    « A FAMILIAR HOTEL, A FAMILIAR EXPERIENCE »

I have stayed at the Mill River Manor about 20 times over the past 8 or 9 years. Each stay was for either three or four nights. The professionalism of Ms. Linda Olivieri is the main reason for my returning again and again. No detail is too small to be addressed, no problem too large for her to solve. The rest of the staff takes its message from her, I am sure, because each and every employee is pleasant, friendly and competent. Her daughter, Kayla appears to be following in Linda's footsteps. She is a friendly, warm, pleasant individual very interested in the clients' satisfaction with their stay.

« Stay Here For The Location »

The best thing about this hotel...it's location. Located in the center of Rockville Centre, just steps from the Long Island Railroad station. We walked to everything in Rockville Centre, then rode the train into Manhattan So if you want to visit NYC and don't want to pay the high hotel rates there, stay here and just hop the train to/from the city. This is really a motel with all outside room entrances. Lobby and restaurant are nice with decent free morning breakfast. Rooms are small and a bit dated, but very clean. My biggest issue was parking. They had a party in their banquet room each night I was staying here, and the guests to the party too-up most all the parking, so there was no parking available for hotel guests. The management puts their banquet business first. I had to park at the train station way behind the property. So, not a safe parking option at night, especially if you are alone. The hotel general manager Mr. Chan even wrote me about their parking, "they are not guaranteed for all of our guests."

    « GOOD VALUE »

GOOD value and service for the price ; very friendly and attentive staff ; passed my wife's cleanliness test; amenities are satisfactory; breakfast was a VERY GOOD start to each day; hotel is convenient to all downtown services and attractions.

    « Quick stay »

The Best Western was at a convenient location for where we needed to be, and was extremely affordable. The room was very comfy and clean. Lots of amenities for guests to access - complimentary breakfast, free WiFi, workout center, business center... would definitely stay here again if we were in this area again.

Hello to everyone that love to travel or visit friends and family or simply like to have a quiet night out with their lady, wife, or significant other.well the best western is the place to be! Yeah I know there's other nice hotels, motels out there and if you decide to stay there God bless you. However I'm just giving my experience of staying at the best western hotel in Rockville centre. The staff here showed me and my wife the up most respect I understand it take a team to run a good business however every place has that special person. But here at the best western in Rockville center there's 3 special people who go beyond there way to make us feel welcome, and that meant a lot to me and my family. Before coming here me and my family been going through some things and it was a blessing to feel they really cared. So with that said me and my wife will like to thank the [manager MR.ANDREW] [RECEPTION MS.LINDA] & [THE HEAD OF HOUSE CLEANING [MS.YAMILET] God bless you all and once again Thank you very much for your time and understanding. « Good Basic Motel »

We needed to stay overnight near Valley Stream recently; the Rockville Centre area provided the best choice of medium-price hotels so we focused there. Our preferred hotel chain was charging $200 for a single weekend night so we decided to price shop a bit. We ended up using Priceline, "best offer" tool; our $100 (plus fees and taxes) bid was accepted by The Best Western Mill River Manor. Our room was clean and comfortable. However, the hotel seems to be a bit shopworn overall. We had a king room that included a desk, a small refrigerator, a microwave oven and a side chair with ottoman. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom, especially the tub and shower, could use an overhaul. The free breakfast was average; you could cook your own waffle if you like. Free parking was plentiful. If the price was right, we would stay here again.

« Group Trip to Jones Beach »

the Breakfast is great....rooms are clean and comfortable and Pool area small but nice also. BUT....the service is great!!!!! I book a block of rooms for our group and we were welcomed in by Linda Olivieri. I did miss seeing her his year but the staff was just as wonderful. I will book again with her because of the wonderful service and welcoming we get from her and her staff.

    « Favorite hotels!! »

Love this hotel. Clean and the staff is friendly and helpful! Linda & Andrew are particularly kind and helpful. There's also a young lady, brunette with glasses, can't remember her name but she's been awesome every time as well. They're very conveniently located, right next to LIRR and shops/bars and are accommodating. Most of the house keeping ladies are very sweet as well. Definitely recommend!

« Very helpful and caring »

I've been coming to the Best Western Hotel since July, I'm currently staying here with my family temporarily. Linda and Andrew make things happen. Mr Alan, Sky and Damian are great as well, they make sure your needs are meet. Whatever I need for my room I get it, If something is not working, they send someone to fix it, If no one is around to fix it at the time, they send someone the next day. These Guys are great.

« Great location, amenities, service, price »

The room is small, but clean and efficient with microwave and fridge. Breakfast has hot items and lots of choices. Fitness center and business center are adequate and convenient. Location is great and within walking distance of many restaurants. Parking is free. Bar and restaurant on premises as well. Would stay again!

« possible public asst. motel »

Stayed at this motel last weekend......both of our computers got hacked I realize this was a non secure web site.........many units appear to be occupied by government assistance customers......noticed in restaurant and generally around motel.....very noisy in walkways when you are in unit.....do not recommend

    « A clean, decent motel »

We stayed for an overnight as we were visiting family in the area and this was the most convenient location. The desk manager was friendly and helpful, she recommended a local restaurant which was a very good choice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was easy and we walked to the local restaurant for dinner as this motel is right in the downtown area. If you cannot abide any noise this might not be a good choice as the motel abuts the LIRR station and the trains are frequent and noisy. It did not bother anyone in our party although we are all used to quiet neighborhoods, maybe we were just very tired!

« You get what you pay for »

We stayed here last week on a trip to the area to see family. There are only a few hotels in the immediate area and we chose this one because of price. We arrived on the coldest night of the year. Checked in near 10pm and the young girl at the desk (who had her friends there while working) assigned us a room. We got to the room and told her the heat didn't work well. She told us maintenance had left for the day. Then we asked for an extra blanket and she said housekeeping leaves at 4:30pm and she doesn't have a key to their closet. How does the front desk not have access to supplies like a blanket? When I mentioned it the next morning the morning front desk told me ?well we're a 3 Star hotel.? I asked for new towels because I used them the night before to block out the draft at the door and was told housekeeping doesn't come in until 9:30am so the front desk didn't have towels. Don't plan on having a place to park your car if you go out on a weekend. We came back at 6pm and they had an event so the parking lot was chaos with a valet for the parties and we saw valet options other nights too, it looked to park for the surrounding restaurants. It's a non smoking hotel but many patrons smoke right outside the rooms so you'll smell smoke in your room. Then they throw their cigarette butts, we picked a cigarette off our car one morning. There was also freezing rain one night. We called and asked for ice melt to be put down because someone in our party is handicapped and they again told us maintenance had already left. So basically don't expect anything outside 9:30am-4:30pm. Next time I'll spend a little more money and go to the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn.

    « Blizzard Oasis!! »

Stayed at this friendly property when we were stuck in NYC during the "bomb cyclone" of Jan '18. Sky helped me book our room when I called and was very kind and helpful. When we finally made it to the hotel, their staff was working overtime shoveling snow, and keeping the property usable for the guests. I even witnessed them (the staff) help a homeless man outside the hotel who was stumbling by, and facing the life threatening blizzard, sub-zero temperatures and high winds. I collected my room key and Ms. Linda very thoughtfully advised me that there was only one restaurant still open in Rockville Centre (a pizza cafe') and offered to call them for me before they closed. I took her up on the offer and we ordered two large pizzas from Front Street Pizza. Great call Linda!! The property is PERFECTLY located just one block from the Rockville Centre LIRR train stop (very convenient for weary travelers during a blizzard, or anyone wanting quick access to excellent public transport). In good weather, there are many exciting dining and shopping options only a few blocks walk from the property. The room was clean, but the wind did cause a draft through the room door (less than perfectly insulated), but the weather was extreme, and the room's heater was definitely up to the task of defeating the cold from outside. Overall, I'd definitely stay there again. Great combination of value, friendly staff, city access, and local dining/shopping. Thanks for a nice stay!

    « Ripoff motel »

I requested a three night stay online at this motel. Upon arriving late night after a flight delay, I parked my car in front of the lobby area and as I exited noticed two vagrants standing and watching me. It was after midnight and very cold (approximately 15° out'. I immediately regretted booking this hotel and decided to stay only one night. . I advised the front desk assistant that I will only be staying for one night and to please change my reservation for that night only. He verbally said no problem and I checked in. I left at 5:45 AM and never went back. Three days later I receive a phone call from the motel asking if I'm extending my stay due to the snowstorm. I was shocked at the call and advised that I only stayed one night and I advised the front desk clerk of my intention when checking in. She told me she would get back to me but never did. I called there several hours later spoke to another person told them the situation and they switched me to the general managers voicemail. I left a detailed message for him and also did not receive a call back. I called back in the evening and the general manager (Allen) answered the phone. I advised him of the situation and he proceeded to advise me that I signed a paper that said three nights I would be responsible. He said he would speak to the clerk the next day and that I should call him in the morning or afternoon to find out the status. He spoke as if he was familiar with my reservation and I had signed a paper for three nights. I advised him that would make it more sense if he called me once he spoke to the clerk instead of me trying him in the morning and afternoon until I reach him. He said OK and asked me for my name and phone number . That's when I realize he was not familiarwith my reservation and he did not know for sure if I signed the paper for three nights. Between him trying to get me to call him again and him insinuating that I signed the paper but not knowing for sure, it raised red flags for me To be truthful I did not look at the paper I just signed it assuming it was all in order as I had just finished on telling the front clerk that I'm only staying one night. I was more concerned about the vagrants being outside and me having to walk through the parking lot to get to my room. I asked Allen if they had cameras in the parking lot and if they did they can see my parked car when I checked in and when I left several hours later early in the morning and that my car was never back after that. Again he was unwilling to put in the effort and advise that he would not check the cameras to see if I was there or not . I also asked him to speak to the front Desk clerk who I described so that he can confirm my conversation. I asked him if he can check my paperwork as I'm on the phone with him to see if I did say three nights or if the clerk did put in for one night and there was just a mixup. His response was the most unprofessional response you can expect in a situation like this. "i'm not going to go thru paperwork right now" I was shocked at that response and insisted that he go through the paperwork because I specifically requested one night and I will not allow him to charge me for three nights because of their mistake. He came back on the phone a minute later and said I signed for three nights and I would have to dispute it with the credit card company. Based on the entire incident I am still not sure if there is a paper that shows I signed for three nights. In any event it was handled completely wrong by the general manager. Even if I did sign that paper he can confirm with the clerk that I advised I only wanted one night you can also check the video and see that I only stayed one night. And if I did sign a paper that said three nights. While I should've reviewed it and not signed it, The front clerk should've given me the right paperwork to begin with. Now yes legally he can charge me for the three nights if I signed that paper But if you can verify I only stayed one night and that the clerk made a mistake, what kind of customer service is that? I gave the general manager the opportunity to do the right thing and even advised him that I would be writing this review and he acted belligerent and could care less. Very bad customer service.

« Dated property with convenient location »

Stayed recently for family vacation. It was extremely cold outside and we were challenged by outside entry to rooms. It is adjacent to the Rockville Centre LIR station which is convenient but the property is dated. There appeared to be many nearby restaurants. The front desk staff was very accommodating although we had an issue with the heat in our room and the overnight front desk was not as helpful. The manager did accommodate us the next morning when he heard about our troubles.

« Good and Convenient Spot »

The hotel had a great location for the work I was doing. was clean at a good price and gave me what i need. Nobody went above and beyond what was necessary, but all did their jobs. Good experience and i will definitely continue to seek out BWs across the county. My experience has been good for a while. Bigs improvements by them over the years.

    « Motel from Hell! »

I stayed at this flea infested, hooker populated and drug runner stopover for work. I have never felt so unsafe, vulnerable and dirty than staying at this hotel. The staff is friendly, especially Mario, who had to escort us to our rooms because the key machine was not working. This meant we could enter our room unless we went to the lobby, waiting for Mario, and walked each of us to our room, every time we went out to eat. My room also came with complimentary dirty used thong, that was left on the lamp shade to dry. The housekeeping came through twice before I found it, which means either the housekeeper left it for me, or it was overlooked. The sounds of the highway felt like each truck was going to enter my room. The bathroom was cleaner than the lampshade, but still I had to shower when I came home and disinfect my clothing. I notified management about the dirty thong, and was not given a new room, or a refund, or any courtesy. A shrug was all I got. Stay away unless you like hookers, drugs, loud cars in your sleep and fleas.

My husband and I enjoyed the stay .The night was very quiet and in the morning they gave good breakfast .I just did not like having to go through the patio to go room because it was very cold and it was snowing

« Was going to give a good review but, »

We were in town for a funeral and were out all day. Came back to hotel to find that housekeeping didn't come to the room. I called the front desk and was told that they respect people's privacy and that if you want housekeeping to come you have to let the front desk know. I told the person on the phone that we were not told this when we checked in. I've stayed at many hotels, including other Best Westerns before and have never heard of such a policy. Guess I won't be leaving a tip nor will I be coming back or recommending.

    « Great Visit »

This hotel is great. I come here every time my business brings me to NY. Linda is great, she always remembers me and makes me feel very welcomed every time I come. So many restaurants, stores and railroad nearby. I definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Horror Show of a Stay! »

I stayed here on my last visit to NY- tried the South Shore and it was a mistake! Checked in on a Saturday Night, they were having a very Ethnic Wedding...and everyone there INCLUDING the main desk couldn't care about regular paying guests...that were NOT PART of the special event. We were given a room that was nearly on the front main street-- literally, there was a door next to our room door that opened onto the sidewalk. People were standing out there talking and smoking. I closed the door and luckily we were so tired from our trip, we were able to get to sleep with the A/Con - even with the road noise etc. We checked out and moved the next day... The parking is next to and part of the Railroad parking, I was so afraid that my car with out of state plates (or should I say "tags") would be broken in to. Luckily the rest of the night and check-out was uneventful, but I won't be back.

    « very convenient location »

I chose this particular property because of its convenient location. Near all the eateries, transportation as well as the businesses. Clean rooms and comfy as well. Staff was professional and responsive. A tremendous location that you will enjoy.

« Cannot do anything but emphatically compliment the staff of this hotel, especially Linda. »

I and my employees stay there often on business and there are several choices of hotels in the area. The entire staff, including housekeeping, are always happy to assist the guests. Linda always greets you with a smile and remembers you by name. Best Western is fortunate to have her.

    « Worth it! »

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times, and just booked my 4th stay. Lots of business travel into the city and this hotel is perfect. The LIRR is right behind the hotel so makes it super convenient to get to the city. You have a 24 hour CVS within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super comfortable. The staff is great. Parking lot is big, so parking is never a problem. Don't have any complaints.

    1
    « NO!!!!!!! »

Upon examination of our bedding I found what I believed to be mouse droppings. I discretely told management what we found and that we would not be comfortable staying at their establishment. The manager said that he would check it out. After he checked on it he informed us that he did not think it was mouse droppings but he thought it might be makeup and would not be able to refund us. I did not argue or cause a scene. I hope that this review will be our justice. Besides this experience this hotel should not be rated 3 stars anyway. A two at best.

« Good People. Building in disrepair. Too expensive. »

The people were great and the bed was clean and comfortable. WiFi was without issue. Sadly, the whole building had an air of neglect and was really showing its age. Door locks didn't work, elevator doors stuck open, the main door into the lobby shook and screeched as it opened. Breakfast was okay (It was free, I don't expect much for free). had we paid $90/night, I would have been satisfied. But we paid almost $400 for a 2-night stay and the value simply is not there.

    1
    « Disappointed »

The hotel room did not appear clean. There was an odor in the room. At 5:02am the noise from the next room was too loud. I called down to the front desk twice before we were able to go back to sleep. :(

    5
    « Stay here! »

Very clean nice room! Wonderful staff! Great free breakfast. Walk right onto the train into the city. Many restaurants in walking distance. Just perfect! The street sounds didn't bother me at all ( nothing to do with the hotel).

    4
    « Thank you! »

Big shout out to Linda who helped me out big time with our visit to the Manhattan. I was in a bind with my car and was too nervous to druve in. She called a family member to ask about local parking (it was check out day for me) and ended up being able to stay parked at Best Western Thanks Linda!!!

    4
    « A very nice hotel! »

Great price! Booked 5 rooms for one night with family for an event nearby. Rooms were clean and neat. Traffic a little noisy, but not the hotel's fault, what can you expect with a busy street and train running so close? Staff was great and accommodating. Bar was nice and Free breakfast very good plus to save us out of towners money!

    3
« The hotel was ok. It was the clientele occupying the rooms that were the problem »

The other occupants at the hotel were the most of the problems. Too noisy. After the first nite the staff helped us change our room. It was Halloween wee do I guess the clientele were partying overtime

    3
    « A Utilitarian Hotel »

I was attending an evening reception at an event space nearby and wanted to sleep over. This place had reasonable rates and was fairly clean. The bed was comfortable. I found the downside was that you can hear everything on the street and the air conditioner is very loud. When I woke in the morning I heard a commotion outside. There were police cars and an ambulance. I heard someone jumped from the fifth floor. When I put my luggage in the car I was fortunate that it was on the other side of the police tape because there were bloody towels on the ground. It wasn't the hotel's fault. The continental breakfast was very good. My brother enjoyed the eggs, I had a fresh waffle and my girlfriend had a yogurt.

    4
    « No major complaints »

I was having a medical procedure in a nearby hospital which required an overnight stay. Since I live about 70 miles away it was a tremendous burden lifted off my shoulder to find this hotel so we didn't have to endour rush hour traffic on the morning of. Plus, it was nice that my husband who has leukemia had a place to rest in between visiting hours. There were lots of restaurants near by for him to dine at too. He enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the restaurant for dinner. Then dined out the next day. Water pressure in the shower could've been better as well as the comfort of the bed...but overall it was a good stay.

« This place is terrible »

We check in in sat. Oct 21 . Seemed nice . Until we got to our room. Everything was old. Then at night at 2:00 until 5:00 am. Kids were skateboarding screaming it was scary I have no idea what was going on. No security. Told the front desk in the morning. Who was nice Andrew he told me to contact the general manager. What a disgrace this place is. I say do not stay here. It was noisy & scary . They were banging on doors. We should of called the police.

Do not stay here, this is not a hotel it is motel and it's a dump. The night and early morning staff are rude, the rooms are noisy and small and over priced. This might section 8 housing unit. People were hanging out in the parking lot we felt unsafe. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

« We are locals and needed a place to stay during our apartment renovations »

I just spent 3 weeks in the Best Western in Rockville Centre. I must say that the staff is wonderful, and Linda is the best. The rooms are clean and the service is great. They have a good breakfast in the morning, not just Danish and bagels. They have eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, and much more. But I can't say enough about the staff, Linda is so helpful.

    1
    « Dirty »

Shower could not turn on. The maintenance guy couldn't get it to work, so how on earth was housekeeping able to clean the shower without running water? How can they provide a room where the shower does not work at all? Either housekeeping didn't clean the bathroom or they reported it to management and they did nothing to fix it. Also, why is Best Western so stupid to ask me to review this hotel? I just completed a survey on my experience that was very poor, then at the end they ask me to make a public review? So many layers of stupid going on here.

    2
    « Not impressed »

We arrived to find no parking spots. We had to park in the LIRR lot and hope we wouldn't get ticketed. The doors open to the outside which made it very loud. The doors to the upper floors were supposed to lock at 10pm (per the sign on the door), but we opened and went through it at 11pm. Considering the amount of random people lingering around the parking lot, I didn't feel very safe, especially with the doors open. The 3 times we left and returned to the property there were no parking spots and we had to park next door. It's not a private location, it's right next to a gas station and crowded shopping centers, so I feel it's really easy for people to just wander onto the property. Upon checkout, I approached the front desk and the woman working there just looked at me. I said, "I'm checking out," and gave her my key card, and she just nodded and did something on her computer and said, "you're all set" without smiling or asking us how our stay was. It seemed odd. The shower was pretty gross and had brown stains all over the bottom of it. The pillows were not standard size, they were small squares and were not comfortable at all. They give you about 10 of them, so I'm not sure why they couldn't have regular sized pillows and just give you fewer of them. Overall, we weren't very happy here, but we got what we paid for...it was the most inexpensive hotel we could find in the area.

    « it's like a 2nd Home »

The wife and I come here to visit our daughter at Molloy College on a regular basis. The location is great. Walking distance to the LIRR for easy travel to Penn Station, Manhattan. Access to lots of restaurants and shops. The rooms are a great value for the pricing - spacious, clean, and comfortable and free breakfast in the mornings. Most of all, the staff are courteous, professional, and friendly. I had great conversations and travel tips from them being from the West Coast; it's like a visiting an extended family.

    « Don't check in late »

We checked in late with our baby and ended up in possibly one of the worst room of the hotel. Street level and next to elevator. Needless to say we had a bad experience. No sympathy from manager or staff

    « Great Local spot »

I needed a last minute room for an overnight stay. Thankfully, their staff went the extra mile to accommodate my request. I would highly recommend the Mill River Manor for their extremely clean and comfortable accommodations. The front desk staff, especially Linda, was very helpful and friendly. The price point was more than reasonable and the complimentary breakfast made my stay complete. Conveniently, near transportation, dozens of restaurants and attractions make the Manor a gem. Why it even has a major Chase branch right a across the street. A great spot indeed.

    « Adequate »

The hotel provides a bed, a TV, good breakfast, is reasonably clean. Could it use a renovation? Yes. The service at breakfast and behind the desk is attentive. The location is good if you are visiting Rockville Centre. I'd hate to pay more than $150 for a room here.

« The Best Place for Our Conference Guests »

Though I live a mere 10 minutes away in the town over, I have to say that the courteous and professional staff at The Best Western made me want to stay the weekend that we had our music business conference there. Our panelists and speakers had nothing but great comments about the service and the staff. Linda, the director of sales was instrumental is securing two rooms at the last minute for two of our guests who needed to stay an additional night due to change in flights.

« Friendly Staff, Not so Friendly Guest »

This hotel is clean and staff is wonderful. I have had a better cup of coffee, but there is plenty of places to go to eat around town and get a cup of coffee. it is very conveniently located to many things which is a huge plus if you are not able to have a vehicle. However be aware, the cliental this currently serves is awful. One man stood outside chain smoking and taking phone calls all day and night. Another thing is, I saw multiple families staying.... which makes me feel like it's boarding for DSS. Also I am pretty sure I saw a drug deal go down in the parking lot. Needless to say ok for a man to stay but a single woman or family? I would not recommend.

« Room doors open to the outside »

I'm not comfortable with a hotel where the room doors open to the outside. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The free WiFi kept cutting in and out. There's a free breakfast that's quite humble. Considering that the hotel is in bagel land, the bagels were more like white bread. The coffee was good.

« An Alternative to High Priced Hotels »

Take the time to consider this property on Sunrise Highway the next time you are visiting NYC. This town will give you that small town feeling as you walk around the neighborhood and talk to the friendly community. The greatest attraction is the LIRR that offers an affordable and short ride into Penn Station. This hotel extends a safe haven for you, your vehicle and belongings. You can't go wrong at Rockville Centre!!!

    « Very disappointed »

Arrived at hotel approx. 9 pm. No parking available in hotel lot. Front desk clerk generously offered his parking spot. Upon arriving in room, noticed floor lamp was tilting to one side and could not be straightened. It was a cool September evening and room was cool. Called front desk and he advised me to turn unit to "heat" position and run for awhile.Tried that but still no heat. Noticed cabinet for refrigerator had large gouges in it. Ceiling had watermarks from a apparent leak. No hot water in vanity sink in the morning. Overall VERY DISAPPOINTED and would never stay here again.

« clean and comfortable rooms »

staff was very friendly. the rooms were clean and comfortable. a little pricey but worth it. also close to many restaurants within walking distance and there was a restaurant in the hotel and breakfast was included. breakfast options weren't top notch but they were adequate. would have rated overall experience excellent had the breakfast been better.

    « Nice stay »

This is my third time I stayed in this hotel. The hotel is very basic but maintained properly. Required amenities are available in rooms, coffee machine, oven, fridge, wifi, etc. The only concerns I had is, air conditioner was giving a noise and very limited breakfast options. If hotel management can work out something on this, it will be perfect. Reception staff is always welcoming and helpful except for one staff member at reception at evening/night, I don't know her name. I called the hotel (one day before traveling) from Mumbai (Int'l call) to inform them for possibility of early check-in, and the receptionist picked up my call and kept on hold for couple of minutes (in spite I told her that I am calling from Mumbai) and then she informed me somehow in a rude tone that she can't do this !!. Needs training here, for handling customer calls. Location of hotel is perfect, 2 min walk to Rockville center train station, 2 min walk to super market, many restaurants, pub, bar options within walkable distance. So overall it's good option for stay. I can think of staying again, if management fixes some of the concerns mentioned above.

« Good Stay at a Sad Time »

We flew into New York from Los Angeles to attend my mother's funeral. The last thing we would have needed was stress about our accommodations. Thanks to Best Western, we had none. The hotel is situated near where we had to be, with restaurants nearby, a healthy breakfast onsite, and other amenities if we had needed them. Thanks for making our stay easy under the circumstances.

    « Home from Home »

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay for 6 nights. From the staff to the room it was excellent. The restaurant attached to the hotel was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is run professionally and with excellent customer service. I will return

    « Nice Overnight Stay »

We blocked rooms for my husband's birthday celebration. Family and friends from out of town were coming. We all stayed at the Best Western on sunrise hwy. The price was reasonable and the hotel was nice. I love coming to a clean hotel and I was very pleased when I got into the room. The bed was very comfortable and it had a microwave and a mini refrigerator. Great stay!

« Sky is the best! »

Needed a last minute place to stay.. very clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating, especially Sky.. I thought I had lost a sentimental piece of jewelry and called to see if I had left it..Sky promised that she would find out if it was there and call me back. Despite her hectic day, she kept her word and called me back. She and her coworker Sri were so friendly. This hotel is lucky to have them.

    « Excellent accomodations & cleaniness. »

Excellent. We came to a wedding and all the guests stayed here, even the bridal party. The gift bags from the Bride & Groom were adorable. If you helped with that, you did a great job!!! The breakfast was amazing and we could not believe the choices we had for everything. It was also very clean and someone came out and asked us if we needed anything. We all met after the wedding and had a great time over coffee talking about the evening.

    « Superb Service »

I am a frequent visitor to the Best Western Mill River Manor in Rockville Center, NY! The staff there are always attentive to their guests needs specifically the front desk staff Angelo, Sky, and Linda they really go above and beyond to make sure EVERY guest comes, stays, and leaves happy (not that I ever want to)! I have never seen a hotel run so well!!!!! The housekeeping staff (Gladys, Rosa) are top notch as well, each and every room is thoroughly cleaned and when I say, thoroughly, I mean these ladies even lift up the mattresses off the frames to make sure that there's no dirt, debris, crumbs, or anything else left behind, you never have to worry about or question if the sheets or the pillowcases have been changed; trust me they have!!! The housekeeping Supervisor Luz comes behind and double checks every room to ensure everything in the rooms are up to par! Even the maintenance man Paul was awesome he saw me walking across the parking lot with my arms full of bags and bottled water and ran to my aid to help me carry my belongings up to the room while all the other people just stared or walked by me as I struggled!!! The list goes on and on!!! Thank you Best Western Mill River Manor for your exemplary service and accommodations! (I was not compensated or accommodated for this Review this truly comes from the heart)!!!!!

    « last minute stay »

This was a last minute stay. The rooms were clean except for the non privacy drape, the beds were comfortable there was no lifeguard so yo couldn't go in the pool but it was a short stay so that was OK

    « Keep Coming Back »

I've stayed here many times. The staff is helpful and the rooms are clean. Some fixtures in the rooms could be updated or changed. It's close to the long island railroad. The hotels is very walkable, with lots of near by food choices.

    3
    « Just Ok »

Good hotel for the price. No issues with the service, staff, or room cleanliness at all. The beds however really need to be changed out. The mattresses are old and sag..badly! Parking is an issue as well, as spaces are VERY close together and you will be squeezing into a spot - if you can find one, on the property

    « Almost perfect »

My daughter and I stayed for one night. Check in was a breeze. The person checking us in was very sweet. Check out took one second. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly very good, better than I've had at other hotels. Not only bagels and muffins, but eggs, sausage, bacon and waffles too. The only thing I have to complain about was the bed and pillows. The room was verizon, very clean. The bathroom was spotless. The bed linens were very clean. But the mattress was too soft for people with back issues. I couldn't get comfortable at all. And the pillows were also way too soft. I used two on top of one another and still felt like I was laying with my head flat. May be time to update the pillows. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable stay

    « Great customer service »

We recently visited family on Long Island and stayed at Best Western Mill River Manor. This property is definitely not a manor, but is a clean, convenient hotel/motel in a busy section of the city. We found the staff to be kind and polite, especially Sree who upgraded my husband and I to a suite and gave us a special room rate upon hearing that it was our anniversary. She was personable and friendly and really made us feel special. We did find the place to be a bit noisy (beer containers outside the rooms) and we really didn't like that because the rooms are open to the outside there were people smoking everywhere- including in the elevator! However I do feel that the staff works to prevent problems like this and would have been responsive if we had brought these issues to their attention.

    5
« Great Experience, Great Service »

We really enjoyed the location, the facilities, and the staff. A minor inconvenience of the toilet flooding, and the staff upgraded us to a suite which was above our expectations. We enjoyed the location and the facilities.

« Excellent Customer Service - Great Location »

Thanks to Sree, Linda, and Andrew! Before even arriving at the hotel, I received kind and informative customer service from the Best Western Mill River Manor staff. Sree was very helpful with my reservations and during our stay. The hotel is clean, in a perfect location, very close to the train (quick train ride to the city) and so many delicious food options are within walking distance. We would certainly choose to stay there again. Finding a hotel in a great location which is clean and great customer service is a gem.

    « Room Block »

I recently coordinated a family party which required reserving a block of rooms. I contacted Linda, the sales manager for the Best Western Mill River, who eagerly and efficiently assisted me in arranging a room block. I made the room block for two nights, but Linda and her team accommodated those guests who made a reservation outside the room block, at the same rate. Additionally, she called me about a month before to update me on the room block. My guests were happy with their accomodations, and i was happy that everything went smoothly. Thank you Linda and the staff of Best Western Mill River.

    « Family Reunion »

My stay at the Best Western Mill River was comfortable and professional.. The staff was helpful and concerned... When my 2 elderly aunts went missing in the hotel for a few minutes the gentlemen behind the desk went to check the cameras and found them in the bathroom on the lower level near the gym.. I was so relieved and happy that they were found... Thank God.. Kudos to your staff...

I had attended a Family reunion at the Best Western Ballroom, I just have to say the bartender was rude and he appear to have an attitude, the food was appetizing it's wasn't I expected although the young waiting staff was very friendly and professional I guess that's what the one star is for.

What can I say about the Best Western? The Best Western is very family oriented. The staffs here are simply the best. Andrew Hickey!words can't explain how much of a Gentleman,he is so understanding, kind and approachable, thoughtful, compassionate and such a delight.I hope his boss knows how much of an assets he is to this company..May the good Lord continue to bless and keep him always..Love you Andrew Hickey. Linda Olivera,is one of the most on hands and organize person, her and Andrew works excellent as a team. At first I didn't know how to approach her,but once I did I can tell anyone she is so sweet and a delight to talk to,very understanding and must I say she have an answer to all your questions. Sree,I can stand at the desk and converse with her all day,she makes you laugh and always ready to help. Oh she is very, very kind and compassionate. Allan Chan,he is such a giant teddy bear always smiling and never pass without saying good morning. I hope and pray this team stay together, cause with people like them you can't go anyway but up. Stay anywhere else.....Our reservation was lost after booking weeks in advance. Finally got a room after waiting over an hour. Welcome bags for all of our wedding guests not given out, sat behind the counter. Room AC sounded like a 747 was in the room.....Do I need to say more? Utter disaster.

Poolside during the day, then went to the weight room for a little workout, the to the computer room to check my email, ate a nice meal at the on site restaurant, then watched the fireworks from the 4th floor balcony. Very nice.

    « Good, but »

Very clean room, good breakfast, very kind staff, but a little bit too noisy. More a motel than a hotel, swimming pool is outdoor, you have a 24h grocery and pharmacy at 2 min walk. I certainly won't go back there.

The location of the hotel is perfect, convenient to everything- including the LIRR. It givves you a taste of the city without being in the craziness of it. Rooms are kept clean. Hotel staff is very cordial and accommodating. Hot Complimentary Breakfast doesn't disappoint.

    « Noise »

M..... making noise at 3:00am and the direction did nothing about it. "make America great again" will not happen here". Room clean, noisy environment : road, train, and some unrrspectful idiots. Maybe the best hotel in this crappy area.

    « BW Rockville Centre N.Y. »

Good value, dated, not as clean as possible. Has a pool and workout room and free breakfast. Easy to get to. Good staff; Free paper. Free breakfast. Ice, but have to go downstairs. Bed hard as a rock; sheets minimal. Work out room, minimalist, in basement. Coffee awful, wish I could buy a good cup. BRING A KEURIG AND CUPS. Iron in room. Ice box in room. table and chair in room. Internet free, slowish.

    « Wedding Party »

The rooms and service were great! Sales rep 'Linda' stayed in touch after the sale. It was an important occasion for us and Best Western made our experience special. Each detail from the parking lot to check out was satisfactory.

    2
    « Disappointment »

Although clean, this motel is a disappointment. It is outdated and in serious need of renovation. Access to rooms is from parking lot. Haven't experienced that in years! Service is good, breakfast is the usual. Not too many healthy options that aren't carbs.

    2
    « More of a Motel than a Hotel »

We visited this hotel while in the area for an Engagement Party. The decor of the hotel is dated and the lobby area is super small and dingy looking. The restaurant wasn't open when we arrived around lunch time and the breakfast was sit down when we left. Neither was conducive to our travel needs. When we got home from the party around 9 there seemed to be parties going on in the hotel rooms. There were groups of people sitting outside one of the lower level rooms and a group of people outside a top floor room. Smoking, drinking, etc. If I were staying solo, I wouldn't have felt comfortable. I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend unless this was your only option.

    4
« Great value for the price »

Walking distance to St Agnes Cathedral (for weddings & funerals) and to the LIRR for those doing business in NYC. We stayed in the new wing, where the rooms are small but comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The staff (front desk and cleaning ladies) were pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again, and recommend it to others.

    « Not what I expected »

Hotel is more like a motel. Not worth the price. Very old and cheap. It's situated right near train tracks, you can hear the train go by. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Not what I was expecting at all.

    1
    « Not Fair »

Price during the booking was not honored at the arrival and was charged much higher price. Would have stayed at 4 star or 5 star hotel with the price I paid.Do not take advantage of customer just because he is in need and there is an exploitation opportunity.

    « Excellent stay »

The hotel is in a great location next to many bars, restaurants, cvs, liquor store. Close to train for easy city access. Great friendly staff. Clean rooms. Ate at the attached Italian rrestaurant which was excellent. It has a bar/lounge as well. Food was delicious and wait staff amazing. Free hotel breakfast is actually served in same restaurant which worked out great with seating for our large group that stayed there. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, etc We stayed there as a group for a banquet at the ballroom on property which was also wonderful! So if you're looking to hold an event I highly recommend. We had 125 people. Rooms are elegant. Food and service excellent. I have read previous reviews complaining about noise. We had no issues even with a room near train. It is Long Island so everyone should expect it to be a busy area with prices higher than the rest of the country. The only thing I can say about the stay that was a slight negative was low water pressure. But that's reaching for a con. Highly recommend!

    5
« Excellent service and value »

Front desk and breakfast staff were extremely helpful. The bed was super comfortable, with crisp linens. Breakfast had hot eggs and sausage, and make your own waffles in addition to juice, cereal, yogurt, muffins, etc. Check for online rates before booking directly with the hotel for best rates. Room included a microwave and refrigerator, which was very helpful because I use lactose free milk and had brought this with me. This is a motel type facility with outdoor corridors. Amenities were great.

    2
    « Poor Security »

Well we had issues with someone from another floor throw a beer bottle down into the parking lot almost hitting friends of ours, I called down to the front desk and gave them the specific room number of the person who it as I saw it happen. The woman assured me she was sending security up, upon security coming up he did absolutely nothing not even a knock on the door. Instead tried to tell me that nothing happened. This is completely unacceptable, upon my insistence that he do something he instead threatened to have me thrown out of the hotel.

    « "Family is everthing" »

My husband and I came to New York this weekend because one of our family members is suffering with stage 4 cancer. This trip was very emotional for both of us. When we left Virginia Beach, to arrived in Long Island we had no idea where we were going to stay. After being very disappointed by several hotels in the area we decided to try the Best Western. As soon as we arrived Andrew and Sky greeted us. They never knew what we were dealing with, but they had all great intentions to make sure we were comfortable. When we received our first room my husband didn't care for the location. Andrew immediately with no hesitation changed our room. Sky, was so pleasant through the entire change as well. This hotel and the people in it gave us such a professional and accommodating stay, this is my hotel as we embark on our family members journey with cancer. Thanks again: Linda, Andrew, Sky. You all were amazing.

« More motel than hotel »

I would say more suited for a one or two night travel through. It's motel style outside facing access hinders privacy. Guests basically have to keep curtains closed. The surrounding area is busy and can get noisy. The hotel is located on a main intersection adjacent to a train station. The room was fairly small but again, good for one night. I didn't have time to try its amenities.

« Linda is the best! »

Chose this location due to an early flight out of LaGuardia. The location was perfect. Easy walk to LIRR and several good restaurants. Linda helped us with the LIRR, arranged our early departure ride to the airport, suggested excellent restaurants. Price was good. We had limited hot water one morning. I mentioned it to Linda and she had it addressed immediately.

« GREAT front desk staff, but awful stay »

There were very few positives about this hotel. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and sweet, the free WiFi was rock-solid, and the room was clean. Everything else was subpar. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, so much so that my back and legs ached by the third morning. The breakfast was mediocre and set up in a way that caused crowding and awkwardness. Given that the hotel is across from the railroad station, you would think that trains would be the noisiest aspect of our stay...but no. The housekeeping carts made a huge clatter on the sidewalks outside the room early in the morning, housekeeping staff called loudly to one another outside rooms, and a group of partiers were screaming at one another most of Thanksgiving night. It may be the noisiest place I've ever stayed. The hotel itself is clearly an old motel that was renovated; I know it's New York, but the $153/night charged seemed excessive under the circumstances. I can't say enough good about the front desk staff, though. They really went out of their way to address issues with our reservation and other problems. I wish that were enough to make up for the rest.

Nice clean hotel. Room equipped with clean linen, towels etc. Room temperature was working properly. Wonderful hot breakfast. Very nice front desk clerks. Close proximity to surround stores and strip malls. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker included in the room. Every person at this hotel is great but one person stands out among the rest. Linda Olivieri, the Director of Sales, is top notch. This is my fourth time staying here in the past year and she has always tried to accommodate my needs. Her friendliness and helpfulness is always appreciated. Location of this hotel is another reason why I choose Best Western in RVC. It is walking distance to train, shops, restaurants, movies etc.

« Good value choice for the area »

Friendly staff, nice property, good variety breakfast, clean rooms. Perfect for staying and near ground transportation. If you are sensitive to sound when sleeping, trains and planes might create some room noise but not a problem for me. Good value for the area. Would come again for sure.

« Good deal for your money »

For the last several years I have been staying at the Best Western Mills River Manor when traveling to Long Island. It is not a luxury hotel, but neither is there a luxury price. The rooms are clean, the hotel staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the area. In the past several years I have been staying here I have never had a complaint about this place. At first I was looking for a cheap place that was not a no-tell hotel. Now I rely on the Best Western Mill River Manor whenever I go to that area or to New York City. Parking is free at the hotel and there is a free breakfast every morning. Although this hotel is not in New York City, the hotel is 1/2 block from the Long Island Railroad which would take you right into midtown Manhattan for a 45 minute ride. I recently booked a block of rooms at the hotel for an event I was having at another location. The woman I dealt with, Linda, could not have been more helpful. She was always available for questions and gave me a good group rate.

    « Class Reunion »

On September 24th our 50th class reunion banquet took place at the Best Western Mill River Manor. Knowing we would need a block of rooms to accommodate all our out of town guest I contacted Linda Olivieri, Director of Sales. From the moment I spoke to her I was at ease knowing that she was going to take care of blocking off our rooms, obtaining a special rate, giving me all the necessary information my classmates would need to make their reservation. Upon request she sent me a list of classmates that had booked a room. This gave me an actual account of who were to get gift baskets. Dealing with Linda and the entire staff was a breeze. Thank you for a great experience. As for the rooms, not one complaint came across to me. Our banquet was held in the hotel at the Gramercy Ballroom, the food was very good, service and décor outstanding I highly recommend the facility. Jeff Boltz, Banquet Manager made sure the evening went without a hitch.

    « A Great Hotel Experience »

After a fantastic experience during an extended business trip last year, I came back to the Best Western in Mill River Manor for because of the superior service I constantly receive here. The staff, Linda, Andrew and their coworkers, are always ready with a welcoming smile, and friendly service. I have not, in the accumulated months I have stayed at this hotel, had a negative experience. They always make you feel like a welcomed guest. I will continue to stay here anytime my business brings me back to New York.

    « Still mediocre »

This is now, for all practical purposes a welfare hotel. Whole families living there. I completely understand and sympathize with their plight, but I should not be duped into believing that this is a prime hotel when it is not. Noisy air conditioning and TINY room...I will not return.

    « No indoor hallways »

Very nice staff, but deceptive website photos! Smelly room and doors open outside!!! quite scary as I had no idea it was a hotel like that! and I had never been to one of those. Also I was there with my 10 year old daughter, last minute booking going to JFK to pick up family and head back to MD. I could not sleep all night, left at the crack of dawn. Will never ever book a Best Western ever again!

    « It's all about service »

We found this hotel when displaced by Hurricane Sandy four years ago, and were very impressed by the way this hotel is run from top to bottom. very well run from mgmt to desk staff, housekeeping and maintenence. Since then we moved out of the way of the water in Florida but our whole family is still in NY, so this is our first choice.. Linda at the front desk is the best and Alan, the branch mgr. is very good at what he does. We always leave happy.

« Convenient, Friendly Staff, Great Location »

Close to the LIRR wihtin walking distance. Plenty of shops around, also has a restaurant. Convenient to many locations in the area. I was on business and this was the best place to stay. Hotel could use some facelift

    1
    « Cockroaches »

Disgusting- Cockroaches in my room, I would never stay here, The room should never have any bugs, this is a total nightmare for any guest to arrive and then find any bugs in your room, who wants to now take all your personal belongings and place them in a large garbage bag then take them to a laundry mat to clean so that you don't take any bugs back to your home!!!!

« LINDA OLIVIERI MAKES THIS HOTEL!!! »

Am in NY on business at least four times a year, Obviously, I have a choice of many different hotels, but I constantly return to this one because of the service provided by Ms. Linda Olivieri. Her overall supervision insures that I get what iI need without asking. The onsite restaurant is a good, Italian restuarant and the equal of many of those in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

    « Super-helpful! »

Linda of Group Sales helped with bookings for my son's wedding. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating of special requests and modifications of reservations, and the front desk staff was unfailingly welcoming and competent at keeping and handing out the many misc. things we needed to give to one another. She recommended All--Island Taxi for vans to venue, and they were prompt and clean--what more could we want? Rooms were just right, and the RR station across the street made coming and going into the city a breeze. By all means let this hotel make your stay in the RVC area hassle-free.

    « Great Stay »

Enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. Staff was very friendly, housekeeping did a great job, and the room was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast, and the location was great for us. We plan to stay with them again when we visit that part of New York in the future.

« Best Manager Linda Olivieri »

We had great experience staying at this hotel, the staff are very friendly I met the manager Linda Olivieri and she is very accomodating she made sure that our stay will be as comfortable as could be, the place is very convenient to good restaurants, train station, shopping etc.

great stay hotel staff very good rooms clean bed comfortable.guest checking out make noise outside of the rooms balconies in the morning on weekends.parking is a little tight if you get there late night but overall good time close to many resturants walking distance about 15 different ones from mexican to susuhi safe area.

    « overall experience »

Clean rooms, great location.A bit pricy mid week considering no room service. There are resturants that will deliver to room.there is a restaurant in hotel itself quite reasonable and good. The matress in this room was in need of replacement although, I have stayed here quite a few times and never had this problem

« Great Place to Stay & Close to Train »

The stay at this Best Western was quite comfortable and conveniently located to the train, good restaurants, & other shopping! It was easy to get to the City from the train each day. My family and I enjoyed the stay there overall.

« Small Motel- Pleasant Staff- Free Parking »

It's a small motel. There is a Small swimming pool. Rooms are spacious and parking is free. Staff is very pleasant and breakfast is average (Muffins, toast, Milk, Coffee, Tea, Waffles, scrambled eggs).

    « Great Customer service »

this was a friends trip out to Jones Beach. Last year we just happened upon the Best Western Mill River Manor. We had such a great time there we booked again. I worked with Linda Olivieri as we were coming to stay 2 nights with a group of about 8-10 and needed multiple rooms. They were very accommodating and wonderful to work with, I had only spoken to Linda on the phone but she somehow knew it was me and introduced herself. Sree at the front desk was amazing and they both made us feel like old friends. Will definitely stay here again when we return to our concert in Jones Beach. Everyone was great...The breakfast is amazing..not just your standard continental breakfast. The pool, and pool area is clean and happened to be empty this stay. Thank You Linda & Sree!!! the rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable. Angela

    « US Open 2016 »

Linda from front desk made our check in easy and gave us options at check in. Also helped with train schedule to get to the city. Breakfast was excellent. The room is very clean. I will always stay at this best western

    « A great find »

This hotel was a good find! It was clean, comfortable bed, decent breakfast, great location. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Close access to trains into the city, and we felt safe as we walked out in the early evening. Yes I'd recommend this hotel .

« Last minute reservation, just the job »

Good value motel style/ hotel about 25 minutes from JFK. Clean surroundings and, although basic, comfortable accommodation and good friendly service. Free wifi, that came in very handy when trying to sort out flight reservations. Breakfast is adequate, waffle machine, cereal, etc. Very conveniently located next to train station, you can catch a train to Penn Station in Manhattan, approx transit time 40 mins.

« a place where they know my name »

i havent been here in a few months but andrew and linda remembered me right away. It's nice when you can immediately feel comfortable walking into a place. i also met Justina sky and sree this time and they were very pleasant as well. this is definitely my go to hotel and i will be back. the location and the rooms are great and the wifi is much improved. also if you need anything the managers linda and andrew will make it happen

    « Satisfaction guaranteed »

We have stayed at various hotels in the area and this Best Western definitely provides very good services and price value for the area. The staff is very personable and knowledgeable of activities in the area. They are always very willing to help to make your stay most enjoyable. Price, service and quality-can't ask for anything more.

    4
    « My Son & I »

We stayed here because we have a friend that lives in Rockville Centre and it ended up being a very good decision. The hotel is just steps away from the Long Island Railroad, which is a 25 minute ride to Penn Station. This is my new goto hotel on Long Island. The property is clean and the service was good. The area is safe and there are plenty of nearby restaurants open late for food and drinks.

    4
    « Good enough »

We needed a place to stay for one night to attend a wedding. For our purposes, this place was just fine. It was clean, parking was accessible, there was a fridge, bathroom was clean, bed comfortable. For a place to crash in the area, this was good enough. Don't forget to ask for a military discount if you an entitled! They have one!

    4
    « Clean and comfortable »

Older hotel with clean, comfortable updated rooms. We stayed for a wedding with a group and they were great. My kids enjoyed the included breakfast. The location is fabulous being so close to the LIRR. No complaints at all.

    3
    « Average & Overpriced »

The employees overall were very pleasant it was just the guy in the kitchen at breakfast that turned me off by acting like we were getting in his way while he was on the clock.???? The bathroom shower drains need to be adjusted and you need to reinforce to people that smoking is not allowed in public areas. My room was by the door and each time I came out someone was smoking right in my face. Also a group of girls sat right in front of the entrance to the elevator talking and smoking...seriously???

« Needs Updates, Plumbing Issues »

Six of us stayed at this hotel for a wedding block of rooms. We arrived and it was more of a motel style, very run down on the outside, Small rooms, sink took forever to drain. If you are not particular about your short stays, this is fine.

    5
« We keep coming back »

Thank you to the staff the wonderful breakfast spread. My kids love love love the Belgian waffles. We stay every summer and enjoy the pool. From the reservation to check out every one is so helpful and friendly. Lots of things around the hotel so you don't feel isolated; The pool makes you feel very private and fun. Every year my kids make new friends. Thank you Linda Oliviera for always having friendly conversation. We will keep coming back.. I ask my kids if they want to try a new place they always say no we like it here. and we are building memories.

« Always Feels like Home »

We have been staying at the Rockville Center Location for at least 5 years. We have always had excellent customer service and reasonable rates.....After Hurricane Sandy a few years ago, things were a little crowded and not great at times, but we managed to get through it with the cooperation of a very professional and friendly staff. The recent renovations have surely made the quality of this hotel wonderful!

    3
« Don't go to the restaurant here! »

We ate at the restaurant but didn't stay at the hotel. The food was terrible! Rockville Centre has LOTS of excellent restaurants just a few blocks from the hotel. Just cross Sunrise Hwy. and turn left. On Park Ave. & a bit further on Sunrise there are many really good restaurants.

    2
    « Not a good stay. »

Bathtub was clogged. Did not know it would be since the bathroom looked remodeled. When it came time for my shower, I was standing in 3 inches of water that included my filth and the many people's that stayed in that room before me. If they cleaned their bathrooms they would know it was clogged, but i guess they don't clean them properly. The bed was comfortable and the sheets seemed clean. The curtains were not clean and the flooring (laminate wood imitation) was not clean. The area was a bit shady and the breakfast not the best. Did not see an elevator, so it it inconvenient for the handicapped.

    3
    « Its just average »

During my stay the noise from the street did not allow for a comfortable stay. There is a small hallway on the first floor to get on the elevator and it smells of urine. The bed was very uncomfortable and the breakfast was mediocre. It was not the best nor the worst hotel stay I've ever had.

« Great host hotel for HS reunion »

This hotel did a great job with coordinating event and hotel rooms for large group for our HS Reunion. Event was fun and all had plenty of space to connect and catch up. Facilities were reasonable and staff was great.

« Awesome place to stay »

The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is very clean and quiet. The rooms are beautiful and very up to date. For the price it is well worth it. The train to the city is also very close in walking distance. .

« Professional and a pleasure to work with »

I just booked a one night stay for my family coming from out of town. I spoke with Linda Oliverri who was not only polite and professional but went above and beyond to assist me. She not only answered all my (many) questions but even went so far as to book a car service for them upon checkout and even offer alternate modes of transportation. Truly a delight to speak with her. I highly recommend!

« Good place for staying »

It is a nice place for staying for one night especially after arriving in New York in the evening. It offers either a nice accommodation or good service during staying. Both parking and breakfast there are okay for me, although the place is a little far from the JFK airport.

    3
    « Eh.... »

Visited here for work. Picked this location as it was close by to our work location. Motel is newer and is in pretty good condition. For whatever reason, hotel/motel rooms AC units don't work well. I had it cranked all the way cold and still wasn't great. unit only would turn on when it wanted to. one would think if it was max cold it would about always be on until its a freezer in the room. it wasn't. hotel location is ok. Building is located right ON a main road (Sunrise Highway). Heavy traffic all night long. room I had was close to the street so not sure if it would be much quieter further into the hotel away from the street... but the backside then had the railroad. Building is located in a good neighborhood with plenty of resturants and bars to explore.

    3
    « A bed for the night! »

Needed a room quick and the best western was the only place available . They overbooked the rooms I guess, we booked for two beds and receive one. We are a family of four, so they gave us a rollout bed. The rollout was very uncomfortable and it barely fit in the room. The room was very very basic. Bottom line it's a bed with a roof over your head.

    3
« Excellent Location, Uninspired Room.... »

The lobby of the hotel was beautiful, however, the room was mediocre at best. This hotel received the best ratings out of all of the hotels in the surrounding area. It was for that reason I booked. I also loved the fact that it was so close to town- Rockville Centre restaurants and bars within walking distance (blocks away).

    4
    « 2nd stay - will return »

Family of 4 with two young kids. Stayed for 3 nights. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It was extremely warm outside but inside AC kept things cool. Outdoor pool was clean and well needed. Will return.

« We always stay here »

We have stayed here all the time for the past five years and they have met all expectations all the time. The location couldn't be better. Surrounded by Restaurant and business and easy access to get around. The staff is great from housekeeping to front desk. Everyone is helpful especially Linda and Andrew at the front desk.

    « Wedding Weekend »

Thank you to Linda at the Best Western for taking such great care of me and my family! She was simply amazing! She was there every step of the way and made sure everything was perfect! She answered my 100s of emails and phone calls and made sure we were satisfied! She's the best! We also had our rehearsal dinner at Cala di Mare and it was fabulous as well! Thank you!

    « Wonderful, Convenient, Extraordinary »

I stayed here for a friend's wedding and these hotel operators truly stepped it up. It's my first time at a Best Western and they made me a believer. This hotel is tucked away in the middle of urban flare, but you can hardly believe. I couldn't believe we were in the outskirts of NYC. The lobby is very spacious, inviting and professionally decorated. There is cold lemon water, hot water and coffee available nearly the whole day. The front desk staff were very helpful and easy to speak to. The hotel offer's your traditional continental breakfast. Absolutely no gripes there at all. The property offers a pretty good gym to boot. You have a treadmill, stationary bike, and elliptical. In addition, they have one of those all in one machines where you can work your chest, legs, arms etc. This is more than sufficient to do the job and then some. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My room had a flat screen on the wall, a small desk and a love seat. The room fit the bill! This property also has a very nice sized pool for boot. This property will meet your expectations and may even surpass them.

    4
    « Convenient to NYC »

I had a very comfortable stay that made it easy to hop on the LIRR and get into the City in a half-hour, at a much better rate than within Manhattan itself. With a clean, comfortable bed, Internet, and breakfast - that's all I needed.

    5
    « Great stay »

Had an overnight getaway/ mental health day. The hotel staff was so sweet and knowledgeable on the area and the hotel amenities. I asked where and what floor I wanted to be placed on which was nice since there was a sweet sixteen going on and what seemed to be a contractor show in the hotel. I was placed on a quiet floor away from everything. The room set up was great, bed comfortable and fit for this Queen. Will go back again

  • 5
    « Convenient & Comfortable »

Our group enjoyed our stay. Loved the outside hallways, good size of rooms, complimentary breakfast and great service! Nice neighborhood convenient to shops and restaurants, and we took the Long Island train into the city several times. The train stop is right near the hotel. I would definitely come back here again!

    3
« Not bad, not great »

As the hotels where I usually stay in the area were booked and I had to wait till the last minute to book my hotel room each night (having to do with the project I'm working on and how long it ends up taking), I stayed here two nights. It is really a motel, which I don't like so much -- it is less secure, IMO, than a hotel. That said, both rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was very nice. Parking is free but it's a bit of a hassle, as the lot is very small. Restaurant food was very good. There are also many restaurants within walking distance. The location of this hotel is very noisy--it's on a major road and near tracks for commuter rail. Ask for a room near the middle -- the staff was very accommodating.

    5
    « Clergy Convocation »

This is a very convenient motel. The staff is great breakfast is excellent and it is walking distance to lots of great restaurants and the Long Island railroad. I can't wait for my next visit! Had a super time!

    5
« Good Place to Stay »

This was the second time I stayed here. The rates are great as compared to the others nearby, and the location is another plus. Also, the front desk staff is very helpful. Especially, Linda and Andrew went out of their way to help us with anything we needed.

    5
« The best Western is a great place »

House keeping was so nice and the staff Andrew and Linda was amazing they really make you feel welcomed they really know how to make your stay pleasant my I recommend all who loves NY but hates the rude people stay at the best Western they're really sweet and amazing especially Linda And Andrew they are really caring people and they really make the hotel feel at home I really enjoyed the Best Western I really recommend alot of different people to stay at the hotel because you'll love your stay it's an amazing hotel.

« Wonderful service, dated room. »

The staff were stellar - Linda and Andrew were extremely helpful and attentive. They called cabs for me, recommended restaurants, and always inquired about my stay. The room was clean, but is very dated. Needs a refresh.

    5
« Very pleased to return. Will do it again in 2017. »

Please recognize Linda, the concierge, for her outstanding service, manner and demeanor to all guests, She was attentive to all my needs and special requests, e.g. a rubber bathtub mat. Because of her service last year, I returned this year, 2016, and plan to come in 2017 as well. By the way, my age is 90, so far.

    3
    « Saturday night stay »

I wanted a reasonably priced place to stay that was both comfortable and safe. This Best Western is located right off the highway and within walking distance to several eateries. Their breakfast buffet has the typical offering as motels in this area.

    2
    « Awful »

Nothing more to say. Awful. Unsafe. Rude staff. Poorly maintained. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. Did I say rude staff???????????? I will never stay here again. Time to shut it down. Just got totally blown off by the manager, can't even speak to me. Heavy police presence at check in made it seem very unsafe in the area. Hotel staff not concerned police are on the property. Restaurant is not opened during dinner hours. The first part of this review was written 15 minutes after check in, the rest of this review is from the next day. Rooms are clean, but dated. Common areas, especially the conference rooms, were in need of a deep, deep clean. Staff this morning were much more friendly and helpful. I am upping the review rating a bit, but all of the rudeness and turmoil at checkin still leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

    5
    « Had a blast! »

First of all, this hotel is super convenient. The train is literally in the back yard.....the amount of bars, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance is a big plus. Rooms were clean and spacious. The front desk staff rocked. Especially Andrew and Linda. They made our stay in Rockville Center super easy and hassle free. We were able to relax and enjoy seeing our friends from Ireland without any worries. We would definitely book with this hotel again in the future!

    « Great Place »

This hotel is great. Location and staff are awesome. Linda and Andrew were so helpful with directions and everything that I needed. Rooms are clean. Hotel is a short walk from train station. Plenty of restaurants in town. Will be back when I'm in the area.

« Enhance your New York Experience »

Staying in Manhattan can be pricey but staying at this location will give you a fair price point during your New York experience. You will appreciate this location when you are done with the crowd and noise. Please embrace Long Island by becoming familiar with RVC

« My Home Away From Home »

We always prefer a Best Western Hotel whenever we travel because Best Western makes us feel right at home. It's always convenient to where we need to go as far as shopping is concerned. Like we said, " It's our home away from home."

    « disappointing »

Disappointing stay with too many problems, but overall we stayed because of the town's location and it was too much trouble to move. Also, politeness of staff was the plus. Location by Sunrise Hway so request an inside room. Free breakfast was nice. Ask for better pillows..hope you get them

« Home Away From Home for nearly two weeks... »

Linda, Sree, and the entire BW staff were welcoming, friendly, and sincere. My wife and I had to travel to NY for a major surgery. We stayed for nearly two weeks, and can say that they made us feel right at home for our entire stay. The hotel was clean, affordable, and there were tons of great restaurants nearby. Plus, NYC was very accessible (35 minute train ride). The staff checked in regularly to see if there was any way they could help. This hotel is an excellent option if you will be staying in the area.

    4
    « Good »

The staff were all very friendly & helpful, the location was great for food, shopping and the train. The restaurant was excellent and the rooms were clean. I would recommend this hotel and will be back next time I come to town.

    4
    « Great Value »

Very clean and posh rooms. Looks like a motel from outside. Great service experience. Great value for the money. Parking is extremely tight. Vehicles are likely to get dinged and scratched. I will definitely stay there again if needed.

    3
    « ok »

It was ok for the price & breakfast was ok. Breakfast was the same every day & the muffins were not baked all the way through. But overall it was an ok stay. The noise was a little high & it seemed a little "shady" at night. There was a security guard on duty but did not react right away to a drunk patron who was keeping everyone awake at 3am.

    4
    « comfortable »

The hotel location is very nice and there was a lot of amenities in the area. The hotel was clean I just don't like hotels that you walk of the street into the room. Other than that it was a very nice stay. The breakfast was fresh and appetitising.

    « A pleasurable stay as always! »

I recently stayed at Mill River for the 3rd time, and as always, the treatment I received was what I have come to expect! The front desk staff is friendly and always willing to address any questions you may have. Linda is amazing! She is always happy to see returning guests and greets you with the familiarity of family. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast is top notch! I look forward to returning in the fall when I return my daughter to college!

« Kept Public Health Happy »

We were in town for a family funeral. So strictly speaking it wasn't an easy time emotionally. However, i will say the room was pristine (believe me, my husband, Mr. Public Health dust swabbed every fixture, checked every faucet, and even stuck his head in the mini fridge to check if it had the funny smell- which it didn't). Cleanliness gets 5 stars. There would have been 5 stars in this review if it hadn't been for one thing. Our phone in the room had a dial tone, but none of the buttons worked. So when we tried to call down to get the wifi password there was no way to. We figured no big deal- we'll use our cell phone. there was no answer. then by the 3rd time of calling, the phone was picked up and then immediately hung up. We were kind of Mifted with the lack of customer service there. But hey. the sheets were bleached and clean.

    « WEEKEDN TRIP »

the room was clean and up to date staff was very helpful the breakfast was not that good muffins and biscuits were extremely hard and stale they were old but the overall stay was good unfortunately the trains run behind the hotel but other than that everything else was pleasant

    5
« Will stay here again! »

The staff is very welcoming and loved that Linda remembered us from our trip in August. The location is great, near the train station and excellent restaurants and shopping are within easy walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast is a nice complementary bonus. This hotel is a good place to stay when visiting Molloy and we will be back.

    5
    « pleasant stay »

This hotel was well worth the money paid. It is in an ideal location, clean rooms, good value and pleasant and knowledgeable staff. They are always very willing to assure our comfort. The breakfast that is complimentary is beyond expectations - offering something for everyone without restrictions. We look forward to our return in August.

Nice hotel and staff. Decent location. However, the street noise and the surrounding area made it almost impossible to sleep. If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs, noise machines, and pillows over your head will NOT help!

Mill River Manor is a great place to stay. A great location. Railroad station in Rockville Centre is right next door. Easy connection to NYC. Long Beach is 20 minutes away. Rockville Centre has many good restaurants, bars, and shopping.

I was tasked with getting an employee a room in the area. The Sales Department,Linda locked my employee in with a great rate and no issues. She was very helpful and made sure I had all documentations needed so when the employee went to check- in there wouldn't be issues. I would definitely use this company again. Thank you for all of your help!!

« Nice hotel, comfortable stay »

We had to stay out one night because we were refinishing our floors. We were happy to find this Best Western in Rockville Center. The manager, Andrew, was very accommodating of our needs for a quiet room. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, shower great, fridge new and of good size, microwave, coffee pot stocked with the usual. The pillows could be better but this is the only thing that merits improvement. The breakfast was very good, with waffles, eggs, sausage, fruits, etc. The only thing missing was bagels. This struck us as strange. Bagels are a staple in NY. We find bagels in hotels all the way to the south along the east coast. But overall, plenty to eat. Hotel is located near restaurants. The International Cafe is excellent and only two blocks away. The hotel has its own restaurant, but it wasn't open when we stayed there. Breakfast was in the restaurant. The hotel is also sandwiched between streets, one of which has lots of traffic. But the noise wasn't bad in the third floor, mid courtyard. We had a nice, comfortable night. We wonder if the hotel thought of minimizing traffic noise by enclosing the walkways that wrap around the courtyard.

    « Amazing Customer Service!! »

My room was immaculate and had everything I needed: microwave, fridge, coffee etc. But the best part of my stay was the staff - Especially Linda Olivieri. I didn't know the area at all and she directed me to everything I needed. She was genuinely concerned with all my needs and followed-up with me the next day to make sure there wasn't anything more I needed. I travel for business all the time and have never experienced this amount of attention. I won't stay anywhere else when I visit the Long Island area!

    5
« Best feeling of being home »

I travel to Long Island at least four times each year. I have countless choices of where I can stay, yet each time I come I stay at the Mill River Manor because of the way they welcome me. No matter what my request, Ms. Olivieri makes it happen. If I am arriving late in the day, she makes a reservation for me at the Cala di Mari restaurant located in the hotel. If I am arriving early, she makes arrangement for me to sign in and get my room as soon as I arrive. She is the reason that I will be returning to Mill River on my next visit, and, hopefully many more times after that.

    « Very Clean and Well-Kept Budget Hotel/Motel »

Pros: Cleanliness, well-kept appearance. Just because it's not a 4/5 star hotel doesn't mean that it can't be clean. Cons: Outside entrance... Like a motel, but multi-level. They need to move the coat rack away from the bathroom sink, and re-locate it by the entrance door. It made the bathroom area feel very crowded with clothes there. There is an commuter train rail that runs right next to the hotel. I didn't hear it at night, but my wife did a little. Very good for a 2.5 star hotel/motel. Very clean and well-kept, with some room nice updates. Staff was very polite and professional. The continental breakfast was good, and in a room that is also used as a very nice italian restaurant in the evening, so setting was considerably nicer than your typical 3-star continental breakfast area. Would definitely stay here again. Great value for the facility.

« Great price, awesome staff »

I'm actually from South Jersey but I needed a place for my workers to stay while they worked on a project in New York. They stayed here during the week for a little longer than a month. Since this was an extended stay I ended up working with Linda Olivieri in the sales dept. She was amazing. She gave us a great deal. I had to email her on a daily basis (we booked room day by day since we can't work in rain) and she always responded to me and was a pleasure to speak with. I often book hotels in the tri-state area for work and this has been my best experience so far. My workers said the hotel was clean and they were comfortable throughout their stay. I would definitely book rooms here again.

    4
« I goofed but the staff made things work! »

I reserved and paid for the room in advance and booked it for the wrong weekend ... Imagine my surprise when I checked in and they did not have a room. The desk clerk quickly looked up my information and found the reservation for the following weekend --- instead of turning me away she found a room and honored the prepaid rate --- she did that with grace and friendliness. The location of the hotel is excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathroom appeared to have recently been renovated and functioned well. Breakfast was okay and FREE. This is an great hotel for the cost and amenities.

« Best value: excellent staff »

Very convenient location across from train station. Beds were clean and comfortable. Toaster was broken, so no toast for breakfast. Bathroom floor was dirty. Staff was helpful, considerate, polite. Price was very good, especially for this area.

« Quick stopover but good value »

Very clean. Helpful staff. Andrew was very helpful and accommodating. Good central Long Island location. Nice coffee and LIRR very close. Walkable to train. Not cheap but good comparative value. Would stay again if needed.

« Clean and comfortable for one night »

My sister and I stayed here one night on a business trip because it was located halfway between destinations and seemed easy to get to and affordable. It was a little difficult navigating the area as out of towners, and once we arrived, found that the parking entrance was blocked off due to an event happening that night. It was difficult finding a parking spot in the designated area, but got lucky on the second pass through and went in to register. I had to go back to car to place a parking tag. The room had an exterior entrance, but was clean and comfortable. It is located right next to the LIRR and so had trains passing by and you could hear cars and trucks on the busy road, but it wasn't so bad that it kept us awake. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. My only complaints would be that the WiFi left a lot to be desired and the maid knocked and entered the room before we were checked out...an hour before check out time. I'm glad we were both dressed!

    « Fab for family of 3! »

We booked a room with 2 double beds which suited us really well (our child is 6). Room was clean and we had more than enough space for our huge luggages. We got in really late (close to 1am) but the check in was super smooth. Plus point: Golden Reef Diner (3 blocks away) was still open! There's also a pizza place that stays open until 4am. So if you're getting in late, and need something to eat, this place is super convenient.

    3
    « Very noisy hotel. »

If you like busy street noise, this is the hotel for you. If you are handicap with a wheel chair, it's not for you. The room was too small. The rooms were clean but old smelling. The front desk staff are very friendly. It is in great location of walking to restaurants, boutiques and the train station. The restaurant was fabulous! Not sure why they are attached to this hotel. It would do better standing alone. Did not stay open very late.

    5
« Very Comfortable and pleasent »

Excellent staff, helpful and caring clean, and very convenient. I loved it!! The staff behind the counter called taxies for me to get to meeting on time, to fly back home on time, they advised on places to eat . Every day I come back from meeting to a clean room, they made delicious cookies in the afternoon and delicious coffee and cold water were available in lobby all of the time.

    « Here for Business »

My room was always very clean. The Staff are very friendly. Linda and Andrew are the Best. The Restaurant has great food. Lots of good restaurants, bars and Nightlife within walking distance. I would like to say it is a Great place to stay.

    « Too noisy »

If you want to relax, to read, to watch tv, to sleep without noise, don't stay here. All the other amenities are great, and the price is reasonable, but if I've never been in a noisier hotel. Too bad, because it was close to where I needed to be the next day.

    « Excellent »

The management staff (Linda) excelled in customer service and arrangements. Hotel was clean and breakfast was better than the usual continental. Will definitely use them again on a return trip. There were so many amenities close by it was well worth the cost.

    « nice place »

Nothing special, but nice, clean and comfortable. Good location. Rooms are outside rooms, this does not show on the website. Free breakfast is usual fare, self serve, but certainly adequate. Bar/lounge is comfy with reasonable pricing. Hotel staff is polite and professional.

    « Feels like Home »

Best Western Mill River Manor is not the Omni and to be honest, when you stay there... you realize that the OMNI is not as good as them. They are caring, kind and they offer a good breakfast. Its clean and close to several restaurants. They also are close to the railroad which makes getting into Manhattan less than 35 minutes.

    « Excellent Area / Amazing Staff »

The location of this Hotel is Perfect. You can walk to anything you desire. With the Train Station directly behind the Hotel, you can access everything else. I stayed there for extended periods over a span of 8 months. The amazing staff made me feel like it was a home away from home. Always Clean and Comfortable! The Hotel is centered amidst a handful of 5 star Restaurants and also plenty of Irish Pubs. I was here for work and it was great to get out at night and explore what the town had to offer.

    5
    « Family Visit »

the Hotel was conveniently located for my purposes, Rockville Centre is a lovely community with easy walks to restaurants etc. It is located adjacent to the Long Island RR which was very convenient for transportation into the city but a bit noisy in the evening. Was not a disturbance during the night. Staff was very pleasant,. Not one of the better breakfasts that I have had in Best Western and other chains.

    3
« The Staff gets 5 stars, Hotel is okay »

The staff at Best Western Mill River Manor was amazing....... Linda and the front desk staff were great. The hotel has outdoor hallways which was a bit tough when going to visit friends in other rooms with the cold weather, and also I had to close the curtains tight since anyone walking past could look into the room. The hotel itself just seemed a bit dated to me. The ice machines were not working on both the 2nd and 4th floors, however the LL machine worked. The rooms have the built in window heating/cooling units, however it was a bit loud and difficult to find a comfortable temperature. The room was clean which is a plus and the location was great. Overall not a bad hotel, just not what I was expecting for the location.

    « Average »

Apparently renovated but did not go far enough, rooms are not up to standard yet and look already old. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean Parking is free but can be a bit difficult to find a spot and had to park pretty much at the end of the lot if arrived after 11pm Wifi was free but slow - very very slow!! Breakfast was included but limited and uninviting There are better hotels in the area!

    « Winter vacation. »

This hotel is centrally located near main roads, LIRR, shopping/pharmacy, bars/restaurants and banking. The reception personnel were wonderful in greeting and advising where to find locations in the neighborhood. I stayed there for 5 nights and it was a wonderful experience. In season, there is an outdoor swimming pool. The on site bar/restaurant was great {try the eggplant parmigiana).Prices are reasonable: highly recommended..

« Awesome Customer Service Linda & Andrew & the whole service associates also. »

When I needed information on where and the times of the train stations or a good restaurant, they were spot on with good solid advice. If I needed any extra's (Towels etc.) they made sure I received as soon as possible. Great Expeience

    « Not the best »

We were here for a work event. The event staff was not very helpful. The ballroom is a bit dingy. The access to the ballroom sucks. You either have to carry your equipment up the stairs or take an elevator far from the ballroom. If you have people attending your events, the hotel does not provide any parking and will in fact tow your attendees. And the front desk staff was not friendly by any means.

    3
    « Average »

Run of the mill stay. Room was clean. Towels were scratchy. Temperature was between igloo and furnace. Refrigerator didn't quite work properly. Stayed the same night as a younger group which knew one another and were loud throughout the night. There are groceries across the street. It's near bars and transportation. This hotel was unspectacular, good or bad.

« Favorite place to stay »

I have been coming to Rockville centre once a month for the past year. I stay at the Bestwestern where the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff is courteous and very helpful. It's in a perfect location near the LIRR. There are many restaurants and things to do here. The LIRR makes it perfect for traveling into Manhattan to see a show. I have eaten at a different restaurant on each visit. A real gem that the hotel has is Linda who is the tripadvisor rep. She has been very helpful on several occasions. recommending places to eat and helping with transportation to the airport for those in need. Andrew also has been helpful and they both are ready with a smile to greet you. You know that your satisfaction is of utmost importance.

    « Great Value »

This hotel is older, but has been renovated and has nice room decor and a comfortable bed. Other than the towels, everything was good quality. It is unusual in that it's more like a motel with outside doors, but the lobby/restaurant/breakfast area is like a much nicer style hotel. The breakfast was very good, including scrambled eggs and bacon, and a waffle machine. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance.

    4
    « Good Choice »

This hotel is a good choice for travelers. The rooms are nice and mine had a microwave and fridge. Lots of places to eat with walking distance. Breakfast is above average for a hotel in this class. It is located next to the train station so if you have issues with noise I would ask for a room away from that side. I did not find it a problem.

« Birthday Celebration in Rockville Centre! »

We celebrated my birthday by having dinner, watching games and hanging out in Rockville Centre. The Best Western is walking distance to all the places in Rockville Centre, and affordable. The accommodations were clean and nice. Well worth the money! We woke up to Blizzard Jonas, but the men who were clearing the hotel parking lot and walkways were kind enough to help us get out safely. We will certainly return again in the future!

« great professional and courteous service. »

The staff was very professional and courteous. I especially want to commend Andrew, Linda, Maria, Justina and all of the front desk staff. They were wonderful to work with. The maintenance staff did an excellent job removing the snow from the parking lot and walkways over the weekend. My room was comfortable, clean and near the elevator.

« Great value, and free breakfast »

Very good sized rooms and a wonderful free, hot breakfast. There is free parking and it is walking distance to the train station to the city (the Long Island Rail Road), walking distance to the Cathedral, and a short drive to Molloy College.

    « Good Value & Convenient location »

This Best Western is very near the Long Island Railroad (very convenient to get to Manhattan) and near several Restaurants & Diners on the Avenue. Italian Restaurant in Hotel only open on week-ends. Unfortunately we had problems with the heating unit the last day when the temperature dropped in NY.Though Hotel provided extra blankets, sadly they were not wool, too thin cotton for my comfort. However, Service was impeccable by all the Staff. Special notice to LINDA who tracked down House Keeping, found our own wool blankets left behind at check-out, got them the next day.

I called in a hurry and was booked by Linda in a hurry as well. She has very good people skills and greeted us like we've been coming here for years ?? however the other Lady Maria who works behind the desk in the morning Needs A lot of improvement Very Dry DID NOT WELCOME US didn't even ask if we needed help . LINDA IS THE BEST ??. Thanks for an excellent Stay There

« Convenient location, comfortable beds »

This Best Western is right on the Sunrise Highway and just a few miles from the Southern State Parkway, so the location was very convenient and the price was reasonable. The bed was very comfortable. The one negative is that to get to the lobby and restaurant for the free breakfast, you have to walk outside, so bundle up for your walk to breakfast in the winter.

    « Dissappointing Experience »

I live in Florida and I'm originally from East Rockaway. I've been coming to this hotel off and on for 20 years. This time around it was unacceptable accommodations. First night the heater in the room wouldn't cycle off. My wife had to open the door at 4am so we could get all the heat out of the room. At night the walls are paper thin, you can hear the people next store on both sides. The maid didn't replenish the tissues and coffee from the room And most of all the shower was a joke. You would have hot water barely coming out then like a fire hydrant, that my wife burnt her hand it was scalding hot. Then it would go to cold water then back to hot and you didn't know when it was coming. To top it off I told the front desk and the women was nice until she brought the manager out. He said he would have to investigate before he would take my word for it. And then he would call me on my cell, which he never did all day. I wasn't looking for anything from the hotel just good service an a pleasant stay. I will never go back to this place again. Which I loved and it was convenient to see family/City etc. I'm going to tell everyone I know about this, don't want them to suffer what we went through.

    « Like visiting a close friend »

I walked in cold, with no reservation and Linda and Andrew greeted me with warm sincere kindness and smiles. I stayed one night and left the next morning with absolutely no issues and was sent off with the same smiles that I was greeted with.

« Ask for Andrew or linda »

Easily the best staff I have ever encountered but Andrew and Linda went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We were In for the holidays and needed a place close by my parents to stay. We found this hotel which was an absolute gem. The rooms were very comfy and the breakfast was nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone. I will definitely be coming back.

    « December 2015 Stay »

too noisy, police had to be called lost several days of sleep, not a very quite or safe area. I would try again if I could be guaranteed some improvements in security. Food was very good but expensive at restaurant. Waited for days to see suite for next year, was not told it was unavailable until the last day of our stay.

    2
« Should have stayed somewhere else. »

On the plus side, the heating/air conditioning worked well. There was easy hot water from the faucets, and the shower was excellent, even if the towels were as coarse as sandpaper. The TV worked well, with an adequate choice of programming. This was, however, my first experience in having to access my room from the outside. That meant having to wear warm outer clothes just to get to the lobby and dining area. Since the hotel is adjacent to the Long Island Railroad, guests will have to accept the noise that comes with passing commuter trains. The breakfast buffet was easily the worst that I have ever been to. From the sparseness of offerings to the hard mini muffins, it desperately needs improvement. The utensils were of the flimsiest plastic, that rendered them close to unusable. There is free parking, and you will find that the reception staff is very welcoming and interested in your how your stay is progressing. The hotel very much needs to stop doing everything "on the cheap". Slight upgrades in amenities could make for a far more pleasant experience.

    5
    « Excellent!! »

Excellent!! Linda & her staff need to be recognized for both excellence & friendliness. The room was a little small for 2 people but we did great!! The room was clean & the bed very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was varied, delicious & food quality was excellent!!

« Excellent Hotel and Service »

This Best Western is a good overall value. The rooms are spacious with free wifi as well as a pretty good fitness center. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and informative. Although my stay here is for business, I think it would be good hotel as well for pleasure. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if traveling to the southwest corner of Nassau County, Long Island.

« Convenient Access to Special Event and Good Restaurants »

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Mill River Manor for two nights in early December 2015. We attended a wedding ceremony and reception and did not want to have to travel from Brooklyn to Long Island for the festivities. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. I called to request a higher floor which was not close to the elevator. My request was accommodated. Yet and still the hotel is actually a motel in that your room opens to the external world not an internal hallway. The noise from other guests walking along the area outside our door and the LOUD rolling housekeeping cart were ever present. However not enough to state that our stay was problematic. While the parking area was quite tight, we were able to park safely on the premises. Great restaurants, a 24 hour CVS and grocery store were in close proximity. There was a mini-fridge and microwave oven in the room. In addition the hotel is about 3 blocks from the Long Island Railroad. All in all the m/hotel is sufficient, clean and accommodating.

    4
    « Great Location »

Overall a nice hotel. Room was updated and very clean. Bed was okay, but did not have a pillow top mattress. Still was very comfortable and I slept good. This hotel is right next to the LIRR (train). But with the fan on you couldn't here it.

    « Give Rockville Centre A Try »

This location and facility will not let you down when it comes to price point, staff and convenience. You are within a short train ride away from Penn Station and the safety of parking included. I have been staying here for over 6 years now and wouldn't change this location for any Manhattan facility. You have the best of two worlds here....the busy streets of NYC and coming back to the small town flavor of Rockville Centre and their fine eaters.

    5
    « Great Stay! »

Both the hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly, accommodating and professional. The room was comfortable, the bed was unbelievable and I slept like a baby. The continental breakfast was more than just cold muffins and coffee, and the business center was convenient, quiet and secure. Totally enjoyed my stay and couldn't have made a better choice. Special thanks to Linda at the front desk and Justina in the restaurant.

    3
    « Just fine :/ »

It was fine. Nothing great. And nothing bad. But expect more for the price. The body wash and conditioner look refilled :p or old. Check your self . I think I could plan better my trip and find a better deal or just skip staying in this hotel..... :p

« DO NOT STAY HERE!! »

Do not stay at this hotel. This is more of a crack house motel. I was there for one night due to home renovations. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for a few days, it was nice but too expensive. Upon arrival there was no place to park . As I went to the elevator I saw a man leaving with a drugged up prostitute. I was with my son. The rooms are old and smell of stale cigarettes and mold. I slept in my clothes and used my pajamas to cover the pillow. The shower had mold on the ceiling. You may pay more but I suggest staying at the Holiday Inn Express or the Hampton Inn Suites. Big difference. This place is not for a family or decent people .

« Thanksgiving weekend busy time »

We booked a week before arrival in RVC from Maui. Since we flew in at daybreak after 10 hours in the air, we were anxious to get into our room to shower and sleep. Linda at the Front Desk was very helpful - she found a room in short order, even though she was very busy with check-outs. She even found a room away from Sunrise Highway so we could sleep without noise. Bravo, Linda - you made the difference between us being grumpy travelers and happy ones!

« Parking was very difficult and the area was very noisy! »

When visiting family and friends in the area, me and my family stayed at the Best Western and were not satisfied with the room, parking or area. It was a very noisy location. They had a lot of special events over there and it was therefore, very hard to park. The breakfast was average, nothing that special and we were not that comfortable in the room.

    4
« Always a good bet in RVC »

We always stay at this Best Western when we are in Rockville Centre area. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. Breakfast is a good option if you want to eat at the hotel. This hotel is really convenient to everything RVC has to offer. The train is just a few steps away and the restaurants and pubs are plentiful.

« The best hotel in the island »

The friendliest staff and cleanest rooms. Nothing isn't thought of to make your stay a pleasant one. All the amenities of the high end hotels at extremely reasonable rates. You get more than what you pay for!! Very rare nowadays. Great restaurants and shops within walking distance, as well as mass transportation into the rest of New York. Linda will make sure that all you need is taken care of.

« Nice hotel but unfortunate stay »

Room location was poor & noisy though booked well in advance. Did not receive room service on one day and had to go find fresh towels. breakfast was below par from prvious visits. Parking on Saturday night was unavailable. I had to park under a nearby train station with NO security.

    « Bare Bones Accommodations »

All hotel rooms open to outside - no interior hallways. It is right next to train line that runs all night. Rooms vibrate as it goes by. Beds & pillows uncomfortable. Rooms are clean & very basic. For the price in this area it's a bargain but not a place I'd look forward to staying again.

    4
    « Fantastic, helpful staff »

The helpful staff, including Linda and Haley, was excellent. That put this hotel over the top in my opinion. The hotel room itself was rather small, but quite nice. The hotel location was great, with several good restaurants and other businesses within close walking distance. A Long Island Railroad station is right next door. It is very accessible by car to many attractions in the area. The complimentary breakfast was also very good. An extremely friendly environment.

« We were in town for a funeral. »

The customer service was the best! We were already pretty stressed due to the funeral we were in town to attend, and then had some logistical issues with our arrival. We arrived after 1am and the over night desk clerk, Josh, was more than accommodating and super helpful. Linda, who I had made the reservation through, remembered me and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay went smoothly.

« Linda & Dianne Made our stay great »

We needed a place to stay while our house was under construction. We are locals and just needed a place to stay for a few weeks. Linda and Dianne have great personalities and they were so helpful during our very rough time. They always went out of their way to accommodate us and make sure our stay was good. The hotel is clean, and right in the middle of town, great location to public transportation and great restaurants.

« Illegally charged for something I did NOT take »

My advice would be NEVER to stay here but if you have no other option - take the time to bring the manager to the room to complete inventory at check in and again check out and have them sign something stating that all items are accounted for. I was arbitrarily charged $100 for something I did NOT take. I was also told originally that the August charge was for prepayment of later stay b booked for Oct because it was a special rate ($99/night for homecoming at local college) Then, when I was charged at checkout a second time for same night, I called and they changed their story. This time told me that original charge was for stealing a pillow during August stay, based on housekeeping report. (all I can think of is she didn't like the amount of gratuity left or wanted the pillow herself) If I needed a pillow I would go to Target and spend far less than $100. I called the hotel twice to get this corrected but they refused to reverse the charge. As I said, my credit card company is disputing the charges and called the the hotel to point out that this charge is 1) illegal, given that they have no evidence and 2) defies common sense - why would I return to same place if I had done something like that? BUT we should not have to fight this so I am warning everyone here to STAY AWAY

    « New York trip »

What a wonderful stay we had for 6 nights at the Best Western Mill river Manor Rockville Centre last week, it was made extra special with the help we received from Linda, who solved any query we had regarding things to do or places to visit. We will be back again for any future trips to NYC

The Management and customer service was superb. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I only had one issue with the room. The bathroom smells of mildew really bad. I am not sure if it was the shower curtains or something in the walls, but it was very strong. We did bring this to their attn. and they were very concerned and proactive.

Rockville Centre is a nice, safe town with plenty of places to eat and drink. This hotel has a great staff. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were a bit dark and need some updating. It is close to the railroad which we did NOT hear at night. It is conveniently located for walking to most places.

    « Fantastic stay »

From the staff to the hotel ammenities - they are superior and made our stay great. Linda went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. You cannot loose if you stay at this hotel. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. The location is right in the middle of Rockville Centre and a block away from the LIRR for an easy trip into Manhattan. Can't beat it.

« Luxury of two cities »

Staying at this location affords an excellent price point, highest level of safety and easy access on the LIRR directly behind the hotel. There isn't any added costs for parking your car right outside your room and when you have exhausted the sights of Manhattan, you have yet another town to visit at Rockville Centre. I have been staying here since 2008, and I won't change my future traveling plans to another facility. Please take the time to visit and you won't regret yours plans.

    « A hotel with great service »

I tend to stay at Best Westerns whenever I travel. They are always clean, reliable, comfortable and not too expensive. So when I received an invitation to attend the 50th reunion of my high school class in Rockville Centre, New York, I decided to stay at the Best Western in the town, firstly because it was a Best Western, secondly, this was where the reunion was being held and thirdly, although I grew up in the town, I had not been back in over 40 years, I was not disappointed. I flew from my home in Europe for the occasion and the location was perfect - next to the rail station so I could get into NY city as well as out further on Long Island to visit friends and family. My room was comfortable with a microwave and coffee-maker in the room, and complementary toiletries. When I had difficulty making a long distance phone call to my partner in Europe, one of the staff loaned me his cell phone to skype. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly. There is a nice Italian restaurant attached to the hotel which is convenient, but I spent most of my time revisiting restaurants from my childhood (those that were still there!!). I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I return to Rockville Centre. It was a safe and home-like place for a woman travelling on her own.

« Good stay convenient location »

I was part of a group of 6 visiting friends who live in the area. The hotel was very central to stores/bars/restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel had a wedding going on during our stay, which we thought might become noisy/busy, but we never heard a thing. We had a very pleasant stay.

    « Convenience/Comfort/Cleanliness »

My brother & I stayed here on 3 separate occasions (we were in process of selling our parents' home 45 min away). He has mobility issues, so ground floor unit steps from side parking was convenient. Complimentary hot/cold breakfast (wide choice/very good), outdoor pool/patio chairs-tables-umbrellas, and most everything walking distance: 20+ restaurants/pubs, drug store, LIRR, supermarket, liquor store, Two recommended eateries with parking: Greek Town for lunch (place was packed when we were there); Frank's Steakhouse for lunch value/great food & MadMen retro ambience with red tufted leather booths). Back to hotel, my only observation seemed to be that some ground floor units held transient, long-term guests that I remembered from our previous 3 stays?

    « Disappointing and noisy. »

I spent one night here recently and the only positive I can find is the staff. The hotel is land-locked between the railroad and a 6 lane freeway. Therefore the only slightly quieter rooms are located within the middle of the hotel. Security appears non-existent as you can access all hotels rooms direct from the freeway without passing reception. On the night I stayed I was treated to a 2am "Police, open up" a few doors along from my room. There then followed 1hr of drunken men and aloud woman intent on awaking everyone nearby. This ultimately finished with broken bottles in the passageway.......and at no time did I see security intervene. Breakfast was plastic cutlery and minimal. Sorry.

« Long Island Parrot Society's Annual EXPO--Block of Rooms »

I've been working with Director of Sales, Haley Rice, for the past number of years setting up a block of rooms for our annual EXPO each October. Haley is so accommodating and she's a pleasure to work with. She's definitely my go-to person at the Best Western. Haley is very quick to return an email and I look forward to working with her each year. In fact, she usually reaches out to me in March to see if we need a block of rooms for October--she's that good!
