My husband and I stayed at Hotel Rafaello for 2 nights before our cruise. The hotel is charming and on a quiet street within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged private transportation to/from the airport and the cruise port. The room was clean and typical size for city hotel. Bed was very comfortable and nice size bathroom. The rooftop bar was a fun spot to grab a drink with a view. Location was perfect. We were able to walk to many highlights of Rome. Good value. I will definitely stay here again if I return.

Spent 4 nights at Hotel Raffaello and found everything to be 5 star. The staff were courteous and helpful. Location was within walking distance to several attractions. The service and selction of food for the breakfast was good and varied. Would definitely book again or recommend it.

I am not familiar with Rome. I reserved through Best Western since we've been pleased with their hotels. It was definitely a good choice. This is a typical European hotel that has been upgraded to Best Westerns standards. We were delayed a day in our arrival however the staff was very helpful when I called and had our room ready when we arrived. There is a small elevator. The staff took our bags to the room so we wouldn't struggle with them. The room was small but comfortable. My converter would not fit their outlets, so they supplied a converter for me. We did not have a chance to use their dining facility or their rooftop cocktail lounge. Good restaurants were a walkable distance. The staff was very helpful in calling a cab for us in the mornings so we could get to our tours on time. The staff was friendly and fluent in English which was very helpful. Thank you everyone at the Hotel Raffaello. You made our stay in Rome a delight!

Outstanding in all levels. Location of hotel placed us within a 15 minute walk to many key sites (Colleseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, etc.) and dozens of well rated restaurants (and gelato and bars). Hotel was a great find. Rooms were comfortable, A/C worked well, free strong WiFi, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was extensive, complete with coffee to order. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Decent experience. 4 day stay. Very convenient Monti neighborhood. Not so little Pam grocery store right next door. Still working on the double booking charge. But that shouldn't affect this review. Pleasantly surprised how cool the room was considering how hot Rome was when I arrived and the rules on how how cool an establishment can keep a place only 15° below the outside temperature. I even had to turn the temperature up a few times. The mini bar was stocked with their beverages, so hard to keep any of my own items. And it is on the floor, fairly small and could be colder. There is a kettle with some coffee and tea samples I didn't try. My room was on the 2nd floor, king bed, comfortable. A little desk and chair. Clean room. Pictures can show more than I can describe. There apparently is a new service charge of 30€ besides the daily city charge of 7.50€. It was not mentioned at booking so I declined to accept the charge. Oh, the electric outlets- I'm not sure why but it took forever with the micro USB for my phone and tablet. My euro adapter wasn't any better. I can't describe the breakfast, I got a better deal by opting out. They have a little offering at the entrance of either coffee or tea and a pastry or cookie in the early morning. There was also pastry occasionally in the afternoon. I guess whatever was left over.

This was our 3rd visit to Hotel Raffaello, but our first visit in about 12 years, and I can say it was every bit as good as before, if not better. It is perfectly situated in a quiet street just off Via Cavour, and close to Termini Station, the Colosseum, Forum, Repubblica, the Metro, etc, and even close to a children's playground. We had booked 3 rooms for our family and the baby cot was set up in the one room as requested. Check in was very easy and the staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations with one floor closed off, and we were fortunate to be in the newly renovated rooms. Everything about the rooms was amazing (although we did miss the "old charm" from the previous rooms a little bit 😜). The bathrooms are large by Rome standards and well equipped with all products required and have a huge walk-in shower with good water pressure, and the beds were very comfortable. There was fantastic air-con which helped as we were in Rome in the heat wave and the wi-fi and TV channels were excellent too. Breakfast was of a high standard with a continental buffet including the most delicious freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts, eggs, bacon, sausage, breads and pastries. There is also a coffee and cake station in reception available at all hours. Unfortunately we had an early train to catch on our last day so we missed breakfast, but when I mentioned it on their survey I was immediately contacted by the hotel to apologize and explain that we could have asked for a packed breakfast. I appreciate that they took the time to reply to me, and I will know for next time. I would highly recommend Hotel Raffaello for people staying in Rome as it is a high quality hotel and still fairly reasonable priced. Thank you.

This hotel is wonderful. The beds were comfortable. The staff is friendly. The bar at the top has great service. Anoosh is kind and helpful. It's easy to walk anywhere from here. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here. We would definitely come back.

This hotel was a delight. The front desk staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. They all spoke English, which was a big help to this non-Italian speaker. Our room was well appointed, pretty, and clean. We had a King Standard Room and there was plenty of room for our 2 weeks worth of luggage for 2 people. Breakfast was delicious, albeit a little expensive. The location was great. Easy walking distance of Santa Maria Maggiore.

This was our first time in Rome. This location was perfect as it was very central to everything we wanted to see. Front desk was helpful and friendly everyday. Breakfast (+$) was amazing and a special thank you to Flavia for her friendly service. Room was very comfortable but our favorite part was spending time at the rooftop bar every night. Great place to just relax and enjoy the view. Thank you to Nadia & Anush for the great service and for the recommendations. We would definitely come here again.

We had a twin room that overlooked the side street, so it was very quiet. Pros: - comfortable beds and pillows - amenities in the room - amazing breakfast: eggs, bacon, pastries, cereals, toasts, fruits, yogourts, etc. - very kind , helpful and attentive staff, some were able to speak French - nice neighbourhood: very quiet street, 15 min walk from Colosseum, 5 min walk to Cavour metro, 12 min walk to Termini station - lots of shops and restaurants close to the hotel Cons: - can be a bit difficult to get in the shower if you have mobility issues, since you need to lift your leg high to get into the shower - no fixed showerhead, and to take a shower I had to be very careful not to leak water since the glass panel separing the shower from bathroom was not tightly sealed I would stay here again.

The hotel was comfortable, clean and neat. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel room was the size of a standard Best Western hotel you would find in the United States. The shower was small and the rain shower style shower head was pretty much useless and leaked out the top. There was no safe in the room. The location was somewhat conveniently located to the attractions. The metro and train stations were within 15 minutes' walk. There was a nice selection of food for breakfast (Keep in mind breakfast is not free, can be added to your reservation at time of booking or play by day). The hotel had free espresso and pastries in the lobby during the day.

Very nice affordable hotel about a mile from the Colosseum and near the bus stop from the hop on hop off bus. Most Rooms have been refurbished and are quite comfortable and well maintained. The terrace rooms were being refurbished so we had a standard king bed room for 3 days. The breakfast was good but mostly sweets, with some cereal and eggs and toast available as well as your normal European breakfast favorites. Service was very friendly and good. You need to bring converters for the outlets for Americans but the front desk will lend you a couple for free. No real view because of location on a small street but that was expected because of the more reasonable price of the hotel. I would surely recommend to anyone going to Rome and not wanting to pay the high end hotel prices.

We happily returned to the Rafael For five nights. We continue to really like the location, the staff, the rooms, and even the breakfast. My previous complaints about no conditioner, and no toilet paper were no longer valid. The hotel rooms and bathrooms have been upgraded. In the bathrooms we found fluffy towels, lots of light, and ample amenities. Hotel staff were even able to direct us on use of public transportation, including how to get to Tivoli using trains and buses. We will continue to use this hotel as our base in Rome.

Room was spotless and included all the basic amenities - soap, shampoo, body wash, kettle. Shower pressure was high and water hot. Staff were excellent, polite and provided quick services. Now onto one of the locks to any man's heart - food... The breakfast buffet was great, coffees were available and a wide variety of foods. They typically had four hot foots, which rotated. Examples include chicken strips, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages. Cereals, fruits, fruit salad, plums in syrup, peaches, yoghurts, pancakes, pastries, cakes which rotated. Examples include sponge cake with chocolate filling, orange cake, blueberry cake, carrot cake (these also rotated). It is close to several key destinations, however Rome is quite vast, so it's impossible to be close to All of them. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Apologies for the long food talk, I hadn't seen a detailed review of it when booking myself.

Our stay at the San Raffaello was simply divine. The location (an easy walk from the Roma Termini) was exactly what we needed and was within walk or train rides to virtually all parts of the city. There are plenty of fun bistros in the area as well. The highlight, by far, was the superior hospitality we received by both the front desk staff and the breakfast team. Speaking of breakfast ... don't skip the most important meal of the day. It'll be worth every Euro.

The hotel is very good. I chose it based on the location and the price, and I was satisfied with the value. The single room was small, but that's not unusual in Europe. The room fit my needs perfectly. At check-in the gentleman at the desk mentioned that when I check-out I will be able to include a percentage of the total to tip the staff and that it is optional. T wasn't sure I understand correctly. I have never heard of such a thing, and I've travelled quite a bit. Even in the US where people expect a tip for pouring a cup of coffee, I have never been asked to add a tip for the staff when checking out of a hotel. I spent 3 nights there, and based on my stay I have no complaints. When I checked out, the woman asked if I wanted to add an optional percentage to tip the staff. I said no. To be fair, she didn't blink. She finished checking me out, gave me my receipt and asked whether I wanted to store my bag for a bit before heading to the airport. I was not made to feel at all uncomfortable because I didn't add the tip. However, I felt strange about it. It bothers me enough that I am writing about it now. The tipping "option" leaves an awkward final impression. It's really a horrible policy and without it, I would recommend the hotel wholeheartedly. But as long as they continue with the police, I would only recommend the hotel if you are aware of it in advance and are ok with it.

The reception staff were the most helpful & nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were well appointed. Breakfasts offered a great variety. Would definitely stay here again.

The service from start to finish was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. My experience at the hotel was good. I would highly recommend for anyone to stay there. The rooms were comfortable very clean and the bed very comfortable to sleep in overall i cant fault this hotel

Wonderful service, clean and peaceful hotel. As a mid-priced hotel, the quality was surprisingly high. We enjoyed it. For family with teenagers, just perfect location and safe hotel to stay. Good breakfast. Reastaurants close.

It was our first time in Rome, and after doing research on where to stay for first timers, Monti is the place that kept coming up. Monti worked well for us as we arrived by train and Monti is close to Rome Termini. After narrowing down the area to stay at, it was time to find the hotel in Monti that fit our budget and also our expectations. We decided on Hotel Raffaello and we are glad we did so. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we will stay here again, and we have already recommended this hotel to friends and family. 2 of our friends, who are Roman, and live on the outskirts of Rome, visited us at the hotel, and they were surprised that we found such a gem, in such a great location. I figure that as Romans they know what they are talking about. We enjoyed, as a couple, a 4-night stay at the end of September. The location of the hotel is central and close to local businesses and restaurants, and it is not far from the Colosseum (10 minute walk). Other points of interest are a little further (about 30+ minutes to the Pantheon, for example) but navigable on foot if you enjoy walking, as we do. Important to note that the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the train station. The area is also safe and quiet. Wander the many narrow streets in the area and try some of the local eateries or shops. It's a little less busy than the bigger touristy areas. There are many nice restaurants/bars/coffee shops in the area. There is a small, well stocked, supermarket next door. As a nice surprise, we were assigned a room that had 2 independent bedrooms in one, separated by a door: one bedroom with a king bed, and the other bedroom with 2 twin beds. Needless to say, we had all the space you can wish for. The room was well maintained, with a traditional decor. Most importantly, it was CLEAN. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were good, thick and plenty; hence we slept great. The bathroom looked to be relatively newly refurbished. It was a little tight- to be expected considering the age of the city and building - but nothing that took away from the overall satisfaction. Yet, the bathroom had all the comforts you need. Perhaps a little more counter space would come handy, again understandable for the age of the building. Air conditioning worked well and was quiet, and we didn't hear much from any guests in the nearby rooms nor from the outside. Street noise, with the windows open, is not bad. The street where the hotel is located is fairly quiet. Some back alley chatter and traffic noise, but nothing to keep us up at night. You'd expect that in a busy city anyway. The staff everywhere in the hotel were always friendly, genuine and helpful. We had the need to order taxis several times, and the staff at the front desk were always willing to order us a taxi every time. We had breakfast every morning and it had your usual continental offerings; staff were prompt in refilling needed items and checking in on guests. I understand why some reviewers find that the €14 charge for breakfast (at the time of posting this) is high for what they offered, yet we were happy with the whole breakfast experience. The best part for us were the 3 ladies tending the breakfast, they were the sweetest and most willing to help and please, always with a beautiful smile in their faces. There is also a small coffee station on the lower floor, with complimentary coffee and pastries, 24 hours. The rooftop bar was a fun place, where we had the best conversations with other guests. Consider the touch and go weather (rainy, windy), which makes it necessary to shut the bar, and to close the umbrellas. They have already lost too many umbrellas to wind damage. Anush, who tends the rooftop bar, was a highlight. I have read in several reviews that they find odd to be asked at check out if they want to leave a tip for the staff. I completely understand the reviewers surprise as they say that they might expect it in Canada/North America, but not in Europe, where tipping is less of an expectation. For us personally, we were willing to leave a tip for the staff as each one of them were so genuine and helpful, so we were glad we had a way to do so. PS/ We had the opportunity to talk to several of the staff members, and they all had one thing in common: they have all been with the company for many years. They all said that the owners go above and beyond to help the team members, in ways you don't even expect. We were so warmed to hear this about a company that cares so much about their employees. And the owners caring for the workers shows in the workers happy demeanor, which translates in good service, hence in happy customers.

The hotel was great. We were upgraded to a 3 person room (room #306) with a king and a single bed. It faced the street, but the neighbourhood was pretty quiet, just regular city noises. The only real downside to our room was the lack of counter space in the bathroom, but otherwise everything was great. It was a quick walk to the colosseum and the Maggiore Basilica. There are lots of restaurants nearby, but if you want something quick you are likely getting pizza. There is a small grocery store a couple doors down the street. The breakfast was good, but a little pricey (14 Euros/person) for what you get. We also tried the rooftop bar. It was a decent view, but the food was average (we had grilled veggies and the fried basket).

Beautiful accommodations. Helpful, caring staff. Lovely neighborhood. So enough to everything that we were interested in visiting. Everything we needed for our stay.

This is a really special hotel. Its covered in beautiful art. The hotel has a chef specializing in vegetarian food. We are not vegetarians but don't let that stop you. The food is excellent. Our room was luxurious and very comfortable and the staff is super. They greated us on check in with a drink and nice small snacks. Stay here if you can it's super

Surprised in a good way. Great location, near termini so easy to come by train from the airport, has a rooftop for cocktails, room is a decent size, beds comfy, great shower and bathroom, all amenities….and helpful staff. Didn't opt for the breakfast. Coffee machine in room, espresso machine downstairs. Lobby a little old style but definitely stay there again

I recommend this hotel. All the employees are very friendly and nice The rooms were very clean I would stay here again .. The breakfast was good .Cappuccino was great. Good selection of items on the buffet in the morning. The air condition in the room worked very good.A great location 15 minute walk to the Coliseum.Stores and restaurants right by the hotel and good gelato.We took a bus to the Spanish steps and the fountains.We stayed here 2 days before our cruise.

The room was perfectly equipped and cleaned and was decorated in a lovely way. The refrigerator was very helpful and the location and view were wonderful. We booked a King deluxe because it also had a twin sofa bed - it was very comfortable and nicely made up when we checked in. The pillows were excellent. Even though it is in a busy part of Rome, it is on a smaller side street that is charming and filled with restaurants and shops. Both front desk staff were warm and friendly. They made check in and check out feel very welcoming and helpful.

This hotel was conveniently located by the major sites and Termini train station. Beds were comfortable. Shower was awesome (power head from ceiling). AC worked well but no AC in the bathroom so we just closed that door. Friendly service. They even got me out of a jam by emailing me a copy of my passport when l forgot to take my photo ID to the Colleseum. The only thing l missed was having a room safe.

No parking!!!! Was directed to lot by front desk staff. When arrived at parking lot , I was told it was full. No parking available in area. Drove to airport to return rental and taxied back. Rooms are old, smelly and not up to standards for price. Worst room and view on entire trip. Don't make the same mistake.

Good hotel in super area of Monti with good selection of restaurants and bars, real local feel and only short walks to all the major sites of Roma. Hotel has large clean rooms with AC and friendly staff, just one block back from Main Street but local quiet area.

The room was spacious, clean and well equipped with everything we needed with a comfortable king sized bed. The sleep quality was excellent, and the mattresses felt like sleeping at home. We appreciate the free Wi-Fi and the coffee / tea maker. The staff(s) were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Check in was quick and easy. Great location and the breakfast buffet was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. And don't forget to check the rooftop bar. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rome. I feel at home in this hotel. Thank you so much Alessandro

The room was nicely decorated and the window opened to enjoy the fresh air. King bed was a nice surprise and comfortable. The washroom has been upgraded significantly since I visited 10 years ago. This is a very clean hotel with excellent reception staff. The morning breakfast was a little underwhelming with some pretty nasty brewed coffee. Certainly enough to start your day but nothing to write home about. The location is excellent with many restaurants close by. I would stay again without hesitation

Very nice hotel and loved the location in Monti. Near lots of restaurants, Short walk to the coliseum. Great rooftop bar. Very clean. Perfect for families who don't want to be in the middle of all the tourist attractions. Would have been 5 stars except they asked for an additional 5% charge on checkout to tip their staff.

This place is clean. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The free breakfast was really good. A great place to stay. It is close to St Mary Maggiore and plenty of good places to shop and eat. The Forum and Colosseum is quite close as well. We walked from here to all the sites including the Vatican, Castello St Angelo, Trevi Fountain etc.

This lovely, immaculate hotel has luxury details you would not expect for the reasonable price point. Service is top notch and the little extras like afternoon coffee and croissants make you feel really welcome. The hotel is within walking distance of the Termini train station yet tucked back enough that you are away from the crowds. It is also well positioned for walking to many sites and restaurants. Our room faced the front of the hotel (Room 306) so there was noise each day with trash collection starting at 4:30. I would recommend requesting a room away from the street.

Quaint hotel in Monti area down quiet laneway. A few cafes nearby and the hop on hop off bus. Family room had 2 decent beds with shared bathroom. There's a very nice rooftop bar. Good budget accommodation. Recommend for families or couples/singles.

Perfect small, family hotel run by friendly efficient staff. We had a larger family room for the 2 of us. The room was well furnished and modern with a large, comfy bed and a beautiful, marble bathroom. It had a large walk in shower and the water temp. was easy to regulate. The whole room was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. The internet worked perfectly. We had breakfast every day of our stay served in a lovely dining room. The breakfast choice was excellent and plentiful - lots of cold meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, juices, scrambled eggs and hot meats. The waiting staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. They made us cappuccinos and lattes when we asked for them and nothing was too much trouble for them. There is a lounge where we could help ourselves to coffee, tea and pastries during the day. The hotel is ideally situated for the sights around Rome on a quiet street but just a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. We would always return to this hotel if we come back to Rome.

Just returned, here are some things about our hotel stay hoping it might be useful :) -We stayed at the BW Hotel Raffaello in Rome Monti and would absolutely stay again. It was walkable to a lot; 20 minutes to the Spanish Steps (great area, lots of good shopping) and 10 minutes to the Colosseum. We also accidentally walked to Villa Borghese which was the highlight of the trip. Every road we walked down felt we took a lucky turn because of everything we saw. The only bummer is that the rooftop bar was closed for the season. The weather was in the 50s-60s the whole time, so we spent plenty of time on the terrace :) -This hotel is within walking distance of so many little retail shops, cheap souvenir shops and really nice cafes and trattorias. The rooms were remarkably, comfortable and not as small as you would think for a European hotel. The beds were VERY comfortable. The windows opened fully so we had lots of fresh air. I chose it based on location, price and the aesthetic. The rooms were so beautiful. The hotel and the staff exceeded all of my expectations. The breakfast was very satisfying (American coffee *AND* Cappuccino) and they have a free coffee spot in the lobby with *fresh* pastries, twenty four hours a day. I looked forward to those croissants every day. -We had collapsible water bottles (I don't know where to get them because we were given them as a gift before we left) which came in super handy because the water out of the public fountains was much more refreshing than any bottled water we bought. -There is a laundromat right around the corner where you can drop off to be washed and folded for you and it was done within a few hours. They are open 830a-9p. We did this for 25 euro for one basket, but they use a heavy perfume, so we could not wear the clean clothes and we have to rewash when we got home. This might not bother other people, but I am very sensitive to smell. -If you stay in this hotel I do recommend a balcony room. The terrace is like a private garden where I was able to enjoy my little coffee and croissant treat. However, there are only two rooms that have a terrace and not a lot of privacy between the two. Room 502 is double the size of 506 as the two terrace rooms. -Small elevators fit 4 people, or 1 or 2 with luggage. That said, we never had a problem and made a lot of use of the stairs anyway. -Great water pressure and water temp for the showers. They also offered full-sized shower products like you see in regular American hotels. The quality of these products were great, because we didn't have to pack toiletries except for a small bar of soap, because because I like having that option as a personal preference. The toilet paper rolls are very small and we went through toilet paper very quickly in the hotel. They keep little plastic bags handy to dispose of feminine hygiene products. They do have a good hair dryer but no iron. The bathrooms were not as small as we originally expected. Lots of space to spread out. -The staff were extraordinarily helpful when we needed to call a taxi, which is what we did when we left for the airport. We wanted to use up our euro, and these taxis accepted euro. But we used the FreeNow app for 90% of the taxis, we needed, and this was way more convenient. Long story short, I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. And I will plan to stay here again.

We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. The location was great , just a 10min walk from Roma Termini and then 10-15min walk to the colleseum. Very ideal! All the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable of restaurants to try. One morning it was raining, and the hotel had umbrellas for us to take on our day of sightseeing, such a great gesture! The beds were very comfy, and the bathroom was spectacular with all the toiletries you would need...and an added bonus of super fluffy towels . If I'm back in the area on holiday I would definitely stay here again.

Just a lovely hotel. It was a walk away from the centre. The beds were comfy, the place was spotlessly clean. My friend had asked for two single beds, on booking and slippers no slippers were provided, but it was fine with a king size and the room size was perfect for a few nights. The supermarket was next door. The only thing missing... a bottle opener. I bought one from the shop but it was pricey! A great break in Rome. On the last morning we treated ourselves to a breakfast which was lovely. The lady was lovely bringing us scrambled egg once it was ready. Thanks for a lovely stay in room 212.

Very good hotel in walking distance to most cites and from/to the main railway station, Roma Termini. Always very helpful and nice staff, ok rooms even if they are on the smaller side, but I'm mainly here to sleep. Good sleep quality, even being so central. Nice and clean bathroom.

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights to attend a concert. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, every area was very clean We were able to access our rooms early , which was amazing Huge room , very clean, comfortable All the staff we met were so friendly and welcoming I would not hesitate to stay again

Perfect location. Lovely breakfast area. Hotel staff was awesome. Balcony was perfect for relaxing at end of day. Many restaurants near in walking distance. Hop on bus stop one block away. Felt very safe in this area. We will definitely book thus hotel again.

We stayed 3 nights in the "Superior Double room" (top floor with large balcony) I would recommend this room, its worth it. The room was perfect, bed comfy, and everything was clean and housekeeping made our room everyday, very lovely service. We reserved an early checkin because we got there from the airport at 10am. Charge would have been 35EUR but they didn't asked for it because they were "only" ready with the room 15minutes later, very generous of them. Breakfast was delicious and in general all of the staff was very kind. Location is excellent, quiescent street no big trafic. Please note that the hotel is an old building - doesn't look like it because it was renovated inside and outside as well- but therefor in the room - if you close the windows for while - the air can be stuffy, so don't be disapointed on this, it is just how an old building is. All in all had a great stay and recommend this hotel with this room to everyone.

Highly recommended for so many reasons! Incredible location near landmarks or tour routes, great restaurants and a market. The area felt very safe for us. Their staff is amazing in addressing any needs. Be sure to have breakfast and check out the rooftop bar!

Great location for visiting the Colosseum. Some dining choices nearby and a relatively quiet street. Helpful front desk and friendly staff. We had a comfortable balcony overlooking the street and we enjoyed the rooftop bar lounge. A very good hotel experience.

The hotel is actually more pleasant than the area suggests when once arrived, but it's a nice place to stay. There are plenty of shops and resaurants within walking distance to visit. The Coloseum is only a 15 minute walk. The restaurant offers a complete and full breakfast at a cost of 14 euro, unless you're a BW Diamond member, then you can choose either the breakfast, or the 500 points! Like that's even a choice! They also have a Rooftop Bar which offers a nice sunset view, albeit with dozens of various other rooftops, including church domes. The food is very good, as well. Highly recommend the lasagna! There is also a mini-bar in the room. The staff are as professional and as personable as you can ask for and will do all they can to make your stay more pleasant. There is also a coffee area open throughout most of the day, with pastries available, as well. Elevator is very small, but can accomodate 4 people and luggage assistance is available at the desk, too. If you are a solo traveller, as I was, be advised that the "single room" is very small, and has neither a desk, nor a chair to sit! Should I stay here again, I would choose a double room. All things considered, I enjoyed my stay here! Very clean and comforting!

Excellent hotel with great location. We would stay here again when in Rome. The hotel was well appointed and clean and the staff was helpful and pleasant. We were within walking distance of everything from the Vatican to the Spanish Steps and everything in between.

I stayed twice within a couple of weeks—the first time in a newer room and the second time in an older room. Both rooms were clean, and check-in was easy and friendly. The location is perfect - close to the trains necessary for friends coming in to see us. The older rooms' plugs didn't work or fit our international adaptors, so charging devices was an issue, and we relied on our powerbanks and the bathroom plug. Rooms are also small, so fitting two people who were travelling for a month's luggage was hard. We were told this is a 4 star hotel, and it might be. But for Kiwi's reading this, its not the same as a 4 star in NZ - but no 4 star we stayed in in Italy was. Worth considering this hotel though.

This hotel is really lovely and in a great location to get to many of Rome's sites. The room was clean and comfortable and the amenities were quite nice. We were especially grateful for Mossimo who was so helpful and kind. If you rent a car, know that the hotel does not offer parking and it is in a special limited traffic zone. You'll need to provide your license tag when you are on your way so the hotel can alert the police to waive fees for entering the zone.

The staff are excellent and accommodating. Location is great, walked direct to Colisseum, Trevi Fountain, shopping. Grocery store steps from the Hotel with everything you may need. Roof top bar staff, of one, were excellent. May need to add extra help on busy nights, but kudos to the young gent the night we were there. Bed was comfy, pillows were great very clean. Thanks for a great two night stay.

This was a great location in Rome. The price was quite reasonable for the area. The rooftop bar was a great place to sit and unwind at night. We had a great driver that the hotel lined up for our early morning trip to the airport. The room was very clean and well appointed.

This hotel goes well out of its way to make you feel welcome from the time you arrive until you check out. Rooms are modern and have lots of outlets. The beds and pillows are super comfortable. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and can arrange excursions and also a private car to take you back to the airport. The hotel is within walking distance of everything. I will definitely stay here the next time I return to Rome

This hotel is ideally located for easy walking access to the Colosseum and Termini Station, as well as many of the key sites of 'old' Rome. It's located on a quiet street and there are several restaurants and cafes nearby. I found the hotel staff to be polite, helpful, and very accommodating to my beginner spoken Italian. The room (queen on second floor) was clear and very well appointed; having a small bar refrigerator was a pleasant surprise. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was new and very clean, and the water pressure was great! There's a small issue with the shower basin in my room not having a edge/lip in sections, which led to some water going on the floor. This was easily dealt with by putting down one of the many towels in the bathroom on the floor to soak it up. Given the hot and dry weather (Aug.), the towels were dried in a matter of hours. No big deal. I will definitely stay at this hotel during my next trip to Rome.

Clean and usefull. It is a clean little hotel for short business stays. You can't ask for more because there is not much else. There is no view, not even on the terrace. The buffet is sparse and of low quality. But as I say it is enough for quick visits.

Unsatisfactory Stay We recently stayed at Hotel Raffaello by Best Western in Rome from July 9th to July 11th, 2024. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the main issues I encountered: Unfair Child Pricing, The hotel charged the same rate for my child as they did for adults, which I found unreasonable. Most hotels offer discounted rates for children. Despite paying the full adult price for my child, there were no additional benefits provided. This lack of consideration was disappointing. The room we were assigned was notably small, making it uncomfortable for us to even move around in the room. It was quite evident that we were given smaller room inspite charging for larger room. Too money minded. Overall, I would not recommend Hotel Raffaello due to these issues. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their services for future guests.

Spent two nights at this hotel in a room with a King bed. The front desk staff were very friendly and checked us in an hour prior to normal check in time. Room was spacious, bed and pillows were comfy and the bathroom was bigger than expected. The shower had a waterfall and a hose to use. Air conditioner wasn't as cold as I would've liked it but it was still decent. Hotel location worked well for us and the best part was the reasonably priced grocery store next door! We got buns and smoothies for breakfast every day and beer and pop in the evenings. Did not eat the breakfast but it was 14 Euros per teen/adult, children are free. Did not go to the rooftop bar. Front desk staff ordered us a taxi for our departure and it was seamless. Would definitely return to this hotel and recommend to others.

We had a fab experience. Hotel was very clean. Room wasn't huge but not small. Was perfect for the two of us. Looks exactly as the photo. I liked the wallpaper. It was cushioned to touch and the there was lovely detail of rope beading along the top. You can't appreciate the detail in the photos. Only negative was that on the first night we were put in a double room where twin beds were pushed together to make a large bed. The mattress kept making a dip in the middle so wasn't great. I told them in the morning and they immediately changed our room. No complaint. No grumbling. They were very helpful. We just packed our bags and left for the day and came back to a fresh room. Also, some rooms have a bathtub , others don't. The breakfast area was cosy and clean. They had a nice variety of dishes for breakfast. Clearly labelled. One thing to note. Be careful you're not over charged. We almost got charged for breakfast even though we had already paid for it in our booking. Again, they adjusted with minimal fuss. The location was great. About 15 min walk from the Roma Termini station. 20 min if ur a slow walker like me ?. Very convenient as we used the train a lot. Colosseum was also 15 min walk away Trevi fountain about 20 min walk away. Only time we needed and used taxi was to go to Vatican City. That cost about 20 euros. On our last day, we checked out in the morning and left our bags. Our flight was late evening so we were out all day. They have a cute little area downstairs with sofa and coffee corner with pastries always available to help yourself to. Toilets too which are clean. We were able to freshen up and sort out our luggage. They even gave us space to pray before we left for the train station for our train to the airport.

The rooms and bath are spacious and luxurious. The best part was the sit out balcony with a good view of the city. It is a good 10 minutes' walk from the Roma termini train station and about 15-20 minutes' walk from the Colosseum. we were able to walk to the Trevi fountain also in about 25minutes. It may be more tiring if one walks with the luggage: all in all, its a very good location, with a good convenience store next door. Breakfast was quite good as well. The Capuchino in particular was excellent.

The Raffaello is a hotel with hearty staff, good rooms, great showers in a fantastic location in Monti very near Colosseum in Rome. Super easy access to metro and just all out a great place to go. The rooftop bar is a super experience and Anush and his buddy there are great to meet. Roberta in the breakfast room is another member of staff we wish to mention, as she was also super nice. All staff were super.

We were very happy with the location of this hotel. There was a good size grocery store right next door, a laundromat around the corner, delicious gelato half a block away, fantastic pizza about two blocks away, the metro was close, however we didn't use this. The hotel will also arrange a private driver (for a fee) to take you to the airport. Lots of history within a 15-ish minute walk in multiple directions.

The hotel is situated perfectly for wandering around, getting to attractions and restaurants/shops. The front desk staff are very helpful! The hotel room itself (we stayed in room 506) was a good size, and had a private terrace - although it was too hot to sit out there during the day. Some minor downsides: The Air conditioning on that floor wasn't working the best. Not sure if this is due to renovations? To let out the humidity we tried keeping the terrace window open but then mosquitos came in... lol so we had it closed 99% of the time. The renovations are going to make that place amazing, and the individuals working there were VERY cautious but they were there nonetheless and there was lots of stuff everywhere to watch out for. The breakfast is small but lovely and we were able to get cappuccinos or latte's as well. I really enjoyed that they had ice buckets available in a freezer. That is a nice amenity. All in all, we were very pleased with this hotel. :)

Fantastic hotel and will definately return. Beds very comfortable. Decent shower. Very friendly staff. There is a PAM supermarket next door which was very handy for bottles of water etc and stocked all you might need. Some lovely restaurants a walk away. We loved the district it was on and enjoyed walks to Trevi fountain and the colosseum. Would highly reccomend this hotel

Had the pleasure of staying here for a few days prior to a 10 day Cruise, and for a few days immediately after. We were a group of 15 and we enjoyed everything about the stay! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!! ?

I had an unexpected flight change and needed an extra night hotel in Rome, so booked a last-minute single room at this hotel without knowing much, other than being familiar with the general neighborhood from prior visits to Rome. It was a good choice - I'd definitely stay here again (though I think room rates are normally higher than my budget). Room: Small, with single bed (for single rate), but clean, quiet, and actually with a lovely view of the adjacent church and rooftops. Also it had cold A/C controlled by a thermostat in the room (the recurring theme of my Italian hotel reviews is availability of A/C - Italy can be pretty hot even in May, but A/C is very inconsistently available at hotels!) Value: It was a surprisingly affordable rate (130 Euro - I think normally the room rates are higher). Breakfast was included in my rate, but I had a very early flight out so it wouldn't be open, so I can't comment on how it is - but the front desk staff was very kind and had a little to-go bag at the desk when I checked out with pre-packaged pastries and juice box and fruit. Location: In the Monti neighborhood, on a very quiet side street but easily walkable to train station and sights. And there's lots of local cafes/restaurants/etc in the neighborhood. Decor: It's old school red carpet/dark wood/gold filagree, so not a happening modern design, but it worked for the space, which is a historic building with tall ceilings, etc.

This was our first trip to Italy. We were not sure what to expect. Best Western is not one of the top hotel brands in the USA. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was attractive. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good. The hotel is right in the city and near restaurants and attractions.

We had a great stay at this hotel, the room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely they provided a good selection of gluten free food for my coeliac son. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations but it didn't disturb us and the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in April and really enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is really good. 10 mins from the main train/bus station and a decent walk from most of the main attractions. The road the hotel is on is quiet but further down there are lots of restaurants. The room was very comfortable - in fact it was the best room we had on our trip to Italy. Beds were great. The breakfast was also the best we had in Italy. Fresh fruit salad (rather than out of a can like we had elsewhere) on top of plenty of other choices. The staff, without exception, were fabulous. Really friendly and helpful. The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment at the time and so whilst it wasn't looking its best in some places, it was quiet and didn't detract from our stay. They also have a roof top bar - unfortunately, due to the weather it wasn't something we could use, and if there was one area I would say it needed to look at it would be this. Appreciate it probably is sunnier in Rome more often than not, but not having an inside bar to be able to sit in on an evening was a bit of a shame and so had to sit in our room after we'd been out for dinner. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend. Hopefully the sun might shine next time and we could use the roof top bar!

We had a single and 2 double rooms for our family and all were spacious, clean and with lovely comfortable beds. Bathrooms were really nice with good showers, they looked like they might have been recently renovated. Breakfast was very nice with lots of options to suit most people. Roof top bar was a lovely space to relax with a drink after a day of seeing the sights. All members of staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations at the moment but this in no way impacted our stay and enjoyment so don't be put off by this. Would have no hesitation in recommending to others or staying here again ourselves.

Stayed for 4 nights, and had a great time. Staff was fantastic, the family room is terrific, very large, with a good distance between the main bed and the smaller kids bed. Comfy beds as well. Breakfast was also quite good. Location is nice if you want to be near the thick of things, but not right in the middle of the chaos.

The most comfortable beds, friendly and efficient staff, good breakfast variety and reasonable walking distance to nearby restaurants. A step back in history upon arriving at the beautifully decorated and ornate building and entering room.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel recently. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the lovely lady serving it made sure we had everything we needed. Our family room was comfortable and clean and we were given fresh towels and linen daily. A really great hotel in a great location, just a stroll away from the colosseum. Would love to return again soon.

We stayed in Hotel Raffaello for 3 nights. The room was comfortable and clean. It was very quiet despite the fact that renovations were going on in hotel. Excellent breakfast available. All staff in hotel were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Location is great, close to Santa Maria Maggiore basilica and Termini Station, with many of the sights of Rome within walking distance. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby and a supermarket very close also. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very central, clean and the staff speak English which made our stay so easy. The lovely person who checked us in was very informative and helpful. The room was clean and stylish. I hope to go back some day.

My friend and I stayed for 5 days at the Hotel Raffaello in February. Be aware, the hotel is currently going through renovations and I'm not sure when they are slated to end. Maybe check with the hotel before booking. I couldn't tell you if the rooms we stayed in were pre or post renovation. I booked the smallest basic room and my friend booked one of the superior rooms. The room I had is what you would expect. It was small, good enough for one person. I did find it hard to get in and out of bed as the space where the bed was located was a little tight. With that said the bed was comfy! I think my room was above where they dropped off the construction materials in the morning and I was woken up on the week days rather early but it wasn't enough for me to complain about it or anything. I did have an issue with my thermostat and the person at the front desk was able to help me straight away! My friends room was quite large and again, we couldn't tell if it was pre or post renovation. We did notice some mold on the ceiling in his room. That was concerning. The other thing we noticed were the differences in amenities between to the two rooms: He received a complimentary bottle of water and I did not, he had a kettle in his room to boil some water for tea/coffee and I did not, he also received complimentary bath robe and slippers. His room was large enough for two people to stay comfortably and my room was perfect for one person. We both chose the free breakfast option and it was ok. I'm sure there are better breakfasts out there but it was nice to not worry about where to get breakfast. The location was fine and it was close to lots of sites, restaurants, etc. There was a small grocery store right next door which was great for getting snacks, water, etc. It was an ok hotel and I would probably stay again for a short stay. If you are staying longer in Rome I might try and find something else.

Just 10 minutes walk from Roma Termini, this is a very convenient hotel to access. Also in walking distance to most major sites. Smiling and helpful staff, clean room and bathroom, good bed, minifridge and kettle upon request. Very good breakfast, where they offer to make you a very good cappucino or if you wish other types.

The Raffaello offered a single room at a fair price. Traveling alone, I decided to take advantage knowing the room would be quite small. It was. But I found it to be surprisingly comfortable. Tremendously clean with crisp sheets. I even liked the decor, which rarely impresses me in those cookie-cutter hotels: padded wallpaper and marble bathroom. Very kind and helpful staff. Solid breakfast with many choices. Remember, this review is for the single room. If you have a monster suitcase I believe you might have a problem in the single. A ten minute walk from Roma Termini station, with its many services and eateries and a Conad supermarket in the basement. Try to visit the National Museum - Baths of Diocletian if you have time. It's just across the street from Roma Termini. The artefacts were great but my favorite part was the structure itself, which I found as interesting as the Colosseum. It's off the beaten tourist path and you won't deal with crowds.

I was nervous about our booking here when I saw that renovations were underway. In reality, we had no noise and minimal disruption (though there was scaffolding outside our window, we weren't on a side with much of a view anyway!) And we did benefit from one of the new bathrooms which was very nice. The rooms are a bit tired and old - that's why they are renovating - but are clean and should be very nice once all the work is finished. The location is great. It's a 10 min easy walk from Termini and an easy walk to many attractions - Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and many others. We didn't take the metro or public transport at all during our stay - though there is plenty of access nearby if you need it. The Monti neighborhood felt very safe to walk in at night and loads of great restaurants within walking distance. There is also a small supermarket next door. The breakfast was OK but we preferred to save money and grab a pastry and coffee on the run instead. Make sure you visit the amazing Gelateria S.M.Maggiore which is just around the corner.

Great location in Rome, close to Roma Termini and walking distance to all the main sites of Rome. The rooms were spacious, nice and comfortable. The price was great value for the location. The service from staff was also great. We highly recommend it.

Great location, kind staff. This was a good European hotel room. The bed was nice and the bathroom very clean. The air conditioning was spotty, but this is pretty typical of what you will find in most European hotels. The elevator wasn't working, so they comped us free breakfast. The staff also assisted when we had some difficulty with our pre-scheduled transfers. The neighborhood is charming. A good value for the price.

Not bad at all,clean and very safe.also the staff was friendly and helpful.Furthermore it was a last minute checkin and they treated me like a king.Only thing was parking.Parking is a problem but it's a problem all over Rome

This is a wonderful hotel a short walk from Termini station. The staff speaks great English, and it is quiet and very comfortable. We were just passing through so we only stayed one night, but I know if we ever go back to Rome, this is the place we will stay ! The decor is traditional yet not tired, and the bed was really very nice as were the pillows. The bathroom was marble with modern cool looking sink and fixtures. The only thing I can think of that was a minor negative is that the floor is marble and the walk in shower(with a non slip surface in the space) can splash on that floor making it really slippery! The climate control was quiet and didn't blow cold air (A/C) on us. This is an issue in some hotels, isn't it? It was fine here. There is a seemingly sparsely attended rooftop bar, which is very nice. We were able to get car service to the airport for 60 euros which was right on time at 6:30Am .. or you could just walk to Termini and take the Leonardo express train directly to Leonardo daVinci airport. We did not have the breakfast as we had to leave too early. There are lots of places to eat nearby.

This hotel had a lot of character. We were upgraded to a "suite" which really consisted of a room with king bed and a room with two twins. No sitting room as one might expect of a suite in N. America but definitely suitable for a family. The room was comfortable and there was water and a couple of soft drinks in the fridge at a cost. The rooms were clean though maybe somewhat dated. The only downside was the size of the corner shower which was really small and barely manageable. Our friends, though, had no issue with their walk-in one. The lobby was lovely with a couch and chairs with additional seating on a lower level, about 6 steps down. Coffee was available 24/7 in this area and pastries at times. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We've always opted to stay at Best Western Hotels whenever possible and this one did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend.

Definitely “best” hotel I've stayed in, in Rome. Walking distance to the main sites, but the hotel was clean, comfortable, breakfast (optional) filled a hole and service was great. I can't fault anything.

We stayed at the Raffaello for 2 nights. What a great hotel. Had everything we needed. We were a family of 4 and stayed in a quad room which is rare in Rome (or Italy, for that matter). The room had 2 twin beds, great for our 2 teenaged boys and a separate room for my husband and I with a King sized bed. The room had air conditioning which was definitely needed in the heatwave we experienced. We all agreed that this hotel offered one of the comfiest beds ever in our travels. We slept so well! The washroom is small but that's to be expected. We had breakfast at the hotel - which was a good variety of pastries (yummy croissants), meats, cheese, eggs, bacon, yogurt and some fruit. The wait staff at the breakfast area was amazing. The lady who worked there was so nice and friendly; always had a smile on her face. The front desk staff were super friendly as well. Very accommodating and always there to answer our questions. The hotel is in Monti (I think) and was walking distance to the colosseum, Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Termini station. It's also right next door to a Pam (mini supermarket). We bought ice cold waters and snacks here during our stay… If we're lucky enough to visit Rome again, I would be happy to stay at the Raffaello again! Grazie!

Loved this quaint, charming hotel in the Monti neighbourhood. Close to everything. Walked to major sites - Colosseum, Trevi, Spanish Steps. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and accommodating from front desk to wait staff (we enjoyed breakfast onsite). Loved that there is a supermarket (Pam) next door! I would give it 4.5 stars but don't know how to do it :) I would be more than happy to stay at the Raffaello again. Grazie mille!

This hotel is located near Termini Station and lots of restaurants. Really great location and easy to walk around. The staff were lovely and the breakfast fantastic. We would stay there again for sure.

It is an absolute pleasure to write a review on this lovely hotel in Rome. It is an absolute gem. Very central to everything. Very comfortable room and we had a newly renovated bathroom which was very modern. The whole atmosphere in this hotel can only be described as friendly and accommodating. Staff at reception and in the breakfast room and the cleaning staff are lovely and do a wonderful job. Breakfast was superb with a great choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, breads not to mention beautiful fresh pastries every morning. A special mention for Barcar on reception. A lovely gentleman and very helpful even offering us umbrellas when we were heading out in the rain. Well done to all at Hotel Raffaello. We will be back and we will be happy to recommend.

Our room was small but ok. The air conditioner was fantastic but the bathroom…..we had to step up 2 steps to a small door into the very small bathroom. The shower was the worst, it's a small corner shower with a spa panel down the corner so made it even smaller. I wish the owners would sleep and use facilities in each room to understand what should be changed. The lift wasn't working for the week so had to carry our luggage up to our room. We got a drink bottle as a sorry, maybe 2 for 2 people would be better. The staff are all very nice, and the lady at breakfast was very lovely. Good buffet breakfast too.

We had an excellent stay in Hotel Raffaello. The room was very spacious and clean. Blackout curtains and air con, needed in the heat during our stay. We didn't have breakfast any morning as we were up and gone sightseeing early. The staff were all so friendly and courteous at all times. There is some building/renovation works ongoing but they didn't affect us during our stay. The hotel is situated on a quiet street with a 3 min walk to lots of restaurants and shops in the Monti district. Also an easy 10 min walk to the Colosseum. We've been to Rome a few times and this is our first time staying at this hotel but certainly won't be our last. Looking forward to our return visit.

Nothing to shout about but nothing to moan about either. Traditional decor, comfortable large bed, working air con. Adequate bathroom (although for some reason there wasn't ever any hot water between 2 & 4pm which is when we came back to shower having spent the whole morning in the hot sun walking for miles!) and have a little nap. Luckily this didn't really bother us too much as the cold water was rather welcoming :) Staff were helpful with any enquiries we had & happy to help which was appreciated. Please though, if you need to change any money up, do not use the hotel service as they charge an extortionate commission fee - for £80 they wanted to give us €64 back! Two streets away in a money exchange outlet we got €88 for our £80. All in all we had a pleasant & comfortable stay here, the fact the lifts weren't working and there was some banging going on during the day didn't bother us as we were only on the 1st floor with just hand luggage and the banging didn't last long at all. I would consider staying here again.

The location is ok for the price but the hotel is average. Lift doesn't work, no hot water night or in the morning. Bed was comfortable and the desk service was good. Don't get an airport transfer though as the driver was terrible. Blaring music at 7am, talked on his phone constantly, got angry at traffic every 5 mins and drove erractically. Less than pleasant way to get to airport.

This hotel was perfect for our couple days we spent in Rome. The lift was broken but staff helped getting our luggage up to our room and back down at check in. The staff at the hotel were so helpful and kind...would recommend this hotel.

Worst part about the room was the toilet was positioned right in front of the shower meaning anyone of average height of above could not use it. Also window looked out onto internal wall with no warning and noisy building works during the day.

Excellent hotel in a great location for touring. Walking distance to the colosseum as well as most of Rome's major tourist attractions. Lots of wonderful neighborhood restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. Extensive breakfast enabled us to skip lunch most days as we were touring. Special shout-out to Flavia, the wonderful woman overseeing breakfast -- always so friendly and helpful, a delight to talk with. Also, all of the gentlemen at the front desk were friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants and arranging taxis. Notes: the elevator is out of commission and, according to the front desk, will be for some time. We had no problems (and were on the first floor) but those with mobility problems may struggle. Also the shower is a very odd thin tube (not enough room to bend over) and large clients might have difficulty. Overall, we loved the hotel and its staff and location.

This place was super pretty with such great staff. They were so helpful and wanting us to have the best time! Breakfast was great too. We walked everywhere from here other than the airport. It was perfect!

I chose this hotel for the location (near the Rome Termini; main train station), price for the advertised offerings, and because of the standards required to have the Best Western brand association. My wife and I were not disappointed. We arrived early, before check-in, but the staff gladly took our suitcase so we could explore the city. Our bags were in our room upon our re-arrival. The room was simple/basic, clean, updated, and appropriately-appointed. It appeared to be in a safe area as well. The entire staff was happy and helpful. We ate breakfast at the buffet one morning and it seems have something for everybody--a great way to start the day! The well-kept buffet offered a carafe of coffee Americano, but the person taking care of the breakfast room asked if we'd like a specialty coffee and fresh orange juice. It was the perfect base for our exploration of the wonderful city of Rome.

Hotel Raffaello is a wonderful place! The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and kind and the location was perfect for walking to all of the Beautiful Roman Structures! I love how close this hotel was to Termini train station. I had no problem walking with my roller bag from the station to the hotel. The man who checked me in spoke to me in both English and Italian and made me feel very welcome. I absolutely loved the room and had a great night sleep! Will use again in the future!

If you want to be in a pretty good property then you have to book your stay here. The premises are in good shape, cleanliness is their top priority and the staff will be taking care of you in case assistance is required. It will take you about 10 minutes to walk to the Colosseum and very good restaurants close by, safe area though.

My two daughters and I stayed at this property for 4 nights after Christmas. The hotel smells so fresh - there is a scent that is so delightful. The lift is small, but we only used it once. After that, we used the stairs. What an amazing location! We walked to Termini in 10-15 minutes. We walked to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain which were about 10-15 minutes walking as well. There are so many restaurants within walking distance as well. We walked to dinner each night. We used taxis to get to and from Vatican City and the meeting spot for one of our tours. Be sure to ask if the meter works or negotiate the price before entering. Also ask if the driver will accept credit card if you do not want to pay with cash. All team members were exceptional. Fillipio responded to all my inquiries before our arrival and arranged our airport transfer to the hotel. Bacar was extremely helpful. He gave us directions to various points of interest and restaurant suggestions. He helped us with a few Italian phrases and words as well. One day when we returned, our room key wouldn't work. The batteries were dead and, after several attempts, an employee figured out the issue and changed the batteries in the lock. Another desk employee was kind as well. He answered all our questions and helped with directions. Someone brought my daughter's bag (that was delayed and delivered to the hotel a day later) and an iron upstairs as well. I do not remember his name, however. We requested (by placing a sign on our door handle) housekeeping daily. The room was cleaned nicely each day! Housekeeping is amazing. The beds were nice and comfy. We had a family room and the view wasn't picturesque, but we were hardly in the room except to sleep and shower. Yes, the shower is small, but it worked perfectly for us. This is no fault of the hotel, but the Roma taxi that the front desk team member called for our return to the airport was dishonest. He charged more than the meter reading. When I brought this to his attention, he claimed it was for our bags, but he previously stated bags were included. Also, the amount he overcharged would not have covered the charge for our bags. Several taxis passed us on the way to the airport. The drive slowly coasted to run up the meter. I could have made a big deal, but it was very early morning and my daughters and I just wanted to exit the vehicle and catch our flights home. If you are traveling to the airport during surcharge hours, ask the hotel to arrange for a private transfer.

So easy to get to from the central train station (Termini). Walking distance to the Colosseum & Plaza Maria de Maggiorrie, well worth visiting. Plenty of restaurants and Terminiinni offers many choices too. Stay away from the market next to hotel, better choice's out there. Nasty ppl. We used the hop on and hop off to get to the Vatican. Easiest & cheapest way. Watch out for restaurants that want to charge you to sit at a table to order a meal. I refused to pay. Loved our hotel. Will be back

I stayed @ Hotel Raffaelo, Rome for a couple of days with my family in October-November 2022. However, it was an underwhelming stay but certainly not unpleasant. We arrived a couple of hours earlier than the standard check-in time. However, they still provided us with 1 out of 2 rooms right away (the other was also readied before the standard check-in time). The lift is way too small (3 pax can barely stand in it) and stops at intermediate levels, so you always have to climb up/down the stairs for reaching the rooms, which is quite inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. They don't provide an electric kettle in any of the rooms. However, they provided us with 1 since we needed it for boiling water for our baby's formula. While the rooms were spacious and well-furnished, the bathroom was too cramped. The best part of our stay was their breakfast spread. As had a vegan croissant and a veg savoury croissant, I finally got to have a croissant for breakfast. Their staff even remembered our preference the next day and helped us in selecting appropriate dishes. They don't have a restaurant so you cannot have lunch and dinner in the hotel, but there are many options nearby so that wasn't a problem. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were happy to guide us about the local transport. Overall it was a mixed bag, not a great experience but not bad either. In case you choose to stay here, do try some gelato at Gelateria S.M. Maggiore which is nearby.

Great location and can easily walk to Colosseum and enjoy a nice stroll through old town. Well maintained, clean and we had a great nights rest as super quiet and comfortable beds. Breakfast spread is good value for money and the waffles with real maplesirup one of the best the kids and I ever had. Well maintained & clean and the decor provides a trip back in time.

My weeklong stay at Hotel Raffaello was a great joy on so many levels. The hotel is exquisitely beautiful without being pretentious. I enjoyed my lovely room as it was clean, comfortable & had a great view. Compliments to the housekeeping team for great work! The hotel's location was great for exploring the neighborhood & for finding fun places to shop & eat. My biggest 10+++++star compliments are for the staff at Hotel Raffaello: as Massimo, Filippo and Bacar were incredibly helpful with my daily questions and Roberta was a ray of sunshine every morning for breakfast! She & her hard-working team always had a smile for me especially when I spoke in my lopsided Italian! Thank you again for such a special experience with an extraordinary team that are truly assets to Hotel Raffaello.

The Hotel Raffaello was a sweet surprise of outstanding accomodations, amenities and staff. From the moment we checked, the week of our stay and then departure, we were treated and provided with the the highest level of services, kindness, and helpfulness. The desk staff were always incredibly profressional, friendly and helpful. Thank you to Massimo, Fillipo and especially Bacar. Our stay was made that much more pleasant and stress free because of them. Also the breakfast was such a perfect way way to begin each day. The breakfast staff provided a delicious beautifully presented selection of both traditional Italian as well as American breakfast food. We were always greeted and attended to every morning with kindess and caring. A special thank you to barista Roberta for her sweet smile and wonderful caffe. The houskeeping staff did a wonderful job of keeping keeping our room clean and so well appointed. Their hard work was noticed throughout the hotel as it was always very clean, Raffaello- a true 5 star experience.

Great location, 10 minutes from the main train station. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and good value at 10 euros.

My husband and I stayed in Room 506 which is on the top floor. The room does not have a lot of space with the king bed and furniture but by having the terrace, you get another room. The price for three nights was $677 Canadian (including taxes) which is an incredible price. I would recommend that you become a Best Western member as it really has benefits. My sister told me about this wonderful hotel - she has stayed here three times. During our stay, the elevator broke down but we are fit so it wasn't a problem for us to climb the stairs. The elevator was fixed by the next morning. The shower, as mentioned in other reviews, is small but a minor inconvenience that I can certainly overlook - in that location and that price point! We bought cold cuts, cheeses, etc. in the grocery story (steps away from the hotel) so we enjoyed many meals outside on our terrace (as we didn't need to go sit in busy restaurants after hours of sightseeing). We had lovely conversations with the guests on the neighbouring terrace - the first night, the couple was from Kelowna, BC and the next 2 nights, that couple was from New Jersey. Our last night, we had an incredible meal at Ristorante Tema - a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel. You can book a car service to the airport for 60 Euros through the front desk but we chose to get the front desk to call a Roma taxi which has a flat rate of 50 Euros. We appreciated that we were told to wait inside and the concierge went out to check on the taxi. He told us that other taxis will simply be driving by and will stop when they see people waiting with suitcases and you want to make sure that it's the taxi that was called. We also had the front desk book our On-Off Bus Tour which was convenient as they printed off the tickets for us. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. Still very similar thoughts. The interior is very classic in the shared spaces as well as the rooms. The room was a bit small this time but we slept very well. Great breakfast and especially the lady who worked there alone was amazing! She was able to handle filling the plates, taking coffee orders and cleaning the room by herself, still with a smile on her face. Good location, only beware of traffic if driving nearby as we were fined when leaving the hotel with our car because it wasn't clear there were some restrictions in the area. I guess we'll stay there again some time!

Not something to be excited about, but for the price it was pretty good. Clean room, comfortable beds, good A/C, and decent breakfast. Good location. Negative includes: very small room, tiny elevator (1 person with luggage at most), elevator stops between floors (so, at least 9 steps to walk) and VERY small shower. The shower size is a quarter of a circle with radius of 80cm. One cannot stay inside without touching all 4 "walls" of that shower. But for the price, it was a good hotel.

This hotel was fantastic for the value! It is located close to termini station which is the airport train as well as the intersection of the two metro lines. It is a short walking distance to most attractions that bring tourists to the city. The staff was extremely friendly and allowed us to store luggage on the days along arrival and departure to allow maximum time exploring Rome. The room was comfortable and clean.

We stayed here between July 21-24 and then again July 26-27. The hotel is in a pretty good location, the metro station Cavour is just down the road and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff were very nice, mentions for Alessandro, Bacar, Flavia (breakfast) and Michele. I hope I got their names right! The room on our first three nights was spacious with good air conditioning. The only downside was on our last night there, we were in a different room and the air conditioning was not working particularly well, and it was very hot in the city at the time (July). Also the lift was very small. Overall, it was a very good stay!

Excellent hotel in a great location. We stayed in this hotel as we wanted somewhere close to local attractions. We weren't disappointed, it was in an ideal location so close to everywhere there was a hop on hop off bus stop about 2 minutes away which was great and we used it every day.! The hotel was lovely clean rooms very spacious and the staff were so lovely and helpful the breakfast was good too with lots of choice. I would definetly recommend if you are visiting Rome and would stay again.

The hotel management and staff did everything to address my needs with the reservation, always treating me like I was their most important guest, even though it was my first time there. I will make sure I book again when in Rome, because of the empathy and attention to details

We walked to all the major attractions such as Colosseum, Vatican, Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. We were able to walk to sites and take a break back at the hotel and then head out again. There was a grocery store next door. Try the restaurant down the street called La Mucca Biricchina. Hotel staff friendly. Very nice, clean rooms with great air conditioning. Breakfast was very good. I loved the hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, cappuccino, and selection jam in little jars. They have coffee and pastries available throughout the day. Would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again.

The Good: Excellent staff (Accomodating, respectful and Awsome!) Especially Allessandro. Eventhough he was not able to make changes, he patiently helped me understand the reasons. Breakfast: Great selections with plenty of pastries, cold meats with limited selections of hot foods (scramble eggs and a couple of hot meats). Love the sets, wish I could have eaten more Rooms: Quiet and good size. The walls are well insulated for noises. Beds are comfortable. We have 4 people in a "Family Room". The two bedrooms are separated by a wall and door for privacy (we have 2 teenaged boys). There is also a mini fridge to store drinks. Air conditioning, air conditions, and air-conditioning. The best part of coming back to the hotel after a sweaty day of excursions is the air conditioning unit! We will come back in the fall on our next trip. Location: 10mins walk to the Colloseum, 7mins to Roma Termini, and plenty of cafés from which to choose within a couple mins of walking. There is also a small convenient store a couple of doors down. Taxi pick up. It's only 60 euro from FCO to the hotel. You could arrange it right on the website. Extremely convient,, not having to worry about transportations after 15 hrs on the plane. The Not so good: The Room: 1) "Family Room" view is the air condition unit (pictures attached). I was told ALL Family rooms (they only have 4 rooms) have this view. It's a small hotel. So, be sure to book 2 superior rooms with balconies You paid to come all this way, might as well. We would have done this if known before hand, but they were all booked so could not exchange. 2) There was a tear on one of the top sheets ( but housekeeping replaced it once I pointed out, like I said, very accommodating). The extra blankets were very itchy and gave me rashes. Had to exchanged it for another. 3) Lastly..Ahh yes the shower. So, I'm 5'2 and 115lb. My elbows kept hitting the sides and doors. No, I wasn't pirouetting in the shower. It's small, but doable...for me. My sons and husband are taller and weight 140lb to 160lbs did not complain. The take away: Our next stay here, I would spend a little more for two Superior rooms with Balconies. This would've made the trip more memorable.

Hotel Raffaello is located in a historical building on a quiet street street with easy access to many of Rome's main attractions, as well as the rail station. The staff is professional, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are immaculate with exceptionally comfortable beds. Family suites have two bedrooms. The breakfast is fresh and delicious with varied meats, cheeses, breads, pancakes, pastries, fruit, and more. Our family could not have chosen a more perfect hotel for our visit to Rome. Good 3 star hotel, most sites we wanted to see where within walking distance, the staff are friendly and the breakfast offered was good to set us up for the day. Rooms nice and clean bed was comfortable the shower was a little small but was fine

We stayed in a Superior Terrace room for two nights in May and absolutely loved it. The room was big and comfortable, beds firm but very comfy, good quality pillows, and OMG that terrace... spectacular. The front desk staff are very kind and helpful, breakfast was great, and the location is fantastic. Though it is very central (within walking distance to the Colosseum), it was very quiet. The street the hotel is on is so charming, and lined with shops and restaurants. Only negative I can think of is that the AC unit can be a bit loud. Will be returning next year, highly recommended!

Very nice hotel that is close to everything yet on a quite street with a small grocery store half a block away. The rooms and bathrooms are a nice size, comfortable beds, and a very good breakfast. This was a excellent find and very affordable.

When you think of staying in a traditional Italian hotel, consider this one. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous, the location is good, and the rooms are amazing! I stayed in a room with a terrace, which was worth it just for the terrace. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The most perfect and memorable hotel experience we could have imagined! All of the staff, especially the breakfast staff, were pleasant and helpful. The location was convenient with easy access to the subway lines, many delicious restaurants, and bodega next door. Everything about our stay was perfect! Highly recommend the early check-in option if available.

We normally stay in apartments, but needed accommodations close to Termini for our last night in Rome, and this property worked out very well for us. Be aware that if you are walking back to Termini, it is all uphill. :-) We had a family room, which was larger than expected and had a wall separating the two bed areas. The bathroom is not configured very well, as the door bangs into the toilet, and the shower is extremely tiny. Our room was very quiet, and the front of the hotel is located on a nice side street with a grocery store next door. The front desk staff arranged for our taxi to the airport early the next morning, and we appreciated that very much.

Just a couple of city blocks from the Termini and across from the St. Mary Maggiore church, and with many restaurants and some sites nearby, Hotel Raffaello was a good choice for us. Our room for three adults was spacious and very clean. The beds - very comfortable. The breakfast had a variety of items - not just sweets. Every staff we came in contact with was helpful and friendly. They held our luggage for us while we did some last minute sightseeing. There is an elevator, but there are some stairs to navigate - but this was not a problem for us. I wish we had stayed here for more nights than we did, but we know for next time.

Having waited almost three years since booking, we were thrilled to finally make it to this charming hotel. Management had kindly honoured our booking despite several cancellations due to the pandemic, and we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes by the front desk team, including a huge smile and the words “Finally, you are here!” before an unexpected upgrade to the delightful top floor terrace suite. The hotel is well positioned - 10 minutes from Termini Station and key city centre attractions with a handy mini supermarket very close by. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage and well cleaned and the private roof terrace offered access to the sights and sounds of Rome. We didn't try the breakfast, but the buffets looked good and it's worth noting that other meals are not served and there is no bar area. We would definitely recommend the hotel for a short break as a convenient and comfortable base.

We had an excellent 4 night stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming and check-in was quick. The rooms are a good size with storage and a very comfortable bed and pillows. There is a minibar but we did not use it. Ensuite bathrooms are a good size - shower cubicle not large but adequate! Double shower head - toiletries provided and a hairdryer in the bathroom beside the mirror. TV channels in English were limited to news and TBN - but it was only on for a while in the evenings. There is a safety deposit box in the room. Breakfast was excellent and staff could not have done enough to help. Thee was a good variety of breads, meats, cheeses, pastry and fruit and yoghurt - as well as scrambled egg, bacon and sausage pieces. Orange juice was beautiful! And tea and coffee - as much as you wanted - including herbal teas. Location is good. 10 minute walk from the Colusseum down Via Cavour - and carry on down to the bottom of Via Cavour you will come to he Altar of the Fatherlands. Pantheon and Trevi a bit further. We took a taxi to Vatican which took around 20 minutes with no traffic. Termini station is a 10 minute walk the other direction. Easy to get about by foot, metro or ask reception to call a taxi. Overall an excellent stay. Just missed tea and coffee in the room but there was a coffee station downstairs with tea, coffee and cake in abundance. Would highly recommend Rafaello Hotel.

Location: excellent. Minutes walk from Roma Termini Station. Just head to via Cavour and the hotel is on a quiet side street. Easy to walk to coliseum, spanish steps, Victorio Emmanuel, Pantheon etc. About 45 mins - 1 hour walk to Vatican. There is a metro station on via Cavour though we didn't use it. Facilities: The hotel has a lovely feel when you walk into the lobby, warm and welcoming. It also looks freshly refurbished on the exterior. We were greeted and checked in within minutes. You will have to show your vaccination status which is now the new normal for italy. We were in room 512 on the top floor. It was a standard size room. Decorated in golds and reds it felt like you were in italy, I loved the authentic feel. The bathroom is a decent size though the shower cubicle was very small. It had two shower heads and a basket for shampoo etc. There were free toiletries consisting of shampoo, shower gel, a shower cap and shoe shine also soap bars and plenty of towels there was a hair drier, much like the travel ones you get - not very mighty but gets the job done. There was a large mirror and a section of this was a super reflected area, perfect for applying make-up or contact lenses etc. The room had a very comfy bed with adequate pillows. There was also a spare pillow and spare blankets in the wardrobe and wardrobe was spacious. There was also a pillow menu if you wish to change them. There was a mini bar, very limited but provided a couple of beers (€3.50 small tins) Fanta and water however there is a mini market 3 doors down if you needed any provisions. TV was decent and has English speaking channels. Heating/air con very good and controlled by you as opposed to the hotel. We were delighted to have a small balcony too, not to sit on, but I love to wake up, throw open the doors and listen to the city waking up. The doors were well sound proofed and we enjoyed undisturbed sleep. We did not partake in breakfast as we like to stroll and find small establishments that locals use and certainly wouldn't pay €9 each for breakfast especially when we were paying €5 for both of us elsewhere. The free coffee and cake facility in the lobby was very welcomed and we used this daily after sightseeing, however there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which we unfortunately missed very much. There were no slippers in the room either so if you wanted an early morning coffee, you had to get dressed and put your shoes on to go down 5 flights to get a drink. This I could not compromise on again and would strongly suggest providing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, we had housekeeping daily and toiletries replenished. The area around the hotel us abundant with restaurants and bars so the fact that the hotel has no bar did not really bother us. If you need to get a rapid antigen test to travel home in covid times, if you walk up the side of the hotel onto via Cavour there is a pharmacy on the left on the opposite side of the road (look out for the white tent outside). The service was €22 and very quick and efficient. Overall, I would recommend IF you can compromise on the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Everything about this hotel is great. The location, staff, rooms, cleanliness. We had breakfast which was delicious and varied, and always had cappuccino which we will miss so much. The ladies managing breakfast were very kind. I don't know their names but if the management of this hotel sees my comment then please tell your staff that they are doing an amazing job. We must say that the pillows in the room were extremely comfortable. The bathroom had a hair dryer which was very convenient. We will definitely come back to this hotel if we visit Rome again. We will recommend it to our friends. Thank you for having us.

We stayed at the Hotel Raffaello for three days at the end of September. The hotel is centrally located (a few blocks from the Colosseum) and is really lovely. The entrance is nondescript and while we were there, surrounded by scaffolding and construction. It is very reasonably priced. Once inside, the staff is very nice (most speak at least some English) and the rooms are wonderful. This is a boutique hotel, so there is only one small elevator and stairs are more convenient. I have no idea where someone would park if one uses a rental car; as street parking is nonexistent (anywhere there is room, a tiny car or scooter is parked). Mass transport and uber are readily available. Masks are required (as they are everywhere in Europe). Breakfast is at the hotel served at a cost of 9 euros, and it is varied and excellent. There are lots of neighborhood trattorias that serve great pizza, pasta, and gelato. Rome is a wonderful city, and staying at this hotel made it even more so.

We arrived for our stay at this hotel to find it boarded up with a sign, in Italian only, and a telephone number. Thankfully the number on the other hotel, Best western, were extremely helpful and managed to honour our booking. I had only had communication with this hotel a couple of weeks before we traveled to arrange an extra night, which they did willingly!! We never did get any answers or responses to our communications. We booked through Travel Republic for the first night and they were useless, no help at all....they would have left us stranded!

We used to stay here every year. If you get a "superior" room, there's a good chance you'll be on the top floor which has a surprise view! This year, the hotel closed, and they refused to refund, so we will never return. It's a shame really, since it was walking distance to the train station, yet not too close. We were able to walk to all the sites, including the Vatican. Wait until the hotel fails and comes under new management, or see if you can pay after or during your stay so they don't defraud you of your money.
