The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean, fresh and tidy. It was perfect for a two night stay. It is close enough to enjoy the night life of Leamington Spa, but far enough away to not be disturbed by anyone waving bars and clubs. Also the car park is free to guests.
Was at the Bowls England nationals and was looking for a hotel with carpark and decided to look at The Jephson Hotel. We booked a small room with double bed. There are two carparks on at the front another at the back of the hotel we couldn't get in the first night and left the car on the road which is very wide and ok. Booked in friendly staff on reception and went to the room. Newly decorated comfortable bed and very good bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Had pizza one night in the bar very nice. What makes this hotel is the location not far from the town and a short walk to the bowling greens. The staff go out of their way to make you welcome and a big thank you to Anthony. Will stop here again.
Initially it was disappointing because our expectations were based on the website picture of the room. Twin room have a window that looks onto a wall. Room 54 is refurbished and in comparison to room 5 better. It was very hot but the hotel provided a Fan. The cold water tap insisted on running warm water. This is the reason for the 4 rather than 5 stars. The staff however are so attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much effort and everyone was genuinely wanting to make the stay here enjoyable. The location is excellent with a 5 min walk to town and restaurants. Parking easy and ample. Beware the shower though. Slippery and the waste is located in the middle of the shower tray, dangerous to slip your toe under and take the skin off- outch . In the room you have tea making facilities and shower gel is provided. Nice fluffy towels too. Breakfast is more than adequate and a good choice. Cooked as well as pasties (warm and fresh) and fruit. Excellent fresh coffee too and a good selection of teas. Fantastic value for money - I would book again and can recommend staying here
It's a budget hotel and I'd return to it. Staff were thin on the ground however they were friendly helpful and Al that. Took twin room and we had no complaints with it. Nice towels and soap provided . Bed was soft and may not suit those with back issues
The manager, Anthony, is excellent but sadly the assistant manager is a waste of space. We were with a largish group and the dining and bar experience on the Friday night when the assistant manager was on duty were laughable. It was like Fawlty Towers! No chilled white wine, he said beer on tap was off because he couldn't be bothered to change the barrel, and the meal in the dining room was a fiasco with people having finished their meal while others were still waiting for theirs to be served. But the following day Anthony was on duty and everything ran like clockwork. He was excellent and made up for the shambles on the Friday night. Our room was lovely, quite big and airy and clean. The breakfast was good with cooked breakfasts done to order so freshly served. Dinner on the Saturday night was fine too. It was completely different to the night before! The Jephson is in a nice location to walk into Leamington Spa and overall it was a pleasant stay.
hotel looking tired in parts, some of the main areas weren't particularly clean. Rooms are basic, no air-conditioning which would have been welcome the weekend we stayed. Shower was covered in limescale which meant that the shower head wasn't able to work properly. You either had a cold shower or a boiling hot one as the controls were very unpredictable. Breakfast was ok, small selection of items. No cut fresh fruit for breakfast only cereals.
This was our fourth time staying at this hotel. Obviously, we really like it here and will stay again
Feel let down by BW! Description sounds good but not what we experienced! Dark room, poor decor, poor quality breakfast! Booked for four nights but lasted just three! Disappointed and just wanted to go home
Well placed hotel for Leamington Spa centre. Friendly staff with a nice bar and limited but good breakfast. Bedrooms were clean but sweltering and fan provided didn't really help. All in all, very good value
Needed a place to stay at short notice ,called in to ask price and availability of single room met with friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff ,reasonable price room with free car park and easy access to local facilities
The room was very stuffy and too hot, despite the radiator being off. No aircon so we opened the very small window. At 7am the extractor fan for the kitchen went on so we had to shut the window. The room was also very small- could only just get around the bed. Bathroom was dated and in desperate need of a refurb. The breakfast was good. Would not return.
Like a sauna - Impossible to sleep Upon entry to the room, it was clear there was an issue It was like entering the Sahara Despite getting a second fan for the room, it was unbearable and way too hot Even the carpets were hot so I guess an issue from below I understand that other guests suffered the same issue Completely ruined my stay and would not recommend Other more minor issues were peeling paint and a general run down look
A perfectly located hotel for Leamington and Warwick. A little tired in areas but overall a great place. Friendly staff.
Reasonable accommodation within 15 minute walk of town centre. The food was ok, but choice limited, and dining room very lacking in evening diners! There was only one other person apart from the two of us on the night we ate there.
terrible food, and no hot water in the morning. 'Beyond our control' was comment from maintenance so excuse a broken down boiler. Very basic rooms
Nice friendly welcome. Bright and clean, room nice and clean and smelt very fresh. Bar was good great choice. All staff we met very friendly polite and cheerful. Big car park on site aswell and breakfast was good all hot and fresh. Would definitely stay again
Not too far from Leamington centre. Smiling welcoming staff. Very helpful. Room very clean and amazing comfortable bed.
We had a very last minute booking due to a mix up at another hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The corridors do show signs of needing a freshen up, but on the whole it was relatively clean and comfortable (the bin hadn't been changed in the bathroom, but could have been a mere oversight on the cleaning staffs part?) The walls/floors between rooms are quite thin, so you can hear people moving about and going the toilet etc, but the bed was comfy and I actually had a decent night sleep. Breakfast was lovely, with nice thick bacon and sausages etc which were all served very hot, not warm like you can get in some buffet breakfasts. Drinks in the bar are a bit more on the expensive side compared to elsewhere, but it had a nice atmosphere.
Stayed at The Jephson for work, and found it to be a decently clean and well-appointed hotel, although due to it being 2-3 older buildings knocked together it was a bit of a maze getting to and from my room and I don't think there was a day where I didn't make at least one wrong turn! The food was very good, though the hotel is clearly understaffed as I had to book to eat in the almost empty restaurant while members of the team had to move between the bar, restaurant and reception while I was there meaning service was a little hit and miss and I didn't get to order dessert on any given evening as there was nobody available to take the order!
Had 3days break here. Staff lovely but totally overworked especially in evenings. Bedroom very small. Cold tap water was warm. Windows cracked and wet. Couldn't open them. And filthy. Things advertised on menu never had in stock. On the whole we had a nice few days.
The hotel is a bit meh! I parked at the front of the hotel and immediately as I got out my car there was a thousand cigarette butts at my feet by a door, presumably workers? The reception check in process was fine, as was the room, clean and tidy, a but run down in terms of the multiple repairs to the ceiling as you lay there. The bathroom was the highlight of the room. Now having been out for works drinks I was looking forward to breakfast, utterly disappointing. Nothing left and not replenished with no staff in site......Would I stay here again? Only if there was no other choice.
Clean, but very shabby hotel. Room was quite small & smelt faintly fusty, but was ok. Friends complained about their room - cold and broken window) so were moved to a larger room which was better, but very noisy. Our room was quiet, so I guess it depends where you end up. Hotel decor is shabby- although they've tried updating with fancy mirrors, corridors & doors are just old and knocked about. Breakfast was ok -great poached eggs on request, but rest was very basic, standard. An OK hotel, but not special!
Only needed for one night, quiet, comfortable, friendly staff. It's a clean layout of the room. Clean sheets and pillow cases. Good water pressure on the shower which was the highlight. Would use the hotel again if I was back in the area. Shared with a mate who snored wouldn't recommend that bit of the deal. Ideally situated for the town centre.
This was the first time I have ever booked a hotel at Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised that the price was not inflated and good value. Also the full breakfast service was available throughout. Thanks to all the staff - I don't take this for granted.
Poor standards despite looking inviting. Corridors need a serious upgrade. Those windows showing an empty roof space, cover them up, add some decent art work, all the walls appear to need maintenance. Wardrobe was just a make shift thing made very poorly and look awful. Get rid and buy something decent. Shower only luke warm but suited me. On a positive the reception/ bar guy was amazing, a proper asset. Went elsewhere for breakfast as reviews put me off.
Hotel is nice. Staff are friendly. Food is the let down. Tinned soup. No flavour in burgers. Breakfast. One choice of egg, Dried up scrambled eggs. Weak disgusting coffee even though it's from a machine that does it all.
The hotel is smart enough and seems to have been recently decorated. I booked a single room which was very small but good value. The bathroom was tiny and a small toilet and a shower that I could barely move in it. Housekeeping was a let down as I only had one towel, usually you get a bath towel and a hand towel, and two end scraps of loo roll. I arrived at 9.30 p.m. and it was very quiet. The plumbing was noisy during the night. In the morning I had breakfast at the earliest time and the doors were already banging. It seems to be one of those hotels that is popular woith workmen who will always rise early and with no dampers on the doors it would be hard to sleep if you were not getting up early. There were no eggs at the breakfast buffet and by the time they arrived I had nearly finished. It would be two stars if it had not been such good value.
Good clean Hotel, food was good, clean room, nice sized bed.good breakfast plenty to choose from.Internet worked wellstaff were friendly.good location for Warwick Castle,Motor museum,Jephson Gardens.Nice stay
Massive King size bed 10 mins walk to town centre staff are always laughing what a great team at the jepson beds so comfy rooms spotless we spent 4 nights and loved the stay was one of the best hotels we've stayed at the staff are a credit to the hotel
Lovely staff on reception, really helpful & friendly. Twin rooms both clean & spotless. Breakfast was also very good . 16 minute walk to the High Street so good location . Nearest pub about 10 minute walk . Check in at 2pm and nice 11am check out , great when you've had a late night !
Spent two nights at the Jephson as part of a celebratory event for our bowling organisation. The room was very comfortable and, like most of the hotel, recently decorated and refurbished. The hotel staff were welcoming and there is plenty of free parking (unlike many hotels I have stayed in recently). Our evening meal was excellent and buffet breakfast first class.
The hotel was conveniently placed for a social occasion I was attending, and was good with regards facilities - dinner, breakfast options and parking. The bed and bedding was super comfortable and the bathroom was newly refurnished in a tasteful way. The room was super quiet.
Very clean, modern interior, spacious and bright; friendly hotel team, great bar and bar staff - humorous, and serving a wide range of drinks, and comfortable beds. Breakfast has everything for all dietary needs, and piping hot. Plenty of secure parking.
We enjoyed our stay even though there was no lift and our room was up about 3 flights of stairs. We could have changed the room but we were told it would not be so nice. Our 'king double' was very comfortable and roomy with lots of storage space and good lighting. The ensuite was large with a very efficient walk in shower which suited us nicely. The room was quiet except when the people next door came back quite late often and the room door banged loudly. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were buffet style but good. The hotel information said that Jephson Garden was 'a short walk' away but unless we missed a short cut it seemed to be a mile or so - too far for me to walk.
We stayed for 1 evening. Hotel is lovely and clean and staff were very friendly. Room was amazing for the price. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely and really big portions. Breakfast was help yourself and a huge variety. A 10 minute walk in to town and the parks.
The Jephson is located on one of the leafy roads leading to the centre of Leamington Spa. Its a short walk to the shops, Pump Rooms and Jephson Park, so ideal for exploring. The hotel is located in two interconnected, old townhouses, which means the bedrooms are not all one size. My wife and I stayed in Room 6 which has a very large and comfortable double bed, a spotless modern shower room and a window overlooking the back of the hotel and roofs. This is a townhouse so don't expect scenery! Our room was warm, but it was the hottest weekend of the year. There was a large fan which helps, but as yet there is no air con in this room. Meals were served in the dining room (which is air conditioned) and, as we were on a fixed price deal, the three course dinners were fine; although not gourmet. The usual menu offers a more interesting choice. Breakfasts were generous with all the usual full breakfast offerings along with cereals, yoghurt, croissant and fruit juice. The staff were great. Hardworking, helpful, pleasant and professional. They all multi task, so don't be surprised to be served supper by the receptionist! Anthony, the General Manager, is approachable and as hardworking as them all. All in all a good experience and I would happily come back again.
The Jephson is cheap and cheerful, it is a Best Western after all so, do not expect bells and whistles. When in the rooms you can hear a lot of noise from lifts, to people walking past your room and even other rooms showers. The rooms are very warm with no Aircon that I could find. They are clean with tea and coffee making facilities, a large TV and en-suite. The staff however, are great, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice with a buffet style or menu options. Parking is limited but there are only 30 rooms, if the car park wasn't full of coaches there would be ample room. Overall it's an ok place to stay
I chose this hotel because of its location. I was attending an event related to my work. It's just 10-min walk from the center. The staff of the hotel is very nice. Clean room and a good breakfast service.
I can start by saying do not be fooled by the boutique style reception, it looks very plush but that is where it ends. I understand I booked a small double room, but there is small and then there is a box room, please see attached photos of how the tv was put up on that wall and the way the wires all hung down, if this has had a refurbishment it has been done very cheaply and badly. We went to the restaurant which although huge only had one other couple in their , in an apparently fully booked hotel this should have been a warning but we thought give the benefit of the doubt , wish we hadn't my pizza was passable but my partners fish and chips was quite bluntly disgusting, and we had to sit there for around 20 minutes waiting to complain as the waitress kept going AWOL, she did refund the price of the meal and apologise. We then went to bar where we had a drink and chatted to the bar man, who then also went AWOL so we could not get another drink. We left the bar and the bar man and waitress were standing outside the front door, which is always the best place to stand when you have customers! We then went to bed we did not sleep due to the noise of slamming doors, loud tv and the people above seeming to have to stamp there feet every half hour during the night, the night receptionist was the same bar man and he did get the man to turn his tv down, but by this time we were so wound up we were never going to sleep. We were told by the waitress that we should speak to the manager in the morning about the food, we tried to but apparently he was cooking breakfast so we dealt with the receptionist who said she was going to refund us 50% of the bill, so I will check my credit card later this week to see if that has been done. I know that it is not the hotel making the noise, but the walls were so thin and also we were right by reception, so we got the brunt of every noise. The next night we went to a Premier Inn same price, room was 3 times the size of the room at The Jepshon, although far more customers the staff were attentive and did not disappear. We know what to do in future. We can honestly say it felt like we were in Fawlty Towers funny to watch not funny yo be part of.
Stayed at this central hotel for 1 night business stopover. Single room, very small, poorly decorated (painted over sockets etc) and very dated. Patio doors used to divide bedroom and tiny shower room where the only window in the room was located. Room was extremely hot, eventually managed to the turn radiator down and had to sleep with bathroom window open. Could not fill kettle without using a glass as would not fit under the tap and cold water was actually hot and discoloured, so asked reception for some bottled water which was thankfully sourced. Limited menu available and struggled to gain attention of waitress as she was more interested in her mobile phone. When food arrived was warned the plate was hot (which it was), unfortunately the food was hot around the outside and cold in the middle. No chance to ask for it to be warmed as waitress did not return to me, gave breakfast a miss the next morning!
Car parking was very tight and limited spaces, general cleaning could have been better if more attention was paid to detail work. I.E tea coffee sugar tray needed a damp wipe To remove dust and debris, tops of plug sockets with dusty, and the shower doors where Jesse and Hair found.
A great location about 10 min walk from town centre. The room was lovely, pleasantly surprised. Comfy beds and nice bathroom. Good price for what we paid. Reception staff were lovely too. Would recommend if you need somewhere to stay for a night or two.
We held our annual RAFA Christmas lunch at the Jephson for the first time. There were 36 of us, most quite elderly, and we were looked after very well by the staff. The room and tables were set out very nicely, and the meal was excellent- traditional turkey (plenty of it!) well cooked veg, and Christmas pud or panacotta ( delicious!) A few teething problems - no glasses on the tables initially, but it was soon rectified. Everyone who attended was very complimentary and we all had a great time - thank you.
Really comfy HUGE bed in a smart King Room with good shower. Rate was good as it included breakfast. Staff were excellent and helpful if you wanted anything. Self-service breakfast was okay, with cereal, pastries and English cooked breakfast.
The Jephson is a good offering for a three star hotel. It's location for the centre of Leamington was ideal for me. Everywhere I saw was spotlessly clean and I felt guilty bringing in my wheelchair wheels and assistance dog- Who sheds . But the cleanliness made it lovely. The bed was comfortable and the linen excellent quality and probably the best pillows i ‘ve had in a hotel . I stayed in an accessible room with my Assistance Dog and the hotel staff were very helpful . I had been prewarned that the accessible room was approached by a narrow corridor, so I was prepared for that. The room itself had enough room to comfortably negotiate in a wheelchair and with an AD . The best thing about the Jephson are the staff. I particularly want to say the Italian lady who booked my stay, helped me carry things to the car on departure, and could not have been lovelier . Parking in a disabled spot was available. The dining room is not accessible so I chose not to try and navigate it for breakfast and had room service in the evening. The narrow corridor meant used room service trays could not be left outside the room for collection , so one evening I chose to keep my dirty dishes in the room rather than see staff again. The worst thing was the food. It is probably what stops the hotel being four star . Leamington spa has a wealth of eateries to make this not too problematic.
Checked in for a one night stay as a couple. Quick friendly check-in and we were allocated our room at the top of the hotel. The room was clean and compact, however the bed was butt upto the wall on one side and I wasn't prepared to be hemmed in between my husband and wall all night. Husband went to reception and the manager quickly changed our room. The new room was smaller in size, but I would take small over trapped anytime. The new small room.. only one bedside table. So on my side, my bits a bobs were on the floor, no bedside lamp. The bed - sitting on the bed, it felt springy and quite bouncy, lying on it was a different matter something needs replacing or a thick mattress topper - you can feel the springs in your back. Bedding was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and seemed to be relatively new, good shower power, toilet seat didn't quite fit. The room had a fusty smell, as did the first room, possibly from the built in wooden wardrobe. Possibly our worst nights sleep in a hotel. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, both of us had the mini roast chicken dinner. Chicken and veg were nice. However, the roast potatoes we hard and were a poor attempt at cooking and essentially were hard potatoes in fat (not crisped). Sticky Toffee pudding was OK, but could have had a bit longer in the microwave. Breakfast was good, self service, enough choice to meet all needs.
Stayed for 3 night. Staff were all fantastic. Room as clean and tidy a little warm but comfortable and quite. The shower was amazing. Food was lovely. This was are second time staying and we hope to stay agene. we would recommend to friends and family
We had a very good 2 night stay with breakfast. The room was small (as advertised) but had adequate storage and a clean and well decorated shower on-suite. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good for the price. The only negative was the mattress which was lumpy, but that is not uncommon in hotels. We would stay again.
Unfortunately for us this hotel didn't seem to have any identity. It was a plain building but inside it was too ostentatious for the outside. It was fronting itself as a plush boutique hotel yet the rooms didn't reflect that and it where it was boutique style it was almost like they'd veneered over the cracks. For example the dining room was all boutique style but look up at the cover on the aircon unit and it looks 40 years old it's somehow all front with no sustinence. The breakfast as very average with just one person working out the front. It was help yourself buffet style but the bacon I doubt had seen a frying pan grill or oven and the same could be said for the sausage. Unfortunately we had a negative experience checking in which gave a poor impression and although the 2 young girls acted in a suburb way they shouldn't not have had to deal with a very inebriated guest! Overall I did have a reasonable nights sleep but I won't be rushing to rebook sorry.
A very good hotel staff very friendly and helpful only staid one night breakfast was 5 star. The only negative was the car park to small and you have to park on the road which is no good if it is raining which was in our case. But the good points far exceaded the one bad point the car park
We had a family funeral so needed a place to stay, and found the Jephson Hotel very good,we might use it again if we need to, the overall standard was good, we need a ground floor bedroom so our knees will not be subjected to climbing stairs
I was attending a conference in Warwick and was recommended this hotel. The room was comfy and clean. The staff friendly and efficient. The menu and food were very good. I must pay a particular compliment to the young lady on reception who was very helpful and helped me to check in in using the QR code. She was very friendly and recommended some local attractions. So thank you Sasha and the rest of team Jephson Much appreciated
Stayed here for a business trip The welcome was courteous and professional, the room very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent. A special thank you to Sasha who was very thoughtful, kind and very helpful. She gave me great advice about the local area and was always friendly and very bubbly. A real asset to this hotel Thank you
It's a very nice quite and clam place to stay. The hotel is clean and tidy with very good food at the restaurant. The receptionist i.e. Elena was very helpful and friendly. She made our stays hassle-free and guide us about the city and places to see around. I would definitely recommend everyone to try and stay at this hotel.
I stayed at the Jephson a few weeks ago and loved it so much. Then, for an impromptu birthday celebration this last weekend, booked it again. We booked room only and thought we'd walk into town for breakfast. The hotel staff were very welcoming and the room was ok (apart from cobwebs above the window). Anyway we decided to book breakfast after all and paid £8.95 each. When we got to breakfast, we were told to go and find a table, there were no tables ready, we didn't want to use a table of 8 so we asked for a smaller table, so a table for two was duly cleaned and set for us. No one explained that it was all help yourself, including hot drinks. When I went to get my breakfast there was no hot food left, This was some 45 minutes before the end of service so not sure why this happened. After about ten minutes I went to ask Reception staff if any more hot food was coming out, she asked the kitchen staff and after about 5 minutes a little bit of scrambled egg appeared along with a handful of hashbrowns and some bacon. Sausages would be a further ten minutes. I gave up and just had some scrambled eggs on toast. My partner said it was the worst breakfast he'd ever had anyway!! He managed to get some as I ate my cereal. The moral of this story - save yourself some money and walk into town for a decent breakfast. This was a total shambles. I would have complained at the desk on departure but my partner asked me not to.
Clean decor to bar and restaurant areas and reception and hallways. We had a small double perfectly adequate. Coffee and tea, hairdryer, modern shower kitchen. Bar shut at 10 a little early. Cocktail expensive for how it was presented. Breakfast ample and good standard all self service.
Definitely got the impression that the staff are trying hard but started with low expectations and was still disappointed. The location is good. About a 15 minute walk into the lovely town centre. However, the hotel itself is extremely dated and any makeover is painting over the cracks. Sound proofing in the rooms is awful and could hear every word from next door and noise from elsewhere. As it is an old building the insulation is poor so the rooms would be cold but for the fact they have the heating at full blast which means it's actually too hot. Must cost a fortune. Always looked to be dodgy characters hanging around. Would be suspicious of the reviews that say it is five star because, with the best will in the world, it most certainly isn't.
My stay at The Jephson was amazing. The staff were very kind, but special thanks must go to Rejo who works in the diningroom & gave superb service. He chatted to the clients and always had a smile on his face. The Italian lady at reception was lovely and always had a chat every morning.
Very comfortable stay and would stay again. Friendly staff, clean rooms and good food. One evening the restaurant was fully booked but they were happy to serve me a meal to my room which as a solo traveller was great. Plenty of on-site parking.
The hotel was very clean and we felt very welcomed. The bar staff were attentive and helpful. Parking available in hotel grounds and free outside on the road. The location was perfect for our trip, just a short walk into town.
My bedroom was ok shower can't get walm and TV was good but food was ok but the breakfast sausages should be cooked more and my bed was amazing and big and the lap in room 73 don't work and stuff was amazing and friendly and very kind and amazing and
Nice hotel, recently furnished with lovely beds, new carpets and very soft comfy beds with two different pillow firmness types. The USB ports were a life saver. All the staff we met were lovely and the food was delicious. Thank you everyone for your hospitality!
Superb Location lovely hotel friendly staff ,clean comfortable room, normal tea /coffee making facilities in room, parking could have been an issue as limited parking spaces on site although we had no problems .will definitely be booking again. A perfect stay !
An excellent clean Hotel with friendly staff. A little expensive however. The food at breakfast was good and was in a good location for me to see the Commonwealth games at Victoria Park. We were in close proximity to the Town centre.
We stayed overnight at the Jephson and could not have been made to feel more welcome by Elena on the reception desk! She had taken our original booking and was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean and fortunately, as it was the hottest day ever, had a fan! The hotel is within walking distance of Leamington Spa and is ideally situated for exploring the town.
Room looked as though it was last decorated in 1950. No air conditioning and nightime temperature in the room room was in the high 20s (even with window open). There was no fridge so we were unable to cool drinks.
Take no notice of some of the past bad reviews. This hotel has been taken over and has been refurbished. Initially I booked with booking.com but found the hotels website had a better offer including breakfast. Our bed was very comfortable, everything was clean, nice bathroom. No view from our room number 6 but still a lovely comfortable stay. Breakfast was nice. Buffet English breakfast, breads pastries, cereals and drinks. Welcoming polite staff. Free on site parking. It was perfect for us attending our son's graduation at Warwick Uni as it wasnt far from his digs and easy to get to the Uni. In fact perhaps the hotel should keep an eye on university graduation dates and aim some special packages at parents. Thank you for a great stay.
Pretty, boutique hotel, a bit on the pricier side but I stayed for Michael Buble concert so higher price was expected. Good full English breakfast and okay continental choice. Staff brilliant, helped me with finding a cab couldn't get an uber. I'd definitely go back
Location good - short walk to the centre and railway station. Reception area and restaurant very nice, however corridoors were shabby and like a rabbit warren, room was cramped, bed was up against wall, window would not open, blind was broken, breakfast was not good.
A very nice hotel with comfortable rooms, comfortable modern seating in the bar/ lounge, lovely shiny floors in the lobby & dinning room. Very good location for Warwick Castle, British Motor Museum, 3 lovely parks in walking distance, & walking into Leamington spa.
I have been a regular guest since February and it's a great hotel to stay at. Staff are super friendly and any issues they can resolve promptly. It's only a 5 minutes walk to Leamington Spa and close to bus stops towards Warwick.
Expensive for what we got. Noisy wedding function which we weren't told about when we booked and basically told tough luck when we complained. Had to listen to caterwauling until 12pm from the guests on the karaoke machine below. Soundproofing is urgently needed if they are going to hold weddings although judging by the receptionist's response, other guests' comfort is of no importance. On a positive note the bed was very comfortable and the room clean. Toilet seat was broken.
Cons: The walls were visibly damp and stained with paint flaking off. Furniture was damaged and unstable. The door had a large gap at the bottom that let in light from the hallway at night. The door was unable to close on its own, possibly because the frame had swelled from the damp. The floors above creaked very loudly at night. The bed frame was loose and creaky. Pros: The bathroom seemed to have been renovated recently and was quite nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
This really is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Leamington Spa. This was a perfect location for us and the history surrounding the name of the hotel is fascinating. Everything was wonderful. The bar, breakfast in the morning and the room was superb.
Stay here regularly when visiting my elderly mother who resides in a local care home. Hotel is clean and beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is adequate. Good value for money given the central location. Good shower.
Booked a one night stay to break a journey and visit a favorite restaurant close by. Elma for those that are interested. To be fair the hotel came up as one of the cheapest in the area so we ignored the bad reviews and booked it. Easy to find, easy free parking and a clean, professional reception that had us in the room in no time. To be fair the room was small but it had all the facilities we needed for a one night stay and the bed was very comfortable. The en-suite was a good size with a large walk in shower. The buffet breakfast was very tasty, sausages and bacon of a reasonable quality and hats off to the person who made the scrambled eggs, they were great. All in all a good value hotel that we would use again.
We booked with a large group of people for a wedding all the way from Liverpool. On arrival it was apparent we had paid a lot more for the room then they had! And also they had breakfast included. I asked the reception why this was to which she advised they had been offered a better offer then us which included Breakfast! I asked if as we had paid much more would they include breakfast for us as they charge 10£ per person for breakfast. To which they responded with a “the manager has said we are unable to help you” And that was that!! In the end it isn't so bad as all our guests said the breakfast was vile
Thanks to the reception staff who were excellent as we had a free upgrade as the first room was not suitable. The second choice was great. The bathroom had a walk in shower which was wonderful. Easy to use and all facilitates worked. The bed was comfortable. The evening meal was good we both liked it. The breakfast was for me good . My wife has a mushroom allergy and did not have the cooked breakfasts as there may have been cross contamination of the mushrooms from the serving spoons. Only a minor problem. Overall the staff were excellent. Tip park at the rear of the hotel there is a large free car park .
I stayed at the Jephson last week to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday in Leamington spa. We checked -in early and Elena was lovely and really helpful. The room was clean breakfast was delicious. The staff in general was really friendly , we felt at home! x
We stayed here for 4 nights in may 2022. We will not be going back. We had problems from the beginning. No coat hangers No hair dryer Dirty bin and bathroom drawer. Bedding didn't fit Etc etc Too many problems to list really. The best thing about this hotel was Juliet.
Travelled from Kent to visit this area. We where not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are just right. Clean, comfortable bed, clean towels daily. Tea coffee in the rooms. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. Plenty of parking and close to all amenities. Thank you for a lovely few nights stay. We will be back
If you want to be within walking distance of the centre but be within a 5/10 minute walk this is the place for you. Extremely clean, lovely helpful staff. We were given a coffee on arrival as we were early and our room was not quite ready. If you want a car space we would recommend you check in early especially at weekends as the car park is not massive. Having said that there are paying car parks not far away and this would not be a problem for us in thefuture!
Great location in walking distance from the centre of Leamington Spa. My husband and I stayed for a friend's birthday. We were able to walk into the town centre within 5 minutes. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and spacious. Comfortable beds. Breakfast had a hot buffet, pastries, toast and cereal on offer. We particularly liked that during the weekend breakfast was offered between 8am-11am which meant we could have a well deserved lie-in.
The lady on Reception( ELena ) was very Proffesional and polite when i checked in so the first impression was great Elena is great asset for the reception team. Food was good but could do better. Rooms are of decent size. General Manager of the hotel was great he was helping every where. Overall i would recommend the hotel the staff are very pleasant and great service.
The hotel restaurant has a good choice of evening meals which were enjoyable. The hotel is currently being refurbished and our bathroom had newly fitted shower with fresh towels being provided daily. The beds are very comfortable.
We had a nice 3 night break in this hotel. The staff were just great and we were very comfortable. It was nice to leave the car in the car park and to use the bus - there is a nearby stop for both the centre of Leamington and Warwick. At the time of our visit, refurbishment was ongoing and it will be nice to return when the improvements have been made.
Arrived at hotel and received a very warm welcome. Hotel room was lovely so clean and the bed was amazing slept soundly all night. Bathroom spotless and looked as though it was brand new. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful as well as pleasant atmosphere would definitely book here again Well done !
Had a lovely one night stay with husband in beautiful hotel. Beautiful decor and a great comfortable room. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Very close to the town and several landscaped gardens to wander around. Will definitely be staying again.
From the minute we arrived we were greeted with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is easy to find, with ample free parking. Ideally located for access into town (only 10 mins walk away). At the time of our stay the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, which meant that some of the carpets were lined with plastic. However, this didn‘t detract from our overall satisfaction of the hotel or its ambience. Our room was newly refurbished; lovely decor, bathroom was spotless, very spacious room. No complaints at all. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Breakfast was included in our booking, at a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended. I don't understand why it only has 2.5 rating…..
Pros Parking on site Welcoming receptionist Cons Room way too hot and you cannot turn off the radiator Dodgy tiles in bathroom Pathetic shower Our stay was ok, bed comfy BUT not being able to turn the heating down/off made the room stifling. The restaurant had a very dull menu and the soulless. We went out for dinner to a nearby pub which was great and we would recommend going out of the hotel. Got back after our dinner to have a drink - no one serving and no life at all. The reception has been done up very nicely but everything else falls short. We made our comments on check out to the receptionist- she just said oh we always have issues with radiators and all our tiles are wobbly…not a great response. Totally not worth the money but I guess we were paying to be in Leamington Spa rather than a good hotel. We definitely would not book again as I am sure there are much better hotels in the area.
Took a coach party to stay here for four nights. Received a good welcome on arrival, the rooms were clean and comfortable, had a good choice of food, the manager and staff were friendly and very helpful. Car / coach parking on site. Customer service excellent.
Hotel looked Nice on website. Reception is the only nice thing about this hotel. (Tip : No lift with suitcases ). I booked a twin room. It's more like a storage cupboard. No room at all. It feltt like a prission cell, but smaller. You will Have to sit on the small single bed to relax as no room for a small chair. And smelt of urine really bad.not a nice place to relax. Or even to get ready to explore Lemington spar. We Complained to the staff and the manager lied and said its a superior room. And he left the room. So Complaind to Reception. They did Give us a second room that was dirty and dark. The window opened to a drain Pipe and brick wall. Pile of Cigarette butts on window ledge. ( I have photos as proof) dirty dark and dingey. Worst rooms ive ever seen in a hotel. The staff didn't care. One member of staff even said she wouldn't stay there. "It's a dump". No Internet or signal in the room . ( included in the price, piontless if it doesn't work) No cold water in Bath room. Came out luke warm. They Said its high street location.its more like a 25 minutes to walk to town centre. Its that uncomfortable We didn't and couldn't stay here. We left to go to a nicer hotel in Kenilworth.( not the location we wanted but had no choice. No help from staff at all. Just excuses that they were renovating some of the rooms . I was told to call best Western to complain.which I have done. They passed it back to the manager and still waiting on a response. ( i was advised it would be 7 days ) well that's more lies. I should hope for a refund or contribution to the second hotel we had to book in to at last minute or a bestwestern voucher won't get my hopes up. Customer service is shocking.
Clean comfy beds , manager friendly staff lovely quiet street walking distance to town food excellent would recommend staying here I stayed a week and loved it . Rooms airy . The hotel deserves more the 2 stars …it should be 5 . Love Lemington.
Single glazed windows that are cracked and broken looking into other hotel bedrooms and grubby flat roofs. Shower awful. Its connected to the tap. Bath fills up so clearly blocked somewhere. Breakfast undercooked and set up the wrong way round. Cery pokey. Everyone in each others way. Staff to busy chatting to each other.
We stayed for 4 nights in March while attending the Planet Rock Winters End music festival. We knew it's a 3 star hotel when we booked and it's a very good 3 start hotel with a good sized room, comfy bed, tasty breakfast and plenty parking. It was a 15 minute walk to the centre of town. The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We'd happily stay there again.
Nice on website. Reception is the only nice thing about this hotel. No lift with suitcases. Given a twin room. It's more like a storage cupboard. No room at all.It feltt like a prission. And smelt of urine .Complained and the manager lied and said its a superior room. And left. Complaind to Reception. Gave us a room that was dirty and dark. The window opened to a drain Pipe and brick wall. Cigarette butts, dirty dark and dingey. Nasty rooms. The staff didn't care. One even said she wouldn't stay there. It's a dump. No Internet or signal in the room . No cold water. Said high street location. 25 minutes to walk. We didn't stay. We left to go to a nice hotel. No help from staff. I am told to call best Western to complain.I will be emailing. I should hope for a refund or contribution to the second hotel. We will see.
It's ok at best - the reception area looks newly re-decorated but once you get beyond that it is quite rundown. Staff were friendly. Problems in our room (4). Checked in to find the radiator leaking - it was fixed with electrical tape! Light in the bathroom didn't work and wasn't repaired during our stay. Also barely any water came out of the hot water tap - not repaired. The room wasn't especially clean and needed some painting. Single glazed windows let in a lot of noise from the busy road outside. I think the carpet was from the 70s and the rest of the room was modernish - bit mismatched.
Disappointed with the stay, Booked a premium room and it was absolutely tiny. Moved to another room which was bigger and more comfortable. Floor had a huge dip in by the window. In the morning unable to shower as the water pressure went and just dribbled out. Breakfast took ages to come out even though there was only about 5 people in the breakfast room. Disappointing stay.
We had this as a bit a gift gift and booked it as was exploring the area. Two nights booked in their standard room. Travelled through one of the worst storms to get there. Check in was ok as far as these sort of hotels go. Given key to room 1. On opening the door to the room hit by smell of sewage. On entering the box size room smell got stronger the closer to the en-suite. Worse inside there. Didn't look at rest of the tiny room as was not going to be staying there. Back to reception downstairs ( no lift found and partner has MS so made it awkward) you old staff about smell ok room. Given key to room 2 and back up the stairs we go. Opened this one and no smell noticed so good so far, but struggled to get in the room as so small. End of the bed you have about 12 inches then it's the desk. En-suite tony and mouldy and so dated. Sink was cracked and not recent either. Toilet didn't flush properly. Would of looked around a bit more to see if could stand two nights of it but the fire alarm went off so back down the stairs we go again and stand outside in the storm with other guests. Finally told can go back in but decided can not cope with this place. This was meant to be a get away and we both love to explore but this wasn't a good base for us to do that. Checked out and told we could have another night on them in the next couple of months if we wanted. So our two night stay was under a hour. Found a beautiful hotel not too far away. Wroxall abbey hotel. Worth every penny. One of best uk hotels we've stayed at. West western you need to refurb your rooms and get your act together.
Shambolic hotel. Room was a box, stains from previous occupants still on bed sheet, no food as restaurant shut an absolute joke it's a normal requirement of a hotel. Then no hot water or heating should not be allowed to stay open. And during the night doors banging drunk people partying in a room strong smell of weed aswell. Just stay well away
Dreadful hotel, doors banging all night, youths running in corridors and all sorts of people coming in and out of a fire exit door going into a room opposite sounded like a right party going on. Went to ask them to keep it down and was confronted by someone smoking a cannabis joint at the door and told to clear off or else. Rang the night reception no answer at all let it ring for 20 minutes. I don't think there were any staff in the building at all if so they must be a sleep. Mentioned the problem on the way out and was told we have had a few issues that's it. I have reported the hotel to best Western and the local authority. Not fit to be open.
Had an excellent short stay at the hotel. Very clean hotel and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great as it was only a short 10- 15 minute walk into the town. Already booked for another stay.
The room we stayed in was very pokey and grubby. We have stayed in hotels all over the country and never had one so small. the sound of water constantly running throughout the night. Doors were banging and woke us up at 2..am. Cannot understand why when the hotel was not full you would put anyone in that room. The staff were friendly especially the barmaid. a definite nono.
After seeing other reviews I wasn't really excited to stay here but I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was polite and very helpful, they couldn't have done enough for you. My room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable, however it was a little chilly. Receptionist was very helpful and brought me a spare heater. I have booked a superior room. I really enjoyed the dinner, it was tasty and priced reasonably. Breakfast was ok, simple full english and some continental options. Overall I would recommend if you're in the area.
This place is undesirable! Dated, creaking floors, constant sound of water running through the pipes and the food - avoid at all costs!! For a BW hotel this is the worst by far! Toilets are filthy and shower didn't work in my room. I order “The Pie of the Day” and I was unable to cut through this. I broke it apart with my knife and it was charcoaled inside! Glass of coke was flat and tasted like water.
Reception was lovely and the bar but our room was very shabby and didn't have a shower because it was full of mould and it felt quite dirty and the bed was the worst bed I have ever slept on. Definitely needs a good clean and Tudy up
Easy quick check-in. Very poor after flithy room carpet all stained and dirty towels on shower room floor from previous occupant. Drinks very over priced also lager tastes very bad something wrong with it also tried to serve it in a dirty glass all stained disgusting. Bad night's sleep meant to be a double bed not two singles shoved together with a big divide in the middle. Breakfast was very poor and cheap quality did complain waitress shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Pastries were stale and chewy and cooked breakfast was poor but it matches the service we received in the breakfast. I would not stay again ever. Poor hotel and staff for the money
Excellent value for money, within easy walking distance of the town centre We checked in on line before arriving so our keys were ready at the Reception desk. The staff member at the desk was friendly and pleasant. The room was clean although maybe the carpet could be replaced, it looked a little tired! We had a drink in the bar later in the evening, no problems with staffing. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot food or cold if you wished. All in all highly recommended.
Good safe check-in but downhill from there, room was dirty and musty with water stains on the wall and ceiling. The bar looked nice but waited ages for someone to serve me and in the end give up waiting. Finally found a member of staff in the restaurant stood there on her mobile phone did not even acknowledge me just carried on texting on her phone. Menu looked poor as well thank god for uber eats. Noisy night thanks to room across the landing also strong smell of cannibis rang reception no one answers the phone for 20 minutes then when they do they say we will check but the party seemed to go on till 4 in the morning. And to round things off no hot water in the morning, mentioned it to reception was told yes we know. Went for breakfast all pre heated and dried up, no bacon or sausage, or eggs the two waitresses both on there phones not bothered at all. When I ask 'oh yeah it will be out in minutes : and look back at there phones no apology or nothing. The place is a disgrace your staff are unprofessional and rude. I have told my company not to ever use your hotel again.
Step access from both car parks and no assistance with luggage. No lift. Creaky floorboards and steps so sleep disturbances were a problem. The TV remote was a "universal" one so the programme guide was not accessible - channel surfing. The shower was a very tight fit and I'm not a "large person".
We were "deposited at this hotel by GB Tours. The itinerary had stated the Holiday Inn at Leamington. Spa. The entrance and reception looked lovely though we had to carry our luggage down some steps. As it was a birthday celebration we had requested adjacent rooms. As there is no lift we carried our cases up several flights of stairs only to find two of us were on a different floor up another 2 flights of stairs. The room was cols and the thermostat was was resting on the radiator! After complaining they made up a sofa bed in the adjacent room to our friends. The bathroom was nicely refurbished but the toilet seat did not fit the toilet bowl. Both dinner that night and breakfast the next morning was self service and the food was disgusting and tepid. It is not suitable for anyone who has any walking difficulties as there is no lift and there is no wheelchair access. If you want a nice hotel, even if only an overnight stay, find another hotel
Hotel is very close to Leamington town centre and all its amenities, this being the reason for choosing as well as having convenient on site parking. Our room was adequate albeit very dark as blinds could not be drawn back due to in effective mechanism. There was also not hot water for shower bathing or washing. Some bulbs did not work on all lights. Overall a very disappointing stay and will definitely not stay again.
Lovely reception. Helpful and polite staff. Tiny room (#21) but adequately furnished (possible overly so) Bathroom; tiny (rounded) corner-shower cubicle. Breakfast very nice with plenty of hot or cold food (buffet). Good parking. Never tried the wi-fi.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The lobby is stunning and the rooms are well decorated. The bathrooms are beautiful. Breakfast was a real let down though. Items not replenished including the bread and bacon.
Good welcome at reception room OK. Problem no hot water this was sorted by barman/shift manager moved to another room straight away. Good choice of beers and wines served by the shft manager /barman good local knowledge and got a taxi sorted for us as well. Breakfast was OK lukewarm at best. Would stay again
Posh reception area unfortunately downhill straight away strange smell almost musty/poor hygiene in that area. Room was awful window backed onto a dark alley way at the back of the kitchen it so smelt awful. In the corridor outside it smelt of cannabis strongly with people coming in and out of the fire exit door. No restaurant in the evening but on website says is available. Went into the bar and the girl on the bar seemed incapable of pouring a pint it resembled a glass of froth or no head on the pint at all. Asked to speak to the manager and was informed by the girl on reception that he doesn't work weekends any issues will be passed on to him on Monday. Hilarious if the manager can't be bothered at weekends says it all. Avoid at all costs a tent in a field would be better
The smell in and outside of the room was unpleasant. The single room was dark and dingy and the radiator did not work. There was damp on the walls in the room and mould on the ceiling and floor in the bathroom. There was no mirror in the bathroom either and neither the towels nor milk/ coffee were replenished during my stay. The staff were pleasant and the hotel is handily located for a short walk into Leamington Spa.
Great place to stay and near to many historic places and things to do and see. Fabulous breakfast at a leisurely pace and excellent service by friendly staff. Access to to property is either down stairs from the rear car park and reception, or up a flight from the front there is no lift to upper floors and restaurant. People with mobility issues are catered for with provision of a ramp from the rear car park, to reception and lower ground floor bedrooms, I suggest contacting the hotel to check if access needs can be met.
Great location walking distance to L Spa, shops and lots of great places to eat . Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. Having car parking was a bonus . Would go there again . Visiting Warwick and Stoneleigh showground was easy from the hotel
Easy to get to and loads of parking spaces, so I was immediately pleased. Check in was a bit of a pain, as my phone doesn't get on with QR codes, but after quickly checking in the old fashioned way I was soon in my room, which was clean, tidy and spacious. The bed wasn't the best admittedly, but the bathroom was fine with a decent shower. Oh, and other hotels please take note, you can do proper scrambled eggs in the same time it takes to do those disgusting microwave ones that too many of you send out to customers. Definitely recommended.
Needs more investment and major tlc. Rooms very basic, small and lacking in everything. Had a bad nights sleep, felt every spring and had major roll together, bedding smelt chemically? Looks like things have been tarted up very badly by people not in the trades. Breakfast a farce, waited ages for hot food, came sporadically and was very poor quality. Shame, could be a very profitable boutique hotel in the right hands.
The staff were lovely and over worked because of poor staffing. I had to email prior to going and ask for an iron! The room was very small poorly laid out and the furniture was tatty and didn't match. The window faced a wall so the room was dark. We tried to get a different room as this one wasn't good for me as it smelt dusty, no lamp on my side of the bed, the carpet was stained, no grip rails in the bathroom, the sink looked like it was falling apart and was dirty, the taps dripped all night and had black dirt around one of them, shower was awful and the rail holding it was old with parts missing, the heated towel rail didn't work and was rusty. No cleaning was done in the three days we were there. Even the cups weren't changed. No fridge, no fire extinguisher, faulty smoke alarm flashing all night and the first night one of the lights in the ceiling was on low. No information regarding fires and where to go. The bar was closed the first night, Sunday, and the restaurant closed for the two nights we stayed there! Breakfast was basic and the yogurt was kept in a glass bowl open not in containers. The English breakfast was ok though and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, we asked to move when we arrived but was told they would check with a manager but we felt bad as everyone was complaining and the receptionist said she was new to the job. So we said we'd stay in the room but looked elsewhere but everywhere was full. We asked for the smoke alarm, light and dripping tap to be fixed but only the light seemed to be sorted out. I wrote an email to complain but my reply was ‘sorry your stay wasn't perfect!' No offer of recompense for the lack of services and giving a wrong impression as to the standard of this dump. The so called refurb that they claim has been done only seems to apply to the foyer the bedrooms are very poor decorated, plaster is falling off the walls, carpets are old. The bathrooms have dirty grout, old grubby shower curtains, old taps, chipped baths. This has got to be the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. You'd get better accommodation in a Premier inn or Travel lodge for half the price. It's a great shame as the staff are very amicable. The manager did say he's taken onboard my suggestions though but really?
I asked for a room which would be suitable for my disabled husband. The room was tiny but clean - down long corridors and included 5 steps. How he would have got up those if he was in a wheelchair, I dont know. The bed was pushed up in a corner, which meant I had to either climb over my husband or shuffle off the end of the bed. The bathroom door didnt close properly. The decorating was shoddy and the TV continually broke up. The staff are pleasant but surely the management must have realised this room was hardly suitable (I overheard the receptionist asking the manager if "one of the ground floor rooms would be ok". The cooked breakfast was plentiful but only the cheapest ingredients had been used (but at £5 what can you expect). We didnt report any of this as to be honest we were tired after a long journey and the thought of changing rooms and just the hassle was too much. We wont be returning.
Lovely hotel with great staff. The staff were all very friendly and helpful making us feel welcome. They are very versitile in the roles nothing was too much for them. The hotel was very clean and tidy. There is a 10 to 15 min walk to the town but it was flat. Also there is a walkway along the fiver.
We spent four days at this delightful hotel, in the company of a young staff who made it their purpose to make our stay a good one. Service was good, as was the food. Set at short walk from the town centre made it a good point to visit the parks and gardens. The station was a 20 minute walk, and Warwick was only 4 minutes up the line with Banbury 17 minutes the other way, so we got around.
I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised! The foyer is welcoming but does imply the hotel is slightly more fancy than it is. It seems some areas have had a refurb. I stayed in room 18 which was lovely and spacious, also out the way of other rooms (only one room below and none on any sides) so felt very quiet. Good amenities and comfortable big bed. Rooms are dated but it was clean and had everything you need for a few nights. Bathroom however does need some attention. Very dated, shaver socket only works when the light (and fan) is on so couldn't charge my toothbrush over night without the noise. Cracked tiled and a build up of scale on the shower. However nice toiletries provided. Use the rear car park if possible as the front is a nightmare. Good location and plenty of parking though.
The hotel has an ideal location, but the room was supposed to be an executive double. A double bed pushed against a wall/radiator, resultingh in climbing over my wife or down the bed, everytime I turn over I kicked the wall or kneed the radiator. No milk for drinks, menu was very limiting. I'm recovering from a stroke, and this was not a relaxing stay Shower cubicle was also very small
Had a two night stay , hotel is nicely located with just a short walk into town. Reception and bar area are nice and rooms are clean but basic with no towels changed on our two night stay. Breakfast was nice but the same every day. But the fish & chips served in the evening were possibly the worst I have ever seen served . Fortunately the staff were very apologetic and gave us a full refund but unfortunately that tarnished a very pleasant weekend.
Reception area, gave me a false expectation of what was to come... Room was, acceptable, Bathroom/shower, cracked tiles on the floor, shower cubicle, no tray for bathroom accessories, so i had to lean out to get the, fortunately the door wouldn't close anyway, so that WAS a bonusm tho you would need to be of a slim frame to use the shower, mif you take my drift. Finally the Loo handle was loose and the loo itself would be uncomfortable for a person of a large disposition
No room information or food information ,WiFi very weak had window open due to no Aircon could hear noise from other rooms sent a link to read room information which would not open not upto best western standards we have received before
Room 9 - Room small hot stuffy, as soon as you open the door the bed is right in front of you and you can't walk into the room. What space there is is taken up by furniture. No blinds on windows only draw curtains so you have to keep them closed as the room is overlooked by other windows. No temperature control on shower, water scalding hot and burnt my foot - not acknowledged by reception staff. . Breakfast on first morning was inedible, burnt scrambled eggs, mushrooms were tinned and had black bits on them (could well have been dropped on the floor) and was barely warm. Couldn't eat it! Second night I was moved into room 19, shower better as temperature control worked but still no blinds on window (room was road facing), again hot and stuffy and too much furniture, had to rearrange it to be able to mover around the room. TV remote didn't work and hair dryer plug was jammed down the back of the draw. Breakfast was an even worse experience than the first morning. Once again burn scrambled egg, and all other items on offer were lukewarm. Assuming only a cook is employed as no chef would serve up that type of food or wear a napkin on his head as a bandana/head covering with his relatively long hair free flowing. Never stay here again and have told colleagues of my experience and told them never to stay here
Not good value at all we all stayed in King rooms and were below average at best, I'd hate to think what a standard room was like. Small, no view, uncomfortable, dated, grubby. Breakfast was a joke, was cold, they lost our order and it was just awful anyway. No direction from management and people running around like headless chickens. We went in the bar of an evening and guest had bare feet up on the tables and it was disgusting, the staff never said a word. Plenty of better places to stay, never again
Absolutely no idea at all breakfast was appalling tepid at best. Shower was very dangerous loose tiles around it and water spilled over the sides. Some staff trying there best others just not bothered at all. Having a night porter shouting to guests down a corridor in a drunken voice night does not fill you with confidence if you should need them in an emergency. Hire proper staff who care not ones who think it's OK to be drinking and shouting in the early hours. AVOID
I was in room 9 the first night, tiny, stuffy and extremely hot. Only heavy curtains on the windows so had to keep them closed as there were other windows that overlooked my room so not having any privacy. Shower is a danger/hazard as it has no temperature control, it was scalding hot and burnt my foot. Had to wash my hair in the sink and stand and have a wash in the sink. Told reception but it wasn't acknowledged. Noise from doors slamming and showers in other rooms started at 05:40 so no chance of any decent sleep, Breakfast was another bad experience, I asked for scrambled egg, mushrooms and sausage. The scrambled egg was inedible, burnt didn't resemble scramble egg, the mushrooms are tinned and had black bits on them. Couldn't eat it! The second night I asked to be moved into another room, which was room 19, again small, stuffy and extremely hot. Only heavy curtains on the windows so had to keep them closed as with the light on, a number of moths were coming in plus, room 19 is road facing. The shower temperature was better but the water was so slow, plain glass in the window but thankfully not overlooked. Breakfast was again an awful experience, water spill on the floor and I slipped on it and had to tell a member of staff to clean it up. Burnt scrambled egg on offer again, I told the cook (no way is he a chef with a napkin on his head) he shouldn't be serving that because it's burnt and tastes of nothing, fell on deaf ears. I asked for a hash brown, beans (had to ask for more than literally a spoonful) and a slice of bacon. All of it was barely warm and bacon was just shown the pan/grill. Awful experience and will never stay here again and have told colleagues not to either!
Parking good. Location not too bad. We stayed in room 58. General noise levels too high. Flushing toilets, fans and creaking floor boards were an issue. Room too small and warm. Window would not stay open to let air in. Bed was uncomfortable and your head was lower than your feet due to the sloping floorBreakfast average. Warmers did not keep the food hot. Sausage was very poor quality. Staff pleasant and helpful except the night porter who was shouting Good Night to the drunken guests who tried to get in our room at 2am. Complaint lodged but the staff can't control the "Quality" of the guests. I will not be returning based on this experience.
I liked the look of the Hotel as it looked like a boutique hotel and it didn't disappoint. Reception area lovely, we had room 2 quite small but comfortable, our room could do with some tlc, it was clean, but using the toilet you could give yourself concussion when standing as it was very close to the wall luckily, were both under 5.4" on using the shower my friend thought it was wet room as it came out of the shower all over the floor, but staff were great from start to finish, at breakfast the breakfast chef came over and asked was our breakfast ok as we both like our bacon well done, i have to say it was on of the best cooked breakfast i've had, poached eggs as well. Staff gave us directions, printed of maps and called us a taxi the next day they were all very delightful thank you x
Room was dirty on arrival . Wiped window sill with a wipe it was filthy . Considering coronvirues not acceptable . My colleague found a mascara on his floor on arrival rooms not being cleaned properly . No resturant open first night . 1 person behind bar . Then shut bar the second night . Breakfast awful no eggs apart from scrambled. Awful place would never return . Faulty towers springs to mind .
We stayed here before visiting Warwick Castle which is a 10 min drive away. Hotel was well presented. A lovely lady, Maggie was on reception and also acted as bar tender. Our room was bigger than we expected, the bed was huge. Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Didn't offer a vegetarian option to a full English nor did they really cater for gluten free (apart from the bread). But overall we enjoyed our stay here
The hotel was spotlessly clean beds are amazing comfortable and so big had the best nights sleep looking forward to going there again Staff were very helpful and friendly Bathroom consists of a large shower and was beautiful Near to town centre and only a 5 minute drive to Warwick
We stayed here as a midway point to meet family and catch up. The hotel appears fairly clean and modern, upon closer inspection though, everything is very dated and worn in need of a full refurb or at least a good lick of paint and a deep clean. Upon waking one of our party discovered what appeared to be mouse or rat droppings on her bed sheets and the floor didn't appear to have been hoovered as there were dead spiders in the corner. When mentioning this to reception, no apology was actually given just a lot of excuses. Sorry goes a long way. Breakfast left much to be desired! The cooked breakfast consisted of one sausage, one hash brown, very over cooked bacon, flavourless scrambled egg, beans in a ‘GU pudding' pot not a ramekin and a minimal amount of mushrooms. Coffee also came out in paper cups. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the price we paid.
Stayed at The Jephson for 2 nights for my birthday get away, the price is great for the hotel. Well decorated and furnished throughout, and very clean, although dated in some areas. I would say the front of the building needs an update. Staff were friendly, breakfast was great - and only £5 (although we weren't a actual asked what we wanted to eat, a English breakfast just arrive to our table). Would visit again.
My boyfriend & I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights to celebrate our anniversary. We went during COVID & since the hotel weren't particularly busy they upgraded our room for free to an Executive Suite. The stay was very pleasant. The room was clean, tidy & modern. There was free coffee/tea facilities with a kettle & the ensuite has a good & powerful shower. There was also complimentary shampoo, shower gel & soap. The hotel was a 10 min walk into the town centre. There was plenty of high street shops and restaurants. Especially in Regent Court and the small shopping called Royal Priors. My boyfriend & I decided to extend our stay by a day since we were having a good time & they gave us a good deal to stay in the same room. Even though we had to switch room because they were having people in to fix the boiler, there isn't anything to complain about. They even let us borrow a extension cable to us our fire stick to watch Netflix. I really can't understand why there are so many bad reviews. I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel.
We stayed in this hotel for a weekend in September. It's really well located, not far from Leamington town centre. I booked an executive room, looked like it was very recently renovated. Room was good in size and really clean. Unfortunately due to COVID housekeeping staff couldn't enter the room to clean it but on Saturday morning we called reception and they brought fresh towels and refreshments to us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for us. Very good COVID restrictions in place and plenty of hand sanitisers all around. Breakfast packed in a bag to go, I can't say a bad word about it, everything was fresh and tasty. I'd recommend Jephson to anyone, lovely place to stay at.
