Fantastic hotel right near Hamburg hbf so easy access to mid town. The neighbourhood can be a little confronting but we felt safe walking around. The staff at the hotel are exceptional and the room we had was very spacious and clean. Highly recommend staying here.

Ideally situated,10 minutes walk to main,Sbahn,central rail staion,5 minutes to bus station,Hamburg,s transport is cheap to use,no parking problems,and it runs mostly all night. The interior of the hotel is faultless,,staff 10/10,room service,great,clean,good tv,but limited English, We used this as a walking base for the city,then further afield,Excellent The breakfast was NOT included in our deluxe room,which was huge,with all modern ameneties. We felt the breakfast was grossly OVERPRICED,at 24 Euros each,so ate out locally,however,our last day was travelling and we pre booked it,Yes ,we had a splended choice,cold or cooked full,nothing missing here,except Black pudding.And as much as you wanted,so glad we tried it. Staff go one step further to help,as we can not speak German,patient,kind and understanding. It should be noted,the area out side ,locally is not the best to walk alone,unsavory caracters,following,people sleeping on all pavements,Gangs congregateing in,bushes along walk ways,there are lots other places in better areas,BUT far more expensive to stay,your choice,great hotel,great staff, keep in company ,day and night,we stayed in after 8.00pm.

Fantastic experience. We was upgraded to a superior room by one of your fabulous Receptionists, Tamara Werbelow. Tamara couldn't do enough for us and was very pleasant and made the stay so much more enjoyable. A total credit to your company. The room was wonderful. Brill air con, very modern room with coffee maker and pilot in bathroom digital radio. Lovely bar too and option to buy alchohol and soft drinks for room. 10 mins walk from Hamburg hbf. Absolutely cracking stay!!

About a 10-minute walk from Hamburg HBF. It can be a bit of a scrum getting out of the station, wow, busy. Yes, some street people along the way to the hotel but no problems. Check in was friendly and fast. We had a double bed junior suite room, 1 bedroom with door, separate living area with couch, work desk, coffee maker/tea, fridge, safe, sitting chairs and more. All good. Nice updated bathroom. King bed, decent blackout curtains, all good. Huge breakfast buffet, 22 Euros pp extra but worth it, after first day, ordered again. Very convenient services, bar in hotel, also beer in cooler and other stuff you can purchase and enjoy in your room and reasonable prices. Also, good location for self walking tour. Had a great stay would stay again if in Hamburg.

We booked a comfort plus room and because we did it quite early in advance, the price was amazing! The room was really big and we even had a great balcony! Most of the staff was really helpful, we had only an issue with being able to park our car on day 2 (a shame they can't keep your spot) and the first woman didnt really help but then a man in staff helped us really well with finding a new spot. Bathroom was tiny but really clean. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the hugeTv and the fast wifi. Very happy with my stay & will return. I appreciated the efficient staff. Staff super nice & helpful. The area is not the nicest, but I lived in HH and please do not worry, it's safe. It's also only a 19min walk to the central station.

The hotel was very comfortable and not too far from Hamburg Central train station (15-20min walk). The entry level has a lounge and a small bar, which looked very cosy. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was ample. The only thing we missed was a family room/suite for 2 adults and 2 teenagers.

The hotel did not inform that it is under restoration and the accessibility such as the provisional reception is not easy to find. The room was ok. Further the hotel is close to the railway station, but the location is negatively affected by traffic and very few restaurants and pubs.

The hotel is nice, staff is friendly and helpful. We asked for early check in, which they helped us with. Breakfast was really good. Only thing to complain about was the sound of the trans from the underground, which was pretty noisy.

Stayed here for a nearby conference, and was impressed by the old school charm and character. rooms clean and tidy, and shower good pressure, bed was acceptable, breakfast buffet style serves usual European spread which was ideal OK special thanks to front desk reception who were first class and assisted us with stored luggage without issue overall perfect for business Tip make sure you try the elevator it's truly an experience !

the hotel is nice inside and close to bus and train station., The entrance is not handicap asseable... I wanted to canceled the rest of my stay, but they would only offer 20% of the cost for the remaing days... Hotel is also above the subway, so you hear rhe rumble even on third floor....

We travelled by car from the UK stopping at various hotels in the course of our trip...this was by far the best. Spotlessly clean, great amenities and very helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hamburg...plus it's only a short walk to the water and a great bar on the lake.

Good value hotel close to downtown Hamburg. At first hotel appears “a bit old” in its appearance but everything is very clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful at all times. Located close to the central station the area the area towards downtown attracts some dubious crowd on the streets, mostly in daytime, however nothing that in anyway bothered us during our visit.

Location is good - just a 5-10 minutes from the central railwaystation and from streets with good restaurants. They have parking in their back yard. The reception staff was friendly and efficient. The room was nice and clean. Well working Wifi and AC, and a TV with CNN as english channel. The bathroom was clean with nice, huge bath towells and the shower had a good pressure. To pillows each. Kettle with coffee/tea possibilities and a well stocked mini-bar. Complimentary bottle of water. The room was cleaned every day which was very nice - most hotels seem to have stopped doing this on behalde of Covid-19. My only complaint is that there were some noise in our room which seemed to come from plumbing when other rooms used their shower (not a big problem).

Great Hotel - very handy for Underground and Subway. The rooms were spotless if not a little on the small size. Not sure the bedroom needs so many mirrors !! Staff in the bar very friendly especially Hussain who served us on Saturday night.

The hotel's location is very convenient: just a few minutes from the central station but quiet nonetheless. My room was large and very comfortable, the breakfast choice was large, varied and delicious. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I would definitely stay there again.

For the price we payed we had a nice room with bathroom and even a separate area with sofa and television and a tiny kitchen. I woke up a lot because of street noise and I guess there must be a metro line below the street because the room was shaking a bit every x minutes from the early morning on. Location is at 500m from the Hautbahnhof were a lot of connections are available.

The hotel offered the service and comfort you expect from Best Western. My girlfriend didn't feel safe along the street. The lively, parallel Steindamm street almost feels better. Our room faced the backyard, so it was quiet, but there's a rumble from the subway.

A short walk from the station - which has a train direct from the airport- will bring you to the Best Western. We walked, and as some people have pointed out, you do get to see all sorts of people, but no issues. A taxi is a cheap option from the station should you not wish to walk. The staff are all friendly and helpful, from checking in, through to helping with location and advice and offering great advice on which gin to have. We found the location to be ideal for what we wanted, no issues with housekeeping, our room was clean and well maintained, the battery was changed in the air con remote on our 2nd day and can't really say we noticed the subway noise up on the 3rd floor. The bar staff were efficient, polite and attentive, with a good manner about them, helping me choose which gin to go for. We didn't eat in the restaurant and we noticed that it was closed on Sunday evening - not sure if this was a one off or part of the Sunday trading laws in Hamburg ( nearly everywhere is closed ). Overall good accommodation and friendly staff for a reasonable price, what's not to like?

My experience is not 4 star quality but more like 2 star quality. Unfortunately housekeeping is lazy they has left room dirty with blood stains in towels. Cleaners should clean better or hire more positive professional cleaners if this is meant to be quality hotel. The lobby is new and the hotel seem to be quality hotel but the unclean room I got was not cleaned well. Room has air condition and water kettle it is plus. Location is behind the African shops and Turkish restaurants but walking distances to train station. Housekeeping should improve. I would like to give better points but can't because housekeeping is not good quality they forgot to clean.

We stayed at the Beat Western Plus - St. Raphael for an overnight visit to the city during Hamburg's Harbor Festival. The front desk staff were great and very eager to help in any way. The room was clean and adequate. The breakfast buffet was good, but I would suggest overpriced. The location is good - a 7 minute walk to the Central Station. Oddly, it seems as though the hotel sits directly above a subway line. Every 3-5 minutes there is a low rumble in the building as a subway train passes. Luckily the subway does not seem to run 24 hours a day.

The location is fine and walkable from Hamburg Hbf. The hotel itself is starting to feel a little run down, which hits you when you get in the lift. The rooms are on the smaller side of things, so a couple with baggage will find it hard. It is also right above an underground train line and next to a main road so that can impede your sleep quality a little.

We stayed at the hotel for a single night during a weekend trip to Hamborg. Parking in a gated area, very helpful staff and a clean, luxurious room. All in all a great experience. Only negative comment is that you can hear the underground trains (was our guess) 24 hours a day - like a low rumbling from afar every 5-10 minutes. A bit annoying at nighttime. We stayed at the 2nd floor, not sure if the problem is the same at higher floors.

This is a no frills 4 star hotel geared mainly to the business market, but fine for our needs, and we had no complaints or issues. WE did not need dinner here because there are so many restaurants within 10 mins walk, nor did we need breakfast because wherever we were going for the day had so many local cafés, so I cannot comment on the catering. Our room was compact (i.e. standard for Europe), but very clean, and quiet (at the back of the hotel), with a small fridge, a safe and a decent shower/toilet: some have commented on U bahn noise in a nearby tunnel, but it was pretty faint and we only noticed the rumble every 10 minute because the rest was so quiet. Not a problem. (and we live in a small town which is very quiet, so we are sensitive to noise) WE sought this out for the location....a 6 euro taxi fare to and from the main station when we had luggage, or a 10 minute walk otherwise. Mainline trains, U and S bahn trains at the station (which also has 3 supermarkets and numerous bakeries for rolls, croissants etc.). Ideal for an early start and a short walk back on tired little legs after a long day out. Helpful reception staff who speak good English. Nearby is the Arts and Crafts Museum, and many Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants......and some are excellent. The first few hundred yards from the station are a little grotty because many refugees hang out here, but there was absolutely no sense of threat (and there is a highly visible police presence). Alas main line stations' surroundings are usually a little soulless! The hotel had absolutely no security issues at all. So if you want a good location, this is a place to start.

We have stayed at St. Raphael 3-4 times earlier and always been unexpectedly satisfied. The hotel and staff did not disappoint us this time either. On the contrary. The room was newly renovated and well and modernly decorated. Good breakfast buffet. Cheap parking in the courtyard. Absolutely superb service from the front desk and Captain's Corner staff who served good drinks on the terrace in front of the hotel.

Lovely hotel with very nice restaurant. Food was beautiful, large portions & plenty of choice at breakfast, The bar was very pleasant to sit in and enjoy a drink or two. Good location also. Would recommend.

After getting this hotel as part of our package deal we were informed that it was a great hotel. This couldnt be further from the truth .whilst the rooms where clean and great air con the restaurant wasnt opened on a sunday evening, the staff were not helpful to us irish whilst asking for directions i got no answer at all and referred to a notice board without a smile I went to the bar for a glass of ice water and was charged 6euro. Def wont be staying in this hotel again

My girlfriend and I visited the hotel in November 2017, for a city break. The hotel is about 20 mins from the airport, which was around 25 euros in a taxi. The hotel is in an ideal location, with the Hamburg central train station being a 10 minute walk away, and the town hall Rathaus area a 15 minute walk. No need for a taxi, as the scenery on the walk is outstanding. View from the hotel looked out onto the main road, we were high enough up to have a decent view of the skyline. The rooms were great with a safe provided, great variety on the television in the room. Hotel bar open till late which suited us. The only disappointment would be the breakfast. We paid 17 euros each, for a basic buffet, with only around 3 options in terms of hot food. However coffee and tea was provided in ample amounts. Overall nice stay.

Stated a night in Hamburg at this Best Western hotel following a 3 night cruise on the QM2. Easy transfer from port to main rail station and then a short and very straightforward walk to hotel. Friendly reception team, stored bags while we wandered off, returned a little after 1500 to retrieve bags and access room - all very smooth. Pleasant, functional and clean room, good shower & bathroom. Asked for a recommendation for dinner (their restaurant was closed that evening) and went to a local Portuguese, Vasco da Gama's, reasonable meal at a decent price, save for the bottled water. Easy checkout from the hotel the following morning, back to rail station for simple 35 min trip to Hamburg airport. All-in-all a good stay in a lovely city - we will return, and to this hotel too, a good find and so easy for everywhere.

Nice small hotel with very convenient location. Clean rooms with adequate space. A bit oldfashioned overall. Very versatile breakfast, but a bit pricy one. Service pretty ok for german standards. Recommended.

The check-in was very smooth and the person at reception was nice and helpful. The restaurant personnel is the best,extremely respectuous and nice, food is OK. The room is nice, there is some noise if you're facing the main street, but not as much as you'd expect. Ask for a room facing the back (the parking) if you want more quiet. The only problem is that I couldn't see clearly from the booklets in the room if room service/ brekfast room service were available, probably not. But I'm not sure.

We had are flight cancelled due to snow so I rang up the hotel to ask for any information on changing dates later in the year was told not are problem you'll have to ask your travel insurance to cover it yes same sernrio you'll have to ask your hotel to rebook your dates but they won't so £550 lost and nothing to show for it,they'll take your money but won't help out in any way!!

This hotel is situated in 10min walk from main station; consequently, from the city center as well. Room was clean, but very small, room service is done perfectly. Value for money definately. In a nutshel this hotel convenient for tourists

Stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel is decent enough, it is not luxury but its clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and the room size was good, plus the free wifi is good. Breakfast however is not worth the €17 a day, can find suitable food in the many bakery shops around. The location is okay as its right near a bus terminal and train station, but the area at night seems a bit dodgy and seedy.

The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. However, the rooms are not very big, and the decor is old-fashioned. The hotel is also located not far from the main station, which can be practical if you travel by train, but the area that is definitely not great at night.

We had a three night stay here last weekend. Our room was spotless and the beds very comfy. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station, and as such isn't in such a desirable area and as is normal around a train station, there are a number of unsavoury characters. I felt OK walking around as I was with my husband, but would have been quite cautious had I been with a female friend. We had a room on the first floor and so there was some road noise and we could hear people on the pavement below. The buffet breakfast is more than adequate and the Reception staff very helpful. We were able to leave our luggage after checking out which is always a help and the safe in the room was free of charge. We had cause to complain due to very noisy Scottish women in the next room to ours, who thought is was OK to speak loudly at 2am, each night. A member of the hotel staff was asked to intervene, but to no avail. This, of course, is not the hotel's fault; you can never tell what your neighbours will be like!

Well, I generally like the places I stay. But there are sometimes exceptions. Like this one. The room they gave me was miniscule - but worse than that, it had a smell which would not go away. My plea to change the room or do something was unanswered, although the personnel acknowledged the problem. So I was forced to shorten my stay and leave earlier - and had to argue to receive the prepaid amount back. (!!!) I really hope they renovate and instruct their staff how to behave. The comparison with other hotels nearby is striking - and not to benefit of this place Avoid them, if you can

this hotel is really good and the rooms are in excellent condition. very well kept, very friendly staff and the breakfast is amazing. the beds are really comfortable and it is next to the main station where one can reach any part of the city either by bus or by train. worth a visit.

This hotel had everything we needed for our 2 night, one day look at Hamburg. It is possible to walk from the railway station - we didn't think we were ever going to get there but probably not much more than 1 km. The room was clean, bed comfortable, staff polite. We didn't eat there. Area was fine. Occasional rumbling from train underneath but this didn't worry us.

Rooms are extremely spacious and were cleaned (and hovered) everyday. The maid even left little sweets on the bed for us! The wardrobe was ok, a few hangers but there wasn't many drawers to store your clothes... everything needed to be hung up. Bathroom was of a good size. Kleenex toilet roll but no bathroom amenities. There was a fixed soap dispenser in the shower and next to the sink, but nothing else (like shampoo or conditioner etc) was available. We had a shower cap and 2 nail files on our last day. TV had English channels - BBC & CNN. safe was easy to use. We had a trouser press in the room but no iron & ironing board - I think if you asked at reception they would probably lend you an iron (but not too sure as we didn't need it). Air con was really quiet too. Breakfast was really expensive (€17pp) so we decided not to eat there but went to a bakery in the morning instead. Hotel is in an excellent location. 5mins walk to the main coach and train station. A McDonald's cafe is on the walk so you could get breakfast there instead. Very friendly staff. Would recommend and stay again!

We were accepted by the hotel at 4am. Although the check out time was 12:00 hrs the receptionist was kind enough to offer us 2 more hours. The location was good, clean rooms and for parking you need to pay extra.

it is almost well located,clean hotel with skilled staffs.i remained there solo four two nights .since my room was small,no coffee maker was there.i asked for and they brought it fast. breakfast was good.the staff were helpful.

Very disappointed. Rooms very basic and the views not good at all. However we appreciated the radio. No spa and no food served on Sundays. The area was very seedy but one plus was it took only 10 minutes to centre. It is not a 4 star hotel also to advertise views is not a good idea as I am used to great views of cities and this not one of them. There was never a manager on site and the only meal we did have there was expensive and not very good. So not a good stay overall.

Lovely hotel, clean room, fresh bedding and towels daily, very friendly helpful staff. A few minutes walk to city centre and train station. Excellent value for money, can't comment on food as we didn't eat in the hotel, but the restaurant looked very clean

A clean hotel with very nice staff. 9€ Parking a day in a closed area which was good. As someone mentioned before, the hotel is positioned above the U-bahn and the trains make some noise every 5 minutes or so. But the sound is not that high you can't sleep. It takes like 5-10 minutes to go to the shopping streets but the central station is like 5 minutes walk if you would like to go to for example St. Pauli with train.

We stayed here and the room was good, breakfast was also good however one huge disadvantage, the underground railway runs directly below the hotel so that gave you a rumble every few minutes. Don't know what it is like higher up in the hotel but we certainly heard it on the 3rd floor. Staff were nice but the service from the bar on one afternoon was terrible. We wanted to sit outside, the guy took us out there and the seats were covered in bird droppings and he didn't even bother to clean it. very disappointing all round.

Hotel is very nice and clean, it's only 5 min walking distance from main train station and bus station and 10 minutes by walk from city hall, quiet area, good size room with comfortable bed, lovely and helpful staff!

A nice clean hotel. The staff are also very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very well kept and the bathrooms are also a nice size. The location is quite good as central station is a 5 minute walk away whilst there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the vicinity of the train station too. This is a good base for a city break and has most bases covered.

I was very happy with my hotel room and the staff was very courteous. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The ac system also worked well. I would have given it 5 stars but the hotel is in a slightly sketchy area - not terrible but a little sketchy. Walking to the hotel from the train station and from the city center requires you to walk along about 2-3 gritty blocks. I had to step over or walk around a couple of sleeping drunks each morning/nights I was there. Ive been around much worse but just wanted to be honest on my feedback for those of you who don't like that type of environment. But if that doesn't bother you, a great hotel to stay at while in Hamburg.

We had a great time in Hamburg, and this hotel made an excellent base. Just a short walk from the main station or in the other direction an underground station. Reception sold us a one-day Hamburg card which gets you discounts on the open-topped bus tours (recommended) and covers underground travel too. Hotel was clean and modern, breakfast was tasty with a fine selection at the buffet.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights over new year. The location of the hotel was slightly too far away from where we wanted to go to (restaurants, shops, sightseeing) but i would suspect that this would be good for a business trip. took around 20/30 minutes to reach where we had planned to go to. Staff were good and the food we ate one evening was excellent. The little bar situated near the restaurants was great although wasn't staffed all of the time so sometimes you had to wait for a bartender but only a slight negative. It was good value for money but consider the walk into the centre!

This is a good hotel for business travel but wouldn't recommend as a holiday. It is clean, comfortable and convenient to get to the centre. Rooms are relatively small but do have a reasonably priced mini bar. Staff friendly.

The staff is friendly and the room was nice an clean with a Little sweet on the pillow every night. The size of the room was surprisingly big - perhaps they gave us an upgrade? And the bathroom was a bathtub was a pleasent surprise as well. The decor was a bit old school.

The hotel was located very near a main train station and Metro. Being first time visitors to Hamburg, we were pleased at how convenient it turned out to be for access to trains, metro and lots and lots of restaurants nearby. The front desk people were friendly and helpful from start to finish. Our room was compact, as expected in Europe, clean and well equipped. The shower was hot and strong, the bed comfortable, and all the amenities worked as hoped for. We had coffee, a safe, pants presser, and fridge. We felt it was a good choice and would stay here again - which I consider to be the real test.

The staff were friendly and helpful and were able to let us into our room early when we arrived. The room was clean with a comfortable firm bed with a small sofa, TV and minibar. The ensuite bathroom was good with a powerful shower. We didn't have breakfast and went to a local bakery which cost us €7 for two rather than €34. We were able to store our luggage here until we needed to leave. It is conveniently located about a 10 minute walk to the main station. A very pleasant stay.

The hotel was very reasonable and a good location. Coming from the airport I took the S Bahn to Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) and the hotel is literally 500metres from there. The hotel staff were lovely and the rooms were tidy, clean, comfortable and reasonable sized. In a city where you are going to be out of the room quite a bit, the room size doesn't really matter. The hotel does offer breakfast but we didn't avail. The hotel is in the St Georgi area which is a few metro stops from the Reeperbahn which is the heart of the social scene for younger travellers. We found this hotel and St Georgi was actually better for gay travellers.

We stayed here during a short visit to tour Hamburg. We drove and the hotel had nice secure on-site parking. The rooms were standard European rooms and very clean and comfortable. The subway/metro is about a five minute walk from the property and also close by is a fabulous Italian restaurant that the staff can guide you too. Recommended as a great value hotel.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff could not have been more helpful even after a mix up in the bookings found us 2 more rooms in an instant. Food on offer at breakfast time was plentiful and delicious. The hotel also has a rather nice bar area. The rooms are stylish and modern. The hotel itself is only a 5 minute walk from a large train station so is handy for getting about the city.

We stayed here this weekend for a short city break, it was an excellent stay. It is very convenient for the Hamburg Central Train station, literally a 10 minute walk. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even speaking in english (our German is very limited). The room was very well decorated and had all of the luxuries that you would expect from a Best Western hotel. The room wasn't overly large but was acceptable for what we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. we would certainly visit again.

Stayed for 3 nights during our first visit to Hamburg. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the station (we got a train from the airport to the central station which took about 25 mins). First impressions of the area - a bit rough at night. Had I been staying here with another female i wouldn't have liked to do the 10 minute walk into the city centre. The room was not ready until 3pm so we left our bags and went to explore the city. When we were able to check in we found the room fairly small but perfectly comfortable for a short stay and also clean. There was a walk in wardrobe and small fridge, trouser press, tea and coffee, complimentary chocolates and water. We were on the third floor (out of 5) and felt some vibration/noise from the u bahn but not enough to disturb us. The bathroom was small but again clean and there was no bath but the shower was nice and powerful. One tip - there is a hair drier however it cuts out after 5-10 minutes use then has to 'rest' before you can use it again. Having long, thick hair I found it a bit of a pain to use and in hindsight would have brought my own. We loved Hamburg and will be recommending it to friends and family. The transport system is great and there is a lot to see and do. We would recommend the Fish market and the chocolate museum where you get to make and take away your own chocolate. This hotel is a great place to use as a base and is a good average hotel and we would stay again.

Cheap parking in the hotel parking lot. Friendly staff. Nice and clean. Standard rooms are rather small but well furnished. Beds are fine and so is the bath room. Walking distance to the central station and pedestrian streets

The hotel is in a great location, it's easy to get to from the airport and you can walk or go on a short train journey to all the sights. The decor is very dated but the beds are really comfy and the rooms were very clean. It hasn't got the wow factor, but is great for a clean, comfy stay.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in the city of Hamburg. The hotel is in a great location - just a couple short blocks from the main train station and easily accessible by foot. The hotel staff greeted us warmly. Although we arrived well before check-in time, they allowed us to check in since there was a room ready! We booked a comfort double room, and it was so comfortable and spacious. There was a complimentary bottle of water, sweet treats on our pillows, and a hand-written welcome note. Aside from the small entryway and closet, there was a sleeping area with bed, nightstands and television, and then an additional sitting area with couch, desk, and television. Off of that area is the bathroom. For two adults, this amount of space in a European hotel felt luxurious. The furnishings were all new and well-kept. The bedding was comfortable, the towels were fluffy and large, and everything was clean. The hotel staff was helpful in answering all of our questions about the city, including restaurant recommendations. It was easy to travel from the hotel by walking to the metro or train station. We ate breakfast there one morning, and found it to be a good value for the convenience. The serving staff was friendly and quick to refill our coffee cups. Upon checkout, the hotel stored our luggage so that we could explore the city luggage-free on our last day. And they gave us each a chocolatey sweet before wishing us well on our travels. The Best Western St. Raphael is a perfect hotel in Hamburg, whether traveling for business, couples, or family, this hotel and its talented staff will meet all your needs. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The best way I can summarise is to say that nothing is particularly memorable and everything is "correct". The building is well maintained, rooms are comfortable, clean and offer everything you expect. If I were to return I would feel confident there would be no unpleasant surprises.

Nice hotel with a good value for Money. The bed was a bit hard. Very fresh and clean bathroom. Internet was a bit slow. The bar was typically German. If you travel for business, choose a hotel close to your next day appointment, since the traffic in Hamburg is terrible. Took me more than 1 hour to go 15 km.

I sumerize not great but good enough. The hotel is located at the very convenient area: only 10 mins-walk to hbf (the main station) and the city center to enjoy shopping, sightseeing and dining out although you might not feel too safe if you were a woman alone, walking around the hotel at night. The hotel itself was neat. The bathtab was huge and the sleeping quality was decent. The room was very clean and the breakfast was good and the staff was helpful.

The hotel itself is excellent: clean, nice staff, good breakfast. A few (approx 5) minutes to the Underground station to catch the train direction center and most of the attractions (direct train to Landungsbruecken or St. Pauli). I have made a mistake and reserved the smallest/cheapest room which was realy tiny (size of a bigger walk in closet). Therefore suggest to all traveller to be less stingy (he he) and take a larger room (standard?)

The décor of the room was classical but cozy. With the curtains closed, a comfy chair there plus a book and coffee and tea making facilities it made for a very cosy stay. Very well situated. The neighbourhood doesn't have the best reputation but it never bothered me. The choice of restaurants there is amazing. At Lange Reihe a good choice of bars too. The city of Hamburg is stretched out and there are very different neighbourhoods, from sleazy to chique. St. Georg really appealed to me. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the noise the ventilator makes in the bathroom, not relaxing when you take a bath. Staff were very friendly and I when in Hamburg I will return.

Very good located hotel in Hamburg. Near the station & underground and with excellent places to eat just round the corner (Lange Reihe). The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet.

Frontdesk staff was very helpful and kind. Also we had a large and comfortable room. The hotel is 15-20 minutes walk to city center and just few minutes walk to train station. In general, this is a nice & clean hotel for short stays.

We loved our stay in this hotel.. Walking distance form the main bus stop and train station. Minutes away from St Pauli by tube. The rooms are comfortable and clean with nice beds and great pillows, the staff are always willing to help and are more than happy to give advice. The rooms are a little small but should not put you off from staying here as it is not unbearable!

This is a good business hotel quite close to central station Hamburg. Friendly staff and nice beds. The breakfast was ok, common German type. neighbourhood is ok, very quiet. I can recommend this hotel.

The room is a little bit small.The staff is nice. The location is nice but a you feel a bit anxious since there are a lot of migrants around. But it's close to the train station and you reach to important points in the city on foot. The breakfast is very expensive though.

This hotel is located about equidistant between Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and Berliner Tor S-Bahn station, and almost opposite the ZOB (central bus station). The hotel itself is a little dated, especially in the reception area, lifts, stairwells and corridors. The room itself was alright, quite possibly been quite recently renovated. The bathroom in particular looked brand new. The room has all the usual things you'd expect - tea/coffee, TV, minibar, wardrobe, safe, etc. The bed was comfortable and I slept well both nights. Free wifi in the room. Staff were polite and helpful and spoke good German and English. There was one issue when my room safe refused to open - the Hausmeister came and opened it for me with no issues. Overall an acceptable base for exploring the city.

10min walk from the main station, 5 mins from the bus station and main station south on the u bahn. Very stylish inside, friendly staff and a generally nice hotel. The area you walk through to get to the hotel is not exactly beautiful but we didn't have any issues. The rooms are small and the beds come only as doubles - even though we requested a twin room. The bathroom is a fair size, good walk in wardrobe but there isn't room to pass each other when walking round the bed. I would use the hotel again as the price and location was good.

This was a nice hotel, close to Hamburg hbf train station. There is a "Real" supermarket accross the road & Lidl supermarket behind the hotel approx 500 m. The hotel room was comfortable, a bit on the dark side. Bed was comfortable. Both room & bathroom were clean. Water flow was good. Not the most modern bathroom but still nice. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We walked from the hotel to most attractions, the city was easy enough to navigate by foot. Docks area was a little further by foot, but as you passed attractions & stopped to look, you forgot about the distance. .

We stayed for two nights and was not disappointed. The location was perfect for the train station but not close to be disturbed by noise/traffic. We didn't eat here as there was so many different cuisine's in the area we had to try. Gorgeous little pub in the lounge. Room could of been a bit bigger but was adequate, mirrored furniture made it feel bigger. Bed was super comfy and bathroom sparkling clean. One negative point is the only English language TV channels were BBC business news and CNN, could of done with couple more. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a smart hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Unfortunately our stay was blighted by an awful smell from the drains which was very unpleasant. We mentioned it to the staff but nothing was done. I wouldn't say it ruined our weekend in Hamburg but having to open the window for 10 minutes when it's near freezing wasn't good.

Clkean rooms, we had fairly small room but it was ok. What was terrible was the fact I had to wait 10 minutes for a beer. She made it, walked away for 2 minutes, refilles it and walked away again, another top up and walked away. Anoying. I told her, does it really need to take 10 minutes? She ignored me and did the serving extremely slow.

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel and was awful. We received a room for Smoking people. When we did the reservation we did not have any option to choose a non-smoking room. I needed to call twice the reception to ask if they can change the room. The answer was that I need to pay extra and they cannot help me! Very unpolite and careless personal! When I arrived home, ALL my clothes (including Pyjama) were smelling like smoke! Unbelievable! It never happened to me. So, please be careful when you make a reservation at this 4 stars hotel because I had a bad experience! :(

Lovely hotel, friendly staff near to city centre 10 minute walk, rooms very clean comfortable and spacious, had new years buffet meal and well worth the money spoilt for choice, wonderful city with beautiful atmosphere and architecture, overall a relaxing 5 days, the only disappointment was that the german Xmas markets ended on new years eve so if wanting to see them make sure you book prior to that

Maybe it was the time of year but every hotel I researched seemed quite cheap... I picked this because of the central location and I had stayed at a BW before without issues. This hotel did have the feel of the 1970's about it although staff were polite freindly and facilities clean. I sat in the tiny hotel bar for an hour or so which was empty but pleasant enough. The room was spotless and bathroom lovely and cosy.. I would probably try another hotel next time only because of the variety on offer.. Nothing bad about this hotel... But nothing amazing either.. Good location though.

We stayed here for one night. It's located very close to the central train station - within easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and made check in and check out very easy. The room was really nice. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. We would stay here again.

I love this hotel. So convenient to St. Pauli and the area is nice. Every time I visit Hamburg this is where I stay. Rooms are tiny but I only use it to shower and sleep. I never even turn on the TV when I stay.

I stayed here1 night with my wife (they were full for the weekend so we had to move to another hotel). It is near the Main Train Station. Although there was renovation work going on, we were comfortable. Especially the breakfast menu is rich and nice.

I stayed for couple of nights with family and we got interconnected spacious rooms . Locations very close to main station. Breakfast is having good variety. Only problem is there is no ramp at the entrance in the hotel and when you have luggage you have to lift it up up to the reception .as you can't carry it by wheels. They should look into this. Internet was free and with good quality.

Was staying there for 3 nights in single room. Very nice hotel on very good location, only 5 minutes walk from central station! Friendly and polite stuff, clean and good sized rooms, wifi free and available in all areas! Recommended and probably would stay there again!

I just came back from a trip in Hamburg , i stay at the hotel four nights but my company made the mistake to reserve a single room....Singles rooms at this hotel are so tiny that 1st i heart my back in the TV set 2nd you couldn't walk 3d you couldn't see TV when lying on the bed because it is very near and you see everythink black. But the worst was the closest 3 shirts one blouse and it was full!!!!

We stayed at St. Raphael 5 times, and it has always been a pleasure. Nice a friendly staff, good a clean rooms, with comfortable beds, great breakfast Parking in the street or the hotels own parking space behind the hotel

Very good hotel , the room was very comfortable and very clean , the food was very good ,the connection with the hotel staf was very good ,close to central bus station and central train station , a lot of parking space

This hotel is not in St Georg, it's a ten minute walk from there, through a not great neighbourhood! It's five mins from the train station though, which makes finding it easy. The rooms are safe but really clean, especially the bathrooms, which look brand new! Nothing else in the hotel is remarkable, the reception & restaurants are tired & stuck in a time warp. To get to the business area of Hamburg you need to walk past the station every time, which is not a great area of such a nice city.

I was here two days: the hotel is ok maybe a little bit old. It's in the St.Georg area: in this period the area is full of immigrant. The room was ok but with a strange smell, probably a no polite client smoked in. Advantage: near the train station and 10 minute walk from the center. The breakfast was huge

Stayed here for 2 nights. it is in a good location right near the hauptbahnhof which is very convenient. it is about a 5-10min walk from the train station but easily accessible. The staff were nice. Only downside the room was quite small and the noise was loud outside as we were only on the first floor. Walking back late at night can be a little bit scary because there are Sudanese people everywhere and they can be a bit intimidating. No real issues though just something to note down.

Nice hotel, in a good location. Breakfast was super. Nice staff, and you can buy different kinds on tickets at the reception. Hotel was quiet and we were able to relax well. Not a long way to metro and train station, short walking distance. Wi-fi worked well.
