Great location. Front desk was super kind and helpful. However, as entering the hotel there is a scent that reminded me of an old grandmas house. Gave me a headache super strong. The rooms were spacious and clean. Super loud traffic noise that kept me up most of the night (single pane windows ). The walking everywhere was the best part of the hotel.

As a solo traveler in Luxembourg, this was the best place in Luxembourg I could've stumbled upon for a drink. The Le Trianon Cocktail bar was amazing! The night we arrived, they hosted “espresso martini” night with homemade macarons! Tom Herber, who recently joined the bar, made us feel right at home. Providing amazing drinks, great atmosphere and introduced us to another couple who we spent several hours with! We were late for dinner because we were having so much fun!! Thanks Tom!

Having stayed at Grand Hotel Cravat previously in 2017, we were delighted to find its charm and comfort unchanged. We are happy to recommend it to anyone who is seeking old world ambience and classic service.

Great location and delicious breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The bar wasn't open the night we wanted to meet with a friend, so that was a bummer. Carpet is getting worn and could use an upgrade.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and they could all speak English. The room was a typical small European style room, but the bathroom was nice-sized and recently updated. The bar area is a good spot to unwind after walking the city. Breakfast was slightly above average with excellent fruit available.

Friendly, charming, excellent location. This hotel is like stepping back in time in many ways. It has a lot of original charm. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast caters for a variety of preferences, lots of fruit, plain yoghurt, cooked choices, selection of coffee, pastries, scrambled eggs which were very nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. The €250 deposit was refunded on the day of departure as had been promised. Early check in was not available when we arrived and we were informed the rooms are ready from 2pm but often 2:30 to 3:00, not a problem and not unusual but something to help you plan your visit. There are many shops and restaurants locally.

Hairdryer connected to the wall is not a hairdryer especially when you have a long hair it must be replaced in all rooms. In addition, room with the view on the wall is not a good one. Scrambled eggs should be done from eggs not instant it must change as well.

The location is wonderful, we could walk everywhere, although with free public transport, it was very easy to get anywhere. The hotel has an old-world charm, good quality, helpful staff, and provides a great breakfast in serene surroundings. My only tip is to check if they have a function booked for the evening - we had looked forward to a quiet drink in the charming Trianon bar only to find a private party in full swing, and loud music until late.

Wonderful place in a superb location. Luxembourg is a lovely city and GHC is close to everything. The hotel is very old and kept the old and historical charm with furniture, decor, and all. You feel like you step in to early 1900s as soon as you walk in. The breakfast is very very good. It is really worth the money and a great experience.

Delightful hotel right round the corner from the large square and several restaurants.the only caveat was no air conditioning however, the desk manager did offer a fan which was a godsend in the unprecedented heat.

We have have just returned from a great three night stay at the Grand Hotel Cravat. The hotel is full of old world charm and is perfectly lovated for sightseeing this beautiful city. The view from our 3rd floor room of the Golden Lady and the Adolphe Bridge was spectacular. We found all the staff from the reception, restaurant and room cleaning to be helpful, efficient and friendly. As our experince was so good we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family who wish to visit Luxembourg.

Great location for exploring Luxembourg. Lovely lounge area. Room was nice, but very hot and a lot of street noise. We asked for a fan the 2nd night and that helped. I had written ahead of time to get directions from the station. A short note told me to catch a bus, but in fact the tram is much easier and a short, flat walk to the hotel. All the staff were helpful and friendly - except the concierge on duty upon our arrival. Our train from Brussels was stopped en route and we had to sit outside the station, in the very hot sun, for 3 hours waiting for a replacement bus. I sent an email about our late arrival and then another passenger let me use her phone to call, as I was unable to connect using the U.K. phone. We were scolded for missing our dinner reservation which was not very welcoming after our terrible journey.

A wonderful classic hotel in the heart of the city. The staff, from reception to the restaurant, was old school in their excellent customer service. The breakfast was diverse and high quality, as was the fully refurbished room.

We like staying in older hotels and this hotel had that old world charm! The staff was very polite and helpful! The room was huge and the little balcony a nice touch! I haven't seen bathroom fixtures that color of green since…the 60s? Anyway, everything was very comfortable and the breakfast very substantial! Only reason I gave it a 4 was the noise outside very early in the morning. Probably nothing the hotel can do about that - just be aware! The shower had the potential to flood the bathroom if the shower curtain wasn't just so and the water was at full flow!

Wonderful, clean, friendly, helpful hotel. The room was super and the staff were excellent. The breakfast was superb! It was very central to all the sights, shopping, restaurants, parks and the magnificent cathedral.

Dated and very noisy accommodation. Location is very central but that comes with a price - noise. Impossible to sleep with windows open. Reception staff were extremely friendly. Expensive for what it is.

The hotel is very nice, the staff courteous and effcient, the location brilliant, the breakfast room is beautiful, as is the presentation and variety offered, the room had a wonderful view, too bad it was very hot, a fan would have been an optimal extra for the bedroom. For this alone I don't give it top marks

Absolutely fantastic time spent in Luxembourg at this hotel right in the heart of the city. Hotel staff all very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Hotel has lots of character and charm. View from our window of the golden lady and valley was fantastic.

Nice hotel in central Luxembourg. Very good service at the reception desk as well as the hotel bar and the breakfast restaurant. The shower was roomy and very nice. I even had a little balcony overlooking the "Golden Lady" monument.

Have stayed at the Grand Hotel Cravat before and will certainly stay again. Ideal location with public car park adjacent. Friendly and helpful staff but it's a shame the restaurant wasn't open and appeared to have been closed for some time. Having said that there are lots of good restaurants very close to the hotel.

Place has a great old school feel and vibe, great location and great price. Couldn't say a bad thing about it. Walked to dinner and nightlife no more than 10 minutes away. Covered parking is close and there's an open air parking lot across the street.

I am staying here now. Here are the pros: every staff member I have dealt with has been wonderful with one exception. The lobby is beautiful. For me however, I would never stay here again. This is my second time in Europe, and at least my tenth city in Europe. This is the most dated, hot, stuffy room that I have ever been in. The bath/shower combo is so high that stepping down is very precarious, and I am fully able-bodied. This room and the bathroom layout do not look anything like any room on their website. While I understand that most hotels post their nicest rooms, they usually give some idea of the different levels. Finally, it is almost midnight, and while I understand I am staying in the city center, there's no mention of a nightclub or venue on one side of the hotel that sounds like it is inside of our room. Normally that would not be a problem but we have an all day excursion tomorrow and need to be up at 6 AM. I might feel a bit better if I could at least cool off after a long day of walking all over. I'm not a fan

This hotel is perfectly located with the valley right ahead and the city centre right behind including plenty of shops and restaurants. I have attached pictures of our hotel room and view from our balcony which was lovely. The city is beautiful and really welcoming (including for an LGBT+ traveller). The hotel has an old-style charm and is lovely, the staff are attentive and helpful. The bar says it opens from 4pm but unfortunately it was not open at all during our stay. The breakfast was good and good value for money. I definitely recommend this hotel and the breakfast, and staying in Luxembourg in general!

AC should be in four star hotels please there's no surviving the heat of Luxembourg in summer staying in an hotel like this. Hotel so old but there should be a decent way to cool off the room. Or please conspicuously place the caveat on your website so seen before booking

This hotel was located only a two minute walk from the main centre in the pedestrian only part of town. It was also just near the medieval walls. A 15 minute walk from the main train station, or the Number 1 tram, takes you near the hotel. The staff were exceptional, hotel clean and comfortable. Great breakfast as well. A lovely older styled hotel and highly recommended.

Bed was of medium quality, no airco and warm in the room. Opening the window at a very busy street is not really comfortable. Personell was friendly and breakfast was ok. Overall price vs quality not ok, paid 240 euro for 1 night

We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The hotel gave us a very spacious room with quaint, period, furniture. The views were very good, too. The breakfast was good and the staff members were all helpful and friendly. We also liked the art deco decor and the period lifts.

Really comfortable and friendly hotel in a perfect location for exploring city. Close to buses to / from the airport, the rooms are large, offering great views of Luxembourg. Don't let the lack of aircon put you off, was still comfortable even with it being thirty degrees outside.

Our view was outstanding! Our windows overlooked the Place de la Constitution and war monument, the Adolphe Bridge, and the valley—gorgeous! The desk clerk was friendly and very helpful; he clearly wanted us to have a great experience. While a few things are a bit dated, they add to the charm; everything was spotless and kept up well. It's located right near a small grocery store and many places to eat.

A nice convenient hotel close to both the centre and old town. A great authentic hotel, beautiful classic rooms. The breakfast included was great, plenty of selection for all nationalities. The bar was a very relaxing place to chill of an evening with a nationally acclaimed cocktail waiter who made all the classics but also his own concoctions. The concierge on duty 24/7 were friendly knowledgable and willing to help. Overall a good option for families and business people alike

I was visiting Luxembourg and had a bit of trouble getting my bearings so I went to the Grand Hotel Cravat to get some assistance in finding my way around the city. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful and gave me a map to help me find my way around. Perfect customer service!

The hotel is old fashioned but it part of its charm. It is very well located. The breakfast is great (no gluten free option though). The only bad experience is about invoicing : the booking was for tree and they added a supplement for the 3rd bed. I Don t even know if this is legal. It is anyway unfair. And one should not have this kind of discussion in 4 star hotel.

Everything was lovely. The staff was incredible. The food was delicious. The location was fantastic. The bar was closed because of staff shortage, but I understand that happens sometimes. The issue was when I came home late one night, the doors were locked and no one was at the desk. I was locked out in the cold for 30 minutes before I was able to get in. This was quite frustrating and uncomfortable.

It feels like taking a step back into old day grandeur.When wood finishes and big rooms with high ceilings was the norm. Beautiful location, view, rooms and some great personal touches that has been forgotten by many new hotels and groups.

Very friendly employes and the hotel was nice xmas decoration. Stay in the heart of luxembourg with shurt way to the city shopping and christmas market. We enjoyed our stay and the view to the christmas market.

Great hotel right next to Christmas market. Very friendly staff. Place was spotless. Nice breakfast in the morning.They have a sitting area by the fire place , with a big screen tv..The bar is near by .They do not have parking. So you must use public parking areas..But the trams are free to ride.

We stayed here last week and had a great time. All staff were helpful, from the reception, to house keeping to the waiters/waitresses. We felt at home. The hotel was spotless, the decor was beautiful, the location is so convenient. Will stay here again!

I enjoyed staying here. Room was quiet and I had a cute little balcony. Staff in the breakfast restaurant were very kind and the food was tasty. Front desk staff were great. Would definitely stay again on my next trip. The area is close to everything and you can take a bus from the airport without any fuss.

First and foremost, a well located hotel full of charm. Period features with a stunning bar area. Helpful and cheerful staff. We "put up" with our bathroom for this reason. It was a period classic but probably not to many peoples taste who would call it - with some justification - dated. Poor shower but very clean. Kettle only worked if the main light was on! Good choice at breakfast in another lovely room - but the hot offer was not good. While the bar is a gem, the service was a bit chaotic - to the extent it was entertaining! I get the impression this hotel can get away with things others wouldn't - I would definitely return despite some issues.

No air conditioning or fan which would be a problem in summer, Price was a bit expensive for what it is compared to similar hotels, Rooms could benefit from being updated, location is good and staff friendly.

Truly grand in the sense of age and decor the hotel is conveniently located and offers spacious rooms at a reasonable price. Note that there is not any air conditioning and the heat is centrally controlled. Therefore, on warm days ventilation could be a problem for some. While it is located on a busy thoroughfare the noise, in the evenings, is minimal. Hotel staff is efficient and responsive and the location is within easy walking distance of many interesting parts of the city.

I had a lovely three-day stay in October at the Grand Hotel Cravat. The hotel is conveniently located in the old town on Place de la Constitution near the cathedral, the Grand Ducal Palace, Place d'Armes, and Place Guillaume II. Restaurants and shops at all spending levels abound. My son had stayed there in January and had recommended it. My room was a spacious and comfortable junior suite on the fifth floor. The toiletries included the honey-based Nuxe bath gel and shampoo, which I liked so much that I plan to order some for home. Breakfast was served in an elegant room and included a wide variety of hot and cold buffet items. One evening I enjoyed a glass of crémant from Luxembourg in the bar. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant on site, but there are many places to eat lunch and dinner within a few minutes' walk. Everyone on the staff was polite, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Two of them even remembered me and my room number. All of the front desk attendants were very helpful with directions, taxis, wake-up calls, and recommendations for restaurants serving local specialties. When I couldn't figure out how to work my TV, Reynaldo arrived within 15 minutes, discovered the problem, and took care of it. Booking was easy through Booking.com, and so was messaging when I had questions before my trip. Responses from hotel staff were quick and thorough. The next time I visit Luxembourg, Grand Hotel Cravat will be my first choice.

A pleasant stay; the location is excellent, close to the Old Town, and city centre. The breakfast buffet was extensive. Good stay, although the room was a little noisy. The toilet seat was loose, however, and was not fixed.

Not much more to say, the Grand Hotel has its best times behind. Maybe built in the 60ies it might have never been renovated. Very old. Rooms are clean but really old (including the carpets). The hotel does not even try to hide the age with some new paintings. The staff is ok and friendly. Breakfast is ok too.

The hotel is located in the city centre, walking distance from most of the attraction. Service in the reception is great and profecional. Breakfast time was incredible. There work Mr. Miguel (not sure about the spelling - i apollogize) and he is the best. His service is excellent and he is very nice man in the same time. He is also a good team with another man (whose name i don't know). My room was very comfortable and cosy. Highly recommend to stay there.

Central hotel with lovely staff and very clean. Points lost as room was missing plug for bath and hairdryer not working also bar was closed. Breakfast was really good in lovely cool room. Check in and out is very efficient. Also staff very responsive.

The hotel itself is quite old, but everything in it is working perfectly fine. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was amazing, wifi was good, we had hot water to shower in, and the location was perfect! It's so close to everything that you would want to do for a tourist day out!

Very easy to reach by tram from the gare centrale. Reception staff professional and extremely helpful. On arrival, we were given an upgrade from standard to executive room. real luxury with plenty of space and a view over the old city and the Adolphus Bridge. An incredibly pleasant city with all parts easily walkable. The bar was a welcome stop and the breakfast was nicely set out and good. Highly recommended.

We had a very restful two-night stay in May 2022. We were at the beginning of a two-week trip in Europe, and recovering a bit from jet lag. We wanted a relaxing, low-key visit, and hotel provided this wonderfully. We booked a room overlooking the small park at the front of the hotel (Place de la Constitution). Our king-sized bed was comfy, and the room was pretty large by European standards. The extra space was welcome when we felt like relaxing in the room. Overall decor is a bit dated, but we were happy to accept that as the charm of the place. The property is well-maintained. We found very few specific flaws – but somehow it felt a bit tired. Front desk staff was very helpful about recommending restaurants, including on a Sunday when much of the city is closed down. Location is excellent. It's a very short walk to the city center, and also to the "Grund District." We very much wanted to visit the underground tunnels of the Bock Casements – and these are also quite close to the hotel – but these were closed for virus restrictions. Included breakfast was excellent.

We really enjoyed our two night stay which coincided with Luxembourg's National Day and celebrations. The team behind reception couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, the barman was a true alchemist, the breakfast team were great and the hotel itself was old school glamour. We had a wonderful room on the 4th Floor, it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The turndowns were a lovely touch. Breakfast was ok, coffee was great! This hotel is in the ideal spot to explore the city and we would 100% stay again if we get to visit Luxembourg again. Thank you to you all.

Overall, I liked the hotel. The absence of air conditioning was communicated to me in advance, but luxembourg not being a tropical country, it wasn't needed during my stay. Staff was very nice and professional, good breakfast and perfect location. The only thing I would mention for improvement is noise from the corridor. In fact, when someone opens a door, it feels like they open it in your room. Anyway, I would come back if need to go to Luxembourg again.

The Cravat is perfectly located, immaculately clean, incorporates many old world conveniences, has a super professional staff and serves a good breakfast. Given that there is no air-conditioning, windows need to be open and with that comes lots of street noise. My bed was super soft and offered no back support. The bathroom appeared brand new, but with the shower head on the long wall and the curtain running down the middle of the tub, taking a shower required contortions. The hotel's decor appears to have been preserved from its opening in 1953. Others have referred to it as old-fashioned. I call it ready for retirement. Net Net: with some capital investment and the services of a designer, the Cravat could be 5 bubbles superb.

The hotel is really nice! Old but clean and organized. And the location is perfect, though a little bit noise, because it is close to the Main Street. We waited for a while when we arrived, the room is not ready. But we do have a really nice stay!

Cravat combines a lot of features from traditional hotels with modern service. This is not one of the international chains or brands with identical look and layout. Simply excellent. We will come again.

The Hotel is a jump in the past. Beatiful rooms, the receptionist are very professional. The breakfast is good and the stay is good. Is located in centre and it's easy to reach tha restaurants and the down town.

Luxembourg was simply stunning. The Grand Hotel Cravat was the perfect location for our sightseeing short stay. All the staff made me and my family (11 month baby) extremely welcome. If I was to be picky, it was a shame we were in a room where two single beds were pushed together and the pillows lacked any structure.

We had a great stay here while visiting Luxembourg for 3 days. The staff are very friendly and hotel very clean. The breakfast had a great variety and cocktails in the bar were very nice. Only minor issue was our loud neighbour but that's not the hotel's fault. This is a lovely old-style hotel in an ideal location for exploring.

An old hotel that looks like something out of the 60's. Think Wes Anderson more than The Shining. We were here for two nights- the first night we had a few teething issues… largely down to confusion with a room service order and a nocturnal American tourist in the adjoining room who smoked and played House music until 6am. When we raised this with the concierge, Bettim, he acted immediately and moved us to another room and was very attentive and kind. Bettim the Dream as we'll forever remember him, was the making of a comfortable, happy time in Luxembourg and the reason we will happily return to the Grand Hotel Cravat again. Our only quibble in the end was that we couldn't spend another night in this dreamlike kooky paradise.

Such a beautiful old hotel in a great spot in Luxembourg. My room was beautiful and relaxing with all amenities necessary...and the bathroom was wonderful! I was visiting my son in the city and had all of my questions answered by the very helpful staff. Breakfast at the hotel is a lovely treat as well, delicious!!

We had a very very nice stay in this wonderfull hotel! Staff was so very friendly! It is so nostalgic with a lot of style and a very nice bar! Location is perfect: near to the city center, shops, historic buildings and the Christmas markets! Covid safe!!! Rooms were wonderfull with a magnificient view! I would recommand it to all people who want to visit this wonderfull city! Breakfast was delicious!

This hotel is old fashioned in the Grand Hotel way, and it does it exceedingly well. The look is nostalgic and welcoming, the rooms have character, and the staff are great. An immense breakfast was included in our rate and was delivered to our room by a be-suited porter on a wheeled table. The location is excellent and the view from our south-facing room was fantastic. Only annoyance was parking…you're on your own. Absolutely recommend this hotel. What a vibe!

I stayed there for 4 days. It's in a central location, close to everything. Hotel was very nice, staff very accommodating. Taxi stand right across the road. The bar was very nice. I will stay again next time I visit.

We wanted a hotel in the city centre and got it. The very friendly hotel staff helped us unloading the bagage and finding a parking place for our car. A 200 meter walk brought us to the central square with the restautants. The recommended restaurant was indeed very good. We got a larger room then reserved and breakfast in the room. No aircontidioning, therefore we had to open the window and allow noise from the aquare before the hotel. Very good place for a stopover during our journey from France to Holland.

Though Luxembourg wakes up a bit earlier than I would prefer, Cravat's team made my stay extremely pleasant, so many thanks to them. Marius at the bar was great both with cocktails and chat. I wish the staff all the best and will definitely stop by next time.

Is's always pleasure to return to our favorite hotel in Luxembourg. Cozy room, highquolity service is best way to get into pure mood of "Luxembourg feeling". Unfortunately there will be a day to leave Luxembourg but we always have in mind the next vacation to return in near future.

Very good location close to the centre with view on the Adolfsbridge. We got a very nice breakfast with room service and a big list of choices for the breakfast. Due to corona we ordered food from a nearby restaurant to eat in our room which was no problem, we even got cutlery.

When you watch hollywood films of going back in time 1930s, you cannot help that that is exactly how it's like. It is located in the most ideal place, and you are literally in the city centre with the most spectacular views of the valley. The Art decor cannot be missed - from the key, to the lift to the room itself. Even the bathroom makes you wonder - what have they left out. Just like a scene from a black and white set, you sense history, pride and also a slight glimpse of how life in Luxembourg may have been. A crown jewel one can describe, away from the mainstream hotels, this is a beautifully designed, and graceful experience. Breakfast is served, continental style, with beautifully placed silver. You cannot miss the history that is placed from the furniture to the lights to the cutlery. I really enjoyed my short stay and highly recommend it.

There's really nothing ”grand” about the Grand Hotel Cravat, but it's nevertheless a decent option in the heart of Luxembourg city. It's one of those ubiquitous European city hotels that sits firmly in the past, with heavy brass keyrings and the hotel name printed on everything from shampoo bottles to bottle openers to alarm clocks. They have awarded themselves four stars, which might have been true 50 years ago, but by today's standards that's about half a star too many. The hotel sits firmly in the 1960s, and while the rooms are clean and tidy, they are also far from modern. My room was of average size, with two chairs, a smallish desk and two small closets that would close with a quaint small key. The safety deposit box did not work. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows must have been ancient – they were extremely thin, up to the point of being useless. The balcony was a nice surprise. Wifi was free and fast. Charging your devices required finding a socket by the floor and keeping your mobile and laptop on the floor during charging… The bathroom came with a bathtub that, instead of being changed for a new one, had been painted, with the paint now peeling. Not very inviting. Water pressure was fine, though, and there was a handheld shower. There was very little room for any toiletries in the bathroom. Bathrobes and slippers were provided, as well as basic amenities including body lotion. The multilingual receptionists were friendly, and the room was cleaned daily. Due to covid, all restaurants in the country were forced to close at the time of my visit, including hotel restaurants. Smartly, a microwave had been placed in the lobby to reheat take away food (to be consumed in the room only). The best asset of this hotel is its location right in the heart of the city, next to Notre Dame Cathedral, a few steps from the two main squares and only 4 min on foot from the airport bus stop. I paid 68 EUR a night, which, considering the price levels in the city during normal times, was an excellent deal. Come with the right expectations and a desire for nostalgia and you will be sure to enjoy your stay.

I loved it. I think the pics don't make justice. Yes, it is old but in great shape. Felt transported to another times. Everybody there super gentle. Although the cleaning stuff is great, I'd say they should leave more towels, or basic things in the room, I needed to ask for that. It is like there were under a strict economy. But that is just a detail. I will stay there next time.

Nice central hotel, very friendly personnel and breathtaking view from a window. The most central place in Luxembourg City with a view to old town and Adolph Bridge. Delicious breakfast. Thanks a lot guys!)

Stayed at this hotel during a weekend, situated perfectly in the city of Luxembourg, walking distance to all of the must see attractions, parking available in the city garages close by, bus and train in walking distance as well, the ambiance and grandeur of this property is breathtaking, the staff are all professional and friendly well informed and happy to explain in detail all there is to see in Luxembourg, the view from the room of the Petrusse Valley and the Golden Lady Monument is unforgettable, rooms impeccably clean and the bathroom spacious and warm, beds are comfortable and large, great care is taken concerning all the Covid sanitation regulations and more, the breakfast was served professionally and the dining room is beautifully appointed. I am looking forward to my next stay their.
