Independence Park Hotel, BW Premier Collection

This hotel run by Best Western is in the perfect location to tour all of the attractions in the area. Everything we wanted to see was walkable, or you could use the hop-on /hop-off tour bus to explore further out. The hotel is in an historic building so don't expect spacious rooms or an extravagant lobby. However, I felt the accommodations were adequate. The room was very quiet and comfortable. I also felt it was a good value for the area and the rate does include a daily breakfast. My lesson learned was that we rented a car for the long weekend and never used it! On top of the rental, I had to pay a parking fee. If just traveling to the area for the Independence Parks and museums, grab some transportation to and from airport. It's all you'll need.

We loved the LOCATION--so close to the history tours we had scheduled. And we loved how QUIET the room was. We both slept well. It was a small queen room but perfectly fine. The breakfast was hot, fresh, and adequate. The only thing keeping us from a five star was the high price. When we had booked previously the price was half of what it was this time--likely due to large demand. Still--we would definitely stay there next time.

Stayed here for a business conference and enjoyed my stay. My room was immaculate and staff are friendly. The location was convenient for my conference, but even if I were a tourist, I would think the location is ideal - steps away from Old City and a couple blocks from historical sites like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

My family and I arrived in Philadelphia for 3 days my husband had a fall requiring hospital treatment and surgery the hotel were extremely supportive with our situation I had to stay ion for 7 extra nights and they did everything they could to help support me and My husband on his discharge the hotel already offers extra things like hot beverages 24 hours and cookies in the afternoon it is a well run hotel by Jessica in the historic area of Philadelphia I can't praise them enough for their help made a difficult situation much more bearable if I could give 10 stars I would We will visit Philadelphia again in the future and will definitely come back here I recommend 100 %

Wonderful property in a fantastic location. Just 25 minuets from the Airport and we were in the heart of so much to see and do. The hotel greeted us warmly and got us checked in early! Fantastic service all around. Walking distance to amazing dining options and so many museums. The room (507) was extremely quite. Bedding was comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. Plenty of closet space and storage for our 4 night visit. Housekeeping did a nice job daily. The bathroom was large and water pressure was great. The room may have been a little small by some standards but for a historic hotel in a historic area the room was comfortable and exceeded the value in my opinion. Breakfast daily was good and a great way to kick start the day. Would happily stay here again.

A very quaint and quiet hotel in the heart of Old City Philadelphia. A perfect place to spend a couple of days in exploring the Old City. Location was such that one could walk anywhere in the Old City part. Even the parking garage was close by

The first room we were given had a pungent odor so strong it honestly made my eyes water. We went to the front desk and were given another room but oddly no apology. The second room seemed fine until we returned later that evening to sleep. The room remained so hot neither my wife nor I were able to sleep. The AC was set to the lowest setting and never came on. We could not exit the parking garage because it said the card the hotel gave us to exit was already used. We did not use it. Thankfully there was an attendant on duty and after 15 minutes of wasted time we were out. I can't comment on the breakfast because after our abysmal night with no sleep we got out of there at 5am and never looked back. The location is very good, the rooms are very small, the gentleman at the desk is borderline rude with zero interpersonal skill and not the least bit welcoming quite frankly he's a little creepy.

First, this hotel is centrally located to most of the sites and museums you might want to visit. Unfortunately, a few issues don't raise my rating. Breakfast is ample, if not a bit boring. Scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon are the centerpiece. None of it's seasoned so grab the salt and pepper. You can make your own waffles and there are breads and bagels for toasting. The single worst part of this hotel is the lack of decent air conditioning. My wife and I were on 5th floor which is the top. When we first arrived it was a bit stuffy so I cranked the air as low as it would go (62 degrees). If it ever got below 69 I would be amazed. We would wake up some nights sweaty and very uncomfortable. I can't recommend this hotel for a summer visit unless they fix this problem.

Last year I made a reservation for this August at the Thomas Bond House, a bed-and-breakfast I had stayed at during my previous trips to Philadelphia. Earlier this year I received an email informing me that my reservation had been cancelled because the Thomas Bond House had been closed. I panicked because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a Philadelphia hotel for the same days at a comparable price. Fortunately, I soon found and made a reservation at the Independence Park Hotel, which is minutes from the former Thomas Bond House in the Old City section of Philadelphia and faces the back of the Museum of the American Revolution. The hotel, part of Best Western's Premier Collection, is convenient to other sites in Old City, such as Penn's Landing, the Betsy Ross House, National Liberty Museum, Benjamin Franklin Museum, Elfreth's Alley and the Powel and Hill-Physick Houses, as well as South Street, Independence Hall and the Constitution Center. There are variety of restaurants in the hotel area. My guidebook, which was published this year, describes Old City as a great place to shop. But on this visit, as with previous visits, I didn't find this to be true. The morning of my arrival day, I received a text message from the hotel, allowing me to pre-register. We arrived hours before the 4 pm check-in time. The desk clerk said we could check-in early for a $30 fee. I said no, thanks. However, he let us leave our luggage with him until we checked in. Parking is available for $28 a day through the hotel at a nearby public garage. You need to stop at the hotel to pick up a tag before parking. The hotel has five floors and 41 rooms. Our room was on the fifth floor but our window faced a wall and not Chestnut Street. In addition to not being scenic, the view made it difficult to determine what the outside weather was like. The room was very quiet. We never heard our neighbors. The hotel only has one elevator but we never had to wait long to use it. The hotel lobby has a seating area with a fireplace and windows that look out on Chestnut Street. Free coffee and other beverages were available in the lobby. Cookies were provided from 4 to 6 pm. You can also buy drinks and snacks, which were reasonably priced. A breakfast buffet is included and served downstairs from the lobby from 7 to 10 am. It included coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, cereal, muffins, rolls, scrambled eggs, bacon and more. Our room was a little on the small side. The queen-size bed, which took up most of the room, had end tables on either side. There was an alarm clock that could also be used as a charger. Opposite the bed was a desk and chair with large television screen mounted overhead. To the left was an armchair and a pole lamp. To the right was a cabinet with a mini fridge inside and a Keurig coffee maker with a selection of coffees and teas on top. In the closet was a safe, a bureau with four drawers, an ironing board and iron. The bathroom only had a shower. The sink, which was a little high, had some counter space. There was a shelf under the sink and a very small shelf over the toilet. We never could get very cold water for drinking out of the sink tap. No matter how much we raised the temperature, the AC always seemed very cold. As the window couldn't be opened, we alternated between turning the AC on and off as needed. The staff was pleasant. When we first arrived we asked for another luggage rack and when we came back to the room we found one sitting outside our door. I would recommend this hotel for its convenient location and boutique size.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Independence Park Hotel. The location is terrific, close to historical sites, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel itself is clean and pleasant and our room was quite comfortable. Staff members were helpful and polite. The breakfast offered is varied and everything was fresh. Parking for the hotel is very reasonable and is located about 1.5 blocks away.

The hotel was clean, the room was small but had everything I needed and the location is amazing. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful.

Recently stayed 5 nights at the IPH on a pleasure, sight-seeing visit. Rooms was small but perfectly suited for someone spending time out and about and only coming back to snooze and rest between attractions. Clean facilities. Excellently maintained. Polite and professional front desk. Friendly breakfast room staff and hallway chats with housekeeping were likewise friendly and welcoming. IPH is conveniently located a short walk from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell (the town's two major attractions). It is in the middle of Old City and if you're a museum, history, or architecture buff, this is the place to stay as everything is nearby and within walking distance. You don't even have to call a rideshare service if you have good working legs (and you'll save a lot of money). I had a few out of area places to visit (Brandywine Art Museum, Valley Forge NP, and Elmwood Zoo) which are all accessible by rideshare. If you like to use public transit to explore the "real" city, the subway and trolley system make it convenient to move around without a car). If you are going to museums and the like, always check hours and dates open prior to your trip and plan accordingly to avoid disappointment (esp if going to Independence Hall and Phil. Museum of Art). The time I was there saw episodes of thunderstorms, so take umbrellas and light rain gear if going in the summer. Ample food places and bars are around. Excellent versions of the signature cheesesteak and Italian hoagie sandwiches of Philly fame can be found around the block on Market. If you're from a town where they ticket jaywalkers (like I am), you have to get used to feeling like a chump when you stand at street corner waiting for the light to turn green--be aware. There are the normal amount of handlers, tweakers, homeless, and cross-dressing nonconformists that you find in any US city, but they don't seem threatening. I felt OK (solo 60ish male traveler) being out on foot at night. IPH has the perk of the Best Western complimentary breakfast which has plenty to offer (eggs, meat, cereal, DIY waffles, toast, etc.) to start off. Cookies in the late afternnon. Wine and cheese reception a little later which I did not take part in. If you want to be near sports events or live music, this might not be your best choice, but If I ever get back to Philadelphia and want to be in the middle of historical surroundings, I will book again here.

Great location; a perfect 10! The standard queen room is so small it is claustrophobic! We upgraded to a King Room which worked for us and was very clean. Breakfast was sufficient, but nothing outstanding. The night front desk staff was not helpful at all. When I would ask a question, he would respond, he did not know. You must park your own car which is about 2-3 blocks away. If the weather is inclement or you have issues walking this could be a problem. There is not much space in the front of the hotel to park and drop off your luggage. We liked the wine and cheese on Wednesday, but wish that was offered every evening. Cookies were available in the afternoon, but they are just store bought. Home baked would be so much nicer.

The location of the hotel can't be beat. It's within walking distance of all the important sites to see in Philly. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. And the breakfast was great. The room was small but it didn't matter because we didn't spend a lot of time in it. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat

No wine glasses, no cork screen, toilet seat was loose, shower door handle wa loose, all reported to the useless front desk. Asked them to arrange a taxi, they directed me to a tablet to input my needs. This is not a premier hotel!!

My husband and I spent 5 nights over the July 4th holiday at Independence Park Hotel. We were traveling with a relative who needed a lot of extra attention and assistance. The staff were warm, caring, competent, and professional. I can't say enough good things about Vanessa, Debbie, Gwen, Julian, and Craig. The hotel was ideally located for exploring the historic sites and museums, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was good. The rooms are very small, but I would definitely return to this wonderfully-run boutique hotel.

Wonderful hotel near restaurants and stores. Very close to I-95. The rooms were clean, they had snacks in the lobby and free breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly. Parking was a lot cheaper than any other hotel. My only critique is that the beds are not true to size. Our room was a queen room but the bed was full size.

I loved my stay here. The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It's incredibly close to Independence Hall and all of the historical sites. It's across the street from The Museum of the American Revolution. The metro station (2nd street) was one block away. The room was clean and quiet, with a small fridge, and numerous outlets. Elevator was super fast. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty good (eggs, bacon, etc.). I love the Old City neighborhood. There were numerous restaurants within a block of the hotel. I would stay here again.

Made a reservation months in advance of our two night stay. A review of the reservation a week or so before our stay showed a lower rate for one of the nights. I was able to make that change. Point being: Make an early reservation but check the room rates periodically. Now, I strongly recommend this property: Great staff; very adequate breakfast buffet; great bathroom/toilet/shower; adequate bed and room accommodations; and, most of all, great location. Loads of restaurants nearby. Reservations a must. Had Moroccan food at Malooga. Not to be missed. Some of the city's best restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk away. Parking at the recommended garage was a cinch. Only a short walk away. No such thing as street parking or free hotel parking in downtown. Oh, and all the tourist attractions are easily walked to. Enjoy your stay. We'd definitely return.

Ideal location across the street from Museum of the American Revolution, and a few blocks walk to Liberty Bell & Independence Hall. Precommunication via email and texts were professional, inviting and welcoming. Staff were friendly, especially thevwonan in charge of breakfast room. Lots of choices for breakfast, including cooked oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt and boiled egss for eating healthier. Good bacon, too! The afternoon cookies and Wednesday wine & cheese were great. I noticed that the front desk staff oersonbwas helpful and gracious as people needed to check in early or leave bags for later retrieval. I felt like I got premier service! Checkout was easy and efficient

Fantastic location. Within walking distance to all historical sites, and directly across the street to the Revolutionary War Museum. Parking was a short walk around the corner. Decent continental breakfast. We would defiantly stay here again.

This was the perfect place to stay for a three day trip in Philadelphia. Great restaurants, walking distance to almost all the museums and the hop on hop off bus so much history here and a very friendly staff quiet nights plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel was a big factor in making our visit to Philadelphia a success. The location was right in the middle of the historical sites we wanted to see, was safe for walking to nearby restaurants, and was quiet at night. The staff was friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast and its choices provided a convenient start for each day. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

You could not find a better place to stay to explore colonial Philadelphia than the Independence Park. All the major must-see sites are within a few blocks from the hotel. The hotel itself is a historic landmark. Rooms are cozy but very functional. Wifi was excellent. I loved all the special touches -- cookies, water and coffee in the lobby; the wine and cheese reception on Friday; the variety at the breakfast buffet, including things like chia seeds and fresh blueberries. When one day turned chillier while we were there, they turned on the lobby fireplace so we could warm up when we returned to the hotel. I got a call about a left item that let me retrieve it before we left town. The staff were warm and friendly.

This is a fabulous option in Old City Philadelphia. The rate was awesome. The rooms were clean and updated. The complimentary breakfast is spectacular, you can even get a Liberty Bell waffle. It's right across the street from the Museum of the American revolution and just a couple of blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. A Sonny's cheesesteak is one block over and there's easy access from the hotel. Parking is straightforward and just less than a block away, we had no problems. Loved our stay. Would definitely recommend and go back!

This was an amazing experience from the start. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, especially Craig and housekeeping. The room was large, tastefully furnished, clean and with character. The breakfast was better than any continental breakfast I've had at many stays across the US. Blueberries so fresh! I will be staying here every time I come to Philly. Outstanding location and employees.

I had a fantastic stay and I'm looking forward to staying again when I'm in town. All staff were really kind and friendly. The hotel is beautiful, the price was excellent, my room was lovely, comfortable, and clean! Cool perks held during the week in the lobby. There are some really great local restaurants that are well within walking distance, as well other places of interest. I'm sorry I only found this gem recently!

My family of three came here for spring break in March 2026. We were only in Philadelphia for two nights and one full day, with the plans to explore all of the history. And we couldn't have picked a better location. So conveniently located within walking distance to Revolutionary things that you would want to see in Philadelphia. We got a king suite, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. One of the best beds we've ever slept in at a hotel. The pullout couch was less comfortable (pretty thin mattress), but it worked for our little family (our 10-year-old son slept on it). My son and I enjoyed the waffle with the liberty bell on it. The staff could not have been nicer, and the older building is beautiful. Would stay there again and recommend to anyone.

This historic hotel is very convenient to ALL the historical attractions in Old City Philly. The room had everything we needed and the staff were very kind. Breakfast everyday was a huge plus.

We had a wonderful stay here at the independence Park Hotel. We got caught in a snowstorm which hit Philadelphia so we actually ended up staying in the hotel most of the days we were there. However, we were not too disappointed as the room was very comfortable, the staff was super helpful and friendly and the location was close to most of the main attraction so we managed to get Get out for a walk. I would highly recommend staying here as the overall experience for us was wonderful.

We stayed 3 nights to attend a family wedding. This is a little gem in the heart of a historic city! Service was great, everyone we encountered was kind and helpful. The room was a bit small but the ability to walk everywhere made up for this. Coffee, cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby were a nice touch! We would also highly recommend Forsythia, the restaurant and bar next door. This was definitely good value for the price and we would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in Philly for two days in November. It's a great time to be there - no crowds, no waiting in line to see something, and the Independence Park Hotel is a great place to stay! Location: You can't beat it - it's right across the street from the American Revolution museum; Franklin's museum is down the block; the liberty bell, the mint and other attractions are an easy walk away. Room: We stayed on the top floor with 20 ft ceilings in a superior room with a seating area. The beds were incredibly comfortable. What they could do better: The (included) breakfast was about the level you'd find at a typical Comfort Inn - a DIY waffle maker station, some salty eggs-from-powder and some lackluster bacon. The TV was also pretty primitive, offering only local real-time channels. We were finishing up Ken Burn's American Revolution and had to watch on my PC. To be aware of: There's no parking, but they do have a deal with a nearby multistory lot for about $28 per day. If your interest in Historical Philly, you'll have no need of a car. Extra great care: The Concierge/Front Desk manager was incredibly helpful and gave us some great dining recommendations, definitely try "Fork" and right-next-door, "Forsythia". Both offered incredible meals. Overall, a great stay in a great city with a pretty good hotel!

It was a just Ok hotel. By the photos you think that it could be fancy or beautifull, but it is a simple old hotel. It has its charm but nothing more

I stayed at this location for a concert at the Theater Of Living Arts. The location is in a safe place! It is in walking distance to many of Philly's coolest attractions and many wonderful food spots! The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about all the offered amenities. The rooms, halls, Atrium, and lobby were all very clean! I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the city!

I can't say enough about this hotel! We loved it. It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. We could walk to most places. We had a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the interior courtyard which meant it was very quiet and meant a good night's sleep. The breakfast which is included in the price was excellent. There's something for everyone! The room is on the smaller side but that didn't bother us at all. We would definitely stay there again.

Stayed at this historic hotel for the 250 Marine Corps Birthday celebration. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Classic atmosphere and quiet even with highly attended events in the area. The hotel is location is walking distance to pubs, restaurants and historic sites which was what we wanted. If you need to venture further out Uber/Lyft drive arrived within 5 minutes during times with busy events all around the city. Highly recommend!

My room wasn't cleaned any night I stayed. When I informed the desk clerks, they were dismissive, but said they would take care of of it. They never did.

The Best Western Independence Park is a great place, complete hotel! Great Location Great Room Great Service Great Lobby We checked in and were impressed by the lobby fireplace and location immediately. Our king room was smaller but well appointed, bathroom shower and amenities are spot on. Our bed was perfect, the room was quiet and the thermostat was well adjusted, very comfortable, tv channel variety was good; all in order. The cleanliness of the room was grade A, no dust, dirt and housekeeping kept our linens in good order. The Morning Lady at the Desk was exceptional! Nice, through and on the ball. Thanks - hope to stay again!

The front desk team need to learn customer service . I did not get a nice person once ! It seemed like I was bothering their scrolling ! Rooms are clean but small . Great location Coffee/ tea service a plus !

Very good place to stay in the old city. It was quiet, and while the rooms are small, they are adequate and comfortable. Parking was inexpensive for what you would expect with in and out privileges at a garage close by. Breakfast was fine. It was very good value. I'll come back next time I'm coming to Philly.

This historic, boutique hotel, just two blocks from Independence Hall and nestled among restaurants and bars is a gem. Our room was very clean, quiet, and nicely appointed with a coffee machine, safe, desk with a rolling chair, a soft chair and coffee table, and mini-fridge. Plenty of hangers, which is not common and always appreciated. Good WiFi access and good security. Our first floor room was on the smaller size but with incredibly high ceilings, making it feel elegant. The only window looked out over the basement atrium (where breakfast is served), but no matter; we weren't in Philly yo look out the window. The staff were incredibly nice, and it was a bonus that their off-site parking (only a block away) was $28/day, unbelievable for a big city. The small lounge had coffee and tea always available. The buffet breakfast was typical for such offerings.

Very happy my friend recommended this hotel. Arrived early, paid the $15 early check in fee to unload car and take car of parking it. Parking lot around corner $28 a day thru hotel. Hotel was lovely and clean.Staff all very nice. We booked a Queen room and had no complaints. Yes there was no view but we were out all day so view wasn't necessary. Fridge, safe, coffee maker, TV, desk with a roll out chair plus a club chair. Complimentary breakfast was better than many places we've been. Coffee and water available in lobby area. Cookies in the afternoon. Location is excellent. A few blocks to liberty bell. Hop on bus stop across street at Independence Hall. Lots of eating establishments in walking distance

The hotel is in a great location, plus is a comfy place to relax after exploring the city. Just a couple of blocks from Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. And in the other direction, two blocks from the Betsy Ross House. Lots of restaurants nearby. Another reason for choosing this hotel was the free breakfast and available parking option. Our room faced Chestnut St. which I felt was worth the extra money. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful.

Loved the location. The hotel is incredibly clean, from the public areas to the room. The breakfast, afternoon cookies and evening wine and cheese are such nice extras. The room was beautiful! The staff is friendly and they run an amazing property.

The location was convenient, and the room was clean and well-appointed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and was excellent. The only minor downside is that parking is off-site, about a block away—but otherwise, a great stay overall. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is great, perfectly located in the historic district and within walking distance of lots of sights. We really enjoyed the old time charme of the hotel. The room was clean and spacious enough for our needs. The staff at check in and breakfast were very friendly.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Independence Park Hotel on a recent September weekend trip to Philadelphia. All the staff were very friendly and courteous. We had a beautiful room overlooking Chestnut Street, and it was extremely clean. The hotel has all the amenities that you would want, and at the same time, maintains the attention to the individual guest that marks a boutique hotel. We would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is top notch. Clean, well maintained. The staff is competent and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. On top of that, the location is perfect.

Location is great, walking-distance near everything from restaurants to ACME grocery store to clothing stores like H&M and 5 Below, CVS etc. Room was super quiet, cozy. Comfy bed, pillows. Breakfast was delicious, staff super friendly. Hotel overall gorgeous, very clean, atmosphere is very welcoming. Front desk staff super friendly. Hotel deserves 6 stars. Only con is the "homeless" stumbling around and down the street 2-3 blocks away even during middle of day, don't recommend after-dark strolls by yourself but that is typical of most of Philly today. Imagine if the city ever gets cleaned up this hotel will be double expensive and double booked and for good reason!

If you want a first-rate stay in Philadelphia, then I highly recommend the Independence Park Hotel. Great customer service, friendly and professional staff, nicely appointed rooms, and an outstanding complimentary morning breakfast. Across the street from the Museum of Revolutionary War History, one block from the Independence Mall and Benjamin Franklin Print Shop and Museum, easy walk to Reading Terminal Market and many more historical sites.

We stayed for 2 nights in this well located hotel. Communications before arrival were very good and we were allocated a nice spacious room fronting the street. Bathroom was “compact and bijou” :) but wasnt a problem. There was some street noise but didn't affect our sleep quality Breakfast was a good bonus and sufficient to start the day. All staff were cheery and very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel when travelling to Philly and good value for money.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at the Independence Park Hotel while visiting our daughter. The location couldn't be better, with many of the historic sights within walking distance. While we didn't use public transportation, it's easily accessible from the hotel. Our room was very comfortable, and we didn't hear any noise from outside. Breakfast was ample, with a variety of choices, and the staff was always smiling and very kind. Everything was very clean, both in the public spaces, as well as our room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Independence Park Hotel, and hope to return on future trips to Philadelphia!

Recently stayed at the independence Park hotel. Had a wonderful stay. Beautiful historic building, great rooms, great friendly service, great hot breakfast. Would stay there again when in Philadelphia. Excellent location for seeing the historic sites in old City. Located right across the street from the museum of American revolution and a block or so from liberty bell center.

I was in the hotel business for years and now travel internationally extensively. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but we really didn't need much space and the bathroom had ample counter space which is always a plus. Definitely will rebook again for next trip to Philly.

Great location for what we were there for. Hotel itself is charming; it's old antique with high ceilings in the room. Bedding was comfortable. We were not told to keep the key card inserted in the slot on the wall by door; it's the on/off for electricity in the whole room! Not the friendliest front desk staff (on either day we were there) at all!. Seriously management, front desk is the first impression to the stay and we did not feel that warm welcome. The parking situation was easy to use/find and just a short 2 block walk. The breakfast was great and the highlight of our stay! Waffles w toppings, oatmeal with toppings, meat and eggs, yogurts, juices. Breakfast staff ladies were amazing and a complete opposite of the unamazing at front desk. Our stay was overall decent. We were just there for 1 night anyway.

Upon my arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to see my room has been upgraded to a spacious one enough to fit a crib for my little one at no extra charge! Their service is EXCEPTIONAL!!! Right from when I spoke with the manager, Jessica to make a reservation to the seamless check-in, their very courteous and friendly staff, the complimentary afternoon cookies (which I always look forward to 😊), Wednesday wine and cheese night and the complimentary breakfast. I can go on and on…. 😁 Overall, we had a memorable and enjoyable stay. First time here and we'll definitely stay again anytime we visit Philadelphia. Pleasant stay of 3 nights except Saturday night as traffic in front of hotel had some loud, noisy cars late into night. Our room faced the street, suggest interior room! Room had good A/C, not loud. Pillows not great, sofa bed needs upgrade as my son stayed on this. Had breakfast every morning which is nice start to day. They did provide extra blankets as I had requested upon making reservations which I appreciated.

I stayed at the hotel with my son. This was my second stay at the hotel, having stayed there last year. Overall it was pretty good, I would give it 4 1/2 stars. The breakfast items are varied and plentiful, and the breakfast attendant, Sandra, was very polite. There are many channels on the TV, and the room (king bed with sofa, street view) was spacious, if a bit cluttered with furniture. My son enjoyed the afternoon cookies! My main complaint is that housekeeping seems to be a bit lax with cleaning the bathroom. When I checked in, there were a few hairs in and around the shower. The housekeeper(s) also did not clean all of the hair out of the shower or off the floor each day while I was staying. I picked it up myself, but they may need a reminder to check this when cleaning. As for noise, I heard music each night around 10 PM that lasted for a while. I don't know if it was from a guest or outside. I understand that there is city noise, especially with a street view room, but it was a bit annoying. Overall it was a pretty good stay. The front desk agents I interacted with were polite and helpful. I would likely stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location if you want to be in the Old City. However, parking is around the corner and the hotel did not have one of its passes the first night we stayed there, so we did not get the discount. There is a great variety of food at the complimentary breakfast. The main drawback is the small room.

Second year staying overnight with our family on our way to The Jersey Shore. Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great breakfast. Access to fitness center .3 miles down the street. Would definitely return! 24 hour coffee in lobby and cookies a nice touch

Small rooms, typical for historic building, but modern. Employees nice and helpful. Cookies every afternoon. Wine and cheese snack before dinner. Clean, daily room tidy.

I have been staying at the Independence Park Hotel in Philly for more than a decade, spending on average 25+ nights a year there. It is the best bargain for the price that I have ever encountered. The staff are super friendly. The facilities are spotless and the rooms comfortable. Puts much more expensive hotels in other locations that I stay at to shame. We will definitely come back to this hotel! The staff was great and we especially thought that Martin, in the Breakfast room, was great. The buffet was hot and well-tended and everything was really lovely! We got the "history" package and since the hotel was right across from the American Revolution Museum (also outstanding!) it was very convenient!

The best part of the hotel is the location for sure, apart from that however, it is very underwhelming at best. The quality of the room was poor as there was barely any natural light or space for two people in a queen room coupled with a distinct unpleasant smell. The service was also sub par and the hotel lacked basic amenities (e.g., dental kits) that any other hotel would have had .

Lovely boutique hotel in an ideal location to explore historical Philadelphia. Many family members enjoyed staying at this hotel during a family wedding weekend. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and our 5th floor street facing King room was large and quiet. We appreciated the in room mini fridge, Keurig and iron. The lobby gathering area provided ample seating and a nice table for playing games, plus the lemon water, free afternoon cookies, and 24/7 coffee & tea was a very nice touch! Many enjoyed the free breakfast as well. We highly recommend this hotel!

This was our first time to visit Philadelphia. Of course we wanted to do the main attractions. The Independence Park Hotel was a perfect location for doing just that. We were able to walk everywhere except the ball park to see a Phillies game. The breakfast is very good with real plates and utensils to cut down on landfill waste. Choices were good. Breakfast room staff were courteous and they kept the serving containers full. In the bedroom the Carrier air conditioner was so quiet you didn't even know it was on. Choice of pillow firmness/softness. Quiet room on top floor. Tea or coffee always available in lobby. We will stay here again on our next visit to Philadelphia.

Staying at the Independence Park Hotel was a great value. My wife and I joined several other couples to take in the historic venues of Philadelphia, several of which are within a stone's throw of the hotel. What made our stay especially enjoyable was the hotel's proximity to many of Philadelphia's finest restaurants. Whether you are a family with children or a retiree with friends, this hotel will make a visit to Philadelphia a memory to treasure as well as a meaningful learning experience.

Don't let the Best Western branding fool you. This is a great little boutique style hotel. Only about 8 rooms per floor, which is super cool. Intimate lobby with friendly, casual staff Free hot cider in the winter, flavored ice waters in the summer. Great location, a couple of blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Tons of restaurants (gobs of cheese steak options!) on the street behind the hotel. Rooms, while smallish, seem to either be fairly recently renovated or very well maintained. Modern bath with glass shower stall.

Lovely historic hotel on Chestnut Street at the heart of old Philly. Very few such hotels left in the world. We enjoyed our stay at this one immensely. Run excellently. We give our highest recommendations and add that this is what it should be like.

We came into Philly to see the Eagles parade and loved our stay here. Our room was very comfortable and very clean. Everyone that we encountered from the front desk, housekeeping and breakfast staff were extremely nice. There are plenty of great places nearby to eat and drink. Parking was a breeze. And we enjoyed the cookies!

To find this hotel in the heart of the historic district, the reason for our visit, at both the price and quality, exceeded our expectations. It has the best features of a boutique hotel such as breakfast included, a friendly and helpful staff, and cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby. The room size, while somewhat smaller than more expensive places, was perfectly adequate with for a king size bed, sofa, desk and large closet. It is directly across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution and two blocks from Carpenter and Independence Hall. Book early for the 250 celebration!

The National Tourist Guide Association had their 2025 conference in Philadelphia. We booked this entire hotel for our conference guests for 2 nights. The conference was a tremendous success, and it all started with this hotel! The guests were thrilled with their quaint, clean rooms, a wonderful hot breakfast with Liberty Bell waffles, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate 24/7 and a wine and cheese party. Not the mention, it was in the heart of everything and so very convenient. The staff bent over backwards to keep everyone comfortable. Excellent experience for all.

Clean, comfortable, with welcoming foyer, nice room, and good breakfast. Close to all the historic things I wanted to walk to, but nearby bus stop to take me across town to galleries/museums too. Really nice french Bistro around the corner on 2nd St.

The hotel has lots to do nearby and plenty of great places to eat. I loved the historic, organic feel of the area. I appreciated all of the breakfast variety and the little extra touches that you don't normally see in a chain hotel, even just simple things like offering toaster pastries and different brands of yogurt. The daily hot chocolate bar and afternoon cookies were nice surprises as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will return on our next visit to see our friends who live two blocks away. The Museum of the American Revolution across the street, coffee shops and restaurants abound, and certainly too much to see in a weekend all made the location hard to beat. The staff at the hotel were truly outstanding and the front desk and breakfast bar staff were accommodating. Debbie, who did housekeeping, was very warm and always met us with a smile. In the lobby the hotel served coffee and tea, had fresh baked cookies in the afternoon, had a hot chocolate bar and had other special events which were nice touches. The hotel felt spacious which was unique amongst so many small bed and breakfasts. The room was updated. We had a relaxing get away. We were very pleased with our stay.

Spent the day & night with my wife on a date enjoying the holiday festivities. Loved the location, parking was 1/2 block down the street, and we could walk every where. We did the American Revolution museum, Academy of Music, and a wonderful meal on Chestnut Street. We will definetluy stay here again

One of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. Everything was perfect. Seriously I have no complaints and that's saying a lot. It was quiet, clean and ticked all the boxes. Good location, helpful staff. I appreciated how nice the room was designed and decorated. It would've been nice if the parking was attached to the hotel but you can always have it all and they did provide a parking fob and pretty easy access one block away to the parking.

We love this hotel- it's the best! Fantastic location, super comfortable, and wonderful staff, who helped us through an emergency involving 6 stitches! And all the little things- fluffy pillows, bathroom amenities and accessible shower, a TV that was easy to use, a delicious breakfast- made it the perfect place to stay. The best!

This hotel ticks all the boxes. Excellent location: you can walk to Independent Park, waterfront, Old Town. Excellent facilities: room is big, modern, super clean, breakfast room super well organised with lots of choices, front desk area is very nicely decorated with coffee areas and evening receptions. Excellent staff: all the staff members (housekeeping, front desk, breakfast room) are super attentive and very friendly. It's very rare nowadays to receive this level of service in hospitality.

Wonderful stay! I chose this location based on its close proximity to the metro, but this hotel exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, the staff went our of their way to be friendly and to make our stay comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful. We also appreciated the wine and cheese night on Wednesday and the luggage storage. A huge plus is that it was a quiet hotel. Thanks for a great stay!

I highly recommend this hotel if you're wanting to see the historic part of Philly. The staff was WONDERFUL and helped me with any questions. The bed was extremely comfortable, the breakfast buffet was very nice and they even had hot apple cider and cookies in the lobby. It's location is GREAT. Right across the street from the American Revolution Museum and up the street from the Independence Hall and Liberty Bell. As a single female, I did just fine in the area too, but I didn't go out at night too much.

We stayed here for two nights. Reservation process and check in were easy. We received an email with check in instructions. Park in front of the hotel to drop off luggage and get parking instructions. Parking is just a block away in a garage. There is a daily fee. We didn't take our car out once we parked so not sure about in and out privileges. The hotel is so well located that we didn't need our car. We walked to all the sites we wanted to see, and restaurants are very close. Daily breakfast of both hot and cold items is available. In the evening, they have cookies and beverages in the lobby all the time. One night they have cheese and crackers, but we weren't there for that. The room was very spacious with a high ceiling for the location. We had an inside room, but it had two windows that faced an opening to the outside, so the room was not gloomy. The bathroom was also spacious with a sink, toilet and shower. A hairdryer was provided. In the closet there was a steamer, safe, chest, iron and ironing board. There was one luggage stand. In room coffee was also provided. All in all, a very comfortable room. The desk in the room had plenty of outlets to charge our electronics. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful as we entered and exited. The location was busy and well-lit at night as we walked to dinner. I highly recommend this property.

My son and I had a very pleasent stay at this hotel. We had a high floor, street view room but you wouldn't know it. Very quiet. The staff go out of their way to help you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is afternoon cakes and cookies available plus a free cheese and wine couple of hours if you are here on a Wednesday. The room was spacious and clean. I like having an empty mini fridge that we could stock ourselves. Just a few steps away form the Liberty Bell. This hotel was the right choice.

Our room was an ideal set up for mom and grown son — and the space on the 5th floor with beautiful high ceilings and windows was lovely. We were attending the Philadelphia Film Festival. The location to the film venues, and museums, eating places, the river and green space was just perfect. Off site but close-by parking was very easy to access.

The hotel staff was helpful in parking questions and returning our parking pass. The room was very comfortable. Being right in the Historical District made our sightseeing relaxing. The restaurants were all within walking distance. Would highly recommend this hotel anytime!

Wonderful location, The Independence Park Inn is a hidden gem. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. For being in the heart of the historic area, our room was very quite. All of the staff members were very helpful and courteous. We would definitely stay there again when in Philadelphia.

Wow, what a location - smack opposite the Museum of the American Revolution! If you are here for history of Philadelphia before, during and after the Revolution, this location cannot be bettered. Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are just two blocks away. Despite its downtown location, the streets were deserted and silent at night. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and happy to help. Our room had a large and very comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and an immaculately appointed bathroom. The decor of the room and hotel is in great shape, no problems there. Everything that was supposed to work, worked. There is a buffet breakfast, served in a subterranean room (it's better than it sounds!), where guests can help themselves to exactly what they want. There's plenty of staff to keep everything replenished and to remove used dishes. There is a small but comfortable sitting-room by the front door.

Nice clean hotel that is very close to everything in Old City. The staff was very helpful and had lots of ideas about places to eat nearby. The full buffet breakfast was also very good. We we there during the debate and felt safe even with the protests just down the street. Would definitely stay here again!

The location is great, across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution and only a few blocks from Independence Hall. We didn't use the subway, but there is a station a few blocks away. There are lots of restaurants within an easy walk. The breakfast is a fairly standard hotel buffet, which has good variety but nothing to write home about. But they have real plates and silverware and an excellent attendant. They had cookies in the late afternoon and a wine and cheese hour on Wednesday evening. The room was a bit small with a shower but no bathtub, which is fine with me, but not with my wife. Fortunately, we didn't stay long enough for that to be a problem. The single queen bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Altogether, I would recommend this hotel with reservations. You'll have a very nice stay if you get a good deal and don't plan to be in the room much. But it can be a bit overpriced for what you get.

This is my favorite hotel in Philadelphia. It's in the heart of the museums and and historical sites, easy walking distance to great restaurants. It's also quiet, clean, has BREAKFAST, and all of the staff go above and beyond in graciousness. The rooms are small and cozy, so if you're planning to stay all day in the room this may not be the place for you, but if you want a comfortable haven after a day in the city, this is your place. I travel to Philly a lot for work and I've stayed in all the hotels in that area, but this is the only one I use now.

We enjoyed the convenient location, clean rooms and nearby parking. The hot breakfast had a variety of options and was good. Staff was personable. The renovation of the historic building was attractive. Cookies in the afternoon is always a bonus.

We had a great stay at the Independence Park Hotel BW. The room was very clean. Shower was spotless. The rooms have been updated, so some of the photos here on Trip Advisor should probably be deleted at this point. The hotel is in a nice area just a couple of blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. We found the entire city to be quite walkable from where we were. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Philadelphia. We had a great stay.

We recently stayed a night here and had a great experience. Very nice accommodations in a historic hotel. Staff was kind, welcoming and, very helpful, which I was very happy about as we had to cancel a reservation at a nearby hotel due to lackluster customer service. Very glad that we made the change to Independence Park! Great location near many sights and food/drink options. The fact that they have a parking option is great (not on site but literally right around the corner) and they have a convenient loading area right in front of the hotel door. For those concerned about safety, they require a key to enter the front door of the hotel after hours. I highly recommend the Independence Park Hotel for your next stay in Philadelphia. I know I plan to stay there next time

Overall it's a great motel. You have to park the car yourself and it's about a block away but that's not really an issue. They don't have large luggage carriers, just a dolly. The room we had was rather small but it was very nice with nice amenities. The location was ideal. I would definitely stay there again.

The Independence Park Hotel is a wonderful boutique hotel with a fantastic staff, presentation, and dedication to a nuovo historical experience. The rooms are just as such, modern and comfortable. The beds are comfortable with the great accents with bathrooms bright and sleek. Also, the bonus is it's proximity to all things Old City/Center City while maintaining a peaceful stay.

Went for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is quaint, well-kept, quiet. All of the staff were friendly and took time to make conversation. My room was clean and didn't have an overwhelming cleaning product smell (which is a big deal for me). Its location is fantastic for touring historic areas and lots of restaurants. The complimentary breakfast buffet was a nice surprise for me as well.

What a great stay. Even tho we were there just 2 nights, the staff was terrific and responded to our requests graciously. The room was very clean and showed little wear, availability of the mini-fridge and room safe convenient, bathroom clean and modern, bed comfortable. no street noise to speak of (we requested a room away from the elevator), AC cool despite a heat wave, and location perfect for our walking tours of the historic district. We felt safe in the hotel, and appreciated that the parking lot was lower priced than any of the nearby hotels--although navigating back and forth to the lot at night was a bit confusing as we didn't really know the streets very well--we had ample time in the loading zone in front of the hotel to unpack our bags/belongings for check-in and check-out. Would visit again next time we make it to Philly.

Great customer service. Very comfortable room. One particular staff member on the cleaning service was EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND KIND on my first morning at hotel. I can't remember her name but I certainly appreciated her assistance!! Very conveniently located in historic old town and very close to subway and bus lines. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel was so inviting and full of the kindest people. Breakfast was nice, and had a good time range of availability. Cookie time!! is not to be missed, as is Wine and Cheese Wednesdays. You will feel like you've been welcomed to a community when staying here. The room was small, but perfect for just little ol me, and very clean and modern. Great water pressure in the shower. It's also SO close to historic parks and museums, as well as excellent food. Forsythia, Amada, and Buddakan are steps away, and for an extra 100 yards, you'll find fantastic bars and restaurants at lower price but high quality food. I will stay here every time I travel for work in Philly!

My 12 year old daughter and I stayed here for three nights. I think we may have booked the smallest room and it was cozy but really fantastic in every way - clean, comfortable and quiet. Every part of our experience was excellent and I'd recommend this hotel. The staff were always helpful and welcoming, great breakfast room, and perfect location for seeing the sites. You can walk to everything - museums, sites, restaurants.

My husband and I went to Philadelphia for a short vacation. It was our first trip to Philadelphia and we wanted to make it enjoyable. We looked at the locations and reviews and chose Independence Park Hotel, 235 Chestnut Street, and this was the best choice we could have made! The location of the hotel is in the heart of the historic city and walking distance from waterfront. This is a great plus! But what is the most important - you feel a valued, respected and unique person in this hotel. All personnel are super helpful, respectful, trying to do the best for you - sincere care and human touch. The Manager - Jessica - sometimes stays at the front desk and talks to customers and you can feel that she cares. This was the greatest advantage and bonus. Also, the hotel is very clean - the room, bathroom, hallways, elevator, breakfast room - everywhere! Thoughtful perks in the form of free coffee/tea/cookies in the reception are very pleasant also and the breakfast is as you need to set yourself for a long day of enjoyment and very nice personnel in the breakfast room also - lighting up your day with a morning smile:) Thank you, Jessica and the crew! Well done. We hope to come again!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Independence Park Hotel! If we return to Philadelphia, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the old city. We stayed for 5 days and walked everywhere. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, with a great breakfast and extremely helpful staff! The extras made it even more special, such as tea and cookies and the wine & cheese on Wednesday evenings! Overall, excellent!

This hotel is perfectly placed for walking and visiting sites in the Old City. It's right across from the Museum of the American Revolution; three short city blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell; close to numerous pubs, restaurants, bars, cafes and bus stops; and short walk to the waterfront at Penn Landing. Our room was modern and clean, had all the tech updates, the bed was comfortable and we could operate the a/c ourselves, which was a plus, as it was 95 outside when we visited. Good value for the money spent - including a full American breakfast. The staff is very pleasant and helpful - we asked numerous questions about site-seeing and getting around. There is no onsite parking - but the parking garage is only 2 blocks away, so no problem there as we weren't going to use our car at all on our visit.

The hotel is beautiful and the beds are wonderful - slept like a baby. The entire staff (from the front desk to maid service) went over and above to make our staff relaxing and enjoyable. The breakfast was yummy and parking arrangement were seamless. Fabulous stay from beginning to end!

The number one feature of this hotel is the location. It is so close to Independence Park and very accessible to public transit. We stayed for an end of school year family trip. The hotel has a boutique feel and the historic elements are very cool. We had a queen and sleeper sofa interior view room, which was a little tight for a family of three but we made it work. The hotel room was very clean and the linens were nice. I give kudos to the housekeeping staff because it was top notch throughout the stay, and I appreciated the daily cleaning which made coming back to the hotel room after a long day of sightseeing feel so amazing. My son thought the sofa bed was quite comfortable. While the bathroom was on the small side it was well laid out. We appreciated the large closet in the room for keeping suitcases out of the way and it had a large bureau inside which was good for unpacking clothes. We had the free breakfast several times and it was good for getting started for the day. My son loved the on-theme waffles. There are also several coffee shops nearby that provide a nice option as well. The staff in the breakfast room and throughout the hotel at the front desk and in housekeeping were extremely friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay wasn't satisfying due to the air conditioner wasn't working the room temperature was 72F. I called down the front desk the first night to complain all I was told that it will take an hour to work. Second time I complained the front desk worker stated that he will send the manager an email she can set from her place. Thanks to the housekeeper (Deb) she gave us a fan which helped a bit but the room was still hot. No maintenance guy or the front desk workers didn't come to the room to check out the Air Conditioner. Deb came to see if it was on which it was on. The rating for the hotel I'll be giving is a 2.

The room was comfortable and the bathroom was well-maintained. The room needed a final inspection when I arrived but I only waited a few minutes. Staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast was included with egg, bacon and potatoes on offer amongst other options. The location was ideal for going to Independence Hall and Penn's Landing. Unfortunately, no gym is on the premises. All in all though, I was happy.

The hotel is excellently located in the Old City, There are lots of sites within walking distance, and nearby restaurants as well. The Subway is a a short walk from the hotel and the Philly Plash stops at the corner of 3rd and Chestnut, a few steps away from the hotel. My room was comfortable, with an excellent mattress as well. The room and bathroom have excellent lighting and the stall shower was spacious with a good shower head, The housekeeping staff keeps everything spotless (shout out to Debbie!) .The breakfast buffet has a variety of choices for everyone, and was plentiful. The front desk staff are all very pleasant. It was also quiet for sleeping and I felt very secure as the front door is locked after 7pm and you use your room key for entry.

The location was perfect. Walked everywhere we wanted to go. Parked the car and left it. What a special treat. Everything was spic and span. Everyone was polite and very helpful. Breakfast offered so many wonderful selections. Slept like a baby in the bed. We really enjoyed our recent stay.

We are a family of 5 (3 generations) and we stayed in three separate and different types of rooms. We all had a wonderful stay. The rooms are fabulous and spotlessly clean. The décor is so elegant. We all slept very well and agreed that the beds and bedding can only be compared to sleeping in a cloud!! It's that comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, again spotlessly clean. Location is fantastic! The historic Independence Area is right outside the door. We have recommended the Independence Park Hotel to our friends and family and we will definitely be staying again on our next visit to Philadelphia. Truly loved it!

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. We really enjoyed the hot breakfast. It was nice to start out day without having to find a restaurant. Each time as we came to the hotel or left we saw Michael. He was interesting and was most helpful. He was attentive and thoughtful. In this day and age of ever present computer screens it was so refreshing to talk to a real person. We had a housekeeper that was exceptional. Her name was Debbie. There was another housekeeper on the 5th floor that impressed us but I don't remember her name. The location was great because you don't need a car to stay there. So many great museums and activities were within walking distance. They need to change information on the websites. Our reservation confirmation stated that checkout time was 12 but it is 11. Also there is no business center.

This is a fantastic hotel to stay at in Philadelphia. Great location in the "Old City" for walking and eating! This is an historic hotel with some lovely character and reasonably priced. Very clean and comfortable beds/bedding. We had a two queen with a view - quite spacious. They offer a hardy breakfast each morning which is simple but quite good and most of all, a real time saver to help get the most out of your tourist day. Very pleasant and professional staff.

I have stayed at the Independence Park Hotel for about 30 nights this year, and for many years before 2024. It is one of the very best hotel experiences I have every encountered -- great location, comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean, very reasonably priced, great breakfast and most of all competent, professional and friendly staff. There is nothing negative to say. I would like to single out Craig, Lindsey, Mary, Crystal, Cyllia, Julien and Martin, but really everyone working there is a gem. All of this means great management, so as staff come and go, the operation will remain at a high level.

This was quite a disappointing stay for the price and compared to other reviews. I was looking forward to staying here but think our experience would have been the same or better at a lesser star hotel. First, I specifically wanted a street view and superior room, but when I had to shave a day off our stay, they were unable to keep me in the room I had already reserved. An interior room was more affordable so fine. Perhaps because we didn't have the superior room, the room was small for two of us — it was mainly just the bed. This was unfortunate because it was incredibly hot the weekend we stayed and there was nowhere we could both sit comfortably in the room without getting on the bed. Presumably also because of the heat, the room wouldn't cool below 70 degrees even though we set it lower. Most disappointingly, we apparently missed the window for our room to be cleaned because we left the room for the day at 11:30 or so and housekeeping had already passed us by. We asked for the room to be cleaned in the afternoon, but returned after 6 pm to find it had not been touched and housekeeping had left for the day. I've never had this issue anywhere, at any class of hotel. Our stay was not a travesty but was not at all worth the expensive price and did not match our expectations for some pampering at what is supposed to be an elegant hotel. Presumably this was a fluke and I am glad others have had better experiences.

Comfortable and clean. Great location. Nice front desk staff. Typical Best Western breakfast. Philadelphia is a very walkable city. Check out the Phlash bus which stops right across the street from the hotel. Good restaurants and bars close by.

We were here for a business/anniversary trip. This is a great place and within walking to most of the historic places you want to see. Highly recommend staying here, but beware the rooms are small but very comfortable. The breakfast was really good and the wine, cheese and cookies in the afternoon are a great treat. The watermelon wine was really good.

My wife and I picked this hotel based on location to the attractions we wanted to see. We took advantage of the "Visit Philadelphia" special. It included two tickets to the National Constitution Center and two tickets to the Museum of the American Revolution along with free hotel parking. The entire hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfy and nicely updated. Our only regret was that the room was a little smaller than we hoped for but only a minor drawback to an otherwise great stay. The bath and walk-in shower were fantastic. The included breakfast had coffee, tea and juices and the normal assortment of eggs to waffles which were all tasty, fresh and well maintained. One added feature was being able to eat off of dishes and not the typical polystyrene foam. We are definitely happy we found this gem!

We stayed two nights are the Independence Park Hotel. It was our first visit to Philadelphia. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance. The local restaurants were great. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was clean, historic, and very pleasant.

It's a good version of exactly what you think you're getting. The bed was comfy, the room was spacious--mine had a separate sitting area with a couch, desk, and enough room to do yoga on the floor. It was nicely updated. The location is great and convenient to the metro. The free breakfast was a high-quality version of the standard mid-price-hotel buffet: coffee and juice, cereal and breads, oatmeal, premade cheese omelets, bacon, and potatoes, and the classic waffle station; limited fruit and some yogurt. There's a nice dining area there, and you can also take it back to your room. The A/C in my room was not as responsive as it could have been, but it eventually got to the right temp.

Elevators take a Tarantino runtime to arrive but don't use the staircase or you will end up in a sort of Twilight Zone liminal space between buildings. Hotel was fine, but the staff were absolute sweethearts. Especially Dermot and Shantel.

Loved Michael at the front desk he was fantastic. Very nice room, high ceilings. They are helpful with setting you up with parking once you check in. Very clean. Nice breakfast setup that is restocked and cleaned in real time. Would love to stay here again. Fantastic location, so much to walk to. Also really thought the bed and pillows were plush and comfy. AC worked great!

We had a wonderful experience when we stayed here. From the beautiful decor in the lobby, the location and gorgeous well appointed room and bathroom we were more than happy. The room was on the smaller side but with high ceilings a great bed and pillows and NO outside noise we had a great night's sleep! Parking was included and breakfast was wonderful. The staff was helpful and small touches like cookies and lemon water....if I could give 6 stars I would!

Was a great location in the old part of the city close to everything we wanted to see and do with a quick and easy drive to the ballparks. Spacious rooms and bath, very clean and well kept. It's employees were cheerful as well as very helpful-- and the stay included a good complimentary breakfast each morning, wine and cheese in the evening--- as well as fresh cookies. Perfect.

Had a wonderful stay in Philly with a group (St Croix Orchid Society USVI) The rooms were well appointed, clean and had a hot breakfast included. There was one afternoon that they had cookies and another night wine and cheese (but we were not there for that) The hotel is within walking distance of Independence Hall (need a reservation) and Congress Hall, as well as the Liberty Bell. We also made it to Old City. There is a tapas restaurant three doors down that was very good. Would not hesitate to stay again!

We were thinking of using the gym, but it was two blocks away. Walls are very thin, so you hear your neighbors. Typical Buffet breakfast, but kept very nicely by. Staff.

It's a little on the pricey side but you can't beat Independence Park Hotel for convenience and ease of getting to most of Philadelphia's historic sites. Across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution and only a couple blocks from Independence National Historic Park, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell and the U.S. Mint. Hotel definitely help put a visitor in a colonial frame of mind.

Good: quiet rooms with virtually zero street noise, cookies from 4-6, location is excellent for visiting many historic sites, Keurig coffee machines with Starbucks coffee Mediocre: breakfast was good enough with hot options, breakfast has sturdy plastic dishes which is better than the disposable but definitely not a real dish, no mugs or glasses- just styrofoam or plastic, real cutlery sometimes but not always (seemed to have run out and offered plastic crap at our breakfast), breakfast room coffee was not great, room on the very small side of the spectrum

Very kind hotel staff. This matters a lot because Philly work ethic is terrible. I live 20 minutes away and spent 10 years living in the city. So it was remarkable that your front desk staff is so kind. I love the 24/7 coffee and tea and hot chocolate.

We went for a short weekend trip to Philly. Looked around for a hotel but everything had very high parking fees. Since we drove from NYC, it was something that we needed. I found the Independence Park Hotel and they had a very reasonable parking fee with in-and-out privileges. We ended up leaving the car parked and walked everywhere but it was great to have the option w/o paying extra. The hotel has been recently renovated and our room was perfect. We stayed in room 503. The view wasn't anything special but everything was clean and new. Some pictures in the reviews are from the older rooms. Another thing that we liked was that breakfast was included. Wide variety of hot and cold options. The staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I will not stay there again. Best Western has consistently failed to deliver best guest experiences since 2021. I also had given them multiple opportunities to make it right, but they continue to fail. Best Western has fallen out of my "preferred" hotel choice list. I will not be comfortable recommending any Best Western hotels to anyone. Positives: * Fast check-in and fast check-out by Craig * Walking distance to major landmarks at Independence Hall area * Smaller room but with cozy ambience. * Excellent hot shower temperature and pressure Negatives: * The room temperature was very cold with difficult temperature control to operate, gets colder and colder at night. Raised this issue between 8-9pm, they said they would fix by adjusting it remotely by the maintenance. Never did. It got even colder around 1am, I raised the issue again around 2:30am, the staff on duty called Sri said she would get it fixed. Nothing happened. I called again around 5:30am and Sri said she would come and adjust. Even she came to adjust it, the room temperature still did not change, still very cold. I called the front desk again around 5:45am, Sri told me to wait for another 10-15 minutes for the temperature to go up. It never did. The room remains cold until I checked out at 8am. What I did not appreciate was that they couldn't fix but kept on saying they could, and never did. They were not transparent nor honest. * Terrible breakfast. Bagels were not fresh. Others: * There is no on-site parking. There is temporary parking spot for loading and unloading in front of the hotel. They partner with a garage one big block away for guests to park their cars with a fee. It may seem complicated, but they make it easy and straightforward with good directions on how to get there. Not an issue if you plan to drive. A functional room includes a room where guests can adjust room temperature and that the heating/cooling system can also perform as commanded accordingly. It was a very negative experience. I will not stay there again. Shared issues with Craig at check-out and he waived the parking fee. I told him I would rather the room was functional and pay for the parking. Best Western Hotel Chain is not reliable. There is a Kimpton Hotel Monaco and Renaissance one block away along with other smaller hotels nearby. Try them. Do not stay in this hotel.

The bed and pillows were so comfy! The air conditioner was quiet, cold, and didn't blow on my face. I slept great! The hot chocolate bar was a welcome treat when we got back to the hotel at 10pm on a chilly night. The room was small, but had everything we needed. The location cannot be beat! Only complaint was figuring out the parking situation at the garage. That process could have been a little more clear at check-in. But that is hardly a deterrent from us staying here again the next time we're in town.

We were looking for a value priced hotel for a quick one night stay while visiting family in Philly. This hotel was very nice. It reminded me of some of the small boutique hotels I've stayed at in London. Artfully decorated interior spaces. The rooms themselves were clean and recent,y updated as a result of a fire at an adjacent property a few years back. The lobby had cookies, coffee, hot chocolate. The free breakfast was more than adequate. The neighborhood is amazing. Five stars all around. One note on parking. The garage they use is super affordable at $22 for in and out privileges. I parked at around 10 pm. And while the walk back is well lit, I'd imagine my wife would have been uncomfortable parking herself. The walk was maybe four minutes.

We have been visiting this hotel for many years now. We have stayed here when visiting our son who lives in Philadelphia. A couple times plans changed and the hotel was very understanding and accommodating. When we received news that our son had just died I thought I had made a reservation through Hotels.com but had not done it properly. When we arrived at the hotel staff assured us right away and got us in a room within minutes. We are using them again for people who are coming for our son's funeral. The atmosphere is warm and kind. We are so appreciative of their ability to both a place of celebration and a place of compassion. This is truly a special place.

We were in town for a wedding. The room was comfortable, the shower was fabulous! The free breakfast was very good and the fireplace in the lobby was quite inviting. Will definitely stay there next time we're in Philly!

Our stay here was wonderful! The location is the best to see the top attractions in Philly. The hotel was clean, beautiful, and our room was very quiet. The staff were super friendly and attended to our needs in a timely manner. The breakfast was superb- scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, pastries, oatmeal, and more. There are many restaurants just a block away. The bed and pillows very super comfy. I feel that for the price that we paid we got a very "lux" hotel experience. We would stay here again!

We stayed for the first time at this well located hotel last night and had a fantastic experience. Our room was an interior room on the 5th floor and very quiet. Our room was beautiful, small but spotlessly clean. Very nicely appointed. The bathroom has excellent lighting and even a makeup mirror. The towels are nice, not worn and thin! The exterior doors are locked in the evening and I appreciated this safety measure. A full breakfast was included with our rate in the lower atrium room. It's a buffet breakfast but with real plates, cloth napkins and silverware! At checkout I complimented the gentleman at the front desk and told him how much we enjoyed our stay. We had one very minor issue with our room, so minor I didn't need to report during our stay but did mention it at checkout and he was so on top of it to have the housekeeping make the repair. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. While we did not have time on our one night stay we would have taken advantage of the complimentary use of a nearby gym if time permitted. I highly recommend this hotel!

My husband stayed for two nights and found the room to be very comfortable. Was a small mix up with the room no being ready, but it was fixed right away and we were given a different comparable room. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but the afternoon cookies in the lobby were a nice touch.

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly, including housekeeping who said good morning and wanted to make sure I had a great stay when I left. The hotel is beautiful - the entrance, reception area, and rooms. Clean and well kept. Shower is very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Philly. It's also very conveniently located, right in the historic area. Easy to walk around from there.

This is the second time we have stayed here and think very highly of the hotel. It is beautifully decorated and the staff from the front desk to the cleaning people are all very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with darkening shades and little sound from the outside. They are modern and equipped with state of the art shower and sink. The breakfast buffet was very good and all in all we enjoy staying here. It is a great location as well.

My wife & I were on a road trip from Atlanta area to Canada & back; we wanted to visit the historical sites in Philadelphia and this hotel was in a great location, plus the reviews looked good. It was a perfect choice & I highly recommend the hotel! It's right across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution (perfect place to start your American history lesson!) and fairly short walk from Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, etc. Good restaurants all around the hotel within a very short walk too. Philly parking is a stretch, but public parking deck was a block away and hotel gave excellent directions on how to get there and then added the fee to your hotel bill which made things a lot easier. Room was great and the breakfast was fine too. They used real plates and utensils (no plastic!) WE stayed 3 nights and it was well worth it!

Excellent stay in old city. Historic hotel recently updated interior with a modern but still tasteful design. Location is convenient for exploring old city landmarks. Definitely a step above similar price points in this area. Nothing too fancy but Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I were in town for dinner, a Philly Fringe show, and brunch with our daughter. The check in was flawless, fast and efficient. When we entered the room my husband immediately said, "I'd stay here again". We do frequent overnights in Philly for concerts or special events and have stayed at hotels in Old City, and this one was the best value we've found.

Can't think of any negatives to say about our experience staying in this hotel. We arrived before check in time knowing that it was very unlikely our room would be ready. The front desk clerk stored our luggage for us & promised to call as soon as the room was ready. He called about 20 minutes later. When we returned to check in and every time we left the hotel or returned, the reception clerk greeted us or wished us a good time while out. There was free ice cold lemon water available all afternoon. Free cookies which were very tasty available for a couple of hours in the afternoon. This hotel was recently renovated so all amenities in the room (& lobby & breakfast area) were clean and new but the building retains some of it's original architectural details making it a very nice unique place to stay. Our room was facing the street on the 3rd floor. You could hear NOTHING! In the evening when we left to eat, as soon as we walked out to the street you could hear music playing quite loud and the noises of cars passing but in the room not a thing could be heard. We never even heard any other guests coming and going. The breakfast was tasty and varied. The buffet was kept clean and stocked by a dedicated attendant (unlike some hotels where the breakfast is also the responsibility of the reception staff who may be too busy to properly look after it). The location of the hotel was also great. It's right across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution, a few blocks from all the sites comprising the Independence National Historical Park and easy walking distance to so many other historical sites, restaurants, boutique shops, Penn's Landing & more! My top requirements in booking a hotel are (equally) safety, cleanliness & location. This hotel gets top makes in all 3.

This was an amazing experience! The staff were so thoughtful, friendly and always willing to help! The room was clean - breakfast was really good - plenty to eat! The hotel's location is PERFECT!! It's easy to walk to all the historic sites - and shopping is really not far and easily accessible! If you are going to visit Philadelphia I highly recommend staying at the Independence Inn!

The bed was super comfortable and the staff was all very friendly. Free breakfast and afternoon cookies, along with remote controlled curtains were all pluses. Overall a great value hotel in a convenient location that was very walkable to top attractions such as Independent Hall and Reading Terminal Market (<1 mi).

We stayed at The Independence Park Hotel one night on Sunday, August 13. Every hotel employee that we encountered was very friendly and welcoming. La'Rene was the wonderful staff member who checked us in and was able to answer all of our questions about the area. She presented us with a welcome gift bag which included 2 water bottles (greatly appreciated on a very warm day!) since we participate in the Best Western reward program. Our fourth floor king room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The furniture was in good condition and all amenities were available including extra towels . The bathroom was brightly lit and had a nice size walk in shower. The lobby and dining area were very clean and we could see that everyone working here cared about this hotel. The free buffet breakfast was great with many delicious choices including eggs, bacon, cereal and fruit. We especially loved the Liberty Bell waffles. A big thank you to Devin who assisted us with the waffle maker. She was in the dining room the entire time and made herself available to assist all the guests. We were impressed by the service, condition of the hotel and our room. The location is perfect if you want to walk to all the historic sites and museums. We would recommend this hotel as an excellent choice when staying in the historic section of Philadelphia.

Independence Park Hotel is a wonderful place to stay close to Independence Hall! From arrival and parking to our overnight and departure, everything was great! The staff was helpful and well-informed about the area, gave excellent directions and made us feel welcome! The room was well cared for and clean with everything we needed (and delightfully high ceilings!). The location was exactly what we wanted - just parked the car and walked everywhere for the weekend! Lots (and lots) of great places to eat nearby, too!

This hotel is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff were all so kind and helpful. We so enjoyed our stay! I had forgotten to mention my daughter is gluten free ahead of time and the breakfast staff was super kind about making her a gluten free waffle!

The bed was comfortable and the room was immaculate. The central location is also a huge plus. We were able to easily walk to almost all of the historic sites. Excellent employees like Debbie and Cici were an added bonus!

This was my first time staying at the Independence Park Hotel. The room was cozy, clean, and very well maintained. Super glad there was a mini-fridge in the room! The breakfast options were great. Check in and out was super easy and the staff were wonderful. Lastly, the location was fantastic. I will for sure stay here again when in Philly!

Great location, staff so accommodating! Everyone was warm and friendly! Breakfast was a treat especially Liberty bell waffles! Very nice wine and cheese hour and having lemon water available in the library.

The location to the Olde City area (Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, etc.) cannot be beat. We walked it all without touching our car. Room was small but nice. It is a historical building after all. Staff was nice and professional. The one star was lost because the parking garage used didn't work with the badge given. It did let us out with the pass, so in the end it all worked out. If we had to do it again, we wouldn't buy parking from the hotel ahead and just use the garage tickets. It o ky saves three dollars a day. We also had a used bar of soap left in the shower. Easy to throw away, just kinda gross.

Stayed 2 nights & were very happy with it all. The rooms were newly refurbished & were clean, modern & comfortable. The breakfast options were varied and delicious. Fresh chilled water was always available in the lobby as well as complimentary cookies & cheese at certain times of the day. The location was excellent with all historic landmarks within walking distance. Great food options for all tastes, also within walking distance. Overall a very nice stay, highly recommend & will definitely come back

Hotel is in a central location, 5 minute walk to Independence Hall and the other historical sights. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice, a little small but not cramped. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was modern with good water pressure. Breakfast was good, loved the fresh waffles and lots of options. Cookie hour was a nice touch and coffee and water always available in the lobby.

I stayed here for a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Wells Fargo Center on March 23. The hotel was a very positive surprise! I had my suspicions about the level of service when I contacted the hotel via email for changes to my booking before arrival and the frequency and helpfulness of the feedback I then received was fantastic. The staff, from check-in to breakfast and the manager are outstanding with an extreme level of service. The hotel? The room I stayed in was quite large, bigger than expected and very clean and fresh with a good shower/toilet. The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations! I thought the location of the hotel was good, some historic buildings in the area, good access to parking and walking distance to the 'city'. Good and easy communication with local transport to Wells Fargo and the surrounding area. I would definitely not hesitate to stay at the same hotel if I ever visit Philadelphia again.

We stayed here while we visited Phildeplphia this was one of our favorite places so far. The staff is friendly and helpful with all questions. They are so prepared for check in, we had a car that we needed to park and the hotel gave us great step by step instructions on where to go to park and how to do it. The location of the hotel is excellent also you are close to all of the historical locations (they have a handy map which is super helpful) and there are a ton of food options literally all over. The rooms were super clean with comfortable beds and the sofa couch was comfy too. The breakfast was one of the families favorites good options to choose from the family favorite was the Libery Bell waffles so yummy! Would definitely stay here again!

I can't believe how I lucked into this amazing hotel after staying a nightmareish night elsewhere in Philly and having to find another hotel last minute. You can not beat the location. Walk to Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, etc.. hotel sits across the street from the American Revolution museum. I was in Philly for a concert and after I stopped at a late night pizza place 1 block down that hit the spot. So many restaurants and shops within a very easy walking distance. The hotel interiors were gorgeous and well maintained. My room was super clean, bathroom included. I had the smallest room option, which was closer to European size but it did not feel cramped at all. They make good use of the space with furniture, large closet, etc.. The walk-in shower was spacious with good water pressure. The shower was draining slowly, which I shared with the front desk on my way out. When I returned a few hours later, it had been fixed. Great hotel, didn't have any idea how much I would love Philly but I think between the city and this gem I will be returning after all!

This is our5th hotel in Philadelphia! And this hotel rate high on our list! We checked in on June 30th and checked out on July 2nd. We just drove down from NJ for the weekend. We love spending time and exploring in Philly! This hotel by far exceeded our expectations! The price, the location, the room, the amenities! No complaints at all. We will definitely stay here again! The breakfast was GREAT! We stayed in room 208 and it was great. Comfortable bed, pillows, AC unit works well, yesss room is smaller but so what! We were good with it. It was just the perfect size and our weekend getaway. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary cookies they put out for the guests were so good! Grab a few if you happens to see them out.

Nice hotel in great location. Conveniently located to many historical sites in Old Town. Also walking distance to the waterfront. Close to the Hop On / Hop Off Bus and the Septa. King size interior room was nice. Only negatives were the tv was kind of far from the bed and the window blinds let quite a bit of light in. Front desk staff could have been a little more friendly. One woman wasn't too happy about having to unlock the refreshment cabinet.

We spent one night while passing thru Philly. This is a beautiful historic hotel in a great location. The room was beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was also a very nice breakfast buffet included. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Chose this for location and reasonable price. The staff was friendly and professional, the room clean and cosy and their breakfast a good way to start the day. My only issue with my room was the thin walls and floor. I could hear the neighbors talking, who were up all night, and the people on the upper floor walking about.

Clean Hotel with great location to see the historical sites and close to many restaurants. The staff is excellent and very helpful. Parking is offsite and a little walk away but not bad and easy to find. Will stay at this hotel again on future trips to Philadelphia!

I recently stayed at the Independence Park Hotel. I was literally there just to sleep so I was at the hotel for about 12 hours! My room was tiny but I have to say that the hotel was super clean, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was modern with great smelling products! I loved the fireplace in the lobby too! You can't beat the complimentary breakfast - bagels, muffins, eggs, bacon, yogurt, oatmeal, juice, coffee and a waffle machine. Special shout out to the wonderful hotel staff I also encountered: Craig, Julian, Crystal and Lendy. You can tell that they all go above and beyond the call of duty to make their guests happy. I requested a quiet room so I faced another building but had a wonderful night's sleep. The hotel is located at a super convenient spot close to a lot of tourist attractions and I actually appreciated the fact that I had to be buzzed in at the front door when I arrived at night to check in. I would highly recommend it if you are visiting Philly.

Until a few years ago, I'd lived most of my life in the Philadelphia area, worked in Philadelphia, and know it well. We had a great experience at the Independence Park Hotel. From accommodating our early arrival to the well-designed morning breakfast setup, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The room we had overlooking Chestnut St was large and spacious; very comfortable and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, and, overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and recommend this hotel as a very reasonably priced alternative to any of the bigger hotels in Old City which has always been one of my favorite sections of Philadelphia. Located directly across from the Revolutionary War Museum, you can't beat the location for Old City/Independence Park access to sites and restaurants.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast is terrific, hot apple cider in the afternoon on a cold weekend, great location for a lot of Philly sites, and the price is reasonable. What more could you ask?

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times recently and absolutely love it! It's a small but cozy historic hotel with clean modern rooms. The bathroom has a great walk in shower, nice toiletries and plenty of quality bath towels. Beds are very comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance from restaurants and points of interest in the area. They provide a free breakfast buffet every morning and even have a cappuccino machine. All of the staff are friendly and helpful but I would like to give a special shout-out to Martin. He treated us like VIP's! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Center City/Old City Philadelphia.

Perfect location. We were worried about parking on a one way narrow street, but they have loading parking right out front. We paid for parking through the hotel and were given a pass to park in a garage just around the corner for a very reasonable price. The staff were amazing! Super friendly, always saying hello and very helpful. Our room was clean and the free breakfast was just what we needed to start out our day.

This hotel is a great central location for the historic area of Philly and nightlife. When you're trying to jam a lot in on one or two days, this location is ideal. The rooms are a little smaller than expected, but considering it's a historical hotel and we didn't plan to spend much time in the room, it worked out well. The hotel also had plenty of amenities if needed- snacks for sale, lobby beverages, and breakfast included.

I stayed here for 5 days recently, and was very impressed with the hotel. The staff were helpful and pleasant, which was a great welcome when checking in, asking for restaurant recommendations, and anything else. My room was just a standard one, but was extremely well-equipped---both blackout and privacy curtains, unusually good lighting, clean, a comfy reading chair with its own lamp, desk, tv, everything. The bathroom was sparkling, with a great walk-in shower, lots of good quality towels, again, everything. They served homemade apple cider and cookies in the lobby every afternoon, too. The included breakfast buffet gets a very special mention, since it was actually a complete breakfast! Scrambled eggs with varying sides each day, a waffle station, yoghurt, fruit, etc. The only tiny caveat I have is that there were two televisions playing, with sound, during breakfast. Nobody was watching anytime I was there, so perhaps this is an idea which should be rethought. I came to Philadelphia by train, and found the public transportation to be excellent around this hotel. In fact, there are both a direct bus and a direct metro line going straight to the main train station, and another bus line going to the museum district. Yes, if I visit Philadelphia again, I would definitely come straight back to this hotel. Highly recommended.

When I was surprised with a lengthy federal jury duty stay, the staff went to great lengths to ensure I had an affordable rate and the flexibility I needed to be able to terminate my stay whenever the trial ended. Without extra cost to me. Staff was friendly and help with local eateries and transportation services. Safely stowed my belongings when the possibility of a possible exit arose. Breakfast offered great selections and good food. Well maintained and clean establishment. Safe area with a lot to offer. Staff was amazing!

Location, location, location,, is often what you hear about real estate but the Service was also the stand out here. We did love the location as we could walk to most of the historic sites we planned to see such as Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and many museums. Our queen bedroom was well appointed, although the rooms are small. A very clean hotel overall. It was a quiet night, an excellent full breakfast and parking was less than 2 blocks away and reasonably priced with in/out as often as you'd like for a 24 hour flat fee. The staff was wonderful; there was even a birthday card and nice box of chocolate candy for my birthday in the room. Several good places to eat within easy walking distance.We would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful location if you are interested in the Old City. We wanted to see the Museum of the American Revolution, (also great), and it is directly across the street. A beautiful combination of recent refurbishing and a gorgeous 19th century building. The Liberty Bell waffles for breakfast were a nice touch, and every member of the staff was very gracious.

Very comfortable hotel, well appointed, and great location.The TV remote was not working, and a replacement was brought to our room in a timely manner. Everyone at the front desk was exceptional. We left an item in the safe and it was quickly retrieved and sent to our home, very helpful when we called slightly panicked! Top notch.

Don't tell the rest of the BW locations but this one is the best! We had a great stay here. Unfortunately breakfast at this location starts later than others so we weren't able to experience that before we had to leave. Self parking is at a nearby garage. The rooms are updated and beautiful. Great features and higher end toiletries.

This is a lovely boutique style hotel in a great location. All the staff interactions were top notch. Typical breakfast hotel with enough offerings for all diets/restrictions. Some people may complain the room is small, but it is a fair trade for the amenties and location. Parking garage was around the block and easily doable for able bodied people. My son and I walked back to the hotel from garage around 11 PM after a baseball game and felt perfectly safe. Bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was easy to get to, with parking just around the corner in a secured lot, and convenient to historic district in Old City. Hotel was clean & quiet. Price was comparable to other hotels in the area.

Rooms were very small - very cramped (though clean) - BUT the location is excellent! Perfectly situated within walking distsance of everything. Friendly staff, decent breakfast. I was nervous about parking at first, but it turned out okay. There is no onsite parking, but you can pull up to the front door for 20 mins, check-in and onload your bags, and then move your car to the parking garage which is an easy few minutes walk away. Repeat upon check-out. Worked out well, and the parking fee was quite reasonable ($26) for a downtown hotel in the tourist section! Would stay again for sure. Recommended.

My family of 4 stayed here for two nights. Great location directly across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution and an easy walk to to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Ben Franklin Museum, and all the other historical stuff. Easy, reasonably priced self-service garage parking just a block away. Entire hotel is new, clean, and modern. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet included in the price, basic hotel fare including make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, etc and good coffee! Many great restaurants within a two block radius. Comfortable beds, clean, modern bathrooms. Great experience!

Delightful hotel located in Old City within easy walking distance to all the sites. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to enhance our stay. Our room was very nice, well-appointed and very comfortable.

My room was exquisite and had everything incl. a refrigerator. The place is new and spotless! The staff was well informed and I felt very safe in this 41 room hotel. In the heart of it all, yet very private. Directly across the street from the New American Revolution Museum. Restaurants of every cuisine as close as next door. Breakfast was wonderful!

Perfect getaway. The King studio with full kitchen has everything you need. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Hot breakfast helped cut down on outside spending. Sheryl from the front desk was especially friendly from the moment we arrived making our stay extra special.

The four of us had a corner room with a nice long hall which helped a bit to make up for the tight quarters - but that's part of staying in downtown Philly! You just can't beat the location for doing sightseeing there. The tiled bathroom was roomy enough and sharp looking. It included a wonderful mounted magnifying, light-up makeup mirror. Great shower. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The fold-out couch was not so comfortable - it was quite stiff. I slept fine on it but others did not. Nice big window, desk, office chair, good sized fridge, Keurig coffeemaker. I don't believe we had a microwave. Lovely lighting, although one of the ceiling fixtures flickered a lot so we left if turned off - fortunately it was the only light on the switch by the bathroom. Very nice drapery. Looking at the photos of all the rooms shows some interesting variation, including novel variation in the walls: corners & nooks, etc. The breakfast was very good, great service & hospitality, many choices (even Nutella spread!) & a cappuccino machine! As well, cookies are available from 4-6 pm - very yummy! We went to all the big name sites in Philly and had a great time!

Hotel although not cheap was in a great place right in the middle of Philly's historic area so really convenient. Hotel itself is beautifully ( and newly) decorated and very clean - nice touches like coffee, iced water and afternoon cookies. Continental style Breakfast is included but it's pretty average.

We had one night in Philly during a road trip. We wanted somewhere near a lot of historic places that we could walk to. This was perfect. Discounted parking garage rate was $23. We walked easily to the Cherry St Pier on the river, up to Franklin Park, and to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The Museum of American Revolution is right across the St. Lots of restaurants and some shopping nearby, although we did more sightseeing than anything. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed.

The hotel just had the renovation so it is super clean. The rooms are not spacious but good enough and they have coffee machine in the room as well as cookies at the lobby. But breakfast could be better-there was not a single veggie. Guys, please put some cucummber or tomatto by your scrambled eggs!

The room like was a closet. If you paid for a window. It could cost you and additional fee. The initial odor was 100 % bleach. I guess this was the cleaning less they so proud . The staff was not rude but extremely not helpful. Parking is a rip off.

We had a long 6 night stay at this hotel so I feel I can review it pretty thoroughly. The location is great for a tourist - a very close walk to sites like Independence Hall, Liberty Bell and the like. We did Lyft rides to and from a few other further away sites, and they were pretty standard Lyft fairs. Our room was snug, however it really had everything we needed and we managed well in the room (with all of our stuff) during our stay. The room felt clean and fresh. There is a mini fridge which is helpful - (microwave in addition would be even more helpful!). We had the free breakfast everyday to start our morning off and it was very convenient. It's not anything out of the ordinary - scrambled eggs, some days sausage, juice, bagels, waffles etc. It was just nice to get something in our stomach and get going. The parking is an additional cost that can add up. $26/night. It's a garage one and half blocks away with no in and out privileges. Though we didn't have any issues with the garage my husband and I both nervously joked multiple times that the garage seemed like it could be sketchy - lots of twists and turns, confined areas, blind corners. I admit, I would feel a little uncomfortable if I were by myself at night. Although, again, we didn't actually have any issue. Perhaps just be aware. The block the hotel is on felt safe and people were almost always dining outdoors of the nearby cafes and bars. Overall I'm really glad I chose this hotel as I had wavered between a few options. I would easily recommend it or stay again if in the area.

This hotel was a gem for our short stay and visit of the historic landmarks and museums in Philly. Great location, very clean and comfortable, and the staff was super-friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean, modern, and very well laid out.

Love this place, convenient to everything in the Independence mall, staff has always been helpful, rooms are quiet. I've stayed here many times and plan on going back. Only negative was lack of lobby PC/printer to print boarding passes. Removed during recent remodel and no yet replaced...

Our small room had one queen bed, two small side tables, TV, 1 desk with a lamp, 1 mini fridge and coffee maker (didn't use) and ice bucket, one desk chair and 1 small arm chair The spotless bathroom had a nice shower with a shower door instead of a curtain which was nice. Hotel size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and mouth wash, bar soap for shower as well as sink. Plenty of bath towels and wash cloths. No place to hang clothing so keep that in mind. Plenty of charging outlets for your electronic devices. Bed was very comfortable and the bedding and towels were of good quality. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very ample with orange/cranberry juice, coffee, water, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage patties, cereals, oatmeal, assorted muffins, English Muffins, bagels, and waffle maker. The waffle maker makes waffles with the Liberty Bell pattern. Pretty cool! The breakfast ladies were awesome - so friendly and helpful. Real linen napkins and real utensils not plastic. I was looking for a trash can and place to put my dishes and utensils and then I found out that you leave your plates behind and the ladies clean up for you. The breakfast area is on the floor below the main lobby and was very clean as well. In the lobby they also had lemon water and assorted cookies! We parked overnight in the Ritz East Parking Garage ($26 for 24 hours) - just a short walk from the hotel and had no issues. I want to give this hotel five stars but there was fan noise coming from the vent and it kept me awake most of the night. I didn't want to call the front desk simply because I didn't want a workman coming in that late to disturb other guests. Hotel is within walking distance of many of the historic attractions. We walked everywhere with no issues except for a few people asking us for money over on Market Street. I would stay here again for sure but would check out any fan noises before it gets too late in the evening.

Travelling with extended family and young family members (6&9) for Memorial Day week. Arrived Wednesday evening to a wine and cheese reception. All Hotel staff were exceptionally friendly. The hotel itself is within walking distance to so many top must see attractions inc. the Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin museum and post office, American Revolution museum, to name a few. Food options within walking distance are also endless! Sonny's for Philly cheesesteaks as recommended by front desk staff was excellent and the Lucha Cartel a few doors down was so good we ate there twice during our stay. The Mini fridge in our room was great for all the leftovers we accumulated during our short stay! The continental breakfast was a huge hit with the family including the liberty bell waffles! Biscuits and gravy was delicious. The rooms were just awesome. We had a room next to the elevator which first we were a bit concerned about noise and waking the kids up too early, but we didn't hear a thing! Rooms were beautifully stocked/maintained. The building itself was stunning. The only think to be aware of is that parking was off site. It was right around the corner in a parking garage where we left the vehicle for the duration of our stay. Everything we were wanting to see was within walking distance or close to a hop-on/off bus pick up spot. We'll be coming back for sure.

Literally just a few blocks down Chestnut St from Independence Hall. This just reopened in April after a fire (in 2018 I think). They have the hot breakfast up and running and Latisha takes good care of you. Wine and cheese on Wednesday evening and cookies at 4 every day. It is a city hotel so rooms are small, but very well appointed. We got a great rate and loved our stay.

Absolutely perfect choice! I was overwhelmed by the number of hotels but I couldn't have made a better decision. It's a 4 minute walk from the Natl Park with Liberty bell, Independence Hall and all the other tourist sites are close by. The attendant said the hotel has been open a month so the older reviews were likely before the full renovation. The room is just like the photos and it feels like we are the first to stay here. Bright white sheets and towels, new carpet, cookies at night, typical continental breakfast but the location makes up for that. Restaurants within a block nearly every direction. Fridge in room and nice size clean bathroom with glass shower. Room overlooks the Museum of the American Revolution and easy walk to the pier. Love this place! I will say parking is a block away in a parking garage that's $26 with no in and out privileges so you can't leave and come back. I recommend taking the Double Decker tour bus which picks up 3 mins away and allows hop on hop off at 28 sites. Parking is terrible everywhere and driving is stressful if you aren't used to it.

As we searched enroute for a hotel in downtown Philadelphia, this hotel ad popped up first. At the time the rates were very low .. almost too low to believe. We wondered what we were getting into when we booked the room. The stay here ended up being the highlight of our trip. We did not realize that this hotel had just opened. Our room was small but very well appointed in every way. We felt pampered. The location was perfect for seeing all the historical sites. The gals running the breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. That goes for the front desk staff as well. This is especially noticeable since everyone was getting used to their jobs, and we were there during a marketing photo shoot. The prices are higher now but if you can swing the cost, you won't be disappointed in your stay.

We walked to all the historic sites from here- Independence Park, Jefferson's Franklin's and Betsy Ross' houses, waterfront park and all of the old streets and alleyways. Good restaurants nearby too. Our room was clean and quiet. The staff was great!

This is an ideal spot to have access to historical sites, restaurants, stores, and museums. This recently renovated hotel is such a relaxing spot in the middle of a busy city. The bedding, shower, and even the ceiling height in the rooms created a soothing overnight stay.

We had a great stay! They were able to accommodate our early check-in. The later check-out time (compared to other hotels) was VERY appreciated, also! The room was very clean, and quiet, with great products provided. The breakfast was unexpected but very happy I didn't skip out! Hot waffles, biscuits, gravy + yogurt, and granola bars. The staff was excellent with information and very friendly. Will recommend to a friend and hopefully stay again next time we are in town. Thanks!

A local told me there was a tremendous fire and was surprised to see the hotel reopened, but he was also elated and I concur. My stay began with a great introductory price and accommodations were ADA compliant. the front desk was professional, courteous and helpful. I loved how cookies and coffee were available in the lobby in the afternoon. my room was amazing. King Bed ADA rollin shower with queen sofa bed. the king bed was so comfortable, the sheets gorgeous, and the towels really soft and beautiful. having the couch made me feel more at home, as well as the Keurig so I could make coffee in the morning. I loved how you just had to slightly tug the beautiful ceiling to floor drapes to open and close, revealing chestnut street, so a little noisy at 5am when garbage trucks picked up. and there were lots of parks, historical sites, and restaurants within walking distance. The roll in shower was a great help with my mobility issues, my only complaint would be there was no shelf to put your toileltries in the shower, and there was no toilet paper roll holder. with those 2 easy additions, there would simply be nothing to complain about. such a sweet, comfortable, bed and breakfast style boutique of excellence, I will return when I am again in Philadelphia.

This hotel I believe has been recently completely refurbished and they've done a wonderful job. Everything is brand new and completely fresh and looks lovely. The rooms are great, nice decor and bed was absolute heaven! I think something has gone wrong with the breakfast offering though, there is virtually nothing to eat. The website states 'a complete breakfast', but it is far from that, I think someone must be prone to exaggeration. All I could find was coffee, bananas, cereal bars and yogurts, that's it! They'll make you a waffle, but honestly you'd get the same breakfast in any standard motel! Not sure what is going on here? I could see other guests wandering around bewildered too!

I was called to federal jury duty in Philadelphia and this hotel was on their list of suggestions. Great price, well within the federal per diem and an easy walk to the courthouse. Queen bed room was small, but bathroom was nice, had a desk, free Wifi and TV. A woman traveling alone, I felt safe and secure. Self park was around the corner but not a problem. Right across from new Museum of the American Revolution. Would definitely return.

The hotel was recently remodeled and it is gorgeous. The room was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast included waffles served to our table. There is a tea and cookie time every afternoon starting at 4:00 pm. Yummies cookies! The hotel is located within easy walking distance to numerous attractions and eateries. I highly recommend this facility. You park your vehicle at a parking garage that is located about a half block away. This was not an inconvenience

My siblings and I stayed at this hotel specifically for the location and proximity to historic district and tourism stops. We had no idea before booking that this hotel was as beautiful as it was; it was a pleasant surprise! Staff members were helpful and friendly. Hotel rooms and common areas were clean, tidy, and welcoming. Bedding was soft and light. Room temperature is easily controllable for optimal comfort. The bathroom mirror is lit nicely, and there is a secondary mirror that can pull away from the wall, which was an amazingly helpful touch for doing makeup. It may seem trivial, but these little things really add up. There is ample space to drop off luggage upon arrival, and the parking garage is conveniently within a short walking distance. I can't wait to come stay again in the next month or so.

Do not go to this hotel. Five Letters, nasty. Molded bathroom, bubble gum on carpets, missing light in bathroom and limited toiletry. Staff did not care at all. I am still waiting for a refund because they ruined my anniversary! Stay outside!

The hotel was lovely and clean. The staff were very accommodating. Harry in the breakfast area was a joy. His happy smiling face greeted us each morning and was so patient with the kids. The breakfast area was always clean.

We stayed in this hotel first several years ago. Pleasant, with its own style, in the middle of the historic heart of Philadelphia. Very pleasant staff. The hotel seem to have upgraded from what i remember and kept up with adjustments and improvements. Nice standard rooms, convenient location of the garage. Breakfast included is always a plus. Would stay again given an opportunity.

First of all, I will comment that I now understand that there has been a fire at this location, and while my heart does go out to those affected, Best Western needs to better communicate this information to their customers. It is my understanding that this fire occurred almost two months ago, yet just this week, I received a random email cancelling my reservation for the weekend following Memorial Day with no explanation as to the reason for the cancellation. When I called the Best Western call center, no one at the call center was able to tell me why my reservation had been cancelled either. The only response they could give me was the hotel is listed as "unavailable." They were finally able to connect me to someone directly at the hotel who told me they had smoke and water damage due to a fire and would not be opening until 2019. No recommendations for an alternative hotel were offered. I post this review solely so others like me who may be trying to find information about their reservation have the information needed to make an informed, timely decision about their trip itinerary.

Our first floor room overlooked the main street yet was pleasantly quiet, with instant hot water, and was roomy enough for both of us. Breakfast was superb! soft classical music is played as you dine on a wide variety of dishes that will suit most culinary traditions, and the tables were set with clean linen everyday. A bonus was the complimentary tea and cookies served at 3.30 pm.

My husband and I have stayed at The Independence a couple of times now. As previous people have said it is ideally situated, good hotel and above all the staff are so nice. Never stayed on a Tuesday so can't comment on the wine and cheese evening. The cookies and coffee are much appreciated after a day of walking. So much to see and do around this area. A must is the Museum of American Revolution, right opposite. Quite a few restaurants around. We were so sad to hear about the fire last week. Our thoughts and best wishes go to all the people concerned on that dreadful morning, especially the staff who work at The Independence. Hope everything goes well for The Independence and you will be up and running in a couple of months.

The Independence Park Hotel is a 36 room property on the National Register of Historic Places that sits in possibly the best location for exploring Olde City Philadelphia. Under the Best Western Plus label it offers an expanded continental breakfast in the downstairs atrium and on Wednesday evening, a wine and cheese buffet from 5-7pm, that is outstanding. Parking is around the corner, a short block away for $18 a night with in and out privileges. There are 2 reserved spots in front of the hotel for easy loading and unloading. It sits right across the street from the outstanding new Museum of the American Revolution. The 3 night trip over Valentine's day was outstanding and look forward to returning to this excellent hotel.

This is a reply to Badger 781. We were in the hotel when we had to evacuate at 3:30AM on Sunday, Feb. 18th. If you had seen the 4 alarm fire 2 doors down that took almost 24 hours to put out initially and almost 500 firefighters working you would not be so quick to condemn hotel personnel. They had to coordinate with several city entities and figure out how to help us get our stuff back No hotel personnel were able to be in or near the building, so please cut them some slack about lack of communication. We had 3 different employees helping us and who were in touch as often as they could be, and because we were on the first 3 floors were able to retrieve our belongings Monday afternoon. The basement is completely flooded and the 5th (top) floor basically doesn't exist anymore. This is a wonderful property and we will be back next President's Day.

My siblings and I made reservations at this hotel for a family get-together in March 2018. My sister and I made our reservations directly with the hotel; my brother used Booking.com. In mid-February, Booking.com notified him that his reservation had been cancelled. He called the hotel only to get a recording saying that there had been a fire nearby and the hotel would be closed for 90 days. Yet neither my sister nor I were ever notified of this, despite the fact that we are Best Western Rewards members. To make it even worse, the phone recording gave a 1-800 number and said we were welcome to call that number to cancel our reservation and be placed in another Best Western Plus hotel. Really? Best Western requires US to cancel our reservation at a hotel that is closed because of a fire? And Best Western implies that the only way we can cancel is to agree to go to another of their hotels. As resentful as I was about this, we did make reservations at another Best Western Plus just because we wanted to get reservations ASAP without doing a bunch of research and coordinating again. Unfortunately, this hotel, the Best Western Plus Convention Center, was less centrally located and more expensive than the Independence Park. Count me NOT IMPRESSED with Best Western Plus!

This hotel is an ideal spot to use as a base for exploring Old City. Many museums are within walking distance. Their parking facility is close by and allows for easy, repeated entrances and exits daily. Staff was helpful and courteous. Great morning coffee, a must for me!

We stayed here for two nights and would definitely return to this hotel! Perfect location in the historical district. There are a lot of thoughtful touches, such as the afternoon tea and cookies, and the roaring fire and comfortable sitting area with bowl of fruit in lobby. Breakfast was outstanding and another nice touch is breakfast seating at tablecloth'd tables (decorated for Valentines Day!) from red velvet waffles to chobani yogurt, the options were great! Breakfast and front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful. This is an historic hotel, so be aware that the rooms are small, but all amenities are there. 36 room hotel. We loved our stay and will recommend to others coming to Philly!

The room was small, but cozy for a couple on a romantic weekend getaway. The hotel is certainly historic with beautiful architecture, though the walls are thin and at times sounds carried into the room. The location is great, with easy access to historical sights, theaters, and museums. The breakfast staff was friendly and the breakfast itself was plentiful.

This hotel to start is in a fabulous location. Breakfast buffet was great. It was restocked with plenty of choices. Had a great breakfast every morning. It is located right next to a great restaurant. You can walk to all the sites with where this hotel is located. Loved the inside historical setting that you walk into.

Extraordinary medium-priced hotel in historic part of Philadelphia! Everything was first rate. Rooms are very comfortable and even though the property is over 100 years old the rooms are definitely updated. Breakfast area is very nice and the breakfast buffet has a good selection including numerous items for those who want to eat healthy, like hard boiled eggs, whole wheat toast, Chobani yogurt and fruit. Also I want to thank Joe and Brice for their great hospitality and keeping things in top shape. Parking is available at a garage 1 1/2 blocks away - check if it is included in your room rate as that was so in my case. All in all an extremely pleasant stay

Ok... Best Western does not necessarily evoke fantasies of a splendid hotel but in this case, as I was, you'd be wrong. This is a cozy, delightful little property in Philadelphia's Old Town just off of Independence Park. Wonderful, attentive service; small but well appointed, extremely clean rooms; homemade snacks and fresh coffee all day in the lobby which has a fireplace, (gas unfortunately), going all day and a large restaurant which, unfortunately, only serves breakfast from 7-10 AM. The bed, king size, was comfortable with crisp linens and the property is wonderfully quiet for sleeping irrespective of the fact that it is surrounded by popular bars as well as restaurants. My only two issues, which are minor, are that it does not have a full service restaurant and parking is self-parking and off-property about 1 block away. The lack of restaurant is not an issue due to the hotel's location and the parking may only be a problem in truly inclement weather. Otherwise this place is just lovely... Go and enjoy both it and the lovely Old Philly area!

Nice Hotel, but no over night parking at the location, you have to spend $18.00 to Park up the street and around to corner at the public garage and walk back alone( if your by yourself) back to the hotel

A lovely quaint warm historic feeling hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. There is an additional charge per night for inconvenient offsite parking that is a block+ away. Room was in need of some updating and repair. Overall a nice place and convenient to center city but not worth the price we paid.

From the moment we entered until the moment we walked out 3 days later, the stay was absolutely perfect. The hotel was charming and historic and the beautiful fireplace welcomed us from the freezing temps outside. The location could not have been better! The staff was excellent!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is the best. The staff are super friendly and professional. The rooms while small are clean and comfortable. The breakfast and afternoon tea are first rate. I can't say enough good thinks about the hotel. Plus the cost is very reasonable. I stay about 40 nights a year at the hotel. Would not go anywhere else. This place is a gem. Sometimes my wife joins me and many of the best restaurants in the city are within a block or two.

We visited Philadelphia for the first time for a family wedding; the hotel was perfectly located. A short stroll to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, close to the river - great if you want to go for for a run in the city - and close to museums, bars and some great restaurants. Our room was quiet, clean and every member of staff we came in contact with was kind, helpful and full of fun. We will return on our next visit - thank you!

If you are looking for a cozy hotel in the heart of historic Philadelphia, look no further. This is an old hotel dating back to the 1850's. It is well worn but with its own unique charm. It has only 36 rooms. Because it is so small you feel as if you are in a B and B, from the welcoming fire in the entry living room to the incredibly friendly, helpful and delightful staff. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available all day with warm, home baked cookies appearing about 4pm in the living room. There is also wine and cheese night on Wednesday's where the guests can get together prior to leaving for their evening's activities. Breakfasts are delicious with a menu that varies daily and includes waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs, oatmeal, pastries, etc. It is directly across from the new Museum of the American Revolution and literally steps from all of the other historic buildings, so there couldn't be a better location for walking to everything you want to see. Very reasonably priced as well. Try it, you'll like it!!

We had 6 rooms at the hotel. We stayed for one week. We had a few glitches as any hotel can have when you stay a week. However, the staff is on any problem in a heartbeat. They are friendly and accommodating. My granddaughter got married and lives in Philadelphia. We took over the lobby area many times visiting with each other. There was always hot coffee, tea and cookies in the afternoon. Cheese and wine was served on the weekend. Great walking area to all events.

I have stayed here on several occasions, and have been satisfied with each trip. The staff, facility, and amenities are excellent. The value paid for the location, with its proximity to historic sites in Philly, make this hotel a great place to stay.

My spouse and I went to Philadelphia for an overnight in celebration of our anniversary. This hotel, in an historic building, is literally across the street from the new Museum of the American Revolution, which anchors the southeastern end of Independence National Historic Park. We received numerous emails prior to our trip with information to help us arrive with no glitches. Initial tricky part: parking in front of the building in order to check in. Parking enforcers are dogged. Be sure to get a temporary pass before going. The interior is beautiful. Each and every employee we encountered couldn't have been nicer. All are dressed smartly, even the guy who was doing maintenance work. The high-ceiling room was a bit small -- remember, this is an historic building -- but the layout of furniture is very good; we were very comfortable. We had a refrigerator but not a microwave. Amenities were quite nice. The room was pleasantly decorated and very clean. There seemed to be a full contingent of wait staff for breakfast. We ate on real plates using real silverware and cloth napkins. Dirty plates and glasses were cleared regularly. The Belgian waffle station was highlighted by the woman who greeted us and gave explanation of the layout. The scrambled eggs had some sort of different taste to them. Not bad, just different. According to the information placed on each table, sausage and bacon are available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. On the other four days, it's sausage gravy. There was a wide array of choices; I don't see why someone with a specialized diet couldn't find ample food to his/her liking. Would we go back? Absolutely. One of its best selling points is location, location, location. We could easily walk everywhere we wanted to visit in the Historic Waterfront District, including a decent number of restaurants. We saw absolutely no evidence of crime or anything that would have been unpleasant to encounter. Every BW employee treated us as if their most important job was to attend to our needs. A luxurious feel at a Best Western Plus price. We had a great time and our stay at this BW Plus hotel played a major part in creating a memorable stay for us.

We loved this hotel. I admit I avoided booking it at first, because I have had some bad experiences with Best Westerns in the distant past. But this is actually a luxury hotel. The service was great, the rooms were well appointed, the bathrooms were very nice, and the location of the hotel cannot be beat - just steps to all the historic attractions Philly has to offer. The breakfast was chaotic and I wouldn't call it fancy, but it was just fine. The elevator is pretty slow, but it does come around eventually. Overall, highly recommended.

The Independence Park is a small hotel, old and somewhat tired, but in a fantastic location for historic colonial Philadelphia. It is directly across the street from the new Museum of the American Revolution and just down the block from Carpenter's Hall and Independence Hall. The hotel is rather shabby, but rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast is included. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The price is reasonable. Free coffee and tea are available all day in the lobby and cookies at tea time. On Wednesdays complimentary wine and cheese are available at cocktail time.

Stayed here for a holiday trip with my wife and three teenage boys (we got two rooms). This is small hotel centrally located with easy walks to all the historic sites and restaurants. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Good free breakfast with attentive staff and clean presentation. You have to park at a nearby lot not at hotel, but it was easy and no problem at all. Rates were were relatively inexpensive especially with AAA discount. Nice warm festive decorations for holidays. A special note to say this hotel has the most friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff I have experienced at a hotel. Very genuine... not “fake” customer service. Especially Bryce at the front desk who really took a lot of extra time to make sure we were taken care of both during check-in and afterwards. Thanks Bryce! You rock!

This is a great location right across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution and a very short walk to the Benjamin Franklin Museum, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, etc. It was great being able to park our car (which at $18 was significantly cheaper than other hotels in the area) and do everything on foot. It was a nice touch to have hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby from 4-6 and free breakfast was very substantial. Lobby was inviting and decorated nicely for Christmas. There's no fitness center, but you get free access to an actual gym a few blocks away (on the one hand, a hotel fitness center probably would have been open 24 hours, but on the other hand, the real gym had much better equipment). The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I was hoping for better customer service courtesy and that things like the cable should be checked before guests arrive. We went site seeing shortly after we arrived so by the time we came back it was late and not to have cable for the children to settle down to was not good.

This hotel was our overnight stop on the way from NY to DC having landed in the afternoon in NY. Everything was great - breakfast was good and so was the spread, free coffee throughout the day and cookies and coffee/tea was available from 4-6pm, comfortable and largish rooms in a hotel in a historical building. Near Independence Hall and historical sites. Parking was in a multi-storey car park 5min walk away.

The hotel is in a beautiful historic building in the heart of the old city. There is an abundance of bars and restaurants within the local area. Check in was quick and easy and all the staff are exceptional. Our room was on the 4th floor. It was clean comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast is included, a very good selection with hot choices that change daily. Would definitely stay again!!

This is a historic hotel. The quality of the building and lobby stood up to the historical significance of the building. The staff were truly friendly, not just a corporate presentation. they communicated on a personal level for all members be it mangers, housekeeping, laundry, breakfast staff. Very well run

A fantastic gem in the historic quarter of Philly. Located near the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Museum of the American Revolution. An excellent breakfast and beautifully decorated for Christmas with a very helpful and courteous staff. Terrific value.

Came to Philadelphia for Army-Navy game. As a BW rewards holder, we were thrilled when we found this hotel - a perfect match for our love of historic hotels - and it didn't disappoint. For such a huge event weekend, we thought the price was very reasonable. Located virtually at the center of the Independence Park Historic area. Fabulous location close to subway or even walking to central city area. Perfect location to take subway yo the game at Lincoln field. Rom as nice size, clean and well maintained. Bed was soooo comfortable. Pillows - way above normal for most hotels at this mid-range price. Staff was a 10+ in all facets of ; friendly, helpful and just plain pleasant to talk to. We will stay here again for sure.

We visited Philadelphia with another couple, and stayed here for 3 nights. I'm not usually overwhelmed by a hotel--you stay there at night(maybe have breakfast). BUT this place was different. First, location is excellent to a number of places to see, like Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Museum of American Revolution. It is also a stop on the Phlash bus that takes you to a number of other destinations in Philadelphia. Second, and maybe most importantly, the staff made you feel extremely welcome. This was not just a "good morning" type hello, but they actually engaged you, asked how you day was, where are you going today?, have you seen this? type of conversation. I did not meet one person who was not smiling or friendly. Third, great breakfast. Good way to start your day. Fourth, rooms were just fine, quiet, and comfortable. Just, an all-around great place to stay.

Staying at the Independence Park Hotel was a wonderful experience! It is a boutique hotel, part of the Best Western Plus family, but totally unique. The location is right across the street from the new Museum of the American Revolution (which is another gem) and near many historic places. The lobby is warm and welcoming. We were upgraded to a king room that was clean, tastefully decorated, had all the amenities (such as microwave, good sized refrig, lovely soft towels), and a comfy couch. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We got a great recommendation for a dinner restaurant close by! The free breakfast was a cut above the normal one at Best Western with many options and served on china with cloth napkins, no paper plates! On the first time there, a hostess gives you a personal tour of all the offerings and staff is present to refill food and help with any questions. Overall, this is a hidden gem in Philadelphia hotels.

We had a great weekend. Attended the annual Holiday Open House at Elfreth"s Alley, numerous Museums and Independence Hall. All are easy walking distance from the hotel along with many restaurants.. American Revolution Museum is across the street. WONDERFUL! Parking garage is just around the corner with easy in and out.

This is a convenient hotel which only has 36 rooms, centrally located in the historic district and across the street from the new American Revolution museum. Staff goes out of their way to accommodate you! They helped extend my stay to get me another night; they made wonderful recommendations on food in restaurants and then followed up to ask me my opinion about the restaurants; they gave me a room on the top floor as requested; and they asked me repeatedly about their own service and breakfast. I felt valued as a customer and a guest. The accommodations were clean and quiet. I will return to this delightful hotel.

I stayed in this hotel as my daughter was getting married---The hotel was beautifully appointed--and the staff was very friendly, and professional. I would highly recommend staying here since it is a historic building and is decorated accordingly-plus it's in the best part of the city for touring, and eating.

The Independence Park Hotel was a wonderful little hotel in the middle of Philadelphia! A definite highlight of our short visit. Close to restaurants and sites but lovely from the lobby to the breakfast to the rooms! An old building well kept up with roomy bathrooms and character throughout!

We really enjoyed our stay. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. Great hot Apple cider and cookies from 4-6pm. Nice hot breakfast with waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, pastries, and much more. Excellent location in the historic district.

There are many things to recommend about this hotel. The location could not be better as it is right across the street from the new Revolutionary War museum, and a block from Independence Hall. In other words, it is right in the center of historical Philadelphia. There are numerous restaurants and pubs within several blocks so you don't have to go far after a day of sightseeing. The hotel itself is in an old doll factory and retains some charm, and the room we had, which was an upgrade, was spacious, quiet and clean. The breakfast is several notches above what we were expecting and everything was hot and fresh, and served by a very friendly staff. The desk staff was welcoming and friendly. Lynnsy was especially helpful before our visit, providing many helpful suggestions, tips and some money saving ideas for our niece, who is a university student. THANK YOU Lynnsy! We really enjoyed our three night stay.

I highly recommend this BW hotel Independence Park walking distance to all the historical sites. ALL staff very friendly and hospitable! Very impressed with the decor of this 1857 historical building. Enjoyed the coffee, hot mulled cider table in the lobby throughout the day and the complimentary wine and cheese reception on Wed eve. great breakfast as usual. Will stay here again next time in Philly
