Great, friendly staff. The food was lovely. The bar area is cosey. A large area that accommodates plenty of choice. Easy to park and navigate around. The room was large enough. The only issue was water pressure. If that was a little more than then, it would have been 100 percent perfect.
The hotel was nice & clean , maybe a little tired & a bit of a pain having no use of a lift But staff are really friendly , professional, & a credit to the establishment , nothing was to much for them & they were very accommodating we would stay at this hotel again if the price was right , thanks to the staff
Really friendly place to stay. All the staff I have encouraged were professional and couldn't do more for me. Including Paul the maintenance Man who tells me if he gets a shout out the boss will give him a bottle of wine. So here goes Well done Dave !!!. Nice place to stay
We stayed as a family in a Family room, Receptionist was really helpful and kind. No towels in room but she did rectify. first look at hotel was modern and well decorated, communal areas and restaurant. our room was in the old part of the hotel quite far away, Our room was ample but the cleanliness let it down , rose petals' left over from previous guest, Dust everywhere, torn bed frames etc. Restaurant - Dinner wasn't the best, Waiter never checked on us or our food, we didn't have a knife for ten minutes untill he came out the kitchen. Breakfast was lovely! overall Average with potential.
We had a large business booking with 29 rooms, the staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us from the initial booking all the way to check out. I dealt with Helen who looked after our booking, arranged our meals and she was so easy to deal with. The food in the restaurant was excellent and again the staff were completely in control with such a large booking. The rooms were lovely and spacious and breakfast was just delicious, we will certainly be back in 2026 for the next APF show
A huge thank you to Helen for organising accommodation for our annual business event. She was super helpful and went above and beyond in making sure that everything went like clockwork. Hugely appreciated. Thanks again for making a potential stressful situation go so smoothly!
Cold room drafts through the window, no heating. Food was mediocre. I understand it's a old manor house but I've stayed in other similar hotels and my personal opinion is it could of been alot better. Staff fobbed me of, over the heating not working telling it wasn't turned on till the endof September.
Eight of us came for a Sunday roast, starters very nice, the roast was very average, mine was poor due to the food being very salty.. also had to send glasses back to be changed because they were dirty. The restaurant is looking a bit tacky and could do with a refurb. Probably won't be returning
Lucky to get a room at the very busy Southcrest this week. Rescued by Paul the excellent maintenance man who kindly agreed to shuffle some renovation work he was doing to free a room up for me - brilliant customer service. Always well looked after by Jordan, Maddie, Amber, Claire, Aaron and all of the team. Given how popular this place is becoming my advice would be to always book in advance. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Redditch to be honest.
We had the overnight spa experience, my sister and we absolutely loved it. Beautiful grounds, relaxed atmosphere. Not busy like other spas I've been to, i literally saw 2 other ppl in there. Had the hot tub to ourselves and Chloe and Amy were amazing I can't thank them enough for such a nice experience. Easy to talk to, very respectful. Amazing at what they do! I had massage and pedi polish, my sister had massage and facial. Will definitely be back. The food was lovely, the breakfast was too. They have giant hashbrowns. All staff were really nice and I felt very welcome and safe there. Definitely worth it!!
We booked our wedding at southcrest manor and we were looked after all day, nothing was to much trouble for the team that was on, when the staff finished their shift they came and congratulated us and introduced us to the new team members. Kay the wedding coordinator was amazing she was always available for any queries we had and very quick with responses, went through everything for the day so it was completely stress free. The team members worked throughout the night to turn around the room and had everything set up for us in the morning. FANTASTIC!!! Overall I would highly recommend Southcrest Manor. We had an amazing wedding that was handled brilliantly by the entire team.
My wife had some vouchers for afternoon tea and when we arrived we were seated looking out into the lovely gardens on a really sunny day . All the staff could not do enough for us and were so friendly and helpful, and the afternoon tea was lovely really nice fresh sandwiches and a nice selection of cakes and as much tea as you like ,we had 3 pots made with loose tea so much nicer
Room okay but temperamental shower. Breakfast very poor quality, tepid and no flavour. Spa opening hours very restrictive and meant we weren't able to make use of it at all. Cleaner very friendly and only person who asked how our stay had been
My wife and I stayed for one night at the Southcrest Manor Hotel while visiting friends nearby. We ate dinner in the restaurant the night we arrived and the meal was good. Our room was on the side of the hotel overlooking the gardens and was a trifle warm for sleeping. There was a fan however it seemed to just blow warm air around rather than provide any cooling. Breakfast was ok but I wouldn't rave about it. Overall it was a decent stay but nothing spectacular.
My friend booked us a spa day package and communication to book was all good and we were told we could use the facilities before our hot tub booking and treatments. However when we arrived the girl in the spa seemed very surprised anyone would turn up early and told us to come back 10 mins before our treatment. After talking to reception again we were shown to a grubby, old fashioned waiting area. .The kettle had no water, just plastic cups and dirty spoons from the day before. The girl from the spa came back again after clearly being spoken to by reception and we again asked to be shown the facilities .Eventually we were shown where our robes were and shower etc.Would not have wanted to use that shower!.She didn't seem to know where the gym was after taking us on a wild goose chase until we pointed it out ,right next to the spa she worked in! So bizarre ! We felt uncomfortable and certainly not relaxed.Thankfully we hadn't yet paid so decided to abandon our spa day here.We called another hotel I had been to before and had a lovely day and were properly looked after. This hotel needs to invest in its facilities and training of staff.First time in our lives we have ever walked away from something we have booked but simply not good enough and we weren't prepared to pay for an experience that made us feel uncomfortable when it should have made us feel relaxed and pampered.
I stayed here with my husband for 1 night as a treat four our wedding anniversary and it was perfect! The hotel was big and had beautiful grounds, lots of parking which was free to guests. We didn't have an evening meal but we sat and had a drink in the conservatory bar area and it was very relaxing with the views of the grounds. Our room was very spacious and there was a lovely surprise of a happy anniversary card in the room from the hotel. The next morning we used the gym before breakfast, the machines were a bit old but they worked fine and we were the only ones in there so we had the place to ourselves. We went for breakfast after which was a buffet, I'm usually not a fan of buffets but this one was really nice, lots of choice and the food seemed of a high quality. I would come back here again as it's a great stop off on a long journey.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful and were the perfect backdrop for our daughters wedding reception. The staff were helpful and kind and had done a lovely job of setting everything up and making sure the day ran smoothly. The food was really goid, especially the beef which just melted. Our compliments to the chef. We were all very comfortable in our rooms and ready for the good breakfast the following day. We were all made to feel special and looked after. I would definitely recommend Southcrest Manor Hotel for a wedding or short stay or for food. Thank you everyone.
The South Crest Manor Hotel is priced at £78.75 for one night, suggesting that it may be a budget hotel. The check-in process is quick and efficient, but there is a £20 automatic charge held on the card instead of taking payment details during checkout. The room is small and not very attractive, with a rattling air conditioning in the bathroom. There are no real keys in use, which indicates that the hotel may not be cutting-edge. The bed is comfortable, but there doesn't seem to be any air conditioning except for a radiator or window to open, which overlooks the car park. Unfortunately, the bar does not have non-alcoholic beer available. On the positive side, there is free Wi-Fi provided, although opting out of marketing options may be required. A good night's sleep, a nice roomy bath in the bathroom for the following morning although the noisy fan is very irritating and a self-service breakfast well presented although one had to ask for non-dairy milk as it wasn't in evidence. All for money, with just a few rough edges.
We chose the Southcrest Manor Hotel in which to take a much needed break, and were not disappointed. In fact we were delighted to have a quiet standard room for our 5-night stay. The breakfast choices were good, as were our evening meals and mid-day snacks on days when we stayed in. Most delightful were the hotel staff who were helpful and courteous at all levels. We hope to return there soon.
I was brought a voucher for Laura Ashley afternoon tea for my birthday. My daughter and two daughter in laws had vouchers too. We were the only ones in the restaurant . The waitress took our order she was very pleasant. The food came out and looked very good but no smoked salmon & cream cheese Bellinis. The pot of tea was not the hottest sandwiches were quite bland and went stale quite quickly. The scones were very fresh and the choice of jams and cakes were good. The waitress did bring a jug of water but we didn't see her again. No one checked if things were ok or if we needed anything else. The attention to detail was not good. We had to ask the hotel reception for the bill and also to ask for boxes to take home the scones we couldn't eat. Overall very disappointing. The tiolets need a refurbish and some hand wash would be good,
Thank you so much to Kyle and the team last Sunday who made our family roast lunch very special for mums 85th birthday. They were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. There were 20 of us, small children too and they served lunch to all together with no problem at all. At the same time several guests were also enjoying afternoon teas in the beautifully decorated Laura Ashley room. Kyle also bought out a table for the birthday cake and everything went smoothly. Mum was made to feel very comfortable and certainly the centre of attention. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it, all piping hot and served perfectly. They have a nice garden area too for photos, sitting on the terrace or for the children to run around in. I cannot fault the hotel and will definitely be returning for an afternoon tea too. Thank you so much to all concerned.
Service was slow for all occasions. The water pressure was dire to the point it took a very long time to rinse the soap from both my hair and body. The bed seemed small for a double bed. Usually my partner just fits into a double bed but his feet was massively hanging over the bottom of the bed. The room needed a bit of tlc. Hot tub had loads of white floaty bits. The dressing room was upstairs so when you got out of the spar, you had to walk upstairs, dripping wet to get changed again. I personally think it's very expensive for the experience. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful hotel when you look at it from the outside but definitely not when you are in some of the rooms. The dining room (oscars restaurant) and other areas of the hotel definitely needs a coat of paint. As there are marks everywhere. It's supposed to be a wedding reception room, which would be very beautiful if they kept up with the upkeep. It's definitely a shame as the hotel has so much potential but it's not very well looked after.
We had an amazing day on Saturday 15th June everything was perfect! Thank you to Kay for all your help arranging our wedding day. You made the whole process stress free and easy. All the staff on Saturday were brilliant and helpful. Jordan was brilliant throughout the day and made everything run smoothly. The man on the evening was good as well but I didn't get his name. Fin and Yaz (think this was her name) on the bar were lovely. All our guests commented on the generous food portions and how nice the food was. From start to finish everything was fantastic, we definitely chose the best place to get married.
Excellent service and satisfied with service provided. Good restaurant service, room facilities where found as described online and quiet environment. Staff were very helpful and made my stay there a very pleasant one. I recommend this place to other customers.
Kay at the southcrest helped plan our dream day! She was absolutely phenomenal and very professional. Kay made sure she was there on our big day and to check that everything ran smoothly. Jordan was so lovely and calming when I was about to walk down the aisle. The night team were amazing, they listened to how I would like the rooms decorated and made sure that there were no issues on the wedding day/night. My little boy was asleep during the wedding breakfast and it was no issues for them to ask/ arrange with the chefs for his dinner to be freshly cooked when he was awake. Thank you to all the team at the southcrest !
Excellent value for money, friendly, comfortable, food is superb value, very clean and very quiet relaxing rooms
We hired the Kingfisher suite for my mom's hen night. It was fabulous, we had pamper packages, overnight stays and meals, the service and whole experience was excellent. A big thank to Helen for all your help with making this a memorable experience that went perfectly thank you. Highly recommended.
A very pleasant 3 day stay and we will definitely be returning. Great value Sunday lunch, comfortable rooms and lovely grounds - try and find the overgrown Japanese garden and bridge way down below in the 10 acres of grounds. Excellent staff service, friendly and attentive.
I was really looking forward to a stay with a little luxury. Unfortunately, the hotel has seen better days and I would have had an equal but much cheaper stay at a Travelodge or Premier Inn. I was disappointed because of what was promised by the website
We had, my mums funeral here. The food and staff were excellent. My immediate family and myself stayed overnight. Rooms were great and very nicely decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant. My husband and I chose from the A la carte menu - 2 courses for £33. And it was top notch, good sized portions and was gorgeous. Breakfast in the morning again was brilliant. Everyone here are so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend them.
We had our wedding here and we had the best day of our lives! Kay (wedding coordinator) was so accommodating, flexible, great at communicating, lovely, and so helpful throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and we are so so grateful for everything! Chef and kitchen staff - the food was amazing! We had so many people tell us how lovely the food was. We also loved the tasting menu and the flexibility of offering choices to our guests - this was important to us when we looked at a venue. Front of house/wait staff - food and wine was served quickly, smoothly, and with a smile - great service thank you! Bar staff - drinks were flowing all day and signature cocktail was lovely! Bar staff were friendly and did a great job with our arrival drinks too - thank you! Jordan/aimee (FOH managers) - thanks for keeping everything running smoothly and setting up the rooms - we were so pleased with how everything turned out. You were so helpful, friendly and great to have there in the day! Housekeeping - the whole place was immaculate and thank you so much for putting the hangover bags in guests rooms! Beautiful grounds and rooms too! Overall, we are so pleased with our choice of venue. They offer incredible service and value for money and I'd highly recommend Southcrest Manor as a wedding venue. Thanks so much!
We arranged to have our Wedding Breakfast at the Southcrest in May this year. It was fantastic,. I cannot recommend the venue, the staff, the food or the accommodation high enough. On arrival, staff were most accommodating in helping me arrange the wedding table. Our room was so comfortable, just what we wanted. On the wedding day, the food was out of this world, commented upon by every guest attending. I would like to say a huge thank you to Kay who arranged everything from the booking through to the actual day. Everything was perfect and I would highly recommend this as a celebration venue. Thank you so much.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful garden setting. Fabulous room overlooking the garden which was immaculately clean. A real treat that was very good value for money. Friendly, helpful staff!
Excellent hotel quite and relaxing good food nice rooms with lovely view of the grounds. Good connections to motorway
Receptionist noted I walk with a stick. "Would you prefer a "family room" on the ground floor with a "wet room" rather than a "bathroom." Everything I wanted and I didn't need to ask. Similarly my wife requires a gluten free diet . Not only a Gluten free diet but a choice of suitable food. Great
Fair enough it's an old Manor House with all its quirkyness but please train your restaurant staff.Awoken by gas fumes from a boiler flue beneath our window.
A lovely hotel close to Birmingham but set in beautiful grounds and within a few minutes of open countryside. Facilities are great with a good bar area facing woodland and a stylish restaurant. Great staff and service.
The hotel is set in lovely grounds, on arrival we were greeted by receptionist had a little chat about the place and headed straight to our room. Room was just right, modern decor and positioned so we looked out onto the grounds. We had a spa day planned so went to room and got ready for that. We were introduced to Chloe, what a lovely beauty therapist she is. I had the full body massage and my friend had shoulders and back massage and her nails painted. We had access to the hot tub for longer than expected (it was mid week and quiet). The three course meal was beautiful, big portions we actually struggled to eat it all. Both slept lovely and breakfast was really good.
The hotel was in a very practical and accessible location within lovely grounds. Upon check in, staff we very helpful and friendly and although there was slight confusion over a late check out - I had seen on the questions part of the booking.com app that a late check out was £20 until 1pm (usual check out 11am) which was partly why we booked this hotel. However the receptionist informed us it would be £15 per hour after 11am. I explained what I had read on the app and the receptionist was apoplectic but feel we were misinformed about this. We were given a superior double room which was fine for our needs initially. It was clean and well presented, however it was a bit of a maze to get to, which should be something to take into account for people with mobility problems. The bed itself was 2 single beds pushed together, this is common in some hotels, however I wouldn't expect this in a ‘superior' room. This became more of an issue when we realised the duvet provided was actually just 2 single duvets inside a large cover, which of course during the night all just bunched together so effectively we were left with the duvet sheet as a cover. This was highly annoying! We did try and contact reception a few times to request another duvet but no one answered the phone. The next morning when we went to go for breakfast, we could not leave the room due to the door not opening as the locked was jammed. We did get hold of reception quickly this time though and a member of staff came within minutes to fix the door and let us out! Thankfully we didn't miss the breakfast - which overall was great value for money. There was a good range of both continental and cooked breakfast, all of which was self serve so portion size was up to you (bonus!) Once back at the room, we decided to sleep more as we'd had a late night and had paid for a late checkout. However, even with the do not disturb hanger on the door, at around 10:15am we got a knock on the door from housekeeping asking if we were checking out any time soon. Staff were very apologetic once we'd explained we'd paid for a late checkout and explained they'd not received the message but after the lack of sleep due the bed/duvet issues plus getting locked in our room this was yet another issue/inconvenience. Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for our needs and the breakfast was great value, just a shame about the other things otherwise it would have been a perfect stay.
Cleanliness of room and bathroom was poor. All grime in shower pipe. Cobwebs in room and dust. Bits on carpet just needs attention to detail. Customer service was poor when checking in.
Great stay. Rooms really comfortable, friendly staff, great food. Good location. Would definitely stay again.
Bad experience, woken by strangers unlocking my door at 2.45 am resulting in a bad nights sleep quite frightening to be woke like this didn't feel safe at all
I stay a couple of time a month for work and it greeting and welcome is always lovely when I arrive. I can arrive at 5pm or 11pm and it's never an issue. The rooms are always clean and comfy and just a pleasure to stay.
Lovely Hotel, nice and clean and Staff were all really friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend!
Celebrated our golden wedding anniversary at the Southcrest with 60 guests. The staff were friendly and helpful and the events co-ordinater was extremely efficient ensuring everything went off without a hitch. The 3 course meal choices were excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. Would not hesitate to recommend the Southcrest Manor hotel.
Kay has been amazing throughout the whole planning process. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything we discussed or promised was either resolved or simply acted upon. We could not have asked nor got a better coordinator. Jordan, was a key performer on the day. Her smile is infectious and her attention to detail was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and anything that was asked of her was quickly resolved and acted upon. The food was great. We had a special request to have a cob baked for a polish tradition. What chef produced was over and above what we expected and also tasted amazing, the guests polished it off after the traditional ceremony of presenting it to the bride. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Maddy was also a great leader of the evening team. The evening food was also great and plentiful. Dj: The setup was brilliant. Guests commented on the song choice which was great. It must have been good to get the Groom up!! Any requests were swiftly played, no questions. Great Dj's, nice people. The wedding went smoothly and we had all in all an awesome day with both the English and Polish families cementing lifelong bonds. We would whole heartedly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for any kind of celebration. We had such a special day.
My husband and I had a lovely afternoon tea in the Laura Ashley tearoom at the hotel. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious. So many that we had to take some home with us! All of the staff were helpful and friendly. We'd definitely recommend it.
We recently celebrated my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary here at the Southcrest Hotel on the 1st April. From start to finish Kay went above and beyond with her professionalism whilst organising the function. Staff on the were amazing. Thank you so much for everything we would definitely recommend.
We had our wedding at the Southcrest Manor Hotel in February 2024. From the 1st visit to the last we had a lovely experience. The staff went above and beyond for us we couldn't fault them at all. The venue was fantastic. On the day of our wedding it was like a dream come true everything went as expected. The food was lovely lots of it too. The whole experience with Southcrest Manor Hotel was brilliant. We would highly recommend this hotel.!!!! Thank you sooooo much to all the staff for our lovely experience!!!!
Attended here today to attend spa. What a fantastic experience me and my fiend ha. The ladies in the spa Rachel and Chloe who treated us were fantastic very friendly and welcoming and the services we received were 2nd to none. We both had fulll body massage and facial. We had use of the the facilities at the spa. The hot tub was very clean and well kept with a beautiful view of woodlands. Temp was just right as was the sauna. Very clean. Towels and robes provided on arrival and belongings left in loved lockers. We also had the afternoon tea within Laura Ashley tea room. Lovely service and nice quality food. We booked this day as a package and was well worth the money of £95 each. Highly recommended and we will be returning 100%. Thankyou Rachel and Chloe…regards Sarah and tracey
Beautiful hotel, a touch tired in places. A new luck of paint and new carpets would make a huge difference. Wonderful staff though and room!! Food excellent, will soon be back. The staff were friendly and the hot tub a real treat. We have treatments from the Spa and indulged in the steam and sauna rooms, small but fine!
My Husband and I attended a Murder Mystery Evening at the hotel, which was hosted by a company called Murder 57. It was a fantastic evening, the cast were very professional and very entertaining! Southcrest Manor Hotel is a beautiful hotel and makes a great location for the murder mystery evenings. Fantastic service abd a delicous meal! We will definately be returning!!
I regularly stay at this hotel and receive a warm welcome and excellent service. Lovely clean room. Friendly staff who do their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one. Excellent Wi-Fi connection for work. First class
This is a wonderful place to stay for a friendly peaceful stay. I'm so happy for finding this hotel. The staff are just lovely and always available to help if needed. Massive shout out to Lesley, Claire, Jordan and I can't miss out Paul the maintenance guy who is always ready to help out. Hotel is so lucky to have such lovely and professional staff, you don't see this often. I can't wait to go back!
My husband and I celebrated his 80th and our 40th anniversary at the Southcrest on 3rd February. Our family of 40 joined us for a delicious buffet arranged by Kay. It went very smoothly and everyone had a great time. Rooms were booked too and were very clean and comfy. I would certainly recommend the Southcrest Manor Hotel.
Having stayed at this location regularly over last 2 years I now stay less often as I find my stay at the Southcrest less enjoyable. This hotel has never been five star luxury however It did the job, friendly staff , decent food and experience generally above satisfactory for a single or at most couple of nights away for work. But, recently the experience has become poor and I now look at other hotels near area as alternatives and the Southcrest is now my last resort unfortunately. My main reason for this is that the food has become poor, I will not touch the meat for breakfast anymore, the sausages are grizzly and awful. Similar to the restaurant and bar menu the menu has been the same now for a while but the standards keep slipping and comparing the same food offf the same menu it's hard to believe it the same place, there is no excuse.
We stayed here for two nights and overall, enjoyed our experience. The hotel is a lovely building and has charm and character throughout. We enjoyed the food, especially dinner, which was well presented and delicious. We also used the health and beauty facilities and found them well priced and functional. The room had character and charm too, but could have done with a makeover. The carpet didn't seem particularly clean, furniture had seen better days (especially the drawers) and the plumbing and heating was just not up to scratch. The shower was often far too hot and not very strong and central heating comprised of a radiator, which seemed to have two settings; Hot or off. All in all a charming hotel, but overpriced in terms of quality of rooms and needs a face-lift.
We had the most fabulous day on Sunday celebrating my baby shower in the Terry Suite, we wanted to say a huge thank you to Kay for the help with organising and being so helpful over the last few weeks. Maddi and the gentleman (sorry we didn't catch his name) for looking after us so well on the day. The food was delicious and everyone had such a lovely time. I didn't get chance to thank any of the lovely staff on the day but you were all fabulous! Love Ella x
Me, my husband and 4 members of our family attended the Christmas Day Lunch (2023) and I would like you to know that the whole team at Southcrest Manor Hotel made our Christmas. From the time we set foot in the door they were warm, welcoming and gave a 100% service that could not be faulted. The food was absolutely lovely and we are already planning on booking again for Christmas 2024 once they start taking bookings. I don't normally make recommendations but on this occasion I would highly recommend you try this lovely venue.
Our group of forty plus stayed two nights here in September. Set in ten acres of garden you felt cocooned against the world outside. On arrival the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. Rooms were of a good size, clean and had all the usual amenities. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of good choices. Meals in the evenings were a delight to the senses and service was excellent. Only minus point was the size of the bar. This is a hotel we will definitely be returning to.

Rooms were of a good size, clean and had all the usual amenities. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of good choices. Meals in the evenings were a delight to the senses and service was excellent. We got married here 25 years ago, (26.09) so to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary I booked us in for an overnight stay. with a spa treatment, evening meal & breakfast. From start to finish it was lovely, room was spacious. Evening meal superb. Breakfast was buffet help yourself and again was so nice with a good choice of items both hot and cold, with juices, tea and coffee. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control the spa treatments were cancelled, these things happen and it didn't spoil our experience at the hotel. Staff from reception on booking in and checking out and the waiting staff were all pleasant and polite. We had a lovely afternoon/evening reminiscing - thank you - we will be back.
Not a lot of choice in the area for a reasonable price and this hotel is very reasonably priced for mid week. Didn't spend much time in the hotel or room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice hotel, bar, lounge, restaurant, breakfast but the room we were allocated, and I'm a Diamond Select member with Best Western, was in need of a serious refurbishment, especially the bathroom which wasn't to big. Breakfast was good and the selection was good. Didn't try the hot stuff though. Only down side was there was only one lady on and she was run off her feet ensuring everything was stocked/available and clearing tables. They need more staff in the restaurant at breakfast.
Me and my friend had a disappointing stay, which is a shame because with some changes it could be nice- Staff- upon arrival, the staff at reception didn't seem to know where to tell us to go because we arrived a few hours before check In time. However, we had to come at that time because we had the hot tub booked at 11. At lunch time, I couldn't open the ketchup sachets so a member of staff said she would get me some scissors to cut it- I'm still waiting for those scissors. At dinner time, I asked one staff what the soup of the day was and then when another customer asked what it was, a different staff member said a different soup! Spa facilities- quite poor. The relaxation room was a joke! It just looked like someone's living room (pictured) with a sofa with a dirty sheet on and little stools that no one is going to sit on to relax after a massage! Not even dimmed lighting to make it more relaxing. No staff around to tell us when our massages our, had to look at the computer behind the desk to see. The women who did the massages were lovely though. Hot tub was really nice but again no staff around to tell you where to go or what to do. Food- The food was really nice (pictured). The menus for both lunch and dinner had a great selection. I would come for the day here and perhaps have lunch or an afternoon tea. The room- the room was nice, clean and modern, and I had a decent night's sleep. The shower drainage was a bit slow so any showers longer than 10 mins might overflow. Because there isn't a pool and a good relaxation room, me and my friend didn't know what we could do between lunch and dinner. Luckily Redditch shopping centre is 5-10 min drive away so we went there. Would I come again?- Probably not. Definitely not for a spa break, it just felt like a hotel that just happened to have some spa facilities. I'd only return here for the food but it wouldn't be hard to find decent food somewhere else that had better facilities.
Absolutely fabulous, this hotel has got it very right. I messed up with my booking and an extremely helpful member of staff (Clare) kindly went out of her way to sort it for us. We didn't get around to using the spa, but I'm told that too is excellent. Lovely room, great food and stunning location. First class customer service and wonderful staff.
What can I say about Kay Lilley, Melissa and the rest of the team members at Southcrest Manor. We had our wedding at Southcrest on 02.09.2023, however Kay has been there helping us since we booked to have our day there. There were a lot of us on Friday night, the night before and we all had a lovely meal in the restaurant. On the actual wedding day the team worked so hard getting the rooms ready, and they surpassed my expectations. They covered every little detail. My guests and family all said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The food was spot on, it was a shame I couldn't eat any of the evening food I was just too full, however the guests loved the food and complimented us on finding this venue. Everyone had such a good time, and myself and my husband couldn't be any happier. Absolutely perfect
We looked at several options around Redditch for our Golden Wedding celebration, and decided on The Southcrest Hotel, which has proved to be an excellent choice in every respect. Firstly, the facilities were perfect: a private room beautifully presented; a bar area and spacious patio for guests to use as they arrived and afterwards; attractive surroundings; plenty of parking. Secondly, the organisation was very efficient, from Kay who oversaw the event to the whole team who manned the bar and gave us excellent service for the meal, plus of course the chefs who provided a set meal that was praised by all. Thirdly, the price for the event was reasonable, and the guests who booked rooms (7 rooms in all) were all happy with the price and quality. So, we can genuinely say we were very impressed with the venue, and we had a marvellous afternoon. Recommended!
We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday 19th August. The event took place in the Auxerre Room which was an ideal size for our party of 50 for a delicious sit down meal. The organiser Kay did an excellent job bringing the whole event together being supported by able and friendly staff. We had an afternoon in the garden and conservatory followed by an evening BBQ. Many of our guests stayed overnight and all agreed that the hotel was very well run and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and was sufficient for our needs. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel.
I have stayed at the southcrest quite a few times and the reason for this is that it is a wonderful place to stay. I am always greeted with a smile from the lovely Claire on reception and given the right room for me. Any problems I have had have been dealt with by Paul the Maintenance guy with a smile and very quickly, I have to say that any problems have been minor and nothing I couldn't have dealt with but Paul fixes everything. A great guy. I wish I could remember all the staff as they were all lovely, made me feel so welcome and as if I was at home. Members of the staff I do know the names of are.. Leigh with housekeeping. So helpful and does a wonderful job of keeping rooms clean along with the rest of housekeeping crew. Lovely people and nothing is too much trouble. Last person who I want to recognise is the lovely Liaba who does breakfast and serves at the bar, what a nice young girl and a real asset to the hotel. Has great conversation and pours a good wine ! Just want to add that although I don't know all your names, each of you combine to make my stay as comfortable and as happy as it can be. No negatives here from me I miss them and can't wait to get back for a break again. Oh and the food is really good.. chips to die for, treated myself to a steak last night and it was as I ordered.. hats off to the chef and kitchen staff as they were having a busy night with a wedding party. All I can say is its a great place, wonderful peaceful location, good parking, WiFi, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Thank you to all the lovely people working so hard to make our stays so memorable. Lynn
We had a great time at the Southcrest Manor, celebrating my 80th birthday. We were well looked after by the lovely staff with their marvellous care and attention to detail which made my celebration all the more special. Thank you to the Chef and all who served our meal which everybody enjoyed, it was excellent.
The rooms are clean comfortable and quiet, the menu is outstanding however the service was not. Spa experience was disappointing as not very relaxing and felt that staff were overwhelmed and rushed, not as caring as previously experienced.. Had to constantly remind hotel reception staff that we had paid on booking but their computers were giving them inaccurate information. Very disappointed with reception staff attitude.
I am disgusted with the management team. How dare you insult and be rude to my husband and call him a liar. We stayed on Saturday night. 12th august for one night only that was enough. The front desk is not manned 24/7 receptionists both rude. We stood for 10 mins alongside another couple who also arrived at the same time. The red carpets are disgusting going up the stairs. I have worked in hotels and we are also well travelled worldwide. I paid £127 for one night absolutely NOT worth the money. You need to train all staff on politeness and learn how to greet and smile at people. Your waitresses on a Sunday morning need to learn how to clean and change their attire. I witnessed a waitress wiping the breakfast table with a teacloth and wiped all the crumbs onto a chair. I was astounded do you not have cloths and disinfectant. The food was bloody awful and bare minimum. Yes those sausages were done in a deep fat fryer and were cheap rubbish, bacon cooked in a microwave, mushrooms were not fresh and were definitely tinned, Your apple juice and orange juice dispensers were filthy and disgusting they need a bloody good clean before refilling. Apparently you ve had a renovation please do let me know where, personally you were ripped off. Please do advise your maintenance team to fix the toilet seat. Train you staff how to use a hoover in the bedroom especially around the skirting boards and wipe stains off the walls. The only good thing about the stay was the mattress. Disappointed is not the word for this hotel. Thank goodness the shahi restaurant on the Saturday night made our weekend and they are all perfectly mannered. I suggest you send your staff there to get some tips and training.
Don't use this hotel if you want a good experience and value for money......1st impressions were not good as nobody was at the check in desk we had to wait at least 10mins then the decor is dirty and tired it needs renovation same with the small room. Breakfast was appalling not a lot there deep fried sausages boiled mushrooms and hard croissants VERY POOR BREAKFAST BEST WESTERN sorry this is not BEST anything
Stayed here with my family. Had interconnecting rooms which we well appointed and really comfy beds. The staff were really friendly and great with the kids. We ate at the restaurant in the evening and had an excellent meal- Pork Belly was amazing. We played football in the grounds after breakfast and then went on out merry way refreshed.
We just want to say a huge thank you for your help planning our Wedding day, it genuinely was perfect. Right from the first meeting we knew we made the right decision booking our Wedding with yourselves, Kay is very approachable (you seem more like a friend rather than an employee of Southcrest!) and you made us feel like no request was too much hassle. Kay was very thorough with our planning and kept us up to date with everything where necessary. We genuinely cannot fault the communication during the planning process and even after our Wedding Kay is still checking up on us which is lovely! The team on the day were absolutely faultless - we loved how everyone kept making sure we had everything and checked up on us before, during and after the ceremony. Also, thank you so so much for coming to see us on the morning, it was great to see you and our families were so appreciative! The whole day was seamless and we didn't even notice the room being flipped for our wedding breakfast / evening party, the team were brilliant and you should be very proud of them. Again, thank you so much for how our Wedding day turned out, you really have created some special memories which we will never forget. The Southcrest is an absolute hidden gem and we wouldn't have chosen anywhere else!
What a lovely hotel! I went last night to join family for dinner. Three little ones joined us all under 5. The staff catered for all their needs bringing carrot and cucumber sticks to graze on until their dinner was ready, and kept the grown ups happy too!! A lovely selection of food from both the daily menu and the a la carte. Couple of cheeky, by the glass Pinot Grigio made for a fantastic evening. Food was delicious and the service was brilliant!
Decent, but small room - in particular the "bed area" was very "compact" with too much of the room given over to the bathroom. Low pressure shower. There was a 30th birthday party in progress until (very) late, and although our room was some way away it was still (very) noisy. I understand hotels have to host functions/parties and these can be noisy, but the needs of other guest have to be considered as well. Hotel is nicely decorated. The breakfast menu lists a huge selection of cheeses/meats - the only problem is that at 0815 on a Saturday morning only one piece of cheese and one range of meat was available !! Cooked breakfast was low quality bacon/sausages - not local produce - why ?
We had our wedding at The Southcrest on 14/07/23. From start to finish we found Kay and the team welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole process was superb, very thorough & Supportive, ended up with the whole day running seamlessly. Food was amazing and nothing but positive feedback from all our guests. Such lovely staff, Claire, Jordan, Ryan to name a few. Accommodation was fantastic, rooms are lovely. Would highly recommend this venue for any occasion.
Hotel and grounds are nice, but our twin room was quite tired, mattress and pillows were of poor quality and the shower pressure was weak. Also no toiletries in the en-suite, but we had brought our own.
This is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous grounds, spacious and comfortable rooms, excellent coffee and good facilities. What stands out is the staff: they combine professionalism with real friendliness and are really good at their job. An excellent team. Customer care is very good indeed. At breakfast they were helpful in getting gluten free bread and veggie sausages : however we did think that the main meals could be more veggie friendly. Otherwise everything was perfect. They deserve congratulation for having such a motivated and genuinely friendly staff. We really did feel welcome.
We can't thank the Southcrest Manor hotel staff enough for providing us with the best wedding day we could have wished for. We chose Southcrest as we wanted a welcoming, stylish and intimate venue to share our special day with our friends and family. From the initial meeting with our wedding co-ordinator Kay we knew we were in the best of hands. The Laura Ashley Tea room was the perfect setting for our ceremony and the bar area and gardens allowed our guests of all ages, from kids to grandparents, plenty of space to unwind and celebrate with us. We chose the Afternoon Tea package in the Auxerre Suite and every aspect of it was delicious and gorgeously presented. It was the ultimate feel good day! We took advantage of the hotel recommended DJ, Rob and photographers L&E Photography and we've been delighted with our choices. Nothing was too much trouble for the Southcrest Manor staff. They catered for all our guests dietary requirements and their confidence and expertise put us at ease throughout our weekend stay. The hotel rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and all our guests echoed our satisfaction, many saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Southcrest Manor is an understated gem where we've made happy memories that we'll cherish forever. We can't wait to go back and celebrate our anniversary there next year. Thank you to all staff for your hard work and attention to detail, it is very much appreciated. N&C Shotton
Had our wedding here on the 10th June, kay looked after us from the very beginning, helped us bring all our plans together for our special day. On our wedding day the room looked amazing, all hhe staff was helpful and friendly. The grounds are fantastic and we had some amazing photos outside in the grounds. We had a sit down meal, the chef did an amazing job the food was lovely and was serve by the waiters and waitresses, anything we needed wasn't an issue and was sorted straight away. Even before the cermony kay and some of her staff came to my room to wish me good luck and explained how things would go. I would recommend anyone looking for a wedding venue to come to southcrest, we enjoyed every minute, kay was fantastic and sorted everything out for us. Thank you to southcrest manor hotel to kay and every single member of the staff that made our special day the most memorable. Mr and Mrs Barnett
Overall a good experience. The staff were incredible from first booking with Helen. She was extremely patient attentive and polite clear on reception ensured that the issues regarding housekeeping were dealt with swiftly and a discount was applied. Accordingly, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family, as it was peaceful, yet convenient for access into Bromsgrove.
Generally a good hotel. The rooms were clean and tidy and far enough away from a wedding party that was going on so quiet enough. The breakfast was nice enough, although there were some items that weren't refilled even though we weren't particularly late and there was over an hour left of the breakfast slot. Food was nice and staff were helpful. We ate a set menu as part of a murder mystery event, so can't comment on the main menu. Would stay again, and is walkable to Headless Cross where we found a nice pub with a beer garden which was pleasant while the hotel was busy with a wedding.
Me & my daughter booked the pamper package. We had a lovely welcome at reception. Our room was really nice & clean. Went for dinner in the evening,we ordered from the a'la Cart menu. The food was beautiful & great portion sizes. We booked in for our pamper the next morning with Chloe. I had a facial & pedicure & my daughter had the full body massage. Chloe was very welcoming & made us feel so comfortable. We fully enjoyed our treatments & will definitely book again with Chloe. Can't wait for our next visit.
My partner and I stayed here for two night. The location is great for us for visiting relatives. There is ample parking to the side of the hotel. Reception staff were courteous and efficient. Our room overlooked the garden, with a lovely view. It was a very spacious and comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was self service with a good selection of hot and cold food. Would stay here again.
A lovely hotel ...stayed in a executive room overlooking the gardens.. very quiet had a wonderful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed . The staff friendly and welcoming.. A lovely breakfast. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.
The day started with a spa treatment at the beauty salon, which comprised of a back and neck massage with Elemis products followed by a facial. It was pure luxury. We were asked by the attentive staff if we had any specific preferences., which was really nice. A dip in the hot hydrotherapy pool was so relaxing. Later, we were served lunch in the beautifully decorated Laura Ashley restaurant. Although, the menu had a large selection, we opted for their delicious Sunday roast. It was well presented and the food was hot and plentiful. The staff were professional and gracious. A great place to visit if you are in need of some pampering or, some real good food. Will definitely go again.
We had a lovely Christmas Day lunch at Southcrest Manor Hotel, the event was very well organised, the food was extremely good and the service was excellent. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience.
I booked 3 rooms for a party of 6 people to celebrate NYE to include dinner & disco. From the outset communication with the hotel was excellent enabling me to be specific in room requirements & dietary needs. The hotel is lovely, much more friendly than the usual corporate feel, lovely setting, comfortable rooms, well stocked with tea, coffee, robes, slippers. All staff are very friendly, excellent customer service throughout. Everyone enjoyed the food & entertainment,I'm sure I will return
Sadly we lost a member of our family and we held the wake at the Southcrest hotel. Everything about the place and the service that we experienced was spot on. The staff who dealt with us, showed compassion and warmth towards us on this sad day. There were also friendly, professional and nothing was to much trouble for them, even when we asked for more cakes!!! Thank you again for looking after us.
Stayed two nights. First breakfast experience there was no meet & greet. Not necessarily a problem as we're no shrinking violets. We just used a vacant table. The young lady eventually appeared from the kitchen and to be very fair, she was attentive and courteous. Breakfast on the second occasion... Arrived at 09:45. The dining room was pretty busy, but not overly so. The meet and greet girl was the complete opposite of the previous day. I asked for two 4 minute boiled eggs. The girl looked at her watch and with some reluctance said she would do them. Whilst waiting. my wife and I had sausages and bacon. Bean and hash browns. None of which was hot. Likewise, the coffee. The boiled eggs arrived in about 10 mins. in a bowl... No egg cup. (Yes. No egg cup..!?!) The eggs were not cooked. 2 mins at very best. inedible. At 10:00 on the dot, the (I assume) FB manager went to each occupied table and asked if they were finished with breakfast and proceeded to clear both food and drink. Sorry to be long winded on this issue, but neither of us has experienced anything like this and we stay in hotels quite regularly. Not withstanding the dining room issues. All the staff we encountered were very polite, courteous and professional. We read the reviews from others upon arrival and thought the negative ones a bit harsh regarding the F&B. After the experience we had with the dining room, we can only wholeheartedly agree. The lack of an egg cup, took the biscuit..!
Attended a Christmas Party on the 22nd December with friends, it was a great night. The food was AMAZING, service was efficient and quick. The music was a great mix and Rob the Dj was happy taking requests. Will definitely book again for next year !
My husband and I got married here in the middle of November booked in July this year. From the very first phone call right through to the goodbyes the day after it was brilliant. Everyone who works there is utterly amazing, however we had the most contact with the wonderful Kay, Adam and Christian. They all work together so so well and ran the day spectacularly. We were very happy, our guests were very happy and we couldn't have asked for more. I also have to say the food served for the wedding breakfast was beautiful, much more than we expected there to be! Now the day and planning process is over it's quite sad not having that regular contact with Kay. Thank you for accommodating my endless requests and questions, also for dealing with my long list of starter menu choices! Hopefully we can come back in future for some tea and a wander.
Booked two spa treatments for my birthday. A woman called Rachel looked after me. I had a lovely experience. Full body massage was relaxing. Nails looked fresh and pretty with the luxury manicure treatment. Thankyou to Rachel! Will visit again and recommend to friends and family.
Brilliant night, lovely hot food with a gorgeous pudding. Staff were lovely and helpful. There was great music and atmosphere -perfect Christmas party night out with friends! Fab DJ. Thank you so much.
I've been using the Southcrest as a corporate venue for a few months now, for execs' accommodation and meeting facilities during the day. Two weeks ago, we also held our infamous works' xmas party there! We opted for an 80s theme, so Rob, the resident 80s DJ was just perfect. all the team were incredibly supportive and accommodating. The food was the best we've ever had and all in all, I'd highly recommend the Southcrest. Thank you so much - we certainly made some wonderful memories.
We were given a room in the dreary 1970s extension, on the ground floor, next to the car park. The cars were so near we could have been sleeping in the car park! It was the blandest of bland rooms: sheets and duvet cover were crumpled, and it was slightly grubby: the door to the en-suite had not been wiped down for ages judging by the smears and splashes on the door and door handle. The room was unheated and cold when we arrived on a bleak December day because nobody could be bothered to turn the radiator on to welcome guests. We had a drink in the bar (grubby carpets) and the bar had run out of ice and lemon for my G&T ‘because they had been busy': such a basic thing to get wrong. In a bar! They eventually found a lemon after I complained, but the look on the staff member's face ‘ how dare you complain, we've been busy' said it all…I'm not hopeful that this place will have any improvements in the near future, and how it got its four star rating I have no idea. Avoid.
I have now been here three times on the half day experience - use of hot tub, two treatments and afternoon tea. Each time has been consistently amazing - the massage and facial absolutely brilliant. The afternoon tea is delightful, in a beautifully furnished Laura Ashley tearoom. Having the hot tub to myself each time for an hour is the ultimate relaxation. I will continue to come here for the best value spa day I have experienced! I was so impressed I bought a further two vouchers, which I can't wait to use. Only slight negatives are that the gym could do with a revamp - any compact gym really should have a dual cable station as there's pretty much no exercise you can't do on one of those and they're space-saving. Also, not convinced the infrared sauna is doing anything? Would be good to know if guests can turn these on themselves? These are minors though and Southcrest continues to be the best in Worcs for me :)
Went for festive Sunday lunch, not sure why it was advertised as a festive menu as it was exactly the same as the regular menu and just caused confusion for the server who went back to the kitchen 3 times to double check if we could have various starters/mains before our order could even be taken. Dining room was absolutely freezing. Our table of 8 had been shoved into the bay window so the 2 end chairs had the curtains hanging into them and also couldn't be pulled out very far. The window had cracked glass one side of the bay and a vent in the other side. It was so cold we had to move after our starters, it wasn't much warmer but we were at least glad not to be blasted by -2° air from outside. We like a relaxed lunch as a family but the service was painfully slow. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and waited over half an hour to be told the red we wanted was out of stock. The wine finally turned up after our starters had been cleared. Staff gave the impression they were new to both the hotel and hospitality generally and could do with some training as no one seemed to really know what they were doing. Food was ok. Smoked salmon starter was overpriced for what it was (2 slices and a piece of rye bread quartered for £7.50) Roasts could have been much hotter. Yorkshire puddings were clearly shop bought and lunch was missing the pigs in blankets - chef told the serving staff that it was all in the stuffing?! Had to ask for more potatoes and gravy. Cauliflower cheese was nice and hot. Desserts were the best part of the meal. When the bill came, the red wine which was out of stock had still been charged for so we had spend more time waiting for this to be taken off. Would have stayed for a drink at the bar afterwards but the conservatory, like the dining room, was absolutely freezing as there was only one radiator. To be honest, I was glad to be going home so I could warm up. Overall, disappointing. We had come for a celebration in June so had expected this to be of the same high standards but it fell far short.
The location was ideal, beautiful setting. The staff were very friendly and courteous, room and bathroom was spotless. Didn't stop for breakfast, as had be be somewhere! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
I organised our Christmas Party to be held here and it was better than I had expected. I have visited here before some years ago and it has improved ten fold. Our party was a group of 38 along with other companies joining that same evening and wasn't too sure how it would work but I think it worked very well and everyone was dancing and having fun. The hotel also had 2 other bars where you could be served, unfortunately the smaller bar only served bottles and not other drinks but it didn't spoil the experience. Another bonus was they played the football in the bar for those who wanted to watch it as it was England after all even if we did lose :( Thank you to all the staff at Southcrest Manor hotel for being so accommodating and to Claire and Kay for putting up with my emails leading up to the event, very patient indeed.
A Christmas get together with friends was made so much more special when we booked the outdoor igloo. Warm and cosy with twinkling lights, blankets and cushions. We even had our own little Christmas tree and cd player! The food was plentiful and delicious and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Chloe couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome, overall a wonderful evening!
We went there for family dinner. Food was simply amazing, the main dish was big and I couldn't eat all. Very nice and polite staff around especially the young girl with ginger hair, can't remember her name, sorry. Hotel and restaurant looks posh and very elegant. Clean and fresh as well. Highly recommend for any type of occasion.
We had a wonderful family get-together of 14 people aged 8 to 80 for dinner, bed and breakfast for one night. The staff were incredibly helpful, with bedrooms close together. The food at dinner and breakfast was great, and had enough options for vegans in our party, including sausages fried specially. The grounds were great for kids of let off steam playing hide-and-seek in the woods in the dark! And it was excellent value for money, including the modest charge for a separate room for our celebration dinner..
Great eveIng at this hotel. We did a Murder Mystery dinner. The hotel was lovely (bedrooms a little tired), but very comfortable big bed and newly fitted bathroom made it very nice. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming and such fun, we felt like part of a big family. The Murder Mystery was such a great success with everyone getting very involved, we laughed all night. The 3 course meal was exceptional, every course delicious. The waiting staff were great too. This really was a night to remember we'll be back. Thanks all.
A lovely experience at the hotel. Enjoyable, cosy atmosphere at the restaurant with lovely food on offer. Great steak and one of the best soups I've ever tasted. All of this on top of beautiful decor and great service, I highly recommend.
We had a spa break deal here through Spa seekers. Absolutely amazing. Rachel's treatments were fabulous, I had back massage and facial. Really rated back massage. Superb hot tub outdoors. Very relaxing. Food great, room lovely, staff friendly. A fantastic treat! I can't wait to go back.
The hotel had very good reviews on Trip Advisor so we decided to give it a go for a weekend break. We didn't decide to indulge in the hot tub or go to the spa, but we did have breakfast both mornings. We stated in a premium/deluxe plus(?) room and found the following pros and cons: Pros: -Good breakfast selection. Chef was happy to poach eggs at our request. - beautiful grounds and plenty of places to explore. - Well-proportioned room and well-fitted high-standard bathroom. Cons: - plates, cutlery and items were missing from breakfast which caused a bit of a delay: staff quickly rectified this. - the room was full of cobwebs and the carpets in communal areas could do with a bit of a deep clean. - wallpaper peeling off walls in our room, so could do with repairing. Overall, a pleasant stay made all the better by the well-decorated Laura Ashley Tea room and breakfast room. I think we were just expecting our room to be decorated/cared for to a similar standard. We would stay again.
We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary and the experience was first class in every way. Kay was amazing from the start helping us with all the arrangements and planning the evening. Nothing was too much trouble. On the day all the staff were amazing. Our meal was just delicious and was complemented by all our guests. Adam was so attentive, and made sure that the evening ran smoothly and just as we wanted. We think it would be very difficult to find a hotel to compare to the Southcrest and we cannot thank all the staff enough for making our evening so special.
2 day event, 8 presentations from external suppliers. Meeting rooms, bedrooms, food, staff, parking, location all 10 out of 10. A fantastic team, Claire & Kay in events team, Claire, Jordan, Maddie, Adam, Mark the chef, the 2 barstaff and others i dont know their names, a massive thank you. Dont hesitate to book here for up to 40 people.
When you pay for a wedding you don't expect wedding planner to make you feel like you are causing a problem when you ask for changes but Adam on the day who was left to run the whole day was brilliant and we can only say a huge thank you to him and his staff for making the day so special
Three family birthdays celebrated with afternoon tea in the Kingfisher Suite. The room overlooks the extensive grounds and was a comfortable room for our celebrations. The staff looked after us all and provided excellent food and service. A Sunday afternoon that was enjoyed by all. Big thank you to everyone involved.
Great hotel, great staff and a great breakfast. Spent the night here as we had a family funeral, as we live near Beaconsfield, the journey would have been to much of a drive so we decided to stay at this hotel.
We got married at the southcrest on 14th October and we cannot fault a single thing! From start to finish Kay the head of the wedding team was extremely helpful and guided us in all the right directions! I think we would have been very lost without her help running up to our big day. On the actual day everything was perfect there were no hiccups and the team were very helpful I would absolutely recommend this stunning venue and the team to anyone looking for a venue to get married! We can't thank the team enough!
Overall we are most impressed with this 3* hotel. Friendly staff Room (126) itself was clean and well furnished. The Bath/Shower room was very good APART from the bathroom door which was badly in need of a good clean and repainting. Evening meal was to a decent standard if a little limited in choice. Breakfast was good. Very good value for money Would have rated this as 5* but the poor bathroom door means I have marked them down We will stay again
From registration to leaving the staff were excellent: courteous, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and the service efficient and friendly. Overall, a very enjoyable overnight stay. We will be returning.
We enjoyed a family reunion, involving dinner and overnight stay for around 20 people. The service from checking in to leaving was excellent, the staff were friendly, polite and cheerful. Despite 2 other events being held at the same time, the meals were promptly served, and without exception described as delicious! The rooms were cosy and clean, with all modern technology. Breakfast time was flexible, with a good variety at the buffet. The hotel grounds added a taste of grandeur to the hotel. Well done to a clearly very organised team. I'm glad Southcrest Manor survived the pandemic.
We booked Southcrest Manor Hotel for our wedding back in May 2021 in the middle of the pandemic. We were very fortunate to be able to reserve one of the last Saturday weddings in 2022. From the outset, Kay and the team were brilliant. While we were unable to view the inside of the Hotel we felt confident that we were making the right choice. Once we were able to visit we were warmly greeted by Kay showing us all her experience and knowledge guiding us through our experience with the greatest of care. We were invited for a taster meal based upon our menu choices and that we throughly enjoyed. On our big weekend we had many family and friends join us in staying the evening before to share in the whole weekend. Evening meals were nice with a fantastic buffet breakfast. . The reception room was stunning and every care was made in letting us add our own choices to the room. Even with little changes the night before, nothing was too much trouble and Adam was a joy to deal with throughout our day, always there when needed but never in the way. The wedding breakfast was unbelievable, everyone enjoying their choices including the vegetarian and vegan options provided, the chef and all their staff should be proud of their food! Adam passed us on to Jordan for our evening and just as before, everything ran through seamlessly giving us a great end to our special day. Overall, Southcrest Manor Hotel and it's Team provided us with everything we ever wanted from our wedding. Special and sincerest thanks go to Kay for being there throughout our journey and providing us with the uttermost respect in regards to requests or changes. We will never forget our day nor will we forget those people who made it possible. Nic & Ruth
Chose this to meet upas a venue to meet an old friend. Wasn't expecting 5 star. Receptionist was friendly and helpful, room was perfectly adequate, although we had ro wash glasses as they smelled stale.. Paid for half board which includes 3 course dinner, but the allowance was for £25 per head which really doesn't cover 3 courses.. however, the 2 courses we had were good. Restaurant staff were lovely, especially Leticia and Adam who were so friendly and helpful.. the girl with the blonde hair was a little sullen and made no eye contact and could have done a little better to be welcoming.
Food from restaurant very bland…missed some of our order then added to bill. Had to explain the specific item wasn't brought out to us. Then item was cancelled from bill. No flavour to chicken or stir fry..probably one of the worst dishes I've tried.
My Wife and myself had our Wedding here in August. Kay was amazing in helping us plan our special day and ensured it went without a hitch. On the day itself we were well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Lovely venue and really friendly, helpful team would definitely recommend the Southcrest for an event or just a stay
We chose the south crest hotel for our wedding, and I would do it again in a heart beat. The staff are second to none. Attentive and on the ball every step of the way, nothing is to much trouble. The hotel is beautiful and kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The grounds out back are just simply stunning, with accessibility access also.
We stay at this hotel just for one night for visit our friends. We do not meet any problems, From check in to check out everything was very smooth, staff was very friendly and professional this hotel have very nice and clean rooms, great service, and we highly recommended it.
Well what can we say. From the moment we viewed the hotel before we booked it for our wedding till after we checked out, it was absolutely amazing. The planning, the location, the attention to detail, the rooms , the staff, the food, were just brilliant. Our day was perfect in every way. Even fantastic at calming the nerves. The Staff were absolutely wonderful and made us feel really special on our wonderful day. Will go back for our anniversary. Thank you to everyone , you are a credit to Southcrest Manor Hotel.
Had a lovely peaceful stay here. The rooms are clean & comfortable. The lovely grounds made you feel you well out in the country enen though hotel situated about 8 mins from centre of Redditch..The staff couldn't have been more helpful & friendly.
We had our wedding at Southcrest Manor Hotel in August 2022, and it was the perfect day! The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Both the wedding co-ordinator and the events team did so many things to make the day run smoothly for us. They offer excellent value for money with their wedding packages, which makes it so much easier to organise a wedding. They can provide a DJ, set-up, canapes, catering for the wedding breakfast and evening reception and much more, all for a very reasonable price. They also provide discounted hotel rooms for wedding guests. Rooms are clean, comfortable and pleasant to stay in. Kay - the wedding co-ordinator at the venue - was professional and helpful from the first meeting in November, even pointing us in the direction of local businesses who could help us with cakes, decor and photography. Despite my wedding day being on her day off, she still came in to work to wish me well. It is a really lovely place to get married, with plenty of greenery and features which look great in photographs. Lots of venues would charge much more and give you far less help and support, which is why I would highly recommend Southcrest Manor as a place to get married. I wouldn't have had my wedding anywhere else!
We loved the rooms very comfortable, the grounds were amazing. The food was outstanding... our DJ was fantastic and the staff daytime and night time was perfect throughout the day and evening. They made sure everything went smoothly and looked after us.. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.. you are amazing person to organise our wedding with the amount of changes.. you got through them and nothing was a problem.. Maggie and les Pocock xxx
Hotel felt very tired, hot tub not open until 10am, and only given 20 mins, gym was awful. This wonderful building deserves more. Staff were helpful. Probably wouldn't stay again! Reasonable price but expected more.
Afternoon tea was lovely! Found out at a later time that they also offer halal as an option. We had a lovely massage and facial from Sinead, she was very good. It was a shame that the hot tub was out of order as we were looking forward to using that. However, I don't think we would come again to use the spa as the place wasn't very clean. There was dust every where, dead insects too. The sauna was dusty and so Was the staircase. The relaxation room could really do with a revamp. There was very little in there that provided relaxation. Some ideas may be candles, lighting, music, clean floors, comfortable sofas and chairs, maybe a foot machine.
We had our wedding here last Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic. The whole team at the Southcrest are amazing people who make you feel welcome and can't do enough for you. Adam is particularly amazing and goes above and beyond to make sure your every need is met - lovely guy! If you're thinking of getting married here i would 100% recommend it. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel is stunning and Kay is the amazing, lovely lady who will help you arrange it all! Couldn't be happier with our wedding day here - i wouldn't change a thing! Thank you to all of the staff you are amazing!
Myself and my husband got married here in July 2022. Kay (our wedding planner) was there for us from earlier on in the year and was amazing at being patient with us as well as fantastic and planning everything for our wedding day based on our needs. We had been initially waiting for 3 years to get married - in 2020 our original wedding plans were postponed due to Covid and in 2021 again our wedding plans were postponed due to pregnancy so for 2022 we decided to go all out and book a hotel for a 3rd time lucky wedding and we were lucky enough to be able to book SouthCrest Manor. When it came to the wedding day the whole day felt relaxed for both me and my husband; even though many of our guests cancelled very last minute or didn't show all the staff at the hotel were very prompt at making sure everything was rearranged and organised for the day. Kay and the staff had set everything up beautifully for the day. We would like to especially thank all the staff for how they looked after us and our guests including our relatives with special educational needs and early dementia without judgement making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Later in the day Adam took over and made our meal and evening a special time to remember and even checked up on us the next morning to make sure everything had gone smoothly. We had the most amazing wedding and would highly recommend SouthCrest Manor Hotel for weddings. Vicky and Matt
I can only say we had a fantastic day nothing was to much trouble from easy booking great communication to the set up on the day food was lovely and plentiful staff very polite and helpful though out I would highly recommend and definitely be returning Thank you Kay and Adam you made my daughters day extra special Oh and it was a boy The manager aloud us to have my daughters dog come out on the bottom lawn as a surprise with the gender attached in balloons Which had everyone crying Sorry I can't post video but you definitely hit a five star with all the guests
My wife and I were married there in July. The service and catering were excellent. In fact the quality of the food was praised by many of the guests. The staff ensured that things were run smoothly and efficiently. Special praise must be given th Kay who organised the whole affair. Due to Covid we had to make last minute changes to the guest list and the arrival of an unexpected guest was all handled without a problem. I would recomme nd this venue to anybody wishing to get married.
Southcrest manor! Wow what a day! From the day we walked into your amazing hotel we knew we were getting married here. Kay what a wedding planner knowledge, advice and the information you gave us was perfect. After our second meeting you knew what we liked and always offered help at every step of the way. Constant emails and phone calls and it never felt like I was asking to much. You always went above and beyond to ensure ourselves and our guests had a brilliant day. Our guests complimented all of the staff saying how well they did and how flawless our day was. The grounds are amazing for photos and for the kids who loved running around in the trees. I honestly can't say enough good things about the whole experience. The food OMG everybody loved it we didn't get to have our taster session (our fault) so we turned up blind on the day and what a brilliant suprise it was. Our guests had travelled from Australia and Sweden and cheered when they seen the beef and huge yourkshire pudding. The guests at the hotel were lovely they complimented us and got involved with our guests some even saying the felt like part of the wedding. I can not thank you enough for our perfect day we couldn't of wrote it better. Jordan your beautiful smile professionalism and help was very much appreciated. Thank you all for absolutely everything. Sally and Ross Webb
I stay at this hotel quite regularly on business and find the accommodation to be of a great standard for the price. The staff are super friendly and the the setting lovely. I haven't eaten in the restaurant so can't comment on the food. Overall thoroughly recommend.
Having removed a review from trip advisor at the request of the manager Mr Osborne with the offer of a complimentary week, I now find myself even more angry at the hotel and it's attitude. I received the email asking if he gave me a complimentary week standard double with breakfast the duty manager now informs me it's one night only. So now they don't get a second chance as promised. Firstly it's a night getting someone on the phone so keep calling ( or don't) Ok. So my review was in regard to the general poor standard of food both breakfast and restaurant meals. Breakfast looks ok in the pics but look at the food left on plates tells another story. Sausages are black on the outside but raw inside. I'll leave that there as it's just obvious they don't care. Ordered a steak cooke medium and it came out cremated as you can see. No staff around to get feedback so no “ how is your steak” asked. I'm fumming as you can probably tell. The F&B team are under review and we are trying to improve our service, that's what I was told. Please come back and see the improvements we've made. Oh deer you've really let us all down so never again
We got married here on the 8th July. Right from our very first visit we knew we had made the right decision. The wedding coordinator, Kay, is a dream to work with. She is very experienced and although we had written a lot of questions prior to attending our first appointment we didn't need to ask them as everything was covered and explained. Throughout the wedding planning process Kay was very responsive via email and by the time came to have our final meeting we were comfortable with our choice. The day before our wedding we dropped things off to the venue and were introduced to Adam who would be looking after us on the day. He was so lovely, he felt like an old friend and made us feel very at ease. I spent the night before at the hotel with my bridal party and was thoroughly looked after. One of the staff Aaron introduced himself and explained that if we needed anything he would help. Which we did in the end as my Mom locked herself out of her room!! The wedding morning was perfect. Adam and Kay came to see how I was and then left us alone to complete our preparations. Our day went so perfectly. The drinks were flowing and we have had so many compliments on the food!! Before Kay and Adam finished their shifts they both came to say goodbye to us and we felt this was such a lovely touch. The evening staff Chloe came to see us to introduce herself and explained she would be looking after us moving on. Our honeymoon room was a welcome retreat after such a busy day and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. We really can't fault the venue or the staff at all. I really wish we could do it all again. Everyone has complimented us for our choice and the venue. Thank you so much! Love Mr and Mrs Allcott
The setting of the hotel was nice but overall the hotel felt quite tired and in need of sprucing up. Our bedroom felt very dated expect for the bathroom. The reception area and Laura Ashley bar were nice. The biggest problem was that the website states that it is has air conditioning- I presumed this meant in the rooms and the reason why we chose to stay here overnight on the warmest day of the summer traveling back home. There was NO air con and the rooms were like an oven! We had a small fan and reception provided us with another. The guy on the bar that night was very helpful and tried his best to make us comfortable by locating more fans but it was not ideal with small kids. Clarification of this would be helpful to let guests make an informed choice if air con is important to them. Breakfast was a buffet and was reasonable. Pastries were delicious! Was not asked by reception how our stay was on check out. I would chose a different hotel in the area in future.
We were here today for a family wedding and although we haven't stayed I just wanted to leave a review for the amazing service we received from all of the staff. My toddler was feeling really uncomfortable in the heat and being hungry and the staff went above and beyond to try and help calm her down. They made her a sandwich and offered loads of help including her being able to wander around rooms to cool down, a glass of ice ane bubblegum ice cream. The food we had as part of the wedding meal was beautiful and the air conditioning in the building was a beautiful relief from the summer heat. We had access to a family member's room and the room was lovely too. Thank you for being so understanding of our toddler troubles and making an already amazing day even better
The room was clean and tidy, but the bed was very uncomfortable. The pillows were thin and rock hard. We didn't get a wink of sleep! The breakfast was appalling. Very very little choice, no fruit, no croissants, and the cooked breakfast was greasy, Considering it is supposed to be part of the Best Western Group, there was nothing to suggest that there had been any investment in it apart from theLaura Ashley tea room which temps the public to visit. By the way, the shower wasn't very clean either!
Our second time here. My wife has osteoarthritis in both feet so we asked for a ground floor room with walk-in shower but ended up with a room located at the furthest possible point away from the front door. There is no lift in this hotel so we had to climb the stairs up to the next floor, walk along a myriad of corridors - with additional steps here and there along the way until we got to the back staircase leading down to our room. We then negotiated our way down Three (3) floors down with our suitcases etc to reach the bowels of the hotel where our room was to be found at the back of the building. In fairness, the hotel was only booked at a few weeks notice for 2 nights commencing on a Sunday - and they did have a wedding party in too. The hotel did tell our group organiser on booking that ground floor rooms couldn't be guaranteed - but they could've hinted at what ‘might' be offered instead. Service on arrival was appalling. No one on duty at reception - because they were helping out with the wedding reception - leaving a number of us hanging about waiting for 10 minutes - with no bell to ring for attention leaving us having to ask passing waitresses to attract some attention for us. They were clearly short staffed because the bar had no one behind it either and the dinner service later on was slow on the first night. Food overall was quite nice except for Tuesday's breakfast buffet on our second morning. The pink undercooked sausages and almost raw whole mushrooms were so unappetising that most of us didn't bother with them. The rooms were nicely appointed but try and switch off your bedside light while bed. My attached pic will show you what I mean. The housekeeping however, was the worst I've ever come across in many, many hotels. We bumped into the chambermaid leaving our room after we returned to breakfast and apologised to her for our sudden appearance. She said that was okay because she had already serviced our room and there was very little to do except to empty our bin. So left it at that and away she sauntered. When we entered the room, we found that the bed had barely had the quilt pulled up and our pillows were still left where we left them in the bed after getting up. When I went into the bathroom however, Nothing had been cleaned at all. The used complimentary soap and empty shower gel tube were just left lying where I placed them after my shower and the soap's wrapping paper was still there too. We could also see that the loo had not even been looked at either.
Revisited Southcrest Manor recently for their Sunday Lunch. Food was exquisite with generous portions. Excellent quality at an amazing price. The staff were attentive and courteous willing to assist with any request. Despite our party size service was quick, professional and friendly. Lovely work around the grounds after lunch as well! This is why I keep coming back!
Staff were warm and welcoming - the property was immaculately clean. Rooms were great stayed in the executive and standard double during our stay and both were great - food and drink was on point - would recommend and will return
I stay here regularly with work (once a week since February) and I find the hotel hit and miss, but I still return as it's convenient place to stay and it's at reasonable price. Good points , staff always friendly , rooms always clean, ample parking, Wi-Fi good coverage. Could improve, I don't want to say that there is too much wrong with the hotel but I find the quality of food inconsistent, it's definitely going worse over last few weeks to what it was back in February/ March. Also the limited menu has not changed over the time I stayed here, the stroganoff off the special was a welcome chance last time I was there. Breakfast advitised for 6.45 but it's pointless going down before 7.00 as they are really ready! On my last visit , they had no orange juice, hash brown or brown sauce, on one day but the did on my 2nd morning this week. What I have noticed is that there is a high turnover of staff at the hotel and this has to play a part in the lack of consistent in my stays here. Gym very limited, i would t get too excited if you're packing you kit!
I had my wedding at the Southcrest Manor Hotel last week and am just over the moon with how everything went. The staff (particularly our wedding co ordinator Kay) were accommodating of my needs as an autistic person and had everything running smoothly from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful with rooms that suited all of our guests, the grounds are gorgeous and we actually spent a great deal of our time outside because of how lovely it is! At the bar they ran out of my favourite alcohol but it was only 5 minutes later that they got my attention to say they'd got some which was brilliant too. Overall I couldn't be happier with my stay there especially for such an important event!
Hotel was great and good value being part of a wedding guest package , our room was lovely ( we upgraded to an executive room ) However breakfast was disappointing there was not much choice and it was poor quality
So , I turned up 2 hours before check in and had such a warm reception on arrival with good laughs and jokes , i was offered complimentary coffee and a great seat in a conservatory area overlooking some beautiful gardens. Then i found out my room at been made up early :) I had a great afternoon walking the large outside space with great garden features, i used the gym with adequate equipment to serve any needs and even had a sauna and jacuzzi before my meal. The whole stay has been a pleasure for me i will rebook here and recommend it to others without hesitation. Also the breakfast staff are wonderful and it was a young girls first day i found her pleasant and nice and hope she relaxes into the new role perfectly
We got married here, from the ceremony through to the evening reception and had the most incredible time. Obviously it was our wedding so we were on a natural high but the hotel and incredible staff made everything special. Firstly, COVID played its part as we were originally due to marry in September 2020 and eventually we hitched in April 22. This was our 4th date but at no point was there an issue. We heard other peoples horror stories but we simply hopped from date to date until we could do it. The wedding planner, Kay, is simply amazing. So calm, professional and she feels like your friend. Nothing is too difficult and she organised and scheduled every request including rolling up her sleeves if it was required. On the day itself, everything ticked like clockwork. The staff worked tirelessly behind the scenes as we went from ceremony, to photographs, to wedding breakfast, to the reception. Each time we vacated a room, it was swiftly converted ready for the next stage. We were fortunate with the British weather and could enjoy the beautiful garden and terrace in all its glory whilst the bar staff kept a steady flow of refreshments in the fabulous bar/conservatory area. The food for our wedding breakfast was divine with several of our friends commenting on how they enjoyed it. All staff were efficient and friendly and simply made it the most wonderful day. Despite the fact the hotel was open to all guests throughout the day, we couldn't help but feel we had the entire place just for our wedding and we're made to feel so special throughout the entire day. I have nothing negative to say and would recommend this hotel to anybody that may be considering it. It has such a wonderful personal feeling that you don't get at some of the corporate hotels. We can't thank the staff enough for helping to make this the most magical and wonderful of days.
Thank you so much for the care and attention to make our son's wedding reception such a special and unforgettable day. The service we received from the initial enquiry to the day itself was exceptional. Kay – our designated wedding planner - made it look easy with her calm, friendly and professional manner and the whole team are a credit to the Southcrest. The food and service were excellent and the well priced rooms meant that many of the wedding party elected to stay for 2 nights! Great value all round and all on our doorstep too! Redditch's hidden gem. Thank you!
Nice and quiet location 2 weddings held whilst I was there with plenty of staff , on third night no wedding and only 1 member of staff so delays in service , tables not being cleared for hours , also had to request room was cleaned and towels etc replenished . Some breakfast items looked like they had been reheated from the day before
Lovely hotel room bed was really comfy and the shower was perfect planned to ask my girlfriend to marry me and the staff was really helpful to assist in my needs the the evening meal was lovely had a three course meal. The breakfast was nice Overall really good experience
Hotel fails to meet the Equalities Act criteria and discriminates those with disabilities by not offering the same level of service in this case a person with mobility issues would not be able to book a superior room as they are all located on the 1st floor at the end of several long corridors. Hotel does not have a lift but does have a ramp at main entrance. Breakfast service shocking, not adequately staffed, food lacked variety, limited, food dry as had been sitting since 6:30 in heated trays. Nothing for a vegetarian, stock limited and not replenished. Asked for a boiled egg, they didn't have any eggs, asked for fruit , they didn't have any, was told they had run out of veggie sausages. No yoghurt, no fruit, no jams unless you like marmalade. Basic in everything... If you are a vegetarian would suggest staying elsewhere. Stock needs replenishing in bar. Checked out after 1 night despite having booked for 2 nights. Paper thin walls meaning that night noises were explicitly loud from next bedroom. Staff poorly trained, waiters need to learn basic serving etiquette, staff disappeared and didn't follow through serving requests e.g. asked for cider, waiter said he would look in cellar, did not return. Later in day asked for ice in drink, waiter went to look for ice but didn't return. Long wait between courses during evening meal despite only 6 tables seated, main meal consisted of fried egg with raw egg white which was returned to kitchen to re-cook. Staff unorganised. Lack of sufficient front of house staff, no porter service, have to carry your own bags up the stairs which is a problem if you have mobility issues. Lounge tables not regularly cleaned down, dirty glasses and plates left laying around. COVID is not an excuse for poor service. Despite refurbishment, some rooms look untouched and showing signs of wear e.g. bedroom lamp damaged and no Handles on bedside table.
Reasonably sized hotel in its own grounds just off of a main & busy road but not much noise to be a problem. You can walk to a small Co-op supermarket and a couple of pubs within a few minutes. Check-in was good (I was the only guest at the time anyway) and the lady was efficient, helpful & friendly. My room was fair walk along corridors and a number of sets of stairs (a proper rabbit warren is this place !) and I did miss one turn but I got there and it was facing the quieter rear of the hotel. My room, weirdly, was almost identical in size & layout to that in a Premier Inn !!!! Small wardrobe on left, desk next to it & chair at end of room by window. On right side of entrance was the bathroom and then the room opens out to a nice big bed. Bar downstairs just opposite reception was OK, comfy single chairs looking out onto patio and garden. Bar staff good, friendly and knowledgeable. A wake was going on in one reception/function room so bar staff had to go of and deliver drinks which caused a delay (no other staff evident). Restaurant/breakfast room was between bar and this function room. I slept OK until about 06.50. And then……………..the herd of elephants above me decided to rearrange the furniture. There was so much banging & scraping across the floor. Then it was accompanied by SLAMMING of doors. And I really do mean slamming. Now this slamming cannot, surely, be the fault of the hotel but by totally inconsiderate guests. Honestly. It makes you want to just go out naked into the corridor and slap them (Will Smith possibly would have). Bath tub was tall. My five foot nothing wife would struggle to get into it. Shower was hot but it was poor – a bare trickle. Waste bin was utterly useless (see photo). The foot pedal was already touching the floor and so you could not open the bin using your foot but had to manually open it with your hand. This is really bad. Housekeeping have to change the bin bags at each guest turnover so they have to do the same. Stop being lazy, report it and GET A NEW BIN !!! The back of the door had half a repair done to it (see photo) as, I assume, a robe hook had been removed. But someone has done half a job and it looks very ugly and shows a lack of care & attention. Breakfast – ooooh I love a cooked breakfast when I'm away. But this totally disappointed. Sorry but it was a bad experience. Lots of empty tables but previously occupied and full of used utensils & crockery etc. It was 08.45 so I guess plenty had been down to eat and dash off to work. I understand that. But, come on, your waiting staff had less motion than Sloths ! I cleared a table myself (after waiting) and then a chap provided the cup, plates, cutlery etc. I ordered a coffee and asked if I could have 2 poached eggs (only eggs available on the help yourself buffet were a couple of fried kept under a heat lamp and some scrambled which had dried out). No problem the chap said, but there might be a short delay (5 minutes I was thinking as, how long does it take to poach 2 eggs ?). I made myself a slice of ‘toast' using the fairly standard, and usually awful, conveyor belt type toaster. Once through and it's warm bread and so twice through = charcoal ! I settled for warm bread. No eggs yet. I drank some coffee and ate my bread. Then after about 15 minutes I asked about them and was told that the 'Chef' had managed to get the eggs stuck to the pan. Chef ???? Anyway, another 10 minutes passed and 2 perfectly poached eggs arrived. I went up to get other items from the buffet and was told by another guest NOT to take a plate from the plate warmer as they were incredibly hot. So I didn't. Between this guest, his wife and myself we managed to grab the attention of one of the Sloths who muttered something and went and got more plates. Which were the opposite of hot being very cold. So I grabbed myself a couple of sausages, some beans and some miniscule pieces of what were once mushrooms (why do places dice them so, so tiny ?) and added this to my eggs. Then I noticed – no sauces. None. Anywhere. I asked and was surprised how quickly an old ‘dirty' HP sauce bottle came – my food was still warm ! Overall a mixed bag.
We have stayed at Southcrest a few times before and always had a fantastic experience. The hotel is beautiful and fantastic value for money (a 50 minute spa treatment, private hot tub time, 3 course dinner, bottle of Prosecco, over night stay and breakfast - all for under £150!) but what really stands out about Southcrest is the lovely people that work there. No matter what request or issue you have they always go out of their way to help you as much as they can. Can't recommend Southcrest Manor enough and I will continue to rebook in the future.
Very nice place great food the bed was very comfortable . And the garden of the hotel are very pretty Thank you to Elue on the front desk very helpful, So if you fancy a night a way may be considered the this hotel
Rang hotel to check booking on 24/3/22. Unhelpful receptionist gave in incorrect information and changed the room to a ground floor room without permission and didn't change back when we rang her the second time to check nor did she send an email to confirm the change we are booked in on April 3 & I was Very disappointed & upset with the allocated room (015), it was dark freezing cold and then what felt like the basement overlooking the carport & a brick wall! NOT what we are expecting of a first floor room overlooking the garden a double superior room, But ROB Duty manager saved the day by changing room to the original booking. Rob was brilliant, friendly, helpful. Lovely conservatory overlooking the garden. Limited restaurant choices - same menu each night ☹️
Good clean rooms staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is generally good and the bar is good. I have stayed many many times mainly for convenience but it is a hassle free stay and is reasonably priced. In all my time there I hve never had dinner so can't really comment but the plates I have seen look good! I will stay again
Reception staff were lovely - Ellie in particular - despite a slight mishap with being charged for the room despite it having already been paid. Spa treatments were great, really lovely spa staff - although the actual spa facilities are limited. Dirty (brown) stained towels and ripped robes. The room was small but nice and clean - with staff going above and beyond to make the room look great. Shower water pressure is poor, with only one tiny body wash and shampoo for the room, so had to ask reception staff for more. Overall up to this point, the stay was enjoyable and the slight issues were not too frustrating. The dinner is where there were a LOT of issues - especially considering there were only 3/4 tables to deal with. Firstly, ordering our food and never receiving our drinks, followed by starters that seemed to be cooked from frozen. The main was okay. Dessert was profiteroles - where we received 4 dry, clearly slightly old and not fresh profiteroles. Then came trying to get the bill, where we asked one member of staff who 15 minutes later was still walking around and had clearly forgotten, we asked another member of staff who checked the till and our orders had not actually been put in - so he had to ask what we got. Then 10 minutes later we receive a bill which has multiple errors. Another 10 minutes later we eventually get the correct bill and then are able to pay and leave. Every table around us also had bad experiences, with one table having never received garlic bread that they had ordered and the other sending some of their food back. I can understand making errors, but there were literally 3 or 4 tables to deal with during the time we were there between 4 staff members. Overall, dinner service was extremely poor. 1 younger male - potentially a manager - was nice enough - while 2 younger staff (under 18) were clearly poorly trained and had extremely poor customer service abilities - but I guess you can't expect much when they are likely paying minimum wage to extremely young staff.
Do not stay when a wedding is taking place, rooms are very poorly maintained. Spa break includes limited use of jacuzzi and use of saunas, no pool. Broken toaster at breakfast as the toast was getting stuck.
I stayed at this hotel for a wedding and I could not fault the venue or the staff. I have a number of physical and dietary requirements and they were extremely accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic, the staff friendly and helpful and the rooms clean, comfortable and good value. I highly recommend.
Stayed 12/13th March with a friend for a one night spa break. Spa facilities are really poor. There's an outdoor hot tub that looks dirty and in a not very well maintained area. The relaxation room is just a room in the hotel with a couple of sofas, not a proper relaxation room. There is a sauna but it's tiny and in what seemed more like a changing room, so not a spa setting, and you could only really fit 2 people in it, which is fine for social distancing but it's not a comfortable space. Robes were really worn, loop holes broken, really tatty, very disappointing. Spa treatments were lovely though. Hotel rooms are tired and run down, although clean. Main reception area, restaurant and bar were all really nice and the staff were all great which made up for the poor parts. Wouldn't return for a spa break but hotel stay would be ok.
Lovely hotel and setting very quiet and clean comfortable rooms. Food was lovely but staff not trained very well Breakfast room no tables cleared but staff walking around much the same in restaurant but lovely waitress there knew what she was doing but all by herself.
After being let down by a previously booked venue, Southcrest Manor Hotel came to the rescue! With just two weeks to go, Kay Lilley did everything she could to help make my special celebration one to remember. Kay was very professional, friendly and reassuring, which is what I needed. She was just BRILLIANT!! The venue was just the right size and it looked beautiful on the day, everyone commented on it. We had the Laura Ashley afternoon tea which was delicious. I'd also like to thank the lovely Ellie on reception who was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I decided to stay overnight, and enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back!
We have stayed in Southcrest Manor hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. It was surprise for my husband's birthday as we went to watch Aston Villa match in Birmingham. Lovely hotel to break up the journey. We had beer after the match in hotel conservatory which was lovely and quiet on Saturday evening. Room was as always spotless clean thanks to Anna the housekeeper. She is doing amazing job and hotel staff have been extremely helpful and go above and beyond. We had lovely breakfast in the morning and we have booked afternoon tea in Laura Ashley Tea Room. This was really nice highlight to our stay and our daughters loved it. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel for a nice break. We are coming back soon x
We booked for my daughters 18th birthday as an introduction to spa weekends not knowing if she would enjoy it so not wanting to spend a fortune, and for what we paid we can't really complain. The good: 1) The massage was lovely. 2) The staff were fantastic. 3) The breakfast was reasonable. The not so good: 1) The food at dinner wasn't great. My daughter had pasta that was over cooked, with undercooked vegetables and a slab of dry unseasoned chicken with a desert that advertised clotted cream but came with cheap squirt cream from a can. My pizza was burnt on the bottom and my desert of profiteroles had a cardboard like texture (maybe from being defrosted too long before serving?) 2) Whilst clean, the hotel is extremely tired in parts. Huge amounts of condensation gathering on the window sill, and the hot tub area lacking in appeal. 3) The robes were tiny, and very old, with holes or damaged belt hooks, or both. 4) Multiple plates at breakfast were filthy with food still remaining on them after cleaning - not much care taken before placing them out for use. 5) Images of the grounds are misleading. There is a garden area with a small walk but that's it, nothing else to do and the hotel leads to a main road. As someone who has visited multiple spas I would probably not return, as it was not luxurious enough and the hotel needing a fair bit of work to bring it up to an acceptable standard, but for my daughter and her partner as a first time spa it was perfect.
We had a baby shower here with afternoon tea for around 30 people. Can't recommend this place highly enough! We created our own seating plan based on everyone's dietary requirements, expecting a few mistakes as would usually happen elsewhere but everyone was catered for perfectly which I was really happy with. The room and tables were set out on time and looked great. We were allowed to take our own decorations too. Special thanks to the Sales Executive, Kay who helped organise this for us. All the staff on the day were helpful and very efficient. Wouldn't hesitate to return, in fact it will be my first choice for any events in the future. Thank you!!
We had a 30th Birthday Party here for my daughter this month. The room was lovely and the staff were so helpful especially Kay and Craig they couldn't do enough for us and were very accommodating in allocating rooms to our family members. The feedback we received after the party was so positive everyone loved it my daughters friends commented that it was like a wedding! The DJ was brilliant and really got the crowd going. The food was lovely and plentiful and the service was excellent. All in all it was a great night to remember and will remain a great memory for my family. I can't thank you all enough for this wonderful experience.
On the way down south we used this hotel to break up the journey and this was a solid decision. Other than our room being miles away from reception we had no complaints. The young bearded guy from the hotel was particularly helpful at breakfast and we enjoyed a drink in the hotel conservatory in the evening and this was pleasant.
Just got back from a one night stay (10th Feb) with my partner as a surprise treat for his 30th Birthday. I took advantage of the Valentines Offer they had going on and we really enjoyed it and both my partners birthday and our Valentines weekend felt truly special. We were checked in to our superior room by the lovely Ellie who gave us such a warm, smiley welcome and really went above and beyond for us. She is a real gem who clearly has a passion for making sure people enjoy their stay. Prior to our stay I had been conversing with her through email regarding some extras I wanted adding on to the room and some amendments I wanted to make, she ensured my requests were met and never treated me like an inconvenience for making changes and additions. I particularly loved how discreet she was at check in regarding the price and the added extras I requested as a surprise for my partner and discreetly passed me the invoice and spoke evasively so that my partner was oblivious to the little surprises I had added. She advised us that if we needed anything to let her know, everything was perfect but she rang us a few minutes after arriving in the room to ensure we had everything we needed and that it met our expectations, a lovely touch! She then brought us robes and slippers to use so that we could enjoy an hour of uninterrupted alone time in the outdoor hydrotherapy hot tub that she had booked in for us. This was amazing by the way and so relaxing! We were lucky that the sauna and infrared room was also being unused and we enjoyed some time in there uninterrupted. After going back upstairs for a quick shower we noticed there was no hot water, we rang reception who dealt with this promptly (slight boiler issue I believe) and within 30 minutes this was resolved and our hot water was working as expected. We enjoyed a beautiful 3 course meal and drinks in the absolutely stunning Laura Ashley Tea room/Restaurant served by a lovely young waitress who sadly I did not get the name of, she really went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect and giving suggestions of some of the nicest things on the menu, she made our meal feel so personal, relaxed and welcoming. The gentle classical music playing in the background made it extra peaceful. After dinner we headed to the room to relax and it was so comfortable and so peaceful and quiet, the bed was huge! The next morning my partner enjoyed a deep tissue full body massage by Rachel and he said it was so relaxing and he felt amazing afterwards. It was his first massage and spa experience and she made him feel relaxed and comfortable. It was important to me that this experience went off without a hitch and was stress free and enjoyable for my partner to celebrate this milestone birthday and it was honestly a 5 star experience all around and we really look forward to staying again.
Our stay here was purchased as a package, stay dine and unwind Great value for money and would highly recommend Treatments (one 25 min each) and food (evening 2 courses & breakfast) were lovely and our room a superior twin was also very nice Hotel looks as if it has had some recent redecorating which is all very tasteful and in keeping with the building Staff very friendly and professional
Loved our stay at Southcrest hotel! The staff went above and beyond to help us and made us feel at home. The food was great and very reasonably priced. Ellie at reception was so lovely and very helpful! The spa treatments and hot tub were great. Loved it, can't fault it for the price ! Thanks all
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Southcrest Manor this weekend. Husband permitting, I've stayed a few times to get away from the hussle and bussle of family life just to have 24hrs of silence to enjoy a glass of wine (or 2) and just read a book! The last couple of years have seen lockdowns, home schooling and now, securing an amazing but demanding job in a school so this trip has been a long time coming. Considering there was at least one, possibly two parties going on I didnt hear a thing. Room service was quick and efficient and I have to say I was made to feel very welcome by Ellie who checked me in and out. I love the Laura Ashley tea room....great breakfasts guys. Looking forward to my next stay....I hope it's soon!
From start to finish the detail, communication, food and the staff Kay, Ellie, Courtney, Curtis, Amy, Craig and Maddi were AMAZING!!!! So glad we chose to have our Mom and Dad's surprise Ruby Wedding Celebration at the Southcrest Manor Hotel. They went above and beyond for us and helped us make a very special memory, one we will remember forever. From the bottom of our hearts...Thank you all from Wendy, Ian and Rachel xxxx
This hotel probably used to be a 4* years ago. It is in need of serious refurbishment. It was dirty, things found under the bed which were from previous guests. The shower is either scolding hot or off. Breakfast not consistent, had to go downstairs to order room service as nobody ever answers the phone. I could go on ..... Not a great experience.
Visited for friends birthdays and had a wonderful stay. Lovely afternoon tea with great vegan options, good quality evening meal, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, bar prices also reasonable for a hotel. Shame the jacuzzi wasn't open for longer, but understand how hospitality has struggled with staff recently, hopefully once fully staffed it will open for longer. Thankyou for such a lovely visit, will definitely return and recommend
Towards the end of 2021, I booked a Murder Mystery Event for our Works Christmas Party through a Company called Murder57 which was due to take place on the 29th December. Eight of us were due to attend (4 couples) and the price included an overnight stay and breakfast. We paid approximately £650. In line with Government guidelines at the time, we all took LFT tests 24hrs before attending the event. Unfortunately, 4 of us tested positive with a fifth person being extremely unwell and living in Leicester and so not able to travel down with her partner. This left 2 of us able to attend the event, hardly a Works Christmas Do! I rang Murder57 to be told in no uncertain terms that there would be no refund and no alternative due to the lateness of the cancellation. I said to the lady that we could of course have just done the unscrupulous thing and attended putting everyone at risk, but instead had obeyed the rules and were now seriously out of pocket. She very firmly placed the blame at the door of The Southcrest and said she was responding in line with their policy. Following this call, I emailed The Southcrest on the 19th January explaining the situation and as I pointed out, unfortunately COVID does not run to a time schedule and were they so unconcerned about the effects on their reputation that they were not prepared to offer something by way of a small compensation? We certainly weren't expecting at any point to get a refund but to be offered absolutely NOTHING is pretty poor customer service in what are still very challenging circumstances for us all. To date I am still awaiting a response.
Booked the pamper package break for myself and my mom, amazing experience from start to finish. Friendly staff, clean rooms, beautiful grounds, relaxing hot tub and treatments, delicious food and wonderful afternoon tea and an absolute bargain. Chef/s and staff are a wonderful asset to this manor. Definitely making this an annual trip and visiting again this year. The only minor minor area that I think could be improved is getting to the spa area, it is quite confusing first time round as not signed very well and unclear as changing room is on different level etc but as soon as you know it's absolutely fine. Honestly such a wonderful stay and can not wait to return!
We decided to have a midweek break after working over Christmas. The staff went above and beyond. We enjoyed an afternoon tea which was delicious. The breakfast was also lovely. The hotel is in an ideal area, close to Stratford and Birmingham. We would highly recommend.
You would be hard pushed to find a more welcoming and accommodating team of Staff from Bar, Restaurant, Housekeeping than the Southcrest. Sadly, during our stay, they were massively let down by the Hotel. Essentially, presumably because of Covid losses financially, the Southcrest is recouping money as an "event" venue. As residents, we were considered secondary by management although Staff tried to compensate. This is in a beautiful setting and clearly was a 4 Star Hotel at some point in the past, but if you are planning anything more than a stay of two or three nights at best, it is a glorified and expensive "BnB". We were ordering in food during our stay because the kitchen kept closing without notice. Pictures show our takeout in the Hotel lounge. Hardly 4 Star.
Enjoyed another amazing weekend at my favourite local hotel. Love everything about it, Great for any occasion, I have stayed twice previously with my partner and this time celebrating my birthday with friends we had double adjoining rooms which was perfect! Started with a treatment each in the spa, fabulous, followed by an hour in the hot tub and finished in the sauna! Back to our room to get ready for our evening 2 course meal in the beautiful Laura Ashley restaurant - amazing food! Finished with buffet breakfast this morning which Agsin was very good! Special mention to Ellie in reception who cannot do enough to make your stay perfect, the little touches are what makes me want to visit this hotel time and time again Even a birthday card in the room waiting for me, she is a breath of fresh air so friendly, helpful and polite Thank you Ellie and the rest of the team for a perfect weekend stay! Will be back again very soon
Stopped by for one night on our way North and had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, warm, and comfortable enough and the facilities more than adequate. The self service Breakfast next morning was marginally okay, but most of the dishes were warm rather than hot, and the room where it was served was somewhat chilly. All in all it was good, more 3.5 than 4 Stars, but it was Xmas.
Fantastic hotel with delicious food and relaxing lounge bar. The grounds were beautiful and worth exploring. The hotel was spotlessly clean and regularly checked and sanitised We were unable to book spa treatments because we made a last minute hotel booking and the sessions were all pre booked. Next time we visit we will book in advance. All of the staff were extremely helpful and we cannot thank them enough for their professionalism. This is definitely a hotel to return to. Thank you to all concerned.
Good quality hotel Rooms had been refurbished Good good at breakfast But rooms could do with a quality clean, we had missing towels and the bathroom was unclean. We had dressing gowns and slippers. Coffee machine also in room which was a bonus for my partner .
Informed hotel it was our anniversary and when we arrived we were told we had been given a complimentary upgrade. We got to our room and it had been ‘decorated' with petals on the bed and given a box of chocolates. Luvly meal in the bar and very good breakfast in the morning. A wonderful night away!!
What a fantastic evening! The food was lovely and the atmosphere was fantastic! Such a wonderful and fun night out, that was very much needed! We danced and laughed all night! Highly recommend! We will be back!
Beware ….Attended the so called 4 star hotel for a family festive meal, immediately on arrival we were (4 of us) shunted not into the dining room but into the cold conservatory annexe for our ‘festive' meal. The Formica table set up would not have have been out of place at a KFC or a motorway service station. It was as festive as Redditch crematorium in atmosphere and display! The second course took over an hour to be presented and the bill was wrongly presented twice. I was looking at booking an afternoon tea for my birthday in January here, but have a guess what my decision will be ? Terry C W
Stayed here on a work trip for 3 nights. Really lovely place, quiet and secluded, perfect for a few nights stay over. Rooms was clean and to a great standard, included everything I needed. Plenty of parking and was well lit when coming back in the dark. Reception staff were wonderful especially Ellie, she made my stay, ever so helpful and anything I needed was sorted instantly, one of the main reasons why I would return as she was so accommodating, excellent customer service! The cleaning staff were also lovely and made sure that the room was clean and fresh while always being polite. I did not use the restaurant but did see that many people had chosen the hotel for parties etc so I am hoping to try when I return. Helpful information was also given during check in including wifi password and menu. Looking forward to returning in the new year!
40 of us had our Xmas party here on 17th December Excellent food, great venue and well organised with a good DJ Stayed the night in a lovely room with a nice breakfast to follow Excellent room rates for a party night An all round good experience Would definitely recommend Dealt with Kay Lilley who organised the event at the Southcrest
We had our works Christmas party here on 27th Nov 21 it was amazing , great value for money even thou there was 43 of us the food was served quickly and really warm, service was amazing, food was amazing and so is the venue I would definitely recommend this venue. I stayed in a room for the night to save travelling great value for money. Well done southcrest and a huge thank you to Kay who's the events organiser.
Our company went to a Christmas party at The Southcrest Manor last week and we had the best time. The hotel is beautiful with great facilities. All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The atmosphere was festive and welcoming. The food was excellent and very generous portions. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Christmas party Recently attended a Christmas party at this venue in the Laura Ashley room, it was with at least 5 other companies. The service for food was good but the bar service was terrible only one bar witb 2 staff meant queuing for upto 20 minutes to get a drink there was another bar but this for some reason wasn't open. Overall the venue was good except for the bar service
Ellie on reception made our stay! From the moment we arrived she was friendly and professional. We had booked an executive double room which was pretty average but we couldn't get the heating to work. On the way to the hot tub we told Ellie about it and she said she would see what she could do. On return, she said she was unable to fixed the heating so she upgraded us to bridal suite and offered to move our luggage for us. The room was lovely! Later in the evening we went for dinner in the restaurant. The waitress who served us was also fantastic! She was friendly and attended to our every need. Food was nice. Ellie and the waitress even gave me a birthday desert and sang happy birthday! The young lad at the bar was also very friendly and went out of his way to make our requested cocktails (again with some help from a Ellie). When we arrived at breakfast Ellie had put birthday banners around our table and left a birthday card. Again a fantastic much appreciated touch! Breakfast was lovely but it could be better if there was a breakfast menu as I really wanted eggs Benedict as opposed to a full English but it was still very nice. Overall, a fantastic stay in a lovely hotel but special thanks to Ellie who made it extra special.
We stayed for three nights, room was average not superior, black mould on all the windows, terrible condensation in the room not enough ventilation unless you have the windows wide open, but it was cold, feeble heater that didn't work, fan in the bathroom needs to be more powerful, Breakfast ok had better, most of the staff were friendly and helpful
It was a lovely location, set in the middle of trees. The house and environs are lovely, it is only 20 mins walk from the very good shopping centre. The staff were nice, the food was lovely. We had afternoon tea as a packages, which was really lovely and plentiful. Breakfast was also nice, it felt a bit lacking in variety, but what there was was really lovely flavours. The room was comfortable, warm, clean and well presented. My only quibble is that there is not enough sound proofing as the elephants were storming above us. Other than that is was a nice trip and I would return.
After having my baby shower here, i must say how impressed i was. The events manager Kay was so helpful & accomodating. The afternoon tea was lovely, the staff were all so friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble The room was just perfect for what we wanted. Honestly couldnt have asked for a better day or venue And the pricing a lot more reasonable than some other places we enquired about Thank you so much to the whole team for making the day so special.
This hotel is a bit of a mixed bag with good and bad elements. We stayed as a corporate group of a dozen during mid November. First the good. Staff are amazing and food was quite good overall. Lots of parking availability. Great buffet breakfast - hot and cold. An okay dinner menu with ‘some' nice dishes. Light lunch buffet was good and generous. They also do afternoon teas that looked nice and were very popular. All the electric sockets in the bedrooms have USB ports. Ironing board, iron and desk fan provided in the bedrooms. Lots of staff who, while relatively young and British, were actually trained, courteous and professional. The gardens look nice and would be very pleasant to sit out in during the summer. Now the bad. The public areas and bedrooms all look a bit tired and dated. While the bedrooms are well appointed, there was no air-con and they use old fashioned electric panel heaters to heat the bedrooms. They did do the job however and we weren't left feeling cold. We had a elevated (sort of) walk in shower that was efficient but looked dated and overflowed very quickly to drown out the bathroom floor. Other guests had to deal with a very high step over bath with overhead shower. We were only given 1 hand towel to share but we did have 2 nice bath towels. We both got slight burns from touching the electric towel rail, inconveniently mounted between the loo and the sink. There is a lack of disabled facilities. Our meeting room was upstairs and there is no lift or chair lift. In addition to that, we had to troop back downstairs to the reception area if you needed to use the loo. It's not cheap to stay here here and the bar prices reflect this with beer costing £5.10 a pint and a medium wine (175ml) costing £4.80. Would I stay here again? Personally no, but as a corporate venue, it was okay and they did look after us quite well.
Fantastic hotel. Highly recommend. Relaxing bar area, delicious evening meal. Staff were very attentive, extremely polite. Our room was perfect, spacious and a most comfortable king size bed. Reception staff excellent. All spa treatments were fully booked as this was a rather late booking but will try them next time.
I can only say that this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The place was in need of updating and refurbishment. Wallpaper was hanging off the dining room walls. Food was at best a 5 out of 10. Bar prices were extortionate. Rooms were dirty and dilapidated. Curtains thick with dust. Carpets not hoovered. Sticky marks on furniture. Toilet not cleaned properly. Quilt was so so old inside the cover. Decoration and paintwork badly needed. The place smelled musty. The gym was pathetic. The place is just awful. Avoid avoid avoid.
We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The afternoon tea was delicious, as was our evening meal. We also enjoyed a couple of spa treatments and the hot tub. All of the staff from were very attentive and friendly. Despite the fact that a wedding was being held there and they were very busy, they still made an effort to mark the occasion we were celebrating. The room was excellent and very clean. The hotel grounds are lovely and scenic and the hotel itself is very cosy. I would definitely recommend a stay here to others.
Not the first time we have visited this hotel and it won't be the last. The hotel is absolutely, lovely grounds. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Bar prices are steep. A pint of cider and a pot of tea nearly £9. Didn't get to use the sauna despite best intentions do will do that next time. Recommended this hotel to anyone.
Hotel appears nice from the outside, room was poorly decorated with plud sockets loose and patches of missing carpet attempted to be hidden by a waste bin. Unable to use the spa , when I enquired about it the staff seemed unhelpful and said the spa was booked for the full 3 days we were there.
Stayed for one night and it was amazing. The staff were excellent, and couldn't do enough for us. The Spa was wonderful and the food was great. The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds and was so relaxing.
staff friendly spa treatment was fabulous restaurant was nice, really nice weekend would defiantly stay again if in the area not much to do in Redditch but the bus museum is a must only 5.00 for adult to get in really good few hours well worth a visit
Large comfortable room with an enormous , comfy bed. A nice ambience in the restaurant for a pleasant evening meal. A good buffet breakfast. Plenty of parking. Helpful staff. A good price for the accommodation.
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and is a pleasure relax in. My room was clean, well presented and spacious. The hotel facility's are convenient, all of the staff are friendly, very helpful and have a relaxed confident attitude. I was very happy during my stay and would definitely stay again.
What a great few days away at your hotel it was clean comfortable with a great brekkie and very pleasant staff had a slight issue but nothing serious enough to write about more of an observation great place that is near to Birmingham and easy to get around
Booked a night package with a couple of treatments in the spa and dinner and breakfast. AMAZING!! Hotel was lovely, staff were so polite, courteous and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely rebook in the near future. Huge thanks to Simon and the team.
I held my daughter's baby shower at Southcrest on 4th October and would highly recommend it . Kay was my contact for the booking and was so helpful , always replying to my emails promptly and answering any questions I had . It made the day very easy knowing everything was so well organised . The room we hired was perfect and the afternoon tea absolutely amazing . The reception and waiting staff were also very helpful and friendly . Thank you !
Sad to say that this is by far the worst spa I have ever visited. The relaxation room consisted of a a small room with 2 sofas, alongside a toilet in the corner of the room. The changing room area was so small that no more than 2 people could fit in. The message was held in a bright lit room. Anything but relaxing. Overall, hugely disappointed and would never return. The only thing I can say is that the hotel in general was decent enough; just avoid the spa.
Stopped at the hotel for our wedding anniversary, staff were lovely, polite and genuine, room was lovely, roomy, high ceilings, warm but not overly hot, big bathroom. Set in some lovely grounds to sit and have a drink or your morning coffee. Even the food was good. Will be back.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here on 6 October. We're delighted that we selected this hotel. From the initial call to the hotel, when I spoke with Ellie, through to all of the restaurant and housekeeping staff, we had 1st class service. My husband is ill and so it was important that this visit was a good as it could have been. The staff, not aware of this fact, attended to our every need!! We simply cannot fault our overnight stay. The food was great, breakfast was cooked to perfection and the evening meal was excellent too. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our ground floor room was superb. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. We hope to visit again!! Keep up the great work!!
Simply amazing everything was just perfect. Lovely polite staff fabulous food beautiful & clean rooms. Kay the wedding planner was just brilliant. Couldn't of been happier everyone went went out of their way to make it a wedding to remember
I had arranged my afternoon birthday celebration tea for our family and friends. The room was bright and very clean and the tables were nicely laid out when we arrived. Our afternoon tea was served right on time. Served on cake stands there was plenty of choice and all our guests said how much they had enjoyed it. The children in our party of 48 were served there own child sized teas as we had arranged. We had a very pleasant afternoon in nice surroundings with friendly and courteous staff. I would like to say how helpful Kay was with managing our booking. No-one actually stayed overnight at the hotel on this occasion but we have in the past and have found it very comfortable with great service.
Were to start! Only good thing I can say about this establishment is that the messages are amazing. The ladies in the spa (although treatment rooms a tiny gym a tiny sauna and jacuzzi do not make a spa in) were absolutely lovely but would benefit from working in spa elsewhere. Now for the rest of this so called 4 star hotel!! receptionist needs training her service was beyond poor as someone working at the front of house you expect to be greated with at least a smile! Not someone who face looked as though they dont want to be there. The restaurant just needs closing down afternoon tea disgusting, dinner disgusting and breakfast that the receptionist asked if we wanted to be brought to the room did not arrive. When querying what had happened she asked who we arranged it with like she didnt remember us now as the I didn't see another guest of my colour within the establishment how exactly are you forgetting us!!! The beds are tiny and pillows were so thin i woke up so sore in the morning making my massage the day before pointless. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere there are mamy lovely hotel/spas within the West Midlands this unfortunately is not one of them
3 nights b&b. good hotel; very helpful staff; very good food; small but adequate gym. enjoyed my stay. a couple of hiccups in reservations were quickly and effectively dealt with. attractive surroundings.
We stayed 2 nights for a family wedding in the local area. First impressions were good and the staff were lovely. Our room was a long way away which initially seems a nightmare but our 3 year old loved the journey every time. The room: big enough for 3 and we didn't feel on top of one another. It was clean but very tired looking, chipped paint/ripped wallpaper. The beds were soft for us but that is a personal opinion. Shower/bath were hot and powerful and towels soft and big. We were below ground level and there was an overwhelming air freshener smell, we can only assume to hide the smell of damp. The lighting could definitely be improved to make it seem less dingy and dark in the corridors. The food: we ate in the restaurant one night, the waiter was excellent and very accommodating to our needs. He was excellent with our little one and the food was very good. For a hotel we thought dinner and drinks were reasonably priced. Breakfast, which was included in our package, was buffet style and we had no complaints but we were there early both days. Things seemed more organised on our second trip and move refilling etc in place. The staff: every member of staff we met were lovely, excellent with children and happy. The staff really are a credit to the place and looked happy to be working Overall our stay was pleasant and it suited our needs for being away. If some love and money was put into the building and decor this place would be outstanding.
My husband and I stayed here for one night following me having an operation locally, my husband had to check in before collecting me from the hotel and the reception staff were extremely helpful in asking if we needed a closer a room to which we took. When I arrived at the hotel with my husband they were very pleasant and we requested more pillows for the room which they brought up promptly. On leaving the hotel the next day they receptionist asked if i was ok and was very friendly and even gave us bottles of water for our journey. They couldn't have been more accommodating. We had room service in the evening and I only had toast, unfortunately this arrived cold. My only criticism would be that the bed could of been bigger.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Southcrest. The hotel is full of character. There is a friendly feel. Whilst the decor may be a little tired in places, the style of decor is still beautiful and it doesn't matter. It's in beautiful setting. I've stayed at 3 other hotels in the area and this is defnitely my fabourite!
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The superior room that I booked was good value, I thought at £85 with breakfast included. Breakfast is a buffet style so if you like your food freshly cooked its better to go early. I was staying at the far end of the hotel and it is a long walk up and down stairs and along corridors with bags so if you're infirm I would recommend phoning reception first to book a room that is close to the entrance. Overall though the location and grounds are very attractive and it is in a good place to visit places such as Worcester and the northern Cotswolds as well as Hanbury Hall nearby.
Fantastic service, beautiful relaxing ambiance, and delicious food... couldn't ask for anything more!! Elle at Reception was very polite and genuinely interested, whilst still being professional. My message was well worth waiting for! Can't wait to visit again ❤️
Nice place. Room was decent no complaints. Reception were helpful and all professional but a standout was the night porter who's name I'm now tragically blanking on now as it's been a week or two (possibly Bradley?) An absolute gent, very friendly and went the extra mile for me and the other guests I was with that evening.
I stayed here for two nights for a reunion. This usually happens at different venues on an annual basis. In this instance we hadn't met since 2019 but the numbers had increased slightly which is good. We all had a great time - the dinner in the private room was superb and the staff couldn't do enough for us - they were great as was the banter. The overall cost for two night B & B plus the Dinner was the most competitive I have come across. I would give my three course meal 5*. A big 'thank you' to the chef - she did a wonderful job aided and abetted by the staff who served it very promptly. I have OCD regarding hot plates and hot food. You get 5* for that as well!
What a fantastic time we had on our wedding day, kay (our wedding coordinator) was fantastic throughout the whole time of planning our wedding, she made us feel so relaxed and helped us every step of the way, nothing was to much trouble,a big thank you to kay and the rest of the staff who went above and beyond to make our day perfect. We had our wedding ceremony at the hotel, the staff worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure our day went seamlessly from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast to the reception on the evening. All our guest commented on how lovely the food was and how each room was set out. Most of our family stayed over and loved the buffet breakfast in the morning, all saying what a lovely night sleep they had. We had a fantastic day we will remember it for the rest of our lives . We would definitely recommend the southcrest manor and we will be popping in frequently to reminisce x Luan and Chris
Pleased with the food and service! We came in for a Sunday lunch yesterday and we all left feeling filled up and happy with the service provided to us, so we gave a tip. However, we would have preferred a cooler setting so could do with air conditioning
I couldn't fault the hotel at all , Kay lily was fantastic having to move wedding date 3 times covid ! . She took all the stress out of it for me . The team on day were fault less , but I will say a massive thank you to Curtis who went above and beyond . Loved the day and guests didn't want to leave southcrest manor , most stayed over and had the fab breakfast , dawn & mark hawkins xxxx
My daughter and myself booked into this hotel via booking.com as we thought it looked very nice and was close to the event we were attending. We usually tend to stay in 4 star in this country whether it is for business or pleasure. When approaching the hotel my first thoughts were this is lovely. But that is where the compliments end I'm afraid. My daughter checked us in and was then told she would have to leave a deposit over the top of the room rate which was refundable after our stay. This is the first time this has ever been asked for at any 4 star or above hotel I have visited. We stayed in a ground floor twin which is tiny but served the purpose which was to have somewhere to sleep. I really wouldn't want to spend any longer than necessary in the room as you would feel very closed in. The decor although when fitted was good quality this has now been let get e.g dirty grouting paint missing wallpaper coming away. Also the toiletries were minimal with only a small bath/shower shampoo being left. I think the most disappointing thing is this hotel could be amazing but it looks like this is used heavily as a wedding venue with little thought put into the rest of the hotel and guest stays.
We were greeted well, the receptionist on check in was lovely and polite. The rooms were dingy and small, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the floor in the bathroom was dirty in the corners. The door frame to the bathroom looked like a child put it on. There was no mini fridge. The description says additional twin bed or full sized single, its was cabin sized. The hot breakfast buffet was freezing. The staff on the buffet was miserable and obviously did not want to be there. The best part om the stay was the toast.
I recently got married at the southcrest and all the staff were amazing, kay and her team went above and beyond to make our day special, the hotel was exceptionally clean, food was amazing and catered for all ours and our guests needs. The whole process of booking and organising through these difficult times of covid was made stress free and with ease, the whole team at the hotel work so hard to ensure all there guests have a wonderful time no matter the reason for there stay, we have stayed many times and have always had the same outstanding service hence booking our wedding here, we look forward to staying again soon
We have just had our wedding at Southcrest Manor Hotel and it could not have been better. Kay, the events manager was lovely, she communicated well, was always available and made us feel very relaxed. We went for Afternoon tea as our wedding breakfast and it was gorgeous, plenty of good and so many cakes, everyone said how nice the scones were. All the staff were friendly and approachable, and nothing was too much trouble, they all made our day go without any hitches. If you want friendly and helpful, relaxed, smart without being stuffy, and affordable, this is the place, would definitely recommend it, loved every minute. Visit the Tea Rooms for a delicious cream tea, you will not be disappointed.
My friend and I stayed here to go to my son's wedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our standard twin was exactly what we needed clean, very comfortable beds and very quiet for a good night sleep. We were contacted by the hotel before our stay to say the hotel had a number of weddings on and would be busier than normal. Actually that had no effect on our stay. Breakfast was lovely and again waiting staff very attentive. Only one area that needs attention is the Ladies toilets on the ground floor I realise unfortunately guests do leave a mess but at 8.30 in the morning they should be spotlessly clean and they certainly were not. Not just the paper on the floors but long term grimey floors and walls! Public areas should be as clean as guest areas. If this was addressed I would give 5 stars.
Me and my partner have now stayed at the hotel twice. The afternoon tea is lovely. Scones were fresh, nice selection of sandwiches and chocolate pot was amazing. We used the hot tub, which is a nice addition and would recommend booking if you get a chance. Breakfast was nice, we did have to wait for a few items to be restocked, but a nice cooked breakfast. On our first stay the executive room was large and had traditional furniture. On our second stay the standard room was more modern and a nice size. The view out the back of the hotel is nicer and looks onto the grounds.
I was in need of a period of respite from nursing a very poorly relative. This hotel offered everything an more that I needed. A lovely room, an extremely comfortable bed. The meals in the Restaurant were rather special, the service excellent. And the lounge overlooking the gardens provided a tranquil stay overlooking the magnificent gardens I have already rebooked to take my husband there as it will help him greatly.
From check in to check out our stay was fantastic. Excellent staff, excellent customer service, the room exceeded expectations. Dinner and breakfast were perfect (covid compliant and yet everything still offered). Outstanding value for money. We wouldn't hesitate to recommended to friends and family and will definitely be returning again soon.
Good afternoon, The service, beauty treatment and food was excellent. The Duty manager immediately sorted out the issue with the first room we where allocated …which was much appreciated for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The overnight break with cream tea, hour's beauty treatment, dinner with a bottle of Prosecco in the evening, and breakfast is excellent value @ £105 each, we would highly recommend. We have stayed at the hotel several times and will definitely be back soon.
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel, 1 was for our 10 year anniversary and the second was for a friends wedding. We paid for an upgrade and my husband ordered Prosecco and flowers to the room. We had dinner in the hotel and although I cannot fault the staff, the food was less than mediocre. I left quite a large amount due to not being able to chew it! However, the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. What the hotel failed to tell us was that our room was above a wedding reception that went on until gone 12:30am making the cups in our room rattle it was so loud. I'm not sure what they were thinking by putting non wedding guests above the wedding. I sent an email of complaint that night and in the morning received a reply with a £10 good will gesture. Not suitable for such an awful nights sleep. I complained again and no one responded, even to this day, however they did discount 25% from our food bill upon checking out but still no one had spoken to me about it. If you book an upgrade, be warned that you hear everything going on in the car park as that's what you overlook, above the reception entrance, so when people roll in at 3am and bang on the doors - you hear it. And when the food truck arrives at 6:45am - you hear it! The shower could only be described as a dribble so I had to run a bath. Not a comfortable stay at all.
The reviews were a little varied so wasn't expecting much from our last minute night away. What a pleasant surprise. Booked the date night package which is incredibly good value. £25 each in the restaurant plus a bottle of Prosecco included.. Food was lovely. We had a nice room, paid extra for executive ( not a lot extra) and it was spacious, clean and pretty, but it's the restaurant and conservatory area that are particularly pretty with the view of the garden The staff are also a credit to the hotel as well, friendly and helpful. I can see that there are areas that need a little work- the garden could be spectacular. All in all though, especially considering we are coming out of a Pandemic, I can't fault our experience.
2nd visit in last few months. Good value hotel. Clean. Central location. Welcoming and helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Will definitely visit again. Had a facial this time, only wish I'd had more time for another treatment.
So disappointed, the pictures and reviews made this sound like such a treat, and it was far from it. Our superior room was definatley not one of the ones in the pictures, broken usb sockets unable to even charge our phones, and had to get out of bed to turn of the light! the toiletries were not Elemis and we had a tiny bottle of shampoo and shower gel between both of us. Breakfast was a shambles, with people waiting for breakfast items bacon, eggs etc, there was never some of everything at one time. will not be returning.
Booked this hotel for a one night stay as going to a wedding reception near by . Great facilities , clean , comfortable amazing value for money, will definitely go back , highly recommend..,,..,.......,.........................................,..
Booked this for an overnight stay to break up a road trip. Was a lovely place to stay with two rooms for us and two children. Rooms were clean and modern. Bar and grounds were lovely and the morning breakfast was great.
Centrally located, this hotel offers great value, secluded tree lined gardens and plenty of outside space. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and tidy snd the staff are professional and friendly. Rob in particular made our stay very pleasurable, a great sense of humour, very helpful and a great ambassador for the company! Thank you!
The hotel was all it needed to be. The staff were all polite and helpful. The room was clean and the restaurant we enjoyed dinner in was well run with great food and atmosphere. The surrounding gardens had a lovely atmosphere and were great to sit and rest in with the good weather!
Stayed here for my anniversary with my girlfriend in an executive room. The service was really good and the food was delicious. The hotel itself was really pretty. The only downside was that it was busy but that can be forgiven.
Firstly the staff even though some are clearly very new are awesome. They could not be more helpful and professional. The food is pricey but pretty good. The accomodation sadly is awful. We got twin beds (maybe we look like a couple that's been together 24 years and that's why lol) no idea why, the room was unbearably hot and after the first night I opened the Windows but closed the curtains to keep the sunlight out only for the room staff to have opened them and we came back to room at 27 degrees! The rooms we have seen are just tired sadly. As someone who travels a lot for work I just can't recommend the hotel.
Great hotel for visiting the Game Fair with nice staff such as Rob in the restaurant. With tasteful decor and lovely afternoon tea in the Laura Ashley room. The staff are great and the breakfast is perfect.
We stayed at the hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal for two nights. There was plenty of parking, reception was very welcoming and our room was clean and comfortable. The weather was fantastic so we sat on the terrace with a drink outside and it was just perfect. The dinner was great on both nights. The service was good and all the food arrived lovely and hot. The breakfast was good too with plenty of choice. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the area - we spent a day at Stratford on Avon and then the Cotswolds. All in all a great stay and great value for money.
We had our wedding at Southcrest on 9th July 2021 and we couldn't have asked for our day to go any better than it did. The staff were so polite, helpful and accommodating. The food was amazing and a lot of our guests said it was the best meal they'd had at a wedding. Our whole experience from our first visit, through planning to the actual day was perfect. So effortless and not at all stressful, even through the pandemic and us having to postpone 3 times. I was a bit of an OCD bride and wanted to do everything myself to know it was all right, but even how the staff set up the room and all our wedding things was exactly how I would've done it. The following day all our wedding items had been safely stored and packaged ready for us to take home and even as we were leaving the staff were friendly and helpful. As for the venue itself, it's such a beautiful setting, the gardens remind me of the secret garden (film) and the venue rooms plus bedrooms were beautifully clean (something I always notice). And the Elemis soap in the bathrooms, beautiful!! Haha… plus, for any brides, the toilets are big enough to fit your wedding dress and someone to help you go. We couldn't go down for breakfast the next day because we were too hungover after the wedding but we had breakfast brought to us in the room and it was lovely. I honestly couldn't fault the experience at all. My husband has said we'll definitely be returning for all future events and I completely agree. Thank you so much to all the staff at Southcrest for making our wedding day so easy and perfect.
Please note, I never write negative reviews, but believe the hotel needs to be aware of the ‘constructive criticisms' as the hotel has lots of potential but our stay was very below expectations. Me and my partner stayed on 17th July for one night for our anniversary. Our package included an executive room, afternoon tea, 3 course dinner, a bottle of wine and breakfast. We also paid for early check in. A brief summary of our stay would be: hotel appearance is nice but needs a lot more care, staff are welcoming but very short staffed and all work very long hours, therefore long waiting time for everything, customer attention and care is lacking. Hotel is not worth the cost they charge. Upon arrival the girl behind reception was welcoming, explained where our room was and where we would be eating. Walking up to the room, there was lots of drinks and plates on the floor outside rooms - we guessed the cleaners had took them out of rooms and left them on the floor, however these were left for hours and we walked past them many times. The executive room was spacious and clean. The bathroom smelt of very stagnant water. We asked at reception where the spa was as we had booked the hot tub. She advised there would be towels and robes waiting for us in the spa. Once we finally found the changing rooms (not easy to find), there was no towels or robes and no spa staff anywhere to help us. We had to go back to reception and asked for towels, but they didn't have any and said they would get some sent to the hot tub for us. About 5-10 minutes later, once already in the hot tub, a member of staff then left some towels out for us. The spa changing rooms are tiny, any more than 3 people and it is too many! We wanted to go in the relaxation room, but no more than 4 people can fit and there was already people in there. The sauna was also out of service. We had booked afternoon tea for 2:30pm, but still had to wait at least 5 minutes to be seated, as though they weren't expecting us. Once sat down, the staff were friendly and food was really lovely. Scones were fresh, nice selection of sandwiches and the chocolate pot was amazing. After eating, we asked the staff for the best walks around the grounds, but 2 staff both said they had no idea… not very helpful. We have dinner booked for 7:30pm, we waited in a queue for 10 minutes outside the restaurant, then they couldn't find our booking and asked if we even had booked. They then quickly laid us a table. The host then sat at elderly couple literally 30cm away from us – absolutely no thought for social distance and we all felt very uncomfortable with being so close. The other couple moved their table further away, but still within 1 meter. 20 minutes went on, no one acknowledged us or the table next to us. All staff ignored us. I got fed up of waiting and went to find a food and drinks menu myself, although no staff were around so it still took a while to find someone. When the wine arrived it was warm, but there was no staff around to tell, so we gave up waiting and just drank it. The staff at dinner service were the same staff we'd seen throughout the day, clearly at this point all shattered from running about all day and they didn't care for the customers. The pate starter had 1 piece of rock-solid bread. The pizza was ok but burnt on the outside and soggy in the middle. We also ordered a side of chips that never arrived so we asked to make sure we weren't charged. Our main plates were left on the table for a long time and we wanted to order desert, however again no staff in sight. I ended up having to go to reception to ask for a desert menu and to send someone over to take our order… very unacceptable! The desserts took about 15 minutes to arrive. The waffle was clearly out of a packet, warmed up for about 5 seconds, and the cream was horrible and warm. My partner had ice cream, it came out melted and dripping all down the sides of the dish, he tried one bit and left it. During each course, not once did a member of staff asked us how the meal was, and there was no staff around to even explain what was wrong with the food! We were the second-last couple to leave the restaurant (about 9:50pm) and 90% of the tables were a complete mess, none of them had been cleared from dinner throughout the night. No staff around to tidy or even speak to, very unacceptable! Had we have been asked about our meal…. we would have asked for a replacement cold bottle of wine (not warm), some fresh bread (and more of it) to go with the pate (not rock-solid), a fresh pizza, for our side of chips to actually arrive and a fresh desert. At breakfast the host was welcoming. But there was no plates or bowls for the buffet and they had ran out of eggs and orange juice. Also only a couple of items of the remaining foods left. The food we did have was nice. We did notice the host was very busy running around helping, which meant guests walking into breakfast had no idea where to go or what to do. Would we stay again? Not unless they make major improvements. We would only consider it if they had more staff and trained them to have attention to detail. Also, a proper chef and fresh food would have been nice! It is a shame, because the hotel appearance is lovely and set within lovely grounds. However, the lack of staff really affected our stay, with long waiting times and lack of care towards us and the service they provide. The staff cannot be blamed, as you can tell they're trying their best… but there is only so much you can do with a few staff running a whole hotel. Throughout our whole stay, we spoke to other guests who all felt the same, but we all got fed up of complaining so ‘put up with' the lack of service you provided.
A wonderful experience from start to end. This was a special time celebrating my mum's 70th birthday. We had an excellent time. All the staff were really nice, friendly and approachable. It was very well organised.
Spent a lovely weekend here meeting up with friends as COVID restrictions were eased. Fantastic spa, afternoon tea and dinner package. The staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely wanted to be helpful. Spa treatments and hot tub use were a real treat. The afternoon tea was the best I've had in a long time and the dinner was delicious. Will definitely be coming again!
Have been before 2018 so was disappointed , it felt like they was just hanging on, apart from having to be moved due to curtain hanging of the rail, which was great I thank them for a great night's sleep, lack of staff as they had to do many jobs, ie service the restaurant and bar, so you had to press bell for service, limited menu or very peared down, it was OK but won't be coming back
We had to find local accommodation while our bedroom was being painted and my wife recommended this hotel as she had been previously for afternoon tea. Its decorated in the style of Laura Ashley (so my wife tells me) and worth a visit if you are familiar with Laura Ashley (or not). The room price was very acceptable to us and well worth the value when you can consider that WiFi, spa, and gym facilities were included at no extra cost. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our visit to the hotel We did not eat there as we arrived after 2200hrs each night and were gone before 0700hrs (had to be home before the painter arrived). But, we did visit the bar every night and found the setting to be pleasant. There is a garden too if the weather is kind
I went for a girls weekend and have a great time. The location is perfect to sit back and relax and catch up with friends. The food was really yummy. The room was standard - but clean and we didn't need anything fancy. The main thing was the staff - they were so friendly and welcoming and made our stay even better.
Overall had an amazing stay. Very helpful and supportive receptionist couldn't help enough. Easy check in. Everything you could need in bedroom, lovely view. We ate in restaurant the food was really nice and we had a bottle of prosecco included in package as well as breakfast. Use of hot tub gym and sauna included. We would definitely return.
The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast were all lovely and the hotel grounds extensive for our amble around following all that good food. Really enjoyable stay.
I've just returned from a pamper package at Southcrest Manor. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The service was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond all of our requests. Everything was perfect and the afternoon tea was incredible. Everything was so fresh. The covid regulations that were in place were great. My friend and i are already looking at when we can come again!!
Beautiful location. Room wasn't ready on arrival. We were made to wait 1 and half hour for room, and wasn't told when it was ready. Gym facilities lovely. Breakfast was self service, not much choice and had limited range for vegetarians. Inconsistent re enforcing guests using sanitizer and wearing masks in buffet location. Room beds were comfortable.
We visited southcrest manor hotel for a spa visit, for the day. We hadnt visited this place before but we attended to reception to check in and were told to just follow the coridor/down the stairs to the spa area, noone showed us where to go or what the day would consit of. So we were left walking around having to figure out where to go and start off our spa experience. (The lady in the beauty room Rachel was amazing, so friendlyand did an amazing job at our treatments and making us feel relaxed. She showed us where to go initially, but this should of been explained at the main reception by the duty manager when we first arrived).... There was only one hot tub and when we got there there were already people in and as soon as they come out we were left to go straight in. Outside by the hot tub and outside the beauty room, the grounds were a bit of a mess, dead leaves, the slabs were filthy, there were hanging baskets around with dead plants hanging out of them bone dry. The garden was not looked after. This area would be beautiful and so relaxing if there was table and chairs as the sun was shining all day for us, but nowhere to sit... The laura ashley tea room was stunning decor, but the food and customer service was very very poor. We had one lot of tea/coffee the whole time we were there for afternoon tea, we were handed our afternoon tea on a 3 tier stand with a massive hair hanging over the sandwiches, we told the staff, he pulled the hair off, threw it on the floor, appologised but only took the plate that the hair was on to replace, didnt take the whole tier stand. The milkleft floaters in our teas, which they did change after we told them, but we just didnt get anyone come back to us to see if we needed more drinks or anythin else after. So had one lot for the 2 hours we were there... We really cant fault Rachel the beautician, she really made our spa experience special, very chatty friendly and did a fantastic job for us. Just a shame about everythin else we experienced. I know with covid its been hard but there just didnt seen to be any staff around to help or assist us... the only person who kept checking on us even in the relaxation room was Rachel the beautician.
Quality stay. Room clean and had a really lovely view of gardens. No issues throughout our stay. Easy reach of Warwick and Stratford upon avon. Gym and hot tub available. Breakfast in relaxing environment. No aircon and bed a little hard for us All staff kind and helpful
Would recommend staying here - very friendly, helpful, clean. Great room - everything you need. Hairdryer didn't work - replaced it straight away. Lovely food - afternoon tea spot on - evening meal lovely - breakfast was good - plenty to choose from - full english, cereals, toast, croissants, orange juice, tea, coffee. Enjoyed hot tub and treatments with Rachel. Would definitely go again!
Bed was uncomfortable, there was wet towels in the cupboard. Condom wrappers in the draw, broken glass on the floor. We had to wait a hour at the restaurant for drink order, then another 30minutes for our food order, then they diddnt have much to order. Rude management and staf. Booking.com stated you diddnt have to book the hot tub but the hotel said we did, and was booked till 3pm the day but from our hotel room the hot tub was available all night. Won't be staying there again.
Ease of booking, polite and professional staff. My stay at the Southcrest Hotel was very enjoyable. Clean, well appointed rooms. Very nice and great value breakfast. The location of the hotel is just outside of Redditch along a beautiful entrance. The facilities are very nice. Booking in and out was very efficient.
We come to Redditch a number of times a year. This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel as our usual one was fully booked. But to be fair think we may be staying here again. The room was modern, clean and had everything you needed. The staff were friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for you. Unfortunately we did not plan enough ahead so did not get to use the on site spa facilities that were complimentary for guests staying the hotel. We had a meal in the dining room on our first evening which again was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised at the buffet breakfast again excellent. Because of all the trees around the grounds it does feel like you are in the middle of nowhere which is also an excellent point for this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again but will be planning a bit more ahead so that we can enjoy the full facilities on offer at this hotel.
We had an overnight stay at Southcrest Manor Hotel; we upgraded to an executive bedroom and it was very spacious, with good facilities. We had dinner on arrival, with breakfast and afternoon tea the following day, and the food was nice, albeit a reduced menu being offered, possibly due to the current situation around restrictions. The beauty rooms located in the hotel offered treatments and use of the sauna and a hot tub, and we felt pampered with the massages and facials we chose; our therapist was both very skilled and knowledgeable. We would recommend an indulgence in a mini break at Southcrest Manor Hotel to recharge your batteries in tranquil, natural surroundings away from the noisy hustle and bustle of city life.
We had such a great stay at Southcrsst Manor. The decor in the hotel was lovely, the staff were very helpful, the massage was amazing and the food was second to none - it was presented really nicely and there was plenty of it. We had a spa package which included afternoon tea, 3 course evening meal with Prosecco, 1 hour spa treatment and breakfast. It was excellent value for money. In fact, the only thing i can criticise was the lack of drinking water!
Although slightly dated, the room was clean and comfortable. Despite Covid, they provided a hot breakfast (Veggie sausage sandwich, crossiant and jam, fruit salad and orange juice. A huge shout out to the Receptionist, Shannon for helping me with my lost earring.
All staff followed Covid rules, so we felt very safe. Check in and out was very efficient. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Ate evening meal and breakfast in our room. Alfresco dinning was available but the weather was bad. Would like to return after Covid restrictions have been lifted to try their afternoon tea in the Laura Ashley Tearoom.
We had such an amazing time in such a pretty igloo overlooking the gardens. The servers were attentive and we were plenty warm enough surrounded by heaters and blankets. The fairy lights were adorable and the mezze menu was delicious. There was so much food we all had doggy bags to take home! A fantastic night.
I booked an igloo with 5 friends for mezze and prosecco. We had a great evening, it was covid safe, as we are still only permitted to meet outside, but cosy, with comfortable chairs and nice faux fur throws, and pretty fairy lights. The mezze board was huge, lovely selection of breads, meats. Cheeses, dips, nuts and Olives. It was all fresh and the breads arrived warm. There was so much we took doggy bags home. I would highly recommend. Friendly helpful staff too.
For our 1st evening out together after lockdown, me and 5 friends chose the Southcrest Manor igloo package. We were looked after by Alan and it was very relaxing, I must say. The igloo is kitted out with cuddly throws and twinkly lights, which were very pretty when it went dark. For food, we had a savoury mezze board and a dessert mezze board, which were beautifully presented and really lovely. The package includes half a bottle of prosecco each, but you can obviously order other drinks too. We would definitely recommend the Southcrest Igloo.
We stayed 27th and 28th March while our daughter had a procedure at Burcot Hall Hospital. Can't speak to highly of the Hotel and Staff excellent grounds would definetly recommend Phil & Chrissy Doncaster
Stayed here for a second time .the room we stayed in was a family room ,it was very spacious everything needed for a family Warm welcome off staff .Thankyou Jake and Shannon for looking after us in these dark times . Already booked again for next month !
Two nights for business. Covid restrictions apply do a bit tied to the room but the room was comfy and clean. Room service was ok food fine. Tv wasn't working so used my phone - WiFi was fine. Shower average. Breakfast bag ok but bacon very salty and bun awful! Parking good. I will stay again. Staff friendly. Good value for money
I stayed at the southcrest manor with my partner for a close family funeral. The staff at the hotel were fabulous! They couldn't do enough to help us. It had been a tough emotional day, the check in process was easy and not stressful, they upgraded our room. The room was beautiful, just what we needed after a hard day. The bed was comfy and the bath was relaxing! Breakfast was great and good value. They bought us tea, filtered coffee to our room in the morning too. Thankyou for making our stay easy and welcoming under the circumstances- I would definitely recommend and stay again!
Hotel very clean, lovely room with plenty of tea/coffee. Staff were very helpful I called hotel before booking and was reassured about the hotel and my stay ,this helped enormously, and same person on reception when I checked in which was nice. It was a very comfortable stay and I felt save.
