We had a very nice stay at this Hotel, perfect for attending the cricket at The Oval. The Hotel is made even more special by the friendly, helpful , smiling staff. Alay on reception was so welcoming and helpful and a truly lovely lady welcomed us to breakfast nothing was too much trouble for her. We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was small but very adequate and we had a great nights sleep. Would definitely return
Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Perfect for business or pleasure. Nice and quiet part of London with car parking just across the road. Everything you need when staying away. I have stayed a few times now and each room I have stayed in has been really nice.
What a strange hotel. It took me a while to find the property tucked away down a side street. Rooms, clean and well decorated but tiny an stupid hot in the summer. The only window I had was a Velux in the ceiling. Right, breakfast that costs £20 Basically, you sit in reception and climb over staff and fellow guests to get access to the very, very poor breakfast offering. I would not waste any money on buying. Watching a staff member poach eggs in a microwave he pulled out of a cupboard and then open a tin of mushrooms and blast those in a microwave was shockingly entertaining. First and last time i will stop here.
Very friendly staff and definitely well cleaned room. The bathroom was also spot on and the location was perfect for me. The size of the room was enough for me but maybe not enough for bigger person. But this is London and I was happy with the service. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was 10/10 and that alone would make me a repeat customer if I am in the area.
Expensive hotel (over £200 for one night) so really expected something very nice. I was presented with a very basic and small room with no windows. There was a very tiny skylight away up in the corner which did nothing. Hotel was clean but that's the only plus. Very basic facilities. Price included breakfast which was a scant selection and hot food was of very cheap quality. Coffee was dreadful too. On a slight plus, all of the staff were friendly.
Stayed for one night on 14th June . Was very surprised by the amazing welcome we received at reception . The receptionist was friendly , helpful and informative . When we returned later in the evening we were met with the same welcome . It was very helpful that although a small hotel drinks and snacks were available to purchase in the reception . The room was quite small but was very well equipped and extremely clean . Would highly recommend this hotel , for location , cleanliness and customer care .
Our family of 4 had an unfortunate passport complication and we needed to suddenly find a hotel near the American Embassy. We were exhausted and discouraged. Landing at this little hotel was everything we needed in an emergency. We were received with SUCH kindness and professionalism. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The people at the front desk were very understanding of our immediate needs (we had no reservations) and got us all set up for the evening and for breakfast. They also steered us to an amazing Portuguese restaurant around the corner for dinner. So, all in all, a challenging travel day was assisted by this hotel and the kind people who work there. Thank you!
The room was small but had enough room, storage and facilities to make our stay comfortable. Was happy with the cleanliness of the room along with the friendliness of the staff. Was overall a lovely stay.
South bank lots of dining opportunities couple blocks away northern line 4 blocks away straight to theater district and Vauxhall for everything else
Pokey little hotel. Badly signed directions and signage.. Didn't sign up for email marketing yet the untrustworthy staff signed me up and put my details on the system. Poor and untrustworthy staff is a huge red flag. Will not stay in this hotel again..
The place was very modern, extremely clean, and staff were very helpful, willing to accommodate any reasonable request. Standard rooms are very small, but you don't need much more space than that if you're travelling for leisure. Very comfy bed! Second floor rooms are very quiet. Only “cons” is that the rooms even if they have a window the window cannot be opened to refresh the air, but that's in most hotels in the UK. Definitely will stay here again!
Good location. However, the noise from the pipework surrounding the room is incessant and incredibly loud in room 5. It is absolutely impossible to sleep in the room. Also - no window, only a skylight. Staff very friendly. I will definitely not stay here again, surprised that what seemed like a nice hotel had a room like this.
Super-comfortable and spotlessly clean with everything I expected and needed. Compact, cosy room and very friendly staff. A 2-night stay; room automatically made up beautifully on day 2. Convenient for Vauxhall Station and 40 minute walk along river to Westminster.
I had to attend a US embassy visa interview and decided to spend an extra day in London to catch up with friends. It's easy to walk past this hotel, as the entrance doesn't look like any main hotel entrance I've ever experienced, but once inside I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff. I asked to check in early and combine a business and leisure booking, which Vijay managed efficiently. The rooms are small, mine had a small skylight but I liked it, as it was nice to listen to the rain and get some subtle, peaceful ambient light. My room was modern, clean and I enjoyed my stay there. Breakfast seems to have good quality food with an adequate selection. It's a short walk to Vauxhall train and underground stations, with buses outside. It only took me 15 mins to walk to the US embassy, so location is perfect for this purpose. I'd be happy to stay here again in the future, and thanks to Vijay for sorting me out!
I booked a standard double room for myself and husband which was more expensive than a windowless room. The room we were given had a very small skylight but no window. I had also booked a room for my granddaughter and family for the night before our arrival and they were refused breakfast, even though I had paid for it.
The staffs were all friendly and helpful! They patiently answered my questions in great details. The room was clean and the location was accessible! There are bus links to the city centre and the US embassy is a 10-minute walk.
Lovely cosy room with great amenities. Lively comfortable bed. Great location for US embassy within walking distance. Hair drier cable was fraying and needed replacing as it was cutting out when using. Room was a little noisy with the doors surrounding In hallways and other rooms always slamming. Need dampening liners on door frames. Very kind and attentive staff members.
Hotel was easy to locate and Check in was seamless. I was directed to a room on the third floor which was small but well equipped and very clean. I didn't use the hotel wifi, but the instructions for connecting were clearly displayed. The room had a small window. Tea and Coffee facilities were supplied and were of a good standard. I slept well and woke feeling refreshed, The hotel was unexpectedly quiet! Breakfast would be my only negative point. served in the hotels reception area so you are sat eating while people are checking out. The food choice was varied enough on first glance but the hot offerings were cold, and not the most palatable. This paired with the environment left me feeling uncomfortable, so I chose to source alternative breakfast arrangements on my way to my first appointment.
Helpful staff. Our room was small as I was keeping costs down, the hotel moved us into a room with a skylight as some of them do not have windows but it was comfortable and very clean and neat with everything you need. Nice little hotel with quirky rooms. I would definitely stay there again.
Good and comfortable stay. Staff was helpful and everything was good including the breakfast. Room size could be a bit bigger but that is how hotels are in the UK. Early breakfast and checkin was available and I had a good sleep. That is all what you need from the hotel actually.
I was stuck in the UK with an expired green card. I was waiting for delivery of my passport and docs. All staff was helpful, kind and considerate. They all went out of their way to make a difficult situation as comfortable and easy as possible. I'm truly grateful.
Amenities not as per 3 Star. The size of the property is very small. There were not even wardrobes in the rooms. The staff was very helpful and courteous though. This is the definition of 3-star on google "3 star hotel will have a restaurant, gym facilities, a spacious lobby, and a conference room". This hotel had neither of these. They should not call themselves a 3-star. This was more like an inn
Overall great little hotel in a decent location. Very friendly staff and clean modern rooms. They are on the slight small size. It's in a decent area, about 8mins walk to Nine Elms tube station but would take you a good chunk of time to walk anywhere of significance outside of Vauxhall so you are reliant on tube or uber. I'd happily stay again.
One of the worst nights sleep for a long time. For £185 I was presented with a room that was so small ai could touch both sides with my hands and no windows. A single bed (which I was aware of) and a chair that I couldn't sit on without climbing over the bed. Room was clean and ensure was okay but the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Heavily worn with a dip in the middle. A cupboard with a single bed. Not worth the money at all.
The hotel is located in a quiet, residential area which is about 15 mins gentle walk from Oval Tube. The room was tidy and freshened every day. The staff I met were all very friendly and helpful. As I left for work just before breakfast started (7.30am), they kindly made me a breakfast to go. There is a Co-Op and Tesco Express within 10 mins walk and a choice of Italian and Portuguese restaurants just around the corner as well as a pizza place and burger joint. It would have been even better if breakfast could have been served earlier for those of us staying on business. Nice place, nice staff.
I would advise anyone booking this hotel to read the room descriptions carefully to avoid disappointment. Some rooms do not have a window. We booked a standard double using reward points, whilst the room was not large, it had everything you need for a 1 or 2 night stay. What you are getting is a comfortable room, 10 minutes walk from Vauxhall station and from there access into central London, at a considerable saving over a hotel in the West End for example. Close to the American Embassy, good buffet breakfast reasonably priced.
Really nice comfortable. No windows means basement. Room had all we need and was very clean, didn't have breakfast but smelt great. Great location few mins Uber to vauxhall station Would reccomend to anyone going to vauxhall to party
Really lovely stay. Had to do an emergency visit at the US Embassy. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and warm. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. 15 minute walk to the embassy. Would happily stay here again. Free WiFi was most welcome.
Room was standard, no frills and clean. Did the job for the purpose of the trip. Located within walking distance to the tube and pubs. Breakfast was tasty and great selection. Vijay the manager was exceptional, looked after me while I waited for my return train. He gets hospitality.
For a Best Western hotel, we found the room and bathroom very small and pretty pricey. However, it was comfortable and clean, and the staff were very helpful. Located a short walk from Nine Elms tube station.
Hotel was very clean. Marianna was SO helpful throughout our stay, she was very polite, funny, engaging, very knowledgeable...absolute brilliant! Vijay who checked us out also brilliant, had a great chat with him. Would definitely recommend just for the great service you receive.
My stay here was a little mixed as there was a major kerfuffle on arrival at the hotel. The hotel had my booking and I had confirmation of my booking and of payment too. The issue appeared to be that it was booked via Nectar Hotels and somewhere in the chain a payment from one company to another company had not been made properly and this meant the booking had been automatically(?) cancelled and marked as unpaid despite the hotel expecting me. To give credit where it's due, the lady on reception (sorry, I can't remember her name) was very pleasant, efficient and made several phone calls to try and remedy the situation whilst I also called Nectar Hotels to find out what was going on. Unfortunately, the whole procedure took over an hour and a half to remedy; meanwhile I had to wait in the hotel reception. The manager would not let me check in to my room until payment was made - clearly I wasn't about to pay the hotel directly (as he requested) as I had already made payment via Nectar Hotels. The manager either couldn't or chose not to flex the rules and allow me in to my room before payment despite the reception staff being in the process of sorting the whole debacle out with Nectar Hotels thus resulting in me being rushed for my evening appointments. Maybe if they do not trust Nectar Hotels to pay them they should not partner with them in the first place? Once I got in to my room it was pleasant and cosy although a little disappointing that at ~£200 a night the tea/coffee etc was not replenished for my second night. Breakfast was a basic help yourself affair but was on the whole good and tasty.
Th Hotel and the rooms are very comfortable. Just 5 minutes from the new underground station Nine Elms. The Manager and staff are professional guys. Veri nice boutique hotel in London. I suggest you!
We had booked a double room being very conscious that some of the hotel rooms didn't actually have any windows. We were surprised to be allocated a very dark ground floor room with a small skylight in the ceiling. We queried with reception as to whether we had been allocated a room that we had not booked as it didn't have a window. We were then advised that the skylight was classed as a window and that it was the basement rooms that had no windows. We asked to be moved to another room with a bigger window and the staff were happy to help us with this. We were given a first floor room with a window. Although this room was a bit lighter it was absolutely tiny. There was barely enough room to walk alongside the bed between the bed and the wall. To do so I had to walk sideways. We paid in excess of £400 for 2 nights and a felt that even at London prices this was very poor value for money given the size of the room. On the plus side the hotel was clean and the staff were very pleasant.
Very friendly and helpful staff (Mariana and Vijay). Wifi and service were excellent. Location of hotel is not the most ideal (10-15 minutes walk to Vauxhall underground station). There is a nearer station but access is through small roads. Overall very positive experience.
The manager, Vijay, is excellent. He was extremely welcoming and ensured our visit was enjoyable and hassle free. The hotel overall is similar to a boutique hotel. It is not a large hotel, but excellent value for money and in a great location relative to multiple tube and rail lines and restaurants in "Little Portugal". It can be extremely difficult finding a nice hotel in central London at a reasonable price, but you do have one here. Additionally, if you enjoy running, you are very close to the Thames with a great running path to Westminster and Big Ben.
Hotel staff were fantastic and helped us out so much as we had limited knowledge of London. We asked about sites, tubes, buses, walking routes, parking and more. They were fabulous and the location was perfect for our visit. Thanks so much.
Came for an over night stay with my family. It was a late check in and the staff were so accommodating to us. The following day we had something to do in the morning and may not have been back in time for check out. The team really worked around our needs and supported us with this. We also used the parking and this service was above and beyond as we parked longer than our stay. Over all really good service, friendly team and really clean rooms. Definitely would come back.
Just off the main road, not an obvious entrance. But a handy location for vauxhall station and the oval. I was given basement room as expected from my booking, so no window. Room was ok and clean. Bathroom fine. Room was not cleaned in the 3 days i stayed. Few hotel facilities, budget style hotel but not budget hotel prices.
A small hotel, very friendly, tucked away from the bustle but only a short distance from the city of London itself. Staff were helpful and polite. The manager was very helpful. He gave us directions, booked taxis and looked after our belongings while we went to the Embassy for interview.
Excellent customer service. Management went up and beyond on helping us with extending our stay at their hotel to directions to various tourist attractions. How to get there by bus and tube and local restaurants. Wouldn't stay any where else than here whenever we return to London.
Having booked this hotel once we arrived it was very disappointing. The location was very poor our room was overlooking hoses and the area was not conclusive to being comfortable to walk back to the hotel after dark. The room was very small and the bathroom was not clean even though this was an executive room. For the price I would definitely it recommend a visit.
Stayed here one night as the Holiday Inn next door is currently closed. We had an appointment at the US Embassy. Room was very small clean and well fitted. The shower was just warm. Booked bed and breakfast when I asked where we had breakfast I was told we had to collect a box in reception and eat in the small area in reception. We were on the understanding the breakfast was a full breakfast not a packaged box. We cancelled the breakfast and was told we would get a refund which to date has not arrived. A package box breakfast for £16 each is a joke.
Where do I start? My work colleague and I had rooms booked for 2 nights and left after 1… Room in a cellar with no window. Furthermore, only one staircase so a claustrophobic fire trap Asked to move to a room with a window and given inconsistent stories. I was told that it cost to upgrade, but I could; my colleague was told they were fully booked (a quick website check showed that to be untrue) Put up with awful room looking forward to “Hearty breakfast to keep you fuelled throughout the day” to quote the hotel website. It was a paper bag with a soggy croissant, a tiny cake and a couple of other items. Dreadful This is a Plus hotel, which, according to the BW website should be a cut above. No bar, communal area closed off (despite website claiming that there is a bar. Quite the worst hotel I've stayed in in Europe and North America Miss-sold in the extreme I've copied the website claims in case they're taken down and denied
Javed the manager was amazing, very friendly, extremely helpful and professional. Our room was small, but who needs a big room…It was cosy and the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, warm and quiet and good value for money. My mother who has mobility issues found the bathroom spacious and easy to navigate. The U.S. Embassy (where I had an early interview) is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride.
Good position and overall experience, the only issues I had were related to noises during the nights. I hope next time I'll have a better sleep. I'll take it in consideration for my next trips to London.
Aslan at the reception was a very welcoming host. Very friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Nice view from the hotel window, Comfortable beds, great shower and bathroom facilities. Room was very clean and decor was very modern. Would stay again
I've thought long and hard about whether or not to actually follow through with a review. I've stay'd at many best westerns all over the world. So I'm going to start with the positives. My first impression was actually decent. Yes the room was small. But this is London. The staff very friendly and engaging. Whatever my requests they were happy to try and meet. Until Saturday night ( 09/11/21). We came back to the hotel at 8ish pm and the room hadn't been cleaned or sorted. ( ie fresh towels / bed made / garbage sorted ) When I went down stairs to reception I was greeted with an unprofessional response. Instead of saying “ my apologies clearly House Keeping missed your room. … let me get you some fresh towels “. I got It's covids fault !!! And then it's my fault. Completely taken aback by reception's response. I honestly was left dumbfounded by what the gentleman said next. … “ are you mad at me or hitting on me ?” So BEST WESTERN what would u like me to do with this experience/ response. ? Cause this is beyond unacceptable.
We stayed in a very small room, the room was clearly designed for single occupancy. The room was very small with hardly any walk way to get into the bed. The bed is situated at the window, so no matter how tight you pull the curtains together be expected to be woken up with sunlight. The light switch to the bath room is broken so use with caution. With covid regulations you would expect a note or something to inform you that the room are sanitised, even more so when you visit a large city. If you want fresh towels don't expect them to be in your room, the hotel does not offer maid service if you are staying a few days. So do not expect your bed to be made or for fresh towels to be given to you this is because of covid regulations which is understandable. You only get one pillow per a person, so do ask kindly for extra pillows. However do not expect the pillows to have covers. The shower door folds in and there isn't much room for you to get in the shower and close the door. It can be done but expect difficulty. When we tried to find out why we hadn't had fresh towers we were Informed by a staff member “are you complaining or are you coming into me” Over all we were very disappointed that we were given one of the smallest rooms in the hotel a double occupancy (expect to be standing on each other.)
What a find this hotel is , we stayed whilst going to the test match at the Oval , and our stay was perfect. Friendly efficient staff who went out of their way to help you. The hotel is small but very clean and the rooms have all you need. Covid restrictions were still in place when we stayed here but the staff coped beautifully . We would recommend this great find to anyone as it is very handy for visiting London close to most of the attractions
The price was extremely reasonable for such a nice hotel! Staff were great and the room was beautiful. We were close to the Embassy! Very nice section of London to stay in. Close to nice cafes and train station
The place was lovely. Way beyond what I expected. The staff was very welcoming. It's not clear where the enterance was as it looks like a fire door maybe the enterence needs abit of something to say this is the way in. But the staff was lovely. The room was lovely and I would defo stay there again
One night stay for an Embassy appointment and on one of the hottest days of the year! We were upgraded and also the receptionist had put on the air con prior to us arriving late in the evening. No luggage store, although the website does say it has this, but if you only have a small overnight bag the Manager may be able to help you. Would highly recommend. Great value for money.
The hotel rooms are tiny, would only use for one night stay. Had to walk sideways either side of the bed as hardly any room. Not good value for £121.50! The dining room was closed due to covid so breakfast was given to us the night before in a bag...bag consisted of a mini fairly stale croissant and mini muffin, a carton of juice, cereal bar & a yogurt (which was very warm as no fridge) Room was very clean & modern
i stayed here for one night, as i has to visit the US Embassy, which close by. I have to say i wasn't disappointed with this hotel. This hotel was a little gem. The check-in was quick and easy and Fayed explained the covid rules and i was on my way to the room. I was in room 16. The room was perfect, just right for me. It was clean and very modern. The bathroom was nicely turn out, i loved the small floor light which comes , which means you don't have to put the main light on, if you need to go during the night. The room had a flat screen tv ( plenty of Channels) and a coffee and tea tray. I had wonderful nights sleep and for the price i paid, i was very happy with my choice of hotel. Would i stay here again? of course i would. Just a Perfect hotel and thank you to the staff.
We (wife and I) needed a very quick one night stay in the Vauxhall area to get to the US Embassy early the next morning. The hotel is close but we did need a cab to get to the embassy the following day as it was pouring with rain. Apparently it's a 20 mins walk but too long in the bad weather. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet road and is not the biggest of places, in fact most aspects of the hotel are small. The receptionist (I think his name is Fahad?) was very good, booked us in quickly and help us with several things. We were upgraded to a junior suite (great) but it was not the biggest of rooms and had no window - something I have seen reported in several other reviews. However, it was very clean, well decorated, air conditioned and had a small but modern bathroom. A strange point was that the electronic key system wasn't working so Fahad had to let us into our room if we both left, which we did only to eat. We were aware there was no breakfast available (Covid) and the dining options would be very limited given London had just gone into tier 3 the previous day. We took a brief trip to an off licence just down the road for a couple of drinks and ordered a takeaway. This arrived (excellent Indian food from Munbai Delight) but then realized we had no eating utensiles. Fahad again came to the rescue supplying plastic spoons and we sat in the deserted breakfast area and enjoyed our food. The bed proved very comfortable and we slept well. In summary this was the ideal hotel for this trip. Convienient, clean and great value given the cost of the room was less than £50, fantastic for central London. Other rooms may be pretty small and I could not stay in a room with no window for more than a couple of nights but it was perfect for our needs, made better by the services of Fahad.
Stayed here 1 night because it was near to Embassy in which we needed to go. Check in very easy and quick, had a basement room (no window), room had double bed, 2 side tables, a chair, tea & coffee making facilities, TV and a lovely modern bathroom. Everywhere seemed very clean, we knew there was no facility for breakfast (Covid). Walkable from Vauxhall underground in around 5 mins. Lovely walk along the Riverfront to Vauxhall Bridge and then further into the Westminster area. Would stay here again if got a good price like this time.
Functional franchise of the Best Western group I arrived to find I had been upgraded to a double room on the first floor. Which was certainly compact, no room for a proper wardrobe. But more importantly it was clean and tidy as was ensuite bathroom. Warm too and quiet, although the walls a tad thin. Staff friendly and helpful. For those on a tight budget good value. Be aware the lift is on the small side.
My wife and I had to make a quick business trip to London so she reserved a room at a hotel in Vauxhall, London, for the night of September 1, 2020. For reasons not explained, the hotel moved us to the Best Western Plus just across the street. Although the accommodation was modern, we discovered only one bath towel; and the bed only had two pillows. When I enquired at the front desk, I was informed there were no more available. I also requested two bottles of water, but the young lady told me she didn't have keys to the refrigerator. We also discovered the baskets in our room had no plastic linings and there was not proper place to dispose of sanitary pads. Needless to say we will not be staying with Best Western again.
Book a room for the weekend. When checking into the hotel I was asked to wait for the manager to comeback as the guy behind the desk was having a problem, had to wait for around 30 mins to which no one came and strangely I was able to get my room key. Room was nice but the bathroom was unclean and damaged. There was no toilet paper to been seen and the television remote was missing. The room wasn't refreshed with fresh towels on the next morning nor was it touched by the house keeping. We stayed on floor one which had a very strong smell of Marijuana which was concerning as they were non smoking rooms. Will not be staying here again.
Stayed here on a short visit to London. Very smart compact hotel, all newly fitted out. Very clean, friendly service & good wifi. There is also a very good cafe around the corner (Wedding House Patisserie) with good food, value & friendly service. Would definitely come back!
Arrived quite late to the hotel ready and preparing for a late meeting call and an early meeting at a company and the wonderful person at reception was very welcoming and kind. The location is excellent and a quick trip on the tube from Paddington and the hotel itself is tucked away from the main road so really quiet and private. The facilities are lovely, bed super comfy and room a very good size. Excellent bathroom and shower! Really no complaints about the hotel but really what made my day was the staff (Eliza) who welcomed me after a tough day of travel.
If you beed to go the US embassy, this hotel is a perfect choice! Very close and easy to get there and Vauxhall station is between the embassy and the hotel. The staff was veeery friendly and made me feel like at home. Room was nice and clean, slept well.
This was our 4th or 5th visit here - convenient small hotel with friendly staff and clean, well equipped rooms. As with many London hotels, the rooms aren't enormous but they're very adequate and comfortable. As with previous visits, we didn't go for the in-house breakfast, opting instead for the Portuguese cafe on the corner with South Lambeth Road - friendly and serving a good variety of food. I'm sure we'll be back again.
Don't stay in Room 1! Its like there is a whole room of industrial washing machines above your room and they are on all day and night! Perfect for a good night sleep!!! Apart from that everything else was fine.
If you're out for a night in Vauxhall as we were, this is a great location and I think our room had recently been decorated. Small, but had everything you'd need. Quieter than budget hotels nearer the tube station. Service was excellent.
Reasonably priced, friendly staff and clean...I could want nothing more for a no frills business sleepover in London. It was safe and secure and the rooms were on the small side but still spacious enough not to feel cramped.
The hotel looks freshly renovated, the furniture and finishings look brand new. The staff is great, really eager to help, my hat's off to them. The rooms are rather small, but surprisingly efficient, while it did look small (i am a big fellow) i didn't actually bump my head on anything, and even the shower is large enough. All in all, a very nice place, great staff and affordable rates. Would have loved it, if they also had a restaurant or bar.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody needing to stay in that area. It was secure, it was clean, it was quiet. The breakfast was good. The staff where fantastic especially Eliza. Hotel is in a good location and was reasonably priced.
Very clean hotel, location is just 10 min walk from Vauxhall station, quality/price ratio is high. For a short stay it is fine. Staff are friendly and helpful. You are guaranteed a good night's sleep in this hotel.
On the 4th night of a 12 night stay, I came back to a leak from a light fixture in the bathroom. It was not fixed until the next day because the hotel deemed it “not an emergency”. On the last night of my stay, I was awoken at 2:40 AM by a man entering my room. He had checked in to the hotel, and was given keys to my room, even though I was still in it. I called the front desk and was blown off. It wasn't addressed with me until I brought it up again upon checkout. This put my safety at risk, and the hotel did nothing to address it. I have reached out multiple times, but no one has gotten back to me.
Super Duper hotel near the Oval. Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of restaurants nearby by. Compact room but very clean with all the amenities. Would definitely come back again. Thanks Eliza!
I'd booked a single room with no window. When I got there they said that they had 'upgraded' me from the basement to a room on the top floor. Lovely, thought I! So the room I went into had a window - a skylight - but also had patches of what looked like polyfiller on the walls where it was obvious something had been removed and the holes filled in! The room itself was okay - very small indeed with a small double (4ft) bed and a shower ensuite, which were fine. Seemed clean and was comfortable, but I wouldn't recommend it for more than a single night - I would think it would feel extremely claustrophobic after a while. Oh - don't listen to people who say it's just next to Vauxhall station - it's not. It's a 10 minute walk from Vauxhall Station and slightly more from Oval Station. It's tucked round a small backroad and is not well signposted, so you could easily miss the entrance.
I stayed for one night and really liked the hotel. The lady on reception, Eliza was really welcoming and helpful and made sure I had a good room. The room smelt lovely and was well appointed. The hotel is small and really quiet so good if you like a peaceful place to stay. It's also great value for the area.
Affordable price for the modern-looking room and bathroom! Clean and good basic amenities were provided. Good location that is close to bus stops. However, the room had a marijuana odor that did not go away during time of stay.
I have stayed for the Christmas Holidays. The whole hotel is conveniently located and comfortable. In addition, the hotel staff are an absolute credit to the owners of Best Western Plus. We have received a very warm welcome from Eliza on the arrival but additional prise to the housekeeping staff. The room was absolutely clean and well organised for my whole stay. I have enjoyed breakfast and the coffee was amazing. Can't wait to go back to London and stay again!
Hotel is very clean and tidy. The room was a bit small, but I'm 6'4", 240lbs. so everything is small to me. The staff was pleasant and Eliza at the reception desk is nice and very welcoming. I would come back again most definitely!
Nice clean small hotel for a business trip for one person I guess, however when it comes to the longer stay the room is very small, not enough space to move, no wardrobe or shelving. Very helpful, friendly staff, clean rooms. I wouldn't recommend to pay extra for breakfast, terrible experience. Some bars and cafes around instead.
Checked in for New Years with my friend as we were going to Ministry of Sound near by, we were told by Eliza in reception that she could upgrade us, we found her particularly friendly and polite and we were really grateful for the upgraded room!
Staff so helpful, helped with documents and advice. Room was great- clean, nice size, new bathrooms/ modern hotel. Bed comfortable. They also held my bag so I didn't have to carry it around / store it else where in London. Only about a ten minute walk to the embassy- also quick and accessible from heathrow airport on the tube. I haven't got anything negative to say about this hotel! Thank you!
Was staying at the best western for a night and needed some help to print a document and Jebr, working at reception, did a fantastic job in helping me resolve my problem. Was also incredibly friendly and well spoken.
This Hotel is clean and quiet i would recommend anyone who need an USA Embassy visit or anywhere in the embasy quater to stay here, as explained clean and quite, and BANA on the breakfats was an Angel very helpful and polite.breakfast was pretty good as well for a drop in hotel.
Stayed the night before our interview at the US embassy. Rufi the manager was great. Not only did he sort us out with a room upgrade but we were able to check in early too. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The room was clean tidy and spacious and was a great overnight stay prior to our interview.
Stayed here for business for one evening. The staff were very friendly, the room was exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable! I was also allowed to check in slightly early which was a great help. Would definitely stay again.
Booked this hotel on their Day Use rate of £47, which gives access from 9am til 2.30pm, as I was landing into London from New Zealand early morning and needed somewhere to shower & sleep ahead of an evening function in the city. My flight was delayed, meaning I didn't arrive at the hotel until 11am. There was absolutely no flexibility for me to extend the room beyond 2.30, even by offering to pay for it. The gentleman on reception was very matter of fact about it, and showed no real interest or compassion, saying that check-in for evening guests was at 3pm, so they needed the room back. They even give you a wake-up call at 2pm to make sure you get out on time! Worth noting if you're planning to use this place for day use. They'll take your money but aren't so interested in customer service. You only get the time period you pay for (5.5 hours) if you arrive bang on 9am! The hotel itself is new, 5-10 min from Vauxhall Station, and is well appointed if a little on the cosy size.
Great hotel and certainly value for money in london. Checkin was easy and efficient and the rooms were outstandingly clean and refurbished. I can totally recommend staying here if your in the Vauxhall / victoria area. It is tucked away and maybe hard to find but once you do, you wont be dissapointed
Stayed here for one night, and everything was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful, room and facilities were fine, and breakfast was reasonable and varied enough. Special mention to the thick curtains in my room which allowed no light in at all. Perfect for sleeping in in the morning!
Specula thanks to Eliza for being so helpful and friendly. Big bed; clean, comfortable, good shower, very peaceful yet only a 10 min walk from Vauxhall tube/bus station. Would happily return and recommend.
Eliza made our stay perfect absolute gem and great service best hotel in London I was impressed by her accommodating us and offering excellent service the manager is very nice too great value for money
The Entrance of the hotel is small but nice, with the reception desk and the few breakfast tables all in one place. We had a family room, 2 connecting rooms, very small with very small beds and one of the room had a window that you couldn't lock and a heating that did not work, so we were freezing. None of the rooms had a closed wardrobe. The breakfast was simple but ok. The people were very nice and helpful but couldn't fix the heating.
Stayed here with a friend as he moves around DJ so we stay in a lof of hotels in different cities. Everything was fine until I paid for late check out which was £30 not cheap as we were going to be coming in early morning and wanted to get some sleep before our train. Check out was 11am I paid until 2pm for late check out. At 11.45am the housekeeping woman banged on the door and woke us up even tho there a as a do not disrub sign. She said it's check out time I tried to tell her I paid for late check out thought she understood me and then I tried to turn over and then 10 mins later she then banged again by which time we were already been woken up she was obviously dieing to get rid of us. We got up and we're that angry we didn't even shower we were gone just after 12 and absolutely knackered as a consequence. By the time we got to sleep etc it was around 7am which is why I knew this and paid for late check out and then was practically thrown out of our room. I always say it's not the problem it's how they solved it but I told the reception on my way out and explained why I was checking out early and he said there nothing he can do. no sorry no nothing just said that and that's it. And then I called booking.com and they called the hotel and got back to me basically said they were waiting for the manager that was a few weeks ago and nothing has happened. Clearly not bothered about customers I wouldnt return next time I'm in London Ill stay somewhere else. Pity cos the room was nice but no good if you can't sleep is it
Hotel is very close to American embassy, walking 15 to 20 mins or taxi 5 mins. Hotel is very clean however very small. Room was tiny with not much storage. Ensuite, again very small and no storage for toiletries. In total very clean but small hotel with big prices
A suitable hotel for a short stay. It was clean, the staff were pleasant and the breakfast was included. It was functional and I would have no issues returning for another stay the next time I'm in London on business.
Guest guide in room stated that dinner options were available via reception. Having got changed and settled down to work in the room, told this was not actually correct. and had to roam the streets instead. Door from street is permanently locked and you had to 'bump' the door to get through when it was buzzed. May need some WD40! 'Free' internet also indicates there is a 4GB cap on the connection. If you are streaming netflix of similar you can hit this pretty easily. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, and room was comfortable though a little weird as it had an automated skylight / blind that kept doing things by itself. Makes you jump as it's right over the desk! Light fitting hanging out of the ceiling the the bathroom. For the cost (£200/night) i would expect a lot better
We needed to be near the US embassy and this was perfect and also close to underground and buses. We had a really good week sightseeing and this was a good location for seeing everything. The room was internal with a skylight and it was just right for us, lacking a wardrobe or drawers but did have a hanging space . Rafi on the front desk was a superb concierge he went above and beyond for us he is excellent at his job!
The hotel is small but very clean and stylish. It was very quiet and peaceful when I arrived. There was parking right outside. Free between 6.30pm and 8.30am. Otherwise you have to pay. The staff (Eliza) was very helpful and friendly, she also helped with the parking application. I staid in the executive room. Very spacious and the bathroom had a large shower. The bed was a double and very comfortable. The room was on the ground floor with a skylight. I guess the room is in an extension behind the building. My only issue was there was a window above the skylight which ment whoever stays in that room could see down into my room and see half the bed. So privacy was a little of an issue if your worried about that sorta thing. You have a kettle and condiments, hangers for clothes and a safe.
It was a amazing service by all the staff, but the stand out person was Fahad as he went the extra mile. He was polite and helpful, also the hotel was central and clean. Nothing was to much to ask by them
Hotel room is nice and the staff is very helpful. Eliza is great. Would definitely recommend to stay if you are going to US embassy. Very quite neighborhood. A little bit hard to find But inside is very nice. Breakfast is good too
I am staying at the Best Western Hotel Vauxhall due to having a US visa appointment at the Embassy& I noticed it stated it was around a 10 minute walk to get there from the hotel. After getting off my train I checked in with Eliza who was super helpful& polite giving me all the information I needed about my room& the hotel. Once I dropped my bags off I walked to the embassy to see how far it was, this took me no longer than 10 minutes to reach (fast walker) so the hotel location was absolutely perfect for me! Once I arrived back at the hotel due to me being on my own in a single room (no problems with the room, clean&modern). I went back to the reception to ask if there was any availability to upgrade my room to a double and got an upgrade right away! Eliza again helped me at the reception, she was so pleasant, welcoming& nothing was too much to ask, she really made my stay here so much better! The new room is much bigger and my bed is so comfy, just what I've needed! ❤️ Will defiantly be recommending this hotel!!
Went to watch cricket at the Oval walkable distance from the ground 10 minutes max. Hotel is located in a safe location walked back to the hotel after the match. 24hrs reception with great staff who want to help.
If your going to the US embassy this is the perfect hotel for you. The staff were amazing and helped with restaurant recommendations the room was perfect very modern and clean. I had a great night sleep and will be staying here again when I next need to take a trip down to London. 5-10 minutes walk to everything you need such as supermarkets, restaurants, bars, train station and the US embassy!!
Great service from ELIZA. I came in at around 8 at night and I was shattered after a day of travelling. She was smiling and had my room ready in seconds which was what I needed after such a long day!!
We stayed here for 2 nights and it's a really nice hotel. Very modern, very clean and most importantly (for us at least) very quiet. The staff were all lovely and the breakfast provided was well cooked and brilliant value. The only downside was the size of the room, it was very small and it was difficult to get out of each side of the bed without bum shuffling to the bottom. The window was very high up the wall, my husband (over 6ft tall) could just about reach to close the curtains. I gave 5 stars because despite the size of the room, I would come back to stay based on all the good points.
Very clean and very modern. Helpful reception staff. Rooms small. Twin Bedded room for one person turned out to be a single bed. I was told that the American description when booked for one person. A suite was an average size double room with a small table and two small chairs. Not my idea of a suite! Both rooms had a ceiling velux window so no view which is a big negative. Fairly expensive for what it is, but the cleanliness made up for most of the negatives.
Hidden Jewel in Vauxhall. Beautiful, tiny hotel, extremely clean, comfortable. It offers service of breakfast, but unfortunately it's limited to "English breakfast". If you have dietary requirements (Kosher, or Halal) this is not the place to eat. There is alot of pork going on, in here. The hotel is across the road from Holiday Inn. I would definitely come back.
Very Clean and tidy room with super fast WiFi. The room had plenty of space for activities. I was greeted by Eliza who was very welcoming and helpful. Would recommend to anyone staying in the local area.
I stayed in this hotel for a week twice this July. At first the reason was to find a nice quiet hotel that "has its personality" (i.e. not belonging to a worldwide hotel chain) near the US Embassy to stay while applying/waiting for a US visa for a reasonable price near the underground station. Second time I booked it as the hotel and services exceeded my expectations during my first visit. This hotel fits the above requirements completely. It is very nice and with no fuss of a large hotel, every guest is treated as a very good friend, and it is not at all a formality. They are always ready to advise where to eat, where to go, what tour to choose, how to get to this or that place, they do not have a business center, but when asked they print the documents, arrange for a tour or taxi, etc. They provide UK chargers for fee, extra things for the bath upon request, etc. The rooms are clean, although rather small but it is typical for London hotels. The beds are comfortable, the automatic light in the bathroom, adjustable air conditioning system in the room, TV , hairstyle, etc, i.e. all standard set for a good hotel. The breakfast is very nice, with a large choice of food, and I'd like to pass special thanks to Bona, the lady arranging and managing breakfasts, Bona does a great job! The location itself is quiet and safe, the hotel is within 7-10 minutes' walk from Vauxhall underground station or just in 2 bus stops from it (bus stop is in 2 minutes', you need just to turn around the corner, the same bus (#2) will bring you to Victoria railway station (it takes 15-20 minutes depending upon the traffic). I will definitely choose this very hotel next time when in London. I'd like to thank the hotel manager, Ruffi, he helped me a lot every time I addressed to him, he runs a hotel at a very high level even not having all these huge resources of large chain hotels. I'd highly recommend this hotel, and if you plan to get a US visa - it is perfect choice as it is in 12-15 minutes' walk from US Embassy.
Got a great deal at this hotel from the Best Western website as I'm a member - double room for £54 for a Friday night in Central London! On arrival, I was greeted by Sodril and he couldn't have been more friendly and I was made to feel very welcome in the hotel. The room was a decent size and spotless and in a great location between Oval and Vauxhall tube stations. The shower was great and I had a very relaxing stay. You also feel very secure here as your key is required to gain entry not just to the hotel main door but also in the lift to get to your room! I would definitely recommend this hotel in the future.
Had a great stay at this hotel with my Mom. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the automatic night-light in the bathroom so you could use it at night and not be blinded by the full lights. Fahad at the desk was very kind and welcoming, and was very helpful in sorting out some issues we had, it's much appreciated!
Stayed here as good location for US embassy, cheapest room was a small single for £130. Was okay for one night but very warm and only had a window in the roof. Okay location, would consider staying again but nothing special. Nice welcome and check out at reception was good.
When we arrived we were greeted by Eliza who was very welcoming and answered any questions we had. We came to our room.which was clean and cosy and were very happy with it. If you are in the area definitely recommend staying here :)
We stayed here for two nights around Wimbledon, as Vauxhall station is direct to Wimbledon. The rooms were quite small, however incredibly well appointed and looked to be almost brand new. It was very cosy and we were both incredibly happy with our rooms. They ever offered a small smart phone for tourists to use in the city to help them get around, I think it was free. The food options here were very limited though, which was a shame as it would have finished this hotel perfectly.
Room initially booked through Booking.com at £32. This was then cancelled as told it was a mistake. Offered a windowless room for half price- but this was £110 but only £170 on website. The bed was a small double and no hot water for a shower and breakfast poor - old fruit, scrambled egg and cheapest of bread. When the lack of hot water was reported to the manager (along with 2 other guests) he was argumentative and somewhat aggressive and no compensation offered to anyone. The cleaner reported the boiler was on the blink, so this was not a new problem. This hotel does serious damage to the reputation of Best Western Hotels.
The hotel itself was impeccably clean. We paid £126 for a time room with slanted wall that I had to bend down to get into bed. If the room was bigger for cheaper there would be no complaint. We had a tiny window near the ceiling that we had to get on a chair to open.
We booked and paid for a room 3 months ago (as a birthday treat) through Hotels.com and received confirmation. On arrival at the hotel we were told that our booking had been cancelled (by the hotel) due to a pricing error, we had not been informed of this nor received a refund. The hotel accepted no responsibility and told us to go back to Hotels.com. Hotels.com were incredibly helpful, they had no record of the booking being cancelled and spoke to the receptionist who informed them that the booking had been cancelled by the hotel. We had a dinner booking (which we were late for) followed by the theatre, Hotels.com kept us updated all evening as they were trying to find us alternative accommodation in the same area, unfortunately we were unable to answer several calls from them as we were in the theatre at the time. In the end we made the decision to take the train home. On the train we received an email from Hotels.com to say that Best Western had found us alternative accommodation in the hotel near them at no extra charge. By this time it was too late as we were going home, Best Western should have taken responsibility and sorted this at 4.30 pm when we tried to check in not at 10pm at night! We had to take our luggage to the theatre (uncomfortable) had to cancel our plans for the next day. I cannot fault the service from Hotels.com however, despite an email to the CEO of Best Western, I have still not received a response, another example of their poor customer service!
My fiancee and I had such a great experience in this hotel. We arrived almost 1am, tired, really hungry and unfortunately almost everything around was closed. We were so lucky to have Mohammed as the receptionist that time (We were there on May 11th), He was so kind to us, helped to find a good place to eat, gave us so many nice tips from London... Mohammed made our night much better! It is really good to receive this really warm welcome after such a long day that we had. We had an amazing time at this hotel :)
The hotel was very pleasant and well situated, but we paid £10 extra (an option at booking) for a room with a window and on arrival discovered this 'window' was in fact only a skylight. We didn't feel this was in the 'spirit' of the original additional payment for a window, but as we were only there one night and needed to get ready to go out, we let it go. Plus, we weren't sure if they would argue that a skylight IS a window - perhaps they have rooms with no external light at all. However, there was no blind or way to cover this skylight so light flooded in at 6am, waking us up - we had planned a leisurely start to the day having had a late night so this was an added negative. So - if you don't mind about no windows and don't mind the 6am sunshine acting as an alarm clock, the hotel is fine, but otherwise ask the question 'when is a window not a window' and clarify this on arrival. The room was also very small, although this in itself wasn't a problem for us:0)
As the room was booked a few hours before being used the choice was limited. I ended up with a basement room with no windows - knew that before booking. was not expecting it to be only slightly larger than the bed and not much lighting to make up for the absence of windows. No minibar in the rooms. No bottle opener in the rooms for bottles bought at reception. The £12 breakfast turned out to be 'continental' with just cereal, yoghurt, scrambled / hard boiled egg and a few processed baby bell cheeses. not a sausage in sight and a very expensive room for what it was - more like a £55 booking and not the £120 charged.
Have had to stay here on a last minute work trip this evening. Two no-go's for me: 1) Was given a basement room with no windows with absolutely no advanced notice, and as they are full apparently I'm unable to switch rooms. Traveling from the US, having no natural light in the morning means a prolonged jet lag. It's a basic human need, and if some people are okay with it, then the hotel should at least inform the guest upfront. You shouldn't have to ask for a bloody window. It also means no phone service.. 2) The walls are paper thin and all I can hear are girls laughing and screeching in another room. If I had arrived any earlier I'd be booking myself into the Holiday Inn next door just to get out of this tiny basement room. Not a nice hotel.
We stayed here for two nights when my boyfriend and I wanted to do some sight seeing in London. Great, friendly customer service and very clean, comfortable room (the clean smell hit us as we walked in), the appliances were very good too. The tube and train station are only a 5 minute walk away so very practical. I couldn't fault my stay here and would highly recommend it :)
Disgusting stain on bed sheets, no towels on arrival, hairs in the shower. Much smaller room than shown in pictures. When we complained, the room was still not cleaned or sorted until 2.30pm. Staff were lazy and there was a real lack of care or concern. They had no sense of urgency to solve our issues. Will never stay in a best western after this experience again.
Relatively close to 2 tube lines (Stockwell 15 Min walk and Vauxhall10 Min walk) this hotel was an easy going, relaxed affordable place for us to stay for the weekend. The bathroom wasn't spotless, and the rooms are quite small, but for the price, I was happy :)
Room is good, but there was boiler next to the room and the room is not sound proof. Checked in late night, very disturbed sleep. Ground floor room and staff aware of the situation. Anyway, avoid staying in ground floor/near to boiler. Room is very tidy and comfort.
I had to find a hotel as an American last minute traveller in a new country and I was lucky to find availability in a familiar chain. I enjoyed my stay, though I've heard many complaints of small rooms. I was traveling solo so the compact size of the rooms did not make me any more or any less uncomfortable. You'll find the same size rooms in trendy Mid-town Manhattan. I think the comfort of the beds and linens were able to make me feel at home. Though I will say the rooms were a bit chilly, I was content with my stay and would happily stay again. Comfy bed, four walls and clean linens and toilet. The service was excellent, and I was very happy with how I was taken care of by Sutrue, and Fahad. Lovely, attentive. It'll do in a pinch.
This hotel unfortunately does not maintain minimum room temperatures so I returned at around midnight to a freezing room. Heating system took about an hour plus roads the room temperature and had the worst night sleep in any hotel I've stayed in. furthermore towels were stained and and inexperienced staff.
Had stayed here on a business trip. Room was cosy and comfortable. No windows though. Can opt for room with open to sun -overhead window which can be opened and closed, which i found is good. Service and courtesy of staff is excellent. Close to Vauxhall station and also just hop across the road for the bus stops. Is homely too!!!
This hotel was a fantastic price and good value for money. We stayed for a night and was a good location to Vauxhall tube station (roughly 5 minute walk) making for easy access to the rest of the city. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel felt secure and the reception seemed to be manned no matter what time of day. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend others to.
Clean. Tidy. Modern. Rooms very compact. Staff very friendly. 10 minute walk from a Vauxhall Tube Station. 10 minutes by bus or tube to Clapham Common plus restaurants. The roads can get very busy first thing in the morning as anywhere in London.
I've stayed in hotels all over the world including some of the top hotels . This hotel is the most peculiar place I've ever stayed at . On first arrival , nicely decorated > then little details start to become obvious. The heating doesn't work , the windows are opened and left open after cleaning, and there was a spider on the bed , then an insect flying about the room !! the reception girl has bad attitude. I was accused of smoking in the room after two men in security uniforms abruptly were sent up , then the next day was confronted by the clerk at the front desk in a loud voice in front of customers.... I don't smoke and detest the smell of smoke !! I've never been so insulted in my life . I was then accused of complaining about the cleaning staff coming into my room , which I absolutely did not , and was informed that no cleaning staff had been evident on their CCTV !!!! I was stunned because I couldn't imagine what this man was talking about . They have a menus whereby you can order food from local eateries > over an hour goes by and the food still isn't there !!!! They call you to ask if you need your room cleaned > even you have the “do not disturb” sign on the door > invasion of privacy !! Never heard of that in a hotel.... They have a buffet type bar ; and one night when I picked out some chocolate bars and crisps , the night duty clerk jumped up and - again in a loud voice - yelled “you gotta pay for that!” ...... WTF ???? The room next door had a guy coming in and out at a peculiar frequency and each time the door bangs shut . Totally peculiar hotel !! It's not cheap , and feels expensive for what it is . They have one of those card operated elevators which means that you can't invite people to your room .. unless you go down to pick them up > not an option when you're waiting for a date in your dressing gown . I just find that this kind of checking on guests is unforgivable . At check out , the manager apologized profusely and had the gall to offer me rooms at a cheap rate if I wanted to stay again > not in a million years . Totally ridiculous establishment > I never heard of or experienced that kind of thing - EVER !!
The hotel is hidden behind a street in a nice enough area. There isn't too much to do there and it's about a 20 min walk to the nearest sight seeing attraction, or even metro station. The room though is quite lovely. Very modern and clean. Bathroom is a large size with a tiny shower. The bedroom was a good size and we had a double size bed. The staff were polite but didn't seem to be to helpful. We asked some questions about the area and inquired about some hotel services, and they didn't really provide much assistance. Not rude or anything, just not very helpful. Overall very happy with our stay. The only downside was that because of the location we spent quite a bit of money on taxis and Uber to get into town. I'd recommend a stay if you're trying to stay in that area in general. Great on a budget, but it ends up adding up if you factor in the transport fees each day.
All throughout my three day stay here, without fail, the staff were great. They were smiling and welcoming each time I came across them. Really makes a traveller feel great! And it is something that is so easy to do! As for the premises, it is slightly out of the main hubbub of Vauxhall - about a 10 min walk to the train/buses and about the same to a large grocery store chain. I had a room on the ground floor. It wasn't huge and didn't have any windows other than a skylight. But the fitout was modern and comfortable, so I didn't mind! I would definately come back to stay here.
Small but perfectly appointed room. I don't like to overpay for a place that I only need do sleep and shower, so when I saw this hotel's listed it looked perfect, and it was. The listing and the front desk person very clearly pointed out the room was in the basement with no window. No need for a view really when you have all of London 10 minutes away on the tube. I arrived mid-day and wanted to store my bag until check in time. The very helpful fellow at reception made a few calls and had my room ready for me within minutes. The entire place is clean and up to date. The bed was very comfortable.
Myself & one of my work colleagues stayed at this hotel on Monday Evening. We had a corporate event at 14:00 pm after travelling 5 plus hours and arrived at the hotel very early we asked if they could store our luggage. The manager/ reception went above and beyond & checked us into one of our rooms early to freshen up shower & change. On arriving the hotel then arranged our taxis not only to but from the event even though it was stil prior to check in time but to & from the resteraunt of our choice. The rooms themselves are so clean- yes smaller than you expect elsewhere but remember this is London and space is a commodity. The hotel is so easy to locate & a 5 minute walk from the Vauxhall underground. After checking out and a fantastic sleep the hotel did not stop there but stored our luggage gave us a place to again freshen up after a day of sightseeing & were very concerned about our journey home which was affected due to adverse weather conditions. This hotel is one of the most customer focussed hotel I have stayed in, were so courteous & approachable I would recommend to anyone, and anyone who complains should consider paying €400 plus for Hilton charges, I got quoted £ 340 for a holiday in express. Thank you for a loveky sfay.
Blink and you would miss it, 3 of us arrived separately and all walked straight past it! See photo for heads up. Ring doorbell to get in! Rooms are absolutely tiny, never been in such a small one, see photo, that's my entire room! But that said they are functional if you don't have much luggage and they are modern. Bar is literally a shelf with a few bottles in reception and don't bother with rip off breakfast, turn right out of hotel and walk to Estrela cafe/bar on the corner where you can get a great coffee and a bacon roll for less than a fiver.
Great value for money, clean, air conditioning, near amenities and tube station. Can get food delivered to room if don't want to eat out via Deliveroo from a range of restaurants. Very convenient for business people and would recommend.
Although the hotel is small with limited facilities, the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Room upgraded free of charge due to admin mistakes my end, so I was very pleased. Room fine, including air con.
We stayed for the weekend for a little get away. Due to the current heatwave it's amazing to have air con that works like a dream. The room itself was okay, nice and clean. Nice to see the cleaner laid out my bra and pjs in the shape of a human ?? the bathroom was a lovely big size but no room in the shower to shave your legs. Our main downside was that we had a basement room with no window so we kept waking up late for our daily activities. Luckily we were with others that came down to wake us up. All in all it is a lovely hotel and would be tempted to stay again if we weren't stuck in the basement.
The rooms are small, but the receptionist/manager is super nice and everyone is friendly and helpful. The hotel is either new and newly renovated and it is pristine condition. Everything worked well and there were no problems at all. The cleanliness needs to be mentioned again, as I don't think I've stayed in a hotel so clean and I travel a LOT. I traveled with my wife and 4 kids. They don't have a kids/family room, but we were able to split up into a couple of different rooms. The distance from the attractions was a bit of a disadvantage, however, the Tube (AKA "Underground" subway) was only a 10 minute walk away, then 25 minutes by tube to the cities center. If you like your peace and quiet, this is the place for you. It's very quite and there's a wonderful pastry shop on the corner for a delicious and more affordable breakfast than the hotel offers (if it's not included with your room like ours wasn't). There are also other restaurants around (not too many), like a pub, a deli (and at night a pizza joint). There's also a park nearby (half-way between the hotel and the Tube) if you want to take a picnic from the deli or just take a walk. If you have time to take the Tube into the Center each day this is the perfect place for you, as staying in the center will be very expensive. For sure buy the Oyster Pass at the airport, load it with credit, and then you can get on and off buses and tube with no problems at all. Both the tube and the bus station are near each other. When you're finished with the Oyster Pass, take it to the office at the airport where you bought it and you'll get all the money that's on it back! Also, there's a 5 euro fee for each Oyster Card and you'll also get that money back as well. You have to have one card per person, no exceptions. I'd skip the London Pass, btw, it wasn't worth it's value. It's hard to hit that many attractions in a day or two to be worth it. Tip: If you go the Eye in the morning there's barely even a line.
Stayed for one night with my wife, close to US embassy. No evening meal but loads of great places to eat local, recommend Humble grape, Battersea. Very clean and modern, especially the ensuite. Staff very helpful
A small boutique hotel, nicely tucked away just off the main street and modernly refurbished. We enjoyed our short stay here and were very comfortable. There are coffee shops and restaurants nearby and the tube is walking distance. We would like to say a big 'thank you' to receptionist Rufi who made us so welcome when we arrived on a very hot day. Staff go the extra mile here for long travelled tired guests and it is very much appreciated. We hope to be back.
First of all, lets manage your expectations: If you're travelling for work, staying for one or two nights and the larger, more established hotels are fully booked or out of cap and you want something better than the Travelodge, Holiday Inn or a Premier Inn, then this hotel is perfect. If you're a family visting on vacation for a week, or a couple down for the weekend that want a showstopper then this hotel won't tick the right boxes. The hotel works because it takes everyting that makes the budget hotels such a good business model and completely perfects it. It's entirely demanding of the increased room rate over the budget hotels but it still sits at a very comfortable price point. The hotel works because it forces you to take an inventory of your wants and needs as a business traveller, and offers everything you need with a premium feel. The rooms aren't enormous, but are comfortable, air conditioned and tastefully decorated - do you actually need that extra space? Some of the hotels only have small windows in the basement area, but there's nothing to look at out of them anyway. And they open! There's no wardrobe, but a rack to hold your suitcase and space to hang your shirts up - when was the last time you really unpacked everything for one night? The bathroom consists of a shower, basin and toilet, but is finished to a standard that far outclasses its budget rivals - do you actually need the rainfall shower and separate bath? There's no on site restaurant, instead the front desk will order deliveroo directly to your room. I don't even have to open the app. The breakfast consists of toast, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, pastries and is served in a comfortable and well decorated room - Do you actually need 12 different types of sausage? Even staying at the upmarket hotels I can't remember the last time I didn't have just scrambled eggs on toast. The reception area is a desk staffed by one friendly person, with a small bar - do you need a 3 million pound lobby designed by someone you've never heard of? Yes, these are all cost saving exercises, it might not be everything you could possibly want but the BWPV has succesfully identified everything you need and delivers it on a silver platter at a reasonable price. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
I have stayed in some questionably established hotels in my time across the world but the strategic photography and elegant indications of good quality accommodations end almost at the moment you arrive at the entrance. I'm reminded of the entrance of perhaps a hostel you're taken to because your plane has dropped a wing somewhere outside Minsk and these were the only rooms in town. Having spent a few moments convincing myself this was not a dream, nor had I stumbled upon by mistake a cowboy themed ‘best western' brothel. A front door sized entrance I can affirm is utterly fabulous fun to get through whilst holding bags, being convinced a ‘madam' will still appear with a list of services, the icing is the poor trainee left to seemingly run the hotel alone at 1am. Now the fun really begins, believing my stay could be a protracted one, upgrading to a ‘junior suite' gives, well those of us that have stayed in hotels claiming to be even 3* would hint to a generosly proportioned room, perhaps a sofa and I don't know - A Wardrobe Perhaps?! I opened the door and had to remain open mouthed for some time, I could just about manage to get into the room being that the nightstand is approximately a rats tail's width from the door, there was at least a bed - hurrah - as for seating, the sole occasional table with a chair worthy of the namesake. You wouldn't want to sit there for any period longer than on the occasional emergency. A dark work area and a tv so small, that from the bed, I would have been straining to watch the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Having absorbed the pretty, yet compactly disappointing bathroom with this fascinating Uk obsession with nailing cheap product dispensers on the wall: it then hit me, why is it so dark. Yes it was 1:30am but there's dark and there's Russian prison circa 1923 dark - there was no wall based window, anywhere - a skylight high up a tube ceiling gap. So a prison it is, or a submarine - either way I didn't pack for North Sea trials. Tried sleeping one night but you hear every door, every domestic quibble, pin drop? Yes heard that too. The staff nattering possibly so distracted the DND sign still ensured I received the obligatory bang on the door “housekeeping” In short, this planning application disaster should be avoided under all normal circumstances. Unless of course you're a mole, a gluton for disappointment. Or just released from the aforementioned Siberian prison. Never again.
Clean hotel tucked away off the high street. Small room with no windows which felt very odd and a bit cramped. Ok for a 1 night stay but wouldn't stay for longer as no room to put anything. Handy for Vauxhall station.
The room was too expensive for what it was. We had a very small double room with a very small window so high you couldn't see out of it. The room felt a bit cramped and not airy because we couldn't open the window.
Highly recommend this splendid boutique hotel. Fabulous, helpful staff. Excellence in comfort, cleanliness, location, furnishings and decor. Will definitely come back and stay here again. Great value for money. Five star experience! Thank you so much.
Very clean and modern hotel. The room was very small, but well-kitted out and had plugs sockets in all the right places which is important for business travel. Also only a 10 min walk from Vauxhall station. Breakfast was a bit odd and I ended up skipping it even though it was included. The reception area is quite pokey and a few tables in from of the desk seemed be the breakfast area. It wasn't clear where the breakfast actually was though.
This hotel is clean, modern and well-priced. The staff, particularly the manager, was very friendly and accommodating to my needs and requests. Good restaurants, supermarket and pubs nearby in a neighborhood setting that's not hectic yet very close to Central London. I have business in that area and will return.
Arrived at BW PLUS Vauxhall to be pleasantly surprised by how compact it was but it's got everything you want. Welcoming staff at a clean bright reception and our room on the second floor was smaller than others I've stayed at but looked newly decorated it was clean comfy with everything you need. We sat having drinks round the corner at a patisserie which was delightful before venturing into the city for the night, returning a little later and eating at a local tapas restaurant 2 minutes walk from the hotel...Estrela bar south lambeth road...well worth a visit Back at the hotel the room was quiet and very comfy..in the morning breakfast is continental with options but was fresh and more than enough. Room service is available on request. Staff were very approachable and booked taxis for us which were not expensive and worth while for us at night. If you want a nice clean hotel without paying a fortune with good food close by and 10 minutes from the tube you'll not do much better in Vauhall than this BW plus... Thank you for a lovely stay....
nice and clean hotel and rooms very welcoming staff. great location if your a fan off london. nice to have a chocie to have a breakfast or not. shame they didnt have a bath but under stand they need to save space
Room was a small but nice room, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cereal and toast with the option of scrambled eggs, there is not dinner options other than Deliveroo. There is no comment on their web site about lack of restaurant, maybe change your name to B&B. Now I know I would not hesitate in staying again as good location and comfortable
Room not ready and i was asked to wait an hour and then to come back. Avertising states checkin is 3pm and room wasnt available until 4pm. Other people checking in at the same time was told the same. Breakfast is not worth the money
Trash was strewn across the floor in front of my room. I couldn't get my suitcase out of the elevator due to dirty bed linen also thrown across the floor. Once finally in my room, the cleaning lady let herself in five minutes later (without knocking) to clean up previous guests bottles and to replace the towels. She assured me the bed linen was clean....I'm not so sure. I've never experienced such poor cleanliness!!!
Neat little hotel if you have business with the US Embassy. Staff very helpful and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms very exceptionally clean and to a very nice standard. Breakfast a little basic, but enough to keep you going for a while.
First impressions count and this Best Western Plus impresses. Subtly lit outside at night, incredibly well maintained, I thought I was arriving at a much more exclusive hotel than a BW!! Inside, everything is on a small scale but not too much to scare off anyone including tall types. the breakfast room is smack in the middle of the reception area and that looks perfectly planned. My room was announced as having no windows so I was dreading it but it all makes sense now as it is compact, tastefully laid out and Mr gadget would just love the handy travel handset they supply free of charge. Not clear when you use it outside your room... The room looked like it was done up yesterday, so clean is it and everything is there. Phone, TV, coffee maker, even a safe! A desk a bed, a bathroom nearly as big as the room. Two tasteful faux leather tan chairs. My inner diva was very happy. Not a romantic place, but so advanced in the art of service to its obviously corporate clientele who really just want no nonsense sometimes..and efficiency. This hotel has it all. It's very close to perfection because it knows who it caters to. It's on target, on brief and on purpose. The price tag is divine. Near many stations. Practically a 10min walk to the Thames. I won't waffle on. Just don't tell anyone else.
I stayed here for a one night stay and arrived late and left early but returned after for my luggage and to get a cab. Reception area/breakfast area was very modern, bright and clean. Service was nice both when checking in and checking out. I am a Diamond Elite Member and shouldn't have to remind them that a drink and snack on arrival is free as well as a free room upgrade and was made me to feel silly when asking for it. I've been staying in Best Western hotels for 5 days every other week for the last 3 years but it doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference. Anyhow, the hotel is fairly new and the boy on reception looked about 14 so I'll let this one go. He did give me a map for my destination the following morning and called a taxi for a quote, which he offered. Decided on a standard double as the only executive room left had a sky light and I don't sleep well in hotel rooms at the best of times. Room was small but clean and modern and had everything I needed. As I said it was a very quick stay. I didn't have time for breakfast the next day but from what I could see it looked like a small buffet in the reception area. I would stay here again if needed a hotel in the area. I would stay here again
The hotel is less than 10 min away from Vauxhall station, off main street which is nice and quiet. Didn't actually expect much from Best Western but it is Plus! The room is, like other London hotel, not big but enough for a few nights stay. The room was clean and had nice bed for comfy sleep. Good for business stay.
I just stayed here with my boyfriend for a Valentin's treat and it was lovely, the bed was comfy and I just had a all over brilliant night. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone thinking of staying. The staff were really friendly and it made Valentine's a special day and one to remember.
Arrived here for two nights stay while on business. Check in was easy and smooth (although I was told my room was on the 2nd floor when it was actually the 1st, not really that big an issue :). Arrived in room and here's one of the reasons it's not a 5 star review - the window had been left wide open and the room was freezing. Figured out how to close the window and stuck the air con on to heat the room up. Again not a major issue and easily fixed. Room was VERY clean and functional. Well appointed with plenty electrical plugs and I kind of loved the fact that the tea/coffee facilities were out and ready to use and not hidden away. I've stayed in hotels where you have to search high and low in the room for a kettle only to find that the only place you can plug it in is over on a wall with the kettle sitting on the floor. There was a small wardrobe area that perfectly suited my needs in terms of size. The desk was a good size and there was actually a cracking wee smartphone designed to help tourists find themselves around London which was a really nice touch even though I didn't need it. They can take it out and use it and them Dock it to charge it. Bed was firm but comfy and there were actually different options of pillows in terms of firmness already in the room (normally you might have to request these). Bathroom was modern and very clean. The second reason they lost a point was because while the towels were clean, they smelled a little funky and I'm pretty sure this will be because of the laundry company they're using or maybe the quality of the machines on site. Even some fabric softener or a tumble dryer sheet would easily solve this. Staff interactions were minimal due to being out the hotel for the entire day and evening but when I did speak to staff they were very Hospitable and friendly (and efficient). I would absolutely recommend this hotel and I'll actively seek them out again if I can find a room again within my company's budget! Which in London is tough!
This hotel is good value for money for London. It is also well located for getting into Central London by bus, train or tube. The bedrooms are small (as are most rooms in London), but they are modern, clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is a little limited with only one hot choice, scrambled egg, but it is pleasant enough. Reception were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if looking for a good value base whilst visiting London.
myself and my best friend stayed her for one night whist visiting London for the weekend and to attend a concert. Lovely staff, nice clean bedrooms and bathroom, good value for the money considering its central London. Only negative is its a little hidden and we took a long detour on foot with our bags in tow before we found it haha.
Booked a room as having a Christmas party to attend to nearby. On arrival the staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The rooms are of a good standard, clean and modern My main concern is the moment I went to my room which was ‘underground' I had no phone signal and sometimes no WiFi.. Arriving at 3pm to then not be contactable is not good, not very good for a Best Western hotel and today's basic requirements of a hotel Breakfast was offered as a continental only as its only a very small area. I'd stay again, providing they sort out the terrible phone situation.. Phillsr Southampton
Stayed here last week. Was woken at 0230 by someone trying to get into my room (drunk), after a while the manager came and knocked on my door to get me up and confirm this was my room - the lady was adamant it was her room and her luggage was in there. Needless to say I didn't sleep much after that. Not sure why they manager couldn't have just checked the reservation system rather than getting me out of bed at that time to confirm it was my room. Also the room was in the basement so no windows, which maybe for £120 was all I should have expected in Central London. Wasn't made aware when I checked in late that food could be ordered to the room - ended up on Lambeth Road looking for somewhere at 10pm when room service would have been fine.
If you think that this is a Best Western, think again...more like Worst Western!!! We made our booking in August via our usual travel agent to stay with this hotel from 15 until 21 November 2017 because I am usually happy with Best Western and we found a very good offer. However, when we have arrived at the property, we have been told that we have no booking. After further inquiries, we were told that they found our booking, but it was cancelled by the HOTEL by itself, but allowed to stay for one night since it was very late in the evening!!! When I started reading other reviews, I found out that, unfortunately, this is an usual practice of the hotel: in order for you to book a room, they advertise a very good offer and after a while, they cancel it saying they cannot sustain it...so they are using a very BAD marketing practice, with no respect for the client and no professionalism. Moreover, even the hotel manager, told us that on the same day, they had a client from Germany with the same problem who understood the situation!!! and decided to leave the hotel, implying that we should do the same if we do not want to play the huge rate difference he was asking us for. The same hotel manager was very rude, ironic, patronizing us and when our travel agent asked him if they can pay for us the difference in the rate, he asked them to pay an even bigger amount. In the end, thanks to our travel agent, we moved to another hotel at no extra cost for us, but if it was for the manager of this hotel, he would have left us to sleep on the streets!!! As for the room, even if we had booked an executive room and for the only night we stayed they gave us a very, very small room in the basement, with no window, no cell phone signal, next day the elevator did not work from morning until afternoon when we left, we found an old toothbrush in the bathroom upon arrival, so this is not the quality you would normally expect from a Best Western.
Nice, intimate and lovely hotel, clean room and friendly staff. The lift is extremely small, so if you come with more than three people, you'll have to take turns going up to your room. But other than that, it is a great value for the price, considering the location and the quality of rooms. If you're not looking for something too fancy, but just a simple place for bed and (basic continental) breakfast in the a relatively central area in London, I would certainly recommend it.
As others have noted, finding the hotel and accessing the front door isn't easy. The hotel needs to improve its signage. Although I suspect it's planning permission related. Reception was fine and speedy. The room was not large, but for one night it was fine. Similar comment on the bathroom. The hotel is clean, fresh and feels very safe, with access security well managed. Would definitively use the hotel again, should I be back in Vauxhall.
What a great find so close to Central London, an absolute gem. Very welcoming staff, immaculately clean, very comfortable bed, just the perfect place for our purposes as we were visiting with relatives who stayed 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Will definitely consider going back.
Swift booking-in process and a very friendly welcome set the scene for my one-night stay. As this was my first time in the hotel, the procedures were explained to me (breakfast times, check out procedure etc). I was in room 15, a double room on the first floor. Room was on the small side, but immaculately clean. Fresh, good quality linen, very comfortable bed, well stocked tea tray, efficient air conditioning. There was no noise from traffic and the curtains made the room pitch black. I slept really well The shower was a good size, water pressure was average to good, and the water hot. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment about the food. The breakfast area is "cosy" but I found no reason for concern. A pleasant surprise after some of the negative reviews I had read. I would definitely return. Absolutely delivered excellent customer service and I had everything I needed for an enjoyable overnight stop. Thank you.
The hotel is spotless, have great staff and are very hospitable. The only worry us their distance from city centre, but it's well connected through buses and the tube. The breakfast spread isn't to elaborate, but if there are any specifics, they cater to it. What i was extremely impressed with was that the room came with a 4G enabled smartphone which lets you call several countries for free and with a dedicated app for visiting London. On the whole, it's a bit pricy for its location, but is worth the services.
Booked this hotel through Trip Advisor at a discounted rate and received confirmation. Was then contacted days later after travel arrangements had been made and theatre tickets booked to say that they were no longer able to offer the room at the rate I had booked at, even though it had been confirmed. I asked to speak to management but have only received standard non helpful responses from the front desk. I will NEVER book with Best Western again, customer service is dire. This is their fault and they are doing NOTHING to rectify the position I have been put in. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
This little boutique hotel is a short walk from Vauxhall Station, with plenty of small restaurants and shops on the way to Stockwell station. Continental breakfast is available in the mornings. Rooms are small, but that's not uncommon in the UK. Ours was spotless and seemed to be recently updated. Staff was friendly and helpful. The lift was small. It said it could fit 4 people, but with luggage, it was 2 max. To/from Gatwick it was an hour in total, walk to Vauxhall station, Tube to Victoria station and Gatwick Express. I'd recommend for a couple or single person staying. Just remember, this isn't the Ritz, but a great small hotel for a great price.
This is a new hotel. so drivers are not familiar with it. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel to Vauxhall station. Front desk's Mirela is very sweet and kind. The room is very small but you may find everything inside. The breakfast is very simple.
Unfortunately our experience at this hotel was very disappointing. Firstly it is not easy to find, poor signage led us to drive up and down the road before seeing a small sign above a door. Parked the car and walked up to the door to realise it was the main entrance to the hotel. Very limited parking around the hotel, no hotel parking but used the justpark app and got a space before we arrived in a very small car park across the road belonging to the holiday inn express. Website states bar as amenities, but there isnt one, the hotel doesnt have a license so suggested to hotel staff that should be made clear on website!!! Limited options for food n drinks near by but cafe on the corner served breakfast, family of four had cooked breakfast n drinks for £30, whilst hotel offered limited choice continental breakfast for £10 per head!! The rooms where far smaller than expected, paid extra for a room with a window on booking.com n got a room with a skylight! Not worth the extra cost. A very small rail for hanging clothes, we were going to a wedding so had shirts, suits, dresses n jackets n not enough room for all!! Rooms were clean but stank of drains, reception where aware of this problem and put drain cleaner in bathroom morning noon n night but one of rooms still stank, very unpleasant when you wake in the morning n want to use the bathroom for a shower. We actually had to go to the cafe for breakfast whilst fumigated the room for us to use!! The staff however where very understanding and helpful and tried to make out stay as comfortable as possible, its not their fault the problem is with the hotel itself. Finally on our booking receipt it stated rooms where soundproofe. However, we had very little sleep whilst staying in this hotel. It was not a case of noisy guests at all it was the hotel. There are fire doors into all the corridors and of course on the rooms but everytime someone went up the corridor the door would bang, all night long, you could hear guests walking up the corridor, coughing. The maid in the morning cleaning the toilet opposite, every little noisy carried. Also dont forget to close skylight as planes start flying over from 6am n quite noisy n regular, also close the blind on the skylight as its directly over the bed and so light beaming down on you from dawn.
This is a new and slightly unusual hotel. It doesn't have a bar - just a small reception area. The first thing i noticed about my room was it had no windows. It did have a sky light but i thought they should have at least told me I would be staying in a room with no windows. The sky light is located directly over the bed so at 5am i was woken up by bright sunshine. I noticed there was a blind on the sky light so i hunted around my room for a pole to close it but to no avail. I ended up standing on tip-toe on my bed to close the blind. Not a big issue but one that can be easily resolved by providing a pole to close the blind in the room. Now on to a big issue....there was no hot water for a shower in the morning. I tried for ages to get hot water from the shower but no joy so eventually called reception. The guy said "oh sorry, problem with the boiler so no hot water for the whole hotel and it won't be fixed until this afternoon". To me there's two fundamental things a hotel should provide - a bed and a shower/bath. The hotel had already taken the £200 payment for the room on arrival. I complained to the receptionist and asked for a reduction
Arrived on the 23rd June at 2.00 pm and was told the rooms are only ready at 3.00 pm. I could not find any information about this on my reservation. Also I booked two nights and I had to change room : meaning pack everything and not allowed to be back again before 3.00 pm ! Welcome desk when I arrived was not very warm but after 3.00 pm much better.
This is a beautiful new hotel which only opened end of March 2017. Its 5 stops away from Kings Cross train station on the Victoria line tube to Vauxhall which makes it a great location to stay. Once you get off the tube at Vauxhall it's about a 5-10 minute walk. The security in the hotel is excellent which makes it feel very secure especially for lone female travellers. The room we were given was on 1st floor the decor and quality was beautiful. The space around the double bed was not great but it was enough for 2 adults. Having said that we were not in the room for any length of time whilst awake. Not sure how much time we could have sat in the room for during the day. The room was fully equipped with tea/coffee, air conditioning, hairdryer, tv and freei wifi. It even had its own android device for you to search for tours use social media etc. The window was above the bed and was a little difficult to reach, however they have even thought of that and put a button on the wall which will open the window electronically! The bath room was also finished to great standard. They even have a movement sensor light which comes on in the bathroom if you go in through the night. Brilliant idea just enough for you to know where you are without fully waking you. The reception area hosted the breakfast bar, we didn't stay for breakfast but I did look and it appeared to be a continental style. It also had a stocked fridge of soft drinks. I would definitely recommend and will stay here again. My only reason for 4 stars was the lack of space around the bed.
Very modern and well finished room. This one is in the basement and so has no window. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is modern. There is 6 coat hangers but no shelves to put your pants & socks on - good for a night or so, not great for the week. The shower is smart but I'm 6ft, so there is no room to wash your toes! There is nowhere to put your toiletries if you bring your own Breakfast is £10 and should have been complimentary There is free wi-fi at a decent speed There is no parking and Vauxhall tube station is 10 mins walk away. If I'm honest, I'd stop here again, but not before checking out the competition first (there is a Holiday Inn Express next door ). The tea tray is poor Just a few things would have made this a great experience
There were just a couple of things about the room that weren't great, otherwise it's a good option. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. There was a very minor difficulty at check in, which was dealt with brilliantly by the receptionist. Service overall was very good. I found the fact that so many doors needed the card key to open a little disturbing as it made me think that perhaps security was an issue, whereas I don't suppose that is really the case. The hotel has a modern, clean feel and is also very clean throughout in the other sense. The room I had can best be described as compact. It had an opening window, which was very nice and the location meant there was little road noise, proper bonus in London. Nice en-suite with a heated mirror! Very rare in hotels, I could see myself to shave! Free Wi-Fi and a reasonable download speed. There was no room to store bags other than next to the bed. Little space to hang clothes, perhaps enough for one person for two or three days, but for a couple you'd struggle for more than a night or two at most. No other storage space for clothing, these had to be left in the bag at the side of the bed. The bed itself was comfortable, but small. Not sure if it was a three quarter double in width, but it was very short. I'm only 5'7" and had to sleep diagonally to keep within the bed. Breakfast was a light affair. Coffee, fruit juice, toast, cereal and scrambled eggs. Quite nice as a change from the usual stodgy cooked breakfast as long as you know in advance. The immediate area seems to lack bars and restaurants, I found myself having to go back across the river in the evening to get a meal. The main reason for not rating higher for me was the size of the bed and lack of storage space in the room.
Stayed here on a business trip with 2 colleagues. Lovely modern hotel with hair dryer, tea/coffee in the rooms and a big flat screen tv with freeview. Perfect for what we needed it for. The only downside was there was no lobby bar for a night cap. They have wine in cabinets but unable to serve due to not having a licence so instead we headed to a little pub on the corner. Staff were very pleasant and went out their way to help. Overall great!
We Absolutely loved this hotel and would def visit again. Great staff , modern hotel, great bathroom, big room (for London) even got a mobile phone to use - very unexpected. Shame about the lack of reviews!
Very clean and nice hotel, well received at the reception by Roxanne who was very warm, professional and charming. Housekeeping team very charming. Room was very nice, clean and and the bathroom was great. Will stay there again, location is good walking distance to the tube, local super markets etc. Excellent stay.
I'm currently staying in this hotel for a long weekend in London. Location wise this is a few minutes walking distance to Vauxhall station. Unfortunately there is no hotel parking. Not much to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Security in this hotel is excellent, a key card is required to access the main door and all doors throughout the hotel as well as the lifts. The room decor is nice and the bathroom is very nice too. The bed is very comfortable but a little small for a standard double. The natural lighting in the room is limited and there is only the option of air conditioning for heating / cooling, which does work very well. It is not possible to open the window. Room size is slightly on the small size so it does feel a little claustrophobic. Cleanliness is good but there was a lot of dust in the room, which had clearly settled on the mirrors. There is limited options for food, as a 4 star hotel I would expect more variety, choice and availability. The hotel lacks a bit of oomph that you'd expect from a 4 star establishment. It's not a boutique hotel in my opinion, tea and coffee facilities working the room were standard and nothing special.
Just returned from a great stay in this hotel. Check-in was speedy and efficient with excellent staff. The rooms are newly refurbished and comfortably sized, value for money was excellent. The beds are exceptionally comfortable with a very modern and clean ensuite bathroom. I would highly recommend this hotel.
It was a very good experience. The hotel is near bus station and tube station (Vauxhall). The position is very good to visit all the city. The staff is very kind and available to solve any problems and to answer all your questions. Very good bed and good comfort. The hotel is a new one...very beautiful. We left our luggage in a dedicate space after our check-out...so we had the possibility to have a look around the city also the last day...In every room there is a mobile Phone with internet that you can use when you visit London...very useful... Last but not least: room are as beautiful as in the pictures!
