Returned once again to the Best Western Ullesthorpe No change in excellent service and facilities Golf course delightful Room modern and very comfortable Food excellent Service from staff superb Hopefully will be back
Just returned from a golf break at ullesthorpe. The hotel in general was very good clean rooms and all areas very tidy, the staff helpful and all with a smile. The food was a little to artyfarty when ham egg chips or pasta would have suited our party, bar prices are high so we went to the local pub which had a great atmosphere. The course was in good nick but the greens with the extreme slopes are very difficult and we had two 5 hour rounds which is a bit to long. And a final thanks to the maintenance man (sorry but did not get his name)who repaired my glasses.
A group of 12 golfers visited this Hotel and golf course for a night with DBB and 2 rounds of golf. The receptionists were very efficient and gave instructions as to where our rooms were situated. There was very good Bars and seating with various choices of Bar food. Dinner in the main restaurant was reasonable but my choice of Lamb along with others did not like it as was shredded into a mound and no veg. Chicken and other courses for main meal was ok according to others that did not have the Lamb. Cheese an biscuits was a excellent along with other sweet choices. The Hotel and rooms were quite clean and presentable and also plenty of car parking. The golf course was brilliantly laid out but because of the very hot summer the Fairways were quite brown but Greens were ok. Although it was a long drive from were live I would visit again in the future. I will say it is a bit in the sticks so to speak but Sat Nav will find the Hotel.
This was the first time that we had stayed here and we were using it as a convenient stop on our way home from the north. We were upgraded to an executive room without charge which was appreciated. The room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The light in the bathroom, though, did not pass the "can see to shave test" that my husband uses to judge! All the staff we interacted with were friendly, polite and efficient. The menu in the restaurant was limited but the food was good. Many of the other guests were golfers and they seemed as if it was not the first time that they had used the facilities. For travel the hotel was very conveniently situated near the A5.
I haven't stayed at Ullesthorpe Court for several months, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming and although I had booked an executive room I was very surprised to find that I had been given a suite when I entered the room. As to be expected is was very spacious and I had a choice of places for my laptop to work. I went for dinner and chose the soup and rump steak. The soup was very tasty but I forgot to order a sauce with the steak, the waitress apologised as she said she should have asked, nevertheless the kitchen soon made up a Diane sauce, service was very good and not intrusive. The water in the bathroom was not overly hot, I would have preferred it hotter. The bed was very comfortable and it was a shame to have to get out in the morning. A good selection at breakfast and friendly service. All in all a good stay and I wished it had been longer than one night.
We held a birthday party for my mum in one of the rooms it was a very special day for her as it was her 90th and wanted everything to go just right for her, but we were very disappointed with the service and although the food was good. there didn't seem to be much of a selection and it was whisked away without anyone asking if we had finished, my mother had asked for a welcome drink on entry, but again it was just left on the table, no one seemed to know what they were doing. I just felt that we were all left to it. It cost my mother a lot of money and think she expected a much better service than that. I honestly do not think that she had value for money and I am most surprised by this has we have held numerous parties before and have had no problem what so ever.
Great weekend at this course and hotel. Great food, good course, friendly staff, clean and tidy. Hopefully we will be back! The course is well kept and not too difficult, pro shop a bit small, but hey, no problem. Sky sports in the bar, gym, pool, sauna, steam room, its all there.
We booked thinking this would be a nice quiet hotel, unfortunately for myself and my elderly mother our room backed out onto the function room. It's now 00.38 and there is a wedding party still going on, the carp music we can put up with, but the emptying of bottles from the bar in the bin is now really getting on nerves. I must also add that on Friday evening after a long car journey we opted to eat in the hotel bar. Both of our roasts of the day were Luke warm and my hot drink was cold. Saturday morning I went to use the shower and it wouldn't work. To be fair when we told reception they did come look at it straight away. Saturday at 5.30 pm we came back to our room to find we where locked out. Again reception sorted it straight away but when your booked in for 2 nights you expect to be able to get in.
We stayed here for a long weekend in the beginning of August. On arrival reception staff very friendly as was all the staff. The hotel is a little bit out in the sticks but us set in a lovely location. Room was spotless meals we had was tip top. Overall appearance is second to none. If your think of staying in the area this hotel is definitely worth a look. Great relaxing weekend will definitely be returning
A great location in Ullesthorpe with a golf course and leisure facilities. Friendly welcome on first entering the establishment and this same welcome continued throughout the day. Helpful staff in the gym, pool ares and spa treatments. Great food and beverages. Certainly worth a visit.
We booked this hotel as from the description we thought this was in the middle of no-where which would have great views and we would be able to have dinner and evening drinks looking out over the countryside. Sadly this hotel has not really made anything of the views. The comfortable lounge area is in between the reception and the bedrooms in an area with no windows and the only bar which seems to have a view is the golfers bar which looked unwelcoming to anyone not a golfer. In addition there were obviously a lot of people staying at the hotel on a room and dinner deal as we could not get a table in either of the two restaurants which was an additional added blow as being so far out in the country there wasn't a great deal of other places to eat so we ended up in the bar where the food was nice but not exactly the lovely evening we had hoped for. The breakfast in the morning was nice as expected and the staff were all very nice and the room clean with all the usual provisions, but it is very obviously not a hotel to come to unless you are a golfer.
Wonderful evening Gimme Gimme Gimme - murder mystery comedy with ABBA Overtones and a delicious 3 course meal. This was followed by bed & breakfast - very comfortable room and good breakfast. A delight to have a fried egg again, instead of scrambled egg!! Good staff, facilities (pool etc.) and hotel. Highly recommend it!
Had a very disappointing experience here food was not very nice over cooked and when asked for replacement lunch it arrived with a hair . Was put off the staff attitude Will not recommend it, and will not return
Good venue for a golf weekend, the course is relatively short but still interesting and allows golfers of differing abilities to enjoy. Club and outside tables very comfortable and. Good place to discuss the merits or otherwise of your round. We found the staff very curtious and friendly. Rooms clean just a little warm for me personally. Being a big group we had a party food menu, limited choice but what came was very acceptable. Overall this is a good golf break venue that I would recommend and good value for money.
Had a very enjoyable leisure spa day yesterday at Ullesthorpe Court Hotel & Spa with 3 girlfriends. Our 2nd time in a few months and my 6th in 18 months. Sarah and all the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We had a delicious non alcoholic mojito and chocolate dipped strawberries on arrival, later a delicious afternoon tea ???? enjoyable beauty treatments and a few glasses of prosecco ???? Can highly recommend and really good value too ??
Stayed in This hotel with family for a wedding. Lovely staff very friendly , although bar staff z little slow and mixed some evening meals up on the Friday . Bedroom was lovely. Bed very comfy however the room was a bit hot at night . Breakfast was ok Egg could have been better . Facilities were nice as was the view while outside the bar area . Overall a nice experience not a bad price .
Staff were very professional efficient & friendly. The breakfast was delightful. We had a superior double & while the Room was clean & comfortable With a Bathroom with a shower & bath facilities., it didn't feel exceptional & the bar prices were a little bit high. But overall, a pleasant stay.
A real gem in beautiful country side, Several cities are easily accessible by car. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable bar and terrace area. The pool and spa were relaxing and during our visit we had them almost to ourselves. Treatment available at competitive prices. Food good, sensible menu with varied choices at reasonable prices. Reception and spa staff went the extra mile to make our stay so enjoyable. Thank you to all. We will return when the opportunity arises.
We chose this hotel as it was a half way meeting point for us to meet some friends from down south. We arrived just before midday with check in not officially until 1500hrs but reception said that we could use the leisure facilities if we wanted until our rooms were ready. There is a nice pool and Jacuzzi plus a sauna and steam room which was a nice way to relax after our long journey down. There is also an excellent and well equipped gym upstairs for those who prefer a more physical workout. The rooms are luxurious and of good standard. Whilst we were staying there were two weddings using the facilities which took over the bar area and a lot of the hotel facilities, however, the staff were absolutely fantastic ensuring that we never felt that we were being ignored or pushed out of the way. In fact I would go so far as to say that the staff were the best we have ever come across when staying in hotels around the country, friendly, courteous and always prepared to go the extra mile to help us with the smallest request. A lovely hotel with the best staff and somewhere we will definitely be staying again should we be in the area
This hotel was chosen as our venue for our annual family gathering. The rates for rooms were very reasonable a good standard. We booked a suite and it was fabulous. Could not fault it. They had leisure facilities that we used, these were also very good. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday which was not the best. Very limited menu . Luckily the food on the Saturday night when we all got together was a lot better. The only thing that let them down was that the bottled beer in the fridges were warm. On the Saturday night they only put the fridge on 2 hours before we used the function room. Outside temp was 30 degrees.
The Hotel is friendly, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is self service but with a wonderful choice. We have stayed here a few times and it is always brilliant. There is a golf course and spa for people who want to use these facilities
Played in a golf club match course in good condition considering how dry weather has been the first two holes are new and a delight to play all greens very interesting we had a meal afterwards which was very good the pro shop well stocked with quality equipment would definitely play this course again
Took very elderly lady for lunch with my wife. The service was excellent as was the food Particular thanks to Sharon who was brilliant. Plenty of free parking in beautiful suroundings. Very nice building/hotel side looked great. Everything to a very high standard, very nicely decorated Mike Taylor
I got married here two weeks ago. It was brilliant, the staff were amazing, the hotel looked incredible. It was just a brilliant experience. The weather was gorgeous so we could take advantage of the beautiful gardens and having a beer on the decking. The Bridal Suite was amazing. Such a lovely room and the bath tube is like a plunge pool so deep. Also there is a nice sized swimming pool and leisure centre. If you play golf there is a nice course out back and pub to go with. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Thanks To All at Ullesthorpe Court.
We held a corporate golf day at Ullesthorpe on Friday 15th June. The service we received was faultless, both at the golf club and the hotel. The staff were all very accommodating, in particular David at the golf club and Sara on reception; they couldn't have done more to make our experience more enjoyable. The rooms had everything you could possible need. The golf course was beautiful and the gardens stunning. I highly recommended this hotel and would definitely stay again.
On arriving at the hotel it was very pleasant and relaxed. This hotel is in a very nice place and is perfect for romantic getaways or a nice golfing trip. All staff were lovely . However I arranged a business meeting dinner at the hotel and the restaurant is the cause of an average rating. The staff have all been great. I ordered the Poached Chicken with coconut and spiced potato salad ! Sounds amazing on arrival it looked a bit dull and o taste was like eating cold vomit. My client was not overly impressed with her starter. For main I ordered Pork Belly Jambalaya. Sounds amazing and when paying hotel prices you expect it to fall off the bone and be incredibly tasty. The Pork came out over cooked and on a bed of overpowering tomato salsa with prawns and burn sweet potato chips. it was absolutely rank and I went to bed hungry. Would return to the hotel but I will not be eating here again.
Stayed for one night whilst on a training course locally. Wish I could have stayed for longer!!! What a beautiful hotel and location. Gym facilities and pool etc were amazing, it made for such a relaxing environment. Staff super friendly and polite, very homely feel to the place. Rooms warm and spotlessly clean, beds comfy. Bar and restaurant were spot on and the outside seating area was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful, and very tasty. I would definitely visit again. Nicest place I've stayed in a long time!
Spent 3 nights at this hotel as part of a group of 14. Best Western's standards can be variable but the Ullesthorpe Court is a fine example of the brand. The unanimous view was that it was welcoming and good value. The location is rather remote (a car is essential) but set in pretty countryside. Our rooms were comfortable and quiet, food not exciting but acceptable, staff friendly and helpful. It passed the key test ...... would you visit again? A resounding yes.
Spent a night here while visiting nearby Armourgeddon. Decent value hotel. The standard room was fine, with tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries. It was comfortable and clean. The location is right in the countryside, really pretty though if you want shops or a choice of restaurants you'll have to travel. There was a nice outside decking area which was perfect for summer evening drinks. Also appreciated being able to go for a swim and use the jacuzzi which was a bonus. The only negative for me was that the bed had the hardest and most uncomfortable pillows ever, but that's the only negative. Overall it was a good value hotel.
Full marks to the chef/s on the food, which was excellent but we would not visit again due to the poor service. Table for 4, we arrived on time and were offered a choice of tables, which was nice. The restaurant was fairly quiet with a large table and one other couple. We were left sat at the table for over 10 minutes without being offered a drink, menus or anything. We asked for drinks when a member of staff came by after visiting the other table. A young man, very smart and very polite, came to bring menus and ask what drinks we wanted, we assume it was his first night but he did not say this. When asked the soup of the day was, he did not know, when asked what cask ales they had, he did not know, however he did ask if we wanted him to go and find out? He brought our bottle of wine and just put it on the table without opening or asking if we wanted to try it. When the 2 men got their beers the unwanted wine glasses were left on the table. When the starters arrived the waitress did not take the bread/olive plates away, we had to ask that she take them. 2 of us got the wrong starter, though this was quickly rectified. At no point were we asked if the food was OK. At no point were we asked if we would like more drinks. Quite some time after we had finished our meal we got up to leave and had to go and find staff to give us the bill, they were chatting in a corridor. Whilst paying the bill we were still not asked if we had had a good meal. We really enjoyed the food, good portions, good presentation and tasty but, sorry, we expect better service than that. Owners/managers, what additional revenue are you missing out on when your staff don't even try to get customers to have another drink and as for not even telling your waiting staff what the soup of the day is - I have never come across this before. The saving grace was the duty Manager, Paul, who was very engaging and helpful, showing us the function suites which we will be attending later in the year for a family wedding. Your restaurant staff would do well to have some training with Paul.
Having spent an exciting, but tiring day wedding ring shopping in Birmingham; my fiance and I had booked one night at this hotel to celebrate and relax. On arrival, we met the lovely receptionist Sara who decided that she could do better than the room we were allocated and gave us an upgrade! What a great start to the stay! We hope you enjoyed your Pinot later, Sara! Having settled in we visited the bar and outside decking area. Drinking wine and snacking on Whitebait and sweet potato fries whilst gazing out at the countryside - divine. The swimming pool and spa assisted us in the general direction of complete relaxation. The sauna and steam rooms were the perfect level of hot - the jacuzzi, large and comfortably warm and the icy towels a refreshing touch. We really wanted to get up early the next day and try out the gym, but it turns out we relaxed too well, a combination of fine gin, and the comfortable bed meant that an early start was not going to happen! All in all, a wonderful stay - we are most definitely coming back here - maybe next year when we celebrate our first anniversary!
There's not much choice of hotels in the area and this is probably the best in the Lutterworth area. All the staff are lovely, breakfast is good, plenty of parking. Limited bar area on an evening because it's setup for breakfast in the morning, however on a warm summer night it would be ok because there's an outside seating area. Breakfast is good. The hotel itself and the rooms are in a desperate need for renovation, I've stayed in much nicer Best Western hotels for the price I paid so I'm not sure why it's a ‘plus' but there is a nice leisure club with a pool and the location and grounds are lovely. Shampoo, shower gel, soap, body moisturiser are included in the bathroom. Hairdryers are also available in every room.
I visited Best Western Ullesthorpe Court hotel yesterday. What a gem of a hotel spacious rooms, friendly staff, large gym with swimming pool, and breath taking views overlooking the garden and the golf course. I will definitely be returning
Four of us enjoyed an excellent 2 night, 3 rounds of golf break. The course is a challenge to all golfers no matter what their handicap. The course was in very good condition and green staff were working on the course every day. The hotel was very clean throughout and the bedroom was large enough with the usual facilities provided. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. There is a good choice of food and drinks in either the hotel bar or the bar near the golfing facilities and the prices were very reasonable. The two breakfasts and evening meals we had could not be faulted. Overall an excellent golf package which is definitely recommended. We intend to return in the future.
We came to the hotel as guests at a wedding, so weren't there for long, however our experience was very positive. Despite check in usually being afternoon, we arrived early and a lot of guests rooms were available ahead of schedule so were allowed in early which was great in terms of being able to check in and get ready. The rooms were spacious and clean, and quiet overnight which is always a bonus - lots of hotels are quite noisy but we didn't find this here. The bed in our room was large and comfortable. We opted for breakfast in the morning, and the selection of food was good for what I would consider to be a very reasonably priced hotel. It was all fresh and piping hot (unusual for a buffet!) and very tasty. If I were in this direction again I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.
I stayed one night on business, nearest I could find for Magna Park just outside Lutterworth. The setting is really very nice. From my room I had a view across fields and a bit off the golf course. Noobody actually playing golf, but I arrived fairly late. I ate my evening meal in the bar. Travelling alone I thought the main restaurant was a bit too formal and rather expensive for the passing business traveller travelling alone.
Me and my partner at the time went and we had a fantastic time, the spa treatments, facilities and food were lovely, the service and dining experience over all was amazing, quite expensive but worth it. Will defiantly be returning!
We arrived at 10am to be greeted by the lovely Sara who was very welcoming explained everything nothing was too much trouble. There was 7 of us in our party we had the spring cream tea package it was lovely and well worth the money. We all had treatments by 2 lovely ladies and ALL of us said we would do it again ??
We stayed here whilst on a little road trip, lovely hotel, food is good, room a little warm as April was having a little heat wave and there is no air conditioning, but otherwise room was lovely as well as spacious, gorgeous views, the staff are great, very friendly and helpful, especially Sara on reception, it nice to see a receptionist with a fun and bubbly personality for a change as opposed to the often usual robotic personalities, made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to ensure we had a pleasant stay :-))
My partner myself and a few friends stayed here after attending a wedding at the nearby Shearsby Bath. We couldn't check in for our room at a good time as the wedding was on the day of check in. So my partner called the hotel and explained and they were more than accommodating for us to check in later. The man who checked us in was very pleasant and gave us clear instructions to find our rooms. The room was very clean and tidy, lots of info books on the area and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was lovely, great shower curtain design! And toiletries provided. The only snag was we had twin beds, but as we checked in late we were tired and just accepted the bed situation. They were very comfy beds and we had a good sleep. On checking out I mentioned to the receptionist about the twin beds and she was apologetic, there was a man there with her too I'm assuming he was the manager. He explained it was booked as a twin room via the booking agent we used. (That's another story) however he too was very apologetic and advised to book direct next time which we will! As a gesture of good will he gave us complementary coffee in the bar and as we had missed breakfast (our fault) he also gave us toast and fruit juice. We found this extremely generous of him as the fault lay with the booking agent and not this hotel but he still went out of his way to make us happy and we are very grateful of this. We visit the area frequently to see family and would definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends and family to do so too. Unfortunately as we only had a very short stay we didn't get to experience the spa facilities but there is always next time.
Had a problem with the bathroom in my room, shower stopped working before I was about to leave to go to work - great. I was allowed to use another room down the corridor, having to pass other guests in my dressing gown. I asked staff (as there could of been a possibility of a plumber or a contractor coming into the room whilst I'm not there) could I move my things into the room I was allowed to shower in, they said yes so problem - not knowing at this point that the room was an upgrade. I had a lot of expensive / personal belongings in the room that I didn't want to be on show in case people would be coming and going. I had a phone call whilst I was at work to move my stuff out of the room and back into my old room as I hadn't paid the extra for the nicer room and it was booked out. Either I had to leave my course to move my belongings or they would move them, unfortunately they couldn't see the issue with me not wanting strangers handling my personal belongings (as much as I tried to explain this) and so I queried with them if they broke anything would they take responsibility, they said no and they had 7 years of ‘non accidental luggage removals'. At one point the maintenance manager said “that's not my fault”, I had to explain that it wasn't personally his fault but he is representing the hotel and they should hold responsibility for faults. Having no option as I was unable to leave my course, they took my personal belongings and laid them all out on the bed in lines and had left the dressing gown, so I had to call once again for another gown. Also, I had to get the tv fixed twice and they blamed the cleaners for moving the wires, instead of apologising. Unfortunately we live in a society where people just pass the buck. I'm sure if I was a privately paying customer and not on a business trip I would have been treated differently. There was one good thing about the stay, the lady with shoulder length hair who ran the bar area in the mornings for breakfast was wonderful.
A nice spa hotel with good rooms and food, relaxing and pleasant, we visited a few times once with my family for a spa break, also for my daughters 12th birthday, she invited some friends and had a good time, whilst we were able to relax also.
I found myself at Ullesthorpe Court rather by chance, and was bowled over by the lovely staff, the excellent accomodation, but most of all by the outstanding food which really sets it apart from the competition.
We were a large group of 40 people who spent Friday and Saturday night at the Ullesthorpe Court Hotel on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. The booking went very smoothly with excellent communication, and a very good price for what we received. Jayne could not have been more helpful in accommodating all our requirements. Check in went very smoothly considering the size of the group. The rooms were very comfortable. My only criticism would be that they were on the warm side and those in rooms with an interleading door did have one or 2 issues with noise although arguably, we didn't ask reception for any assistance in that regard and did discover that they would have been more than happy to help deal with the issue. The breakfast was diverse and well presented and our evening meal was fantastic. We had a private function room and Lisa and team looked after us very well. They were extremely efficient, fun and very understanding. We have been to other hotels before on tour and it was really remarkable how well they dealt with our group in such a pleasant and helpful way. Their pool and leisure facilities are also significantly better than some of the other hotels we have stayed in I would highly recommend this hotel
Very disappointed today with are roast dinner all 3 meats not cooked enough .roast potatoes could not cut .we did mention it to the waitress but no manger came to see us . Starters were fine . Shame because we are regulars and as a rule it's usually very nice.
Stayed 17th Feb 1 night dinner b&b. Staff very friendly and helpful, service great. Especially the receptionist Izzy. Food excellent ate in the restaurant. Overall a very pleasant experience. Will visit again very soon.
I really really enjoyed.my stay at this hotel. It's a mix of old and modern. The leisure facilities were small and basic (steam, sauna , jacuzzi, pool etc) but we'll run. Bar was nice, evening meal was fantastic, rooms clean and spacious. Ok verbally, I liked it.
Brilliant winter afternoon tea at Ullesthorpe Court. Service was excellent and the hotel itself is set in lovely countryside with a spa and golf court as part of what's on offer. The tea was lovely beautiful fresh sandwiches smoked salmon included, still warm scones with clotted cream and jam . Hot sausage rolls, cheese straws and beautifully made cakes. This was by far the best afternoon tea I have had and would highly recommend for yourself or for a gift for someone else. Lovely afternoon out in beautiful surroundings
A very welcoming and efficient hotel. Really friendly staff that help you as much as possible. A little bit out of the way but very quiet because of that. Rooms are clean and well fitted and extremely comfortable. They have a meal of the day which is a good option for those staying on business, the breakfast also is first class. Bar prices are a tad higher than you would hope to pay but the bar is very pleasant. I will definitely revisit on my next business trip to that area.
Stayed here for a long weekend. It's a really great hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was fabulous with a great separate sitting area, and very funky windows between the rooms. Very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. The outside seating areas and the grounds are lovely. The best review I can give is we can't wait until we stay again.
Normally I would not award five stars to what is a fairly normal hotel, however the experience we had when celebrating New Year here warrants top marks. In terms of the accomodation, the rooms are very good, the small premium for an executive is worth paying, the rooms are large, well appointed with good bathrooms. We went as a party of twenty to celebrate New Year's Eve, and everything was really very good. As part of the package, dinner was included, with a limited choice. Again, one would not expect too much of a meal as part of a package, catering for large numbers, however the food was exceptional, and all of the options were extremely well prepared and very high quality. The party after dinner was great, and brunch the following morning was good as well. My wife and I went for a swim in the hotel pool, again the facilities were as good as one might expect in a far more expensive location. It is a very attractive hotel, with lovely walks around the area, and a golf course on hand as well. All of the service we received whilst staying there was more on a par with the Ritz than a normal chain hotel. All in all an excellent choice, we may well go back next year!
This hotel has the loveliest staff and offers great entertainment (although I enjoyed Fawty Towers more). I just wish the bar area was a little more cosier. A room with a log fire and comfy sofas would make it perfect. Although in better weather they have a beautiful outdoor seating area. Nice garden centre with cafe/restaurant short drive away. Unlike many golf hotels I have stayed, there are walks from the hotel.
Great hotel. Nice rooms and clean. Good gym and pool. Breakfast is good. The Ladies at breakfast are very polite. Booked to stay here again in business as it's a great hotel. Beds comfy and a decent nights sleep. Plenty of channels on tv. Bathroom has underfloor heating and a very good towel warmer rail.
My first stay here and it was faultless. Quick & easy check in, nice big room, good Wi-fi, quiet so good sleep. Plenty of free car parking. Close to main motorways & trunk road for easy access. Decent bar & food options and good quality breakfast.
The hotel is lovely and comfortable with a spa, pool, gym and golf. Staff could have been friendrier and more interactive with the visitors. I found the drinks expensive and the food wasn't good, again it wasn't cheap and not a very inspiring menu. Breakfast however was good with a lot of choice.
I stayed here for 3 nights on business. The place is old and as cosy as you would expect from English countryside. Nice gym with more than just treadmills and the bar/bistro served food of good price and quality. Nothing near so prepare to hangout
Very nice place with excellent surroundings. The food was fabulous and plenty of it. Service was good too and everyone was very friendly and polite. Very good value for money. Would definitely go back for another meal.
Going nearby Christmas party, decided to stay here to save driving.great little hotel.on entering it was nice and warm, staff on front desk very welcoming and friendly.the rooms were spacious, clean, warm, with all the usual amenities.leisure centre was good, small pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.all clean and well run.highly recommended.
Excellent Sunday lunch...Three choices of meat with plenty of vegetables brought to the table..Also boiled and roast potatoes..Staff friendly and service very good...Good value at £20 for three courses...
I stayed here for 3 nights on business, and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and the room I stayed in was well appointed, with a full bathroom and all the usual amenities expected from a good hotel. I ate in the bar area all 3 nights I was there, and found the food to be of a good standard, with a good and varied evening meal menu. There was also plenty of tables and good Wi-Fi for evening laptop work. The breakfast was pretty standard buffet style, with plenty of choice, with The hot food replenished often. My only reason for one star less was the room I was in was a little noisy, and had rather ineffective heating, and I had to use the shower in another room as the tap in mine decided to fall apart. It was fixed by the time I came back later that afternoon though. All in all a pleasant stay, and pretty good value for money.
Used this hotel three times this year as a base for visiting family and friends in the area. Good clean and friendly hotel. Food very good in restaurant and bar. Breakfast is now not included but added as an extra depending on your requirements, Found this to be complicated and breakfast should be included in the price.felt they did not want you to have breakfast.
My second stay at this lovely hotel. The on-site restaurant is excellent (amazing steaks), the leisure facilities are very nice and the staff are absolutely fabulous. Massive shout out to Sara on Reception who is awesome and the housekeeping team who tucked my toy bunny ??up when they made my bed and gave him a little packet of biscuits - hee!
Arrived to be greeted by friendly reception staff. Give information on what was available at the hotel Including swimming pool, gym and the health spa. Clean room and the general refreshments in the room though having hot chocolate was a nice extra. Enjoyed the evening meal with the Thursdays special of Calvary a Magnas Cider and sticky toffee and salted caramel ice cream. A good range available at breakfast. Easy access to site and not too far from daul carriageway. Would recommend staying here.
Fabulous setting.. The staff were all very cheerful and gave us a warm welcome. The banquet manager was superb, anything she was asked for was no problem. Infact the whole team, receptionists, bar staff, cleaners, waitresses were excellent. The chefs need a big big pat on the back as the food they gave us was superb. The room was lovely, spacious and very clean. tea making facilities were always topped up each day. Bathroom was immaculate and again all toiletries topped up each day. Would love to go back again one day as the area is beautiful and the hotel definitely made it a great break away..
We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this hotel, once again nothing could be faulted. The staff are all so friendly and nothing seems too much trouble, special mention must go to Sharon who welcomed us so warmly to breakfast that by the end of our 3 day stay we felt like good friends. The whole hotel was immaculately clean and the facilities are great, we really loved the pool and spa area. We can't wait to return thank you
A fabulous location for my father-in-laws 80th birthday. The hotel was a perfect base to host our large family group and we were very impressed with the service we received. The staff were very helpful and our requests for things such as a projector to show a slide show and easels to display large photo boards were met with minimal fuss. The food was of a very high standard and they happily catered for vegetarians and gluten free members of our party. The golf, gym and pool facilities ensured that there was plenty to keep people occupied and there are some lovely walks from the hotel. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was exceptional and we would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will definitely visit again.
As mention before a nice mix of an old house and new extensions mostly at the rear out of view. All the staff especially in the restaurant was very polite and helpful. The meals we eat were excellent, no complaints. Only down side was the hair dryer short-circuited when turned on, unsettling my wife. We took the offending item to reception when we checked out and suggested that the housekeeping check these items when cleaning the rooms. Although reception apologised there was no offer of another hair dryer for my wife to dry her wet hair! One word of warning, do not park under the large oak tree, as birds will use your car as target practice! Overall very good but there is room for this hotel's management to tighten up on.
This is my 4th visit and it doesn't change in providing an excellent venue , great staff in great surroundings. To have a golf course is an advantage and a great venue for golf groups. Excellent bar food and a Leisure Club all add to an enjoyable experience. I was very impressed with the standard of my room. Excellent shower and spacious.
I booked a spa day for 4 after attending a great fundraiser the previous week. The service we received today was excellent from start to finish. Our designated table was complete with welcome drink and fruit; the treatments were really good and our afternoon tea delightful with a never ending supply of tea. We had full use of the sauna, steam room and pool and towels and bathrobes were provided. The hotel is clean and staff were welcoming and very helpful. My party of four all agreed on a second visit quite soon. Thank you for a lovely day.
we had booked a room for our son's fundraising event. The service from start to finish has been outstanding. The room was perfect. the staff friendly and helpful and the food just perfect and to a much higher standard than we expected. highly recommended
Course in great condition. Pity the golfers were not. It took 5 HOURS to get round this course in a better ball event. Waited on virtually every shot with two groups in front who knew nothing about golf or etiquette. There was a ranger who did nothing. It was the worst event I have entered in the last 30 years. We will not be returning again. If I was a member I would move tomorrow.
Great value and highly entertaining murder mystery evening. Hotel very clean and very helpful staff. Would highly recommend. Also use of the spa was a bonus. We used it when we arrived and the day of departure at no extra cost.
Comfortable hotel. Converted old house plus extentions. Has lots of character and some history. Was used as a hospital during WW1 to house injured soldiers. There is a plaque concerning this event. Cosy and comfortable dining room.
We stayed at this 4* hotel for 3 nights with breakfast and dinner included. I can honestly say that this is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and spotless. This was a standard room which in most hotels would be deemed “Executive” due to the size. There's a security safe in the wardrobe which you can program; plenty of coat hangers; towels and toiletries which are refreshed each day. If you've forgotten anything, the front desk is manned 24/7. Free WiFi included too. We couldn't get the TV to work but after contacting reception, within minutes a member of staff had fixed the problem. Very efficient. The hotel seem to employ a lot of staff so someone is always around if you need anything. I think the staff are the company's best asset. They all seem very happy and customer-friendly/focussed as well as efficient and professional. This is a welcome change from many establishments. All our meals were taken at the hotel. The standard was superior with good-sized portions and beautifully presented. This was both in the bar and attending a small gathering for a private function. The only gripe I had was with breakfast – not the same standard. A request for poached eggs was forgotten as was a pot of tea on arrival and the buffet selection wasn't replenished quickly enough for guests (10 mins to wait for baked beans). We didn't use the leisure facilities during our stay. The salon was fully booked all weekend, showing how popular it is. This is one hotel I will definitely visit again when in this part of the country. Highly recommended and thank you to everyone for a very pleasant and relaxing break.
The room was a good size, clean and tidy. OK water pressure in the shower. Good speed free WiFi. Breakfast was the standard offering, well presented with good coffee. Plenty of free parking in a good sized carpark.
We held our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration here. We hired a private dining room and booked 3 suites for our children and grandsons and a room for ourselves. The booking was overseen by Helen Clarke who was excellent. The dinner was very good, catering for one of the party who needed a Gluten free meal. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was not so great. I had to wait about 10 minutes and ask for the bacon to be topped up and the clearing away of plates was slow. Would recommend the hotel highly.
Although the hotel is understandably popular with golfers, it's swimming pool, spa and leisure facilities make this a nice destination for those not interested in the game. The hotel is located in a tranquil spot and a nice restful place to be. The rooms were comfortable with a lift to upper floors. There are a couple of steps to negotiate to get from reception to the lift. Good choice at breakfast and although we did not try the restaurant for other meals, the food served at a family buffet in a private room was excellent
I have just spent a very pleasant 4 nights at the hotel. Ideal situation in the countryside. All staff very friendly especially at breakfast the first 2 mornings. The bedroom was very modern and nicest I have been in during 6 weeks travelling around England and Wales. The bathroom mirror was really good as it was heated so that it didn't steam up. Also very nice bath towels. Room looked out onto a very pleasant formal garden. One little problem was my room access card deprogrammed on 2 days. I was warned not to put it near a mobile phone but I wasn't carrying one. I worked it out that it was probably being near other credit cards in my walet that caused the problem. Another hotel had previously warned me about that. So I mentioned it on checkout .
Good hotel and we had a superior room which was well appointed with good bathroom and comfy bed. Only downside was that the room was hot with no aircon. Staff helpful a food including breakfast was good.
Lovely mini spa break for two nights with my mother. My only discomfort was the two girls on reception when I arrived. They were quite unfriendly and patronising and made my initial experience horrible. This did get better though as the salon staff were friendly. This also continued throughout our stay as the reception staff who came on for the evening were really friendly and accommodating. The food at the Golfing Restaurant was fantastic. Massive portions! The clients and members there were also friendly and chatty. I wish I had took the names of the two reception staff that made us feel unwelcome as they really let the hotel down.
Booked through tesco had an executive room. The room was very nice with a lovely bathroom, nice and quiet. Staff are fantastic. My only gripe is there wasn't a very bug choice for breakfast, stayed in another hotel close by the next day and breakfast was brilliant there. We had a bar meal the first night I had the pizza it was ok but that's all I can say about it, my husband had the hunters chicken but he didn't enjoy it, really just stodge. The next evening we ate in the restaurant, the service was very good we both had the goats cheese mushrooms which were lovely, I had the lamb rump which was quite difficult to cut but it tasted nice and my husband had pasta which he enjoyed, we also played the golf course which is in nice condition although there is work going on so first couple of holes which are not very good. I would recommend .
The hotel is a little off the beaten track but nice all the same. There was wedding taking place and the hotel was busy, but this didn't detract from the lovely welcome from the reception and the staff on the whole were really friendly and a credit to the management. The room was clean, tidy and a little basic but this didn't detract from our stay. We would definately stay again.
As a rule (which I have to break sometimes) I don't stay in a hotel unless it has spa facilities. When I had to book a hotel in the area at the eleventh hour I saw this had pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for a great price so I snapped it up. Check in was swift and easy. Those on reception were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The spa facilities were superb and it was quiet too. I had the giant jacuzzi all to myself for an hour. I had my evening meal in the bar. The steak sandwich was very nice although I thought it was overpriced and the service a little slow. Overall I'm glad I chose this place and would do again.
My wife and I enjoyed two nights at the Ullesthorpe Court Hotel on 26th & 27th August as a get away weekend. Plenty of parking though I couldn't understand why the drivers of petrol and diesel cars consistently parked in the well marked bays for electric only vehicles. Reception, pool and restaurant staff were universally pleasant helpful and made you feel extremely welcome with no request being no bother. Well done to all the staff, with special mentions for Izzy, Katie, Clare & Olivia. The hotel is situated just outside of the village of Ullesthorpe and has large well laid out grounds and as it's name would suggest has a golf course. We arrived moments after 3pm to find our room not ready as as we had tea and cake included in our deal we went to the bar. We were very presently surprised when it came as it was not just one cake but a selection; brownies, lemon posset, macaroons, cupcakes and raspberries. 10/10 We were booked in to their comfortable standard double room near their leisure facility. Bed was a little firm but okay. We have memory foam pillows at home and the hotel's pillows were not to the same standard and so we will bring our own next time we come. Room was kept very clean but when we went out for our walk on Sunday we were surprised to find when we returned to our room around 1.30pm the room had still not been cleaned. Wi-Fi worked well reasonably everywhere in the hotel with the exception of their decked area outside. In the evening we ate in the Woodland Court restaurant and again had a very nice meal with very attentive and helpful staff. We awoke on Saturday to glorious sunny weather and started the day to their buffet breakfast regaling ourselves with a nicely cooked breakfast; sausage, bacon, black pudding and eggs. Plus good sized croissants, fruit and toast (all too frequently hotels have really bad croissants). We both felt that the breakfast was one of the best we had had in a hotel for a while. After breakfast Clare gave us details of various local walks and we spent several hours exploring the area. We didn't have lunch but had dinner in their bar. With the weather so warm and sunny we ate outside. Between my wife and I we had scampi & chips and burger & chips. Both nice but both came with too small a portion of chips. The next day we availed ourselves of the pool - again staff very helpful. My wife did a few lengths while I enjoyed the warm waters of the jacuzzi. We had a very relaxing time here particularly as it was so quiet. What did surprise me was that the changing rooms did not have a toilet. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we are planning on coming again in November.
we were looking for somewhere different for a evening meal out. The menu looked good & also from google view you could walk around inside the hotel gave a good impression. there is plenty of parking on site & the facility to charge your electric vehicle ( but were being used by other vehicles). Nice reception area & were met in the bar where we ordered drinks. There were plenty of tables to sit at while we looked at the menu & then ordered at the bar. the starters arrived & were well presented & tasty 1 prawn cocktail & 1 pate which were both very good & a good size portion. On to the mains of macaroni cheese & a court burger which similar well presented & well cooked. Then the desserts of lemon posset & the caramel cheesecake which were naughty but nice & very fresh. The price of the drinks & food were slightly more expensive than some pubs but it is a 4* hotel so you expect to pay slightly more! But the food for the two of us came to just under £50 & was worth it so would recommend going if in the area or staying in the hotel.
We were only here for one night unfortunately, but was very impressed with the hotel and its setting. The twin room was lovely, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean and everything that we needed. We didn't eat there as we were there for a family party elsewhere. The breakfast was very nice, lots of choice and beautifully cooked. The staff on reception in the bar and at breakfast were very pleasant and helpful. Our only regret was that we didn't have time to use the gym or pool. We will certainly come back again.
I was invited to the play in the open golf day the first two greens on temporary greens due to new holes and greens being built but they were excellent you could not fault the course in any way some very difficult greens but all great fun to play a great pro shop full of golfing gear We then had a drink in clubhouse very friendly staff followed by a meal Sunday Carvery in hotel bar which was very nice but rather small portions of meat all in all a most enjoyable day and would recommend
Stayed here early August on a golf weekend with 5 mates. We have had this weekend away for the past 6 years and try different places using the two main golf break companies. Usually there is one area that doesn't quite tick the box but not this time we all agreed this was the first time every box was ticked. The golf course was in great condition and had something for all levels of golfer, even the very quick greens. The location was easy to get to and only an hour from our base in Bedfordshre. Hotel good with very friendly and helpful staff who were not upset by the antics of 6 well oiled golfers, even joining in with the banter. The local members were friendly and helpful both out on the course and back on the bar The leisure facilities were excellent for those of us who could get up on the morning. Some hotels on golf breaks give you a different menu from their regular restaurant menu but not here and the food was very good. It's the first golf break where we are already planning to go back next year to the same place
Dined here and really enjoyed their Fawlty Towers Dining Experience. Great value for money and a good laugh. Effectively Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, with Entertainment, for £145 for 2. The meal, lasting over 2 hours interspersed with Basil, Cybil and Manuel and their comic turns, was excellent and not an easy thing to organise and deliver. The restaurant managers and staff and actors all did very well in providing an evening of fun. Well Done!
Well off the beaten track, so it is in a secluded setting with no traffic noise. Room was of a good size( upgraded upon request as a Diamond select card holder). All facilities worked except light in the bathroom mirror. Breakfast offered a good selection of both hot and buffet food, but surprising that a 4* hotel does not offer any cooked to order options, not even poached eggs. Food for evening meal offered a fair selection of dishes.
We booked a last minute night away for my partners birthday. We book the 1night simplicity spa break and all I can say is wow! And would go back again in a heart beat. My partner and I both had a treatment one being a back massage and the other a facial, we then spent the rest of the afternoon using the leisure facilities before checking in. Our room was lovely very clean and had just what we needed in it. All the staff we spoke to were friendly, helpful and polite. We had dinner in the woodland restaurant the food was delicious with plenty to choose from, the atmosphere was perfect the only down side was there was a table of men being very loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk never mind the music but they soon moved on to the bar. We went on to the bar for a drink after dinner again very clean lovely relaxing atmosphere. My partner enjoyed breakfast as he enjoys a cooked breakfast but unfortunately I don't and I didn't feel there was much of a choice of alternatives. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and already planning our next stay.
Stayed here on a two night break to visit friends. What a good choice we made! The staff were wonderful & made us feel very welcome. The room was perfect, spotlessly clean & everything you could possibly need. In a wonderful peaceful location, I could quite easily have gone to sleep in the bar garden! We will be back to use the swimming pool, beauty room & just relax! Thank you.
We called in for lunch. There was no-one on reception, and no-one in the bar. We sat down, read the menu and waited. Someone drifted in and out of the bar but there was no greeting, no offer of drinks. Eventually we got up and left. What more can I say?
We came here on a two nightbed and breakfast break including dinner on the first night for a very reasonable price. We had a very large room, it was equipped with everything and it had a comfortable seating area and a beautiful bathroom. The food in the restaurant was good , plain but tasty. The bar food was also good. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. We wou D certainly return
As always an extremely well run establishment ,with friendly ,well trained ,and helpful staff .Always a pleasure to visit here (more than 10 times . The golf course is excellent with a friendly golf bar .
My wife and I were gifted 2 nights at the Ullesthorpe Court Hotel on 28 and 29th July 2017 as a birthday gift for my 65 birthday. We were booked into the large suite Room for the first night and a standard double for the next. The suite was a very large comfortable well furnished room complete with the shower and a separate modern bath a very large American style King Size bed, comfortable sofa and chairs and a dining table. Unfortunately the room was not available for the 2nd night and we moved to a smaller although adequate and comfortable pretty standard double room. Both rooms were clean pleasant and very comfortable. Wifi worked well everywhere in the hotel but kicked you off after a period of non use. Reception, service and restaurant staff were universally pleasant helpful and made you feel welcome. Well done to all the staff. The hotel is situated just outside of the village of Ullesthorpe and has large well laid out grounds and as it's name would suggest a golf course. The vent we attended was a 3 course dinner from a limited but adequate menu, served in between the highly entertaining and very funny Comedy Dining Fawlty Towers Interactive Act. What a fantastic evening. Great fun was had by all, The 3 course meal consisting of a fresh tomato or basil soup, chicken dish or a pork and mushroom sauce, and a very good cheesecake was very good if not particularly memorable, but then we were really there for the entertainment. We spent our second day exploring the area but ate dinner in the restaurant, The menu was perfectly adequate if not particularly exciting. The food was all very well prepared and generously portioned, and there was a sensibly priced and reasonably extensive wine list. Breakfast was buffet style with the usual choices Juices, Continental style buffet or full English. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay her and would happily stay again evne if we had to pay ourselves! .
Just one night here whilst on business in the area. Friendly accommodating staff and the rooms are perfectly adequate and clean. Situated in a quiet area where I felt that my car was safe in the car park. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed doe to some kitchen refurbishment which meant that my colleagues and I had to seek out a restaurant on this Sunday night, fortunately they were local and were able to find one. The option was to eat in the golf club bar where a very limited range of "quick meals" were available. The bar also closed down in the afternoon with again the option of the golf bar. Despite the limitations on this occasion I would definitely stay there again if in the area and hope for a more complete experience.
Huge bedroom, clean and modernish. Comfortable bed. Looks like there is plenty there but as it was a late night check in and early check out I never sampled any of the amenities. Quick bar meal that was good and quick, decent choice of breakfast lots of parking and very quiet. I would return
Myself and my now husband just had the best weekend celebrating our wedding here. We could not have asked for better. From booking to the day we had amazing service. Helen over email was amazing at organising and helping prepare for the big day. Claire met with us and then proceeded to run the day and worked from dusk till dawn making sure we had the best time ever. These two were honestly amazing. The rest of the staff were just lovely and everyone commented on their helpfulness and cheeriness. The venue is just lovely from the rooms to the wedding rooms, the terrace and the bar. Thank you so so so much for a wonderful weekend and months of hard work. The food is also spot on and the pool is lovely.
We booked a two night stay at the hotel for a family wedding. Our room was very nice. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. We ate in the hotel bar on the first night and there is a great choice. I had the daily special burger which was delicious. Plenty on the breakfast menu! Would definitely recommend a visit.
3 of us went for Sunday lunch starters ok main course very poor.vegetables and roast potatoes rock hard the whole meal was just Luke warm and served on cold plates . Very disapointed ,we were regular customers but won't be back in the near future.
We had a beautiful wedding at Ullesthorpe Court in June. From the time we first booked until our wedding Clair and her team could not be more helpful. All our guests have commented about what a wonderful day it was and how everything ran so smoothly - that was definitely the work of Clair and her team!! We had a spring package which we thought was excellent value for money, the food is amazing and our room was lovely. We had the Blaby suite for our wedding and we felt like the only ones at the hotel. Well done, fantastic job.
my mother and father in law were both 80 we had a three course meal included was a fantastic carvery the meat selection was amazing so was the taste of the meat, we had very fresh veg the staff were so helpful and patient I would highly recommend
3rd time visiting here, We came for a 2 day break, golf and overnight stay. Golf course is very good. Offers something for all standards. Hotel clean and tidy with excellent food. Booked it through golf breaks. 8 of us played golf Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Will be back again next year.
We stayed here as part of a golf trip. The hotel rooms are clean and tidy and adequate for a short stay. The breakfast is good and sets you up for a day on the course. We were a large group so the evening meal was a little chaotic but everyone enjoyed the food. The only downside is the area to drink in is quite limited if you're not at the table.
Well equipped room, clean with a comfortable bed. I had a starter and main evening meal, well presented and perfectly cooked. Chef/kitchen a cut above the norm! Staff attentive and friendly. Good breakfast continental and cooked.
attended a wedding here early this year, the hotel itself is clean tidy and has some nice grounds round for photo's etc. stayed in a room with no working shower until I complained. have stayed in other Great Weston's that are not a PLUS and they rate better than this one
The reason for my visit was unique for me. We were a group of colleagues, decorators, from a forum. Most had not met face to face. The majority were golfers, which was the reason for the visit. The whole visit was a pleasure, all staff were excellent, one in particular gets a special thanks... Izzy on reception really went out of her way to find others of the group for initial meetings... remember we did not know what each other looked like. She was whizzing round looking for xxx to bring to yyy, thanks again Izzy. The room was very clean, well appointed, excellent towels, tea making facilities. We had the evening meal. They wanted pre order a few hours ahead, naturally for a large group. All dishes met their owners with ease even though the was no seating plan. The food was actually superb. I wont detail my whole meal but just say my main was a whole lemon sole , £2 supp. Ive never had better. All in all... great in all respects. We are planning the next visit
Stayed here as had a meeting in Leicester, check in was very friendly and efficient, the evening dinner, both good and service was excellent as was breakfast but the room needed some TLC. Lights not working, moisture in double glazed units, faulty radiator valve but the bed was comfortable. Despite the few problems I have booked again as the food, service and comfortable bed more than made up for the problems.
As a regular business traveller, familiarity with hotels has bred a contempt within me. Usually staying in chain hotels near trunk roads, but then I stayed here. While it has the umbrella brand of a big chain, it felt like a cosy independent hotel. It is surprisingly big - but retains a very personal feel. Had I known more about this hotel I would have tired to maximise the leisure options and spend longer there. Room has very clean, standard sizing and strong wifi. Its the little things, like biscuits in the room, that make the difference. Breakfast is fine, avoid busy times as the serving area is relatively narrow and queues form. Also, coffee is from a flask and not always piping hot. Food from the bar is filling and good value. I left feeling there was much more to explore, so will be back to do just that.
I stay every now and then as my company based nearby has an account here. It's an ok hotel. The newer rooms are a good size, clean and well organised. Some areas in the hotel are a bit tired but not so bad, on this visit I could see a fair bit of good quality refurbishment underway; the new outdoor space by the bar in particular looks amazing. A really high quality finish and a fantastic solid oak gazebo. I'd agree with most of the comments about the staff, they're very friendly and genuinely seem happy in their work. Very rare in the hostility industry these days, in the U.K. At least. A downside for me, being very picky given the name of the place is the groups of golfers on society trips and tours. It's like a male, middle aged hen party at times; wigs, fancy dress and noisy japes. At the first sight of a group of this type I'm darting out of the door and off to The Dirty Duck at the bottom of the road! Excellent Thai food and a decent pint!
Went with large party of golfing ladies - room superb (immaculately clean), food was amazing, and the Staff were incredibly helpful. The lady in the Club house bar/restaurant (Caroline?) worked her socks off to see us fed and watered - best service ever on an "away" weekend. Golf course under some reconstruction, with stroke indexes a bit peculiar, on a couple of holes. However, course as a whole was a true 'test' and much enjoyed by us all. Would definitely recommend this Hotel and Course.
Stayed here for a night and the area around is lovely. Easy access to the A5 to get to the bigger towns. Went to check in and the staff were just chatting and asked me to wait so she could sort herself out. You'd think they'd be ready straight away instead of socialising. However when actually being served they were very nice. Bedroom was very large, with a small 2 person dining table, sofa, large bed and nice ensuite. The mattress was super soft which both myself and partner hated. This may be a plus for others though. No soap in the ensuite, just shampoo and body wash. (not sure how I was meant to clean my hands after using the toilet!) The walls are VERY thin. I could hear everyone that walked past and their conversations. I could also hear the neighbours being ill after what was clearly a good drinking session. Didn't cost the earth but could have made a few small amendments and made the stay more enjoyable.
I have been here more than once and I quite like this hotel that is at a country location tucked away with quite a few trees around it As I like the garden centre nearby I have a secret life of going in here for a drink sometimes on passing by especially if it is a nice day.. Its nice just to go here and look around be my guest..
Recently visited Ullersthorp for a two day golf break. The hotel is nicely located in the countryside with some great views from the golf course. The rooms were a good size with good decor, Good beds, so a comfortable nights sleep. Food at both dinner and breakfast was good if not great, and the service was very good. Only disappointment was with the Golf Course as two holes have been used for housi development, so two par 5's have been turned into four holes. Would be nice to play the course again, when they have 18 true golf holes.
Lovely! Afternoon tea Nice clean surroundings, looking out across the fields Fresh linen tablecloth Good selection of Sandwiches and cakes, very tasty and well presented Best scones I have tasted, lovely and moist Plenty of tea and coffee Delicious! Highly reccommended
Professional and friendly staff. Excellent clean spacious room. Good spa facilities although the poolside needed to be cleaned as it was quite dirty. The changing rooms could have done with a swim costume dryer and plastic bag dispenser. This is the norm for other golf&spa hotels.
Good quick check in. The room which was allocated had a view of a Brick Wall, so we obviously requested an alternative. Staff were very obliging. Shower only room which was great. Very few rooms have any outlook to speak of, but were clean and spacious. We ate mainly in the Bar/Restaurant which was super. Good choice Menu with different specials every night. The main Restaurant was lovely although we did not try it. The Gold course was very good and challenging enough. We wanted to use the pool, but the changing rooms and lockers were one floor up and having mobility problems, it just wasn't something I could manage, We were rather disappointed. All in all a nice Hotel but very little to do round about.
Booked a spa day with extra treatment for myself and a friend very warm welcome when we arrived the staff were very friendly nothing too much trouble. The facilities were clean and tidy. Cream tea was to die for. And the treatments were fantastic. Thank you will definitely be back
As one of a party of eight we had a 2day 3round golf break here, the food was excellent, but the golf course greens were impossible, I play off 9 and found that nearly all the greens the holes were cut on aslope, not that there was any flat part on any greens, all the greens need flattening out to make it an enjoyable course as aparty I Suspect we averaged 40+ putts per round which spoilt the break.
Course under construction but this did not deflect from its enjoyment. However the best part were the attention of all the staff at the resort. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was excellent from start to finish. A great advert for the service industry.
This hotel looks tired. We booked last minute for an over night trip whilst heading north and were assured and paid for 'an executive room'. The first impression when entering our room was smelly. It reeked of smoke, and after further investigation outside the window were numerous cigarette ends! I think my next point questions just what is an executive room? It certainly looked nothing like the picture on booking.com. It could basically have been a premier lodge room. ( you know the one, enter door, bathroom on the left, wardrobe/shelving on the right, opening out to the bedroom). Only smaller, as such rooms usually have sufficient room for a settee.....this did not. Executive never. This room was PLAIN! Come on Best Western! We booked this on the strength of your name... I didn't expect dirty carpets that would look out of place in a third rate B & B. Rusty towel rails and rock hard eggs at breakfast. Over priced, never executive!
I have reviewed the restaurant here before but again found the experience excellent. Friendly professional staff. Customer orientated Went for Easter Sunday lunch. Excellent menu backed by quality food well prepared and served. A lovely occasion. Try it soon.
We had lunch at Ullesthorpe Court on 26th March to celebrate my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary. It coincided with Mothering Sunday so the restaurants ended up very fully booked. The food and service were excellent throughout. The suite we were in had several different family parties and had sufficient staff to ensure every group received attentive service. Staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful,eg willingly fetching real ale from the main bar for some in our party. The special fixed price menu for the day catered for all and was excellent value. Everyone in our party was happy with their selection. Certainly made our special occasion a lovely experience. Thank you so much.
Visited as part of a wedding part. Very good value and good facilities in scenic location. Rooms spacious if not a little dated. The complimentary toiletries and vanity items were nice. The beds comfy but you can here everything next door, even the person plugging something in or even snoring. I was quite shocked and uncomfortable about this and felt like i needed to whisper. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Staff very professional, friendly and helpful.
Discovered on check in duvet cover stained, promptly changed by staff however so noticeable it should never have happened. Rooms bland, magnolia walls and blue carpet, not 4 star standard. Cleanliness & room upkeep below par & show a lack of attention to detail e.g. floor edges dusty and toilet stained. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Recently spent a weekend at Ullesthorpe Court. This was our second visit having been there around 3 years ago. Again it did not disappoint. The meal choice and quality was very good and the level of service from a very happy staff group would be difficult to match. This hotel provides everything for a getaway break at a price that represents outstanding value. We will return but but will not leave it so long this time. Thank you.
An excellent place to stay, a bit like being back home or wearing your comfy shoes. I've stayed here several times all with business, normally a mid week stay. The rooms are always great, the beds really comfy, and the smart TV and good internet connection means lots of choices. The breakfast was excellent with very attentive staff and a great choice of food. When hot items were running low, the would regularly refill. They had some fresh juices on offer, including a 'black carrot-fibre smoothie' sounded gross, but was actually one of the nicest things I've ever drank - would highly recommend to anybody. Many thanks again Ullesthorpe, see you again next month :)
We attended a wedding of close friends on the 26-11-16. Such a lovely venue. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, attentive and the food was great. A very pleasant day indeed. Special thanks to Claire who ensured everything ran smoothly. Thank you.
I stayed very recently, along with my extended family, for a double family birthday weekend. The staff were wonderful. Except for one minor exception, they were all very friendly, helpful, interested in us, and went out of their way to make it a special weekend for us. Seeing that we all struggled to fit into the bar area on our first night, they set aside a space elsewhere for us the following night and arranged dinner so that we got to use it for as long as possible. The pool and other facilities were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the fancy TV. The colour scheme could definitely do with an update, but that's nit-picking. Thanks for making a special, much-anticipated weekend even more special.
I can't understand the other positive reviews of this place as I didn't like it at all. Maybe Golfists have different aesthetic values? On the plus side the room was very clean, spacious and had reasonable facilities. The bathroom fan was automatic and deafening, the heated towel rail wasn't working and I couldn't find any means of controlling the room heating, so resorted to sleeping with the window open. The worst thing about this place was the combined bar and restaurant. I am a single female traveller but like to read with a glass of wine but this restaurant was so horribly, brightly lit, and had less atmosphere than a motorway service station. It was also populated by a lot of very sweary blokes which made me uncomfortable. The food was OK but fitted right in with the service station vibe. I would absolutely not stay here again
Stayed here as part of a wedding party, we booked a standard room which was really good. The room had everything in it you would need including an iron. The bathroom had lots of lovely clean towels, shampoo, soap ect. The tea tray was well stocked with a note to say you could get more milk from reception which was nice touch. The bed was really comfortable and we had a brilliant nights sleep. The drinks in the reception room were pricey but the buffet that was provided to the wedding party was brilliant with a good choice and plenty of it. Breakfast was included however it didn't match the standard of the room, we had to wait while everything was cooked and it came out in dribs and drabs therefore by the time you got all the items on your breakfast plate the first you put on was cold. Never mind all in all we had a good time I wouldn't hesitate to return to the hotel when I have a chance.
The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The carvery in the bar area was good and tasty as was the breakfast. The Spa was excellent with good facilities, the only thing missing was the lack of a spinner in the changing rooms.
My family and I often stay at this hotel due to visiting family. Every time is just as great as the last! Location is brilliant. Lovely and pieceful. Hotel facilities are spot on. Everywhere is clean especially the rooms. Would definitely recommend for all types whether your a couple, family or friends. The food is great. Brilliant options for breakfast!
The spa staff were so helpful and polite.Nothing was too much trouble. The spa ran like clockwork, it was well organised and clean. I had two treatments with Amy the beautician, and she was lovely and very competent at her work.
Superb, loacation, plenty of parking leisure facilities, and lovely rooms. Clean. Restaurant , Breakfast superb selection. All staff polite and very courteous. A lovely retreat, set within lovely Englisg Countryside. Superb villages creating a superb setting for this great Hotel.
We enjoyed a really great time at the Murder Mystery evening at the weekend. The food was amazing and the accommodation first class. Our room was spotless and had everything we could want. Plus, the murder evening entertainment was very well executed!!
Hotel is clean and comfortable, staff are very friendly. Good leisure facilities, dinner was good quality and value, breakfast was nice but there was a bit of a wait, they seemed to have trouble keeping up with demand. We have stayed before and likely to stay again.
Splendid hotel, took care of our party extremely well. Room very comfortable and food was excellent. Only criticism was breakfast was a bit 'normal' with buffet service. Only eggs available were fried and beans a bit gloopy.
Excellent venue and a great day at my friends wedding. Food was perfect, service good. The room was nice and clean but I was expecting more from a suite! It was just a double room? Overall very happy with our stay. The only downside was the price of drinks at the bar! We used the spa the next morning which was very relaxing.
In brief I have stayed at the Ullesthorpe more times than I care to remember going back some 30 years (on Business) now retired I visit now and again when visiting the local area as we find its a great base for looking around . As normal we paid the extra and enjoyed a suite well worth the extra and as normal everywhere spotless . Very friendly check in staff who recognised me and asked how retirement was going . We stayed for two nights Friday and Saturday this is where things started to go down on previous visits . The bar meal now excludes any form of sandwiches and only serves Tapas and fish and chips , we waited near one hour for our food and to be fair they gave us a free drink to compensate for the delay. On the Saturday night we had booked the Main Resteraunt upon entering the Resteraunt there was another couple and a party of around ten people . We were shown to our table and the noise eminating from the party of ten was overbearing and we could not hear each other talk. The Resteraunt manager came over and I pointed out that the noise was Extream from this party and detracted from others enjoying their meal I asked if he could have a quiet word with the party to refrain from shouting !!! He said he would have a word ? The noise continued and it would have been quieter at a football match , we had ordered drinks and a young lady came to take our food order , I explained I could not even hear her due to the noise at this point we decided this was not for us and said we were not going to order food and we would leave the Resteraunt at that point she brought me my bill for the drinks !!! Which I considered adding insult to injury. So our night was totally ruined as we then had to drive into Lutterworth to enjoy a meal. We are fully aware the hotel and staff are not to blame for the loutish behaviour of their guests but we feel more could have been done to ask the party for a little consideration to other diners the other couple also complained but they had already started eating when the group came into the Resteraunt. I hope someone in the group reads this and understands one can enjoy a meal without spooling others enjoyment WHICH your group accomplished !!!!! But as long as you were ok !!!!
Second visit to this hotel. Easy access even though it is out in the countryside. Plenty of options for food so you don't have to worry about eating out. At night you hear the sounds of owls! This is a good place to stay for us whilst visiting the area.
Amazing room 324 bed was huge loved it garden view was lovely very quiet there was dressing gowns sleepers toiletries for u to use kettle tea and coffee a costa machine iron board and iron hairdryer tv fridge with water in fruit if u want it breakfast was lovely staff friendly swimming pool was lovely and warm jucuzzi was great loved the place perfect wke away will definitely go back
Just fancied a break away for one night and 'googled' this local hotel with spa facilities and restaurant open on a Sunday evening. Don't regret it-a really nice relaxing time. Spa is great, Sauna, steam-room, Jacuzzi and small pool . Towels provided by the Centre, gym also available but we didn't use it. Carvery was very good at fair price. We've booked for another night later in the year......a Fawlty Towers night, should be a laugh!
Visited here for a dinner & presentation - place is fairly well tucked away in the Leicestershire countryside. Nice bar and restaurant - the food and service great. Would certainly recommend it for a meal and drink>
Stayed over for one of their murder mystery nights, which I highly recommend, great fun especially for company parties and food included. Rooms were smart, clean and most importantly quiet. Really nice bar/lounge to chill out in. They also offer afternoon tea and a Sunday carvery
Stayed on a golf break with a large group of fellow golfers. The food and the service was excellent throughout our stay. Bedrooms were warm and comfortable. The golf course proved to be very challenging. Can recommend this hotel and spa for a chilled out experience!
This was my second visit to this hotel, and it was just as good as before! Helpful & efficient reception. Room large, clean & comfortable. Bed very good. Breakfast excellent with lots of choice. Cooked breakfast hot & tasty. Service excellent too. Facilities at this hotel highly recommended. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Highly recommended! Thank you.
Our daughters wedding was held her at the weekend and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. From day one of booking the venue the wedding cordinators have been first class. Not once have we meet a negative response always a ' can do attitude' . Our main point of contact was Claire and I cannot speak more highly of her. She went above and beyond to make sure the day was perfect....and it was!! Helen again couldn't have done anymore for us and she was always a pleasure to deal with. Thoughout the wedding weekend every member of staff, without exception, was helpful courteous and extremely polite.....all with a smile. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and clean. Our suite was wonderful and as it had a lounge that was perfect for bride and bridesmaids to get ready in before the ceremony. Our guests feedback was that they had thoroughly enjoyed the wedding. They also had very positive comments about the quality of the food and the service during the meal. If you are thinking of holding a wedding here ...do it! It will make the day a lot easier. THANK YOU EVERYONE AT ULLESTHORPE COURT HOTEL.
We get up here to Ullesthorpe once or twice a ywear, and I have to say ,what a great hotel and spa this place is! The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent too. There is a lovely golf course here too, I almost wish that I played so that I could take advantage of it.
This is the fourth time I have stayed here and every time I keep on saying I must stay longer of have a golf break with mates. Definitely on my list. Great service and food. Rooms very comfortable and a really challenging but enjoyable golf course. As with everything though the people make it happen. Very personable!
Used as a base for visiting the area, the hotel was very good and the staff very helpful. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room were very enjoyable. We enjoyed the breakfasts and all of the staff we came in contact with were very helpful and friendly.
Stayed over night with some friends, a very comfortable and clean hotel. The food was excellent break fast wonderful and staff were very helpful and friendly- would definitely stay again and recommend to others!
Needed a convenient location in the area, second stay this year, the hotel is located within easy reach of the M1. Booked a standard double, very comfortable bed, reasonably sized bathroom, nice to find bottled water provided at no extra cost. Took dinner in the restaurant, particularly recommend the pork escalope dish, wide range of dishes, including vegetarian options. Hotel was hosting a wedding on the night we stayed, however function rooms are located away from the majority of the rooms so we were not disturbed. Due to only staying one night, on this occasion did not have a chance to use the spa.
Eight of us stayed here having booked a golfing package. The hotel was clean throughout and the facilities were good. The rooms were spacious, adequately equipped, free Wi-Fi and the beds were comfortable. All staff we came into contact with were very friendly and efficient. There was a good choice of food available for breakfast and dinner and it was tasty and well cooked. The golf course was in excellent condition and is a challenge for golfers of all handicaps. Definitely recommended and we will return in the future.
Good hotel, but we had constant noise outside from ventilation system I think, and we couldn't sleep almost all night. We should have changed this room. Except this problem, we enjoyed sauna and jacuzzi, and we had good time overall.
Our 2nd stay in a year. The rooms and leisure areas are a bit dated and need a revamp I think but all in all a good place to stay. We had lunch there (sat) which was very nice and reasonable prices. The room was a decent size with normal facilities in it. The bed was bouncy, pillows hard and bathroom dated. TV was fine. It is a lovely spot though and the staff were very pleasant. We had a drink at the bar mid afternoon and the footy was on and we had a night cap there too. Breakfast was pretty decent and the price overall was quite good. It would be very impressive done up this place. For golfers a very good course apparently too. When we come back to the area we will return.
A perfect getaway in a beautiful setting. Staff were incredibly cheerful and helpful beyond the call of duty. We arrived early on a Monday but the staff were kind enough to rustle up a late breakfast for us and then let us access our room early. A relaxing walk around their golf course followed by full use of of their spa facilities followed by a massage worked up an appetite for dinner. A very pleasant stay all round. Shame we couldn't stay longer. Will recommend to friends and family. Thank you.
This is my second night with a car club booking for a number of us. I dined in the restaurant last night with my wife. I had a rib eye steak, I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world but last nights was up with the best of them. What's more the price was a fraction of some. Tonight we dined with 30 club members in a private room. Again excellent, keenly priced very satisfied by all. For the money I don't think you could better it.Well done to the management & staff.
Its an amazing country hotel with full ammenities nice bar staff and fitness staff. Food is lovely but wont stay again. On entering check in snapped at by receptionist my husband was dismayed could not believe this. Other guests said staff in a hurry as over confident as a hotel with awards. BEWARE £125 per night nil breakfast and zipped 2 beds to make king room. However staff kind enough to sort this with a quilt and it was better to sleep on. Was unwell in the morning asked for a piece of toast via reception advised £5 charge on top. Every other hotel never charges for that. Not very caring. Make sure you squeeze water out of swimming costume no swim suit spinner here strange for 4 star. When i stay marriot holiday inn or premier i never get zipped beds or poor uncaring attitude we dont care" attitude. I did contact management and explained this would never happen in the marriot he relayed that i said word marriot 5 times again very confrontational even after i told him i cancelled my future booking not sorry please stay we will make it better next time. Staying elswhere never use BW group again
Our group of 14 golfers have just enjoyed probably our best ever golfing break at this wonderful Hotel and course. We could not fault a thing. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for any of the amazing staff. The rooms, restaurants, all facilities and Golf Course are excellent. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending to any of our friends, we will most likely be back.
Well appointed bar in hotel and golf club complex. No real ale available. Menu is adequate but not inspiring. Food is well cooked. Service is good. Surroundings are beautiful, and bar is very modern. Staff are helpful.
I chose this hotel for our society's golfing week-end because of the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. There is a very pleasant 'small hotel' feel to Ullesthorpe Court, it has a comfortable restaurant (with excellent food) and friendly bar but the thing that strikes you from the moment you check-in is the 'can do' attitude of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. From the receptionist who sorted out our rooms, to the waiter in the restaurant who changed our dessert orders at short notice to the barman who seemed genuinely concerned that we were enjoying our stay, the service was outstanding. As for the golf... the course was in great condition with greens that wouldn't disgrace a Ryder Cup venue, There are a few memorable holes but, to be fair, it isn't sensational course. However it is very long and buggies are recommended especially for the older golfer - which was all of us. The real test is: 'would you go back?' yes, especially given the very attractive packages available,
Our group of 8 'retired' Rotarians had the pleasure of staying at this lovely ,comfortable, traditional Hotel for two days golf. Wonderful experience, from the friendly welcome on arrival at reception, to the smiley helpful restaurant staff, everyone seemed so content & happy, providing us with wonderful service. Dinner & breakfast was of the highest standard, again with friendly service, nothing was too much trouble, even when we changed our pre-booked deserts just as they were about to be served!!The picturesque Golf Course was in superb condition, beautifully manicured greens, neat & tidy fairways, with 5 very long Par 5's! Lovely course, give it a try, you'll love it!
This is a wonderful hotel, the rooms are really spacious all very modern, hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is set in a lovely location with views of the fields and golf course. Excellent food and very reasonable.
Lovely clean hotel with excellent friendly staff. I would highly recommend the bar restaurant. Excellent food served very quickly. The curry night on Tuesday's is cracking value too. Can't realky fault anything here.??
This hotel is on the outskirts of Lutterworth, it has a first class golf course and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is a first class hotel. The staff are amazing, the food is fantastic and sourced from local suppliers. The rooms are large and airy and the beds amazingly comfortable. It has ever comfort and the staff are, without exception there for all the guests.
Took friends who had never experienced Sunday lunch here. Again an excellent experience. Friendly professional staff w. An excellent menu from which all dishes were well prepared and presented. Amazing value for the meals provided and a very pleasing occasion. Well done. if you haven'rt been for Sunday lunch you should book it as soon as possible. You wont regret it.
We stay here for 2 nights this week from the moment we check in the staff we're so friendly,we had drinks in the bar again the staff friendly the second night we went for a swim which we enjoyded we book for dinner which was excellent, both mornings at breakfast we were look after by sharon who couldn't do enough for us
Another good night out at the Courts Woodlands restaurant, they have definitely upped their game , the food was excellent , service was friendly . Sometimes the detail is lost but we never let this affect our opinion , well done to all keep the good work up
We got a twin room for a very good price. Solidly comfortable beds, friendly staff, decoration not this year's style but very suitable for a place that opened as a golf hotel in 1903. The room looked over gardens- I think all the views would be good, because the hotel is in a quiet country setting (very near golf course, obviously). Most of the rooms seem to be in a newer part of the hotel but generally the new areas fit well with the older areas.
My husband and I got married here 29th July. The hotel and all the staff were fantastic. Claire and her team were amazing. The whole day flowed without any hitch. We had the beef Wellington for 70 people and it was so tender and tasty. Couldn't fault anything. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Claire for helping to make our day so special.
Stayed at this hotel Saturday (August 20th) for the Only fools and horses show, this was the best value for money you could get.The show and three course meal, and bed and breakfast was...£130-000 per couple, absolutely marvellous from start to finish. The staff were brilliant breakfast superb, slept like a log in the exceptionality clean room, only regret was we didn't book for the whole weekend.Well done Ullesthorpe court, hope to see you again soon.
Lincoln's bar is less formal, good menu selection, some items a little pricey for what you get. The main restaurant: decor somewhat dated & could do with a makeover! Food choice is varied, fresh & doesn't leave you struggling for choice! Food is tasty, fairly priced, staff are friendly & attentive- what more could you want!
Lovely hotel and grounds...Really enjoyed the Sunday carvery..Always a couple of meats to choose from and vegetables are brought to your table which is very nice..Nice surroundings and good value for money.. Cost is down to how many courses you want with three courses at £16...Loved the food!!!!! My only slight negative is that we were kept waiting to have our plates cleared longer than we would have expected and had to ask for dessert.....Staff appeared friendly...Enjoyed having our drink in the bar .......Would recommend....
Had a spa day with afternoon tea for my birthday with a handful of family and friends. We were looked after really well by Sara, although she wasn't intrusive. Lovely treatments and absolutely delicious afternoon tea. It's not the largest spa with loads of facilities but it's cosy and relaxing. The only thing missing is some loungers.
We had a dinner with colleaques. The T-Bone Steak was faboulous and the Service very well. The hotel is good, the break fast as well. Very good service, friendly staff. We had a great evening in a nice dinner-room.
Somewhat aged in decor this established hotel is clean and tidy enough. Best bit - the pool with air conditioning in the changing rooms. Worst bit - noisy fans from the kitchen running all night. Curiously a supplement is payable for fish at breakfast. Not come across this before at Best Western. Overall nothing special but adequate.
A real surprise from start to finish. Comfortable bedrooms, pleasant decor and very welcoming staff from reception to restaurant. Excellent food in main restaurant and breakfast and value for money. Excellent, highly recommended.
Fantastic all round break. Hotel rooms beautiful. Comfortable, clean and thought of everything one might need. Excellent golf course. Excellent food in the restaurant. Hearty well cooked buffet breakfast and attentive staff. Overall one of our favourite places. Three visits this year. So far??.
We had a great evening for murder mystery dinner, stayed overnight as such good value package, lovely clean room good breakfast. All in all could not fault, fantastic value very entertaining show at dinner, all staff wonderful those at check in could not have been more helpful. Definate recommend the murder mystery packages, you can ll use hotel spa facilities something we did not but maybe next time.
Great hotel, friendliest staff anywhere, great breakfast & great dinner We had a great stay & I recommend this hotel for all the above reasons Note that there is no air conditioning but apart from that it's great value I stayed here on a Saturday night on the bed, breakfast & evening meal deal, the food didn't disappoint
Third stay at this hotel - always high standards and great service. Staff are friendly and very courteous. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great Wifi and internet TV. Love the leisure suite - free use of sauna, steam room, jaccuzzi and pool. Great bar meals, or restaurant if you prefer more formal dining. Would highly recommend.
Although we didn't get to use all the facilities, this was a very pleasant hotel for a one night stay. Breakfast was great, but, in my opinion, a little expensive at £13 a head. Very comfortable room, and the staff were lovely. Beware taxis can take a while to get there. The area looks fantastic for walks!
We have stayed here on several occasions whilst visiting family nearby and cannot commend it highly enough. Beautifully maintained and with newly refurbished and quiet bed rooms you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. The staff are warm and friendly and the food is well-cooked and presented at both dinner and breakfast. This is a golf hotel and also hosts weddings but the staff always manage to place non-wedding guests well away from any noise. Whoever trains the staff here should feel very proud and there are many hotels in this country who could do with sending some staff here to see how it should be done
My sister is getting married here in December. We went today to see what the rooms all looked like when decorated; it looks amazing and their wedding coordinated is like a fairy godmother!! Can't wait for the big day! We also stopped in the golf section of the hotel for lunch, it was lovely. The lady who served us was really nice, friendly and welcoming. The food was great too! We went for the lunch options; 2 X jacket potatos and 1 x panini. I also ordered cheesy chips - they were huge!! Far too many for one person, though I did give them a good go!! Over all really nice place ??
My husband and I stayed here for a relaxing weekend, the hotel was pretty and welcoming with nice little features and ornaments positioned around. The room was spacious and it looked into the gardens which was a bonus. We really enjoyed the restaurant we had three courses with wine followed by coffee and they were all delicious and presented beautifully, breakfast didn't disappoint either, there was everything you would expect and all of a really high standard. We took advantage of the leisure facilities which were also lovely, the gym was air conditioned and the jacuzzi was a perfect way to unwind after a long drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - the only thing I would fault was that there was no air conditioning in the room and it was a particularly warm weekend which did make for a restless nights sleep even with the small fan that was provided. Don't let this put you off, it was a very nice stay.
We have just had a one night stay at this lovely hotel. Idyllic setting. So quiet and peaceful. On arrival, greeted by a friendly receptionist. Although early our room was ready. We went to the golf bar for lunch. Only 2 staff on and it was very busy due to the golf societies eating there. Yes, we had to wait but well with it. The lady in charge was in control and always laughing We found the hotel spotless. ALL staff very pleasant and approachable. We were staying there as going to Kilworth House for a concert and would certainly stay there again as only 20 mins away from venue.
Stayed for 2 nights in the summer. There were weddings both nights and despite being able to hear music in the lobby areas the rooms are far enough away that there was no disturbance at all. The staff were really friendly and helpful The breakfast was reasonable, regularly refilled & good service We also ate dinner one night in the main restaurant which was nice and a good price for 2 or 3 courses Rooms were comfortable but a little warm during the mini heat wave with only a fan for comfort Tea and coffee facilities and in room safe
My husband myself and 4 other friends have just spent a brilliant weekend in this fantastic hotel from the minute we arrived to the moment we left the staff were so friendly. Our room was lovely and very clean. My husband used the gym which he said we well equipped with everything you need he was very impressed. On the Saturday the men played golf and us ladies had a lovely spa day, I had a facial done by Anna thank you it was amazing I felt so chilled and relaxed. Then went swimming lovely pool then at lunchtime we had afternoon tea omg what can I say other than DELIDCIOUS lots of variety of sandwiches soft warm scones and the best selection of small cakes. We couldn't eat them all so they boxed them up to take away with us. I do have one tiny little wish and that is there are no loungers as it was such a beautiful day to have been able to lay outside in the sun would have topped our day off. We all ate in the restaurant on Friday night and 4 more friends came to join us we had the set menu, the food was fantastic it was such good value for money. There were 2 weddings while we were here Friday & Saturday but we heard no noise at all coming from the disco. Once again thank you to all the staff for running a brilliant hotel and making our long weekend so amazing. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it. Thank you
Our daughter was married here on the 9th July 2016. A fabulous day had by all. The staff were were absolutely superb and helpful. We would like to say a special thank you to Claire and her team for organising everything to make the day so special. Thank you. Mr and Mrs Borland.
On the 16th July we celebrated my wife's 70th birthday,at ullesthorpe court hotel,my wife had an idea of having a steel band playing in the garden with pimms and beers served to our guests,Claire and her team did everything possible to make this happen, the weather kept fine it was wonderful .At 8-15 we were shown into the Blaby suite, the staff again welcomed our guests with drinks, after the speeches we had the buffet ,we had great comments from our guests on the lovely food.36 of our guests stayed overnight Claire arranged a private room for us to have breakfast together just wonderful.Thank you Claire and Helen ,and thank your staff they were very polite and professional, thank you all for a unforgettable birthday.
Nice hotel friendly staff ate in restaurant on first night food and service was excellent good value for money didn't use the pool or spa but used the gym which was very well equipped for a hotel would definitely stay again:)
this was our third visit which tells you how good this hotel is. Clean, good sized rooms with lots of great extras. The staff are all helpful and very courteous without exception nothing is too much trouble and they genuinely make you feel cared for and welcome. The breakfast is perfect and very good quality with ample choice all round. The bar is clean and the service is great. Ample space in different areas to suit all needs as well as a quite lounge area with free computer should you require. Rooms good sized clean and very comfortable beds. Lots of little extras which were well appreciated like a fan for the hot weekend we enjoyed. Ample free car parking. We will definitely have a fourth visit.
Been here a few times before, as ever the golf course and hotel were excellent. 20 blokes playing golf for two days, the staff couldn't do enough for us, Ian O'Shea the night manager was a total star. The food, bar and all the facilities were top notch . Try it for yourself.
We attended the wedding of friends here on 15th July 2016. The location is lovely, with and excellent suite for weddings. The room was airy and bright and the decorations were superb. Following the wedding, a sumptuous buffet lunch was laid on which was outstanding. It comprised of a cold meat and fish buffet with salads, vegetables and wonderful cheeses. The desserts are to die for! The bar is reasonably priced with a good range of drinks to suit all, and the staff are polite, attentive and very, very professional. All in all, I would be happy to attend here again for a meal, and am contemplating an overnight or weekend stay to take advantage of the excellent gym and spa facilities. Well done Best Western Ullesthorpe Court!!!
Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. Well organised and clean room. Breakfast was pleasant and well stocked. Location added to the visit. There was a wedding on the Saturday afternoon/evening but are visit was not disturbed in anyway.
We wanted to stay close to home, and found Ullesthorpe Great Western to be just that place. Beautiful little hotel with adequate leisure facilities, the breakfast was spot on. We will be calling in again.
This was our 5th visit to this hotel and was still the most wonderful experience. If you want good food, excellent service and reasonable prices this is it. I particularly want to mention the staff, they are such a polite, helpful and happy team. Nothing was ever to much trouble, they all had lovely smiles and a warm disposition. My compliments to the management for running a happy ship. We will return!!
This is the best Hotel we have stayed in to date, Staff where very friendly, Room lovely, Food Excellent, Bar great, Spa was great to relax in. Location Excellent. I Tried to find something that could be improved. only thing !!! it Rained !!
This is our second visit to this wonderful hotel. We were a group of eight couples. The service, quality and friendliness hasn't changed. Nothing is a problem for the staff. It's always difficult to pick specific staff, but Sara the receptionist was particularly helpful. I must also mention Danielle who looked after us very well after our meal on Saturday night
We were so impressed with our wedding at Ullesthorpe hotel. We got married here on the 24th June and the staff were very helpful they couldn't do enough to help us. The food was amazing, accommodation in the bride and groom suite was out standing. We are still surprised at what we got for the cost. I would highly recommend an bride to go and view Ullesthorpe.
Me and my now husband got married here on 4th June and the day was far more amazing than we thought it would be and that was all because of Ullesthorpe. From the day we booked until we checked out the day after the wedding no one could do enough for us, any query we had on the lead up to the wedding was answered and nothing was to much trouble! I know they have a lot of weddings here but they made us feel like we were the only people to have ever gotten married here! :) Everyone has commented on how amazing the sit down meal was and the buffet in the evening, I had nothing to stress about on the day thanks to Claire. One guest who is only 2 fell sleep during the meal and once she woke up they kindly cooked a meal just for her and gave her ice cream for dessert, honestly nothing was any trouble to them. The rooms were clean and spacious there was enough room for me and my 3 bridesmaids to have our hair and makeup done. The private breakfast in the morning was a great way to end the celebrations. Thank you so much for making our day something we will treasure. (Especially Claire and Helen)
We arrived at this venue for our yearly jolly boys outing, and we were pleased with what we saw. We went into the golf bar and ordered breakfast which arrived and promptly filled us up. We went out onto the course and found it to be a testing course and fairly long, which suited some of our longer players. To be fair, it was a nice round of golf, with the two feature holes, the long 181 yd par 3 9th, and the par 5 18th where you shoot over the water to the final green. We returned to the hotel and went for dinner, which we had ordered earlier in the day. It was very nice, and then relaxed in the bar for the rest of the evening. The next day we awoke to rain, but we had a buffet breakfast first which was once again spot on. We asked if we could delay our tee times to see if the weather would improve. In the mean time a couple of frames of snooker drove away the boredom, although we could have used the leisure facilities. It came to a point when a decision had to be made, and some decided not to venture out in the rain and left for home. But the rest of us hardy souls decided to give the course a go in the rain. Fortunately as we reached the first green, the rain stopped and we had a cracking round with hardly anyone one the course. Overall all, the golf course is excellent, the hotel and rooms very clean, the staff were very good and helpful, and the food was superb. I would recommend this very nice venue to anyone we wants a short break, we didn't use the leisure facilities so can't comment on them, but we will consider coming back there next year. Just one sour point, the waiter we had serving us our dinner could do with some personal hygiene hints
A really enjoyable Spa day and excellent value for money, as it includes a treatment and tea of cakes and sandwiches which they were happy for us to have at lunchtime. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. It is quite compact so maybe best to visit during the week. The changing and treatment rooms are upstairs which could be a problem but perhaps there are such facilities downstairs if need be.
We had our wedding and evening reception at Ullesthorpe Court on 20th March 2016. The service we received from the day we had a look at the venue was second to none. All of our questions were answered and all further correspondence friendly, professional and prompt. Closer to the wedding date, all of the stress of the plans were taken from us by experienced wedding planners and the order of the day discussed with us in detail, making provisions for our many dietary requirements! The day itself was perfect. Claire was on hand all day to guide us through the proceedings, she dealt with every query or concern and her and her team worked tirelessly to deliver the best day and atmosphere we could ever have hoped for. We will be back on our anniversary. Thank you
We booked our wedding here and the day was a major succes 5/6/16 It was everything we were hoping for and more. The staff our amazing, helpful, friendly. The events team were superb. So very well organised I felt totally relaxed about the wedding as the events team had it all organised everything happened when it should and how it should.our wedding was a real success and it was because of this. Ullesthorpe court did the wedding we wanted that other hotels and venues wouldn't do. The wedding dinner was absolutely amazing food was first class. The hotel rooms were also very very good clean, modern and spacious ( the suite was perfect for bride and bridesmaids and then hairdressers and make up team to start the day with. Breakfast was very good plenty of selection. I ate at the restaurant the night with my family the night before again food was super and good value. The setting for wedding photos is ideal with the gardens and golf course views. I really recommend this hotel to any body looking for a wedding venue. We will definitely be returning for a weekend away in the near future. Thank you ullesthorpe court for giving me and my husband the most perfect wedding day.
The hotel was clean & comfortable. Use of the Leisure facilities was available but we did not have time to use them. Good value room rate with good sized comfortable rooms. Breakfast was good but thought it a bit pricey.
The welcome we received in the hotel was wonderful, the receptionist who checked us in was welcoming, chatty and informative. The room was clean and spacious, with tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and a fan, which you will need in the summer as this hotel has not been fitted with air-con! We had a DBB deal and had a wonderful meal included, no one could fault the standard of the food and we would definitely recommend eating at the hotel. The waitresses were polite and accommodating and brought our desserts and tea and coffee into the bar so we could watch the football. Again, brilliant service and quality of food. Having had a long day running in an event many of our group turned in for an early night. At 10pm the wedding disco was in full swing, which is fine, it is 10pm. However, once the windows were opened because it was so hot and there was no air con, we could even hear the lyrics to the music which meant it was loud. Luckily I had my trusty ear plugs and got some sleep. However not all our party were so prepared and had to endure the music till the very early hours, perhaps as late as 3am!! On check out the duty manager was not so apologetic and stated it was a wedding and some noise is to be expected. However since, apology letters have been sent by the Operations Manager to the affected people in our party and that it would be looked into. This shows the hotel is well managed and aim to deliver a high level of service. Breakfast was as you expect, English and Continental, though I found some items missing at 9:30am, half an hour before it was due to end. After getting a rough nights sleep, an early rise was not really an option, trying to savour the silence for a few more hours shut eye. Would I stay here again, yes without a doubt, but I would be double checking if a wedding was in place and would require a room as far away from the noise as possible. The service we received at this hotel was actually one of the best I have ever had and you only have to look at my reviews to see I have travelled a fair amount.
I stayed here recently for business. My company booked it for me and the impression was it was the best hotel in the area. Unfortunately, it did not stand up to my expectation. On arrival, the receptionist was without fault but once I entered my room, it went south.. There was a musty smell in the room, and the carpets were quite old looking. I got the impression that the bed hadn't been changed from the previous person as I found a brown chair pillow underneath the white bed pillows. I went downstairs and ordered a main course in the bar but couldn't eat it as it tasted foul. I went back to my room still hungry. I decided to have a shower before bed but the power in the shower was so bad that thankfully I didn't need to wash my long hair or i'd still be there washing the suds out. Breakfast was average. Not a huge selection, basic. Overall, I had a disappointing experience.
We love this hotel. In the last few years we have stayed here a dozen times. The staff are very friendly and will help you if you need assistance. We have stayed in all types of room, standard, superior and suite. All are well equipped. Our last visit was a superior room, this had a kettle with Tea & Coffee, bottled water and biscuits. A smart TV, free wifi, and iron with board. Plenty of drawers and cupboard space. A table and 2 chairs. There are 2 bars (1 attached to the golf club) The bar menu is good and there is a fine restaurant if you prefer. The facilities available in the leisure area include a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room are always used when we stay. My wife treated herself to massage in the Beauty Room while I played golf (reduced rates for hotel guests for a round of golf), the course is well maintained and challenging for my 23 handicap.. The hotel is a few miles off the A5 in a quiet rural spot, very idyllic for a leisure break.
I am writing this review following my wedding on April 16th 2016 at Ullesthorpe. From the very first meeting we had at the venue, we were very impressed kindness and professionalism shown by he staff. Not only did they help with sorting the venue they also gave information and contacts for involved in the rest of the wedding planning. They gave guidance and support throughout the whole process and always responded to any quieries we had no matter how small. In one of the meetings we had, we discussed all the details and how the day will progress. This helped us to understand what would happen on the day and to put our minds as rest as we knew everything was sorted. On the day the staff met us with red carpet and drinks even though we were ahead of schedule by 40 mins, which didn't phase them. We got shown the ashbey room, which was perfect and made sure everything was up to standards. The hotel and grounds looked beautiful and we managed to get lots of pictures including shots covering the golf course. The food was well presented and was excellent, the waiter service was superb. We also have a evening buffet for the evening do which was amazing and went down a treat. We chosen an upgraded superior room which was well maintained, large and beautiful. Also the other guests who stayed over also mention how good the rooms were and comfy the beds. In addition we had an excellent breakfast provided the next morning with just our wedding guests which was a nice touch. We would like to thank everyone involved at Ullesthorpe which helped make our wedding day extra special. We couldn't have asked for a better venue.
I am just back from a couple of days at this fantastic hotel and golf course. The hotel was brilliant we had some of the best food I have ever had at a hotel served with the best costumer service ever. The staff worked hard looked after us and made our stay really enjoyable. The golf was challenging and very enjoyable. Backed up with a well maintained course and topped with brilliant weather. The hotel is well recommended clear friendly and lovely staff. The food is just simply brilliant nothing to complain about loved every second of it. Will be back soon.
Took party of golfers for one night and two rounds of golf. all staff friendly and very well organised. Rooms were good and evening meal very good, breakfast is buffet style and was enjoyed by all. Good quality golf course on site with friendly clubhouse serving good food and real ale. This venue will definitely be considered for next years trip.
Stayed here for 3 nights,Staff all very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good lots of choice. only wish coffee was hot... Rooms very nice with nice soft bed and tea and coffee facilities and biscuits on tray every morning.would stay here again
Just spent a couple of nights here what a get find . My wife and I came down to the Crick boat show and spent two nights here . The room was good the meals in the restaurant were very good . The leisure centre which is free to guest was nice the golf course looked good . We had a very plesent weekend there .
Used many times at least three times a year for past eight years always have a great time and staff are excellent looking after guests and meeting all our requests allowing us to eat late on evening of arrival always always look forward to next visit
We had a nice freshly prepared light lunch in the light and airy bar. It was excellent value. The lady at the bar was very friendly. I have been a member of the leisure club at this hotel for over a year and the staff are always very helpful . I would recommend to all
My Association met here for our Annual Reunion and AGM. From start to finish all 60+ members and partners had a great time, good rooms, meals and service by all the staff. A couple of members disappointed that the golf course wasn't available. Better communication between the hotel and the golf club would have resolved the problem. However, another reunion to Ullesthorpe is planned for 2017.
I stayed here for 4 days. It was a lovely stay. Room was nice and spacious also kept very clean. Lots of room amenities, everything I used always got replenished. Nice swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Nice location but because it is literally in the middle of no where there was zero reception on my mobile phone, I had to keep it perched on the window just to get one bar reception. Food in the restaurant was lovely and fresh. Small issue with the food allowance. Wasn't specified that drinks was not included in the allowance so there was a charge that gets added to your room at check out but this was resolved swiftly and fairly by the staff. Free car park but beware the birds using cars as target practice.
What an amazing place. The room was clean and very comfortable. The bed was just soft enough and I slept very well. The food was excellent. I had steak on the first evening and salmon on the second evening - both were cooked exactly right. The plates were hot and the vegetables crunchy. The cooked breakfast was beautiful to look at and there was a wide selection. I liked the idea that I could make my own toast so was ready when I wanted it. There were 32 ladies so the staff really had their work cut out. Everything was done with a smile. The golf course was in good condition and we found the greens a little tricky. My electric trolley's axle broke on the 8th fairway. One call to the pro-shop and within 5 minutes I was brought a replacement trolley and mine was taken back. I fully expected to pay for this service and when I finished the round and went to say thank you and pay - I was told no charge. Courteous and polite and friendly from start to finish. Would recommend this hotel and golf course to everyone!
I stopped here for a night on business, the room was pleasant and clean, I had an evening meal in the hotel, starter, main and a coffee for under 20 quid which for what I received was excellent value for money. I went for a walk round the grounds which are beautifully situated. All in all very satisfied.
Visited for one night on a business trip, nice countryside location with large rooms. Staff were polite and friendly with plenty of rooms for meetings etc. onsite restaurant and bar. Breakfast included and whist there is a good choice, the standard cooked breakfast is kept warm under on a hotplate. Other items available at a surcharge.
My wife booked a one night stay here for my Birthday. Wow, what a surprise, they had upgraded us to an executive suite which was enormous! I didn't want to leave. Clean, well equipped and tucked away at the end of the hotel away from any corridor noise. The evening meal was excellent, a good choice and well cooked, fine dining on our doorstep! Leisure facilities are excellent and a golf course if you wish to partake.
I won a competition to come to the spa day, the staff were so friendly even ringing me two days before to confirm everything. Received a welcome pack and a tour. We had a lovely back massage, lunch and afternoon tea. The spa area was clean we used the pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Would have liked plastic bags in the changing room for wet costumes - other posh places I have been have provided them. A nice lounge quite area where you could put your feet up after having treatments would have been nice to - but that is just personal preference. My only criticism is the toilets, they smell clean but really need renovating.
I use this facility whenever I visit my office in Lutterworth, The tranquility and quality of the hotel coupled with the good service, excellent food and friendly staff make it an easy choice to return time after time. The attached golf course is also challenging if you are that way inclined, if not the the swimming pool is a lovely way to relax. Only thing I would say that could improve the hotel is the addition of a kettle for coffee in the rooms
Had a pretty awful piece of pork loin, tough enough that my supplied knife wouldn't cut it, so pointed it out to the server when she came over to ask how everything was. She did offer something else, but I declined as the rest of my party were already finishing their main course so it wouldn't have been nice to hold them all up while I ate alone. We'd had a 'special', with two course for £20, and I was a bit surprised to get a £20 bill for mine. I reminded her that I'd sent it back near untouched, and she said well I did offer you an alternative. I said I didn't have a main course so wasn't willing to pay for one, and with a theatrical sigh she played with some buttons on the till and pronounced my bill as £16 instead. "No, sorry, you don't charge £16 for starters do you?". I don't know what error she'd made, but I'm guessing she was charging for the main course and not the starter, but whichever it was I was very uncomfortable being challenged over it, and not at a quiet volume either. Eventually she decided my bill was £6, and I gave her a £20 note and told her I didn't want any change as I was not, as she seemed to think, trying to avoid paying a £20 bill but instead pointing out that my food wasn't great.
I stayed in this hotel about 5 years ago for a training course and was in residence for 5 days. The memory of that stay has always been an excellent one, the amazing food, the quiet calm location and the proximity to the training room I was in. This time I had concern at the back of mind that it may not live up to my memory. I was not disappointed in the least, in fact the bar area had been decorated and the hotel was thoroughly lovely. The food was still excellent, both in the bar and in the restaurant. I stayed this time from Sunday to Thursday (for another course) and was able to train at the gym, eat loads of amazing food and take in the beautiful country scenery. Every single member of staff was friendly and helpful and it made you feel quite at home.
We actually made this reservation last minute due to changes in travel plans. So glad we did. The hotel is located off the beaten path and you definitely need a car to get there. The rooms were fairly standard but did have some nice amenities in the bath. But what really made this visit was the outstanding staff. From the reception staff, to a helpful porter, to the wait staff in the dining and breakfast area they were warm and engaging.
We went to ullesthorpe court for afternoon tea fantastic afternoon we took some very good friends.from the moment we arrived it was great, the staff made us welcome.they showed us to the table in the bar area, they brought out the tea & coffee and sandwiches & cakes.the sandwiches were fresh salmon, egg cress, ham with mustard chicken & cranberry sauce, they were all very nice.the best part for me the cakes and scones, the scones came with so much clotted cream and jam first class, the other cake were good.
Stayed for one night in a suite (well worth the extra money). The room was spacious 2 smart TVs with Sky Sports. Tassomo with pods a nice extra. Bed very comfy. Had a meal in the bar, very good quality & value. Try the carvery on Sunday's. Bar staff are very pleasant & attentive. Breakfast excellent. Didn't have time to use leisure facilities overall a perfect quiet enjoyable stay.
Stayed one night for business (Thursday 05/05/2016). Nice country setting on the edge of Lutterworth village. Lovely hotel with some, apparently recently refurbished areas. Nice and clean throughout. The staff here are exceptional: very pleasant and nothing too much bother. The Woodland Restaurant: Good service from nice and attentive staff. The food was delicious and very well presented. I had the asparagus with poached egg and mayonnaise, and then the Dover sole with prawns and lemon butter. The room I had was on the top floor at the back of the hotel, overlooking a very pretty garden (I'm sure I saw a juvenile peacock walking around). Very clean and comfortable room, and with coffee/tea making facilities. Some nice walks around the area as well. Would I stay here again? If I'm in the area, I won't go past this place.
Very pleasant hotel easy to find lovely country base just outside village of Ullesthorpe, room very clean and comfortable , Food in bar good plenty of room to sit, restaurant in the evening very good food and service,
Stayed here for two nights on a business trip and had a thoroughly pleasant stay. From arrival to check out all staff members were friendly, polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was lovely and a good size, with a lovely view of the garden (308). the bathroom clean and modern and an extra bonus was the TV positioned so that I could watch it whilst soaking in the bath! Extra touches such as bottled water provided in the room make all the difference. My only quibble was that the room was very hot at night but not much you can do in a building of that age and a fan was provided. We ate dinner in the restaurant on both evenings and couldn't fault the food, it was delicious. I have to eat gluten free and the staff went out of their way to provide allergen information and adapt dishes to ensure that I could have almost anything on the menu. I was well provided for at breakfast, lunch and dinner and I even had gluten free chocolate brownie :) Having had a poor experience at another 4 star hotel recently this hotel confirmed to me that the other hotel fell far below the standard you would expect of a 4 star hotel where as this hotel met and exceed my expectations. Amazing value for money.
Visited on a single night stay whilst working in area. Lovely setting with good facilities. They place was clean and we'll presented. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The room was very nice too with all the facilities you would expect. Definitely worth staying cost was approx £85 for night stay with breakfast and also included evening meal why h I had in the bar which was happily just added to the bill. There is also a nice a la carte restaurant for the special occasion.
A visit here gives you lots of option for things to do. Coventry and Leicester no more than 40mins away with loads of Shops and Museums.(Transport museum amazing) Twycross Zoo not to far away also. Hotel carvery on Sunday(when main restaurant not open) was the best carvery we have ever had and at such a reasonable price,Tapas on Saturday night pretty good too. NIce walks on hand out sheet from reception but note add nearly 2 miles if starting from hotel.Very quiet in our room even though weddings on each of our 3 nights so a brilliant weekend break.
We went as 2 couples for a midweek golf/spa break and were very impressed. The room was comfortable, with an extremely comfortable bed. All facilities we needed, a quiet ground floor room. Food was amazing, excellent dinner menu, spoilt for choice. Breakfast also very good, with the bonus of excellent fried bread! The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. Golf course was interesting and enjoyable though we couldn't play more than 14 holes due to wind, rain and snow! The pool and jacuzzi are good, and I had an excellent back massage. Would recommend!
We had a great time at the Best Western Ullesthorpe, the room was clean and comfy, tea and coffee - there was a notice saying just ask if you want a jug of milk, so I did and within a few minutes a man brought some up, hairdryer, iron, toiletries all supplied. We stayed in Room 204 and had a nice view of the garden. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The entertainment was great and the evening dinner was lovely, as was the breakfast. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.
Ullesthorpe Court Hotel is an excellent place to stay in that part of the world. it is very comfortable and well equipped property The bed was comfortable. There was a Thrush singing its spring song first thing in the morning
Staff are good. Pool on site is pretty good too. Hotel is tired tho, carpets in the room and common areas. The computer system crashed when we were there. Dinner and breakfast were cheap and good quality. Good and plentiful parking. And nice quiet location. Good value but average accommodation.
Beautifully peaceful surroundings in rolling countryside & an excellent centre for touring the Midlands (John Lewis, in Leicester, was my wife`s favourite site!). Comfortable, spacious, quiet room (1st floor) overlooking a very attractive garden with plenty of birdlife. The hotel is next to the golf course (no information on that as I don`t play) which ensures plenty of attractive `greenery`. Evening meals were first-rate but the buffet breakfasts not so good (kept warm for too long). Excellent, friendly staff made sure we had all the help we needed. We would certainly stay here again.
My partner and I were very impressed by this hotel. Staff very friendly and attentive and, even though very busy with a wedding, they spent time and effort making sure we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food in the restaurant was superb and breakfast the follwing morning just as enjoyable. Will definitely return at first opportunity.
We went to Ullesthorpe Court as wedding guests. It was very busy but plenty of staff to cope. The staff are friendly, smiling and look like they want to be there. The food at the reception which can be so bland was excellent. Breakfast the following morning was at the same high standard. There was plenty of parking and the suite we were in was a treat. Try to get room 328 it's very spacious and the bed is unbelievably comfortable. You could hold a party in the en suite bathroom. We loved it!
This hotel was very good value with breakfast included. The hotel was busy due to the leisure amenities but not noisy. Lots of places to socialise if you wished . Located in a quiet part of the country but near to all necessary facilities.
Stayed a couple of nights for my wife's birthday. Great rural location but a lively atmosphere. Did not use adjoining golf course but grounds were lovely to walk through. rooms were typical Best Western. Breakfast was good as was dinner on one evening
We stayed here for 2 nights with friends. We absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend it. The tapas in the bar on Friday and Saturday nights are especially delicious. We have 3 children between us and they had a great time using the pool, although a little on the small side, it was very clean. Rooms were spotless and beds so comfy. Although there was an 18th birthday disco whilst we were there we had no noise when we returned to our rooms. Great place too had a lovely afternoon in Lutterworth village.
Excellent hotel good food and comfy rooms. All the staff are happy and seem to enjoy working here. Bar prices a bit expensive but perhaps I'm being fussy. Had a great nights sleep even though I was in a single bed. Rooms could do with brighter décor but were very very very very (ive got to get to 200 characters) clean.
We recently booked a family celebration at Ullesthorpe Court for my mothers 80th birthday. From our initial contact with the hotel the staff here were professional, friendly and really helpful. There were 20 of us and everyone of us felt the rooms were, clean, comfortable and a really good size we stayed in room 328 a suite which was huge and the bed one of the best we have slept in. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were so helpful and friendly . We were given a private function room for the celebration which was particularly nice for the family who hadn't all been together for years. One member of staff Joe deserves a particular mention a real star - nothing was too much trouble for him and he worked so hard for hours making sure our every need was attended too. Cant praise this hotel enough and highly recomend a visit
Got to say for a small private party of about 20 this takes some beating. Food was absolutely beautiful and staff were very friendly especially in reception and the leisure club. Only improvement was we seemed to be unnecessarily rushed out of the private dining room into the general bar which effectively signalled the end of our night....not quite sure why as the room could easily have been set up up in 30 minutes in the morning. Rooms are very reasonably priced and equipped would recommend.
31/03/16 Turned up and had drinks in the bar area this is very nicely decorated and the service was very good from the bar staff to the restaurant, Food was very good, will try the Sunday dinner next time.
Had a great 3 night break over Easter 2016.. Perfect in every way. Would highly recommend. I stay in BW hotels all the time and this one is the best I have stayed in. We wanted a relaxing break where we felt we were receiving high standards at a fare rate. Will be going back.
Working here as a photographer for Matt & Steph's wedding and its a nicely maintained hotel in a lovely secluded location. Really helpful and chatty staff who were always on hand to help in anyway required. Food was great and not overpriced. The wedding organiser worked really hard on the day to make everything perfect for the couple so full marks all round!
Lovely rooms, excellent customer service and great food - we stayed for two nights for a wedding last week and really enjoyed the whole experience. Right from the start we were made to feel welcome and the room was very comfy with some lovely extra touches - and the breakfast was the best I've had in a hotel in a long time. The wedding itself was really well organised and the food lovely. All in all we were really impressed!
My Daughter and Son in Law held their wedding here yesterday. It was the most amazing experience. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The Banqueting Manager and her staff were excellent, as were all the staff in the hotel. The food was excellent both in the day and for the evening, and breakfast today was also excellent with plenty of choice. All the usual stresses of a wedding day were taken away for us, which enabled us and especially the Bride and Groom to enjoy their special day. I really can't recommend this hotel enough. Thank you to all the staff who helped make it a very special day.
Just returned after an amazing experience, my friends wedding. Everything from the ceremony to the evening reception was perfect. Beautifully decorated, delicious food and excellent staff....what more could you ask for? Nothing could have been improved. We had an over night stay, the room and facilities were excellent and the breakfast was excellent too! Thank you for making a very special day one we will remember and cherish for a very long time.
The Court has recently started doing Tapas on Friday and Saturday nights in the Lincoln Bar. We went last Friday on their opening night and it was that good that we went again last night! Excellent service from very friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food was divine. Good portion sizes and a great variety of dishes to suit all our party. Thoroughly recommend.
Spent a weekend here, staff were very obliging and friendly. Bedroom was on the 3rd floor, end of corridor, lovely and quiet even though there was a wedding on the Saturday night. The room was well decorated and spotlessly clean. My wife is a vegetarian and the restaurant manager arranged for these to be prepared. Would certainly return.
I would recommend this hotel. The staff look after you well and the food in the bar is good. The rooms are clean and spacious and there are basic leisure facilities which are free to use by hotel residents. The B & B rate represents excellent value for money. The hotel is in a rural location and is in a beautiful setting. I'm not a golfer, but there is also a golf course open to residents. A fabulous place to stay.
This hotel is above and beyond the most friendliest hotel I have had the pleasure of staying in. We went for a two night stay on B&B and could not fault anything from the first moment we met the receptionists until we left. The staff were absolutely wonderful, always had a smile and were exceedingly polite. The breakfasts were plentiful, tasty and unhurried. The swimming pool was a good size but I did not have the time to partake of it. The surroundings were well kept and golf was available for the residents. My room was clean and tidy as well as ironing facilities, tea, coffee ,biscuits and even drinking chocolate. Plenty of parking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a wonderful quiet relaxing break in the countryside.
Excellent food, very tasty (the mushroom and creamy garlic bruschetta a real must) and great portions with a friendly and helpful atmosphere. Will definitely recommend to family and friends and plan to go again in the near future.
We went to Ullesthorpe Court for the Sunday carvery. The bar has had a lick of paint and a bit of a restyle, drink selection is a little limited but I suppose that's the chain and because it's a hotel. The carvery was ok, we timed it right as a new joint of beef had just been bought out, the other meats were turkey and pork. All ok, all cooked well and warm, the veg selection was good. I'm not a great fan of the carvery but for £16 for 3 courses it was ok. Room could do with a bit of a restyle as it does feel like your in an old peoples home.
Arrived late evening still ample parking and welcomed by reception staff. Completed sign in given information on bar and breakfast arrangements. Room clean and tidy great to see hot chocolate available as well as standard coffee and tea along with biscuits. Bar has good food available along with so offers. Hotel has great facilities swimming pool, Gym and others. Great breakfast read for a long day ahead. Would recommend staying at this hotel.
We came last night for our father's 90th birthday meal. Excellent food and wonderful staff, nothing too much trouble, it couldn't have been better. Thank you Ullesthorpe Court, a fabulous evening, we will definitely come again. Service with a smile xx
Stayed at this hotel sat night ang had a very. Pleasant stay rooms were nice and spacious food was good especially breakfast golf was ok the course was not in great condition caught it at the wrong time really but could not fault the hotel and staff
This is a nice hotel in a good part of the area, good location for main business parks and main motorways. I think the hotel needs a face lift in some areas, but has a good bar and restaurant area. Plenty of car parking in site. The staff were friendly and helpful.
This hotel is the best Best Western we have visited from the reception staff to the house keeping staff all so friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious well equipped and modern. The standard of cleanliness was superb. We had an afternoon tea which consisted of outstanding home made pastries and cakes. Breakfast staff were very attentive and the range of food options were brilliant and to a high standard. We would definatly revisit and reccomend. Thank you
Nice room, comfy bed and nice and warm on arrival. The breakfast was nice, good choice and nice setting. The staff could be nicer seemed distracted and when I had an issue there was no apology or empathy. Hotel could do with a refurb although first hotel I have seen with a smart tv
Just home from B&B Evening meal two rounds of golf at Ullesthorpe Court Hotel.. First impressions driving in the gate this place locks tired and run down could do with a lick of paint on the outside.. Once inside......... Well where do i start the staff were amazing couldn't do enough for you, Good hot clean room .. As for the evening meal it was just 5* i asked to speak to the chef when leaving the restaurant..I shook his hand and thanked him personally,, Charles thank you again.. Excellent place to stay and play golf ,, We will come back again very soon THANK YOU.
An excellent small (ish) leisure and golf hotel. All staff most helpful and it was nice to be recognised during our return visits. Very good leisure facilities with a very good golf course with challenging greens. We will definitely be returning and thank the staff for their extremely friendly and welcoming interaction with guests. We only had breakfasts this time, but well up to usual good standard with special; requests provided promptly. Look forward to our next stay. Probably one of their excellent theme nights.
Only reviewing restaurant. Went for Sunday lunch. Very friendly and professional staff. Lunch splendid. Good menu based around a carvery. All courses quality food well presented. We had the included coffee served in the bar afterwards. can't fault it. A real sense of occasion for a Sunday lunch out. Very good value. Book it. Try it!
Excellent valentine meal the food was sublime and the service first class. We stayed over night with a free upgrade the room was good the staff lovely and friendly.we came to the Panto at Christmas which was also very good and the food and service excellent they really looked after our party of nine we will return.
A little worried on arrival that the exterior looks a little dated and tired and I have had some average experiences in Best Western before. Once inside however it all changed. Pleasant staff, modern decor, a big superior room (although not sure what makes it above a standard), clean and well cared for. Clean and decent leisure facilities add to the positive experience with a good sized pool at the heart of them. Breakfast very good with good variety but the bar prices are a little steep.... Location is good and overall I would rate this as a decent place to stay.
I went with a friend to have a spa day with afternoon tea, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was lovely, my only criticism was why would they serve odd numbers of sandwiches and cakes to two guests? A most enjoyable day nonetheless.
Enjoyed another visit to Ullesthorpe Court today - an Afternoon Tea treat for me and my better half. We were extremely happy (as we always are when visiting the hotel) with the welcome, the staff, the food and the relaxed friendly ambience. The afternoon tea is great value for money and delicious. Lots of choice - lots of delicious home made delights. I hear the team at the hotel recently won a Best Western Customer Service award - and thoroughly deserved too. You will not get better service anywhere in the area. Well done to you all! We will definitely be back (very soon)
There are not many occasions that I can say I have stayed in absolutely outstanding hotel. Everything was just perfect, and if it was not then the staff ensured they would go out of the way to help. My husband was teaching so this hotel was organised by a third party. We were given a superior room with dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was large, bright ,airy and exceptionally clean with added touches of complementary toiletries and essentials. The bed linen seemed to be of an excellent quality with a comfy bed. Coffee and tea making facilities, fan etc. I used the leisure facilities which although quite small were equally clean and sufficient. Unfortunately the Jacuzzi was out of action so I was a little disappointed over that. The food was absolutely gorgeous and consequently I gorged myself with three courses for dinner making myself suffer in result. We were not aware that the main restaurant was closed on a Sunday evening, has reception had not informed us and in view that the weekend was arranged by a third party we had no previous knowledge. My husband questioned the bar and restaurant manager and we were informed that all meals were subsequently being served in the bar area. However the manager Joe O'Leary must receive our great appreciation and thanks for his excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble for him ensuring that we had everything we needed and providing us with our favourite menu. He also treated us with utmost respect and had a really genuine cheery friendly attitude. Behind the scenes the chef's expertise in cooking the food was tremendous . Our steaks on Saturday evening were cooked to our preference and of exceptional quality and taste.. Even the crockery the food was served on was a high standard. Breakfast was equally as good with a wide choice of menu. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I could not fault this hotel at all . So much attention to detail and I cannot wait to return again. By far one of the best or if not the best hotel I have stayed in! Well done Ullesthorpe Court Hotel.
We have live within 4 miles of Ullesthorpe Court for more than 30 years and had dined there a few times many years ago. But we stopped going because the standards had deteriorated so much. So to go back with another couple recently was a bit of a risk, they assured us it was worth a try. They were absolutely correct. We all had a very good meal, although the service was a bit tardy the food was excellent. It's definitely worth a try and we will be going again.
As I am fairly local I didn't stay in the hotel but I just wanted to thank Hannah for the amazing hot stones massage I had today. It was wonderful and sooo relaxing. Anyone who hasn't tried a hot stone massage, treat yourself, it's fab. It is the most thorough massage I have ever had.
This hotel is quite close to home, I booked a special price 'Superior' room for a Thursday anniversary surprise. Good bits... good 'Special' price, nice location, good facilities... not so good bits... Bottle in the room surprise didn't happen, even though I'd phoned that day and was assured it was no problem, we did get the bottle of fizz complimented for diner so I guess that was OK. Diner was OK, steak a bit chewy... we opted for veg not chips, and were brought out 3 dishes - 2 of new potatoes... around 25 of them. We were told that there were not many booked in (true) so the chef sent out all they had prepared... even I couldn't eat that many... I felt that we were given them just for the kitchens benefit rather than anything 'special' for the meal. The bar is OK, business travelers so not exactly 'cosy', and the usual bar prices for a place in the middle of no-where with no competition. The room was fine, I am not sure what made it 'Superior'. Breakfast.. the buffet was a bit tired by the time we got to it, the separate order of freshly prepared poached eggs seemed to take a long time, and came out like bullets... the guy on the next table had the same and they came out fine, I guess ours was 'forgotten'... if the chef knew they were hard why send them out? Overall, this hotel promises a lot, and has the potential, but a series of let downs didn't endear me to booking again or recommending it. Could anything be guaranteed? - you won't starve, dies of thirst or cold, but overall very average.
Fantastic hotel will the most loyal and fantastic staff. The only flaw was the food as it was not up to the standard of the hotel and staff. The staff could not do more for you and obviously a nice place to work. The food was microwaved and the rice was hard and stuck together. It is a shame as if the food had been at the standard of the hotel then this hotel would be up with the best.
Just returned from a weekend break here, I can't complement the hotel enough. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to talk to and welcome you. We had meals in both the restaurant and bar and the quality of food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The choice on offer for breakfast was amazing, you really couldn't ask for any better. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and also very quiet, we had two great nights sleep. We enjoyed our time in the leisure complex and found the facilities very good. We can't wait to come back.
What a pleasure to stay in this hotel, it's spoiled me for any others now and I arrange my stays to coincide with availability! The bar has theme nights for food but the restaurant is well worth a visit - what a hidden gem - phenomenal food
Been coming here for a few years now as a member of the Leisure Club. The facilities are very good. The gym is well equipped and the swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi are well looked after. The steam room in particular is lovely with a smell of menthol. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too, much trouble for them. The changing rooms are upstairs near the gym, and can get quite crowded sometimes. There are two hot showers in the main changing room, with two hair dryers in and across the corridor is a family changing room with another two showers and hair dryers in.
I stayed at this hotel on business and what can I say.... Superb staff, who clearly have been well trained and come across as very organised. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, and a real asset to the business. Rooms are of good quality and size, equipped with smart tvs too. The rooms were also very clean and well serviced. Staying on business can sometimes be a bit daunting when on your own but the bar area was very pleasant and I was made to feel welcome. Food was great too. A wonderful gem in the best western portfolio.
Very friendly welcome, comfy bed and large room, bathroom had bath as well as shower, very clean. Good choice of food and relaxing atmosphere in bar/lounge. Lovely peaceful setting will definately stay here again.
I booked this hotel based on its location as I had to stay overnight in the area for a family event......being a member of Best Western Rewards I got a twin room for under £45 B&B! I must admit that although it is a Best Western Plus property, and the reviews were good, I wondered how good it could be at that price. A good car park with a well staffed reception was reassuring ..... A complimentary upgrade to a double was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is well maintained ( none of the shabbiness that one sometimes finds) with a good sized, well staffed, bar, Restaurant etc. The place was fairly busy and clearly had a combination of relatively local and distant guests. My room was large, well equipped and maintained with a comfortable bed. I had dinner in the bar, as I was on my own, and both food and service were good......my one criticism is that when I came to pay, an 8oz Rump Steak ( with the trimmings) with a side order of peas, came to just under £25 .......... More than I've paid in some 'fancy' restaurants! So......a really good example of the small, provincial hotel with excellent, professional staff and comfortable rooms, but watch the Rump Steak in the bar....it's a bit expensive.!
Stayed at this hotel a couple of times on business, the staff are polite and friendly, the gym well equipped and the rooms clean and comfortable. I cannot comment on the food as I chose to eat elsewhere.
A great hotel and staff which you can't fault. Excellent customer service unfortunately too cold for the golf course ! Will continue to come back here and always recommend to friends. Great smiley staff eager to please !
Maybe I'm in the wrong age bracket... I don't know... Perhaps I expect too much. The GPS to postcode isn't exact, but, you'll either pass it before, or find it a few hundred meters past. Arriving in the dark, beware the entrance with bollards (Which therefore isn't an entrance), there's a certain expectation that you must know what your doing, and where your going, before you arrive - a feature which ranks highly on this location. Parking is good, and ample. My visit on a weekend, there weren't many people about - but, if this place were ever at full capacity, I think this may change. Reception is clearly marked, entry through a single point door - bit of a man test with bags in tow. There's clearly been some refurbishment - mainly with furnishings, but, it's a half effort. The old decor creeps from underneath. The exterior appears to need some real tlc. The receptionist was real good. Clear instructions, and very friendly. I booked in with ease, and looked forward to the evening meal. Heading for the room, the corridors were totally dated, Some thought is needed here. New carpets, some colour coordination and better placed decor would suit well. The room itself had a lot of thought - but, that thought again was misplaced, and a half effort to renovation was clear. The door to the room, and bathroom were possibly origional 70's brown, and just mank. I noticed newer doors further down the corridor - wish I had one of those rooms! The colour scheme is well out. A tinge of brown - or perhaps too much brown. Two single beds take up the room, if this were a double, life would be much better. Learning curve for me. The bathroom was superb. Heated floor I think. Plenty of guest consumables. The tea facilities marvelous - if you can find them. A easter egg hunt has to occur to find it - hidden away in a cupboard. TV and internet available. Going for dinner was the biggest disappointment, and totally shaped the negative view of this site. The restaurant doesn't open on a Sunday so it would appear, so bar meals and a carvery in the bar are available. This is where total guesswork is required. I've never been made to feel as uncomfortable in an eatery as I did that night. Although I'm sure it wasn't the intent of the barman, I felt almost ridiculed in the bar - because I didn't know the process to get fed. The carvery wasn't good at all. Vegetables undercooked, beef raw, roast potatoes, anything but, and cola, flat. I just ate. It's all I needed to do, and went to bed. The morning was the saving grace. Breakfast was 9/10. Failing factor - quality of sausage was questionable. Everything else good. The morning service waiter was really cheerful, very professional, and made a much better ambassador for the hotel. There are mixed feelings about this site. I think if I were in retirement, this would be a favoured spot. Perhaps if I was here midweek, or any other weekend, again, I could have had a better stay. It doesn't help I was in a brand new hotel on the nights previous - which was outstanding - this totally will have swayed my opinion.
Used this place again as a New Years Eve meeting ground with a number of friends and our associated hoard of children. Yet again the staff couldn't have been better - we were remembered from our previous visits and they had already taken care of some of the details even before we arrived (such as remembering to reserve an area for us for breakfast - 17 isn't easy to sit en masse). As helpful and good natured as ever during the course of the evening. Would definitely recommend.
Made very welcome at reception. Room was excellent. Wedding organisation was first class - the Blaby Suite was magnificent. Food was delicious and well served.Evening entertainment and buffet was just superb.
Fantastic hotel. Breakfast amazing. The best breakfast I have had in any establishment. Rooms and facilities top notch. Would defiantly visit again. Spa facilities are my cup of tea. Food is exceptional with nice dining atmosphere.
went to the hotel on fri 31st dec, arrived and had a light lunch then got ready for evening meal in the restaurant followed by dancing to disco in golf bar. Stayed over in standard double room and then finished off with breakfast before leaving. Food in restaurant excellent, staff very helpful and friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. A very enjoyable stay, made very welcome.
Stayed one night whilst visiting relatives. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was a suite and was very spacious and well furnished. We ate in the bar area in the evening and had breakfast and have no complaints. The room was great value for money.Would strongly recommend.
Cant fault the value for money you get here. I went here on a works Christmas do, the staff were friendly, the food was great and the rooms were really clean and tidy. We didn't get chance to use the spa though. They even made me a special sandwich at 1am after our party...when I had a few vodka's! Cant fault it at all, and its in a really nice location.
Great place to stay, in the country, with a golf club. Large rooms with all needed amenities Food is great, in the restaurant and in the pub. People at the desk, restaurant or elsewhere are very helpful. Parking and wifi available.
Stayed for one night while working nearby in Leicester. Booked through booking.com and for just over £50 for the room I thought the hotel was extremely good value. Greeting at reception was very pleasant and quick. The room was very big and well furnished and in good order, although was the usual hotel thing of been too warm. Breakfast was also very nice, staff were attentive and food was again good quality. A good stay and will book again in new year.
So here we are in December again and after attending the panto lunch event last year and enjoying it so much had no hesitation in booking again this year on this Xmas eve eve. £22.95 got us a 3 course lunch with coffee and mints and panto entertainment. Again a couple of starter choices, we all had the minestrone soup, which was tasty. A couple of mains, two of us had chicken stroganoff with rice which was delicious. Roast potatoes and mixed veg were also served to the table. The others didn't fancy that so requested plain chicken when booking and the hotel duly obliged and all commented how nice it was. Eve's pudding followed which again was lovely. Our only criticism was that we had only just been served coffee/tea when we were requested to make our way upstairs for the panto. We then had to rush to drink up which spoilt the relaxed atmosphere that we had experienced. All the waiting staff were professional and friendly and served our food quickly and efficiently. There were only 4 actors in the panto company playing all the characters with only a small set, but they were very professional and entertaining. Just a note to say last year I went after Xmas which I have to say I preferred and if they do it next year I would look into booking again.
Great location with a character building that is decorated tastefully ... We want for a works Xmas party and the staff were friendly and helpful... The food was good and plentiful .... I can't think of any downsides really... Thanks for a great night x
First room I was given was like walking into an ashtray. Was assigned another room and room had cobwebs dangling from the ceiling and around the radiator. Wish I hadn't put on the bright lights. Very little to choose from on menu as a vegetarian. I would stay again because of business and is close to where I need to be, but would not stay there otherwise.
I took my parents to Ullesthorpe Court for a carvery meal to celebrate my father's 87th birthday. We didn't book, but was assured on arrival that a table for 3 was no problem. There appeared to be wedding guests in the bar/restaurant area but we were assured that they would be going upstairs for the ceremony at 1pm. In fact they monopolised the area and made a lot of noise. They did leave for the ceremony but returned in 30 minutes for the reception - again making a lot of noise. The meal was mean: 2 slices of turkey and a choice of two badly cooked vegetables (plus potatoes)with strange tasting gravy. There are much better and more generous carveries to be had locally. The service was average - there was no one at the carvery when we arrived (at 12.30 ish) and the staff were understandably occupied with the wedding party. I cannot understand why the hotel allowed 'ordinary' guests to play gooseberry at a wedding. The experience was not enjoyable. I did attend a Christmas party there a week later which was an improvement, although I think the food is generally overrated and rather pricey.
This is a great place to stay if needing a hotel in the South Midlands. Really helpful and friendly staff, quiet rooms even though there were functions on each night and very good value. Food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent
Ideally situated for our friends who live locally, we stayed 5-6 Dec. We arrived early and the room was ready which was great. We had lunch which was fine and a drink in the bar. The room and decor was basic to be honest and the doors along the corridor clunked on closing every time. The smart to couldn't be worked too. The bar area was nicely decorated and had some nice Xmas decor up too. There was a wedding party in but we didn't hear them. We had breakfast the Sunday and this was fine, the food wasn't piping hot though and there were hot heavy iron type lids to lift for each element of breakfast. The tea and coffee was however piping hot. We used the leisure facilities and again dated. Some money needs spending and soon on the changing rooms/showers in particular. It was nice to chill though and the sauna/steam were good. It's possibly a 3.5 but the staff were very friendly and the Xmas decor was pretty good ! The bed was too bouncy and the pillows / choice poor. We would return all in all and the location is great for us. Lots of countryside around too. With investment this place has the potential to get to a 5.
We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of November 2015. Due to a wedding party reserving the 4 suites on the Saturday night , we booked a Superior room for 1 night and a Suite for the Sunday night. The staff were very helpful and arranged a seamless transfer between the 2 rooms for us. We ate dinner at the main restaurant on the Saturday night and in the Lincolns Brasserie on the Sunday night. Both meals were very enjoyable, as was breakfast on both mornings. All of the staff were very warm and friendly throughout our stay and both rooms were clean with good facilities - the suites are well worth the extra cost - one of the best we have stayed in. All in all a highly recommended hotel.
My daughter was married at the hotel on friday 27th Nov. From the moment we arrrived we were greeted by friendly staff who could not do enough for us. But the person whom we would really like to thank was Claire the wedding coordinater she goes above and beyond just to ensure everything is perfect and I can assure you it was. Cant thank everyone enough. Would highly recommend to anyone.
I have enjoyed staying at this hotel for over 30 years (on Business) and since retiring have also visited and used as a base for exploring the local area. The hotel provides very good accommodation and your are always garenteed a friendly welcome . Food is very good and it's a fantastic venue for a golfing weekend as they have an 18 hole course which is very challenging and kept in fantastic condition . I would strongly recommend just for the golf. On our last visit in October we booked a suite and were not disappointed the first night we had something to eat in the bar but we were looking forward to enjoying a meal in the resteraunt for my partners birthday . On this front we were very disappointed at being told a party had taken over the resteraunt for the Saturday night which somewhat spoil tour visit if we went out to local resteraunt I would have been unable to have a drink due to driving so again we had something to eat in the bar which was a million miles from what I wanted for my partners special day. Otherwise the hotel is maintained to a very high standard , three room types basic, superior and suits so your choice but all rooms are good. We will be returning when visiting the area agai but hope the resteraunt has not been taken over again
Amazing hotel, warm and friendly. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Room clean, good bed and pillows. Great shower. Good range of free goodies. Biscuits lovely. Had an evening meal in bar, can recommend the fish burger, didn't like the coleslaw. Had a very good nights sleep. Very quiet. Breakfast is one of the best we have had, great quality and lots of choice. Can't wait for our next stay ??
Attended a wedding here last weekend, which was well organised. The room where the ceremony took place had a vaulted ceiling ( think that's what it's called), which made the room a bit more interesting and attractive. The food served was lovely, all served together. The evening buffet was also good. The only negative to the actual wedding was the dj, he wasn't very amenable to requests. The room we stayed in was clean comfortable and we had everything we needed. The pool spa area was nice, clean and friendly. All in all good stay all staff couldn't do enough for you. Thankyou
I stayed here with some colleagues and had a brilliant stay. The staff are amazing, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Set in tranquil surroundings with a really good bar and great restaurant - the food is traditional British and packed full of flavour. I would definitely recommend this hotel as an alternative to bigger hotels nearby as it is so welcoming.
I requested a quiet room, having read previous reviews. Normally the hotel accommodates and all is fine. Not here! When I rang the front desk to enquire about when the disco would end, I was told 1am. I then informed the night porter that I was extremely disappointed as I requested a quiet room when I booked, to which he replied, "I'm sorry, I cannot help you." You have been warned, requesting a quiet room will not hel!
Stayed here for a wedding, staff very friendly courteous and we'll trained they all greet you as you walk around the hotel and generally do everything they can to make your stay as good as possible, great housekeeping team who keep the rooms spotless our room was a superior room with plenty of room , bar food and leisure facilities are excellent this hotel is well worth a visit
Great friendly place to stay . All the staff are very friendly and willing to help. Bar food is very good and within my expense budget (good nightly deals). Leisure facilities are very good. Only thing that would improve the place would be moving away from buffet breakfast . This can be hit and miss depending on the time you go down for breakfast .
Staed at this hotel for a night this week on business. The hotel is lovely. Its clea and tidy, the bedrooms are nice. The staff at this hotel are wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the bar area was really nice, i was there on the 'pizza' night and it really was gorgeous. The ONLY thing i would add though is that the hotel should look at putting aircon in the rooms or a fan, i know its nearly winter but this could be an idea for next year.
Excellent value (less than a third of what we paid for a night in Harrogate) for an overnight stay - good sized room, clean, comfortable bed, pleasant view of garden from bedroom window. Rural location (golf course and conference venue) so took time to find it on a foggy evening.
We were attending a function at Kilworth House and decided to stay over at Ullesthorpe Court instead of driving back to Birmingham. We last stayed here 8 years ago and I did wonder if this hotel had kept up the high standards it had then. I need not have worried. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the friendly staff at reception and to our lovely room I felt happy and content. This is a great hotel, v clean, really welcoming staff and great beds. Had a lovely nights sleep. As mentioned in some of my previous reviews, for me, its the little things in hotel rooms that make a difference eg. a note on the tea making facilities that if you would prefer fresh milk (instead of the little plastic tubs of milk) then just ring down to reception and they will supply it - keep up the good work, we will be back
As an occasion business visitor here over a good number of years, it's been a real pleasure to see this hotel develop into such a tremendous place to stay. The location is a little off the beaten track, but navigate your way down the lanes, watch out for the fact that some sat navs will mislead you slightly, and you'll find a clean, well decorated and furnished hotel with large comfortable rooms and very friendly and efficient service. The highlight of this visit was the restaurant dinner. Perfect duck liver pâté was served with a fine onion marmalade, just sweet enough to add piquancy without threatening the pâté's flavour, and a warm toasted brioche offered the perfect means of lifting each mouthful off the plate. Salmon on just-off-crisp asparagus in a delicate butter sauce and with a mound of smooth creamed potato could not have been better done (it would be churlish to point out that the vegetables which came separately were just a tiny fraction overdone). A soft and textured steamed pudding with marmalade and smooth, perfectly-sweetened custard rounded the meal off. Service was prompt and efficient (though a quick brief to the serving staff on Gaelic coffee might be in order as a fellow diner didn't quite get what he expected). Back to the room: clean, a very good size, with a nice bathroom and plentiful hot water, plus a heated mirror, and technology which worked, including a big TV with all the free view channels made an easy place to relax and get ready for a sound night's sleep. Breakfast was spot on. And all of this came in less than £100, making it genuinely the best value for me in some time.
Stayed here on an extended leisure break - staff are well trained, courteous and efficient. The room was excellent - I even got a free upgrade to a superior double room for being a Best Western Rewards member. Food, bar and leisure facilities - excellent. Would totally recommend and hope to return for another visit soon.
What a joy to sit and enjoy a wonderful traditional Sunday lunch in their dining room. The staff and most friendly, thoughtful and efficient. Nothing seems too much trouble. The menu gave an excellent choice and I even then had a dish not on the menu with no bother at all. The food was very good quality well served and prresented - and very plenteou! Great value. Try it soon or miss a treat..
Comfortable stay and the staff are always really helpful. Sara the receptionist always goes above and beyond to help me on every single visit I've had ???? The room was clean and had all the amenities I needed, the food is also nice and I wouldn't say is over the top price wise.
I have used this hotel a few times over the past couple of months as a stopover. It's reasonable priced. The bar food is okay and the staff are friendly. The refurbished rooms are clean, tidy, bright and spacious.
Checked in late, after 11pm, good service and clean and tidy hotel, will use again when in the area on business. Bar and restaurant looked good and hope to arrive earlier and try these out. Staff friendly and helpful
We are regular visitor's but the 70's & 80's disco last night 9th October exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent, the service exceptional and the disco really enjoyable. Thank you all for a great Birthday treat would love to attend the next one Wendy Hall room 200
Pleasant stay would go back. Staff nice rooms good good ok but certainly could improve only criticisms I would have is the room wasn't the cleanest also I found the housekeeping wasn't very friendly. It was ok.
After having only a 2 night stay at this hotel, which i must say i was glad it was just 2 nights. On arriving the first night check in was okay and all started well However this only lasted as long as the bar meal i ordered which was a chilli which came with Basmati rice.... okay technically chilli does not need rice but at least this should be Long Grain if to be served with rice !!!! but both for my opinion were far from fresh and definitley seemed to have been heated in a microwave. Staff seemed very apathetic to even a request for another drink and sitting by the bar watching you could see a group of staff gather at the bar but when a customer approached there was almost a comical bolting for the door !!!!!!! the room itself was fine very clean and modern ... the second night i arrived back from work and thought i would have a meal in the restaurant rather than at the bar thinking that the quality was bound to improve. again all seemed well until the waitress who was pleasent enough come over with a bottle of water and a glass, the bottle itself looked as though it had been reused a lot and the water contained within had a definite chlorine smell .... hmm Peckham Springs LOL. Dinner did not improive and both the starter and mains sauces were very bitter and again resembled a ready meal. I finally retired to my room ready for my last night to be rudely awoken by the hotel fire alarm at 01:20, after trapsing outside in the rain we were told sorry a false alarm ...!!!! unfortunately after returning to the room this false alarm persisted on and off until 02:30. On checking out in the morning the receptionist did ask how my stay was but was very rude in her response to the previous nights disturbance with no apology given.. To sum up if you want a hotel where the food should come with a ' Pierce film with fork several times' note, Del Boy provides the bottled water and the staff are reminisent of Fawlty Towers then by all means book in, but for myself i will not be back.
My husband and I were in a party of 19 spending 2 nights at this hotel. We were really impressed and pleased with our stay. The food and accommodation were excellent as was the very friendly service provided by the staff. Most of the party played golf and the course proved very interesting. We would certainly be agreeable to staying at the hotel again.
Whilst the Hinckley Island leisure has been closed we have been using Ullesthorpe Court Leisure facilities. Travelling took a little longer, but we were very grateful to have been provided with this facility for the past six weeks. The gym is fantastic with a good range if equipment. Pool is very clean and often empty of swimmers, thus making this part of our exercise schedule enjoyable. Coffee in the Leisure lounge was great, as were the beauty treatments. All leisure staff deserve accolades, thanks especially to Sara who took the trouble to remember our names. We will miss Ullesthorpe .... You are all wonderful.
The hotel facilities are excellent, the staff are outstandingly helpful, thoughtful and courteous. The chef provides excellent special diet menus. Despite there being several large functions during our stay the staff were never too busy to serve us and made us feel like VIPs
