We stayed here overnight when in town for a funeral/memorial service. The first thing I have to say is how friendly, welcoming and helpful all the staff was to us. From the front desk to the maintenance guy who rode in the elevator with us to the ladies with the cleaning cart - they all greeted us with genuine warmth and smiles. The hotel building is older but they have done everything they could to bring updates to the property with freshened bedding, art work, nice toiletries, etc. We had two rooms. One was a queen and the other had two double beds. The queen room was small, with the bathroom sink out in the living space. The bathroom was clean, had a standard tub with shower. The bed was super comfortable. The TV was huge and had lots of channels. We appreciated the sanitized remote! The heat/ac worked well. We could definitely hear the conversation going on in the room next to us. :) The double room seemed a little less upgraded, there was some work done in the bathroom on the ceiling, maybe from a water leak and it didn't look like it had been refinished after the work was done. Again, you could easily hear conversations from the next room. Obviously this is an older property and I don't think there is anything that can be done about that. The wifi worked great, no issues. There is a restaurant on the property that provides room service but we didn't need it. The hotel offers free breakfast but we left before it opened so can't comment. There are several restaurants, fast food and a 7/11 within walking distance. It was kind of hard to find the hotel. The direction we came, we passed the hotel, then took a left turn and couldn't see any place to park. I think you may be able to drive down a very small but unnoticeable driveway at the front of the hotel to check in but it seemed super tight to me. Luckily someone else in our party had arrived before us and saw us idling out front and gave us the heads up that hotel parking access was on a side street and at the back of the hotel. The parking is pretty tight but well lit at night time. One more note, to start the shower, PULL on the knob. :-) All in all, we were very happy with the quick over night stay and certainly appreciated the happy friendly staff.

"This is a sleeper"

Older but clean and well maintain reasonable property. This hotel also excels at finding and retaining high quality staff. Having the same high quality staff for years says something about the quality/culture of the management- and staff- and definitely benefits the customers.

"Nice stay"

At first we had an issue with our room and Best Western (specifically the receptionist from saturday 9/29 around 1pm) had helped us out and was super kind. The rooms were very clean and the pictures do not do the rooms justice. overall i would return.

"Outdated Hotel, but very clean with very comfortable firm beds and good breakfast."

Hotel is old and outdated, but very clean with very comfortable firm beds and a very large flat screen television. Beds seem to be recent additions and I slept well on it. The TV Is somewhat larger than the average TV in a hotel room and looked new. The only bad part of the hotel room was the sink being in the room and not in the bathroom where it was suppose to be. Water pressure and the hot water was perfect. Breakfast was good, but could have been better. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would use them again.

I found this BW to be a great value hotel for New York. Conveniently located in Bayside. The room was updated, clean and the bed was comfy. The customer service received was very pleasant. I will stay again. + Free wifi, free parking, fridge in the room, good AC, clean. - the lift is too slow

We stayed here because our usual hotel was booked. The lobby was modern and we were greeted right away. The parking was tight but convenient. The rooms were average but the air conditioning was working poorly and made for poor sleeping. Overall it was an average stay

Great location. Excellent staff. Breakfast the basics. Had a problem with the air conditioner in our room. Called the front desk they sent up the engineer who worked on the unit twice. Fine after that.

Stayed here for daughters graduation 5 nights, sister and brother in also stayed at BW Gold Coast. Have to say this hotel is very average to below average , although the photos make it appear much nicer and modern than it really is. Both our rooms had: Noisy rattling A/C units, carpets quite old and not recently vacuumed, very dated bathrooms, leaking or intermittently functioning water fixtures, final straw, total building hot water failure 2nd to last morning before checking out. Staff was generally friendly, and complimentary breakfast was adequate. Would not stay there again, or recommend to family or friends.

"Quirky hotel, but a great value"

Our second stay here, and we were very pleased. Be aware -- it's quirky: in at least some of the rooms, the sole sink is OUTSIDE the bathroom, which is itself very small this seems to have been a necessity of room renovation. There is only one elevator in the building, so it gets busy at check-out time, and there seems to be only one staircase with direct access to the ground floor, so if limited hotel exits make you nervous, this may not be the place for you. But the small rooms are very comfortable, including the bedding. There is a small fitness room. The breakfast is good, with an egg-white option, pus actual quality greek yogurt; above average for its kind. and it has FREE parking. In all, if you roll with the quirks, it's probably the best value in queens, and we ourselves are very grateful for it.. Note: there's reportedly a long island railroad stop a 14-minute walk away; this is a relatively expensive way of getting into manhattan. Apparently no nearby subways. Otherwise just buses; not the most convenient location compared to hotels near subway stations. ... If you are used to modern suburban motels of the Fairfield or Holiday Inn type, this may not be your cup of tea.

While the location is good, and it does offer free parking, we found the room outdated and the bathroom was very small. We were unable to get any water warmer than lukewarm in the shower in the morning. The curtains on the window were stained and the carpeting was pretty dingy.

Breakfast was great, fitness room, although small, was workable, room was small but clean and comfortable, staff was very customer-service oriented. I enjoyed the breakfast waffles and two types of eggs-scrambled regular and scrambled egg-whites.

This hotel is nice. Rooms are beautiful. Fitness center small but sufficient. Overall the hotel is nice, great breakfast just need more parking. On night parking at hotel another hotel. Not convienent when arriving back in evening.

I stayed in this hotel with my family while visiting NY. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. There is a nice restaurant/lounge attached to the hotel. Convenient location, I would stay here again.

"Nice hotel with helpful staff"

The friendliness of the staff made up for the few issues: there seemed to be a problem with overheating the night I was there, which was simply alleviated by opening the window, and my room had a connector door which meant I could hear my noisy neighbors (although that's not the staff fault). The receptionist lent me her iPhone charger as mine was not working. how is that for great customer service! The room was well appointed and even had a jacuzzi hot tub bath, which was an unexpected boon. Free WiFi, and comfortable King size bed made the stay pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was good, although, to be honest, I didn't need much after dinner at Marbella's! Note: The parking garage entrance is to the right of the hotel, and then turn again into a tight entrance way.

The hotel was clean and relatively roomy considering the size of other NY hotel rooms that we have stayed in. Breakfast was great ...waffles, eggs. bacon,potato tots, hot oatmeal plus various breads and danishes. Chris and Nicola at the front desk were wonderful!

"Good for the price and location!"

My family and I stayed here for a brief visit to Queens. The front desk receptionist Jessica was extremely kind and helpful to us, even going out of her way to help call 10 different pizza places to see what was open on Christmas day (we were craving NY pizza). She made us feel welcomed! Free breakfast was provided and it was good: eggs, sausage, and other standard breakfast items. The room was fine, beds were comfortable, but I do wish they provided slippers. The water in the shower also switched back and forth from warm to cold even though I turned it all the way towards hot. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would return.

Everything was good and as accepted. A good value. Clean and efficient. I will continue to stay with Best Western's. Big improvements over the last couple of years. Staff could use some brushing up on going a little beyond the minimum.

Rooms excellent bed, WIFI, TV service every channel and more. Breakfast one of the best, coffee a treat, free parking, Q12 bus and LIRR make it easy to get in to the city. Excellent bar/ restaurant in the building.

This is a basic hotel but the services provided set it above the rest! Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice rooms with big TV. Public transportation at the front door. Hot showers, plenty of free parking. No resorts fees. This is one of the better Best Western I have stayed at.

I always stay at the Best Western in Bayside. It is the best one in the area for the price, quality and value. Very clean. Heating and air conditioning is quiet. Nice photography around hotel. Bayside is a lovely area.

Was overall a good stay. Mattresses could be a little softer but nice rooms. The walls are paper thin and everything the next room and across the hall is doing can be heard clearly. The breakfast was good and staff reasonably friendly. New Yorkers aren't as outgoing as southerners (from my experience there) so my perspective might be Bias.

"A good and reasonably priced hotel in Bayside, NY"

This was our third visit this year to this hotel. We had asked for room 207 after placing our reservation and a telephone call, and we received it. Upon arrival and on entering the shower we noticed that the shower ball regulating the water temperature was broken. The maintenance man arrived after a short time interval and replaced the defective part. A special mention of Ann in the breakfast room. She always asked how everything was and replaced eaten food immediately. Room cleanliness was good and towels, bottled water and toiletry amenities were replaced each day. There is only one elevator but waiting times were relatively short. The parking is adequate except upon week-ends when we had to park on the street. There is street parking a short block away so this was no problem. Since there is a restaurant on the street level, I assume the restaurant guests also use the hotel parking in the back in the evenings. There is also a clean and large laundromat a few minutes away and this was very convenient during our 12 night stay. At checkout, there was a rate discrepancy which the desk agent could not resolve. Since we had an early morning flight from La Guardia Airport to Canada we could not wait for the supervisor, Jessica to arrive. We had asked to have her call us in Canada to straighten this out. When unable to reach us by phone she advised us that the rate was adjusted to our satisfaction via her e-mail. A very nice touch and thank you Jessica. We will have no problems in re-booking this hotel if need be in the future and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

"Great hotel for the price"

Stayed for 7 nights. The hotel itself is old but its well taken care of. The parking is small but its free and in NYC its a blessing to even have parking. Just know that if theres an event in the hotel, theres a chance you may not find parking for a little while. The breakfast is great. Eggs, sausage, potatoes (a little dry but ok), toast, bagels, yougurts, fruits, waffles (will all the toppings avail), coffee machine w/ hot chocolate options, french vanilla, hazelnut creamers and even whipped cream (at waffle station). I was able to make my own cappuchinos every morning. I'd stay there again w/o a question.

This hotel happens to be a very nice place to stay the breakfast is to die for the rooms are very clean close to Bell Blvd which is very lively place for the younger crowd 21 n over bus stops right in front of hotel if you don't have a car n right off the cross island parkway

The staff was excellent. Could not close bathroom door, felt like you were in a box if you did. The roller bed mattress, was nothing but springs. Hallway & elevator gloomy Looked gloomy and dirty. Parking was terrible.

Easy access to and from the hotel from Cross Island Pkwy. Very clean and comfortable room, nice breakfast, pleasant staff, onsite free parking, and affordable price. Great location wherever your destination is throughout NYC.. I would stay at this location whether traveling for business or pleasure because of my prior statements. Further, there are many restaurants and shopping opportunities in the vicinity.

We were in the area for a wedding and they had a block of rooms at this hotel. Booking was a little difficult as they couldn't find the block of rooms, but the manager upgraded my room because of the trouble we had. The staff is helpful and the breakfast was good. The rooms are small but comfortable. Very small bathrooms.

We wanted time away from the big city but a convenient location to get to the city. Perfect place with the bus stop right outside our door. Get on the bus, it takes you to the subway and then you're there right in the middle of Manhattan!

Rooms were a bit narrow, but very nice, maid service was good, breakfast was fine. Would definitely stay there again. Location was excellent. Parking garage was somewhat narrow, but otherwise very convenient, handicap parking was very easy to access and steps from the elevator. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing handicap parking.

DON'T STAY HERE! My family had no choice but to put up with this HORRIBLE HOTEL! The elevator took too long, too old, & was just horrible! The water in the tub didn't drain. The sink is separated from the bathroom. The beds were smelly and dusty. The lamps, TV, drawers, desk, night stand, and just everything in the room were SO DUSTY! The floors were SO YUCKY AND DIRTY before we got in. The cleaning ladies didn't speak English so asking for extra towels or to change our sheets took me a good 15 minutes of hand gestures and all they could say was "OKAY OKAY" but they just stood there and stared. Their beds were so high that I feared for my little boy, so I had to use all the pillows to protect him from falling off. The front desk guy was hardly around when I needed help. The walls are so thin that I could make out the conversations happening next door. Their breakfast was scrambled eggs and CORN BEEF HASH (CANNED)!!! GROSS!!!! This is by far the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. Please don't waste your money on this. The Inn at Great Neck was where I was suppose to go to, but my sister needed that reservation for her wedding so I gave it to her and oh man that hotel was HUGE and super nice. The Inn at Great Neck looked like my old apartment, it's that huge for just a hotel suite. Don't waste good money on this TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!

We are sorry that the housekeeping team didn't meet your expectations. It is true that many of our team members do not speak English as a first language. We will work on better familiarization of certain words, however we have a great deal of pride in there work and overall they take great care to leave every room spotless and ready for the next guest. Even without perfect English, they are friendly to all. We inspect every room after housekeeping is done to assure that it meets our high quality standard. We would like to assure you that our beds are standard height. We have not had any complaints regarding this issue from other guests. We would like to make you aware that we have cribs to offer our guests with children, should they be in need. A quick call to the front desk would have remedied the situation. Please also know we offer our guests a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet with a variety of hot and cold choices. If there is anything you did not see you may always speak with our breakfast staff to see if they can accommodate any requests. Our main goal is to keep our guests happy. Clean and comfortable, public bus to NYC or Long Island just outside, easy parking, good neighborhood. LIRR about a 20 minute walk. Bike.walking path alongside Cross Island Parkway is just 2 blocks away.

Our wedding party, family and friends stayed at the Best Western in Queens for my daughter's wedding at the Farm Museum nearby. Love this location, close to every freeway. Room was truly comfortable. Breakfast was great as well. Cleaning service everyday as well. Staff was extremly helpful as well. I will be staying here all the time.

We were invited to a Wedding in NY, two hotels to choose from, we got the Best Western, I travel a lot and I try to accommodate to anything, but I was not impress at all with this hotel. It is supposed to be recently renovated, honestly I don't know where. The room service was poor, only one bottled of water and coffee supplies the first day,sheets were not change, the elevator was not working on Saturday, a/c was not working properly.

We are a recently renovated hotel with wonderful amenities for our guests to take advantage of. We do provide each of our guests with one bottle of complimentary water daily. We apologize that the coffee was not replenished. A quick call to the front desk would have sent someone up with more coffee to start your day. The sheets in each room are changed when each guest checks out, unless there is a specific request to have that done. Each morning our wonderful housekeeping staff tends to each room, makes the bed and make things presentable when our guests return. There is nothing like a freshly made bed when your exhausted from a busy day. We are confused to hear that the elevator was not working during your stay, as we had a busy weekend with other guests utilizing it without issue. We did go back and check your air conditioning unit to see that it was working properly. It was set to a standard low of 68, which is normal. If there are ever any issues during a guest's stay we always encourage our guests to reach out to our front desk staff and let them know that they are unhappy. We are more than happy to see if we can remedy the situation if we can or find an alternative if there is one. We try to create a home away from home experience for each of our guests. Convenient place to stay to St. John's University by bus, Lyft, or Uber. Clean room, comfortable beds, microwaves and refrigerators included. Decent breakfast offered with great hours. Bathroom was a little small but it was clean and durable.

"likes and dislikes"

I'll start with the likes as the list is shorter: Staff - every single one that we interacted with were very pleasant (they are why the rating is a 3 instead of a 2), friendly and helpful; location - within 15 minute walk of LIRR train to Citi Field where we attended the Classic East concert; price - relatively speaking; and it's quiet. Dislikes: elevator - utterly terrifying; AC - only goes as low as 68...we like it cooler at night for sleeping; shower - although the pressure was good and consistent, the temperature wasn't, going from normal to nearly scalding hot to cool and back to normal in seconds. This happened many times over the course of the shower; bed - slightly uncomfortable and seemed small for a queen (as is advertised); parking - very tight and small lot, had to park on the street the first night...guess I should be happy there was any parking given the proximity to NYC (Manhattan). Did not partake of the breakfast, but appeared to be typical hotel fare. If I was in the area again, probably would stay only because of limited options.

The hotel was in walking distance of so many different places. Very good location, room very nice, & comfortable. Breakfast was provided for free which was great. You could also access the parking (which was also free) as much as needed!

"Perfect location for attending THE CLASSIC"

We chose this hotel based on it's proximity to Citi Field and THE CLASSIC concert that was held there. The LIRR train is a short walk thru a charming neighborhood filled with all types of "non" chain restaurants, bakeries (one of the best in the region from what we understand), fast food, drug stores, and coffee shops. We were on the street at all hours of the day/night - felt comfortable walking at all times.

This is a typical best western. Rather run down and low quality towels, carpet, bedding. They try hard with customer service. The check in person was nice and even called to see if everything was satisfactory. That's about all you can say about this place...satisfactory.

Old motel but clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful. Parking garage was hard to negotiate with all but small vehicles. I was working in the Bronx and Port Washing and this motel is central to both so location was satisfactory to work locations. Staff really tried the best they could with what they had to work with.

Staff were very responsive, room clean and quiet. Nice to have Keurig coffeemaker in room. Breakfast was good with several options. Bathroom was extremely small but clean. Good choice for family visit.

We always stay at this BW due to the location. It is in a very central location of our family and friends we visit up in Queens, LI, NY. Also, the buffet breakfast, (we do the room rate that includes it) is very good variety of eggs, waffles, bagels, juices and more. And the coffee machine is WONDERFUL! There are many choices of Coffee it's great. It makes it so convenient to not need to be running around the town of Bayside to find a place for breakfast. For the price it is worth every penny. Ann works the breakfast buffet during the week and is so welcoming and friendly that is another reason we come back here.

"Nice Place AC was broken"

Our stay would have been great except for the fact the AC did not work and it was the middle of the summer. Our room temp was 75+ all night and I was disappointed that they did not discount the rate to compensate for the problem

Nice hotel but far from downtown Manhattan you need the bus and train to the city. Hotel neighborhood is very nice with many restaurants a few blocks away. Only a 20 minutes bus ride to downtown Flushing with many restaurants also.

After arriving at a totally unacceptable VRBO rental house we scrambled to get hotel rooms. BW Queens Gold Coast saved the day. They had 2 rooms available for 2 nights. More importantly they were very friendly and understanding of the situation we were in. Made our stay there fantastic!

Only downside was the we was not very comfortable. Other than that a very clean professionally run hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were there for only 1 night on a campus visit to SUNY Maritime. Perfect hotel for this trip.

Room was very small. But it was clean and met all of our needs. Expectations weren't very high, so pleasantly surprised with accommodations. Breakfast was nice. No fan in bathroom, with 2 adults/2 kids... that should be a necessity.

"Very good room and friendly staff"

Called the hotel immediately we landed at JFK and they gladly directed us on the best way to get there. Check in was fast too and the receptionist was quite nice and helpful. A short time after we got into our room, the receptionist called to check up on us to see if we were OK with the room or we needed anything. The hotel is very quiet and non smoking. The rooms are big and very neat and tidy. However the room we stayed in at least, was not baby friendly as we had to practically rearrange the room in order to prevent our 16 months old from breaking things. The hotel is in a great location close to several restaurants and eateries. It's also close to bus stations. There are complimentary breakfast, bottle water and coffee in the rooms and gymnasium. There is a restaurant in the hotel even though we did not use it, the receptionist gladly provided us with a list of restaurants around were we can find a variety of food. Our stay was pleasant.

We all enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff was friendly and ready to help. Travelling from hotel to other parts of the area was easily accessible. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and train station close by. Good places to eat. Surrounding is safe and clean

Nice place, clean, small rooms - a lot of hotel packed into a small corner space. Parking is free, but a difficult lot to negotiate- kind of a roof top lot, with pillars and walls. Breakfast was great- free coffee all day. Daily rate is high.

I needed to visit places on both Long Island & Staten Island so this hotel filled the fill as it's sort of mid-way. Reasonable prices, very friendly & courteous staff, good hot & cold breakfast, small but adequate room. Only potential issue would be their parking if the hotel was full although I almost, but did not, have that problem. Would stay their again if the circumstances warranted.

"Terrible experience"

The hotel had a strange odor to it. The elevator was very, very slow. When we tried to use the stairs to go to our vehicle, we were lead out to a very dark alley. The water in the shower went from very cold to very hot with no warning. The only window cover there was was a sheer curtain which did not block out the light coming in. My credit card was charged twice for a one night stay.

"Far exceeds expectations"

What a great hotel. Far exceeded my expectations for its age and size. Room was very clean. Price was very reasonable and staff was great. Tv was big, wifi, fridge, microwave, and very comfortable beds. While BW is not usually my first choice as a chain when traveling because they can be hit or miss, this one is a hit. Also has a LIRR station not far away for good access to Manhattan or mets game. Will definitely be here again!

"Excellent experience at BW Gold Coast"

We stayed at this hotel for two nights (Friday thru Sunday). Overall, an excellent experience. The staff (front desk, breakfast) is superb - the best we have ever experienced. Rooms are fairly small, but fine. Bed is comfortable and heating/air conditioning has been upgraded and works well - unlike many other hotels. Breakfast is very good - nice selection and quality. There is a restaurant on-site (Marbellas) which is not affiliated with BW. Good food selection, a bit expensive for us, but a nice change from fast food and take-out. And, very convenient after a long drive. (There is a Burger KIng just across the street for those who would be interested.) Saturday night we could not find parking at the hotel. (The parking is shared with the restaurant.) However, parking is available at the Adria hotel, which is just across the street from BW. No problems at all! In short, this is the place we stay when we visit Bayside.

We stayed for 3 nights...and it exceed our expectations. Full breakfast, great location to bus and rail road, kind people, clean bedrooms, etc. Definitely staying again in our next trip. We recommend it for anyone who wants to have a great trip.

I was here a month ago and chose this same hotel for this visit. Both times were for business. The staff is very friendly and they see to care about the guests. Had mechanical issue with my room this time and was immediately switched to another. Breakfast is ok and sufficient. Yes, rooms are small but are ok and sufficient. They are in good shape and are not outdated. Yes, the bathroom is small and the sink is usually in the bedroom. However, for the price you are paying all this is easily something that is not an issue. Yes, parking can be a little tight but again this is New York. Within short walk to many restaurants especially up on Bell. I would recommend this hotel for anyone in the area.

"nice touches"

This hotel provides a lot of nice touches. There was a keurig and and a bowl of apples in the lobby. The room had a bottle of water, a keurig, a small refrigeraor, and a small microwave, The bathroom had a heat lamp. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean. Our bed seemed smaller than a queen - but it was comfortable. The TV was large with a new clean remote. There was good (and free) internet connectivity. Breakfast was included - good selections (make your own Belgian waffles, eggs, potatoes, corned beef hash, oatmeal, cereals, yogurt, bagels, pastries and more) & a very friendly attendant. The exercise room was small, but sufficient. The bathroom sink was outside of the room with the usual soap, shampoo etc. But - the room and bathroom were tiny. I don't think that I have ever seen such a tiny bathroom. Our only issue was with trying to turn on the water for a shower. We thought that we had no water and a woman from housekeeping showed us that you had to pull really hard. I had to have my husband do it - because although I tried with all my might, I couldn't pull it out. When we checked out, the clerk desk said that this was a frequent issue & that they were hoping to get it resolved. If size is not an issue - then I highly recommend this hotel. Across the street was a Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, and Baskin Robbins. The hotel is right off of the main street but in a safe residential neighborhood.

"Great hotel for price and location"

We needed a hotel room for a college visit with my daughter. It was in a great location right off highway. Great breakfast eggs bacon cereal oatmeal waffles and pastry. It was quiet had off street parking and Triple A discount.

Great location, wonderful staff, good food, clean property...All is well nothing to complain about. 20 minutes walk from the nearest railroad. Safe place to be. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit NYC

"Nice stay except.............."

Very well kept hotel and room, outside of it being small but my shower never worked. I pushed and pulled the lever but to no avail....mind you that I had to go to work. I had to take a bird bath in the sink since it would've been too late for someone to fix the issue. Should get some type of refund or hotel credit for my inconvenience after hearing all of this stuff about how good the hotel is.

Near JFK airport, numerous eateries within walking distance, the establishment is functional chain lodging. The room is small but was equipped with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Quiet. Small parking lot attached.

Just here for one night. Small room but had everything in it you need, good wifi, microwave, mini fridge, iron and ironing board Comfortable bed and Quiet A bit strange room set-up with the sink outside the bathroom (shower and toilet) but that wasn't problematic Convenient to highway Excellent breakfast choices Staff was considerate, called after we settled into our room to see if we needed anything Did not use fitness center but it looked very tiny Only issue is to be careful in the parking lot-- it's small and unwieldy to enter and exit Would definately return

"Excellent Hotel"

The hotel is very clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. The buffet breakfast is excellent. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, however, there are many restaurants very nearby. The beds were comfortable. The particular room I stood in had a small bathroom, but not a problem for us. My only complaint is the parking situation. I was there Saturday to Sunday, I imagine the parking is not a problem during week days.

Very impressed with breakfast. Great selection of hot items. Excellent service. Room abit small but very clean. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Chris was a gem. He was helpful. Helped us with printing needs and getting us coffee from the breakfast room when the lobby one was out of order.

"You get what you pay for"

Was the hotel terrible, NO. Was the hotel bad enough to make me leave, absolutely not. Was the hotel a shinning example of what the owner wants to show, I'm sure it's not. It's rough around the edges. Elevator kinda noisy. Carpet kind of worn. Staff not unprofessional but not as sharp as I've seen other hotel staff.

My dad and I stayed here recently and we could not have had a better experience. The rooms are small but clean and Maria kept them beautifully for us always taking care to replace our water each morning. The beds were wonderful and the breakfast was delicious each day. The staff was extremely accommodating and we may be returning again soon. Highly recommend it.

"Great affordable Location"

This hotel was an excellent choice as we were visiting the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, as well as touring New York City. The Hotel is a 10 block walk to the Long Island Railroad which is extremely easy and affordable to get into NYC. Hotel staff was very helpful in helping with our transportation needs, ie. calling for a car, giving directions to the LIRR, etc. The breakfast is a hot, full breakfast. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Considering the neighborhood we needed to stay in in Bayside, Best Western did not fail us on this one. Great rate; great discount (AAA or Sr), NICE rooms and responsive staff. We would definatly return again to this Hotel. It's location is walking distance for places to eat - and in a great location, driving-wise, to get on main road arteries no matter which direction you need to go. Highly recommended.

"Quite old and basic"

Stayed 2 nights here. Needed to be local to Bronx and southern LI shore. So this was well located. Positives Free parking Free internet Well priced. Very central to everything Quite clean Negatives Old old property. Some attempt to modernise bathrooms. But really quite dated Linen was cheap and way too light. It was 10 degrees Celsius outside. Yet blanket was summer weight. I was cold overnight and I hate sleeping with ac on. Room not big with weird plan. Bathroom has no sink but a massive jacuzzi. Sink is outside by door. Just odd Wifi not fast Some street noise. Breakfast very limited but tasty enough Overall quite average property. Did he job for a cheap stay. But I don't think I'll be back.

"Great value"

The best thing about this hotel is its staff. Every person that I have encountered during my stay, from the front-desk receptionist, to the gentleman who brought me extra linens were extremely pleasant, and helpful. The room is decent-sized and clean. Probably the only negative aspect of my experience is that the noise insulation. I could hear voices in the hall, and doors closing. Fortunately, I am not a light-sleeper, but if you are, you may want to check with the hotel to get a room far from the elevator, and supply closest. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

"Great hotel with parking"

We had a stopover here after flying in to JFK and before we traveled north. It was very easy to find and having parking was perfect as we'd just picked up a hire car at the airport. The staff were friendly and prepared a breakfast bag for us as we were checking out early. The room was spacious and very clean with all facilities, coffee, fridge, etc. Very quiet considering where you are. Would stay again.

"Friendly place but small"

This hotel was very accommodating and friendly. My husband and I had a long car ride an arrived earlier than check in. The staff had no problem checking us in early. The down fall was the room was small. Very clean too

"Best Western Bayside Queens NY"

This hotel was chosen because it was a recognized chain, and it was near the homes of relatives in Queens whom we were visiting. It met these objectives. If I wanted a hotel because of business or sightseeing in Manhattan, I would look at other hotels. While the hotel was average in decor and cleanliness, the people working at the hotel were very capable and helpful. The room was on the small side, but this may be the case with many New York City hotel rooms in this price category.

This wknd was family and friends wknd at St John's University in Queens. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it. I called this hotel at the last minute and they were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed there with my two children. We arrived very late the day of check-in. They assured me over the phone that it was no problem, take my time. Once i arrived I wasn't sure if I was going to need one or two nights, they were very flexible. They recommended a few great places to eat which were delicious. Overall, a great stay and I will be using this hotel over the next 4 years whenever I visit my daughter!

"Nice place to stay at a reasonable price..."

I would recommend staying at this hotel if you need to stay in Queens or need access to LaGuardia Airport. It is an older property, but very well maintained. It's located in a nice residential neighborhood with plenty of businesses and restaurants near. The room was clean and the hotel staff were friendly. My only gripe would be the fact that the bathroom sink is located in the room, instead of being in the bathroom (but I think that has to do with it being an older property). The beds were comfortable, free wifi, Keurig and cups in the room, free breakfast is good, adequate selection of TV channels and the parking is FREE! That's right folks... Free parking in NYC. Bottom line... I would stay again!

"First time in NYC!!!"

We came here to celebrate my 22nd birthday, and I would like to thank the staff for making our 4 nights here enjoyable; Chris gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. Our room was clean and spacious. Also Anna gave us amazing tips on how to get to Manhattan our second night, she was a pleasure! Also, last but not least, Nilda was super helpful by setting up a sight seeing tour at the desk which is an amazing experience! Thank you Nilda for also giving us directions to go to coney island :). Our housekeeper Mayra was a sweetheart, always providing fresh towels and amenities everyday. Overall the staff really make up this hotel, even if it's an old property! I will also like to thank Jessica the General Manager for her reply to my email and helping me with my questions! Location, Staff,Breakfast and rooms were all excellent here, will definitely consider coming again if I ever come back to New York soon!

"convenient but lack of hot water in shower killed my experience for 7 nights"

An older property that is well maintained. Friendly staff. I really enjoyed the convenient location. When it comes to travel i'm a real boy scout and can't make the best of any situation. When I go into a place I have zero expectations. My biggest complaint was the consistent lack of hot water in the shower. For 7 nights I had to deal with a shower that gave me around 5 minutes of 'normal' mix of hot and cold water. Without fail - after the initial 5 minutes the water would turn ice cold, regardless of time of day. This killed my experience. The only other issue is a lack of parking. If you arrive after midnight it can be very difficult to find a space. I would stay here again but ONLY if I can be assured of getting hot water!

This hotel is in a safe neighbourhood and in a short 15 minute walk has good access to Bayside train station which takes you straight to Penn station. The rooms are clean the staff are friendly and helpful and there is free parking.

Excellent location outside of Manhattan where rooms are very expensive. Clean, comfortable rooms with WiFi and breakfast, and free parking. Staff very friendly. We were in town visiting family and friends. Plenty of good restaurants in the area to meet up with them.

My Daughter & I stayed for US Open Tennis. This hotel in safe part of town with free parking & breakfast is a great value for the money. Friendly staff. Good selection for Breakfast. Only negative for this Texan... Too cramped Parking space.

Our plane was late & our luggage was lost..... When we finally arrived at this hotel Anna was at the desk. Thank you, Best Western. She was so helpful (at almost midnight!). We were tired & cranky but she was smiling & joyful. What a pleasure to have at the end of a VERY long day! Our room was spotless, but we were too tired to enjoy it. Hopefully the next time we're there we'll have time to enjoy it!

"Accommodating and clean"

My wife and I recently spent two nights at this Best Western and were very pleased. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. There was a Keurig coffee maker with several pods of coffee, bottled water and multiple outlets for electronics. The breakfast buffet was adequate and left us full each morning and there was plenty of parking spots even though we returned late each night. The staff was very pleasant and professional. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return next year.

"Bayside Best Western"

Room very clean. A/C a little shaky but did the job. Good Price. Efficient and helpful staff. Breakfast very good. Overall a lot better than I expected. Avoid the restaurant that is in the building but "not affiliated with the Hotel" at all costs. The Bayside Diner is down the road a bit and much, much better.

"Reasonable price for NYC"

Arrival and departure without problems. Excellent front desk staff. Minimal facilities - one computer in a small stuffy room and a small adjacent work out room. If arriving without car, best to take LLR to Bayside and cab ($3 per person). After that, the cheapest option to get to NYC is to take the Q12 outside the hotel and connect with the subway in Flushing. From hotel to anywhere in NYC is $2.75!! LRI is about $9. Adjoining rooms have thin walls so a noisy neighbor talking on their phone at 2am disturbed our last night. Also the hot water was never hot enough for a bath. This was reported to front desk but no action taken.

"Really Nice Stay"

I was presently surprised by this hotel. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted very nicely by the really nice Spanish lady behind the desk ( apologies but I think her name was Villa). She even called me 20 minutes or so after my check in to make sure I was ok with the room. We ate in the restaurant on site and the food and service was very good. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I had a great night sleep. I would absolutely stay here again !!

"Great Customer Service by Mgr. Jessica Brown"

When my family visited the location one year ago, Ms. Brown was not the General Manager. During that stay, my account was not credited a $50 reward certificate that we had been awarded. Recently, I noticed the discrepancy and called customer service. Within 10 minutes, the current GM, Ms. Brown called my home, researched the situation and offered me two solutions. I am so impressed with the quick resolution, courteous attitude and alternate solutions (that even customer service did not offer.) Thank you Jessica. Your hotel is very nice and your customer service is outstanding.

The room was OK but the AC had a constant noise. The breakfast was good although they only had continental breakfast. There was still noise in the hallway after 10 pm. The location was nice and close to Long Island Train Railroad.

Hotel has been renovated. So clean, that it is a pleasure to stay there. Breakfast bar is a great place to get something to eat. A lovely lady keeps everything clean and replenished. She greets everybody with a smile. Unfortunately I didn't get her name.

"Great Place To Stay"

Very convenient to everything in the NYC area. Has arrangements for tours and other sightseeing adventures you would like to have. The restaurant attached to the hotel is first class. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious and excellent value for the money.

"Clean hotel in a relatively quieter neighborhood "

We booked it at a very good bargain two days before checking in (as we were totally deceived by AIRBNB when we booked an apartment on one of the Manhattan streets BTW). Very helpful staff and clean hotel. Easily accessible through the LRRI(metro). Breakfast was complimentary. Had a good time overall.

My daughter was attending a two day orientation at St. John's University. I was interested in finding a hotel close to the university in that I expect to be visiting periodically during the next four years. I wanted to find a place that would be my "go to" place when visiting. I found this property by searching hotels in the Queens area and it was rated quite high. What a gem we found!!! The hotel could not have met our needs any better. It was clean, comfortable and staffed by friendly people who really seemed to care about our stay. The hotel is small but this gives it a very cozy, family like feeling. Within 15 minutes of getting to our room, the wonderful young woman at the front desk called to see if everything was okay in the room. The hotel, for it's small size, offered everything that large hotels offer. The breakfast was wonderful. I understand that they have happy hours several evenings a week. We were not there to partake but that would be great. We explored the Bayside area while there and discovered Bell Boulevard. It was so fun and trendy and a short walk (or car ride) from the hotel. I will not be staying anywhere else while in Queens during the next four years. Oh - the parking was free!!! That was a bonus!! Thank you Best Western - we truly had a wonderful stay.

"One day stop"

Just a quick stop as we w er e heading to Jersey for a wedding. Flushing used to be home so wanted to hit all the good food places and Bayside is in the middle. Staff at front desk were very helpful. Room was just right, not very large. Breakfast was very good plenty to eat. Parking is tight but we had no problems getting a spot. Hotel is close to many places to eat, Bell Blvd is exceptional and also where you will find the LIRR station. I will come back next time.

"Noisy Room"

I could hear conversations from the hall outside my room as well as from the room next to mine. I could hear the television from the room next to mine. This awakened me just past midnight on a weekday. In other respects everything was very good but the room noisiness would dissuade me from using this hotel again.

"Good stay BUT"

Very nice people and very nice hotel. breakfast was nice would stay again. The only thing that wasn't good was the air was not good in rooms and when main. man came up and i showed him he said nothing he could do about it. NOT what you want to hear when you"re paying for a room and it's 90 degrees out.Oh and wifi could be A LOT BETTER.

Excellent value. Nice room with excellent full breakfast. Convenient location. Free parking included. Although I had to travel back and forth to Manhattan, the stay was only a third of what it would have been in Manhattan. The commute was worth the savings.

"Great Hotel but not a great location"

The Best Western Queens Gold Coast is a gem. Our parking was free, the hotel was less than half as much as staying in the city, and breakfast was great and free. There were some negatives. First, it is a looooong way from the city. 18 miles in New York City may as well be the distance to the space station. We drove from Georgia to NYC and had our car there so we decided to drive in from Queens. It took about an hour and a half. (We left at about 7:30 a.m. and traffic was even worse than I thought it would be.) There is a bus stop in front of the hotel that will take you all the way in or to the subway station in Flushing. There is also the Long Island Railroad at about $10.00 each To Penn Station and you have to then pay to get on a subway. All of those options will take at least an hour to get you into the city if not more. The only benefit is that you don't have to drive. If you get into the city before 10 a.m., you can park until midnight or even later, for about $35.00. We did that and even though it took about 1.5 hours to get there, our car was available, they let us get stuff out and put stuff in and it was in the heart of the area we wanted to be in. (ICON Parking at 20 East 39th Street) It was only about 8 blocks from the theater district and Times Square and only 3-4 blocks from Grand Central, the NY Public Library (EVERYBODY needs to see that building if you are in NYC), and Bryant Park. So, driving into the city is a definite option if you have patience and don't mind jamming your car into minuscule spaces to get into the lane you need. My suggestion is that you leave really early or wait until about 10:00 a.m. If you do that, it will only take about 45 minutes to an hour. Back to the hotel. The room was super clean and comfortable. The bed was very nice with a pillow top mattress and great pillows. There was plenty of hot water for all 3 of us to get showers. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave as well as a keurig coffee maker. There is also a computer desk with a leather desk chair and a separate chair you can sit in to put on your shoes. The room was quiet even though we were on the street side. Parking is not great as the spaces are tight and you have to dodge posts to get into them, but it's free and doable. You just have to take your time getting into some of the spaces. At breakfast on day 1 there were scrambled eggs and corned beef hash as well as pastries, bagels, oatmeal, cereal, fruit juices, boiled eggs, yogurt, granola and make-your-own waffles (including chocolate chips, strawberries and whipped cream). They had all of these same things on day 2 except there was bacon instead of corned beef hash. Breakfast starts at 6:30. The staff was very friendly, but they don't know a whole lot about visiting NYC. I was told by 1 that parking in the city was $18.00 an hour. We paid $34.00 for parking and it was there for about 12 hours. Using the subway and LIRR would have been at least $50.00 for 3 of us. They are very nice and can take care of any problems you have at the hotel, but don't ask them too much about going into the city. If you want to drive in, send me a question. I am now an expert. My wife loved the hotel as well, but would have rather stayed in the city and pay the extra money to avoid the traffic. It is a trade-off. We saved a lot of money but lost some time.

"Go Somewhere Else"

Where to begin... The hotel signs show a check-out time of 11AM and check-in time of 2PM. However, the front desk says that your check-in time is 3PM. We arrived shortly before 2PM to check-in. We found out our room wasn't ready. The reason our room wasn't ready was due to the guest before us never checking out and the hotel not doing anything about it until we arrived. When the hotel finally got us a room, we found it to be small, and not so clean. The headboards above the bed had not been dusted in quite some time and you could feel the dust in the air if you were an allergy suffer as if the room's air filters had not been cleaned in a while. The air-conditioning in our room was horrendous. Despite having the AC on the highest (thermostat set to fan high/cool/68 degrees) the room was only able to cool to 76 degrees in the daytime when the outdoor temperature was 84 degrees (window was closed, shades were drawn). Parking at this hotel was another nightmare. The Best Western and the neighboring Adria are owned by the same people and offer the ability to park in each other's decks. However, both lots are extremely small with tight spaces. They had events at both hotels which left the guests with no where to park. The two positive things I was able to take out of this hotel were: 1. The bed linens were clean 2. The staff were nice

We had a very good experience at this hotel. It started with the front desk being friendly and efficient. Housekeeping was spot on. They could not do more to make our room perfect. They kept the rooms clean and always made up quickly. They had an excellent complimentary breakfast every morning. The staff was cheerful and friendly which made for a good start to the day.

"Decent but small one"

Decent hotel but a small one. Downtown hotel are too expensive so we wanted to stay here and they offer free car parking. Parking is little peculiar. You need to cross the hotel on your right, then turn right to get an entry on your right. This is at a parking level and the reception is one level down. Room is quite small and the toilet is even smaller. The corridor is quite depressing. They provide complimentary breakfast, which is good. There are some restaurants nearby. A Wendy's is just opposite. It's a 10-15 min walk to the railway station and the train takes 30 min to reach Manhattan. Ensure that you check the time table, because the train is not very frequent. Off peak single journey fare is around $8 and hence may be less expensive to reserve a parking in downtown and go by car in case you are 3-4 people. We did that on the second day. Booked a parking online near South Battery and drove there. For Family stay, this hotel may be ok for 2 nights or so.

"Great staff makes the difference."

I was happy with my stay in this small hotel because there were always helpful people working the front desk. I was handed a cold bottle of water when I emerged from the fitness center, and the breakfast staff person was on top of everything. But the real test came when we got home....and were missing a piece of luggage. We had left it in the room by mistake. A call quickly established that it had been found and was waiting for us at the desk, but we had already left New York. We asked them to ship it, and Paul, the manager, arranged Fed Ex quickly and got us the tracking number within a couple hours. The missing luggage arrived completely intact and we are grateful for the good folks in housekeeping and the front desk who made it possible.

"ECONOMY & COMFORT"

Recently stayed at Best Western Queens Gold Coast while in neighborhood for an event. Its always weird staying in a hotel in the area you grew up in...but it was good to be back. Was glad to see that this hotel had availability at the last minute... Check-in was seamless and quick and while the room was not huge... it was appropriately sized. It was Very Clean. There was a very comfy large leather recliner in the room which was nice after an annoying commute from the city. After being in my room for 15 mins... the front desk called to check to make sure all was up to standard.... You'd be surprised how infrequent this happens. Its the little things that make a stay more enjoyable. :) The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good and water was hot. There were plenty of towels. The breakfast wasn't bad and a nice treat as I was running out the door. 24 hour coffee in the lobby :) Check out was quick and easy and I was happy to see that the staff chased me down b/c I left a phone charger in the room (the little things). If I was going to say anything on the negative side.... Parking lot is small and while I didn't count the spots I imagine it might be limited (maybe Im wrong)/ From the parking lot to the rooms and lobby is a small VERY SLOW elevator. Other than that you have to leave the parking lot and walk around to the front desk... but then wait for the same Slow Elevator to go to the rooms. Unless u want to huff it up the stairs to rooms. Just know its not a big elevator if there are a bunch of people waiting with several bags. Overall... An Inexpensive Comfortable Stay. Not many options in the area for a clean comfortable room. "All you need"

We needed a hotel just for one night as a stopover. Away from Manhattan. This hotel offers all you need. Nice and quiet room. Green space within walking distance and a great Spanish restaurant (Marbella) near by. They serve the best paella we ever had! In the morning you can enjoy the complimentary breakfast buffet. A 20 minutes ride frim JFK ($45).

I went to EDC NY at citified and the event it was a short drive from the hotel. The rooms were clean and thee staff was friendly. They were also extremely helpful. There was free breakfast and a Keurig in the room with k-cups.I would most definitely stay at this hotel again.

This is a fantastic hotel to stay in the Queens/Bayside area. right at a bus stop and close to Alley pond park for stretching you legs and bird watching. Good breakfast ever morning with polite helpful staff.

"Thumbs up for service"

Although the hotel was too far for our liking, the parking and breakfast and service from the staff made up for it. Because of NY traffic, everything took around 40 mins-1.5 hours to get to (Time square, Yankee stadium etc). But since we were traveling with a 10 month baby, I needed a hotel with a parking lot. I was worried because other reviewers said parking lot was full because of the restaurant. However, we found parking everyday but we visited Tues - Thurs.The breakfast was decent. It was a good start of the day before sight-seeing. Overall, our stay was pleasant.

"Comfortable and clean weird bathroom setup"

Great check in very friendly staff even gave me Hershey kisses an apple and two granola bars. I thought that was very nice. Room was nice and clean comfortable beds and pillows flat screen tv quiet AC unit. Bathroom sink was in the room and the toilet and shower was like a water closet odd setup but it was functional. Very tight on site parking. Overall great stay. Only reason for the 4 stars was the difficult parking lot and beyond SLOW elevator.

"5star experience in a three star hotel."

I have never reviewed an hotel but I will honestly say best western has been amazing.. I really have to let people know it's great value for money. Stayed here with my family from the UK. Great and helpful staff.. Naming few; Nilda, Ann in breakfast room, Kishina that does the 12am shift.., Chris. Etc. Amenities great, extras water, coffee, etcetera., complimentary buffet nice, with varieties on different days.. Rooms cleaned everyday.. I see people complain about room size, common guys it's not bad for an hotel in NYC for the price. I can't fault anything ...close to rail station and also to restaurants. I am checking out today but will stay here again if we come back to NYC. Thank you to all the staff here! You all are amazing.

"Visiting JFK"

My family stayed one night for flight at the JFK. It was 20 min distance from the airport and good for price. Breakfast provided and wifi internet connection was good. I would visit again if I have another chance.

"Sleep Only"

If you just want a place to sleep while sightseeing or something else, this hotel is fine, even though the beds are not the greatest! The rooms are very small - we had a suite and could hardly move about in the room. You had to close the bathroom door to find the toilet paper and the sink is out in the room. If you want space, comfort and luxury, look elsewhere.

"Nice hotel in a great location"

The hotel is in a great choice if you want to see NYC and not spend a ridiculous amount on a Manhattan hotel room. It is a 10 minute walk from LIRR on Bell Blvd. While you are staying in NYC take a walk up Bell Blvd and experience some great restaurants and night life without the annoying crowds of Manhattan. The room itself was updated and had nice amenities.

"Good value for the money"

Have stayed several times at this hotel while visiting family in the area. Had a fairly large King size room this time and it was very comfortable. All the bathrooms are tiny, tiny. But sink is outside the bathroom and so it works. Average breakfast. Nice service staff and they give extras: bottled water, apples and health bars, newspaper, etc. Good value for the money. And the only decent hotel in the area. Near lots of restaurants and shopping.

Very clean. Customer service was excellent. Appreciated the extra amenities provided by the front desk staff including newspapers, extra blankets. Breakfast was good, especially the fresh fruit and pastries. It was a convenient location and we would return again when in this area of New York City.

Had a great stay here. The hotel delivered everything promised and did it well. The room was small but recently renovated, well lit, the bed comfortable. Coffee is available in the room and lobby. The hot breakfast was limited but again well prepared . Hotel staff was consistently friendly and attentive.The parking lot fills up and my room was right on the street but for the price this was a great deal.

I travel a lot for business so it's nice to find a hotel that's clean, comfortable, and convenient. The rooms may be small, but they're clean, the beds are comfortable, it's quiet, and there's a Keurig in the room with coffee pods. Hello morning! Complimentary breakfast, there's a small restaurant with a bar downstairs (it's not affiliated with the hotel), and on site parking. Staff is friendly and very helpful. You'll probably even get a phone call once you get to your room just to make sure that you're satisfied with your room. Not many places seem to do that anymore.

The Hotel is small and very, very comfortable and extremely clean. The rooms were decorated very nicely and had a very comfortable bed. There is a microwave and mini fridge which was very handy with the grand kids. And the front desk and housekeeping staff were all very nice and made us feel that we were in a much more expensive hotel. We will defiantly stay in this hotel when we are visiting my family in New York

My wife and I spent two days at this hotel while visiting family in Queens and Brooklyn. It's extremely difficult to find a hotel in NYC area that has free on site parking. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was very clean and equipped with a Keurig coffee maker (yeah ). We arrived two days after the blizzard hit the area. The parking lot was plowed and salted which was amazing given the amount of snow that had fallen. We will definitely stay here every time we come to visit.

The Best Western Bayside Inn is our choice when visiting local family. The location is convenient to transportation and restaurants. We slept very well on the comfortable bed. We really appreciate the free breakfast and internet. There are good hot and cold choices for breakfast, and the internet connectivity was good.

OK, again, I travel a lot. 300 nights a year in hotels. Usually drab little chain hotels that blend into gray space. This little hotel is not one of those. I had to work in Bayside for a few days and my travel coordinator booked me into this little hotel. ITS RIGHT OFF THE FREEWAY!!!! Like literally. You can NOT get lost trying to find it. And there's parking! Free parking at that. The hotel itself is small and the people that work there are very friendly. The rooms are small (NY remember) but comfortable and clean. There is a breakfast in the morning that is complementary. There's a restaurant downstairs that is a hoot! The waiters are incredibly funny and very attentive. It's like if your nutty uncles went into the restaurant business. I met a friend for dinner there and we had a blast! This location is close to shopping and dining (check out the Korean restaurant right down the street) and did I mention its close to the freeway!!!!?????? Loved this place and the kooky coffee machine in the lobby made my day!

I had to find a hotel quickly to attend a wake and funeral. I selected the best western not knowing what I would find. I was very happy to find caring and professional staff, very clean rooms with soft towels and great amenities (check out the coffee maker in the lobby!!!). Only disappointment was the size of the room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Very poor experience - do not stay here"

Booked a room with a King Bed directly with Best Western. Was provided with a room with a Queen Bed and NOT told about it by the person at the front desk. On entering the room I discovered it was a Queen Bed. Headed back to the front desk and then I was told that there were no rooms with King beds. The room itself was obviously the worst room, corner room near a staircase, smelly. When I asked for another room was provided a similar room 2 floors up. Very disappointed. Will never again stay at a Best Western

"Our little getaway"

My husband and I were very satisfied with our stay. The location i every quiet and everything was great. The bed was comfortable, the pilows are a bit high and hard and we couldn't close the curtains all the way so the sunlight came in in the morning but other than that it wasn't bad.

"J9's New Years Eve in NYC"

Overall the experience was good. The staff supportive at check out but could not deliver a fan upon request after check in. The lobby was cute. The restaurant next door was busy but then it was New Year's Eve! Complements on the bed I did get a restful sleep. The attempt to mask a smoker's smell with perfume did not work.

Have stayed a number of times here. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms. Staff goes out of its way to help any way they can and are very friendly. Breakfast is easy and filling. Convenient location, right off parkway.

Hotel is very nice! Room is confortable and clean. Service and staff are very kind. Breakfast is very good. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I would recommend anybody to stay in this hotel. The price is reasonable and affordable.

Simple, clean, organization, comfortable, cozy, practical, strategic. The team of the hotel is fantastic.The breakfast was very good.Free parking, very organized and clean.Near the subway station and the bus station.The hotel's team is helpful and very polite.

Good for a quick stay but seems like it needs some cleaning. Vending machine broken with no care to fix. Small and tight parking spaces. Double rooms are very, very tight. Remote control not working. Door seemed unsafe.

I was traveling for business. This was my first time traveling to the Bayside area. I found it very easy to travel to this hotel. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. The coffee machines were great! I could still have my French Vanilla coffee which I did not expect to be able to have while traveling. That was such a wonderful surprise and made my mornings, thank you Best Western Bayside Inn. It's the little things that make life great.

Nice location and the hotel is good. Rooms are a little small and bathroom is very small. All is clean and the rooms are well stocked with microware, refrigerator, tv, and wifi. Overall a pleasant experience. Breakfast even included Bialy's in addition to bagels

the first thing that struck me was the warmth / hospitality of the staff.they were friendly & efficient.the rooms were clean & quiet, quite unusual since Northern Blvd can be busy esp on Friday evenings,as a whole the facility was well maintained though the elevator is showing its age.now the breakfast is something else,they offer a wide selection of hot & cold stuff which are more than adequate.the hotel also has a decent Spanish restaurant,plus it's close to a good Korean resto. access to Manhattan & Long Island is pretty easy given its proximity to the LIRR station

the room was always clean and tidy, convenient location, nice hotel staff, free parking and wifi. breakfast every day; apples and granola bars available 24/7 for midnight munchies! felt like coming home after a long day out and about.

"No blinds!"

While this Best Western is very much your standard fare, it had three flaws: (1) the heavy blinds don't pull across the windows, so even with the thin white curtains for privacy, the light of the city at night was frustrating, (2) the walls are paper thin, I could hear the conversations in the adjoining rooms, (3) it is hugely over priced! It would be a reasonable stay that I would have been happy with for $70/night which makes their current prices outrageous!

I stayed at this hotel because I needed a place to get ready for my wedding. I had a great experience and the staff was very friendly and was able accommodate all my needs and requests. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean and had a beautiful decor which worked great for my photo-shoot with my bridesmaids. The hotel also offers free breakfast which was a plus during my stay. The location is perfect as it is close to long island and queens. Overall I was very satisfied with the staff, place, and service. I would recommend this hotel and stay again in the future.

"Location, Location, Location"

Easy access to both NYC and Long Island. I always feel like I get more than I pay for when staying at the Best Western in Bayside, especially when comparing this hotel to others in the area. The entire staff is very friendly and Marbella (restaurant adjacent to the hotel) is fantastic. The bathroom is small and parking is sometimes a challenge. However, these minor flaws are more than offset by the complimentary breakfast buffet and overall hotel quality.

We stayed in this hotel because we needed to go to Jericho and Sands Point. The room was comfortable and adequate for our needs. There is a Keurig and fridge in the room. The bathroom is tiny with a small tub and a low toilet. The very small closet has a curtain instead of a door. There is a coffee/cappuccino machine in the lobby. Be careful requesting a wake up call. We never got ours today. We were lucky we were awake! The breakfast is buffet with juice, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, hot oatmeal, pastries, yogurt, oranges. Parking can be very difficult if people are using the restaurant. They have a sister hotel right next door for more parking. The front of the hotel can get noisy with the cars and trucks going by. The staff is very pleasant.

Fantastic place to stay if you have reason to visit SUNY Maritime College. Clean, quite, safe, with a good breakfast, just across the I-295 Throgs Neck bridge from the college. We return regularly to visit our Mariner.

I flew in to NY on Thursday got to my original hotel only to find Expedia canceled our reservations. I called all around town trying to find a place to stay for four nights. I spoke to Chris on the Phone and he had just had a cancelation but only for a two nghts stay. I checked again with him at the front desk today and he was able to get us another room for the remaining two nights. Long story short Chris and best western saved our Vacation not once but twice. I highly recommend you stay at the Best Western in Bayside Queens if you are ever in town.

We are currently staying at this hotel and I'm writing this review from my room. We were quite skeptical before we arrived due to some of the reviews, however I remember seeing ads on cable about the brand and hoped for the best. This is an extremely clean hotel with everything you need! Privacy is top notch as it's very quiet. The bed is so comfy and the lady who services our room- didn't get her name but she is an elderly lady with grey/white hair- does a pretty good job. We have not experienced any noise as others have complained about. The breakfast options are more than adequate for us seeing that we are spending most of our time enjoying NYC. Come on people, it's complimentary, you can't expect a different spread every day! The neighborhood is extremely safe and we even took a stroll to bell boulevard on our first night. We are very excited and our first trip to NYC is going very well so far. Thank you BW Bayside for making our accommodation so comfortable.

Free parking; free breakfast. Room clean. Actually the best sleep I had this week. Generous pillows and towels. Elevator available. Wendy's across the street. Mizumi sushi and seafood buffet was a half mile away. Bus stop nearby. Front desk friendly for directions.

We chose this hotel because it was the only one with free parking and not too far from Manhattan. The LIRR station is close but trains to Penn Station were very expensive and so we often parked the car in Flushing and caught the subway (7 line to Times Sq) from there (way cheaper!). But if it wasn't for the parking I wouldn't recommend this place: when we arrived in our room we heard an annoying noise coming from the air conditioned motors located outside just under the window. Fortunately they changed our room. Moreover the included breakfast was poor and so we preferred the close Dunkin'Donuts. We also had to cover our window with a blanket as there was no curtain. At least our room was clean.

I noticed that you mentioned it being difficult finding a convenient way to reach Manhattan from our property. I would like to inform you that besides the LIRR, the NYC MTA does provide buses throughout the city, and fortunately for us, our property is very close to buses running to Flushing. Upon using the bus to the Flushing-Main St. station, the MTA does provide a free bus to train transfer after paying for bus fares. This is an easy alternative for those traveling on a budget, or do not have a vehicle to drive around. As far as the noise, we try our very best to accommodate guests if we come across unavoidable inconveniences such as the issue you had experienced during your stay. I am sorry to hear that our breakfast did not meet your expectations, but we are open to all suggestions.
