If you're expecting a proper hotel, with a restaurant, and decent facilities, try somewhere else. The Manor Hotel is nothing more than an expensive Travelodge these days. Such a shame, when it used to be a lovely place, and used to be my first choice.
Had a lovely stay here for a wedding reception nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. Especially Shel. I found all my questions were answered and everyone was more than helpful and responded to requests for help. My stay couldn't have been made any better other than if there was a welcome drink (lol)
I booked this hotel last minute for my partners belated birthday celebration. We arrived within 10 minutes of booking and let's just say… we were treated like royalty. The hotel is perfect and this is why: Secure parking Friendly and professional staff who are EXPERIENCED in hospitality Food is gorgeous Room is beautiful with a giant bed Shower is heaven! There is so much to say but NO WORDS can explain how we were treated !! We felt like family. Like old friends. Even tho we were strangers. We CANNOT recommend highly enough and can't wait to return.
We had a good stay here. The welcome was warm and helpful. The hotel was a bit of a rabbit warren and the decor was dated but our room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. We had no complaints at all. The WiFi worked well. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. The lady at checkout was very friendly. I'd definitely stay again.
Very friendly and helpful staff at reception, secured gated parking, tidy room with basic amenities.
Every aspect of my stay was very good. The staff were friendly and professional. I was welcomed by Peter, who made me feel like family.
I would give it 11 out of 10 if I could. Fell upon this by sheer luck and ended up staying 4 nights instead of 1, we were so comfortable. Can't understand some of the negative comments on the reviews. The staff are incredible, hardworking, happy, friendly, anything you want they will try and accommodate you, always someone available day and night, really flexible to special requests and caring regarding special diets. They make it like a home from home and the level of customer service is something that is very rare these days. They found me a room with a microwave when I told them on check in that I travel with my own food due to dietary restrictions. Our room was spacious and had every amenity you could think of, bed was comfortable, big soft thick towels. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Lounge area really homely, warm and cosy. Very good breakfast options, pub type menu available to order until about 9pm with some good quality hot food and gluten free options. Really good bar and service. Free tea and coffee 24 hour self service machine plus hot and cold water dispenser. Very good security both building and car park. Residents only hotel so always plenty of tables in lounge/restaurant and no need to worry about who might be coming into the hotel/restaurant. Most of the hotel including the lounge/restaurant has had a refurb/makeover/redecoration. A big personal thanks to all the staff for being so helpful to me during our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend. Easy to find and access and plenty of free secure parking. Very fairly priced and good value for money.
Outstanding service from the manager Peter, with similar high service from waitress Kay. Added to which the food was delicious - something you don't hear too often about hotels. And as you're asking we had, Toad in the Hole with fresh vegetables, followed by Pavlova & fruit berries. Yes really. Also, 24/7 coffee & tea available during your stay. First time we have stayed in this hotel, or its parent group Best Western , & we will look out for it again. An exceptionally good hotel stay ,with large, comfy room, good food & just off the motorway .
It was the first time I stayed at Manor Hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised. Received a walm welcome upon arrival with everything ready. Will definitely return when in the area again. Thank-you!
Spent two nights while attending family funeral. Room ok, though bits of rubbish on bathroom floor. Friday breakfast lovely and funeral wake tea in afternoon was stupendous. However, our room was never cleaned, so we returned to our dirty cups and no coffee etc. Saturday morning breakfast was lacking fresh melon and adequate choice. Even had to make our own tea unlike on Friday.. Staff very friendly and obviously local so helped with directions to crematorium.
Another brilliant, happy stay at the Manor. The newly decorated bedrooms with complete new bathrooms are looking very impressive and the corridor down to rooms looks brilliant. Looking forward to a visit when all work completed. As always, friendly staff and good food. Thanks to all for a happy few days.
Excellent service, reception very welcoming on arrival and when returning after a day out. Keen to point out the complimentary teas, coffee machine in reception. Room we felt was a little dated, but comfortable and spacious.
This hotel was a great stay the only bad thing I could say is that the breakfast was priced a little to high and the internet was great when we could connect to it, but the staff was amazing answer all our question and made us feel welcome, if it wasn't for the high priced breakfast and bad internet I would rate the hotel a 5 star
I would rate this hotel a 3 normally, however, the staff are fantastic and for that alone it deserves a 4. The lady on Reception was so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to be helpful. The food was nice too and I liked the water and coffee machine. The downstairs restaurant and bar area was nicely decorated. The only thing that let the hotel down was that the bedroom decor was a bit shabby. The room was clean and big and the bed was comfortable. A fair price for what you get.
Arriving from Scotland for a wedding and there is nothing Michelle couldn't sort for us , on arrival we were met by Kay who was also just outstanding , kind , welcoming friendly and great with our two kids , the service provided was just amazing , everyone in the team knew how to make the stay easy and comforting , I would % 110 stay here again . Thankyou
I had a booking in another hotel in Gravesend, which unfortunately was not as expected. I called Kay at the Best Western and from the initial call to check out- Kay & the team at the manor hotel were absolutely brilliant. We had 4 rooms ready within an hour, we felt relieved to arrive to a secure facility (resident only access), private free parking and welcoming accommodation. The offering of food & drinks were great and we relaxed in comfortable seating/dining areas with the group of friends we visited with. I cannot rate this place enough, the rooms we stayed in were clean, comfortable, spacious and modern I personally could not have asked for more. We booked a family room/ triple there was more than enough room for 3 and good storage. All rooms on the ground floor where we stayed were lovely. I will recommend to you & others
When we arrived at the hotel at 3.30 in the afternoon it was completed shut up without a single light on in the reception area. After pressing the bell several times someone came and let us in. The lounge bar and eating area remained unlit so we could not use it. The rooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water but they looked as though they could do with a face lift and furniture and carpet replacement to bring them into the 21 st century. We went out for our evening meal.
Good sized carpark which is safe and secure, check in was speedy and I requested a high floor and that's what I received. Nice sized bedroom and reasonable bar/ restaurant area with a basic menu. Service good and the breakfast was cooked to order. The one thing that lets this place down is the phone signal and poor internet.
This was my first time staying at this chain of hotels and I was very happy with the staff who were helpful, friendly and courteous. My room on arrival was very clean as was the lounge and surrounding areas. Home from home
Stayed for 2 nights whilst on business in Gravesend. Nice comfortable room (upgraded to a suite which was v nice). Extremely friendly staff who thought nothing of going above & beyond. My default place of choice for Gravesend now…
We stayed in room 101! The room was great for a family - very spacious and very clean with proper beds for the children unlike some hotels which have bed settees. The staff were amazing! One person covers reception, the bar and food yet there was no wait and nothing was too much trouble. Overall a great stay- we will be back. P.s your staff need a raise!
This hotel wasn't awful but certain things definitely weren't great. The room was very old fashioned but luckily very clean. The car park felt very secure. The soap dispenser in the shower didn't work and also the toilet didn't flush easily, had to lift it up and push multiple times. Paid extra for a breakfast however it really wasn't great. Soft chewy hash brown and a hard dry fried egg. Coffee had a weird taste to it too. However it was really hot so that's good, the sausages were nice also. Check in and out was super easy though and had no other issues, just think I was unlucky with the room I was given.
Lovely and friendly staff , and felt very secure in the car park and the hotel itself. Very clean and lovely bathrooms with a fab shower. It was a very enjoyable stay as i travel frequently and like a home from home experience.
A great hotel in an ideal location. This hotel is run by a staff that cares. Each and every staff member I dealt with was professional, personable and demonstrated the highest standards of customer service, making our stay thoroughly enjoyable. We will certainly book again
Filipino love this hotel. From bed to food. Awesome. A 4start for me . Hope that others find this hotel . Easly access. Near the expressway. Have a very lovely staff. Threat us like family . Hopefully to comeback soon.
Brilliant service from friendly and welcoming staff with super clean facilities throughout the hotel, delicious food served daily with a wide range to choose from. Beds are very comfortable to sleep in plus a modern outlook in the room with facilities to accommodate your needs on your stay, would highly recommend the Best Western Manor Hotel for anyone looking for somewhere to stay!
Felt very blessed to stay in this beautiful place , best hospitality, lovely staff - Ms Shell, Sally, Danielle, Paul, have made our stay very peaceful, positivity at next level , given us a feeling of our home and are just like our family ,we loved this place because of them , amazing food , beautiful rooms ❤
Thanks from all the family to the team at the Manor Hotel. On 1st November, we arranged to have a funeral tea held at the hotel and they did us proud on this very sad occasion. Good food, good service, plenty of room and space. For the left-over food, boxes were supplied for take away without us even asking. We honestly could not fault them. This was my first visit to the hotel since before the original Covid lockdown and the controls now in place are just right without being too rigid. I stayed for a few nights to visit with family and friends and it did feel like returning home. Friendly and helpful staff from time of booking to time of leaving. Nothing was too much trouble. I look forward to my next stay.
Had the pleasure of staying here, excellent staff that cant do enough for you..... Stay here again? 100%yes Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff who go that extra mile in customer satisfaction
Have used this hotel on a number of occasions always been happy with the service Friendly and helpful staff Great access to main road network Secure free onsite parking Hotel has been refurbished recently Ive stayed in a number of different rooms all have been a decent size and clean Will be back again
Attended Brands Hatch over weekend and found this hotel purely by chance. What a find!! Staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room and hotel were very clean and organised. Onsite, free parking was excellent. Food was very, very good indeed. I only have one arm and walk with a crutch but the staff made sure I never had to struggle with anything. Dave behind the bar after 10pm was especially helpful in ensuring mine and my son's stay was enjoyable. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of all the staff but the way we were treated you would have thought we were regulars who stayed there every week. I have stayed in 4 star hotels many times and some of them were nowhere near as good as this little 3 star. Will certainly be stopping here again next year whilst attending British Superbikes at Brands Hatch.
The food was excellent and the staff Chell, Danielle,Kay was so helpful and made my stay so much more comfortable there was nothing I could fault them on I would highly recommend going back and staying for a weekend.
Excellent service and extremely clean rooms which alleviated and worry we had about the COVID-19 problems Good breakfast service which was accompanied by made to order eggs and bacon if wished. All of the staff we met made us extremely welcome and were totally attentive to any requests we had.. There is a lot to be said for a family run business and this one deserves to be kept busy Thank You for your excellent service team
In these times where we are so restricted the staff here are totally tuned in to provide the sort of service that is needed and are very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself has recently been refurbished and it is a very nice place to visit so if you are coming to Kent to have a look round or you're here for business it's great.
Spotless. Friendly. Professional. I enjoyed a very safe stay here recently with all Covid compliance very apparent and in place. The hotel was spotless and I felt very protected by the measures they have in place. The charming lady on check-in made me feel very welcome and explained how my stay wound work - wear a mask, food pick up point and grab breakfast etc. She went out or my way to meet my dietary needs and all with a warmth and a smile - even behind her mask. I was offered advance check in, contactless payment and QR codes for guest room info. All in all a fantastic stay and just 2 minutes from the motorway. Without doubt I will return.
Our room was a good size and lovely and clean. Bathroom could do with updating, especially to get rid of shower curtain but nonetheless it was clean. Staff could not have been more helpful and certainly went out of their way to accommodate any requests we had. Bar is in what feels like the reception area so we didn't enjoy having a drink there. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of hot and cold foods. We'd certainly stay here again and we'll done to all staff for making our stay a very pleasant one.
Stayed here last year and then they did not have a restaurant to eat in the evening but they have now redesigned the reception area and now includes a bar. Despite the double doors leading in the reception area needs more heating as it was always very cool and did morph entice me to sit and enjoy the £5.50 pint of beer (expensive). The food was great in the restaurant and served in a good hot reasonable time. Rooms nice but my radiator was not putting out hardly any heat but reception did provide a fan heater. Stayed also for breakfast which again was good and a good choice. Despite the negatives I will stay again when in the area on business.
I went in for a meeting, went through the double doors, a man checking into the hotel on right, i went to the nearest person to ask where to go. three other members of staff behind the bar, one of which decides to shout at me to use the antibacterial lotion, whilst I was still talking to the initial person. i say yes but where is it, 3 people! show me to where a tiny dispenser is, that looks like an air freshener, a 4th person (who is behind reception already dealing with the man checking in) also shouts out ‘its for coronavirus!' - like i'm stupid... i know what they are doing and why. her comment was totally unnecessary especially as she interrupted dealing with her customer to shout this at me. when i used it i got told I could now stay and pay to have a drink in their reception area, ohhh goodie after being made to feel this way of course i do.... after using the antibac I really want to touch money in my purse and listen to you shout at other people across the reception area, it's ok! my ‘issue' is: have clear signage up so guests entering know it's there, don't act ‘accusatory' in dealing with guests and one person at a time ... 3 people is over zealous, the initial member of staff could have easily dealt with the whole situation without other members of staff butting in. the woman standing at the end of the bar who I initially spoke to, would have been better placed at the other end near the entrance door to politely with a smile and good tone (not like the others that shouted at me) to let incoming guests know the air freshener looking machine (which you can't see when someone is checking in) is actually an antibac dispenser if they'd like to use. Finally ‘tone' you can say lots of things in a strong and assertive manner, it's not by shouting, i know the hotel will say they weren't, but if it's louder than what a person would use in a normal person to person conversation in my opinion it's shouting. needless to say I didn't want to pay and have a drink in the reception area! and I cancelled my meeting. I'll ensure I don't come back, which I'm sure you'll be pleased with. for info: I had antibac that I had used in my car and would have used yours on entry without being asked to the hotel IF i had been made aware by a note that i could see on the trellis as you walk in that it was there!
We were staying at the hotel to attend a funeral & the staff made our stay a little bit easier due to their kindness & lovely gestures. The hotel itself was amazing, was very tempted to stay another night
All the staff at this hotel are brilliant, but the management and staff went above and beyond to ensure that the conference I had staying at this hotel were comfortable, looked after and happy. We were always greeted with a smile, were checked to make sure all arrangements were ok and kept on top of the activities my group would be taking part in to ensure they had adequate staff on. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism at this hotel and will be using them again. The front of house has just undergone a complete remodel, which makes the hotel more open and inviting.
This place is an ideal stop if travelling down the M2. The food was OK. The general room was OK. Issues with the heating and hot water in the shower but otherwise all was fine. Clean and tidy so I will stay again.
We visited Manor hotel to stay at after my husbands works party. Our room was above my expectations. Everything in the hotel was very clean and fresh. We enjoyed a drink at the bar before the event and were met with a very friendly reception from the bar man and when with chatting the receptionists getting ready for the party later on. Breakfast was buffet style and again the staff were so very friendly. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We have stayed more than a dozen times. We always get a warm welcome. The rooms are comfortable and good value for money. The breakfast always tasty. Staff are polite, friendly and very helpful. We've stayed when it's been full and stayed when we have been the only guests, service always top notch, , thank you
We chose Manor Hotel as it was well placed for both of the places we had come to see and it has a restaurant. It is easily accessible from the A2 with plenty of parking space. The room was a good size and clean with a comfortable bed with en suite. The restaurant menu has plenty of options to choose from and the Cabernet merlot wine we chose was delicious. We both had an excellent meal served by very nice staff in very pleasant surroundings. The breakfast was also very good with a plentiful selection of food including full English, cereals, fruit and patisseries.
A clean comfortable hotel, approachable friendly staff. Good waitress service at breakfast and dinner. Didnt like getting out of a clean comfortable bed to go to work. Often stay here and i have nothing bad to say about it. Its always enjoyable
I've stayed at many hotels over the years but I've never come across one where the staff are as genuinely friendly and sincere as I found here. I stayed for 3 nights for a family party and sighsteeing in the area and cannot fault the service and hotel. The rooms were warm, nicely decorated and very clean; the bed was extremely comfortable with a very light but warm quilt; the food in the restaurant was delicious with an excellent breakfast; the function room was nicely decorated with a very good buffet and service but above all the staff make this hotel. They are friendly, helpful and thoughtful and nothing is too much trouble. I would especially like to commend Bea who works in the restaurant and Danny who works nights - they went the extra mile for the older members of the party. As an added bonus the hotel is on a quiet road but close to the motorway and therefore in an excellent location for travelling around Kent and the south east. I had a lovely day in Rochester.
Stayed this weekend with a friend in twin room, ample parking on arrival, check in friendly and swift, room was as expected for the price being clean and tidy but a bit bland and basic. Had dinner in the evening and food was good to be honest with a very limited menu in my opinion but when only staying a night or two it's fine. Breakfast much the same and but little limited on choice, no mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding or scramble/fried eggs (only poached) for example but still enough for most appetites..! Overall all staff were friendly but hotel is a bit basic, I'd return for a weekend with my mates but not with the family.
Family and friends enjoyed a fish supper here after the funeral of a family member. The hotel could not do enough for us! Many of us stayed overnight and we had great service, comfortable rooms, and finished with a tasty breakfast! Cannot praise the staff enough.
I stopped here for one night on a business trip and it was quite plesant. Conveniently located next to the M2 the facilities and surroundings were all good. The food was decent too as were the staff so would definitey use this hotel again.
Michelle on reception was really welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The room was ok, a little dated but clean and the bed was comfy. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Bathroom was clean, shower worked well although it only had a curtain around it so we had to put a towel on the floor as it got wet. Our room faced on to the road so it was a little noisey at times from the traffic and there was a noisey guest out in the corridor late at night, but thats not the hotels fault. We didnt have breakfast but did have our evening meal in the restaurant. I think there was an issue in the kitchen as the food took a long time to come but when it did arrive, there was plenty of it and it was cooked well. I really enjoyed the chicken and ribs, and the food was reasonably priced. Id happily stay here again,
Stayed here after flooded by storm, been here for 2 months in a newly refurbished apartment with lovely lounge and kitchenette. All staff very nice, Danny on security went a step further and gave us peace of mind. Great breakfast and evening meals so never had the need to dine elsewhere. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay a comfortable one.
Been to many similar hotels but this has first class customer service. Very impressed. All staff are friendly outgoing and polite and really seem to want to please. Unusual this day and age for a UK hotel and there is no pretence with them either .
Stayed here one night before a Board meeting nearby. Room was comfortable, spotless and spacious with good size en-suite and decent bath/shower. Free wi-fi and breakfast included for a good price point. Reception and all the staff here are all welcoming and helpful and clearly value customers! I had an evening meal here of sea bass fillet and it was nicely prepared, cooked and presented again for a reasonable price. Breakfast was buffet style - cooked and continental - all fresh and plentiful. During my stay the wi-fi went down which was not the fault of the hotel but their ISP. A measure of good service is that once made aware of the problem, the hotel staff were tenacious in chasing their their ISP to deliver a restored service. I am in this area for meetings about once a month and I will use this hotel again.
When we checked in the receptionist was welcoming so check in was very easy. The disabled parking bays were narrow making it difficult to open a car door without hitting the adjacent car. Room & food good.
We were attending a family party nearby and needed a place to stay the night. Great value for money clean nice staff and a lovely breakfast. Job done! Could not ask for more! Staff went above and beyond to meet all our needs. Our twin room was great and had everything we needed. Comfy beds too. Would stay again.
Good value for London, Plenty of parking, good value restaurant . Room a bit dated but OK. Good proximity to BrandsHatch and easy to find. All staff polite and helpful, check in and out quick and efficient.
Ended up here for three nights - really good no concerns. Room fine, room service a little limited perhaps. Although breakfast supposedly from seven, there was a business breakfast thing on one morning which was a pain. Would have been good to know beforehand but I guess the hotel has to have multiple streams of revenue. Staff excellent. Hotel spotless and all in all, fine. Would stay again.
Visited the hotel for dinner, absolutely lovely food and the staff were brilliant very attentive from start to finish. Great service. Would definitely recommend and go back. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.
Wicked xmas partys best getting the drinks vouchers. lovely staff been going there now for the last 5 years always decorated really nice and DJ rocks the place rooms are nice and cosy the all you can eat breakfast is well much
Excellent service by hotel reception staff Michelle was very welcoming very helpful in all aspects of my stay highly recomened. The room was very comfortable clean there were tea / coffee making facilities. Free WIFI and TV.
I wasn't the one who was staying at this hotel our friends was staying here man is diable I have stay here before and found it to be fantastic but on this occasion we was only drinking there but the staff are lovely its hotel and pay hotel prices but nothings to big or to inconvenient recommended
We always stay at the Best Western Manor Hotel, Hever Court Road, Gravesend when we wish to visit family and friends. The hotel is always immaculately clean, with very friendly, efficient, and very helpful staff. It`s ideally located, being very close to family and friends, some we can even walk to from the hotel. The breakfast is superb with more than all you can eat, and the restaurant is always well layed out, and serving good food.
The hotel was an excellent base for visiting family in Kent - all the staff were friendly and really helpful, responsive to queries about the hotel amenities and also the local area. The room was expansive, super clean and very comfy (the bed was huge and provided a great night's sleep) and we were surprised how quiet it was given the proximity to the A2, plus there was a wedding on one night, so top marks for soundproofing! We were pleasantly surprised as we had not expected a 10/10 stay for such reasonable rates - so great value for money also.
This hotel is great. Recently refurbished and close access to M2 well situated. Staff great and beds comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and English etc available to order. The location was not spoilt by the M2 and from room 9 you could not hear the motorway. If you are going to Digger Land then this is 10mins down the road and 10mins to Bluewater so a great position to be in. Will stay again.
After having trouble with my car on the A2 and having to come off and find somewhere safe & with wifi. I pulled into the Best Western with my 3 year old. The amazingly helpful receptionist Michelle couldn't do enough to help us til we were rescued. She was fab & my son said he had a great time at the lovely hotel Haha. Many thanks again. X
Average sized room with a free upgrade, room clean and fairly modern with approx 48” tv. Good fast Wi-fi but a small bathroom. Restaurant was quiet and food was nice, well priced overnight stay with free on site parking. Will use again
Had a Twin Room for 2 overnights stay for work function nearby. Nice bar, decent food, good ammenities and facilities. I'm never really a fan of the decour at Best Westerns as I generally find it to be a bit naf and dated but a pleasant stay with nothing to conplain about.
It's been two years since we last stayed and normally, we like to stay at another hotel but they were fully booked. So please they were, as 'that place' was in need of some TLC. The staff here were so helpful, even housekeeping. Making a joke when delivering a fan to our room asking 'if we needed a FAN?' then screaming like 'a fan'!!! The breakfast had improved a lot from last time too. I was reluctant to try again but again, so please we did. Such a yummy start to the day. Thanks to all the staff for such a pleasant stay, WE WILL BE BACK!
I was a little disappointed when i arrived by the outside appearance of the hotel but theres plenty of parking. Once inside however, its a different story. Really well furnished and scrupulously clean; both the public areas like the great bar and the rooms. The food is also great and much better than the regular chains. What makes this place though are the staff who are friendly, professional and enthusiastic. Dont be fooled by the best western asssociation; this is far better than that.
We had 2 dinners plus breakfasts in the hotel. I have some tricky dietary requirements and the restaurant staff were so accommodating in making changes to dishes so I could eat them. The room was lovely (nice decor, nice lighting which made it cozy, clean). We put a do not disturb sign on our door as didn't need the room to be cleaned for a 2 night stay. We returned from our day out to find a basket by the door with fresh towels and extra tea bags/milk/biscuits which was very much appreciated. The place was quiet and we slept well. The only thing that could be improved was the mattress. It was a little soft for us. Thank you for a great stay.
This hotel had very friendly staff. Had one or two small mishaps but over all very good for an over night stay. The function we attended at the hotel was very well executed and staff very efficient. The food was very good and hot which can you usually be a problem at some establishments.
We were staying in the nearby Premier inn and tried to eat at the George pub nearby (DONT GO THERE) it was dreadful thank goodness we walked out as we found the restaurant of the Manor Hotel. The staff were lovely and the food even lovelier! If you aren't staying there still go for your food it's really really good!
I went at this best western manor hotel on 10th october and I was utterly disappointed with this hotel. At the time of check inn receptionist refused to take payment in cash and asked only for credit or debit card. The room is alright but the furniture and bathroom fittings looks all tatty and old fashioned. It's the worst best western I have ever stayed.
Stayed for one night with dinner in the restaurant and breakfast next morning. Staff on it in terms of attention and readiness for check-in process. Room on ground floor clean and well presented despite being dated. Had everything one could expect including decent toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast a vast buffet with very decent service from attentive and kind staff. This is not haute cuisine but spot on for a hungry traveller. Check-out experince equally smooth with car park access codes well sign-posted by staff.
The Best Western Manor Hotel - Gravesend have ALWAYS been very freindly, helpful, efficient, and professional, with the hotel rooms and facilities always being immaculatelly presented. We`ve NEVER had any reason to complain or feel disappointed whenever we`ve stayed there.
I stayed here for 2 nights on business. The bed was incredible comfortable, room very clean, there was a fresh smell of clean linen throughout the corridors which is always welcome. The food was fantastic. I'd highly recommend ordering poached eggs for your breafkast. The beef teriyaki noodle stir fry was STUNNING. Even their jacket potato with cheese and beans was spot on. The reason this hotel really shines is down to the staff. Nothing is too much trouble, all of the staff go the extra mile and are incredibly friendly and approachable. Best western as a brand should be very very proud of the team ethic the staff project from the Manor Hotel. A huge credit to Best Western and made the stay even better and less of a chore with being away from home! Special mention to Jodie who served in the restaurant on my last evening, she ran the show. Her interaction and attentiveness to the guests dining was fantastic. Really warm and accommodating whilst making people have a chuckle aswell. Sally helping me with technical issues the following morning before running an event at the venue was also an aballute delight. Again, nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic stay and would highly recommend here for any one looking for a faultless lovely stay.
Very friendly welcome, lovely touch putting kids sweets in the room (haven't had a refresher in years - loved it!), bed was massive too. All the staff were extra friendly, which is really appreciated when you're on the road a lot. Food was excellent, I had the fish medley starter and beef teriyaki stir-fry, both heartily recommended.
Stopped over on business - chose based on price, room OK, WiFi good, bed very comfortable, so looking like great value but let down by evening meal: ribs shouldn't be difficult to get wrong but they were completely tasteless. Had to leave before 05:00am so did not get a chance to sample breakfast but unfortunately won't be staying again.
This was booked for a coach full of us going on our annual bowls tour. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Staff were polite and friendly. The room was brilliant and kept clean and tidy. The meals were were lovely . One lady on our table did not like anything on the menu but it was no trouble for them to offer something else. All in all a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone.
This was a lovely hotel which was conveniently located for me work wise. The food was absolutely lovely - both the evening meal and the breakfast. The bar was short staffed and only one guy was allowed to serve which made drink service slow. The room was ok but for me it missed a few basic things which you normally get... for example a menu (there was reference to room service in the information book but no menu / price list - nor was there a main restaurant menu. The only thing in the room referenced ‘bar snacks) There was tea / coffee making facilities but no takeaway cups which I've found really useful in other places. I also found my bed really lumpy so didn't get to sleep til late. There was a nice complimentary bottle of water though and the reception staff were incredibly helpful.
My Wife & I stayed here last weekend for Saturday night & overall we had a nice time. One thing that could be improved is the greeting (or not) at reception on arrival. I do like to be greeted with a smile when I arrive at a hotel & sadly here I wasn't. All the booking-in procedure seemed like too much trouble which was a shame. I was told at reception that I had to pay for the room up-front but that's not what the online booking procedure told me - when I booked online, it clearly stated 'payment on checkout'. When I highlighted this to the receptionist, I was told 'no, that's not correct', but when I persevered with my point of view I was told I would have to present my bank card to pay a 'credit guarantee'. Not a problem I thought, but I was asked to enter my PIN number for an amount which was higher than my room rate & when I highlighted this, more sighs! It got better after this & the room was OK, if somewhat dated. The décor in the room could do with an update, but the reception and bar area are very nice. Later-on during the evening, the receptionist was very good to phone around for a taxi for us for 19.30; she had to phone a few numbers before she managed to book one for me. Overall, a nice hotel & if it was with a smile, it'd be even better.
We had booked this hotel at the beginning of the year. As we were attending a wedding in Southfleet. Shelby was really pleasant and made sure that the dietary needs were available for my wife, as she has a strict diet. The room was clean, on the two nights we stayed had a good night sleep. Nice choice of breakfast and the freshly made fruit for my wife on the Saturday was really appreciated, as well as the gluten free cereal and oat milk. The fruit smoothie (the yellow one) was yummy. Bethany was a star and was so attentive to my wife. Very pleasant staff and courteous throughout our stay. Just need to mention we have still not received our Best Western Card. We had booked in January of this year. Keep up the good work, your staff are a credit to this hotel.
Arriving at the hotel, the receptionist was most welcoming and helpful. Although we only stayed for one night, we were met with great service and friendly yet professional staff. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was a comprehensive choice and perfectly cooked. I have absolutely no negative comments for this hotel and will not hesitate to use them again when in the area.
I bought the honeymoon suite for my sister and although the room was nice enough I was underwhelmed by the service from the reception staff. I chased up the breakfast order as it did not arrive in time and the receptionists response was that she specifically had not received anything even though I said the order came down the night before. She then rang up to get the order again but it was too late for my sister to fully eat and enjoy when it finally arrived. There was also a further booking query they discussed with my sister that upset her even though they were in the wrong. I believe she did get an apology before checking out but it was all a little late by then.
We wanted a short overnight stay in Gravesend whilst visiting family. The Manor was ideal being conveniently situated and cheaper than the Travelodge. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the hotel had a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Given the choice between a family run independent hotel and a soulless conglomerate give us a hotel like The Manor every time.
This is a fantastic venue for a party. We needed a venue for a golden wedding anniversary party, that had it all, decent sized room, rooms to stay, bar, food and late finish time, this hotel has it all. I was a novice in party planning however with the help of the managers and the staff they made it a breeze. Throughout the evening they were making sure everything was ok and if we needed anything they were there to help. They were just brilliant. The bar is stocked with great beer and ales along with a selection of gin and the buffet was hot and plenty of food. The accommodation was clean, comfy bed and the bathroom was also clean. Breakfast was hot buffet and plenty of it. I highly recommend this hotel, I would stay again and definitely hold a party there again.
We stayed here for a weekend visiting family. The staff where very helpful and polite. Food was really lovely and the room very comfortable. Everywhere in the hotel was really clean and well presented.
This hotel was great the staff super helpful and the location great for us. We were part of a wedding group that was staying here. Breakfast was good! rooms and public areas very clean. would defiantly recommend
My first stay at Manor hotel, and very pleased I chose it. Driving in to the spacious car park off the main road, reception is right in front. Very friendly, efficient check in. My room, (23), as at the back of the hotel. I'm a very light sleeper, and had requested a quiet room if possible. Mine was perfect; no noise from outside at all, very comfy bed, clean, well-appointed. Just right. I over-indulged at dinner, because frankly it was just so good, such good value and the staff were excellent. Veg soup, sizzling veggie wraps, and Eton mess. Everything was delicious, looked good and was served with a smile. I was so full I skipped breakfast the next day. Thanks to everyone at Manor Hotel.
Fanatic value the food was top notch excellent choice and as the main was a carvery so you could eat as much as you like. Sirloin of Beef so v good quality and Turkey was so tender and lots of fresh veg and pots. Beats a Toby hands down on atmosphere quality and value for money. Staff attentive friendly and no rushing cannot recommend it enough.
We were on a flying visit and decided it was time to try the Manor We were made to feel welcome on arrival Our room was fine ,nothing special , perfectly adequate for a couple of nights stay but would not have wanted stay any longer however for a supplement you can have an executive room with more space There was a bus in so it was eat before 19.30 or go somewhere else so we went somewhere else There's a great bar area to meet up with friends or family and Valentino the bar man is a real character as well as a great Host and made all of us feel welcome he is a great asset to this hotel and remembered from the day before Breakfast on our first morning was late for us at 9 am and to be honest as it finishes at 9.30 we didn't expect much But to our surprise it was great with plenty of everything in the buffet Day two we were earlier at just after 8 am it was completely different the bus must have just left and the buffet although of great variety no decent bacon left and all staff were very busy clearing up and we felt as if we were intruding although one lass apologised for the mess ,it didn't feel appropriate to ask for some decent bacon I must though say there was still a great variety of food on offer from hams ,cheese ,pastries as well as the normal English breakfast Best of all and deserving of a gold medal was the toasting machine which gave perfect toast every time !! Our room was spotlessly clean and had a great comfortable bed too ,the shower was very good too There was a full compliment of tea and coffees too . Finally my last moan of the review there are steps to most rooms and I cannot recall there being a note to warn people of stairs so those with mobility problems should contact the hotel as there are a few rooms on the ground The hotel is convenient for travellers being just off the A2 / M2 , Ebbsfleet International Rail Station is a short distance away If you have time visit Gravesend for its Historic Riverside including Pocahontas statue and story There is also a short distance away Bluewater Shopping Centre which has so many stores it's a day out on its own We liked the Manor Hotel The Staff make this place special There is a really good secure car parking system too
We stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and the hotel public areas were clean and comfortable room was of a good standard very comfortable bed and good bathroom breakfast has a very good choice for self service and again staff very helpful well done
A great stay, the staff were fantastic the two lovely girls on reception made Me feel very welcome and Rebecca in the restaurant was beautiful and friendly and somehow made the whole dining experience a real pleasure The whole stay was a delight from start to finish
This may not seem the obvious venue to a wedding reception and other places we visited at first glance had better ambiance BUT it is close to A2 so guests can get there and close to very pretty churches. Accommodation was decent quality and good value and the way they did the room was beautiful for a reception with 80-90 for dinner any maybe 120 at evening event. Bar in function room was excellent, food was great both quality and quantity for wedding breakfast and evening guests. Service and support by hotel staff to arrange event could not have been better, including arranging DJ and allowing photo booth and other extras. The whole event worked without a hitch. This hotel will give you a wedding reception as good or better than other venues that may cost twice as much. Really can't recommend this venue highly enough
My husband and I stay here a lot and the staff take great pride in making us feel like part of the family whilst still feeling like valued guests. From an ordinary visit to birthday, Valentine's and Christmas, we could not feel any more cared about and the standards never slip. My husband is disabled and in a wheelchair and they always make sure that we have everything we need. We couldn't ask for more.
Stayed for one night in February. Warm welcome at reception and booked in without fuss. Room looks to have been renovated recently - was very bright and clean. Supersized comfortable bed, a clean and well appointed bathroom/shower with toiletries provided. Tea and coffee making facilities in room with decaf coffee sachets - a must for us. Wifi also available. We did not eat in the restaurant but breakfast was great with a full range of English and continental available with unlimited tea.coffee. Will definitely stay here again
Stayed for 4 nights on business. Room lovely and clean. Food excellent, especially the yogurt and fruit pots for breakfast. Bacon was good too. Evening meal had lots of choice. Fabulous G&T. Towels big and fluffy. Would definitely stay again.
i have recently stayed in this hotel for the first time very useful transport links around Gravesend and would deffo be back soon!!! was delighted with the hospitality and kindness of staff one gentleman in particular (think his name is George?) who payed extra attention to our needs and ensured our stay was delightful. would deffo recommend this hotel to a friend. also lovely breakfast!
A big thank you to Nick and all the staff for an amazing day . We booked in at 1400 ,soon after we had our afternoon tea , a fabulous selection of sandwiches a pastries then retuned to our rooms to prepare ourselves for the evenings entertainment,we retuned at 1800 for drinks reception with wonderful canapés before taking our seats for dinner , an absolutely beautiful selection of courses followed by a truly enjoyable night , then a good nights sleep before a wonderful breakfast , so impressed our party booked for next New Year's Eve on our departure . Thanks again Nick .
I regularly use this hotel when I am in the area on business, I have always found the staff very friendly and very helpful, the food is pretty good and the rooms clean and decorated to a high standard. There is plenty of on-site parking and the WIFI is very reliable. I would recommend this hotel to my colleagues and friends.
Very welcoming reception staff. Very close to the A2/M2 but surprisingly quiet. The plumbing could do with an upgrade as the radiators are quite noisy and the shower temperature is a bit temperamental. The food and bar prices are reasonable and the cooked breakfast is also good. Overall a good hotel and will use it again when working in the area.
Rooms old fashion but very clean and good value with a very good breakfast.Staff were very good and helpful. Handy for Gravesend and surrounding area. Beds were very comfortable for us but might be a bit soft to some.
Enjoyable stay in a good hotel easy access to and from a major route (A2),No need to use a budget hotel when this option is available. Excellent for price, comfortable room, good food, friendly staff and secure parking. All go to make a good overnight stay.
We stayed for one night in an executive room (well worth paying the extra) which included breakfast. The room was clean, comfortable and the bed was a Superking with nice pillows and bedding. We asked for a quiet room with a bath and the staff provided this request. We ate a quick meal in the bar but this was not so good. The burgers were hard and dry and there wasn't a side of coleslaw as it said on the menu. There wasn't a member of staff readily available to mention any of this so we left this complaint unsaid as we were in a hurry for an appointment. We would not recommend the bar snacks. Breakfast was fine. We are rating the accommodation and not the meal.
We were here for another annual function, just superb, as always. The staff, the room (10), the function and obviously the food, beware of the “afternoon tea and cakes ?? “ they are very, very tasty, BUT, very filling, making eating the main meal a problem, and it was superb!!! as well, still next year I'll remember (LOL). The only complaint ?? Was that the toilet handle in room 10 was very, very loose, I did mention it too the receptionist, so hopefully it's now fixed ???. But we'll be back.
A solid business hotel with great people, great service and good honest food. The location near the motorway makes it ideal for me when I am visiting clients that side of London. I've now booked up my next five visits to the area using this hotel as my base.
Have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. Rooms are quite spacious and well presented. Staff friendly and helpful and a good selection of cold and hot food offered at breakfast. Overall good value...
Good location particularly for Brands Hatch. Bedroom was very good and clean. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were plenty of parking spaces. The wifi was good.
We arrived early as we were going to a family wedding close by. We did not expect our room to be ready but we were meeting the groom and had to get to the venue early as my partner is the father of the bride. The lovely lady on reception went out of her way to get our room ready early. She even gave us a drink voucher as we had to wait a short time. The housekeeping staff were fabulous, and the room was spotless. Lovely big room with bath and shower. Best of all the window opened. On the way to breakfast the staff were asking how the wedding went, which was kind of them. Whoever trains the staff deserves 10 out of 10. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and fresh.
A very comfortable Hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and food of good quality and a reasonable price, The Hotel is easily accessible from the main motorways and close enough to the Bluewater shopping centre. Would definitely stay again. Book early as it gets fully booked well in advance, no surprise!
Visited for the Bank Holiday Monday to see the Historic Chatham Dockyard for the BBC Call the Midwife tour. Hotel about 10/15 minutes from the docks, and just off the A2. Perfect location for us. Nice big comfy twin room, enjoyed by myself and my mum. Requested a downstairs room, and it was lovely and quiet. Tea, Coffee and Hot chocolate provided in rooms. Spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was beautiful. Cooked to order Full English and Help yourself Continental breakfast; fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh croissants and danish. Cereals and toast.Full English beautifully cooked. Only downside to our stay was the housekeepers walking in on us twice whilst getting ready in the morning. other than that, we will definitely be back.
This is a good hotel with good facilities, they serve good breakfast; we were pleased that they offer secure parking. Even it's a Best Western Hotel with many sister hotels - this hotel offers great service. We pointed out some problems with the room and they have acknowledged the problem straight away. This is the reason I score higher as we appreciate very much if staff helps to make their guests happy. Highly recommended.
Car park is well organised and the gentleman in reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was easy to get to and was laid out well. There was a restaurant in the hotel but I did not need it this time. On departure there was a lady and a gentleman in reception and again there were very friendly and helpful.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Stay at a Premier Inn or Holiday Inn. I stay at hundreds of hotels around the world on business, and this sticks out as one of the low points. I cannot understand people giving 4 star reviews - maybe they were planted by employees. Tatty, tired, grubby place. The "executive room" was supposed to have an extra large bed, it did not - it had 2 pushed together, both with saggy, lumpy uncomfortable mattresees with cheap duvets and really thin, cheap pillows. The bathroom was tatty - rusting bath fittings, a shower curtain with mould along the bottom edge, a shower that was fixed to the wall and could not be adjusted. The room was hot and stuffy, and opening the window did nothing, except allow the noise in from the A2 (right outside the window) . Closing the window did not reduce the noise anyway. There is no air con. The wifi was so slow I gave up trying to get my emails. I had checked in at about 7.45 pm, after a day of driving. I had a shower, packed my bags, and left again, at 9pm - I preferred to drive 5 hours through the night to get back to the West country rather than stay at this place. At almost £90 for a night, it was really overpriced, and nowhere near the quality of a Premier Inn. This was money down the drain. Date of visit August 2017 (Saturday).
Second time of staying at this hotel. Stayed in the suite. Decor nice, spacious room with corner sofa and four poster bed. Fridge included in the room. Bathroom clean. Extra towels were available. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar prices what you'd expect for a hotel. Plenty of parking. Breakfast tasty - full English. Only continental breakfast available for room service.
Very nice hotel and clean rooms, food was lovely and hot, all staff very welcoming and helpful. Being a crane driver they coned off an area for me so i could stay. I would defiantly stay again if passing through the area.
Stayed here Wednesday night after a family wedding at the knowle country house. When booking the family room with breakfast next morning I did think it was a little expensive but when we arrived and was given our key the room was definitely worth the price. You walked in and had a double bed in the first room then walked round the corner of the room in a separate it and there were 2 single beds, we had a wardrobe bedside tables a chair and a desk with a chair. The bathroom was huge with plenty of space to share it. The room was great plenty of space shame we only used it to sleep. When we got up the next morning there was 30 of us for breakfast which we had been told we needed to be down for 8.30 when we got there and went to get breakfasts there was not enough cooked breakfast loads of us left waiting for a long time juices were near enough empty it was such a let down as having been told when we needed to arrive for breakfast and they knew how many of us would be down.
This hotel is ideally located near to Ebbsfleet Eurostar Station. The staff are friendly and willing to help. The food is good but unfortunately the registered breakfast opening of 0700am is a bit late for many users, although, luckily the staff are in and active before this time. Booking is not easy since, apparently, the availability of rooms seems to diminish quickly resulting in quite an expensive product.
Met 7 friends for afternoon tea. Very good Good choice of sandwiches, scones and cakes Limitless tea and coffee Very good service Comfortable seating and quiet We we not rushed at all. We will be going back.
Got put to stay in here by my company whilst at college! Rooms were lovely and clean every time we came back and staff were very welcoming! When it came to dinner, the food was lovely and the waitresses were amazing and very friendly! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
We held our ladies night at The Best Western and I have to say the room looked stunning. The staff who worked on the night were exemplary and professional. The only complaint, strange to say however the portions were to big especially when you are hoping to have a good drink. Thanks to Nick and his team.
We had a great family room, superb bathroom and clean comfortable living area. The breakfasts were good and the staff both hospitable and very efficient. Housekeeping were great, bringing us a fan for the extra bed area and leaving extra coffee for my caffeine addiction... we highly recommend this place
i had not booked in advanced , but due to circumstances i had fond myself needing a place to stay for a couple of days , The staff were so helpful and helped me out in every way they could . From the cleaners to the night staff when i arrived late a special mention to Dave who was on duty when i arrived he could not have been more helpful thanks would recommend and if needed would stay again
I stayed at the manor for one night and I would certainly recommend It, the service was great, the room was clean and it was nice to get a bath with hot water instantly. I ate in the restaurant and the food was of good quality. The breakfast is a buffet which makes for a quick turnaround, but this isn't a bad thing. Everything is how I'd like more places to be. There are a lot of hotels that could learn from here. Ideal for business travel
The hotel hosted a Ladies Night of a friends Masonic Lodge. The evening commenced with a 3 course meal of Pate, Roast Beef & Pecan Pie followed by dancing to Diamond. The food was excellent as was the entertainment. The guitarist even showed me the intro to Smoke On The Water. All I need now is to catch up on about 60 years of guitar lessons! The only downside was I couldn't fathom out the shower probably down to me. The room was well appointed and had a king size bed, I slept like a log but my wife was disturbed as usual by my snoring. Breakfast was a buffet and had lots to choose from but don't ask me to make tea as I picked the wrong bags. All in all a nice stay.
We stayed her for 2 nights recently whilst attending a 2 day event. First impressions were mixed. It was a Sunday The exterior of the hotel was very nice, the car park was empty. The entrance was very welcoming and the receptionist friendly and efficient. We were a bit disappointed to learn that due to very few customers the restaurant would be shut that evening. It is in the middle of nowhere and we didn't fancy a hike to get dinner but had no choice. This was a shame but I do understand. The rooms were large and comfortably warm. The beds were very comfortable, however although clean and tidy they did feel very dated. It reminded me of going to visit my Grandparents in the 1970's. The ground floor, reception area, restaurant and bar area are very modern comfortable and up to date. I'd like to say that the restaurant staff are awesome, and the lengths that both they and a guy I think was the manager went to, to make my wife comfortable whilst dining was second to none. Never have I stayed in a restaurant that went to such great lengths to please an allergy sufferer any where in the world. My wife is coeliac (Gluten Free) What they did was explain fully what she could eat from what was on offer that day, including offering her a Gluten free sticky toffee pudding, prepared at short notice. This never ever happens. For day 2 the manager simply said to her tell us whatever you'd like to eat and we will make it for you. amazing. If ever back in Gravesend we will return 100%
I stayed at the Manor Hotel for business for a couple of nights in April. The hotel is tucked away out of town which was good for me as i'm not a fan of built up areas as it's usually a nightmare to get to/park. The car park i can imagine would be pretty tight when its full but there wasn't many cars when i stayed. Check in was fine, no issues, staff friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean but a little worn in some areas such as the stairs and corridors towards the room. The room itself was nice and comfortable with all the basics supplied. Some of the furniture was a little dated and the shower/bath tub could have done with modernizing a little but everything was in working order. Despite this the room was clean. The wifi was very good and fast (also free which was a bonus). My main criticism and my reason for the 4 rating rather than 5 was the walls/doors seem to be paper thin. I was woken up at around 6am both days due to inconsiderate people slamming doors and shouting in the corridors. Not the hotels fault but the rooms could be a bit better noise insulated. Dinner was great and the mean reason for my rating. I'm a vegetarian and quite used to seeing one or two options if you're lucky but this restaurant had an entire vegetarian menu which was very impressive. Breakfast was also good with many options. Vegetarian sausages would of been good but can't get it all! Overall a good stay and i would definitely return
Decent hotel - friendly, professional staff. Rooms are comfortable, a little dated but OK and reasonable value if booked early enough. Well situated with decent road links. Overpriced breakfast takes the edge of it though. Out of balance with room rate so much @ £17 !!! so much so that I skip this or either walk up the road to the George pub (2 mins) to get pretty much the same at half the price or hit Starbucks or something. this is unfortunate as I did used to breakfast here when it was more affordable and admittedly it is quite a good offering.
I popped in to ask if they did coffee / teas whilst driving out for the morning with my 92 year old mother. The receptionist couldn't have been friendlier.. We had two Mocha coffees and a sandwich to share. The service was excellent and the food fresh and appetising.
Friendly staff. Plenty of secure parking. Brilliantly fast free WiFi. After reading previous reviews I expected room to be "tired" but that wasn't the case. No chips in the furnishings. The teak furnishings & floral fabrics used in BW hotels is not modern-looking & not to my taste but everything was in good condition, clean & comfortable. Cheaper than Premier Inn whose price went up every time I looked. Will stay here again.
Quick stay but very comfortable stay. Nice room, lovely breakfast and friendly breakfast staff. Bar stays open until 01:30hrs for residents. Very near the A2 so great place to stay if visiting Gravesend.
The hotel lounge and lobby looked nice. The rooms however were stuck in the 80's Fleur de lys green and cream wall paper and curtains with pelmets hanging down. The bathroom was dated and towels were minute. Only one flat pillow and the door didn't close on its own, so shut it yourself. Staff very friendly and food during dinner was nice. Breakfast was not the best but passable. Cooked breakfast available, all food left under heat lamps so over cooked and fruit juice tasted like "tip tops" free wifi with code from reception. No lift.
Spent 1 night before travelling from Ebbsfleet. Great value for B&B which included breakfast, a taxi to the Eurostar terminal and parking for our car for 5 days. Spotlessly clean throughout, nice room, tea/coffee tray in room, helpful staff and a very good breakfast.
I was left in awe when I stayed at this hotel in Gravesend, Kent, United Kingdom. Hotel was clean, rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful but if you're looking for a hotel with and elevator, this is not the place. If you're one of those travelers that loves a microwave and a fridge in your room, this is not the place, if you're the one who believes that Best Western is an international hotel, and they should have the ability to accept dollars and British pound or whatever currency along with the Dollar, than this is not for you. This hotel in Gravesend did not accept U.S. Dollar. So Americans, beware!!!! Oh and if you want a late check out, you're gonna get charged.... smh
Stayed at this Hotel for the Weekend while visiting Brands Hatch. Check in quick and efficient with a smiling Receptionist which makes a great first impression. Rooms comfortable and very clean. Used the bar and Restaurant and found both to be well organised and again with smiling staff that could not do enough for you. The food was good and service quick and efficient. I would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a base to visit Brands Hatch or even Blue water for Christmas shopping as this is only 15 minutes away In all a great weekends racing and a lovely stay in this friendly Hotel BRILLIANT!!!
Stayed two nights as guests at a wedding arrangement. Clean, comfortable, great breakfast, good dinner, well handled wedding setup. Was worried about noise because of the proximity to the motorway but didn't hear a thing. No safe or fridge in our room - but to be fair we didn't ask either - and the entire accommodation area was locked and only openable with a room key.
Was a bit concerned about it only having 3 stars but shouldn't have worried because it was every bit as good as any of the other Best Westerns we have used! Can only think that the "lack" of a fitness centre etc. is why it is so rated!
Stayed at the Best Western Manor around a month ago with some friends when we went for a night out in Dartford. The hotel was nice, a little bit old fashioned but very clean. We have no complaints about the cleanliness of our room at all. The hotel is very cosy and all of the staff seemed very friendly. The staff at breakfast were great!! We only had one complaint about the hotel and that was the night porter who was on duty the night of our stay, if I remember rightly I think his name badge said Dave. We came in quite late as we had been for a night out, when we arrived back at around 2am he seemed annoyed that we were coming in at this hour. We didn't realise that there was a curfew on the time that we could come in?! We asked for some glasses of water to take to our room with us but we were told to use the taps in our bathroom. When we got in he was sat behind the reception desk with his feet up on the counter, letting the hotel phone continuously ring out! This man was extremely unfriendly, quite intimidating and also very unhelpful. This let the stay down for us, we would be happy to return to the hotel as long as we could have confirmation prior to booking that this night porter would not be on duty on the night of our stay!!
We arrived to construction work in the foyer. Not a big deal as it was far from our room and they'd be finished by 6pm anyway. Our room was a total disappointment compared to online pics. It was dark, old fashioned and dreary. The furniture was old, the view was off trees and this back of someone's house and the curtains and cushions were really shabby. The room however was very clean! The long narrow corridors were so terribly old fashioned with early 90s wall paper and random tiled sections of wall! We had a small issue on our first night where there was a sound penetrating our room - like a Hoover or hairdryer that was left on .... Couldn't pinpoint it but it was incredibly headache-inducing just by its constancy. We mentioned it to the staff on the reception desk and she immediately gave us breakfast for both mornings free of charge as an apology (we weren't looking for anything) and went up to investigate. It turned out to be a heater on full whack in another empty room and it was literally hopping!! She sorted it though! And with a smile! We are some bar food on the first night - it was lovely and bar staff were friendly. Breakfast on both mornings was lovely - plenty of everything a self service coffee, tea and hot choc, croissants, cereal, fruit and hot food! We booked dinner on the second night in the restaurant - didn't really hit the spot unfortunately! Staff were lovely but food was overlooked and dry and a bit over priced. In general, I wouldn't complain about the place but I do think that the standard could be a bit higher in the rooms and the dinner!
We stayed overnight for a family event. We were all well looked after and enjoyed a pleasant stay, no complaints with any aspect of the visit. Food and food/bar service all great, very helpful and friendly staff all round.
We just had a one night stay here. The hotel is old but kept very clean. The lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, the loo was a bit temperamental and didn't always flush. I would also love to see an electric socket near a mirror for drying hair without having to move furniture to get to one.
I had very good relaxing comfortable three night stay at this Hotel while working in Great Warley Essex, very handy location round the corner from the A2 leading to M25 or M20 the reception staff were very welcoming and very helpful, the room was very private and silent ad a very good night's sleep thank you and keep up the good work
Stayed 2 nights last week whilst on a business trip. The hotel is well placed just off the A2, but is quiet and well located for the Dartford crossing. Very friendly staff throughout and the restaurant was pleasant, albeit offering a limited menu, but something for everyone, and the food was well cooked and presented. The breakfast was especially good, with lots of choices - both hot and cold. Worth mentioning for the business traveller that the WiFi was exceptionally strong and quick - if only other Best Westerns could be as good!
To be fair, this hotel was average according to its price. I had one night stay after a very long journey from Cumbria. Staff were helpful. The lamps at the bed side were not working, and i was not feeling very happy about it. The looks of the hotel itself very not very attractive. As you enter, it seems like the building is old, but yes they kept is clean and well maintained. Breakfast was great, almost everything was available in buffet. Free parking was available for customers.
We stayed overnight for a banquet. The food was delicious and the breakfast was excellent. Room comfortable and well-appointed. Shower hot. Staff friendly and helpful. Drinks prices are high - two soft drinks cost nearly a £5. Wine which was excellent £18 a bottle!
We stayed for the night family off 4 very comfy bed room had everything needed not the cleanest bathroom found a few hairs, we decided to dine there for the evening was really nice food, staff really nice and think was the manager of the restaurant was very good with our 1 year old kept making him laugh. Food was a little expensive. Breakfast was above average lots off choice very nice.
Very convenient for motorways. Modernist building with comfortable public spaces and nice bar. Room was good size and what you would expect. What I didn't expect was 1 small window which only opened a few inches and no air conditioning, especially in a modern hotel, which was quite horrid on one of the hottest days in the year, or any time come to that. Food was average.
I booked in to this hotel as we were attending a funeral and this was where the wake was to be. The staff were very helpful when I phoned to book and gave us a discount on the room. The room was very comfortable with a ceiling fan. We ate at the hotel on the first evening and found the food very good. The staff were very friendly and service was very good
The hotel is very professionally run, the staff very helpfu, accomodating and polite, the rooms are spacious and very clean. The breakfast is above average for variety and quality very good value for the money.
Chose Manor Hotel for location and availability. Has had refurb since last at hotel for conference. Greeted by helpful receptionist. Quick check in. Offered assistance with baggage to room. Room a bit dated, but clean and adequate for needs. All mod cons - hot towel rail, comfy twin beds, ceiling fan. Surprisingly not as noisy as expected when opened window and being located next to A2. Bar prices reasonable and took advantage of the 'gin specials' on offer. Breakfast very tasty. Plenty of cooked and continental breakfast foods. Staff very friendly. Would recommend.
I was sent to this hotel (with taxies and rooms paid for) by another hotel in Gravesend. They asked if the Best Western was all right and I said yes, knowing that they have a good reputation around the world. How wrong could I be? I arrived early in the morning the "doors are always open" were locked! But a member of staff did let us in. We went to the reception desk and were met by a very rude receptionist. I had paperwork from the hotel and introduced myself. The receptionist demanded that I produce the credit card from the other hotel that had made the booking. When I explained that I didn't have the credit card he demanded immediate payment in full before we were allowed to see the rooms. That was no problem as the hotel had given us cash but the receptionist started to argue with us saying that we couldn't pay by cash and had to pay by the credit card that was used for the booking. He then demanded to speak to the Manager of the other hotel and phoned him up and started arguing with him about the booking. This went on for some time and I was really fed up with it all and eventually he accepted the cash and handed us our room keys. We were left to find our rooms ourselves. When we arrived at the rooms and opened the doors it was really, really hot stuffy and smelly! We looked for the air conditioning but there was none. There was a fan in the bathroom but it didn't cool the room down much. I then went to unpack my bag. Took out my long dresses and opened the wardrobe. But the wardrobe was split into two with a rail in the middle and was only suitable for hanging up men's suits and shirts. There was a trouser press but no iron. There was simply nowhere in the room to hang up my long dresses. Come on Best Western this is 2016! You will pay New York prices to stay here and the rooms are poor and service awful! I would strongly advise you to check out the alternatives before you book here because once you are here it is “like it and lump it” you are miles from nowhere!!
Clean room, bit old fashioned but the bar area is nice. Food is reasonable. Nice and cool with a ceiling fan. Good facilities. Chose for the location as was working down in Kent. Helpful staff. Wifi not the best but all in all, great for what I needed.
Went to the Manor Hotel for a Groupon deal of afternoon Tea for Two, - what a lovely surprise!! Once greeted & seated, we were given a jug of iced water, followed by a glass of prosecco each, a large pot of tea, + another pot of hot water in case we wanted to have the speciality tea's provided & then an assortment of finger sandwiches served on a generous bed of salad, hot sausage rolls, warm scones with plentiful cream & Jam, white chocolate profiteroles drizzled with raspberry, chocolate cake & lemon cake, it was delicious, and then another pot of tea arrived, wonderful. Good food - good service & pleasant surroundings, Well done.
Room was ok and comfortable. Toilet and shower ok. I was brought up and lived in Gravesend until I retired from work then I moved down to Hythe. I then started to visit Gravesend at least once a month and to be honest I usually use the Premier Hotel next door but they were full on the day I came. A few months ago I came back within 2 weeks, so I need to spend the smallest amount and Premier is a bit lower. The ladies at your counter said that they would email me some future offers, but I have not received anything yet? my email is bobtaylor4440@gmail.com
In terms of structure, facilities and location I would normally have given 3 stars. Yes it's very close to the motorway, but Gravesend itself is a car ride away. If you don't want to have your evening meal at the hotel, then it's a car journey, (we were 'warned' off the local pub, and the reviews here on Tripadvisor would indicate correctly), so if you all want to drink it's about a £16 return trip taxi ride. My room was ok, but hot and uncomfortable at night in the recent warm weather, as there's no air-conditioning. Opening the window was an option, but directly outside my room were the air-conditioning units for somewhere downstairs, and you can also be disturbed by the traffic noise from the nearby motorway. However, breakfast was very good and the staff excellent and helpful. The night staff were very good at opening the bar and serving us drinks when we returned at about 11:30 after a very long and hard day at work. I'd stay again on a short trip, but would not fancy being there for more than a few nights due to the location, and especially if it was during a hot spell.
Handy for motorway network M2/M25, room and hotel in general is dated but clean, free internet was excellent, new TV with freeview in room, had a nice bar meal, £4.50 a pint and bar staff excellent, breakfast was a buffet and ok. Would stop again if working in area. Have a BW Diamond card but meant nothing !
We had a wake for my Dad's funeral at the hotel and my family stayed over. The staff were very helpful and attentive from the moment we booked and on right through our stay. The function room was very pleasant with a lovely afternoon tea served and a bar in the room. Our rooms were great and my family had room 101 which had a double bed and 2 twins in separate areas. Lots of room for us and our grown up daughters. the whole hotel was spotless -we saw one member of staff meticulously cleaning the skirting boards and polishing the brass risers on the stairs. We would highly recommend the hotel. There isn't anywhere as nice in the area.
booked lots of rooms for my 50th. Well what fun we had! Let us use the bar till late, may have given us the wrong room but hey ho what's a mix up between friends. Everyone was most pleased! Breakfast is fab!
Stayed at the hotel after a family wedding. Really impressed, lovely comfortable mattress, clean and a good breakfast. I saw the note about the cost of the room, we actually paid £85 which I thought was very good value.
I hosted a business networking breakfast for people from the local business community. The hotel were expecting us an a room was laid out in preparation. The environment was clean and tidy and reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was well presented, plentiful and smelled appetising. Service was discreet and effective. The guests were not hurried. Car parking was plentiful and the outside area clean and tidy. All in all a most successful event. Well done the Manor Hotel. Comfortable bed, lovely staff and good breakfast when we eventually got a table! The room was £130 Executive mmmm well it was in a corner of the hotel so looked out at other rooms. The vent in the room did not work so it smelt a bit damp and the cupboard did not shut properly. Then we found that coach parties arrived so we ended up eating out and I must say the recommendation by the hotel was fantastic so thank you for that. Then in the morning we wanted to be somewhere by 9am so met our relatives at 8am. This was not possible as the breakfast room was full with the coach party. Why was we not advised of this booking by the hotel when I spoke to them direct on several occasions? I would have booked elsewhere! The poor staff on shift were run ragged and I felt so sorry for them. They did there best in a very bad situation and vastly understaffed!. We of course fed this back when we left. However to add insult to injury the lady who rang me to advise that I left my phone charger behind said she could send it back to me but at a charge of about £6! What after the fiasco that morning? You have to be joking. Luckily my husband has a spare so please feel free to keep it. Also the room does not look so good in real life as on the website. Obviously the rate charged is due to Brands Hatch being near by. Sorry but we won't stay here again even with such lovely staff. I also when I booked this room mentioned that we were celebrating my husbands birthday and would like a nice room but there wasn't even a mention of this or happy birthday for my husband so lack of attention to requests too.
I was part of a coach party of 27, staying for 5 days while touring the surrounding area. The food was very good and the staff extremely efficient and kept our rooms spotless. There was a mixed clientele of business people and holiday groups staying there but we never had to wait for service at meal times. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and you won't be disappointed
Really pleasant surprise. My son and I were actually staying at another hotel locally although there was no dining facilities. I had asked if they catered for non guests and they were so lovely as it was early to ask the chef if he minded cooking something for us as it was quite early for the full menu to which he agreed. Thank you so much the staff were so happy to help us and just so cheerful. Thank you
Hotel was in a great location, Lounge/Bar staff very friendly and helpful, food in the restaurant was really lovely and such great value for money, room was nice and clean, and very quiet. Breakfast was one of the best I have had in a hotel, cooked properly, not watering eggs, or soggy bacon, all cooked really well, would certainly recommend this hotel, and if all other Best Westerns are the same, I will pick them over others
A group of us have been staying at this hotel now for a month at a time over the past 3 years. Every member of staff went out of their way to look after us an make us feel welcome, treated us like their own. Lovely people, great food, really comfy and clean rooms, would definitely recommend this place to anyone who was thinking of staying in the area. We will certainly be going back again. Stevo
Stayed here over the past 2 years whilst studying in gravesend at over 3 week periods. One of the best hotels iv stayed in the service from the staff is fantastic any problems or questions you have they will sort it out with out any problem. The hotel its self is clean and welcoming in a great location great restaurant and food is brilliant Could not thank them enough for what the me and the group i was with really recommend this hotel.
I have stayed here 3 times over the last two years and have to say that I couldn't fault it. Never had a problem with the room, food, or staff. They are always friendly and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Always has a lovely atmosphere around the place and staying here either on Business or a family trip it doesn't matter! Ollie
Over the last two years I have stayed here three times and I couldn't fault it. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast and evening meals were really nice as well. Would definitely recommend for a business trip or a leisure stay.
Only stayed one night arrived about 6.30 pm cheerful whilst professional welcome the room was very clean and quiet no air con but very good fan as you are close to the A2 you can't have the windows open. Only had a bar meal but was very nice my first thought was a bit expensive but when it came there was loads.Breakfast was OK freshly cooked plenty of every thing . only one gripe they have a coffee machine self serve I can imagine at a busy time it would be a pain in the bum. Would I stay again of course I would.
Such a great service, all staff members were lovely. Lovely rooms and lovely food, couldn't get enough help from all staff members. Would recommend this to anyone, wether you're on a business trip or a family holiday.
We were attending a function and needed an overnight stay. Due to a tight schedule we had to drop our bags at the hotel and rush off to the function. The receptionist at the Manor Hotel was most helpful and volunteered to take our bags to our room so that we could set off. We had booked an executive room and have to say the room was very good value for money. Exceptionally clean and an amazingly comfortable bed! Breakast was most acceptable and again, everything was clean and bright. All the staff we encountered were efficient, knowledgable and most of all personable!
The staff was very good but the food let it down. The sandwichs was stale and dry, the scones was shop brought it's was OK. The cakes, fruit cake was dry, chocolate cake have to much coca and the lemon one was a bit wired. But we did get alot of tea about 3-4 cups each.
Edge of town location convenient for A2 but not town centre. Modern, system built, good parking, some common parts (particularly corridors) in need of a bit of decoration. Decent bar and restaurant with a better range of bottled beers than one might usually expect from similar establishments, although range of food available could be a bit more extensive. Expensive but reasonable quality breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff although found waste paper behind bin in bathroom. Room perfectly acceptable and equipped with all you need, quite quiet too notwithstanding proximity of busy road. Odd incident in the night when somehow the (supposedly) previous night's room occupier was able to swipe card and thus access into room very late and seemed surprised to find someone else in occupation. Not threatening or too uncomfortable at the time but in retrospect strange that this could happen. I'd have said 4 stars were it not for this. Does the job well enough and would probably stay again if say en route to channel ports and looking for a night to break the journey.
When you pay over £90 a night for a non refundable advance booking (exec room) you expect something better than a 1980s Travelodge......unfortunately that's not what we got. So the good things - the staff were pleasant, the room service pizzas were nice, plenty of car parking and the 'cold' spread and drinks at breakfast were fine. Tea, coffee and bottled water in the room was useful. The problem was all the not so good things: * Attempted to charge us £10 a night for a cot despite there being nothing on the website that informed us of this when we booked. We even requested a cot at the time of booking which just got ignored. Can't remember the last time a hotel tried charging us for a cot! * Hotel needs a refurb, the whole feel is very 1980s with the wallpaper/tiled corridors, room furniture and decor and the bathrooms with fixed shower heads! It looks as though they've tried to update the hotel but have missed the main problem areas. * The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the rooms around so with a combination of lots of banging and loud drunk people arriving back after parties it wasn't easy to get a good night's sleep. The road noise from outside (and I don't think we were even on the A2 side) didn't help either. * Hot food at breakfast was absolutely horrid, the full English was a plate of grease with canned tomatoes and fried bread that could kill, might be worth telling the chef that it is possible to cook a full English which doesn't give the guests a bad stomach for days afterwards! Overall, based on the ratings I was expecting far more. I honestly don't understand all the 5* ratings. If the hotel was £50-60 a night BB then I'd understand to some extent but when you're charging the same as actual 4 star or higher hotels then you need to deliver at least the same experience as those. Haven't stayed in a Best Western for years and won't be staying at one again - sorry!
Have just come home from the Best western manor hotel after having Afternoon Tea, it was brilliant there was so much to eat and drink we couldn't eat it all so the waiter Valentino gave me bags to bring the rest home. Valentino was an excellent waiter who was very friendly, polite and made sure our experience was special.
although the stay was fine and the hotel was pleasant and modern, was horrified by one member of staff(waitress) at breakfast in morning who belittled two people in front of me regarding using a hot drink machine provided for breakfast. If I ran the hotel she would have been dismissed if I got to hear of her attitude especially to a foreign tourist
Below average best western. Beer smelt of rotten eggs. They use a lot of salt in the restaurant. They food could be better but they use poor quality ingredients. Avoid the sausage at breakfast. I was here quite a while and they was burnt every day. If staying in Gravesend I would suggest avoiding this place. The rooms look ok. Bath taps difficult to operate with wet hands. The towels are poor quality and thread bare. There appears to be cars dumped in the car park as they did not move for the 4 weeks I monitored.
Very comfortable and clean room. The reception staff could not be more helpful and all those we met were very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel is very conveniently situated for visiting the area or stopping en route to the Channel ports and Eurotunnel. We were very well looked after and will visit again
Just can't thank all the friendly staff enough for a great weekend everything was perfect. The food was great hot and plenty of it and they looked after us so well I cannot not find anything to complain about it was excellent The hotel is situated just off the A2 so really convenient for exploring Kent But we did not hear any noise from the busy road So thank you again for a lovely stay
Pleasant stay and handy for Business staff always helpful rooms clean and tidy only problem WiFi a bit slow but all in a pleasant stay. i had a evening meal in the bar and could not eat it all as it was a large meal as it was pie week the flavour of the food was astounding
Have just stayed here with some colleagues and and enjoyed it very much. Nice executive double room, fab dinner, good selection of drinks in the bar and plenty of parking. The staff here are very friendly too, makes it feel like a home away from home.
Stayed here in order to visit an exhibition at ExCeL... Perfect location near Ebbsfleet Intl high speed train. My executive room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable super king bed. I had a couple of cheeky premium gin & tonics (nice to see fevertree tonic!) in the bar whilst watching the football and then a nice dinner in the restaurant. Staff were friendly too so all in all a very good stay and I will use again.
Staying at hotels can be and enjoyable experience however something that can be become cumbersome at many that are below the 4 star rating is the selection of drinks on the bar... The Manor isn't one of them! They had a fantastic selection of Kentish beers and ales and also several premium gins with Fever Tree tonics (my favourite!) which I got to enjoy! The rooms are well furnished, of a good size with a good bed ensuring a peaceful sleep. My bathroom had a nice range of toiletries too. We had dinner here (chicken stew with dumplings) which was great, good wholesome and homely food... compliments to the chef! All of the waitresses we very attentive. Plenty of free car parking for guests. The best thing about this hotel has to be the friendly staff. It is the firs time I have stayed here but I feel as though I have known a lot of them for years already. Sally the manager on the day and Valentino the Catalonian barman were very chatty and Nick the porter, a man of few words but always a big smile on his face :) All in all the stay was great, as was the price we paid and I can't wait for my next visit to the Manor!
great place for a group right on the A 2 so within easy reach of the whole of Kent. Rooms are very good, clean, and all that you could want for.Bed was very comfotable water was hot, shower was excelant.
We were invited to a wedding close to the hotel. We did not want to have to drive home after the wedding so booked in for one night. Instructions as to how to get to the hotel were not that clear !! How ever we eventually found it.We were shown to a large room with a large bed. The receptionist ordered us a taxi to take us to the wedding reception and to pick us up later all very friendly and helpful.Breakfast next morning was very good again helpful staff.
The heating system in the room not working when arrived. The room was freezing Shower temperature control not working. An slight turn was making the water to be very cold or very hot, so was not pleasant at all to have a good shower.
Stayed only for 1 night on my business trip. Location is quite convenient close to motorway with plenty of parking spaces around. Staff on the reception was very helpful and friendly, she even went out of the reception to show the way to my room. Hotel itself shows some personality comparing to Premier inn for example, but not as good as Best Western Market Harborough on the other side. Rooms are ok size but very outdated. Carpets dirty and tired looking. Two single beds instead of double bed, no fridge and no iron + board in the room. I can live without a fridge but iron on my business trip is a must. Couldn't get my shower head working so took a bath. There was two Champions league matches that night but not even one of them broadcasting on my room TV. Wi-Fi works fine. Breakfast in the morning is quite good with nice selection of full English buffet and continental breakfast. You need to get a code to open barriers when leaving car park, don't forget to take it from reception the same like me. Not sure If I will stay again. Convenient location, really friendly staff but a bit outdated hotel with no iron or fridge in my room.
had kingsize room - staff extremely helpful and friendly. nothing too much trouble. maybe softer pillows is the only thing i'd suggest. inroom wifi v good. hotel amentities smart and clean. didn't eat in restaurant- may do next time!
Pleasant, small hotel in convenient location directly off the A2 ideal for all coastal /Dartford Tunnel/M25/London journeys. Pleasant rooms and most helpful staff - good all round value for money. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
On the 15th January2016 we had a 5oth birthday meal for about 25 people which was being held at the Best Western Manor Hotel,Gravesend, so we decided to stay overnight. The meal was first class and staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Found all the staff the same from when we checked in to checking out.Rooms were very clean and beds comfortable, plenty of choice for breakfast.Downside our bedroom needed up dating but still comfy.
I stayed here for two nights on business. The reviews that I checked first did not seem too bad. I must say that I did receive a warm welcome on arrival on a Sunday evening and was able to order a sandwich from room service which came quite promptly and was acceptable. The hotel though is looking quite tired and my room was the same. I was given a room at the side of the hotel and though was near a busy road was quiet. The furniture and fittings were just as tired as the rest of the hotel. The bedding was clean on inspection but I think the pillows could do with replacement. The bathroom was very small with soap and shampoo in separate pump action bottles standing on the side. Though a minor point it is not very nice handling these bottles used by many guests and with labels that have clearly been in the shower and turning soggy. I am not at all sure how clean the carpets were. This hotel attracts lots of workmen, I saw a few in dirty overalls and boots. I understand that these men are working and that they do get dirty, but to then walk into hotel rooms with their dirty clothing on, as I saw, makes me wonder. Breakfast on the Monday was ok. There was a lack of fresh fruit, only tinned on offer. My breakfast was cooked to order and was nice. The next day was different. The hotel by now was much busier and it felt more like a glorified canteen. Self service, no fresh fruit and tinned tomatoes on offer, I have not seen these in hotels for years. On the plus side, location is good, just off the main A2, good car parking and free wifi. If you are in the car park though be careful, there were lots of vans there straddling parking bays. I have marked this hotel as being average, it is at the lower end of that but not bad enough to be poor in my view. Most staff were friendly and helpful.
We have just had a great week in the Manor hotel. Manager and staff are all lovely. Breakfast always good , Pat and Fran are just the nicest ladies. They work very hard. Reception staff helpful and always smiling, Nick and Danny the managers are really very nice. This is a good clean hotel,we stay here twice a year. Rooms are very nice the towels are changed and everything is clean every day.
We had a really lovely stay before boarding our train to Paris for a holiday over half term. The family room we booked was perfect, it was a really large room with a divider between the "parents room" and the "children's room". Both areas had TV's in them that could be watched independently. Usefully, breakfast opens at 5.15 and my two eager children were the first through the door - the staff were incredibly accommodating and patient with my two excited children (and equally excited parents). Our taxi arrived (pre-arranged and paid for as part of the deal) within plenty of time for our train and we left our car at the hotel for the week - to be picked up on our return. This was a delightful start to our holiday and one we will definitely be doing again!
Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, good food. Convenient to Motorway network.WiFi sometimes a little bit temperamental. If you have an early start they will do a continental breakfast with fuss. Close to motorway network
The best Best Western I have stayed in to date. Quality of food great & good value, friendly team & willing to support where possible, accessibility great with ample parking, cleanliness of room & bathroom also very good. Only room for improvement was the mattress, although comfortable, it dipped on one side with wear.
Stayed for 2 nights, nice spacious room, clean and tidy with all amenities required for a short break, firm but comfortable bed, a good nights sleep. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. Very nice reception and bar / lounge area. An excellent stay, would throughly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a short break.
had a great experience here for friends wedding and stayed the night lovely clean room and beautiful breakfast too lovely staff all round would stay again but a bit ignorant as only live down the road
I was a bit twitchy about visiting after reading the review about the Shower, staff, food noise etc. I think I was in a different Hotel. Staff were friendly, Rooms fine, food good. However, on the Shower he does have a point, it it is less than useless! I checked the water pressure on both hot and cold it is fine. Then I spotted it!! the Economy Water saving Shower head! It could be an Eco Camel, we tried one at home and were not impressed. So you can save the Polar Bears and not use much water but the Guests ain't impressed. The other little gripe is the bathroom Fan run times were far too long. In Premier Inns etc they have them set to go off very quickly when you have turned them off. So apart from these 2 gripes, it is a good place to stay.
we booked this at short notice and was very happy. was greeted by two lovely staff who couldn't do enough in helping to make sure everything was in order. left my phone charger at home and one of the staff came up to our room with one for me to use. our room was very nice and comfortable lovely bathroom clean and fresh.only complaint was some inconsiderate guests who thought it would be good to talk very loudly at 3/4 in the morning and banging there doors.i did mention to reception staff next morning and a couple more guests had mentioned it also. with this in mind it did not spoil our visit. breakfast was lovely plenty to choose from very hot and very helpful staff. sorry didn't get names.overall our stay here was very pleasant.would definetly stay here again
They would be better having automated check in as the machine maybe happier than the staff. The rooms are very average. The problem is the road noise - the windows don't seem to close properly. The bathroom is a typical sized cheap hotel bathroom but this one had a really bad shower. The water pressure gave a little trickle of a shower. The bed was ok but as there is no air conditioning, no way to control the heating that was on, and the road noise too high to open the window, you may need to sleep on top of the bed to try to cool down. I suppose as the window was not doing much as a sound barrier then I should have opened the window. All in all, not a great place to stay as it is in dire need of an update....and a good clean. The carpets throughout the hotel are stained - horrible. At checkout - the key was taken and the receptionist said 'thanks'. Nobody asked how things were or how was the stay so taking that the check-in was as impersonal as the check-out I figured why waste my breath telling them how bad the room was. I just won't stay here again.
Stayed here last weekend whilst on a coach tour of London sights. Lovely and clean, well decorated and the food was good, particularly the breakfasts. Most outstanding, though, was the staff. So kind, friendly and all willing to go the extra mile. For a 3 star, this was so unexpected, not to say unusual and deserves a higher ranking. The teamwork amongst them was self-evident and it created a good atmosphere. Although it's a bit of drive into the city, am told that it's only about 17 minutes train ride in. Will definitely be back to use as a base to tour the Kent area and when visiting London, the prices there are getting too prohibitive. Lovely experience!
Spent a night at the Manor Hotel on a business trip. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room which was a twin was clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was nice but the choice on the menu was somewhat limited.Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. My only two real complaints would be the shower in my room (51) would not maintain a constant temperature ran hot and cold. Also there was some piece of plant or equipment which periodically came on during the night causing a vibration through the wall of the room behind the bed head. This woke me up a couple of times through the night. That aside this is a nice enough hotel.
What a Lovely hotel, helpful and friendly staff behined reception and the bar the food is delicious lots of room for parking and all for a reasonable price the rooms were spotless clean and the beds were extremely comfortable defiantly recommend
Very pleased with the room and all of the staff were very helpful Well priced and the breakfast was good as well Altogether very pleased would definitely return Joined their rewards system which seems a good idea No fridge I the room which is the only bad thing I can say but didn't say there was one but would have been nice
