SureStay Plus by Best Western Brandywine Valley

No working light above sink. Running toilet. Running bathtub leak. Witnessed front desk personnel being extremely rude to checking in guest, because he didn't speak English fluently, which is not unusual at a hotel.

Rooms smelled awful, had a cockroach in it, and faucet only gave us burning hot water. Spend more money for something else. Also this is a MOTEL not a hotel which was not listed when I booked. never again. Front desk staff was super nice though. I cannot blame them for anything.

Room was very smelly, 86 degrees in the room on arrival, took forever with door open to cool down. Bathroom is disgusting state of repair, crumbling wall, rotted out door, leaky faucet. Breakfast very sad with little choice and pre packed sausage and egg biscuit heated up in a hot tray. Bacteria delight! Whole stay was horrible.

I stayed for 2 nights, and the room, bed and bathroom are neatly maintained. Breakfast is fresh and warm. Very close to nearby restaurants as well. Liked the stay and definitely recommend this hotel. to anyone visiting this place.

The staff was Awesome from start to finish. Will keep coming back and look forward to interacting with the staff. Felt like a family experience for sure. This is my definite go to when in the area. Very positive experiences.

Dusty, and not maintained. This is more on par to a motel than a hotel in every way. Horrible water pressure, bulbs blown, TV not HD so the signal coming in isn't picked up to where its a decent viewing experience. My room key did not work in the morning coming from breakfast and the front desk worker was very familiar with the whole routine of it all...it was raining.

Had a wonderful stay. The facilities were excellent and service was top notch. Could be able to stay peaceful through out the stay without any disturbances. Definitely would be my go to option. Highly recommended.

the air conditioner malfunctioned and was noisy…there was mould on the bathtub caulk, too crowded a room with the furniture, no elevator the host was very pleasant and apologetic for washrooms not being available due to not having been cleaned…short staff

The numerous deficiencies at this hotel (1 night) were replicated at a previous 4-night stay in Albany, NY. BWH SureStay hotels are probably a bad bet no matter where you choose to stay At Brandywine, the treadmill in the fitness room does not work and is, in fact, dangerous. Noisy window unit A/C, claustrophobic bathroom, non-working TV remote.

I only rated this hotel 1 star because the front desk agent, Nikki was very friendly & helpful. This by far is the worst hotel I have ever been to. The pictures advertised must be from when they first opened. Complete false advertisement. Long story short with pictures provided as proof. The room was horrendous. My sheets had a smear on them that I'm 98% was blood, comforters had black pen ink on them, they left us with neatly folded toilet paper that was half used, bathroom linens looked as they had been washed out by hand and the bathroom itself was disgusting. The tub looked old and dirty inside out. After driving 12+ hours, checking into a hotel room like this was the last thing I wanted to do. Granted we arrived around 11:30pm however we were told there were no other linens and there was nothing they could do until the next morning. I was offered a room just for the night but it was a smoking room and that wasn't an option that would work. We ended up sleeping on top of the sheets fully clothed for the night because at this point was our only option. The next morning I reached out to the manager Deep immediately to try and resolve the problem. My only options were wait for another room to be cleaned or they could clean our room. Because of how unsanitary the room and property was, we decided to check out after 8 hours. Not once did management apologize or offer any other suggestions. Very nonchalant I don't care attitude. We were also told breakfast would include eggs,sausage etc. Breakfast consisted of frozen Jimmy dean microwave sandwiches and possibly pound cakes. There was NO hot breakfast spread. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Would NOT recommend. **would only let me share certain pics**

Love my stay the check in was pleasant those ladies was great they made u feel at home home away from home love it I will recommend family and friends to stay there when in Delaware .I can even give them the ladies names if that isn't friendly

There were small flies (maybe fruit flies) in the room, we were only given 2 towels during our stay. Location is good, there are things to do within driving distance and a few places to eat within walking distance

Very polite and convenient for families. Absolutely love the 12 pm check out. Kids were very satisfied with breakfast sandwiches. Could have some more options for ones with celiac. Over all great stay!

Very well serviced room and stay experience. Clean and affordable in all means. Loved the way the staff were helpful and professional. The internet access was very fast and had a great time working with my last minute trainings.

Overall this was a solid hotel. The room was nice and clean, and he service was great. The room I stayed in was in an awkward spot for wifi. It was between to access points. So it would flip between a weak and strong wifi signals. So the internet was spotty and I found it easier to use my cells hotspot instead of the hotel wifi. I didn't get breakfast here so I cannot comment on that. I also didn't use the pool but the pool area and pool were clean. The hotel had easy access to get in and out and decent parking. I would stay here again.

This was the worst MOTEL that I've ever stayed in. There were mosquitoes, and flies in the room. The refrigerator and blow dryer didn't work. The shower was awful and wouldn't totally turn off. Walls needed to be painted. Bathroom walls were disgusting. There was dust on the AC unit. The parking area and sidewalks need to be bleached. I looked at the breakfast buffet and left. The pool is in disgusting as is the hot tub. I recommend this MOTEL be condemned!

i've been staying at alot of hotels recently since i have been in between apartments & jobs and i will definitely say this is the best one i've been to around at not such a terrible high price. it's higher than i'd always like to pay but it's true u get what u pay for because i stayed at a few cheaper ones and they were horrible !! this place has been good to me since i started staying here the staff is always amazing !!! thank u guys for being kind and considerate of me because other places surely were not!!

For the size of our family it was great. The beds were the best part. Upgrades are definitely needed. The staff allowed our family to entertain in the Courtyard each night that was very appreciated. We enjoyed our stay minus a few room things like lights not working, water running from sinks above rooms leaking into other rooms. Upgrades needed.

The room I stayed in was not cleaned accurately, hair in the bathroom floor and tub. Bathroom tub looked dirty and shower curtain had mold stains and smelled. Under the bed was a plastic bag which means no one cleaned under there behind the bed close to the night stand was a huge spider. The closet which occupied the refrigerator would not stay closed and would'nt keep items cold enough l. The wall paper on the wall should be upgrader and also a outlet on the wall showed wires which should of been covered. The room 205 never again i heard they have better looking rooms but never let them give yoy 205 horrible experience

it was a great hotl i stayed with my family nd my kids loved the place and i am so happy looking at the way they enjoyed in the pool i would defenitly recomed the place to all the others who goes to wilmington delaware

Great location, easy to highways and restaurants. The room we stayed in looked renovated compared to the photos on here, I've attached to this review. Didn't see elevators, most rooms surround the pool in a rectangle, then there's a single strip of rooms that's separate, closer to the parking lot. We stayed here because they were pet friendly, which was great. Breakfast started at 730, toast and prewrapped Jimmy Dean style breakfast sandwiches. The pool area had 3 sections, a kidney shaped pool in direct sun (was pretty warm!), Seating all around then 2 little areas, one had a 3ft hot tub, and the other a kiddie pool, only 9-12" deep. Would stay again in the area, was good value

i came here to spend my time for my self nd loved it. hey were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early . I got to hotel super early and I didn't wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there.

The price I paid most definitely DID NOT match the facility. We went into the room to wipe down the counters/toilets etc and lots of dirt was present. The molding and shower throughout the bathroom was worn and discolored. The parking lot did not seem safe and I feared my vehicle would be vandalized. Sporting event guests also left trash throughout the rear of the parking lot. This hotel is in need of renovation ASAP.

Wow. Although this is not the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, it is close to the bottom. We booked this because our family was staying here and we had not read the reviews. Check in is at 3pm. We showed up at 2:30pm and they said the room was not ready. We showed up right at 3pm and the room still wasn't ready. Room itself is dingy - paint peeling off the walls, dirt and dust on the floors, mold. (Our family members showed up to their room at 11pm with water all over the floor from a leaky toilet.) We were finally allowed to check in at 3:30pm. Furniture is just old, beat up, and stained. I almost fell off the office chair because one of the wheels fell off. Breakfast is pathetic - don't even waste your time. And while we were in the lobby eating toast (that's about all they have), a guest in a wheelchair soiled himself and the carpet beneath him because his wife left him unattended and he had to use the restroom - but the restroom in the lobby is broken! Our electronic key card stopped working at 10am (the front desk lady said it automatically shuts off at 10am, even though check out is at 12am!), so we had to go back to the feces-soiled lobby to get our card re-keyed. Sheets seemed clean, but smelled like someone was smoking cigarettes while they were doing the laundry. No carpets on the floor to make it nicer. The room was about 100 degrees when we entered. Tub faucet had a constant leaky drip that drove our cat insane and we had to keep the door closed. Location is good, but it's not worth it.

Housekeeping was great - the room was very clean. What disappointed me was that I locked into the non-refundable rate that they advertised as the lowest. Then 2 weeks before our stay I get an email through which I can get a lower rate. Neither the hotel, customer service, nor the 'low rate guarantee' staff would provide me with a credit for the difference because I already locked into a rate. My lesson was locking into a rate meant I paid more than if I had booked at the last minute. Very disappoint with their lack of help.

Staff is unfriendly (check in was a disaster), rooms are dirty (floors dirty, sheets covered in lint, dust), hotel is unkept, bathrooms need updated (bathtub had water under it and moved when you stood in the shower), lights flickered. This place should be shut down.

I booked the hotel on the hotels.com website. I'm severely allergic to pets and needed a pet-free room. The site said they were pet-free, per the hotel. Also, the initial call said they were pet-free. Apparently, they are not. I saw another site online late afternoon the day before the trip and became suspicious so I called again. They do allow pets with a fee and their story kept changing on whether the entire hotel was pet-free or if just a few rooms allowed pets. I was on the phone with them at 3:55. During the conversation, we hit the 4pm mark and they said no refund after four pm. I was charged the full night and I was not able to stay in the room due to the pets. They were very flippant about it. Customer service exceedingly poor. Beware if you have allergies. They are lying.

Stayed in exact same room 4 weeks ago. Reported previous issues and were hoping they would be fixed but they were not. My key didn't work. Frustrated, I simply pushed on door and it opened. Frightening to say the least. Half light bulbs in vanity area were out. Mattress is bad as you feel the springs in your back. Shower still has no hot water. NO HOT WATER!! Temperature is less than tepid. Sink has hot water. Privacy curtains are broken. I had to used a clothes hanger to secure them. Floors were dirty as well.

Easy to find, friendly reception, free parking right next to the room. The room was a bit smelly, either due to guests violating the non-smoking policy (and leaving cigarette burn stains on the bathtub) or it has been a smoking room for a while. Breakfast was good with a choice of cereal, freh scrambled eggs and a variety of sugary yogurts (no plain). The bed was comfortable, I slept well; internet was nothing to complain about.

The hotel is old and in poor condition. We had to move rooms three times because of issues. The breakfast offered had a very limited selection and was of poor quality. there wasn't even water available. Wasn't worth the money paid.

The location was conveniently located to Longwood Gardens, which was our destination for the day. The accommodations were clean. I had a minor TV connection issue, which was cleared up easily. Front desk staff were all friendly and helpful as needed.

This was the only hotel I could find in this area during this time. Not sure what was going on in the area. It is in an urban area of Wilmington. A closed and abandoned restaurant is right in front of the property and did not help the image at all. I found two large dead bugs in our room which also did not give me much confidence in the cleanliness of the facility. I must say the front desk was nice and helpful. the room was not ready when we got there after 4:00 so we had to wait. They apologized and offered to help with moving luggage. It was a 0ne night stay, not sure I would stay here again.

Hi, the room I stayed in was dirty. I like BW brand, but they've declined on the post pandemic world. My room's floor was sticky and dirty. After I swam I showered and shimmied the bath mat across the floor to remove the stickiness. The bath mat was grey and the floor could have used another wipe. Lots of spider webs at the base of the floor lamp, and, is that mouse poop? Dust on the lamp shades, etc. An okay check in experience, as that area is beautifully maintained, but the person at the desk was aloof. One positive, the pool is Beautifully maintained.

I have stayed at this location several times during the past 6 months when in Wilmington visiting family. My perception is that ownership has devoted all of their money maintaining and/or improving the public areas to the detriment of the rooms. On two of the stays we had water backing up into the bathtub and/or sink. The first time this happened we reported it and the maintenance staff were able to resolve it quickly. However, on the most recent stay we had a slow draining tub (we were standing in about an inch of water at the end of a 8 - 10 minute shower) and the sink wouldn't drain, so there was debris floating in it throughout our stay. We reported this twice, and after the second report maintenance apparently came to the room while we were out, found that they could not resolve the problem, and left a note on top of a towel draped over the sink stating that it wasn't working and that they couldn't resolve it! Apparently the expectation was that we would wash our hands, brush our teeth, shave, etc. in the shower (which also wasn't draining properly). The rooms are a bit dated, and during our most recent stay the heater in the bathroom (it was summer so we didn't use it) was literally falling off the wall. And despite a quite generous application of caulk around the bathtub there were still large gaps between the tub edge and the floor where rust was forming (gaps were an inch or so in some areas). We had gnats in the room during our entire stay (not sure from where they came). We'd kill one only to find two more. Since they were there upon arrival we couldn't have caused that issue. Perhaps the prior occupants had left food lying around... There were 2 chairs in the room, one of which had a large stain on it. We didn't use that chair, not knowing the genesis of that stain (the stain covered about half of the seat). On our most recent stay the toilet ran continuously (we eventually learned that jiggling the handle sometimes corrected that), the shower control changing flow from faucet to shower head didn't work (the shower ran regardless of setting - not that we wanted to bath in the tub, but it still should function properly.) On the positive side the front desk staff were all very friendly, the breakfast was decent (no fresh fruit, but enough offerings for most folks to find something to eat) and the common areas, such as main lobby, pool area, exercise room, guest laundry (which was out of order during our most recent stay) were all fine. We don't expect luxury accommodations when staying at a 2 star facility, but we do expect the basic items, such as bathroom fixtures, air conditioning, etc., to function as designed and intended. We've learned to adjust those expectations if we are going to stay at this location, which doesn't reflect well on the brand, unfortunately.

My son and I were traveling to and from a soccer game and wanted to spend a night before continuing our travel home after the game. Usually Best Western's are a great value and are clean. Not this SureStay! Semi renovated old motel, the room we had was one step up from a motel you'd get in the middle on nowhere. The bathroom had a hole in the ceiling with a missing recessed light, the exhaust fan was from the 60's and the sheet rock/ paint were peeling. The sleeping area of the room was ver y outdated with just newer vinyl plank flooring. Definitely would not recommend.

Based on the area this was an affordable option. The bed was fine. TV remote controls were confusing as there were two. You had one to tun on/off the TV and another to change channels. The room had a refrigerator which I did like. The bathtub could have been cleaner (I am very picky) but was OK. It had a pool that I didn't use because I just didn't have the time. My biggest complaint was the breakfast. They didn't re-supply the items timely so there was very little scrambled eggs and if there was bacon or sausage, that tin was empty. They also did not have any orange juice and the regular coffee container was empty. I just found other things to eat and drink.

We had ants in our room. I constantly killed small ants near the sink and refridgerator. Then we had orangish water. The tub was filled with dirty residue after a shower. I called and told the staffa bout my problems and they were unwilling to do anything to solve them. They had no rooms to move us to. Stated that they cannot control the water pipes under the buildings, and said that they had nothing to help me with the ants. I asked for my money back and they denied it.

This is a hotel of the 70's, when Best Western was one of the top hotel chains. It's been slightly updated. The main compound of rooms are accessible through the lobby or locked side entrance doors. There are no interior corridors. Second floor is accessible by stairs, no elevators. The central compound was a very nice swimming pool and hot tub. All the rooms in the central compound area face the pool. Access to the pool for the other units is through the lobby. Our room was nice, but dated. Reasonably clean. Queen size bed. Large flat screen TV. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron & ironing board. No hair dryer. The bathroom is split. Separate toilet and shower/tub. And the sink area also has a door (double doors that don't fit well enough to close properly, but at least block the light from the person still sleeping). Hot water was adequate. The breakfast bar wasn't busy. Not much variety. Scrambled eggs, crunchy sausage links, 2 dry cereals, oatmeal packets (but no brown sugar or other toppings), bread & muffins, yogurt, coffee, and hot water. It's not an expensive hotel, but decent for the price. It's also very conveniently located, if you're visiting Winterthur, the DuPont mansion/museum.

Our room was less than desirable. Wall sockets were exposed. Sheetrock was gouged. Floor was dirty. Long streaks of stains (maybe coffee) on the bathroom wall behind the door. Black ring around rim of outside hot tub. On the plus side, they provided an adequate breakfast.

Awful breakfast. No fresh fruit and other missing items that were clearly listed at the registration desk. Get there real early, or the bagels are gone Terrible tv reception. No streaming. It was an old tv. I found the linens itchy.

The sheets had visible stains on them. The AC barely worked and never cooled the room. The breakfast was nothing great and items in the refrigerator were not cold. I would not recommend this hotel. Only stayed since we couldn't get a refund.

Rooms were disgusting, we had to go to buy cleaning supplies to clean ourselves, all the 10 rooms of our group were the same, premises are horrible, there's a bad smell everywhere, rooms, hallways and lobby, they're deceiving people pricing this motel as a 3 stars hotel, make yourself a favor And go somewhere else.

When SureStay Plus Brandywine voided a July 21, 2021 museum/hotel/dinner offer we wanted, my husband and I made reservations at other hotels. One was Best Western's Mendenhall Inn in nearby Chads Ford, PA. We had received no email confirmation between May 20 and July 19 from SureStay Plus Brandywine about a possible alternative reservation before we left on our road trip. The SureStay manager insisted on charging us for a two-night stay that never happened. I emailed the hotel desk. No reply. When I tried calling the manager, she was not available. She never called me. Contacting Best Western customer service (for the fourth time in many months) I was told that in February the SureStay Plus Brandywine manager returned the charge for one night (and kept one night due to requiring customers to cancel reservations). Well, there was no such refund to our credit card. Now SureStay Plus Brandywine has a new bookkeeping system that can't track prior refunds. Failing to send a confirmation of a new reservation in a timely manner; refusing to communicate with us; insisting on keeping our money; claiming to return money; and not returning money are questionable acts. Best Western shouldn't be affiliated with such an unprofessional operation. We rely on Best Western's reputation. And we still should get our $298.59 back.

I booked a non-smoking room, was assigned a stinky smoking room. Sink drained poorly, TV remote was defective. Mattresses were decent. We didn't use their free breakfast. Instead went to Lucky's 1.5 miles up the road, which was excellent.

I really enjoy staying here. The staff is always so nice and welcoming! Feels like home after a long work day. Whenever I check in, I am greeted very warmly and the room is almost always close to the lobby. It's clean and convenient as well!

I love Best Westerns, recently stayed at one in Bryce Canyon, UT. That hotel puts this one to shame. Room is rundown, ceiling is peeling, reeks like smoke and has a hardwood floor instead of carpeting. No problem with the floor till I got out of the shower, dried my feet on the towel than walked across the floor and my feet were filthy. Walls are paper thin and got to listen to the next rooms television (which was at a normal volume) all night long. Took a quick look at the sad breakfast buffet and knew I would not be coming back.

Very low price,clean, comfortable beds,pleasant staff and guests...Good location for driving between Outer Banks and NYC and breaking up trip. Lots of restaurants in vicinity. Good prices on gas. Great choice for our trip.

I stayed in Room 322 on 4/9/22. Main desk employees were surly both on check in and check out. No smile, no welcome. The toilet in my room didn't flush and the safe box didn't work (low battery). My room was very noisy! This place is way overpriced. Stay elsewhere!

The place is run down, in disrepair, and isn't worth the money. They tried to upgrade the place and failed. They need to demo the whole property and build something that comes close to the price you have to pay to day to stay in a hotel.

Room was dated…there was blood on my sheets…as well as left over wash clothes on the shower rail tub was moldy and mildew ridden the toilet leaked from the bottom maintenance never came to fix it room was not as pictured in app safe yourself the hassle spend a little more money for a better hotel

The hotel staff was excellent. The room was clean and nice. Breakfast was actually ready early. Housekeeping came and straightened up our room. The customer Sevice was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed our stay.

Dirty sheets lumpy pillows worn furniture generally unpleasant. I cut my stay short. Usually BE hotels are very good but not this one. Very poorly kept up property. Many other hotel choices in the area.

very old property nothing is updated and I mean nothing I used my bath towels to stay warm. I'm so grateful for the front desk receptionist she gives this hotel a 5 star without her its a zero. I traveled 2 hours but left at 9am I didn't even want to shower very old and not comfortable

Could definitely use some updating. Bathroom needed the most updating. Bed was comfortable. Ran out of eggs and sausage by 7:20am. Posted breakfast time was 7-9am. They did not replenish it, once it was gone, it was gone. Very disappointing.

Excellent time for my "Jordan year". Definitely will visit again and try the hot breakfast and pool. The staff was very helpful. The room was very up to date and clean. The tv, lamps, microwave and fridge all worked effectively.

We are fans of the BW in general, but have not always had good experiences with SureStay. We took a chance here, and are so glad we did. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The room was spotless. Everything worked. There is a diner-type of restaurant (serving alcohol, too) next door. Continental-plus breakfast with really good coffee. We will definitely be back.

This was the best hotel I had in a 2 week trip to New England. The front desk clerk was super friendly. The room was clean and smelled good. A restaurant was next door for easy access. They provided a light breakfast. I'm very pleased with my stay.

Dirty sheets, wrappers on counters, smoke smell in nonsmoking room, dirt on floors, no water pressure, rude front desk staff, no late checkout option, cleaner brings kid, limited breakfast that runs out.

Young lady at the front desk was incredibly sweet and pleasant and upgraded my room to a cute little Victorian paradise. I was a little nervous when I saw the surroundings pulling into the parking lot but my room was clean and comfortable and decorated like a bed-and-breakfast inn. Many restaurants within walking distance and a good diner right in front of the hotel parking lot.

This place did not even remotely match the pictures/description of the hotel's web site. The rooms were all run down and tiny. We had reserved a king room with a rollaway, but there was not enough room to get around, much less put up our suitcases. Our room smelled like smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. The staff was friendly and was able to move us to a room with two double beds. The double beds were worn, and all the fixtures and furniture were well used. Neither room had very much storage space. We ended up changing our reservation to another hotel after the first night of what should have been a three night stay. Overall, the hotel is old and run-down - paint covered up water stains. For the price, I would expect a lot better.

'Non-smoking' rooms smelled strongly of stale smoke; changed rooms but was given room with mold; bed supports failed, resulting in collapse of mattress to the floor; requested extra blankets but was given none;

The hotel is horrible. Rooms are dirty and very outdated. Linens were stained and dirty. Clientele was disgusting with one doing drugs. Breakfast was disappointing to say the least. Do not recommend, absolutely disgusting.

It wasn't entirely a negative experience. The front desk staff member who checked me in was very kind, and pleasant, and made me feel welcome. She was very professional, and let me know that she had maintenance staff on hand if we needed anything fixed before 10:30pm. Unfortunately, I had to be somewhere, and just dropped my bags without walking through and didn't get back before then. When I got back to the room, I went to the bathroom, and found the ceiling fan was caked with dust, and the ceiling tiles showed a lot of water damage. Worst of all there was a 6 inch circle of black mold on the ceiling tile above the shower head. There were also a toilet that you had to hold the handle down to get it to flush and a broken towel rack. Being late, I shut the door, and went to bed. Woke up to a mediocre breakfast. There were 3 bagels to choose from and some blueberry muffins. I took a bagel and started to toast it, and realized there was no butter. The front desk person came and refilled the bagels, and I asked about the room and the mold, and got no response. The second day, the breakfast was empty for the most part. I don't know if they just don't offer Saturday morning breakfast, or what. There was a very sleep looking front desk person who came over while we were eating, and they looked at the empty fridge and empty bins where there were muffins. I expected that she would come back and refill some of the items, but instead, she went back to the front desk and sat down and turned away from us.

The room was dark, dingy, and smelly. The grounds were poorly maintained. People were very loud early in the morning. I requested to checkout as soon as I arrived when I discovered the pool and hot tub were closed for the season, but was denied without paying for the night. The front desk clerk was exceptional!

A dated property showing its age. Has WiFi but we were in a corner room with no signal in the room. The breakfast was average but readily available. Room was small but clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bottom line, I would not stay there again.

The check-in desk woman could not have been nicer. That's the good news. Bad news - motel is circa-1965 Holiday Inn and hasn't been updated since. The room was not clean; one of the beds appeared not to have been changed (there were lots of dirt and sparklies in it). The bathroom was tiny - had to maneuver around between the toilet and tub just to close the door. I do not recommend walking on the carpet barefoot. There appear to be a number of long-term guests. The breakfast was pitiful (corn flakes, a few muffins, milk, juice, coffee). The pool looked ok with just a little green growing on the bottom but the "spa" looked like it hasn't been used this millennium. There was a man sleeping in his car at the convenience store next door - he probably made the better choice.

Hotel not as pictured. Housing projects behind it. Prostitutes walking over from the projects. Drug deals going down. Filthy, dirty rooms. Looked like dried up puke on the dresser. Only stay here if your best other option is sleeping in the dirt.

This hotel looks amazing from the lobby stand point the rooms aren't so great but the beds are ok. There was trash behind the dresser but that was about it. The receptionist is the best she is very patient and pretty.

Pulling up on the outside I was unsure I had the right place. However the inside was so nice. What really made the stay was our check1in receptionist. I stay at a lot of hotels and she was easily the best receptionist I've ever had.

As others have noted, this hotel is worn. At check-in, the front desk offered an "upgrade" to a room that turned out to be very tiny but on the "courtyard", so I had to go back and ask for the room I originally had booked. I recommend getting a room on the first floor unless you don't mind carrying your luggage upstairs. The room itself, even though it faced the parking lot, was quiet (with the air conditioning running) with soft towels. Good wifi. The included breakfast was pretty sad and not well-maintained, so don't expect much.

The hotel is more than dated and needs sprucing up at the least. Our bathroom fan gave one horrendous squeal before dying. Since it was horrificly hot, any bathroom time would be very uncomfortable. The floor was not clean. The ac was noisy and not as efficient as others in our party were blessed with. The bed was ok. The breakfast is limited and runs out by 8:30. Convenient locale.

The lobby and pool area are nice, but most of the rooms are on the outside of the courtyard off the parking lot, and this section is very tired looking. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable. However, cleanliness of the floors was an issue, along with pickup of trash in the common walkways outside of the rooms. For a marginal increase in room cost, there are perhaps better values elsewhere.

The location is ideal for getting to a variety of places. Can walk to several eating places that have great value for portions. The area is right on the highway. Its not the usual Best Western Plus I'm used to ...But I stayed for the two days because of the convenience

Scummy hotel, we ended up booking this for 5 days and having to stay somewhere else because it was so disgusting. We never did get a refund. The non smoking room was definitely a smoking room. We swapped room to another “non smoking room” and it still smelled like smoke. The carpets were visibly dirty with gravel and dirt. I was mortified to let my baby crawl around on them. The beds were con-caved in and extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom mirrors were smeared and tub was stained. There were also a lot of questionable characters wandering around the hotel. Breakfast was minimal because of Covid. Don't waste your time or money.

This hotel really needs some good management. The room smelled like mildew from the old disgusting carpet. There was trash left outside some of the rooms. The overall outside maintenance was lacking. Would only stay there in a dire situation

The room smelled dank and like mildew. The shower had ants, sink drained slowly. The walls had dust all over them, the bathroom had hand and finger prints over the walls and door jambs. The sheets seemed clean, but the rest of the room was very unpleasant

This is a motel-style hotel, with the "plus hotel" part still facing the outdoors (just a courtyard). My rooms looked NOTHING like the photos on Tripadvisor, I'm so confused. Staff were not friendly. Microwave didn't work, remote didn't work, vending machines didn't work, coffee was empty at breakfast. It's fine for a stopover to sleep, but restaurants in the area close by 9 (Taco Bell closed at 10!), so be prepared to eat gas station food if it's late. If you get a great deal (like, under $75) book it. If you think this is like other Best Western hotels...it isn't. Pros: it was clean enough, and the pool looked nice (too cold to try it).

This place is a dump. The outside is worn and needs a coat of paint and cosmetic repair and facelift. The interiors of rooms need renovations and replacement of furniture. An extra $365 was charged to our card after we paid for the room in full. Fortunately our credit card company denied the charge. No explanation was given by motel staff for this.

Room was the wrong one that I booked and it was disgusting. I asked to more but they wouldn't honor the same rate. Staff was not caring. Friendly but unresponsive. Good location but check around for a better option.

Visually seen people shooting up in front of my room not to mention my 2 year old was with me. Alot of drug deals and shady characters that have no business being there. Staff no where to be found while all this is going on. Alot of people just hanging out.

Our room was filthy, nothing in bathroom drained properly, dirty towels, stained mattress protectors on our beds, crusty carpet, sticky black substance all over the phone, fridge was gross. Really needs a good deep clean and new housekeeping staff or accountability from management

Black soot/dirt material out of heater/ac unit, could not use due to the breathing hazard of the material that was coming out, was disgusting. The roof was being renovated and the noise was incredibly loud at 8:12 in the AM on a Saturday. The front desk clerk during check in was awesome and friendly. The front desk clerk during check out was rude and did not care to listen to our complaints.

Came to visit friends and this place was close. PICTURES ARE DECEIVING!!! We had to call 911 at 12:30 in the morning because people were trying to break in cars. And the beds were terrible. Don't go there.

Very difficult to find as entry was in rear service road area with no signage. Old,dated motel style with sketchy cleanliness. Bathroom fan didn't work and light flickered. Hole in ceiling so wires visible. People above fighting so badly that police came. Pit bull two doors down very noisy and aggressive. Breakfast awful! Stale and little choice save for generic cornflakes, yogurt and applesauce. For over $100 per night, definitely not worth it. Keep driving!

We stayed in this hotel for one night and it was excellent! The location was great and in a safe area. The room was very nice and had all the amenities you need. All the rooms were enclosed around a beautiful pool. Aijner, the young lady who checked us in, was amazing. So friendly and professional and always smiling. A great ambassador for this hotel. Very conveniently located close to several bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

We made a reservation through a service a few hours before checking in while traveling on Rt. 95 during the pandemic. The hotel is in a convenient place. It is a very old motel style with a difficult layout. The rooms have not been renovated probably since the 80's. The person at the desk was not wearing a mask or gloves. The first room given us looked like something from a bordello. Totally unacceptable. When we requested a standard room, we were charged for an upgrade to "business class accommodation" even though our confirmed reservation was for a "business type" room. We used to live near this hotel and it used to be nice. We would not stay there again.

There's a great diner in the same parking lot as this Best Western, with a very impressive selection. The hotel itself is comfortable. They have continental breakfasts available as well as a DVD library you can check out movies from. Not many hotels still offer something like that.

It is ok. Nothing is wrong. But, Wall air unit noise makes you crazy during the night. There is no hallway and the room opens to public area so the mpression is like motel not hotel. Breakfast is included. I only took once. Not an impressive one.

Coming from Jersey, I went solo to go see a concert at 76ers Fieldhouse .This property is located at a great driving distance from the venue, gas and food places.The bedding was sooo comfortable and the heater did its job, keeping me nice and toastee. Their team was very attentive to my needs and offered a delicious get the day going breakfast. From check and check out was super hassle free!! Loved my stay.

Room was ok except the plumbing was old and took extra time to flush and get the hot water to the sink (had to jiggle the.handle). The night clerk was a ‘nightmare,' either asleep or not at desk. Rude and inept for a ‘hospitality' business. Everyone else was very very nice and helpful.

They really care and treat everyone, we've ever had the opportunity to observe, with respect dignity and kindness... Not an easy posture to maintain in the hospitality business these days, yet the manage to do so each time.

We had a free voucher, so I can't complain about the price. The outside of the building looked OK, the breakfast was OK, and the woman at the front desk was friendly. The room left a lot to be desired. I didn't mind that it wasn't up to the normal Best Western standards (it was out-dated), but we killed a centipede on the wall & ants in the bathroom. The bathroom was so small that I had to step into the tub to be able to shut the door. There was a large cobweb and several small ones on the ceiling near the bed. The bedding and towels were clean. The other rooms may have been nicer, but I wouldn't take my chances on another stay at this hotel. I'll use my next voucher somewhere else.

The staff was very friendly. It was really a turn off when the tub was not clean and the orange juice was sour. I would not stay here again, and I was thankful that I only had to stay there for one night.

Enjoyable experience. Front desk staff very friendly and courteous. Breakfast offering could have been a little better but was adequate. We plan on staying at this location quite a few times in the future.

The person on duty the night I stayed at the SureStay Plus was a delight. I complimented her on her hair, she complimented me on my voice (that was a first!) and from there on, we laughed and laughed. I've never had a better experience checking into a hotel before. She deserves a raise! The room was fine; it was a motel, after all. The breakfast area was notable for some very interesting stained glass windows on the overhead cabinets (I am a stained glass artist, so this was impressive). The wonderful check in woman recommended the Hollywood Grill which is right in front of the motel, and this was a fine place to have dinner, since it was just a short walk away. All in all, a fine place to stay.

I paid more then my neighbor by $40.00, her room seemed bigger because of a sliding wall between the bathroom/ dressing areas and the beds . The room smelled moldy and the toilet ran all night . Very disappointed in best western this time

Clean, relaxing, comfortable stay. Staff would do anything for you. I loved how big the rooms are and the free coffee. Breakfast was tasty and the coffee was good. The location although away from the center of town has shops within walking distance which I loved because it gives you more to do. The hotel area, seating area, pool is a relaxing vibe you need because you enjoy it more.

While the staff was nice, I was just overall unimpressed with this. We have traveled all over the US as a military family, and I've stayed in a Motel 6 better than this. The baseboards and carpet were filthy for the amount we paid. I wouldn't recommend this location.

Great stay - started off with a warm and helpful welcome from the front desk staff (including arranging transport to AstraZeneca for a conference the following day). Can't speak to the breakfast as I went to IHOP for a big breakfast before a long day (legitimately a four min walk away). Pool looked nice but was not heated. Overall satisfied with my stay!

Although this particular Best Western is an older property, the staff takes pride in keeping the rooms and the property clean. The breakfast selection is not up to the standard of other restaurants. Small selection.

Excellent staff, clean room and very restful and we needed that. Received great help with bags. We had lost a way a bit and we came in very late. The front desk staff was extremely professional, and we felt very secure and safe. It was a very quiet environment.

Stayed a few days early September. Rooms a little dated but comfortable beds an d good size room. Excellent grips in bathroom and plenty of fresh towels. Breakfast was standard BW offering: coffe, tea, orange/apple juice, eggs, sausage, breads, yogurts, cream cheese etc. The I heated pool caught the sun most of the day and was very clean and quiet. Front desk very efficient and professional. Housekeeping very friendly. Fantastic diner right next door in a small strip mall. Even though it's right off a main highway, once in the room it's very quiet. Microwave and fridge in the room. Fridge was very loud....like a 757 taking off but apart from that , no complaints. Would return and recommend.

This was our first stay at a SureStay Plus and thought it was a Best Western Plus when booking. Although it was not what we were expecting it turned out okay. It is an older hotel, but they make an effort to keep the entrance and lobby looking upscale. Front desk greeter was pleasant and professional. Room was dated but clean and linens okay, bed a bit firm compared to other stays. Everything worked; good shower; microwave and mini frig in room with small freezing area. Nice to be able to park just outside the door for loading and unloading belongings. Breakfast was very basic with limited choices [unless you like bagels, as there were at least 8 flavors K], plain white/wheat bread, two cereals, etc. Area clean and neat but very cold even with a sweater on, so could not stay long to eat...plus only three tables. The WiFi was good. Did not explore the grounds. Had a van offering shuttle service to business area if needed. This would be a reasonable budget stay or overnight stop.

Best Western obtained this property and are little by little bringing it up to the expected standards of Best Western Plus. Even though old, everything was clean, no dirt in corners in outside areas and outside front and lobby have been upgraded. Rooms were fine, bedding good, towels very absorbent. Very quiet since set back from the busy highway. Breakfast was delicious, nice selection and wonderful bagels!!! All staff very friendly and helpful. Lady who tends to the breakfast area saw us struggling with a luggage rack that had a low tire, and pushed it out to our car for us!

It's mostly rundown and not up to the usual standards of a Best Western. Breakfast was poor. Some of the facility is nice, like the pool, but other parts are dingy and dirty. It's on a busy, ugly highway.

Nice, clean well maintain Hotel. Service was good, front desk was helpful when ask questions. Breakfast was very nice and the food was good. I would stay at this hotel again if I where to be working in this area.

Stayed hear as a last resort because all Dover, Delaware hotels and vicinity were booked due to events we didn't know about at the Airbase. Noisy, cramped room, substandard breakfast. Very polite staff but realizing afterwards that I overpaid. Stay here only if you get a terrific rate you can't refuse

Dont even think staying at this hotel.They dont deserve to be called as a Best Western Hotel(should be a Lodge)..Go somewhere else.. Not safe, bathroom is dirty, shower tub and sink drains very poorly, non-smoking room smells like a smoking room.

Rooms and facilities are a little old and outdated, but everything works. The staff is the reason for the above-average score - every single person we encountered there went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.

The hotel is a little on the older side but the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. I had a pool side room and it was very quiet even with people out in the pool. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We chose to try this place for a night on a trip down to the Jersey Shore, mostly because we wanted a place that accepted pets near Wilmington, DE. I checked the online site, photos, etc. - seemed decent enough and at a decent price. I will note that the staff who greeted us were excellent, very nice and helpful. However, the room was very poor quality. I hate to be overly negative but being honest ... the room odor was overpowering ... like must and pine sol. The carpet was very old, so i'm sure that had something to do with it. The AC was super cold but it needed to be because when it wasn't on, the full odor of the room came out. There were flies in the room as well, which I killed. But then more appeared. I believe they were coming from a wall vent. They were in the room all night. The bed was average, TV and internet worked, bathroom was clean, and fridge/microwave worked. Also, this is located to a lot of convenient stuff - restaurants, an Acme, convenience stores and, if you have a dog, a dog park nearby. I would not return. I'll spend a few extra bucks next year and stay downtown at a nicer place.

One of the Best Hotels, we have stayed at for quite some time. The Staff were very Professional and Friendly. We felt more than just a Guest. They were always available to accommodate our every need. I will be traveling to visit family in the area, and will stay at the SureStay when I am in the there.

The hotel really needs an update. Our room was on the bottom floor, view of the parking lot but close to the pool. The furniture is old and run down, beds worn out, carpet stained. They still allow smoking, so make sure you get a nonsmoking room if you're not a smoker! My husband called the place “a dump.” The pool was ok, but the hot tub was out of service. The location is convenient. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok, and the lobby area is nice.

This hotel is in a convenient location, the rooms are reasonably clean, there is no elevator for the second level, there is only one ice and vending machine on the first level, there is no waffle iron in the breakfast room and the toaster should be replaced.

Make sure if you are a non smoker you check that you are getting a non smoking room. We ended up in a smoking room and it was awful. They were sold out and we were not able to switch. Our toilet ran all during the nights ever 30 sec.

Nice, older Best Western with rooms that are a bit retro but neat, and clean with extra amenites, like iron, coffee maker and lots of tv stations. Pool area was lovely with pretty flowers all around! Thank you.

This was a "midway" point stay of our east coast road trip. Loved the location near to restaurant and right off the highway, it is a little hidden jewel because it was behind a diner. Friendly staff going above and beyond to meet your needs. Room was clean and fully functional, beds were super comfy. Breakfast was simple, bit limited on variety a with limited hours, however if you have an allergy or sensitivity like peanut,dairy etc. Please consider buying or finding a suitable option like we did. Please keep in mind that this location was a "motel" style setting and not an actual hotel building. Although it was not a problem for our stay, this little place had a lot of style and friendly atmosphere. :-)

A friend and I booked this hotel for a weekend trip to see a concert in Wilmington. We also did some sight seeing while there. We liked the location and were happy overall with our stay there. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was included. We did have some trouble locating the hotel upon our arrival because it actuly sits behind a restaurant.

You get what you pay for. The rooms need updating. Some of the furniture was stained and the room felt damp. We were on the ground floor of this two storey hotel that is set up like a motel and the room temperature is controlled by an older wall unit instead of a thermostat. The staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast was ok.

My granddaughter was having surgery at Nemours. Hotel is less than a mile from the hospital and there is car service to the hospital which was wonderful for our situation. Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable and staff is wonderful.

I had no complaints. The room was very spacious for the king size and great value for what I paid. I had a issue with the lamp not working but I just switched the lamps around for what I needed to do.

We booked a non-smoking room and the room smelled like smoke. After we complained we were moved to a room that was better but there was hair in the bathroom and overall was very dirty. I usually don't write reviews but I will go out of my way to notify everyone. The staff were very nice and tried to accommodate as best as they could but the hotel overall is I need of a lot of repairs. The bathrooms had visible dirt and hair when we checked into our new room and the bathroom did not flush.

I stayed one night at this property. It is easy to find and is close to the freeway, but not so close you will hear all the noise. The neighborhood seemed safe and quite. There were restaurants and plazas very close. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was efficient and friendly. Check-in took about three minutes. All rooms look to be accessible from the outside, similar to a motel. There was a pool area that looked nice but it was closed for the season. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, cereal, fruits, breads, coffee, tea, and juices.The breakfast area was nice but had limited seating. Overall, it was a nice one night stay.

The rooms were not clean and so out of date. Overall the smell around the hotel and in the rooms were damp. The setting of this hotel was more like a motel. I have stayed at Best Western so many times but this one was the worst

The staff went out of their way for us and I have a handicapped child that was getting surgery so I was in and out periodically they kept our room clean and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms are dated, but the overall experience was fantastic! Thank you again to the staff!

19 weary travelers checked in and this hotel made our last night perfect! They provided us with a meeting room and had breakfast set up early- all done with graciousness! We worked with the hotel ahead of time and they set up our group in a charming courtyard!

I cannot fault the staff we encountered during our one night stay. Check in was super friendly as was checkout. Mary at the included breakfast was particularly nice, telling my daughter to throw out her eggs as she has just made fresh ones. I don't mind an older property as well as it is well maintained. My daughter was particularly excited about the retro vibe and loved hearing stories about all of the hotels like this I stayed at when I was her age and younger. However, the hotel is not well maintained. Some of the issues with our room had to do with maintenance and others with cleanliness. The ceiling in the bathroom is literally starting to fall down. There were bits of dirt and paper and hair on the floor throughout - both in and out of the bathroom plus cracked tile on the floor. There was an odd bulge in the wall of the bedroom that backed to the shower. It felt as if there was previous water damage inside the wall. Add in the usual scuffs, scratches, and dents throughout the room. There was an actual blob of toothpaste about an inch long on one of the walls that seemed to have been placed deliberately. As it was green, we knew it was not ours as we use a cinnamon toothpaste. The carpeting had pulls in it. The "clean remote" for the television was sticky. As the beds themselves seemed clean, yet overly firm, despite the shortcomings, I would consider staying here again except for one issue. Should you get an "adjoining room", be aware that the doors are not soundproofed between the rooms. We were able to hear every word when our next door neighbor watched his television. I don't think the volume was up that high, it's just that there was enough clearance with the doors that it didn't matter. This was a big issue once the clock chimed midnight as we needed to go to sleep (and had been trying since around 10 pm) but could not until he too turned in for the night around 1 am. Though we didn't have much with us, changing rooms would have been a big production so we did not ask. Upon check out, we were asked how things were and I started by mentioning the ceiling. The response was "We know about that and put in for maintenance." Why would you still sell the room unless there are issues with others as well? I didn't even bother bringing up the noise. Again, our neighbor was not being overly loud. It would have been impossible not to hear him. We'll be returning to Wilmington often and I think we will investigate other properties in the area.

Hotel is out of the way without being too far from everything. Staff was wonderful and room was clean and nice. Only small complaint was there was a slight draft from the door. Not enough to be bothersome.

Bed was comfortable. Room was very clean. Breakfast was adequate with eggs and sausage, bagels, breads, juice and milk. Staff was excellent! Attentive and welcoming. No issues during my two night stay.

The hotel was nice to stay in I would recommend guess to stay there and do business with them the location of the hotel is in a good spot so is the food. My only concern was that the Expedia just over charge me for the room but they work with me to refund my money back.

We made a last minute reservation due to bad weather as my daughter was having a medical procedure at the local hospital. The staff was very warm and friendly and the complimentary breakfast was good.

After and exhausting 300 mile drive, I was forced to leave the hotel that I originally reserved due to conditions I can't begin to explain. I phoned the manager at SureStay and within minutes, she located a room and would have it ready upon my arrival. A short while later, I entered and was immediately greeted by Nicki, a lovely young woman who quickly processed my check-in. Offered a suggestion for dinner and provided me with the most adorable single room, tucked away in the corner of the hotel. Finally, the peace and quiet I needed. The room was clean and cozy and the staff was exceptional! Well done Best Western and thank you!

The room was really nice and the lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly and provided good customer service. The room was a good size too, two beds, a tv, bathroom, fridge and a decent size vanity. It wasn't huge but not small just the right size for me, my boyfriend and our two young kids. They have a nice little breakfast every morning but I suggest going early because it does go fast. They have a pool but we went during winter so it was closed. Nice little place though

I gave this hotel 3 stars mainly because they have an excellent staff. Also, a very nice breakfast is included in your stay. As for the rooms, they definitely could use some upgrades and the bathroom is very tiny and in need of repair. Also can not be seen from the street. It's behind another building, the Hollywood Grill.

I enjoyed my stay and even got a good night's sleep! Minimum noise from the highway and little noise from neighbors! Refreshment area close by and a nice warm room and could not hear the howling wind!

This appears to be a very old property that has been updated but only on the surface. Rooms are small and my tub had a leak at the faucet, and ceiling tiles were stained and sagging. Toiletries were not all present so I had to request an item. Breakfast was spartan although it was enough for a quick bite. The exercise room was closed for repairs. All staff I met were friendly and helpful. The best thing about it is there is a shuttle and they were quick to adjust times and get me where I wanted to go. The building could use some renovations.

Looks like a motel rather than a hotel. Rooms are located on two floors around an inner yard including a pool. Average clean, but silent enough despite being located on the Concord Pike. Poor breakfast.

Really surprise Best Western put their name on this hotel. It was clean, the towels were good and the associate who checked us in used some creativity to figure out a way to make it possible for us to stay when there was a problem with our reservation, but the room was 1-star. Deadbolt wouldn't lock. Musty smell. Bottom of tub was stained to make it look dirty. Water pressure weak. The TV remote was junky, didn't work well. Bed was comfortable.

I had 3 rooms reserved. Two were ok. The third was a suite. The bedroom portion of the suite was fine, however the attached suite-room smelled of Pot and bad deodorizer. Upon check in on Friday, May 4, I contacted the check in desk and spoke to someone regarding the smell. Then I actually went down to the desk and spoke to someone, 1-because I did not want my party blamed, I was traveling with my 17 year old daughter who has asthma who kept having mild reaction to the smells. The person at the desk stated that they would send someone up in the morning to investigate. Noone came. Upon check out I found out that nothing was written in the "maintenance" book from the person who checked me out and that it was a known problem with that suite/room since at least January that has not been handled. Also my other problem is that I was unable to connect to the wifi except in the lobby in the breakfast area which was a problem for the rest of my party also. Also the breakfast was so/so. I had asked to be contacted. As of this review writing, I have not heard from anyone. I had asked for a rebate on the room rate due to the issues, NOTHING. WE WILL NOT BE STAYING AT THIS PROPERTY EVER AGAIN, AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE... I feel bad for writing this review, but I have never had a business ignore legitimate issues during or after a stay ever. I have tried to contact them multiple times at this point.

Morning to whom this may concern, I was a patron at the Stay Plus Best Western establishment on June 30th and July 1st. My experience was terrible I was in room 222 with a broken AC and a tub the fills up with water. I was told by the maintenance that my room was above the boiler room and he advised the issue of this room before nothing was done about it. Managers Elijah and Richard tried very diligently to make my stay better, I was moved to room 202 better conditions. Come checkout on July 2nd my price changed the General Manager Mary Taylor was not empathetic or sympathetic to my conditions and my experience there. I should've been comped for my first room and was still charged wrongly for the second room was supposed to be $45.60 credit card was charged $55.89 I will not repeat will not recommend this establishment to anyone to stay if ever visiting Delaware.

This hotel is ideally located to all the DuPont Mansions and there was a great restaurant right next door. The staff, especially Elijah and Nicky at the front desk, were so courteous, professional, and always willing to help. Loved the warm chocolate chip cookies that they provided in the lobby in the evening along with hot coffee (wish there would have been decaf, though). Breakfast was limited, but good. On weekdays they had sausage with scrambled eggs, but on the weekend there were only the scrambled eggs as the hot entree. But plenty to eat with oatmeal, cereal, toast and bagels, some fruit and muffins or cinnamon buns. The room was spotlessly clean and when the coffeemaker didn't work, they immediately sent a new one up to our room with extra coffee. The lock to our door was hard to operate, and at one point the maid had to come to try and open it, and was finally successful with a little bit of work (room 243). We definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay!

While this is an older hotel, it has been well maintained, The service was great and the place was clean, The one small issue I had was that the in-room air conditioners were not able to keep up with the heat and the humidity.

a older hotel that shows the age a little. good price for the area. good service. basic breakfast that could use some fresh fruit. nice pool outside. . good for a overnight stop when you just need a bed. close to the interstate.

Nice room. Great bed. Clean. Staff friendly and professional. Quiet. Continental breakfast more than I expected. Coffee was exceptional. Not too far from Longwood Gardens our destination. Late checkout time. Enjoyed stay.

This is a lot like a FL resort hotel...2 floors in a rectangular pattern that overlook a beautiful courtyard w. pool, spa, and cabana. It is very secure; you need a cardkey to access from the outside...you come in, and you're still outside. I like this feature. friendly staff and lobby (w. baby grand piano) is nice. Contintental breakfast just avg.

If you are staying here with one or two rooms this will meet your needs. If your expectations are average you'll be okay. Groups? The only problems I had were with check ins and a few other communication issues. The front desk staff, at least one of them is woefully out of her element. All the problems seemed to come from her not properly following directions, and worse, not caring. IF I use this hotel again for this one if my groups it would only be with the understanding that Mary Taylor, the manager be there for our check in. No matter what time it is. Rooms are small but comfortable. The special rooms are musty and moldy smelling. But there are only a couple of them. Majority of the staff were pleasant and helpful. Didn't use the pool. No reason. Just didn't. Breakfast could certainly use a little upgrading. Rubbery eggs and sausage patties. Tried that once. Only once. Nice lobby area. Plenty of food in the area. IHOP, Hollywood's, a grocery store, Walgreen's and Wells Fargo Bank all a short walk. The reason I give it a 4 rather than a 3 was location and Mary.

We couldn't find anything we could afford within striking distance of Winterthur, so we said to our TomTom ... find us a hotel ... and it found the SureStay (Best Western) on Clinton Ave. What a find! What a deal! Clean. Comfortable. Quality. A great value for the price.

If you are approaching from the opposite side of the road it can be confusing trying to get into the parking lot. You must make a uTurn at the traffic light in order to get into the parking lot. There is limited parking for the size of the motel. The side of the rooms are small, cramped and out dated. If you are traveling on a budget you may want to consider this location, although there are plenty of far better hotels within a short distance to consider. There is not much difference in cost. So if staying in the area again I would be staying at either Marriott or Hilton about two miles away for just a few dollars more per night. The building is old and my first impression was that it should be bulldozed to make room for something more modern and spacious.

We were disappointed in the room itself. It was advertised on the Best Western website as being a very generic, standard hotel room. But we were put in some kind of specialty room with fancy furniture and very eclectic decorations. It was also very tiny, barely enough room for 2 people to move around, the bathroom was especially cramped. I can't say anything bad about its amenities - the room was clean, the shower had great pressure, the TV worked fine. Some people might like this, but it was not what we expected or wanted, based on the pictures on the website. It was also down a creepy hallway from the rest of the hotel rooms. It was all very strange.

Accommodations were very clean and hotel personnel very friendly. Made my stay much more pleasant being away from home. Check in and check out process was very fast and efficient. Rooms were very quiet and had all the amenities for comfort!

Clean rooms, cold A/C, nice pool and hot tub. Staff is FANTASTIC! Free breakfast, quiet, quaint, just a couple minutes off I95, near Wilmington, Longwood Gardens, wineries, shopping and Hollywood Grille right in the parking lot!

Not the best but not the worst. People and location were excellent. We would not stay here again because of the AC unit, the cooling process, and the location of the actual unit being next to the bed. It was not comfortable sleeping for us!

The room was small and dirty, it smelled of years of disinfectant spray, which you could feel in the carpets. The carpet felt dirty and damp to the touch. The room was located by the parking lot and there was a constant cloud of cigarette smoke coming from the rather unsightly characters smoking right outside the room. The room was also noisy with people coming and going through the evening and early night. The breakfast was deplorable! Breakfast out of obligation not out of choice. The rubbery eggs and mystery meat patties, along with the coco-crispies and sugar smacks make me question my decisions to book this place even further! On the up side the pool was ok if you could get past all the rules in place for its safe use. In short avoid this place and book elsewhere!

The staff pushed the limits to accommodate my shuttle needs. As a solo guest, without a personal car, my trips to and from the children's hospital were accomplished with ease. Plus, the room was comfortable and the breakfast met my needs.
