Best Western Plus Newport Mesa Inn

Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Our dughter was with us for two of our five days there and they provided sheets, blankets, and pillows for the pullout couch and there was plenty of room for the three of us. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful whenever we had a question. I would be happy to stay here again. My husband and I LOVED the latte machine in the lobby.

Booked my room online with a Jacuzzi tub upon check-in getting to the room not the room that I paid an incredible amount for the daily rate. Went down directly. Spoke to the manager who told me I did not pay for the room with the Jacuzzi. And I showed him my confirmation that confirmed room had a Jacuzzi tub, but he refused to do anything to compensate me. so avoid this property at all cost. Also property was under major construction.

I usually stay in Newport because that is where I have business but I thought I would try Costa Mesa this trip. This hotel is such a gem. It is right off the highway but is really quiet. The grounds are clean and landscape nicely. The room was large and very clean. As always Best Western has the signature free breakfast with the waffle maker. I love the waffles. They also have some of the best coffee. I am a bit of a coffee snob. The most important thing for me is to feel safe. I felt so secure in this hotel. I would give it a higher score if there was one.

Easy check-in and out. This is a basic 3 star hotel. Evening check-in and reception man was was very pleasant and enjoyed his job. Hotel is undergoing renovation in certain areas. Room was clean. Shower was nice. Breakfast is included in the price. Menu changes by day — eggs, sausages, potatoes, waffle, cereal…. Was an easy place to stay immediately after landing at SNA. Would stay here again.

I had to stay at this Best Western location unexpectedly whilst work was being done at my house over a few weeks. Omar and Naj did a good job working with me on short notice. John however, was one of THE MOST RUDE hotel employees I've met anywhere I've stayed. I don't know if he's unhappy with his job, or with himself, but I hated having to come to the front desk anytime he was working, which is not how any customer should feel. He was unhelpful, lacked knowledge, and would cut me off whenever I spoke to him, or had questions. The cleanliness of the room as decent. However, there were many times I had to go downstairs to ask for soap/towels because they weren't restocked when the room was cleaned. Also, the cleaning ladies would leave their hair behind, and it was apparent the floor hadn't been vacuumed, even when I asked for that as well.

Everything I needed in a comfy stay. Great location. It checked all my boxes. I will be back. Neighbors were a little loud with slamming doors in the morning. Nice swimming pool and GREAT LOCATION!!!:)

We will never stay anywhere else in Newport Beach. A home away from home with an upgrade! Sam made our stay so very special. He should seriously consider taking a position at the Ritz Carlton. The world needs more like him.

Great hotel. Nice folks and good amenities. Clean with everything that you might need for your stay. Everything was in working order. Comfortable, clean beds and located close to the highway. We had a very pleasant experience with them and would recommend.

We had a positive and friendly response from all the staff members. From the check (in, out) desk attendant to the cleaning staff. We were always given a warm welcome during our stay. The staff for breakfast were outgoing and attentive.

Lobby looks good, until you're walking in the first floor hallway. Looks old. Door locks from the inside needs to be upgraded. It looks like one kick and it would bust open. Love the 2 sinks. Beds are comfy. Pillows are so bulky and so hard. The worst one… shower head!!! It took a long time to rinse our hair as the pressure is soooo low. What we did was get a bucket and use the tub water spout to get water and pour it on our head/body. Then there's only 3 big towels and there's 4 of us(registered). So we have to eask for extra And the microwave that we asked took a long time to get to us. Make sure you register how many people in your room because at breakfast they would let you pay for the extra person. Staff at the breakfast area was realy nice and friendly. We'll probably not come back here. Payed almost $600 for 2 nights, I think we could find something better. Totally not worth it.

Great hotel. The room was very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful as was the maid service. Stayed because of the free parking and the free breakfast. There was always plenty of parking no matter what time I got to the hotel.

Clean and quite convenient to everything. nice Roon with everything you need and everything worked perfect. Excellent breakfast and separate room, very comfortable. Fresh hot food, outstanding waffle's, would come back just for them! I am a frequent. visitor to this property.

Friendly morning Cafe staff. Clean rooms but could use additional lighting imho. Comfortable and clean bed. Easy access to freeway. Would stay here again if we needed to be in the area. Our traveling friends also stay and enjoyed the hotel. Free parking is a plus. Easy access to UCI, KnottsBerry etc.

stayed here for business. The front desk is welcoming and friendly, check in was simple and easy. Room was clean and looked updated. The Breakfast was good. I loved the that the room had a mini refrigerator and microwave. Close to the beach and freeway. Great location. overall Great stay will definitely stay here again.

Always a GREAT stay. Omar at the front desk is ALWAYS kind & accommodating. I have stayed here many times & as a Best Western Select Diamond Member treated as such. Breakfast is TERRIFIC in the morning & laundry facilities on premises. Beautifully decorated all holidays.

This room had so many nice extras. There was 2 bottles of water, Fritos, granola bar, shampoos, conditioners, lotion, sewing kit, shoe shine kit, shower cap, makeup remover, microwave, frig, coffer maker and all the fixings. Room was so big with desk, sofa, coffee table, dresser etc. Full walkin closet.

The A/C did not work properly at all during our stay. It was very hot and humid in our room, so we couldn't sleep well. The people next door to us were having a party in their room until well after midnight and no one at the front desk did anything. Also if you want “breakfast” here make sure you have a lot of time because they won't let you remove any food or drink from the breakfast area, so you have to wait for a table and sit down if you want to eat, even if you are in a rush to get to a meeting or have starving toddlers, they refused to let us. Insane. We stay at over 100 hotels a year and have never seen this anywhere else. Would NEVER recommend this location and will not stay here again.

My daughter and I attended an event nearby and this Best Western was most convenient. Uber easily found us for our rides. Always someone at the desk to help, cleaning help very friendly. A wonderful selection of toiletry products. Ample areas for the two of us to lay out our things and extra mirror in room so we both had access while getting ready..

I stayed for business at the nearby UCI campus. This hotel is clean and quiet with a hot breakfast. It is located centrally w respect to many good restaurants. The internet was solid for my devices. Other than checkin, I did not need the staff so do not have a direct opinion.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past year while visiting our son that attends college nearby. Overall, we have had positive experiences staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, the past two stays we experienced noisy guests near our room.

The location was perfect. 8 minutes from the beach. The room was clean and breakfast was great. Great value when traveling with family. We stay at best westerns all the time. Never had a problem. Excellent service!

A trip up to the Newport Beach, a great hotel with close proximity to the highway, quite, comfortable beds and accommodating staff. Large rooms, with comfortable beds. Despite the proximity to the highway it was pre quiet.

We spent two nights at this hotel and everything was great and cleaned; full breakfast with great service and kindly people; excellent location, highly recommended and I will absolutely comeback to this hotel.

All and all I was very happy with this hotel. The rooms were clean and the location is great! Close to the airport. Close to the beach. Close to restaurants and shopping. The hot breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly.

We loved staying at this hotel. The breakfast was amazing, location was good, pool and hot tub area was perfect. Everyone was super helpful. When we checked in our TV was not working and they immediately moved us to a room right across the hall. The breakfast and free parking made it an even better value. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again.

My child and I were attacked and traumatized by one of the Managers working at this “hotel”! I am a beautiful single Mother traveling alone with my child to Disneyland - we considered going to Catalina Island for a day and wanted to do this trip on a budget, my reasoning behind choosing this location. Huge mistake. The night before our planned departure at The Best Western “Plus” (so appropriate) @ Costa Mesa, we stayed at Disneyland until 1am, and returned to our noisy room on the highway where we not only had to hear the roar of traffic from the very busy highway that this hotel is located directly upon, we also were assaulted by a screaming child who cried all night long - the walls are paper thin and I was exhausted in the morning! The maids started seemingly intentionally screaming in the halls outside our hotel room and slamming doors very early in the morning- I maybe got a total of 4 hours of sleep - a dangerous amount of (lack) of sleep, to have to drive with my child on. The night before our scheduled departure, the front desk agreed to extend our check out until 1pm but I wasn't finished packing, yet. The maids started banging on the doors obsessively at promptly 1pm! I told them kindly initially, that we needed a few more minutes, at which time, they proceeded to call our room Repeatedly and obnoxiously. I hung up on the hotel manager who refused to give me his name and actually had the utter audacity to start screaming and cursing at me in his muddled middle eastern/strong Latino? accent!! He then proceeded to come to my hotel room where I was terrified with my child by this point - I believed that I was potentially dealing with a deranged and extremely unstable individual! He was jumping up and down outside of our room screaming he came into my room with his key while I was practically naked - half dressed and crying!!! He barged into my room and I told him I would call the police! He kept telling me we extended your room until 1:00 only and you are not welcome here any longer and we will charge you a full nights room rate. I was crying in front of my child telling him ok I would pay the room rate! - He said that was not good enough and was threatening us - he clearly did not want our money for another night, as I was willing to pay it! He wanted to terrorize and abuse us! IT WAS PURE INSANITY and Radical Misogynistic ABUSE- he was clearly discriminating against me because I am a beautiful woman traveling alone with my child and he felt as a tall man - that he had the right to abuse me and my child for checking out of his absolute garbage hotel late after being unable to sleep all night?! I did call the police who came and refused to even write him a citation. I was traumatized at this hotel - it was degrading and discriminatory to have my privacy invaded upon by a man screaming at me and I may seek legal compensation for my child and I's trauma and the intentional discrimination! Please stay elsewhere if you value your safety and well-being! I have been a Manager for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts for nearly 12 years. If I had ever treated a guest so callously I would have not only been fired on the spot, but also escorted off of the premises. In my free time, I am also a travel writer. Huge mistake for this sad, sick hotel chain.

This property does not actually provide Airport Shuttle service, even for the limited hours described on-line. But they did offer a fixed, limited reimbursement for taxi or ride-share which covered about 50%.

This Best Western is a great location for a very reasonable price, especially if you are flying into John Wayne Airport and spending most of your time between Dana Point and Newport Beach. It is very clean and comfortable. They are serving a hot breakfast and cleaning the rooms every day. This is my third stay here, and I have never been disappointed.

Stayed the night for a marathon across the street from the Fair Grounds. It is a short walk to get there. Staff at hotel were nothing but nice, cordial, and helpful. I intend to stay again next year when I race again.

Immediately on check in I'm treated as a valued Diamond member. Rooms are spacious & quiet! Jerry in the morning prepares such a lovely breakfast . One of the kindest & most hard working there is! The lobby is beautiful! Laundry coin operated for guests. I have stayed a few times.

Spent three nights helping out a family member with medial issues. We found this BW just fine for the purpose and price. It is not a 4 or 5 star resort, but that is not to be expected. The room was clean and breakfast one of the better I have come across in this type of "breakfast included" chain hotel. Could it us some upgrades here and there, sure, but if you need a clean place to stay for a few days try this. If you are looking for something more upscale head to the beach, but you will pay a lot more. Depends on what you need and want. .

Rooms need upgrading. Carpet in room filthy. Handles on furniture broken. AC leaked. Breakfast was okay however when you think you're getting OJ and its TANG orange drink, disappointed. Coffee was terrible. I could tolerate the breakfast but the room terrible. This location rooms need to be renovated. Hotel staff were nice.

I am a BW Gold Crown member and was very disappointed with the condition of this hotel. This BW is not up to normal BW standards The rooms are old and outdated, and shabby furniture and bedding. The amenities need serious help.

never experienced any BW hotels limited how many people allowed for free breakfast; However, this hotel did. will charge you 15.00 for 1 person. You had to sign to get pool towels, swimming pool said heated but it was down during time my family stayed

When we go to Cali we always stay at this Best Western. Just glad the hot tub is finally working. We will be back next weekend. Then hoping I will be back in couple weekends after that. Hope the prices aren't outrages during the summer

We stay here after a cruise for 1 night. This is a return visit to this facility. Clean, friendly, great size room with desk & a table with 2 chairs. Hot breakfast on scramble eggs, sausage, country potatoes, waffles, toast, bagels, fruit, and juice & coffee. Great! Loved this hotel!

This is a party hotel. If you want to sleep, stay somewhere else. If you want to run through the halls stoned at 2am- this is the hotel for you. Also, a group of loud partiers tried to bust down my door which was terrifying.

Best Western Plus provided a very comfortable stay with great amenities, including a snack basket, water, walk-in closet, frig, microwave, coffee maker, sofa and coffee table, desk and ironing board. The bed was pretty comfortable. Hotel has a convenient location

We spent one night here on our way to San Diego. Very happy with this choice. The room is well--appointed, large, with comfortable bathroom and lots of places to store luggage. Even though it isn't the newest, the rooms are a step above average. Example: actual granite finish on surfaces. The breakfast room is really nice, bright, clean, and large. Enough seating for everyone. Breakfast is good, except no yoghurt or fresh fruit. Super-fast internet, 150 Mbps. Lowlight: the instructions on how to setup WiFi on the desk are WRONG. Just use the password that you get at checkin.

Dated property adjacent to busy highway. Asked specifically for a quiet room but got a room where the noise from vehicles on the highway got so loud that ear plugs were ineffective. The window glazing did little to nothing to reduce traffic noise heard in the room. We had a 3 night booking and we wanted to cancel the last 2 nights without penalty but had to wait in the room until the manager showed up at 11:30 AM.

Every time I show up I am greeted with a serious conversation about how I have been and what this week will look like. I feel like it is my second home. The staff at the breakfast buffet are kind and Curtis. The cleaning staff is amazing. My bed is made daily and all surfaces are wiped throughout.

We stayed foiur nights there recently. The staff were very helpful and the place was clean and safe. The best part is the free breakfast in the morning. Not as fully stocked as pre-covid but it was still pretty good. The room was functional and most importantly clean. Great water pressure and everyting worked as it should. A significant homeless population lives nearby but they didnt bother us when we walked by each day. It is fairly pricey, however there are NO other options of this caliber nearby.

The hotel is well cared for. We had a really large room. Unfortunately the refrigerator breaker had been off, we didn't check, and I had warm ensures for breakfast 1st day. We checked on the breakfast downstairs and found it mediocre.

The pool, jacuzzi, and gym are all in order. 6. A decent breakfast. 7. Free underground parking. 8. A great price for the OC!

Excellent breakfast staff! definitely the highlight of my stay here. They were so attentive and welcoming. I would recommend staying at this hotel again. I was highly pleased with the cleanliness and attentiveness of the service staff.

First time staying here. This is what we found. We asked for and got 3rd floor room. We like the top floor so no noise from people above us. The AC worked well. We had what's called Executive King room which had king bed and sofa/bed as well as a large desk and microwave and refrig. The shower/bath and toilet were in separate room from the single bathroom sink which is nice. Small outdoor but adequate swimming pool and very small but nice indoor spa (pretty hot and the water jets worked fine). We did have to ask janitor for towels for the spa as there where none there but he quickly brought 2 towels for us. My Apple TV (I have extra old one I bring with me on trips) easily connected to flat screen TV by unplugging the HDMI cable for the cable TV and plugging my Apple TV HDMI cable into the same spot. So we had access to all our streaming services like Netflix, HBO Max, etc without using my laptop. The 3rd floor had a nice public outdoor patio/balcony area with a couple tables which we plan to eat our breakfast at in the morning. They have hot inside breakfast (if you want). The staff so far seemed nice and helpful. Found soda machine ($2 for 20 oz bottle). Coffee/cold water in the lobby. Hotel very easy quick access off the 55 FWY at Fair Drive exit. Outside parking and below level garage (we didn't check that). We are enjoying it so far and plan on staying here again. As far as compared to other BW Plus hotels we have stayed at, there are a few that are a little more fancy/newer but quite a few that aren't as nice as this. I could give this 5 stars but I save that for really super nice places. Maybe after breakfast I will revise to 5 stars depending on what we find.

It's been a few years since we stayed here, but we remembered it when we had an occasion to attend nearby. We were very pleased to see that they still do a terrific job from check-in to check-out. Very well maintained room, comfortable bed, a nice hot breakfast and very professional staff. Glad to see they are doing well. We'll return.

Great rate, always love staying here. My wife's family has stayed here every summer for years and was so happy she booked it. Breakfast was wonderful and a definite plus. Great location. Overall wonderful stay for our little babymoon getaway.

This was the best BW Hotel we've stayed at! Super friendly staff & facility was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was fresh & hot with attentive staff. We will not hesitate to return to this location on our next visit to SoCal.

This hotel is very nice and has spacious rooms (I had a king bed, a sofa, coffee table, desk, and walk in closet in a nicely separated dressing/bath area. The furniture was a little worn but good, heavy quality. Everything was very clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was quiet and In a convenient location. The restaurant was closed when I was there, but there was a free breakfast offered. I asked for the free airport shuttle (to John Wayne Airport which is nearby) and a late checkout the night before I left, but the morning staff has no record of it when I went down to check out and leave. The manager jumped into action and the bateas of calling for a taxi, he took me to the airport himself in the hotel van. Great service and the rest of the staff was always nice and helpful. The manager went above and beyond and I truly appreciate it!

There was mold in my ice bucket and the bag the came with it which ended up all over my hands. I took it to the front desk right away and they assured me they would give me a new clean bucket, which they kind of did. However, they gave me the same bag which had mold inside of it, which I obviously drank and it caused me to be sick the next few days. This was very disgusting experience and I reached out to the front desk right away again and they assured me the manager would reach out to me, but they never did and that was more than two weeks ago. I take that as them not taking it very seriously, and I assume all of their ice buckets are the same way. They claimed it was glue blue it was powdery and black and smelled mildewing.

Due to a family emergency, I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for over a week. They were very accommodating to our large group of family members making and changing reservations. All the staff members were professional and kind. The rooms were cleaned daily. Hot breakfast was also served every morning. The atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing which was what the family needed at this time.

Fast wifi, good breakfast, reasonable price. We had a really ugly view outside our window but as long as you keep it closed this is a fantastic place for the right price. I don't regret choosing it over the others.

Clean room and bathroom. The bed was firm. Pillows are soft. The room was very spacious. Newport Beach is just a short drive away, the freeway is so close. Wi-Fi is great. I will stay again at this location.

I've stayed many times at this property. The staff is accommodating and helpful. 6 minutes from the Orange County Airport. Freeway Entrance across the street. All very convenient. The best part is 5 minutes car ride to the “Anti Lab with The Camp” on Bristol Street. It is the coolest spot I've ever seen. The best restaurants are there and I love the environment. 4 micro breweries within walking distance and the Wine Lab. Lovely outdoor areas to sit and enjoy meals. It's all there...bakery, coffee, juice bars, vegan, vegetarian and classic dinner restaurants. If one stays at BW Newport Mesa, it's a must.

Try to find a better location u are actually right across the street to get on freeway, not to mention if u wasn't to get on that freeway u literally have to drive around the block also the parking at hotel is the worst u park under and very dark Under structure scary

Hot Hot water! And amazing water pressure which is hard to find at hotels. Immaculate clean room and bathroom. Maids always smiling and happy to help . Beds firm. Pillows soft. Gorgeous lobby . Peaceful and quiet halls

It was a good stay but from now on, we'll be bringing our own toilet paper as theirs is SO rough that it feels like coarse sandpaper! Otherwise, the stay was peaceful and my wife and I enjoyed our time there together.

We found this gem well over a year ago and love the location. Rooms are very spacious and cute. Newport Beach is just a short drive away, the freeway is so close and restaurants and stores are at a convenient distance. We had some issues with our stay that didn't concern the room itself. The manager called me today to find out what my issues were. I'm glad he did. He listened and seemed to care about my concerns with my stay and I would definitely stay here again with family or friends.

We visited as a family. The Inn was quiet and very clean. The only problem was that the elevator was broken. We were also disappointed that they no longer serve breakfast not even the modified version any longer. Hopefully, when we return the elevator will be repaired. If you want a spacious room, book an executive room.

NOTE People roam the lobby and hallway with no mask :( the staff is usually unavailable hiding in the back office. when the girl at desk finally came out and I mentioned it she said, really? I didn't see anything.

The customer service wasn't great, hot tub is closed due to "Covid" so there is really no amenities. The hotel is a bit run down needs an update. On top of this we were next to a loud, fighting couple we could hear them through walls and it escalated quickly. I called front desk to please come check on them and I have no idea what they did this went on for more than an hour. We had police officers show up the next morning pounding on our door at 6 am to do a "well check" We told them they had the wrong couple but my husband had the same first name as the guy next door who we found out was chucking bottles at his partner so there was confusion. Spend a little more money and stay somewhere else!

I am a frequent guest at this location and always warmly greeted by the staff. The rooms were not only clean but sanitized and all the staff was very cautious; wearing masks and social distancing. It was very reassuring during these uncertain times. Beds have always been clean and comfortable on every stay! The location is extremely convenient for any freeway or destination. Parking is plentiful and well lit...always feel safe even when arriving late at night . Lots of activities/nearby beaches/restaurants for all ages. You cant go wrong making this your home base for a vacation, business trip or weekend getaway!

Room: 5/5 - spacious, well kept, clean, and comfortable. WiFi is great. TV and channels excellent. Lots of movie channels including 6 HBO Channels. Noise level: 1/5 - you can hear other people's TV, and voices outside the window. The walls are pretty thin. Location: 2/5 - area isn't so savory but easy access with a car. Not a lot of things nearby so you'd have to drive about 8 mins to get to the commercial area. You cannot walk or exercise here. Breakfast: 1/5 - you have to pay $10 per person for breakfast. The two of us spent $25 on breakfast with 2 coffees. Coffee was undrinkable. Food was very sad. Please look at my photos! Usually Best Western offers free breakfast and this is mainly why I booked it. The website did say there is modified breakfast, however nowhere on the website says that there is a fee. Nowhere. I took screenshots of the of website. Honestly, very misleading. I stayed at a best western in flagstaff where they offered free hot breakfast, and it was fantastic. All they have to do here is be a little more transparent. That's all. Website accuracy: 1/5.

They charged my card 50.00 deposit. When it wasnt returned 4 days later the front desk manager told me I stole a hair dryer , NOT TRUE! THIS MOTEL IS A RIP OFF. I stole nothing of course didnt smoke in the room. It was my birthday trip.

Very welcoming environment. The staff members are kinda and fulfilled all my needs. The rooms were better then I expected and the price was great! Better than the Hitlon hotel I stayed at two weeks prior. I will stay again at this location. A lot of places to eat, shopping centers and the beach is only a few minutes away.

We had planned this weekend before Coronavirus showed up. Even having to wear masks everywhere. We love just getting away and Best Western is always consistent in comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Traveled at the very beginning of the Corona Virus outbreak. This hotel had already stepped up to the plate with extra cleaning and set ups to encourage the appropriate social distancing. They seemed to be disantfecting everywhere (I checked in at 10 pm and they were still cleaning) from the common areas to breakfast service the next morning. I felt that they were taking the responsibility they had very seriously even in those very early days. I had to stay in 2 other Best Western hotels on my way home, unfortunately I can't say the same for those locations. I would definitely stay here again and so should you.

I travel to this area of California once a year and have stayed many different places, some twice the price of this hotel. This hotel far superseded any hotel in the area. The bed was big and comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the room was large. I also love when the sink is separate from the toilet/shower and this hotel has that. The breakfast was an added bonus. It was in a separate building and had the feel of a café. Jessica was super sweet and helpful to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our breakfast. I will definitely stay in this hotel again next time I am in the area.

Spotless hotel super comfortable rooms and helpful staff with convenient access to the 55 freeway Northbound onramp. The hotel offers a snack bar with goodies and toys for the kids and amenities for those of us who forget toothbrushes ect.

I stayed one night here since I spent the day working in Costa Mesa. I have to say it was a lot better than I expected and it was actually a nice hotel. Now it faces a freeway (fwy)so there is potential for traffic noise but I asked for a room away from the fwy and I didn't hear anything. The room was clean and spacious. The room had a couch,a refrigerator. The bed was a little to firm for me but if you like a firm bed with big pillows this would be good for you.

This hotel is consistently a great value. Friendly staff, very nice rooms, and convenient to Newport Beach and surrounding area. I stay here whenever I come to town on business, and it is by far the nicest Best Western I have stayed at.

This is a well maintained hotel, comfortable beds and all around amenities. Staff helpful, friendly, accomedating. Used primarily because of the location near airport (did not notice any noise from airport landing/takeoffs)

It is a wonderful property! Close to many attractions, and my family :} We get to do many things, and then I get to come back to my room and meditate, you know, relax, eliminate the stress of being around those you love. Thank you Best Western Plus for helping me to keep my sanity. I heart you!!

If your life peaked between 1982 and 1987 then your in luck! You will feel right at home with the style of the rooms. Although at this point they are very dingy, and dirty overall. The "second rate handyman" repairs will make you wish that you didn't book. Here. Over all not what was expected from Best Western. Although I also found out that they are individually owned so that might be the reason...

First, the good thing: the people working the front desk in the morning were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The bed was comfortable and the room surprisingly quiet, given its proximity to the freeway. The not so good: the woman who assisted me at check in in the evening was the polar opposite of her colleagues on the day shift. She was unhelpful, unfriendly, never smiled. In addition, she asked me if I would prefer to be on the first or second floor. I said the second. Then, she proceeded to book me in a room on the first floor, with no explanation. When I told her that I had booked a king room and she was putting me in two queens, she refused to change it and said the system literally wouldn't let her change it. (This was a blatant lie). When I asked to speak with the manager, she said no one was there and at 8:30pm, she would not call the manager. She said I would have to call Expedia (where I booked the room), to change it to a King. This is not true, as this snafu has happened before and a hotel ALWAYS has the ability to change the room type. So I called Expedia. They called the hotel, and by magic, her system (over which Expedia has no control) suddenly gave me a king bedded room. Some poor notes about the room: as noted above, the bed was comfy. The room was quiet and it was clean. However, the bath is in serious need of updating. The tile was old, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall and it had a noisy fan. IN addition, the room was cold and did not have enough bedding - only one very thin blanket. The heating system gauge did not work, so I could not tell the temperature it was set to. Very frustrating.

My overall stay was great. My family was in town for a vacation and our original hotel didnt work out. I called lateon Friday evening in search of a place to stay for 3 nights, and knew Best Western was the place that could make it happen. Khaled, hope I spelt that right, answered the phone and assisted me with great zeal on making arrangements so that my family could check in that same evening. He was energetic, personable, knowledgeable, and most of all comforting. It was nearly 2230hrs when my exhausted family checked into Best Western, and being their made our entire day even better. Kudos to Khaled and all the staff at Best Western Newport Mesa!

Had a pleasant stay. Room was clean and well equipped. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Staff was friendly and informative. Parking was good and did not have to walk far to room. That was helpful.

Needed an overnight place to stay for an event nearby. Found this place that turned out to be a bargain. Easy parking, spacious, comfortable room and bed, and a very satisfying hot breakfast included. Very well maintained facility and very friendly staff. Interior room entrances, so it felt very safe. The room WiFi was robust and fast. The only complaint, if you can call it that (just looking for an issue), is there are no USB charging ports in the room. Everything else was well thought out. If needed, we will return here, for sure!

We booked the Newport Mesa to be close to the Orange County Mustang Club Christmas party. Several of our friends stayed based on our recommendation. Our room was clean and spacious. Best Western never disappoints.

My check in went very poorly as the front desk person didn't even seem like they like there job. Was thanked for being a rewards member top level at that. Then gave me the room key and said I'll put you 500 points. Next got to room and A/C units worked OK only the display is broken so had to play with it, so I could find the right place to get the room where we like it. The beds were nice and slept well. Went to breakfast at 6am when it starts to find works going in after having a break I guess. When in breakfast area floor was so dirty your shoes stuck to floor so every time you moved your feet you and everyone in tge room could here you walking. As for the food it could be so much better only potatoes where half cooked at best bacon was cold and ether under cooked or over cooked. Eggs were by far the only good thing there. Oat meal packs were old and nasty! Coffee was very good as the have a awesome coffee machine. This I would give a five star only everything else takes away from it. I would hate to see the kitchen as after seeing the eating hall it can't be good. Then I went into the bathroom in the mess hall and it was as dirty as the floor. For this I give the hotel a two stars. Although this could be a five star hotel if they had people that cared about there work and there jobs. Next time in this show here I'll be sure to find lodging elsewhere!! Also we paid $130 plus a night to only look while there and found the same room on the internet for $98 a night so do your home work and don't over pay..

Friendly check-in, to welcome baskets for gold members. Rooms aren't the largest, but well put together with micro & fridge. Breakfast service was the best I've seen in a BW. Service was amazing from taking your dishes away to making sure that everything was well served. Coffee maker was a treat! Definitely would return!

I highly recommend this hotel to anybody from the staff to the Mage they are all absolutely a pleasure to be around the breakfast is absolutely amazing, if you're looking to stay at a comfortable cozy play with a wonderful Breakfast Cafe quiet this is definitely the place to go

Clean comfortable rooms. A lot of granite, large TV with HBO, good breakfast and quite location. The bed was very comfortable. The HVAC fan stayed on, which I like since it provides white noise. I would definitely stay here again

We stayed at this hotel before boarding a plane at John Wayne/Orange county airport the next morning. It's very close and the complimentary shuttle got us to the plane in perfect timing. Speaking of complimentary, the free breakfast was the best we have ever had in any hotel...delicious, well laid out, peaceful and great staff. The rooms are quite large and the front desk rates top. This is the place to stay in the area!

I booked this hotel for three nights, for a business trip. I am in SoCal for business meetings all week, running around, trying to get work done at the same time. Usually, Best Western is a great hotel for business travelers. Except when the hotel decides to SHUT DOWN THE WATER TO THE ENTIRE HOTEL AND DOESN'T TELL YOU. That's right. Manager: We called you and you didn't answer, so we thought you were gone. Me: Did you leave a note? Or put a note under the door? How about when you saw us an hour ago? I have been right there (pointing to business center) all morning. Manager: We don't have to tell you if it is an emergency. Me: So what kind of emergency? Manager: There is a leak in the laundry room Me: What kind of leak? A leak under the sink, or a gushing geyser? Manager: (Pauses, thinks.......) like a geyser. Me: You saw us an hour ago. Why didn't you tell me then? Manager: SHUT UP AND GET OUT! GET OUT!!! The manager, who refused to give me his name, glared at me, and told me to calm down. He said, "I called you, and you didn;t answer. So I assumed you were gone." I asked him where his policy said the hotel could shut off essential services like water without notice. The manager then screamed at me to SHUT UP AND GET OUT. WOW! Imagine that, telling a hotel guest to SHUT UP AND GET OUT? Gaslighting. In case you were unaware, this technique is called "gaslighting". This is typically used by abusers, who use language to make the victim appear to be at fault for the crime that hurt them. It is the same technique used to blame women when they are attacked. What were you wearing. In this case, "you didn't answer the phone so it is your fault you didn't know" is gaslighting. GASLIGHTING. Why was there not a sign up saying the water was shut off. And, if it was such a massive emergency, why did you not say anything to me, since I was in the business center right in front of you all morning? After a lot of yelling back and forth, they turned the water on, and I was able to get ready for my meeting. But this made me very upset, I am still shaking from our screaming match. I cannot believe I got into a screaming match with the manager with no name. He was much nicer to my husband, and extremely rude and domineering to me. How is that behavior looking now? Just so you know, I travel to SoCal at least once a month. Just know you will never get my business again, and no one who works for me will book here, either. My advice to you is DO NOT STAY HERE. Especially if you are female. You will not be respected, and you will be treated like a second class citizen. If you must stay here, ask for top floor. May your preferred deity help you.

We booked about an hour before our arrival on the website, as we were a bit far from home and quite tired. Upon arrival we were greeted very friendly, and were able to get a first floor room close to an exit as is our usual preference. Even upgraded to a suite!

We ended up at this hotel last minute and were greeted by very kind and patient staff. The lobby was beautiful the room was very nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was excellent! The staff wwere very courteous and efficient we were pleasantly surprised and would absolutely stay here again!

Front desk staff at the time of our stay gave keys to another couple that actually entered our room. Staff did tell me that we were in the wrong room but we could have it. That's ridiculous since we don't make the keys and we were told we could stay in that room. Hopefully the maid doesn't walk in your room before 8am without any announcements...

Convenient location, friendly and fast service, clean room through and through. Check in and out super efficient. Full hot breakfast, has a pool to relax at the end of the day. The GM and staff are all very accommodating.

We found this hotel to be very clean and comfortable. We needed a not so expensive place to stay while in town for a concert in Newport Beach. It met all our needs and was close to the venue. The staff were all very kind, welcoming and friendly. Best Western never dissapoints!

This is easily the best hotel in the immediate area. All of the reception staff were extremely courteous and helpful. I was quite pleased with the room upgrade offered , which we found very comfortable and spacious. Best Western Rewards is a loyalty program that works! The shower was very nice (although in a tub) and it was convenient to have 2 sinks. Thank you!

My 18 yr old daughter & I just stayed here for one night & we loved our room! It was extremely nice & clean! It was one of the nicest BW plus hotels I've stayed at! We stayed at another one in Anaheim but it wasn't even close to how nice this one was. It's only about a 15 min drive to the Newport pier & a $12 Lyft ride. The pier is a great place to watch the sunset. We also ate at an Italian restaurant called Il Farro which was delicious! If we ever come back to Newport Beach we will definitely stay here ahain!

Staff is exceptionally friendly and courteous. They made sure all of my needs were met and exceeded my expectations. The hotel looks better than most BWs that I've been to (and I'm a Diamond Member). It truly is the BEST BW location that I've ever encountered.

Hotel was nice. Stayed at this location specifically for it's proximity to the OC Fair. Had a nice, small, clean pool area as well. Easy access to freeways as well. Not a lot of restaurant options within walking distance, but again, we stayed there because of the OC Fair.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus in Costa Mesa! We chose this hotel because we were going to a concert at the fair in Costa Mesa and we wanted to be able to walk to and from the hotel! The only thing that bothered me in the middle of the night was the automatic light in the bathroom!

In need of some serious updates. Lots of little things empty ice machines, tv remote not working, rusty and old shower fixtures, broken dresser. Key had to be reactivated on the second day. The breakfast room, food and staff were very nice though.

I used Best Western hotels throughout Southern California this weekend. This one was by far the nicest one we stayed at. The rooms were extremely clean and VERY spacious. A little noisy with the people upstairs, but Best Western can't really control that. We had a car so the location was fine with us, but not sure how helpful the location would be if you didn't have one. I would stay here for sure if we were to visit Costa Mesa again.

Perfect nights stay. Room was spotless. Front desk guy was lovely. AC and Fridge quite loud however. Parking ample. Would definitely stay again. Didn't have the breakfast so cannot comment on quality of it.

This was by far the nicest Best Western that I've ever stayed in. It is truly beautiful inside and out. With very nice lobby and seating areas and artwork. The rooms are very nice and well-appointed. The common areas were beautiful.

We were greeted by a very nice young man who gave us an upgrade to our room,which was a fabulous start. The room was wonderful, spacious and clean, the extras in the room were very nice, slippers, water ,extra toiletries. Hot free breakfast was fabulous, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles all superb !! We will come back again !!

This place gets 0 stars but they make me give it 1. I have no idea why it says these rooms are 100% renovated. Our room was a mess. There were stains all over the walls (one sure looked like old blood), peeling wallpaper and dirt everywhere. There were 2 things in the window that we thought might have been rat poop. The wall of the shower seemed to be some type of vinyl wallpaper. Shower head was pulling out of the wall. The button you push on the faucet to make the water go from the tub faucet to the shower head seemed like it was going to break off at any moment. The toilet wouldn't flush. The entire place is in desperate need of paint. There were 4 of us in the room and there were nowhere near enough plugs for us all to charge our phones at the same time. There is a free breakfast here but for the most part it was tasteless. We ate it 3 times out of 5 mornings and were all hungry again within an hour of leaving the breakfast room. They rotate one type of scrambled eggs and also have plain scrambled eggs. There are 2 waffle makers to make your own waffles. They will not let you take ANYTHING out of the breakfast room, not even a banana or whatever is left of your coffee. We did go to the jacuzzi one night but did not go in because there was some type of white “scum” floating on top. We paid just under $200/night for this hotel at the time we went. I think it was MAYBE worth half of that. I was honestly afraid to touch anything. They put the TV remote control in a pouch to make you think it's been cleaned and a paper band around the toilet seat. This place is gross!

This was our second trip to California in as many weeks. On the first trip we stayed at a Best Western in San Diego. That experience was a 10 out of 10. It exceeded a lot of the experiences we've had at some higher end hotels in the past. Proof that sometimes you get MORE than you pay for. The next night we stayed in what was advertised as a "hotel" but in fact was an open sewer. I don't want to embarrass them so I won't mention that it was San Bernardino Inn & Suites. On this visit we stayed at the Best Western in Costa Mesa. Again - 10 out of 10. Amazing. Impressive. The staff is over the top friendly and helpful, the property is clean, aesthetically pleasing, well maintained, and the room was immaculate and once again far exceeded our expectations. Based on these 2 recent trips we have decided to sign up for the Best Western rewards program and from now on Best Western will be the first hotel we consider on future getaways.

I'm a Best Western Diamond Member & a Flight Attendant who has traveled the World over/THIS Property is the Best in Best Western!! From the moment you walk into the Lobby & the Very Cordial welcome & then the room, WOW!!! This Best Western Plus is VERY CLEAN. The remote is wrapped Sanitized & Everything Sparkles. The Breakfast is better than most Hotels. Separate Cafe with Complementary Hot Breakfast. I just LOVE it here.

The hotel gets top marks for cleanliness, friendliness, efficiency of the staff and economically reasonable. The room was large clean and bright, all indemnities were in good working order and in excellent condition. Cleaning staff were very efficient and made the stay very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

From the friendly service I received when I arrived, the great breakfast, the very comfortable bed, room, and hotel in general, to the easy check out, I would recommend this hotel to any one. It is centrally located to the John Wayne International Airport and they even offer a free shuttle to and from the airport. This is a great property. You won't be sorry. When you stay there, tell Mary I said Hello. She's wonderful.

We stayed at this hotel for my son's graduation around mother's day. We stayed here approximately 3 years earlier when our son started college. I love this hotel, I have to admit. It is a hidden gem. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They honored our special request for an upstairs room. The rooms are perfect, updated and extremely clean. The staff does a great job. The awesome breakfast is a bonus. We will be back for vacation next time in Costa Mesa.

I highly recommend this Best Western Plus if you're ever in this part of Southern California- and a plus is the free breakfast! Front desk was quick and friendly. Breakfast was great with a lot of choices. I will stay here again when in Costa Mesa. It is on one way street but not hard to get to. Hotel has underground parking to protect your car.

I'm kind of bougie when it comes to hotels, but we needed a quick, last minute, inexpensive place to stay the night in the OC, and this place looked like it fit the part, so this is where I booked! My bougie ass of course has to book the best room in the place, and that's where the 4 and not 5 star rating comes into play. I booked the room with the jetted tub. Welp...the tub in our room(room 225) didn't hold water. the stopper would not plug up the tub, rendering our jetted tub useless. I call down to the front desk, and the man running the show TRIED to tell me too bad, so sad. he tried the whole "well but you've already used the room" card....UMM no dude. we've been in the room for 15 minutes. we literally haven't even sat down yet. then he said, "but its midnight, we have no maintenance personnel on duty. NOT MY PROBLEMO. I paid for the jetted tub, either get me a jetted tub or refund me the difference. Eventually he ever so kindly caved and switched me to another jetted tub room on another floor and let me tell you...im GLAD he switched us to another floor, because as I walked downstairs to get my new room key, there was a NAKEY 65-70 year old man, just chillin in the hallway right outside my room lol. I mentioned it to the man downstairs he didn't seem too bothered, and I was more worried about getting my moneys worth so I moved on with my life. NOW...the room with a working tub was fantastic. there is a bottle of rose and 2 glasses waiting for you, a robe and slippers, and the rooms are well sized and clean. this hotel doesn't skimp on the toiletries either thank god...Multiple bottles of shampoo and conditioner???!!.(can I get an AMEN from the ladies with long hair!?!?) toiletires game is ON POINT here. The breakfast buffet was pretty awesome as well. this place is definetely a good value all things considered. I would stay here again if i was in the same financial situation i happened to be this time(I'm getting married in June and thats taken a huge bite out of my wallet) and this is DEFINETLY the best best western ive ever stayed at.

Husband and I stayed here Mar 15-18 for the car show that was just across the freeway. Location was easy to get to, even though it's on a one-way. Rooms were spacious and clean, as was the rest of the facility. We felt value was very good and staff were awesome. Breakfast is just across the driveway in a separate building and it was a decent hot meal. Staff there were very accommodating as well. Never used the pool, but took a look. Was a bit small, and kids seemed to enjoy it. Having a laundry facility was great when traveling just make sure you are done before it locks up for the evening!!

This is one of my “go to” hotels in the area. The price is reasonable and the breakfast buffet is very good for the price you pay. The rooms are clean and updated. You can walk half a block to a nice little Starbucks and there's a couple of decent restaurants in that same complex. I find it central for the highway, the beach and the mall.

Pleasant staff • great location • excellent pricing • vert well kempt property • decent breakfast. If you're looking for a nice place to stay in Orange County, California, this is a great place. Close to beaches, shopping.

This was our first time at a BW Plus. The room was very spacious. The staff was incredible. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was very firm, which we prefer a softer bed, but the pillows were great. The heater/air conditioner was a bit loud for me, but I'm sensitive to sounds. We could not hear the freeway or the other guests. The breakfast was one of the best complimentary breakfasts we've ever had.The staff was wonderful at the eating area, too. This is not a 5 star hotel, but a good value for all you get and certainly worth staying at.

We were impressed with this property on our recent visit. The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet despite proximity of the freeway. Plenty of free parking, great location with easy access to many attractions, and an awesome FREE breakfast with many wonderful choices; far beyond the usual standard fare. We will definitely be back!

We checked in to this hotel and the first room had issues with the toilet, the second room had such a strong fragrance odor that my nose was burning within 10 minutes. We ended up booking another hotel and leaving. They were kind and gracious throughout this and did provide a refund. Please be advised that this hotel is low-end and outdated. For some reason the reviews do not match what we found when we arrived. If you want clean, comfortable, safe and fairly updated... DO NOT STAY HERE!

The room was quiet, clean and spacious. Front desk staff was always helpful and friendly. Late check out was very helpful. The breakfast was great! Real eggs and bacon, great juice selection and not watered down like most hotels. The breakfast staff was very helpful too. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice staff, great location for my family program meeting. Breakfast and plenty of parking was available. Love the shuttle service to and from SNA. The rooms were very quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

We had a great experience for our quick 1-night stay. The hotel lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas. The bed was comfortable. We utilized the free airport transportation, which was a nice perk. We enjoyed the free breakfast, in which the hot items were served by staff. The free snacks in our room were an added bonus that we didn't expect. They also provided many toiletries in the room, including toothbrush and toothpaste and other items you wouldn't typically expect.

We booked this hotel again because of Breakfast, Car Park, Gym and Laundry. The rooms were upgrade recently. Moving around with rental car was certainly useful. Place is quiet and security is good. Another great stay for about 8 Days!

The Best Western Plus Newport Mesa Inn located in Costa Mesa is a wonderful hotel! The rooms are affordable, super clean, centrally located to the beaches, many sightseeing activities in Southern California, as well as John Wayne airport and major freeways. The rooms are very comfortable and updated. The staff is very kind and professional. The hotel offers a complimentary hot breakfast which has a lot of delicious choices. It is a wonderful place to stay!

The location is very convenient, free and plentiful parking, I liked the lobby, the front desk people were very friendly and efficient. The only 2 complaints I have are about the smell in the room (it was an acrid, probably cleaner or disinfectant) and the noise of the A/C-heater unit. There was no way to stop the fan from running, even if the room was at the correct temperature. We didn't have time for breakfast, but we did have their lobby coffee service, which was nice. It's very close to good restaurants, one that stays open very late.

Highly recommend this particular Best Western Plus....clean, which is a big deal to me, kind employees who actually talk to you and are concerned with your needs. Ten minutes from Lido Marina Village. The breakfast had many choices and employees were on top of the tables and food. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking in this area. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean. Nobody paid me for this review...this is a genuine review.

The not so good—Didn't honor elite membership status by upgrading to best available room (tsk, tsk!) and bathroom amenities consisted of half-used bottles of shower gels, shampoos & lotions. Also, no USB ports to charge in Executive Business class room? It's 2018, folks! C'mon!

Very large room, comfortable king size bed, good lighting, sitting area with couch, refrigerator, coffee/tea making. Quiet. Welcome water and snack in the room. Very good breakfast for a 3 star hotel, including two kinds of eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt dispenser, fresh fruit, etc. Food constantly refilled. Coffee in the lobby. About 10-15 minutes from the Segestrom Center.

In town for a beach music festival, just stayed one night. Front office staff were friendly and helpful; let us check in early. Parking was free (a plus!). Room was fine, and decently priced. Free breakfast was wonderful! Would stay again. In fact, I wish I would've stayed here when I went to the fair over the summer... it's walking distance.

This BW Hotel was our last stop on our 3 weeks' trip through California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona, and it was absolutely the right choice. Everything met our expectations perfectly. Nice, clean, spacious and quiet room, friendly and helpful staff and convenient parking on-site, delicious breakfast. Very good location to explore "the beaches", Disneyland and Long Beach. OK, this hotel is not so close to LAX International Airport, but the freeways bring you there in less than one hour. During our earlier visits to Los Angeles, we always stayed in Santa Monica. But next time, we will definitely come back to the BW Plus Newport Mesa in Costa Mesa!

Very attentive staff, beautiful lobby. We stayed in a room with a very comfortable king size bed, nicely decorated room. There is a nice pool in the back away from traffic,so quite and private. Great breakfast, plenty of choices, the servers were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again

Had to get a room at the last minute because plans fell through. Got a good room at a great rate. Room was clean, beds comfortable, and shower had good pressure. Breakfast was ‘meh.' No yogurt which I usually have. Eggs looked good (I don't eat them) and sausage wasn't bad. Also, if you arrive late at night parking can be a bear, but some staff leave at ten and spots open up after that. Easy access to most places in area and across freeway from Fair Grounds.

We've stayed at this property many times and have never been disappointed. Rooms are clean and fresh, breakfast is great, staff are friendly and it is in a safe and convenient area. Beds are very comfortable and we always have a good night's sleep. We will definitely be back.

This was our second stay. The first was during off-season. This was high season and property was rather full. Room was fine. Clean, comfortable, quiet. The highlight was breakfast. They serve the best hotel included breakfast we have found. Two different egg choices, meat, potato, waffle, fruit, cereal, pastry, breads. Fresh and tasty. As a diabetic I liked the amount of non-carbohydrate offerings. The breakfast room had plenty of seating. Access is a tad complex as it is on a one-way street. Close to "everything".

Wonderful staff! Rooms were very clean with robes and slippers available for use at no additional charge. Snacks and water available at no additional charge. Very safe and friendly location. Free breakfast available and many restaurants close by. I was able to wash my car 1 mile away and get to Fashion Plaza within 10 minutes.

The motel was clean and the staff was really friendly and helpful. It is an older motel but pleasant enough. The room was spacious with separate toilet/shower room, vanity sink. The beds were comfortable. The pillows were a bit on the hard side (one or two soft.) We were there for medical reasons so we spent a lot of time in the room which was mostly quiet. If there are noisy neighbors then that comes thru the door. The motel is local off a smaller freeway so it's not "difficult" to get to but it requires a certain approach (one way) since the entrance to the freeway is in front of the motel. However, we never heard any "freeway" noise. There is a small pool. We didn't use it but looked clean and maintained. There is continental breakfast located across from the main lobby. Eggs, sausage, some fruit, waffle maker, cereal, bagels, coffee, juice. The internet was free but very "spotty". Streaming Netflix was frustrating as it would play for a few seconds then pause. The TV screen was a bit on the small size. The biggest drawback was the small parking area. If you have a big car or truck, it could be challenging. There is additional parking underneath the main floor but spaces are California style - tight. And there is only one entrance/exit. There are stores and restaurants nearby but not within walking distance. Getting on the 405 was quick so you can get to other areas quickly (depending on 405 traffic of course).

Clean room; not too big or busy; great breakfast included. Convenient location next to the CA55 freeway; close to John Wayne and Long Beach airports, Disneyland, and Anaheim. Free parking; gas station, Starbucks, Jack In the Box, and Circle K within five minute walk.

The facility is conveniently located by Vangaurd University. Very clean and fresh rooms. The staff was professional and polite. The breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices. The beds were very comfortable.

The staff were nice. The hotel is ok. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Just a place to stay one or two nights. No more than that. But still is not a bad option to stay. Includes breakfeast but i didnt have time to try it.

I like to travel and have stayed in many hotels throughout the U.S. This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Definitely in the top 5. The service was great, the breakfast was good and the overall experience of the amenities, hotel staff and hotel room was great!

We had a wonderful time in Costa Mesa for a large conference. I was able to check in early and the receptionist/ staff was always very helpful. Romi is my favorite and I was very impressed with how she handled an incredibly difficult situation.She was amazing. She also out up with my early check in time like a champ and was fun to talk to. I would highly recommend this hotel since it was beautiful, clean and a great price to boot!

All the little touches that make a difference. The room was great, real coffee cups, some snacks, nice bed. Loved the big comfy chair and the multiple goodies in the bathroom. Very nice breakfast buffet and warm, friendly service. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for a week in this hotel. The room was clean and quiet. The wifi worked very well. The hot breakfast was very good. The neighborhood seemed fine. It is very convenient, being next to the 55. We stayed in a room on the east side, facing the parking lot, and it was very quiet--no noise from the 55. I would stay in this hotel again.

I come to this area regularly from northern CA to see my doctor. I fly into SNA-John Wayne and need a hotel that has transportation to/from the airport. I have stayed at several hotels here and this is by far the best value. This stay was 3 nights (arrival day, surgery day, recovery day) and no other local 3 or 4 star property comes close to quality for price. Great airport transportation, breakfast, nearby eats, quiet room, amenities (bed is a little too soft for my taste), great staff... Best Western Plus is a standard for incredible value and reliable quality. This property exemplifies the brand. Will happily stay here again.

Best experience ever! From the moment I got there to the moment I left, staff was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of this hotel caught my attention, which is why I decided to celebrate my anniversary there. I'm glad we did because we were treated so well. Everything is clean, beautiful and well designed. I'm definitely returning for another stay at this hotel.. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in a place cozy yet elegant!

Nice hotel - room was large and well appointed, Breakfast was served in a large cafeteria and included hot entrees - eggs, meat, potatoes, as well as the usual waffles, cereal, fruit, etc. We didn't notice any noise from the street nearby.

We stay in a lot of BW properties and this one is pretty much as expected. Fine room, convenient location, etc. We prefer BW because, as a diabetic, I don't find much to eat a carb-full breakfasts. This was the best BW yet. Wide variety of choices from eggs to waffles to cereals to yogurt and fruit plus coffee, tea, and lattes. The food was spread out in three rooms so there was no crowding. The pool looked nice, but we were too busy to use it.

The staff, room, food and property was perfect and I can't wait to go back for another stay. I will recommend this hotel to all of my friends and relatives to stay here too. The breakfast they serve is wonderful with sweet and savory food items.

The staff is professional, helpful and friendly- they make you feel as though you are at your home away from home. The rooms are very clean-the beds are comfortable- the breakfast is very good. The price is very reasonable. I would not stay anywhere slse

The hotel was close to the airport and the freeway, which was nice. They do have an airport shuttle however you need to request it in advance. We made the mistake of just calling down to request that the shuttle take us to the airport and that's when we found out that it wasn't available. However, they did call us a taxi and pay for it which was very nice. The staff was absolutely amazing. Very helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast was okay. We ended up only getting it the first morning we were there. They have a Jack in the Box and a Taco Grill next door plus 2 gas stations. There was enough parking and the area appeared safe. The pool and hot tub were sufficient. My only major issue was that our reservation said we had 2 queen beds. However they were actually double beds and it made for a difficult time sleeping with little to no room.

This was the first time I tried John Wayne Airport for a business trip to Huntington Beach. This hotel proved to meet all my expectations for the basics: bed, bath, desk, internet, printer, TV, security, and breakfast. Convenience for a late arrival at and early departure from SNA was outstanding: at 0630 on a Friday, I was delivered from the hotel, checked a bag, passed security, and at the gate in 20 min. (YMMV). I stayed 2 nights. The price was good. The next time I can avoid LAX to get to Orange County, this is where I plan to stay.

This hotel was fabulous! Upon arrival I was greeted by two very nice woman working the front desk. A $50 deposit wad required but I received that back almost instantly upon check out. I am always very weary about bugs at motels/hotels and so immediately I checked our room for any sign of bugs. There were none! This hotel was clean and I did not get bit while staying 2 nights. The room was immaculate. Believe me I am the pickiest of picky. The hallways smelled fabulous. There was a man shampooing the carpet in the hallway the 2nd day so it was obvious the owners and staff take very good care of this property. The parking lot is fresh and smooth. Entryways are perfect.The first night toilet got clogged(because of my son) and front desk sent maintenance over immediately no questions asked! The kind man fixed it very quickly. Breakfast was superb! Hot and fresh with two very knowledgeable and quick breakfast attendants. Quite a few items to choose including delicious gluten free muffins in two different flavors,eggs,sausage gravy,waffles,fresh fruit,cereal and more! Front desk has an area of things you may need and the prices are fantastic compared to other hotels and even cheaper then gas station items. This property is amazing and close to the beach (within just a few miles). If I ever own a hotel I want to be on the level of this Best Western Plus. I wouldn't change a thing about this property and that is saying a check of a lot coming from me!!!!

Very clean and comfortable hotel. The location was convenient for a departure out of Santa Ana airport just a mile or 2 away. Price was good for the area and the breakfast was great with a lot of choice. Free parking.

Let me start by saying this hotel was clean and great to stay, but there was one bad seed in the mix. Every other employee is great, friendly,and even became friends with some because I've stayed for over 1 month with my 6 year old niece and brother and his wife. His name is Khaled, and on Presidents' Day weekend he gave our room to someone else because prices went up. Even after we've been there for 29 days at this point. We are looking for a new rental. He couldn't of seemed to care less and was Soo rude and would not let me speak to anybody in a higher position. Then proceeded to ask another employee if he should call the police after we were in the parking lot for one hour trying to find another place to stay. Orange count was 98% booked too for that weekend. After we came back from the long weekend and all employees (even all maids) were very happy to see us, and one night my brother and I went to get coffee and asked for some creamers and he said no wile reading his paper and continued to be rude when we asked him to help and maybe get us some, my brother then threw up his hands and said forget it and he then said for us to F-off and go F ourselves and said we were blacklisted and out in the morning. So I recommend this place very much only if Khaled is fired. Thanks for reading.

I took a chance on this place after doing an Express Deal on Priceline, going for the 3 stars since I was only staying one night and would arrive after 10pm. Wanted parking and free wifi instead of fancy. Mary at the front desk was so warm and welcoming - her friendly and helpful style gave me a great experience. The lobby was much nicer than expected and the rooms were spacious, clean, and they even had complimentary bottles of water and an apple plus Cheez-it's for a snack in the room. A nice touch. I was pleasantly surprised and even better - realized later that night I had left my favorite hoodie in the room. Called Mary and she found it!

This well-maintained and friendly facility gives you all the benefits of a great hotel, close to the beach but for much, much less than so-called fancy places just 3 miles down the road (in Newport Beach itself). From this location you are just minutes from Newport Beach but also fortunately located south of the I-405 and SR 73, with access to many side roads to enable you to avoid most of the beach traffic. The rooms are spacious, beds super comfortable, nice indoor Jacuzzi and outdoor pool, exercise room, etc. full-on hot breakfast, and the staff is very friendly. The only drawback is that they can run out of parking spaces very late on weekend nights, but they do keep a few spaces "off limits during the day" for this purpose. A nice touch is the each floor has its own mini-lobby/common area (with big screen TV), which is perfect for families hanging out after hours or in between trips to the beach. They have many discounts and promotions and its central location cannot be beat! In fact, you can actually walk a few blocks to the other side of SR 55 for the Orange County Fair when it is in session.

The hotel itself is quite nice- the room looked clean and comfortable but the bathroom smelled and upon closer inspection, had mold issues that were patched but not taken care of. But the hotel looses its stars for their thin walls and poor handling of a noise complaint. At midnight, I called to make a noise complaint about the room above me. The hotel called the room and the noise stopped for about 30 minutes only to resume again. I tried calling the desk a second time but the phone rang about 30 times before I hung up. By 3am, the elephant like stomping continued so I asked the front desk to let me in the gym so I could get my am workout in before my meeting at 8am. They refused saying that it disturbs the neighbours. Obviously, this hotel needs to invest in sound proofing. Horrible stay for the business traveller. It's cheap but not sure if that is worth an entire night of no sleep before a busy work day.

This was a great hotel, comfortable and well-kept. They treated me well as a Diamond member and gave me a great room. The walls are thin and you can hear domestic disputes. But for a Best Western, I was impressed. Interior hallways! Underground parking! A hot tub! All great stuff. Things fell apart because they billed my credit card instead of deducting points. Then, instead of fixing it, they ignored me for weeks until I had to open a case with corporate. Even then, they were non-responsive. I left some negative feedback directly via my post-stay survey — and the manager responded by leaving a long, angry voicemail on my phone. So... a good property with some administration issues.

This was a very convenient location off the freeway and close to the mall. Attractive lobby, friendly check in. We had a beautiful king room with oversized rocker chair, wet bar and deep soaking tub. There was a small snack basket and 2 bottle of water for us. Very comfortable. Hot breakfast served in a small cafe room with everything. Eggs, bacon, yoghurt, waffles, fruit and more! We could definitely see this was a “plus” Best Western.

This hotel is in a convenient (by car) location within easy driving distance of Newport Beach, Irvine, South Coast Plaza, etc. Not the nicest location—basically right next to the 55 freeway, though noise wasn't a problem—and just a tad on the sketchy side safety-wise, but it was okay. Like other Best Western Pluses we've stayed at, this one is in need of a major remodel—rooms are fine but dated and dark. Paint colors are depressing. Breakfast choices were fine—nothing to write home about, but decent hotel fare. Very good rates for the area and free parking—might stay here again because of that and because of the hotel's proximity to nearby attractions.

We prepaid our rooms the night before checking out as we were leaving very early to catch a flight. At about 12:20 a.m. someone tried to enter our room, but the chain prevented entry. A few minutes later someone tried again to enter the room and the chain prevented entry. We then received a call from the front desk asking us what name we were checked in under. I gave the front desk clerk our name and he told me we were not registered. I told him we were registered to check out the morning of January 7. He then asked me to come to the front desk in the morning. A short time later someone knocked loudly on our door. Time elapsed since this incident started had been about 30 minutes. After the knock I realized that someone had an active key to our room and was harassing us by trying to enter and knocking on the door. At this point I was very concerned for our safety, so I got dressed and went to the front desk. The desk clerk minimized the situation and told us not to be concerned. I continued to be very concerned because someone had an active key to our room. I told him I would be filing a report with the police. I will do this today for the record as the clerk did not seem to be concerned about our safety. We checked out the next morning and I reminded the clerk to have to manager of the hotel call us. As of this moment, 10:30 a.m. on January 8, the manager has not yet called us. I feel we were put in a dangerous situation with upset people trying to get into our room. I wish the staff and management had taken this more seriously. It could have resulted in a serious confrontation.

Great service, clean room, great breakfast, but wish we could take some back to our room. Understand why not. Excellent coffee! Loved the pool and spa! Were not able to access fitness room. Would have been nice if family could have joined us for breakfast, but the food was great!

Was looking for a guest room with 2 queen beds. BW Plus was only the place that offers that. It turned out that the beds were only full size. Anyway, had a nice 8-day stay at BW Plus. Breakfast was great, and room was always kept clean. Also there was no problem finding a parking space late at night.

We stayed one night over Christmas holidays at the BW Plus Newport Mesa. Room was spacious, clean and had loads of bathroom toiletries. Breakfast had a full range of items. Staff was nice and helpful. We would choose to stay here again.

This hotel is solid, offering a very good breakfast selection, clean and comfy rooms with a very friendly staff. I would definitely bring my family here again. The location is great and close to the beach (15 mins), South Coast Plaza (10 mins) and John Wayne Airport (7 mins). Free parking on-site.

I've stayed at this BW+ before and if I come back I'll stay Again. The rooms are always spotless and the beds comfortable.The decor is quite relaxing. I have found the staff helpful and cordial. The separate breakfast restaurant is quite pleasant. Each morning they offer a variation of scrambled eggs and meats.. This morning in addition to standard scrambled eggs they offered eggs made with feta cheese and spinach. The meats were sausage and/or bacon There are also the standard items, waffles, pastries etc.

This hotel is a good value for the money. The hotel is clean, neat, and attractive. The location is convenient. The hotel staff was very attentive. The breakfast area was comfortable and the staff did not rush us away.

I am a big Best Western fan as I've never had a bad experience in any of their hotels. I am also a BW Rewards member. Some experiences have been better than others, but all of been positive. Whenever I visit my family in Newport Beach I stay in this hotel. It is convenient to the highways and it is always a pleasant stay. This hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms and has plenty of amenities. My favorite is the hot breakfast offered and the warmth and friendliness of the breakfast crew. They always make you feel welcome. Please don't forget to tip them. The front desk and other service staff are always welcoming, warm and friendly, as well as professional. The parking is excellent and has both indoor and outdoor areas. There is also a heated swimming pool and spa if you just want to hang out and enjoy Southern California weather. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels, many of them 5 star and fancy, but when I travel the leisure what to see my family, I prefer to be comfortable and I feel very comfortable and at home here. Obviously, I recommend this hotel with one caveat, do not stay in room 313, I think it may be haunted - not evilly haunted, but the bed did tend to move while I was still. Can mattresses have a memory? However, the other ten or so rooms I've stayed in before have been just fine.

We love staying at the Best Western for business and just for a weekend getaway with the grandkids. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the free breakfast is awesome, and the staff is always friendly, and remembers us when we arrive.

I chose this hotel as an affordable alternative place to stay for my nephew's Balboa Bay Resort wedding. Best Western offered free shuttle to and from the airport which is only about 4 miles away. We took an Uber to the wedding which was also just a few miles away. The hotel was clean and well appointed. I especially liked the two delicious apples, snack basket, and bottled water--an unexpected treat! The full breakfast was adequate, but I would have liked more fresh fruit. The layout of the breakfast area was the only negative. Overall, I would highly recommend!

Very clean! Location was very convenient but unfortunately the room was too close to the front of the building which make for a higher noise level. Good quality over all for the area. Familiar with the are and will stay again in the future

The room was was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was hot and very good. We will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we are in town. The only issue for me, not my spouse was the ice machine on the 3rd floor is loud when it is making ice, Rooms near the ice machine can hear the noise through the door at night.

I enjoy staying at this Best Western - the rooms are clean- the price is right . Most of all the staff is always professional and helpful. The two staff members who go out of their way to make you feel at home and make your stay more enjoyable are Romi and Sachie. I will be staying here again in January 2018.

Convenient location off the freeway. Super fast and easy checkin and very friendly. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was great. Really large, had nice 'bonus' touches and inclusions, and provided an excellent night's sleep. Nothing really close nearby, but you can drive to find restaurants. Wi-Fi was great and I used it late into the evening. Breakfast was included and was fine. Would not hesitate to return.

Horrible. Some water fell from the bathroom above into my dopp kit in our bathroom. Clean the rooms; fix the plumbing; get more responsive clerks; wash the carpets. When we first tried to get into our room the lock did not work. They moved us around the building. The ceiling in the bathroom of the second room leaked spilling water on my dopp bag. God knows if it was shower water, toilet water or sprinkler water. They then moved us back to the original room we were in. The lock worked the second time, but only for two of four cards. The manager told me he would discount the room rate by 50%. When I checked out, only one of three nights was discounted by 50%. If I knew that he only meant to discount only one night, I would have switched hotels. This was one of the worst, if not the worst, hotel experience I have ever had. I stay in hotels about 40 to 50 nights a year so for me to rank this at the bottom really says something about the quality. I intend to give up my honors card so that I am not tempted to stay at another Best Western. I will also do what I can to inform "corporate" about this last stay and the fact that it has made me resolve to never stay at your properties again.

Another nice touch was the welcome basket. The motel has been around awhile, but it's clean, comfortable, quiet, and affordable. Close to a number of attractions. Very pleasant, professional staff, especially Kelly. Pretty, cozy outside pool area. Good breakfast and really good coffee.

The Hotel - Upon approach, the hotel looks a little small and cramped and the parking lot is a bit tight but, as they say, do not judge a book by its cover. The lobby is bright and spacious; the modern decor sprinkled with eclectic chrome pieces, the high ceiling, art deco chandelier and sweeping staircase create a light air of sophistication. Beyond the lobby is a convenience kiosk for basic needs, with 24/7 coffee and water service. There is outdoor seating on the second floor and a small outdoor pool area. The breakfast cafe, in the building opposite the lobby entrance, is bright, has plenty of seating and can be busy. The breakfast buffet includes: oj and several other beverages, coffee, tea, cereals, granola, yogurt, dried fruits, breads, bagels, pastries, waffle station x2 and a hot table with one or two variations of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, sometimes potatoes, Wow. The Room - The space between the foot of the bed and the dresser is pleasantly wide with plenty of room all around. Good closet, drawer storage (drawers are a wee shallow), comfy bed and pillows for watching television, clean and very well-lit. During daylight, I used the chrome teepee lamp and desk chair to hold back the blackout curtains as the window is much larger than it seems. Windows open fully. Crown molding is a nice touch. The vanity sink and bathroom were spacious and well lit. The amenity selection included a razor and toothbrush; no need to call down. And who doesn't like a robe and slippers:) The Location - Close to the airport, the Back Bay, beaches and whale watching, very convenient. My only complaint would be internet speed. C'est la vie:)

This so convently located for where I go and who I see. I try to stay here when ever I'm in Costa Mesa. This hotel is so easy to get anywhere in Orange County. I was meeting friends for lunch so no breakfast that morning, but breakfast is good

What a lovely stay!! Great location, not far from the beach. Awesome friendly staff with quick chin in& out. Breakfast was nice with hot items and very good coffee!! Would definetly reccomend and will be backmin the future! Keeo uo the excellent work!

Nice clean rooms. But short on staff if you need something late at night or overnight. Only one employee there that cannot leave the desk. Parking is limited even with the garage if its a full house. The breakfast was nice.

Updated rooms with attention to cleanliness detail. Nice amenities. I was very happy with my stay and I am very picky, I stay in a lot of hotels. For the money, I don't think you can beat the value. Such detail as the TV remote was in a "fresh Remote" bag. The complimentary water and snack basket was a nice touch as well

This Best Western hotel is a Plus for sure. From the friendly and accommodating guest service representatives to the housekeepers, I give them an A+. Not only was my room sparkling clean, and I must say I'm quite picky. The hallways and window seals were dust free, crisp and clean. The breakfast was a real hit with my family. We loved the hot fresh items and variety of the eggs was a nice surprise each day. They even have a make your own waffle bar with a nice selection of toppings or if your feeling creative you can incorporate it into your waffle. Thank you for for the hospitality and most comfortable accommodations.

We have stayed here twice for at least a week each time. It is a clean hotel with a very nice staff. The pool was heated, so we got to enjoy it on a cooler day. It is right off a main highway, so the location fit our needs to visit family in Newport Beach and the surrounding areas. Free breakfast was good to start the day off.

Easy access off freeway , close to the beaches and real chill atmosphere. Mexican food easy to walk to and a convince store in walking distance . Love the pool and spa! I stay there all the time . Thumbs up!!!

The hotel is directly next to the freeway, but the room we had was quiet. Very nice check-in staff, rooms were clean and well-appointed, bed was very comfy. Free breakfast was basic but good. Only minus was wifi was VERY slow and sometimes couldn't connect. 15 minute drive to the beach, restaurants, stores, etc. Drove 20 minutes to the Nixon Library to check that out as well.

Staff is terrific, the Inn is clean inside and out and well maintained. Convenient location Caution! Be sure to inquire about rates if you change any part of your initial reservation. We extended our stay by one night and the rate DOUBLED for that one night. I was NOT advised of that and I was shocked and would not have stayed

We stayed three nights in July. Staff reception was awesome. Breakfast is catered -- they have two people who serve and clean up, its a large breakfast with three hot items and waffles....best motel breakfast i've ever had. Furthermore, its in its own building, with wi fi which is awesome. Parking is plenty including underground if you want to keep your car from sunlight. Rooms are very clean and massive, they also have a fitness center with a bike, treadmill and weight machines and elliptical. Also have a hot tub with jets and a medium size pool to chill in. Very close to things in Orange county. Would definitely return without question. The best motel experience I've ever had for the price. Wi fi was also strong.

Check in process was quick and easy. Our room was great! Very clean,and when house keeping tidied room they "tucked in" my son's stuffed toy for him. Everything smells and looks clean. Snack basket waiting in the room was a great plus! Will be staying here next time we are in the area! Free breakfast, parking, and WIFI!

Wow! I was expecting this to be a regular Best Western. I have stayed at a few crummy hotels recently. The best part was the room was dark, the mattress was super comfortable, the air conditioner was great. It stayed on all night. I have stayed at plenty of places where the air conditioner resets to a higher temp late at night. Nicely decorated, plenty of parking. The breakfast was great. Served in a separate restaurant with actual linens and servers. Pool area was quiet. There is an enclosed hot tub that overlooks the outdoor pool.

Pros: very friendly and helpful front desk clerk, extravagant lobby, clean room with so many extras (welcome baskets of food and travel sized personal items), generous full breakfast, reasonable price in a good location to access other orange county sites Cons: Outdoor pool and jacuzzi had outdoor debris in them, bags of garbage and pizza boxes collected at end of hallway leading to pool

The bed sheet in our room appeared to have feces on it. We called to the front desk immediately where the clerk said, "uh-huh, well, I'll send someone." No apology or room switch. A person appears with a stack of sheets and tells us we must change the bed sheets ourselves. What a disgusting experience.

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times over the last 6 years. It's always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful and breakfast is yummy! It's close to the beach, shopping, and great restaurants!

Front desk was exceptionally helpful. Internet connection information shared at check in, and was easy to access. Furniture just right. Room was sufficiently spacious and comfortable. We like to open windows, so that is a real plus for us even though it does mean some intrusion of outside noise. Breakfast excellent. All in all a positive experience.

Excellent hotel, customer service and comfortable place to lay your head! Will definitely recommend this hotel and stay here when I return for vacations! The breakfast was outstanding, the staff was accommodating and friendly!

There wasn't anything particular to like about this place. Breakfast was very basic. The whole place feels a bit run down. Extremely noisy A/C. When I arrived there were some guys in the back of the parking area (where I had to park) with some big SUV pick ups having a 'party' They were pretty noisy and wasted and made you feel uncomfortable.

My husband and I stayed here for an evening. It was very clean and quiet. Everything was working and the staff was very helpful when needed. The breakfast was very good and a nice variety of foods. This is a well maintained property.

The lobby and grounds of the hotel are very nice. It is close to main roads, but you are a little secluded the way the courtyard is set up. The room itself was nice. Comfy beds and a nice bathroom with nice amenities. The shower pressure was low, and that was a big minus for me, but I am rather particular on shower pressure. Had I been traveling on business, the wifi may have been a little slow, but for my leisure trip it was just fine. Overall, the location is good and our experience was pleasant.

There was a serious conflict between the date we thought we were set to arrive, and the actual arrival date. However, the desk clerk not only honored our reservation, but gave us an upgrade without additional charge. It may be that the upgrade was the only option because of room availability, but she didn't have to do that.

The hotel was clean & well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, the WIFI worked great & the cold breakfast buffet items were supplemented with make them yourself waffles as well as scrambled eggs & a rotating choice of bacon or sausage each day. The location was very convenient for us.

Our stay at the Best Western Newport Mesa Inn was very enjoyable. The employees are helpful, respectful and are willing to go out of their way to help their guests. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable and so are the pillows. The breakfast is very good. The price is reasonable. We plan to stay there again on our next trip to California in October.

We're impressed with this hotel! It needs décor updating in the rooms, but that is truly to only 'negative'. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The staff is courteous and polite. Breakfast, included in the room rate, is 4-stars, if not 5. I've never had this quality of hotel provided breakfast. Two choices of scrambled eggs each day (plain, with ham & cheese, veggie), sausage or bacon, potatoes and a large variety of breads, cereals, pastries. They offer gluten free items.

I've always passed up booking Best Western hotels. I don't know why exactly. Based on positive reviews we booked this one on a recent trip to visit family. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, airy lobby and the welcoming front desk staff. Our room was large, well appointed with fresh fruit and granola bars and lots of bathroom toiletries. The beds were comfy enough. But the highlight was the separate breakfast cafe. It has a European look pretty arched doors with white table cloths, open, high ceilings. It was a lovely way to start our day. We appreciated the sign letting guests know the food was not to be taken from the cafe. A server attended the hot foods area. It is definitely a step up from typical free breakfast venues.

Don't stay here if you want a good nights sleep! This place is your average Best Western hotel. For the money not too bad/not too good. We were put in a double queen room 330, with an adjoining paper thin (but of course locked) door to the room next door room 329. Night of 10th June... And unfortunately there was an _extremely_ loud and noise family next to us in the adjoining room... I'm a family man and it pleases me when people have a good time, but this was just over the top! At 11.30 pm "ish" they were watching a movie extremely loud chatting laughing. We ignored it because they were properly just gonna finish the movie and then go to bed... but guess again. After that they started playing each other's favorite youtube videos. And don't get me wrong here - I'm happy for them that they can have a good time together... but 1.30 in the morning?! Come on.... Went and knocked quietly at their door, was respectfully gonna ask if they could please keep it down just a bit. After knocking they all immediately went quiet... and no one answered the door. Thought that was all good, maybe the knock reminded them that it was late. Jumped back into bed and woke up 10 minutes later to loud laughter and happy people screaming in the room. Sounded like they invented a new game, with running out of the room, SLAMMING the door running down the hallway and then back again. So at 2.30 we had enough, I went down to the gentleman in the reception (and notice here when the family in 329 heard me exit my room everything got shut off and became quiet...) and asked him to take care of the problem.... Thought it was handled by this but... no... Noise kept coming, loud chatter going through the paper thin adjoining door.... At 03.48 this morning after getting NO sleep I called the reception and asked the gentleman there to PLEASE be so kind and ask them to just keep it down a bit... Waited for a bit. Loud chatter and good times continued in the room next door. 5am both my wife and I were so exhausted that we fell a sleep. We are not noise sensitive people, we live right in the heart of Hollywood. Nor did we mind the noise from the road close to the hotel or the loud AC, but that family in the room next door robbed us of our sleep, and the Best Western personal was unable to do anything about the problem. Upon checking out, I asked the receptionist what was going on in there last night. He just apologized and gave me a few bucks off the bill, but that nowhere near a fair compensation. Not at all! I would expect a professional hotel to either move us, give us a full refund or a free night sometime in the future. Best Western if you read this, I'm sure you can find me in the system. Feel free to contact me if you want to better the situation. As the situation is we are never staying in another Best Western. We will notify friends, family and our work places not to use your hotels in the future. I will be sure to share this on the different review platforms where I can find you until you take some responsibility. Bad service.

Very clean hotel, conveniently close to OC fairgrounds, Segerstrom theater and Southcoast Plaza. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very nice, well staffed with good service. We'll be back when we're in the area. Be sure to ask for the 'upgrade'.

It takes a lot to beat my expectations... especially when you're a Best Western PLUS! All the little things you'd expect were there... a clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, a good hot breakfast in a clean, spacious and cheery breakfast room, etc. I was not expecting the crown moldings, the incredibly comfortable over-stuffed chair that was actually was a recliner, the deep soaker tub, even the sanitized remote control next to the slippers and robe all wrapped up and provided for my convenience! The staff was very friendly, offered great suggestions on restaurants and remembered my name, not that I'm anyone special, but they sure made me feel like I was! The pillows were plentiful and comfortable. The bed was wonderful. I found the large desk very useful, as I was on a business trip. There were power outlets everywhere, for us techno types (although none were USBs... bring an adapter). There is a lot of street level parking in the parking lot, plus they also have underground parking. The street level lot gets full pretty quick, so I appreciated the extra parking below. This was my first stay at the Newport Mesa Inn and it was exceptional! This is not a budget hotel, and it is Orange County, CA, so cheap is hard to find. But this stay was a great value! It was a premium experience at a mid-level price. I give the BW Plus Newport Mesa Inn my highest recommendation!

I've stayed here 3 times and it was very pleasant. While each experience was slightly different, overall the staff was excellent from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast crew - helpful and friendly. The room was clean, spacious, well appointed, and filled with amenities. However on one visit, the bed linen and cover were rough to the touch and that slightly effected my sleep comfort. On my last visit, (May, 2017) the A/C compressor was too loud and woke me several times. An added plus is the full breakfast. The area is good and the staff consistently excellent-polite and helpful. My son reports that his hot tub experience was excellent. Never tried the pool but I am looking forward to it on my next visit. Parking is quite ample and the Inn is well-located in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area. I am a Best Western Diamond Select Rewards member and I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was our 10th or so stay at this place. I have not yet had an issue, and have always felt welcome. Convenient location, quiet and safe. We have had to stay elsewhere a couple times when they were booked, and found no comparison. I purposely never give 5 full stars, but these folks well deserve it. Also, best breakfast in town!

Excellent is not sufficient to describe this hotel. The property, staff, food, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE were exceptional, genuine and REAL! We will definitely come back to this hotel, when in the region.

Room comfortable a King size room to rear of property, had microwave, refrigerator, also in room safe a bonus for passports, electrical items etc. Air con unit very noisy, could hear planes from airport when unit was switched off. Room furniture a little dated. Pool area small with six bed and three tables saw very few guests using area. Small gym area spa tub noisy . Reasonable breakfast selection hot food served by staff member. One Web site I came across incorrectly states that this hotel has restaurant and bar.

I had never been in the area before and did not know what to expect. I found that this hotel met all my needs . It is clean, fairly modern and well run with courteous and very helpful staff. I will definitely stay there the next time I am in the area.

Breakfast was SPECTACULAR! And breakfast employees were SUPER helpful and friendly. Clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. Decor needs updating but great overall. Location is great. Just a few miles away from everything you need. Would stay here again!

I actual stayed here April 2016 , I will never stay here again !! The charged my credit card 200 dollars claiming I was smoking weed which I wasn't !!!! My sister room had to be changed in the middle of the night because of bed bugs that attacked on night one .. this was the worst experience I every had at a hotel from mangement down the treated us horrible claiming we bought bed bug to hotel and they would have to ask US to leave the hotel based on if the found anything .. I have never been more humiliated in my life , they really made us feel like we where not worthy to stay at the hotel !!! I highly don't recommend people stay at this hotel !!!!! Stay away pleases don't go . I made complaints to best western headquarters and the told there was nothing they could do about it. It show how much best western cares about their customer which is ZERO !! So once again I highly don't recommend this hotel !!!

This hotel was in a very convenient location, close to freeways, beach, and university. It was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was plenty. The only downfall was that there appeared to be human trafficing going on in the evenings.

This is the hotel of choice for the OC Half Marathon. The hotel is a quick 10 min walk to the bus pickup and finish line. The overall quality of the hotel is nice and comfortable. You will be refreshed with this hotel when you wake up and start your race.

For a getaway weekend, this was a perfect place for my wife and me. The accommodations are spacious and very clean (ask for the business upgrade), the on-site facilities are small but quite adequate and the staff is wonderful. In fact they are doing everything RIGHT that many similar hotels are doing WRONG these days. The beds are extremely comfortable and well-maintained, parking and Wi-Fi are free, and they serve a free full, excellent breakfast each day. My wife and I really love this location - close to but not at the beach (where prices can easily double for the same or lesser room) and you are also very close to the Irvine Spectrum and Newport Beach. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back!

Very clean and modern, convenient location in Orange County. Lovely lobby, quiet room, easy parking and nice breakfast. Great bathroom amenities and shower head. Three separate sinks would make getting ready speedy for everyone.

From the minute we arrived Romi at the front desk greeted us in our native languages. Romi and Mary expedited our checkin process. The room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was hot and tasty. A very nice experience.

Business trip, just one night here, but all in all a fairly nice place. My king room was quite comfortable and larger than many rooms I've stayed in. The closet was huge and I've never seen a hotel closet as big this one was. They could replace the carpets in the hallways because my first impression was they were incredibly dirty, only to figure out it was the color of the carpets, not dirt.

The rooms were nice, clean, and included blankets... which for some reason many hotels don't have anymore. The pool was warm and the hot-tub was enjoyable. The dining area was large. The free breakfast was good. The waffles were fantastic.

Not a Five star hotel but not bad. They have a great breakfast and are within driving distance to great restaurants. The pool and gym are tin. The rooms are clean and have everything you need but nothing fancy. The heating and air are basic models you see in every motel, meaning they are noisy and not very modern. But they work. The beds are very good and there is no smell or anything wierd. Easy access to freeway too.

We really liked this hotel and the staff. Everybody was professional and friendly. Great location and very clean room. We would stay here again if in the Newport Beach area. Breakfast were very good and an upgrade over most.

Clean large room, personable staff, and good breakfast. Also used small pool, small hot tub, and small fitness center. All facilities worked well, even though they are on the small side. Location is close to Newport Beach. Stayed here before a couple years ago and had the same positive experience. They also have covered parking for no extra fee and that is always a plus for me.

Came here for a seminar. I didn't book a room this time. This review is only for the visit. This place is very clean & aesthetic pleasing to the eye. What i dislike is that the cafe is only available to guests. It would be a good idea to charge a fee for non-guests, who are here for a seminar. Luckily, there's a Jack in the Box next door. I like the fact that complimentary coffee is offered at the lobby. Underground parking is a plus too.

So close to the ocean and the trendy shops and food options, stay here and enjoy the pool or spend the day at the beach. You will have a great breakfast, free parking, great welcome amenities and pay a very competitive rate for your experience.

Nice clean place to stay at a reasonable cost. It was conveniently located near the Irvine area where I was working. The access to the freeway and local streets was very good. I did not use the pool or breakfast due to scheduling, but they seemed to be in good order.

Stayed here for a week. Stay was awesome with excellent breakfast. Staff at Reception and Breakfast (especially the waffle!) were very nice. Excellent Service. Used the Gym daily with TV, Aircon and Toilet. Great Basement Car Park. Remember to check in at front before driving down. Need Key to access the door to lift. Wireless on mobile and laptop was great. If you need to use the cable, get about 4m (12 feet) lan cable as the port is away from the table. Will definitely stay here next time.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western. All the stay were awesome and a great breakfast. The staff in the breakfast room were exceptionally nice and I enjoyed conversing with. Nice quiet room and big screen television. And they serve hot cookies in the lobby.

We make it a point to stay at Best Western's in our business and pleasure travels. They have really stepped it up and this particular Best Western Plus was a delightful experience and all the whole stay from beginning to end was a 10 I would stay here again when in the area and have already recommened this hotel to friends.

We live about 2 hrs away in the mountains, amongst the tree tops, overlooking a lake, wonderful lifestyle. But, we miss the ocean and the OC environment. My husband has a lil less than 1 yr to retirements and these getaways this hotel help take some stress out of the daily grind. We adore the location pricing and proximity to beach, fair grounds, shopping and dining choices. The rooms are really great for our taste and comfort. Pretty hotel and landscape. Breakfast is yummy and staff always kind and friendly. Best Western Plus is pretty amazing with the in room amenities, Apples, bottles water and snacks no charge, awesome selection of toiletry items and free parking .

Safe neighborhood, close shopping & restaurants, close to beach & wharf, and great parking. This hotel was clean, friendly, has great amenities, and a great breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were decorated nicely. The room had a coffee make, small fridge, and a microwave. The front desk also sold some snacks, drinks, toiletries, and medication. I will definitely stay here again.

Very warm and friendly staff at front desk and housekeeping was superb. The breakfast was beyond average and the staff was friendly in the dining area. We would definitely return to this hotel again. It was also in a great location near parkways, few miles from beach and near lots of restaurants and shopping. Very very clean hotel.

I liked the location and easy access to the hotel. The place was quiet and well kept. The rooms were very neat and clean. I enjoyed having breakfast and the staff making me feel as though I was at home.

I've got to say this is a very nice clean hotel room. I usually don't write comments, but this room was super clean. It is the first hotel where the bathroom grout was white! Carpet and linens were relatively new and very clean. Big walk in closet too! Loved this room. They serve a full breakfast with linen, real utensils, and plenty of tables. Friendly staff. Four miles to Newport Beach hot spots and close to the fairgrounds and John Wayne airport.

A larger than normal room, comfortable bed, 42" TV, a much better than average breakfast. This is a place I would visit again. Reasonably priced, close to Vanguard and just off CA 55. There are really no negatives on this place. Coffee available anytime too!

BW Plus was a much better value than certain hotels in close proximity that cost 2-3x as much. Room was spacious, good amenities, and very friendly staff. Highly recommended for business or recreational travelers.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Disney first and sea world second. It is a nice clean hotel with spacious rooms. The breakfast finishes at 9.30 sharp and that is a disadvantage specially during vacation. The staff is very helpful and courteous.

Our stay at the Best Western was very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and the staff is friendly. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. They also offer free parking. It was nice having a fitness center with a TV.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels about 300 nights a year, and I was very surprised at the quality of the rooms in this hotel, it has to be one of the best keep secrets. I have only stayed in two other Best Westerns with rooms this nice and one of them was in Germany. great job on this hotel with the rooms and house keeping service.

Stayed here for an education session but was close enough to walk the beach and ate at a fabulous restaurant called Gulfstream, seafood is their special. The hotel is older but clean and comfortable. Prices are higher in this area because you are in the Longbeach area,...Breakfast was a full self serve . Coffee cup refilled often.... Right off freeway, so just jump on and go.

We were in Costa Mesa when the wildfires blocked our way home. It seemed every hotel had increased priced that night, but not the Best Western. The staff was helpful, the room clean. and we got a badly needed breakfast before setting out to find a way home

This hotel is average at best. The room I had was clean and I appreciated the free snacks. The free breakfast was not good at all. Rubbery cold eggs, odd tasting sausage and an automatic toaster that did not toast the first run through and burned on the second run through. There were 3 extremely nice and attentive employees on hand during the breakfast, which helped. The hotel must be in the process of remodeling as the best outside parking was taken by work trucks and the prime inside spaces were full of carpet, trash, furniture, and building materials. All in all it was just average and what I would expect of a best western.

They've remodeled this hotel that's been there for a very long time and it's clean and comfortable and the staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend choosing this hotel for any time of stay in Orange County. We have a special needs son in his 20s and he was very comfortable and happy while we stayed here. The breakfast staff was amazing! So happy and informative and helpful and the food was great????

I have to say that this was among the finest Best Westerns we have stayed at. Water, fruit, and personal items provided. Linens and bedding were excellent. Everything worked and worked well which is not always the case. The staff was very courteous and polite and actually seemed like they cared to have you stay there again. Breakfast was really good, the best so far at B/W. Last stay in Chula Vista was really discouraging. May not go back again. You will enjoy this Hotel.

Our stay at the hotel was great! It looked like they have recently remodeled. Nice and clean. Only thing we didn't like was the sofa sleeper was a very uncomfortable futon. But if you didn't need to use a sofa sleeper, the normal beds were comfortable.

This is one of the better-looking hotels around the area, and the price wasn't too bad. Best Western Plus's are usually pretty decent to stay in and this one was no different. The room was very clean the shower was great and the bed was comfortable. They put out a couple bottles of water a couple apples some chips and a couple breakfast bars in your room. The TV worked good the fridge worked good as well. If I was back in the area I would stay here again.

Well, of course, this is a Best Western, and should be compared with hotels of a similar cost and market positioning. As such, this is a very solid hotel offering. We stayed here one night while visiting the area to attend the Orange County Fair. Following a full fair day we were tired and eager to settle down to a comfortable stay. Check-in at the hotel was quick and friendly, and we soon found we were settled down in a comfortable room. The hotel had provided complementary bottled water and fruit, so we were set. For dinner we found a little hole-in-the-wall Argentinean restaurant about a mile down the street which featured great take-out and bought a bottle of wine from a local Super K market. Our overnight stay was perfect. In the morning we took advantage of their complementary breakfast. The breakfast offering included the expected buffet eggs, fruits, pastries and cereals. There was no omelette bar. I think we got our money's worth out of this stay. Good service, good facility, and good value.

This hotel is great at $149. We paid $208 for several nights. It is not worth it. Old and tired with bad internet and breakfast. The pool area was not great. The only good thing was they had a laundry that was much needed.

Best Western Newport Mesa Inn, Costa Mesa is in a great central location and costs less than staying in a beach city or near family attractions. It provides family friendly value and a great breakfast if you are vacationing in OC. Parking is free and the freeway is close by for easy access to major sightseeing areas.

The Best Western Plus Newport Mesa Inn is clean, plenty of parking and the staff is friendly and quite helpful with directions. We stayed there for a visit to the beach and Knott's Berry Farm. The location is an easy access off the 55. The location offered a hot breakfast, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Called the front desk tonight after painstakingly trying to do work with the Internet. The front desk guy tells me that "iPads and cell phones are unreliable," and "we are close to the airport and that messes up the Internet sometimes." Seriously? I stay in hotels 100-150 nights a year, and rarely is the wifi like this. I tell the guy I just won't stay here anymore, and he says, "ok," and hangs up. So much for being a platinum member, yes?

DON'T EVER BOOK HERE!!!! Horrible customer service. A situation came up and Mary, the lady I spoke to at this hotel, was suppose to issue my refund. It's been almost 2 weeks and my refund hasn't been issued, yet! I spoke with her twice already and every time she said she will return my money, she NEVER did! Other co-workers were helpless and the manager was not in office or available to help. Don't waste your time and money dealing with people who can't do their job right!

This was a great location. The hotel room is huge, it was quiet. My only complaint is the ice machine on the third floor. Every time ice dropped it sounded like a body was being slammed against the wall. The machine looks to be about 100 years old. You might consider changing it.

The Best Western Plus in Costa Mesa is located in a very convenient place to get around the Beach Cities and into the Business areas of Santa Ana and Irvine, right off of highway 55. Food was very good and the Staff was helpful. Good coffee in the Lobby and Starbucks just a short walking distance.

Everyone very friendly. Breakfast was awesome. Wi Fi wasn't the best. Air wasn't the greatest the first night but seemed to be fine the rest of the time. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Needed a place to stay for one night while waiting to meet up with family. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I never sleep well when traveling and probably had the best night of sleep I have ever had in a hotel. The included breakfast was also on the higher end of the typical hotel breakfast. Plenty of hot food that was pretty tasty. All the employees we interacted with - front desk and breakfast buffet - were very friendly and accommodating. The only negative was the underground parking garage was barely lit and super creepy. It desperately needs brighter lights installed.

This was the only place I called that had a room and I'm sure glad I snagged the last room as it was well after midnight and I was driving for a long time. Great rate given by the night kid that was well lower than others places I had called along my way so thank you for that. I was given a two queen on the top floor and I really think I will have to bring the wife any time I come back here as the rooms were much nicer than what I would have imagined from a best western. Very nice bed and little free snacks were appreciated. Only thing I can say was odd was seeing that young kid that checked me in get yelled at during the breakfast. Another guy and I exchanged confused looks as we were the only ones in the breakfast and I didn't stay much longer after that. Food was great though and again very unexpected for a best western. Thanks for the nice night and good service. If I am ever plan a trip to this area I know where we will be staying!

The overall experience was great. The room was large and pleasant, but the walls were somewhat thin. We kept the air conditioner on to block out the noise. The hotel is next to the freeway and there is no view. Breakfast was tasty with lots of variety. This place was a great value and convenient to UCI and Newport Beach. I will stay there on my next visit.

The front desk staff, Room, Breakfast room and staff were exceptionally good. Complimentary breakfast provided is very satisfying and worth. Will definitely recommend. Conveniently located by side of free way.

I'm told that I was updated to a nicer room which had a king sized bed and on the receipt, it's listed as a "business suite". The room was much larger than I expected or needed, but I appreciated it. Large screen TV, a mini-wet bar area,a recliner, microwave and fridge and dresser drawers like one would find in a home. I was in room 311, which is near the rear entrace, but far away enough from the vending machine/ice machine so that noise didn't bother me. I only stayed a night and didn't use the pool (typical 3-5 ft depth), but I used the restaurant for breakfast the last day. I was offered a free buffet ticket and the meal was decent. The facility has a waffle maker, yogurt/fruit station, basic baked goods and a mini hot bar that is served by one of the restaurant staff. Overall, a peaceful night of sleep, my car was safely parked in the parking lot (they also offer an underground garage), and a well served breakfast all for a low price=success!

Very good stay for the price. Did not skimp on room amenities like many hotels today. Bath robes, slippers, emergency shaving kit, etc, etc. Free waters, apples, and snacks....all provided in the room.

Since I rarely flew out of Orange County, I never saw the need to "Park and Fly" out of a local hotel. Now, I don't mind flying out of OC, since I found this hotel! It's centrally located for both flying AND regular business! The shuttle took me to the airport and picked me up as soon as I called, the staff was wonderful and the room was clean and quiet. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and plentiful (if you left hungry, it was your fault). For business travel, there's an area to work, as well as for meetings. I have to be back in OC in 2 weeks, and I'll definitely be staying at this hotel! FYI, while the hotel is located on a main Boulevard, you will NOT hear ANY traffic noise at all. I was very impressed.

Stumbled upon this hotel after a Longhaul flight to LAX. I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were very well appointed and the beds so comfortable. We had a really pleasant stay and did not expect the level of service or quality. I would highly recommend this hotel. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was well stocked and typical for this grade hotel. Very clean and fresh!

My family has celiac disease, which makes our travel more difficult than others. Our room had a gift basket with water and two large apples. At breakfast, they bake their own gluten free flaxseed muffins in separate pans and utensils to keep them safe from cross contamination. They also had honey nut rice chex in its own serving box. They do the extras to exceed expectations. Will come back.

I didn't have great expectations when I made reservations at this hotel. I was totally and pleasantly surprised when we walked into the lobby (late), and was greeted by a smiling personable staff person at the desk. She offered cookies and set us up quickly in our room. When we got to the room, it had been newly remodeled (new carpet smell!) and we were thrilled! The bathroom was so clean, I just couldn't get over the experience. The only down side for some might be the road noise, but it is so constant it is more like a white noise app on our iPad than a disturbance. We slept well, and we slept in without issue. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff are so nice! Parking is easy, staff members are friendly, and the room was clean! It doesn't get any better. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

This hotel is very clean and the staff is exceptional! The restaurant staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I travel a lot on business and have stayed at many dumps in this area, this is the first hotel that had exceeded my expectations! Well Done!

we booked this hotel based on location, price and reputation. major fails include fitness center (broken equipment & none of the usual amenities), internet access (pathetic even with DSL cable - really, who uses DSL anymore), restaurant (awful service & poor food ruined dinner but breakfast was just okay). management is clearly following a hands off attitude and it shows. even something as simple as having hot water in the lobby for the tea provided was missing. overall, this place has put BW in jeopardy in all our future travel plans.

This is a nice hotel. Obviously it is not a 4 or 5 star. But they work hard to help make it close to that. Staff is friendly and works hard. The beds are comfortable. The breakfasts are good and it was mostly quiet. However, it is positioned in a tougher area. Vacant lots next door. Motels nearby. So, the crowd that gathers isn't really inviting. However, this is a nice hotel that is close to many areas. I would recommend it for a family or a couple wanting to save some yet still have a decent room.

I was looking for a hotel $100-$125 a night near UCI including parking, wifi, and breakfast. This was the best option I found and we enjoyed our stay. The room and public areas were all spotless and service was great. The room had all the standard amenities plus a mini fridge. The free breakfast was above average. The room design was not ideal in that there is no external vanity area - shower, toilet, and vanity are all in one room. The bathroom light switch is also tied to the fan so no light without a noisy fan. Pool was small but area and chairs were nicer than expected. Overall we were pleased and would stay again.

It's not special but everything works well and is spotless. I didn't try the restaurant but the menu looked quite good. I stayed prior to a meeting at UC Irvine and would come back because of the convenience and predictable experience.

Hotel and breakfast staff members were very accommodating. The full breakfast offered variety and was very tasty. We especially enjoyed the use of the sauna after an outing and appreciated the evening cookies with a cup of tea.

Only minutes away from John Wayne airport, a great hotel within my budget. It's really not necessary to pay $225 a night when other places such as this offer everything I needed. Breakfast staff is wonderful! they clear the plates and serve you 2 different varieties of eggs and meat each day. Always greeted with a smile and a Good Morning. greeting. Clean and comfortable.

I stay at this location often and I always get great service. I have never had a problem with the amenities or staff or anything. I highly recommend it. It is in a good location. Not too far from Disneyland, Knotts Berry and Universal. Also a Lot of shopping options nearby.

The hotel is very clean and the employees are excellent. We had trouble with internet. Also, there was a couple of stacks of obscene - politically oriented magazines on the table in the lobby. We have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed our stay. But I am disturbed about the fact that the OC Weekly magazine with a very offensive cover was on prominent display in the lobby.

If you are attending an event at the fairgrounds, this is your place. If you are not, those events can get in the way of your getting a quiet night's sleep or catch you up in a detour. Helicopters are common. If you sleep with the window open, it is noisy at 95% of the rooms. 'Restaurant' is only open 5:30 to 8:30 and not at all on the weekends (except for breakfast). Comfortable rooms.

This BW is the best hotel I ever visited so far. The room is so nice. They even provided a welcome fruit basket, wow. It had 2 water bottles, 2 apples, 2 granola bars, and one Fritos chip. The room has a desk that has a Ethernet port and outlet for your cell charger—someone was thinking. Their morning breakfast is similar to other BW, but their staffs were more helpful—such good service. I wonder all BW PLUS like this? Only CON, these people didn't get the word, after cleaning the carpet you should open the window and turn on the A/C to ventilate the smell so customer like me don't have to suffer with the carpet cleaner smell. I would recommend that BW replace their shower spout/head and hangers because it's old.

Hello again Travelers,This time I would like to offer a wonderful, relaxful visit to the Beach city of Costa Mesa,Calif.I just had an Awesome Positive Wonderful Awesome Weekend at The Best Western located at 2642 Newport Ave right off the 55 fwy, ( Newport Ave) runs alongside the 55 Fwy in Costa Mesa Calif.,I arrived mid afternoon and was greeted by a very friendly ,good personality ,warm ,Glad to see you,Best Western front desk clerk, (The Best Western )looks better there instead of those online pictures,after checking in I proceeded to my room on the second floor, you may either climb the stairs or take the elevator,the hotels decor was in very good taste,not gaudy like the Brand X hotels we all have been stuck at,My room was Awesome, large and SPACIOUS,tastefully decorated,it came with a writing table/computer, a separate table with chairs for for just about anything you may use it for,the bed was WOWEEEEEE! very nice looking and ohhh sooooooo comfortable slept like a baby,plenty of blankets and comfortable pilliws,the bathroom was large and very functional with a big bathtub, shower,two sinks,lots of soaps,shampoos, conditioners, body lotions,mouth. Wash,shower cap,now that's in the bathroom Now!! This was the 4th time we stayed here at this BW. I like this chain and have had good previous experiences at this location. Check in and check out were quick and the lobby staff was very friendly and professional. Our room deal included free breakfast buffet and the food was actually pretty decent - good staff here too. The room was just kind of a bummer. Everything worked but it felt like this place is in need of an update. All of the drawers were hard to open, and the handle kept popping off of one of them. Wallpaper seemed to be peeling off of every corner, especially in the bathroom. Several spots on closet and bathroom walls looked as if large holes had been repaired, poorly, under the wallpaper. There was a musty smell coming from the A/C unit. Fit and finish were just not great, as if current ownership is waiting too long to make updates. Felt old, which made it feel dirty, even if it was not. But the bed was very comfortable. Parking lot is way too small. If you get here late you're probably out of luck. For the price - this is one of the more affordable places around Costa Mesa - maybe I just got what I paid for. I'd probably stay here again based on price but it would be nice to see them invest a bit and refresh the rooms. Everything else was fine, except for the parking lot. I probably would not be so critical of the room if previous stays had not been better.

This is a great hotel and very much what we have come to expect from Best Western properties. I booked online . Check in was fast, efficient . The staff at the desk were Cody and Mellisa and they both were very helpful. I had problems hooking up to the hotel internet and they solved the problem quickly. We went to the restaurant onsite for supper. They serve the free hot breakfast in the same room in the mornings. We wondered if we had made a mistake as there was no one but us. Our server Samantha was very attentive though and we were not disappointed. It was a bit slow and not a lot of selection but food was good and we enjoyed it. The next morning when we went to the free breakfast we were once again greeted by Samantha. 3 other people were working and greeted each guest personally and explained where everything was. this was a wonderful hot breakfast. We had tablecloths with fresh flowers and great service.

Large room, dated decor, weak breakfast, friendly staff. Not as high quality as other Best Western Plus I have stayed at, but it was clean and the room was large enough. A little expensive for the quality of rooms and breakfast. At least they had a nice TV in the room, but the cables? They had nothing in the service fridge.

It is such a convenient location to Vanguard University, shopping, the beach, and Disneyland. A very nice facility. Love the warm breakfast. The parking is great - always a place. The decor is lovely - very comfortable feel. The mattress is was nice. I had a great nights sleep!

This is a good family hotel. Friendly helpful staff, clean Quiet rooms, very good breakfast buffet with excellent welcoming staff. Ask for room at back, away from highway noise. Underground parking is nice option.

The front desk was friendly, the rooms large BUT very dated. The parking is awful as they spots were painted too close. Be prepared to receive a door ding. Didn't have breakfast as I had to catch an early flight. I know BW are not the greatest but this one fell short.

After a grueling 4 days doing an exhibition at the Las Vegas convention Center we took ourselves off to visit our daughter in LA so decided to all go to Newport Beach for the weekend and stay over. Lots of hotels to chose from but Best Western Plus looked like it would do nicely. It certainly did, only a short 5-7 minutes from the beach area and easy striking distance to other interesting areas (Orange Old Town, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach). The hotel entrance easy to access, the reception area open airy and in good condition. Check-in hassle free, rooms: our room was excellent, spacious, well appointed and in great condition with a few neat thoughtful additions; fresh fruit, snacks, and a good selection of teas and coffee, real mugs!! not jut paper cups, clean bagged remote control. All the usual toiletries but in plentiful supply, towels too. House keeping staff (always overlooked as unimportant) were friendly polite and helpful an asset to the owners. All in all our stay was most enjoyable we would certainly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Thank you. Alan Dickson

Our stay was wonderfully nice and friendly and the accommodations was More than we expected a 5 Star Hotel with all the pool, spa, gym, parking with Easy. Front management excellent. Free coffee, cookies, computers about anything You asked for they would assist you finding. Cafe serving breakfast and lunch. Rooms great and maids could do enough to help. They served the best breakfast at a hotel that we have had for years!!! Usually it is what you only find at a high end hotel. Hotel room nice and good value and location. We had a very quiet room. Very helpful staff.

this is a very convenient location for the business I have to conduct in the morning. The location is easy on and off the freeway which makes the area very enjoyable and the restaurant selection very good and not too far from the Best Western Motel. It is also nice that there is a goodie basket in the room with water, apples and nut bars.

We had hair in our tub. The hardware around the shower was falling off. They cleaned carpets past check in. And there was no towels around the pool/hot tub. The main good thing is the breakfast. The breakfast staff was so kind and the food was yummy!

This is my new go-to when doing business in the OC. Of the lower cost options in the area this one checks off all the boxes: safe, quiet newly remodeled room, WiFi, excellent soft goods and a hot breakfast. Some of the other options are great if you missed being an extra in a Fellini movie book a room at Extended Stay or Ramada and you can live the dream.

The Best Western Newport Mesa Inn had everything we've been accustomed to expect from Best Western – a clean, comfortable room, a good, hot breakfast selection and courteous service. The king room was much larger than average, with a sofa, coffee table, desk and dresser. We enjoyed the novel selection of pastries and the type of meat and scrambled eggs varied daily. The only downside was the breakfast room did not have enough seating to accommodate everyone on Sunday morning because they had a meeting in the adjacent room. We would stay here again if we're back in the area.

A surprising jewel in Costa Mesa! We were only there for a night on our way back home from Cambria, but looking forward to coming back for a longer stay next time. Clean, quiet, and lots of ammeneties! Make sure to check out Urban Greens! Wonderful food by wonderful women ?

I always stay at Best Westerns because one can be assured of exceptionally clean accommodations, good beds, free wifi and parking and almost always breakfast is included. The Newport Mesa Inn was no exception and I very much enjoyed my stay. The staff were courteous and very accommodating. Also, there's a restaurant attached for light dinners - the chicken, pear and feta salad was excellent and service was welcoming.

Clean. Easy access, nesr the Fair grounds, great value. I loved the bed,,like sleeping on a cloud. We had new carpting in our room. Rely big screen tv too. Free bottle water and apples in the room refrigerator too, coffee maker as well. The linen towels were sooo soft. Breakfast included, but the food was less than savory. Eggs cold and hard, potatoes awful. Make your own waffles, cereals and toast, juices n coffee. Clean dining room, friendly attendant.

This is a typical upscale Best Western. Though it is just off the freeway and not far from the airport, the location is pretty quiet. The rooms are nice. Excellent bed. Great amenities in the rooms. They are remodeling. I was in an older room, but it was still very nice.

The hotel is very nice and great for business travelers. The property is located just off the highway and the grounds are nothing special. However, this is clearly reflected in the much cheaper price compared to other downtown Irvine hotels and the rooms and facilities were much nicer than I expected. Very comfortable bed, large room and bathroom, etc.

If you want a clean comfortable place to stay, this is an excellent choice. It is freeway accessible within minutes. Reception was courteous and prompt. The room was spacious with a desk area, sofa, credenza and more than enough electrical outlets for recharging electronics. There was a welcome basket with 2 bottles of water, 2 large apples and 2 energy bars - all complimentary. The bed was comfortable with a mix of large firm and soft pillows. The AC/heat unit is in the wall and it took several adjustment to get the desired temperature. The bathroom area included a coffee maker (read the instructins), small refrigerator,a large walk-in closet ,a large safe and plenty of hangers. There vanity and sink area is adequate for one person at a time. The toilet and bathtub are in an adjacent area and is separated from the rest of the room by a door. It is a little tight. The water is very hot so exercise caution. The amenities included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face and bath soap and body wash and lotion. Parking, a simple but nutritious breakfast (scrambled eggs, very fresh fruit, meats, breads, cereals, yogurt and beverages). Wi-Fi and parking are complimentary. All in all an excellentplace to stay on any budget and an excellent value.

Nice greeting on arrival, changed rooms for my father and mother in law to the ground floor because of their age. Rooms are spacious and perfectly adequate for our stay. Coffee and water at reception is a nice touch. Breakfast is great, eggs, bacon, juices, cereals Waffles, Toast all you need to set you up for the day. Restaurant ladies are really welcoming and friendly.

We stayed one night to break up the drive home from vacation. Surprised to find a friendly, helpful staff, and well maintained property. Free breakfast was above average with excellent service. Breakfast room was larger than most in similar motels. Good value for the dollar mid-week. The motel is very close to the Orange County Fair grounds and a great place for anyone attending events at that location.

Stayed two nights on a business trip. Very close to John Wayne Airport. Also, close to restaurants within a couple of miles. Rooms were clean, coffee maker, and not noisy. Free breakfast included many choices to have plenty to eat.

The management needs customer service and customer satisfaction training. The rooms furniture needs updating and the linens on the bed are coarse and need to be replaced with a high quality and thread count.

Spent two nights recently at the BW Newport Mesa Inn. From my first phone call, to check out, the employees were top notch. Room with two queen beds was spotless. Appreciate the set up with not only a sink in the bathroom, but one outside as well. Especially with two women! The small restaurant not only had provided a hot breakfast (included with room), which include eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereal, waffles, toast, muffins, etc. but also dinner. We had room service two nights and ordered the chicken quesadilla and tacos. For the money it was quite tasty and so convenient. Oh and the fresh baked cookies were delicious. And the beds and pillows (4) were super comfy! I didn't wake up at all both nights...which is super unusual for me! Free wifi connected easily and had no problems. Bath soaps/shampoos were top notch. Free, underground parking available was great parking right next to the elevator. ALL the employees, both at the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and attentive! If I have the occasion to visit the area again, I won't hesitate to stay at the BW Newport Mesa!

It was a nice stay. It was quiet. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. A server is there to serve you the hot breakfast. Everything else is serve yourself. Comfortable sleep. The room has two sinks, one before the restroom and one in the restroom, which was nice.

I spent three nights here recently and was a bit concerned when my boss booked this for me. My past experiences with various BW properties was mixed. This one stands out with larger rooms, reasonably quiet too. The breakfast cafe served various options every day and they were a pleasant surprise. It's about 5 miles from SNA airport and about 30 minutes from Irvine.

We just needed a room near the airport.Got a nice online price and frankly was not expecting much. Wow! Was blown away by the hotel, room & location. Luxurious, comfortable room... impeccably clean and the staff was most friendly. Another bright spot was the breakfast and the in-room snack basket. Don't pass this one up

I should have realized when neither of the TWO toilet paper holders actually had a holder - the paper core was stuffed onto the device, and as soon as you try to tear off paper, the entire roll rolls away...for two holders. Next, I realized a needed to wipe down the bathroom counter because it still had gunk from the prior guests...then I began to notice too many other things to count...needless to say, we won't stay again.

Traveled to Cali again for appt at UCI Med Center and decided to stay closer to the beach and the airport. When I drove up to this place I seriously wasn't sure, especially traveling alone, but my fears were averted upon entering and receiving the warm greeting from Cody at the front desk. The place was very clean, which extended to the rooms. My room even smelled clean. (I HATE funky smell, from funk, weird cleaners or otherwise.) I also had fresh apples, FREE bottled water and fruit and nut bars waiting for me in my room. The hotel offers free on demand TV and movies, and I got to catch up on Insurgent, which I hadn't seen yet. Breakast was included and offered cereals, hot food like belgian waffles, potatoes, bacon, eggs, pastries, coffee, teas, juices. The place was also full by the day after I arrived, so they must be doing something right! I made it to UCI in about 15 to 20 minutes, down to the beach in about 7 to 10, and to the airport in about 8. That. Was. Awesome. Wouldn't you know it? "Cody" was there to check me out and bid me adieu when I left. This is a hidden gem.

Everything at the hotel is awesome.... Everyone was really helpful and went out of their way to make the stay really nice... I needed to be at the airport at 5:30 am their Shuttle starts running at like 8 and they had someone come in just for me to make sure I made it...... The restaurant on the other hand is lacking management I walked in stood there for a few minutes no one showed up so I took a stroll into the kitchen looking for someone.... finally got seated and took extra long to get my food.... The food wasn't bad they just need someone that can run the place....

We stayed overnight to attend an event close by. Check in was very pleasant. Internet and breakfast was included. Internet was very good but breakfast was a little disappointing because the eggs were cold and they were out of bacon and sausage. Overall, our stay was pleasant. The room had a comfortable recliner chair which is a treat at a hotel. The freeway is very close and you can hear some noise but didn't affect sleep.

Staff was super friendly. Both are rooms were very clean and updated. The beds were comfortable and overall a very nice hotel, especially for the price. Convieniently located, unless you must be on the beach.,

We enjoyed another socal weekend at the Costa Mesa BW. The bathroom appears to have been redone recently. We find the location ideal, as we had access to the coast (Balboa Island) and had a wonderful lunch in Huntington Beach on Sunday. The hotel is clean and the staff are professional and made our stay a welcome experience.

Best hotel on our road trip!!! The location was magnificent. The hotel itself was spectacularly appointed. The food in the attached restaurant was extremely good. Such a great value. We highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed!

Despite being located right on a busy road it is quiet inside. Place was clean, appeared freshly painted and generally well kept. The room came with a full breakfast but did not have time to take advantage so can't comment on it. There was coffee in the lobby though. Overall good experience.

Decent hotel for the price. Noise not to bad. Room and bed was comfortable. Nice neighborhood with food and convenience stores close. I don,t know why trip advisor wants wants me to write a book. just keep it short and simple.

We spent a total of 7 nights here. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a smoking area outside the lobby with chairs. The landscaping was nice. The staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel is near the airport but not too close. It is centrally located to Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. If you don't want to be on the beach or in the other high priced areas, it is a good location.

Work takes me everywhere from east to west and I was on the west coast in Newport Beach and stumbled upon a quiet Hotel located on Newport blvd. The location was exactly what I was looking for. I was hesitant at first and decided to look around. I struck up a conversation with a local waitress from the restaurant. To my surprise she was the chef in the restaurant that was adjacent. She knew so much about the hotel that you would have thought she owned it. I was so impressed with her opinion of the hotel that I decided to stay. The hotel was exactly what she described. Excellent service from the front desk to the room was outstanding. The next day I had a wonderful breakfast and got the chance to thank her. Make sure to ask for Kathleen if you get the chance. I recommend this hotel absolutely for price and the quality service. Hands down the best bargain for business and most definitely for a vacation.

The room was ok. Bed ok. TV was big. Refrigerator worked. Window opened. Shower was a hard straight shot. Not pleasant. Hotel provided shampoo and conditioners terrible. "Free" breakfast terrible. I mean really bad. Plus they rationed the portions of the powdered eggs. Hotel is expensive.

I stayed in this hotel for a business trip and I was a little worried as I'd never stayed in a Best Western hotel and thought it a budget property. Since the reviews were good on Trip Advisor, I gave it a try and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the room was great. Lots of room and tasteful decoration along with a big comfy chair. There was also a fridge and microwave as well as a coffee maker in the room. A hot breakfast is included in your meal and there was AMPLE food for a breakfast that would certainly tide you over to supper!! I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel...great staff...food not so good. The waitress was very helpful. She did everything but cook the food. Hopefully on our next stay the food will improve. Perfect location. Close to shops and not to far from the beaches.

I needed a place near the golf course I was to play and being a frequent Best Western customer, I found this Best Western Newport Mesa Inn. Never stayed there before so as always with a new place wondering how it would be. To my surprise it was a very good choice as the room was great and the local was tremendous. I will stay there again for sure :-)

Good property near the food and shopping in Costa Mesa. Also not far from the harbor in Newport Beach. We liked the people and the ambiance. Room was above average and great for our needs. Plan to go out to eat and not at their restaurant, there are lots of choices within three miles or so.

I stayed at a few best westerns and this one is really at the top - the place is clean management actually cares about what you say the pool area is just lovely and relaxing and the rooms are very large and the bed and pillows are super comfortable . I especially enjoyed the amazing breakfast that the served which has everything I could want including fresh pastries and sausage and eggs . I liked going there in the evening to have a reasonably priced meal in their attached café . I'm a huge fan of how quiet the place is with no traffic noise and there's a massive closet you can just throw all your stuff in . I will definitely be coming back

Clean hotel and easy to get to John Wayne Airport . Great customer services. Asked for a microwave in are room and one was brought up right away. Plenty to eat at the hot breakfast. Easy on and off the 55 hwy not to far away from the beach.

Friendly, helpful staff. Beds very comfortable, Breakfast outstanding. Spacious room with recliner. Telephone at desk would be helpful: also more outlets at desk. Air conditioner worked well and not noisy.

Superb service with a smile. The room was very clean and tidy. We were out on business and every night we were so happy to come back to beautiful hotel with excellence all around us. We were very impressed with the complimentary breakfast every morning. The setup was very classy with a surprisingly delicious meal. I suggest the waffles. We met a fantastic group of people there. Jamie was serving us behind the cookers and Kathleen was cruising around making sure that everything was cleared off. Overall we think Best Western plus is by far one of the best hotels for the buck we have ever stayed at. Thanks again to all the staff.

Polite and helpful staff; quiet and clean and nicely appointed rooms, and really a stand-out Best Western. Very clean pool and whirlpool, and the in-room additional amenities were both a surprise and quite a pleasant welcoming (this was a premium room).

Beds are comfortable, rooms are super clean, staff is professional and attentive, breakfast is complimentary and terrific! And the best coffee I have ever had in a hotel - it beats Starbucks in my opinion. While it is near a highway and on a fairly major road, it was quiet. Even received a thank you from manager Naj thanking me for completing the Best Western survey! And the location was perfect for me! Just be careful and don't get on that Highway 73 - if you forget to pay the toll when you return home, the fine could be as high as $900!!!

We were looking for a place on the beach in Newport Beach and came up empty, so we went a little further inland to Costa Mesa. Best Western has never appealed to us but we were anxious to check in somewhere. When we walked into the lobby we were immediately impressed. The front desk service was great, the facility was beautiful and our room was very nice. Free parking and an outstanding free breakfast were nice features too. The location was the only minor negative, but overall it was great. I even joined their loyalty program, so you know I plan to stay at another Best Western.

Excellent value/ clean rooms/ great complimentary breakfast, Great location if you plan to be in the area! We have stayed here for at least five times and want to convey our appreciation to the staff at this location.

Stayed here for one night. Checkin was easy, they do charge extra for a roll along bed. Beds will take two people each. Rooms clean and tidy. Shower very good. Pool didn't look as good as in the pictures. Breakfast ok cooked section not brilliant but cold section ok. Highlight of the stay was the waffle maker at breakfast.

Lovely appearance inside and out. Well maintained. Good customer service was allowed to check in 2 hours prior to actual check in time. Front desk was very accommodating. Great value for the money, free airport shuttle and great full hot breakfast. Was able to save money.

Was a guest the night before a flight out of John Wayne Airport, which is my favorite SoCal airport, by far. This hotel served that function well. The hotel rooms are priced reasonably for the value, and it is well located
