"Good hotel, excellent breakfast options"
Stayed for two nights, unfortunately the cleaner didn't change towels etc. so had to ask for extras, however were supplied immediately by the excellent staff on reception. I say excellent as Bonnie on the front desk could not be more helpful, a very endearing young lady who couldn't do enough for you. Why can't all reception staff be like her?! No problem with the noise from the freeway, were supplied with ear plugs just in case. Room was spacious. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast choices. Well done Best Western!

"Diamond Select Member Review - The Pros and Cons"
The pros and cons of my stay are as follows: 1) The pros: the rooms are clean, the location is close to Oakland and San Francisco, the staff is friendly, and there is security at night. 2) The cons: All the outside window screens on the south building side must be replaced. It looks like sketchy people have either tried or have successfully broken into these rooms multiple times. I was a little apprehensive about staying in the room, given the sketchy appearance of the screen frames, which were bent, dislodged, and easy to take off the window. Fearing my safety and the security of my personal belongings, I double-checked the inside window lock, and it was not too stable, which is why it appears that the hotel installed a secondary window locking bar device along the inside base of the window to prevent someone from forcibly breaking into the room. I understand replacing the screens is expensive and can be annoying. Still, the security appearance of the screens is not becoming of a BW Plus hotel and is more in line with the broken aesthetics of a Rodeway Inn or Motel 6. However, I also realize that this type of change needs to come from hotel ownership, not front desk staff, security, maintenance, or hospitality, all of which are doing a fantastic job; hence, my positive review, followed by some suggestions for guests and hotel ownership. Suggestions that can be either objectively addressed or subjectively ignored. For guests, I recommend guests (especially families, business travelers, and construction workers) stay in the north building, where all the entrances are inside, and the screens are secure or not an issue, as opposed to the south tower, where the entrance door and screens are outside and easier to potentially burglarize, given the sketchy appearance of the screen frames.

"Great"
The hotel was a good price. Hot tub was good. And nobody complained about the sex sounds coming from our room all night. Yup. I had a great stay. Breakfast was okay. I would rent again if I am in the area.

"5 stars!!!!"
I loved the staff working here!! From the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff, this has been the best Best Western Plus Inn I have ever been in!! When I was out with my friends, housekeeping organized my shoes very nicely

"Awesome hotel"
Very nice staff, free parking and breakfast. This is a great hotel to stay in bay area. Front desk is very helpful so as housekeeping. I have no complaints. Please stay at this location if you're around bay area.

"Horrible hotel"
Right off the freeway exit. My husband was there for business and I tagged along. Thank goodness I rented my own car to get away during the day. 2nd night there they broke Into his truck and stole some tools. We were put by the Landry room, so all morning I heard the linen carts up and down. Breakfast was runny eggs. 4th night there someone tried to sell brand new tools in the boxes to my husband. Shady people upstairs that smoked weed all day . I told my husband. That's it I'm booking all hotels now. I would rate this hotel a 0.
"Very noisy. too close to Freeway"
This is definitely not a place for family. First of all, this hotel is too close to freeway. It is so noisy at night that even the earplugs did not help. There were guys (who were the guests) doing BBQ in parking lot right outside our room and playing loud music.
Jerre Leahy, Other at Best Western Plus Inn Of Hayward, responded to this review
Thank you for being our guest. We are sorry we missed meeting some of your expectations which inconvenienced your stay. We hope to have another opportunity of welcoming you both back soon for a much better experience.
"Great"
Location is good. Room was great. Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Food was hot and milk was cold. Beds are comfortable and decor is pleasing. The people working were very pleasant and helpful. Recommend

"Pool is open."
Things are getting back to normal and the pool was open. However the gym still isn't. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room instead of a grab and go bag. Location is noisy, as it is next to a freeway.

"I was racial profile"
I was racially profiled accuse of smoking in room I don't even smoke I have smoked in over 12 Years this is the second time this happened at best western they over charged my card never again I will. Be Contacting corporate

"BEWARE!"
This is a party/hook-up motel. People not wearing masks roaming the halls all night and all night parties, Smoking even in the elevator, Carpets so filthi they turn your feet black. Worst pillows I have ever tried to sleep on, like laying your head on a bag of rags. Very very disappointing. I have used Best Western for years and never before had an experience like this. Things must be tough to sell a place like this a flag.

"Adequate for my needs"
Very funcunctial hotel. Breakfast started too late to get a chance to try it. No drinking water available on the property. Location is close enough to Alameda to commute without having to pay the inflated rates and fees. Rooms are pretty large with plenty of room. Refrigerator does not have a freezer.

"Decent room but noisy"
First off this is a motel, not a hotel. This means the doors open to the outside parking lot. Being right next to the freeway meant that it was very loud all day and all night. The hotel provides ear plugs but that is not a real solution. If you are a light sleeper then you will not want to stay here. Location is convenient and fairly close to downtown Hayward and the airport and Target and McDonalds. But there are a ton of homeless in the vicinity and it isn't safe to walk around. The room was indeed excellent and well done. Nice new furniture and carpet and comfortable bed. The bathroom however was tiny and cramped and old. Only enough room for toilet and tub. Also on this particular trip the bath tub had not been cleaned when I arrived.

"Rude and Unhonest"
I was accussed and kick out for smoking in the room when I do not even smoke! My husband does how ever. I went down to extend our room and she said that she would need to check it. I agreed my husband seen us walking back to the room put his cigarette out placed it back in his pack and placed it in his jacket. Then walked in behinde us. She then began accusing ME of smoking in the room told me I must get out and and charged a fee. I tried explaing I dont smoke and that my husband had just put obe out and its in his pack in his coat and nothing! Just rude

"Nice and affordable"
My family stayed here twice and we had little to no issues. The room was clean, the sink stopped a little but not much. Temperature control of shower was perfect. They also give ear plugs because this location is close to the freeway. I can appreciate them taking the step to provide earplugs that are waiting in our room when we arrive. It's the little things and effort that makes a big difference. We would stay there again.

"Charged an extra night "
I stayed in room 314 checking in on February 25 and I handed my keys in on Thursday the 27th at 5am but I still got charged for the night! This is a working class hotel, with lots of company trucks and shift workers. People will be arriving off work at midnight, and filling up large buckets from the ice machine at 5am.

"Poor customer service"
The room was fine. This Hayward location does not live up to the Best western Plus standards. The people working the breakfast area were either to busy socializing or reading a book to fill the food items that ran low or out. Check in experience was mediocre at best. The person at checkout could not properly explain my bill nor did they understand the billing. Very poor customer service. This place is not up to the Best western standards. I f you want a horrible experience, this is the place to go.

Checking in was easy and fast. The front desk ladies were super nice. The only thing was I considered a downfall was the room we were in was every humid and the air wasn't circulating well. Other than that our stay perfect and checking out was also easy and fast.

"A- Street Find worked for Us"
Convenient to Hwy 880 and downtown Hayward. We've stayed here twice and had restful sleep. Rooms are spacious and attractive. . Breakfast selection is very good. Staff very helpful. Good BW standards. Very impressed waking across the 4 lane A street - drivers were polite.

"For about the same cost, stay at the Hamton Inn in Hayward"
I've stayed here and at the Hampton Inn/Hayward each in the past month. There is no competition, and the Hampton is a better place. First off, the quality of the guests staying is a big factor. There were so many loud and obnoxious people staying at the Best Western and noisy in the hall well into the night. I also witnessed, what seemed like a domestic dispute between what looked like a husb/wife. The fighting/yelling was so intense I very nearly called 911. This went on for about 10 minutes at night. The rooms are better quality there and if you travel alot like I do, the rewards are better there.

"Horrible front desk service make sure you don't call them they got frustrated and harsh you for that!"
Horrible front desk service. Betsy seems the owner of the hotel she harassed me and my family for try to get a room in the elevator building so unprofessional, racist, awful, and rude she was screaming to us saying we made calls to her and never call my family got there at 4 in the morning got sleep and at 6 she called them wake up the kids saying all rude your is gonna be ready at 3 and hung up the phone. I requested a quote for my business trip but of-curse I won't go back to this place.

"Bestwestern Hayward"
Everything was great. Location, amenities and the employees are helpful snd professionals. They have to do something with the breakfast. Add more selections of meal, fruits and drinks. I paid with breakfast included. I expect to have the same quality just like other bestwestern.

"Clean & comfy Bed"
Just an average room with a comfortable bed. Nothing fancy and good for an overnight while traveling. The front desk was empty when we arrived and all that was there was a sign saying “be right back”. We waited about 10 minutes and then the front desk man returned. He was slow to help us and seemed challenged by how to process the gift card we had. He finally figured it out and when we got home I checked and all had been processed correctly. Jetted bathtub in room but didn't use. Breakfast was super basic with limited choices. Internet was good! Fridge and microwave in room.

"Musty"
No cold water. I couldn't even take a bath. The water was scolding hot and they couldn't fix it and no more rooms. Couches are dirty and sticky. Rooms smell musty. Like a cheap motel. Best Western needs no check their franchises.

"Terrible experience"
Room was musty, loud, tv and lights did not work. Front desk didn't know how to process my corporate discount rate nor apply a BW Gift card to my reservation. Breakfast was low quality. Not the greatest Best Western experience.

"Bad experience!"
I never made it to my room. I needed to cancel because of insufficient funds and was told that I was not able to cancel because of the time frame. Turns out I “made” two reservations. Both in different emails and information. I wanted to cancel at least one because it had false information and I was denied. When I was making my reservation I only saw that it said cancel before 4pm. It never had anything saying otherwise. That should be something through out the whole reservation process including the confirmation page. A receptionist answered my call and was rude. So I called best western directly and they tried to calm me down by saying I'll try; however they did the same step as me by contacting the hotel directly. I thought that by calling the main office they would help me out, but it turns out they don't have authorization in to do so. Make sure you check everything before you make a reservation!

Quick stay at BW Hayward.. location isn't the best, but very centrally located for bay area.. hotel was nice and fairly updated.. check-in was easy and quick.. rooms were clean and bed was comfy.. good continental breakfast with waffles,bacon,eggs..and best of all very affordable! We will return..

The room we had was very noisy because it was next to the interstate the sink was outside the bathroom so it made it smaller the bed was comfortable it had everything you wanted plus breakfast included it had fridge Wi-Fi and tv iron and checkout was 11.00am and free parking.

"Not to clean."
When we first arrived the internet pictures did not show the entrance to your room is outside. So it's a Motel. Because we all stayed there as a team, I did not check out immediately. I should have. I turned on the air conditioner that night and a roach decided to come out of it. Well I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. A few towels were dirty . Then house keeping knocked on our door at 9am. Not just a regular 3 knocks. No, a continuous knock. Then said "oh you not checking out." Well check out is at 11am. Just wasn't the best neighborhood either.

"No surprises good or bad"
It is a decent hotel but nothing special either. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean but the decor seemed a little dark and dated. Everything worked. Very close to heavy traffic. Earplugs were included but the noise was not excessive
"Ok but nothing more"
Well, we frankly expected more from a BW plus. We picked this hotel for the convenience of being close to the interste, and it turns out, this is its biggest appeal. This place is rahter sad. Room needs to be refreshed. When nice places put chocolates on your pillow, this one puts ear plugs on your night stand, for a reason: The window doesn't cut out any of the noise of the road! We had nicer places for less money downtown San Francisco in the past.
"Nice place to stay."
The hotel is very nice and the property is organized well to help keep city noise sheltered out well. The staff members were all amazing and helpful. My checkin experience was quick and efficient so I could get to my room quickly and relax for the night.
"This Hotel was not worth $220 a night."
The staff was friendly but the rooms were very old and poorly remodeled. The Area that the hotel is located at doesn't seem very safe at night. The parking was very limited unless you wanted to park on the backside of the hotel.
"Nice, clean, comfortable place"
This is a nice place with nice furnishings. It was very quiet, and comfortable, and very clean. There was lots of hot water. They have a great brunch with many choices! I would definitely stay here again.
"Do not stay here, homeless camps would appreciate you more. Unless you feel like being racially profiled youll be fine"
It seemed like I was a big burden being at this hotel. The staff has no appreciation for its customers at least for minorities. They practiced very unethical business practices in my opinion and did not honor the price I reserved online.
"great"
very nice clean room would stay there again, should our travels bring us there, we have stayed at this motel several times and each time we get the same service.AND it is pet free, very important to us.
"Best hotel for the money"
Nice rooms for a downtown hotel. The parking lot is gated and a security guard walks the grounds at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. This saves time and money when traveling with a family.
"Nice property, convenient location"
it was a nice property and the hotel staff were professional and accommodating. I would not recommend for a light sleeper, however. the traffic from the freeway and the Saturday night partiers made it loud. No wonder they left us ear plugs on the nightstand!
"Nice but Noisey"
The hotel wass located between a highway and a major street. A lot of traffic noise, motorcycles etc. Ear plugs were provided but I didn't use them because I like to be aware of my surroundings especially when traveling alone.
"Nice, but a "Plus"?"
Hotel is serviceable when working in the area.Rooms are comfortable but the carpet really needs to be cleaned.. Daily breakfast should be offered earlier than 0630 because of all of the guests that are staying there for work.Breakfast itself has very limited selections that never change.
"Hayward Best Western"
Whenever I'm in the area for work or pleasure I book a room at this hotel. It's always clean and comfortable with very easy access on and off the freeway. I have stayed here many times over a few years and always am satisfied with my stay.
"One night stay"
We booked this hotel while attending a funeral in Hayward. Everything was booked in the area so we decided on this hotel because it also had a swimming pool which the kids wanted to enjoy. We booked a two queen room with jacuzzi, but upon check in they said someone stayed over another night so we get a standard room with two queen beds. It was okay since we were there for only one night. The lady that checked us in was very nice and helpful. Even though they were full the next day, she gave us a noon check out. The room was okay size, but the bathroom was very small. Our shower head was leaking. The size of the shampoo and conditioner was a joke. It was less than even one ounce. Better not put in the room at all. Bed was clean, but the pillows were very uncomfortable. We were on the ground level next to the busy road. Apparently, there is a noise issue here because they left ear plugs in the room. We could hear people all night opening and closing doors, talking, etc. We checked in around 5pm. Used the pool, which isn't heated or cleaned throughout the day. There were so many leaves and dirt in the pool. The hot tub gets didn't work. We informed front desk and they said it takes about 10 minutes to kick in and even after an hour, it was yet to kick in. We left for dinner around 7 and came back around 10. There was no parking . Big utility trucks and trailers and huge pickup trucks double parked and took all the spots. Luckily, I was able to squeeze next to a pickup truck although I had a large SUV myself. Only was able to sleep maybe a total of 3 or 4 hours. The WIFI in the room sucked. It didn't work at all. Informed front desk person and she said routers are located on 3rd floor and she can try resetting it, but that didn't help. We ended up using our data. Next morning, we went to the breakfast area and they let us bring the food to our room. Basic selection of items. Orange juice was really tasty. Egg was gross and bacon were all in small pieces. Back in the room while showering I noticed a lot of mildew on the bathroom walls. All around. At checkout I informed the front desk staff who said she was really sorry and gave me a 20% discount. She gave me a receipt that didn't indicate the discount. I didn't notice it until after we drove off, but I called her back and asked her to email me a correct receipt. She said she will. I didn't receive it so I called back and requested it again. They verified my email, but still didn't receive it. I have called back four time since and have yet to receive it. I don't think I will stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Staff are very friendly though. That's the best part of this hotel in my opinion. Still waiting for my receipt.......
"Staff"
Luse the head housekeeper happened to be at front desk when we walked in to the lobby- there was a small line of folks checking in or out. Luse actually turned around and looked at us and ever so gently and kindly said “welcome to the best western, I'm glad your here today, there is coffee here on the table for you and I'm glad to help you with any of your needs.” Sounded so meaningful like she meant it. We did need something - a small bit of milk for a blood sugar medication.Wow- she made it happen, no questions - she stepped in to help-on top of really making us feel truly welcomed. I have traveled and I never heard someone say it with such kindness in their voice. You have to try this place! Five is not enough for this employee- Kimberly on front desk was part of the team and very kind also.

"Nice visit"
Front desk and the whole staff was really helpful and friendly. Stayed there for three weeks. If you have any problems they would fix it as quick. Cleaning staff was respectful of your belongings when cleaned the room
"A decent BW property but . . ."
A recent three-night stay here on business was made difficult by the extremely poor wireless Internet connectivity. I was in Room 105 but have no idea where the access point was located. The connection was minimal at best, and generally was not stable enough to send emails with even small attachments. Repeatedly, the connection dropped, interfering with my ability to conduct business-related activities. Instead, I was forced to use my cellular data/mobile hot spot for most of my connectivity, which is not what I expect when a property states that HIGH SPEED INTERNET is available (free or not) as an amenity. Additionally, lighting in the room was exceptionally dim, and I was not inclined to open the windowshade because my room was adjacent to the sidewalk on A Street. Although noisy during the daytime, street traffic diminished at night. I also noticed, as I stepped into the shower each morning, that there was significant dirt in the carpet that rinsed off my feet.

"Very Nice Stay"
Great Location, good price, clean and friendly staff. Could hear a little bit of freeway noise but they provide earplugs if your a light sleeper. Breakfast had a good variety and the parking at this location was very good. Felt safe.
"Hayward BW"
Ok, several minor room issues that were survivable for the night. No elevators to upper floors if traveling with elderly or handicapped family members. The breakfast time starts at 7:30am, which was pretty late for us to have breakfast.
"celebrtion trip"
Like all the previous times I had stay in these hotel, I never had any issues, in fact I enjoy staying in these hotel, and is always a pleasure to see Ramona working in the breakfast room on the weekends. She is a nice hard working person always having clean the room and never running out of food.
"UNPROFESSIONAL HELP, SAD ROOMS AND UNDESIRABLES IN PARKING LOT"
In my opinion, this was my worst hotel stay in years. I tried to check in early (12:30 pm) and was told "no one checks in early." Mentioned I was a Diamond Select member and got a blank stare, then was told to "come back after 3." I noticed, from my experience, what appeared to be a possible "gang banger" wearing a hoody and sagging pants walking around the parking lot looking around like he was looking for someone. I returned at 2:30 pm and found the lot had one car parked there. It was occupied by the possible "gang banger" who was hanging around the lot at 12:30. Asked again about check in and was given room 120. Took my belongings to the room and found a paint cart and ladder set up for paining. The room wasn't ready for a guest. I returned to the front desk and explained to the clerk that that the room wasn't ready. She gave me a hand on the hip gesture and changed my room to 106. Should have known I had angered her as the room was possibly the worst in the hotel. Right next to the freeway off ramp and on a busy street. Loud cars, pedestrians looking in the window AND FREE EAR PLUGS. . . The room was old and worn out, definitely not a Best Western Plus. I cancelled my second night due to the poor room, noise and the $50 a night increase in room rent AND the $100.00 deposit for potential damages charged at checkin. I explained the problems experienced during my stay at check out and was promised a call from the owner or management. The call never came. Checked in to another name brand hotel one block away for $80.00 a night less WITH FREE friendly service and a nicer room.
"Phone.charger forgot in the room..employee who clean is not honest "
Forgot my phone charger and.went back to hotel but its already clean. I ask the front desk and told me.that they didntbsew any thing. The employee who.clean the room is not honest ..i believe she lied about coz how can I charge my phone at night if.i don't have a charger when I was.8n the hotel...i don't trust this hotel
"Good location for a quick trip to See Cal State East Bay"
I rely on these reviews to find good hotels so want to provide an accurate assessment. We needed a place to stay for a quick visit to visit Cal State East Bay. I had recently been to a renovated Best Western and thought it was a good value. Positives--room was very clean, I think the property has been updated. The front desk staff were great. Breakfast was great. Nice warm, clean room--typical selections and also sausages/eggs. I had a good value for the room. Also, it was only about 3 miles from the campus so an easy drive. However, it's right next to the freeway so can be very noisy (but they give you earplugs--nice touch!) and it's not the best area. Overall, if we were coming again, I would consider this location for a quick stay.
"Front Desk Employee's are Non professional"
Please re-train your employee's of proper guest handling of concerns and analyze individual guest reservations. Family drove for 4 hours to stay at this hotel and was told reservation was cancelled at 11pm. Used Points to pay the room & tax and Incidentals wasnt charged yet and is declining of course needed a valid credit card upon check-in otherwise it's best to charge guest using their points as it's a guaranteed reservation whether guest showed up or not and get a valid Credit card upon checkin for incidentals, for property will not loose anything on ADR. My family is checking-in and reservation was cancelled cause was told that credit card on file is declining. They have stayed same night at the same hotel paying the price using the same credit card was told declining. I dont know why no one tried to assist and investigate. Very unreasonable and unprofessional on guest concern handling. Front Desk named Stephanie was rude in explaining, which Listening is the first very most important thing in giving customer service and handling complaints. Night audit person at 6:30AM telling me she cant help me cause she is running the audit at that time. Call after her shift, I dont know if this was the usual practice. I am not a complainer and I love Bestwestern this is my first time experiencing this situation that is why I'm voicing out.I am really concerned this will happen again to other families. I hope management will look into-it and touch base on how to do proper guest handling and solve situations for every front desk employee from night audit to all shifts. If I-care is Bestwestern practice it should have been implemented.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear Valued Guest, We apologize for the inconvenience experienced at our property for this reservation. We did look into this matter and spoke with all parties involved. Each Best Western Branded hotel policy and procedures may vary but for us and reservations using guest rewards points there must be a valid credit card given to authorize for incidentals without valid card and authorization reservation would not be honored. During the process of night audit being run there is no access to the system so we cannot access any details until audit is complete. Again we are sad to hear we could not accommodate and satisfy your needs but we hope we are able to make things right for you in the future!
"Not a Happy New Year"
Our non-smoking reeked of smoked. We noted it when we checked in, but didn't complain. However, when we returned after midnight it was just as bad and it smell woke me up every hour. There was an industrial ashtray outside our door. The only way I would ever stay there again is: make it 100% non-smoking facility.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Hello Valued Guest, On behalf of the entire hotel and staff we would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. In the case of any issues or concerns please do not hesitate to inform our front desk staff so that we are able to give options that may better accommodate you and your needs. Our property is still one of the few that has smoking rooms on the outside of the building. We do have rooms inside the corridor upon availability and request we would be more than happy to accommodate your needs. We hope you give us a chance in the future to make things right for you.
"Good for the cost"
Good room for the rate. Try and get an inside corridor. Lots of construction guys in and out that can get loud for awhile, but usually calm down before to late. Great service from Lani, ok Metro restaurant right next door.

"A decent place"
Staff were very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean. the rooms had a slight odor, maybe it came from the carpet. The presentation of breakfast was not to bad. The internet was a bit slow but worked alright.

Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your feedback. we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay here at our property. We hope to see you again soon.
"Okay stay"
Hotel was undergoing remodeling or construction. Room was way too pricey! For the price I paid, I expected more. I stayed in a non-smoking room but because it was so close to the door and smoking rooms, it still smelled like smoke. The walls are super thin and you can hear every noise in the hall way, next rooms and people upstairs.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear Sherry, On behalf of the entire staff and hotel we would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations while staying here with us. if any issues or concerns with your room feel free to let our front desk staff know and we'd be more than happy to accommodate your needs. We hope to see you again in the future.
"Best Western Hayward CA"
Hotel located close to freeway. Hotel guest can hear the sounds of traffic because of close proximity to Freeway. However, the property provides guests with ear plugs to help dampen sound. Location is terrible.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear James, On behalf of the hotel and staff we apologize for not exceeding your expectations. We are located right next to the freeway and on a busy street so we do get a lot of the noise but upon request and availability we do have rooms with double pane windows or provide you with a room that is located away from the street and freeway side. We hope that you give us a chance to make things right for you in the future. Have a great day!
"As A Motor Lodge It Is Excellent"
This motel is a vintage 1970's/80's Motor Lodge style of motel. Offering close access to the freeway for weary travelers, it has gone through a very tasteful remodel over the past few years to keep up with today's standards. All aspects of the room were 5 stars: new mattress, quality bedding, a nice heavy padded side chair, and a new larger screen TV. The carpeting was like new, and the furnishings tastefully complimented the room. The pool and spa were well maintained and featured nice lounge furniture. The breakfast room was a pleasant surprise. It offered a well balanced breakfast menu, and had newspapers and TV news playing. The staff made terrific efforts here to see that the guests were happy, the dinning area clean, and fresh food replenished. I say all this because I felt that some of the previous reviews given on this motel do not match my experience. That said - this a traditional motor lodge style of motel, adjacent to a busy freeway. There will be slight traffic noise during rush hour. Some rooms have interior entry and others have an exterior entry. This motel will not give you the same experience as one of the new build Express type motel/hotel chains. But if what you want is a clean, safe place to stay for the night in the Oakland / Hayward area, this place will be a good choice.

Dear Keith W, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to see you again in the future. Have a great day!
"Nice"
It was a nice room however the check in staff was rude. Charged 200 deposit for two rooms and won't refund for 5 days. Breakfast was okay should have a higher quality or more variety. The check out staff was excellent and very helpful. Overall I would recommend only if want to stay and be charged for deposit

Our hotel has mandatory policy at check in ALL guest are to provide us with either debit or credit card to be authorized for $100.00 incidental hold. Its is not $200.00. After checkout the hold is released but depending on your bank can take 3-7 business days to see the credit to your account. After 7 days is funds have not been returned please call us at our offices and speak with management team we would be more than happy to assist. We hope you give us the chance to make things right for you in the future. Thank you
"bay trip"
a very nice and well run hotel near the bay area without the bay price, so if you are driving it is worth the savings, and if you head up into down town Hayward there are lots of food choices, close to FWY aces
"Great accomodations and well worth the money"
for price and quality this hotel is great - I will not stay at any hotel other than bestwestern - never disappointed - staff were very friendly, breakfast was equal quality. I have never been disappointed in any BW property that I have stayed at. Highly recommended for business
"One of the best"
This a hotel that exceeded my expectations every thing was on excellent working condition and the staff was very helpful at all times, they have a gated parking lot with an overnight security guard and that made me sleep a lot more comfortable because all the tools we were caring on our working trailer.
"Not too bad"
Overall the hotel wasn't bad. The staff was very nice and the continental breakfast is always a plus. I had two issues... the shower wasnt clean n the iron wasn't working properly. Overall I would come back if I was in the need to stay overnight in the Hayward area
"Don't plan on a good breakfast"
The scrambled eggs at this location are unlike anything I've ever tried to eat. This is a normal thing at the Hayward location as I stay there regularly because of it's location. I have mentioned that the eggs taste like cooking oil and salt at least twice. I am told they can do nothing about it. I'm not a terribly picky guy, having relied on MRE's on more than one occasion. The up side is they have hard boiled eggs.
"My time"
I like the hotel . During the trip I drove a 24' box truck, I found parking on the property in the back. I appreciate being able to park in a safe place, unobstructed.Tacos next door were great. I could stay there again
"Affordable but Cozy Inn near San Francisco"
I had planned for this weekends' get-away with my husband for a long time. But the hotel rates in the Bay Area is always a headache. After months of tiresome searching for an acceptable rates or award nights with the 5 most famous hotel chains, I decided to quit and tried luck with Best Western. Then I found the Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward. Just a few bucks above 100, right besides Interstate 880, with clean and comfortable rooms and helpful staff, I'm sure it's an ideal choice for average young couple like us who would like to hang-out around San Francisco for a lovely weekend.
"Great staff and good atmosphere."
This hotel is a little pricey for the weekend, but it's worth it for a get a way with the family to enjoy some fun time together. Swimming, hot tub, and exercise room. Rooms need upgrades, but food and staff are great.
"Clean rooms"
Clean room , requested early check in , they were busy , but had my room ready . Friendly staff . 3 rd floor rooms are the best quite . For the price this one of best motel in the area . Close to freeway
"It Has Improved"
I had stayed here before but not for years so I gave it another try. It is much improved. The house keeping was very good. Breakfast was pretty good. The wi fi was so so. I guess there was something going on in the area as this place was very crowded and their prices were very high. I'll look around a little more the next time I need a room in this area.
"Nice But Overpriced"
Check-in and out went smoothly. The room was nice and housekeeping did a very good job. The internet went from medium to very slow often and I was dropped a few times. Other than that I thought the price was very high for what I got and I'll be looking around at other places before I come back here. The noise is pretty high since it's very close to the freeway and a very busy street.
"GYM, POOL, SPA, Free Wifi and Breakfast!!"
For the price, cleanliness and the amenities you cant beat it. The place even had a small work out room we took advantage of. The staff where very helpful and all professional. We will stay here whenever we see our favorite team The Raiders!!
"Nice but overpriced"
Overall a good place to stay for a few days but price is high for what you get. Breakfast could be good if meats were not so over cooked. Pool and hot tub are nice but small and in a crowded area. House keepers were exceptionally good.
"Convenient but lacks."
Convenient location near highway. Rooms are noisy due to road near by. Also very noisy in select rooms. Stay away form rooms in pool area. As compared to Hotels in the immediate area its good. Compared to what you are paying - Below average.
"Good for a quick stopover"
Good for a no frills stay. It is well located to local stuff. I had the misfortune to book when there was something going on at the stadium, so the room rate was 2.5X the rate I usually pay for this hotel. But other local hotels were much higher than that, so I can't complain too much. My card has a bad chip in it, and every other Best Western will key the card in by hand, but these people refused to do that, even when the card is in my name, and I have photo ID. I had to use a different card, that is not linked to my company.
"Good Value"
This is a clean hotel. Staff is friendly and courteous. I stayed here once for a business trip. It's a good hotel for the money. I have stayed in more updated hotels recently and this particular one could use some updating. Otherwise, a good value.
"Comfortable stay in Alameda"
Great service and very clean rooms. Made our week long stay relaxing while attending my son's baseball tournaments. Location close to the 880 and the Livermore outlet stores. Will recommend this hotel to family and friends.
"Great value"
This hotel is right next to the freeway, so I was glad they provided ear plugs. It is noisy. It is also a great value however, and the staff is great. The rooms are mediocre. I was disappointed with the lack of HD, but this is a companywide issue and adds to the economy I suppose. They do have HBO so you can get your Movie fix.
"Made us feel at home!"
The front desk staff were extremely courteous and made us feel very welcomed the cleaning staff was friendly and it was an overall great stay i would definitely recommend this hotel . Great rates and free awsome breakfast buffet
"Nice facility, location no so great"
Clean, comfortable, large space but very small bathroom. Good selection of breakfast items. Price was high for the area of Hayward - just off the interstate, noisy and not a safe place to walk to restaurants or shops.
"Fire Alarm Broken 2 days in a Row!"
For something that's the rip off price of $250 a night, the least you could expect is that you would have a functioning fire alarm, right? Wrong! I could understand having an issue with the fire alarm on day 1, the girl at the front desk on day 1 was helpful and sincerely apologetic. She told me that maintenance would come in and fix it. I get back to my room after work and see that an alarm has been re-installed. Day 2: SAME PROBLEM. Meaning maintenance didn't do ANYTHING but re-install a broken fire alarm that doesn't turn off however many times you press it. If you love to wake up to an extremely loud, ear shattering beeps in the morning that you can't turn off, you found the right place. Stay elsewhere.
"Best Western Stay"
Throughout our travels we have stayed at many Best Westerns. Unfortunately our stay at this particular Hotel was not pleasant with the exception of the Staff they were Great. We are not giving up on staying at Best Western do to this last and first experience.
"Best place two spend night and share with friends."
The staff was quite help and cheerful. The only thing missing was a laundry rom. Besides thi all is well. The rooms extremely clean and all was in order and working well. Except the icemaker was slow and needs maintenance.
"no help in an emergecy situation if under 21"
my car broke down and I had to stay over in a strange town. Because I was not 21, I couldn't get a room even though I was a rewards member. I had to pay cash to a stranger to put it on a credit card for me. I am 19, what a humiliating situation to add to an already stressful situation. I was 12 hours from home.
"Clean hotel for a good price, right off the freeway"
There are very few hotels in the Bay Area that you can get for under $200/night. Best Western is always a good bet for a quality stay at a reasonable price. It's not a glamorous place to stay, and certainly there is a lot of freeway noise since 880 (one of the busiest freeways in the Bay Area) runs right behind the hotel. The staff of the hotel is aware of the fact that the freeway does not make for a restful night's sleep for many, so they leave a set of complimentary ear plugs by the bedside. This extra consideration for their guests was much appreciated after a long day of driving back from Nevada on a 100+ degree day. I slept like a little lamb. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and up-to-date, and (again) you'd be hard put to find a better price for that kind of quality anywhere in the Bay Area. Hayward itself is not a glamorous spot, but if you are in a pinch for a place to stay, I would recommend this hotel as a fine option for a quick stopover. Recommended.
"Friendly staff"
The staff was very helpful , had requested early check in , even they were full night before , when I check in the room was ready .requested a room in the main building away from main road .2 and 3 floor rooms
"best western plus hayward"
The hotel is located in a very convenient location. It is within 100 meters of the freeway and directly across from McDonald's and Costco. It has a pool and a jacuzzi. If you're planning to visit San Francisco, It is in a centralized location-it is within a 30-minute drive of San Francisco and San Jose. Instead of paying for hotels in San Francisco, stay here instead for about 1/3 of the price and it offers ample free parking. Best of all, the staffs are very accommodating and friendly and it offers free breakfast, which saves you a lot of $$$ if you're on a budget.

"Home away from home."
My husband and I stayed here for a week since I had stayed here previously a year ago and had a great experience. The staff were always friendly, yet professional. We requested a handicap accessible room which was wonderful. The entire property was clean and well maintained. It was invigorating to start each day with exercise in the clean exercise room. The pool and hot tub were a welcome relief at the end of a long day. The availability of a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker made it easy to prepare our light snack or dinner in the room. This was truly our "home away from home".

"Very Comfortable"
We were put in a very good room devoid of any smoking smell by Lani, the night time front desk manager that attended to us at check in. She was very accommodating and friendly. The room was spacious, quiet even if it is on the side of the interstate highway and you can hear the swishing sound of the vehicle driving by when you are outside of your room but that seems to quiet down once you're inside the room which seems to have a sound dampening windows. We slept soundly on the comfortable bed and quiet cool room. The breakfast was basic but was sumptuously good and filling. We would come back to this hotel again and would recommend this one to friends.

"Not good for business traveler"
Beware. Companies cannot purchase rooms for their employees on this location's website. The employee must pay in person. The staff is wonderful, but the management is lax in their responsibilities to resolve billing issues.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear Kymm, We do apologize you were not satisfied with your stay here at our hotel. we can assure you any issue brought to managements attention is addressed and handled in a timely manner. We do allow companies to book stays for their employees through our website. If company is paying for all room charges for the guest proper paperwork must be filled out and sent back to our property so that we have all information needed to ensure smooth check in for our guest. We hope to see you again in the future.
"Just ok"
As most of the other reviews state, the freeway is right of the backend of the hotel. So if you're a light sleeper this might not be the best place to stay. There is nothing much within walking distance, not that I'd suggest you walk around here at night. Staff is very nice and curtious. Continental breakfast is good with plenty of seating. My room had a two inch gap at the base of the door. I stayed in a room that didn't have double pane windows. If you just need place to crash, this will do.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at Best Western Plus Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear Keith O, Thank you for your feedback. Yes our property does tend to get some noise from the freeway and the street but we do have rooms with double pane windows that help drown out the noise. Upon request and availability we would be more than happy to accommodate your needs. We also provide complimentary ear plugs in the rooms for our light sleeping guest. We hope you stay with us again in the future.
"My stay"
All the people we dealt with were amazing and helpful. The nights we stay were good and pleasant. After we woke up and had a good breakfast we went out for a little bit in the morning and once we returned, room service had already come and cleaned our room. Super fast!
"Great"
Highly recommended. Everything was great. No complaints whatsoever. Fast internet, great breakfast, very clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Slept like a baby. Staff was very welcoming and really helpful.
"No go area"
I have always loved Best Western. But not this one. Absolutely disgusted. Non-smoking room was reeking of cigarettes smell. I thought that was all. Called the reception for toiletries and none was provided until I invoked my rewards membership privilege ,which was absurd.....Only then did a staff came running to my door. Observed that an area downstairs appeared to be secluded for guests of color; which blew my mind. Best Western management please extend diligent examination of this particular location, just to prove me wrong. I hope I am wrong please.

"Noisy by the Interstate"
Wife and I stayed here overnight to be close to Oakland International. Our room was quoted at $116 (base) and was windowed on the Interstate 880 side that kept us up repeatedly as traffic screeched and zoomed all night long. Not sure where BW gets the 'Plus' part for this place. It is absolutely not.

"Some what unsatisfied"
At checking they misinformed me about deposit and payment, my first room was smelly with a non flushing toilet. After I notified them they changed my room which solved the room problem but not the payment problem which almost caused me to overdraft.

"Not worth the money"
The entire hotel on the side that we were staying on smelled like weed. The noise level because of where we were at the hotel location is right by the freeway it is so loud all hours of the night it's very difficult to sleep.

"Best Western, A St., Hayward, CA"
No complaints. Easy entrance/exit and lots of parking spaces. All staff personnel and facilities excellent. Toilet/tub room was a little tight but adequate. Would have expected the street traffic noise to be a problem but it was not.

"Pleasant stay"
Rooms were clean and quiet, even though we were close to the freeway. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within fifteen minutes of many nice restaurants. Traffic in the San Francisco Bay area is horrific, so staying in Hayward is a good choice. We made one trip to and through San Francisco in mid morning, and suffered a two and a half hour return. Yuck! I recommend staying here.

Dear Dana L, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay here with us. We pride ourselves on customer service so that all guest are satisfied and want to come back and stay with us. Traffic can definitely get pretty heavy in the afternoon and approaching rush hour. The best way to travel to and from the San Francisco area is by Bart. Trains run every 10 to 15 minutes and avoid all traffic. Its about a 30 to 35 minute ride from Hayward to San Francisco on the Bart. The nearest Bart station is about 5 minutes away from our location. Please feel free to ask our front desk any additional questions you may have about the Bart system we are more than happy to help.Hope to see you again soon!
"Great place to stay"
This hotel might not be as fancy as some other hotels, but it has great beds, clean rooms, very good breakfast and the best staff you will ever come across. This place has become my home away from home when I travel for business to the bay area.

"Awesome Place To Stay"
We stay at this hotel every time we travel to the Raiders game or towards the bay area. The staff is awesome, we have never had any problems on any of our stays there. Everyone from the front desk to the house keepers are great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

I had requested an early check in , not only I was able check in early the front desk called me and let me know my room was ready . This is what I call going extra miles . And just want to say thank you

"Noise from high way starting 4am"
It says that the windows had been changed in their website. But the noise from high way still very lord starting from 4am. I can see the high way from my room. Other then that over all is is not too bad .
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear Stanley W, Guest satisfaction is very important to us. We apologize that we did not exceed your expectations. Rooms with windows that face toward our parking lot are a lot quieter than the ones that are on the street and freeway side. Not all rooms have the sound proof windows but if requested at check in we are more than happy to accommodate you upon availability. We hope that you give us another chance to make things right for you. Have a great day!
"9 days went too quickly "
I stayed for 9 days! Best continental breakfast with eggs and waffles and the best coffee. The housekeeping is superb....thanks to Lupe and Carman! Directory with good information available in room along with menu for quick delivery service. All amenities provided and kitchenette stocked with all needed cookware and utensils! My skin did not itch after contact with linen and towels. Wanted to extend my stay but room had already been booked. I had to go to another hotel??.
"great service"
last weekend it was our first time in the hotel...the great intelligent front desk name Luse was explained us everything and also she was able to find a non smoker room for my family...the service was great .The room was clean and big...last but not least the breakfast room lady Ramona she is the best ...thank you so much Luse and all the western inn crew ...I know for sure I will always stay there anytime I visit the Bay ...God Bless

"Not bad"
We stayed here for 3 nights, the first night we got in at like 2:30am, and there was someone there to check us in. The rooms are pretty basic hotel rooms, we were comfortable and slept good at night. I am not from the area, but the neighborhood did seem a little but sketchy. All in all it was great to accommodate our stay in the bay area. There is a main highway right beside this hotel, but the noise didn't affect our sleep at all.
BWHayward, Front Office Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Inn of Hayward, responded to this review
Dear Luc N, Thank you for your survey, your feedback on what you liked and did not like will help us to implement improvements to our property to better satisfy you and other guest in the future. Our front desk is open 24/7 for all guest assistance. We hope to see you again soon!
"Convenient location in Hayward"
As an alternative from San Francisco, we chose this hotel across the bay. Located next to I880, as a convenient point to travel both North, up to Napa or South to "silicon valley". The daily breakfast supplied was an offering each morning of cereal or eggs & Bacon or Sausages (on alternative mornings), with toast or waffle. The rooms are quite small compared to other Best Western Plus I've stayed in, if you have two Queen size beds, as we requested, because we had our daughter with us. The sleep quality was ok as the beds feel a bit 'lumpy' but was tolerable when you are tired. Over all I would still stay here if I am looking for a one or two nights stay in the neighbourhood. Be advised however, that on game days, whether its the Golden State Warriors or The Raiders, be prepared for some noise from fans staying here.

"My 3rd time staying here!!! Won't be my last!!"
I always pick this hotel when I come to Oakland. It's convenient, great prices, close to everything and my room is always clean. The free breakfast was great. It had eggs, sausage, waffles, etc! The pool and hot tube were open and it was great hanging out with the other guest!!

"Very comfortable"
The number one reason i stay here every time i visit the east bay area is comfort, cleanliness, and friendly staff, these are the top 3 reasons to stay anywhere, and Best Western Plus Hayward meets all 3. The breakfast is as good as it gets for continental breakfast, after along day at work, i enjoy coming to my clean room jump in the hot tuband enjoy a nice comfortable bed. The only reason i dont give it 5 stars is because the freeeway can be noisy if your room is on the freeway side. If you visit ask for a room away from the freeway, and havea good night

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your feedback. It is very important to us that all our guest are happy and satisfied with their stay at our property. Your right, unfortunately because we are so close to the freeway and also on a main street our rooms tend to get a lot of the noise. We do have rooms on our property that have soundproof windows. Upon request and availability we would be more than happy to accommodate your request. We hope to see you again soon.
"Great experience in Hayward"
The check in was great. Lina was fast and efficient and answered all our questions. She was great helping us out with making sure we could log on in the business centre to do our boarding passes for our flight the next day. The breakfast was nice. The rooms were very clean and we were right on a freeway exit, but couldn't hear the freeway from our room.

"Raider Nation Game"
I would like to commend Ramona on her professional courtesy during our stay. She was very pleasant and ensured there was fresh food every morning and didn't run out of anything. I would be staying here on our very next trip in December.

"Clean, comfortable and convenient"
Wanted to stay on peninsula side of bay but it was far too expensive. This hotel was a perfect compromise.... reasonable price and conveniently located for easy travel to peninsula (only two exits away from San Mateo Bridge) and San Francisco. Lots of amenities nearby and a very comfortable place to stay. I enjoyed a couple of days sunning and swimming at pool which although a bit cold was lovely and refreshing once in. Located right off the freeway, the windows were well sound-insulated and I enjoyed good sleep. Would definitely stay again.

"Ramona was so sweet! "
She made each breakfast delightful. Also our room was very clean. This was so nice given that my toddler had made things kind of messy. I felt comfortable staying here with my daughter. I'll stay here again.

"A nice stay"
We had two rooms and stayed four nights. The rooms were clean and nice. The location was great for us. Easy to get to and from San Francisco. The staff was friendly. They had a good hot breakfast. The price was reasonable for the area. If in the area again, we would stay again.

"Pleasant Experience"
Very friendly staff. So nice. Pleasant breakfast served in the dining area. You receive a real hot meal, along with option of pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. I have stayed at a best western over 10 times in the past 4 months and every time has been wonderful. Rooms clean.

"Run down motel, Stay Away !!"
This hotel is not a good quality hotel. Its a run down motel with a Best Western Logo. Hotel needs to be cleaned. Found roaches crawling in the room. Breakfast is cheap and breakfast area is crowded. Rooms are small and dark. Bathrooms are small and dirty and shower curtain has mold on it. Noise from fridge or light fixture won't let you sleep. Stay away from this motel.
"Great location"
Great location close to freeway. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had a wonderful hot breakfast that was included. The windows open which is nice to have some of the ocean breezes drift through the room.
"great location and service"
Lani is the best. Really helped with check in. The breakfast was super. Good location for my annual visit to Cal State Hayward. Hayward give the appearance of being sketchy but we fell safe at this location. Right off the freeway from SFO and OAK. Convenience is a big plus.
"Pleasant Stay"
We had a very good experience at this hotel. The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was provided and well stocked. The hotel was near the freeway but was quite and restful.
"FAITHFULL 22 YRS AMBUSHED DIVORCED 1ST SINGLE HOMESCALE"
SCALE 1 TO 10 DEFINATELEY 11 CLAUDIA housekeeping 5 STAR RAMONA continental Breakfast 5 STAR Pool Area very Clean Amenities with in walking distance every one was very friendly and courteous I will continuy to be A valuable customer THANK YOU you helped me through a very difficult time
"Hayward Best Western"
Overall a decent place that's kept clean and offers a great breakfast. Staff is friendly. Due to the location (next to a freeway off-ramp) noise can sometimes be a problem. The pool area is nice and very kid-friendly.
"Handy place to stay in Bay Area"
We needed a room for a business conference on short notice and this was an affordable option. It provided a comfortable bed an adequate breakfast. It is very handy to transportation into San Francisco and other Bay Area locations as it is only a few blocks from the Bart station and right off the 880 Freeway.
"Stay at BW Hayward"
The staff are very courteous and facility is very clean and décor is very good. My stay was very pleasant. The location was very easily accessible to from highway. It has a nice pool and hot tub which is bonus.
"Hayward Calif"
Hotel is pleasant and employees very friendly and helpful wanting to satisfy. Sadly, the noise level are too high due to how close to freeway on and off ramps with heavy traffic and emergency vehicles using sirens and nature of crimes in this city are higher than average. Breakfast was very acceptable and friendly helpful staff.
"Should not be a Best Western Plus"
The structure of this hotel with paper thin walls, hollow core doors, cheap tub, running toilets, slow internet, lobby computer that didn't work, pitiful access and parking make it torture to stay here. Calling it a dump is not unfair.
"Pleasant stay"
I was in Hayward to pick up my granddaughter from college. I found the hotel to be a decent distance from the college. The staff were really good. They were always pleasant and did whatever they could to make your stay more comfortable. I wish they had a selection of different pillows. I found mine to be a little too firm, but other than that, it was a good place to stay!
"Large, clean room and very comfortable beds"
Across the bay from San Fran and SFO airport (maybe 25 min drive away). Very close and convenient to I-880. Just a 100 yards or so. I chose this BW for the overall convenience of getting to the airport early in the morning. And across the street is a gas station for filling your car rental and a McDonalds for a quick breakfast. Room was quiet after 10pm and traffic on "A" street disappeared. I wanted to avoid being real close to the airport with the noise of jet takeoffs and landings.
"Excellent choice close to SF"
This is a very clean, new property just across the bay from SF. Excellent friendly service at the front desk, very clean and newly furnished rooms, above typical in breakfast buffet selections. Very convenient to I880.
"California Dreamin"
It was a toss up between very good and average I went with very good but I was leaning toward average because I expect more for the prices we have to pay!! Hotel rates keep going up but I feel that what we get for the money is quite right!! The taxes are a hole other issue!!!
"Great staff!!!"
Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Staff is very very nice and quite helpful. Tend to go out of their to help. However do NOT stay in a room at the back of the hotel if you are bothered by noise. Freeway runs directly behind hotel, which makes for great access but noisy at that end of the hotel.
"Clean, Convenient, and Great Value"
My wife and I stayed at this hotel one night prior to leaving California via the Oakland airport. This hotel was clean and convenient to the airport (about 8 miles away) with a very helpful/friendly staff as well as a nice breakfast with hot and cold food included in the price. The rooms were spacious and we appreciated that the bathroom sink was separated from the toilet/tub. Also, our standard room included a refrigerator and microwave which was helpful.
"Good staff"
This hotel is standard, you get what you would expect in terms of the room. Easily the best thing about this place is the staff, who were very helpful. The breakfast staff in particular was great, checking in on us and making sure everything went well throughout the morning (thanks Bella!).
"SURVEY"
The person at the desh was very accommodating, friendly, told me where a good place to eat aside from breakfast. the rooms are excellent, Clean and quiet even though its near the freeway .Parking is well lighted. overall the place is clean. I will be back
"Nice hotel in a lame area"
Clean hotel in bad area. Doing the best they can for a bad are in Hayward CA. Staff was friendly, room clean, internet ok (could be stronger) beds comfortable. Not a bad price considering the overpriced hotels just down the road which cost a lot more.
"This hotel tests my loyalty to Best Western"
We were given a room on the third floor that is access from the great outdoors, rather than from inside the hotel where most of the rooms are. The hotel is beside a major freeway so noise was really bad even when inside the room with door closed. Eventually resorted to stuffing kleenex in my ears to sleep. The bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room. To be fair they offered a room change but it was midnight by the time we got back from our family visit across town and didn't want to repack and move when we were exhausted. Even after leaving bathroom fan on for several hours smell was just as bad. Needless to say the chambermaid got no tip. The curtains were visibly filthy and were splashed with something gross. When we checked out the staff never apologized or even followed up despite "adding a note to file" about the cigarette smell. Bed was clean and comfortable though and breakfast was good.
"Great Experience"
This was our first time at this hotel and we were very pleased with the appearance of the hotel - the outstanding staff and the presentation of the room and breakfast items. The internet was great as well! We would definitely stay there again!
"Economical Lodging on the East Bay"
We went to the Berkeley Family Day and all the lodging in the area had jacked up their prices. I found this Best Western and booked it. The facility is clean and the rooms were fresh. We got in late so didn't have time to use the pool, it was small but functional. We had to leave at 7am on Saturday morning and their breakfast doesn't start until 7:30 on the weekends so we were disappointed - this is one of the reasons we book BW properties - hopefully they can correct this in the future. There is only one entrance to the hotel/parking which is right in front of the front desk so I felt more secure about my car overnight.
"Better than expected"
First I will say that the hotel has a lot of outside entrances, but about half are inside entrances. It is 100 yards from the highway but the room was not that noisy. Free WiFI was good and the TV channel selection was good. This was a business trip and I was there to shower and sleep. The room was fairly modern except the carpet and it was pretty clean too. I have no complaints. I did not eat the free breakfast but I heard there was hot food as well as the normal stuff.
"Only one night - went well"
I needed to be in the area for an early flight from Oakland the next morning. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and parking was not a hassle. The staff at the front desk (I believe her name was Lani) was friendly and helpful. ...I used the hot tub and workout room. The surrounding area did not offer much in the way of restaurants - really my only complaint.
"Friendly Staff, Clean Rooms!"
We selected this hotel for it's price and proximity to the Oakland Airport. It is just off the Nimitz Freeway so it can be noisy. The front desk staff were great and the rooms renovated and clean. Amenities are slim and the morning breakfast offering also slim, but adequate given the intended clientele. We would probably pay the extra price to stay a little closer to the Oakland Airport and to obtain a few more amenities. Overall, no complaints at all about this place.
"Great Choice!!"
Very friendly and helpful staff! The hotel was clean and well kept! Enjoyed having a breakfast waiting for us on site. Made it much easier to get going in the morning with the kids. We also felt very welcomed and enjoyed staying in a nice and safe feeling hotel! It was a solid choice for us staying there!
"Family trip"
It was great service and Ramona Padilla was friendly ?????? quiet hotel and enough parking. Free rollover bed and nice rooms. The continental breakfast was yummy and ash trays for smokers. Front desk accommodated to guests. Easy check in.
"Good customer service "
Stayed 3 nights had good night sleep. Only complain I have is making me initial 6 different places for incidental course. If I smoke in room is $100 or pets in room. Well I don't smoke nor have pets. Upon checking out I told the front desk please check my room for release of my $100 hold on my credit card and she said don't worry there is no charge. So why all these signatures when you don't check rooms upon check out. Lani provided a great customer service. Thanks Lani for your help.
"quiet hotel in noisy area"
This hotel looks very nice and is very clean but it is right next to freeway and very busy street. Had to go out of way to get to freeway although right next to it. Room was very clean and quiet and the breakfast was average. Good parking with large spots. Checkout had a wait because only one person working. Gas station and mc donalds across street but didnt feel safe walking there late at night. Overall good hotel for a quick stay.
"Excellent Staff"
Lani at the front desk is wonderful. She's helpful in answering your questions and checks in on you to make sure you are having a nice stay. The only reason I didn't rate this hotel higher is its proximity to the highway, but there is a sound barrier wall between the hotel and highway, so the noise isn't too bad.
"The Service"
I stay at this place twice a month for business. The place is convenient and is only 1 minute away from major intersection. The place is clean too. I am very delighted about the service that Lani, the receptionist, delivered. She always help me to find the best room I like.
"Hayward"
Excellent accessible room with a rolling shower and plenty of room qwertasdfgzxcvbyuiophjklnmqwertasdfgzxcbvbyuiophjklnm qwertasdfggzxcvbyuiophjklnmqwertasdfgzxcvbbyuiophjklnmqwertasdfgzxcvbyuiophjklnmqwertasdfgzxxccvvbbyuiuooolljhhnmqefssff
"Noisy, Smelly Poor food Hotel"
The rooms are very noisy from the buzy roads outside. not insulated well. The so called full breakfast was nothing more than a small continental breakfast with very few choses. the room had a bad smell and outdated.
"Great staff!"
I wish I had gotten the names of the two ladies who helped me. They were very friendly and professional. I checked in late and tired. The night lady was super helpful with finding a place to grab dinner. When I went to check out, I was struck by how genuinely nice the second lady was. Kudos on a great staff! The property is older, but well maintained. My room appeared to have been recently renovated and was well appointed. It was clean and quiet from other guest noise. I only have two minor gripes. First, there is a fair amount of traffic noise. Perhaps they will add thicker windows on the next round of renovations. Second, while wifi signal was strong, it required multiple re-logins. It seemed to kick me off every 10-20 minutes. Logging back in was easy, though. I would recommend this hotel and will look forward to staying again next time I'm in the area.
"Helpful Staff"
We spent 2 nights here recently and we found the hotel to be okay, but nothing spectacular. The room was big, and mostly clean, but the bed was way too soft for us. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. I would look elsewhere for a room if we should return.
"Enjoyed My stay"
Wish I could have taken the bed with me, bed was so comfortable! There was a few people stomping upstairs, but nothing unbearable. Enjoyed staying here, far enough away from the city and close enough to visit tourist attractions. Will come back if I'm ever in town.
"Nice and clean"
The place was very clean and breakfast variety was good. staff in General was very helpful. We liked our stay. The hotel is near a busy I 880 freeway so it is noisy. One should know this before booking. The heat was good and shower pressure was good. The toilet was old style and low type. Elevator was fast. Lots of parking. Only coffee machine was under the sink no space on sink the counter so moved it on the table. The Wi Fi was okay and was internet connection.
"A good nights sleep"
This hotel is very clean, quiet and comfy. We wanted to stay close to my jobs Christmas Party and this was perfect. It would have been excellent if they had a bigger place for breakfast. It was no where to sit and it remind me of a shelter. I grabbed coffee and that it.
"Family Vacation"
I love to stay on these hotel because the employees are very nice and I had never had a problem with my room or the cleanness of the room, except the WIFI slow. I will always consider my fist option these hotel I just hope the WIFI gets better, other than that thumps up for all your employees they are great people.
"Okayish"
Stayed with my family here whilst taking a trip to San Francisco. First impressions were that it looked run down a bit. Got into the room and it was spacious. They have a hairdryer and iron in there. They have a coffee machine under the wash basin which I thought would've been better by the microwave. The TV was nice and there was a list of channels in the hotel guide. The beds were big but not comfortable at all. The pillows were square which made it impossible to sleep on. Whatever happened to rectangle pillows. The hotel is right near a busy road so was very noisy. I recommend taking earplugs for those who are light sleepers. The bathroom is really tiny. The shower wasn't great as it wasn't detachable and adjustable. This should be looked into as some people don't like showers like that. Breakfast was ok. Not much choice though. They had bacon and eggs, bread, bagels, fruit juices, tea and coffee and cereal. I was disappointed that there weren't any potatoes as I'm vegetarian. Free wifi is there but it kept cutting out every few minutes and I had to log in again. It got annoying after a little while. Overall okayish stay for a budget hotel
"Family Stay for kids Football Play Offs"
Overall we were very satisfied with the stay. We got a room with the street below. A little noisy with traffic. The kids enjoyed themselves in the pool and hot tub. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was very well prepared and displayed. Breakfast staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and It was a very comfortable stay.
"Business Trip"
This is a basic Best Western, even though they call is a "Plus". The hotel condition is "tired". There was no fitness room available. Tried to use the lobby guest computer for printing my boarding passes, and was not able to complete the printing.
"Very Good"
Room was clean (smelled good) and comfortable. Fluffy pillows and nice sheets. Breakfast had a good selection and was tasty . Staff was very helpful and accommodating. There was traffic noise but not too bad
"Good to stay overnight"
Recently, I spent a couple of nights at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The stuff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. I did not had breakfast therefore, I can not say anything about it. All in all, I can absolute recommend this hotel as a good alternative to the more expensive hotels in the Bay Area.
"Good overnight spot"
Conveniently located directly off freeway. Not the best neighborhood but the hotel is secure. You have to drive to find food. Walking distance you only have a McDonald's and a taco shop. Good for overnight Bay Area stops.
"If you are visitng Hayward then this is a good stay!"
Nice staff, especially Gena and Destiney! The room was clean and very nice for a Best Western. They have a taxi service that they regularly use. I was thrilled at their recommendation. The driver was polite and drove with caution! The breakfast could use some biscuits and gravy. The eggs were dry and cold.
"Hospitable Staff That Cares"
I had a very comfortable stay at the Best Western of Hayward for 3 nights on business travel. The ladies at the front desk during the day were very courteous & hospitable. I recommend this property in addition for the price value & location convenience
"Best Western Hayward Californ"
I've been staying at this hotel weekly for over a year now. The rooms are comfortable, clean and roomy. The staff is always professional, very courteous and helpful even when it is extremely busy. Even though it is near the freeway, the noise level is very low and not disturbing.
"Comfortable Stay - Centrally Located"
Check-in was quick and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She directed me to a few restaurants, all which are walking distance just down the street. Also, there is a McDonald's across the street and a Mexican restaurant next door. Can't go wrong with a 7-11 a couple of blocks down! The room was very comfortable and modern and the hotel had a new type of remote control for the TV which could be cleaned easily in case the last person there was watching something on TV while engaging in extra-curriculars if you know what I mean. Finally, the breakfast was included and it was good with a selection of cereals, scrambled eggs, and fruit. Great hotel, although a bit pricey, although it seems like all of the hotels are pricey in Hayward.
"Bring Earplugs"
The property is clean, well maintained. It took a bit to get checked in, but not too long. I have never stayed at a "Plus" before. I thought "Plus" meant it had added features. Maybe a bit upscale. The room was spacious. We had a king room with space to walk around. The small bathroom vanity was in the room and the toilet and tub were in a very tiny room. You have to squeeze over next to the tub to close the door and watch your knees. The noise level in this hotel was almost comical. Our third floor room looked out over a busy street and the freeway. The traffic noise was constant all night. It was as if the window was open. The traffic noise was interrupted only by the noisy A/C, hallway conversation and the 3 times the highway patrol pulled over someone in the early morning hours in front of our room using the loud speaker. A rock hard bed and skimpy pillows added to an almost sleep-free night. Since we weren't going to get any sleep, we decided to get breakfast. We waited until 7:00 to head down only to find that the breakfast room doesn't open until 7:30 on weekends. It was a typical "free" breakfast with stations where people stood to wait for their food. This made the whole affair very difficult. People were standing in front of everything - the toaster, the waffle maker, the cereal, the coffee. In the end, I have no idea why this is a "Plus" hotel. Bring earplugs or a white noise machine.
"Excellent"
I love Best Westerns they always have friendly service great customer service. The staff is always helpful with anything I need. I try to always choose Best Western before any other hotel if the price is right they are always pretty comparable.
"Oakland CA Visit - Great Stay!"
The hotel was nice, the room nice, bed comfortable, friendly staff, breakfast was good, overall great place to stay. It's right of the high way and convenient for our trip. Despite the location, I would stay there again and I still would recommend it!
"Be aware before you book here"
This hotel is a motel. it is very old, room smelled terrible. pillows are as thick as couch cushions. it is noisy since your door faces the parking lot. avoid the breakfast at all cost. microwaved eggs were terrible. we went out to a cafe the next day. there was a huge spider in our room when we arrived. and very sketchy location. My daughter and I did not feel safe.
"Great Value Near Oakland Airport"
Whether you are in the East Bay area for business or pleasure, consider staying at the Best Western Inn of Hayward. They offer a variety of delicious breakfast items each day, and the property has an on-site, in-ground swimming pool and hot tub available for guests to use. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, as well as in the lobby.
"Road trip"
On the plus side - excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Good a/c. Decent breakfast. Easy drive to BART station. USA today in the am. Nice size room, very small sink area separate from shower. No space for stuff. Lighting okay, not great. No full size mirror. Hot water seemed to run out in the am. Good location for getting into San Francisco. To me, not a BW Plus. No nice little extras, shower supplies average. No 24 hour coffe in lobby. It was good for out purposes, but nothing special. Still have not figured out what a BW Plus is!
"NO!!!"
Loud. The freeway is right next to the room. At least this room is non smoking. Hair on the sink. Coffee maker etc under the sink next to bathroom. Outdoor entry is always a dead giveaway. Got in late otherwise I would have found a decent hotel. Yes the staff is nice. That's as good as it gets here. Never been to such a poor excuse for a Best Western. Very disappointed.
"Quite hotel just off the highway with free breakfast"
The hotel was clean there is a pool and free breakfast the price was good. There is noise from the highway however we couldn't hear it in the hotel room. The Bart is a couple of minutes Drive away. Parking there is $1.50. Within a very short walking distance is great Mexican takeaway/fast food place great food there. If you want a couple of beers there is a shop selling beer the other side of the highway, Macdonalds is across the road. Great for short stays.
"Best Western in Hayward Califormia"
We arrived Saturday night to get a room to go to Oakland Raider football game we had gone down the street to Day's Inn and it was disgusting. The night manager had someone one show three rooms to us to let us make sure that they were what we were looking for and they were that and more for price of 3 star hotel we were treated to 5 star super star treatment and the free hot breakfast was perfect before you go off to your adventures. I recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Oakland.
"freeway noise tip"
we stayed in 2 different rooms a few days apart. We found the first floor had less freeway noise than the top (3rd) floor. The freeway is elevated, right next to the hotel. It didn't bother us much in either case. Great helpful service, clean.
"Great Place"
Especially loved the breakfast! Good variety. Hot breakfast items. Friendly people- especially Bella. Thanks! Liked it. Beds were good. Location was good. Price was good. That's all I have to say about that.
"Why is this a Best Western Plus?"
First the good. The staff is remarkably friendly and helpful. It was easy to figure out how to hook up my laptop to the TV and stream movies. The room had all the basics: night stands with enough outlets; acceptable bed and pillows; a desk; refrigerator and microwave. Now the not so good. The floor was slanted. The ADA bathroom was scary. The bench in the shower was a fold down bench with wooden slats that were rotting. I didn't use it. The shower floor was slippery. Whenever I stepped off the small mat I wanted to reach for a bar, but there weren't enough bars. Immediately outside the shower, where a bar would really help, there was a towel rod. Apparently others besides me have reached for the towel bar to steady themselves: it's fittings were loose. The bathroom floor was daunting. It's tile, and it's slippery for wet feet. Plus it was slanted. And there weren't enough grab bars. So when I forgot my bath towel and had to get to the other side of the room to grab it, it was scary. The walkway to our room was also scary: a path of uneven flagstone. I always unplug the clock in hotel rooms and plug it in on the far side of the room. I couldn't move this clock: the cord was clipped to the wall. In a similar vein, I couldn't unhook the shower wand. The room was rundown. The refrigerator door didn't open all the way. The light switches in the bathroom were mismatched. The cupboard that served as a closet didn't close. Veering into the creepy: the last night we were there we returned to our room about 10:30 PM. At 10:38 we got a call saying there had been a computer glitch and all our info was gone so could I please give them the info again. It was a male voice. I'd just been in the office and a very kind woman was there. I refused to give out any info. The man asked if I't come down to the office. I refused. I said I'd be down in the morning and hung up. Creepy. The staff deserves to be working at an excellent hotel. I wish they were!
