Best Western Plus Hotel The Normandy Inn & Suites, Minneapolis

Couldn't have felt more at home. I'll never stay anywhere else in the Minneapolis St. Paul area again. The best food along with bartenders that can make any drink imaginable. The owner is also on hand to solve any problems that may arise.

Had a horrendous stay at this sketchy hotel. Staff lied about the availability of a hospital shuttle. Was there for a surgery for my elderly mother. The restaurant and its staff were nice, but during the four nights we were there it closed every day at 10:30am. Location is in a rough part of downtown and nearby restaurants were rarely open. My mother's suitcase and it's contents were stolen at 7:00am. Would not be at all surprised if it was taken by a staff member. Front desk staff didn't not offer any assistance when told of the theft. We did not have a car and when we asked a question about transportation to the airport, staff members said he didn't know the answer. The room was fairly quiet, but the furnishings were old and worn. Honestly feel this hotel should be shut down.

App needs work for early check ins and points system is terrible however staff is very very amazing hot tub/pool and steam room are amazing plus we n house bar and breakfast are awesome I will be returning I'm December hoping early check in through app and points system is fixed by then

Nice hotel, bit old fashioned atmosfeer which is nice. Everything very clean. Good rooms, GREAT swimming pool and bubblebath. Strange customers, looks like a show when you sit in Lobby and see customers passing by. In swimming suits , in towel, in pyama. Sometimes very loud. But acceptable. Only things what are not so good is the wifi: on 4th floor simply no connection and very slow. And really really bad are the waiting times for breakfast. Only menu choice is possible with breakfast included and despite it is good, waiting times for sometimes 45 min are not acceptable. Please make a buffet style breakfast for people who are in a hurry. Restaurant and bar sometimes closed without notice.

The Normandy Inn is a treasure in the midst of a big city where you are treated with respect and kindness with a smile. The Inn Keeper - Mr. Noble has a great team working for him that really shows in how every detail is handled - the stay was wonderful, pool, spa, Normandy Kitchen and Bar - all were great and I so look forward to coming down again! Truly a great place!!!

We chose this particular hotel to avoid driving in the city. Parking was plentiful, cheap, and safe. I could walk wherever I needed once we were there. Had a ridiculously good breakfast at the Normandy kitchen.

We loved this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel décor was unique and inviting. The parking lot was very convenient. The breakfast was amazing. We really enjoyed the eggs benedict and the apple fritter French toast. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Terrific hotel. It is obvious that cleanliness is key here as this hotel is very well maintained and CLEAN. Staff, restaurant and bar are very nice. The rooms are very modern with lots of USB charging outlets, fridge etc. A gem of a hotel well worth considering.

The Normandy knows how to treat travelers from start to finish. Other hotels could take a lesson from them. My room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, The pool/jacuzzi area is clean and well maintained. Every meal was delicious and the wait staff made a real effort to make each meal special. The bar has a great selection and is a friendly place. I was a little nervous as a solo traveler but they were so welcoming and professional those fears were quickly forgotten.

If you are looking for a fantastic and pleasant hotel stay, look no further! Truly a beautiful experience from the moment you walk into the rustic, welcoming lobby to the time you check out. The staff treats you with kindness and are very accommodating too. Located in downtown, it is within close proximity to plenty of bars, restaurants, shops, and fun attractions. Complimentary milk and cookies in the evening is just one more enticing, tasty, perk to staying at The Normandy Inn. Definitely will be re-booking next time we are in the area!

Good food at the restaurant, and the staff was super friendly. I picked this spot for the distance to the stadium and the short walk to the Vikings Football game. It was perfect! The hotel was clean, the room was clean, no complaints about this place and would definitely come back if we were ever in the area again.

I have been a regular at the Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis since 2015 and have never been disappointed with my accommodations or the service I received. It is a quiet place with a wonderful restaurant (with a history going back a hundred years) and complimentary cookies and milk in the lobby at 10 p.m. for heavenly sleep on a very fine and comfortable mattress. It's like sleeping on a cloud! Everyone is welcoming and accommodating. Besides, the Normandy probably has the best rates in town.

Customer service from the staff was excellent, very friendly, all smiling, attentive, accommodating, remembered my name. This is the hotels biggest asset. Room was a great big beautiful area with a sitting room and a huge comfy king size bed. Beautifully decorated hotel. When I saw staff dusting the leaves of a plant, I knew cleanliness was a priority here. Great hotel in the middle of some amazing restaurants & it just feels....like home away from home. I have stayed at some of the other hotels in the area....they don't compete with this one. Parking is so easy...no huge parking ramps to navigate. Absolutely one of my favorites!

The Normandy Inn & Suites was a great place to stay, very clean and comfortable. Their lounge was very nice, great atmosphere. We stayed here because we were going to the Twins Game, and it was a very nice 8 block walk to the game. They offer fresh cookies & milk at 10:00 pm, a nice snack before bedtime. I would definitely stay at The Normandy Inn & Suites again.

While I wasn't thrilled with having to pay for parking (an extra $75 for the days we stayed), the room was nice, the location convenient, and the cost was a bit lower than the others nearby. Near a skywalk entrance.

The Normandy is a pleasant and cozy spot to stay in downtown Minneapolis just blocks from the Nicolette Mall. Price was right for the accomodations, service was friendly and professional. Restaurant and bar on site was affordable with a great atmosphere.

This hotel looks expensive and is very fancy, but is quite affordable. Décor is awesome thru out both hotel and the restaurant. Nice indoor pool. The restaurant attached has awesome food. Just a few blocks walk to the stadium.

Stayed here August 12th to 14th. I found the hotel itself to be very charming. It was unique in its decor as an authentic European property. The room we had was average but the bed was VERY comfortable and the room was clean. It has a fridge, soaps and shampoos. However no blow dryer good thing I brought my own. Please note, rooms at this hotel will not be cleaned unless you ask for it. This is part of their green policy . As we were only there for 3 days I didn't mind this at all. On the last day we asked for fresh towels and that's all that was needed. The reason for the 3 stars was the fact the restaurant was only open sporadically. When I asked why? they said it was a staff shortage. Very disappointing considering there are no restaurants really close by to grab a quick meal. the bar / restaurant closed early when it was open. However the couple of times it was open, the food was AMAZING! However, the service was incredibly slow. We almost walked out because we had concert tickets and had waited over an hour for our meal. Such a shame. If your looking for night life in the area you won't find much. You have to walk 4 or 5 blocks to find a couple pubs. HOWEVER the location to the US Bank Stadium is spot on. You can walk from this hotel. The Blue Line is just a few block down as well that will take you to the Mall of America for just a couple bucks (and back again) unfortunately, it was down when we tried to use it. The front desk staff was very nice. I had such a nice experience with the fella working he was very helpful and informative (and funny). The only other issue I had with this hotel was the fact for 2 days they were really slow getting coffee on in the lobby because they ran out of filters? Ya I thought okie dokie send someone to get some how hard could it be ha ha? I believe they finally sent someone the second day. BUT the coffee in the lobby is very good as well. Overall I would stay here again if I was going to a concert or football game.

My stay at the Best Western Plus Normandy Suites was excellent par none! The amenities were just what my husband and I needed. We will be going back! And our wedding reception was awesome! The food was outstanding. Our guests were asking about recipes from the chef!

It takes a ton to be impressed by hotel stays anymore -- especially post-covid. However, this Best Western Plus property is among the best I've stayed at, REGARDLESS of the class of hotel! If I had to guess, the original property was built back in the early 1920s. This latest rendition is likely five year old or so -- but the original charm was kept! Imagine the hotel decor and "vibe" of The Continental in the John Wick film series -- it's like that, only without the guns! Seriously, I'll go back in a heartbeat. Loved the rate, too.

Overall, very nice hotel in downtown Minneapolis, close to the convention center, Nicollet Mall, and other area attractions. Rooms are a touch dated but everything was in good shape overall. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The Manager and Staff are always super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always clean and super comfortable. Every time that my friends and I are in Minneapolis we stay here and we will continue to stay here in the future. The location is amazing and parking is never a problem. I would recommend to anybody staying in downtown Minneapolis.

High-end Best Western in the middle of downtown. Finding the main entrance was a challenge partly due to one way streets. Reception and sign out staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Once you figure out how to get in, we had no trouble getting a parking spot which was free. Only downside was no free breakfast. There is a restaurant on site.

I was overall very pleased with my stay at the Normandy Best Western. I loved the charm of the hotel and the history. Overall most of the staff was fairly friendly, but I did have a couple of complaints, one I consider very serious. I had called the hotel multiple times including the day of to let them I would be checking in late due to a late flight and also that I had two reservations that I wanted to bridge together so I would not have to checkout and back after our first night. I knew I would be tired and would want to sleep in the next day, so I was very careful to plan ahead for this. When we arrived to check-in just after midnight as expected, I was not greeted in a friendly manner at all despite being a diamond member. I was not even thanked for my continued patronage or provided the complimentary water. The greeting could not have been worse by the older gentleman working the front desk that evening/early morning. He acted annoyed and indignant that I was even bothering him while he was busy. I nearly lost it when he told me I'd have to come down in a few hours to checkout and check back in because I have two reservations. When I informed him, no, I was not doing this. I was a diamond member and had already called the hotel multiple times to ensure this was not necessary, he just sighed heavily and rolled his eyes at me. He said he just rebooked my reservation with an even heavier sigh and air of exasperation. I cannot even begin to express to you how bad of a customer service experience this was. I loved the pool, the décor in the hotel, the restaurant, the laundry, the complimentary flavored water and cookies and even the small workout facility. The only other minor complaint I had was the room/suite organization/decoration. The desk was in the bedroom, and this is a problem because I wanted to work in the early morning some days without waking up my daughter who would still be sleeping. Also, the arrangement of furniture in the living room area while pleasant to look at, just made the room much smaller than it already was. I understand moving the chairs and couch off the while for decorating reasons, but it makes the already small room extremely small with very little navigable room. The very long coffee table didn't help either. It's way too large for that size furniture and was more of hindrance than a help. The furniture is a bit old and could stand to be updated.

My room in this hotel was very comfortable, with plugs being available everywhere, extra coffee for coffee service and wonderful water available next to ice machine. The parking was convenient and reasonably priced for a downtown location. The restaurant was good. I walked a couple of blocks for meals off-site also. It was about a 10-12 min walk to convention center. I would definitely stay here again.

When checking out, reported that room's air conditioner did not work (day of checkout the repair person had replace broken unit in room with another unit). During check out the front clerk said hotel manager would call to follow up since manager was not on duty. Left my phone number, never received follow up call.

We were in town for commencement and picked the Normandy because of good reviews and affordable price. Very nice clean hotel with handy restaurant for breakfast and nice lobby to gather in and visit. Have stayed several other places and this is our new favorite for college visit. Easy 8minutes from UMinn.

The Normandy Inn is a very cute hotel right in the middle of Minneapolis. We had a great stay with great staff, and it was very easy to get around the city from this location. I recommend everyone stay here at least once.

Great location. The staff was helpful. The rooms were nice and very clean. They pool was clean and enjoyable. The restaurant was great and didn't have a wait time. We didn't use the other breakfast options around town because the hotel restaurant had enough options, excellent service, a good Bloody Mary, and good prices.

Exceptionally Clean, Super Quiet, Comfortable, Attractive, Economical, Convenient parking. Staff are eager to accommodate. Atmosphere is rich. Hot tub is pristine. Nice pool. Great breakfast menu. Tavern on premise. Beds are extremely comfortable with pillows galore. Clean, Clean, Clean hotel. The price is unbelievable. Great base location for Minneapolis, St. Paul venues and restaurants.

Front desk staff are rude and have side conversations instead of concentrating on check in. I was never told anything about the on site restaurant, pool location or hours, and the hot tub isn't hot and jets don't work! Parking is a nightmare and the staff couldn't take the time to explain that either. Air and heat or reversed and loud. Toilet leaked all over the floor and ran the entire time. We were given 2 towels for a 4 person room! Don't call the front desk either or you get rude tone and attitude as they are put out and can't do their job! Beautiful decor horrid staff! Stay at the Holiday Inn down the street the staff there are AMAZING!!

I have never stayed in a hotel that made me feel like a literal jail mates. Staff yelled at us and almost refused to let us in because one person in my group forgot their room card. Don't call the front desk staff unless you want lies and rude people and if you are traveling with a large group needing more than one room, don't bother requesting a room close to each other, also don't expect to see the rest of your group either because you will get yelled at and threatened to be kicked out if you step a singular foot into the hallway.

Stayed here for 2 nights with our family: 2 adults, 3 kids (16, 15, 3 yrs old) and 2 dogs (GSD). The place was well priced for the size room we stayed in, Double Room Suite, had to full size beds in a overly large bedroom, additionally living room with small dining table, chair, and sofa with queen size pull out bed. The place was clean, bathroom tile shower was large, sperate bathroom sink from shower/toilet made it nice for getting ready while others were using the bathroom. Small fridge and microwave allowed for us to bring back leftovers. My only issue was you have no control over the temp in your room. The whole place runs on boiler heat, so the whole place has heat on, or off. And they claim they don't turn on the AC until April, so the only way to cool off your room is to open the windows, which have no screens, and can open all the way. So if you have dogs/cats or small kids, this is not ideal, and frankly dangerous. I'm not even sure how they can allow windows to be opened all the way without some sort of safety feature that prevents kids from falling out (legally). Also, the support bar in the sofa pull out was broken off, so we had to take the mattress off the couch and lay it on the floor so we didn't sink through the middle of the bed. Aside from that, the price was unmatched by anyone else in the downtown area if you have pets. The pool and hot tube are located and an area that feels like your outside, but is enclosed, with lots of natural light.

Great hotel with an authentic feel to it. It really doesn't look or feel like a best western. The beds were very comfortable along with the pillows which is hard to Find in a hotel now days. I'll definitely come back here with our family again

We can recommend the Best Western Normandy Inn and Suites if you are traveling with your dog and happen to be in Minneapolis. The hotel is several blocks from the Mississippi River, so it gives you a great walk with the dog in the morning and the evening. Restaurants in that area seem to be fairly dog-friendly, and the walk along the River is beautiful. The hotel itself is well cared-for even though from the outside it may appear dated. It is cozy inside and provides a great pool and hot-tub. Beds are comfortable -- and the pillows, very comfortable.

The hotel and the staff were very nice. In particular, the staff were extremely helpful and very customer service oriented. The place was very, very clean and felt like it was very safe. It was easy access from the airport and a very pleasant stay in the downtown Minneapolis area.

Always the best place to stay. Amazing pool area and parking and accessible by foot to all of the places we want to go. We have been going here for over 20 years and now with our kids it's the best place to go with the entire family

This hotel is a very well maintained property that has been a MPLS legend for decades. The hotel common area features beautiful corridors with deep leather couches, chess boards, pianos and other casual elegance. Dozens of places to settle in to relax, watch the comings and goings, and enjoy. Perfectly maintained pool, clear water, clean towels. Room was clean, well kept linens and furnishings in great shape. Amenities included a purified water station, ice and pitcher.

Semi-secure parking on site, clean rooms, good location, quiet, nice amenities. Good value for the price. Restaurants in walking distance on a nice day. TV channels limited, bed linens comfortable, mattress too soft.

This hotel is one of the very few that still has poolside rooms. It's a great opportunity for families to have a getaway that includes the ability to swim nearby. Staff is very friendly and hotel is very clean.

Our friends stayed at The Normandy in the past. What a great hotel. It has a Nordic feel and was decorated so festive for the holidays. The rooms were very clean and are a nice size. They aren't cleaning the rooms due to COVID, but you can request clean towels and toiletries. The housekeepers were always very friendly. The hotel has an indoor pool, as well as a restaurant on site. We ate at the restaurant one evening. Food was very good, as well as the service. We went in one evening after an NFL game, it was busy, but they did a decent job trying to keep up with the crowd. The hotel is located near most attractions. If it's not within walking distance, the train is close by. You can take it to the Mall of America, University of Minnesota or even St. Paul. Clean rooms, great location and reasonable price. You can beat this hotel.

Fun hotel with charming details unlike any of the other properties in the area. Clean and comfortable, friendly staff and excellent location within walking distance of many downtown attractions. Would stay here again.

We where not able to access our room at midnight and no one could help us get into our room where our luggage and meds were. The next day we where given NO satisfaction from management. Followed calls stonewalled us as we expected more understanding and are stuck with the $200.00 room bill for a room we never slept in. How could this happen ? And WHY no caring by the hotel ?

To star my husband and I were planning are daughters golden birthday party she was turning 6. I was told I needed to work with the sales manager Bryan K. Working with him we were told we could rent a party room for a certain amount of money and a number of other promises were made 4 weeks before the party I contract was also signed. 5 days before the party a Michael Flodquist calls as say that he is now taking over and that none of the things bryan promised were tru e and that a new contract would need to be done. We were ordering food buffet style for 25 people mind you it was for a 6 years olds birthday party. He told me that if more then 25 people ate they would be charging me per person. Also, I was not able to take any food that was left with me. Plus I had a room in the hotel to stay overnight with the girls and still was not able to take left over food. One of the things Bryan promised was parking passes for my guest. The day before the party I received an email from Bryan saying that his daughter had COVID and he would be out for the next 10 days and that the owner of the hotel Mike Noble 612-370-1400 said that he was unable to honor that promise. Day of the party we were granted all the parking passes we asked for by the employees working that day, I was also informed that Bryan had resigned 2 days earlier, we were able to take the food home and the hotel room that we stayed in Bryan quoted me $149.00 and it was only $79.00. We called the owner asking if we could pay him half price for the parking passes and he said NO we are a for profit business I cant give them away. So with that being said you will never ever get my business again. Plus those that attended my party including my professional party planner will NOT be retuning to your establishment. You should not have such a high rating the service is not great at all.

Another good experience at the Normandy! Love the location and on site parking, and now discovering the great breakfast in the french style restaurant on site. It's unpretentious and a not too shabby chateaux right in the city.

This hotel is a bit dated, but it worked well as we didn't spend much time in the hotel. The restaurant was delicious and had a great breakfast. We stayed for concert at US bank Stadium and the location was perfect as it was a quick walk there and back. Great location for a quick stay. Beds were also very comfortable.

I'm so glad that we were able to get a room at this hotel for the Rolling Stones concert on 10/24/21!!! It was well-maintained and updated, very clean, and nicely decorated. Staff did a great job as everyone piled in to check in early on Sunday. Parking is wonderful out back with a card provided for entry and exit. You can go to the back door and drop off your belongings for easy access to the main section of rooms. If your room is located in the smaller section of the property, be sure to use the elevator that looks like a door straight down the hall from the lobby. The back elevators don't take you to those rooms. The hotel is only a few blocks from the stadium and other downtown venues. Worth every penny!!

Hotel was very clean. Beds were comfy. Front desk was nice but not overly friendly. We asked about local things to see and where to eat. They weren't very excited about the city. Location was great to walk around for food and shopping. Pool and hot tub were nice. Only negative was there was garbage in the sitting area of the pool for the 3 nights we were there. Garbage cans were full. Parking was easy and we could go in and out with our ticket. Price for hotel and parking very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. We would definitely stay there again.

When we're in Minneapolis this is the main place we want to stay. Fast easy check in/out, friendly, very clean, lots of amenities and a great location! Never have had a bad experience here in the last 5 years.

This was a disappointment overall. Purchased a two double bed suite as there were three of us on the trip. Discovered the included microwave did not work upon arrival. Let the desk know, and nothing was done. Entered the room, and changed the thermostat down from 73 to 70 for comfort. Woke up in the middle of the night and temperature in room was +/- 75. Id did not get lower than 75 the rest of the weekend, and was as high as 78 when check in middle of night. Did not spend much time in room during day, who knows how hot it got. Front desk gave a verbal apology, but, nothing was done to remedy the issue or refunded night for our two major issues. No sheets were provided for the pull out couch mattress. Slept on scratchy blankets that probably weren't washed as hairs were found. The water pressure in the shower was quite poor, did not feel this would be remedied, so no complaint made. I expected financial compensation or refunded night for this weekend's visit. Nothing given.

One night stay for a Vikings game, brought hunting dog along as we hunted on the way there, early checkin situation was provided even after they had a full night before, always great services ! Advice on not leaving the parking because it could be taken,because if game, just helpful and accommodating!

Great place to stay. Can walk to most places, but good transit service to get you where you need to go. The train is a great experience, but do take the time to review the system. Hotel was peaceful even with a kids pool party going on.

An amazing hotel with exceptional staff. They are very polite, friendly, professional, and accommodating. Definitely will Stay here each time I come to town. The bar/restaurant staff are awesome. Great personality, friendly, and quick service.

Jackie and Dawn are truly amazing!!! they went beyond expectations. Truly great customer service. The hotel is a historical work of art and yet the rooms seem to be recently renovated with all of the modern touches.

The Normandy Inn and Suites exceeded my expectations for a comfortable nights stay. The pool, hot tub, and sauna looked inviting an clean, the restaurant/bar within the building was a inviting. I would definitely consider an extended stay here the next time visiting Minneapolis.

Before even going, make sure your making a reservation with the actual hotel or pay $20 by some unknown service. This hotel is surrounded by one-way streets. Miss your turn and go two blocks west, one block north, two blocks east, and one block south just to find the door. The turn in is barely enough for one car. It's easy to miss with no Best Western sign. Check-in went fine (sort of). I took the one-ways AGAIN to the parking lot. Got into the elevator to the 3rd floor but couldn't find my room! That's because my room was in a different building. At check I was not told this. WiFi locks up easy and often. Forget premium channels on the TV unless your really tech savvy. Restaurant was closed when I was there - of coarse. Two restaurants are within walking distance (3blocks. Hen House is good). Got in at 10pm stopped at the restaurant and got one scoop of ice cream -$8. Listened to the sound of police sirens all night. Finally at check-out out I find a $12 a day parking charge. Never Again. Good: clean, hot shower water, excellent water dispensers.

Had a room where it's split into two, one side with the bed and the other side is separate with a kitchenette and tv. Not sure if all the rooms are like that but it was nice after being in so many hotel rooms where everything was in one room. Decor was a little dated but I don't need fancy. The front desk staff could use some retraining but other than that, it's a decent place to stay. As a guest, I'm not familiar with the layout of the hotel so when checking in, the front desk should explain all that a first-timer would need to know, like how to drive to the parking lot on one way streets. I have enough sense how to do it but just saying the parking is behind the hotel wasn't enough once you start driving and realize the one way street issue. Also, the guest has to take the right elevator to get to their room. Staff only said to take the elevator so as soon as I entered from the parking lot, I naturally took the first elevator I saw. On the road for hours, walking down the long hallways carrying luggage, trying to find the room, only to realize there's another elevator on the other side of the hotel. That would have been very helpful to know! I was going to ask about some tips about spots around the city but since the front desk was so poor at basic check-in instructions, I decided not to bother asking them anything. Wouldn't you know the same person worked each shift that I passed by.

I am consistently pleased to stay at The Normandy and this experience was no different. Since I travel for work, I'd only been on property once in 16 months. Imagine my surprise and pleasure that upon check in I was greeted with a "very nice to see you again." Yeah, I know there is a tickler system for rewards members, but it still made me feel special. Rooms may be a bit dated but they are super clean and more than adequate in terms of comfort and amenities.

I plugged in my phone to the USB slot on the alarm box next to the best. It melted my power cord and my phone port, my phone is dead. It no longer works because I plugged it into Best Western's USB provided port. This morning, I spoke to the hotel Manager Jeffrey Jerry and he blamed my week old usb cord that I've used in several locations every single day without a problem or it ever getting hot.... until best western.

Hotel web site lists local shuttle, complimentary cookies at 10 pm and world class cleaning service. There were no cookies at 10, no shuttle service available and a diaper in the room does not represent world class cleaning services.

I stayed here with my 9 year old and 3 year old and we had a great time! I loved the decor and the staff were extremely friendly.bParking was onsite and easy to find. We had a pool side room on the first floor and it was perfect to have easy access to both our room and the pool. They were strict about quiet hours and we didn't hear any noise after 10p. They offer cold filtered water and a pitcher for refills which was fantastic. We picked this hotel so that we could explore the city and it didn't disappoint! We walked to Foshay tower to view the city scenery from the observation deck, then to Target and Peavy Plaza before heading back. It was around 7pm and we felt safe walking back. We ordered food from the hotel restaurant the Normandy Kitchen. Everything on the menu looks amazing but with kids I just ordered pizza and fries and we ate it by the pool. It was delicious! There is a beautiful bathroom near the pool and sauna. They offer coffee in the lobby in the morning but the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast. Luckily I packed some easy breakfast foods and we ate that by the pool and swam in the morning. I'm sure there are restaurants nearby for breakfast but it worked better for us to just stay there and relax. We will definitely be coming back to stay!

The Best Western Normandy Inn and Suites exceeded my family's expectations. It was a beautiful hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The pool area was wonderful as well. No continental breakfast but everything else about the hotel more than made up for that.

I was traveling with my son for a hockey tournament and we decided to stay in Minnesota upon our arrival before heading out to the tournament site. The biggest pro: great downtown location. The biggest con: room decor is dated. My wife asked if I had notice the 70's decor in the photos. There's an onsite restaurant, but no free breakfast. Parking for an additional (reasonable) fee. Our room was clean, if dated. Refillable carafe for water/ice. Reasonably priced.

We had a queen suite, which was huge. I'm not sure the bed was actually a queen, it looked more like a double but we made it work. Having the separate seating area was very nice since we were in town for several days. The parking at only $12 a day with in/out privileges was super reasonable for a downtown location. The location was in some ways not that convenient for us because there didn't seem to be much in the way of casual and reasonable food options within walking distance and we're not gourmet eaters. But we found good options within a 10-15 minute drive. One minor complaint: the bathroom door squeaked like crazy so if your travel companion used it during the night it was sure to wake you up. But overall a nice stay!

Definitely 5 out of 5. From amenities to staff and quality. The location was great and within walking distance to many places. It was clean and stylish and had many beautiful touches including a grand piano, fireplace in lobby, beautiful French style architecture. Henry (manager on duty) was great and very hospitable and friendly. Poncho and Ron (front desk) were also very professional and friendly. This place would be great for events due to its beauty and stylish touches. We stayed in a queen suite that overlooked the pool area. The room was immaculate and the layout was great. The bathroom was great and shower had great pressure and plenty of room. TVs were slightly small but with everything else being so great at this place, that can be easily overlooked. We ordered from the Normandy restaurant attached to the hotel and it was great. Richard from the restaurant was also very friendly and great. We had great conversation with him! Parking was $12 but we felt our vehicle was safer than street or public parking. Security measures here are great too. We've stayed at places where anyone can walk in but here you have to be buzzed in the back door from parking but never had to wait. Overall great stay. Our favorite best western location so far. Highly recommend.

Room service needs some quality assurance but other than that, and a few rude attendants this place was lovely. I would stay here again. Parking lot is safe as well. I truly appreciated that part as well.

Me and friend thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff members were professional and friendly! The hotel has a cute vintage old school aesthetic! Would come again, and I would definitely recommend staying here!

We had a poolside room. The pool said open till 11. Had someone from the front desk come in very rude and said this is a one warning. The pool is closed. It was 10:15. I will have my security move you. We were very understanding and willing to move back to our hotel. We assumed the pool was opened till 11 like we were told. We booked here because we were told they were open till 11 for the pool which was the longest in the area. I will not be staying here again. We also had the same front desk person tell us our rooms weren't adjoined when we called weeks ago making sure they were. He was very rude and angry when we were kind and did everything we were told and following the rules.

A good place to stay. Quiet, spacious and comfortable rooms. You can cast your phone to the television and there are a couple of option available for that too. Many restaurants within a short drive or some will deliver, becuase the on-site restaurant has a limited menu.

The WiFi would frequently disconnect, when playing a smartphone app game called Madden Mobile 21. When not playing this game, I also (infrequently) occasionally noticed poor WiFi signal strength in my room. I have encountered better WiFi signal strength at a least one Motel 6 location, which is upsetting, because Best Western locations are are more expensive chain location lodging options.

I had a great time staying at this hotel. I had called ahead requesting government rates for three different hotels, all prices about the same, but Best Western let me know that their current rates were lower than the government ones, and bumped me up to a suite at no extra charge. It was always clean, the complimentary shower products smelled wonderful, and it was super close to where I needed to be in downtown. Would definitely recommend and continue using this hotel in the future.

I am always totally impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness, and cleanliness if this hotel. The staff is excellent. They will bend over backwards to help a person. They are very accommodating. I definitely would recommend staying at the Best Western Plus Normandy Inn

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, that's where the good really stops. I would say it was also cheap, but after the surprise $12 a night parking charge, it was more expensive than several of the other hotel options out there. That alone would have been an issue, I probably could have read some fine print that there was going to be a parking charge, my biggest issue is that the toilet did not work. Wouldn't even flush TP without 3-4 attempts. On top of that, the room smelt like sewage when we first arrived, not a very welcoming smell. Other issues included the hall reeking of weed and the other occupants not seeming to have any care of others on the block. Understandably, the last two may have been out of the control of the hotel staff initially, but it would have been nice if they at least addressed any of the above issues. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and the interactions were positive, but the lack of follow through was not. Due to the above, our next stay will unfortunately not be Best Western. Hoping it was just a fluke, but it was enough of one to turn me off on Best Western.

My family and I left the Hilton about 5-8 minutes away to stay at the Best-western. It was the best decision we made and we had excellent service. The front desk gentleman was fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed. I would stay here again and love the atmosphere of this hotel. From the decor to the restaurant and staff, we were so happy to find a decent hotel and to have such a good night's rest. Thank you to all the staff working there to make our stay one of the best!!!!

This hotel is downtown. Plenty of parking, very clean, updated, comfortable rooms. Staff is excellent. Their restaurant is now open in the evenings. Which is great because there is not much open downtown. I stay here 3 times a month. I would not stay anywhere else unless I had unlimited budget and even then I would miss seeing my friends at Best Western Normandy!

What a perfect choice for these Tim's! Rooms were immaculate ((new air filtering system), fodd service was socially distance and delicious with very conscientious wait staff. The owner was present and watchful and ready to deal with any questions/needs! This is an awesome HOTEL comfortable, clean and accommodating in Downtown Minneapolis.

We absolutely love this hotel. Older with historic character, classic, great pool, hot tub and sauna. One of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed at with easy parking, great location and friendly staff. The restaurant has reduced hours do to Covid, but was great last year and had outdoor seating.

Beautiful lobby with a fireplace. Great French restaurant in lobby. It has a nice pool. The parking is very convenient and easy in and out so I was able to visit my daughter uptown and get back and forth in 10-15 minutes.

I came to check in and the woman was very rude. I had to overdo politeness to get her to be kind back. Later I went to pick up food and the guy at the front desk was rude as well. This was in June. He treated another hotel guest well. Not sure why at separate times they were both so dismissive and unprofessional with me. Will not be going back. I ended up checking out after just 3 hours because of their entitled attitudes. Waste of my money and time.

Really impressed with this place. Lot of new and clean features in the room. The building is olds but kept up and charming. Pool and restaurant/bar are a major plus. On site parking was super easy to navigate.

This hotel was great and pandemic pricing made it a great value. I am sure the $/nt would not have been what we paid during a "regular" summer. That said, location was great, the room (Suite with fireplace) was great. It was actually the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The staff were great.

From the moment I checked in and until I checked out, everything was so wonderful. Even during this pandemic time, the hotel crew did an outstanding job. The hotel was kept exceptionally clean--you could smell the clean. Since many places were closed down, the front desk was so helpful and informative about restaurants that delivered and that were reasonably priced and had good food. Whenever we come to town for a Minnesota Vikings game, THIS is where we stay! Very clean and well-managed hotel with super-convenient parking. It's just a 15-minute walk to US Bank Stadium, and with plenty of good places to eat and drink nearby.

Location was good. Hotel is an older style but still is good shape. Has indoor pool and exercise room. We stayed in second floor. They have parking that is pretty reasonable for a big city. And some of it is covered parking. Mattresses felt older. Not as firm and nice as other hotels. Husband slept okay. I didn't sleep well but I don't think it was the bed. Too wound up from the game. We would probably stay here again.

The hotel was good, the bed was okay and the hottub/pool/sauna were great. We were very disappointed in some aspects though. We searched for a free parking facility on Google and when this place was listed I searched the site and didn't see any information about parking so I continued forward with out reservation to find out after we reserved that the nightly charge for parking was $10 THEN to find out at the hotel that it was $12 (the same price someone would pay to park even if they WEREN'T staying at the hotel). When we checked in we brought it up only to be told "Well the price went up"...Not a good enough reason in my eyes to be charged more then I was told in the email upon already paying for parking when it was filtered under a free parking hotel. When we checked in I DID NOT opt for speed check out, but upon waking up the morning of check out they had slid the bill under the door and I was told to drop my cards in the box even though I told them I wanted to check out (to have the opportunity to discuss the pricing discrepancies). Ended up leaving aggravated with no solution.

Abigale, I can understand your frustration. Unfortunately when you use Google or any 3rd party website information is not always accurate. I would always advise that you contact a property directly to receive the most up to date information. I can tell you that our new parking rates went into effect on February 7, 2020. Our hotel guests receive in and out privileges and non hotel guests do not. Non hotel guests also pay three dollars per hour for parking. As a standard procedure all of our guests receive a copy of a receipt under their door. It shows a balance due so that if a guest wishes to change payment or come to the desk to check out they are able to do so. Unfortunately I don't believe the agent that assisted you had realized that you had an issue that you wanted to address and get resolved. Patty our General Manager will be contacting you shortly to discuss the issues that you experienced during your stay.

I've been doctoring at the U of M for four years now. Patty and the gang makes the trips so easy! Friendly service, nice rooms, not to mention rides to and from the U of M. In my opinion whether I stay her for the doctor or a concert I'm NOT staying anywhere else! Centrally located walking distance to all the sport arenas and concerts....give them a try they will not disappoint!!!!

I have stayed at this property 2-3 times per year for over 5 years. It feels like home and I always recommend it to friends traveling to the Twin Cities. Room decor is a bit dated but comfort is excellent and the staff is extremely accomodating.

A high-end hotel experience for a moderate price.The check-in staff is friendly and courteous. The rd restaurant and bar are comfortable and well staffed. The rooms are spacious and clean. The downtown location makes all of the Twin City areas accessible. I stay here every time I come to town.

Second time we stayed here. Both were great and met our needs. The lobby and hallways are stunning with beautiful decor and cozy sitting areas. Outside is quaint European but inside is even better. Rooms are furnished with everything we need and tastefully decorated. Cookies in the evening are nice treat. Restaurant menu does not provide much variety and in my opinion expensive, but there are places close by that are great. Really a gem of a place to stay!

Room was kept very clean. Close to skywalk which kept us very busy when we were not at hockey tournament. Close enough to Ridder Arena to make travel time minimal. We were not used to having to pay for parking but after comparing what the hotel was charging to what the University was charging, we were quite satisfied with money spent.

We had never stayed before. Hotel was nice and clean with a fun decor. The restaurant was very good. We were shocked to discover that when in our room, you could clearly hear the people in their rooms on each side of us. There was zero noise barrier. The hallway noise traveled into our room like they were talking in our room. Needless to say we got very little sleep as there were people going to their rooms at all hours of the night who felt the need to visit in the hallway. To top it off, the cleaning staff started bright and early and because the noise travels so bad, again it felt like they were in the room. If you want a place that is quiet enough to get a good night sleep, this is not the place for you.

I've driven by this place for years and recently started enjoying the restaurant for it's old school steak house vibe and delicious cocktails. We decided to stay here for a birthday celebration. We had no idea there was such a beautiful pool and jacuzzi tucked away and that the rooms would be so nice. It was a very good value for the location and we got to have brunch at one of our favorite spots when we woke up in the morning.

We had an emergency trip to Minneapolis for family health emergency. Staff offered for us to check in early which was so welcome. The shuttles to the hospital also relieved a lot of our anxiety. We are not used to maneuvering in a city

I travel frequently for business and have status at a number of chains, but I always pick the Normandy Inn when I stay in downtown Minneapolis. I was recently there on a leisure trip with my wife and daughter and had the good fortune of being there when local jazz vocalist, Charmin Michelle was performing in the lounge. The combination of a nice dinner, good cocktails and the music made for an enjoyable evening. I have found the Normandy Inn to be a pleasant departure from the sameness of many of the chain hotels. It is clean, comfortable, friendly, and has a number of amenities (such as a sauna, and live music) that are missing at most hotels. The restaurant is good (although the service is uneven at times) and the bar will happily depart from the cocktail menu to make something more bespoke. I would readily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Minneapolis.

Stayed here many times since I was a child and man was this trip terrible. Took the kids to see monster jam and got a king suite room. We pulled the sofa sleeper out for the kids as soon as we got there and started unpacking. The kids came running into our room asking what had fallen out of the sheets of their bed.. What was it? Two used condoms laying at the end of the sofa.. GROSS!! Clearly the sheet hadn't been changed or checked.. I sent the kids down to the pool area and called the front desk to send someone up asap.. The guy came up with a cleaning lady and was clearly as shocked as I was.. They left to get some gloves and keys to another room. He came back with new keys and a coupon for some free breakfast.. Yeah, the coupons were never used I can tell you that! We went to our show and basically checked everything before trying to get some sleep before our long drive home in the morning.. Really, free breakfast? Give me a break.. Clean your place up! ITS DISGUSTING!! I'll pay the same or even extra to stay somewhere else!

My wife and I stayed at the Normandy for one night and were impressed with the location, the ambiance, the service, and the coziness it offered in the heart of Minneapolis. The milk and cookies at 10:00 p.m. were a nice touch. They do it right!

Really nice visit. Stayed two nights for a Vikings game. Hotel is right in the middle of downtown and is in walking distance to a lot of great bars and restaurants. Really easy to get to using the light rail from the airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cool decor if you're into Bavarian themed stuff. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean, nice and cozy. Was surprised we had to pay for parking each day, which we were not aware of. However there is no street parking. Could get pricey if you're staying for a while. Didn't eat at the restaurant, but the menu had some nice selections.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We understand that you have many choices in Downtown Minneapolis. Currently our $10 fee is the most economical in downtown Minneapolis. Our hotel guest parking also allows for unlimited in and out privileges. There is ample street parking on 3 sides of the hotel. The regular rate is $2/ hour. I would advise against this during winter months when it snows as the city may declare a snow emergency and your vehicle could be towed away at your expense. We hope the next time you are in the area you will stay with us again.

This hotel is a great find in the downtown area. Parking is very convenient and inexpensive. The location is good and they have a shuttle to take you around the area. The staff is friendly and this hotel is great for families.

The normandy inn felt more like a ski lodge or hotel near the alps then middle of Minneapolis. Warm rich colors and pleasantly decorated for the holidays. We did try the restaurant but it smelled great. The suite was nice size only lacking a view. Shower was a highlight, unlike many where the shower is well it was a shower.

The hotel was attractive and clean. Service was excellent. It was so quiet I wondered if anyone else was there although the parking lot was full. The location was great for my needs. I could get to my daughters place Uptown in 12 minutes. No traffic. Nearby restaurants-Hells Kitchen was great and short walk from hotel.

Heating cooling wasnt working properly. Hotel was a bit noisy at night when sleeping. Other than these 2 problems the hotel room was spacious and the location was only a 7 minute walk to US Banks Stadium

I enjoyed staying at The Normandy Inn & Suites! The people were very nice. The place was clean and the food was great! The hotel is centrally located and not far from the railway to the airport, several restaurants even the conference I was going to each day. There was coffee by the front desk in the morning and even a fireplace!

I am rather baffled how this hotel has such a high rating. What others may view as “quaint” I view as old. It smelled musty. We had a king “suite” which was two rooms separated by a hallway. The sitting area was set up silly with the tv next to the “couch” which was very uncomfortable and looked like it was made in the 60s. When I am spending over $250 a night I would like some comfort. We went out for breakfast and came back to find a maid in our room on the phone. we came in and she tried to keep cleaning so I had to ask her to leave and to come back after we were checking out.... literally was cleaning the room while we were still in it. Sure the location is great. Right between some good food and US Bank stadium but I don't think I would stay again.

Has the charm of an old-fashioned inn but all modern amenities of a large chain hotel. Rooms are clean, restaurant and room service has full menu, staff is very friendly and accommodating. Located in a good area of the city, near the light rail. On site parking for an additional fee.

There with customers and very disappointed with entrees. Very heavy with a chef that seemed to overcook everything. $365 for 5 without wine and they didn't even comp the parking of $9 for 2 hours. Hard to find a lighter entree in the menu.

Our most expensive item on the menu is $39.00. The other entrees average $25.00. A great place to stay. We don't get downtown very often and they were so friendly and helpful. They offer shuttles to where you need to go, which was great since we don't know the area. The restaurant was exceptional. We had both dinner and breakfast in the morning. The food was very good! Would definitely recommend to stay here.

The location was fine. There was some construction that caused a distraction. Finding the entrance to the private parking lot was the worst part. I was forced to park in a parking ramp, wasting $10, until I was told how to find the private parking, which I had already paid $10 for. The hotel room, restaurant, and location (in relation to the Target Center) were all ideal and enjoyable.

rented a king suite with my wife got back to our room at 11pm went to bed smoke alarm goes off lasts 15 seconds just enough to wake us so we lay there saying what was that all about, we eventually go back to sleep and are awakened again at 3:30 by the smoke dectector that shrieking noise again it stops 15 seconds later. So we are laying there wondering if we should call the front desk. It stopped so we didnt really want to wait up for maintainence. So again we try to get back to sleep, of course we are woke up again at 6:15 am and it doesnt stop so we call the front desk. The guy comes up 15 minutes later and says I will replace the battery well that didnt do anything so both smoke detectors were going off. He then ripped the wires off the back off the detector and that stopped it, I asked him to please note what happened on our account. When I went to pay my bill the so-called manager on duty was a jerk. I asked him if he could adjust our bill due to our inconveinence. Our bill was 152.00 for the room and parking he said he could take off 30 dollars. It was bad enough we didnt get any sleep what would have happened if there was a fire and we have a faulty smoke detector. Anyway thats not how you take care of your customers. Dont recommend this hotel

I stayed here because I had tickets to see Gareth Emry at the Armory. I was in shock at the decor and ammenties the hotel offered. My entire stay was perfect. my room was a suite, which it looked exactly like that.

BW offered everything I needed. The staff, from check-in to check out were friendly, helpful, polite, and just so accommodating. If you needed any help or anything, they tried their best to help you out and make your stay the best possible.

I stayed at this hotel as an alternative to higher priced options for a convention at MSP convention center. The hotel is pretty close. You can access the skyway in a couple blocks if weather is bad. The hotel has a hot tub but it is not quite hot enough. There is no breakfast, but nearby options are good. Parking was $10 per day with unlimited in/out which seemed reasonable. Mattresses were about perfect in my book, not too firm.

After staying at The Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis many times for the past four years, I can attest to the fact that this hotel never disappoints. It has a welcoming crew at the front desk, clean and comfortable rooms with all expected amenities, and it offers a complimentary late night snack of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and milk to make you feel at home. The recently renovated restaurant has great ambience and offers a superb menu of dishes designed by the newly appointed Chef. I always look forward to dining here! Not only the food, but the wine list is extraordinary, too! The service on all levels is very polite and professional, and it is a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

Looking at the great reviews and affordable rates, me and my father decided to book at this hotel. We booked a 2 Queen bedroom in advance. At first we were impressed as it seemed we got upgraded for free as the room description said it didn't include a fridge, safe, microwave, and coffee pot, but it did. The first thing we noticed was a piece of hair left on our "clean" towels in the bathroom, then we were going to put something in the fridge and there was an old McDonalds cheeseburger wrapper in there. It was stuck to the back of the fridge, so I know housekeeping didn't check the fridge at all. Gross! On top of that, the menu left in the room said the restaurant closes at 10pm, but your website said bar and restaurant is open until 12 am. Not knowing for sure what time your kitchen closes, we headed down to the bar. We were disappointed we couldn't order food at 11pm, because your bartender said they just closed the kitchen. Which time is it? I would definitely have a word with housekeeping. We won't be staying here again.

It s a nice hotel and, it was close to where I needed to be for the training however, I've never had to put a $100 "deposit" on my card when checking in. Additionally, they charge you $10 per day to park your vehicle, never had to pay to park before either.

Older hotel that works hard to.stay up to date. The price is right and provides the best option for me to come back. I did not get a chance to eat any of the food, work hours did not permit me the opportunity to.

Stayed here for our 2nd time last night. Great staff, clean rooms, fun bar/restaurant. Had drinks in bar-extensive wine/liquor list! Free coffee in AM. Good breakfast with prompt service.Older property but very well cared for. We always recommend this place to friends!

I liked the room, room service and desk service. The only thing really disappointing was the pool.it was cold! Very cold compared to other hotels I've been at. The room was clean. Comfortable beds. Nice it was close to hospital we had to walk to.

I have always love The Normandy. The parking is wonderful for a busy downtown and the hotel is always so warm and embracing to me. We had a poolside room and enjoyed the clean and spacious area. Normandy also accepts dogs which is always a plus for me as I do travel with my dogs on a frequent basis.

Enjoyed a great stay here, room was pretty big and very comfortable! I had a view of the indoor pool area! Close to the convention center as well as the Armory. They serve warm cookies and milk in the evening. I would definitely stay again.

Clean but old hotel. In places it "smells" old. Convenient as it is close to many venues in the downtown Minneapolis area. Parking lot is woefully small and hard to navigate if you're in anything bigger than a mid-sized sedan. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Old school hotel with modern features. Lots of mojo at this hotel. Woodwork, design, layout are top notch. Great food in restaurant with excellent service. The 2 room suite was very comfortable and good value. Will go back again. Free parking with in/out privileges was very nice.

Conveniently located within easy walking distance of downtown attractions. Adjoining street level parking available for nominal fee. Pet friendly with only a small additional fee for pets. Friendly, helpful staff. Funky architecture is dated but has a certain nostalgic charm.

The hotel was clean and convenient to downtown activities. There were no major problems with the hotel/staff. The road was ripped up outside for replacement. This is outside of the hotel control. They made it easy for access through the construction.

Once you get in its ok...but checking in and out is a nightmare. Booked online thru booking.com. dont know if its them or the hotel...but 40 min later we still arent checked in although i received confirmation emailsfrom the hotel etc. We have stayed here many times because of the location to the target field and the metrodome...every time checking in and out is an issue.... rooms are ok for the $.

I can understand your frustration with regards to your check in experience. While I am not exactly sure what happened, I am aware that many times when a third party is used some of the information does not get submitted to the hotel fully which requires us to contact that company. I would like to look further into this matter. Would you please call the hotel and ask for the Director of sales.

Nice room with good seating. Luggage carts were available and convenient to parking. The negative for the room was there was only one outlet near the beds so we had to unplug the clock and use a power strip to use CPAPs at night. The hotel design and history were interesting. The restaurant was convenient, but pricey.

The hotel is an old one but quite well kept. The rooms are spacious, toilets are clean, with all amenities provided. I loved the fact, there's a jug in the room and you could just use the water dispenser to refill, instead of using plastic bottles. The check out was very hassle free. The attached restaurant is really good too. I wish they could provide a shuttle to the light rail station though.

Nice location in Mpls. Onsite parking, clean comfortable rooms. A charming hotel. Slept great. Will stay there again but next time not for business so we can enjoy the hotel more and the area around it.

I visited Minnapolis- St Paul on a solo craft beer trip from Sydney Australia. I've always travelled with a partner before this trip, so the silence in the hotel room can be a bit lonesome. The staff more than made up for it, as they were very friendly, & I had good conversations with a number of them. The rooms are very comfortable, & the hotel is located 2 blocks from the train to the airport, & a few blocks from Nicollet Mall, which is where some good bars & restaurants are. I highly recommend this hotel, whether solo, couples, or families!

I was pleasantly surprised by this Best Western, it had a lot more character than I expected. The staff were very pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The room was clean, quiet and spacious, despite the construction going on all around the hotel. Location is fairly central so I did not need to go far for food etc. The restaurant was excellent with a very cozy bar. Pool clean, if a little chilly at first, but the hot-tub was very welcome afterwards. Unexpected sauna, which I didn't use, but it was there! I especially liked the water dispenser next to the ice, with a pitcher in one's room, as I dislike using bottled water - well done Best Western.

He was super friendly, funny, and very welcoming as soon as we rounded the corner to check in. To bad we only got to see him once, but once to make a very good first impression. He wore a suit for a great appearance and it stuck great for us!

This is one of the better hotels we have stayed at. Check in was fast. Food was excellent. All staff were helpful and service was great. Staff answered any questions we had and made recommendations as to places to visit. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our room was clean and comfortable - but one thing that bothered us was how the air conditioner controls were set. The room would get very warm until the air conditioner came on and then when the air conditioner did come on you would freeze. No amount of adjustments seemed to help. The hotel, though, is located in a convenient spot in Minneapolis allowing us to walk to a variety of restaurants and some sites.

We will definitely come back. This is a very kid friendly place. The shuttle to the mall of America was very easy to use. The gentleman that was driving was very friendly. The only downfall was that the 4 different housekeepers I tried to talk to didn't speak english. Everyone was super friendly.

Nice, clean, and comfortable rooms, great food at the adjoining restaurant and always very professional and helpful staff. Ease of parking and also close to downtown activities are additional benefits. I always stay at this hotel when traveling to Minneapolis! Mark B. Colorado

The hotel provides hospital rates and shuttles to/from medical appointments to the local University of Minnesota clinics and hospitals - a necessity when traveling in from other parts of the country/world for medical reasons.. As soon as we drove up to the hotel we fell in love. The hotel looked like a cozy place that didn't belong in a city. The interior was warm and so clean. The staff went above and beyond what they needed to do. They recommended places to eat and helped us get around. I wish I remembered names but there was a gentlemen who was Spanish - who was so fantastic and helpful. He worked mainly in the afternoon/evening hours. All the girls were helpful as well. There was a gentlemen who sternly told my husband and I that the shuttle bus wouldn't be able to take us anywhere besides the convention center or the hospital but the day before someone told us they would take us downtown Minneapolis. That didn't deter us from going to the Target field to have fun. I love this place and I would stay here again for sure. They have a great pool and hot tub area as well.

Room was very good, staff at check in/out were fast and efficient but they did not inform me of an extra cost that is refunded until I called two days later. Parking can be a challenge if there are events going on at the stadiums nearby. Street out front was closed for construction. I would suggest the motel send out an email advising incoming guests on how to find the correct entrance.

We decided to have a stay over in Downtown Minneapolis. We arrived right at 3:00, lots of guests checking in, but the staff was calm, polite, worked efficiently. From the minute I secured my reservation on their website, I rec'd an email with our information. Early on the day of our arrival, we were sent an email for check-in, so when I stepped up to the desk, it was very quick and the staff person who helped me was great. Our room was wonderful. We had upgraded to a suite - worth the $$. We walked the eight blocks to the Twins game and had a bite out on the way! The room was clean, coffee maker in room, great shower, slept so well - we both slept in until 8:30!!! What? We are normally up by 6! Quiet and great room darkening shades! Will definitely stay again!

The location is excellent for US Bank or The Armory events. In addition to the on-site bar and restaurant, there is a great brewery and pizza spot (different businesses) across the street. The pool area is spacious and feels "outdoor". An all around great bargain.

It was okay for one night but I am not sure if I would have wanted to stay longer. Construction around the hotel made getting there a nightmare. It would have been nice if the front desk had been more accommodating with my request for a late check-out.

The city is redoing the streets and sidewalks that surround the hotel. This project should be completed by Fall of 2019. From what we can tell they are going to add in many green spaces along the street. We do our best with accommodating late check out requests. We guarantee our rooms will be ready for check in by 3 PM. As you can imagine with some of our specialty room types, it is very difficult to give a guest a late check out and then make sure that room is ready for the next guest.

We had tickets to Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles and this was a really great hotel option. Nice, smaller, not a big time hotel. Just really nice. Friendly staff and very close to everything downtown. Some of the rooms are updated and some are a bit older. We had an updated room and everything was nice. Onsite parking is a big plus.

On our way home we stopped in Minneapolis for a night & stayed here. Kids loved the pool. We made sure to eat dinner before arriving because there isn't much in the way of dining (except the hotel's restaurant) nearby (that we could find) that would be open on a Sunday night. We were able to find great breakfast places to go in the morning though. Kids appreciated cookies & milk at 10pm. It is not your standard cookie-cutter hotel lobby and entrance area which is a nice change. Rooms were fine, clean and updated. Minimal noise from hallway even with a large youth group staying in the same floor as us. We'd stay again if ever in downtown Minneapolis.

One of our many attributes is that we do not look like any other Best Western or any other hotel for that matter. We believe our guests find it refreshing to not be in a cookie cutter hotel. Depending on the time of arrival on Sunday night you may have found a few restaurants open downtown. We certainly would have offered menus of places that deliver. We are glad to see that you enjoyed your stay. We hope that you will stay with us next time you are in the area.

We stayed at the best western Normandy in Minneapolis because they had a so called ‘courtesy' bus that takes u and picks you up. We went to 3 games and it took the bus 50 minutes to pick us and another couple up. We called the hotel twice and so did the other couple all 4 times they said she was on her way. The second time we called they said she was stuck in traffic. We told them there was no traffic it was in the top of the 7th inning so it wasn't like the game was close to being over. Finally she came at 10;55 pm. We called at 10:10pm. Both nights. It took us less than 5 minutes for her to get us back to the hotel. JUST NOT RIGHT TO LIE TO PEOPLE And SAY YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY WHEN YOU ARE NOT. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! The third night we saw someone waiting for the bus. They said they called and the bus was on the way. We called an Uber. When we got to the hotel the bus was still there.

I find part of your review troublesome. I have had the opportunity to follow up with my night staff. I have asked them to do a much better job with, knowing where the shuttle is, so we can give our guests a better idea of pick up times. We do have a drop off daily around 10.15 pm. We hope that you will give us another try to get it right. This is not the normal level of service for us. Please consider staying with us next time you are in the area.

Stayed her for 4 nights in July. Walking distance to many of the attractions including Target Field, US Bank Stadium, Nicollet Mall,, Guthrie Theater and the light rail. Many bars and eating establishments are near by. Check in was easy and pool area is nice. Since the rooms are only on three floors there is not a problem waiting for an elevator.

We enjoy the family friendly pool area for the kids at the Normandy. Our kids always look forward to the warm cookies and milk at 10. The one thing that would be better is if a breakfast was offered. Great location in downtown!!

The staff were excellent. Any issues that came up they would resolve immediately. The location was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Minneapolis. The only challenge was the fact that there are 3 separate buildings and we had people in building C (I was in A) that could only use the stairs if they were unlocked.

This is a quirky property. The entrance is a labyrinth with display cases with mementoes, a white grand piano in one area, and a very unique vibe. The desk staff are lovely and super efficient compared to others we'd encountered on our cross country road trip! They were sure to mention the cookies and milk at 10 pm and arranged our $10 parking fee (this fee does irritate me FYI. Can't hotels quit gouging us for everything! ) The room was adequate and we did not have a strange smell in the room. Actually the carpet in the corridor smelled new. Our rate included breakfast which was freshly cooked in the restaurant. Our server was delightful. The hotel is surrounded by roads that are being majorly reworked. Literally the building shakes when they start work and the floor resonates. There's some traffic noise at night but the AC helped drown it out.

We installed new carpet in March of 2019. It great to know that you chose our Bed and Breakfast package and that you enjoyed the food and the service. The city currently has a construction project that is set to be completed by fall of 2019. The streets will be beautiful and tree lined. We hope that you will stay with us next time you are in Downtown Minneapolis.

Hotel is clean but has an old carpet smell. Rooms very small and do not have good sound proofing. Bathroom is very small. Beds are small doubles and old and creaky. Air conditioning system is very noisy. You can hear the inconsiderate guests in all areas and especially out in the pool area till late at night. Each night stayed had lots of people in pool till at least 11pm. Not a great area as everything a good few blocks away. There is no store nearby to buy last minute juice or water. Be warned there are HUGE roadworks going on all round the hotel grounds. Also lots of building construction works in area too. So we felt this hotel was very noisy between other guests and outside works. All pavements and roads covered in sand and dirt so you get really dirty walking in/out hotel. I wouldn't recommend as we found overpriced for condition.

We greatly appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review of your stay. It is unfortunate that you found your accommodation to be rather small. We do have rooms with 2 Queen sized beds in them and they also do not connect to the pool area. On Fridays and Saturdays our pool is open until 11 pm. The first convenient store is 1 block away from the hotel, the next is 3 blocks away both are open until 10 pm. The city of Minneapolis is working on redesigning the streets around the hotel. This project should be completed by fall of 2019. We hope to be of service to you next time you are in Minneapolis. We will make sure to get you a room with 2 Queen beds and away from our pool area.

A family of 3, we spent 2 nights here before heading off on a road trip. Our room (2 double beds) was fine, but we could really have done with queen beds. A bit squeezy. The restaurant was great...James really looked after us and made some great recommendations. The Hanger steak was unreal. We ate there both nights...and the steak was chosen both times. The only drawback was the roadworks right outside the hotel, which sort of detracted from the overall look, nut than not the hotel's fault. If we ever come back to Minneapolis we will definitely stay here again.

I believe they were all taken for a large youth conference with 22,000 attendees during your stay. I will make sure to let James know you greatly appreciated his service and recommendations. We stayed for 2 nights in July. The hotel is older/historic, but clean and well kept. The room was comfortable...nice towels and water pressure. The beds were a tad soft for our preference. We were able to walk to Mill Ruin park and across the Stone Arch Bridge. The hotel is also walkable to many restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the Nicolett Mall area. Although breakfast in not included, you can get breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. It was very good and not too expensive, in our opinion! We would stay here again.

US Taekwondo Championship. Stay was outstanding and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel. Was in walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Very quiet and no issues with any of the surrounding areas.

Perfect location downtown with quick access to Nicolet Mall and the light rail. Parking is so easy and reasonably priced compared to other downtown hotels. Love the 10pm milk and cookies-what a charming touch! Restaurant on site is a bit pricey but the food is good. Will definitely stay here again.

Be prepared to wait for the night clerk to let you back in after hours, if he is busy you may not get back in when you want! You have to be buzzed in after you show the clerk your card, never in my many hotel stays have I ever seen this type of set up.

I was on a business trip to Minnesota, but arrived a day early in order to explore Minneapolis and attend a Twins game. As is typical in large cities, most downtown hotels seemed overpriced (way beyond my budget) or were cheap (but nasty). The Normandy Inn hit all the right buttons. Reasonable priced, great location to walk everywhere downtown, updated and clean rooms, and friendly staff. This inn is old, but the inside has been renovated while keeping the "old world" charm. I really enjoyed my stay...the room was clean and modern, the bed was comfy, I had a fridge, and plenty of fresh/clean water thanks to their water filtration system set up by the ice maker. The front desk was helpful in showing me how to get around the city to major attractions. And, while I walked, they have a shuttle service to and from the Twins Stadium. I would definitely stay again!

We chose this hotel based off the pictures of it's unique atmosphere. Check-in was smooth and the hotel was clean throughout. They have a parking lot available for $10 which is nice due to the location of this hotel. It is located right in the heart of downtown and you can walk to endless bars/restaurants/entertainment. Nice pool/hot tub area. We didn't eat in the lounge/restaurant, but we did have some drinks, which were good and the staff was friendly. You also get fresh milk and cookies at 10pm :)

For a downtown hotel with its OWN car park ( 10 dollars a night ) you cannot go wrong. Very close to both stadiums-walking distance. Dont forget your swimming costume as its got its own indoor pool . Stayed here to go on a pilgrimage to prince . Central location . Enjoy

Came in for game at Target Field. We travel with our dog and this property is pet friendly. Parking onsite for a small fee. Offered shuttle service to stadium but we chose to walk to and from. Took about 15-20 minutes on foot. Thought decor throughout property dark and gloomy and aged. Rooms were clean but decor not very inviting. Property was very eco-friendly. We would stay here again.

This hotel is fantastic. It is right downtown and very close to both Target Field and US Bank Arena. The staff is so nice and made our stay wonderful. They provide shuttles to the sports arenas and set up a car service for us to go to the airport. Really nice people in a fun quaint hotel!

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Best Western Normandy Inn - a very nice hotel in a great location. It's an easy walk to Nicolett Mall with lots of shopping and great restaurants. The hotel has a very nice bar and restaurant as well. We enjoyed the pool and spa area. Our room was clean and spacious with a very comfy king bed. We did have 2 nights with a malfunctioning AC unit. It was finally replaced on the 3rd day and the GM graciously comped one night of our stay. Parking is only $10 per day, very reasonable for the heart of the city! Overall, highly recommend this hotel

In case of road construction, call ahead to find out! We were not aware of the road construction in the front of the Hotel, and not being from the area, we were confused as to where to park to check in. It meant a few times around the block to find a street parking place until we got checked in .

We drove to Minneapolis because we'd never been there and wanted a road trip from Chicago. We chose this hotel for its location close to restaurants and being fairly centrally located. It's walking distance to Nicolet Mall area, famous for dining, and the neighborhood feels safe. The hotel lobby and hallways seem a bit dated, but the room was fantastic, with a comfy bed, and the bathroom had been renovated and was quite surprising. If you travel during June 2019, you may experience road construction in front of the hotel, and further down on 8th Street. It was rather noisy (jackhammers, etc.) The hotel has an indoor pool that guests enjoyed - there was always someone in the pool. For $10 a day parking, we could come and go with the car, and that was nice. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Great overall location for getting around Minneapolis. Large room, good prices and friendly staff. Easy access to campus for visiting. Loved the breakfasts, especially the French toast, in the restaurant.

I stayed at the Best Western overnight for a concert and had an excellent experience. I took advantage of the pool area and was very impressed by the overall layout. I'll most definitely be back soon!

Great hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Great staff that is attentive to guests needs. Easy in and out parking. Close to everything the city has to offer at a reasonable rate. Definitely will stay there again.

Friendly people, nice room and a reasonable location; however, the TV was terrible. They have DirecTV and it was GOT Finale night. It just kept cutting out and losing signal. It was terrible and the rest of my 3 night stay was little better..

While we are happy to know that your overall stay was good. We understand wanting to be able to relax in your hotel room and watch Game of Thrones. We are sorry that our satellite system was not working properly. If memory serves the weather was less than ideal and as you know storms and weather will cause satellite to go in and out. I have stayed at Best Westerns quite a bit. So, we chose to stay at this location in downtown Minneapolis. It's not a high-rise hotel like some that dominate the Minneapolis skyline. The lobby is clean and presentable. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. My only gripe really, is that they did not offer the free continental breakfast like what is typically offered at Best Western Plus hotels. I had to actually pay for breakfast. The food was delicious, but I was not expecting to have to actually pay extra for it. Still, the room was neat and clean. The hot tub was nice as well. It was very conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis. I highly recommend this hotel.

The very pleasant indoor pool, spa, and sauna were great place to recover from the chilly weather and unwind, if you have kids or don't mind being around kids. The on-site self parking was a good deal for downtown. Half a block from a skyway entrance in the 701 building.

This Best Western property is amazing. It is so unique and beautiful. Check-in with Daniel was quick and he was very helpful with mapping out my stay in the area. I had a room on the first floor; next to pool. The pool area is great with a hot tub and some patio seating. It was nice to be able to just open the patio door and have that so accessible. They serve milk and cookies in the lobby at 10 every night. The rooms are very clean and it was the softest mattress! Rooms are Very clean and modern even though the overall atmosphere is older dutch-like. Easy walk to the Twins game. They have a van that will drop off/pick up for free as well. I could probably tell you a hundred more things I liked. You won't regret your stay!

Relatively new rooms with fridge and coffee machine. Good central location and great parking. There is a target with some groceries within 2 blocks and within walking distance to baseball field and theatres. So for what it is it's 5 stars

I stayed at hotel on a Friday night for an event at US Bank Stadium. I felt safe walking to US Bank (daylight) from hotel and back (dark) but we were with quite a crowd of people. The hotel was clean, rooms were clean. Shades on 3 windows in rooms kept rooms dark. Surface Parking is available on site but the lot is SMALL. We were lucky to find a spot but I'm sure many that stayed did not. I do not know if they have alternate location for guest parking.

Stayed here 2 nights. Arrived before checkin but front desk found me a room. Great because I needed the extra sleep from an early flight. Love that it only has 4 floors- much safer than a high-rise. Lovely decor and very helpful staff. Loved the shuttle to the convention center there and back. Ate at the restaurant for all meals. Yes it's a bit pricey, but the food is very good. The French sauces are gourmet and the pastry chef had some wonderful creations. Rooms are nicely sized and comfortable. Didn't use any of the amenities like the pool or workout room, I just relaxed, watched TV and was generally lazy. Just wonderful service and accommodations. I would definitely stay here again. Very central to the heart of downtown.

This hotel is in downtown Minneapolis. We had a one bedroom suite, which was very nicely furnished. Parking is available in a lot behind the hotel for a much more reasonable rate that offered by competitors.

I stayed at this property due to a recommendation by the conference head I was attending. The parking was extremely frustrating with all the one way traffic and only one entrance in the lot, but once I got checked in and settled, I enjoyed the warmness of the hotel and the feel of being in another country. It is a unique hotel...I was quite impressed. I will definitely choose this venue again in the future.

I come to Minneapolis on business a few times a year. I always stay here due to the comfortable and clean rooms. Even though it's usually very busy it's always clean and I find it a great quiet hotel to wind down in after a long day of work or travel. The only complaint I have is the hot water takes a really long time to get hot . On this occasion the ice maker wasn't working but they were quick to respond. I think they definitely could improve the food in the restaurant. Breakfasts are amazing, however the room service and dinner menu is not great and honestly overpriced for the quality and portions. The service was good and quick but the menu needs a revamp. Love the fruit water in the lobby. Love the warm cookies and milk at 10pm every night. They have a great pool, hot tub and gym area. Love the central location but would not recommend walking around Alone at night as a women as I felt a little unsafe with the area, but absolutely fine during the day. The front desk staff could work on being more friendly but this will not keep me from returning. Loads of parking if you choose to drive. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well as an incredible flagship target store within walking distance , great for picking up snacks and inexpensive wine or spirits. With just a few small tweaks could be a Five star for sure !

Friends of mine suggested that my sister and I stay here while in Minneapolis for my sisters appt. I was impressed with this hotel. My sisters appointment was only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The room was quiet and very comfortable and the staff was very friendly as well.

Beth, it is great you know that you hade a wonderful first stay with us. We hope that you will make us your home when you are in Minneapolis.

We needed to stay at a hotel close to Abbott Northwestern Hospital due to the weather. This hotel is only 1.3 miles from the hospital. So if you need a place that is close, this is a good spot to stay. It is a very spacious, historic looking hotel with lots of charm. The room was large and comfortable. Everyone was nice and helpful. We paid $10 for parking which was right next to the door. Most of the parking is not covered but if you get lucky there are a few covered spots. We also had some drinks at the Normandy Kitchen in the evening. Earlier in the day I also had lunch there (chicken club and fries) which was just ok. The bartender Ross was accommodating and helpful. By chance we also had an opportunity to meet the owner Mike and had a nice visit with him, he is wonderful. The only downfall of the hotel I can think of is they do not let us pre-order room service so we were unable to have our coffee and breakfast delivered early in the morning. When we called down to the kitchen they said they did not open until 7 a.m. They do have free coffee in the lobby, so we made that work. Overall, if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay downtown that isn't too fancy, then you should stay here. I would like to come back for another visit again for pleasure not medical. This hotel has a long history and has atmosphere. The suites on second floor have updated halls. Restaurant serves a French flairé which some may not be interested in but the desserts are amazing. Location and walkable to all theatres shows and sports venues.

This hotel is really good value and great overall experience. The staff was helpful, the room was comfortable, the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was lovely, with a great staff and good atmosphere. I would return.

We scheduled our trip to Minneapolis for spring break to visit the city and friends there and to give our kids (ages 8 and 4) a chance to go swimming in a pool. When we initially got there, we were put in a room right by the elevator with a view of another wall of the hotel. They kindly moved us to a better room which had a view of the street and away from the elevator. The room was fine and suited our needs for this trip, but the issues came up with the pool being closed for 2 and a half days straight during spring break. The first pool closure (Sunday) was because someone dueced in the pool, so it had to be closed or 24 hours. I get that you need to close it to clean it. However, the hotel then put up a sign that the pool would be closed the whole day on Monday as well due to scheduled maintenance. When I went to the front desk to ask about this, they said, "Well, it must have been scheduled after you booked your room otherwise we would have told you." Well, they could have told us when we checked in 2 days earlier so that we didn't unload our stuff and get settled in. When we book a hotel room with our kids, we look at if it has two rooms and how the pool is so that the kids can use it. This pool looked great and we were able to use it the first night, but having it shut down for most of our trip defeated the purpose of us staying there. Our only compensation initially was "Well, we won't charge you if you need to cancel your reservation and go to another hotel." We had already unpacked and had plans...we're not going to waste our time doing that. Finally on our last day (Tuesday), the pool still was not open in the morning, so the front desk offered a free breakfast and a late checkout. By the time we finished breakfast the pool was opened up. We had it to ourselves, but the chlorine levels were so high that we ruined two swim suits and we all got chemical burns from being the first ones in the pool. Kids still had fun, but we would have liked to have more pool time. In hindsight, I wish we had stayed at the Embassy Suites due to the pool issue and the location of that hotel. We had to walk about a half hour to get to Pizza Luce the first night and on the way back our kids got some experience in being drug deals and ladies of the night. There isn't much to eat in the vicinity of the hotel, so be ready to walk to get there.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with such candid feedback of your stay. All your comments are essential to educating our staff about service. I know that you had worked with our Patty Ruddy, our General Manager on the date of your departure and have since be in communication with Patty. As I understand Patty did refund for one night. As for the pool ruining your swim suites, we are not sure how that could have happened as the city inspectors had inspected the pool and its chemical level just before you went to the pool.

Drove down from Canada for NBA game, only stayed one night but hotel was very nice. Vintage look and feel, seemed very large. Unfortunately for us we didn't stay long enough to fully check it out. Check in was easy and Daniel was awesome. Gave great directions on how to get to parking entrance. Parking was only $10 a night, very cheap for downtown rates. Large lot. Easy in and out. Our room was very large. Layout was a touch awkward but still very nice. Bedroom separate from living space and bar/ kitchen area. Only issue was no luggage rack. Bed very comfortable but pillows were small and went flat after about 30 seconds of laying on them. Bedroom had 2 windows but for some reason only one window had blackout curtains so it was quite bright. Room was very quiet which was great. Water pressure was awesome in the shower. Osmosis water next to the ice machine was a nice perk. No issues with WiFi, worked great for us. TV was satellite so there was a decent amount of channels however it kept cutting out. We think it was because the cable was spliced between the tv in the bedroom and the one in the separate living area. Staff was great, all very friendly. Overall very nice stay.

I am sorry that your room did not have a luggage rack, I wish we had known as we would have provided you with a luggage rack. I believe I know which room you stayed in so I will have our maintenance staff look at the both televisions and their connections in the suite and also check for black out shade as all windows are to have a black out shade. The staff is courteous & clearly enjoy their jobs & the people they work with.Sure, there may have been a couple mistakes, but they corrected it quickly. The rooms were very clean, the decor beautiful, we enjoyed our 3 days there.

We were there for medical appointment. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had the shuttle service that took us to and from my appointment which took pressure off of us. Breakfast was delicious.

Bed was awesome, very comfortable. Restaurant overpriced and not much of a selection. They had a free shuttle to Target Center (which was the main reason I chose this hotel) but it didn't state that it would only take us there but not pick us up after our concert. (you have to call by 10:15pm in order to get back). Was easy enough to get to but not really any places to eat close by.

My daughter and I stay at this hotel several times a year for dance conventions and competitions. I love the location, easy to park and walk to just about anywhere. The rates on rooms are much more affordable then the other downtown hotels and I feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck. Staff are always friendly and they have a nice pool area. The only thing that I would suggest is ordering food in or walking somewhere for food as the attached restaurant is not the best option for food. The bar area is nice and drinks are good, staff have always been great but the food quality is a little lacking. Overall I would pick this hotel for a downtown staff any day of the week.

The Best Western Normandy inn Has spacious very clean rooms. This locations has a pool and hot tub area. The staff is always friendly and willing to help out with a smile. Very knowledgable about the area too. No free breakfast but the Fresh Baked Chocolate Chip cookies and milk at 10:00 almost make up for it. The parking rate is also one of the most reasonable in the downtown area as most hotels charge $20-$30.

My family and I stayed on the night of NYE, we were in town for a hockey game. I gave the extremely loud people staying below us a couple hours to party it up because of the holiday. By 2am when two girls starting singing horribly "my milkshake brings the boys to the yard...." I couldn't stand it any more and I called security. They were quick to answer and get my story and right after I told them what was going they left my room and they were downstairs and got the people to quiet down. I appreciate the swiftness that they responded and I want to thank them for allowing me to get at least a couple hours sleep before we had to leave. The bad things were that it was freezing in the room during the night and my kids told me that the sofa couch was really uncomfortable.

Here for an NBA game. Convenient location to the Target Center and shopping. Comfortable bed. Super quiet and spotless rooms. The off-street parking for $10/night is a steal. Great front desk staff. Five gold stars from me.

My hubby and I just had a great overnight stay at the Normandy. Getting there was easier than we expected (driving in large cities isnt our forte lol). Check in was easy and quick. I had reserved a king room but we were given a 2Q because they are refurbishing the king rooms. Slightly disappointed that we weren't notified ahead of time but overall not a big deal. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Loved the small things like the real glass barware in the rooms and a the menu guide for the tv. (Iknow its silly but not having one is frustrating). We were there for an event at the Target Center and the time we were there the wind chill was -30 so the shuttle was a life-saver!! It is easly walkable and if the weather was nicer we definitely would've taken advantage of it and all the great shops, restaurants and activities of the area. We will definitely be staying there again if we ever find ourselves downtown Mpls again

After staying in several hotels in the Minneapolis area I found the Normandy to be a great value for a quality hotel with an interesting history. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They have a clean indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. I enjoyed a nice dinner at the restaurant. The location downtown allows you to walk to many local attractions. The only complaint I can come up with is the paid parking. You can park out on the street without paying but to be inside the gate it is paid parking.

Chuck it is great to know that overall you had a great stay and found our location to be convenient. You are correct in that you can park on the street but that cost is $1.50/ hour and you are not guaranteed to find a parking spot. We charge hotel guests $10/ night with in and out privileges. We offer the most economical hotel guest parking in downtown Minneapolis. I hope that you will consider staying with us again next time you are in downtown Minneapolis.

We had a phenomenal time at the Normandy this past weekend. After gosh a shall family event a could years ago it has been one of my top favorites among hotels in Minneapolis. I will absolutely stay here againand my guests said the same. We enjoy a very delicious fun-filled meal in their restaurant with a fabulous server named Chad. Chad took care of all of our needs, gave us lots of warm bread, dessert recommendations, and a personally guided tour of some historic areas. He was very accommodating, a joy to be around, and the true MVP of our night. I can't wait to go back.

Stayed at this facility for 3 nights when we went to the game. Staff were very good and very helpful. Gave directions and recommend places to eat. On site parking for a fee. Most places within walking distance of motel. Would recommend it to anyone else.

Normandy Inn pool side was great for our Christmas gathering. Personally, I don't appreciate pet friendly properties. Especially pet owners who seem to feel that you appreciate their animals sniffing at you.

I stay at The Normandy because the decor makes me feel like I'm a princess in a castle. The Kitchen is Excellent! Great Brut Rose' The hot tub and pool are often shared with local Minnesota Nice families & Viking fans. GOOD TIMES!

Greatest asset is proximity to football stadium, downtown and light rail. It is however a bit isolated; everything is at least 3 blocks walk. This is our second time here and it is still very nice. For my taste, the age and decor are a little strange. No shuttle to airport. Would absolutely stay here again.

I was traveling with my family (husband, 4 year old and 2 year old) for business and the stay at the hotel was great!! The staff was amazing, especially at check-in when my preauthorization hadn't come through yet. They were so incredibly helpful and, when our son broke a plate in the restaurant during breakfast, they were so nice about cleaning it up and not making me feel guilty about breaking the plate!! We had a pool side room and there was no chlorine smell from the pool! Clean room and wonderful staff!

We recently had a great stay at this hotel. Stayed here for a Vikings game as it's just a short walk to US Bank Stadium. Room was very large with comfortable beds. Staff at the front desk were really helpful and friendly. We were very happy with the reasonable parking rate at $10 per day. That is a really good rate for downtown! Bar/restaurant in the hotel had good food and service. Everything was great during our stay and we will definitely be using this hotel in the future!

This hotel was just fabulous. Prices were pretty reasonable. It was close to so many attractions, stores, downtown, etc. I liked the security they had in place. The service was just fantastic. From check-in to check-out, I couldn't have asked for better. Very impressed and satisfied. A definite place to stay.

Like the title says Do Not book with the Agoda site, I selected the option to pay for breakfast in advance at a cheaper rate. Fine and dandy I saved a few bucks for my group but here is the thing I never got those breakfasts I paid for, apparently the site charges you for them but doesn't pay the hotel for them. So you will basically give the booking site Agoda $10 per person if you choose to pre-pay for breakfast and you will still have to pay for it. I was charged different charges which the staff quickly reversed so a shout out to the staff! The rooms were nice, in room 263 the drain was very slow in the shower. The beds were fine and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's nicely located walking distance to the Vikings Stadium and parking is included. I will stay here again but I will call and book my room and not use the online site. Thanks again to the staff for getting the extra charges straightened out so fast.

I know that sometimes it can be frustrating when making reservations through a third party. In the event you will be attending any other Vikings games please contact the hotel and speak with the Director of Sales or General Manger and they will make sure your reservation is accurate. We will also have our staff take a look at the tub drain.

COMFORTABLE Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and US Bank stadium. Suite had plenty of room but air conditioning did not work well. Everything else was good. Pool and hottub. Would stay again.

Bed was not comfortable (although I have slept in worse); room was clean; HVAC worked great; good working alarm/clock/iPad dock; restaurant is very expensive and the food made me sick; staff is very polite and helpful.

I have stayed here for the past 4 years for business. Always friendly staff and the bar is great! It is within walking distance to shopping and other restaurants. The popovers and french fries are a must-have!

Stayed at the Best Western in Downtown Minneapolis on my latest road trip. It is a bit more pricey and you do have to pay for parking, but it is within walking distance to a lot of attractions. There are numerous restaurants nearby that gives you lots of options. An added bonus is that you are only a half block away from the Skywalk. The hotel itself was spacious and clean. The staff at the front desk were great as usual. As a Best Western rewards member I always stay at a Best Western where ever possible, and I have always found the service very, very good. The cleaning staff at the Normandy was also very good. My room was cleaned every day and they would always say hello if I passed them in the hallway. I found my room very quiet both from outdoor and indoor noises. My room was quite spacious and my kingsize bed was comfortable. I had no problems with the Wi-Fi. One night I got lazy and ordered room service The food did not take long and came hot. Both the Steak Frites (med-rare) and French Onion Soup were excellent. I always save room for the Chocolate Mousse which among the very best I have had. If I make another road trip to Minneapolis (still lots of Triple D restaurants to try) I will stay at the Best Western Plus Normandy Inn and Suites.

Great place to stay. Just a few minute walk to Nicolet Mall and the light rail station. There is a nice restaurant/ bar right in the hotel that offers great meals at good prices. The hotel is also close enough to walk to the Minnesota Vikings stadium. The staff is awesome and will go out of there way to help make your stay one to remember.

So as a weary road warrior on my second hotel that week, I checked in and was told delivery can't come up to my room...SIGH. So I ordered room service, not expecting a lot. BEST meatloaf I have ever had. The spinach was not perceptible, and the flavor of the sauce and mushroom was great. Good homemade mashed, with lumps. Great room, great service, pleasant people all around.

We stayed here a couple of nights for the Medronic Marathon. It is within walking distance of the starting line and we rode the Metro back from St. Paul where the race finished. The hotel has an excellent workout room and pool. It is close to the Metro station and US Bank stadium (where the Vikings play). The Metro takes you to the airport and Mall of America for $2! The rooms were clean and up-to-date. The hotel is old so you may encounter "rustic smells" but we did not mind.

It's always a pleasure to get more than you pay for, and that was certainly the case here. When we booked our four-day stay at the Best Western Plus the Normandy Inn & Suites in Minneapolis it was at a price I'd expect to pay for a Holiday Inn in a big city. Upon arriving I quickly realized that this hotel is much higher on the amenities scale – not luxurious, but decidedly upscale. I particularly liked the décor, which harkens to a day when much more attention was paid to style and eye-pleasing touches. Also very much appreciated were the spaciousness of the common areas, the abundance of quiet places to sit and read or chat, and the professionalism of the staff. Parking in the gate-guarded hotel lot is convenient and the $10 a day charge, with unlimited in/out, is very reasonable. Our room #363 was super-quiet and very comfortable, lacking only a microwave. The shower deserves special mention, since the spray is one of the best we've ever encountered. There was no extra charge for the safe. Room service was just fine. I'll book a stay at this hotel the next time I need lodging in Minneapolis.

I stayed here for two nights last week while in MSP for work. I picked this hotel based on TA and Hotels.com reviews & pricing, plus the convenient location (I usually stay in this part of the city). I enjoyed my brief stay, the common areas were clean, including the fairly well-appointed fitness center. My room was spacious enough, and the bathroom had enough room in both sink and shower area, although my view was of neighboring buildings. I had some initial confusion since the hotel is split between 2 wings, and I went up the wrong elevator and had to backtrack to the lobby late at night. I didn't eat in the adjoining restaurant for breakfast or anything, so can't comment there.

This hotel is about 5 blocks from main Downtown area, and close to the main sporting stadiums. We had a King room which was located on 4th floor. The room was a good size with desk and chair, an easy chair with foot stool, large tv, small fridge and safe. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Check in staff were friendly and efficient. There is on site parking at 10 dollars per day and you can come and go as much as you want. There is also reasonable sized pool and hot tub. If driving there is quick access onto the main routes and Interstate Highways. Nice touch is cookies and milk in the lobby at 10pm every night

We requested a quiet room and overall was very quiet. Excellent location for both Vikings game and Twins games. Everything is close by and can even walk in the Sky Bridge to get their. Easy access to Blue Line to take to and from airport and to Mall of America. We checked out at 8:30 on 9/13/18 and when We arrived at the airport at 9:00 I realized I had left FOUR diamond rings in a glass by the bed. I immediately called the hotel and was put on hold while they checked with housekeeping who said they had the rings! We took Uber round trip to the hotel and picked up my rings and made our flight. Thanks you for being a hotel of integrity and definitely a hotel you can trust!

3 nights from Friday to Monday. Visited for the Vikings game. Four of us stayed in a 2-Queen Room. Check-in was easy, as was check-out. Wifi worked great. Location is amazing! 15 minute walk max to US Bank Stadium. Train is close nearby as well. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Housekeeping did a good job each day (envelopes should be left in the room to tip?). The beds were some of the most comfortable we've slept on! The pool, hot tub and sauna area were impressive and we visited several times. Milk and cookies are a lovely touch every night at 10:00. The restaurant had good food (I had the Veggie Black Bean burger twice!). Some items were a bit pricey, but the location is convenient and you do get good value for the food.Only a few little things: All of the staff are very friendly and hospitable...But a few of the waiters were new and were not totally knowledgeable of the menu. For some who have commented about an odd smell in lobby, there was one day that we did notice it, but a similar odor was also outside, so I don't think the hotel is to blame for that? We found the hotel hallways and rooms to smell very nice.Overall, this hotel is one of the nicest we've stayed in for the location and value of money.

Just came back from a great stay as we came into town for a Vikings game. The location is easy walking distance to the game. It's also only about 3 blocks from the light rail stop making the location just right. The staff was very friendly, we even were able to leave are bags with them after we checked out in the morning while we went to the game. The suite was nice, big and clean. It would be a great place if you were staying for a longer time so you could spread out. One down side was not free breakfast. However the restaurant on site did have a good breakfast and nice bar. Overall we'd easily go back.

We stayed at the Normandy Hotel for one night in September for our anniversary. We used our BW points for this stay. The hotel is in a great location! Close enough to walk to US Bank, Target Center, Target Field and the Orpheum. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The only drawbacks: it feels dated and being so close to HCMC we heard sirens most of the night. The staff was friendly and the check in was fast and thorough. Although we didn't use the restaurant, they offered breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking was $16 and we had in and out privileges until 6:00 the next night.

My friend and I were in town to see the Twins play. The hotel is walking distance to Target Field and it's even closer to US Bank Stadium if you are going there. Great staff. So many food and beverage options within walking distance, including within the hotel. You are also near access to the "hamster trail" which provides even more options and will keep you warm and dry if the weather is less than ideal. The room was great. The staff was great. And they put out milk and cookies each evening. It's a nice touch.

This hotel has a great atmosphere, and comfortable rooms. There's an awesome restaurant attached to the hotel as well. Right in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. A great place to stay. We will keep this hotel in mind.

Came down for concert. I have never stayed downtown before. For the most part the front desk staff was very helpful. Only one seemed to be in a hurry to get you in and out of the way. They had cookies and milk sitting out after 10 pm. Very clean, room was clean. Just what we needed after a long drive and a fun rocking concert.

I booked a room months in advance immediately after scoring concert tickets for Taylor Swift at US Bank Stadium. I wanted a nice place for my daughter and I to stay and be able to walk to dinner and the show. First off, LOCATION, this is a great place to stay if you are going to US Bank Stadium it is only about a 10 minute walk. Second, the place is really unique, it has a little older and retro vibe to it but is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I need a place downtown Minneapolis. Easy parking on site which is nice as well.

Needed a one night stay to head to IKEA. We specificity wanted a hotel with a hot tub as well as a pool. Staying midweek we had the pool and hot tub nearly to ourselves. Both were nice and the pool was warm as it's indoors but in a large atrium like area. The check in was quick and the entire facility was clean and pleasing. Loved our double queen room. Very clean and both the beds and pillows were very comfortable!! Nice parking area right there at the rear entrance for $10 per day, which is tacked onto your bill, which we knew ahead of time and were fine with. With all the one way streets it took us a couple minutes to get to the parking lot entrance. Drove down the side of the hotel first and found no lot entrance there, went around a couple blocks then backtracked past the hotel front this time and had to go two more blocks to go around to the rear street and up to the lot entrance. We laughed at the travel trickery needed to get into the lot, have to find the humor in life if you want not to go bonkers, right? 10 pm they set out a plate of warm cookies which were soooo tasty! Also a milk dispenser but that ran out quickly and we didn't get milk (took an extra couple cookies to make uo for it, lol) No continental breakfast, so plan ahead. Glad we stayed here, had a pleasant time for the money and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Also, we didn't find any offensive smells liek a couple other reviews mentioned.

beautiful motel with that old world elegance. A perfect place to meet clients lobby very impressive and ample places to relax. The room was very nice and relaxing. We had a king suite and i felt like home only nicer ha ha ... the only possible thing that could of been better in the room was a makeup/shaving mirror that pulls out. Thats pretty nick picky tho. I would stay here again for sure. Parking is charged and a little hard to deal with my typical in any downtown are. I was pleased no parking garage becuase our van doesnt not fit in underground parking usually. The restaurant was so great. up scale for sure. we had the pork loin and it waas cooked perfectly. our waiter was perfect as well i believe is name was Mason what a remarkable dinner Give yourself a treat and dine there. tho pricey but worth it. Kind of food u take pictures of

We stayed here for one night as we were passing through Minneapolis. The staff was super friendly. The pool and hot tub area was very clean and comfortable. The parking was convenient. Overall a great choice for a stay in Minneapolis.

My granddaughter and I stayed here so we could walk to the Vikings Stadium. I couldn't have found a more perfect motel! Our room was clean and large and the hallways were quiet. The only thing we were disappointed about, was no room service on the day of the game. My granddaughter wanted to experience breakfast in bed, (she's nine), but we went down to the restaurant and the meal was very good. Our waiter did a great job. Thank you for such a nice stay!

Stayed three nights at the hotel and was very pleased. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Used the pool, hot tub and sauna, all were great. Also made use of the shuttle to get to the Twins game while there, but hotel was still close enough that we chose to walk back after the game. Good location, not a far walk to most of the places we wanted to go. We did drive to some breweries on the outskirts of downtown and to the art museum, but they have a great parking situation - self park in their on-site lot in back with in/out for only $10. Other hotels we looked at were $40+. Never got to try the cookies. Only night we came through the lobby close to cookie time was after the ball game about 10:30 and they were already gone. Do agree with other reviewers that the hotel halls have a funny smell, but the room did not. Didn't use the on-site restaurant but it was full most nights when we walked by. Did try the brewery across the street (Finnegans), beer was great. Brought our own food for breakfast, they don't offer continental.

Just blah. Room service was ok. No glass of water and the cheese plate had no crackers or bread. Tried to call and ask.but no answer. Breakfasts i ordered toast. Server did not bring jam and after i requested jam he never came back with it. I ended up.requesting it being taken off my bill. Front desk was snappish about my amazon order

Attended a convention downtown, hotels offered were twice the price of BW. BW was 1/2 mile from the convention center but offered a free shuttle anyway. Didn't expect the eevery-vening milk/cookies! very nice. Warm indoor pool & whirlpool with overhead sunroof so it felt like outdoors. They upgraded me to "mini-suite" for no charge & it was great! NICE staff.

Group was staying here; conference rate was very high for what you got here. Great shuttle when it was available. Rooms clean but in need of update. Very nice shuttle and pool. The restaurant's bartender was not a friendly person. He was rude and insisted on closing before 10:30 every night even though there was a full house. He told us to walk down the street which we felt was uncalled for. The hotel offers coffee in the a.m. (no creamer) however there is nothing for coffee within walking distance. Bring your own shampoo etc. the offered sample size amenities were the smallest we've ever seen.

I am glad to know that while your overall stay was pleasant, you did experience a few bumps along the way. Please accept my apologies for the unfriendly bartender. Since I don't know the date this happened I will work with the General Manager of the restaurant and we will use this as a training opportunity. We offer 2 kinds of creamer in the lobby with the coffee dairy and non- dairy, I believe we were replacing the dairy creamer when you went to get coffee. I wish we had known that you needed more shampoo, we would have gladly given you as many bottles as needed. We hope that you will stay with us again if you are in the Downtown Minneapolis area.

The bed was prob best I have ever slept in. Hotel has a cute midevil charm to it. Had to go around block once to find parking lot. It had room when I pulled in at 9:30pm to check in. Room very clean. Would def recommend. Super soft fluffy pillow.

We stayed in June for Back to the Fifties car show. The hotel was pretty easy to find, right downtown, close to many amenities. We were able to walk to the Vikings stadium, Target, etc with ease. Upon check in, we were told the price to park per day was higher than what I had been told by hotels.com. I was upset about this and told the gentleman at the desk that we hadn't planned for that and that there should be updated information. He told me that they weren't liable for other websites and wouldn't do anything to help. Granted, it was only a few dollars, but he could have easily given me the price I was told (even had my confirmation printed where it showed that) and it wouldn't have hurt them at all. Would have made my review 5 stars. Room was clean, quiet and had the amenities we needed. Enjoyed the separate shower/toilet space from the sink area so we could get ready when someone was showering. The curtains in the room are definite black outs and we slept way later than we were intending to one day because of it. That was my favorite part! Pool area was nice. We sat in hot tub and also in chairs around the deck. Was peaceful. They do have cookies and milk at 10pm and they were delicious! There was a gathering every night around that time for them. Totally worth it. Restaurant looked amazing but we didn't eat there at all-no time. They open the windows in the front so it's like a little French bistro. So cute. They were super friendly when we walked through and it was busy every night. Elevators were slow and smelled gross, but no big deal. When we rode once, a front desk person told us he was riding because someone had complained that it was smelling like smoke. We didn't notice smoke, just old smell. Parking worked well, checkout was a breeze. They allow dogs but there were never any running around or being obnoxious. I only saw a couple late at night. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We arranged for late check-in as our flight came in late. When we arrived we had no rooms and no one had contacted us. There were 2 clerks and only 1 showed any interest in helping us. They had no other arrangements for us. They told us it was a maintainence problem but our room would be ready tomorrow. They finally had to send us to another hotel. The new hotel was 15 minutes further from our destination the next day and our cab driver had no idea where to take us. Never returning.

We do try our best to contact the guests via the phone number that is provided. We are not always successful in contacting our guests. Please keep in mind that just like the airlines there are instances that go beyond our control and cause us to relocate guests.

Thank you for your review of your stay with us. The milk and cookies at 10 PM has been a tradition of ours for many years. Our onsite parking at $10/day with in and out privileges is the most economical downtown Minneapolis. We hope that you will stay with us next time you are in the area.

After checking into our room, we went out for lunch and to explore the city. Upon returning to our room, we found a man in the room. He said something bad happened and had to fix the bar on top of shower door with duct tape. The morning we were packing, I lifted the comforter all the way up to make sure we were not leaving anything behind. I found the bottom of the sheet had splattered, dried blood stains all over it. It was shocking! The two young women at the desk said nothing when I related this to them. I emailed the manager upon returning home and never received a response. Will never stay there again!

Patricia, we greatly appreciate you taking the time to speak with the General Manger about the issues during your stay. We have taken this opportunity as a training opportunity for all of our staff.

We stayed 2 nights on a driving trip. There is paid parking for $10/night accessible through an entrance around the block (the streets run 1 way and we sometimes missed the entrance and had to circle back). But once in the lot, the hotel door is right there. Breakfast was not included in our rate. The room was nice and the USB ports on the side of the night stands were convenient. We did not use the pool. There is not much within easy walking distance but the downtown attractions (including the spectacular football stadium and the baseball park) are a short drive away. However, the construction all around town tried our patience and both our GPS (with traffic alerts) and Google Maps got tripped up by all the detours. We felt that we would have been better off staying in St. Paul, the more elegant and scenic twin city.

The staff were well trained but lacked warmth. The location was in the city-not close to anything walkable. You need to drive to see anything. As you have to drive to see sites anyway-my suggestion if you have a car is to stay nearby in St Paul (nicer area, walkable, more civilized location) and come into town to see Minneapolis sites. This hotel charges for parking-while inexpensive ($10 per day) you basically have no option as there is nowhere else to park. I understand them charging for outsiders-but should be gratis for guests. No breakfast included-if that is important

Hotel is nice, room was huge! Very good location, would definately recommend. Parking is easy, behind building. They have a restaurant/lounge there which I enjoyed being able to get a drink and take it to my room.

We recently stayed here and had a great experience. The old fashioned decor was cool and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Our girls loved the pool and hot tub and especially loved getting a fresh baked cookie and milk every night at 10! The room was clean and worked for us. The hotel was quiet. I thought the location was great!

This is a wonderful find. Great location in downtown Minneapolis, extremely friendly and helpful staff, awesome restaurant, nice swimming pool, on-site parking, and most of all, a free shuttle to local venues.

My cousin and I stayed at the Normandy for the weekend of the Minneapolis (Hugo, MN) Tough Mudder event. Getting into the city and to the hotel was easy, reception was nice and quick in checking us in. The room was more than suitable for our needs (mini-fridge, safe, working shower/toilet). The location was better than expected, only 3-4 blocks from the main street (Hennepin?) and good food (The Butcher and the Boar!) and activities (Skyway theater to see Knife Party). We sadly did not use the pool or hot tub though they looked inviting. Parking was adequate for an additional (reasonable) price ($10/day) The downsides: 1) No continental breakfast and the lobby 'market' charged 3x what you can find at a gas station ($3.50 for a Kind bar) and 2) the lobby and hallways were musty and smelled like urine (primary reason for only 4 stars). Thankfully we weren't hanging our in the hallways and the room smelled just fine. Also, not the hotels fault, but navigating OUT of the city was maddening as one of the highways was completely closed at every eastbound on-ramp. Overall, it was a very good value for our needs. I would consider staying there again (just bring more breakfast snacks and some Febreze :).

Nice, less expensive hotel right in downtown Minneapolis. We were staying for the 4th of July festivities and this hotel was convenient to walk to the fireworks viewing area. The hotel itself was nice. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable beds, and quiet, even though it was in a busy downtown area. There was a refrigerator but no microwave, though you could use the microwave in the laundry room, which we did and that was fine. There was a nice pool area and sauna, though we were too busy to make use of them. There is a restaurant on site and there are other places within walking distance to eat or purchase food. We went to Target for snacks. This is a downtown hotel, so there were some sketchy people around outside and some may feel uncomfortable walking around late at night. The shower was the best on this trip with very nice, strong water pressure. Overall, a great stay.

The hotel was in a good location, walking distance to many restaurants. Inside was very dark and dated, but clean. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the blinds were sheer, so the morning light was super bright. (My husband was not a fan of that.) For all electronic enthusiasts, there were a TON of outlets all over the room. The staff at the front desk were very nice. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was just meh. I thought the prices were really high, but they seem consistent with other restaurants in the area. Couldn't find a place to get a good burger for under $16. Seems like a good place for foodies. Overall, if the price was right, we would come back again

I was pleasantly surprised. The Normandy Inn may have an old feel to it, but it's quaint in a good way. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We had breakfast included in our stay and we also had one dinner at the Bistro, which had an excellent menu. Service was a bit slow on the weekend, but I didn't see any guests show exasperation. Must be the "Minnesota nice" response. Parking is pricey, but convenient and secure. We walked to Target Field and other locations easily.

WOW the look, the feel, the customer service all beyond expectations! We arrived tired with 3 kids, they gave us a room with direct pool access. All in all, excellent accommodation. Bedroom is expansive, however the bathroom is a little "undersized". Only a few blocks up 8th Avenue, you hit Nicollet Mall , and you find the main drag of shops and restaurants. If you rate accommodation by the bed and shower, it's 5 star all the way. Happy to come back.

Staying a Normandy brings back memories, of Minneapolis, the Mill City -- Flour Capitol of the World! Yes, it is old -- but in a good way. Walking up the long candle-lit entryway -- with accents like a glossy white piano, and Sinatra crooning in the background, the ambiance is so inviting. And the smart staff are Midwestern friendly, "Is there anything else we can do for you?" (If not, relax and enjoy your stay.) The rates are reasonable, and well worth stepping up to a bed-room suite. Vast expanse of livability -- a comfortable den, with comfortable couch, intimate dining table, big TV and a nice side bar, complete with refrigerator. And down connected hallway, two comfortable beds, writing desk and yet another television. Ice and purified water are just steps away. As for location, you are already there -- no reason to leave, Atrium swimming pool, cocktail lounge -- fine dining with live jazz. And with come and go parking, rest of the City is only minutes away, or half-century into future. Normandy has it All!

Carol, many of our guests enjoy all the brew pub options nearby with Finnegans being across the street.While you are able to walk to Target Field for a Twins game, we do offer complimentary shuttle also. We look forward to your next stay with us.

The hotel is not in a safe area of town if you are a woman that is alone. I stayed three nights and couldn't wait to leave. My room was not clean, coffee maker had a moldy coffee pod in it. I found curly black hairs on my white sheets. The workout room has two treadmills, one is broke down but no sign, when I called the office I was told, "yes it's been broken for a while, I will tell my manager." THe equipment all have televisions on them but they don't work, when I asked the front desk I was told, "I don't know about those" really. They were never activated, I found out later so don't be fooled. When I called I was told they do not have a shuttle but the do it just doesn't transport to the airport. The restraraunt is overpriced and my black bean burger was still frozen in the middle. No healthy options at this place. My best advice is to stay elsewhere.

We did place a service call to have the treadmill fixed. I would also like to let you know that as a hotel guest and to compliment our fitness center, we offer complimentary access to YWCA and YMCA.You would just need to show your room key at either facility. I hope you brought the issue with your coffee maker to a staff members attention and I am sure they were able to replace your coffee maker immediately. You mentioned there are not any healthy options in our onsite restaurant Normandy Kitchen. We offer several vegetarian and vegan options along with many classic favorites from our French inspired menu. While it is very unfortunate that your stay was so unpleasant. I would like to suggest for any future stays that when an issue arises, that you speak with the Manger on Duty so that your issue can be addressed and resolved at that moment.

Front desk personnel was very nice and helpful upon our 1am check in. The room was very clean and spacious. They had coffee available every morning in the lobby and flavored water in the afternoon. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but it looked very good.

Had two rooms for 2 nights for our family of 2 adults and 3 teens over Memorial Day. The kids like something a bit more contemporary but my husband and I liked the look and the rooms. The pool was great - although it is NOT outside which is what we wanted and what the booking site said. Additionally, there was a lot of really sketchy people staying at the hotel and visiting people there. Both nights there were very loud disturbances near our rooms. The first night was a party - which management broke up after complaints at midnight, the second was very loud bangs and screaming in the hall at 3 AM. The mattresses were not very comfortable on top of that - so we were pretty tired. Also - the carpets were dirty - while the rest of the rooms were spotless. We DID like the bar and food - and Alex who was a FANTASTIC server. Staff seemed better this AM than over the weekend.

Have stayed here every year for the past 18 years and still have a great experience . Very business place on the weekends. Also like the cookies they have at 10:00 P.M. The desk is very helpful when asking directions to a place you don't know where it is. Also can ride the shuttle to and from the game if you don't want to walk. Easiest way to the Mall of America is to ride the light rail.

Check in personnel were very helpful and efficient. Staff throughout were also very kind and helpful. Only real issue was with the chair for the work desk as it was too low and couldn't adjust higher which made it difficult to work on a lap top on the table.

We stayed here for an event at the US Bank Stadium. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is a great location for the Stadium. Our family came to town for a few days to catch the Blue Jays playing at Target Field. The hotel is beyond beautiful! Historic but redone so it's classic and modern. The staff was wonderful and friendly. We couldn't get a pool side but they upgraded us to a two room suite! One night Winnipeg jets game was on and the staff at the restaurant found it for us to watch. The food was amazing too! Location was perfect. We will definitely stay here again when we come back! We recently stayed at the Normandy Inn for a volleyball tournament for our teen. The hotel is convenient to downtown Minneapolis and the convention center where the tournament was held. The hotel has a shuttle that runs throughout the day, but our team enjoyed walking since the weather was so beautiful while we were there. The restaurant in the hotel is good with lots of delicious options, but a bit on the pricey side. The hotel room itself was fair. The tub drain was very slow, the sink was also slow to drain and the way the shower curtain was hung made water puddle on the floor outside the tub. The room was very musty when we arrived, but running the AC and opening the window helped. The beds might need to be replaced soon as the mattresses moved a lot and were more bouncy than firm. One really nice amenity was the reverse-osmosis water dispenser that they had on our floor by the ice machine. The lobby area and sitting area were very nice with seating to enjoy a cup of coffee or light conversation. This is definitely an older hotel with rooms that could use a little updating, but overall, we had a nice stay.

Was delightfully stranded at the Normandy during the recent snow storm after my business meeting was cancelled. Staff was wonderful. I was provided a complementary upgrade to a suite as a Diamond Select member and the accommodations were very nice. This is a great location with inexpensive inner city parking. All this being said this big city hotel provides all the comfort and feel of home and that's why I continue to stay here.

When you enter the hotel, you feel as though you have stepped back in time. The decor is very traditional and very inviting. If you are looking for upscale and modern, go elsewhere. There is a fireplace and seating area off the front desk and several spots to relax. The beds are super comfy with soft sheets and and heavier comforter. The room is what you would expect in terms of amenities. The hotel was not super busy when we stayed, but the room were quiet. Parking is on site with in and out privileges for just $10. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a calm and inviting stay.

We came down for my daughter's college visit. The location was great very close to University's campus. Room was very clean. Will stay there again. One thing could be better is breakfast since restaurants are not to close.

Not being familiar with the down town area, this turned out to be a great place to stay. Public transporation is everywhere, and also accessible to those great skyways. No need to rent a car! The hotel is well kept and the service was stellar. I enjoyed the pool, spa, sauna and gym. Many places to sit and meet with my clients, without having them have to come to my room. Good / easy internet connection. The room was the best part. Very spacious, comfortable and quiet. My room had a small refrigerator and microwave oven. Everything I needed for my business trip, but I would recommend for families too!

First time staying here and we will be back! We booked the hotel from the online reviews and pictures of the poolside rooms. We called same day and spoke with Daniel who took our reservation, said we could check in early and gave us a pool side room for the night. He didn't even take a credit card to hold the reservation. Simply a "see you in a few hours". Now that was excellent customer service! The poolside rooms were great - with safe, fridge, comfy double beds,, desk, sitting chair. The pool area was nice. The pool is 3-8' deep and very warm. Hot tub for 8-10 people too, and a sauna. There is lounge chair seating in the pool are area too. This hotel has the best customer service of any hotel downtown. Very friendly front desk, maid service, pool attendants, etc. They serve cookies/milk at 10PM every night. The best value for your money too. Pillows were a bit soft and uncomfortable, but minor detail considering how fantastic our two days were there. We will be back again!

This was our first stay here and it may be the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff were so friendly and accommodating .The beds were plush and soft. The pool was fabulous and warm! With a sauna to boot! We had to bring our dog, and they were so accomodating. Every other hotel in the area charges between $50-100 for a pet fee .This hotel charged $10! Free filtered water, cheap parking, excellent location, the best staff...I could go on and on. This is the only hotel I will stay at for all future trips to Minneapolis.

I love the Normandy, but only recommend staying during less busy times of the year. It's a smaller hotel so it feels less private than most, and the prices can jump pretty rapidly when there's something going on in town. The pool/hot tub/sauna are magical when there aren't a thousand kids running around. Don't expect any adult time in the pool area on a weekend or school break. The staff are amazingly friendly and they have warm cookies in the lobby every night (don't tell the kids).

I am not sure that I understand what you mean exactly about feeling less private. I would love to discuss this to get a better understanding. It is great to know that our staff was friendly and that you enjoyed the nightly milk and cookies. This hotel may be a little older but it is very updated and the ambiance you feel just walking in is worth the stay. The pool is large and has a large sitting area along with a hot tub and sauna. Our family also like's the restaurant and my daughter in law said it has the best french onion soup..better then in Paris. The chocolate chip cookies at 10:00 PM are also a great treat!

Me and my wife decided to stay downtown for the MNUFC opener so we went with The Normandy. We couldn't of been happier with our choice. Sort walk to Nicollet Mall and in the other direction to the tram station. The staff were very friendly during our entire stay, especially at check-in when they made sure we knew where to park, how to get around downtown. The room was very nice, ours had a view of the street. Didn't get a chance to use the pool, being St. Patrick's day weekend we choose to stay away.

We decided to go with the Normandy due to its location downtown, the veterans discount and we had an old BW rewards card that needed dusting off. The lobby is very nice with the lounge located just off to your right as you enter the building. We didn't have a chance to make it to the pool so I can't comment on those facilities. Our room was very nice, there are 5 in our family and the suite we had on the 2nd floor was a perfect fit. It had a separate bedroom and living room with a fireplace. Bathroom seemed kind of small for a suite but the toilet flushed and the shower worked so that's always a plus. The staff didn't interact with me very much but they seemed courteous and my wife said the front desk was very friendly when she checked us in. We were a late check in but they had no problems with that. Overall I would definitely recommend to families or couples, my wife and I plan on coming back soon!

I stayed at the Best Westen Plus-Normandy Inn during the Super Bowl. I felt welcome upon arrival as the staff greeted us with huge smiles and wonderful attitudes. Check in was flawless and we were in our room within minutes. The room was flawless and the beds are quite comfortable. Every night at 10, there was cookies and milk in the lobby. Also a perfect location, between both the MCC and US Bank Stadium. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone who desires the comforts of home. Thank you for such a wonderful visit.

I arrived a bit frazzled from a day of flights and the person at the front desk made checking in a breeze. He also quickly explained the parking situation (there's paid parking in back) and got everything else aligned for me in no time. The hotel itself is nice, clean, and quiet. The indoor pool looked great, but I didn't have time for it. All in all, a great experience over four nights.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel. Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and updated, and there is a pool for kids to go in! Restaurants and the US Bank Stadium are within walking distance. We have a 4 year old and were able to walk with him to the US Bank Stadium for Monster Jam. We will definitely stay here in the future when visiting the cities for events ??

We had an issue with a 3rd party booking company and the staff was able to work with them on a resolution and we were extremely appreciative of their assistance. Ron at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, housekeeping was also very friendly and the hot tub/pool area was very nice. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. Love that they have a large parking lot that is easily accessible for being downtown.

Checked in very nice place people very friendly even though we were saints fans nice little bar and restaurant foods a pittle pricey but o well had a blast must say vikes fans are good ones met some that will probably be friends for life

After a minor crisis with the airport and taxi on my way to the airport, I was very distressed when I arrived to the hotel. Only 7 blocks away from the Target center. Was thinking of walking with the family, but it was below zero and freezing, they have a free shuttle service. Worked perfect to and from the Timberwolves game.

We stayed there because we were in town for a Vikings game. Hotel was clean, had a lounge and restaurant, and pool. Staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. Sky walk to USBANK Stadium was only 2 blocks away and went right into the stadium. The heaters in the rooms were a bit noisy though. The osmosis filtered water was fantastic. Overall, a very nice stay.

We needed a hotel for our family of four in downtown Minneapolis while visiting relatives over the holidays. The Normandy was perfect for our family. Great place to stay when visiting downtown Minneapolis. Rooms are very nice. We enjoy having a hot-tube and pool. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to see such as the Target Center or the Guthrie Theater. The parking was extra but worth the small fee.

I began to stay at the Normandy two years ago when I could not find accommodations at the hotel where I always used to stay when passing through Minneapolis. At the recommendation of a friend, I reserved a room at the Normandy, and I have been a guest there ever since, enjoying the ambience of the hotel and the culinary creations of the restaurant, the friendly reception at the front desk, and quiet nights of blissful sleep.

Great hotel , Great Location , we will definitively stay here again , beds were very comfortable , good parking , very clean , staff was amazing . close to great restaurants, all walking distance . see you again

We booked a room at the Normandy for my husband's annual transplant center visit. The Normandy is a remodeled center city hotel and lacks some of the amenities of other Best Western plus hotels but the staff were great and went out of their way to help us.

We have stayed here a few times now. The pool and jacuzzi area is very nice but could be a tad warmer , the jacuzzi water isn't much warmer than the pool was. We loved the free shuttle service to the orpheum. Place is very beautiful and clean. We wish it had continental breakfast like all the other hotels we stay at though.

My husband and I booked a room for the night before a Viking game. Easy check in, nice room for the price, comfortable beds! We were able to keep our car parked in the hotel lot until 6 pm the day we checked out which worked good for a noon game. The hotel is a short walk from the stadium as well as many dining establishments.

Went to the game??, have stayed here for many years and the Walleye with Wild Rice is killer!!! Can't wait to come back, one of my favorite hotels!! Great hospitality, etc.........One of the places to stay and see a Vikings Game!!

I really liked this Hotel. The bar / restaurant is incredible. Very clean and extremely high quality food and the chef is first rate. Nastashia was my bartender and she could not have been nicer !!! This hotel is very unique and looks like it belongs in the Bavarian Mountains, from what I understand it has an incredible history as well. Very clean and the staff is courteous and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

Lynette at the front desk was personable and listened to me natter n about my conference. And she found me a phone charger to replace the one I had left at home. Brittany took good care of me at dinner in the restaurant (great food). And the public spaces are welcoming and beautiful.

Yearly I travel to go watch the Tampa Bay Bucs play in different cities. Gives me a great opportunity to see the country and along with a being a fan. Did some research on the hotels and decided on this one for the amenities and location with regards to the stadium. The safe was excellent and helpful with seeing different things around the city. Only issue I had was that there was not any sort of breakfast or continental breakfast. Aside from that, the hotel was clean and location was perfect.

I would like to let you know that we do have an onsite restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also offer a bed and breakfast package for 2 adults for additional $20. We reserved 2 rooms over the weekend so we could get up early and do some last minute Christmas shopping. Hotel is nice and staff was great. Paid $140 per room. You would think with that kind of price they would have FREE parking and some kind of continental breakfast. Not sure if we would stay there again if we traveled to Minneapolis.

We also offer a bed and breakfast package for 2 at an additional cost of $20. I am not sure if that option was presented to you during your stay. With regards to the parking as a hotel guest you do receive reduced parking rate of $9/day with unlimited in and out privileges. A non hotel guest would pay $3/hour and not have in and out privileges. We hope that you will consider staying with us next time you are in Downtown Minneapolis.

One of my favorite places to stay when I'm in Minneapolis. The unique thing about this hotel is It offers a nice blend of tradition and modern. It displays it's age very well but yet has a modern feel. The original building has rooms that are a bit more traditional in nature where the newer tower offers more modernized rooms. I've stayed in both and enjoy them equally. The pool area is great, offers you the option of relaxing around the pool or partaking in the enjoyment and use of the pool and hot tub.

Wow - we know when BW gives a property a Plus status that it will be good but this is surely a plus plus. It's conveniently located to the CBD , it pays homage to it heritage but has seamlessly added all the mod cons that we come to expect.My room was on the huge size with two queen beds. The shower was over the tub , which can be a problem for Seniors like me .I had a quiet room at the end of the 4th floor corridor -just dandy for those looking for a quiet night.Room service is available for breakfast and dinner and is prompt with very good food.The restaurant is charming and apparently has been a local institution for years. The lobby area is tastefully furnished with plenty of space to chat with friends. Coffee is available in the morning ,juice in the afternoon and milk and cookies at 10 pm.The fitness center and the indoor pool are great for the more active guests.

great place to stay in downtown Mpls, close to everything, the hotel is older but very well cared for, it's clean and everything is in good repair. The rooms are large, up to date and so quiet we thought we were alone in the building. Parking is easy to access and very affordable. oh ya the food in the bar was great!

Second stay here with my husband. We stayed in a King Suite both times - the room is good sized - separate bedroom/living area with tv's in both. They also have purified water available near the ice machine which I like. We didn't swim this time. The hotel has character and charm for sure, but if modern interior decor means a lot to you, this is probably not your hotel. That said, the bar/restaurant are remodeled very nicely. The beds were uncomfortable both stays. The service leaves a lot to be desired. Both times we've eaten in the restaurant part or all of our order has been forgotten, and we've either eaten apps after dinner, or waited a long time for dinner. They comped something both times, but I'd rather have my food on time. The restaurant was not busy either time, so that wasn't the reason, though it's possible we've caught them on off nights both times. In particular, the front desk staff did not meet my expectations. They were not knowledgeable regarding Best Western Rewards, which doesn't matter to most I imagine, but does indicate, from my perspective, that there is something missing there. I wouldn't describe them as rude, per se, but they were not friendly, and I had to go out of my way to get a smile. I expect more when it comes to service. Also, the rate I was charged was more than the rate at which I booked the room. I haven't bothered following up, so I have a part in that, but I would say I'm annoyed that I have to follow up. I'm especially frustrated by it because when I checked in I pointed out to the front desk staff that the rate was wrong on the check in paperwork she had me sign, and she reassured me that there was a deposit fee accounted in the rate which would be removed upon check out. The charge on my credit card was more than the rate I booked the room at. I'd probably stay again if I could get a very low rate, but likely only if I couldn't find a comparable rate elsewhere, and not until after I had confirmed with management ahead of time that I'd be charged the rate I was quoted.

I can't give this property enough gold stars or diamond stars. Well done, Best Western and Normandy Inn! Drinks were delicious - - especially the gin gimlet with "cherry bark and vanilla bitters". Wow! Dinner of wild mushroom risotto for the Mrs., and veal/beef/pork meatloaf with brocolli Rabb and impeccable mashed potato for me were PRIME. The Douro Portugese red was perfect with the meal as well. Desk staff and all staff were 7 star. I'm staying here from now on when I come to the downtown Minneapolis area. I'm old. I travel much. I've not run across a property that I wanted to complement enough to sign on to Trip Advisor and comment. Way to go, Normandy Inn and Normandy Inn Kitchen. I grew up thinking Best Western meant "place to stay if nowhere else is available". No longer is that the case! My last dozen Best Western experiences have been top tier.

We haven't even spent the night at the Normandy....but know we'll be back. This hotel goes back in decades as one of our favorites...since the 70's. It's been around....but has maintained its charm, cleanliness and ambiance. The front desk staff are friendly, helpful and efficent. We had a chacuterie for lunch.....fabulous servide and a pub atmosphere. Affordable and centrally located. Now...for that Brian Setzer concert at the State Theater. Highly recommend this landmark hotel in the heart of Minneapolis.

We were looking for some 'European kitchen' and found right what we needed. The crab cakes and fries were very good ! Good thing I kept some room for dessert. The profiteroles filled with ice cream and topped with warm Belgian chocolate were delicious !! My husband had the meatloaf and was also very pleased. We asked to see a roomful future stays and were shown a beautiful room. It was a little pricey though. The hotel was located on a corner, so I don't know if sleeping there would be very peaceful. But we will certainly return in the future for a nice meal.

Second time I have stayed here. Both for shows at the Target Center. Walking distance from the venue. Good bar/restaurant attached. Pool is always clean.same with the hot tub area. Will stay again if we go to this area.

I stay here for business when I am in town, every few weeks. The front desk employees have always been friendly, courteous, and helpful. They attached restaurant is ok but a little overpriced. I highly recommend the cookies and milk. It's a nice touch.

We had a great time staying at the BW Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis. It is a very nice hotel, exceptional staff, great bed and a very nice bar and restaurant. We would highly recommend this hotel and we plan to stay there again.

This is a friendly, comfortable place to stay. From the friendly staff to the convenient restaurant, you will enjoy your stay. Small parties will enjoy the banquettes in the bar for lunch or dinner. I was especially pleased with the unexpected up-grade to a suite. I enjoyed sitting on the sofa, sipping a cup of tea and reviewing my slides or watching Colbert.

The staff was friendly and helpful, neat and clean spacious room. Only problem was noise, you can hear anything happening in corridor even walking.Other than that it was great experiencing. They also serve Cookies at 10 pm in lobby.

Stayed Saturday night and was able to leave vehicle in lot after check out on Sunday whike attending Vikings game on Sunday afternoon. Hotel is older and neatly decorated. Wish Suite had a larger fold out couch though, asonly has small cot. Bed in bedroom was nice, and room had micro. and refrigerator. No AM breakfast atthis location, only free coffee. On site expensive restaurant at hotel, that we did not visit. Front dexkstaff was friendly and professional. Easy access in and out if hotel parking lot.

The Good: This was my first stay in a Best Western in over 20 years, and my expectations were quite low based on those previous experiences. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The hotel was actually very nice inside. The bed was incredibly comfortable and gave the major superchains a serious run for their money. I fell right to sleep every night because the room was so comfortable--completely dark, not overly loud AC unit, and as mentioned, a very comfortable bed. The restaurant in the hotel, the Normandy, was one of the best hotel restaurants I've ever eaten at, but I'll save that review for later. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect for anyone visiting the nearby hospital or arena, both within easy walking distance. The Bad: The toilet seat and cover had a lot of damage that was covered up with putty, and just didn't look very professional. The bathroom itself was so tight that I had to maneuver around the door just to sit on the toilet or to get into the shower. The Ugly: There wasn't anything that would prevent me from staying here again.

The location worked well for convention use as a 12 min walk to my conference. The Facility was clean, staff welcoming, food good, & any concerns I presented were address with an good "over-the-top" response.

Value, comfort,service and location is a quick and easy way to describe our weekend stay. Will look for come back for future trips. Pool area was large in size and was welcoming to all ages. People looking for locations in the cities need to look at the Normandy

We went to this hotel for a Green Bay Packer Game. The Hotel was within walking distance of the Minnesota Viking Stadium. Hotel rates were comparable for the area. No continental breakfast and our room suite - the bathroom was located in the bedroom with no door to the living space. Other than that - it was a really nice place.

I would like to let you know that we do offer bed and breakfast packages, I would also like to let you know that all of our suites except the suites ending with 13 and 17 have a door between the bedroom and sitting room. I hope that you will stay with us on your next trip to Minneapolis and we will make sure that you get a suite with separate areas.

We stayed in a double suite (2 beds, with 2 rooms) and thought it was an excellent hotel. The suite was large, clean, and comfortable, with a microwave, frig, sink, and coffee maker (although no utensils, plates, etc.). Each floor had a water station with cold and hot water (hot enough to make tea & coffee). There was a nice pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness rooms. The lobby area had both spaces to sit and talk with friends as well as to work as well as very good coffee in the morning. It was in a good location--just 7 minutes walk from the main restaurant and entertainment sections in town. We liked it very much.

The Normandy Inn checks all the boxes. It has charm while being completely up to date and exquisitely maintained. It has a restaurant, a pool, a gym and planty of parking. It also has an extremely courteous staff. I was there on a rainy day and they had umbrellas to lend you. The rooms are top notch with all the latest conveniences including lots of plugs to recharge phones and tablets and free WiFi. Best of all, the price is considerably less than the Hilton where I used to stay in Minneapolis.

After checking in, we went to the suite assigned to us.... and it just was not satisfactory. We went back to the front desk and both the gal who checked us in was more than happy to switch rooms for us (on a very busy and booked weekend!). But before she just switched rooms, she actually took us to several different rooms to show us and allow us to pick the room we felt the most comfortable with, and even the manager met up with us to show us an additional option. What customer service! Once we picked the room, we went back to the front desk so the paperwork could be switched, only to find the room we wanted had just been rented out by another front desk staff. Our gal and the manager were so apologetic, and tried to get the person to switch rooms, without success. We had wanted the 3rd floor with no one above us, but if we wanted that room, they were able to get it for us on the second floor, it just was not quite ready. We said ok, and everyone worked really hard to get the room ready right away. This staff went above and beyond to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and were happy, and the room turned out to be just fine.... a tiny bit noisy with people walking above us, but not enough to disturb us while sleeping. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was close to everything downtown.

Quite, clean, excellent service, Awesome food one of our favorite hotels. The chefs at the Normandy are right up there with other top chefs everything is fresh,the service from the restaurant to room service is fantastic. When my husband want to get away from our home, kids, animals, this is where we stay. It is WONDERFUL.

Checked in Friday oct 13 we had 3 rooms had to have new cards scanned numerous times. Bar service was terrible. Front desk called me on Saturday night and asked if we planned on checking inn. I would stay and use my Hilton honors

My husband and I were in town as he had a conference to attend. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the conference centre. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I found it a little dark and the beds way too soft. Other than that everything was in good shape. They have great water by the ice machines. Be sure to fill your bottle. The restaurant/bar were nice and there's many options close by.

Parking was convenient and close, so it was easy to go to and from your car if needed. There was a vegan burger option on the menu, although I didn't try it. Location is nice for downtown walking. Hotel room I was in was dated (i.e., small bathroom, tub, small window, but the bed was very comfortable and that's hard to find in hotels, I have a Sleep Number at home. Back door by parking lot should be card accessed, not "ring-a-doorbell-show-your-card-via-camera" access. It takes a minute to get in.

We spent 2 nights at The Normandy. The hotel is clean and offers several amenities. We had a poolside room which worked well for us. We used the pool and hot tub both evenings. The beds were comfortable. They offered free water, coffee in the room, as well as free coffee in the morning. We didn't take advantage of the attached restaurant but walked to several other restaurants that were very good. There is a change for parking but it was reasonable and convenient. A very nice surprise, they have free cookies and milk at 10:00 pm each night!

The stay here was absolutely wonderful. Staff were accommodating, friendly, happy. The room was very clean; the beds were amazing. A very good value. Parking was easy access. Will definitely be back. Felt warm safe and cared for.

The hotel has the old vibe, however, it has nice big rooms with a big tv (important to me) and perfectly working A.C. Room service is available until late and the downtown location makes everything walking distance, even the stadium.

Stayed here for many years, at least once or twice a year. Love that we can get adjoining rooms pool side, indoor, in downtown. Room are updated and usually reasonably priced. Staff is average but never had a serious complaint. They've always taken care of us. Would definitely recommend this hotel for downtown trips. Half way between Target Field and US Bank Stadium makes it perfect for Twins or Vikings games.

This hotel has probably the worst staff with exception of a dark complexion woman and another woman who work the front desk. The gentleman who checked me in failed like every other best western to make sure I got an upgraded room. Even though this is to be automatically done at check in I had to ask. Actually plead is a better word. I have an anxiety disorder, so I'm hyper aware of everything going on around me. I hate taking medicine because I'm useless at work if I do. When I go to a hotel I just want to be treated well, smiled at when I greet someone, or am greeted, treated with respect and dignity, and finally? I just want to feel comfortable. The way the staff treated me, I felt like I was a homeless person they all just stared at and snickered at as I walked off. Remember hyper aware! It's not okay for staff to interact with guests under any circumstance unless I was being belligerent or something along those lines. I'm a nice person, and treat others well. It's not fair that I'm paying a lot of money to this hotel, a very loyal diamond elite member to be treated like garbage.the hotel is decent, but with the majority of staff working there it's really just lipstick on a pig. I didn't even stay in that room because I felt so uncomfortable.

Running the marathon and asked for flexibility. NO. Had to scramble at the last minute to pack up the car. Couldn't enjoy any of the amenities due to time crunch. Staff acted like it was such a huge problem. We just wanted a shower post marathon. Apparently that was too inconvenient. Horrible. Mediocre facilities.

I have been traveling to the Twin Cities my entire life and I've stayed in many hotels on the area but this was the first time either my husband or I have stayed at the Normandy Inn. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel keeps to it's history with a 1920s feel and we loved the decor. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. When we were offered a free breakfast voucher upon check-in for Saturday morning, we were again pleasantly surprised with the high quality of food in the restaurant and friendliness of the serving staff. The pool/hot tub/sauna area is laid out well. My husband and I appreciate a quality sauna and this didn't disappoint (it was huge!) We stayed in room 302 and were impressed with the size and layout of the room - easily one of the most spacious rooms we've ever stayed in the downtown TC. The furnishings were stylish and comfortable. Parking was the easiest and most functional set up we've encountered downtown. The only downfall I would highlight from our experience is that our room, simply put - smelled like moth balls. Every time you walked in the room - the smell would hit you. However, once we had a window open and we were in the room for several minutes, the smell subdued. It should be noted we don't typically complain unless it's absolutely necessary and with the busy football/baseball weekend we knew there wasn't likely vacancy to move us to another room - so we did not bring this forward to staff. I will also say that room cleanliness was absolutely NOT an issue - everything was spic and span. Honestly, we would come back here in a heartbeat if the price was comparable to what we paid for this past weekend- I would likely just bring a room deodorizer just in case. It's a cool building with a great location and overall, we had a great experience... we're just sad we couldn't make the game yesterday. SKOL!

Looking for a place to stay in Downtown Minneapolis? Well look no further. My wife and I have stayed here multiple times as they coustomer service, amenities, and cleanliness of this hotel are top notch, especially considering the reasonable price. Speaking of the coustomer service, the last time we stayed here, the wonderful lady at the front desk actually remembered my wife and I and what a pleasure that was! Now the amenities, oh, the amenities. Every room has a big pitcher that you can take down the hall and get filled with delicious, cold filtered water that is next to the ice despenser. Do this, its good water! Now, once you get your water, go back to the room, order yourself some delicious room service from the resturant downstairs, and down forget the creme brulee (this is a must have for my wife, regardless if we are ordering any other food to go with it). As for parking, there is a large parking lot for the hotel, but you do pay for this. This is looped into your bill for staying there, so you probably wont notice the additional charge, and it does allow for unlimited in and out of the lot. The pool area is very nice, but I can not speak to it myself as, even though we have been there numerous times, we have never actually used the pool area. One big thing to note here, the pool is located in the middle(ish) of the hotel with rooms around it. If you don't care for the smell of chlorine or pools, ask for a room that is not pool side. If you are not using the pool facilites, you will probably be out and about, and this location is perfect. Within walking distance to numerous resturants and bars. It's also only a few blocks from the Orpheum Theatre. As I said in the beginning, this is the place to stay. The price is right and the staff will greet you with a smile and a clean, well furnished room.

Excellent location, service, comfortable beds. Walking distance of other local attractions. Wonderful accommodations for Viking's fans. Staff was very helpful in giving directions to other local attractions.

Nice historic hotel in the heart of Minneapolis. Low rise building makes it stand out from other high rise hotels. Parking in the backyard (not free) makes easy come and go. Breakfast includet, nice bar and evening restaurant - helpful staff.Train direct to Mall of America just a few blocks away. Highly recommended.

A beautiful older hotel with lots of class & style matched up with modern amenities at a price that's usually $20-$40 less that most of the others in the downtown area. Add in their great staff, large indoor pool & hot tub and you can't go wrong. My only complaint is the beds are overly soft for my taste.

We stay at The Normandy whenever we visit Minneapolis for Twins/Blue Jays baseball. Love the hotel, the location in relation to Target Field (walking distance) and the helpfulness of the staff. Fresh Chocolate chip cookies and milk at 10 each night in the lobby is a nice touch, not just for the kids, but as well, for all the little kids in us older folk.

clean historic hotel in down town Minneapolis. easy walk to Nicolet mall, bans stadium and trains. great staff and spacious rooms. nice fitness center including weights. pool area and hot tub a plus. nice to have water that is treated by osmosis. nice to have fridge and microwave.

This was my fourth time visiting the Best Western Plus Normandy Inn and Suites, and I am still as impressed with this property as I was the first time I came. We had a 2 queen standard room, and there was enough room for 4 adults. There was a chair and ottoman in the corner of the room, plus a full size working desk. One of the great features for sharing a room was that the sink and mirror are separate from the toilet and shower so more than one person can be getting ready at a time. With the location of the hotel we were close enough to walk to Target Field, and the surrounding venues and walk back to the hotel. When we did want to venture out, we were given a come and go parking pass for only $9 a day, and there were never any issues finding a place to park the vehicle. The staff throughout the facility are quick with a hello or a smile and you'll feel like the BW Normandy Inn genuinely appreciates your business.

The bartenders on Sept 11 night were so rude. Before I could even say a word the woman tossed a menu at me and said were all out of beer and to hurry up. The bartender gentle was also rude. They both told me to go ahead and report them and they didn't care.

The inside has a cozy feel as was not expected by the exterior of the building. The rooms were spacious and quiet. The parking was convenient in order to attend a concert at the US Bank stadium. It was a safe and secure location.

While I liked the location and parking, the staff left much to be desired. Hotel staff was lukewarm friendly at best. Restaurant and bar staff about the same or worse. We stayed for a Vikings game and the place was packed with fans also staying there. The staff seemed annoyed by so many people and were not helpful to people trying to get food/drink after the game -- they were understaffed for being so close to the stadium on game day. The bar ran out of many types of beverages before they closed at 11 pm. We won't be staying there again -- too many other good options out there for that price.

We stay at the Normandy Inn when we are headed to Minneapolis for a concert. The hotel is located within walking distance of many of the venues and some great restaurants (including the restaurant that is on sight). They offer a shuttle that will take you to the venues or downtown area which is wonderful when it is cold or rainy outdoors. Our room is always clean and the staff is always friendly.

Comfortable beds but rooms are a little dated. Had a two room suite and the living area furnitue could use a refresh. Old chain style lock on the doors and outdoor fenced parking lot with unlocked doorway gates then one couple easily walk through and fences one could easily climb over. Good for the money paid and some what quiet. Easy access to and from the interstate if your coming from the south, unfortunately constant noise of what sounded like kids running and stomping in the room above. They seve cookies and milk an 10 pm but missed out due to being in Minneapolis for a concert which most people were at the hotel for that night and the concert didn't get out until after 11:30. Not as expensive as some other hotels. Friendly staff.

We have stayed here many years and are always satisfied.Shuttle service is very helpful and enjoyed the on-site restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again on our next stay to the twin cities.

We traveled across the country this summer staying at a number of hotels. This hotel was the best one in our two week travels! The price was a little higher than we wanted, but after staying in cheaper hotels we definitely notice the difference in price "you get what you pay for". Staff was friendly, rooms were spacious and clean and the restaurant was amazing. I would stay again!

Hotel decor is very nice. The room was super, plenty of room, comfortable and quiet. The service was very good. The restaurant, however, was a disappointment. The quality/taste of food was inferior. Would not eat there again.

This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is nice inside. I stayed in a queen suite and it wasn't quite as big as I thought it would be, but it was comfortable. There was a fridge with freezer and a sink & microwave. The parking is on a one-way street on the side and it was only $9 a day - cheaper than a lot of other hotels. I never had trouble finding a place to park. Hotel not too far off highway either. Safe area too. I vegged out a lot at night and thought they had a great TV selection - Cinemax, several HBO channels, lots of sports channels. No breakfast included and not many places close to eat at. Probably the closest with atmosphere was the Keys at Foshay. I had dinner there once and it was not very good, but was told breakfast was good. I had a drink at the restaurant downstairs - the place looked like a cool hangout, but the drink was not great - not too expensive though. Staff is not the most accommodating. They neglected to tell me I could unload my car in the parking lot on the side (you need a ticket to access.) I ended up unloading in the front and even though two people were standing right there, couldn't inconvenience themselves with opening the door for me as I was dragging my luggage in. Several people at the front desk looked pained when I asked a question too - I don't think they want to be bothered. Overall though - nice stay. Want to mention - unless you have something specific to do in that area, then I wouldn't overlook the St. Paul area. Lots of history there and sorry I didn't investigate hotels on that side of the water.

Not only is this the very most convenient hotel in Minneapolis, being just up the street from the freeway, it is also one of the cleanest and most charming hotels in town. None of that typical concrete and glass crap here, this place exudes charm! The restaurant is, in our opinion, one of the very best restaurants in all of the Twin Cities. Not at all what one would consider a "hotel restaurant," just a damn great restaurant!! The hotel is a classic and comfortable place for both business and leisure travel. It seems like every time we come, there is something new being done to update the amenities. The corridors, the pool area, and most recently a remodeling of the entire restaurant! TRES MAGNIFIQUE!!

We stayed at this hotel because it was pet friendly, even though we did not bring our dog after all. I found this hotel to be pleasantly surprising. The rooms were clean and spacious. Our suite was two rooms - a front room/kitchen area and a bedroom with a king size bed. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. Shower was hot. The triad for me for what I expect from a hotel. I was not expecting room service - which there was. I ordered breakfast and dinner. The menu was quite large. For dinner I ordered the walleye and it was fantastic. The bread pudding was quite good as well. The staff was friendly and accommodating. For both breakfast and dinner we requested some condiments and they were brought up within 5 minutes. I did not get a chance to speedtest the internet service but I did use it for emails and noticed no issues. Overall, I plan to stay there again.

We went for the Vikings game and decided to stay here as it was fairly close to the US Bank Stadium only 4 blocks away! The staff was amazing our suite was very clean and comfortable! I would defiantly stay here again!! The food was absolutely incredible!!

The shuttle does not provide service to the Xcel Energy Center DESPITE what the front desk may tell you when booking your room. Do not make this same mistake or plan on your own transportation to and from Xcel Energy center

When we go to the Cities and to a Twins Game we always stay at the Best Western. It is walking distance if you want to walk, or they have a Shuttle that also takes you to the Target Field. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful in anything you want. There are a few good eating spots in the area, which was nice.

It's really quite lovely and charming and relaxing. Wish it had free parking and a free breakfast. Other than that, the rooms are quite large in space and staff is friendly. Pool and hot tub is a bonus we love!

A lovely hotel in the heart of Downtown, Minneapolis. Restaurants and shops all within walking distance. It was convenient for my business purpose and only a short drive to the airport. Wished I would have had more time to explore. The skywalks between buildings was unique and found it interesting that you can walk through the buildings to get several blocks away, which we did due to rain.

This was a leisure weekend and we wanted the kids to have the experience of staying downtown. Staff was friendly , courteous, and helpful with directions. We thought the shower was little weak and pool and tad chilly, but this is a great location, parking reasonable. I know people remark on the the milk and cookies and nothing says home quite like milk and a warm cookie. The pool area is nice. I think we were in a double queen suite which was a great design for our family. The rooms seemed updated and nice to me, but the hotel has an old school charm which is quite appealing. We hope to stay there again sometime. We availed ourselves of the complimentary coffee and newspaper, but did not utilize the restaurant - next time. All in all, a terrific stay.

Big noise from the construction waked me up at 4 am, we could never get back to sleep! The internet was down at the first night. The front desk asked me to call tech support. Is that my job? If the sink valve or the toilet broke down, should the customer call a plumper?

Very clean and quiet for being in a city. Very quaint decor. Walking distance from the Nicollet Mall and the light rail. Very nice pool / hot tub / sauna area - has a bathroom near / within the pool area. The shuttle does not go to or from the airport, but the light rail is close, and there are Lyft and Uber drivers available.

The front desk lady (think her name is Lynette) was amazing!!!!! Room was a nice size, shower was nice, room was clean, bed was comfy. Only disappointment was thought the room was outdated, especially compared to the photos online, price was a little high as well. But overall was very happy.

Had a sister trip to see a band. Room was great. Bed was amazing, lots of feather pillows. Location was perfect. Clean. Staff was top notch. Easy to get around. Parking was easy. Would stay there again.

Convenient, clean, safe place in downtown MN. They offered shuttle to Target Field or you can walk if you enjoy walking. Not at all far. Friendly staff. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. I would definitely safe here again.

The staff is excellent at the BW Normandy Inn. Very friendly and ready to assist with any issue. They had free shuttle service to the convention center which was a plus for me on my business trip. Do recommend this for anyone staying in Minneapolis.

Lots of pros and cons, you have to decide whats important to you. The price is outrageous, $275 a night! Pros: Nice location if going to a Vikings game or concert at US Bank. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Cons: HOLY CRAP the price! Decore dated, no breakfast included at $275!

This hotel was the best surprise I have had in years when on a business trip! We got in late and what a great hotel, check in was without any issues. We were steps from the elevator, we where given a suite and it was clean comfortable and cozy! The ac worked awesome!! Usually we turn it down so we can sleep in a nice cool room and are disappointed ...not here!! Nice and cool and 2 perfect nights sleep. Awesome breakfast and snacks and cocktails at the Normandy Kitchen!! The employees and even the guests were awesome. We look forward to returning

We enjoyed our stay. We felt comfortable and it even felt homey. Our son and wife live in Minneapolis. They will be there at least 3 more years, so many more trips will be in our future. The Best Western Plus The Normandy Inn and Suites will be our hotel of choice. We have stayed at two others but this will be our "home away from home".

Great value and location in downtown Minneapolis. Lobby has old-world charm. Room was very clean and comfortable. Room service was fast and courteous. The sandwich ordered was hot upon arrival and very delicious. Came with pickle relish v. pickle and was a 'house speciality.' Would definitely stay at the BW Normandy Inn again and recommend to family and colleagues.

Staff is the best! Rooms are always super clean. Easy hotel to get to. Easy parking. We stay here if we can every time we are in the city. The recent remodel is great and so are the cookies!!! We will be back!

This hotel was in the perfect location for a fabulous weekend in Minneapolis. Walking distance to a lot of places and the guest services were more than adequate. We stayed in a 2 room with two double sofa bed and cot bed and it was a great layout for the four of us to enjoy our weekend. When we first walked in, it did have a smell of an older hotel… But our stay there and that amazing front desk staff trumped anything that could have gone not so great. The beds are comfortable, the shower was amazing… You wouldn't expect such a great shower and pressure from an older hotel. We loved hearing the chimes from the church across the street-Minneapolis downtown is very pedestrian friendly and so clean. We didn't get a chance to use the pool unfortunately as it looked like it would be a great place to have an evening cocktail and a hot tub. We had supper that night before the concert at the Normandykitchen, the prices were a little steep but was very flavorful. Make sure you have breakfast at the henhouse and even a breakfast at Hells kitchen was amazing with live entertainment at 10 o'clock in the morning and the coolest Mamosa bar(load it up!!! 15$ a mamosa) The shuttle service is a nice option. We use that to get to target field for the concert and met a lot of amazing people and had lots of laughs along the way. We walked back from target field and it was about a 20 minute walk which allowed us to see princes star and a few other tourist type sites. We would've like to use Uber to get to the river area and the distillery zone, but for some reason Uber didn't work on my phone. Uber will save you about 3 to 4 dollars on a $10-$12 cab ride. Make sure you have downloaded the app and it is set up before you get there. If you have time take the Minneapolis queen down at the Bohemian flats for $20. It's a quaint little hour and a half cruise on the Mississippi-it doesn't go too far but a nice day to spend good weather on the river. All in all I would definitely stay again at the Normandie… No high rise hotel would have the quaintness, homey feel, service, friendliness and ease of parking($9 nite) in the heart of downtown - five stars for me. I will definitely stay here again

The Best Western Normandy Inn and Suites was wonderful! Staff very help. The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Within walking distance to the Vikings Football Stadium. Great location. Would definitely return.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus The Normandy Inn and Suites. The location was very convenient to attractions, restaurants and public transportation. In addition, the staff was friendly. Of particularly note are Lynette who showed great interest in our daily activities and Pancho, the shuttle driver who took us to several places. In addition, it was very convenient having a restaurant on site. Next time we visit Minneapolis, we will stay at the Best Western, again.

The hotel location, and room size (I had a double suite with a fireplace that included a microwave, mini-fridge, & wet bar) are awesome for the price point. The pool and whirlpool were great and the fact that there is a sauna was the cherry on top. The lobby and common areas are very nice, although they all share what can be described as an old musty smell. The room decor is very dated and worn down, but the beds are comfortable and the fireplace is another great bonus. With only $9 parking, and free wifi, this place is definitely one of downtown Minneapolis' best kept secrets!

We were here from a Friday-Sunday. Our goal was to relax on Friday night...find some dinner and enjoy the hot tub. The pool area was great. My husband loved the sauna the hot tub was nice. Our room was really clean. We had a King bed--loved the walk in shower w/ the glass door and vanity area separate from the toilet/shower. The milk and cookies on Friday night were a nice treat. We were bummed to not see them on Saturday. Saturday morning, we left for breakfast--we were gone for only an hour or so and our room was already clean when we got back (at 9 AM!) The microwave, mini fridge, and water pitchers were a great feature also! The real highlight may have been an employee at the front desk. Her name was Lynette and she was beyond friendly and not in a fake or over-bearing way. She truly seemed to care about our stay and getting us settled. We noticed her interacting with other guests while waiting for a shuttle and she was friendly to everyone! She gave clear and concise directions for parking (helpful w/ so many one-ways). What a gem!!! There were a couple of quirks but nothing that ruined our stay. The square pillows were awkward for sleeping. I guess we're picky and may bring our own next time. (There will be a next time!) And...it was the Minneapolis Aquatennial. Fireworks were being shot off like 7 blocks away. We read that these were a top 5 in the nation type of thing....and when I asked another employee at the desk how to get there, he was moderately rude--didn't know what I was talking about and acted like I was interrupting his overly busy day. Then when I told him where they were (Stone Arch Bridge) but we didn't know how to get there, he non-nonchalantly said "oh just like 5 blocks over there." Okay--I'm staying in a hotel. I'm obviously not from here. A little detail would be nice, but sorry to bother. Overall--a great experience. Most affordable hotel downtown w/ a long list of amenities. Parking (on a street level lot) was only $9/day (in and out). It was a straight shot 15 minute walk to Target Field....looking forward to returning in the future!

In town for a conference. The Best Western is it unlike other high-rise hotels in the downtown area. Shuttle service to the Guthrie, Twins games, and other downtown locations. Great service, great location. Would stay here again!

STay at this Hotel was not good.. Checking was a problem too we paid cash the counter had all kinds of problems getting our money figured out... Stay at Hotel was not great you need to step it up.. So please some type of compensation I think would be inline here...

You can't go wrong with this hotel. It's got everything! Good food in the restaurant, an indoor pool and hot tub, charming ambience and fabulous staff make this hotel a winner! Our 5-day stay here was wonderful!

Very accommodating staff. The prices for extras (parking, pet fees) were manageable and the location was really great. We'd definitely stay at this location again, and check out the downstairs restaurant, which looked great as well.

I first visited this "Grand Hotel" in the 1970s, and was impressed, way back then, and I still am, some 40+ years later. The same great hotel, and the same great service. This is not a hotel for those looking for a new, high-rise downtown, with 100s of rooms to choose from. I like it because of its old world look and feel, with up-to-date top-notch service to boot. Parking and check-in is a breeze (as it should be!), and it is a very easy location to navigate, inside and out. I personally prefer the two-room suites, but I think I may break down and try a "regular" room in the future.:-) The pool area is still very nice, with a few pool-side accessible rooms available. The bar and restaurant area is cozy and capable, and there are numerous other restaurants nearby, within easy walking distance. This top-notch hotel reminds me so much of the Orleans in Las Vegas. It just keeps getting older.....and, better! An absolute bargain!

The Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis is the perfect place to stay if you are in town for Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, or Lynx games. It is a very easy 6-7 block walk to all three stadiums. We prefer to pay the $9 parking per night at the Normandy and enjoy the walk or shuttle to and from the games. The hotel staff has always gone out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The suites are large and comfortable (love the huge tiled shower with glass door!) and we have yet to run into any problems with our rooms, the pool, or the restaurant/lounge.

We stayed here for two nights. I decided to stay here based on the reviews & location. They have done a great job of preserving the look and feel of historic hotel yet with modern rooms and amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Security I imagine is an issue after dark as we had a little issue getting in after dark. We had a encounter with a man trying to get a hotel room but since he did not have a reservation already they were giving him a little trouble getting in to the hotel. They keep the back doors at lobby locked after dark. We were going in at the same time as him. I understand and respect the policy to keep everyone safe but I felt uncomfortable for the way he was treated and so did the rest of my family. We did not have to show any type of identification to get into the place nor did the guy behind us. I am sure there is more to all of this but from our perspective it appeared to be racial profiling. The man eventually did stay at the hotel as we saw him the next day in the lobby. We went with the two queen bed suite which had a kitchenette and small living room/sitting area with chairs, couch, and TV. VERY spacious room. The room had a long hallway to separate the room from the rest of the place. Large bathroom with very nice big shower with glass enclosure. Also with vanity outside of bathroom. This is so nice when 4 people are trying to get showered and ready to go out. Beds were comfortable. They had a glass pitcher in the room to fill up water from the filtered water in the hall. We really liked this. Also, we enjoyed the morning coffee in the lobby and the cookies and milk at 10pm also in the lobby. The lobby had sitting areas and chess table to lounge (we did not have time to but looked nice). We did not have the time to try out the pool and spa but stopped in for a look and it was very nice. Had plenty of chairs and sitting area, and a pool bath. 10 minute walk from hotel to the restaurants we went to. We felt safe during the walk (and we are not often city goers). If ever in the area again we will be back, as it overall was a nice place to stay.

If you want a friendly reception and feel as if you were the only guest at this hotel, come to the Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis. It's a quiet place for a quiet night on a mattress that feels like a cloud! Whenever I come, I like to stay in the same room, and whenever possible), the staff is very accommodating. The Normandy Kitchen is very well known for its excellent cuisine and fine wines, and there is a tranquil ambience everywhere. I like to have friends over for a meal when I'm in town, and they thoroughly enjoy the food and the professional service. I rate it a 10 in all categories!

From the outside the Normandy Inn looks a little tired and small as Minneapolis is going through some renewal for the 2018 Super Bowl. However, the room was clean and had tea and coffee facilities. Pool and hot tub to ourselves most of the time with the sun coming in through the atrium. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Food in the restaurant was good too. Definitely somewhere to go back to.

Everything about our stay was enjoyable. The commute back and forth to the convention center was taken care of by the hotel shuttle. Food was very good on the restaurant and and the staff in the bar were really friendly and helpful.

Stayed for 10 days to attend the Jr. Volleyball National Tournament and had an excellent experience. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and in spite of the hotel being full it was very quiet. Fantastic shower too. Maid service was excellent as well. Close proximity to everything.

Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They offered a shuttle to the convention center and Target Field baseball stadium. Great proximity to convention center. Within walking distance to restaurants. The hotel restaurant had good food, a nice little indoor outdoor seating option. The weather was so nice during my stay we sat outside. Compared to other hotels it was much more affordable for the area.

This is the BEST hotel in downtown, hands down. Many of my friends were staying at other places, but our hotel was amazing. Clean, well kept, the friendliest and most helpful staff, quiet, and wonderful amenities. The shuttle to the convention center was extremely helpful. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was relaxing. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Everything here is top notch. Would stay again.

Hotel was beautiful and check in (evening) crew was exceptional! They gave us tips and helped us navigate the shuttle to the Twins game. Check out (day) crew was less than accommodating and not helpful at all. We tried to eat breakfast at the Restaurant who could have cared less about a serious food allergy and the waitress was horrible!!

The hotel staff are second to none. I've stayed in this hotel many times over the last five years and each time is a wonderful experience. Staying at the Normandy Inn has made each trip to Minneapolis a pleasure. It is easy walking distance to the baseball and football stadiums, the convention center, and the river front. I can easily recommend this hotel to anyone.

I love this place! The employees could not do enough to make my stay pleasant. Great pool with comfortable seating area. Bar and restaurant is decent or you can always walk a short distance to other excellent dining options. Newly remodeled rooms. Best value in downtown Minneapolis!

All the staff we dealt with were extremely helpful. Very near to restaurants, night life and freeways. Right downtown but a traditional looking 4 story building with a friendly feeling not an austere highrise.

Room was great. The staff was amazing...........everyone was so friendly, and accomadating. Used the shuttle to baseball games at Target Field. I would recommend this to everyone, and we will stay here again. Great location downtown.

An older hotel, in a good downtown location, with a wonderful staff. The rooms a fairly quiet but some television sound comes in. The fitness room is small but all equipment is new. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

This hotel definitely has more personality than your typical corporate hotel. However, unlike some corporate hotels, the staff is great, and the restaurant is fantastic. The rooms are nice, as are the amenities. It's not connected via a walkway like a lot of Minneapolis buildings, but I wouldn't let that stop you from staying there.

It has been so long since I experienced real customer service. This place has it! Lynette went above and beyond to see that my room and all amenities were perfect. When the cab was late, one of the staff drove me to my meeting in their shuttle. They have filtered water! Thank you folks for knowing and showing excellent customer service. From an Annapolis traveler.

This hotel was a very place to stay. Stayed elsewhere night before and was an extreme upgrade staying here. Definitely would recommend to others and will stay again next time in Minneapolis for an event.

Room was immaculate, classy, and comfortable. Parking was convenient. The walk to Target Field for Twins game was pleasant. Only downside was the bar closes at 11 pm so we couldn't have a post-game nightcap.

Wonderful hotel. We had tickets for the theater and was shuttled back and forth in a very timely manner. All staff were very professional but also very warm and friendly. You could not go wrong in choosing this hotel.

The Best Western is in the perfect location for visiting! It is close the the train, Target Field (a must!), Mall of America, and the list goes on. I would recommend it to anyone. We were visiting my daughter and we had not complaints.

Wonderful staff -- caring very courteous. The outside of the hotel is a little dated. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. I had a great nights sleep in my king size bed! The location is central especially if you are doing business with any of the downtown companies.

This hotel is situated in a perfect area of mpls to get anywhere in the city the hotel has a curtesy van which is available almost anytime, great staff go out if there way to make your stay perfect great value with all the right touches

our favorite down town hotel. Parking is the easiest of all the down town hotels. Staff is always one of the best.... just a nice relaxing hotel.. we stay here almost every time we're in the Minneapolis area... every time if we're Down town. We have stay in most of the down town Hotels but the Normandy's our favorite...

I love the fact that the rooms in this hotel are suites. It makes it much easier to work and not feel like you are trapped in a room. I like the decor and the fact that it is not the same hotel in just another city. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the servers are very attentive. Don't miss the beef/veal/pork meatloaf - amazing! I also like that I can walk the few blocks from the hotel to the business where I am working. Great value for the room rate. Next trip I plan to explore the area.
