mission, shops, dining....so convenient.

1) At checkin: Add $10 to the advertised price for parking, and $50 deposit. after 10:00, front door is locked and stand outside in freezing weather while one talks through the glass. Front desk lady took longer than most check-ins while I was freezing. 2) At room, heater doesn't work. I would rather keep the room than to walk to front desk to get another key and move my stuff. 3) Next morning, 3a) my wife waved at me through mirror while I was in the bathroom, fortunately it was my wife. 3b) Continental breakfast was with powdered eggs which I spit into trash, and something horrible about the "cream cheese" which I spit out also. I did swallow one bite from the omelet but stopped. I ate a yogurt which was in a sealed container that someone else prepared. 3c) Front desk was clearly not the manager.

Stayed with my wife for one night. Will not stay here again. Unclean (spiders, rust in the tub) and the balcony was an absolute joke - one chair that overlooked a bunch of dumpsters. Internet was weak. And the $10 parking fee was not listed on the BW App. Later found that on the BW website, but since I booked through the App, I was a bit frustrated. . Breakfast was great!

Excellent we had to attend a wedding in San Juan Capistrano and this Best Western Hotel was close to the venue and very nice and reasonable price. Also, it had a nice and clean room with great internet. The wedding was on a Friday and my husband needed to work a bit before the wedding. Great breakfast the next day. Variety of food for breakfast. I recommend this hotel.

We stayed at 2 Best Western Hotels in Irvine and San Juan Capistrano. Both were nice. And had everything we needed. The locations were centrally located for our activities. Restaurants were close by the hotels.

Being a Best Western Plus in a very nice area we expected the rooms to be good, maybe not top notch but good. We were wrong! The carpet was disgusting. Like take a shower and walk on the carpet and the bottoms of your feet are immediately dirty disgusting. Now you might be thinking maybe we got a bad room and the rest were clean. That could be true. But as a Diamond Select Rewards member, one would think we would have gotten one of the better rooms available. So who knows. The shower/toilet room was also horrible. They attempted to paint the shower tiles instead of replacing them, so in areas where the paint was chipping made it seem like mold. The toilet seat wasn't on correctly, so it rocked when you sat down. The door to the bathroom was damaged. All in all, just a really bad room. Thank goodness we used points. I can't imagine if we had paid $200 a night for this place.

Rooms are awful. Dated, poor remodel. Carpet was extremely dirty and stained. Toilet rocked. Extensive paint peeling and mold in bath. Sewage smell at entrance. AC noisy and rattling. Very uncomfortable bed. Stayed in hundreds of hotels over many years as I travel for work and this was the worst room ever. Avoid at all costs.

I paid $300 per night at this sad sad hotel - it is old, smelly, noisy and in desperate need of a renovation. I am appalled that they charge these rates. I wasn't expecting much, but for the price I paid, I wanted to at least be somewhat comfortable. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, and I've stayed in hotels at every level all over the world.

ROOM 110 This place is Haunted. Try to fall asleep but had kids running around laughing that I couldn't see in the room around 2am, two men whispering, glass bottle breaking, and as we left the room the lamp shade began moving on its own. Room and bathroom were clean and well organized. ENJOY YOUR STAY.

We had a two standard bed room. One of the mattresses was in terrible condition. The shower had old mold in the grout and should have either been steamed or the grout replaced. Very disappointed regarding these two items.

This Best Western was in a great location and so close to everything we needed to get to and it's right off I-5. All the staff we interacted with were all so friendly and helpful. Our room was super clean and spacious. The internet was great. And the breakfast--oh, wow, it was wonderful--scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, etc. The pool was nice and there's even a jacuzzi next to it. I would definitely stay here again. It's excellent. :)

This hotel is nice but needs some better treatment and food control: Carpet floor was a bit dirty, and the tile floor were sticky. Breakfast was good except the potatoes (too dry and no flavor) our son got sick due to the potatoes's skin.

As former resident of OC, now relocated out of the area, we chose Best Western San Juan Capistrano for its proximity to a wedding venue we were attending, the beach and somewhat reasonable price. Disappointing is an understatement. Rooms were average, musty odor from AC unit that never did cool the stuffy room. Bathroom door would not close unless you physically lifted the knob to lift the door open or closed. Spill on bathroom tile resulted in a filthy grimy residue on the towel we wiped it up with, GROSS! Thankfully our room was away from the freeway so it was a quiet room suitable for sleeping. Pool area looked nice although we did not use it, and my travel companions said the continental breakfast was adequate.

Terrible odor (like something died and they tried to cover it up with a horrible smelling cleaner) coming from the bathroom of the 1st room we were assigned. It was so bad we had to request a different room. The smell was not as bad as it was in the 1st room, but we had to leave the door open and open all the windows to even be in the room. There was a clump of black hair (I am blond) on the "clean" bathroom hand towels and in the bathroom sink. Gross, but I tried to overlook it since we had already complained about the foul smell. At this point - if we could have afforded to - we would have left and gone to a different hotel. I wish we had, because in the middle of the night there was a violent and frightening domestic fight in the room right next to ours. We honestly expected to hear a gun go off or someone get thrown off the balcony. The front staff were NOT very helpful in the situation and didn't seem to know how to handle it. By the time the police arrived - AT LEAST 30 - 40 minutes later the arguing had stopped because one of them had run off. I spent what was left of the night shaking, expecting the person to return and the fighting to resume. I can honestly say this was the absolute worst hotel experience of our lives.

That's about as much praise as I can give it. It's a 60s style motel and they've tried to make it more appealing, but it's putting lipstick on a pig. They've put in more modern furniture, but it's still a 60s style motel. Asked if they had a corkscrew and they said we'd have to come down and use the only one they had. Not a deal breaker, but emblematic of the place. We live here and were checking it out for future visitors. Will NOT recommend. And you want to get a western facing room otherwise the freeway will keep you up all night.

Wedding day it made it easy to make it to the gardens. Service Dog Friendly. Watch out for the coyotes they are a little scary so try to stay in the light of you must watch walk your dogs late at night.

Based on the 7.8 stars out of 10 on hotel.com, I expected this hotel to be a clean decent Best Western in San Juan Capistrano. The pictures of the rooms and location made it appear good. However, we were disillusioned when we arrived to our room. First of all, you can tell that the hotel needs some renovating to be done, and the worst of it was the ant problem in the hotel. I have never experienced that at a hotel before. I know it had been raining a lot the past week, thus the reason for the ants, but you would think the hotel would be aware and make sure that all rooms have been cleaned and sprayed for ants. Also, there were vagrant people hanging around the hotel as well as it was obvious that the hotel rents rooms out to homeless people. My husband walked by one of the rooms when he was walking our dog, and one of the rooms the door was wide open with people laying on their beds half naked in their underwear and passed out. Not a pretty sight! The only saving thing was the warm complete breakfast the hotel offered. I definitely would not stay here again .

The room was extremely noisy, the lady at the front desk could've been a little more friendly, and as many have stated you do have to pay $15 per day for parking. This hotel is borderline motel 6 charging Holliday inn prices.

Located just minutes away from downtown (easily walking distance), clean, with a helpful and friendly staff. Fantastic value for all of the above. Will definitely be staying here again next time I am in the area.

I don't write reviews often, but there are enough issues with this place that I feel should be known. On a positive note, the staff were friendly. But there were several negatives: 1) the floors in the rooms were absolutely filthy--our feet/socks were brown just walking across the floor. Gross. 2) The room layout did not match pictures on the website. It was definitely older/not as nice as the pictures, but that is not completely unexpected because it is a common practice unfortunately. The bigger difference is that the website shows two separate vanity/mirror areas in the room we reserved, but the room had only a single sink and mirror. With four in our party, the extra sink/mirror was part of the reason we picked that room. 3) they have a $15/day parking fee that is not disclosed when you place the reservation. Parking is not even covered, just an outside lot. Feels like gouging. We learned about it only when seeing a handwritten sign on the lobby window when we arrived, which I'm sure they put off to lessen the surprise when they informed you about the fee at check-in.

Very satisfied. Filled all our requirements. Friendly desk, very comfortable bed, good breakfast. There was a $15.00 a day parking fee, but it was waived. Would stay there again as it was close to where we visit.

Check in was OK very nice lady, that's where it ends. Rooms are old and not in good condition. Hot water does not exist. Had to ask for more thread bare towels. Traffic noise, sirens...and difficult getting in and out of property. Property is not kept up, dirty hallways and around ice machine. Housekeeping does not check to see if towels or coffee are needed along with not picking up trash. I reported the little ants in room. Parking on website says free parking but has a $15/day fee. Also, I didn't get my points.

Very expensive for what you get. Staff was not helpful with the parking situation. They charge for parking and you are allowed 1 car. We had another person meeting us there and sharing a room. They couldn't park there. It is definitely listed on their website but you'd have to dig for that information it is not clearly stated and readily visible.

You can hear traffic all night long. Only one way in or out of the property. The are some great places to eat nearby. Las Golondrinads Mexican restaurant is a one of the great places to eat. Hot breakfast at the hotel is not bad. You do have to pay for overnight parking if you are not an elite member.

The jacuzzi was only lukewarm . . . not hot enough to be usable. I reported it the first night. They sent Carlos, the maintenance man. He said he turned the heater on but only the jets started working. It never got hot. The next day it was still only lukewarm and still not usable. This is not up to Best Western standards and not acceptable for the room rate we paid. Disappointing. In our room there was a sewer smell coming up from the drain in the sink. Other than that the room was fine. The front desk staff and maids were friendly & helpful.

Charges $15.00 for parking ( not on booking rate or website. They only clean rooms 3 days a week. Pathetic management and Best Western corporate wont even call you back. Stay here, guaranteed plan on being over charged and be welcomed by all the things they dont do.

The room needs updating, e.g., the molding at the bottom of the bathroom door was cracked and the furnishings were quite old.The counter and sink had been renovated. The bed was comfy and there were plenty of pillows. Although in need of renovation, my room was very clean and the rate extremely reasonable. Driveway is right off the freeway, but very poorly marked. I ended up driving around for 15 minutes trying to find the driveway. A sign at the road is needed.

Classic motor court hotel. Two story, no elevator. If that is a problem, request your downstairs room early. Room had a large "mini" fridge with nice size freezer compartment and a microwave. Large vanity and sink outside of bath/toilet room. Large recliner in the room was really comfortable. Full size fiber pillows - not those kind filled with foam chunks. I had a good, restful sleep. As of May 1, 2022, they now charge $15 per day (night) for parking a single vehicle.

Don't stay here. What's the difference between a motel and an inn? I'm not sure, but this was the worst place I've ever stayed. There were ants all over the shower, “clean” towels, and toilet paper dispenser. The room smelled of mildew and the sink faucet smelled like sewage. The mattress on the bed was the lumpiest I've ever slept on. It was not worth the price. Rent an Airbnb or stay somewhere else. The only thing that was good was the staff at check in and check out was kind.

The Best Western was a solid base hit. It's not going to knock your socks off, but at this price point it was clean and quite. The pool was surprisingly well maintained. The breakfast offering was much better than I expected.

The smell of cigarette smoke was coming into my room through the air vents and from all the rooms next to mine which it was disgusting and because of it wasn't able to sleep well. Also, I noticed ants in the shower tube.

Our rooms were not cleaned unless we called the front desk multiple times to confirm someone was actually going to come by. We were there for 4 nights - the room was cleaned once. Towels etc. weren't stocked well and we constantly had to walk to the front lobby to get more. Not to mention, one of the days, the cleaning staff said to leave our door open because they planned to come in and clean (we were heading out for a wedding). We confirmed *multiple* times if we should leave the door open - they confirmed each time: Yes, leave it open. We left for the wedding at 2:45pm. We returned that evening at 9:30pm to find the door STILL open. The staff never came to clean, nor did they even bother to close the door - and when we left, we left them right *next* to the door. The light in the room was on and the door was wide open. The sheer TERROR we experienced, not knowing if there was someone in our room, if our belongings had been stolen, who had gone in while we were gone... beyond terrifying. We will NEVER stay at this "hotel" again. Ever. Managers response for the situation: "Nothing happened. We can take off $100. That's it." Yeah - n e v e r staying at Western at best, ever again.

Rooms had bugs, smelled of mold, and barely looked clean! There was a dirty rag left on the room upon arrival. Air conditioning and water pressure barely worked. The mold smell was absolutely disgusting throughout the entire visit. Ants and flies in the room. Will not be staying here again.

This hotel is an overpriced dump. My sink was clogged, bathtub drain broken, bathroom fan screeching, air conditioner worked but made loud noises all night long. This is an over priced property that has not been well-maintained.

Rooms were the worst. Tub was not somewhere you would want to take a bath, shower was quick since tub was hard to stand in. Bed frames something I have never seen before. My reservation was for king bed got room with two beds. At check in the person behind desk seemed disinterested and not helpful at all. Had to find room by walking around, she didn't even show me the map of the room location. This place should be torn down and rebuilt or just forget the hotel business. Have traveled extensively for business and wouldn't leave my dog here. This place is depressing!

This is an older hotel with the exterior room doors that open into the parking lot, which is fine, but just so you know. The room was comfortable, and they had a decent selection for breakfast and I had no issues while I stayed here. And the rate I was charged was reasonable for the room. However I did see a sign at the front desk that they were going to start charging a $25/night parking fee for future reservations. I don't see it listed on the Best Western web site, but I do see that one other recent reviewer mentioned that they were charged without knowing about it. This fee would definitely lower the value for the motel. And when I was looking to potentially stay here again in June, the room rates were significantly higher which were then too high for what I felt I got there, so because of that and the parking fees, I started looking for better values in nearby towns.

We've stay here on numerous occasions. Close to everything. Rooms are always clean, check in and out easy. Great location, great food and the mission is nearby. Staff is very courteous and professional.

Rented a two-bedroom room with a friend for overnight getaway. The room was plain but clean. There were scuff marks on the baseboards and the room could use a fresh coat of paint. The balcony only had one chair and no table (it would be nice to have two chairs and a table). The hotel is right next to the fwy but close to everything in the center of town. The breakfast was very good! Hot, fresh scrambled eggs, potatoes, etc.

I don't recall that the advertised room rate online disclosed an additional $25/night parking fee. It's probably buried somewhere as usual in fine print, but be aware that upon check-in that the fee will be disclosed on a handwritten sign posted in their lobby just to mitigate any charges of false advertising.

Check in was super slow and no effort was put in to engage with guests. Room had musty smell, facecloth was stuffed under a/c unit, one bed was super firm and the other was soft. Right off the freeway which is great, but the noise level from the cars was unbearable to sleep. First night, police were pulling a car over at 3am and woke up the kids. A/C unit was very loud along with the water from the shower every time a guest in the other rooms turned it on. Breakfast was included which is always a nice feature especially with the outrageous price of the room but it was nothing to talk about. Pool closed at 9 although signs said 10. Key cards stopped working on the second day and we had to wait 20 minutes at the front desk for new key cards. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. At check out clerk (same guy that checked us in) didn't even ask how are stay was. Poor customer service and they should be retrained.

I'd do zero stars if I could. This place was super shady with their business practices. We reserved our room through a third party and the total came out to a great deal of 487 for 4 nights. We arrived and checked in and my card was charged an extra $50 and I inquired about it, she said it was for a security deposit; fine. However over the stay I noticed more charges being posted on my card. Turns out they charge $25 a day for parking— something I wasn't informed of at check in. When asking about it to the same lady who checked me in, she acted very rudely and continued to insist she informed us about the fee. We were never informed about it when checking in from her. She had 3 people waiting behind us and was likely flustered and didn't inform us, but that isn't my problem. I'll overlook the weird noise our bathroom fan made, the drains not working, the dirty floors, and the lack of housekeeping (they said covid would do housekeeping once in a three day stay, however we stayed 4 and never got a visit), but shady business practices I will not overlook. I would not recommend staying here to anyone, not even my greatest enemy.

Friendly and helpful staff. A 10-minute walk to the Mission and a 15-minute walk to the Los Rios Historic District. The motel is located next to the freeway, which some may consider a plus and others a drawback.

Stood in line 45 min to get checked in. Lobby was 10 people deep and they had a young, incompetent agent trying to deal with a POS system with him on the line with the "owner/manager" trying to figure out what to do. The "owner/manager" should have gotten in the car and driven back to the hotel and helped check people in instead of staying on the phone that long trying to walk the agent through this mess.

We decided to stay at the best Western San we came to San Juan Capistrano in to visit the mission in San Juan Capistrano great location easy to walk to very comfortable and really nice employees Hotel breakfast was excellent lots of choices fresh hot coffee nice clean rooms comfortable beds and a nice balcony

Key card reader didn't work and was locked out of my room for 2 hours. Multiple keys made, no maintenance person there, master key didn't work. Front desk couldn't help and had to have the sheriffs get involved. Disappointing.

This hotel is conveniently located by the I-5 fly in San Juan Capistrano. The checking process was impersonal and painfully slow. The King room with balcony was painfully small. It was somewhat chilly and there was no blanklet for the bed. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold foods from which to choose. At $163 we believe the value was just not there.

This place is great value for the money. Room was clean. No smells or stains. Check in and out was a breeze. Definitely would stay again. I just wish there was a directory to know where your room is at but still great place.

We found Capistrano Brewing, Heritage BBQ, and Dog Pawrk Brewing due to staying here but the hotel itself needs a makeover. We'd been staying in our Van at RV parks prior to our stay with our two dogs. Although we had more space to move around it hadn't been cleaned very well. It was a fine place but we've been to MANY BW hotels in the NW and this just didn't meet the experience and expectations we've come to appreciate

When I first drove in, I was a bit worried because the exterior of the hotel could really use a facelift. But the room seemed to be newly refinished. It was clean and comfortable, quiet enough even if it faced the freeway. I was initially given a 2nd floor room but because my dog is arthritic, I preferred a 1st floor room. The front desk was very helpful and found me a good alternative. I give the hotel a 4 because it was difficult to find the driveway (no clear signage), the "green space" for pets is not too pleasant and the location makes it difficult to simply walk around the area. There is however, a wonderful green space a short drive away.

The Capistrano Inn was a very nice experience. We stayed 5 nights. Clean, comfortable bed, and a great full hot breakfast. The Inn is aesthetically appealing to the San Juan Capistrano area. Reasonable price for this area. Close to everything.

For the price this property should have had the pool area open. It's not by the beach, after all. But with nothing in San Clemente it was close enough. I would suggest that they redo the outside appearance and open there pool and spa now that there's no mask mandate in that area.

We booked this hotel because we were attending a wedding near by. We were hesitant based on a few bad Trip Advisor reviews but figured we could handle one night. Check-in is listed as 4 pm and our wedding was 4 pm. Fortunately for us, the hotel emailed us the day before our arrival to pre-register and asked us what time we would be arriving. The hotel is very easy to find, right off the freeway. We estimated 3 pm as our check-in time but as it turned out we arrived at 2:30 pm. We were warmly welcomed by the front desk clerk who checked on the status of our room. Unfortunately we were told it wouldn't be ready for 25 minutes and we “could wait in our car”. So we walked around the property and sat in our car to wait. Once it was 3 pm, we were able to get our room. While the outside of the property could use some updating such as paint etc. our specific room was very nice. We booked a king room with a patio. We were away from the freeway, had a corner room with a nice patio and two chairs, and a very clean beautifully decorated and modern room. Our bed was very comfortable. The only negatives are the pillows (standard at most Best Westerns) which are too big for our liking and the noisy AC unit that ran all night long, making it a little difficult to sleep. Breakfast the following morning was held in the room by the pool. They had the usual make-your-own waffles, cereal, fruit, toast, pastries, scrambled eggs, omelets, sausage, potatoes, juice, and coffee. As far as COVID protocols go, their sign on the lobby says “masks required” and the floor is marked for social distancing. Yet, the first gentleman we encountered at the front desk had his mask below his nose, and the one a half hour later wasn't wearing a mask at all. There is hand sanitizer available in both the lobby and the breakfast room. We were happy with our stay and would stay there again.

Stayed at this hotel 11/12 - 11/15. Reserved a King Bed room and requested building three or four. We were here for a wedding and was told these were the most recently updated rooms. We had organized the stay at this hotel with four other couples. We arrived late around six thirty pm form the Sacramento area. Checked in and was given room 101. It looked like a converted utility room and smelled of cigarette smoke. Might be the worst I have seen at any hotel. Went to the office and asked for the King room we requested. The front desk guy argued that We had received an upgrade because it cost more and they were sold out go the King room category that we had reserved. Was told all he could do was a double in building two (214) What a dump, very run down, terrible accommodations. We had a very busy weekend and fortunately did not have to stay in this room other than to sleep. When we checked in we were advised that maid service was every seven days and the pool area is closed due to covid protocol. Sign on the office door said masks required. The front desk guy was not wearing a mask, Heavy set kid with long hair and a beard was the most unhelpful Front desk attendant I have ever had to deal with. Had to use the same towels the entire stay, make our bed and no coffee refills. On Sunday night we had some down time, came back from dinner and wanted to watch the Sunday night game. No remote be found. My wive went to the front desk and purchased a bottle of wine (same guy at the desk) told him we did not have a remote and could not use the television. She was told that there was nothing he could do because he could not leave the desk. I would avoid this hotel at all cost until they correct the customer service issues. And DO NOT stay in building one or two. We will never return or recommend this hotel!

It was a very run down hotel. We were very disappointed. We discovered we didn't have towels so when I asked at the front desk I was told they didn't have towels, we had to use bath mats to dry! sad stay

Excellent hotel. Rooms are clean, spacious, and very comfortable. My experience at the front desk… terrible. Employee seemed bored, sleepy (kept yawning), and miserable. His unkept appearance didn't help much either. He performed his duties but was no help in room direction or anything else. It's a shame because everything else was excellent.

Spacious room with cute décor. The archway into the vanity gives the room a different feel than your typical motel room. The tile in the vanity room added a extra little bit of charm and hominess. The room itself was very spacious and comfy, the bed was comfortable enough.

Room was at first site nice.. we stayed 2 nights and didn't have enough towels or toilet paper. Found 2 small roaches in the bathroom. Reported it to front desk when we checked out and I did hear the staff call maintenance to ask to spray room. Housekeeping did not come to room to offer services, we had to call to ask for what we needed. I would stay again. It served it's purpose. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Had multiple options

My wife and I really love staying at this hotel. Easy access from the highway and the proximity to the Mission makes it a very good way to enjoy your visit. Plus the nice way we were treated by the people at the counter is a plus.

I checked in at 1pm. It took the front desk clerk 5 times to swipe my credit card before it went through keep in mind I have a 50k card with a zero balance. The clerk seem high on a substance. After that my sons dropped the bags off in the room they came back to the car and said dad that room smells. I told them I would see when we got back because we had to go. I came back around 9pm. The room had wet towels on the floor, the beds were slept in, and the room smelled like urine. I immediately removed our luggage and ourselves and went to the front desk and reported the problem. The response I got was HERE IS YOUR BILL. Absolutely infuriating and atrocious. Why would someone spend almost $400 to stay one night in this dump and leave after only being in the room for a total 15 mins. But guess what corperate is trying to get my money back and it seems like I'm out of luck. Now it's time I call my bank and lawyer to put a stop to it.

1) We found large amount of ants in our room. All over the night stand AND on the bed! We called the lobby and sent a maintenance man. He was very nice, but said we should change room, since they will need to change the bed sheets. So my wife called to change rooms. We did get another room. But, we did see a few ants this room, but not on the bed, so since this was our last night, we decided stay in the room. 2) The office chair was filthy. We put a towel over the chair seat. 3) Evening shift lobby staff ( I think it was Teddy-had a beard) was very unwelcoming and very unfriendly. We just drove 10 hours, and he made us feel unwelcome. Also, when I went to pick up new keys, he never apologized for the inconvenience (ants). Not sure why he works at a people intensive business. 4) On a positive note, the breakfast was not bad. With that said, it requires masks for staff, but one staff member in the food area did not wear a mask. He also was not very friendly. My goodness, whats with the sour face employees?! 5) Egress to the street, turning left can be, at times, very challenging. 6) Outside and inside of rooms need a deep cleaning. I do not recommend this hotel.

Front desk staff, when checking in, was not friendly or accommodating, my room smelled terrible, towels crusty, carpet filthy, furniture broken, desk surface dirty, water in shower did not drain. Thank goodness I had a balcony - I opened the drapes and slider, including the screen door to air the room out, and sprayed perfume - to no avail! I usually carry disinfectant wipes but had none.

I booked this room weeks ago and asked for an early check in for a wedding. I was told to call before I arrived to make sure the room was ready. I wrote notes in the booking. I called the day we were leaving and they told me it "should" be ready, but when I tried to give my info she said to just call right before we arrived. When we arrived, they were understaffed, with a lot of people waiting to be checked in. I was told there would be a shuttle for the wedding and the man at the front desk said "I don't know anything about that." I said "well, can you tell me how you can find out" he had no clue. When we got to our room (again, I get it, it's a Best Western, not the Four Seasons), we started putting things away and when my boyfriend opened a drawer, there were empty alcohol bottles. The room seemed clean besides that, but who knows?! The shower pressure was good and the bed was comfortable...only plus. There were sugar ants all over the bathroom floor. Never again!

We needed one night to be near Dana Point for a whale watching early morning. Didn't want to drive all the way from Northern LA to the whales during morning traffic. Best Western SJC fit the bill. Decent price, conveniently located off the freeway, good value for the room and fabulous continental breakfast early enough in the a.m. that we could take advantage before whale watching. Hotel was cute and felt safe. Totally appreciated that the room had a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Many other hotels don't supply those any more. Great choice for our one night stay.

This hotel is terrible. Yes, it's the cheapest hotel in a very expensive area but it's cheap for a reason. The hotel is dirty, tired, and the front desk staff is unfriendly. The front door mat was so filthy we wouldn't step on it when entering the room. We also wouldn't walk around with our shoes off as the carpet looked gross. We couldn't get out of our 1st or 2nd night without a penalty or we would have. The room was completely run down in every way. It needs a complete overhaul. The only positives were the beds were clean and the young woman doing the laundry was very helpful. AVOID if at all possible!

This is more like Motel 6. Front desk staff is very unfriendly and uninformative about everything. When we checked in they said they were charging $50 in case we damaged the room but we would get a refund when we checked out if no damage. Location of hotel is next to freeway so very noisy along with AC unit which keeps you awake unless you're a very sound sleeper. Rooms definitely need renovation and updated. Breakfast is ok but don't expect front desk staff to give you any info about what's available. They have a frig where they take items from but only if you know about it. The rooms certainly need updating and renovation. Bathtub coating was peeling. There was a hole in the wall behind the door entrance. Beds were clean but wouldn't walk on carpet...looks very dirty. Would not stay here again. They never told us there wasn't daily maid service. We had to empty our own trash and take our soiled towels to get replacements. This hotel is a perfect example of bad customer service and what you get for a 1 star property.

Breakfast was great Working the front desk Gilbert and housekeeping girls Marcella & Diana were fabulous, I asked for something and they would see that I got it. Room very clean. The only disappointment was the pool was closed. But you can Uber to the beach. Which their is alot of them Aliso Beach is the closest and one of the nicer beaches.

From time of booking to when we left the hotel, staff were super friendly and helpful. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop by here again. There was a good variety of breakfast snacks for the kiddos. Something for everyone.

The pool is closed, we had no cleaning service and there is no hot breakfast. None of this is reported on their website. Its a bait and switch. You find out when you check in. Several other hotels in the area had their pool facilities open

This hotel was terrible. I wouldn't stay here ever again and don't recommend it. The rooms are dirty, dark and dingy. They aren't cleaned well at all, there was some previous guest's left over food in the fridge. I came home late one night and the sink in the room must've backed up while I was gone. There was thick sand in the sink and the floor was wet. The carpet was wet about three to four inches back from the tile and when I tried to blot it up with a towel, the towel was black with dirt. I let the front desk know and they said they would take care of it. When I came back later that day, the carpet was still wet and reeked of mildew. I was told there was nothing they could do to change my room. I paid $225 a night for a room that was flooded and smelled terrible. The location is disgusting, it's right off the freeway and it's hard to find. If you're heading west on Ortega Highway, you have to make a U -turn somewhere to get into the parking lot and it's not well marked. There's a homeless encampment just down the hill from the hotel and the residents come up to use the water faucets at the hotel. There are obvious signs that drug addicts are residing in the encampment. You can't open the door to get any fresh air because the smell of pot from the homeless tents is overwhelming. I chose this location for the proximity to the event I was attending, but I would have driven further to stay somewhere different. I've stayed in some Best Western's that are at least decent. This was disgusting and pathetic. I had to spend 5 nights here and paid almost $1,000 for absolutely the worst hotel I've been in for years. Never again! Avoid this hotel at all costs!

The Hotel Front Desk personal is extremely RUDE. The Gentleman, who was working on Sunday Morning (5-23-21), had no Customer Service and Phone Educate what so ever. When I called and he stated Front Desk, I had ask for a name, I myself like to do business on a first name basis, when I repeatedly asked for his name again and again, He told me there was no need for me to acknowledge his name and to state my call. The reason for my call was, was to see if there were open days for the week in July and the location to the mission and shops. I tried to explain and once again ask for his name, to my surprise, He hung up on me. This person was not professional and was n no need in helping me out. If you do not train him properly or remove him from the front desk, you will be losing a lot of customers. He obviously does not care for my business and I ended making reservations across at the other resort across the highway and paid more for the night, I am hoping that the other employees that are working in this establishment are much more better and have excellent Customer Service. I would rather spend more money on great customer service, than having poor customer service. Please take a really close look at this one person stating that he is Front Desk, if he treated me this way, who knows who else he treated wrongfully and with no respect.

The guy who works on the front desk was poor customer skills. He even refused to give his name. I asked for 2 pieces of granola bars which is available during breakfast. I told him that I will be checking out very early before breakfast area is open. He refused & told me to wait until 6:30 AM. The guy who works on the front desk is rude & with poor customer service skills.

Convenient location to downtown San Juan Capistrano. Free parking available. Friendly staff. Rooms were clean when we arrived; did not get room cleaning service on second night, that was a bit of a surprise. Prepaid for rooms at reservation.

Police came to try to get someone with guns drawn twice in the room right across from us and my family and I had to shelter in place. My wife and daughter were terrified thinking bullets would soon be coming through our room. No one from the hotel or Best Western tea he's out to us at all regarding the incident. Very traumatizing!

When deciding to stay here, I chose this place because it was relatively inexpensive, close to town, and a three-star hotel. Make no mistake: this place is not a three-star hotel. If you are looking for a two-star hotel, this is a great hotel for you, but for a three-star hotel, this simply isn't comparable to another Best Western. All the rooms are accessible from outside, like a Motel 6. At night (or even during daytime), it is definitely not very safe. When reading reviews before choosing the hotel, I read a handful of reviews referring to the safety, but because it was so infrequent, I decided it couldn't be that bad. It's really not great. To get to our room, we had to go through a narrow path that was not lit AT ALL, the perfect setting for getting robbed. As for the location, it is NOT friendly for people walking. On the way to the hotel, you need to cross where the I-5 meets the Ortega Highway. The light for pedestrian NEVER turns green. We waited for five minutes, and, after realizing it wasn't working, we went to the other side. That side's "Push to Walk" button was also broken, and the light did not turn green at all. We ran across, but, given that it is very busy, we happened to get lucky. I would not feel safe bringing a family across such a large and busy crosswalk while traffic is not stopping. While it is the cheapest hotel in the vicinity, I recommend arriving early during the daytime, and bringing your car: this place is NOT pedestrian-friendly.

This is my second week staying here while my house is being remodeled. And compared to the popular hotel I was previously staying at, I prefer BW San Juan Capistrano Inn much more. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. It's conveniently located near downtown and close to the freeway as well as Tesla charging stations. Tim at the front desk was very accommodating and polite when I booked my stay. Cleaning crews have also been helpful and kind. I highly recommend this motel, great stay for a good price.

Terrible Experience, beyond surreal that someone would act this way. I started packing yesterday to realize that i had accidentally booked the hotel for the night before. It was an honest mistake I made with one click of the button, just the day before. So I called the hotel and explained it to them, but they told me I had to talk to Expedia. For the next two hours, I was on the phone with Expedia and the GM of this Best Western, Jay. After awhile, Expedia told me that the GM declined to accommodate me in any way. So I called the hotel back and asked to speak to the GM myself. I was transferred to someone who claimed to be the GM, but wasn't. Finally, I was forwarded to the actual GM, Jay, who was already livid before he took the call. Jay informed me that he did not care that I had made the mistake. He lied to me that he could do anything to help me in correcting the mistake. He was dishonest in telling me that only Expedia could help. He lied to me in that Expedia wasn't being honest with me. I said to him, "This was an honest mistake." And he said, "And you're paying for it." I had nowhere to stay now. Basic common decency would want you to assist someone in making someone feel they got something for your money, but not the Best Western of San Juan. I finally said to him after he admitted he was being dishonest, "So you're telling me that you can help me, but you refuse to. Is that correct?" "Yes, that's right." Never in my life have I dealt with someone in the hospitality industry like this. His callous and greedy attitude do not belong in this industry. The GM let me know that they had plenty of open hotel rooms that night and the night before. However, I would not even be offered a discounted room. I asked him how he would feel if he were in my shoes. He let me know that he would never make the mistake I did and therefore would never be in my shoes. Great. We ended up staying at the local Marriot, where they treated us very well. I explained to them our situation and they were empathetic. That was all we needed This was a truly awful experience to be treated this way. What did they want? For me to get down on my hands and knees and beg. That's honestly what it felt like. I made an honest mistake anyone could have made and the GM of this hotel took pride in showing me the cost of mistake. He admitted lying to me. He refused to accommodate a paying guest and treated me like trash. "And now you're paying for it." He said. Yep. And now I'm going to make sure as many people as possible know about my experience here.

We had a nice one-night stay here on our way from Illinois to Catalina Island. We had hoped to see the Mission, but it was closed on Wednesdays. Due to COVID-19, some things were a bit different. The complimentary breakfast was a box lunch, and there was no place to sit and eat. It would have been nice if there was a picnic table outside the lobby. I think that that will be fixed is they get their swimming pool open and it will be possible to sit by the pool.

This is a nice, pet friendly hotel that is very convenient in San Juan Capistrano. Right on I-5 , but from our room we could hear no noise at all. The room was clean and fresh, the staff was friendly and the hotel was overall great.

Friendly front desk staff. I had a nice stay despite the Covid19 deal. Clean comfortable room but older. The property and pool area looked nice but everything was closed due to the situation. They did their best despite the conditions. Recommended !!

The worse experience ever. My girl friend and I are regulars at this facility since I live away from this area and we had stay at this hotel several times. however, about two weeks ago we had the worse experience ever. we were having some wine and when my girl friend was having her drink she swallowed a roach into her mouth. fortunately she felt it and was able to spite out. but it was so discussing and embarrassing for me to see that. I was very upset and tried to call the office at that moment but my girl friend calmed me down. she did not even wanted for me ask for an other room. when we turn all the lights on we discover several roaches on the chest drawer in the mile of the two beds. there were also some on desk to the left of the TV. and we even found some baby ones in the refrigerator. We brought in food and wine and there was not place to put our plates or drinks because the roaches were after them. Management please treat room 105 for pest control. we left within in about 3 hours because we could not go to sleep thinking that roaches were going to crawl over us. As I was leaving I informed the person who I return the key cards but he only said I am sorry and that was it. no attempt was made to tell us to move to a different room or some type of credit or anything.

The outside isn't impressive but inside the room is nice. It was very clean and in good working order. The hot tub was quite small but nice and warm. The breakfast is your typical Best Western spread which is good. The location is great as there are quite a few dining options nearby and the Mission was close.

Well, the grounds where our room were in, anyway; which is on the 2nd floor, the farthest to the left. There were birds of paradise, and there were rain the night before when we stayed, so the coast was foggy from it. It made for a very rainforest-y hotel because of the landscaping our room was situated next to. There's free breakfast, and free parking which is good. The room is a bit old, but I never felt unsafe. We're staying for the night since we work nearby and had to stay for the night because our house is an hour's away from here, and my spouse had very little sleep, so it's a convenience thing. The front desk had no personality, but he's fairly young, maybe 19. Granted, there's very little to do with regards to checking in, since everything was already done online. Other than that, you're on your own in parking, carrying your luggage to the room, etc. etc. Which is not a big deal, but definitely do not expect it from this hotel. The hotel itself is next to the freeway, but I never heard any freeway noise, but then our room is located in the most quietest area of the hotel. Great value overall.

The hotel reminded me of a travel lodge, and on my last day (I had already been sleeping there for 2 nights), I found a bottle of lube shoved behind the bed. I sure hope the sheets actually got cleaned.

Excellent location, great breakfast for children, great clean pool and excellent rooms. I would highly recommend the location and the value for money offered by this best western in San Clemente. Staff were wonderful

Toilet was making a very loud whistling noise everytime we flushed, and we had a very bad night sleep. They fixed the problem, by replacing toilet, but no apology and nothing else was said or done about it.

We just stayed here and we were very happy with this hotel. Room was very clean and spacious. Excellent housekeeping and staff! Definitely recommend this establishment. Good location close to many historical sites to visit.

Overall the hotel is fantastic from service to cleanliness. However they do not accommodate the multiple construction workers that stay at their hotel probably have to occupancy according to the vehicles in the parking lot. Most job sites open at 7 a.m. and they do not start serving breakfast till 6:30 a.m. it gives you no time to drive to the job and have breakfast at the same time. It would be fantastic if all Best Westerns started their breakfast at 5:30 a.m. in the morning for their construction working followers

Long story short, we had construction issues, were not told at check in, and never got a call back from the manager for 3 days we were there. They are not willing to do anything about our issues. Will NEVER stay nor let anyone I know stay there.

I highly recommend for both the business and leisure traveler. Friendly staff. Great clean rooms! I had a quick turnaround one night stay...which I do on a monthly basis in San Juan Capistrano. I have stayed at other venues for this but from now on I will stay here.

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Great dining recommendations. Room was clean and decorated nicely. I would recommend that the exterior be cleaned up and free of unnecessary equipment. The breakfast was good however there needs to be more toasters and waffle makers as their was a great deal of back up due to the number of guests.

The staff was professional and helpful. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and good shower. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. The internet worked well and the breakfast was great. I would stay here again.

Great value location. Walking distance to the Mission. Clean rooms and great staff. Breakfast had a lot of variety. Nice restaurants less than two blocks away. The beach is a 15 minute drive away. Really good jumping off point for a vacation.

This Best Western has great rooms. They are super comfortable and feel elegant. The bathrooms are average but fine. Breakfast was really decent with a good variety. The area is really quite and peaceful, especially for being in the middle of busyness and the freeway.

As travelers, we all know that people can make or break an experience. In our case, we booked for overnight as we were attending a wedding in the area and this was one of the designated hotels. My reservation request included early access to our room since the wedding was at 2 pm and we were traveling by car from 3 hours away. I called the day before to check and the front desk person was not helpful at all. She suggested I give them a call around 2 pm the next day to see if a room was available. I explained to her again, that the wedding was starting at 2 pm. It just was not registering. Knowing we had a problem, we arrived at the hotel at 11:30 am. Guess who was the only one working the front desk, yes, the same gal from the phone call the day before. She kept saying they were 1/2 capacity, so of course our room was not reacy. It was not adding up, so I asked if I could upgrade to a room that was ready. She said she didn't have any rooms ready. She suggested I give them a call at 2 pm again. Anyway, we went to lunch and came back at 12:45. There was a second young lady working the desk and I went to her. She was great. She tried to reach housekeeping and they weren't answering, so she went and found them. She found us a room that was available and so we were able to change at other than the pool bathroom. The rooms are old, the bathrooms could certainly use an update. The bed mattress sits on a plywood frame. The carpet is old. The place just needs more light and an update. The breakfast was fine, but nothing special. They needed more seating. I was with others standing up to eat my breakfast. This motel served its purpose, but we certainly won't be going back.

Location was great for activities in Dana Point. I can be hard to get our of the hotel during high traffic times as it's almost impossible to go towards town - have to go right and make a couple U-turns. Room and grounds were nice other than smelly food we found in our fridge when we went to use it.

Great value. Very clean, well landscaped, comfortable lodge. Lovely pool and hot tub area. We particularly appreciated being given a ‘mobility room' with grab bars in the shower and toilet area. It's not a fully loaded room for disabled. Just modified a bit. We will ask for this again. Wonderfully helpful and pleasant staff.

2 days in October. Room very clean and modern. Excellent breakfast included. Nice heated outdoor pool and hot tub. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The only problem we had was loss of Internet on several occasions. After a short delay we could get it back if I rebooted which was fine but a little annoying.

Great stay at the best western. We were there for a concert at the coach house concert hall. Great location for this event. Would differently stay here again nice clean room, plenty of free parking. Friendly & helpful staff

Got here really early as only an hour away from previous hotel. Checked with clerk at reception and they were happy for us to leave car until 3pm check in while we walked around the historic Old Town. A bit better signage needed from the road as although can see sign from freeway, hard to see travelling on the 74 on left side of road. Very pleasant young male check in clerk and given room away from busy freeway as requested. Also surprised to see we had a balcony but for some reason it proved rather smelly sitting out there in the afternoon heat but smelt wonderful in the early morning air. Very hot so had a swim but surprised that pool seemed unheated so a bit of a shock to the system although refreshing in the heat of the day. All the grounds seemed to be very well kept. Found bed and pillows a little bit hard fro me but husband slept fine. Breakfast ok something for everyone, not that special. The first breakfast lady was friendly, very chatty and on top of things but second lady not so much on the ball. Managed to print out boarding passes in the lobby and chat to yet another very pleasant young male clerk. A very nice stay within walking distance of San Juan mission and Old Town. An expensive stay but average for the area. Tip : turn right outside of hotel and right again at traffic lights for more shops and restaurants. Not so expensive as walking towards Old Town area.

Perfect home base for sightseeing, wine tasting and mission touring in the area. So you are not overlooking the ocean but it's easy to drive to the area beaches, walkable to old town and even though it's Near the I-5 exit, you do not get freeway noise. It's tucked away and feels private and quiet. The breakfast is the most amazing free breakfast ever and perfect for the family. The pool is saltwater and the staff are friendly.

We stayed here after a family celebration. It was a very convenient location right off the highway. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. It is a little dated looking. It was quiet even though it was near a highway. The breakfast was great and included a lot. The staff were helpful and anxious to get anything that needed to be refilled or added to. Easy place to stay to see the area. There are many nearby places to eat and shop. It is a good value.

Stayed there for our 40th high school reunion. Beds were comfortable and they had a nice breakfast. It was close to the El Adobe with in walking distance and close to the beach. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the San Juan Capistrano area.

For our one-night stay, the room was good for what we needed. Rooms are a little dated but clean. Rooms open out to external hallways. A couple other guests staying there were loitering around outside their rooms in the parking lot which made us, with our young daughter, feel a bit uncomfortable. Would have been nice to see some security guard walking around. We loved the complimentary breakfast. The only problem was some of the other guests again. My husband headed down to the dining room first, relatively early. He came back saying the room was completely full, with hardly any food left. The guests were rowdy and a bit rough around the edges, to put it mildly. By the time my daughter and I went down to the dining room, those guests had left. The woman in charge of the dining room - I'm sorry to say I forgot her name - was excellent!! I cannot say enough about her. She said she was not prepared for the rush of guests earlier that morning and could not keep up with their high demand for food - they basically wiped the place empty. She worked SO HARD to get everything stocked up again. I must say, by the time my daughter and I were there, ALMOST everything was in supply again. I felt so fortunate that we arrived at the dining room AFTER those rowdy guests left. I'll say it again - the woman in charge of breakfast provided top-notch service!! Kudos to her!!

I ordered a rollaway bed in advance it was not available when I checked in. The coffee maker in the room was broken I tried to callThe front desk three times that morning no answer. The breakfast area was another issue when we got there the large coffee pot was empty the hot food trays or empty had to wait 20 minutes for the refills.

When checking in, I was told there would be a $50 hold for cleaning or damage. When I checked out, there were no additional charges and they told me there was nothing to sign or any final receipt (I'd prepayed for the room). Shortly thereafter, a $50 charge posted to my credit card. When I called the hotel about it, they assured me it was a mistake that had already been corrected. 10 days later and the charge is still there! Now I'm in a dispute with my credit card company over this. Definitely watch your statement for shady charges if you stay here.

Outside is not much to look at but rooms was decent. Hotel is dated but clean. Rooms was big enough for my party of 4 without feeling like we were on top of each other. Toilet clogged 1st day. Maintenance handled right away, no problems after that. My kids enjoyed the hot breakfast. Great options with plenty of seating. Located right off hwy with food options near by.

Although this is an older property, it is apparent that the manager/owner take pride in this hotel. Our room was extremely clean even the corners of the bathroom and baseboards. Our hotel neighbor caused a bit of a ruckus on the patio and the manager was quick to rectify the situation and “relocate” them. The heated pool was great and the patio chairs and tables had umbrellas between them for shade . We didn't use the very small jacuzzi. We guess it would only accommodate 3 or 4 people. The breakfast was pretty standard with make your own waffles, eggs, bacon and potatoes. We would stay there again.

love San Juan Capistrano and the Best Western was conveniently close to everything, clean, friendly staff and would plan to stay again in the future. Would recommend all to stay when they have the chance oh and breakfast which they include is great, something for everyone

Excellent experience. I've been staying at other hotels the past couple of years and was never satisfied until finding the Best Western. Excellent Location. Close to the freeway without the freeway noise. I enjoyed my stay very much especially since it is Pet Friendly. I always travel with my dogs.

Had to move rooms at 10:30pm with 2 small kids. I waited 2 days for a manager to call me, they never did, so I called to complain, the next day a front desk person called me and offered me $14 OFF THAT NIGHTS STAY! LOL, what an absolute joke! To date no one has called to rectify this further.

We love this place, it is our home away from home. The staff members are amazing and helpful, the rooms are fresh and clean and the breakfast is yummy. The beds are so comfortable, the Wi-Fi, etc....excellent.

The people were kind and welcoming. The room was what our family of 5 needed. The breakfast options were typical of a continental hot breakfast. My kids favorite choice was the cool whip on their waffles.

The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The room had a refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast was amazing like eating at a restaurant. The hostess was courteous and welcoming. Check out was easy and quick. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and location.

My family and I had a great stay! It was wonderful to have a hot breakfast every morning and a heated pool and hot tub after a long day of walking and exploring the town. The room was spacious and spotless. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff. Easy check-in. Clean room. They have good service down. The breakfast is good for the price of free. Full continental with a few hot food items tossed in (eggs, potatoes, meat product). Walking distance to Mission San Juan Capistrano and the Historic Downtown District if you don't mind walking along the busy Ortega Highway.

The property was very nice when I arrived. Checked in around midnight. Once we got to the room i noticed dirty towels and pillow covers. I took a short shower and went to sleep. The next morning the bathroom floor was covered in water... Gross!

Would definitely recommend this hotel to couples or families! Check in was good and knowledgeable.. The room was beyond our expections! Easy to find right off 5 fwy!! Miguel and kitchen staff were very good! Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub!

I am a local San Juan Capistrano resident, and needed a hotel for 2 days because my house was being fumigated. I called to make a reservation, and upon first impression I was greeted and efficiently booked immediately. Upon arrival, Mia checked us in. She was amazing! Her customer service exceeded all my expectations! The room we were given was clean, and had everything we needed. The pool area was beautiful! Nader was so accommodating and helped my friend and I with a shuttle. I highly recommend this Best Western, and I will definitely have friends and family that visit stay here.

Great place to stay, easy to walk to everything, Starbucks 1 block one way, All the other shopping, restaurants, bars the other. Keifer Sutherland even stayed there. Very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast buffet with anything you want. Would definately stay there again and again. Pool was very nice to. Manager super nice and staff.

I checked in after midnight and the front desk was friendly and quick. After a long day of traveling, that is appreciated. The rooms have an outside entrance/ motel style. It is a U shaped parking lot/hotel and was on the smaller side, so rather quiet. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Mini fridge was cold. Breakfast was provided but I did not check it out. They have an outdoor pool but there is no gym. Free wifi was fast. This hotel is literally along the highway but I didn't notice a lot of noise. Getting in and out of the parkng lot can be tricky because the hotel entrance is directly next to the freeway exit. Would not want a new driver practicing their skills there. This hotel is an easy 10 minutes from the Dana Point beaches and 5 minutes to the closest Starbucks, nail salons, and restaurants. Great location. I would definitley stay here again.

Just got home today 3/18/19, and I will explain why you should stay elsewhere. Number one we were given two room keys and neither one worked we had to go all the way back to the front desk and get two new room keys, Number two when we got into the room we turn the TV on and it did not work we had to wait for maintenance to come and tell us that this was an old TV and that they had to switch out controls the maintenance man was there for 20 minutes. Number three we decide to go to the pool the heated pool mind you, which is not heated we cannot go in because it is too cold so we decide to use the Jacuzzi which is the size of your tub at home, your tub is probably bigger. The next morning we go for breakfast and there are no fresh eggs bacon or Coldwater. I asked for ice and was told to walk to the ice machine, meanwhile I am handicapped. So I walk to the ice machine only to find there is no ice. The gift shop consists of three sweatshirts and some cold soda and water. I did not consider this the best of anything!

When we arrived, the clerk checking us in was very kind, informative and even offered us a restaurant in town that we were looking for and the ease of location of where we were in order to get there. He was very clear in all information presented, then surprised us with a free continental breakfast offered in the morning. We didn't make it because we are not morning people, but I heard from another guest that it was an awesome spread. The room was VERY clean, great location for what we were doing that night and again, all the staff were very nice. The bed was SO comfortable, linens were awesome. A bit noisy in the morning with everyone dragging their suitcases along the tile pathway, but overall a great experience.

Very confortable room and bed. We were given a room on 2d floor and We Hadrien a view on mountains. Ask for a room on the back ( front is on the highway) Great breakfast in a huge place! And a warm and professionnal welcome and check-in

The rooms are clean. The staff is friendly . Good location you can walk to restaurants stores and even to the mission site. Right off major roads. Also a decent price. These reviews want you to say too much. Less is more.

The location of this motel worked for us as we visited the Mission and the El Rios section of town. Our room was on the first floor and readily accessible. The room was not brand new but it was clean and comfortable. Nice foliage right outside. We had a relaxing breakfast both mornings. The staff was pleasant,

The room was smaller than I expected, but clean. I stayed two nights and there was no housekeeping during my stay. I didn't need any additional towels but I was surprised when I arrived back at the room for the second night that it was not freshly cleaned. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location felt safe and was close to the conference I was attending as well as the Mission and lots of dining choices. I would stay here again.

Excellent value for your money. Easy freeway access but quiet. Staff is very friendly, property is inviting. Rates very reasonable if there's not a big event on. Such a comfy bed!Will be back to stay!

My favorite hotel in South Orange County, CA. Check in is always fast and pleasant. The breakfast is awesome. The grounds are well kept and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking and the location is wonderful. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here for 2 nights, on trip to visit friends who live in the area. Staff was very courteous, and the parking easy. Rooms were a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Only issue was that the room walls allow too much conversation from adjacent room to be heard when trying to sleep - folks next door talked all night long, and we were therefore awake most of the night, too. However, we asked to be moved to another room, and we were immediately accommodated, and the second night was far more restful! Free breakfast in a large space, but the selections a little skimpy, and no tops for the 'to go' coffee provided, which was an omission. Good location off the I-5 freeway, and walking distance to the mission and old town area. Overall, a good choice.

Just off the freeway. Clean and cozy office and breakfast area. Got an upgrade which was a nice treat. Room was clean, bathroom spacious and newer looking. Bed was on double spring mattress so it was high off the ground - which was cozy too. Plenty dark for a good sleep.

Located a hop, skip and a jump from the SJC Mission, this property was a great place to "nest" for the night! With very nice rooms, personable staff and complimentary breakfast, the Best Western Capistrano Inn makes it a no-brainer to return like the swallows in March!

This little hotel surprised me. The reception area was clean and the workers were friendly. The pool & hot tub were clean and well maintained. The room had a great view and was very spacious and comfortable.

The Best Western in San Juan Capistrano is by far the best value I have found on my numerous trips home for the holidays. The rooms are very comfortable and the conference/breakfast buffet is hands down hard to beat. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our friends joined us for an overnight stay in San Juan Capistrano for s golf outing. The Best Western San Juan Capistrano was our choice for our hotel. The front desk personnel were efficient and professional. Our room was clean and tidy. The breakfast the next morning was the highlight. A large dining room with various table options, delicious food, especially the waffles, and a lovely host. The surprise came on check out when we were offered a snack bag to go including a water bottle, apple and granola bar, truly a nice parting gift for a freeway traveler! I would be happy to stop here again.

We like to stay here when we go to see concerts at the San Juan Capistrano coach house. Nothing special about this place but close to the venue, it is clean and has a nice staff. The also have free breakfast and a pool.

My sister and I loved the downtown San Juan Capistrano area! We liked the feel of our room, it even had a balcony. It was clean and spacious and seemed updated. We ate the free breakfast and enjoyed all the different choices. We searched for close by hotels and went with this one for the convenient location to the mission and because the price was just right.

My husband and I visited San Juan Capistrano with our daughter for 3 nights and loved the convenient of the hotel to downtown! The hotel was very clean and well maintained. We ate the complimentary breakfast each morning and liked the different options. The price we paid for the room was lower then the near by hotels I saw online. Overall it was a great time and we will definitely return to this location.

Room had roaches and unpleasant odor. Used air freshener frequently. We selected this hotel for it's proximity to a wedding venue and stayed for 5 nights. The breakfast service was adequate and the server was friendly and hard working. We spent as little time at the hotel as possible because of the issues in sentence one.

Close to shopping and services, sightseeing, Restaurants and all.The pool area was relaxing as was the breakfast . Not too crazy about the eggs...round, patty like. Don't taste all that great!!!Need more herbal tea selection. Also, no tea in room. Coffee only.

The pictures on the website don't show the exterior of the building for a reason. It's a hotel with doors facing out. I stayed on the first floor & the blinds didn't completely close...I used a hair binder so people couldn't see in. The walls are thin & with it being right off the highway it's very loud. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

We stayed at the Best Western Capistrano Inn for a weekend getaway. The hotel was fine and served our needs for a short stay. Our room was clean, and it appeared that portions of it had been updated fairly recently. Aesthetically, the toilet/tub area could use some refurbishment. The complimentary breakfast was a plus. It offered the usual breakfast fare and was good in quality and quantity. The grounds are much smaller than what I envisioned from the pictures on the internet. The only negative for us was that parking was a little cramped and upon returning one evening, every spot in the complex was taken. The hotel clerk was kind enough to move his own vehicle and give us his spot. The hotel is literally right off of the freeway and one side of it is adjacent to the freeway. Our room was on the freeway side, but traffic noise was not an issue. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed a full breakfast with many options both hot and cold as well as beverages. The waffles even came with whip cream! The dining room by the pool is spacious, user friendly, and well attended by staff.

Stayed here for our Anniversary. Really liked our room with the balcony. The staff was very helpful.Pool and Hot tub area was Clean and Breakfast Buffet couldn't be better for the Price Not 5 stars but that's only for $500 hotels. Thanks for all the help front desk.

We stayed at this hotel for about two weeks while house hunting. The staff is wonderful, especially Patty who handles the breakfast room daily. She does an excellent job of making sure everything is clean and constantly re- stocked.

...would be more fitting. The staff are universally pleasant and the hotel is in the lovely city of San Juan Capistrano but that's about it as far as the positives can go. Beyond that...it's not terrible, just far from good. It's reasonably close in terms of access to the more historic areas of San Juan but to walk there you have to cross a six lane highway, negotiate the pedestrian crossing of entrance to and exit from the Freeway and cross about five other roads too. The facilities are acceptable but breakfast is poor with atrocious coffee that they repeatedly ran out of and a shortage of tables that was just beyond belief. How hard can it be to work out the equation between the number of potential guests and the number of seats/tables required? Will we visit SJC again? Hopefully yes, it's a lovely place. Would we stay in the Best Western? Very unlikely, but a new hotel is apparently being built directly opposite, between the Mission and the highway. Hopefully it will be an improvement and may encourage the Best Western get their act together too.

I had booked and prepaid for a room over a month in advance using another hotel search website. When we arrived and pulled up to the office, there was a dead rat in the driveway. I go to the front desk and a young woman with long, reddish hair asked for my name and then nonchalantly tells me that room isn't available. There was no apology. I showed her my confirmation and she said they only had a handicapped room for us with one bed, when I'd paid for a room with two beds. She said they were fully booked. She didn't try to offer me anything like adding a rollaway bed for my son, or try to help. She even tried to insinuate that it was my mistake and asked me a few times, are you sure you didn't ask for a handicapped room? YES, no one is handicapped, we just needed two beds. So I had to then call customer service from the site I booked at and it was this huge ordeal that lasted close to an hour before they found us a room that was 20 minutes away. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

The town of San Juan Capistrano is blessed with a historic site worth visiting and a great assortment of cafes and restaurants, but the one thing it lacks is lodging close to the center of things. Not even a single B&B you'd expect in a tourist town. This need is scheduled to be filled when a new hotel is finished in 2019. But for now your best bet is the Best Western. Not that this is a hardship. The BW Capistrano is comfortable, well-maintained and scrupulously clean. The free breakfast is exactly what you'd expect from a chain lodging, or even perhaps a little more varied. The location is convenient to the Mission San Juan Capistrano, even if it isn't scenic. No complaints from us. All we wanted was clean, comfortable and convenient and we got all three. A pleasant stay.

This is a great location near downtown San Juan Capistrano, an easy walk. We travel with our senior dog & she does not like elevators & cannot go down stairs so our only option is a first floor room. Due to the topography of the site, some of the ground floor rooms have a balcony off the back of the room. Our room had a nice view & Toffee loved laying on the balcony. If management were to make one improvement, it would be to have a second point of access to the dog area & maybe clean it up a bit. Other than that, this is a perfect location & great property.

I booked Best Western due to great rates -- last minute decision to get out of town for Memorial Day Weekend. I was shopping around for the best fare. Best Western was the best rate and the fee included parking and breakfast. We also got a AAA discount. I traveled with my toddler, so my priorities were safe and clean environment. At this phase, I did not need a gym, bar...etc. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. The premises was very clean. Room was comfortable, cozy, and clean. Two queen beds. We had a coffee maker in the room and a refrigerator/microwave (we did not use, but nice that it is available). There is a on-site pool. Breakfast was surprisingly varied in selection and good. Served in the pool house until 10 a.m. Items included: mini egg omelets,, sausage, diced potatoes, bagels, english muffins, breads, cereal selections, make-you-own waffle, yogurt, juices, coffee, hot chocolate,oatmeal, muffins, danishes, hard-boiled eggs, cream cheese, pb spreads, jams, honey...etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting additional items. We were able to check in early and check out late. No additional fees. Highly recommend. Hotel was a very short drive to Historic District.

While the location (next to freeway) isn't the greatest, the hotel has a great layout. Pool area and conference room were clean and well kept. Our room was large, very clean, airy and bright. A great value for the location. Definitely coming back!

Our room was very comfortable. It smelled nice & clean when we walked in. It wasn't anything fancy, but it met our needs for a quick stay. The pool looked nice and was well used! I think it's a nice location for people wanting to enjoy San Juan Capistrano sights or Dana Point/Capo Beach. It's about 10 minutes to Capo beach-Pacific Coast hwy.

A convenient location just a 3 minutes away by car to the depot downtown in San Juan Capristrano. Wonderful restaurants, historic downtown, and the Mission San Juan Capistrano are just a few of the attractions in the area. The city is near the coast and has small museums, a large equestrian center, plus thedepot area where you can pick up Amtrak or Metrolink rail services. The motel is clean and provides a nice breakfast with your room as well as free WiFi. There's a nice pool and friendly staff that is helpful. The lobby has a small convenience shop for snacks and other needs.

Front staff was nice. Room showed its age. Carpet was stained. Complimentary bottle of water, which was nice. Bathroom was clean. Bed was too high for us. Very firm mattress, bit too firm, if you are used to softer mattress. Walls seem to be thin; can hear people walking above us, and also when the shower/bath is turned on, it does make a loud noise. Parking can be a challenge later in the evening. It was full; we got lucky as someone was just leaving. Breakfast was your basic complimentary breakfast. Close to the freeway.

Service is very good, great location by the mission you can even walk to the main street of the Mission. excellent window view to a beautiful sunset this room had no neighbors to the right or left it was wonderful! Breakfast conference room very clean, liked the set=up, foo

This hotel was very clean and very easy to jump off the interstate to locate and stay. There was a bit of construction in the area but still easily accessible. Staff was helpful and breakfast was really good.

Thank you to Robert and staff that helped our mission group with a space to enjoy the day and for our pizza dinner! This was a fabulous place for our group to unwind in the pool and hot tub, and then enjoy a quiet place to share with each other our memorable moments of our trip.

Great location for St. Joseph's Day and the return of the Swallows, to Capistrano. We walked to the mission and shopping center, visited the old town and depot. Plenty of places to eat and closed to the freeway. Nice, clean hotel.

Really clean rooms and nice decor. We had a patio. Grounds are kept up well. Spa near the pool that we used. Small but we enjoyed it. OK continental breakfast. Really enjoyed our night here. We asked to be put on the side that's not next to the highway just in case the noise was bad.

This hotel is right next to the freeway and almost half the rooms face it. There is no soundproofing and I could actually see light through cracks around the door so that didn't help. The freeway noise was so loud that I couldn't sleep most of the night. I am not a light sleeper and usually sleep well at hotels. If you can get a room on the other side its fine (my friend's room was there) but if its a sold out or close to sold out night you may be out of luck.

whether property location is convenient or too close depends on the room location. the first one assigned had pronounced freeway noise. we requested, and received, further east away from I-5. that worked, although if the outside temperature was warn enough to use the balcony the noise would be audible. staff was helpful. breakfast option were "standard" but well presented with a full time attendant.

Very convenient next to freeways. Also close to the Coach House. We went to a concert and it was nice to drive back to San Diego in the morning. The hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast was included and it was ok. Self made waffles, breads, yogurt, cereals, sausage and egg patties etc. I thought the bed was hard and kind of uncomfortable but other people liked it. The pool was closed for yearly maintenance but we weren't going in the pool so it didn't effect us in the least. Will be back in April. Recommend the hotel especially for convenience and price.

just half block off the 5 north Ca. Freeway and front entrance is on the real busy Ortega Hwy. We really enjoyed having a inside room not far from entrance but also close to pool and spa area and breakfast area. We saw there was even a laundry area didn't need this this time around but so very glad they had laundry area as in last few stays with Best Western we really needed that service and they didn't have it. This time we needed dry cleaning but they didn't have that service. There was a service into town with in three miles .

Customer service from the gate was great, accommodations, price, clean rooms and a nice continental breakfast. Must say, I don't stay at Best Western often, however, this is one of the nicest Best Western I have experienced! ??

Unable to shower do to clogged drain and back flow debris .... complained did 3 days have not received a phone call from the manger or the general manger ... being ignored .... left several messages staff is telling us they left for the day .... this is a serious issue ... after celebrating our friends 60 birthday looked forward to a shower in the am to go to brunch with our friends

Great value hotel. Located close to freeway, beaches, San Juan Capistrano. They provide a shuttle up to three or so miles from property. You can walk into town. Nice breakfast. Best to request quiet location. Staff was helpful. Room was clean.

The BW in San Juan Capistrano is always my hotel of choice whenever I'm in So. Orange County. The rooms are well done and spacious and their Staff are always welcoming and polite. They also offer breakfast until 10am which is something I appreciate. It's easy access to wonderful downtown San Juan and near several freeways. The best part is their pricing, it can't be beat! You can't go wrong with this hotel!!

We were very comfortable. We attended an event at the Arts Center in Costa Mesa and drove home to San Diego in the morning. It made a big difference not having to drive all the way home late at night, and was a great place to spend the night.

The price and room were what you'd expect, nothing fancy. Just needed a quick overnight with decent price on road trip. Thankful the room felt clean and nothing looked dirty. The bed was creaky and uncomfortable. When I checked in, I was not informed of the check out time or that free breakfast was included.

The room was a great surprise. Very spacious. Everything worked. The Internet was good enough to run our Netflix on the computer without buffering. It was great to have breakfast go until 10 AM. I was on vacation and didn't want to be forced to be up and out before 8:30. The breakfast was good. The usual. It was totally spread out around the big room. I think the only thing I noticed was they need to regrout the shower tiles or they will have water/ mold behind the wall. There was a lot of highway noise to have the sliding door open. But was a nice idea to have a balcony out the back when you are on the ground floor. (place is biult on a hillside)

We stayed at this hotel a year ago and it was nice and convienent so we went back this year. This year it went downhill. Transients in the breakfast room and around the hotel. The maid cleaned my room but failed to close the door when finished. Who knows how long my door was open. The staff didn't seem to care when I told them. The rooms are fairly clean but it seems as though people are living in the rooms this year. Lots of smokers outside. The location is great so it's to bad the hotel has gone downhill

This property has easy freeway access. It is clean and has attractive grounds. The staff was friendly and helpful. They told us about attractions nearby and gave us maps, etc. The hotel provides a shuttle that took us right downtown although this is walkable for those so inclined. There is lots of shopping nearby. Breakfast was provided in the spacious conference room.There were hot items as well as cereals and waffles. The room was equipped with coffeemaker, microwave, and refrigerator. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The price for our accommodations was very reasonable considered all that is offered.

This southern california best Western had bed bugs all over the entire mattress... Didn't notice till after the 2nd night and had bites all over the bottom portion if my body.... Including my crotch... Honestly so ridiculous... Also the lady at the front desk at check out said she would refund my entire stay but in reality only took 20 bucks off the total... Oh ya did I mention I was hospitalized because of an infection I got from the bugs.... Ya awesome best Western thanks again for the terrible visit and service

Great, value hotel. We were close to the wedding which made it nice but the hotel was clean and quiet (even though it was close to the freeway). Breakfast was a plus! Additionally, it has a nice dog run area.

Fairly low price for the area and satisfactorily clean. Serve yourself breakfast has enough variety and quality to satisfy most palates. I've stayed here a number of times in the past 5 years or so and return because it's competitively priced for the area and adequate for our needs.

Location was great for our needs. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. The carpets in the rooms need to be steam cleaned frequently to avoid the mildew odor we encountered upon our return to the room each night after being closed up for the day.

The hotel was great and very comfortable and clean. There are a few issues (maintenance) that could be addressed (the door to room 114 has a gap on the ground leading to outside and the trim in the bathroom near the tub is in need of attention) but they were small things. The staff was kind and the bed very comfortable. I would happily stay again!

Fabulous place clean and friendly very comfortable and local for everything well worth a visit. excellent for tours to universal disneyland legoland knotsberry farm beaches and much much more all shops within walking distance

In the area for personal business. Perfect location for our needs. Staff have been very courteous and helpful on the 2 separate visits to this property. Breakfast was not fancy but certainly has variety. Cereal, eggs, waffles, yogurt, etc. Room had fridge, micro, and even a recliner. Property is older but the rooms are nicely updated and comfortable. I like the spa by the pool. Selection of restaurants over the freeway. And found a favorite conveniently few miles up the freeway.

This hotel was as comfortable as home!! The bed was amazingly comfortable, the room was very clean, the free breakfast was delicious!! I was especially pleased with the friendliness and politness of the employees!!!!!!

Comfortable rooms. Great pet policy. Nice staff. Breakfast fair at best, but overall a good value and freeway close. Only decent hotel we found with a reasonable $10 surcharge for pets. Motel 6 had no surcharge but rooms were uncomfortable, beds hard as rocks and room directly over the freeway with poor noise cancelling windows. Best Western was $30 more but worth it.

I stayed just the one night at the Best Western Capistrano Inn and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is in a good location for visiting the historic San Juan Capistrano and Los Rios areas, the hotel is clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. My King Deluxe room (No. 405) had a balcony with a nice view and the cost was US$163 including taxes. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again if in San Juan Capistrano.

This Spanish style BW has 2 categories of rooms: rooms facing the pool and rooms facing the dreaded I5 about 100 feet away. We got stuck in an I5 room. If this is your only option, pass. Otherwise, clean room with comfortable beds and pleasant staff.

We had a great one day trip to San Juan Capistrano and this hotel was perfect for our family of 4. The walk to the Mission, restaurants, petting zoo and train station was fine, but the hotel also gladly provided shuttle rides upon request. The pool was a nice break from touring. We will stay here again.

This newly remodeled hotel was a pleasant surprise to our trip. We booked at the last minute and were not expecting to find this gem. From the EXTREMELY pleasant, helpful and accommodating front desk clerk--to the complimentary breakfast and staff, to housekeeping and grounds; we had great service in a very clean, quite environment. This hotel is pet friendly and makes sure both the pet lovers, and the "not-so-much-" pet lovers are both happy. This little property packs a big punch for us. Best Western is usually not the first place, or even on our radar,to chose when travelling. This experience not only added it to the list...it moved it up quite a bit!

Room was clean and modern. Bed comfortable. Shower was roomy with good hot water. The free wifi had strong signal. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The complimentary breakfast buffet was very nice with eggs and sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. Self parking was very packed the evening we arrived due to a local rodeo but was fine by the next morning. Location next to I5 and minutes from downtown SJC and Mission was very convenient. Would stay here again.

Everything was great. A little hard to find but easily Lyft availability the rooms are clean. The front desk helped us with early check in everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The San Juan Capistrano Best Western is a very nice little hotel. The rooms are quiet, up-to-date, don't have any bizarre decor going on. It's close to everything you want to do, assuming you're driving. Internet is free and works. Breakfast is well-presented with many options, although the food is just okay, but for a free breakfast it's definitely at the top. Staff has always been helpful and courteous. I stay here regularly and am glad to have it as my go-to spot in SJC.

Stayed two nights around Labor Day. Hotel is a converted Motel with two storeys and entrance from the outside of each room. The rooms were clean and well provisioned. Front desk staff were excellent. Not easy to walk places from there. Breakfast was good. You're next to a highway and soundproofing from other rooms isn't great,

Reported BUGS in our room to staff members and managers on two out of the three nights all they were able to do was adjust my final invoice by $90... slap on the face for me and my family. Hope management can satisfy my request. Never experience BUGS before and I usually stay at hotels weekly do to business trips.

We've been coming here for 25 years and have never been let down! The rooms are always clean and Robert Qrether and his staff are great! Complimentary hot breakfast served every morning and the pool and jacuzzi are the best! Have used the shuttle service many, many times to transport us to the Coach House to see a show. A great place to stay for couples, families and friends! Highly recommend this hotel!

When I was given my room and made my way to enter my room I found the room already occupied by a homeless man who had somehow gained entry. It was quite frightening. While I was put into a new room that experience plus the overall property condition made me feel very insecure through the stay and I will not be staying there in the future.

I must comment on how professional the management and staff have been to me during my stay in San Juan Capistrano. I am helping my family for a week, and they have been so accommodating! The room has been so comfortable and clean and I love the balcony where I can see the birds and trees, especially in the morning having my coffee! This is my second visit to the Best Western in Capistrano. I didn't comment the first time but I wish I would have. I will be here again to assist my family every couple months this will be my home away from home. Thank you so much for making my stay so nice.

The hotel was clean, rooms are comfy, and the pool was perfect for the soccer team to relax in after a long day of games. The location was good for all the different fields we had to be at. Free parking, Wifi, and breakfast was extremely convenient for the busy soccer schedule.

This was a great location, a comfortable room, nice grounds/pool, and an enjoyable breakfast. The cost was favorable per our research re the area. They have an unusual housekeeping policy as to making up the room. Suppose you wanted to sleep in and put out the "do not disturb" card. At 11 AM you go out for the day, at which time you remove the sign. In my extensive hotel stay experience, I have never been to a hotel that expects you to call the front desk to say you are now away from the room, so please send the housekeeper to clean it up. Usually, once the sign on the door has been removed, the housekeeper comes back, and if upon knocking no one's there, enters and makes up the room. After two of our five days, we had no housekeeper come it, we inquired what was going on, and were THEN told by the Supervisor of Housekeeping, and the desk clerk, whom we contacted, that their policy is to have the guest request a housekeeper at any time that they'd "deployed" the "do not disturb" or the housekeeper would not come back to check, nor enter the room even if noting the sign had been removed. A word to the wise, they don't inform you of this at check-in, no sign is posted; we were told it's in the fine print somewhere!

The hotel is located very conveniently for access to San Juan Capistrano, along with just down the street from the horse event park. The service oriented staff far exceeds most hotels. The facility may have been built years back, but they have made such an attempt and succeeded to upgrading. It's comfortable and relaxing. It's our choice to stay there because we are assured of service, and a nice place that's central to all. Not to mention not generally over priced.

Great hotel to rest and keep going on business or keep driving the next morning courteous people and help full when you need something. Really recommend this place to stay one night or all the weekend

The fencing around the best western Inn is unattractive and next to a very fast paced freeway entrance. Their is only one turn option to the right when leaving the property. Expected a much better quiet area without the hassles.

Very nice hotel and enjoyed the stay. the Breakfast was very good and had a good selection of foods. The sink was a little slow but nothing to cause us to not return. Nice and clean inside the room and around the hotel.

The hotel was in a great location. The only difficulty incurred was not being able to make a left hand turn into the grounds. We had to go up the street and make a u-turn and come back down to enter the grounds. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and a good size. Internet worked great and the hot breakfast was good.

Very convenient location; close to everything; Nice rooms and very helpful staff; clean grounds and quiet; even though the hotel was sold out, the noise was minimal and the pool area was controlled and calm.

Very pleasant stay for a moms/sons soccer weekend. We enjoyed the great location and friendly staff. We felt safe and comfortable. Restaurants and shops within walking distance. Would stay again for future trips.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting multiple cities on our trip. The hotel was clean, up to date and amply supplied with towels, coffee, etc. I noticed and appreciated a "clean" remote for our TV. I always appreciate having a balcony so I spent some time sitting there. We also used the pool both days we stayed here. There are multiple restaurant choices within walking distance and the San Juan Capistrano Mission is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Cathy at the front desk gave us a very warm welcome which set the tone for our stay.

This is a hotel that we have stayed at a few times and I would not hesitate to stay there again. One reason is the freeway access and how close it is to the beach. Also, it is comfortable and has an excellent breakfast room. I will be staying there again and recommend it to my friends as well.

Super friendly staff, clean room, decent price, good breakfast, everything we needed for a one night stay. The pools looked very nice. We arrived late and the only problem we had was parking. It's a quaint hotel I would recommend!

I grew up in Southern California although I have not lived that for thirty years. One the annoying thing about San Juan Capistrano is the it is half-way between Los Angeles and San Diego. So, you tend to spend the day in San Juan Capistrano but never the night. Well, at the beginning of June, I finally spent the night and it was in this wonderful hotel. I regret that I did not do it sooner. This hotel has beautiful and it is more practical than many of the bigger resort hotels. I was in Room 315. It is next to an outstanding pool and I was able to park my car in front of the door. The personnel was great from the moment I arrived. If I ever fly through LAX, I will make the 1 hour drive to stay here again.

Everything was perfect including the pool, breakfast and the employees. We were there for a prom down the street. We didn't even want to leave the hotel. It was a great experience. We were in the pool most of the time.

While the rooms are average (which isn't bad), the Best Western Capistrano Inn is convenient to Mission San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Dana Point, and many other locations on the coast and inland. The breakfast included was a lot more than we were expecting, including make-your-own waffles, sausage, eggs, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, and fruit juices and coffee. All the rooms appear to have balconies or mini-courtyards.

Value at this hotel just isn't there. For the price that we paid for the room I would have expected a cleaner room, a quieter room, and a better breakfast buffet. This hotel is a 2 star hotel at the very best. I would have preferred a Motel 6.

Uncomfortable beds, fleas in room. Breakfast was a nice perk but the food was somewhat bland. Glad we only stayed one night otherwise we would have left covered in flea bites. Will definitely look for other options when staying in the area. Price is too much for the poor quality.

We were heading to Capistrano to a wedding and needed a hotel and REALLY needed an early check in to change and go to a 4 pm wedding. We called from the 405 fwy and Megan answered and said to come ahead. We got there at 11am and she had a perfect, clean hillside view room ready for us!! (3pm usual check in) The entire staff was friendly and helpful-even the morning staff at breakfast.

Our large group stayed here with a wedding block 5-18-17 and we enjoyed ourselves. Granted, it is an older hotel. It needs updates, but what it may have lacked in renovations it made up for in service. The staff was most accommodating. The breakfast was held open a few extra minutes on Sunday morning for late risers. The van was able to help get people around to the Old Mission area. Best of all, the pool is just as nice as it looks in the pictures and is great for breakfast or what ever you may bring.

I think this hotel is preparing for Halloween. Lots of cobwebs! Especially in the dining area. Surrounding area was nice. Lots of things to do. The only good thing about this hotel was the free shuttle service!!!!!

Perfect place to stay when in San Juan Capistrano. If you take the train into San Juan Capistrano (highly recommended), the Best Western will pick you up from the train station before 7pm. A quick drive or walk into town. The rooms are nice, the pool is heated, and the breakfast includes make-your-own waffles.

Everyone was very helpful & friendly. Beautiful city, No Vehicle and still managed to get around easily. Very convenient location.. Hotel offers shuttle for 3 mile radius so able to access what was needed

Aside from some maintenance issues, it's a fine, economical choice in the area. The peephole in the door was broken/removed, and the hole in the door is stuffed with paper. The chain on the door is broken, but there is a deadbolt, so it's safe. When you enter your room the first time, check to see the windows are locked. Furniture is dated, but room is clean and adequate. Front desk staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Pool is nice, and there is a hot tub. Convenient location off I-5 and close to downtown SJC and some good restaurants. Mattress sucks. Very firm. Woke up with back ache. Overall, I'd recommend.

After a crazy day in traffic driving the coast up from San Diego, we stayed all night one night at this location. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable and San Juan Capistrano is a very pretty area. We had a King room with a microwave, frig and they offered a decent full breakfast. We had a balcony with a nice view. Was a good value and we will definitely stay again if in the area. Recommend this one.

I've stayed at many different hotels in orange county over the years this is by far the nicest cleanest well staffed best value hotel anywhere in orange county The location is the best you're a few minutes from the ocean and years close to everything but yourself enough to be out of the crazy traffic But still close enough to go to Disneyland or wherever else you want to go I highly recommend this hotel

Great location. Just across the freeway from Mission San Juan Capistrano. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of options. Nice pool area. Free WiFi was fast. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was everything I expect form Best Western. Clean, great staff & good location. I spent the night at this location for a family wedding near by. Being right off the freeway was convent but once inside your room you couldn't hear the freeway.

We requested a room that was on the quieter side of the hotel (away from the highway) and it was great. The room had a small balcony that allowed us to open the sliding door and get the warm ocean breeze and fresh air. The room was very quiet allowing for a good night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable and the room was large. The breakfast room is very clean with a good assortment of hot and cold breakfast items (eggs, bacon, breads, cereals, waffles, juice, coffee/tea, fruit, etc). A good selection for any appetite. Hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel is a short walking distance from downtown San Juan Capistrano.

Great staff. Breakfast was great!! We were very please with everything. Amber went above and beyond what we expected for the shuttle service. Made our stay so easy to be able to see the town. Can't wait to go back.

I would recommend staying at the Best Western Hotel for anyone visiting San Juan Capistrano…it is in a good location and the staff are very responsive and helpful. We would probably stay there if we return in the future.

We stayed here to attend a wedding at the cathedral and found it to be an excellent location to access the mission and the church plus downtown San Juan Capistrano. We enjoyed the outstanding breakfast selections. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The price is right!

This was a nice and inexpensive place to stay. We stayed one night. Close destance to the beaches. Breakfast was good. Nice area to eat in. We sat pool side, nice warm morning. Nice variety of food choice.

Booked a Friday night stay due to attending a concert at the Coach House. Capistrano Inn is a partner hotel offering a discount to concert goers. We stayed here years ago and liked the location. Booking the room was easy and quick. Requested a ground floor room and when we arrived our room was ready and as requested. Checkin was friendly and quick. Convenient parking in front of our room. The inn was recently renovated and is better than ever. Great complimentary continental breakfast, in room coffee, spacious, clean, fresh rooms with comfortable beds, large TV, refrigerator and wifi. We appreciated the additional convenient plug in strip for our phones and computers. No searching for a plug. The shower head was great having multiple massage settings. Lots of hot water and water pressure. Pool area was clean and inviting with pool towels neatly placed on each lounge. Loved the snack area in the lobby stocked with ample selections of wine, beer, soft drinks and goodies. Free shuttle service to local venues including the Coach House. Driver was courteous and professional. Highly recommend this Inn, great value and exceptional customer service.

I don't often get the opportunity to travel, but being that my daughter and her family relocated from Chicago to southern California, I was finally able to visit them. I rode the Amtrak from Albany, Or and this location worked out quite well. Walking distance from the station took me around fifteen minutes or less. Room 405 was in a quiet location. It was suitable for me and I would definitely stay there in the future. I was completely satisfied. Employees were helpful and appeared to be hardworking individuals, especially in the housekeeping and continental breakfast area.

This place is in need of improvement and renovation. Carpet in room was frayed, signage to hotel bad. Room was very dark and shabby. Won't stay here again. Needs to be upgraded. Not up to Best Western standards.

This was an excellent choice and I would stay again. I wish the room was a little less expensive. It was a convenient distance to the horse show my granddaughter was competing at. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.

We really enjoyed the town of San Juan Capistrano. So many interesting sites to visit. We had good service and the service counter guy was helpful to me on a couple of decisions. First he helped make a good choice for our room site. Then explained how to get to another shopping area I was interested in visiting. But my favorite site was our visit to the Mission which is close to the Best Western Inn.

I had the pleasure of spending two nights here while visiting San Juan Capistrano Mission and the surrounding area. The one thing that stood out most was the amazing customer service. From Steven at the front desk who patiently checked us in to Lori at breakfast who went above and beyond and Arnulfo who safely drove us around the city, we could not have asked for a better staff. The rooms were clean, the amenities were nice, and the grounds were well kept, but the customer service is the reason I would recommend this Best Western. Thank you Steven, Lori, and Arnulfo!

Clean, comfortable hotel well worth the price. The staff was very nice. A Big thanks goes to Lori who had our breakfast ready and to Arnulfo who kept the grounds and pool area looking fantastic. Also, he was kind enough to provide a short shuttle ride to our hiking area. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed most of the amenities the hotel offered. Everything you need in this area is just a short walk away.

Wonderful staff. Good selection of breakfast items. Clean rooms with balcony view. The staff was very professional. We were allowed to check in early in order to visit the Mission and the basilica of San Juan Capistrano which is less than 5 minutes from the hotel. Thank you for a great experience.

The highlight was the included breakfast. The two ladies working there were really nice and went out of their way to give great customer service. Even though it was a small buffet/continental, they were trying to serve you as well. The room was average but clean. Reception was OK and were attentive and not rude.

We enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Very close to everything that we needed for this short visit. We actually did not try the buffet as we had to leave, but it sure smelled good!! The only problem was trying to exit the hotel due to traffic, but figure this is everywhere in this area. We made it work without much of an effort.

We made a last minute reservation. We wanted to go to the San Juan Capistrano Mission. When we got there we were more than pleased with our accommodations. the front desk was very efficient and nice. The room was very clean and had a microwave, a bigger than usual refrigerator. There was a big screen TV, a very nice king size bed, a little patio and an iron and ironing board. There was also a pool and a Jacuzzi. In the morning there was a very good breakfast with eggs, toast, waffles, fruit, juice and coffee. We had a very good stay.

our stay was great good location. next to freeway. not to noisey. great food in area. close to beach area and harbor. lots of nice shopping and resturants . you can catch shullte all the way to lauguna beach in summer make sure you visit san juan Capistrano mission and gift shop

We stayed two nights while visiting friends. Surrounding hotels closer to the beach were far more expensive but not significantly better. We were comfortable. We had out dog with us and appreciated the small dog yard adjoining the parking lot which was clean and well tended. The beds were perfect and the shower had great water pressure. Location alongside the freeway was convenient and did not add any noise.

Definitely one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at for the $$$. I will recommend this to everyone and I will now always stay at best Western Hotels if one is available. It's very close to the freeway which means no nice views but there was no traffic noise at all, even when we were at the pool. I've never been to a hotel that had so many staff members on hand to assist you. It was GREAT!!

The hotel is located with easy access to the Ortega Hwy and I-5. Close to the San Juan Capistrano Mission, it was also a short drive to the beach. Nice pool in quiet area. Please note: This only has exterior stairs. If you are disabled or physically challenged, as my husband and I are, be sure to request a ground floor room. We will stay here again.

Nice hotel. Typical BW property. Clean and friendly staff with best FREE breakfast in the business. I am Platinum with BW (And Hilton) and try to stay at BW when i can. I booked this within an hour of arrival and was happy to get a ground floor room in the back on a busy friday night. Staff was great, room was nice. Location was perfect situated just off the interstate.

I never review hotels but this is a great place to get away, nice little town walking distance and the nearby beaches are very nice. there is a petting zoo parks and trains stop in town as well. by the way don't have to worry about train horns.

The hotel was in a convenient location to visiting nearby family, the mission and the little downtown restaurants and Dana Point. Very clean. Handicapped room worked well with wheelchair and it was refreshing to be located in a central location rather than most hotels that place handicapped rooms facing parking lots or backend of buildings.

This is hotel is quite small but the service is good. I like the people. The hospitality of the employees are good which I can give a 3-star on this. The amenities are not that good like the top notch hotels in the area but I can say this is affordable hotel to those who would like to go to a budget type of hotels.

A perfect place from which to visit a historic town . Close to everything. The property is well maintained and has ample amenities. The property is not a Best Western Plus but it should be. Worth the price. A great value.

Comfortable bed (really soft), great breakfast, great pool, convenient, good price. Enjoyed the bed, especially, after a long day on the road. The property is not new, but so well maintained you can overlook it. A little tricky getting in and out of the driveway at rush hour...be forewarned!

Nice affordable stay, close to the 5 freeway, with good access to the Mission, and Dana Point is only 4 miles away. The staff was very friendly, the pool was a lot of fun, and things were well organized and clean throughout.

The location is .5 miles away from wedding we attended @ Serra Plaza. We used the complimentary shuttle. This hotel is cheap compared to other places in the area. I had kids with me so I took the bottom floor. Internet speed was just average. I would definitely consider this place again if I go back to SJC.

Nice comfortable clean room. Excellent staff. Good breakfast both mornings! Shuttle service available to train station and tourist locations. We had a great time! The staff was friendly, the pool was clean and the Hot Tub was HOT!

Nice large room, great large Vizio hd tv. In room fridge, turned off. Nice large overstuffed rocker, new high king bed. On the downside, no elevator, toilet required multiple flushes to get rid of solid waste. TV remote did not work from rocker, had to be in bed.

Our room was very clean but we had a major problem with out front door lock which took 15 hrs to fix. The dog park was not well kept and no poop bags were provided for the pet owners even though we had to pay extra for having a pet.

We stayed there for 2 nights. Family room with 4 people, one room, 2 queensize beds, fridge, free wifi and an amazing pool. It was a really nice stay! 100% to recommend! Perfect for a short and spontaneous stay but also good for a planed night!

Property looks old from the outside and I was a bit dissappointed driving in. I also didn't like the fact that it was a motel. However the rooms are beautiful. Free water in room and free breakfast to go. I would definetely stay here agin. Good value.

For those of you out there who no longer sleep in a conventional bed and have been unable to find a hotel room with a recliner in it, you need look no further. This Best Western delivers the recliner of your dreams upon request. We only stayed one night but my husband was a very happy camper as a result of being able to sleep in such a comfortable recliner. Bravo!! Many thanks to the mgt.

I stayed here for 4 nights and it was very nice. Super comfy beds and pillows. Clean and loved having a fridge and microwave in my room. Free parking too. Pool looked really nice but my schedule did not allow me time to try it out. Front desk people were all very friendly. I would definitely stay here again!!!!!!

The hotel was very clean and the staff went out of their way to help us in every way they could. Breakfasts were well presented and the pool was great. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. I can't say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of the office staff.

The front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast girl was very helpful with finding what you need. Presentation of food was clean and organized. Would come back again if in the neighborhood.

Room seemed new but the was not vacuumed enough. Found an earring and hair on the bathroom/sink floor. Room was on the first floor so the it felt humid and the odour of the new bunk beds were too strong. The photos on the site does not equate to reality. If you're okay with a typical 2 star motel, then I think it's fine. But it was like a road side motel.

What a total surprise when we arrived at this hotel - it was very well maintained both inside and outside! I would highly recommend to anyone going through that area. When we arrived at the hotel (in June) we turned down the air conditioner and went to grab dinner - I could have spent more time here... Anyway! When we got back to the room it really had not cooled down very much so we called the front desk. I kid you not within a half hour we had a brand new AC installed - now that's service! As I mentioned this was a very pleasant surprise stop and I would like to go back. Capistrano is historic and has it's own charm!

No rooms were available even though the bride was guaranteed a block of rooms for out of town guests. Called to make a reservation and the clerk stated they never heard of the bride. Awful service. The clerk was inexperienced and of no help.

My daughter and stayed for 2 nights over the holiday weekend. From the moment we arrived until we checked out the people working there were amazing. The ladies who greeted us each morning in the community center couldn't have made us feel more special. We plan to stay there again in the near future!!

From start to finish the staff at th is property was perfect. I called in advance to request a room on the ground floor. No problem. I called for an early check in- again no problem they had a room ready for us. We were greeted by a very nice lady by the name of Amber. She was terrific. The shuttle service that they offer....super great. They dropped us off at the restaurant we went to and picked us up. Our room was clean, and we loved the fact that it had a balcony. The breakfast they served was tasty. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. All in all a great stay

Went to San Juan Capistrano for a short get-away. Since I loved my experience in the Best Western in Old Town San Diego, I wanted to stay at a BW again. No disappointment! Beds were just as comfy as I remembered. The location is excellent! It is right by the freeway, 10 minute walk from the SJC Mission / Old Town and 10-15 min drive to the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park (for Blenheim Equisports events). 1st time I enjoy the breakfast at a hotel, and I was impressed. I will continue to stay at BW if the price continues to be the best around. ;)

The room was very nice, as was the pool area. Breakfast is included. It is a drive up to the room layout but the rooms were very comfortable with fridge and microwave, large tv and comfortable beds. Unfortunately the fridge stopped working a couple days into the week's stay and in spite of calling, they never fixed it. The door was a little touchy. And there occasionally was a strange smell outside- not sure it was the hotel's fault though as it came and went and was not inside.

We stayed here Wednesday June 6th... We were visiting a friend in SJC and it turned out to be very convenient... Everything was perfect... we missed breakfast, but they had a free to-go snack bag for us... I do wish there had been a closet or luggage rack, but otherwise it was nice, and I loved the patio!

The room was very nice, large flat screen tv, desk, large room The bathroom was very large with a separate sink and mirror area. The bath and toilet were behind a door. The light automatically came on when you went into the bathroom though it could be turned off. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great though no protein (eggs or bacon) it had yogurt, cereal waffles and an assortment of toppings for the yogurt. A very nice place to stay and it was easy to find right off the freeway but quiet for sleeping.

I was happy with many things about the hotel, although some were not high quality. So I thought it was a bit overpriced for what it was. Service was great, used the free shuttle several times. Bathroom could be updated. Breakfast was meh, but I didn't expect it to be gourmet. Right by freeway and a busy highway, so traffic noise when windows open, but didn't seem to come through too much when closed. It was nice to have a balcony...with a mixed view. Mountains behind, strip mall in foreground.

Design of the hotel was only fair and facility was somewhat old, but the staff made an excellent attempt to create a pleasant stay with a clean room, very friendly service, and a good breakfast. There was also a free shuttle to the local area between 9 and 6.

Extremely bad noise reduction, bad employee attitude, no compensation for a bad stay. The noise was so bad in my room I had to check out at 4:30 in the morning, even though I complained about it I was offered no compensation.

Took family to San Juan Capistrano mission and chose this hotel because it's 1/2 mile from Mission so we could walk. Super comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Family loved it -- felt like we were on an expensive vacation.

I wasn't expecting much when I came here. I just wanted to be close to The Mission (of San Juan Capistrano.) I was so happy with this place. I was here for business, but will return for business or just a happy break.

For the business traveler who wants a hotel as a base during the day, this is a great location off of I-5, and the staff is very helpful with such requests as an early check-in. It's not a resort, just a very well located place to unwind and change for and between meetings.

We stay here while visiting my step-son who lives in Dana Point. Had a very nice 2 night stay. room was clean, Staff way very helpful when we had a problem with the refrigerator, was fix right away. Good parking but I would not recommend this for a large rig like a trailer or motorhome. This is a beautiful area to explore .

Stayed here passing through on a motorcycle trip. Very pleasant stay, reasonably priced. Service at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Free wi-fi. Safe and parking was right in front of the room.

Adjacent to I-5 exit but adequately quiet. Well maintained. Stayed here several days and found it comfortable. Freshly painted room, nice furnishings, new bedding, linens and towels and very large flat screen. Staff are helpful and polite. Very nice breakfast selection included.

We stayed at the Best Western Capistrano due to pricing compared to the coast. We rented 2 rooms and we were all very pleased with the accommodations. The rooms were updated and very clean - the beds were wonderful. The breakfast area was large and comfortable and they had a very nice selection of items - something for everyone. But best of all Check in and Check out was very quick and efficient and the front desk staff were very friendly and cheerful - we will always book this hotel when we are in the area. The entire staff was great!!! Our Thanks to all at Best Western that made our trip to the area special. Also, we toured the mission and downtown area which we all enjoyed. What a beautiful town.

Pool a little on cool side, Spa was nice. Great Wi-Fi--, great breakfast, great bed. Rushed in morning--pool opens at 10 and checkout at 11am----rushed. The room was a nice size. would probably stay here again.

The staff and the Best Western were outstanding--all of them. Lori was especially helpful at the complementary breakfast. As was Amber at the front desk. The coffee in the rooms (318) was the best I have ever had by far! I look forward to coming again.

It seemed like an older hotel, but it was definitely clean. We were on the first floor at a high traffic area. We heard a lot of noise from people getting in late passing our door and about 3:00 AM we heard the room above moving around.

We've stayed in many Best Western and this one was very close to our destination - Mission San Juan Capistrano, of the few we were visiting. Disappointments: #1 With both of us having very tired legs and knees from a beautiful Jamaican trip, hotel not having elevator and needing to use the stairs to haul our luggages was not fun. #2 Then, what's up with NO closet, no racks, no hooks to hang clothes? #3 We had some left over lunch but before we could put in fridge, both of us had to pull the fridge off its "closet" since it was unplugged! It took a while for it to cool. Food had to be thrown out. A couple hours later, fridge was still warm. #4 one little shampoo, one little soap for two people and that's it! #5 Tiny spider/bug bit me and three days later, I still have a nice itch and painful swollen tush. Ended up seeing doctor and now taking antibiotics for 14 days! #6 The parking can be improved. We park on the side where they have a dog run (no choice as all others were taken) and oops, almost collided with another car...NO directional arrows! #6 Would have like to have shower handles. #7 Some guests were noisy and smoking close to our room. We took Non-smoking room for a reason. - Asthma. Okay for the good: #1 Emmanuel checked us in, very professional and very friendly and helped us discover two restaurants, Ricardo's and El Adobe (that's for another review - excellent places!) #2 Free Wifi #3 Complimentary breakfast was better than I expected. #4 Free parking #5 Nice selection of souvenir shirts and snacks Overall, this was just okay but for $20, we went to Hampton Inn Mission Valley the following day and we were very happy (see another review on this later).

We stayed overnight as we wanted to visit the Mission the next day. They assigned me a room away from the freeway upon my request. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The breakfast was in the building next to the pool. The staff made sure that the food was plentiful and someone made the waffles for us. The clothes hanger area was just behind the bathroom door, which would be crowded if you stayed many days. There was also a small private patio off the bedroom. We would overnight here again.

This is the second year I've stayed at this Best Western Hotel and found it pretty much the same as last year. The only exception was the beds were rock hard which made for a nearly impossible comfortable night's sleep. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, complimentary breakfast is okay and most of all it's clean. It's very accessible to most places of interest in San Juan Capistrano, freeway access close and fairly quiet. If it weren't for the beds I would have given it a higher rating.

This location is good if you are passing through. The price is reasonable enough but it is noisy and the lobby area is very small. It is right by the freeway. Make sure to ask for extra toiletries. Not good for an extended period of time if you like a quiet place. One big plus is the staff. Very friendly and helpful people!

Great Hotel, Friendly Staff "But Noisy" Sometimes I feel they are in the same room with me. Lots of staff members running around in the morning. Sleep In Not possible. It just sounds like a whole army of people. I ll look for a better location of a room that is away from all the noise when they are getting started in the morning. Is their security onsite during the evening? If so that would have heard those people running around all night long and stopped them.

I have been to a couple other hotels in orange county and this one was by far one the best! the employees were sweet and very helpful the room was clean, and the bed was amazing and so comfy! I loved that they had a area just for dogs for any dog lovers out there!

I stayed here for the first time to visit a local venue, The Coachhouse, to see one of my favorite bands. Upon checkin, I was greeted by Angeli in a most friendly manner, and my experience with her only went up, which was WAY above and beyond the call of duty. I am loyal to my own hotel brands, and have never stayed at a Best Western before. If they are only a fraction as nice as this experience, I would consider myself well off. I see lots of bands in this venue, and not only do I highly recommend this hotel if only to meet Angeli, but also because it is a nice hotel. Because of my experience, I will now only stay here when in the area. ~~Arthur

This hotel is very close to many things. We stay here every time we go to The Coach House for a concert. They offer a shuttle, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have stayed here many times because it is easy for family who live near by. I even spent a 3 month period here once. This time however I was alarmed to arrive with a car full of groceries ready for my kitchen room to find that this type of room has been remodeled out of this hotel. I was mislead upon making my reservation and subsequent phone calls to the hotel before arrival that I could have this type of room which previously included fridge, and stove and full sink. I asked specifically for this again when speaking to reception but the clerk did not tell me that they didn't have those any more, which was true at the time I was talking to her. Not good for the reception to lie to the customer. She told me that I could secure that type of room upon arrival.

Rob the general manager and his professional staff make the best western Capistrano inn the best place to stay in Orange county California. I have stayed at many many different hotels over the years but I have never found such great service and clean comfortable rooms like this any where else not to mention it is also the very best value in the area and in the best location it close to the beach and very quiet I find myself sleeping better here than I do at home. i was pleaseantly surprised by this hotel. upon check in i was greeted by the hotel front desk staff and they didnt just check me in, they immediantly made me feel at home with suggestions for dinner and things to do in the area. when i got to my room i was very amazed to how clean and how modern it looked. the beds here were so comfortable, one of the best beds i had slept in at a best western. i very much enjoyed the breakfast that included fresh waffles with all the toppings and a couple pieces of saussage. check out was very easy and convienent, both ambers were very helpful. i definantly will be returning for a future stay!

The place was great for the value. The only thing that I would say as constructive criticism, is that the driveway to enter the hotel is hard to find the first time around and when making a u-turn, it can be quit dangerous with all the traffic. A large sign pointing to the driveway, would help a lot.

Easy access and walking distance to old town and the Mission! We were able to check in early and drive around town. We ate at Ruby's diner( a must for salads and burgers!!! Our room was clean and so were the bathrooms. Nice an updated and the free internet was nice but could not access it on or IPODS or Kindle fire!!? The morning breakfast was excellent and a nice way to start or day. Didn't make the time for using the pool this stay. Getting in and out of the hotel property is tricky and you must pay attention. Shopping grocery is close by as well as restaurants but you will have to walk a ways. Their movie theater is excellent ( stadium seating) in old town and Tuesday's are 5$. Go to Old town El Rio district lots of shops and restaurants.

The hotel was clean and offered everything we expected. Wifi in room for free, good breakfast, and great location. Highway access easy, historic downtown within walking distance with great restaurants.

The hotel is easy to access, always clean and always comfortable. A terrific value for the money. We like to stay the night after a concert at The Coach House Concert Hall in San Juan Capistrano. I highly recommend this Best Western.

We showed up late looking for a room. The front desk was able to get us a room at a good rate and in the morning we enjoyed a free hot buffet breakfast. Doesn't get much better than this. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in town.

I stayed at this hotel back 10 years ago and it was nice then. Love how they modernized the rooms and added the flat screens. Great staff, room was clean, and hotel was nice and quiet. Comfortable beds and best of all was the complimentary breakfast. Food was fantastic, probably the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. Sausage was good quality, waffles were made for you, and they included 3 different fruit jams to go with it. Various yogurts were in the fridge, and they had various fountain juices as well. Great hotel, amazing value, would definitely stay again!

Had a good time and this best western made it more special. Accommodations were great. Clean rooms, friendly staff and great breakfast. We will stay again when we are in the area and will refer family and friends.

This place is amazing, one of the best BWs around! The pool is actually heated, jacuzzi adjacent, grounds are tidy and spacious (parking right at your door), the breakfast is super and the space enormous (no colliding into your fellow travelers going for waffles) -- and special thanks to John for getting us so fast on arrival, it was most appreciated. No wonder we love the BW Rewards program!

The motel is a very attractive property, in an excellent location. It is located very close to many restaurants and shopping. There was ample parking and access both in and out of the property was easy.

Fabulous atmosphere with accommodating staff and clean rooms. They are friendly and welcoming. Here is the best fact:The beautiful pool is extraordinary and so well maintained. Have visited this place many times and look forward to the next one.

This is for now the only choice in San Juan Capistrano. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice clean rooms. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of food, including some hot food items. Over all we had a pleasant one night stay. The only problem was no hot water. Hotel is about .5 miles from the center of the main tourist area and the San Juan Capistrano Mission.

saw a flyer on the back off back pack some one was wearing and called the 800 number , called and gave reservation operator the location where i had to be near Dana Point CA , She gave me three choices within area I chose this based on price , excellent value and right off I 5 exit . super clean and well maintained property .

It's in a super convenient location, right off the interstate, which makes it a bit loud if you're on the wrong side. Extremely clean and has a fridge and microwave to help you save on eating out while traveling. A bit expensive for me, but I did sleep like a baby.

The hotel was very nice. Breakfast was in a nice big room. It was spread out so you didn't have to wait in line. It was good. The staff in the lobby were very helpful. Amber C always had a smile and was always willing to help. Shuttle into town was great.

Nice hotel with all the amenities needed for an easy stay. Clean rooms with micro and fridge. Clean pool and hot tub. Included hot breakfast in a spacious dining room. Convenient location 1 block off interstate and just a few blocks to the Mission and numerous restaurants. A short drive to some nice beaches. Hotels are generally expensive in this area. Got a small discount through an internet discounter.

the staff was friendly,helpful and check in was easy and quick! A comfortable bed,and air conditioned room as well as wi-fi and a wide range of channells on the nice flat screen TV was so much better than I find advertised in other places I have stayed. The breakfast room was well stocked and choices were good.Hot and cold.

The staff were so helpful. When I went to check in, I was early and they gave me a room which the maintenance dept. was painting. The young woman who assisted me immediately straightened it out and gave me another room. When I returned later in the evening, I could not figure out how to lock the sliding door to the veranda. A different young woman in the office came to show me how to work it. Unfortunately it was broken. She immediately made arrangements to move me to a room with a working lock and even helped me move my belongings to the new room. Very professional.

Not what I have come to expect from a Best Western property. Room quality poor due to age of facility. Coffee pot not plugged in and plugin located behind large dresser. Maid quality sub-standard (1 towel left for 2 people). No hot water for showers, just like warm.
