« Average in every sense »

Rooms are somehow outdated. No restaurants in close walking distance - 20+ minutes to get to a reasonable restaurant / sports-bar. Area seems to be save, also confirmed by the receptionist. Some rooms are in the souterrain: Probably quiter but no view.

« Convenient to Subway, Highway & Train Stations »

No frills, but clean & comfortable. Great location for transportation, Subway/Train Stations/Highways/Airports. It is along the busy Van Wyck expressway so there is traffic noise. Breakfast is quite good for a free continental breakfast.

« Not a Good Choice for Light Sleepers »

Chose this place for a short, late night parkling and rest stop on the way to JFK for early morning flight. As far as the straegic location to JFK and free parking go, it did the job. Rooms were realtively clean (aside from thick layer of dust on the heavy, old curtains), but tiny, dated and unpleasant furnishsings and bathroom. But since I chose this for a stopover not a leisure stay would still would have rated it four stars-- if it weren't for the ridiculously loud, clanking old HVAC unit that sounded like a jackhammer and made it very hard to sleep. Finally gave up and turned it off for some silence (well aside from the constant highway noise). Overall not a great option even for an overnight. Cheap but that's about it.

    « Did the job! »

Booked hotel very last minute as a overnight airport stay. Very small basic reception and out room was a few doors away on the ground floor. Pleasantly surprised with are room which was a decent size. A little dated but very clean and very comfy beds. Nice size bathroom with complementary toiletries and plenty of towels for the four of us. Price included breakfast which is always a bonus. Breakfast room was small but clean. Lady was constantly topping up the food which consisted of fruit, yoghurts, bread, pastries, eggs, sausage & fresh make your own waffles. Reception were lovely and friendly. All in all a pleasant stay. Taxi from JFK to hotel was $20and from hotel to Times Square was $65.

    « Ok »

If like me you don't know if you need jfk or la gaurdia airport this is right between the two. Basic, safe, clean and friendly. Good breakfast, gym, business centre, amenities nearby inc car hire, eateries etc

« Clean, comfortable and great location »

We stayed one night. Free parking is available and we used Ubers to get to our family's home from there. The front desk staff was very pleasant, hotel hallways clean, rooms were very clean, beds very comfortable, bedding and towels very nice, nice shower with plenty of hot water and breakfast was delicious and provided many choices. Its right off Queens Blvd and 678 so easy to get almost anywhere in the area. The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5 was the noise level at night. We heard tvs and conversations and, since we wanted to get to bed early for an early morning start, it was annoying. But, if you bring some ear plugs, that should help.

« clean, nice and so so convenient »

I decided to stay here the night before i left NY as i had a early plan. It was great - excellent WIFI, I could make my own waffles in the morning. A shuttle every hour on the half hour - so convenient and made sure there was no stress at all.

    3
    « Good Location »

The location of the Hotel is good for overnight stays if you are doing an overnigh connection as it is close to both JFK and LGA airports. The lift in the building though is not very user friendly. It could only take me and my baby stroller alone, I could not even add my luggage.

    « Uma's continental breakfast is a highlight! »

Hotel is convenient and clean and staff is very polite and helpful. An unexpected highlight is the continental breakfast run by a kind and professional woman named Uma. She puts care and attention into everything she does which elevates the entire experience. Being on the road and traveling from place to place can be alienating and it makes a big difference when someone shows a little bit of genuine care for you - makes it feel like home! Thanks Uma.

    4
« Clean & VERY close to JFK »

I suppose one of the cheapest hotel close to JFK. The front staff was polite, room clean. You get what you pay off. I had to leave really early in the morning so didn't experience breakfast. The Grab & Go was thoughtful.

« Everything is good except High price »

Due to winter storm i was forced to find a hotel..Being a regular at BW i selected this as closest one to JFK. Very high price....Good breakfast but no variety. NiCe staff...Decent rooms and free internet was fast

    « Exellent »

Great place close to a lot of places to eat grocery stores and the subway stations Briarwood 10 minutes or Jamaica Van Wick 10 minutes walking both take you everywhere, 45 minutes to Time's Square.Very safe area.

« Amazing Services and Friendly Staff »

The cleaning service are very punctual and they are very speedy, tidy and consistent at what they do. Also, one particular staff member, Uma, who prepares breakfast, is especially dependable every morning to be ready to serve every guest to her fullest. She not only provides exceptional catering but is always on time every morning which we may take for granted. Overall, she's definitely a cornerstone that upholds Best Western's services. Thank you Staff.

    « Pretty good deal »

Overall I had a good experience at this hotel. The staff was kind, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a microwave and a refrigerator. The room I was in was very small but I've grown to expect that in the city. I was grateful that it included free parking. In addition it included complimentary breakfast however I left early and did not get to eat breakfast therefore, I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast. However, at checkout the employee was sympathetic and offered me some water bottles and complimentary snack bars which was very thoughtful. There's also a local supermarket walking distance and some other grocery stores. My only complaint was that I was disappointed that there were no HD channels so the picture quality was pretty horrible. The room had a Vizio TV and I own Vizio TVs so I know that they make good quality TVs but for some reason the hotel did not offer any HD channels. This may not matter to other people but I'm a big TV watcher so for me, they lost lost some points for that. Oh and one more thing, it is also conveniently located walking distance from the E train station.

    « Nice stay »

Nice and clean, breakfast was awesome! Eggs/ make your own waffles ?? cozy and warm bed! Acces to subway walking , 30 Minutes to the city in subway, nice stay recommended I stay for 1 night and was all what I want it for a reasonable price!

    « A really enjoyable stay »

I stayed at this hotel from Nov. 30th- Dec.4th, and what a nice stay we had. From the time I entered the door, I received excellent service. The room was very nice and had a coffee machine with ample coffee. The bathroom was spotless and well stocked with towels. The breakfast was very filling, and included everything from waffles you make in a waffle iron to healthy options of fruit and yogurt. The cleaning lady was on point and made sure your room was taken care of. This hotel is close to the subway, and it's about a 30 minute sunway ride to Manhattan or downtown. This hotel offered everything I look for in a NY hotel. I'll definately stay here on my next trip to NY. So enjoyable. Note: If you want to take your breakfast to your room, take the brown tray from your room(the one by the coffeemaker with the packets of coffee on it), put your breakfast items on the tray and carry it up to your room. Note: There is a restaurant nearby called Flagship where the service is excellent. Note: There is a snack machine on the first floor, right behind the soda vending machine.

    « Get a thermostat and a bigger tv »

We have stayed here often. This time we got a room with a smaller tv. Also, the heater had no thermostat, so we were either too hot or too cold. And the fridge made a ticking sound. The rooms all have great photos of NYC.

    4
« Clean, orderly and good location! »

Best features: free parking and complimentary breakfast. The room was cramped. With a king sized bed, chair, wardrobe, and desk there was very little space to walk around. There was no closet and the wardrobe had very had little space to hang up clothes. Fortunately the stay was short.

    5
« GOOD VALUE, SAFE HAVEN »

For anyone not from the city who is nervous about where to stay in the Jamaica area of Queens this is the place. We are small town people not used to the hustle bustle of the city and were a little frightened about staying in this area. After staying here for two nights I can highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We were here for a family wedding and there were many other guests staying here also. All of the people I spoke to had a very positive experience. I can also speak to the quality of the soundproofing, I heard that there was an after wedding party that went on in the hotel until the wee hours of the morning and we did not hear a thing. Staff were all friendly and extremely helpful.

    3
    « Average stay »

Average stay, good proximity to JFK, small rooms, rude night staff, nightmare parking, nice layout, helpful housekeeping staff, moderate noise, decent bed. I don't know that I'm going to stay here again but I would recommend it for a night.

  • 5
« Away from hustle bustle of city , nice brekfast and well connected.Room with fridge, microwave and television. »

We stayed for 5 days. Since we used to have breakfast and go for sight seeing most of our interaction was with Uma Ji who used to serve buffet breakfast. She was very polite and very efficient in her duties which left a lasting impression on us.We liked the hotel and would always want to stay there .

    3
« Convenient location to JFK Airport. »

Housekeeping staff was very nice, polite and accommodating. However, this location is likely is better equipped for a 1-night stay. My company booked me for multiple nights and staff did not seem accustomed/equipped to address my requests/questions as a long-term lodger. Actually, the front desk attendant that was typically on duty when I would depart and return each day, was often on his cell phone, appeared pre-occupied, and found my questions/requests humorous (i.e.g., I have a 12-night stay, which floor is your laundry room, my room should have 2 beds). The attendant actually laughed...out loud. The motel also had a very strong pungent scent -- likely some type of air cleaner. Room was very small/tight...again for a one-night stay okay...but for a long-term stay uncomfortable.

    3
« Good enough for one night - close to JFK Airport »

We stayed here one night since we had an early morning flight from JFK. We stayed in room 412. It was a small corner room with one king sized bed. They have complimentary breakfast, but the selection was not that good or plenty. The breakfast room was on the SC floor (basement) and it was really crammed since there was a large group eating breakfast at the same time like us. Free parking is available. Not sure if we would stay again but for one night - it was good enough.

    4
« good for airport connections »

stayed at this hotel for one night due to my flight cancellation (so had to book at the last minute). Room was very clean and surprisingly quiet. No frills, but all I wanted after hours of sitting at the airport was clean bed and shower. The room had a motion sensor that made a little noise every time I moved, which I though was little creepy, but otherwise, I had no complaints.

    4
« convenient location to jfk & manhattan »

convenient location as near jfk airport. direct access to manhattan/time square as well to jfk via subway. rooms are clean but beds and space are a little small for family of four with teenage kids. although located next to a freeway, there is hardly any traffic noise during the night.

« A Great Place to Stay in NYC! »

This hotel has always been my "Go to" place to stay when visiting NYC. It has a great location for my business needs. Its free parking is extremely important to me. It is a small, but excellent hotel that has everything you need to enjoy your stay in the city. It is located in a safe neighborhood and has good restaurants within walking distance. The staff is excellent, especially Alfie at the front counter. He's always there for me when I need him for answers and recommendations. Simply stated, I highly recommend this hotel!

    5
    « Great find! »

I've stayed at this hotel twice the past 12 mo, once last Nov and again this Sept. Always great service and room is always very clean. Great location and awesome value for location. I travel alot so it's great when you have a great find like this!

« BEST WESTERN JAMAICA INN »

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Jamaica Inn while vacationing in NYC. While I only stayed there one night, the staff was very accommodating and the room was clean. I had no problems during check in or check out and the internet worked great. The bed was comfortable and I would likely stay here again in the future.

    4
    « Great Location & Quiet Neighborhood »

This hotel is at a perfect location near the E subway train that will get you to the World Trade center for all of your sight-seeing needs. You can also ride the train to & from JFK airport. It's in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The room was good and clean with a very comfortable bed. Internet worked fine & the breakfast was decent. I had very speedy check-in and check-out, too.

    2
    « Keep your commitments »

At checkin, was asked to put a tag in my car to keep it from being towed. Was promised a "grab n go" (fruit) upon early am depature: did not happen. Asked for a receipt: impossible, but was promised an email receipt: did not happen. Don't offer things you don't plan to follow up with.

  • 2
    « Don't stay here »

Yes it is close to the airport but our room on the C level was dark and the carpet was stained and there were uneven ridges on the floor as if the joists were starting to poke through. One plus is that it is only 2 blocks to a subway station that allows your to escape to downtown NYC for a few hours inexpensively.

    3
« You get what you pay for »

This hotel is a ittle shabby but is very clean. Although the rooms.are small ,they have everything you need in them. Typical hotel breakfast, good parking and about 5 city blocks from subway. We would stay here again if needed a clean hotel at a reasonal price.

    5
    « Nice Stay »

Stayed one night for an early flight out of JFK. Clean, quiet, well kept and service was prompt, efficient and courteous. Was offered a first floor room, which we thought might be noisy due to street noise, but room was very quiet. Asked for a wake-up call because alarm on phone doesn't always work AND wasn't sure if we set the alarm clock provided, so just as a third back up, which worked BEST!! Would definitely recommend staying if you have a need to.

    4
    « Nice stay »

Pleasant employees, good breakfasts, clean rooms, quiet even though next to an expressway. Near food places or food deliveries. Parking area. Free exercise room if you have time to use it. A little pricey was my only complaint.

    4
« Close to JFK - Great overnight stay after long, tiring flight »

Great overnight stay after picking up my car from JFK long term parking after a long, tiring flight. Easy to find / good parking. 20 minutes from airport. Friendly helpful staff. Grocery store closeby.

    3
    « OVER ALL STAY »

I always stay at this hotel, but this last say was terrible, the bed was very uncomfortable, woke up with lost of aches and pains, room was cold, extremely noisy, with running water, flushing, drilling etc. odd noises.

    5
    « Great stay. »

Easy access to subway and friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was fine, rooms were comfortable and clean. Easy to get from the airport. Had plenty of brochures available on what to do in New York. I would stay there again for sure if we were going to U.S. Open tennis championships in the future.

    3
« Cost effective stay when we got stuck overnight at JFK. About 5 miles from airport. »

Room was quiet, but small. Good breakfast. Since our luggage was in Timbuktu, they were very helpful providing basics to get us through the night. No complaints about the staff or cleanliness. Inexpensive for the area, and available at midnight! About a $20.00 cab ride from JFK. Served its purpose for us.

    4
« Good Hotel for Citi Field events »

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Jamaica Inn. The check in was simple and the room was clean. I felt safe in the hotel and the breakfast was good. I stayed there for an event at Citi Field. Going to the event was no problem! The uber was cheap and we arrived easily. However, getting back to the hotel is another story! Taxis and ubers are nonexistent and if you are taking the subway, you need to transfer to a bus. I recommend you research and know your route before leaving as it can be tiring and frustrating trying to return. The location is also not the easiest if you want to leave Queens throughout the day. Subways are available but know where they are as staff were uncertain of routes when we asked. Apart from that, it was a pleasant stay.

    4
    « very good »

Every we visit NY we stay here. We love the location since its close to family members. Also the breakfast menu is a another reason. Sometime we ask for a late checkout and there is never any problem. When we call for a reservation the staff is always courteous. Also the rooms are always clean and neat.

  • 2
« Too expensive for that kind of service »

We were at that hotel because we had a flight from JFK. It is very close the hotel. At the arrival the guy in duty at the reception was more focused on his handy that to provide information. Breakfast was very poor. The size of the room was fine, but it smelt no very well.

    3
    « Fair »

Not the best location. Near to subway station F Fair service Fair rooms and fair beds Fair breakfast Free Parking Around the hotel there is Dominos pizza KFC and Mcdonalds Driving to manhatten will take 1 hour

    3
    « Close to JFK »

The hotel is near a express way, and the rooms are not well insonorized. So you hesr thevtraffic all night long. But as it is about 5miles from JFK it can be a useful spot if you need to early at JFK.

    4
    « Great Value »

Great price, good service, friendly and helpful staff, great location. I stay at this hotel every time I come to NY.Wonderful large parking lot. Short drive to both LaGuardia and JFK airport. Easy access to the subway to go into the City.

    « review »

We found the room clean with plenty of amenities such as towels, pillows, blankets, etc. The air conditioner was great! The shower was hot with a strong water flow. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The only down side to our stay was the location didn't seem like a safe neighborhood, but we didn't need to walk anywhere so it wasn't a deciding factor when booking this hotel.

    4
    « Excellant stay »

Found the neighborhood to be ok. The room was comfortable but small for 2 queen beds. It was close enough to Citi Field to drive for the Classic East concert. Check in and check out were easy as we had reservations. All the staff was professional and courteous. Breakfast times were good and the food was good. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

« Best Western, Jamaica- great place to stay »

I want to thank the staff at this location for providing a clean hotel inside and out! My family and I stayed here for 5 days and could not be happier. The location, parking and convenience is also great. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay here and would recommend it to others. When I return to the New York area, there's a great chance I will return o the Best Western in Jamaica! Thanks again.

« Good hotel to visit New York »

The hotel is reasonably priced and accessible to both JFK and Manhattan. We got a cab from JFK which cost $21 although you could get the subway which would cheaper. The nearest subway is Jamaica Van Wyck which is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. This subway is also accessible for disabled visitors with a lift (we have a wheelchair). The hotel is clean and staff are very helpful, Uma in the breakfast area ensures there are lots of items including sausage, eggs, toast, croissant, waffles, yoghurt, fruit etc - a really good choice for a complementary breakfast! Yes the hotel is a little dated but it is perfectly adequate as you are not in it long. It has a business centre and fitness room. It does take about 45 minutes on the subway to get to Manhattan (world Trade Centre) but provided you travel outside rush hour you can usually get seated. At $33 for a 7 day pass transport is reasonable. Locally the Flagship diner (3 minute walk from hotel) is fantastic for food - lots of choice and good food. The area felt safe to walk around with a supermarket and shops near by. All in all a great choice to visit NY without spending an absolute fortune.

    5
« Great affordable place near NYC! »

Great, affordable place to stay while visiting New York City. The hotel is near subway, parking is included, and the rooms are very comfortable! Close to the subway in a pretty safe, nice part of town.

    5
    « Good Rooms »

The Best Western Jamaica Inn was a nice, inexpensive hotel with comfortable, clean rooms and good beds. For the price and it's location in NYC, it can't be beat. The WiFi was good and they offered decent TV. It's a five minute walk from nearby subway stations (Jamaica Van Wyck and Briarwood stations). There are also a row of restaurants and grocery/convenience stores not too far away. I found the Jamaica Queens area to be very run down and not the most pleasant but this hotel was an exception. Breakfast consisted of donuts, yogurt, fruit (apples and bananas), cereal, muffins, croissant rolls, eggs, sausage, and toast. That's pretty good compared to most places. The staff was very friendly and courteous whenever we made a request. Very good hotel! Just wish it were closer to Manhattan.

  • 4
« Older, but clean and friendly »

This BW checked all boxes. Inexpensive hotel close to JFK. Staff were efficient and friendly. Decor could use some updating as everything feels like it's from the 1980's. Subway stn close by. Overall very good value. Recommend.

    5
« Nice place close to the Air Train »

We spent one night here after arriving on an evening international flight and before heading down to Manhattan the following morning. The hotel is situated near several train stations, with good connections. There are several restaurants nearby within easy walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable with free wifi. Breakfast was excellent I must agree with previous comments praising Ms Uma, she did a wonderful job. Everything was well stocked and fresh, no issue with the coffee machine either. Overall a great stay, we wouldn't hesitate to return.

    3
« Fine enough, but some issues »

The hotel was clean enough and the front desk folk friendly, but when we had some questions about the area, they were not able to answer. (Questions included asking how to get to the nearby train station, so nothing too strange.) Another quibble, which seems minor, but which was actually a problem, was with breakfast. They have a fancy coffee maker in the breakfast room, which sounds lovely, but it makes only one cup at a time and it takes a few minutes to reheat between cups. When the breakfast room is full and everyone wants coffee or hot water, it means the wait is interminable. For this reason alone, I would not return there. I'll put up with a lot, but I want my coffee with breakfast!

    4
    « Absolutely wonderful »

This is the second time I have stayed for nearly a week in this hotel with a large group from Texas! Our rooms are always clean and neat! We LOVE Miss Uma in the breakfast room!! She keeps everything nicely stocked and hot and is very helpful with anything you need!! She works very hard is a tremendous asset to this hotel!!!

    2
« Overpriced for Area and Type of Hotel Stay »

I had 2 rooms on the same floor. Oneroom needed work cleaning the carpet and the shower. The other room was clean. Breakfast was in a sub cellar adjacent to a sweaty work out room. Breakfast was best part of stay. Parking is limited, and the adjacent hotel empties their garbage at 1:30 am at night. Yes, I told both the hotel and Best Western customer service that they had to check this place out. Traffic is horrendous that whole weekend from Friday through Sunday night. Looking at the posts on this property I assume I was the only individual who had their eyes open for evaluations to submit on property, or they were all first floor rooms. Expensive also

    5
« Incredible for Groups AND Individuals. »

I have stayed in this hotel 5 times from March 2016 to July 2017. Twice as a group of 2, three times as a LARGE group (33, 15, 30). An older hotel that has been completely redone and is constantly maintained to the highest standards. Front desk staff very courteous. Room staff does a consistently good job. However, for our groups, the best part has been the complimentary breakfast every day (hint: go to breakfast early. It's good and will get crowded - it IS NYC). Located halfway between JFK and LaGuardia, it is also 1/4 mile from 2 subway stations, making travel of groups MUCH easier. This is a gem of a value. We will be returning...

    5
    « Tremendous »

The people are really friendly the area is convenient the breakfast is the best part I always wait till the doors open and I see Miss Uma's smiling face she always says hello and is always a joy I only stay here for my length stay in New York city

    « Location * 3 »

Shuttle from-to JFK. Very close to the airport. One can take the train to Manhattan or even all the way to Newark. Nice people and fair service. Don't forget to subscribe to the Rewards Program! I think they also have AAA discounts!!

    3
« Budget hotel...it works but you get what you paid for.... »

Overall, this place did the job, but you should go there with the right expectations. I would rate the overall accommodation below what you would expect at a normal Best Western; but with that said, this place is at the right price if you just want a place to rest your head, park your car and as a bonus, free breakfast. Pros: Free Wifi: This hotel has one of THE BEST Wifi service we have seen in hotels and this includes the higher end hotels. There was no limit on number of devices and we had no problems streaming videos and music. We were connected automatically for the 4 nights after first login. If you need reliable wifi service, this place earns bonus points for that! Really nice staff. We had a couple of issues, and they were both taken care of as promised by staff. Breakfast area attendant Uma, in particular, was very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast. Breakfast area was well maintained, kudos to Uma. I was there for 4 mornings and not once did I feel like anything was not stocked. The area was clean, lots of selection, overall, very good breakfast. Healthy options such as hard boiled eggs, yogurt, milk, fruits, instant oatmeal were available, as well as some treat breakfast items such as waffles, muffins, and donuts. Hot items included sausages and scrambled eggs. Fitness room. Although small, it was well kept. Plenty of towels and water provided. If you just want to do some weights and cardio, it will work. The machines are old Life Fitness equipment, but they work. Location: It was convenient for attending a convention at St. John's University. It was close enough that we were able to go back and forth. We did not utilize the subway station but we did see where it was located and it is indeed very convenient. Easy access to highway and lots of food options if you are willing to walk a little bit. Free parking - we parked on ground level each night and the area was well lit. Cons: The place is dated and the carpet looks old and dirty. The bathroom counter space is almost non existent. Toilet flushes very hard, make sure you close the lid before flushing. Items in the room do not look very clean, the alarm clock looks like it needs to be wiped down or replaced. Some of the electrical outlets are old and if you put your charger in, it just falls out. Overall, if you are not a neat freak and do want to save some money, this hotel may just work for you. A couple of tips: bring some wipes and if you are sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs. The windows are very thin and the street noise may bother some.

« A comfy, friendly budget hotel for JFK and the subway »

I've stayed here three times now. It's no frills, but it's clean and convenient. The staff are really helpful and friendly. There's a great diner, Flagship, and a grocery store just a block and a half away on Queens Bvd, and good public transportation nearby. So this a very attractive place to stay in NYC on a budget.

    « Value for Money »

This is a reasonably priced hotel, well located in Jamaica Walking distance from couple of Ny-Subway stations. The hotel is few hundred meters away from Briarwood Van Wyck Blbd exit on 678 to JFK airport. Sunoco gas station is just behind the hotel JFK Air-train connects to Jamaica station which is 0.8 miles away from the hotel. Overall I find it best place from connectivity point of view. Two Queen Bed room was clean, enough space for four adults. Enough parking space considering busy Jamaica. Area around appears to be safe, we walked to subway and food joints nearby. Morning breakfast is sumptuous, staff is cordial. The leady in-charge of breakfast room ( Uma) was really caring. Overall I find it best choice for future trips.

    « Convenient location! »

We lodged here for one night and had a pleasant experience. This is a convenient place between JFK and LGA airports. Had a good breakfast in the morning. Met a lady with the name "Uma" who is one of the hotel staff. She was very kind to us, and helped us in preparation of the breakfast. A very kind and helpful lady. She went out of the way to serve my family. God bless her!

    « WORTH THE MONEY »

Rooms were clean. Best working jacuzzi of any I've used. Close to Belmont Racetrack. Several different eateries near the hotel. Staff was courteous. Close to major highways. just watch which way you walk on Queens Blvd.

« Wonderful Hotel Near JFK »

This Best Western is conveniently located near JFK airport. My room was reasonably priced, clean, quiet, and well appointed, the staff very friendly and helpful, and a car service arrived less than 10 minutes after the desk clerk made the call. I highly recommend this hotel; after trying several others near JFK this will be my first choice from now on!

« Fun location and pleasant staff »

The Hotel is a little old but very clean and comfortable. The area was fun as I had never been to NY before. The morning breakfast was always hot and fresh with plenty for all the guests thanks to Uma! She was friendly, helpful and very patient with our large group. The Hotel staff recommended some restaurants for us to try and we loved them. The Flagship Diner (in easy walking distance) has great food and the manager and staff really pampered us.

« Great stay. Very polite and helpful staff. »

The staff were all very kind and helpful. All of the staff were smiling and very polite. The breakfasts provided there very good. The dining room was very clean and well stocked.Uma the breakfast staff person was great at making sure the food was kept up, warm and available. Uma was also very friendly as well as polite. My granddaughter has special needs and tends to spills from time to time. When this would occur Uma would immediately come over to clean the mess up, telling us not to worry about it at all. I am grateful for her patience and care. I could not have asked for a better stay. The room was very clean and well kept. The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful as well. I will definitely be referring my family and friends to this hotel in the future. I will also stay at this hotel in the future.

« My home away from home! »

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel for several years. The staff here are very helpfull and kind,it's alawys nice to see they retain their staff so you see friendly familiar faces, especially Mrs. Lima the lady in charge of breakfast. She always has a smile and warm welcome for me and everything's clean and stocked! The bedrooms and all areas in this hotel are clean!

« Near subway, clear room, quite cheap for NYC »

We arrive late here but the reception is working quite fast, so we got our room in the speed of light. The room is quite small but we get it as it's in NYC. Subway station is only 5-min walking distance. Actually the best part is that we enjoyed our breakfast so much. Would recommend if you want to stay a couple of nights in NYC.

    « Awesome »

We had a great stay at Best Western Jamaica. They were very easy to work with and were completely non discriminatory to yhe special needs members of our family and were great about the service dog as well. I was espwcially impressed with Uma, who was the hot breakfast attendant. She was always cheerful, patient and friendly. One morning while I was in the breakfast room there was a disgruntled guest who became very confrontational with her and made some very rude comments repeatedly. She continuously went out of her way to try to ammend the situation and make him happy to no avail. During the confrontation she went out of her way to avoid arguing and dealt with the situation very humbly. The front desk attendants were also friendly and helpful. They were easy to work with and made great suggestions for local food. Over all we had a great stay, and we would definitely stay again.

« A place to sleep before you catch the plane to Portland, OR »

The place was ok but didn't realize there was no shuttle, however we were able to get a Lift fairily quickly. Just FYI our experience with Lift has been much BETTER than our uber experience. They do have some restaurants within a few blocks & a small grocery store, to pick up essentials.

« Very Nice, At a Nice Price »

A Clean Hotel , with Pleasant staff. Its Inexpensive, with Breakfast included. All rooms are smoke free. Close to JFK airport, subway, Bus and expressway. It Needs more parking space, other than that no complaints.

« Not very clean at all!!! »

Thai hire was dirty. I found hair in my shower AND black hair on my "clean" towels. Gross!!!!! I could only imagaine how "clean" everything else was... I do not recommend this hotel at all. The staff during the day was not helpful with my needs.

« Great place second home the staff amazing »

If you have to leave home to travel to NYC ...THE PLACE TO STAY IS HERE THE BEST WESTERN JAMAICA INN Uma at the breakfast room is a lovely lady with a smile and a good morning every day. Front desk guys are the best in town the ladies that work on the floors are ladies and keep the place fresh and clean. Great place to stay after long day or short day .

    5
    « Great Breakfast »

Uma was the best, great food and service. Very nice woman and great to talk to. The food was ready promptly at 7 and was delicious, thank you! Rooms were basic but the bed and pillows were comfortable.

« Once you find it, not bad »

Important directional advice: I checked 3 different GPS systems on this (Apple, Google & Subaru) and NOT ONE distinguished between the Van Wick Expressway (note the address of this property) and the SERVICE ROAD to the Van Wick that this hotel sits on. It's easy to get lost! Once you find it, the parking here is a little haphazard, but everything else is OK for a budget hotel. The breakfast was simple but not bad; the fitness room sufficient. We stayed on the C floor (and C did stand for cellar) but it was ok.

« For the area Better than Most »

We travel in and out of JFK quite a bit. My experiences with budget hotels in and around the area are mixed at best. Compared to others, this is better than most. I am going to preface this by saying, by the time we checked into out hotel is was the end of 3 flights over the course of close to 20 hours. I will also say that they have exceptional customer service, The gentleman at the front desk when we arrived after a very long day of travel, was very friendly, very service minded, and made the check in very easy. Checking out was quick and efficient. First the Positives: The room is fine, and when we arrived it appeared clean. It has all the basics you need to survive for a night or two. Hair dryer, coffee maker, ironing board and iron. Wifi is free and from what we could tell was fine. It is close to the airport, 10 or 20 minutes by taxi depending on the time of day and traffic. The breakfast was nice, they offer scrambled eggs (not sure if they are real or not), sausage patties, and then the normal continental breakfast. Overall a nice breakfast, most higher end hotels will not have warm food out as part of a continental. Now the negatives: When we woke up in the morning the room smelled of moldy water, after taking a closer look we noticed a small drip coming from the ceiling, appearing to be a leak from the roof. Then as we were packing up to leave to head to the airport, as we searched the room to ensure we had everything, we found a pastry on the floor, under the second bed. It had been there for a while. This tells me that although the room appears clean, it might not be as clean as you think. I did not bring this to the attention of the hotel because we were tired and in zombie mode as we left very early to endure another 8 hours of travel. Overall we would stay there again, we will just be sure to inspect the room a little more thoroughly before accepting it.

great stay and clean room. staff very helpful.location is clo and trucks on Van Wyck Exoprressway.se to f line train station. diner and other places to eat are closeby. Felt safe and secure, Lots of police in area, Gas staion located around the corner, Only fix would be to put in better quality windows to prevent some cold air entry and to reduce noise from cars

    « A Good One »

If you ever visit NYC and you don't want to stay in Manhattan or other areas, try considering this place because this place does really give you the best bang for the buck. It's very close to the airport, it has free parking spaces, and most importantly a fresh-warm and free breakfast every morning. The room I stayed was clean and it has all of the basic amenities that you can expect from a Best Western. However, asides all those nice things, be mindful that since this is a budget hotel, don't be surprised if you get a really small room and feel cramped once you're inside it. Also, it'd better if you are going to drive or rent a rental car in NYC because this place won't be convenient if you try to rely on the public transport.

    3
« Good choice hotel if you have a rental car »

The hotel locates next to freeway to JFK, takes about 15-20 mins to the airport. However the hotel is old and small. Room is OK, wifi is good. The breakfast has many choices, including fruits and pancake. My room is closed to the road, not much noise from outside. The best is that parking is free if you have a rental car.

« Great service, inexpensive, clean. Buen servicio, limpio, económico »

I stayed for a night before a flight and would stay there again. The rooms are smaller, typical of a budget hotel, but the room still provided a great guest experience. I did not, see an airport shuttle so I suspect taking an Uber or taxi will do. Pros: -Very clean -All walls and furniture were in great shape. -Plenty of natural light -Free breakfast area was inviting had plenty of selections. -Plenty of towels. Cons: none I could see. Items to note: No carpet in room, just tile. Bathroom was simple, but well designed.

« Good value in Queens area of NYC »

We use this hotel whenever we visit our daughter in Queens. Not that convenient to get into Manhattan but the free off street parking is a real plus. Not a fancy hotel but a good safe place if you are staying in the Queens or Brooklyn area.

    4
    « Clean »

Overall it was a comfortable stay. Fresh breakfast, enough parking, right next to subway station (5-6 min walk). Lady in the breakfast area, Uma was more than helpful and provided us with the best breakfast.

    3
« FINE for a night or two. »

Good location, neighborhood is fine. LOTS of restaurants of great variety - Italian, Indian, Chinese, Peruvian, fish, Spanish & American, a diner around the corner...& they all deliver. Will be using the JFK shuttle in the am. Room is a good size, yeah there are some street sounds, but hat is what I expect in NYC. It is not too bad. Staff very friendly. Clean. Cabs come quickly, but if you are not hauling tons of stuff, there are lots of busses & the subway, of course. I would stay here again.

    1
    « Awful »

Upon check in was Told they have no veins or pack n plays. So simply put nowhere for my baby to sleep! The room was dirty. Crumbs all over the floor. Shower pressure was awful. Front desk was no help. Told us to park below and we and t to go but cones were in the way so we had to call. He came out and moved the cones. He probably shouldn't have because the parking garage was like a dungeon. Anyone could walk in there, hijack your car or disassemble it for parts and no one would even know. So we came up and parked outside the hotel where there were actual lights. The hotel smells overall and is a dingy mess. Can't believe I spent $150 on this dump. Stay away.

« Perfect hotel for the last night New York »

The hotel is very convenient for when you want to spend your last day in New York. The airport is very close, around 15 min by car (if there is not too much traffic ;-). The hotel staff is very helpful! The rooms are clean and the breakfast is good enough to start the day. We enjoyed staying here!

    4
    « very good »

We always stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for us. we like the breakfast which is good, and the staff there is helpful. Also we like there because there is a frig and microwave in the room.

    5
    « Best Choice Ever »

This hotel is warm, comfortable, has friendly and accommodating staff. Fourty of us stayed for a 3 day business weekend without complaints. I would love to stay here again. Clean rooms, issues addressed promptly, no making of excuses. Very family and youth friendly.

    « good overall experience »

good overall experience......proximity to the JFK airport, location, commute to other places, room service, staff friendly, room cleanliness and on top of everything reasonable rates. It's recommended for late night halts to catch up early morning flights

    2
    « Needs improvement »

Bring a mattress pad here... I could feel the springs through it like an old couch. NOT what I have come to expect at the Best Western chain! Had I been able to locate another room nearby at the time I would have switched hotels!

« reasonable for new york »

room was clean, staff friendly. close to jfk airport about 15-20 min by taxi. 5 min walk to subway and about an hour on subway to manhattan. breakfast was reasonable. the hotel have so good eating places close by. seemed a safe area

    4
« Good location for an early-morning flight »

Good hotel, decent accommodations. The rooms are a good size for a NY hotel, and the prices tend to be lower than other nearby hotels. Our room was quiet, and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed. There was plenty of space to store clothing. The hotel offers free breakfast, but our flight was very early in the morning so we weren't able to stay for the 7:00 breakfast start time.

    3
    « Decent but overpriced »

We stayed for 8 nights in October for our NYC vacation, and overall it was a very good stay. 130$ per night is way too much for a 2* hotel in Queens, which is 30-50 mins by subway from the city, depends on where you go on Manhattan. Real price is more around 70-80 per night. 15 mins from subway, the area is a bit sketchy in the evening since there is no light on part of the road around subway station. Room itself is very comfortable, very nice bed and bathroom with a bath tub. After walking 20+ km every day it is nice for relaxation. Room was very clean and well cleaned. Staff is nice, especially Andrew and Uma. Breakfast is very nice, very filling. We would come back again if do not find better deal closer to the city.

« A good place to stay in Jamaica, NY on a short business trip »

Nice hotel at a reasonable rate in NYC. Almost equal distance from LGA and JFK airports.Friendly staff and hot breakfast . Free Wifi and a fitness room for standard exercises.Recommend this Hotel for a short business trip near the area.

    « Good location.. BUT... »

I stayed here on my trips to NYC over the past 5 years. I am a NY'er so I know the good, bad and ugly parts of Queens. I do like the microwave and fridge in the room. The parking is not great at all especially if the SHORT STAY MOTEL JETS INN is having a busy night. They try to split the parking between the two, but very hard to do. Street Parking is not great either as there is a large apartment building across the street from the hotel. There is a good Diner - Flag ship and to get a NY Bodega Breakfast a place called Spiros ( they deliver ) is also down the block. If you are not use to the noise of street cars/horns honking or just the hustle n bustle of NY bring ear plugs.

    5
    « very good staff »

The hotel was very nice, there were clean rooms, and the staff was very nice and helpful especially Uma in the breakfast room, she was very friendly and welcoming. Also a very nice hotel to stay with family on a vacation.

« My favorite place to stay in NY »

Excellent location and great service. Whenever we travel to New York we choose to stay at Best Western in Jamaica, NY. It is right in our comfort zone and we are so familiar with the area. It backs up to Queens blvd with easy access to the subway, busses, restaurants and shopping. For the last 12 years we have always stayed there whenever in New York. The only time I was not able to stay with them was after Sandy.

    4
« My hotel of choice when visiting NYC »

I love this hotel! Its clean, easily accessible from both major NYC airports, walking distance from public transportation, offers free parking, decent complimentary breakfast and most of all, quite affordable.

    5
« Clean Rooms, Friendly staff, Great on a budget »

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel (except maybe the cold scrambled eggs and sausage, but then again nobody's perfect, that's what the microwave is for). My room was clean, housekeeping was friendly; sorry i couldn't tip more. The only downside to staying here is that not much shopping around, so having a car is vital. There's a lovely Christian store around the corner, a diner within walking distance and basic needs shops - like a pharmacy and a so-called 99c and up store. There is no airport shuttle however, so be prepared to pay for a cab if you need to get to the airport.

    4
« Great Stay at Best Western Jamaica Inn »

The staff was very helpful and kind. Made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Assisted in printing a document my daughter needed for moving into her University. Assisted us with question pertaining to the area since it was our first time in New York.

« Bad staff and authorities »

The room service staff is very friendly, however, the higher authorities are very rude and nosy. The rooms were clean, they provide nice breakfast and the breakfast lady was also very nice. It's just the management people were rude, it's very bothering. Otherwise it's a nice hotel for a week stay.

« great staff, nice rooms »

Awesome staff at the hotel, very good internet, nice rooms size, very clean, close to two subways line , 35 minutes away from Manhattan , nice parking area inside and outside, very good breakfast , very close to two main airports but the most important, was the service provided by the general manager Mr. rey A. Torres taking very good care of all guests during our stay !!!! Thank you again !!!!

« My New York stay »

Hotel is in great need of renovation but the rooms were clean, good size and comfortable. Breakfast was good, just recommending some potatoes, but I had a great stay and will do it again on my next NY trip.

« Clean, comfortable, value for money »

Nice efficient hotel; very good location; very good breakfast; great room; friendly and helpful staff; professional and error-free handling of reservation and check-in/check-out; very good value for money. Appreciate free parking. Will recommend to friends/family. Force of water in shower and A/C unit noise level could have been improved.

    5
« Friendly People; Clean Rooms near JFK »

After 30 hours of international travel and the Delta computer crisis, Uma was the best part of our stay. She was in charge of breakfast. She was friendly and helpful. In fact, the entire staff could not have done more to make our staff (while brief) comfortable and enjoyable.

    5
    « Great Staff - Highly Recommend »

The Hotel was very clean, the A/C worked very well and the pillows and beds were great! Being away from home is hard sometimes when you don't have the comfort of home. We enjoyed the breakfast, loved the staff and the beds, pillows and room were very clean and comfortable. A+ for this location! Briarwood Cafe was great, Key Foods was across the street if we needed anything and Dominos was right there for pickup. Great coffee and breakfast was a bonus!

    4
    « Nice and clean »

It is a simple but well taken care of hotel with everything you need without being fancy. There was a variety of selections for breakfast, but what we liked best was the waffles and Umas' friendly smile. It is close to the subway (5 min walk) but the ride to Manhattan takes 30-45 min, depending on if you get an express train or not.

    5
    « Great hotel near F & E lines in Queens »

I stayed here for a week while visiting for work and was very pleased with my stay. The hotel had free parking, a huge surprise to me, and also had several good breakfast options in the morning. It's a short walk to the F and E lines, convenient for getting to Manhattan and the other boroughs and is nearby some pretty good food options. This hotel was a huge treat for the cheap price I paid for my stay. I would definitely recommend it, and will likely stay here again if and when I return to NYC for work.

    5
    « Group visit »

Perfect place to stay with a group. Free WI FI, Free parking, free breakfast. Location is close to subway, restaurants, groceries, gas station, staff are helpful and friendly. Rooms are a little small but clean and neat, beds are comfortable. We stayed 5 nights and had good service the whole time.

    5
« Stay here without hesitation! »

My church group & I stayed here for a full week & were extremely pleased. No problems. The staff does go out of their way for you. I spoke to Alfie several times before arriving & he was always accommodating & helpful. Sonny was there when we checked in & through our first weekend there & again top notch staff. The beds are comfy, the a/c is a great relief when coming back from a full hot day out! It is about 10 mins walking away from train or bus. Breakfast is great: scrambled eggs, sausage, cinnamon or regular waffles, sliced american cheese, yogurt, bagels & cream cheese, toast & jelly, OJ, apple juice, special hot coffee beverages, fruit, & more. The breakfast lady is also so very nice & will do whatever she can to make your breakfast time just what you need to start your day. Entire building is very clean. There is enough parking. Just a very enjoyable time & we thank God we had such a super place to come back to after sharing Jesus Christ through our missions trip there. Super great!

    « Hotel Stay »

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was very close to the venue to which I attended a function. Parking was adequate. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very big. I would be very happy to stay here again.

    3
« Enough parking lot and very loud street noise »

This motel was moderate for NYC travel because metro station is nearby and parking lot is very spacious and around this motel was very safe. However, I didn't sleep because of very loud highway noise. If you are sensitive about noise, Avoid this motel. But, I could sleep from the second night since I was so much tired of hard travel in NYC. This motel is very good unless you have noise problem.

    4
    « OK for a overnight »

stayed at this hotel multiple times when traveling, it's about 10 mins from JFK airport. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly, they offered free parking which is a plus. try to get the rooms in the back as the hotel is facing a major highway.

    5
    « Great Stay »

The room is small, but overall it was clean, close to subways, breakfast was good. I will definitely stay here again. Free Parking, Free Breakfast that's hard to find in NY. Lady name Uma, was great keeping on top of the breakfast area, she is a caring person. A hard working lady.

    3
    « Ok for sleep »

Wifi free and good. Room size small for three. Toilet looks clean, towels without smell. Amenities available. Shower with water flow good. Pillow, mattress and blanket ok. Air conditioner functioning well. Location good. breakfast ok. Housekeeping ok. Hotel staffs' attitude are good. Free parking.

    4
    « Room Deposit? »

This is my first experience of having to leave a room deposit placed on my credit card before checking in. I was quite uncomfortable with this especially without prior notice from Best Western when making this reservation. What would have happen if I only had enough $ to cover the room and not the deposit? For me, this adds up to poor customer service and a lack of consideration for people who travel.

    5
    « Excellent accommodation »

From checkin to checkout I was extrememly satisfied with the staff and conditions during my stay. I will certainly be staying here again on my next stay in Queens. The breakfast offering is great - the fruit was fresh and the coffee tasty.

    « Good Value »

Great value, location was good, room was clean and adequate. Breakfast and free on site parking are a bonus especially in New York City area.Staff was courteous and helpful.Only draw back was some nearby expressway road noise filtering into room.

    « Not Bad »

Staying two nights here. Overall, I have no complaint. Two thumps up for letting me check in early. My flight arrived early at 10:00 AM and I smoothly checked in. Free breakfast is not really fantastic but what you pay is what you get. Room is okay. Overall, it's a okay hotel.

    3
« Nothing special about this hotel. It's air condition is so old that it makes such big noise. »

The staff was helpful. The room was not as spacious as the description, I think the tripadvisor description is not true. The air condition is really old and make tremendous noise, but I had to use it because if you open the window the traffic noise is even worse. But the bath is super clean and the bed is very big and comfortable. I probably won't stay there again though as there is no JFK airport shuttle comes nearby. You have to spend extra 20 USD to get there. I arrive very late at night due to the fly. There is no grocery store to get food. Only a small petro shop that sell crisps. The hotel didn't provide drinking water. You have to get your water from machine. I think it is not very nice at such late night.

    5
« Great location and staff »

The staff here is amazing!! They make you feel like family. The hotel is located right off the highway or a short walk from the subway. Great Location!! Great Price!! This was our first time in New York and I am glad we stayed here. They made our stay more pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!!

« BEST WESTERN of New York »

While my family and I were visiting New York City, we stayed at BEST WESTERN - Jamaica Inn. The room provided for us was comfortable and had everything we needed. They also had a breakfast bar, which was well stocked and had a wide variety as well as maps and brochures that provided helpful suggestions for where to go. The staff there are pleasant and polite like Mr. Alfie of the Front Desk. Not only was he pleasant and polite, he was helpful, friendly, and accommodating.

    4
« good hotel for the price »

friendly and clean hotel, close to JFK airport and few steps to subway E - 30 minutes to city centre. Rooms are usual, clean bathrooms. Only thing is they do not provide baby cots... Breakfast is sufficient, the woman there treated our 1-year old boy like her own, he got what he wanted and what was not on the table usualy. Thank you for that!

    5
    « Pleasant Stay / Convenient Location »

I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and have found the location convenient. The subway is within walking distance and close to restaurants. Alfie checked me in and out this time and I found him to be friendly, efficient and very helpful. The room was small but clean and adequate, the internet worked well, and the breakfast was very good, The attendant (I didn't get her name) was friendly and efficient and attentive to keep filling items when near empty. The housekeeping staff were also friendly. If you are looking for a hotel that is convenient and the prices are lower than a hotel in New York, and a friendly atmosphere, this would be the place to stay in Queens.

    4
« Good value for money in Queens »

It's a pretty good room and bed for what you pay, and even if it's in Queens, if you want to visit Manhattan you'll get there in a 30-40 min subway ride. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. Basic gym appreciated. Breakfast was felt as low-quality and could be improved.

A lot of work and other resources have been put to good use in making the hotel look good. The amenities are in excellent working condition and the face lift is excellent. Nice color combinations. The location is also good and the hotel staff are very helpful and warm

« Good deal but sound-proof windows needed »

Everything was good compare to the paid price. I would definetly go back to the hotel more often if the windows were better and blocked the noise coming from the highway. People were great and helpfull. The hotel is a little far from the city but if you know your way using the subway, you are max 30-45 min to Manhattan... not bad in NYC. Close to JFK was also a good deal for us.

« Excellent choice if you need a place to stay in Jamaica Queens »

The room is nice and comfortable, with the essential needs. One of the highlights of this hotel is the breakfast bar: well stocked and maintained by Miss Uma who is attentive to stock and taste of the visitors as well as courteous and polite.

« Comfortable quiet rooms and a great breakfast »

The staff of this hotel are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and the bed mattress was of good quality - made for a great night sleep. Ample shower pressure and nice bathroom. The best part though I have to admit is the breakfast where I enjoyed my homemade waffle, yummy eggs, surprisingly good coffee, yogurt (they even had the good Greek kind) and a nice variety of cereal, juice, and fruits. The location is convenient and easy to find and get to. I will definitely stay here again.

« First Visit to New York »

This was our first visit to New York and we chose this hotel as it was fairly close to JFK and had convenient surroundings. The drive from the airport to the hotel was about 15 minutes and once we got there, we were greeted by a friendly hotel clerk who checked us in very swiftly. We stayed on the fourth and highest floor of the hotel and once we got in the room, there was indeed a slight smell of smoke but as time went on, this was no longer noticeable. The bathroom was a decent size, the beds were pretty comfortable and the layout of the room was nice. The microwave that was available was really convenient. The electrical sockets seem like they need replacing as they are pretty loose. One moment you're charging your phone, the next moment the charger is on the floor. The channel selection for the TV could have been better but this wasn't a big deal as this was pretty much just a place to sleep. Housekeeping was good and the rooms were always kept clean. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good as it had a good bit to choose from which ranged from juices, coffee, tee, eggs, sausages, different types of bread, bagels, pastries, different types of cereals and a good selection of fruits and yogurts. It was pretty much everything you need from a continental breakfast. Uma, the breakfast room staff member was really friendly and kind. She was always willing to help in any way possible. This hotel has a really good location with regards to the subway station, shopping, and restaurants. Queens Center Mall is a 20 minute drive away and that mall is really nice. The Briarwood Van Wyck subway station is a 5 minute walk away and so are restaurants like the Flagship Diner, Subway, Domino's, McDonalds, KFC, Wendy's, and Dunkin' Donuts. There were also a variety of grocery stores nearby. Heading into NYC was fairly easy as well due to this nearby subway station. Through communicating with MTA representatives, getting into the city was a good experience and took about 30 or 40 minutes. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend this hotel as somewhere to stay if you are looking for a cheaper option.

« Great stay for a visit in NYC »

Great hotel for a visit in NYC. The subway is located 10 minutes away. Clean rooms, friendly staff, especially Uma in the breakfast room. There's a Walmart and Starbucks at Jamaica Station, one subway station to JFK and LIRR.

« Nice rooms and good breakfast »

Nice rooms and courtieus staff. Breakfast was good and the breakfast attendant Uma was very courtieus, helpful and took good care of the guests. House keeping also did a good job. Overall a good experience.

The Jamaica Queens Best Western has very friendly staff, nice clean rooms with good showers, and tasty breakfast (I love the waffle maker - yummy!). I found my stay to be very quiet and relaxing and enjoyed the movie channels and free WIFI. Would definitely stay again.

    « Leisure stay »

It was close to Saint John's where our daughter attends. It was close in proximity to NYC. All in all, we will be back. The room was clean. The fitness center had one treadmill, bike and elliptical. No free weights.

We stayed in this hotel on 19th March. We liked the room and especially the breakfast. The breakfast was served hot by Uma who was polite and very kind .Good location. Easy access to subway .Easy drive to Statue of Liberty. The room was small but neat.

« Safe, Accessible and good place to stay »

We liked the hotel for its cleanliness, friendly/professional staff with ample parking. It is accessible to most freeways and JFK is not far either. We checked at other places and this hotel was $18-20 less for the same dates, would recommend this to anyone.

« Nice stay for my money »

I booked one night to surprise my husband and to escape the routine , I expected less because of the price but the truth is that I was surprised. The breakfast was good and the room was very quite. The staff was very nice and helpful, a wonderful check in experience.

    « Short stay »

Hotel was comfortable. Housekeeping did not come one day out of 4 days.Hotel breakfast was good and plentiful. Would recommend that the ceiling tiles be replaced and they showed water stains throughout the hotel.

« Only good thing was the bed »

I booked this hotel for a night while waiting for a long layover at the airport. After booking, I wish I would have just stayed at the airport. The place I booked it from said it offered shuttle service, I get there and they don't. They are undergoing construction so the whole lobby area is blocked off and you have to walk around the hotel to get into the back. Not ideal when you have luggage or are in a hurry. The location of the place was hard for the Uber driver to pick us up from the next morning. The heat didn't work in the room at all, actually the window wouldn't even completely close. There was a cockroach in my room (granted, this didn't bother me since it happens often in NYC). The ONLY good thing about the room was the bed was super comfy and I was able to sleep quickly so at least I didn't have to stay awake to let the crappyness of the room bother me. It may be fine for a cheap overnight stay, but would I recommend it? Definitely not.

    « Compassionate Staff »

My mother has stayed at this location for 3 weeks due to a family health emergency at a nearby hospital. As stressful and disheartening as the situation is, we find comfort in the hotel's staff. Over the past few weeks, everyone here has rallied behind and supported my mother with their prayers, compassion, and care. Being from out of town, we would've never expected the support from the team here. Every morning, my mother is greeted by Uma, who manages the hotel's breakfast. She has been so kind, and sweet to my mother. Her words of support have been instrumental in making my mother feel welcomed and comfortable at a time of emergency. I'm so grateful for Uma, and the rest of the hotel staff's compassion and support in my family's time of need. Thank you so much.

    « Pleasant Stay »

This is an older hotel but very nicely kept. The staff was very pleasant and very courteous and addressed all my questions and concerns. I traveled to this hotel from VA. I stayed here the night before the Blizzard2016. I booked one night but at check-in I requested a second night. The staff was concern that I was going to stay another night in light of the upcoming storm. I took the staff's advice and stayed only one night. It was good advice. If I had stayed another night I would have been stranded for 3 additional nights. I would stay here again without question.

    « Good budget hotel »

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my family. The hotel is conveniently located very near to the JFK Airport. The rooms are clean and free parking is available at the hotel. The breakfast is normal affair. A special mention for the lady who manages the breakfast buffet, she is very helpful and caring.

« My stay was awesome »

I cannot explain the professionalism from the staff at the Best Western. It is the only hotel in the New York area that is reasonable and clean. I have recommended this hotel to all of my family members and friends. I wish everyone could have the experience of staying at the Best Western hotel. No one is running down the hallways screaming and fighting. I felt safe while I was there and always have.

    « Nice Hotel »

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. the room was always clean and the staff was very friendly. I wouldn't go to breakfast if you feel awkward easily; the woman in charge of breakfast will pester you throughout your meal about filling out a survey about the food.

« Who did use my credit card? »

I have been in hotel Best Western Jamaica,in Queens ,New York till 12 th to 17 thDecember of 2015. My small bag with christmas gifts have been dissapeared ,but i am fine. But wheni recognized, that in1 th january my card has been used by somebody for toys in Brooklyn and Bronx i started to be mad. Iam in Europe from 17 th december 2015 and somebody used my ID from my credit card in 1 th january 2016 in NY. I wrote to hotel about this issue, what has been happened, but nobody answered me.So,i suppose, that only staff from reception of this hotel had time to use my ID and security number of my card..And my necles and gifts from my room were disappered also.I did receive any answer from managment of this hotel and only i have to make reservation by my no credit card ,but by my bank in future.

    « Always a pleasure »

When in NY we always try to book this Hotel. We have been staying there whenever we come to NY except the year of the terrible 'Sandy" That was the only time that there was no availability. This hotel is close to public transportation with a short trip to NYC. Buses come buy frequently. Close to shopping area. It is always a pleasure to stay here. The service is very good. Just a very pleasant place to stay.

    5
    « Personal »

The overall stay was great. the marijuana smoking was a little uncomfortable at times. The staff told me that they cannot promise that there is no smoking marijuana in the Non Smoking rooms. I felt that was unacceptable. The Breakfast does not cater to people that do not eat pork buy products.

    4
« Friendly Staff, Good Location »

It's several minutes walk to subway (line E/F) and there is supermarket nearby as well as coffee shop / take out restaurant. I booked the place for a friend who is in NYC for US Open tennis tournament and stayed with her for two nights. From the hotel to Flushing was about 30-45 minutes subway ride (depending on which time of the day you travel), convenient enough with competitive price. I like that there is a microwave and a small fridge in the room, very helpful in summer! One thing though, the air conditioner is very loud so it might take a while to fall asleep at night... The staff there are very friendly. Breakfast is simple but acceptable. Parking is free so that's great, and the hotel is right by express way entrance.

    « Jamaica Stay »

I was satisfied with my stay at this hotel. Enjoyed New York City. However, I just was a little disappointed with the lack of curtsy and respect some of those who were staying in their respected rooms and smoking in a non-smoking room.

« Good location and close to citi field »

Very good place for the price we paid for the rooms. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay with my friends. I would certainly comeback to this place. If you are planning to attend an event at citi field then this is a good place to stay

    « Great Location »

Each time I stay at this facility, I encounter a very professional front desk agent with wonderful communication skills and polite temperament. Whish quite refreshing after a long travel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable as well. The location is near High ways to get me to various destinations. The eateries are near by, making this hotel very convenient for me. Just a great place to stay.

« Just to spend a night before a flight »

Old hotel, old rooms. I appreciate the breakfast though. Is what you get for the price paid. If you plan to stay there, plan to take a taxi to move around or walk to the subway. The area is a bit sketchy. We stayed there just for a night before taking a plane out of JFK

    2
    « Tired and overpriced »

I wanted an overnight stop close to JFK after picking up a rental car and thought this looked okay. The area is dodgy, the hotel tired and the rooms shabby. Free wifi as a Best Western member was the only real redeeming feature. Parking was limited and non-secure, while breakfast in the basement 'restaurant' was basic and largely unappealing. Overall I can't recommend it.

    4
    « Good »

WE have stayed at Best Western, Jamaica Inn ,NY more than once. The price is right. plus the breakfast is always nice. The rooms are nice and clean. Whenever we are know we are visiting NY reservations are made at Best Western. Since we drive there is always parking. So we do not have to ride around looking for a place to park.

« Staff was friendly! Accommodations are run down. »

This property is advertised as a 'JFK area hotel' but they do not have a shuttle to and from the airport :(. It cost $25 to catch a yellow cab to the hotel, and we needed two cabs, so that added cost was not fun. The almost all of the front desk staff we encountered, and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room and exercise rooms are both tiny and underground, and stuffy. The breakfast food was typical egg-products, some sausage, bagels, sliced bread, and pastries, bananas and apples, juice from a machine, coffee and tea, etc. The hotel's hallways are very narrow. Rooms were functional, and the A/C worked nicely, but everything was older and not very pretty. Hotel is far from any restaurant, store, or interesting place to go. The subway was several blocks away. Walkable, but not super close. Hotel was not terrible, but for the price it still felt kinda disappointing.

    4
« Clean, Convenient and Priced Right. »

I had many places to go in the Queens/Long Island area, and this was central for me.. Friendly staff and moderate cost were factors in my choice. I would stay again.. And there is a Greatkosher deli/restaurant nearby since 1945 (?) with outstanding pastrami too..

« Good choice at short notice »

I had decided to change my hotel booking at short notice due to the deteriorating reviews of the New World Hotel in Chinatown. As it was so near my departure date my choice within my budget was limited. I was really pleased with my choice. Firstly the hotel is quite near JFK. It is within walking distance of the F & E train. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was as advertised. I travel alone so felt secure in the room by myself.. The only time I felt concerned was walking back from Briarwood Van Wyck late in the evening as you have to walk along a deserted service road. It is much safer to use the E train station to Jamaica Van Wick. Nothing much to do in the area but the locals were friendly. The room was clean. I never managed to work out how to use the coffee maker ( I did not ask anyone) but the fridge and microwave in the room are useful. The water pressure was good and the hotel was not noisy. All in all a good choice

    « Trip to NYC »

We went to New York city to see some shows and do some shopping. The hotels in Manhattan are fairly expensive. This hotel is convenient to a Metro station; 10 minutes walk.and a 40 minute subway ride to Manhattan Room was reasonable for New York prices. Breakfast was good.

« Terrible! Not concerned about your safety at all! »

I reserved a room for 2 nights here (Sept 19-20, 2015). Confirmation sent via email says NO NEED to call to confirm, so I trusted that I would come to a nice place to crash into after a long flight. When I got there at 1AM after a grueling 26 hours flight, I was just informed the system cancelled on me and there is nothing the receptionist can do about it because it automatically cancels out if unable to make a successful transaction through a guest's credit card (I don't understand why they claim they were unable to charge my card when I was able to use the same card for the hotel I found within the vicinity later on!) Despite my begging for consideration or some workaround (it was my first time in NY, I'm a woman, I was very tired, it was midnight and chilly outside at that!) this guy at the front desk never lifted a finger to dial any of his neighboring hotels' numbers to check if there could be any room for me. He just said his piece and then pretended I was not there. I walked from one hotel to another to find a place for me to rest. I found one at around 4am. Booking with Best Western is the dumbest decision I made.

    « Convenient airport hotel »

Stayed here after a cruise as our flight left the next day. Staff were efficient and friendly. The room was small but adequate and clean. No airport noise. No room service but we were provided with several takeaway options which were cheap and delivered to our room. Shuttle to the airport was great.

I have stayed at this hotel for weeks at a time with groups of youth that were in town for a missions trip. The first year, I had a youth get sick and the staff was INCREDIBLE in helping us. They kept asking how he was doing after he left. The breakfast was great and the lady who works down there has been a sweetheart. The rooms were great! No complaints- always clean. Location was great with the subway being 2-3 blocks away. A Dunkin Donuts is 2 blocks away as is a grocery store. Love this hotel

    « Disappointed after a long drive »

We chose this property because of its location to JFK. We had a morning flight and drove up from Annapolis the night before. Bullet proof glass at check in?? Ok i have never seen that at any hotel I have ever stayed in. Room was as promised with two queen beds but cleanliness was lacking. Bedding, carpet and bathroom all were well worn. Bathroom sink did not drain, We were there for less than 8 hours so we did not have management address it. I feel that housekeeping could have realized it did not drain during the room's last cleaning but chose to ignore the problem. We did notify the front desk at check out in hopes it will be fixed for the next guest. breakfast was also as promised with a number of choices. Unfortunately i would not go back nor can I recommend this property to fellow travelers
