"Eh"
Nice hotel, unfortunately there were a ton of teenage hockey players that were incredibly rude and cussing a lot in front of my 3 year old. Room was either way to hot or way to cold, parking lot way EXTREMELY icy. Pool was nice and nice surprise that it had an arcade and business center.
"Would recommend"
This was our first visit to Best Western Plus Blaine. Staff was very helpful, and the bed was very comfortable. Even though our room was right off the stairs, our room was quiet. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Nice hotel near the Schwann Super Center"
I was coming from a warm weather location to Blaine MN in December. The weather was as expected: cold, snowy, icy. Since I'm not in the habit of driving in these conditions, I wanted a hotel near Schwann to minimize my time on the road. This hotel fit the bill. The rooms were clean, if a bit dated (something my wife has taught me to notice). I had a room with a king bed and a small suite, which was nice - I didn't have to live/work on the bed, there was some separation. Breakfast was a nice mix of hot and cold items. There's always coffee/tea available.
"Pleasantly surprised"
Very clean, comfortable and homey with friendly staff and a large selection of hot and cold breakfast choices, in a large seating area. Close to Hwy 65, but I had no issues with noise. The only thing missing here is a guest laundry.
"Nice place!"
This Best Western was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Great breakfast offerings! The only thing that would make it better is if it lasted a little longer. Being centrally located so it's near restaurants and shopping is a plus. Making check-out at noon would be ideal, but it's understandable that it's earlier in order to make the rooms ready for the next guests. I hope they feel the same as i did abut this cool hotel. I plan on staying again next time I'm in the area. (All of these things make up for the slowest elevators on the planet.)

Hi Kristen! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! We value your feedback and are always trying to find ways to improve our guest experience! I'm very happy that your experience made up for our slow elevators, they do get a lot of use. That comment made me laugh a little bit because it is quite accurate! We have tried to get some work done on them to improve that though. I hope you'll come back and see us again sometime soon! Thank you again for your time!
"Clean rooms, breakfast included, pool/arcade"
Rooms are kept clean with fridge and coffee maker, the breakfast has a great selection to choose from, has a pool/hot tub/arcade, the hotel is right next to Culver's and is close to the national sports center.

"Don't second guess staying here"
I tried to save $20-50 a night by going to two other hotels in the area. I ended up coming here for my remaining three nights. I am so glad I did, this hotel was by far worth the extra money. Sometimes it is not worth trying to skimp on where you are staying. The breakfast food offered was decent for not having a full kitchen.

"Great location if you're going to the National Sports Center"
This hotel is reasonably priced, and was very clean. It's just a 5 minute drive to the Nation Sports Center complex. I even walked over there one day, and it took about 15 minutes. My only knock on the place is the limited parking in front. The is a Culvers Restaurant in front of the hotel with a non stop line of cars going through the drive thru. My room was on the back of the hotel and I never heard any noise, but I wondered if that would be an issue for rooms on the front. It's almost required to drop your bags at the door, and then drive around back to park as the parking lot on the front entrance side is almost exclusively reserved for Culvers.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! We value your feedback and are always pleased to hear that we were able to make a positive impact on someone's life and travel experience! I do apologize about the Culver's parking and as much we'd love to let our guests park there because it's convenient, it is their lot and our guests get in the way of their delivery truck drivers making it extremely difficult for them to get in and out safely. Should you stay with us again in the future, please know, it is perfectly ok to leave your vehicle at the front door under the porte-cochere while you unload your belongings! Thank you again for your time!
"Awesome"
Well kept, friendly staff, freshly prepared breakfast, we enjoyed it. Kids enjoyed the choices of pool. Also water was warm for the kids to swim in. Rooms were clean had a corner room with two different view

"Overall"
Breakfast was horrible and cheap. Booked online for 209$ just to arrive and be uncharged for 249$ curtains are immobile and you can see from your room to the dining areas nearby and people in the parking lot surrounding the building. Curtains that are movable are see through on both ends looking in and out.

Hello Erika, I am so sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations and that our breakfast wasn't quite what you were looking for. We do appreciate your feedback as, it gives us areas that we can pay attention to and look into further. It appears you also had some frustration revolving around your rate so I did some looking into it for you. You were only charged for room and tax, the online prices you see, do not include tax in the initial rate. However, the total cost for your stay does show up in your confirmation email. The additional authorization for incidentals, which varies hotel to hotel, is released by us as soon as you check out but, after that it is up to your bank and account set up how quickly you receive it back. If there are any other questions you may have, please feel free to contact us directly @ 763.792.0750 We sincerely hope that you choose to stay with us again in the future! Thank you!
"Lydia was the best!!!"
The check in staff Lydia and the entire staff were absolutely very welcoming and just overall best hotel stay in a long time. Especially the pool & arcade with my kids were amazing. Even better there breakfast is really a hot meal. I recommend this hotel to anyone with family, business etc because they are above satisfactory :)

"Perfect experience!"
My family took a mini vacation and randomly stumbled on this hotel. We were all so satisfied with our experience. This hotel has a great selection of video games in their game room. It was actaully way larger than we expected. Their pool was excatly what we were looking for. We have 3 young boys amd having a hot tub, regular pool and a mini warm pool was so great. We will always be coming to this hotel.

"Great local getaway"
My husband and I were looking to getaway without the expense of traveling too far. Best Western exceeded our expectations after reading the reviews. We were there during the weekday which makes a huge difference in terms of other guests. We did notice on Friday night the amount of kids in the hotel increased exponentially. These kids were not being regulated which led to loud noise in the hallways and above our heads. During our last night I thought the ceiling was going to fall in on us. Overall it was a great stay and I do not fault the hotel for rude guests/ unsupervised children.
BW HR, General Manager at Best Western Plus Blaine at the National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased that we exceeded your standards and that you enjoyed your stay! Weekends definitely tend to bring in some higher traffic with kiddos wanting to run around and play! We do apologize when it gets noisy and disrupts our other guests. We also appreciate the understanding that we cannot be the ones to regulate all of the unsupervised children. I do assure you, the ceiling is strong enough to not fall in on you! :) Please come back and visit us soon!
"Family trip"
Great pool area for kids. Fun little arcade room to play in. If you stay during hockey season kids will be playing in the hall! About 30 mins away from mall of America. Area around hotel is quiet. Breakfast had both hot and cold options.
"Mini vacation"
Once a month we do a getaway close by and we found this best western. Very friendly people. Very nice comfortable rooms, bed and pillows. The hot tub was very relaxing. And you can't beat the warm free breakfast.
Michael Savoie, Guest Services / Front Office at Best Western Plus Blaine at the National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you Jon Thank you for your positive review and we hope to see you again soon
"Accommodating"
The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The room with 2 queen beds and a sofa sleeper was perfect for our family of 5. Everyone had a place to sleep comfortably. The breakfast was great!
"Budget Hotel"
You get what you pay for. Do not recommend for the average person. However, if you enjoy smoking weed for all to smell, drip-drying after a swim, sleeping with crummy, not-so-clean linens, stinky rooms, and terrible food, then this place is for you.
Michael Savoie, Guest Services / Front Office at Best Western Plus Blaine at the National Sports Center, responded to this review
Good day ReeBee1492, I am very sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your standards. All of your concerns are valid concerns and we take them very seriously. I am very glad to hear that you reported these issues because we would not have known about them if we were not informed about them. We are working our hardest to correct these issues but it does take time. We will be remodeling of the hotel later this year with a fresh brand new look. I hope that after our renovation is completed you will give us a second chance.
"Terrible place to stay!"
Great place to stay if you are playing out of the Blaine, MN. 8 sheet ice complex! The entire staff was very nice and accommodating. Any request we had was granted including a last minute late check-out request. I would stay here again if visiting the Blaine, MN. 8 sheet ice complex.
"Poorest hotel stay of my life."
If you stay at this hotel this is what you should expect. Expect ants and dirty band aids by the pool. Expect pubic hairs in the showers and bedding. Expect poor front desk service. Expect your things to disappear if you leave them at the hotel, and know the staff could care less. And just know if something does not work in the hotel do not bother letting the front desk know, they don't care. I have worked in this industry long enough to know there is an extreme lack of moral with staff and management. No one cares about their jobs and it shows in the overall cleanliness and service at the hotel. I will never stay here again. And I hope things change.

Dear Guest, Thank you for writing your review regarding your recent stay. We want to take this time to apologize for not exceeding your expectation. We've reviewed this response and can assure you that we are working tirelessly to change your perception regarding our product and service. This is not an excuse, but we were sold out for the past 5 nights and with 6 teams in-house, it was a challenging operation. Now, as you can read our reviews from guests in the past, it'll show that this was just one of those busy week-long events and not the norm here. All of the things that you wrote here tell me that you did not have a good stay and I want to make it right. So please, give us a call at 763 792 0750 and ask for Forogh. Thank you for your business and I look forward to hearing from you.
"Very clean and family friendly"
Very good hotel with great front desk service, clean rooms and bathrooms, and a full breakfast. The pool area was kept clean and updated. COVID meant that we didn't get daily cleaning service, which was fine - but we had to go to the front desk to get refills on toilet paper.
"Easy stay"
I recently spent four nights at this property for an event at the National Sports Center. We had an issue with the thermostat which was immediately fixed. The rooms are quite large and though a little dated, very functional and comfortable. There were no noise issues whatsoever despite being on the first floor. I appreciated the first floor location near a door on the end of the hallway making it easy to go in and out of the building near our parking. I also really appreciated the refrigerator in the room as well as having a full length mirror and an additional mirror with bench outside of the bathroom. Breakfast was better than expected with four warm items (eggs, a potato, a meat, and biscuits). My daughter would have liked some bread options to toast. The milk was wonderful and we put an extra cup each day in the room refrigerator to have before bed. There are plenty of nearby options for dining and shopping. I think I visited the Target every day of our stay. Overall, every staff member we interacted with was super friendly, the hotel was clean, and I would readily choose to stay here again should we have another trip to Blaine!
"Great Breakfast, great pool area, excellent rooms."
Breakfast is excellent. The breakfast lady was excellent. The front desk folks are good at there jobs.Pool and hot tub are great. Rooms are really large and comfy. All Employees very friendly. Keep up the good work.
"Very unaccommodating staff"
We were in town for a wedding. The bridal party was staying the night before the wedding and did not receive the room the bride reserved 6 months prior. She also had many issues booking her block of rooms for the wedding guests. I called the day prior to the wedding to ask about an early check in and was hung up on by the front desk. I had to check in at midnight after the wedding because of this. It should have been the least of our worries that weekend but the staff here made it very stressful. I would not recommend this hotel if looking for big events.

"Good hotel for family and friends"
Enjoyed our week long stay at this property. It was clean and comfortable. Room was located on the corner near an elevator. For as busy as the hotel was, especially on the weekend, there was not a lot of noise and the property was clean. Culver's in the parking lot was a nice plus. Beds were good. Laundry facility was okay - two washers and two dryers. May need a little more with all of the sports teams that are in and out of this hotel. Overall, I was happy with our stay. Great location for events at the sports center.
"Bad day!"
I stay at Best western hotels across the country sometimes over a hundred days a year and I can say I have not had a bad stay up until this weekend and have stayed at this location before so I will just write it off as a bad day nothing in the room worked from the TV to the internet to the bed not being made I spend thousands of dollars at your hotels and when I said something to the employee behind the counter although very FRIENDLY she said there was nothing she could do.

"Best Western for family fun."
Nice place to stay close to many things. This place has 2 pools, a hot tub, and if that's not enough fun it's even got a video game arcade. My kids loved it! They've got a regular sized pool, and a kiddy pool for your little ones that don't quite swim yet but do a fair amount of splashing.
"Covid Christmas Trip"
The hotel was very clean and "covid" compliant. Breakfast bags were provided to all guests. Front desk employees and other employees very helpful and friendly. Blizzard conditions made travel difficult but the employees made every attempt to help with any situations related to the snow.
"Clean rooms and great management!"
Several issues came up during my stay due to all the changes with Covid. I contacted the manager and he resolved them right away. The hotel is centrally located so many restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
I don't know if this hotel is new construction or recently remodeled. Either way, it is a beautiful building with beautiful and comfortable rooms. We received excellent service! The people at the front desk were helpful and quick to respond.
"Wonderful place to stay!"
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding, and we booked the king kitchenette suite for the staging area for the bridal party. It was great! There were plenty of outlets to use, the room was big enough for the whole party, everyone had a place to sit and relax. There was a full size refrigerator, and plenty of room to set up snacks. The room was also very comfortable to sleep, there were plenty of pillows and extra blankets in the room. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and made sure that all the rooms booked for our family were right next to each other!
"Excellent!! Wonderful! Best place to stay!"
This Hotel is very clean, the staff is helpful and friendly. It is a very well managed hotel as evident by Covid Protocol. We switched from another hotel in the area and it is like night and day. The amenities are great, the daily breakfast even in Covid times is very generous and diverse. Couldn't be happier!
"Clean, Convenient, Friendly"
The hotel seemed to be brand new. It was clean, modern and quiet. The standard queen room was huge. There was a loveseat area separate from the beds. There was a refridgerator and microwave, both which were clearn. THe room was clean, the towels were soft. The room was quiet despite that there were many people at the hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

"WONDERFUL place to stay!"
This is a wonderful place to stay. ALL Covid19 protocols being practiced! Excellant customer service and CLEAN!!! We switched to this hotel after a one night stay at a filthy place of the same brand. We could not have been more impressed with this hotel. Even in the midst of Covid19 pandemic, they were cleaning, following protocol, and were so very nice! EVERY associate was wearing a mask and housekeepers were also wearing gloves. The breakfast was "Grab and Go" and gave so much more than the previous hotel. Very satisfying! So happy we changed hotels and we will be back when we come to visit family again!

"Best Combination business, family, and kickback and relax hotel in North Metro hands down."
Excellent from top to bottom ! Best management service and staff around ! Rooms of all sizes , great internet and all the little extras. Pool for kids hot tube with extra late night hours for adults only is a huge plus . Awesome breakfast for entire group or family, with tons of choices. Business center with computers and printer for keeping on top of business and emails. Fitness center is private and clean and arcade for kids has more adults playing games . ( it was fun to do !) The location was minutes from great bars and food !
"Great customer service!!!"
I traveled to this hotel with my daughter who was having surgery The staff were very considerate and helpful to us. They inquired several times if there was anything they could do to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The complementary breakfast was excellent and well prepared. I would stay there again anytime, Thank you Best Western Plus!!!
"95/100"
It was great but the extra blankets were not clean, and there should be more Communication with letting the guests know if they have to move rooms or not so they don't have to Pack all there things up and then find out there staying in the same room.
"Overall excellent"
Service was great, fast check in with fresh cookies, fast internet, wonderful full breakfast hot and fresh made. Relaxing hot tub after a long day and the pool temperature was perfect. Will definitely stay there again.
"Perfect!"
Everything about our stay here was wonderful! Friendly people, comfy bed, clean room, nice shower, the pool area was great! A lot of times this area is lacking in hotels. The breakfast was very yummy!
"A pleasant surprise!"
Can't be negative about a thing....the entire hotel was very clean, staff friendly. Our room was great..mattress and pillows were fine. Breakfast had many options to choose from. Close to the sports areas..but not really in walking distance..

"Great Customer Service & Perfect for Families"
My family and I stayed at this hotel just this past weekend. Our family of six has stayed here numerous times. It is an excellent location for numerous reasons, but what really makes this a great place is the overall customer service and value. I don't normally write longer reviews, but this place deserves it..... There are some great room choices: Two Kings, Two Kings with a sofa bed, etc. If you want extra room during your stay, I feel this is the best place for the money. In addition, the hotel is an easy 25 minute drive to U.S. Bank Stadium. The National Sports Center is within a mile and Invictus Brewing Company is also within a mile. Shopping and restaurants are right next door and you have everything you could need at your fingertips. Rooms are clean as are the facilities. The breakfast buffet alone is a great value with as hearty of a free breakfast as you will find in any hotel. Finally, the customer service was amazing. Zana at the front desk understands that people want friendly and professional customer service. She was welcoming, fun to talk to, and generally interested in making the stay enjoyable. Someone at this facility should really recognize Zana for her great contributions to the success of this hotel. We will be back and this will be our only spot we stay when in the Minneapolis area.

"Visiting Minnesota relatives"
Our check-in was easy and the front desk manager was friendly and upon being informed that I needed a walk-in shower (I'm handicapped), without hesitation, he changed our room to one with a walk-in shower. Our room was clean, the Queen bed very comfortable. There was a problem with a loose "grab bar" in the shower, but we reported the problem to the front desk and the problem was repaired immediately. The hotel offers daily free breakfasts with a wide selection of hot and cold choices from cereal to fruits to scrambled eggs to sausage and bacon. The hot selections were delicious and perfectly done (no "rubber" scrambled eggs) and derlicious and the hostess/cook friendly and helpful. All-in-all, the Best Western PLUS was (is) a great place to stay!

"Mosun Bey"
Situated in an outskirt of Minneapolis. Most shops are nearby, chinese foods etc. There is a gym and pool facilities for you to use. The breakfast was not too good, there is a need for more varieties and focus on health contious.

"Very Clean Rooms and Great Service"
We had a King Suite and it was very spacious for two people. The complimentary hot breakfast was good and changed up a bit every morning. Our room was very clean as was all of the common areas of the property itself. All staff were very friendly and accommodating including the front desk staff, housekeeping, grounds keeping crew, and the ladies who worked in the breakfast area. The property itself is conveniently located right off Central Ave./HWY 65 and near many restaurants as well as a Target. We would definitely stay here again.

"Great Location!"
We just spent 7 nights there and we were impressed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a two queen suite and it was a good size. They also have a nice selection for full breakfast which was included with our rooms and free coffee and tea available in the lobby throughout the day. Would definatley recoommend this hotel.

Zana at the front desk was amazing and allowed my to check into my room early after I had just gotten in off a red eye from LA. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall amazing customer service here and a solid place to stay in Blaine.

"Amazing!"
The hotel has so much to offer including amazing staff from front desk to maintenance, to cleaning people to the on-site mgr. The location is good with many good restaurants within walking distance, some shopping close and more shopping about 5 miles away. We wanted info on a local event & the front desk girl (Nayla?) looked it up and came to find us in the pool so we could attend the event the next day. Extra special customer service! We have stayed here multiple times and will continue to do so.

We had a lovely room. Everything was clean and updated. Everything was in working order. Housekeeping was very accommodating and we needed extra towels. The swimming pool Jacuzzi or very nice clean and operating well. Lobby and Breakfast room were very clean and orderly. Breakfast Attendant was super sweet.

The htoel was perfectly centralized for what we need. It was clean, rooms were spacious, and the associates were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning had a great selection of hot and cold food and you could make your own waffle.
"Great Staff and very helpful and super clean"

"Beautiful hotel"
This hotel is clean & very comfortable. The staff is friendly, even housekeeping was very helpful & wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. I loved the staircase in the front lobby. Breakfast could have had more options for the price. This hotel is a little pricey but we used our points. Restaurants in walking distance. Will stay here again

"Best option in the Blaine/National Sports Center/TPC Golf Course area"
Best option for a stay in the vicinity of the NSC and TPC. Decent location behind Culvers and close to other restaurants as well as shopping. Target wlakable distance as well. Rooms nice as are amenities and the daily breakfast.

"3 rooms"
I have been coming to this Bw for years we really enjoy this one... the pool could be a little bigger and deeper but still enjoyable love the kiddy pool, hot tub open late so less time in the room all together, my kids love the arcade here plus they have a small store. Rooms were nice, they have lots of space we had a 3 room so 2 bedrooms one king one queen a kitchen and livingroom the couch pulls out to be a full size. Bathroom was nice size. Had an extra closest kitchen had some dishes and pans microwave, coffee and smaller fridge We also had a handicap room 2 king beds one in each room lots of space and a pull out couch in that one as well large bathroom wider shower plus bench and bars to grab if needed. Our last room was one king and a huge Jacuzzi tub it also had a pullout enough space and comfort for the romance you may need

"Nice place to stay"
Very clean, friendly, quiet hotel. Very easy to find. We enjoyed the extra sitting space in our room. We had family come visit and they didn't have to sit on our beds. We have plenty of room to move around with a pack n play set up. It was very quiet after 10pm

"Friendly staff. Clean room"
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. While we appreciated that there were washers and dryers available to the guests, we felt that they were too expensive at $3.50 per wash. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
BWNSC, Front Office Manager at Best Western PLUS Blaine at the National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for the 4 star review, glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I apologize if the washers and dryers are a bit expensive. "Walking distance to the National Sports Center and Schwann Super Rink"
We needed something within walking distance of the Schwann Super Rink for a hockey tournament and wound up at this Best Western Plus. The front desk was friendly and helpful. We were initially assigned a handicapped access suite which was a very nice size, 'tho we decided to move to a smaller room with 2 queen beds instead. The service was great, everyone at the hotel was friendly, from the front desk to the breakfast people to the cleaning help. They always asked what they could do to help. Free internet, free breakfast. Best of all, especially as we came in January, was 24 hour hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate. My son had hockey games throughout the weekend at various times and it was nice to be able to grab a hot drink to help stay warm or warm up after.

"Great hotel and great service!"
Stayed here for family wedding in January, 2019. Wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel - very comfortable beds and spacious rooms. My nephews enjoyed the pool and arcade. The gentleman at the front desk (can't remember his name), but he was FANTASTIC. We had complicated check-in and it didn't phase him in the least and he was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!!

"Excellent pool, lobby, breakfast at this Best Western in the perfect location."
This Best Western typically runs $50 more per room than other Best Westerns in surrounding cities because of it's PRIME location next to shopping and restaurants. It has a big lobby with a great breakfast, great staff, and a great big (2 actually) pools. Smaller fitness center but it works. One smaller, slower elevator. Be prepared for lots of athletic teenagers here running the halls because of its proximity to the local sports center that houses tournaments year round.
"Great Place for Families!"
On a business trip, but the hubs and grandkids were able to join me. They loved the arcade and pool area. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming. The rates are reasonable, too. Rooms are clean, breakfast was fresh and there was a good selection. There are many restaurants in the area and a Super Target is also nearby.

"Pretty good leisure hotel"
This hotel was renovated probably about fifteen years ago. It lacks USB outlets on the lamps, but at least it has electric outlets on the lamps. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and it has what a leisure traveler needs. On a weekend, it was full of soccer families attending a tournament. There's a pool area with two pools, one of them very shallow, and children of all ages were enjoying them. There's a Culbert's hamburger shop just across the front parking lot. There are a couple of other places to eat within about two blocks. The front desk and breakfast room employees were friendly.

"Great hotel when you get past the unfriendly Front Desk"
The hotel was beautiful. The room had great amenities and was quiet and comfortable. The continental breakfast had a lot of options, both hot and 'grab and go.' The staff working the breakfast was super friendly and very helpful. I cannot say the same about the front desk staff. We were not welcomed with a smile or even a 'hello.' We were greeted with a bland, "checking in?" The front desk clerk did not tell us our room number, just gave us directions to find the room. He did not tell us about the hotel features, nor the WiFi password. It felt very robotic. Other than the unfriendly front desk staff, we loved our stay at this hotel!

"Bad Experience"
Horrible check-in experience! Front Desk staff not friendly at all! Requested a whirlpool suite 2 months in advance did not get room requested. Requested late checkout did not receive threatened with another day's charge! Staff needs to work on teamwork and communication issues!

Dear Guest, Thank you for reviewing us on TripAdvisor, world's largest travel site. I want to take this time to apologize for not meeting your expectation during your stay. Communication truly is key to success and we have rolled out a new asset management software to ensure all shifts are communicating with one another regarding any status changes with guests. We are also apologetic that you did not receive the whirlpool suite and we will work with the reservation agents to ensure the correct room type is being booked on our end. We offer a 11 am checkout and we were able to grant you a noon check out, but we are very sorry if the tone of the associate came off as threatening when asking if you were extending for an additional night. Our goal in this hotel and many other hotels in the future is to provide the best hospitality in the world and unfortunately, we fell short of that promise. Please accept my apology and reach out to me at 763 792 0750 so that we may have the chance to make it right.
"Noisy but clean"
This hotel has weird parking because it shares parking with Culver's. But that was nice because you can get food quick. I came back mid afternoon to work and had to sit in the lobby because the rooms still weren't made up yet. Both nights and mornings we were woken many times with heavy sounds of walking and voices from the guests in the room above. This is not a hotel to get your rest. I even asked the front desk the first night, if the people who were in our room above us had checked out. She said there wasn't anyone above us that night. Humm... this hotel is noisy. Breakfast was good and the manager of the kitchen was extremely friendly. Hotel was clean. Rooms are large.
"Great Hotel"
Everything was perfect. Room was exceptional. Service was great. Breakfast was superb; special thanks to the ladies in the breakfast room who were so friendly and helpful.Would highly recommend Best Western Plus Hotel in Blaine Minnesota.
"Best for a specific purpose but ok in every instance"
The new Best Western update is in play here. Nice facility. Clean , nice staff There are a ton of kids visiting the nearby sports complex. It is noisy, but amazingly calms down by bedtime ( unless your bedtime is early!). If you are traveling to the sports complex it is perfect! The is a Culver's in the Parking lot! Easy travel to and from If you are not going to the complex, it's fine( I got a great deal) but know who your neighbors will be!

"Great beds, very clean but a bit noisy"
stayed three nights for a wedding in area. Enjoyed the cleanliness, the free wifi, the comfortable beds and pillows. My two criticisms are: not enough housekeeping help (took until dinner time to get room made up) and better training of front desk help, who were not friendly and didn't know how to do some things.

"Comfortable hotel, great location"
Recently stayed two weeks for business. Overall the hotel is very clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and went above to help provide a pleasant stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The first week was better than the first, only due to a couple little issues that overall weren't a big deal. One room had a mini fridge with a little freezer, the second didn't. The second week the exterior door on my end of the hotel was broken. Again, little inconveniences that probably won't affect most. The breakfast selection was very good, something for everyone (both hot and cold foods were good). Close to the sports center, Target, Culver's next door. Would definitely stay again in the future. Don't hesitate to use this hotel.

"Excellent Maid service"
The maid service was excellent thank you Relanda. also I loved the Culver's coupons. The pool was full of dogs, I'm sorry I misspoke I meant children. I often get the two confused because they're both a financial and emotional burden. Dog and kid friendly, i assume other animals.are also allowed, such as the magestic seal.

"Nicest Best Western EVER!"
This is a newer hotel north of the Twin Cities. If you have business in the area, it is a great place to stay. If you have business in Minneapolis, it is a little far from that area. That said, this is one of the nicest Best Western Hotels I have ever stayed in......and I stay in a lot of them! Clean and pretty, with friendly staff. I will be back!

"Bring your least favorite swimsuit"
High chlorine levels in hot tub left swimsuits bleached, eyes burning, and skin that smelled like chlorine even after multiple showers. I was told the levels were safe, but our skin, eyes, and swimsuits indicate otherwise.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your recent survey. I want to take this time to apologize for the issues you were having with our spa and furthermore we want to make sure this never happens in the future. On Saturday April 21st, 2018 our Free Chlorine was precisely monitored at 3.2 ppm. Here's what our Ecolab Representative said after his spa investigation: "The national standard for spas is an ideal range between 3-7 ppm, so even at 8 I wouldn't expect it to be offensive to guest." At this time we do not see any reason to make changes to our chlorine levels, but we do appreciate the feedback as it allow us to continually improve our product and service. If I can be of any help in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out. I hope you will remember us as people who care. Sincerely, Forogh A. General Manager
"This place is not that great!"
First of all the guy at check in was very rude the entire stay and not helpful at all. The check in process was slow seeing they only had one person working the desk. The hotel is pretty clean and rooms are very neat and tidy. Only problems encountered with the king suite I stayed in was that when I went to open the curtain the whole thing fell down and the fridge took almost an entire day to get cold. Also the bed is too firm for my liking and the pillows are way too soft. The pool was heated and nice and so was the hot tub. The arcade room is a joke... Half the games don't work, they run off tokens but you can only get tokens from the machine if you have 1

"Amazing hotel "
I was so impressed by the excellent accommodation provided me at this hotel. The gentlemen at the front desk was so kind and generous with me. After I checked in her called my room to see if everything was ok! I loved that. My room was a gorgeous condo style suite with two great beds, a large desk, mobile flat screen TV and plenty of closet space. It really does feel like an normal, upscale condo room. The great thing about the location of this hotel is it's close to lots of great food places, Target, gas and good coffee. I really got treated so well. I can't say enough good things. Thanks so much!

"Nice 3 day stay at this hotel"
Stayed with my 2 dogs at this hotel and was impressed with how they switched me from the 3 floor to the 1st floor when I asked which made things way easier when I had to take the dogs outside. It was nice and quiet the nights that I stayed also which is always a plus.

"Great Stay"
We really enjoyed our stay here, room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast had lots of options and staff was helpful and friendly. The only negative is that the sidewalks were not cleared of snow and ice, which was a safety hazard. We will stay again, if we are in the area.
Todd C, Front Office Manager at Best Western PLUS Blaine at the National Sports Center, responded to this review
We also feel a clean, quiet room is so important together with a full hot and cold breakfast. It makes us glad that you really enjoyed your stay and that our staff was helpful and friendly. These are important goals of ours and we're so glad we reached them and will strive to keep them all the time. Thank you for letting us know how we weren't on top of the sidewalks during your stay. In fact, this has been addressed with our staff and our sidewalks are now being maintained as a top priority. We look forward to seeing you again!
"Wonderful Stay"
Thank you Jami and Roxi for the wonderful hospitality. You are a great asset to this hotel and are true champions of providing great customer service. All the staff helped to make our stay a memorable one. There is everything at your doorstep from shopping, food and evening entertainment. You are near to some of the Nations top Sporting Complexes and the night I was there were hosting a wedding. It shows that your team is well trained when you are able to handle a variety of events and keep your top notch service to the guests. I will stay whenever in the area again.

This hotel really covered all the bases. Friendly, Professional staff. Very Clean. Great Rooms, plenty of space and functional. Pool area is very kid friendly and large. Great hotel in Blaine with clean comfortable rooms, great staff and breakfast included! Wasn't able to check in early due to hotel being short staffed due to Thanksgiving holiday. Our second stay there this year and we will definitely return.

"Very nice hotel! Spacious option for families with children."
We booked the king suite which had a separate bedroom within the room. It was very nice, very clean, lots of amenities, everything you'd need for traveling with kids! The breakfast was great, the pool area was nice, and the staff were accommodating.

"Family Wedding Stay"
Had a family wedding, this was one of the hotels we could stay at. It is a very nice place, and excellent employee's. Had a problem with the shuttle only taking us back from the reception, complained to the staff about this. They looked into it, and got the shuttle service for both to, and from the reception. We would defiantly stay here again when we are in the area.

"BW"
Excellent services or checking in and out. However, the maid service was poor. We arrived on Friday and the room was not cleaned until Monday. We ask for extra towels which we got, we ask for coffee never received, ask for trash to be removed never happened. The ice machine on the 4th floor did not work. On departure, the manager did adjust the rate of the room because of the problem with maid service.

"Wedding weekend getaway"
We were here in MN for a wedding. After driving 17 1/2 hours, when we arrived late, the person at the front desk greated us as if we were arriving right on time. So sweet and friendly. Got us right in, room was ready and clean. Lots of food places and shopping within walking distends.

"Exceeded expectations"
Past experiences with this brand have put them more of a level with Super 8, Motel 6 and other budget brands. This hotel is at least on par with a Hampton, Courtyard and similar. I was recognized as a member (easy to join when you book), allowed an early checkin, etc. The room was lovely, the breakfast good, and the staff pleasant. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for activities at the National Sports Center. We drove between the two, but it is walkable depending on where in the complex you need to be.

"Good hotel that is geting better"
Both the room and bath were clean and orderly, and everything in the room worked properly. Room was modern and updated. I stay at this property about once a year and they have definitely improved since my last visit. Seems to be more attention to detail in cleanliness of rooms, and the staff is much more friendly and helpful than in the past. Great to see them improve, so will continue to stay a this property.
"Stayed for wedding in town"
great hotel; good location; nice staff; clean; friendly; easy to get too. would stay at again or recommend to others. shuttle offered for wedding in area made things very convenient for eveyone who was there for wedding.
"Nice comfortable hotel however..."
This hotel was great. check in and out was simple and people friendly. My room was immaculate and I am very very picky. The woman working on cleaning rooms on the 4th floor was amazing and the sweetest lady ever! The only complaint I have about the hotel is the kitchen lady. When I read the reviews before I didn't really seem to care about that, but she was downright rude! She made comments under her breath to me and my daughter twice. I really didn't appreciate her grumpy attitude at 7am! This really isn't a deal breaker for staying here again, but someone should really talk to her about how she is treating guests at this hotel! The kitchen and food is there for guest to enjoy and she makes you feel very uncomfortable eating there. I rating the service as average due to my complaint but overall great stay!
"Seniors Evicted"
I booked a room for my parents for the weekend of my son's wedding. When I stopped at the front desk to confirm the reservation I was told it had been cancelled. When I found out that my parents' room had been cancelled, which still hasn't been explained to me, I pulled up their original room confirmation that showed 2 queen beds & included the $20 pet fee. I told them they needed 2 beds because of my father's restless leg syndrome & that they were still bringing their dog. I also asked that they remove the pet fee from my room as I hadn't brought my dog. This was Thursday morning and I was told it would be taken care of & they would call me to let me know. I didn't get a phone call from anyone until my father called me after they checked in to ask why they had a king size bed when their confirmation said they were to have 2 queen beds. They had walked through the lobby with the dog to get to their room. We left the hotel at 5:30 pm to go to the Groom's Dinner leaving the dog at the hotel. My phone rang at 7:07 pm. I didn't answer as I was just getting up to give the dinner toast for my son. No voice message was left, no other phone call received. As I was pulling into the parking lot about 10:00 pm after dinner & cleaning up there was 2 police squads out front & my phone was ringing. My mother was calling to tell me they were being evicted from the hotel because the dog had been barking "the whole time we were gone." When I got to my parents room my 70+ year-old father with heart disease was red-faced & sweating and on the phone trying to find new accommodations. I kept my parents calm & got them to a different hotel on the other side of town from the rest of the family & where the wedding was taking place. I then asked the staff at the front desk to help me understand what happened. They said the dog (which they later claimed no knowledge of even though he was disclosed on the 1st reservation, the confirmation & my conversation AND my parents had walked through the lobby with him) had been barking the entire time (which would have been 4 hours since we left at 5:30 & my parents returned at 9:30) we were gone. They said they tried "multiple times " to reach me but I didn't answer. I stopped them at that point and pointed out that I received ONE phone call from a phone number I didn't recognize just as I was getting ready to give the toast at my son's Groom's Dinner. NO voice mail message was left. NO follow-up attempt was made. When I offered to show him my call log showing I had received one call he had nothing more to say as he realized I was calling out the lie. I pointed out that if a voice mail message had been left we could had immediately resolved the issue because my aunts were staying at the same hotel and could have taken care of the dog right away. One would hope in a service industry & in such a sensitive situation lasting 4 hours they would have tried harder to reach me. The entire situation could have been avoided. Instead they lied to me & involved the police. The other reasons I got for them having to leave were: a. They were not on a pet-friendly floor. Well, who put them there? They didn't ask for that specific room number. In addition, when I was talking to the woman that checked me out on Saturday about the situation to find out why they were booked on the 3rd floor she stated that although it's preferred to put pets on the lower floors the entire hotel is pet-friendly and sometimes they need to put pets on the upper floors. b. The dog was barking after quiet hours. My parents were not provided any information on "quiet hours" when they checked in even as they walked through the lobby. In addition, the city noise ordinance goes into effect at 10:00 pm. The dog was quiet before then. c. Hotel policy is that pets cannot be left alone in the room. There is no mention in the confirmation that pets cannot be left alone. (If you are traveling alone be prepared to eat delivery meals.). Nothing was provided or communicated to my parents on this policy when they arrived. d. They cannot provide a refund because the police became involved. As a service provider I would expect that they would defuse conflict without the police, without kicking elderly guests out of the hotel. Why could they not have relocated my parents to another room? Twice I asked them to apologize. I asked them to reimburse the $500 we spent citing multiple reasons. 1. My parents' original reservation was cancelled without explanation & rescheduled incorrectly even though they had all the correct information to book it properly. 2. The staff may have called once; however, they didn't leave a voice mail message. In addition a member of the staff looked me straight in the eye & lied to me about calling more than once. I offered to show him my call log showing I had received only one call. He did not counter my statement because he knew he was caught in the lie. Had they made any real effort my aunts could have helped and the entire situation could have been avoided all together 3. The hotel didn't abide by the city ordinance. The staff told me the police told my parents to leave. This was also not true. The officer told my father to go up to the room & quiet the dog. It was the staff's decision to kick them out. 4. They turned out 2 seniors, one with a heart condition, at 10:00 at night expecting them to find a Thursday/Friday reservation in the Twin Cities at a pet friendly hotel. 5. The staff provided nothing in writing on the pet policy to my parents when they arrived. 6. I had to pay for their room for the night they were not allowed to stay at the hotel. 7. What was to have been one of the most enjoyable family events was overshadowed by staff unable to properly resolve conflict through a simple voice mail message. What happened was, quite simply, wrong.
General M, General Manager at Best Western Plus Blaine at the National Sports Center, responded to this review
Susan, Thank you for the feedback. I wanted to make sure I had all the details before responding to you on this. To start, when your parents checked in, we were never told there was a pet in the room. Had we known that we could've given you the pet agreement which states pets for one cannot be left alone in the room. We could've also put them on a pet-friendly floor. I did look into the original reservation, and your parents were booked into a single king suite by you and you reserved a double queen suite that was pet-friendly, which you canceled at a later time. The pet-friendly room was never booked for your parents. Our Director of Engineering tried to contact you himself five (5) times. We did document the times when you were called. Being unable to reach you, we tried to talk to the neighboring guests who complained about the pet. One of them decided to call the police himself. When the police arrived, your father had also arrived back at the hotel. The police stated that he was being belligerent towards them and evicted your father themselves. None of this was done by us. The following morning, our assistant manager stated she talked to you herself in a conversation where you apologized for your father's behavior. Finally, we only charged your father for the night he actually did stay here, we canceled his room at no charge. I am not sure why this story has changed from the day you spoke to our assistant manager, but I can reliably say that what you're stating happened is quite simply incorrect.
"Great Stay!"
We had a brief but nice quiet stay after a family wedding. Enjoyed a satisfying breakfast, with many food options, before heading out. Would highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. There are many stores and a few bar/restaurants nearby.
"Nice room."
The front desk staff was great, check on simple and fast. Facilities are kept clean and comfortable. Breakfast, while not fancy was good, plentiful and filling. We did experience some noise, but the front desk dealt with it quickly. The only negatives were the fitness center and the whirlpool. The center was stuffy and not well equipped. The whirlpool jets bubbled but didn't really jet.

"Great to be home BW Blaine"
Dogs aside, this is my home-away-from home. It just is. I always feel welcome here, and I love the location. Its about 15-20 minutes from Columbia Heights, which has a row of restaurant killers like Chimbarazo, Maya, and Karta Thai. Breakfast also has bananas, and the room is always spot-on.

"Worst Hotel I have ever Visited"
I try to be fair in my reviews as it is the only means by which potential guests can evaluate potential hotels for their travel plans. I would start by saying that the hotel, for the most part is clean and well kept. I was forced to stay here as a result of a poison that was installed in floor joists for the new home we built. My oldest son (15) had run-ins with the staff and comments were exchanged. When I found out what happened I apologized to the staff and took steps to ensure that it would not happen again. With that background, the hotel staff was INCREDIBLY rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. The front desk manager, who was by far the most arrogant and disrespectful person I have ever encountered, came to my room (we had two rooms) and informed me that we were being charged for "trashing" the room that the kids stayed in. I asked to view the room prior to check-out and was expecting to see a room that looked like Charlie Sheen had a 3 week party. What I did see was blankets and trach on the floor, which I picked up but everything was in working order and unbroken, TV, Microwave, Lights, Drapes... Having cleaned the room and taken pictures, I went to the front desk to confront the manager about exaggerating the condition of the room. I do not recall the conversation exactly but essentially he told me that he had pictures and was charging for damages. I asked what the damages were and I did not get a response. I understand that my son can be a little hyper and sometimes argues when he thinks he has a complaint but to have a service industry worker take it personally and then decide he has the right and authority to impose charges for trash and blankets on the floor is ridiculous, in my opinion. He spoke to me as if I was a homeless guest that he allowed to stay in his home, rather than a paying customer who apologized and corrected staff concerns. I would avoid this facility at all costs, at least until the staff has been turned over. Please e-mail for ACTUAL pictures of the room when I left.
"Very nice hotel"
This was a very clean, quiet hotel. We stayed with our 35 lb. dog. Staff was very nice about our dog. Beds comfy, breakfast area clean and ample space for visitors. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Great Front desk staff, Kitchen staff AWFUL"
Good experience overall, front desk staff were very pleasant and friendly. The kitchen staff however, extremely rude and unfriendly. Rolled their eyes when we asked for something, and I got snapped at for something I did not even do. Her tone of voice was extremely rude and unprofessional. Would like to stay here again, hopefully kitchen staff is more pleasant next time. Room was nice and clean, pillows ARE AWFUL, lumpy and small. Bring your own if you can.

"Great stay/great location"
Hotel is in a great spot in blaine especially if you have stuff going on at the national sports center. Just a couple minute drive there. Also close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Hotel was clean, as were the rooms. Both Nathan and Doreen who work at the front desk do such a great job. Awesome employees and people. Management do what you have to do to keep those two around, they are awesome.
"Excellent customer service"
Rooms were roomy & fit our family of 5! Front desk was very helpful and helped us find places to go in the community. The location is perfect walking distance to many restaurants and very close to the rink

"Did not turn rooms until 100 geusts were waiting"
We arrived at 2:30 but could not get into our room until after 4. We were with a number of other guests who had the same issue, two wedding parties in fact! The wedding had to be delayed because there were so many people that could not get ready on time. No accomodation was offered. Very dissapointing
"Overwhelmed "
Stayed here on a Saturday with a wedding party. Front desk was very overwhelmed. Check in was at 3. We were told at 230 when we got there that no rooms were ready (over 50 people waiting in the lobby). Very rude and not nice people at front desk. Asked to have my credit card changed. Was told didn't have time for that. My friends room was NOT ready until 7pm. And they would not give them a discount. Not happy at all with this place
"VERY POOR customer service"
This hotel is a security risk. Hotel staff unlocked security latch and dead bolt and entered the room while I was sleeping. I was awoken in my under wear to two hotel employees in the room. VERY POOR customer service from hotel staff and management.
"Impressive staff- very accomodating"
I was so impressed with the staff here. I had booked a room for my parents and my dad uses a wheel chair. This was during graduation season and we discovered upon arrival that they had accidentally booked him for a regular room. With no other options, we got him settled into that room, and the staff assured me they would move them to a handicap room first thing in the morning. Ted the maintenance gent also helped me haul in and assemble a recliner for my father. As promised them completely moved my parents to a handicap room, recliner included while we were away at the graduation. They went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable. Much appreciated. Nice breakfast, nice pool area. Hotel is very clean and rooms are quite spacious!

"Nice place to stay."
We had a good stay. The biggest draw back was the lawn care service and their weed spraying. We had our dog with and the place claimed to be pet friendly. Not really when you can't use the grounds because of the dangerous chemicals. One other thing, the breakfast sausage was raw.

"Ok experience"
Hotel bed was very dirty, stains on the bed skirt upon arrival, had to have them change it. The hotel breakfast was a average hotel breakfast. The fitness center was honestly the worst hotel fitness center i ever been in. No bench, cable on weight machine needs to be fixed and serviced on. Other then that, there was only a treadmill and a bike elliptical machine.
"Home away from home"

"Beds"
The bed was like sleeping on the floor which in this case would have been more comfortable and the A/C did not work on auto so we were either too cold or too hot. The service of the hotel staff was good and the overall cleanliness of the room was very good. this hotel was close to the wedding and reception and they also offered a shuttle for those staying to and from the wedding which was very nice as well.

"Would stay again"
This hotel was quite nice. It was very clean and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. My only concern is that it has potential to be loud. Thankfully most of the guests were attending the Joyful Noise Christian Festival so it was pretty quiet. Had it been a wedding, I may have had a hard time sleeping.

"Overall good"
Overall this is a very good hotel. They had an excellent breakfast and excellent staff. The beds weren't very comfortable but we only stayed one night thankfully. If we needed to stay in the area again we would choose the same hotel

"Very Clean, Perfect for NSC Events"
The location is less than half a mile from the National Sports Center and is very clean. Beds are comfortable and wi-fi is good. It's right next to a Culvers. If you're coming for a soccer tournament book far in advance.

"amazing"
Well, my trip here was on May of last year 2016. I was here with some groups on a two-day religious event. We had group discounts but I was charged the full price per night. I could not settle it with the guy at the front desk. However, aftet the event was over, I flew back to my destination, I emailed the manager about the issue. The discounted rate was $95 and full price was $120. Fortunately, I had the email receipt which confirmed my discounted rate. So, the manager Dennis agreed to adjust the charges and refunded me the difference. Dennis was very understanding even when the other guys at front desk said no to my request. For example, the other guy at front desk said no to my refund but Dennis said yes. The other guy at front said no to my groups all day shuttle ride request to the National Sports Center which was across less than a mile away but Dennis said yes. Since I had no car, this shuttle rides saved me lots of taxi money which I could have some 4 times a day. The General manager made this trip amazingly great. Also, rooms were very clean with microwave. I don't remember the breakfast dogs but I ate it and it was good.

"Nice place !"
Room was clean & comfy, and breakfast items abundant. The staff really went out of their way to accommodate me on a few items. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. See you soon BW Blaine. This hotel is in the Northern part of Minneapolis about 30 minutes from city center.

"Whoa to my car"
Ode to my truck. how thee was scratched i will not know for cameras will not tell me so. Although i was parked out side thine door your scratch free paint job is never more. I enjoyed the pool and the king size bed but the damage to my car stays stuck in my head. The police were left puzzled and without a clue. The culprit who had stayed with Best Western too. the narrow parking spaces left me confounded as my truck alarm had never sounded. i wish there was more that i could do but alas it seems i get to deal with the poo.

"Surprisingly Good"
My husband claims I've turned into a hotel snob, which I guess traveling at least once a week and living out of a suitcase will do to you. Thus is the first time I've stayed at a BW Plus and, for the most part, I was pleasantly surprised. 2 complaints, 1) shower drain was extremely slow and 2) employees were very loud. My from was right at the top of the stairs of the lobby and as I was getting ready in the morning I could hear the employees talking to each other from what seemed to be across the room. They really seemed to enjoy each other as there was a lot of laughing and talking back and forth, but it seemed very unprofessional in my opinion. Maybe they don't realize how thin the walls and doors seem to be. Overall, I would stay again but request a room further away from the front desk.

Best Western was a great addition to our Families wedding guests! Very accommodating, friendly knowledgeable staff. "Clean, nice rooms."
A quick get away and we were told the rooms were clean. And they really were. The place was very neat. The room was nice. And very quiet. We heard nothing from other rooms and only a bit from the hallway. There are restaurants and shopping close enough to walk if needed also.

"Bad customer service"
We stayed here for a hockey tournament ad and the rooms were super but well there wedding ring got stolen out of my room. Went to front desk to talk to a manager and Zack would not help me and told us to leave the property. The only people in our room was my family and the maid . Asked to see the video tapes from the cameras and surprise they could not pull it up. Week and a half later the maid turned the ring in. The manager never would talk to us.

"Solid hotel"
Great location, some junk food within walking distance (very useful when out with kids) as is a Target and the National Sports Center. Pool is decent but not large, big plus is a wadding pool for little ones along with a whirlpool for the adults. My daughter (11 years old) loved the games room.

"Best Western Plus Blaine National Sports Centre fits the bill"
This was the recommended host hotel for our daughter's gymnastics competition. For the price , this hotel had everything we needed.: clean rooms, a complimentary breakfast and very close proximity to the National Sports Centre. The pool was small and was therefore overcrowded. A bit more seating around the pool for parents might be nice. Overall a great stay.

"Great quality and accommodations"
This hotel was ideal for a group of students to stay during a recent competition event. Convenient location, great amenities. Pools and hot tub were right temperature, clean, and fitness room was not large but sufficient. Mattresses were very comfortable, rooms had fold out couches as well as beds. No problems with in-room wi-fi.

"Great Hotel"
We stayed at the Best Western for a wedding in the area. They provided a shuttle for the guest that was quite nice. Hotel room was clean and well maintained. The beds were a bit hard for my liking but that's personal preference. We stayed in a king room on the 4th floor. The room was spacious and well appointed. I was unable to find a safe in the room, but it may have been hiding to well or not available. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The complementary breakfast was typical of a hotel breakfast, but good. I would stay here again.

"Wonderful Stay for Blaine Schwan Events"
Great hotel with large suite rooms that is located right next to the Schwan Center. Location is excellent and the staff is amazing. Great breakfast as well. Internet was fast and reliable. Rooms have an extra sitting area with a full sized pull out couch. Hotel location has restaurants and shopping all within walking distance. Very nice to be out of town and not driving around looking for things since everything is right there.
"Great Place to Stay for Tournaments at National Sports Center"
Rooms were clean and modern. Staff was great. Pool and games room for the kids during down time. The included breakfast was great. There are plenty of dining options near by and the sports center is less than 5 minute drive from hotel.
"Above and Beyond"
Our stay at the Best Western - Blaine- MN was superb. All staff members were helpful, kind, personable and accommodating. The young lady at the from desk - went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. The room was clean- the breakfast was good - and the facility was nicely decorated. I would recommend this hotel - not only for cleanliness and value - but also the customer service provided.

"Hiccups"
I've been to this hotel a few times but can't figure out for the life of me why they can't get things right! I was there on a weekend when there were lots of weddings so I understand being busy but my room was freezing and I got no response at all. The toilet kept having issues, no maintenance. Towel bar was broken, no one fixed it. They had a difficult time keeping up with towels at the pool. It seems to me they need additional staff on the busy weekends. One person can't do it all and do it well.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for providing us a review. I would be grateful if you could reach out to me as a repeat guest I should be able to find out some information so that we could help you. I have looked through our log notes and also cannot find anything nor could my maintenance manager. I am also easily accessible as I have my business cards at the front desk complete with my own personal number. It would be great to have the opportunity to look into the items you are mentioning as the only way to get better is to have some valid information to work with. You may reach out to me directly by email gm@bestwesternplus-blaine.com or direct on 763-235-1898. We don't claim to be a perfect hotel, but it does that as a repeat guest we don't get it right for you, but we do get it right for the majority of our other guests whether one night or repeat. Our service promise is if something is not meeting your expectations during your stay, please let us know. We hope to have the opportunity to make things right. This sign is posted prominently at the front desk because I do care and provided the opportunity I am able to make the changes to make your stay better. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Kids Birthday Party"
I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, room 229. The second bedroom was very cold. There was no heat coming in , other then a after market 6 inch duct through the wall coming off the main heater in the room. I could feel cold air coming through the window. Comforter was very thin. Wi Fi was not very strong, no Wi Fi at all in the pool area.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for taking some time to provide our hotel some valuable information. It is always our hope that if the guests are having some issues that they let the front desk know as very often there can be a quick fix for things that may be deterring your experience. We checked the vent and it had been blocked by the TV so it was not allowing a full flow of the air into the room. We are having our maintenance department look into the relocation of the vent so that better airflow can come into the room. The heating unit was checked and it was working to capacity. Our maintenance manager went to the room when we read your review and the window was found to be not secured all the way which will allow the outside air into the room. Our bedding is the industry standard duvet which is rated a 10.5 Tog and also includes a fleece blanket. There were extra fleece blankets in case these were not enough for you located in the closets. The internet access point in the Pool Area was rated at 130mbs when we received your review. The only thing we can determine on this was maybe your device was still holding the signal from your room which we then suggest to forget/reset the connection on your device and then reconnect. We may have been able to improve your stay if we called to see if how your stay was going as then we may have been able to assist you with opening the dialog that we are there to help you should you have any issues. Our team is always eager to assist our customers and I know that most hotels would offer assistance if asked to some of the minor problems that can occur. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Beautiful rooms. Great price."

"Nice stay and very affordable"
Had a nice stay in Blaine, MN. I played a round of golf at TPC Twin Cities. The hotel is very near the golf course. Best Western upgraded my stay at no additional cost. The hotel was very nice, clean, and spacious. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I recommend staying at this hotel.
"Wedding"
My favored nephew got marred. Was the best time, I ever had on vacation. I really enjoyed myself. I am so glad ,I could be apart of it. We enjoyed the mall. The worlds biggest mall. It was great. Everything went great, really love seeing every one, all in one place again. We must do it again.
"Military friendly, very welcoming and helpful staff!"
My family and I were moving to the area due to a military move. We ended up staying in the hotel for 2 weeks while we found a new house. The hotel crew was nice and always took time to say hello and talk to my wife and kids to make the stay more enjoyable, almost like staying with family. The morning breakfasts were better than most hotels I've ever stayed in. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!
"Great Stay in Minnesota"
Our stay at Best Western was awesome! Right from checking in to end of our stay, it was a pleasure dealing with front desk and all other staff. Our room was new and so clean and cozy...made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable! We wouldn't stay anywhere else if coming back for a visit.
"Great stay...would have enjoyed staying longer!"
Great hotel, great breakfast, homey, clean rooms, and wonderful staff! We would highly recommend! The bed was very comfortable and we liked having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The wifi worked great and enjoyed having the closet!

"Wonderful and accommodating!!"
I traveled here with my family and was incredibly pleased with my stay. I have 3 children and they absolutely loved the arcade room as well as the pools!!!! Everywhere in this hotel was clean and updated. The rooms were just amazing and my whole family couldn't have been happier with our stay. My husband enjoyed the fitness center and they had a HUGE breakfast that had more selections than most hotels offer. Location was very handy and the staff is friendly and helpful. Will recommend this hotel to friends and family for sure.

Our team and myself appreciate all the wonderful comments about your stay. You are a positive ambassador in promoting the services our hotel offers. Our hope is that all of our guests have a wonderful stay and that something is taken away as part of a lasting memory. An area that we have been working on recently is our fitness room and in the next couple of weeks all of our equipment is being upgraded to the latest models available. Should you return your husband will be able to enjoy his fitness routine even further. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Great room and service"
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Check in was quick and easy. There is parking all around the hotel but vehicles with trailers or large vehicles (e.g. moving vans) might have trouble finding space if the hotel is full. It was at 1/3 capacity when I checked in so plenty of parking space was available. Best Western has a great rewards program if you have their credit card as well and they will match elite status with other hotel chains.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Our team and myself would like to thank you for having the opportunity to have you as our guest. We hope that our team and myself are able to represent the city of Blaine in a positive way and that our guests encounter a trouble free stay. You are a great ambassador for Best Western Hotels and it is great to know that you are very pleased with the Best Western Rewards Program. We have a great working relationship with our area businesses and very often large trucks and equipment use the lot just to our North to have ample room to park their equipment without blocking additional spaces for our guests. The front desk is able to direct any guests that are in this situation so that you may park worry free. If you are in our area again in the future we hope that our hotel will be highly considered. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Wedding "
I used this hotel for myself and wedding guests. It was a nice hotel with plenty of options for breakfast. The bridal suite is very nice and we received complementary Champaign from the hotel for our wedding. My guests and I took advantage of the shuttle service. The general manager was very nice. Only hiccup in the road was the hotel had gone through at least 3 people who were in charge of group blocks so every time I would need to make a change nothing ever got changed or completed. Thankfully the last person who I had talked to took care of the issues that the others didn't. A few of the front desk staff members came across as annoyed when I talked with them mainly the ladies, I don't not have names because that was the least of my worries on my wedding day.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
On behalf of the team and myself we would like to thank you for having the opportunity to have your wedding guests stay with us. It was unfortunate that our team had changed since our original booking. There are many challenges in that particular roll and it is my hope that that person is able to rise to those challenges. As the General Manager it is my full responsibility to ensure that everything goes smooth on your day. I do very often get involved with the weddings as I am able to ensure that everything is in order for your arrival. Your feedback is valuable and I will be sure to take your remarks and implement them to become better in the future. My goal as the hotel manager is that our team is known as "People Who Care". Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Great Hotel/Awful Coffee"
The hotel was wonderful. It was clean and the beds were great. The coffee offered at breakfast was instant coffee. It was undrinkable. We had to get in the car to find coffee. My advice: Ditch the coffee dispenser and brew your coffee.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for letting us know about your view on the coffee. We are very pleased to say that this coffee is not an instant coffee as mentioned. We get many great reviews in particular about the coffee and I appreciate that we cannot be comparable to the many specialty coffee shops springing up everywhere. The brand we use is a very popular European brand and is also served at some of these specialty shops. This brand has received so much positive exposure in the United States that one of the top coffee makers has purchased this line of coffee recently to market as part of their own brand. It would have been great to have the opportunity to be able to assist you during your stay to allow me to have a better understanding. Had their been a malfunction in the machine or temporarily out of order. There are times that the breakfast area can become very busy and something may have been missed. The staff are very accommodating to ensure things are corrected if brought to their attention. We are pleased that the rest of your stay has been enjoyable. The team works very hard to ensure that our guests are well looked after. My goal as the hotel manager is that our team is known as "People Who Care". Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Recent stay at Blaine Best Western"
Overall a very nice stay at the Best Western at Blaine, MN. The staff was excellent--very friendly and helpful. We were there to attend a wedding, and everyone there for the event was impressed by how accommodating everyone was. We even had use of a private room for breakfast! We would definitely stay there again.

I thought this was a very good suggestion and it is something that I will look forward to having again with future wedding parties. There are many great hotels and wedding venues in our area and we appreciate that you gave us the opportunity to play a part in the special day. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Not up to par"
It's a good hotel in a convenient location. The staff is friendly and anxious to please. Unfortunately they had plenty of opportunities to try. I won't cover the details since I provided the hotel manager with a complete listing but there were a number of items which required fixing. And we are talking about non-traditional things going wrong. Hopefully our visit was an anomaly and your stay will go smoother.

Hotel was very nice. Decorated nice. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast was displayed well and always full. I would highly recommend this hotel. "Unbelievably Fantastic Experience! Terrific Employees Genni, John, Matthew !"
It started with Genni helping Me with my reservation, She was AWESOME! She was the most helpful, very friendly, who had a great attitude and terrific personality! I cant say enough about her and My experience that would do her justice. I will always be a customer because of her and hope others get to experience the complete customer satisfaction that I received. Thank You! Also adding to My terrific stay were John and Matthew who are number 1 professionals at there job and treated Me like royalty. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I cannot say enough about these 3 employees and wish everyone has the Fantastic experience that I had during My stay at the hotel; I'm positive that they will. Thank You Again, Genni, John, Matthew, You're The BEST! I highly recommend staying here, Matter of fact, I had a opportunity to stay at 5 star hotel in Boston and decided to stay at a Best Western Plus solely because of these 3 employees and my experience at there hotel. To Me, they are a 6 Star Hotel ! Thank You, I will see You all soon!
"Vacationing sick"
Stopped in Blaine on our way through to North Dakota. Our hotel room was very nice as well as the staff. I got sick just as we got there and they were able to accomodate us for another day last minute.
"Ok for short stays"
Worked for purposes. Tight quarters. Good pool area. Not a lot of restaurants close by and so no walking to eat. Very small parking lot and the overflow goes into the business lot next door. Not sure what they do during the weekday.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to help us with a review of your stay. I was disappointed to hear that you were not able to locate any restaurants in our area as there are quite a few within a few minutes walk with Culvers next door, Bricks, Clives, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, The Tavern, all within a 5 minute walk. Even by going another few minutes there are many more on offer. The front desk staff should have been able to let you know about any of these options. Our parking lot has 98 parking bays which is one bay for each room in the hotel and a matching number of handicap parking bays to the front of the hotel. There are exits to access these parking areas to the North, East and South sides, but unfortunately on the west end where the pool sits these parking areas are not as convenient as the others. We do have a great relationship with our Culver's next door that does allow those that may be on the west end enjoy the convenience of easier access. Even at full capacity and larger wedding events we do not seem to experience being short of parking. Our hotel also enjoys the benefit of being an all suite hotel, which allows us to put a sofa's, chairs and coffee tables in each room. This allows you much more flexibility over your standard rooms of our local competition, which does not not include these valuable perks at a similar price. For those that do want an apartment style room we also have two bedroom suites with an equipped kitchen area and living section to allow for extended stays. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager.
"Fantastic!"
Newly remodeled. Loved the two queen bed rooms had a pull out couch. Was not expecting this surprise. Breakfast was 5-star. This hotel did not leave me wanting more. It was perfect! Fitness center is lacking, but overall it great and I will stay here always!

We appreciate your wonderful comments and for considering us during your stay in Blaine. It was great to hear that you thought very highly of our breakfast. It has been an area that we have been working on for some time now and each week I see improvements. One of those is that we are working with the local bakery to be able to offer fresh baked goods. I am also currently looking into making into improvements with the Fitness area as like you I agree that it could improve the experience for our guests. It is my goal as the general manager of the hotel that we are known as "Having People Who Care". Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"wonderful"
We checked into another hotel on Sunday evening because it was reserved for us through a national sports site and it was horrible (dirty, bug infested with terrible beds) . Went over to the Best Western Monday morning and they helped us out. It was clean and bright with wonderful beds and great service,

"Nice Hotel... Great Staff!"
I was absolutely surprised at how nice the room was, the comfort of the bed and how kind and accommodating the staff were. We stayed over the fourth of July weekend and they even allowed us to use a free room voucher with no questions asked they even upgraded my room to the king and queen suite! Thank you for the great stay we will definitely be returning.

"Fabulous Hotel and Great Value for the Rate"
This hotel is fabulous for families and groups on sporting events. We stayed here for a week as part of a sports group and liked it so much we stayed on for a couple days after while visiting in the area. We stayed at several hotels in the area during our visit to Minnesota and could not find one anywhere near this one in terms of staff hospitality and value for money. Rooms are great for families and they have a sofa bed. We felt safe at this hotel and the breakfast staff are so nice! They even put out an extra waffle maker and all day all night cereal and milk for all the kids on soccer teams that were visiting which was greatly appreciated. Restaurant is right next door to Culvers a good quality fast food place that the kids and parents loved and that is open late. Staff and the General Manager go out of their way to help you with any concerns you might have and are so patient with all the kids running around during a huge group stay for the USA Cup. Target right next door. Highly recommend!!

"Great location and amenities"
Stayed here for the USA Cup soccer tournament. It was walking distance which is a huge plus. Clean and friendly. I would definitely stay here again for this tournament. It was also very close to many good restaurants.

"Great place to stay"
Great place to stay!! outstanding help with check in!, great pool area! great area! for shopping, food entertainment sports area!. the Breakfast area has a good assortment of food, waffle iron ( I do miss the pancakes ) fresh fruit is fresh!
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
It has been a pleasure having you as one of our valued guests and that there are all the facilities in our area that you are in search of. We are working every day to be able to be an important part of our guests stay because we know there are many great hotels in our area. We unfortunately did make the decision to no longer carry the pancake machine. It is very labor intensive and found that on busy weekends broke down and then slowed down the service to the point that we were not able to keep on top of other things. It has been wonderful to see that the waffle irons have been now equipped with the Best Western Logo. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Very nice stay"
We stayed here for our daughter's soccer tourney, the U.S.A Cup. The hotel was very clean, staff very friendly, and front desk staff very helpful. The hotel is with in walking distance to the soccer fields which was nice. There is a Super Target across the street as well. The breakfast was good too! Would stay here again!

"Best Western Plus at Blaine MN"
Very clean and appealing hotel, LARGE room (2 queens with a sofa area) - the hotel and room decor were well done. The breakfast selections were adequate. The hotel grounds were very well kept. I would definitely recommend this hotel - it was pricier than a regular Best Western.
"Great visit of Twin Cities"
Everything was great at this BW - allowed us to visit with all of our former neighbors and friends we know here. We even checked out Menards, Fleet Farm, Byerleys, Cub Foods, downtown Minneapolis, Wife loved it - was able to visit former work friends.

"Nice Place"
Hotel was super busy and we had to wait to check in but staff was friendly and helpful. Room was nice, clean, quiet. Nice breakfast selection but they were out of milk. Good location, close to Gander Mountain, Target and a Culver's right next door.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the opportunity to let us know about your stay. It is very important for our team and myself to be aware of your experience so we are able to offer a high level of service to our guests. We did have a shortage of milk, due to the main food supplier having a one day strike and the special delivery had not arrived before our end of breakfast service. To my knowledge though we were not out of milk as there was still the skim milk available and the 2% had run out shortly before the end of service. I had been in the kitchen that morning and would have gone to the nearby superstore to bring enough milk to last through the days breakfast. It is always my goal to try and ensure things run as smooth as possible even if there are events that happen that are out of the hotels control. We appreciate you choosing our hotel as we know there are many great hotels in the area. It is my goal as general manager that our hotel is known for having "People Who Care". "Weekend Wedding "
We stayed because our son was in a wedding in Ham Lake. The hotel was clean and comfortable. When we checked in the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that the shampoo dispenser was broken. Housekeeping came to fix it 3 times but didn't have the right tools and/or parts. It was never fixed in 3 days with 3 different interruptions while we were trying to get ready for the wedding. They also didn't refill coffee so we had to get it from the lobby. Small inconveniences that wouldn't keep us from visiting again.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to let me know about your stay. It is through your reviews that I will be able to make the adjustments so that other guests do not experience the same issue. It was a disappointment to hear about the dispenser. It is an easy fix and we have the parts readily available should anything be required. With the shift in becoming Eco friendly this is an important part of our program. With our hotel alone we are able to reduce the amount of bottles and partially used amenities by 70,000 bottles. When you consider there are 285 Best Western Hotels just in our district that is a vast amount of waste. We have also retrained in spotting the amenities that need to be changed. Our service promise is if something is not meeting your expectation, please let us know. We want to make it right. It is my goal as the general manager that our hotel is known for having "People Who Care". Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager

"Great Stay"
I was very impressed by this Best Western. The hotel had been renovated a couple of years ago and they did a very good job. The decor was modern, beds were comfortable. The bathroom was private and quite large with a large vanity area. The air conditioner was quiet and did not wake me during the night going on and off. The breakfast was very good with the same choices everyday for the hot items, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in this area.

Your stay is very important to our hotel and it was a pleasure that you chose our hotel when there are many great hotel in the area to choose from. We did undergo a total renovation that finished in June last year and are presently going through some additional changes that Best Western is doing to re brand the product. They are some very exciting changes and coincides with celebrating their 70th year anniversary. Our service promise is if something is not meeting your expectation, please let us know. We want to make it right for you. Our team and myself hope to see you again if you are ever in the area. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Great value"
My employer's travel agent booked this hotel for me. it's a gem, great value for the price. Attentive, friendly staff, clean room, hot breakfast. I'm sold on BW Plus, and will be staying at this hotel on my next trip to the area.
"Breach of Contract-they cancel rooms after payment received!"
booked room at the Best Western Plus Blaine on May 15, 2016 for June 2 and June 3, 2016, PAID with points. points were taken out of our account immediately when we made the reservation. I have copy of points that were withdrawn) Therefore we had a contract. (Reservation/Payment confirmed) 10 Days after paying/reserving room, On May 25, 2016, at 4:25 pm, we were contacted by the hotel staff canceling our room. When the reservation was cancelled that was a Breach of Contract by the Hotel. The hotel tried to find us another hotel, but only other Best Westerns would have been 45 min to an hour from our destination each day, that was too far. We had to pay more for the hotel we had to book to be within the same distance as the Best Western was (20-25 Min) than we did at the Best Western. We were out of pocket an addition $288.00 approximately than we would have been if we could have kept our room at the best western. They told us we could stay the first nite of our reservation which was Thursday, but not Friday nite--they had a flood and someone else had the room that nite. Now, I do not understand if we had the room how someone else could have it also? We made and PAID for these reservations 10 days before we were contacted and our room cancelled by the Hotel, not by us. We were scrambling trying to find another hotel for those dates that took pets and that was also a comparable distance (not further) I contacted hotel and owner directly by phone, email and US mail and have not heard from them. It has been over 22 days with no response. This was not a vacation trip, it was a specific destination and we had to travel/stay on those dates. We are out of pocket $288, MORE than we were with Best Western. Be wary that they don't cancel your room and leave you in a bind.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to let me know about your experience of trying to stay at our location. It is always our goal to do our best to honor each and every reservation that is taken. Unfortunately, sometimes there are things that happen that are completely out of our control and which may necessitate not being able to accommodate you in our hotel. In this particular case we had water damage to a number of rooms, one of which was a pet room that you required. I am sure you can appreciate that not every room can be allowed for pets due to other guests medical conditions. We started notifying guests as soon as we found out that that the rooms would not be back in service for your stay. Yes a room might be available one day and not the next, because guests book for different days and a room that is available one day may not be available the next. Changing a guests plans is never our goal, but if someone has confirmed a reservation last September and yours this May then the most current is going to be altered. Our staff worked very hard in securing you alternate accommodation and offered you three that you would still be able to use your Best Western Reward Points for a free stay. The Final accommodations that we found for you only added 15 minutes to your final destination, allowed your pet and would have been able to accept your Best Western Rewards Points for a free stay. Best Western Rewards Points are not redeemed until after you have stayed. We do not have any information of your points to be used until you actually arrive and then they can only be redeemed. These could have been used at the three other Best Western Hotels we offered. There are two types of reservations for guests. A Prepaid Reservation where you give the hotel a payment in exchange for the hotel's promise to have a room for you no matter what time you check in. The money is taken up front. The second is a confirmed reservation and you do not pay for the reservation in advance, and therefore you do not have a guaranteed reservation. Rather, you merely receive a confirmation of your reservation, either by email, fax, or mail. On a confirmed reservation the hotel must do its best to honor your reservation, which is what you have, then our responsibility is to due our best to only find comparable accommodations. I am very sorry to hear that you felt that our team and myself did not go out of our way to assist you. The last thing I would have wanted to do is cause you upset about your stay to the area. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Breach of Contract-"
We made reservations and they took our points for payment. Ten days after making the reservation they called and cancelled it. They told us we could stay the 1st day, but not the 2nd day. They said there was a flood. They did try to find us another hotel, but the others would have been approximately 46 min to an hour away from where we had to be in the Friday evening 5:00 traffic. To get a hotel in a comparable distance it costs us appx 288.00 more than it would have at the Best Western. We were not very happy since this was the first time we had been able to pay with points and this was how we were treated. I asked did they cancel our reservation just because we used points. The manager said no, he had reservations that had been made before ours (again--we made ours 10 days before they cancelled) And why could we stay the 1st day of our reservation (a Thursday) and could stay on Monday--but not Sat/Sunday...
"Very Clean Hotel"
Very clean and very quiet! Nice amenities! Good breakfast. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the hotel. Located in a very nice neighborhood and easy to find. Located very close to many sports activities.

This hotel was the best stay I've had in a long time. It was clean and comfortable. I actually wanted to go back to the hotel take a shower and lay down after work. A lot of hotels out there don't make me feel that way. And I travel almost weekly.

"Great location & staff"
We recently spent 2 nights at the hotel. Very convenient (walking distance) to the National Sports Center. The rooms and the public areas were exceptionally clean, and decor is both modern & appealing. We had a 3 month old with us & the staff was extremely accommodating of the need to have breast milk frozen & offered to put it in their freezer. They were very happy to provide us with the little extras we needed. Breakfast was included, with a good variety of options including fruit, cereals, eggs, bacon, waffles & pastries. As well hot beverages were available throughout the day & there is a well stocked snack bar (not free) both in the main lobby. Definitely family friendly, and there are nearby dining and shopping options in the immediate area.

"Great Location, Beautiful Room, Noisy Floor"
Despite the beautiful lobby, comfortable/lovely room, and welcoming staff, I could hear conversations and knocking of doors in our hallway from midnight through 5 am keeping me awake. The hallways, elevator, and stairways were littered with beer bottles and cans on our way to breakfast and checkout Sunday morning (8:30 am). I am not likely to stay at this hotel again unless I first ask the desk staff if there is a likelihood of similar activities happening in the evening.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Our team and myself would like to thank you for your feedback about your stay with us. We take things very seriously and the only way we are able to determine what has gone right or wrong with a stay is through your reviews. It is always our goal that we make our guests happy about their stays, but unfortunately we can sometimes not predict how our guests themselves will behave during their stays. I can assure you that we work very hard to be diligent when behavior starts to affect our other guests stay. It was very unfortunate that we have had a group from our very good Canadian neighbors that not only spoiled the stay by our guests, but also had ruined the stay for many of their own group. It has jeopardized the entire group from being invited to sporting events in our great city and affected my own hotels reputation. It is always a last resort to involve the police in situations like this, but in this case both you and myself would have had fewer headaches to contend with. Our housekeeping and front desk staff also has had many challenges as no matter how hard you try we do work to try and keep areas clear of debris. I am pleased that we found a quiet area for you to do your meditation. It was about the only positive I could take away from your visit to our hotel. Our service promise is if something is not meeting your expectation please let us know. We want to make it right. It is my goal that we are known as "People Who Care". You are also a guest who cares and has cared enough to let me know, but unfortunately those guests that do not care can spoil it for both sides, leading to us to possibly lose great customers like yourself. We do hope if you are ever in the area again in the future you will consider our hotel as we would love to have the opportunity to show you we are a great hotel. Was in the area for business. This place is unbelievable for the cost. Clean and upgraded. The rooms have nice upgrades and look like a 5 star place. I can't believe it is only $90 a night. The breakfast is very good for such a low cost.

"Great Hotel, Great Location, Great service!"
We brought our soccer team of 15 year old boys to a tournament at the National Sports Center, and we were so lucky to get into this hotel right at the doorstep of the soccer fields! Its one thing to find a convenient, handy place to stay, but what a bonus when the place is such a great hotel as well! Everyone on our team was commenting on what a nice place it was~roomy, comfy, clean, friendly, affordable and well, convenient!

"What a pleasant treat!!"
I was passing through Blaine, MN on Day 3 of a six-day trek across the country. I had always wanted to visit the Aveda headquarters so I checked to see what hotels were nearby to spend the night in. Apparently I chose the nicest Best Western I've ever seen! Jessi was very friendly and welcoming. She set me up in a beautiful huge corner King room, complete with a jetted tub! What a treat after 3 long, cold, windy and rainy days on the road. I can't even tell you the last time I had a hot bath. Definitely worth it right there! The hotel is quite trendy and the suite itself is extremely clean and quiet. I have never been so impressed with a room before! Looking forward to spending a day relaxing in luxury. So pleased to have discovered this gem! Would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Amazing Staff"
This hotel was very clean and the staff goes out of their way to assist you. The hotel rooms were clean and everything was like new. I loved the pools and not a lot of hotels have baby pools so this was a plus. Wonderful service! Also, this hotel is around a lot of things to do such as shopping and restaurants.
"Wonderful staff, CLEAN with a great location!"
Our hockey team participated in the Stick It To Cancer Hockey Tournament the weekend of April 15-17, 2016 and we all stayed at this hotel. It was so nice! Completely updated, clean and the staff was very helpful. The hotel's location is close to several places you may need, whether it's places to eat and a Target less than a mile away. My boyfriend and I had our little dog along so it was very nice that this was a pet-friendly hotel. One of their front desk staff, Jessi, was very helpful and knowledgable when answering my questions and even offered to look up a dog park for us. And for those of you who travel with your pets, I saw that the hotel offered plastic poop baggies for their guests on each side of the hotel so you can pick up after your pet. Very helpful since I forgot to bring our plastic poop bags. We stayed in room 209 which had a king-sized bed and a pull out sofa which was spacious and clean. No issues at all. The only problem we did encounter (NOT the hotel's fault) was the people who were staying above us. They were loud, lots of stomping and running; it was disruptive enough that I had to call the front desk around 11:30 pm Friday night to report it. The gentleman that answered at the front desk went up to investigate it and within 5 minutes, the noise stopped. Unfortunately, the noise went on all weekend but we weren't in our room that much from Saturday to Sunday. Again, not the hotel's fault. Our team ended up playing in the championship on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 pm, which is after their normal check out time. We couldn't bring our dog into the arena and we would never leave her in the car, so I phoned the front desk on Saturday evening to request a late checkout so we could leave the dog in our hotel room while we played our 12:30 pm game. The manager, Genni, was so nice. When I explained to her our dilemma with the dog, she didn't hesitate to give us a late check out. This was a **huge** relief to my boyfriend and me. If she hadn't allowed us to check out later than normal, my boyfriend would've been forced to miss my game because he would've had to either walk the dog around the outside of the arena (can't bring the dog into the arena) or drive around while we played. I encountered at least 5 different staff members during our stay and every one of them were professional and pleasant. I was very impressed with this hotel (and I'm somewhat of a hotel snob) and I'm looking forward to staying their next year!
"Wonderful Staff, Excellent Property"
Dennis, Jessie, Jenny and Matthew all went went above and beyond in making sure our family was well taken care of during our 10 day stay here. They have become part of our extended family. Housekeeping Staff and Roxy had our room immaculate and ALL showed prompt and couteous service with a friendly attitude. We recommend this hotel to anyone and plan to come back. Hot Tub and pool were clean with plenty of towels. Even had a designated area we could take our service animals! How cool is that! You guys Rock! Thank You so much!
"Great hotel & wonderful staff!"
We stayed with our puppy in a king suite and it was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. We stayed during the week so it wasn't very busy. I am very picky when it comes to hotels and I would have to say this is one of the best that I have stayed at and it wasn't outrageously expensive. I will be going back to this hotel in the future!

"Pet Friendly"
I travel to this area with my dogs often. They have nice rooms and are pet friendly. In the dog walking area they have bags and a trash can, so the area stays neater than other pet friendly hotels in the area. Hockey kids stay here and can get noisy but the front desk will address it if you ask.

"A few horrible staff"
I had stayed here, I went down to breakfast and there where two men down there working. They did not seem friendly at all and looked very upset. Not a way to show good customer service. I grabbed my coffee and left because I was not about to sit around and watch some younger man and some older man be all grumpy in the morning not OK! Also, I will have to say that during my stay I had one AMAZING housekeeper come to my room I think her name was Mallory, gosh what a great lady she was the only reason why I didn't complain to front desk about those two guys! She did such a good job in my room I loved her spunk, and personal touch to my room! I love her smile! She is a keeper at this hotel! I will make sure my next stay I will see if she is working or I will NOT even dare come back!!!!!!! Give her some praise!!!!!!!!! Good job Lady!!!!! Keep up the hard work you guys probably never get enough!!!!!! The room was amazing!!!!! However boy better fix some crabby pants that work there!!!!

Thank you very much for leaving such a glowing issue about yourself and portraying as a TripAdvisor customer. Although TripAdvisor has allowed this review to remain online when you are an employee that had been dismissed being rude to customers I do not mind as the truth will be shown as time goes on. The owners of the Best Western Plus - Blaine hotel did not hire me for my "crabby pants" nature, but for my skills and expertise of being a manager that cares about the customer and will go the extra mile to put things right. There are not many general managers that can claim having over 20 years International experience and return to the United States to not only operate the number one hotel in Minot, North Dakota for 3 1/2 years, but also to have the number one hotel in North Dakota for as well for over a year. TripAdvisor also awarded this hotel with three Certificates of Excellence, and awarded the 2015 Travelers Choice Award. TripAdvisor does recognize those general managers that do make a difference to the industry and they have even awarded me with the Service Excellence Award. TripAdvisor would not provide these awards to individuals that do not not make a difference to their cause. Kind regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Poor basic service"
Staff did not seem prepared for number of people booked for our venue. Short on breakfast supplies, no towels for pool, poor shuttle service. Asked for express checkout, didn't get it. Computer shut down so I could not get a receipt
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to leave reviews on Best Western and on TripAdvisor. I wish you would have reached out to me directly to be able to handle your issues as some of the items you raise on TripAdvisor were never mentioned on your review with Best Western. When a customer has such a wide variety of issues and then leaves different comments on each it leaves my customers and myself with some doubt as to the validity of the issues. Our customers are very important to our hotel and I am sure that no hotel manager would think it beneficial to suffer so many complaints during one stay. I apologize for the delay in my response to your issues. You brought up several items which needed to be investigated in order to provide you with an appropriate response. I appreciate you drawing to my attention your concerns as I then can address items to stop them from happening in the future. My first concern was your experience at check in and check out. I do know we had a computer engineer out the day of your arrival making changes and then we had one of the computers that was not responding to our server so I was personally involved in trying to get this up and running as the wedding party had started checking in. I could agree if this was where we failed but you had scored us very high. The checkout process was where you let me know that we failed with our service and it was the same person that checked you out as in. I spoke with the front desk staff to see if there was any issues brought up, but nothing stood out. I can agree with you on the breakfast not being to the standard that our customers expect. I have taken over the management of the hotel recently and on Monday did a complete change of the entire breakfast area to make it run more smoothly and keeping like items all together. Also I am going through the process of changing a few of the food items to make it more appealing. This area I spoke with the person on breakfast that morning and she was not aware that anyone had issues with the availability of the pancakes or waffles, because there are backup batches made to replace them as required. I wish I had a better response for you, but I will agree with your situation. I can only apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the baby crying, which was across the hall and was another family with the wedding party. The door also has a sound dampener that I checked to ensure it was working properly. Unfortunately, in this instance we do not have control over a customer with a very vocal child. For wedding groups a room block is set up and agreed with the wedding party. This includes the number of rooms and the shuttle services. The times for these shuttles are arranged with the wedding party and we act per there instruction. An extra van had been arranged, but was not required. Room blocks are released 30 days prior to an event which allows our hotel to sell unused rooms to other guests. For the wedding party we were able to take an additional 9 rooms over the block at the last moment. We did end up with a few rooms in the hotel left for sale so I am not sure what has happened and why guests could not get a room. Very often we get a few additional that decide to stay after an event and in this instance would have been able to accommodate. The situation you had with your toilet was also unfortunate. You did not say if you had brought this up at checkout or let us know about your situation so we could act immediately to take care of your problem. It did turn out though we needed to call a plumber in as a toothbrush was found to be partially blocking drainage. As an assurance of quality control my business cards are predominately placed at the front desk with my personal phone number for any guest to reach out to me if they experience any issues that were not resolved. I would have been more than happy to get any of the situations dealt with so we could have made your stay more enjoyable. It has been very unfortunate that your experience was not what you expected as I heard from several of the wedding party comment on how they enjoyed their stay. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Excellent!"
The fumes from having our floors refinished were too much to sleep in, so at the last minute we contacted this hotel because it is near our kids' school and my husband's work. Because of the late hour and our circumstance, they didn't require a full booking over the phone - they just walked me through the options and then held the room we needed. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel was attractive and clean both on the outside and the inside. The modern decor was a lot of fun. Our room was very spacious, with comfortable places for all four of us to sleep. The breakfast was tasty and filling, and at a great time so that my kids were able to be well-fed before I took them to school. The pool was very comfortable and the hot tub was actually hot, which was a fun way to relax on a school night - a nice treat! The hotel is right next door to a Culver's so we enjoyed dinner, and later treats there. There is also a Target not quite a block away. We didn't use it, but it was nice to know it was there just in case. The internet worked wonderfully. We could all be on our devices with no problem, while enjoying cable TV. The kids were able to get their studying done and still have some fun. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Hockey tournament"
What a fantastic hotel! Very courteous staff! The family was welcomed at the desk and they help a fellow family out when the heat in their room stopped. Maintenance was there in no time. A great hotel overall! The kids enjoyed the pool and arcade. The breakfasts were also delicious!
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
I am very pleased to hear that the situation with your heat in the room was handled quickly. The cold weather has been a challenge when we have been used to such unseasonably warm weather this winter. My goal is that our guests whether they be children or adults can relax and enjoy their time away from their home. We hope that we will be able to welcome you back to our area soon. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke
"Thermostats Dont Work"
If you stay at this hotel, plan on the thermostats not working, and the internet was horrible. We froze the first night after they said they would send someone to fix it. The internet keeps dropping you, so if you plan on working from your room, better have a hot spot.
DennisGumke, General Manager at BEST WESTERN PLUS Blaine At The National Sports Center, responded to this review
Thank you for drawing your situation to my attention about your stay at the hotel. Matters such as this should have been treated with a sense of urgency. Especially since we were going through an extreme cold snap. It is very unfortunate that a situation such as this has occurred on my first day of taking over as the General Manager as this item was very easy to rectify. I would like to assure you that I will be taking the appropriate steps within the hotel that instances such as this will never occur again. This first step has been to place my name with business cards that have my personal number on them so if guests do have an issue they are able to speak with me directly if something is not taken care of. The front desk staff should be trained to instruct our customers on how to use the thermostats as it was only a matter of showing you how to operate it. The internet is also something I am exploring as I have had great success in my previous hotels, because many hotels do struggle with internet service because of the number of devices connecting to them to stream from their favorite platform. I also need to accept some blame in this matter because I didn't handle the situation up to my own standard even with it being my first day. When I had been briefed of your situation I apparently had not been given all the information and when I returned to the hotel in the afternoon had been advised that you were happy and the situation had been resolved. I do hope that in the future you will give me an opportunity to show you that these changes will bring this hotel to your expectations. My apologies for the inconvenience this matter has cause to you and any others in your group. Warm regards, Dennis Gumke General Manager
"Great Stay"
Very clean and modern rooms. Good looking hotel. Hot breakfast in morning. Comfortable beds. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Would definitely stay here again. There was a barking dog and crying baby in room above me in the early morning. Cant help that though I guess. Wish I could have brought my dog!!
"Beautiful and functional rooms"
Loved the décor in our King suite; had a nice dressing table with outlet just outside bathroom. Very spacious, and included fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. Bed very comfortable. Free internet and free parking. Close to sports center (we were there for gymnastics competition). Only down side was one of the elevators out of order and hot tub not working the night we were there. Breakfast was good.
"Stayed before? Try it again . . ."
I have stayed at this property many times in the past 4 years. Very close to the Schwans Rinks for hockey. It has always been a good location but was a bit run down before. It looks AMAZING now! New decor in and out. New flooring, updated breakfast area. I was impressed. There was also new management - nice but still working thru some change over issues. Overall good experience for our team.
"Great Pet Friendly hotel"
Great hotel, conveniently located. Clean rooms, nice staff and very pet friendly. Dog area has bags for clean up and a trash can so the area stays clean. Located next to Culvers, Gander Mountain just behind it and Target about 2 blocks away

"Hotel"
I was treated very poorly at this hotel. The front desk was very rude to me and had no respect what so ever. I thought it would be nice to stay at but I will not stay here again. They didn't treat me good the whole time I was here. Veryy disappointed.

"Bad Service"
My experience with this Hotel was not good. They were rude and disrespectful to my girlfriend. Even though I was a part of a larger group for a wedding they did not give me group rate. When my girlfriend tried to check in they would not let her. Even thought i had put her name on reservation and put my card down. They forced her to put her name down and change it to her. So she ended up paying. Over all just not good. I will avoid this Hotel in the future especially with other good options close by.

"Great Hotel for the money"
This hotel was very accommodating to our Hockey team...it was a nice treat to have a hotel welcome a team. The facility was clean and well run...an overall good value. Location is perfectly located near National Sports Center and many restaurants. Really appreciated the hot breakfast.

"Quiet & Clean - recently remodelled"
I stayed here with my son for a hockey tournament in the fall of 2015. It was a group booking of about 15 families, scattered between three floors. Breakfast: The included breakfast was your usual continental, but with some notable differences. There was your waffle maker, but there was also a pancake maker! The hot food selection was also nice... Sausages, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns (grated), and one day was biscuits and gravy. The coffee was also excellent. The only issue we had was the placement of the coffee machine. It was next to the hot entree's (popular area) which was in the corner. The creamers were fine where they were, but the sugar and such was on the wall next to the hot food section. It seemed like every time you went for a coffee you were battling around people getting their hot food. Hopefully that's something that they can easily modify. Pool/Arcade: Decent size for a hotel... had a small wading pool for the little ones. Hot tub was actually hot and a decent size. Pool area was clean. The arcade on site was clean and in a separate room. Rooms: You can tell they've recently updated. Everything was new or refreshed. Room was clean and definitely comfortable. Large screen tv, microwave and mini-fridge. Bathroom was clean, decent water pressure and hot water. The spacious room also had a small couch/table area. The beds had brand new linens/pillows and you could tell the mattress was also brand new. We could hear pounding from the room upstairs, but no noise transferred through the walls. Service: Check-in was a breeze. No issues with keys not working all weekend. Maid service was friendly and efficient. The only issue we had was when we wanted to gather as a group in the evening. There really wasn't a place we could go. They would not allow us to sit in the breakfast area, and they advised that they could let us into the conference room, but there would be a charge and we would have to vacate by 10 anyways. I understand the viewpoint of the hotel of attempt to curtail evening functions for various reasons, but it's frustrating when you're looking to keep things quiet and willing to stay in one area to limit noise transference. We were eventually allowed to congregate in the lobby area. The staff was polite through the entire conversation - no issue with them, just with policy. Location: 2 mins from Schwan rinks, in the same parking lot as a Culvers. 2 seconds to pretty much all shopping and food choices you'd like. So great location. Wifi: The FREE wifi was kind of sketchy... Fair amount of disconnects that was noticed by more than myself. Perhaps a few wi-fi extenders are in order. Overall stay: Very enjoyable, would stay again if the price was right. We did get a great rate going through the hockey tournament of $99/night for double queens. A friends team is there in early January for $169/night for the same room.

Dear Azarius 74, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us! We had definitely had some recent updates to all areas of our hotel completed June of this year including our Hot home styled breakfast!! We do apologize for the inconveniences that you encountered during your stay. We have taken your suggestions into consideration so that we can avoid these troubles with future guests! We hope to see you and the team back at that best western plus!
"Obvious closest place for NSC events"
Was at the NSC for a sports show and booked this hotel due to its convenience. More expensive than other options in the general area, but nothing else is as close to the NSC facilities. That was worth paying for, in my opinion. There was a hockey tournament also being held at the NSC, so this hotel was busy with young hockey players and their families. I chose a room on the top floor to minimize the noise from some of these other guests. Check in and out was efficient, friendly, and accurate. Room was modern and comfortable. Bed was very comfy. Plenty of room to work and spread out. Bathroom was without any problems. Wifi was strong in the room. Loads of restaurants nearby. All in all, I'd recommend and would certainly stay here again.

"Decent Hotel"
Nice comfortable hotel. Parking is a bit of a pain. During my stay, a construction trucks were blocking an entrance and several parking spots. Good location. The pool is great for families with small children! Breakfast was on the below average side.

"Good except beds too high in accessible rooms."
Everything good except the beds are kind of high for a mobility accessible room. My travel partner and I are both wheelchair users and the beds were hard to get into. This has become a problem nation wide. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BACON HOTELS! STOP PUTTING HIGH BEDS IN ACCESSIBLE ROOMS!

Dear John K, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing! We have just finished a complete renovation of our entire hotel. I am glad you liked our modern decor; one of my favorite areas is our lobby with the 24 hour coffee/tea bar, 72 in flat screen HD LCD TV to watch while relaxing in one of our many comfy chairs! We are an all suites property. All of our rooms are extra large with pull out sleeper sofas, make up area and large executive desk. We can't wait to have you as our guest again in the future here at the BEST WESTERN Plus Blaine at the National Sports Center!
"Pam"
We would like to say what a wonderful staff you have. First of all your housekeeper Shariee is a sweetheart and does a great job, next Shanen is also a good housekeeper. And in the breakfast area Bonnie helped me out everyday mshe was there and what a big help since I am in the wheel chair. Now the smiling face that I seen every morning and the joy she gave me was Mallory. Ever one of these girls helped me more than you know but mmost of all there smiles and there friendlyness keep me going. Thank all of you!

"One Night Stay"
We stayed here for a night due to a function I was attending in the area. Check in was quick and efficient. We stayed in a 4th floor double. The room was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. I was not able to partake in the provided breakfast but it looked better than an average hotel continental breakfast. I wish we had time to use the pool and hot tub as it looked nice. There was also a decent sized workout room and arcade. Everything was clean and updated. I appreciated the complementary Sunday paper. I would stay here again next time I'm in the area. Good job Best Western Plus!

"Nice Value"
Decided to stop here on our way home from Glacier National Park. Nice surprise. Newer property with nice furnishings on the north side of the Minneapolis area. Close to many restaurants. Second time we have stayed at Best Western Plus and I am becoming a fan of this brand.

"Needs work woth details"
Room and bath were clean and nice. Bed was comfortable. But the 1 queen bed room was not very large, and the bathroom was also small. Housekeeping missed cleaning my room on the 3rd day. Went to the desk to get some clean towels. Desk clerk provided them, but he clearly did not care that my room was not cleaned. Stay at this property once a year for business, and have found they have trouble getting employees that provide great service - or perhaps the training is poor. But not a lot of hotel choices in Blaine, and the location is convenient for me.

Dear B W, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing. Our single queen rooms are a smaller room type since the bed type is just a single queen. All of our rooms are equipped with a pull out sleeper sofa, microwave, fridge, single cup coffee maker, hairdryer, free wi-fi and so much more! We also have a large pool area with kiddie pool and hot tub. I have already spoke with my Housekeeping Manager and Front Desk in regards to your concerns. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and customer service so I apologize we did not meet your expectations. We can't wait to see you again on your next business trip!
