Best Western Hotel Trier City

i stay here about once a month with my dog. rooms are large, clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet is awesome. Staff are very kind and professional

We had a pleasant one night stay here. The hotel is in an excellent location walking distance to shops, restaurants, the magnificent cathedral and the amazing Porta Nigra. Room is spacious and complimentary water and tea/coffee is always a nice gesture. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. We really liked Trier and if we ever come back, I'd definitely stay here again

This is a really good hotel, very good value for money. Central location. Very friendly front desk staff. Dog friendly, you could bring the dog to the breakfast room. Parking garage on the premises.

Good location, but no air conditioning in summer, only a small electric fan. The biggest annoyance is beds are separated and on a slippery floor, they just keep moving apart when two people are trying to sleep on them. Get a proper king size if you offer them on booking!

The rooms are spacious and tidy. Also, public areas are spacious and clean, the atmosphere is nice. Check-in staff were friendly, and helpful. Breakfast is also very good, and the selection is plentiful. Close to the old town. parking is convenient. I have stayed here several times during last two years mostly for business but once also for leisure. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are spacious and tidy and air-conditioning works decently. Also public areas are spacious and clean, the athmosphere is nice. Service is very good and helpful. Breakfast is also very good and the selection is plentiful. The hotel has convenient parking area nearby the front door and also underground. In front of the main door there is nice outdoor area to relax and enjoy beverages from the bar. Location is excellent, old town is just behind the corner. Price level is competitive mid-range.

Hotel is situated in a good location for access to the town centre. Parking is available at the hotel and the breakfast was good with a decent selection of items.

Close to centre, v friendly staff. Breakfast excellent. Room nice, although a little dated. Would stay here again. Slight downside was being woken about 0030 hours by drunk people on the street (and my room didn't even face the street). Had to close the window, which meant the room was too hot as a result.

Very well placed hotel as the pedestrian precinct is just left out of hotel and 30 mtrs along and you have access to a fantastic city centre. The hotel appeared to be quite new but it was well presented and very clean. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and guided us to move our car to level -2 where there was direct access to a lift to reception area. The lounge and bar area and breakfast area was very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with plenty of everything which was being replenished constantly by staff. On check out the staff supplied a ticket to exit the parking which was free of charge. If travelling in this area again I would certainely consider this hotel as one of my first choices.

I know hotels that offer a much more varied breakfast for a lower price, and a cleaning service that replenishes tea and coffee in the room EVERY day. The advantage of the hotel is its large rooms.

Our European history tour found us in Trier and this Best Western hotel was on the whole extremely good; it was a little more expensive that other Best Western hotels but the price was fair for the quality of the accomodation and food supplied. The breakfast was superb with a great range of hot and cold foods, sweet and savoury and the staff were excellent; attentive, helpful and cleanliness and attention to detail meant it was a very relaxing place to start the day. My only criticism would be the subdued lighting which made seeing all of the food and drink on offer a little more difficult than it should have been. Trier is a great place to visit and I would certainly stay here again.

Cleanliness is the most important thing for me in a hotel. This hotel is not the best at this point, but it's not the worst. The bathroom was little bit dusty on the corners, and in 5 days I stayed there the same dust were there and never went away, meaning it was not cleaned in 5 days. Just the toilet was cleaned, and the garbage was collected from the room, no signal of any vacuum cleaner around the room. Bed it was done every day, but pillow covers were spotted, and it was not changed. It was ok for a few days, but cleanliness it was not their strongest point.

Great Hotel, clean , friendly and helpful. Located down town. No problems bringing a dog along. Great price and an incredible breakfast buffet! Good parking possibilities.15 minute stroll to most of the sites.

Normal central based hotel, a bit old structure. Lady at the reception not very friendly. Room was ok, a bit small, bed is very comfortable. No noise. We Haven't had breakfast so we can't say anything.

The room was very clean, the bed was comfy, the breakfast was excellent (many choices, everything fresh, stuff was very kind/supportive). The location cannot be better - only couple of meter towards the main street (also the Christmas Market). Parking is possible on two underground floors - there were many places available independent there was a full house. We would come back anytime again in the future and this place is very recommended for everyone!

This hotel, on the edge of the Trier Pedestrian Zone has a superb, very hard working staff, clean rooms, and exceptional breakfasts. Value for your money!! In particular I want to commend Sabile Ayaz, Emil Khanshat and Phil Grundhoth for their customer support in answering questions, making suggestions, and pulling up maps of where best to enjoy the surrounding areas. Well Done!! A great Team!!!.

Walked to see what we came for, very good breakfast but not included as is the custom in North America, the parking was very secure and near the hotel. We didn't take advantage of the free libation but the lobby included a pool table

Good hotel close to city center. Breakfast is very good in the morning with a lot of choices to eat and drink. The rooms are clean and of a good size. Only the parking spaces in the underground parking are a bit small.

… for doing sightseeing in Trier. Located at the rim of the city center, all tourist attractions of Trier are within walking distance. The hotel is clean and has friendly, supportive staff. Rooms are small but well furnished. Breakfast is rich and caters for all kind of desires, e.g. continental, English, Swiss, Muesli etc. There is ample parking available on the hotel grounds at reasonable fees.

The room was a bit oldfashioned and had no fridge in it. With warm temperatures it can be nice to have one in the room. For a three day stay in Trier it was alright and we had a good sleep. The location was very good, from there you can walk into the centre of Trier. Also the gentleman at the reception was very friendly.

This Best Western is a well located hotel on major bus route. Just a short walk out the back door to the historic center It has a huge area for meetings or gatherings. We stayed 4 nights and were very satisfied.

I stayed here as part of a Rick Steves tour. My room was exceptional!! Very clean, a comfortable bed, very modern. The hotel is centrally located, close to everything! The staff was very helpful. Great outside space. The breakfast was amazing!

Run of the mill GWH. Staff excellent and located at the edge of the old town. In a way I prefer the other side of the town, Porta Nigra, as it is shorter to reach the center. Plenty of parking outdoor or the underground car park. If you have lots or heavy luggage I would recommend the second level as from there you can reach the reception with a lift. From some unknown reason the lift is not available on the first level. Breakfast is the usual good german standard.

Trier's Best Western is an average business hotel. It's in a good location, only about a 10 minute walk from restaurants, shops, and tourist sites. It's close to the river, and there's a gas station immediately next to the hotel in case you want to buy some candy, like I did. The best looking part of the hotel is the lobby, which looks renovated and well-maintained. Everything else is average at best. We booked two rooms and after checking in we went upstairs to drop off our stuff. One of the rooms was wide open for no reason whatsoever. People passing by, and the door agape. It instantly made us think of lack of care for privacy and security of guests. However, that was the only time that happened. The rooms are average to small, with tired looking furniture, somewhat uncomfortable mattresses, and dark feel. However, if you're just planning to drop off your luggage and go explore, using the room only for sleep and hygiene, the room is perfectly adequate. And this is exactly what we used the rooms for. All in all, the hotel is not great, but also it's not bad. As the hotel is right on a busy street, I thought it might be noisy inside, but it wasn't. If you have a car, there is a parking garage under the hotel, and the prices are reasonable. Safe travels!

I enjoyed the stay. The personnel was very polite. The breakfast was great. And the rooms were comfortable and very clean. The city center is only 5-10 minutes walking depending on where you should be.

We stayed for one night at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. there is enough parking space either outside or underground The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious enough. COVID rules are strict in this hotel and that made us feel very safe, healthy wise. Breakfast was very good. We will definitely come back, because we have not seen yet all of Trier

A short walk to the city center and other attractions. Easy access and lots parking. Friendly extremely helpful staff. The downside this trip is Covid and the rules that go with it. Will definitely be back

I thought the room was clean and comfortable, although the AC wall unit seemed to be struggling and pretty much gave up at the temperature I set. Luckily it wasn't too hot that night. The Wifi was satisfactory. The in suite bath was very nice.

The hotel is perfectly situated for tourism. Good sized rooms and for summer, the air conditioned rooms a great. Parking is available but costs extra. Service was not as friendly as at other best westerns but under corona conditions it's a bit difficult.

Great location at the edge of the pedestrian zone. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent choice for breakfast. Only was not happy with our room which was 214. It was an attic type room with a small over-head window. Bathroom was the size of a closet. We asked to change rooms but apparently this was not possible. Don't know why they choose to put us in what felt like the worst room of the hotel. Disappointed.

Came here on a weekend trip through the region and stayed one night. The hotel is very well located on the edge of the pedastrian area in the inner city. Easy walking distance to Trier's main attractions and restaurants. There is a reasonably sized open parking area but I understood that this fills up quite quickly in peak times and therefore parking cannot be reserved. Rooms and decor is clean although a bit tired. Small, clean room with tea/coffee and TV. Minimal toiletries in bathroom- tissues and soap. Otherwise everything else needs to be brought. Bathroom had a bath/shower set up. Breakfast was a pleasant buffet with a good range. There is a lobby bar for drinks in the the evening but no restaurant as such in house. A useful option when visiting Trier at a reasonable price. Would use again.

The Best Western Trier is a gem of a hotel nestled in the incredible city of Trier. It is conveniently located on the edge of the city away from most of the tourist traffic but, just close enough to venture on foot for shopping, restaurants, all while you are surrounded by the history of the amazing city. The Best Western Trier's outside appearance is somewhat normal until you pass the doorway. Once you are inside the charm of modern and rustic features give way to a warm and cozy surrounding. The hotel is very elegant and full of class. This is not your typical American Best Western. Do yourself a favor and add this gem to your collections of hotel stays. You will not be disappointed!

I spent a week here on a work/ education trip, and found it a good place to stay. It's a good base for sightseeing, and a short taxi ride from the bus and railway stations. My room was well-appointed, and the standard of cleaning was excellent - although I think that shower-curtains are now old-fashioned and they are certainly unhygenic - and a real pain when they are not quite long enough. The buffet breakfast is very good - a good variety of food, and excellent quality. The staff are super - really helpful, and definitely going the extra mile.

In need of renovation. Lacking air conditioning. Bad smell och filthy broadlooms. A general upgrade is needed to attract customers. This goes for the outside as well. Otherwise easy to find and on a goo dlacation in the city.

Stayed here many times before Best Western change over. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the level of service. Cleanliness was ok. Rooms well presented however as there is no air conditioning the room was like a sauna. Fans are provided but not a good alternative. Food on offer was good.

We selected this hotel to spend a couple of days exploring historic Trier en route to Italy. Best Western was selected on grounds of price, location to centre and safe parking. Firstly arriving by car is quite easy for sat nav Parking can be an issue if you arrive late as this is a popular and busy hotel. We arrived at 2.00pm and we're lucky enough to get the last open - air parking space. Cost €12 / day. There is also an underground garage but that costs €20/day. Reception busy but efficient. Rooms only adequate owing to a lack of space, fridge and air - conditioning. Beds comfortable and room clean with the bathroom having a shower in the bath. Service at Bar slow when busy. Not tried breakfast yet but will tomorrow. Cost €12.50/person. Very convenient walking distance to all major town centre attractions.

We exited the train at Koblenz Süd and walked the 10-15 minutes to the hotel. Very welcoming and helpful reception staff. Quiet room, OK beds. The hotel does not have a/c and the air cooling system didn't seem to be working. As a result we didn't sleep well and woke up with sinus issues. I can't imagine staying here when it's really hot. This hotel doesn't have an English-language news channel. I assumed—incorrectly—that a BW branded hotel would at least offer CNN. Lots of good restaurants nearby and, of course plenty of shopping enroute to Porta Nigra

I have reserved a one night stay very last minute, and in global was quite nice versus the rate paid. The check in was smooth to be at 2 in the night, the gentleman at front desk was efficient, quick and explained everything about the hotel. The location is very central and a paying parking is available for a reasonable price. Room was clean and enough spacious, the furniture a bit old fashioned but ok, a complimentary bottle of water was offered but no minibar. The bed was average and the bathroom too. The location even if right in the center was quite because I was in the back. I was served a drink in the bar at arrival without problem.

Romm is clean, quiet and sunny! The bed is comfortable! The location is very good in old town. The reception is very kind and efficient! I like it very much and will write 200 words to describe it to ervery one! if I goto trier again, i will suerly book this hotel again.

The hotel is very good, the rooms are big and confortable. I definitely recommend it. The hotel is practically in the city center, from there you can find Porta Nigra in less than 15 min. Markt Platz is even closer! Besides the hotel has parking lot for those wo came by car

although I am a Diamond member my wife and I were given a small room with an even smaller bed!! most of the lights were not working one bedside lamp had no bulb, the other had no shade over the bulb. a baby`s dummy was lying on the floor. after complaining PATRICK saved our stay. he gave us a new room and carried our luggage. He was excellent. BUT WHY WAS THIS NECESSARY?

Spent a night on short notice after two days of hiking in the region. Didn't have the energy to enjoy all the things on offer, but there's a nice looking pool table! Pedestrian zone is just a few meters away, there's also a petrol station with a convenience store open at night just around the corner. Staff is both efficient and friendly and the brand is known to throw in a few nice perks for loyalty card holders, such as late check out. Much appreciated!

Room and beds in good condition. Works well if you get an affordable rate compared with other hotels near Trier old town. This location is still within walking distance to all the sites. Check-in was easy and uneventful.

I was traveling with friends but I ended up staying alone in another hotel, this hotel. From what I saw, this hotel was going through some remodelations and changes, I noticed it used to be Penta Hotel and that it now belongs to Best Western. I've stayed at some other Best Western hotels around the world and I was schocked when I saw the room that had been given to me. I had a terrible migraine that day so I didn't even had the strenght to argue with anyone, so I tried to sleep covering the bed with my own jacket and in the morning I tried to explain at the reception desk the conditions of my room and that I couldn't stay in such a dusty and uncleaned place. The girl I talked to could barely express herself in english and when she said she was going to call someone else I really thought someone was going to come to the reception desk to talk with me. But no. All rooms had carpet floor they said. And I wouldn't have problems with a carpet floor if it was properly cleaned. Long story short... I went to my room and picked up my stuff and checked-in in the hotel right in the other side of the street. And since my nights at Best Western were already paid and were not refundable, I checked out the day I was supposed to without having slept there. In the photos I am posting with this review you can all see the dust in the hairdryer... the stains in the bed sheets... the dust on the bathroom floor... and the cherry on the cake! The pubic hair in the bathtub!

Very good hotel . I have no compalint at all . It is a little bit far from the station . The breakfast was at euro 12,50 which is affordable and the quality of food very good. The staff is freindly. I recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very well located and the room was nice and clean, but is is not worth the price, you easily find much better in Trier. Room decoration need update, as well as wc. You have a bar at the entrance and strangely the reception is at that bar. Breackfast is average.

We booked 2 rooms and used the hotel for 3 nights away exploring Trier. The rooms were a good size, warm and clean. The noise levels were perfect and the bar ideal for a night cap. The staff all spoke perfect english and were super helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast was good value with lots of choices and fairly decent coffee.The location is good with just a shortish walk to the main square and shopping areas.

Nicely situated near the Trier city centre. Reception is surpring as it is connected to the bar in the lobby. But ... no problem with that. Rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is absolutely spectacular with a variety is tasteful food! Great hotel ...

No-one had warned us that there'd be construction / maintenance going on right outside our window in the morning, beginning at 9 a.m., with the workers on a scaffold peering into our room (I closed our curtains ASAP) and playing their radio at full blast. Reception was friendly and helpful upon check-in. The room was spacious, but with shabby night tables. Not 4 star, for sure; maybe 2 1/2 or 3. Clean nice bathroom, though. Hotel is in easy walking distance to all important sights and to good restaurants. Parking is reasonable, at 12 euros per night.

This Best Western Hotel was a good choice for our two night stay in Trier. It is on the edge of the old city but not caught up in the noise and busyness of the centre of the the old town. It is walking distance from most of the Roman historical sites and an easy walk to the Porta Nigra. The hotel itself is clean and tidy, it is a little bit dated in parts but facilities are good and service is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little more expensive than some hotels but there was a wide range of options and it proved to work really well for my wife and I. If you are traveling to Trier by train get off at Trier Süd as it is a much shorter walk than Trier Hbf. Overall a safe and reliable option and I would stay there again without hesitation.

Located very close to the central area of “old Trier” the Best Western is a great option. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the central square and 5 minutes more to the “Porta Nigra” on the east end of town. Trier is an historic and beautiful city and the Best Western provides a handy, economic and comfortable base from which to explore it.

The hotel is located near the city center. Parking isn't free,charged 12euro for full day. The check in was fast,staff is helpful. The room is big and clean. There is no air condition,but it was ok to get a good sleep with the window open overnight. The breakfast is charged extra. The bed was comfortable. Was a good stay.

Most comfortable pillows I'd had in a hotel. Slept like a baby. There was a coffee maker in the room, air conditioning; the room and bathroom were clean, and the staff was kind. So I enjoyed my stay there very much.

Cheapish hotel but holes worn in sheets, no fridge in room, heater left blasting in room.. 25C at least when we arrived. Server at breakfast did best not to make eye contact/help us order the hot food items. Coffee machine broken at breakfast. Several guests tried to use it but just got foamy foul water. Check in went well, bartender was very friendly and helpful.

We've spent just one night in this hotel. The location is great, in the city center so we didn't have difficulties with visiting the city and then going back to hotel. The interior is interesting, modern. Especially the elevator lights. However, the halls and rooms felt a bit dark. Nevertheless, hotel is comfortable. Room size is satisfying as well as the bathroom. The breakfast choice is really a good one!

The staff at the desk did their job, but wasn't very helpful/didn't give much information. We had to ask for a city-map and had to ask how things work regarding parking. The room was OK, the heating lamp in the bathroom was nice, but the bed wasn't comfortable, we both had back pains. The hotel is close to the city center, we could do everything by foot. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, it was much cheaper to go to a nice place in the city for a breakfastbuffet.

Apart from the room being a bit cold and the AC not having any effect (used our own fan heater) the stay was good. Breakfast upto its high standards. The downstairs loo urinal light show this year was stuck on green. No complaints thou.

I stayed here for one night to visit Trier town. The hotel located at great location and was informed of evening light festival on the day of check-in. Very friendly staff. Room was spacious and clean, except had issues with the wifi as it was slow. Would stay here again if visiting.
