"Nice hotel in a slightly worrying area if you find a bloke going mad!"
stevefZ9771CO, 10 Novembre 2023

Good, three day stay in a perfectly clean and pleasant hotel. Room was clean, spotless and serviced daily. A little bit out of the city centre but we were happy to walk as a group of 3 blokes. I wouldn't walk around here with my wife and we had 3 “situations” in our 1st 24 hours which made us feel on edge/ or threatened , however, after that first day, we only encountered nice people and good situations. The hotel is not far the North station. I would avoid this late at night. Brussels was a large interesting, welcoming international city. We enjoyed it apart from the few issues we had some nutters.

"horrible service levels at Best Western City Centre Brussels"
Mobile32504997445, 25 Septembre 2023

My wife and I stayed at Best Western City Centre Brussels from 28 Aug to 02 Sep 2023. One of the very rare hotels which does not understand the meaning of hospitality business and service. It is a hotel which has two front office receptionists (ladies) who are the most discourteous and are eager and willing to pick up a fight with guests at every conceivable opportunity! One of them said that "that is life" when I asked for coffee sachets because the housekeeping staff had not replenished them while cleaning the room. It appeared that they did not have stock and instead of apologizing she said that I was harassing her!! just because I said that it was unacceptable for a good hotel chain to say that their stock is finished. It is also a hotel where the outsourced breakfast service provider asks the guests to get up and leave while they are still having breakfast!! just because it is now 10:30 am and breakfast service is between 07:00 to 10:30 hrs. We thought the old lady would actually snatch the tea cup from my wife's hand and the toast from my hand because we were finishing our breakfast at 10:37!! Which hotel does that? we all understand breakfast timings but this?? Because I harassed her!! our room was not cleaned one day because we left the room at 11:30 am, leaving the "clean my room" tab on the door. Oh! we only clean rooms when guests leave by 10:00 hrs!! This is a hotel whose General Manager or a senior functionary (by whatever name called) was never available and we never saw him / her during our 5 nights stay at the hotel, no matter what the time of the day!! We told one of the male front office receptionists about our experience and asked if we could speak to the senior most official but sadly we were told "that would not be possible". Vow!! We can provide our name and any relevant details should Best Western management in USA want to hear from us. We have decided never to book any stay at Best Western ever.

"not brilliant"
Megan C, 03 Septembre 2023

hotel room was fine, bathroom was bleak, breakfast was not worth paying for and staff were very rude (which we found everywhere in belgium). dont see why they have the do not disturb sign as each time we put them on the door we came back to the room with the sign on the desk? wont be coming back.

"Just OK "
Patricia M, 06 Août 2023

The room was clean but the AC was inadequate. Very stuffy at night. Tiny bathroom. Crazy shower head sprayed water everywhere but it was hot with good pressure. Comfy beds. Basic breakfast buffet a bit pricey. Neighborhood was shadey, not the place to walk around by yourself after dark.

"Picture were deceiving!! "
Kara B, 04 Juillet 2023

Unfortunately pictures were deceiving. They must have been taking a long time ago. BW needs a lot of attention. It was bad!!! From carpets to curtains need an overhaul. The room we got smelt like smoke and was filthy. Stains on every surface. If it wasn't for the fact that we got there late and was checking out early we would have canceled our stay. We didn't get what the pictures suggested. Location was fine 20 min walk to centre. Hotel may have potential if giving some much needed love!!

"Worst Hotel Ever"
j0shitat, 13 Juin 2023

Worst hotel ever! The staff is rude. The place is surrounded by shady and unsafe places. JUST DO NOT STAY HERE. The AC does not function in any room. On complaining, you receive rude answers from the hotel staff. For the first time, I've been experiencing such rude behavior from hotel staff. On complaining about the AC, I was told to leave the hotel in the middle of the night. Being a single lady, I had no choice.

"Perfect for our needs"
treetrippers, 18 Mai 2023

Rooms are great, very comfy beds, tub a little high to get in but then I'm only 5 feet tall. The room was cleaned very very well each day. Breakfast more than adequate. To walk to grand place about 20 mins. Yes some rough characters around at times, are there not in every city? Staff very friendly

"Excellent Hotel"
brightsunshine8, 12 Mai 2023

I stayed there for a night. The entire experience in this hotel was great; room was very nice and the staffs were very helpful. The breakfast menu had lots of varieties. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable!!

"The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in."
Brigid R, 04 Mai 2023

I thought the hotel was perfectly nice. The room was small and fairly basic but spotlessly clean and very warm. It also had very good lighting, unlike most other hotels I have stayed in and I can honestly say that it was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. There was also a lovely shower and a good range of breakfast items. While the hotel is a good twenty minute walk from the city centre, I didn't feel unsafe going through the underpass nor did I see any rough behaviour although I would probably get a taxi back after dark as it's a quiet area. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel.

"Pleasant stay-great location"
Hannah E, 01 Janvier 2023

My partner and I have just come back after a new year break in Brussels. After reading the reviews we were a bit sceptical about the hotel but we had a really pleasant stay. The hotel is fine for what we needed it for-mainly to sleep after a long day exploring Brussels. The rooms were basic-yes, but clean and comfortable. The location is great, around a 15minute walk into the main square and a 5 minute walk to the nearest train station which we used to access the atomium. We didn't find the area to be uncomfortable, even when walking home on New Year's Eve at 1am. We booked as part of a Eurostar package and for the price we paid we were very happy. You get what you pay for! Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't book as part of our package-there are lots of places in the centre to eat.

"Basic"
RichardC826, 07 Décembre 2022

Located near Norde station, as other reviews…area not the best. Staff welcoming, quick check-in. Stayed two nights with breakfast. Room was clean and quiet nothing special, basic. Breakfast was ok, buffet style. Overall ok for the two nights

"Worst Hotel in the World"
enakshib2014, 29 Octobre 2022

When I booked the hotel room (months in advance) I took the proximity to the railway station and the somewhat decent recent reviews into consideration and booked the hotel. Imagine my disappointment when I realised that the area around the hotel is total crap, filled with low lives and the rooms itself were dingy and congested. I immediately regretted booking this hotel (without breakfast btw). This disappointment went on mounting after we realised the AirCon wasn't working (it was unually hot in Brussesls for October). I checked with the receptionist and she refused to help. So we had to keep the window open for the whole night hearing the constant siren sounds all night. Surprisingly the 2nd day the AirCon worked and we got decent sleep. The next morning when we left for sight seeing, we switched off the AirCon and it refused to work the next 2 nights. All our requests to get it fixed or change our room was ignored and on our last day the manager promised to send the technician to repair it but when we were back in the evening AirCon was still not working. I don't think any technician came to check since the settings were unchanged. So 3 out of 4 nights we slept in a very uncomfortable environment with siren sounds all night. What I did not get is why does the hotel charge the amount of money that it does. The rooms have zero extra amenities (no mini fridge for the chocolates in this hot weather), no breakfast, mediocre rooms with uncomfortable beds and stuffy congested rooms. It's not as if it is located at a premium location. The area is shady and dirty and I'm pretty sure unsafe. I will never recommend this chain of hotels in any city. Absolute crappy service and attitude of the staff. Hands dowm my worst hotel stay in Europe. Money down the drain.

"Priced well, okay hotel"
DRSRG, 25 Octobre 2022

Stayed here almost years back. Location is good, priced well. Staff welcome is cold and nothing much to write back about. Rooms are just okay, but this place needs to improve in terms of overall feel factor to make guests comfortable. I would say, consider it but do look for other good options as well

"Rude Staff, Rough area...but fantastic price"
JDW_50442, 06 Septembre 2022

Came here September 2022 with my sister for 3 nights. We got this room for a suspiciously cheap price, so did not expect much. The rooms were fine, very clean, a bit basic but fine for a few nights. Both men on reception were rude, everything seemed too much trouble, particularly the receptionist working on the Saturday and Sunday night. We asked for some more tea bags and he told my sister to search round the cupboard herself whilst he just sat there on his phone. We also asked for another pillow since we only had 3 in the whole room and he gave us a very rude response, but he did bring us one later on. Don't book this hotel if you are travelling alone, with kids, or travelling during the winter- the hotel is virtually in the red light district and is not an area you want to walk around at night. There were lots of sirens at night but I have read on a previous review that the hotel is near a police station, so that is understandable. It was a bit loud but there's no trouble once you're in the hotel. Breakfast is an absolute scam- 15 euros per person per day, so that would've cost me and my sister 90 euros just for breakfast. There are plenty of cheaper options in the city. Also, there were a total of 3 plugs in the whole room- but the cable for the kettle doesn't reach so we had to put it on the floor next to the bed, which seemed a bit odd. Advice for visitors- Walking through the botanical gardens is much safer than the other options, which are walking through the red light area or walking through an alleyway and a building site that smell of urine. Don't pay for breakfast, it's a scam. A message for those people who have paid £660 for 3 nights- hate to break it to you, but you've been scammed. Advice for the hotel- lower the price of breakfast, praise your cleaning staff, and give your receptionists some lessons about customer service. Despite our hotel experience, Brussels is a beautiful city which I would highly recommend.

"Great for a few days"
Dups88, 10 Août 2022

We were a little worried about previous reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and clean. It was a little tired but for a few days it was great. The hotel was a little walk away. Once we had worked out the route it wasn't too bad. At times it is a little rough around the edges but looks like there is a lot of redevelopment in the area.

"Very mixed experience but overall poor"
peterjB5763VA, 27 Juin 2022

Stayed for three nights at this hotel on a mini leisure break with my wife. The good news is that the staff were friendly, the breakfast was just about adequate and the gangs of youth referred to in other reviews in a neighbouring underpass are no more. The bad news however is that the gangs have been replaced by huge building works around the hotel which start at about 6:00am and create a massive amount of noise and dust. The lift was broken for almost the entire 3 days we were there which necessitated a long climb up a narrow & hot stairwell to the 6th floor. The staff offered to put us in another room but with promises that the lift would always be fixed "tomorrow" we unwisely decided to stay in the same room. I would also say the rooms are nothing like as good as the pictures on the website and have only been partly refurbished, the hairdryer also broke after the first day. In summary I would say best avoided unless you can get a room rate of of £50 or below, we went as part of a package, £660 for three nights, including train fares, and quite frankly it wasn't worth it!

"DISGUSTING PLACE DONT TRUST THE PHOTOS"
Heidi L, 30 Décembre 2021

RATE THIS A -5!!! doesn't mention you are near the red light district, absolutely not family or safe in general! the area is full of unsafe people in big groups shouting, not safe to go out at night, STAFF are rude!! Charge you for more money when they can, even try and say you broke certain things to make you pay more!! The place is a wreck!! Hope the karma from treating me and my partner so wrong comes back to them!!

"Average hotel, average city"
kal77uk, 29 Novembre 2021

Brussels north side @ Gare DuNoord isn't the best neighbourhood, the hotel is in this locality. The hotel as a building needs a major refurb, bits loose like door handle, no aircon. I was only here one night so don't want to be over critical, could have been better. By the time I woke up -breakfast had already finished!!

"Decent 3 star hotel"
898danielz, 21 Novembre 2021

Although the building looks a bit older, the interior of this hotel is nice, rooms are spacious and clean, only negative was that the double bed consisted of two separate beds between which a gap formed. Breakfast was tasty, with a good selection of dishes. It is close to a bus station and large metro intersection, walking distance to the city centre is 12 minutes, so the location is great. The neighbourhood was quiet, there are only business buildings around it. Overall good value for money.

"Average Hotel. Terrible neighbourhood."
ignazioecf, 26 Janvier 2020

Although rooms are spacious and well decorated, premises are still basic (e.g. no mini fridge in the room). Staff is neither friendly nor helpful and malkes you feel unconfortable when you ask for something. The worst thing is probably the neighbourhood: although very near to Brussel Noord train station and this might seem like an advantage...please bear in mind that it's a really shady area in which you don't want to find yourself at night.

"Grim location, ok once you're inside"
Julie C, 19 Décembre 2019

Pros - Train station very nearby to go to Bruges. Room clean and bed comfortable. Surprisingly quiet at night, some siren noise. Very good shower, great pressure and lots of hot water. Breakfast good. You can walk into the city, about 20 mins to Centre Cons - DO NOT walk around this area alone. It is a street away from the Red light area. We were ok as a group. There are gangs hanging around the station. (Not Eurostar station, the one near the hotel to go to Bruges) They didn't bother us, but it's not the best. Ask for a room which has been refurbished. Finally enjoy your stay, Brussels and Bruges are wonderful.

"Nice hotel for weekend break"
SophF10, 10 Décembre 2019

After reading the reviews here I was worried about my visit to Brussels after booking this hotel. However, I didn't experience any of the problems some of the other reviews talk about. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. The shower in particular was very powerful. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the Grand Palace, you do go under an underpass but we experienced no problems at all and didn't see or hear of any trouble. We could hear sirens at night but the hotel is near a police station and it didn't disturb our sleep. We had breakfast in the mornings which was fine and had a good range of food. Overall, we had a good time in Brussels and a nice stay and would stay here again.

"Not bad hotel "
pittzilla, 01 Décembre 2019

We booked hotel through a Eurostar break after checking reviews and location. Which brings me to my first point, on the website it states it's a few minutes walk into the city centre. It was about 5 minutes walk to the edge of the centre, but a good 20 mins minimum walk into the centre itself. The area around the hotel itself on first impression was rough and dodgy looking with graffiti everywhere . We walked past the hotel itself as the entrance is nothing like the picture on the website. However the staff were good and hotel nice and clean. In the morning we went down to breakfast and they were charging 15 euros each for some fruit, ham, cheese and some bread. Problem you have is hotel is middle of nowhere with no cafes or restaurants nearby, so if you are elderly or got loads of kids you're stuck. I'm not happy as I spent over another £100 on our weekend to upgrade the hotel I was led to believe was nicer and better located. Not the case I'm afraid. So nice hotel, good staff but not much else to say in a positive way.

"Average hotel"
briannieb, 25 Novembre 2019

I stayed here with my partner, it is in a ruough area, brussels red light district just a street away, if you stay here be careful. The staff were friendly, the room looked nice but wasnt particularly clean for examples hairs in the bed and bathroom, grubby marks everywhere, broken bins etc all little things but very easily fixed so question is why isnt this being done. It was an ok hotel but we wouldnt stay again.

"Satisfactory review"
Chidozie U, 19 Novembre 2019

Satisfied with the property, standard double room with kings size bed. The staff is very welcoming and kind I,m looking forward to the next visit in Brussels and I hope to stay again at the same property

"Booked hotel, didn't stay there as just around corner from red light district"
whocaresreallyreally, 05 Novembre 2019

Booked this hotel on the Eurostar website for a sort break. After arriving at the Gard du Nord my wife and I exited the station to be greeted by the red light district, a very grotty, dirty area. There were groups of men hanging around on street corners, I saw two men urinating in public on the short walk from the station to hotel. My wife and I both felt very unsafe in the area and this was at midday, I would not risk walking around after dark. The break was booked through eurostar with obviously no mention of location on it's website. This is by no means a review of the hotel as my wife wouldn't came back to the area after going into central brussels, and had to book another hotel.

"Our Stay"
Chelsea B, 29 Octobre 2019

Myself and my partner arrived on Friday to a decent sized room, nice and spacious. However, the room was constantly cold throughout our stay, the heating didn't seem to work and the wind rattled the poorly single glazed windows. The beds were two singles, pushed together but separated whenever we moved closer to each other. The view wasn't much, we were opposite a building site, which was quiet over the weekend but come Monday morning you could hear drilling. The walk up to the hotel was sort of bleak, we passed a well lit underpass but that itself was a bit dodgy. We never opted for the breakfast and never dined in the evening. I would say the rooms need more TLC - the shower head (which my partner had to fix in place as it kept falling when on) needs up grading as does the whole bathroom. I wouldn't recommend staying here in the colder months as the building is single glazed and unless the heating is fixed, be prepared to chatter your teeth during the night.

"Reasonable hotel not far from Brussels Centraal"
Keef_the_Red, 16 Octobre 2019

Marisa booked us a nice break away via a package with Eurostar. We had 4 nights at the BW. After reading some reviews about location, we were a little concerned about the location. I think a lot of it is scare mongering, we didn't see any drug addicts, prostitutes etc as some reviews comment. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Rogier metro, you do have to go under an underpass that is smelly but it's well lit and next to the Hilton. The other route under a longer underpass is alongside the botanical gardens, you can walk a longer route around the top of the underpass that is better lit. The staff on reception were pleasant and helpful. The room was large with with a large comfy double bed. Tv, coffee facilities and decent sized clean bathroom. One thing was the lights in the bathroom wouldn't come on when we got back at night, but we sussed out that there was a master switch. To get to Brussels central train station takes 15 minutes walk, you can get connections to the major cities such as Ghent and Antwerp, costs around 30 euros return for 2. We had a drink at the bar but didn't have breakfast so I can't offer my expert hotel opinion of the food, what i can say is the food area looked decent enough for a basic breakfast. If I came to Brussels again, I'd probably stay here again as it's decent enough.

"Pleasant stuff"
Ivana P, 13 Octobre 2019

In Best Western City Centre you will find pleasant stuff, good and clean rooms. Bar is also nice, and area for breakfast is organised really nice. Food choice is ok, everything is fresh and that was important for me.

"Great experience & perfect location !!"
fferran7, 08 Octobre 2019

My friends, this is an excellent hotel just renovated in an excellent location! The breakfast is delicious as well you should include it in your rate. But the best thing about the hotel, is Jordi. He's in the front desk, and he can not be more amazing! Such a comic and diligent guy. You will be lucky if he will be there during your check-in.

"Bad customer service "
Barbarambrug, 07 Octobre 2019

The experience was ok, breakfast not the best, but had many options. The room is comfortable. On our second night the bathroom had no energy. It took some hours to come back. On our last morning, we woke up 9 am with the housekeepers coming inside the room, which was really uncomfortable and if the hotel knew we were checking out and the checking out time is still 11 am, why there were housekeepers going inside my room at 9am? To finish the experience we had a bus booked to Paris during the night, we had some problems with it and were booked to 2am. We asked politely if it would be ok for us to wait at the reception till at least midnight or so, since was pretty cold outside and the location on the hotel and the station is pretty dangerous during the night. It was still 8pm. The receptionist was really rude, laughed on our face and said no, you can't, it's too long to stay here, and simple left us talking by ourselves.

"It needs a bit of TLC"
FORT331, 18 Septembre 2019

The hotel is not too bad, staff are very friendly and helpful, however the room walls were dirty, in need of a coat of painting. The carpet also had stains so it didn't look very nice.its a shame because it's a good hotel.

"Perfect for our stay"
615jemmad, 06 Septembre 2019

Nice size room for three, plenty of space, clean and tidy with ensuite that has bath and shower. Reception were very helpful. Plenty of parking outside the hotel which you have to pay for between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Worked out about 15 euro a day. Hotel was walking distance from the town and grand place. Would highly recommend for location and would definitely stay here again xx

"Zero customer service"
Jorginho33, 19 Août 2019

Worst experience ever in a hotel. I checked in in the afternoon of 8/14. Front desk agent was not really friendly but it was fine to me. I got in to the room and noticed that the a/c was not working, went down to the desk and informed the agent. He said he had no one to fix it right a way and he might have someone the next day, I was staying for one night only. I asked him for a room change and he said they were fully booked. He offered a fan and I told him that the only reason I picked this hotel was because of the a/c. He said either take the fan or open the window and if I don't like the options he was giving me I could leave. His exact words were " I am giving you options and if you don't like them you can go somewhere else". I just could not believe his words. NO customer service at all. Will not recommend just for that reason, even though the besides the a/c hotel was fine. The area did not seem safe and I did not want be in the hunting for another hotel.

"Room was good, great cleaning service"
sburad566122, 16 Août 2019

The room was very clean and had enough space. The cleaning service was very good: daily cleaning the room and changing the towels and bath items (shampoo, shower gell etc.). Lots of noises coming from other rooms (thin walls). Breakfast is a rip'off at 17 euros per person The window did not close properly and there was noise coming in from the outside, plus wind howl during windy nights. Located close to a train station, but in a really bad neighbourhood.

"Not recommended, reconsider"
mfdz1969, 02 Août 2019

I was really disappointed with this hotel, the reviews and website do not clearly represent the experience we had, the hotel is located in a dangerous part, to get through to the city, you have to walk through an underpass that is filled with graffitti, gangs and smells like a bathroom. I stayed last week with my family and we had to rely on Taxis to get in and out of the hotel just to be safe, we had a really close incident near the underpass. The accomodations were terrible, the rooms smelled, the bathroom kept leaking water onto the carpet and the staff were really rude. Would not recommend staying at this hotel, the advertisement is misleading and the location is dangerous.

"worst reception service I've ever had."
Marco A, 30 Juillet 2019

worst reception service I've ever had. Air conditioning does not work. rooms have no sockets at the head of the beds. It is clean, central, near the metro station. easy access. they must greatly improve the way they receive and welcome their customers.

"Good"
sanacouto, 09 Juillet 2019

The room is comfortable and the customer service is great. However, the bathroom is uncomfortable. It is difficult and dangerous to enter the bathtub and there was water leakage whenever we used the shower. The value is good and the location is great!

"Hole in towel! Not a good location to stay especially if you have to stay out late."
Vacay59, 28 Juin 2019

Very poor quality amenities. First time I have stayed in a hotel where the towels are so used up because there are holes in them. I suggest they need to train their staff on how to give better and clear directions. Travelers should take a taxi back to this place if they were to stay out late. It is walking distance from the city center but NOT a good place (safety) to walk back to this hotel late at night. I also wish the front desk people be more friendly.

"One night stay at Brussels"
Cruiser10813347842, 25 Juin 2019

One night stay at Best Western at Brussels was really good. Hotel is located in city centre not far from all tourist attractions. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and really nice. We were happy with this stay.

"Close to the center"
Natalia B, 04 Juin 2019

Very nice location. 15 mins walking to the city center. Around the hotel is amazing park. So beautiful. Room is very small, but clean and have all the amenities. There is cattle, tea and coffee in the room. For the few nights is perfect hotel. The only minus, is that there is stairs in the entrance. With a heavy luggage is so hard to go up.

"Not Worth It..."
littlebiggar1979, 30 Mai 2019

This hotel is located directly next to the train station Brussels-Nord, however it's a 30 minute walk to the downtown center square area. My check-in was a nightmare experience for me, traveling ALONE to Europe for the very first time. All my travel and lodging was pre-paid and arranged through Delta Vacations and Holiday-Plan-It. My agent was AMAZING but when I arrived at this hotel, the front desk staff was short with me and said they couldn't hold my reservation. They said even though it was booked in January 2019, they could only hold it until 1pm on the day I arrived in May. I arrived at 3pm to check-in. All info for the hotel said 3pm check-in. So they claimed to be BOOKED FULL for the next three days. I contacted my travel agent and after a few phone calls, which I could overhear in the back office, Delta Vacations contacted the hotel directly. After some yelling in French, the manager returned to me and said they figured it all out and it wasn't their fault but then had a room for me, for my full three day reservation. I'm not sure what game was being attempted but it scared me and the short rude behavior of the female front desk clerk and front desk manager was alarming and unprofessional in the service industry. I wasn't sure if I was being treated poorly because I am an American or what. But I was so upset, tears of frustration were shed in my room later once alone. The room was clean but the pillows smelled like other people's heads. The shower has a weird layout making it difficult to use. Not much hanging area for towels and/or washcloths. Based on my experience with staff at the front desk, I am buying my own supplies at nearby markets solely to avoid contacting the front desk for any of my needs. When you pay for accommodations, you should be treated appropriately and those accommodations should be honored equally. I'll never recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Worst hotel / area ever DO NOT STAY HERE"
Jamie G, 27 Avril 2019

The worst neighborhood/ walk to / from the train ever - sex shops (red light area) tons of questions people, drunks hanging out by the elevator at the train station who had puked beer on the floor and were smoking or you could take the tram and go through the botanical garden when it's open or an underpass with guys peeing everywhere...yup The hotel...ok if it's cheap but this is VERY cheap, the bed, the walls ect. Pretty dirty, we had a whole and two blood stains on our sheets, long hairs on the towels, pretty mold covered bathroom. Pillows feel like hard lumps, street is very loud at night, just generally a horrible place to stay! We had some nice staff but when I told the front desk about the sheets she told me it wasn't blood (even though I showed her a picture) but couldn't think of the English word for what it was and then said something in French under her breath to another person working. It was pretty rude and infuriating! I would highly advice to not stay here!

"Got upgrade, but air con broke. Staff couldn't do anything."
Phing T, 20 Avril 2019

The hotel and room was quite old, but the lobby was fine. Got free upgrade as I am the Gold member of the Best western Rewards; however the air conditioners system were all broke and the reception who was the only one available at the hotel at the time could do nothing to fix, as the technician was not available at the hotel and no other rooms were available that night. It was such a disappointment. Also the carpet around the bathroom area was quite wet, which likely caused by the clog water in the shower area. The lightning inside the bathroom is also very dim. However, the beds are quite cozy and acceptable clean. My experiene would be better if air conditioning works and staff could do something to fix the problem, which sadly did not happen. Also, just be a bit aware of the area at night, as the street nearby is the red light area.

"Good hotel.... Except if you want to shower!"
Patrícia C, 21 Mars 2019

The room was confortable and clean in a good location. The shower however was impossible to use since the water varied between too hot and too cold without way to control it.... The water in the bathtub was ok, but in the shower head was impossible to control. This was probably due to the use of an economy shower head. I complained in the reception desk... but in the second day was exactly the same.

"Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in Brussels!"
catherinejmackie, 22 Février 2019

Stayed at the Best Western City Centre in Brussels for a few nights on a recent trip. The hotel room was clean, spacious and was in general very lovely to stay in. Although we didn't really spend much time in the hotel apart from sleeping in the hotel, everyone found the hotel to be very comfortable and nice. The beds were very comfy, the shower and bathroom was clean and decent, and in general the room was very nice and good to go back to after busy days. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Brussels; the hotel was close by to the subway, and in general was a lovely hotel and we all had a great stay.

"Typical for Brussels"
Juregre, 22 Février 2019

Quick check in. The location is not so nice. Not for families. Quick check out. It will not stay in my memories for long. The room was clean. Only the bath tub has seen better times. Light in bathroom was not safe(raw wires)

"City location"
chrishew, 26 Janvier 2019

Hotel is located within the waking limits of city shops and restaurants. Staff is friendly and service is good. You have an optional breakfast in the morning for a little fee. I thought its better to go out and have a proper breakfast as there are more places to eat within 10-15mins walk. In the nighttime, streets near the hotel becomes bit empty but its not a major issue. I highly recommend this hotel, if you are looking for a budget accommodation in the central.

"Very good hotel"
727rickg, 21 Janvier 2019

This is actually a very good hotel in an almost perfect location. I really can't understand what some people on here are complaining about. First of all when we checked in we had a little problem with finding our reservation but it's because ide forgot ide put it under my girlfriend's name and not mine. Majid at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. We arrived early - about 9am and he had rooms available but not the one we'd booked. He offered us the choice though if we wanted to check in early. We politely declined but they held our bags for us until we came back to check in later. The rooms are a very decent size with modern decor and bathroom. We also had a nice balcony. The location is very convenient in distance from Brussels North Station - about 5mins walk. Use Brussels Central rail line from the airport as it does t say north, just get off on the first stop which is Brussels North. The only slight negative was it's a good 10mins walk from the centre and it's in the red light district, but this really didn't bother us. We booked through skyscanne and the price was unbelievably cheap. About €40 a night, and we booked the day before we arrived! Very very comfortable stay.

"Humble but decent hotel in good place"
786alekseyk, 08 Janvier 2019

Close to Brussels North Station and close to everything. Friendly staff and cosy rooms. Very affordable prices. Suitable as for family (except very little babies) as for business trips. Botanic park full of pleasure is quite near.

"Located near city center"
OldGuyWanderz, 06 Janvier 2019

Clean lobby, located near city center and train station. Very limited parking within the area, on-street only, so if you're driving into city you'll be hard pressed to park your car. Friendly front counter staff.

"Dreadful"
jennie102018, 12 Décembre 2018

I came home from brussels and i have to say it was the worst holiday i ever experienced. The hotel we stayed in best western was absolutely disgusting. The staff were lovely but the room itself was appalling. Ill add photos to show my experience. The carpet from the lift to the room was dated granted it get walked on daily but there is no need to let it get that bad. We walked into the room looked ok basic but when we looked down at the carpet we couldn't believe our eyes. I was afraid to walk in my bare feet. Stains everywhere. The counter top under the tv was all stained like tea was splashed on it or somethin even the walls in the toilet were the same. The brown pillow in one the pictures smelled so bad i doubt it has been changed in months. I slept with no pillows as it was dreadful. The bathroom shower head i doubt has ever been cleaned the scum on it was shocking along with the mould on the bath surround. The window didnt close properly and we had a draft. Also in the pictures see the mould and dirt on the windows. The location was definitely not central. It was beside the train station which was handy if you were to use it. We had a 20/25 minute walk to the main centre were the Christmas markets were. The location of the hotel was definitely not inviting at night so we made sure to get a taxi back as it was definitely not safe to walk back. As for our last day if 2 we tried to relax and have a lie on 10am a knock on the door the cleaning staff we said no thanks. We had the do not disturb sign on the door from the evening before. 10.30 she knocked again same thing my boyfriend went to the door. 11am i was walkin into the shower and THE CLEANING LADY WALKED STRAIGHT INTO OUR ROOM.NO KNOCK NOTHING. Check out was 12 noon. I have to say im highly annoyed as it was suppose to b a break away for myself and boyfriend which turned into an awful experience.

"Excellent service at the Reception desk."
Pioneer64509997456, 04 Novembre 2018

The receptionist Jordi (or was it Geordi?) gave us excellent service (in one of three languages) on our departure from the hotel on Friday 2 November. A particularly helpful and pleasant person. Well done!

"Poor hotel in Brussels"
Ruxi1234, 27 Octobre 2018

Noisy location in the middle of the Brussels red district, however close to Gare de Nord. We were a group occupying several rooms, so feedback covers more experiences: heating did not work in some rooms, even after asking for attendance from the receptionist; bathrooms are very old and damaged, windows barely closing, rusty heaters which are not functional; dirty sheets upon check-in from our group, poor housecleaning services, failing to refill amenities; breakfast served in an incredible tiny space for the capacity of the hotel and attended by unfriendly staff. However, I must say that after announcing on the first morning at the reception that we had problems with the breakfast service (no refills of food, refusing guests from serving breakfast, etc), things improved the next morning. Yet the girl still showed obvious unfriendliness, which left a bitter impression.

"Very nice hotel"
Goilav O, 18 Octobre 2018

We stay bere for 4 nights. Very clean room big room also. Modern facilities. Close to the turistic centre. Very nice staff.we recommand it.for the orice we payed it worth The brakfast is lasi ok. Not many possiblilities but lasi not poor.

"Great hotel "
X1932NAalexg, 11 Octobre 2018

I've spent 3 nights there while visiting Brussels. It was pretty cheap and for the price, it was an excellent deal. Very close to the train station, about 15-20 minutes away from the city centre, I couldn't have found a better location. The room was spacious and clean, had the option to heat water for tea or coffee. The only downside was the lack of a mini fridge. I recommended it if you are looking for an affordable hotel with a great location.

"Best Western City Centrei Brussels"
hyigci611365, 10 Octobre 2018

It was a nice experience to stay at Best Western City Centre at Brussels. It is very close to city centre, about 10-15 minutes by walking and close to metro station. There is a park just in front of the hotel.

"Very centralized"
Michael C, 05 Octobre 2018

The hotel is well kept, the maids are very efficient and the rooms are very clean. The front staff could be more otherwise is ok. Breakfast is nothing special and the waitress should be more friendly. The rack price is very high however through agency is worth the money. I should recomment it for business trip hotel

"Very convenient location"
edieann, 28 Septembre 2018

Located about three blocks from the train that takes you to and from the airport and an easy walk to almost every site you will want to see in Brussels, this was a great location. Front desk staff were very helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean and well lit. We had a small kitchenette and two bathrooms. Comfy bed and pillows. We were on the first floor and facing the street. In the morning we would hear traffic and people talking, but not during the night. Breakfast was lovely. There were assorted meats and cheeses, fresh made scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage plus delicious breads and pastries. Also cereals, yogurt and other items I'm forgetting. A great way to start your day!

"Excellent boutique hotel"
peacemaker100, 24 Septembre 2018

I stayed here one night before heading for a conference in Antwerp. The hotel is well located just 2 blocks from the Brussels Nord train station and across the street from the Botanic Garden, so a very quiet and pastoral setting. Rooms are modern with many amenities. The staff was very helpful, including helping me with an early checkin because my plane arrived early morning. Room was very quiet with only white noise from the nearby train station.

"Housekeeping is bad "
ABhishek2009, 17 Septembre 2018

Front office staff is very friendly and always ready to help , however housekeeping sucks there were hair in the bath tub and in the room and the lid of the bath tub was missing which was given later to me , Overhead shower is bad no pressure however bath tab after long day is good to soaking. If you are on vacation travel this is ok hotel as u will Only using for sleepy , however this is not the exact city center . Train station is near by and grand place is about 10-15 min walk . I was there for a holiday and breakfast is average .

"Functional hotel near the Bruxelles Nord station"
itchy_jp, 10 Septembre 2018

I have been staying in this hotel rather regularly. The property is in constant improvement and the newly renovated rooms are stylish and functional. The area around the hotel is not necessarily the best in Brussels, but I never had any problem. There are many authentic Turkish restaurants in the area of Botanical garden, which is next to the hotel.

"Clean rooms, great staff and service , location, and hot buffet breakfast. A great deal in Brussels, Belgium"
PeggyC1920, 19 Août 2018

We had wonderful experience stayed in Best Western Brussels City Centre from 7/9 to 7/14. I would like to thank Jordi , who made my stay so pleasant . After I just opened the door, Jordi harried helping my luggage, which is great for we elderly. He not only made sure we could get a room from the computer, but also went extra mile really went to upstairs room to make it ready for us, and the room is a suite, not a regular room we paid for ! That is really a surprise. Due to there was no vacancy on one of the day , we had to move out for one night. When we came back next morning, Jordi kept the same nice big room for us. We had pleasant conversation with him every day. He really made customers feel at home. There was one day we went back very late , he told us he was quite worried about us. Jordi certainly is the most passionate and helpful person to customers. He is the number 1. When we left , another gentleman Greg also helped us send luggage outdoor stairs .We definitely will come back, and do referrals for this hotel. The location is great too. Just turn right then left, pass the overpass, you can see Hilton and Crown Plaza, where is the city center with all shops, a 3 minutes walking distance, a park just across the street. And Viator uses Hilton as meeting place, that's the reason we chose Best Western for its convenience but much cheaper price. The hot buffet breakfast has great taste and varieties included in the price. The hotel is clean and comfortable, really a great deal.

"Centre location and good value "
OlaandKen, 10 Août 2018

Nice Hotel. Clean and modern. Not the best part of Brussels but close to City centre and North train station. Also has a massive police station beside it so safe enough. Botanical Park, central for main tram and metro routes. Usually runs in around 120 euros for two nights midweek.

"Pleasant staying!"
BlerinaG1, 28 Mai 2018

The location of the hotel is good, near by the botanist park and accessible from some metro and bus stations. The room was clean, well furnished and the TV list was rich of international channels to choose in English as well. The girl at the reception desk at my arrival as well as the gentleman at my departure were very helpful. During my staying the breakfast area was being renovated and i really liked the final result. I would really appreciate a pair of flip flops :) in the room.

"Poor Quality "
Ahmed S, 08 Avril 2018

The hotel seems fine and clean from outside but the services are very poor , My room had not been cleaned for 2 days Plus broken mirror and expensive for the service they offer The location is great . Thanks

"Better options"
Dan f, 31 Mars 2018

Location is suitably close to the main shopping and tourist areas with easy access to the local transport. The rooms were tired and in need of maintenance with renovation work underway during our stay. A man on the front desk was very rude and made a mistake with our booking when checking in and proceeded to charge us for his mistake on checking out. Felt like we had been scammed out of 25 euros. Will not be staying here again

"Good but could be better!"
JamieNichols1989, 17 Mars 2018

This hotel is in a more business area than tourist but very convenient if your arrive via the Gare Du Noord. Hotel is going through a refurb downstairs and hopefully that'll make it's way into the rooms as they were looking a little tired and dated. Wifi was intermittent on the 5th floor too.

"Not cleaned. "
Erica C, 05 Mars 2018

The room is not cleaned. The furniture is old. There are hairs of people in the bed. The walls are not white anymore. The room is big but faces the street and this is noisy. The position might be good but the rest is really not good.

"Good mid range option"
Brian L, 28 Janvier 2018

This is a decent hotel on the edge of the centre and within walking distance to transport and the main attractions. It's clean and quiet and the staff are nice. I had a single room which as very functional and included a jug. The shower was over a deep bath and I felt a little unstable getting in and out, but made it ok. The wifi signal is good.

"Hotel accommodation "
Spike L, 28 Décembre 2017

Not the greatest if you expect at least some small luxuries. Very run down standard of quality for a hotel stopover. Carpets are in dirty condition. Kingsize bed is soft and acceptable. Room size is fairly limited. Bathroom also very compact. Rated 3 star but only 1 star by South African standard. Good enough for a cheap 2 night sleepover. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Well positioned in the Central City for walking. Taxi readily available when called. Breakfast is adequate and comparable with basic Continental type standards.

"Awful service"
António B, 25 Décembre 2017

Room had hair in the sheets, mold in bath corners. Worst was the front desk receptionist who laughed off the complaints and finished with 'Is that all?' He also promised to compensate us with a nice gesture, but did not go through with anything. Did manage to keep our luggage after we checked out.

"excellent value for money; nicely remodeled rooms, coffeemaker, nice view"
zsebibabak, 21 Novembre 2017

I disagree with the negative ratings and comments. Given the prices in Brussels, this is a great choice if you get a good price on this (I got one through booking for less than eur 60 and even got breakfast). It is great value: yes, the corridors are still a bit run down, but everything else is perfect. Nicely redone rooms with nice modern design; high quality and crisp clean bedding, huge bed with good mattras. Coffee maker and supplies available, bathtub, stylish bathroom. So better equipped than most *** hotels. I also had a very nice view from my room to a small park. 7 minutes walk to Gare du Noord; 3 min to Rogier, next to Botanique park. All in all, I would surely stay here again, great location, nice interior, good service.

"Interesting location / style"
Amy L, 18 Novembre 2017

The location: To say that the location was a bit of a shock, was an understatement. Some would say "You booked it, surely you knew the area it was in?". Well yes .... and no. Most maps don't highlight the edge of the red light distrct, and I certainly wasn't aware that one wrong turn down behind this hotel would take me there. Luckily it was just one night. The room: Cramped, the Airconditioning / heating didn't work, piles of dust in coners. Pleather headboard and chair was so old it was cracked and flaking. I was nervious to walk around without shoes on. The bathroom had been renovated (at some point) but who knows when or which cowboy did it! Safe to say, I didn't sleep well... and will not ever be staying or venturing remotely close to this hotel again.

"OK for the price"
Sofia B, 14 Novembre 2017

It is not an expensive hotel so I think that the quality was good for the price. The room and bathroom was clean and that is the most important. The hotel was being remodelated so the main areas were in remodeling, which causes more dust. The breakfast could be a little better (more diversity).

"Only if you need to be near the station"
kerschmi, 08 Novembre 2017

It's a quite run down place, not really clean with a below average breakfast. Room are tiny an windows do not close properly. Only good thing: water pressure in the shower. Only recommended if you need to stay near the north station.

"Does not even deserve a 1 star!!!"
Hannes P, 31 Octobre 2017

Stayed here for 4 nights with a friend! Our room wasn't cleaned once! I left the hotel this morning and informed the hotel reception about this, and they assured me they will have housekeeping come by my room. Got back at 7pm and still no housekeeping! I went downstairs to ask if we can at least get fresh towels and the manager came to the room with small hand towels and said that, that is the only fresh towels that's available! DON'T STAY HERE!!!

"Excellent location, accommodations, and staff!"
HighlandTraveler22, 25 Octobre 2017

Great location near downtown, near the train station. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Their English was excellent which helped us a ton since we didn't know dutch. The breakfast was excellent, and we were there for only 1 night, but they let us grab a little breakfast even though we were leaving 15 minutes before breakfast was served. I will be back for sure!!!

"Good Value City Hotel"
John V, 28 Septembre 2017

The hotel is walking distance from Brussels North Station - and is a typical 3 star city centre hotel - All the facilities were of a good standard with tea and coffee making in the room. The surrounding area is a bit run down but we had no issues whilst there.

"Great stay"
54dragonfly, 12 Septembre 2017

Very centrally located. Great staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. The main facilities; lobby, breakfast, internet, etc were great. If i could make one recommendation that would be to change carpet in rooms. Otherwise, a great place to stay, shop and site see

"Poor quality hotel"
User, 01 Septembre 2017

Tv in the room was broken and staff didn't even try to compensate or fix the issue. Would not recommend to stay at this hotel. Bronxy surroundings an be a little frightening for some people, but for me it wasn't an issue.

"Try somewhere else"
ajm549, 28 Août 2017

Taxi driver struggled to find the location on a Saturday. It is disturbingly near Brussels Nord station which comes alive with immigrant sleepers in the area at night. The a/c was not working on a night with 25 deg C temperatures so slept on the bed with the window open which made for a lot of noise in rooms overlooking the Botanic Building. Breakfast was cheap and cheerful for E12.5 and for a room rate of E88 in high season, you probably get what you pay for.

"A Dreadful Night ! Avoid this hotel"
sugato_11, 23 Juillet 2017

Unfortunately, I am a member of Best Western chain of hotels and booked this room with my points. This was by far one of my worst experience ever. With temperatures more than 30 degrees, to my horror the AC in the room wasn't working. Even after complaining to receptionist and he giving me another room, the situation was same. As per him, the AC problem has been there in the hotel since long and the owner is reluctant to rectify the same. WOW! You run a hotel and you dnt have the basic amenity of a AC?????? Really strange!!!!! It was one of my worst nights in Europe. Thanks to Best Western! Even after complaining to their customer care post my visit, they said that the hotel said they did the best they could do at that point of time. I am not sure what the hell does that mean?? Also the location though near a metro station, is a red light area. Me n my wife didnt feel comfortable venturing out at night. The only good thing about the hotel was the new receptionist (lady) the next morning who kept our luggage in storage and was very nice and helpful. Please AVOID this hotel at any cost !!

"Convenient city hotel"
itchy_jp, 20 Juin 2017

I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past mainly due to the proximity to the Bruxelles Nord stain station. The surroundings of the hotel is not very nice, because it is just next to a red right district, but I never felt any danger. The members of staff were generally friendly and I also got a decent room with a good view to the south.

"Near from the Brussel Nord but wierd location"
Kristjan L, 13 Juin 2017

Hotel with the small rooms. Location is near from the Brussel Nord railway station but when you are walking in the evening its not so safe. The breakfast was not so good - small selection of different food.

"Nah....never again!!!"
Shrutionwanderlust, 09 Juin 2017

Definitely not worth the price....aircons not working....breakfast was decent...rooms very compact. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Reception staff was non cooperative. Around 30mins walk from the main tourist area

"mediocre"
Begüm H, 23 Mai 2017

I stayed the hotel because of my business trip. Since I made my reservation in last minute I paid more than the hotel deserves. First of all, breakfast was not enough. Although the hotel is close to the metro station, environment of the hotel is a bit underbelly since one of my friends' wallet was stolen around (under the bridge). As the hotel is so close to the buildings around, the rooms are generally dark. one morning I woke up because of the voices coming from next apartment's construction works. And the internet connection was the slowest and worst one that I have ever seen!

"served its purpose"
John_England78, 09 Mai 2017

I took this hotel as I had a meeting opposite at the botanic building. It was around €65 for the night, and you get what you pay for. Clean, but basic and the bathroom needed updating. As I noly arrived late and simply needed to get my head down for the night i t was fine. I probably wouldnt stay here for a vacation, or pay anywhere near their advertised €250 rack rate.

"not recommended"
tom m, 15 Mars 2017

Personel was not friendy, maybe I was unlucky and get the guy who was working night shift, I don't know, but anyway...... Rooms are very average,, doors and windows are old and not working properly. My room was not clean as I would expected. I would go next time to other hotel.

"OK but"
gobunti, 07 Mars 2017

The hotel is well located and convenient for public transport, staff are friendly and helpful but the decor is tired and the corridors are a tad dingy. Rooms and bathrooms are correct but a little bizarre in terms of layout. This is not an expensive hotel in terms of the offer but for just a few more euros you can do very much better. Avoid breakfast, for the price it is a real scam.

"Pleasant staying"
Cristian T, 01 Mars 2017

Nice, clean and comfortable room. Quite close to the subway station and very close to the Gare de Bruxelles-Nord. There were not so many choices for breakfast. Poor wireless signal inside the room. Red district is just after the corner.

"Good choice for budget trip"
Char M, 07 Février 2017

The hotel and room itself are nice! Perfect size room for one person. The front desk staff were more than extremely helpful with any queries I had, especially on must see attractions in the city. The location itself isn't too great. While it is very close to the metro line the walk to the hotel at night-time doesn't feel very safe, and as I was travelling alone I didn't feel at ease. It's a bit of a walk to the Grand Place and other tourist attractions but to get the good price for a Brussels hotel it's worth a stay.

"Filthy room"
Claire O, 02 Février 2017

I just recently stayed in this hotel and I have to say that I was disgusted with it! When I arrived in my room there was pubic hairs in the bath from whoever was there before me. The curtains in the bathroom were both filthy and half hanging off the wall. The curtains in the main bedroom were also full of stains and also the walls were also very dirty! I've never seen the likes of it before and I've stayed in both cheaper and expensive places. If I owned this hotel I would be mortified at the state the rooms are kept as I've no doubt that my room was not the only one like this.

"Decent place for a short stay"
Dimitri777, 20 Novembre 2016

I stayed last month in Best Western City Centre in Brussels for 2 nights. The hotel has a good location, close to the Gare du Nord in a quiet neighborhood. The interior is really outdated, also the furniture in the rooms. Rooms are spacious, but are equipped with 3 beds, which for a single use in not so convenient. Windows are wooden and old and do not provide a good insulation from outside. Bathroom was also very aged and needs renovation. Cleanliness did not meet entirely my expectations. Internet was awfully weak and slow. Beds were comfortable. Staff was polite and ready to serve. The best asset of this hotel was breakfast - various, sufficient and of a good quality. Especially coffee - this is among the very few hotels anywhere, where you prepare for yourself a real espresso according to your taste. I think this last fact can compensate for itself at least 4 other disadvantages... Thank you, Best Western City Centre in Brussels.

"Great Location"
AhBanBan, 11 Novembre 2016

The hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes walking from the train station north and 20 minutes walking to the Grand Place. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable although a fresh coat of paint would help. The two staff we met were both fantastic and readily assisted us with directions. The breakfast was a typical European breakfast with breads, cheeses and scrambled eggs. All in all, not a bad place to stay.

"Very good service and value for money"
94009007, 19 Octobre 2016

Staying for work at a nearby European Commission building and this was much lower priced than the Hilton/Sheraton etc. but still only 5 mins walk away. Very friendly service at reception and the hotel bar has reasonably priced drinks. I didn't have breakfast but the dining area looked clean and comfortable. My room (108) had everything I needed (comfy bed, good shower, clean, free wifi) and overall I think they offer good value for money for those on a budget.

"Tourist trip"
??????? ?, 01 Octobre 2016

Location: - The hotel is located near Bussels Nord railway station (550 metres ~ 8 minutes). So it's easy to go from city airport to the hotel for 20 minutes (From the airport to railway station - 12 minutes, 8 minutes - from the railway station to the hotel). It's also very comfortable to visit other interesting cities such as Brugges, Gent, Luxembourg because of the railway station nearness. - You can reach historical Brussels centre or European quarter in 10-15 minutes, of course it's also possible to reduce travel time using the nearest metro station - Botanique, cycle or other transport. Service - There were some non-serious issues in the hotel. There were at least 4 administrators but administrator Adil was so lucky to work during the happenned issues. It absolutely was not his fault, nevertheless he solved our requestes quickly, effectively and without disturbing us. So we personally thank him for his work. We recommend hotel's management to promote adminstrator Adil. - By default rooms don't conatin hairdryer but it's possible to request it for free. There are fridge, air conditioner, tea/coffee suits including simple and diabetic sugar in rooms. - Wi-Fi: free, highspeed, good connection but extremous unstable (wi-fi singal is enough but internet too often isn't avalible). Administration, please fix it! - Cleaning service was qualitative without any trouble. - Breakfast: It's possible to have a square meal or to have a light breakfast. But food assortment isn't wide. - Our room was nice.

"Good one night stay"
Madalina93, 26 Septembre 2016

We only stayed for one night at this hotel so cannot faulty it. Bed was comfy and staff seemed very nice. We didn't had any meals at the hotel so cannot comment on that. The city Centre is quite easily accessible and we were also able to park for free.

"Very good"
Nigelccc, 20 Septembre 2016

stayed here for one night on the 17th of September, we arrived early in the morning and met a nice cheerful man at reception who kindly took our bags while we went off to explore while waiting for our room. The room was very nice one big double bed, the bathroom had a great shower and plenty of towels, the room was quiet big. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the north train station, there are a couple of good restaurants by the rogier metro stop which is just around the corner (5 mins) by the Sheraton hotel. The city centre is about a 15-20 min walk from the hotel.

"Good hotel in the Rogien area!"
Timur S, 18 Septembre 2016

Stayed twice in this hotel and could say that it was a nice and comfy hotel. The receptionists were very nice and welcoming! Breakfast was good and filling! It's located a bit far from the city center and don't know why it's called city center?! Anyone?)) Anyway, thumbs up for the staff!

"A positively average hotel"
Daniel N, 13 Septembre 2016

I've been visiting this hotel for the last 5 years, and first of all I must say that this is an average hotel and nothing special. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, the bathrooms could use some renovation, but nothing out of the ordinary. The floors are mainly accessible through an elevator, which is pretty peculiar, but the thing is that the stairs are small, so the elevator is the best option. The position of the hotel is good, with the North Station just some 150 m away, and the city centre can be reached by foot in about half an hour. The breakfast is relatively diverse, but offers the same things each morning. The receptionists and hotel staff are professional and multilingual, which is a big plus for me who doesn't speak French. The only "problematic" thing worth mentioning is the neighbourhood. One street away from the hotel is the red light district and residential area which is, by the words of the receptionist, "not considered safe after a certain daytime". But ironically, the Belgian Central Police Station is located just next to the hotel. I personally never had any trouble or felt unsafe in the past 5 years, but it thought it would be good to mention it.

"Alright, but too many hiccups"
edinger78, 09 Septembre 2016

I was going to write a scorching review but changed my mind upon further reflection. You see, this is not a terrible hotel be any standard. Well, it's certainly not the most modern or the most beautifully located, but ultimately what makes us rate this hotel unfavourably is the sum of too many minor hiccups. For starters, when we arrived we were told that our booking did not include breakfast for the duration of our stay although according to the receipt from Booking.com breakfast was indeed included. We realise that Booking.com may be at fault here, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very bad introduction. Next thing, the wi-fi connection. Horrendously slow and unstable. Moving on. Since my spouse is suffering from gluten allergy I asked a member of the staff whether it was possible to get gluten-free bread. What annoyed me was not so much the answer, which was no. What annoyed me was the fact that the person didn't speak English. Like, at all. I mean, how can you run a hotel in an international city like Brussels and employ staff that speaks exclusively French? Fact is, you can't. At least not if you want to give the impression that you have any interest in accommodating the needs of your guests. There's free coffee in the room though. That's nice. I couldn't find any milk however. Or milk powder. So I helped myself to some milk in the lobby, causing a bewildered and very "French" receptionist to utter the words ... "yeah, you are not really supposed to do that". C'mon! Would you please show me some courtesy?! This is a hotel, right? Those experiences aside, things are OK. The beds are comfortable. As are the pillows. And the location, albeit perhaps not in the nicest part of town, is convenient enough, within walking distance of one of the city's main shopping streets as well as a number of metro stops. Bottom line. Arriving from Namur and Ghent where we stayed at excellent Ibis hotels, we definitely felt let down by Best Western City Centre. Subpar on a number of levels although pricewise comparable. Next time we're in Brussels we'll make other arrangements. Perhaps this became a scorching review after all. You'll be the judge.

"Rude Staff"
Gadi385, 29 Août 2016

15 min walk from the central station, about 45 min walk from the city center If you want to see the city I would stay in a closer location. OK rooms retentively clean but a bit small with a small window facing a wall so I had no view. The price was relatively low however the manager was rude to me so I will not return to this hotel. If you want to stay by the main train station I would recommend a different hotel with nicer staff.

"Wifi broken but decent stay"
Isobel A, 10 Août 2016

We only stayed in the hotel for one night, and decided to get the buffet breakfast for extra which was good for a 3 star hotel! Our room was generally pleasant, but the bathroom was extremely cramped and had the beginnings of a mouldy damp ceiling. Surprisingly for a hotel chain, the wifi didn't work for either of us our enter stay, which is inconvenient when you are trying to research the best places to visit in the city.

"Ok hotel "
Amanda L, 09 Août 2016

This hotel wasn't the cleanest and is in a bit of a bad looking area. That said however, the staff at the hotel are very friendly and happy to be of any assistance. It is still about a 20 minute walk into the city centre but not a bad walk and there is plenty of public transport around.

"My opinion..."
christospap02, 06 Août 2016

The hotel was very nice for it's cost. The staff was friendly; we went there with my school during the attacks and they calmed us down and gave us free refreshments! It has nice view and it is close to the center of the city. There is a square nearby that has some nice restaurants and cafes.????

"Tomorrowland visit"
MattyM661, 26 Juillet 2016

Great value for money! Extremely friendly staff and close to Noords station. Bicycle rental very close. Newly renovated room????taxis we're very expensive. Lots of nice parks very close by if you do enjoy a walk. ????????????????????????????????

"Pleasantly surprised, much improved hotel (since my previous visit), friendly and problem-solver front desk guy"
Madjid A, 17 Juillet 2016

I stayed at this hotel a few years back and was not impressed in spite of its "best western" logo. But, this time I was rather pleased at how much and how fast this hotel has improved. I checked in a large room with all the modern amenities including very good air-conditioning, excellent WIFI, good cable tv (and large flat screen tv) and coffee/tea making facility. My fourth floor room was amazingly quiet in spite of ongoing construction in the vicinity. Soundproofing must be very effective. I will not hesitate to book this hotel again for its proximity to the North railway station and botanical garden, friendly staff, quietness and its modern appeal.

"Economical"
Saraswatii, 05 Juillet 2016

Good location near the North Station and the park. Bathrooms are modern and clean. People are very friendly, comfortable and clean rooms. But the red district is very close. This hotel is a good option for stay few days in Brussels

"Very nice people"
Hiverblanc, 04 Juin 2016

Personnel at front desk and in dining room very very nice. The hotel could use some renovation. Difficult to enter the hotel with suitcases. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty. I expected more of a Best Western hotel.

"Very clean and nice staff"

"Good hotel"
topgun4321, 01 Mai 2016

Great little budget hotel, good location with an easy walk to the city. Clean rooms, the continental breakfast is adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful, they made us feel welcome and I would stay at this hotel again because its good value for money.

"Not bad"
Feeling_poorly, 27 Avril 2016

Stayed with friends. Hotel staff polite, nice and quiet and walking distance to city centre but a bit of a dodgy area. Food at brekkie not bad, rooms clean enough. You get what you pay for so can't complain!

"Easy to reach, well-connected, friendly staff and good value for money"
Luigi S, 11 Mars 2016

The Hotel is just a short walk from Brussels North station through part of the red light district, nothing to worry about at all.. Brussels may look shabby but it's actually a quite safe and civilised town. I have only been there once... but I had the impression it is the kind of city you have to visit more and more before understanding it, really. Surely not the "first time tourist visiting" type of city. The hotel is located in a very convenient area, Brussels North is just two stops from Midi (south station) where Eurostar goes, and the train system is very efficient in Belgium (think about UK trains but much cheaper and shorter routes). Ghent and Bruges are just 40/50 minutes away and trains runs till late, making Brussels a great position for visiting Belgium without too much effort. I'd recommend the Best Western to anybody that wants to travel and see places and only use the hotel to crash back at night and be close to main transportation routes.

"Dirty, Shabby and next door to the red light district."
Phil H, 01 Février 2016

This Hotel is dirty and the carpets in two of the rooms I stayed and the coridoors had very bad stains. the windows were so dirty you could draw in the grime. there is no excuse for a dirty hotel, even the windows opened into the room for easy access to clean the outside. During Label Expo the charged over €300 for a sub standard room. The breakfast may be free but I personally wouldn't eat eggs that are already pealed and sit in the same bole day after day, God only knows how long they have been sitting there. In one of the rooms there were cables festooned across the wall to power a small TV. the bathroom heater, was hanging on the wall be a thread with cobwebs all over the cables. the bathroom door frame was damaged with rotting wood exposed. there wasn't any room other than on the bed to open your case. One positive note: the two staff (one lady and one gentleman) working at reception were very helpful and did make you feel appreciated as a guest, unlike the management!

"Christmas Market visit December 2015 - Friendly staff"
Brian J, 27 Janvier 2016

We stopped in December 2015 whilst visiting the Christmas Markets. We found the staff Adil (main man on reception) very helpful, informative and friendly. We arrived at 8.00am and within 15 - 20 mins although hotel was full had a room for us. This room was clean, tidy and recently updated. Complimentary fridge, kettle and WIFI available in our room. We must also mentionn Gica who served good breakfast and cleaned our room daily as well as Sunjah and a Russian lady on reception who were both helpful especially with directions for short cut to town and markets. The main shopping area including one of the biggest shopping Malls in Brussels only 5 minutes walk and the markets although spread out in different areas the first of which took 15 - 20 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and are planning to return again this year. Well done Best Western Brussels Central.

"Un-friendly Bad food"
Barb R, 14 Janvier 2016

Stayed at the best Western City centre Belgium, rooms small pokey. Food just pathetic. No fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet. Even when I asked if they could provide fresh fruit since we were staying their for 4 days, wouldn't accommodated my request. Had to endure canned fruit for breakfast. Even worse was the rubbery scrambled eggs, rubbery sausages, and the plastic skin wrapping was left on the salami. Just applauding. never again. best western name is now in the gutter as far as i am concerned.

"Nice location.Not very comfortable room"
58yuliyad, 04 Janvier 2016

I liked the location,it's around 5 minutes walk from the Nord Station, you are close to the skyscrapers and city center. But the hotel room leave much better to desire. the first thing I noticed were dirty and torn ?urtains both in bathroom and in the room. The door in the bathroom didn't close properly. And the cushions are big for sleep,we had to take them away and sleep without them, cause they kee your head too high. Poor wifi. No warning in advance about additional tourist tax. But nice staff in the hotel

"Good budget break"
davidwnorth, 01 Janvier 2016

It was ok and a typical Best Western business type hotel with standard facilities. Not the best area and a half hour plus walk to the City Centre. Suggest you use the Metro at Rogier a 10 minute walk with direct access (2 stops) to The Bourse which is itself a few minutes away from The Grand Place etc. Better to use the Metro rather than walking back late at night although safe enough. Watch out for beggars though. Handy for the Nord Station and direct access to the Airport - fast train in 20 mins.

"Christmas Market Visit, December '15"
Matt W, 07 Décembre 2015

Negatives: - The room was dirty - carpets and surfaces - Previous occupants had left food in the fridge which housekeeping hadn't cleared - Breakfast not worth the 12.50 paid per person per day (12.50 per person for some lukewarm cocktail sausages and pastries?!) - Housekeeping not understanding the concept of do not disturb. - Card machine failed on arrival leading to a 20 minute wait whilst I was initially told it was down to my bank/account/funds, but it turned out to be a connection error with their device. Positives: - Friendliness of the receptionist on the desk when we arrived, who was courteous, polite and apologetic during the check-in card problem and friendly throughout our stay - The location is good. It's by a lovely park, the botanical gardens and within an easy walk of the main tourist attractions (Grand place etc.) and a metro station, and Brussels-Nord

"Good hotel for 3*"
Lora B, 03 Décembre 2015

Booked a standard room with breakfast for around £65 and for the money there is no complaint. It's in an ok location wouldn't necessarily like to walk there at night on my own as streets leading up to it are dark and a bit isolated. In comparison to where everything is in the city it's not far out and there is a metro stop nearby however for transport links from the airport etc it is out of the way. This is the poor transport links fault from the airport that take you to the midi station which is right at the other end and not the hotels fault. First room we went in was a standard room which we had paid for and was small but nice however it had a lot of damp which hadn't just happened and the floor was flooded from rain leaking in through the windows. Staff were vet good and changed our room straight away with no fuss and gave us an upgraded room at no extra cost. Staff are polite friendly and helpful Breakfast is good and does the job 3* is all I can give as the finishing a in the hotel, rooms and breakfast areas are quite shoddy and there is a lot of damp Would I use this hotel again though? Yes it was very good value for what I paid but wouldn't have paid more

"3 night break to brussels"
pete k, 10 Novembre 2015

A decent hotel just outside the city centre,, surrounding area is in the red light district,, but we felt safe walking to and from the hotel in a small group,, hotel was clean and tidy,,rooms were of good standard,, typical continental breakfast with some bacon and hot dog sausages added too,,receptionists were very helpful,,only downside was they charged us €5 a day per room tourist tax which we wasn't told about when booking,, but only a minor grumble

"Average hotel - rate good because of the price"
Rohit M, 08 Novembre 2015

As my review heading says, it's a average hotel but good at the price. Only breakfast served, free or paid depending on the package at the time of booking. No lunch and dinner available. Decent staff . lighting in rooms is very low by any standard. I don't know if the rooms are air conditioned, I was here in Nov and weather was good and just spent few hours at the hotel so didn't needed one so not sure if it was present and working. Near the north station where buses from France land. Convenient location to central Brussels specially the main attraction 'grand place'. Also near to comic book house and the central station. Central station is where the famous basilica is and it's also the starting point of the "city tour buses" which are in my view a must take to understand importance of Brussels and see all major places. So overall if you are in the city to see places around and spend minimum time in hotel is a decent bet.

"Budget hotel"
mihajloz, 11 Octobre 2015

I have spent here 2 nights. Room was clean but not particularly good isolated nor spacey. Breakfast was ok, nothing extraordinary. Stuff was friendly and ok, willing to help. Location is quite ok, center is 10-15 minutes walk. If you are not a prince or a princess :) hotel is totally fine. I would book here again.

"Poor internet"
RangeRooney, 05 Octobre 2015

I stayed here for 2 nights while going to RSC Anderlecht. The room and bed were good, but the hallway had burned out bulbs so it was very dark trying to get to my room. The bathroom was clean but not great. My biggest complaint by far had to be unreliable wifi. I had problems getting connected, and the connection was agonizingly slow. It is also not in a great location, as it's hard to get to via public transportation. It is over 0.5 miles from any metro station. Additional, it is a couple blocks from the Red Light District, if that's your scene. Not really mine, so don't expect any decent restaurants or bars.

"Not a business hotel"
Peter G, 05 Octobre 2015

The hotel is not suitable for business travel. The internet is at best patchy, at worst appalling - I had to tether to my mobile phone at not inconsiderable expense, despite complaining twice. I had a second device I tried and this had the same issue, so it was not my laptop. My second floor room was shabby, with lipstick on the curtains, coffee stains ingrained into the sideshelf, what looked like chewing gum marks on the floor. I asked to be moved because of the constant noise in the bathroom (which in fairness was fixed by a man with a spanner), but was told the hotel was full and that my room was recently refurbished. The bathroom window had no curtain, the extractor fan was a hole in the wall. Walk outside the building and less than 50m on your right, you come to a road with plenty of neon lights in the windows - at night I didn't feel particularly safe walking back to the hotel (which has no restaurant). Breakfast was mediocre, with a slab of scrambled egg, bacon and cut up boiled sausage. Cereals, cooked meats, cheap yoghurts in plentiful supply, with bread, croissants and the like. The place setting opposite me regularly had crumbs from the previous day's breakfast (I was always first down). I lost count of the number of sirens I heard at night. Never again!

"okay budjet hotel near the city center"
Kurttu, 15 Septembre 2015

Hotel is located near the North railwaystation. It is very easy to walk to the city center and the metro station is also near by. Just the area around the railway station is not nice. The staff was very helpful and spoke good english. The room was okay and the bathroom was big enough.

"simple hotel"
Uwe R, 31 Août 2015

The hotel is in walking distance to the city center (15-20min). Regarding the city the price is very good and the rooms are what you can expect for the price: clean but simple. The parking situation is quite difficult, the hotel has no parking place. If you want to explore Brussel on low budget: this maybe the hotel you are looking for.

"Average"
Tom M, 22 Août 2015

Fairly average hotel and thus somewhat slow standard for a Best Western. Room was spacious and comfortable; reasonably priced; well-located near North train station; wifi free. Very quiet (I didn't see a single other guest while I was there for 4 nights). Some aspects substandard: wifi, though free, was often slow and tended to cut out. Reception staff, though helpful when they were around, tended not to be - it was initially deserted at both check-in and check-out. Though conveniently located for the North station, the walk into central Brussels was a 15/20 minute walk, made longer by the unusual location of the hotel - to reach the city centre one had to either go around the block, under a dark railway bridge and then cross a busy main road or alternatively one could walk through the Botanical gardens, which closed in the evening and thus could not be accessed at night.
