Fantastic atmosphere in the main lobby area. Well maintained, with friendly front desk staff and maintence. Even the housekeeping was friendly. Not too far from the Nicollet Mall, lots of resturants to chose from, including a hotel/resturant. Price was average given current time period as well as it being a weekend with high room demand. Only issue I have was the cleanliness of the bathroom shower, otherwise it was an amazing experience. Only noise is that of a bustling city, expected sfx include: Emergency Service Vehicles and bad drivers. (This review was not written by AI, but a guest.)

The hotel is ancient. The beds are awful. The pool had so much chlorine it literally burned my eyes just to walk into the atrium. The prices for drinks and snacks was more than double. The air conditioning didn't work at all in room 308. The air conditioning was leaking onto the carpet in room 304. The only room that was acceptable was 309. I bought 3 rooms, for 3 days to attend my mother's funeral. We were able to use 1 room, the others were trash. The manager refunded room 308. Do not waste your money here, it's hot and it's not comfortable at all. Peeling wall paper. There was a pile of cat litter in the bathroom floor in 309. Unacceptable.

We booked three poolside rooms for my brother's birthday because we've stayed at this hotel many times before and always had a good experience. Sadly, this stay was nothing like our previous visits. The first thing we noticed was the ants. All three rooms had ants around the nightstands, ants near their auto coffee maker, and there were ants in the pool area as well. The pool itself was fine, but the seating area around it was unbearably hot because the ventilation system wasn't working. It was so uncomfortable that no one wanted to sit there and enjoy the area. Check-in didn't get things off to a great start either. Patrick told us we couldn't use our first responder discount and that we weren't allowed to pay for the rooms in cash. Throughout the weekend it was obvious the hotel was severely understaffed. We rarely saw any employees, and the one staff member we did see was running everywhere trying to do everything himself. Two of our rooms also had air conditioning problems. We reported it, but were told the A/C was working and that it would eventually fix itself. It never did. One room never got cooler than 78°F, and another kept bouncing between 80°F and 74°F. It made sleeping very uncomfortable. Calling the front desk didn't help because most of the time no one answered the phone. To make things worse, one of the poolside rooms we had specifically reserved was changed to a room in one of the towers, away from the rest of our group. Since we had booked these rooms together to celebrate my brother's birthday, this was really disappointing. At checkout we asked if the room rate could be adjusted because we didn't receive the accommodations we reserved. Alex, who was introduced as the on-site manager, told us he couldn't adjust the rate or deal with any of our concerns. Instead, he said the general manager would have to contact us. I called for two days, and I get an answering machine. I'm still waiting for that call. I find it hard to believe that on a busy Sunday morning there wasn't a manager on site with the authority to resolve guest issues before they left. It's disappointing because this used to be one of our favorite places to stay. Between the ants, the broken air conditioning, the uncomfortable pool seating area, being moved out of one of our reserved poolside rooms, the lack of staff, and the lack of management support, this was easily our worst stay here. We won't be coming back unless major changes are made.

With the trash lined hallways at check-in, to the understaffed restaurant (that had TWO bartenders that gave TWO sh!ts about the server being in the weeds), to the hairy shower I bathed in, and the dismissive attitude about it all, my impression is they don't seem to care with what goes wrong. They already took your money, and they'll wait to take the next suckers.

Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was attractive and well appointed. The restaurant was small and cozy and the hotel was in a good location

Rented 2 rooms. Checked in and the thermostat was at 80. Turned on the air and quickly figured out the air wasn't working. Called the front desk and they sent someone up at 4. He stated he didn't really know what he was doing and would come back. He never came back. Came back from and event at 10:30 and the room was even hotter. The thermostat was working, but the air was clearly not. We asked to be moved with no luck. They stated they had no one that could work on the issue, move our rooms, or even discuss a price adjustment. Would definitely not recommend

We attended Morgan Wallen's second show and chose this hotel for its convenient location to U.S. Bank Stadium and lower prices. I hoped for a clean room and an acceptable place to rest my head, but this ended up exceeding my expectations in every way possible. The biggest strength was the staff's efficiency and friendliness. Although another concert occurred the night before we stayed, which led to sold-out nights, the hotel accommodated an early check-in at 2:30 pm. In recent years, we have noticed check-ins are commonly delayed at other brands due to short-staffing. The staff worked hard to meet everyone's needs and were extremely hospitable. Cleanliness was another strength. Many hotels struggle to keep the facilities clean on concert nights. The Normandy is an exception. This entire hotel was immaculate. It smelled like the carpets in the hallways were recently shampooed, and we never found dirt anywhere. Even after the concert in the morning, we did not spot a single piece of trash and saw multiple employees cleaning early in the day. Our room was also well-maintained. The standard rooms are generously sized for a downtown hotel, and the beds were very comfortable. Like the rest of the hotel, it was spotless. This hotel does not provide free breakfast (quite rare for a Best Western), but they have an on-site restaurant. It was also built in the 1920s, and they take pride in maintaining touches of historic charm throughout the property. The lobby and public areas were much nicer than I expected and felt like those of an upscale hotel. Parking is in an outdoor lot on-site at $15 per night (much less than neighboring hotels). They have nightly cookies and milk (which I missed). If you are looking for a low-stress stay in downtown, close to any of the stadiums, this is definitely your best option. We have stayed at multiple neighboring hotels, but those stays were not as smooth as this one. I will stay here every time I can when I visit the Twin Cities.

Was assigned this hotel for a volleyball tournament. Everything was great until it wasn't. They held our suitcase after checkout so we could head to the tournament which was great. When we returned to collect it my daughter handed the tag to the women who then said our suitcase wasn't there and we had the wrong ticket. The ticket had been in my pocket since it was given to me that morning so there was no way I had a wrong ticket. There was a similar looking suitcase that the tag didn't match we tried to point out and we're just met with that was not our suitcase and no concern about finding ours. Because of this I asked if she could check the luggage tag against my ID and she told me “that just won't work for me.” We asked for the tag back because we still needed our luggage because she had kept it yet we still needed our suitcase. Then when we were finally allowed to look at it was not ours. She then proceeded to say there was another room with suitcases and then to be spiteful rearranged the entire room of suitcases before proceeding to go look in the other room for ours. It ended up being in the other storage room. Thankfully we weren't in a rush to catch our flight. VERY discourteous and unprofessional employee full of attitude who shouldn't be working in a hospitality industry. Could have been quickly cleared up by saying let me get everyone's bags out of here and go look in the other storage room but we were met with attitude and no attempt to rectify the situation the entire time.

Have stayed here many times. The hotel is always consistent. Staff is friendly, hot tub decent, sauna great. Some older rooms, some newer rooms. It has always been clean and comfortable.

First time staying at a hotel and was very satisfied. We were attending an event at MSP Convention Center. It was at a convenient location, and the hotel provided a shuttle to the convention center. The staff was very helpful. Room clean and spacious. We had a two-room suite with a king bed. Very clean. Paid for parking at the hotel in a surface lot that I prefer to parking in ramps. We ate supper in on-stie restaurant. The waiter told us of options that were not on the menu. That was great, seeing that we wanted something light, and he recommended splitting a turkey club sandwich. It was plenty and even had leftovers. I would definitely recommend and stay there again if in downtown MSP.

I made the reservation for my great granddaughter the day they arrived. She was scheduled to have surgery the next day. They did not arrive until late in the evening. The front desk was very welcoming and extended the pool time so she could go swimming. Thank you so much for your kindness.

This hotel was absolutely cute, adorable, and amazing. Very warm and cozy feeling. All the staff was exceptional! Loved having a bar/restaurant on property. Also walking distance to football and baseball stadiums. We will definitely stay here in the futue!

The bed was amazingly comfortable (one of the best I've experienced in a hotel), and the room layout was stylish, functional, and very well thought out. I especially appreciated the ability to prep meals during my stay — such a bonus for a workweek routine. ⭐ Amenities: • Gym: The equipment is fine, but it really needs a deep clean. Machines, mirrors, and baseboards could all use attention. The hallway to the gym is extremely dark and has a dungeon-like feel — not very welcoming. • Pool & Hot Tub: The pool area is neat, but noise from guests went well past quiet hours (11 PM), which was difficult when my suite faced the pool and I had early mornings. On multiple visits, the hot tub was also full, often with one or two families taking over the space, making it hard for other guests to enjoy. ⭐ Room Cleanliness: While the property has clearly been renovated and updated, the rooms could benefit from a deep clean and some cosmetic touch-ups. For example, the headboard had visible handprints, and the bathroom needed a more detailed cleaning. ✨ Overall: Despite some areas for improvement (mainly around cleanliness and noise), I had a great stay thanks to the amazing staff and comfortable, well-designed rooms. I would absolutely stay again, especially because of how welcoming and attentive the team is.

I have stayed here multiple times over the years. It has been a few years since my last stay. The pool area is very nice with furniture and they have added a ping pong table, which was quite popular during my stay. Just outside the pool they have added a complimentary coffee machine. I believe you can get 6 types of coffee. The room was sufficient, bathroom was small,the bed was comfortable. Elevators are slow. There is a $15.00 daily parking fee. There is also a $100 hold on your reservation that will be refunded if no damage to room. Check in is quite efficient. There were 10-12 guest waiting to check in when I arrived and in 10 minutes I was on the way to the room. There is a restaurant on site. The menu's are limited. The classic breakfast was good, I had ham omelette next day, could used more ham. Maybe 30 small pieces of ham. The HenryIII hamburger is quite filling. You also get a generous amount of fries. Pricing isn't bad for downtown Mpls. I would recommend getting the bed and breakfast option when making reservations if you can. It will save you money.

Location is perfect for the downtown area. Close to the Vikings and Twins stadiums. Beds are comfortable. The staff goes above expectation when any issues arise. We've stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions now and have enjoyed the stays.

The staff was 10/10 amazing! Latoya and Patrick made the stay absolutely exceed expectations. Our room was clean and comfortable (pillows are not great so bring your own if you like a fluffy pillow). We did stay in a suite, which elevated the experience, and really appreciate that this hotel still has the amenities of a fridge and microwave in the room. The location was a convenient 10-15 minute walk to the Convention Centre and Target Field which were frequent destinations for us. The shuttle service was also handy. Honestly, this stay makes me want to return!

We had a nice if brief stay here after our flight was cancelled @ midnight & we got a hotel voucher for a layover. Joe was working solo at the counter when a ton of us from the flight arrived & he was very friendly, helpful & efficient. Rooms are comfortable, the hotel is nice inside with a great looking restaurant & a pool we didn't get to use. I would stay here again when I return to Minneapolis.

The Normandy Inn is our go to place when we are visiting Minneapolis. The downtown location is great - within walking distance of the Viking Stadium, Target Field, Target Center and the metro rail. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. And don't forget nightly milk and chocolate chip cookies at 10:00. You won't be disappointed.

Cool hotel! We loved the historic ambiance. Room was very clean. Staff was very nice and accommodating! Decided to stay an extra day which was no problem. Pool area was clean and relaxing. Bar had good food and cocktails. Great location to restaurants and shopping.

Great hotel! I would stay here again. Bed was comfortable. Loved the room darkening shades. Everyone was friendly. The location was about a half mile from the ballpark. We ended up taking the shuttle which was great. We were only blocks away from some great bars and restaurants. Parking on site for $15 a night. We felt that was reasonable.

Charming and friendly and they provide "milk and cookies" at 10pm, where there is a queue for the freshly-baked delicious biscuits (not an American reviewer here). The pool was a delight.

An extremely well-maintained hotel. At 100 years of age, it has old world charm but looks like it was just built new! For a downtown facility in a big city, it has convenient parking that allows one to come and go. The rooms are well supplied with everything one needs. And where else can you get milk and cookies at 10:00 P.M. every day?

This is a charming hotel with character, a great staff, very clean & visually interesting. Felt very safe, elevators in good working order, comfy beds, amazing shower, walking distance to US Bank Stadium, Hell's Kitchen and the Hen House (all recommended!), easy parking and unloading, cool bar and dining room, and complimentary nightly warm cookies & milk. Far exceeded our expectations and we loved our 3-night stay! Will definitely return!

My wife and I stayed there when we went to the Post Malone Concert at U.S. Bank Stadium. The room was clean and comfortable. The check-in process was smooth as the staff at the front desk were very friendly. Parking is available on site and we had no issues with that. We would definitely stay there again.

I never write a review for hotels...but this one exceeded my expectations. Guest staff, including those in training" were phenominal. The facilities are up to date for being a historic 100 year old hotel. I would only go here when visiting Minneapolis...The price was perfect. There are many other hotels within a mile, but they all cost 2-3x for equal amenities. The Skywalk is a block away and has ten miles of indoor walking paths to within a block of the best restaurants and the convention center. If you like to explore, and walk around Minneapolis in any season, this is the perfect hotel for the price.

This hotel looks as good in person as it does in it's website photos. That's unusual. I loved my stay. I went to three baseball games at Target Field. It's a 25 minute walk, but for those non-walkers, the light rail is only 3 blocks away. The parking lot is at street level. It's self parking and at street level, none of that inconvenient valet parking. The charge was $15 with in and out privileges. For those flying in and not renting a car, the light rail only takes about 25 minutes from the airport to Government Plaza. Then a short 3 block walk and your at the Normandy Inn. The staff is very nice and helpful. They made the check-in out procedures go smoothly, and they were eager to help even during busy times. If you like cheeseburgers, try the Henry VIII burger at the Normandy Kitchen. The next day I wanted pizza. My expectations were low because this isn't a pizza joint, but the Margarita pizza was as tasty as the burger. The pool is indoors and people seemed to be enjoying it. The hot tub was inoperable during my 3 night stay. I'm hoping to stay there again when I attend a Vikings game this fall.

The Hotel was very clean and very close to the event we were attending; beds were very comfortable; pool area was clean and a nice large area to just sit in. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Latoya, she made us feel very welcomed, she always had a smile answered every question we asked she alone would make me chose this Hotel again.

Quinn and the team are amazing and so helpful. Our kids said this was the best hotel because at 10pm they serve milk and cookies and everyone needs that before bed. It's a quick walk to the stadium and very easy to get to from the interstate. Also the restaurant attached is very nice.

First time staying here & will not be the last. Stayed two nights due to attending a concert at The Armory. Check in was easy & was recognized as a rewards member (which doesn't happen very often). Was pleasantly surprised when we went up to our room & were upgraded to a suite! The room was nice & spacious. Nice that you have in/out privileges for parking. We enjoyed the cookies & milk at 10pm down in the lobby. All the front desk staff were very friendly & helpful. Would recommend & will stay here again!

DO NOT STAY HERE. We were there for a volleyball tournament. There was only 1 working elevator and no stairs leading down to a lobby from our room (363). The only stairs available from our floor went to an emergency exit. On the day we were checking out and everyone was leaving, ALL elevators were not working and they made everyone take the emergency exit stairs down. The food in the restaurant was TERRIBLE. The server had no idea about the menu when we asked him questions. All food that we wanted they were out of. And the worst part, which I am livid about, is that I accidentally left my families coats in the closet. When I called, 24 hours later and verified no one had checked into our room after our departure, I was told there were no coats found in our room. I know that is a 100% lie because I took our coats, but we didn't use them so they were in that closet. I came home, 7 hours away, and saw I forgot them but apparently they think I lost them inside the car or something because "we didn't find them" is their only response. Clearly their staff of housekeepers are liars and thieves. I will be reporting this to the police because the value of those coats is $400+. I will also be letting every single website I can get ahold of, along with the volleyball housing company, know what I have experienced. In my 9 years of traveling for volleyball I have NEVER experienced this much horriddness. I cannot even express how mad I am at this hotel, especially with the lying, stealing staff.

I was recommended to stay here for a vikings game and very excited to stay. The hotel was decent. My issue came when i was hit with a 100 charge from the restaurant to my room when i never stepped foot in the restaurant. A week has gone by and they are “still looking into it.” It doesn't take more than a day to find a receipt and confirm i never signed it. What was supposed to be a great weekend celebrating my birthday has caused me so much stress.

This hotel is outstanding. I have been staying here for 5+ years. The staff is really great. They are willing to help you if you ever have a concern. The location is close to almost everything. The bar/restaurant is very good also. I really enjoy the breakfast here and prices are compatible with other restaurants. The beds are SO comfortable. The roons are clean and in everything is in working order. One cannot go wrong by staying at this hotel.

This is my sixth stay here. It is truly a warm, classic hotel with a European feel. Real glasses, actual bath size towels, a Keurig in the room, filtered water stations on every floor. subtle lighting, a pool, hot tub, sauna, fabulous fitness room, exceptional restaurant. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Lets not forget the cookies and milk every night. Christmas decor was exquisite.

This is our third stay at the Normandy hotel and we love it. It's cosy and comfortable, the staff are super helpful and the location is perfect for Target Centre. Elevators all working fine during our stay. We enjoy the Hen House nearby for brunch.

i was very disappointed with this hotel. It was not clean, elevator did not work and we had to wait 40 mins to finally get to our room, we paid a lot of money for this hotel and was very disappointed. There was a wierd odor in the lobby as well as in the rooms.

The Normandy is a CLASSIC... immaculate, hospitable, spacious, beautifully decorated... Suites are well-appointed, marvelous. All personnel helpful and welcoming. Restaurant idyllic, beautiful. Perfect location downtown; parking on site superb. Indoor Pool and hottub/recreation area is great. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Minneapolis!

This hotel is stellar.... The staff are super friendly and helpful. We had 2 nights booked and decided that we liked the hotel and location so much that we added 2 more nights (total 4 nights). The rooms were very comfortable - bed and pillows! The location is awesome - a few blocks from some amazing restaurants/pubs as well as the Blue Line which we took twice to the North American Mall. The skywalk is about a block away as well. The staff also served cookies (yes chocolate chip!) with milk which was a big attraction on the weekend... We are already planning a trip for the Summer so we can see what Minneapolis looks like in the Summer and we will definitely be staying at the Normandy again.

This was a love-hate experience. For starters, this is a decent hotel with a lovely, helpful staff. The room was large and had plenty of space, including a desk and lounge chair. The decor is a bit outdated and we found some popcorn seeds around the room. It turns out housekeeping doesn't come every day and they don't always vacuum the floors. We also didn't love the bed covering because it felt outdated, and the pillows were flat like pancakes. The bed itself is huge and very comfortable. We also liked the bathroom layout and that they gave out little body lotions with a lemony scent. We stayed here for almost a week to attend a wedding and used the remaining time to work remotely before making our way to another destination. The rooms were set up nicely to work but what ruined the experience was that our room faced the pool. The pool opens at 5am and closes at 10pm. At 5am sharp, apparently there are parents who think it's a good idea to teach their kids to swim then and those kids just screamed their heads off for hours. Other guests were annoyed, and there was almost a confrontation. The room has no soundproofing from this. You can hear entire conversations 3 floors up, so it feels like all this is happening right outside the window. It was not fun to wake up to this every morning. Thankfully, we were not in the room much and there is a work space that was slightly quieter. The room service menu has a QR code that doesn't work. I would go downstairs in between meetings to get food and a coffee. The coffee is $6 in the hotel restaurant. The food is mediocre at best but on a cold day, you're basically stuck. The pancakes were probably the best thing on the menu. We would get a box most mornings. They were fairly flat but the box was big enough for 2 people. We also liked that the room came with a jug and we could get purified water at the end of the hall, and that water was very refreshing. We might have had bad luck with the screaming kids at the pool, but we probably won't risk staying here again. We did not sleep well all week, and I hope whoever designed this mess also lives at this hotel and doesn't get any rest. For a week after, we honestly had nightmares about this screaming.

Great bar and popovers. Love the ambiance. But… did you profile Jamie Kennedy? Kick him out after he'd done a show that very night? Wow. Bananas. That's embarrassing for Minneapolis, in general. Super disappointed that the hotel he was talking about was yours. :(. Won't be back.

We booked this hotel at random because it was close to the Armory where we were seeing a concert and I was so glad I chose it. The room was spacious and comfortable. The pool area was lovely. This hotel has lots of nice little touches like cookies and milk for the guests at 10:00 every night, and an umbrellas in the lobby for guests to use. Location is central and close to lots of amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

My favorite place to stay in downtown Minneapolis. Good location, parking is convenient. Self-contained, in that there is a good restaurant (French-themed) with a good wine list. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is an indoor pool and workout area. I've stayed here a number of times for business. I can't remember having a problem. Cool vibe, I like it.

Stayed here 3 nights and found the location to be perfect. The staff was extremely helpful when we had trouble with streaming on our tv. The rooms and decor are a bit dated but everything is very clean and comfortable. Parking was a nearby surface lot and cost $15 per day which was very reasonable. We did wish some form of continental breakfast was included or at least a discount at the restaurant.

The two-room suite, with two double beds and a fold-out couch was perfect for three guys visiting Minneapolis for a Twins game. Are room seems very recently remodeled. Everything worked and the staff was attentive. Would definitely return.

The other reviews were right on - loved the reverse osmosis water pitcher. Room was very clean. Close to many restaurants. Bar was fun. Amazing architecture in the area. Peavy Plaza was a fun find with all the waterfalls. Ping pong looked fun - pool was great.

Wonderfully restored old hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Staff were all super helpful - they let us know the hotel has a free shuttle to Target Field which was awesome. Pool area is great! The restaurant/bar in the hotel was good too! Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel told me I didn't have a reservation. At 7 am a staff member entered the room without knocking or announcing. I yelled out but got no response. Desk staff laughed and mocked me for complaining. Manager promised refund which never happened. As someone living with PTSD, I have been traumatized to the point where shake at the thought of the experience.

Love the Normandy! We have stayed at this Best Western a dozen times. Excellent location, great service, not a cookie cutter hotel. We stay there when going to target field, two blocks from light rail, they also have a shuttle to the Twins games. It's also nice that parking Is surface not in a garage :-)

The Normandy Inn is a great place to stay when heading to a Vikings game. It is a decent walk to and from US Bank Stadium. The staff is superb and do their best to take care of you! (We also stayed here for the Prep Bowl and they were very accommodating.)

It was a great hotel, it was an emergency. My flight was canceled. I will add the shuttle bus to pick up from the airport. They currently do not. That would be a plus. The restaurant was very good. The food was good and the customer service was great.

The hotel itself is awesomely maintained. it is very, very clean. The staff is wonderful. However, every night at 1000PM they have freshly made, warm cookies, and a cup of milk for everyone. How awesome are they? It is perfectly located to be downtown walkable, and the parking fee is the lowest we have found for downtown MSP.

The hotel is located in downtown Minneapolis but I was there over the 4th of July holiday so it was very quiet. The furniture in the room has seen better days and it's time for the furniture to be replaced. As a solo traveler, it was fine for a two-night stay. Parking was an extra $15 which wasn't bad as they give you in-and-out privileges. Hotel has a restaurant that I did not try but it looked like a nice place to grab a meal or a drink. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel due to a billing issue. When our group checked in, the receptionist (Angela?) collected cash from my aunt, but my uncle's credit card was also charged. Despite numerous emails requesting a review of the surveillance footage, the hotel manager, Alexander, vaguely denied that any cash was taken. The manager's response showed no effort to resolve the issue. When we asked for video evidence, we were told, "this is not something I can assist with." The hotel's dismissive attitude and repeated denials make me question the integrity of the staff. We plan to consult others to determine if this might be a scam by the hotel employees

The manager failed to provide reasonable explanation of double charge happening at the hotel. The hotel reception person (Angela?!?) collected cash from my wife upon the group's check in. At the same time, my credit card was charged. After many emails inquiring about surveillances check, got the response from the hotel manager Alexander that there was no cash collected. Such a generic reply, no effort to work out the case. Inquiring a video footage, but “this is not something I can assist.” Don't see that the hotel will verify the case since the answers were no, we don't see, no it did not happen. Will seek thoughts from others if this is a scam by the hotel staffs.

The hotel was nice, clean, nothing fancy. But the staff!! They made the experience amazing!! So kind, friendly and helpful.

We booked The Normandy Inn for the weekend of the US Gymnastic Trials. Thousands of young girls and boys were in town to compete in other gymnastics events and watch the trials. For some reason, The Normandy Inn thought flying rainbow pride flags outside was appropriate. Some of the staff wore rainbow ties and shirts and accessories. One of the front desk staff was a woman trying to act like a man. Why does a hotel need to promote indecency and degeneracy? Why does it need to speak about sexuality at all, much less when thousands of kids are in town? My rating isn't solely about the pride garbage. The rooms were old and dank. It took hours to get our requested rollaway bed brought up. The restaurant was slow and overpriced. The staff weren't rude, but they weren't well-trained and didn't appear competent. The parking lot wasn't policed as we found needles, syringes, and empty pill bottles in it more than once. The shuttle service was slow and limited. I will not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone, certainly not families with young children.

I've stayed at this location twice, and we were very pleased with the hotel, amenities, and,service on all levels. This is an older property, but you would never know it except for its exquisite charm. Room and all areas are modern with a rich, vintage feel. Dark wood, brick, vintage furniture, and candlelight grace the hallways. Rooms are very spacious, and beds are extremely comfortable. Large bathroom area with separate room for toilet and large tile and glassed-in shower. Large, secure parking area. Close to many area attractions including US Bank Stadium. Restaurant/lounge area is quaint but cozy, and service is excellent with a nice selection on the menu. Fully stocked pantry near registration with food and basic necessity items available for purchase at anytime. Beautiful pool and spa area (although we didn't use it on our stays). I highly recommend this property and I'm sure we'll be staying there again on a future trip.

A great experience! The room was nice-it faced the courtyard with the pool. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. Pool and spa were very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a safe place to walk around. We would definitely recommend this hotel. We did not use the restaurant, but walked to the Hen House for breakfast-it was outstanding!

Situated near the center of the city, my family and I had a quiet, clean and peaceful nights rest at the Normandy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an old world vibe in the middle of the modern city.

Antiques and restored buildings are great but the furniture in the guest room was old and dirty. Shuttle was inconsistent. Restaurant and parking overpriced. Only the water is free. We wanted a downtown hotel for access to the the cities events and activities but this one really missed the mark.

AC did not work properly for several people in our party “because our hotel is old.” Next to a police station so sirens throughout the night. Staff was friendly and responsive. Fridge did not work. Small bathroom area.

The Normandy is a great place to stay. From check-in to checkout, I really enjoyed myself and the hotel. The staff was great, the food/drink, very good. It's convenient to everything. The one thing that should never be overlooked is the helpfulness of the staff. The BW staff goes above and beyond and that speaks volumes. In my opinion, the only place yo stay in Minneapolis.

We've always stayed at the Normandy when coming to town for sporting events. Throughout the years, it hasn't changed much but that's what makes it great. The entire hotel is immaculate.

We were on a bicycle tour when we arrived at this Best Western. Staff were friendly and helpful. They readily found a safe place in the hotel to store our bicycles. We asked questions of multiple staff. All were helpful and contributed to an enjoyable 3 night stay.

Hit with $15 parking fee and $100 security fee when checking I'm. Zero notice. Remote missing and internet wasn't working.

The Normandy Best Western was a beautiful place. The lobby was impressive and the front desk employee was very friendly. The room was big and spacious. I have extensive housekeeping experience and I did not find any issues with cleanliness. The only inconvenience was that breakfast was not a free continental breakfast, much like other hotels.

I first night I went to the restaurant to get a to go order. I waited for a while. The bartender passed me off to a waitress and then passed me off again. After receiving my order, the waitress handed me the bill and walked away. I had to track her down to pay. The whole experience took well over an hour. I found a box of condoms in my room. 2 out of the 3 days I was there. I had no hot water to take a shower. The first parking pass they gave me didn't work. I had three cars behind me that had to back up and let me go back into the parking lot so I could receive another pass.

The Best Western Plus Normandy Inn is our favorite hotel in downtown Minneapolis. It is walking distance from arenas and theaters. We love the cozy decor and comfy corners throughout the hotel where you can visit, play cards, read, or even play chess. My kids love the homey touch of warm cookies and milk at 10pm in the lobby...even as teens they look forward to this. Service has always been wonderful and we choose this hotel every time we can. Highly recommended.

Everything and more commendations I would recommend staying here to all my friends and family. The location was perfect smack in the middle of Minneapolis

We switched rooms two nights in due to the mattress conditions. That and the furniture in the room appeared to have been there for quite a few years. The bathrooms from the rooms we saw appeared to have been newly redone. The suites were small considering the price so wouldn't recommend going for those unless you need a fridge. A couple of upgrades would make this a great hotel

I checked in after midnight and was greeted by a cordial security guard who directed me to the reception desk. My check in process was smooth and efficient. The staff working was kind and courteous. The room was clean, the bed comfy and the surroundings were quiet. The hotel has gated parking with a security guard onsite during the day beginning early in the morning. Check out was just as efficient. I would stay here again.

Really comfortable stay; Shady section of Mpls downtown; Reasonable rate on-site parking with in/out privileges. Hot tub was warm & open until 11pm. Poor restaurant experience. 1. King Suite, with ensuite & separate bedroom door, was spacious and nicely appointed* (included kitchen basics, utensils, Keurig/coffee selections, electric tea kettle**, microwave, tiny fridge/freezer, paper towels, dish scrubber & soap). Independent central a/c and heat worked wonderfully. *only trash can was in the bathroom; no bathroom vent. **could have used cocoa or tea in room. 2. Beautifully decorated 3 building hotel. There were several large groups booked during my stay, but the property was very quiet after 11pm. Reverse osmosis water unit by the ice machine was a nice feature. 3. Two security officers present during the evening hours. No card reader on exterior doors meant staff had to verify guest status prior to accessing property at night. Front desk & security staff were all very professional. 4. If you are an outdoor smoker, note there is heavy homeless traffic in front of the building. I recommend using the backdoor instead, and go to the parking area. (Seriously, I was asked by a homeless person in front at 11:30pm if I "was working"...) 5. The on-site restaurant was open until 10pm. Their menu was available online, without prices. 1 appetizer, 1 salad & 2 waters = $48 (before tip). I asked for coffee and still hadn't received it by the time my bill came; 2 other small tables occupied during my visit. (I won't be back.) 6. I booked directly, and requested late checkout at that time. I also requested late checkout when I completed the emailed precheck-in request. I asked the desk agent at 2:30am if my request was possible and was granted a noon time, which was helpful. Definitely followup Directly if you desire this accommodation since electronic communications seemed unmonitored in my case.

Super friendly customer service, they have room service, a bar& restaurant, pool and hot tub, fitness area, laundry, and milk and cookies served at night! Always my place to stay when I visit downtown

It is a very clean and centrally located in downtown Minneapolis. Close to everything. I love that it has parking right on the hotel property and it is gated. Only had an issue parking but that was during a Monday night Viking game that was going on.

After a long drive check in was a breeze. Quinn was amazing, friendly, and extremely welcoming. Cleanliness exceeded my expectations. For the price I'd consider it unmatched. Great location from amazing restaurants.

My husband and I went to Minneapolis for friend's birthday. They stayed down the street at another hotel, we stayed at the Normandy and we are glad we did. Parking was $15 for the night compared to the $60 our friends had to pay. We were upgraded to a Suite when I checked in and the Suite was like a little apartment complete with fridge, sink and microwave. We did not use the pool and hot tub, but it looked nice. All in all it was a wise investment and nice stay. All went smoothly. The restaurant closed early (at 8:30) on a Saturday which was a little disappointing, but all in all we would stay again.

From Check in to Check out it was seamless. Staff was kind and helpful, Food at Normandy restaurant was excellent. If you are a Best Western elite member the benefits of an upgrade and/or late check out here were well worth it and appreciated.

The Normandy never disappoints. Very friendly and helpful staff who accomodated all of our requests. Very convenient location and easy to get in and out of Minneapolis being right off 35W. Short walking distance to very good restaurants and bars.

The Best Western Plus Normandy is a great city hotel, with character, conveniently located 2 blocks from the Light Rail and walking distance to Target Field and Target Center. The room was spacious, clean, and secure. The staff was friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant had a limited menu but the food was delicious and service attentive.

Good: This is not a new, updated facility, but it's reasonably priced for a downtown and walkable to sights including the river, local train, city hall, and Guthrie Theatre. Pluses include a sink outside shower/toilet area. Luggage areas provide for 2 suitcases. A good number of outlets are accessible. Well equipped food and supplies are available in lobby and reasonable prices and a restaurant with varied menu for lunch and dinner is on site. Adequate reasonable ($15 a day) parking is adjacent. Our room was mostly quiet. So-So: The shower was problematic and needed fine adjustments for temperature and power. Disappointingly there was a refrigerator but no microwave. Better lighting needed in room. No breakfast. Poor: Help from sullen desk staff who seemed mostly unable to provide directions and were unhelpful with questions. They never mentioned they had a local map available (which we spotted in a case too late). One exception to this was Quinn who did his best to answer questions. A few restaurants are near-by but the only store we found was a Trader Jo's a few blocks away. NO other stores of ANY kind that we were able to find. We didn't ask the staff as they had trouble pointing us toward the Mississippi River 7 blocks away. (That map would have been quite helpful).

My husband was a few blocks away in the hospital. When I asked where to stay, a nurse suggested this hotel. It was a good suggestion. When I called to book a room, they were so accommodating on the phone. They even offered to pick me up and bring me there. I took advantage of their offer and used their van several times over the course of a few days. The hotel is very nice with a full service restaurant. It's got a great shower and was comfortable for the few days I stayed there. A shout out to Peter at the front desk who is a wonderful representative of the hotel.

The Normandy hotel is not only beautiful, it functions perfectly. There is definitely pride of ownership and it is evident everywhere. When we walk through the door we ‘feel at home' and always look forward to returning when we have to leave.

we have stayed in many hotels through the years and we were very impressed with the Best Western Normandy in Minneapolis. Very friendly and welcoming staff at the front desk and also at the beautiful bar. Very pretty and calming common areas. Purified water at the end of the hallway and Starbucks coffee in Keurigs in the rooms - parking is uncomplicated and easy and the overnight parking fee is phenomenal for Minneapolis. It's our new favorite hotel.

I love staying at the Normandy and have frequented this hotel regularly. This time was during NFL opener. The bartender was overworked and was rude. Otherwise a great location to stay. It is close to just about everything in my opinion; for my typical needs when visiting (concerts typically). The rooms are comfortable. The ambiance they create with the decor and nostalgia is very unique and enjoyable.

My second stay here. In town for a Vikings and a Twins game, we chose this spot based on my previous stay here. This is a great location. 6 blocks to US Bank stadium (walking distance), 3 blocks from the light rail which goes to the airport, Mall of America, and Target Field. You do not need to rent a car if you are flying in, and those places are your agenda. The staff is super friendly and serve milk and cookies at 10pm in the lobby (kind of their thing here). They have shuttles and a decent bar/restaurant on the first floor. They only have one tv which is a downer if you want to catch games and have a sports bar vibe. The vibe there is more throwback or European as the people and the atmosphere make the bar scene, which I prefer after a while personally. The decor is really cool, like a gothic Tudor. Recommend this hotel. Will return next time I'm in town.

Interesting place. Nice location, friendly staff on the reception side of things but the restaurant was another story. Very slow service. extremely expensive and the prices were not consistent. Each time we had a drink the cost was different. When quiried the gentleman at the bar did not like it and become rude. Other people on our cosmos tour notices the unusual pricing too. Put us off this hotel Flat layout, great pool area, mini market, elevators fine, clean rooms.

Charming older hotel that has been remodeled. We wanted a hotel within walking distance to the US Bank Stadium, which it was and served its purpose. The pool was shut down for cleaning Saturday afternoon, so we didn't get to use it much at all. The beds are on the more comfortable end of hotel beds. The air conditioner works great. The bathroom is decent sized. The hair dryer in the room only worked on low, which was disappointing as it was only slightly better than air drying my hair. Water pressure in the shower is perfect. They have an ice machine as well as water, which was much appreciated. Staff was super friendly

The front desk staff was nothing but knowledgeable, pleasant, and kind resolving any and all issues with a smile. The bar/resturant staff handled a packed bar with grace and patience. The rooms were clean, quiet, and modern. The hotel is within walking distance to any and all downtown fun. It was the best experience I've had at a hotel in a long time and we will be back!

The Normandy hotel has become our home away from home in Minneapolis. It is right off the interstate as well as being 3 blocks away from the light rail station. The Normandy is within walking distance of Nicollet Mall, Target Field and the River walk. The restaurant serves good meals and dessert and you can't beat chocolate chip cookies at 10:00 in the lobby. Parking is on-site for a very reasonable daily fee. The front desk staff and welcoming and friendly.

My family and friends met at best Western plus in Minneapolis for the vikings home opener preseason game. The hotel was a perfect place for us since it was a 10 minute walk to and from the game. Service and hotel was great I would recommend others to stay there.

Best Western Plus Normandy Inn & Suites offers clean, comfortable rooms at a competitive price. Located close to many downtown restaurants and bars. The staff are very attentive and concerned with guest comfort and convenience. The hotel has an indoor pool.

Been staying here for a decade as a family and keep going back! Love the pool and hot tub. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu in the restaurant (have even gone there when not even staying at the hotel). And the front desk staff has always been super friendly and helpful! Kudos to the team!

The room we stayed in was good and that is about the only good thing I have to say about this hotel. The customer service was terrible. I booked online and when I checked out, I noticed that I was charged over $60 more than I booked at - I was told that because I booked online, the front desk couldn't do anything about it and they gave me the Best Western Customer Care number. I called the number and was told that they called the hotel and the hotel claimed that we upgraded our room - I never asked to have an upgrade and didn't realize that the room we stayed in even was an upgrade. The customer service told me they would speak to upper management at the hotel and get back to me. I have heard nothing back and have left several messages. I would not book here again. This has been nothing but a hassle that Best Western has done nothing to fix.

My children request this hotel. They love the cookies and flavored water in the lobby. To attend events downtown it is very well situated and close to some great restaurants. It has a pool sauna and hot tub which is great for winter visits. Several blocks to walk to catch the Metro Blue and Green Line for St Paul and MOA. Park the car and go for a train ride. The hotel has been there for my lifetime and has a historical charm about it. Rooms are clean and the staff aim to please. Many are often eager to interact with the children which I noted. FREE parking when you stay at the hotel. No hidden surprises like other hotels. My recent stay in room 203 was not as great as other visits as the beds were soft. Queen suites are better, but I did get the last room during our most recent stay.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, Quinn at the front desk made me feel welcome and immediately and capably assisted me with an unexpected change to my itinerary. Then, I stepped into my hotel room - I can't believe it is so economical and feels so luxurious. The bed is super comfortable. It is such a lovely hotel! I've stayed in various B and Bs and multiple hotels in Minneapolis, and the Best Western Normandy has surpassed all of those experiences. The value, location, and personnel all deserve five stars. Can't wait to come back!

Great price for a beautiful stay! Stunning hotel interior. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating for our adult family needs for 2 rooms adjoining. Classy, clean rooms. Quiet. Swimming pool is in a beautiful atrium, played on their chess board, ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good food & service. Hotel was within walking distance to areas we wanted to visit. We would stay here again!

Probably the Best Best western we've stayed at. Like the style of the hotel, old mansion style. Quiet, Clean. Staff was very helpful. Parking was conveniently located behind the hotel what seemed secure.

Our family stayed at the Best Western Normandy on June 23&24. We were in Minneapolis for the Taylor Swift concert. The hotel was in the perfect location for walking to the concert and people watching from the great view from our room. The room was perfect for our family. But the best part was the Taylor Swift room they had open to all hotel guests. They had concert tips, refreshments, tables of beads for making bracelets for the concerts and great places for photos! Great for our family of Swifties!! To top off our great stay, we were greeted with fresh towels when we stepped in the hotel after getting soaked in the rain on the walk back. So very thoughtful! We will definitely be back!!

This location is so gorgeous and unique-we felt like royalty! Staff was friendly, decor was beautiful, warm cookies available, within walking distance to restaurants, theater, cafes and the room was amazing value. We will definitely return here.

We were traveling to Minneapolis for asylum interviews for Afghan refugees. From the moment Russell greeted us at the front desk, we were treated with exceptional customer service, clear care and compassion and kindness that was above and beyond. He even directed us the short walk to Target so we could get the guys swim trunks so they could relax before the big morning ahead I lived in Minneapolis over 30 years ago and loved to dine here - and our dinner and popovers (thank God you still serve them!) was absolutely beautiful, delicious and served with true hospitality, not fake. Love this place and will return again! (Just needed the coffeemaker to work but hey, free coffee in lobby very early so all went well.)

The hotel property was clean, and everything was putting his place very neatly kept! And a warm, welcoming environment throughout the property, as a very professional and sophisticated presentation, while keeping the original charm of the buildings.

I've stayed at The Normandy three times now. In part for the location, but also because we enjoy the hotel and it's excellent restaurant. The parking is easy, the rooms comfortable and clean. Our shower was particularly nice. We didn't get to take advantage of the milk and cookies this time but I've had them before and it's a nice touch. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful; all the staff we encountered were very nice. We particularly like the Normandy Kitchen. I've had many delicious meals there and heartily recommend the caramelized Brussel sprouts with Lardons. It was so good we considered ordering a second helping as dessert. I'm sure we will stay there again.

Great location, very clean, friendly staff, and just an overall warm atmosphere. The hotel staff was able to accommodate every request I made including early check-in, parking flexibility, lobby usage with other friends, etc... Just a great place that truly makes you feel at home!

My wife and I stayed at the Normandy while attending the Viking playoff game in downtown Minneapolis. Pleasant .5 mile walk to stadium and very upbeat vibe in and around hotel. Dinner was excellent and service top notch. We will use again.

I'm there add they claim breakfast as an amenity. When in truth they have a overpriced restaurant they will sell you breakfast. When I think of an amenity I think of it as a free perk for staying there . Something only offered to guests. So to say it is is a lie and misleading. Parking was very expensive. For the price you pay they could offer free parking. Overall the room was clean, comfortable and secure. So if you have more money than sense go here and spend it. If you aren't go somewhere else where they treat you like a guest and feed you and let you park in there lot for free.

I was extremely satisfied with Normandy Inn. I have to give all 5's for the service, cleanliness, comfort and just overall pleasantness of staying at this hotel. I travel a lot and to have a place like Normandy who allows me to not have to think about where I will stay next time in Minneapolis because this will be my go to, every time moving forward.

Couldn't have felt more at home. I'll never stay anywhere else in the Minneapolis St. Paul area again. The best food along with bartenders that can make any drink imaginable. The owner is also on hand to solve any problems that may arise.

Had a horrendous stay at this sketchy hotel. Staff lied about the availability of a hospital shuttle. Was there for a surgery for my elderly mother. The restaurant and its staff were nice, but during the four nights we were there it closed every day at 10:30am. Location is in a rough part of downtown and nearby restaurants were rarely open. My mother's suitcase and it's contents were stolen at 7:00am. Would not be at all surprised if it was taken by a staff member. Front desk staff didn't not offer any assistance when told of the theft. We did not have a car and when we asked a question about transportation to the airport, staff members said he didn't know the answer. The room was fairly quiet, but the furnishings were old and worn. Honestly feel this hotel should be shut down.

App needs work for early check ins and points system is terrible however staff is very very amazing hot tub/pool and steam room are amazing plus we n house bar and breakfast are awesome I will be returning I'm December hoping early check in through app and points system is fixed by then

Nice hotel, bit old fashioned atmosfeer which is nice. Everything very clean. Good rooms, GREAT swimming pool and bubblebath. Strange customers, looks like a show when you sit in Lobby and see customers passing by. In swimming suits , in towel, in pyama. Sometimes very loud. But acceptable. Only things what are not so good is the wifi: on 4th floor simply no connection and very slow. And really really bad are the waiting times for breakfast. Only menu choice is possible with breakfast included and despite it is good, waiting times for sometimes 45 min are not acceptable. Please make a buffet style breakfast for people who are in a hurry. Restaurant and bar sometimes closed without notice.

The Normandy Inn is a treasure in the midst of a big city where you are treated with respect and kindness with a smile. The Inn Keeper - Mr. Noble has a great team working for him that really shows in how every detail is handled - the stay was wonderful, pool, spa, Normandy Kitchen and Bar - all were great and I so look forward to coming down again! Truly a great place!!!

We chose this particular hotel to avoid driving in the city. Parking was plentiful, cheap, and safe. I could walk wherever I needed once we were there. Had a ridiculously good breakfast at the Normandy kitchen.

We loved this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel décor was unique and inviting. The parking lot was very convenient. The breakfast was amazing. We really enjoyed the eggs benedict and the apple fritter French toast. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Terrific hotel. It is obvious that cleanliness is key here as this hotel is very well maintained and CLEAN. Staff, restaurant and bar are very nice. The rooms are very modern with lots of USB charging outlets, fridge etc. A gem of a hotel well worth considering.

The Normandy knows how to treat travelers from start to finish. Other hotels could take a lesson from them. My room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, The pool/jacuzzi area is clean and well maintained. Every meal was delicious and the wait staff made a real effort to make each meal special. The bar has a great selection and is a friendly place. I was a little nervous as a solo traveler but they were so welcoming and professional those fears were quickly forgotten.

Good food at the restaurant, and the staff was super friendly. I picked this spot for the distance to the stadium and the short walk to the Vikings Football game. It was perfect! The hotel was clean, the room was clean, no complaints about this place and would definitely come back if we were ever in the area again.

I have been a regular at the Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis since 2015 and have never been disappointed with my accommodations or the service I received. It is a quiet place with a wonderful restaurant (with a history going back a hundred years) and complimentary cookies and milk in the lobby at 10 p.m. for heavenly sleep on a very fine and comfortable mattress. It's like sleeping on a cloud! Everyone is welcoming and accommodating. Besides, the Normandy probably has the best rates in town.

Customer service from the staff was excellent, very friendly, all smiling, attentive, accommodating, remembered my name. This is the hotels biggest asset. Room was a great big beautiful area with a sitting room and a huge comfy king size bed. Beautifully decorated hotel. When I saw staff dusting the leaves of a plant, I knew cleanliness was a priority here. Great hotel in the middle of some amazing restaurants & it just feels....like home away from home. I have stayed at some of the other hotels in the area....they don't compete with this one. Parking is so easy...no huge parking ramps to navigate. Absolutely one of my favorites!

The Normandy Inn & Suites was a great place to stay, very clean and comfortable. Their lounge was very nice, great atmosphere. We stayed here because we were going to the Twins Game, and it was a very nice 8 block walk to the game. They offer fresh cookies & milk at 10:00 pm, a nice snack before bedtime. I would definitely stay at The Normandy Inn & Suites again.

While I wasn't thrilled with having to pay for parking (an extra $75 for the days we stayed), the room was nice, the location convenient, and the cost was a bit lower than the others nearby. Near a skywalk entrance.

The Normandy is a pleasant and cozy spot to stay in downtown Minneapolis just blocks from the Nicolette Mall. Price was right for the accomodations, service was friendly and professional. Restaurant and bar on site was affordable with a great atmosphere.

This hotel looks expensive and is very fancy, but is quite affordable. Décor is awesome thru out both hotel and the restaurant. Nice indoor pool. The restaurant attached has awesome food. Just a few blocks walk to the stadium.

Stayed here August 12th to 14th. I found the hotel itself to be very charming. It was unique in its decor as an authentic European property. The room we had was average but the bed was VERY comfortable and the room was clean. It has a fridge, soaps and shampoos. However no blow dryer good thing I brought my own. Please note, rooms at this hotel will not be cleaned unless you ask for it. This is part of their green policy . As we were only there for 3 days I didn't mind this at all. On the last day we asked for fresh towels and that's all that was needed. The reason for the 3 stars was the fact the restaurant was only open sporadically. When I asked why? they said it was a staff shortage. Very disappointing considering there are no restaurants really close by to grab a quick meal. the bar / restaurant closed early when it was open. However the couple of times it was open, the food was AMAZING! However, the service was incredibly slow. We almost walked out because we had concert tickets and had waited over an hour for our meal. Such a shame. If your looking for night life in the area you won't find much. You have to walk 4 or 5 blocks to find a couple pubs. HOWEVER the location to the US Bank Stadium is spot on. You can walk from this hotel. The Blue Line is just a few block down as well that will take you to the Mall of America for just a couple bucks (and back again) unfortunately, it was down when we tried to use it. The front desk staff was very nice. I had such a nice experience with the fella working he was very helpful and informative (and funny). The only other issue I had with this hotel was the fact for 2 days they were really slow getting coffee on in the lobby because they ran out of filters? Ya I thought okie dokie send someone to get some how hard could it be ha ha? I believe they finally sent someone the second day. BUT the coffee in the lobby is very good as well. Overall I would stay here again if I was going to a concert or football game.

My stay at the Best Western Plus Normandy Suites was excellent par none! The amenities were just what my husband and I needed. We will be going back! And our wedding reception was awesome! The food was outstanding. Our guests were asking about recipes from the chef!

It takes a ton to be impressed by hotel stays anymore -- especially post-covid. However, this Best Western Plus property is among the best I've stayed at, REGARDLESS of the class of hotel! If I had to guess, the original property was built back in the early 1920s. This latest rendition is likely five year old or so -- but the original charm was kept! Imagine the hotel decor and "vibe" of The Continental in the John Wick film series -- it's like that, only without the guns! Seriously, I'll go back in a heartbeat. Loved the rate, too.

Overall, very nice hotel in downtown Minneapolis, close to the convention center, Nicollet Mall, and other area attractions. Rooms are a touch dated but everything was in good shape overall. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The Manager and Staff are always super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always clean and super comfortable. Every time that my friends and I are in Minneapolis we stay here and we will continue to stay here in the future. The location is amazing and parking is never a problem. I would recommend to anybody staying in downtown Minneapolis.

High-end Best Western in the middle of downtown. Finding the main entrance was a challenge partly due to one way streets. Reception and sign out staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Once you figure out how to get in, we had no trouble getting a parking spot which was free. Only downside was no free breakfast. There is a restaurant on site.

I was overall very pleased with my stay at the Normandy Best Western. I loved the charm of the hotel and the history. Overall most of the staff was fairly friendly, but I did have a couple of complaints, one I consider very serious. I had called the hotel multiple times including the day of to let them I would be checking in late due to a late flight and also that I had two reservations that I wanted to bridge together so I would not have to checkout and back after our first night. I knew I would be tired and would want to sleep in the next day, so I was very careful to plan ahead for this. When we arrived to check-in just after midnight as expected, I was not greeted in a friendly manner at all despite being a diamond member. I was not even thanked for my continued patronage or provided the complimentary water. The greeting could not have been worse by the older gentleman working the front desk that evening/early morning. He acted annoyed and indignant that I was even bothering him while he was busy. I nearly lost it when he told me I'd have to come down in a few hours to checkout and check back in because I have two reservations. When I informed him, no, I was not doing this. I was a diamond member and had already called the hotel multiple times to ensure this was not necessary, he just sighed heavily and rolled his eyes at me. He said he just rebooked my reservation with an even heavier sigh and air of exasperation. I cannot even begin to express to you how bad of a customer service experience this was. I loved the pool, the décor in the hotel, the restaurant, the laundry, the complimentary flavored water and cookies and even the small workout facility. The only other minor complaint I had was the room/suite organization/decoration. The desk was in the bedroom, and this is a problem because I wanted to work in the early morning some days without waking up my daughter who would still be sleeping. Also, the arrangement of furniture in the living room area while pleasant to look at, just made the room much smaller than it already was. I understand moving the chairs and couch off the while for decorating reasons, but it makes the already small room extremely small with very little navigable room. The very long coffee table didn't help either. It's way too large for that size furniture and was more of hindrance than a help. The furniture is a bit old and could stand to be updated.

My room in this hotel was very comfortable, with plugs being available everywhere, extra coffee for coffee service and wonderful water available next to ice machine. The parking was convenient and reasonably priced for a downtown location. The restaurant was good. I walked a couple of blocks for meals off-site also. It was about a 10-12 min walk to convention center. I would definitely stay here again.

When checking out, reported that room's air conditioner did not work (day of checkout the repair person had replace broken unit in room with another unit). During check out the front clerk said hotel manager would call to follow up since manager was not on duty. Left my phone number, never received follow up call.

We were in town for commencement and picked the Normandy because of good reviews and affordable price. Very nice clean hotel with handy restaurant for breakfast and nice lobby to gather in and visit. Have stayed several other places and this is our new favorite for college visit. Easy 8minutes from UMinn.

The Normandy Inn is a very cute hotel right in the middle of Minneapolis. We had a great stay with great staff, and it was very easy to get around the city from this location. I recommend everyone stay here at least once.

Great location. The staff was helpful. The rooms were nice and very clean. They pool was clean and enjoyable. The restaurant was great and didn't have a wait time. We didn't use the other breakfast options around town because the hotel restaurant had enough options, excellent service, a good Bloody Mary, and good prices.

Exceptionally Clean, Super Quiet, Comfortable, Attractive, Economical, Convenient parking. Staff are eager to accommodate. Atmosphere is rich. Hot tub is pristine. Nice pool. Great breakfast menu. Tavern on premise. Beds are extremely comfortable with pillows galore. Clean, Clean, Clean hotel. The price is unbelievable. Great base location for Minneapolis, St. Paul venues and restaurants.

Front desk staff are rude and have side conversations instead of concentrating on check in. I was never told anything about the on site restaurant, pool location or hours, and the hot tub isn't hot and jets don't work! Parking is a nightmare and the staff couldn't take the time to explain that either. Air and heat or reversed and loud. Toilet leaked all over the floor and ran the entire time. We were given 2 towels for a 4 person room! Don't call the front desk either or you get rude tone and attitude as they are put out and can't do their job! Beautiful decor horrid staff! Stay at the Holiday Inn down the street the staff there are AMAZING!!

I have never stayed in a hotel that made me feel like a literal jail mates. Staff yelled at us and almost refused to let us in because one person in my group forgot their room card. Don't call the front desk staff unless you want lies and rude people and if you are traveling with a large group needing more than one room, don't bother requesting a room close to each other, also don't expect to see the rest of your group either because you will get yelled at and threatened to be kicked out if you step a singular foot into the hallway.

Stayed here for 2 nights with our family: 2 adults, 3 kids (16, 15, 3 yrs old) and 2 dogs (GSD). The place was well priced for the size room we stayed in, Double Room Suite, had to full size beds in a overly large bedroom, additionally living room with small dining table, chair, and sofa with queen size pull out bed. The place was clean, bathroom tile shower was large, sperate bathroom sink from shower/toilet made it nice for getting ready while others were using the bathroom. Small fridge and microwave allowed for us to bring back leftovers. My only issue was you have no control over the temp in your room. The whole place runs on boiler heat, so the whole place has heat on, or off. And they claim they don't turn on the AC until April, so the only way to cool off your room is to open the windows, which have no screens, and can open all the way. So if you have dogs/cats or small kids, this is not ideal, and frankly dangerous. I'm not even sure how they can allow windows to be opened all the way without some sort of safety feature that prevents kids from falling out (legally). Also, the support bar in the sofa pull out was broken off, so we had to take the mattress off the couch and lay it on the floor so we didn't sink through the middle of the bed. Aside from that, the price was unmatched by anyone else in the downtown area if you have pets. The pool and hot tube are located and an area that feels like your outside, but is enclosed, with lots of natural light.

Great hotel with an authentic feel to it. It really doesn't look or feel like a best western. The beds were very comfortable along with the pillows which is hard to Find in a hotel now days. I'll definitely come back here with our family again

We can recommend the Best Western Normandy Inn and Suites if you are traveling with your dog and happen to be in Minneapolis. The hotel is several blocks from the Mississippi River, so it gives you a great walk with the dog in the morning and the evening. Restaurants in that area seem to be fairly dog-friendly, and the walk along the River is beautiful. The hotel itself is well cared-for even though from the outside it may appear dated. It is cozy inside and provides a great pool and hot-tub. Beds are comfortable -- and the pillows, very comfortable.

The hotel and the staff were very nice. In particular, the staff were extremely helpful and very customer service oriented. The place was very, very clean and felt like it was very safe. It was easy access from the airport and a very pleasant stay in the downtown Minneapolis area.

Always the best place to stay. Amazing pool area and parking and accessible by foot to all of the places we want to go. We have been going here for over 20 years and now with our kids it's the best place to go with the entire family

This hotel is a very well maintained property that has been a MPLS legend for decades. The hotel common area features beautiful corridors with deep leather couches, chess boards, pianos and other casual elegance. Dozens of places to settle in to relax, watch the comings and goings, and enjoy. Perfectly maintained pool, clear water, clean towels. Room was clean, well kept linens and furnishings in great shape. Amenities included a purified water station, ice and pitcher.

Semi-secure parking on site, clean rooms, good location, quiet, nice amenities. Good value for the price. Restaurants in walking distance on a nice day. TV channels limited, bed linens comfortable, mattress too soft.

This hotel is one of the very few that still has poolside rooms. It's a great opportunity for families to have a getaway that includes the ability to swim nearby. Staff is very friendly and hotel is very clean.

Our friends stayed at The Normandy in the past. What a great hotel. It has a Nordic feel and was decorated so festive for the holidays. The rooms were very clean and are a nice size. They aren't cleaning the rooms due to COVID, but you can request clean towels and toiletries. The housekeepers were always very friendly. The hotel has an indoor pool, as well as a restaurant on site. We ate at the restaurant one evening. Food was very good, as well as the service. We went in one evening after an NFL game, it was busy, but they did a decent job trying to keep up with the crowd. The hotel is located near most attractions. If it's not within walking distance, the train is close by. You can take it to the Mall of America, University of Minnesota or even St. Paul. Clean rooms, great location and reasonable price. You can beat this hotel.

We where not able to access our room at midnight and no one could help us get into our room where our luggage and meds were. The next day we where given NO satisfaction from management. Followed calls stonewalled us as we expected more understanding and are stuck with the $200.00 room bill for a room we never slept in. How could this happen ? And WHY no caring by the hotel ?

To star my husband and I were planning are daughters golden birthday party she was turning 6. I was told I needed to work with the sales manager Bryan K. Working with him we were told we could rent a party room for a certain amount of money and a number of other promises were made 4 weeks before the party I contract was also signed. 5 days before the party a Michael Flodquist calls as say that he is now taking over and that none of the things bryan promised were tru e and that a new contract would need to be done. We were ordering food buffet style for 25 people mind you it was for a 6 years olds birthday party. He told me that if more then 25 people ate they would be charging me per person. Also, I was not able to take any food that was left with me. Plus I had a room in the hotel to stay overnight with the girls and still was not able to take left over food. One of the things Bryan promised was parking passes for my guest. The day before the party I received an email from Bryan saying that his daughter had COVID and he would be out for the next 10 days and that the owner of the hotel Mike Noble 612-370-1400 said that he was unable to honor that promise. Day of the party we were granted all the parking passes we asked for by the employees working that day, I was also informed that Bryan had resigned 2 days earlier, we were able to take the food home and the hotel room that we stayed in Bryan quoted me $149.00 and it was only $79.00. We called the owner asking if we could pay him half price for the parking passes and he said NO we are a for profit business I cant give them away. So with that being said you will never ever get my business again. Plus those that attended my party including my professional party planner will NOT be retuning to your establishment. You should not have such a high rating the service is not great at all.

Another good experience at the Normandy! Love the location and on site parking, and now discovering the great breakfast in the french style restaurant on site. It's unpretentious and a not too shabby chateaux right in the city.

This hotel is a bit dated, but it worked well as we didn't spend much time in the hotel. The restaurant was delicious and had a great breakfast. We stayed for concert at US bank Stadium and the location was perfect as it was a quick walk there and back. Great location for a quick stay. Beds were also very comfortable.

I'm so glad that we were able to get a room at this hotel for the Rolling Stones concert on 10/24/21!!! It was well-maintained and updated, very clean, and nicely decorated. Staff did a great job as everyone piled in to check in early on Sunday. Parking is wonderful out back with a card provided for entry and exit. You can go to the back door and drop off your belongings for easy access to the main section of rooms. If your room is located in the smaller section of the property, be sure to use the elevator that looks like a door straight down the hall from the lobby. The back elevators don't take you to those rooms. The hotel is only a few blocks from the stadium and other downtown venues. Worth every penny!!

Hotel was very clean. Beds were comfy. Front desk was nice but not overly friendly. We asked about local things to see and where to eat. They weren't very excited about the city. Location was great to walk around for food and shopping. Pool and hot tub were nice. Only negative was there was garbage in the sitting area of the pool for the 3 nights we were there. Garbage cans were full. Parking was easy and we could go in and out with our ticket. Price for hotel and parking very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. We would definitely stay there again.

When we're in Minneapolis this is the main place we want to stay. Fast easy check in/out, friendly, very clean, lots of amenities and a great location! Never have had a bad experience here in the last 5 years.

This was a disappointment overall. Purchased a two double bed suite as there were three of us on the trip. Discovered the included microwave did not work upon arrival. Let the desk know, and nothing was done. Entered the room, and changed the thermostat down from 73 to 70 for comfort. Woke up in the middle of the night and temperature in room was +/- 75. Id did not get lower than 75 the rest of the weekend, and was as high as 78 when check in middle of night. Did not spend much time in room during day, who knows how hot it got. Front desk gave a verbal apology, but, nothing was done to remedy the issue or refunded night for our two major issues. No sheets were provided for the pull out couch mattress. Slept on scratchy blankets that probably weren't washed as hairs were found. The water pressure in the shower was quite poor, did not feel this would be remedied, so no complaint made. I expected financial compensation or refunded night for this weekend's visit. Nothing given.

One night stay for a Vikings game, brought hunting dog along as we hunted on the way there, early checkin situation was provided even after they had a full night before, always great services ! Advice on not leaving the parking because it could be taken,because if game, just helpful and accommodating!

Great place to stay. Can walk to most places, but good transit service to get you where you need to go. The train is a great experience, but do take the time to review the system. Hotel was peaceful even with a kids pool party going on.

The Normandy Inn and Suites exceeded my expectations for a comfortable nights stay. The pool, hot tub, and sauna looked inviting an clean, the restaurant/bar within the building was a inviting. I would definitely consider an extended stay here the next time visiting Minneapolis.

Before even going, make sure your making a reservation with the actual hotel or pay $20 by some unknown service. This hotel is surrounded by one-way streets. Miss your turn and go two blocks west, one block north, two blocks east, and one block south just to find the door. The turn in is barely enough for one car. It's easy to miss with no Best Western sign. Check-in went fine (sort of). I took the one-ways AGAIN to the parking lot. Got into the elevator to the 3rd floor but couldn't find my room! That's because my room was in a different building. At check I was not told this. WiFi locks up easy and often. Forget premium channels on the TV unless your really tech savvy. Restaurant was closed when I was there - of coarse. Two restaurants are within walking distance (3blocks. Hen House is good). Got in at 10pm stopped at the restaurant and got one scoop of ice cream -$8. Listened to the sound of police sirens all night. Finally at check-out out I find a $12 a day parking charge. Never Again. Good: clean, hot shower water, excellent water dispensers.

Had a room where it's split into two, one side with the bed and the other side is separate with a kitchenette and tv. Not sure if all the rooms are like that but it was nice after being in so many hotel rooms where everything was in one room. Decor was a little dated but I don't need fancy. The front desk staff could use some retraining but other than that, it's a decent place to stay. As a guest, I'm not familiar with the layout of the hotel so when checking in, the front desk should explain all that a first-timer would need to know, like how to drive to the parking lot on one way streets. I have enough sense how to do it but just saying the parking is behind the hotel wasn't enough once you start driving and realize the one way street issue. Also, the guest has to take the right elevator to get to their room. Staff only said to take the elevator so as soon as I entered from the parking lot, I naturally took the first elevator I saw. On the road for hours, walking down the long hallways carrying luggage, trying to find the room, only to realize there's another elevator on the other side of the hotel. That would have been very helpful to know! I was going to ask about some tips about spots around the city but since the front desk was so poor at basic check-in instructions, I decided not to bother asking them anything. Wouldn't you know the same person worked each shift that I passed by.

I am consistently pleased to stay at The Normandy and this experience was no different. Since I travel for work, I'd only been on property once in 16 months. Imagine my surprise and pleasure that upon check in I was greeted with a "very nice to see you again." Yeah, I know there is a tickler system for rewards members, but it still made me feel special. Rooms may be a bit dated but they are super clean and more than adequate in terms of comfort and amenities.

I plugged in my phone to the USB slot on the alarm box next to the best. It melted my power cord and my phone port, my phone is dead. It no longer works because I plugged it into Best Western's USB provided port. This morning, I spoke to the hotel Manager Jeffrey Jerry and he blamed my week old usb cord that I've used in several locations every single day without a problem or it ever getting hot.... until best western.

Hotel web site lists local shuttle, complimentary cookies at 10 pm and world class cleaning service. There were no cookies at 10, no shuttle service available and a diaper in the room does not represent world class cleaning services.

I stayed here with my 9 year old and 3 year old and we had a great time! I loved the decor and the staff were extremely friendly.bParking was onsite and easy to find. We had a pool side room on the first floor and it was perfect to have easy access to both our room and the pool. They were strict about quiet hours and we didn't hear any noise after 10p. They offer cold filtered water and a pitcher for refills which was fantastic. We picked this hotel so that we could explore the city and it didn't disappoint! We walked to Foshay tower to view the city scenery from the observation deck, then to Target and Peavy Plaza before heading back. It was around 7pm and we felt safe walking back. We ordered food from the hotel restaurant the Normandy Kitchen. Everything on the menu looks amazing but with kids I just ordered pizza and fries and we ate it by the pool. It was delicious! There is a beautiful bathroom near the pool and sauna. They offer coffee in the lobby in the morning but the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast. Luckily I packed some easy breakfast foods and we ate that by the pool and swam in the morning. I'm sure there are restaurants nearby for breakfast but it worked better for us to just stay there and relax. We will definitely be coming back to stay!

The Best Western Normandy Inn and Suites exceeded my family's expectations. It was a beautiful hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The pool area was wonderful as well. No continental breakfast but everything else about the hotel more than made up for that.

I was traveling with my son for a hockey tournament and we decided to stay in Minnesota upon our arrival before heading out to the tournament site. The biggest pro: great downtown location. The biggest con: room decor is dated. My wife asked if I had notice the 70's decor in the photos. There's an onsite restaurant, but no free breakfast. Parking for an additional (reasonable) fee. Our room was clean, if dated. Refillable carafe for water/ice. Reasonably priced.

We had a queen suite, which was huge. I'm not sure the bed was actually a queen, it looked more like a double but we made it work. Having the separate seating area was very nice since we were in town for several days. The parking at only $12 a day with in/out privileges was super reasonable for a downtown location. The location was in some ways not that convenient for us because there didn't seem to be much in the way of casual and reasonable food options within walking distance and we're not gourmet eaters. But we found good options within a 10-15 minute drive. One minor complaint: the bathroom door squeaked like crazy so if your travel companion used it during the night it was sure to wake you up. But overall a nice stay!

Definitely 5 out of 5. From amenities to staff and quality. The location was great and within walking distance to many places. It was clean and stylish and had many beautiful touches including a grand piano, fireplace in lobby, beautiful French style architecture. Henry (manager on duty) was great and very hospitable and friendly. Poncho and Ron (front desk) were also very professional and friendly. This place would be great for events due to its beauty and stylish touches. We stayed in a queen suite that overlooked the pool area. The room was immaculate and the layout was great. The bathroom was great and shower had great pressure and plenty of room. TVs were slightly small but with everything else being so great at this place, that can be easily overlooked. We ordered from the Normandy restaurant attached to the hotel and it was great. Richard from the restaurant was also very friendly and great. We had great conversation with him! Parking was $12 but we felt our vehicle was safer than street or public parking. Security measures here are great too. We've stayed at places where anyone can walk in but here you have to be buzzed in the back door from parking but never had to wait. Overall great stay. Our favorite best western location so far. Highly recommend.

Room service needs some quality assurance but other than that, and a few rude attendants this place was lovely. I would stay here again. Parking lot is safe as well. I truly appreciated that part as well.

Me and friend thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff members were professional and friendly! The hotel has a cute vintage old school aesthetic! Would come again, and I would definitely recommend staying here!

We had a poolside room. The pool said open till 11. Had someone from the front desk come in very rude and said this is a one warning. The pool is closed. It was 10:15. I will have my security move you. We were very understanding and willing to move back to our hotel. We assumed the pool was opened till 11 like we were told. We booked here because we were told they were open till 11 for the pool which was the longest in the area. I will not be staying here again. We also had the same front desk person tell us our rooms weren't adjoined when we called weeks ago making sure they were. He was very rude and angry when we were kind and did everything we were told and following the rules.

A good place to stay. Quiet, spacious and comfortable rooms. You can cast your phone to the television and there are a couple of option available for that too. Many restaurants within a short drive or some will deliver, becuase the on-site restaurant has a limited menu.

The WiFi would frequently disconnect, when playing a smartphone app game called Madden Mobile 21. When not playing this game, I also (infrequently) occasionally noticed poor WiFi signal strength in my room. I have encountered better WiFi signal strength at a least one Motel 6 location, which is upsetting, because Best Western locations are are more expensive chain location lodging options.

I had a great time staying at this hotel. I had called ahead requesting government rates for three different hotels, all prices about the same, but Best Western let me know that their current rates were lower than the government ones, and bumped me up to a suite at no extra charge. It was always clean, the complimentary shower products smelled wonderful, and it was super close to where I needed to be in downtown. Would definitely recommend and continue using this hotel in the future.

I am always totally impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness, and cleanliness if this hotel. The staff is excellent. They will bend over backwards to help a person. They are very accommodating. I definitely would recommend staying at the Best Western Plus Normandy Inn

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean, that's where the good really stops. I would say it was also cheap, but after the surprise $12 a night parking charge, it was more expensive than several of the other hotel options out there. That alone would have been an issue, I probably could have read some fine print that there was going to be a parking charge, my biggest issue is that the toilet did not work. Wouldn't even flush TP without 3-4 attempts. On top of that, the room smelt like sewage when we first arrived, not a very welcoming smell. Other issues included the hall reeking of weed and the other occupants not seeming to have any care of others on the block. Understandably, the last two may have been out of the control of the hotel staff initially, but it would have been nice if they at least addressed any of the above issues. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and the interactions were positive, but the lack of follow through was not. Due to the above, our next stay will unfortunately not be Best Western. Hoping it was just a fluke, but it was enough of one to turn me off on Best Western.

My family and I left the Hilton about 5-8 minutes away to stay at the Best-western. It was the best decision we made and we had excellent service. The front desk gentleman was fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed. I would stay here again and love the atmosphere of this hotel. From the decor to the restaurant and staff, we were so happy to find a decent hotel and to have such a good night's rest. Thank you to all the staff working there to make our stay one of the best!!!!

This hotel is downtown. Plenty of parking, very clean, updated, comfortable rooms. Staff is excellent. Their restaurant is now open in the evenings. Which is great because there is not much open downtown. I stay here 3 times a month. I would not stay anywhere else unless I had unlimited budget and even then I would miss seeing my friends at Best Western Normandy!

What a perfect choice for these Tim's! Rooms were immaculate ((new air filtering system), fodd service was socially distance and delicious with very conscientious wait staff. The owner was present and watchful and ready to deal with any questions/needs! This is an awesome HOTEL comfortable, clean and accommodating in Downtown Minneapolis.

My niece loves swimming and to be able to take her to a hotel and have a poolside room and not worry about going from room to pool was great and she took advantage of the pool everyday for hours on end. Also being an inner room in DT Minneapolis was great it was so quiet at night

Very clean, very upscale for a best western. Staff were very nice. House keeping goes above and beyond!. Amazing indoor pool, hottub, fitness center and even a laundry room. I only wish they would of had a microwave in hotel rooms or in the lobby or pantry. So much beautiful history in this historic property.

We absolutely love this hotel. Older with historic character, classic, great pool, hot tub and sauna. One of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed at with easy parking, great location and friendly staff. The restaurant has reduced hours do to Covid, but was great last year and had outdoor seating.

Beautiful lobby with a fireplace. Great French restaurant in lobby. It has a nice pool. The parking is very convenient and easy in and out so I was able to visit my daughter uptown and get back and forth in 10-15 minutes.

I came to check in and the woman was very rude. I had to overdo politeness to get her to be kind back. Later I went to pick up food and the guy at the front desk was rude as well. This was in June. He treated another hotel guest well. Not sure why at separate times they were both so dismissive and unprofessional with me. Will not be going back. I ended up checking out after just 3 hours because of their entitled attitudes. Waste of my money and time.

Really impressed with this place. Lot of new and clean features in the room. The building is olds but kept up and charming. Pool and restaurant/bar are a major plus. On site parking was super easy to navigate.

This hotel was great and pandemic pricing made it a great value. I am sure the $/nt would not have been what we paid during a "regular" summer. That said, location was great, the room (Suite with fireplace) was great. It was actually the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The staff were great.

We travel quite a bit, and this hotel was one of the nicest ones I have ever stayed in. Comfortable rooms, great staff, wonderful restaurant and bar. Parking is available. Right in downtown. The whole family loved being there.

The stuff here was amazing they where very caring the hotel was beautiful and clean the rooms where very clean and comfortable if I ever have to go back i will be staying there again I'm a country girl first time in the big city and I felt at home there could ask for better stuff

From the moment I checked in and until I checked out, everything was so wonderful. Even during this pandemic time, the hotel crew did an outstanding job. From the front desk, to maintenance, to housekeeping, everything was awesome. The front desk people were professional, friendly, helpful, and mindful of my needs. The hotel was kept exceptionally clean--you could smell the clean. Since many places were closed down, the front desk was so helpful and informative about restaurants that delivered and that were reasonably priced and had good food. The room was very nice, comfortable, and clean. I cannot think of one negative thing about the hotel. On your next trip to Minneapolis, you MUST stay at the Best Western Plus Normandy Inn and Suites. You will not be disappointed.

Whenever we come to town for a Minnesota Vikings game, THIS is where we stay! Very clean and well-managed hotel with super-convenient parking. It's just a 15-minute walk to US Bank Stadium, and with plenty of good places to eat and drink nearby.

Great location, decent restaurant, oustanding, friendly front desk. What more could you ask for? My room was great. Easy parking. Near everything. I have stayed in many Best Westerns, this is one of the best and nicests!

Location was good. Hotel is an older style but still is good shape. Has indoor pool and exercise room. We stayed in second floor. They have parking that is pretty reasonable for a big city. And some of it is covered parking. Mattresses felt older. Not as firm and nice as other hotels. Husband slept okay. I didn't sleep well but I don't think it was the bed. Too wound up from the game. We would probably stay here again.

The hotel was good, the bed was okay and the hottub/pool/sauna were great. We were very disappointed in some aspects though. We searched for a free parking facility on Google and when this place was listed I searched the site and didn't see any information about parking so I continued forward with out reservation to find out after we reserved that the nightly charge for parking was $10 THEN to find out at the hotel that it was $12 (the same price someone would pay to park even if they WEREN'T staying at the hotel). When we checked in we brought it up only to be told "Well the price went up"...Not a good enough reason in my eyes to be charged more then I was told in the email upon already paying for parking when it was filtered under a free parking hotel. When we checked in I DID NOT opt for speed check out, but upon waking up the morning of check out they had slid the bill under the door and I was told to drop my cards in the box even though I told them I wanted to check out (to have the opportunity to discuss the pricing discrepancies). Ended up leaving aggravated with no solution.

I've been doctoring at the U of M for four years now. Patty and the gang makes the trips so easy! Friendly service, nice rooms, not to mention rides to and from the U of M. In my opinion whether I stay her for the doctor or a concert I'm NOT staying anywhere else! Centrally located walking distance to all the sport arenas and concerts....give them a try they will not disappoint!!!!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights for the Lake Home and Cabin Show.. The hotel was neat, clean and well decorated. The lounge was relaxing and the service was great!! The parking was convenient as well. Liked the quiet downtown location.

I have stayed at this property 2-3 times per year for over 5 years. It feels like home and I always recommend it to friends traveling to the Twin Cities. Room decor is a bit dated but comfort is excellent and the staff is extremely accomodating.

A high-end hotel experience for a moderate price.The check-in staff is friendly and courteous. The rd restaurant and bar are comfortable and well staffed. The rooms are spacious and clean. The downtown location makes all of the Twin City areas accessible. I stay here every time I come to town.

Second time we stayed here. Both were great and met our needs. The lobby and hallways are stunning with beautiful decor and cozy sitting areas. Outside is quaint European but inside is even better. Rooms are furnished with everything we need and tastefully decorated. Cookies in the evening are nice treat. Restaurant menu does not provide much variety and in my opinion expensive, but there are places close by that are great. Really a gem of a place to stay!

Room was kept very clean. Close to skywalk which kept us very busy when we were not at hockey tournament. Close enough to Ridder Arena to make travel time minimal. We were not used to having to pay for parking but after comparing what the hotel was charging to what the University was charging, we were quite satisfied with money spent.

This is a very nice hotel. It has a convenient location and the room we had was clean, up-to-date, and spacious. The entire hotel is well-kept. Amazing restaurant in the hotel, the Normandy Kitchen. My only regret is we were here for just two nights.

We had never stayed before. Hotel was nice and clean with a fun decor. The restaurant was very good. We were shocked to discover that when in our room, you could clearly hear the people in their rooms on each side of us. There was zero noise barrier. The hallway noise traveled into our room like they were talking in our room. Needless to say we got very little sleep as there were people going to their rooms at all hours of the night who felt the need to visit in the hallway. To top it off, the cleaning staff started bright and early and because the noise travels so bad, again it felt like they were in the room. If you want a place that is quiet enough to get a good night sleep, this is not the place for you.

I've driven by this place for years and recently started enjoying the restaurant for it's old school steak house vibe and delicious cocktails. We decided to stay here for a birthday celebration. We had no idea there was such a beautiful pool and jacuzzi tucked away and that the rooms would be so nice. It was a very good value for the location and we got to have brunch at one of our favorite spots when we woke up in the morning.

This hotel is close to everything you could want in downtown Minneapolis. Only a short walk to U.S. Bank Stadium and several great restaurants and pubs close by. I like that there is covered parking at the hotel.

We had an emergency trip to Minneapolis for family health emergency. Staff offered for us to check in early which was so welcome. The shuttles to the hospital also relieved a lot of our anxiety. We are not used to maneuvering in a city

I travel frequently for business and have status at a number of chains, but I always pick the Normandy Inn when I stay in downtown Minneapolis. I was recently there on a leisure trip with my wife and daughter and had the good fortune of being there when local jazz vocalist, Charmin Michelle was performing in the lounge. The combination of a nice dinner, good cocktails and the music made for an enjoyable evening. I have found the Normandy Inn to be a pleasant departure from the sameness of many of the chain hotels. It is clean, comfortable, friendly, and has a number of amenities (such as a sauna, and live music) that are missing at most hotels. The restaurant is good (although the service is uneven at times) and the bar will happily depart from the cocktail menu to make something more bespoke. I would readily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Minneapolis.

Stayed here many times since I was a child and man was this trip terrible. Took the kids to see monster jam and got a king suite room. We pulled the sofa sleeper out for the kids as soon as we got there and started unpacking. The kids came running into our room asking what had fallen out of the sheets of their bed.. What was it? Two used condoms laying at the end of the sofa.. GROSS!! Clearly the sheet hadn't been changed or checked.. I sent the kids down to the pool area and called the front desk to send someone up asap.. The guy came up with a cleaning lady and was clearly as shocked as I was.. They left to get some gloves and keys to another room. He came back with new keys and a coupon for some free breakfast.. Yeah, the coupons were never used I can tell you that! We went to our show and basically checked everything before trying to get some sleep before our long drive home in the morning.. Really, free breakfast? Give me a break.. Clean your place up! ITS DISGUSTING!! I'll pay the same or even extra to stay somewhere else!

My wife and I stayed at the Normandy for one night and were impressed with the location, the ambiance, the service, and the coziness it offered in the heart of Minneapolis. The milk and cookies at 10:00 p.m. were a nice touch. They do it right!

Really nice visit. Stayed two nights for a Vikings game. Hotel is right in the middle of downtown and is in walking distance to a lot of great bars and restaurants. Really easy to get to using the light rail from the airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cool decor if you're into Bavarian themed stuff. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean, nice and cozy. Was surprised we had to pay for parking each day, which we were not aware of. However there is no street parking. Could get pricey if you're staying for a while. Didn't eat at the restaurant, but the menu had some nice selections.

This hotel is a great find in the downtown area. Parking is very convenient and inexpensive. The location is good and they have a shuttle to take you around the area. The staff is friendly and this hotel is great for families.

The normandy inn felt more like a ski lodge or hotel near the alps then middle of Minneapolis. Warm rich colors and pleasantly decorated for the holidays. We did try the restaurant but it smelled great. The suite was nice size only lacking a view. Shower was a highlight, unlike many where the shower is well it was a shower.

The hotel was attractive and clean. Service was excellent. It was so quiet I wondered if anyone else was there although the parking lot was full. The location was great for my needs. I could get to my daughters place Uptown in 12 minutes. No traffic. Nearby restaurants-Hells Kitchen was great and short walk from hotel.

Heating cooling wasnt working properly. Hotel was a bit noisy at night when sleeping. Other than these 2 problems the hotel room was spacious and the location was only a 7 minute walk to US Banks Stadium

The place was probably built as a theme hotel back in the day. But instead of being dated they have embraced it and made it fabulous. It has been updated and modernized without abandoning the fun theme. Clean! Will stay here again

I enjoyed staying at The Normandy Inn & Suites! The people were very nice. The place was clean and the food was great! The hotel is centrally located and not far from the railway to the airport, several restaurants even the conference I was going to each day. There was coffee by the front desk in the morning and even a fireplace!

Would definitely use this hotel again. Service was wonderful. Very close to us bank stadium. Clean and professional. We stayed in a suite and felt it was very spacious and meet our needs. We will use this hotel again in the future.

I am rather baffled how this hotel has such a high rating. What others may view as “quaint” I view as old. It smelled musty. We had a king “suite” which was two rooms separated by a hallway. The sitting area was set up silly with the tv next to the “couch” which was very uncomfortable and looked like it was made in the 60s. When I am spending over $250 a night I would like some comfort. We went out for breakfast and came back to find a maid in our room on the phone. we came in and she tried to keep cleaning so I had to ask her to leave and to come back after we were checking out.... literally was cleaning the room while we were still in it. Sure the location is great. Right between some good food and US Bank stadium but I don't think I would stay again.

Has the charm of an old-fashioned inn but all modern amenities of a large chain hotel. Rooms are clean, restaurant and room service has full menu, staff is very friendly and accommodating. Located in a good area of the city, near the light rail. On site parking for an additional fee.

There with customers and very disappointed with entrees. Very heavy with a chef that seemed to overcook everything. $365 for 5 without wine and they didn't even comp the parking of $9 for 2 hours. Hard to find a lighter entree in the menu.

A great place to stay. We don't get downtown very often and they were so friendly and helpful. They offer shuttles to where you need to go, which was great since we don't know the area. The restaurant was exceptional. We had both dinner and breakfast in the morning. The food was very good! Would definitely recommend to stay here.

The location was fine. There was some construction that caused a distraction. Finding the entrance to the private parking lot was the worst part. I was forced to park in a parking ramp, wasting $10, until I was told how to find the private parking, which I had already paid $10 for. The hotel room, restaurant, and location (in relation to the Target Center) were all ideal and enjoyable.

The convenience of the location, parking, shuttle, helpful and friendly staff made this a great stay! We've been to Minneapolis before on business trips, but got the biggest bang for our buck staying here. I will definitely stay again.

rented a king suite with my wife got back to our room at 11pm went to bed smoke alarm goes off lasts 15 seconds just enough to wake us so we lay there saying what was that all about, we eventually go back to sleep and are awakened again at 3:30 by the smoke dectector that shrieking noise again it stops 15 seconds later. So we are laying there wondering if we should call the front desk. It stopped so we didnt really want to wait up for maintainence. So again we try to get back to sleep, of course we are woke up again at 6:15 am and it doesnt stop so we call the front desk. The guy comes up 15 minutes later and says I will replace the battery well that didnt do anything so both smoke detectors were going off. He then ripped the wires off the back off the detector and that stopped it, I asked him to please note what happened on our account. When I went to pay my bill the so-called manager on duty was a jerk. I asked him if he could adjust our bill due to our inconveinence. Our bill was 152.00 for the room and parking he said he could take off 30 dollars. It was bad enough we didnt get any sleep what would have happened if there was a fire and we have a faulty smoke detector. Anyway thats not how you take care of your customers. Dont recommend this hotel

I stayed here because I had tickets to see Gareth Emry at the Armory. I was in shock at the decor and ammenties the hotel offered. My entire stay was perfect. my room was a suite, which it looked exactly like that.

I love this place, great staff, great location, great value. I stay here every time I visit Minneapolis. Their parking is a value too. Large pool, a great bar with a good selection of tap beer and happy hour menu.

BW offered everything I needed. The staff, from check-in to check out were friendly, helpful, polite, and just so accommodating. If you needed any help or anything, they tried their best to help you out and make your stay the best possible.

I stayed at this hotel as an alternative to higher priced options for a convention at MSP convention center. The hotel is pretty close. You can access the skyway in a couple blocks if weather is bad. The hotel has a hot tub but it is not quite hot enough. There is no breakfast, but nearby options are good. Parking was $10 per day with unlimited in/out which seemed reasonable. Mattresses were about perfect in my book, not too firm.

After staying at The Normandy Inn in downtown Minneapolis many times for the past four years, I can attest to the fact that this hotel never disappoints. It has a welcoming crew at the front desk, clean and comfortable rooms with all expected amenities, and it offers a complimentary late night snack of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and milk to make you feel at home. The recently renovated restaurant has great ambience and offers a superb menu of dishes designed by the newly appointed Chef. I always look forward to dining here! Not only the food, but the wine list is extraordinary, too! The service on all levels is very polite and professional, and it is a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

Looking at the great reviews and affordable rates, me and my father decided to book at this hotel. We booked a 2 Queen bedroom in advance. At first we were impressed as it seemed we got upgraded for free as the room description said it didn't include a fridge, safe, microwave, and coffee pot, but it did. The first thing we noticed was a piece of hair left on our "clean" towels in the bathroom, then we were going to put something in the fridge and there was an old McDonalds cheeseburger wrapper in there. It was stuck to the back of the fridge, so I know housekeeping didn't check the fridge at all. Gross! On top of that, the menu left in the room said the restaurant closes at 10pm, but your website said bar and restaurant is open until 12 am. Not knowing for sure what time your kitchen closes, we headed down to the bar. We were disappointed we couldn't order food at 11pm, because your bartender said they just closed the kitchen. Which time is it? I would definitely have a word with housekeeping. We won't be staying here again.

It s a nice hotel and, it was close to where I needed to be for the training however, I've never had to put a $100 "deposit" on my card when checking in. Additionally, they charge you $10 per day to park your vehicle, never had to pay to park before either.

Older hotel that works hard to.stay up to date. The price is right and provides the best option for me to come back. I did not get a chance to eat any of the food, work hours did not permit me the opportunity to.

Stayed here for our 2nd time last night. Great staff, clean rooms, fun bar/restaurant. Had drinks in bar-extensive wine/liquor list! Free coffee in AM. Good breakfast with prompt service.Older property but very well cared for. We always recommend this place to friends!

Everything is extremely overpriced, there's no continental breakfast, the lady at check in was amazing, but the receptionist at check out was far from pleasant. The location is good, other than that it's not worth the money or time.

I liked the room, room service and desk service. The only thing really disappointing was the pool.it was cold! Very cold compared to other hotels I've been at. The room was clean. Comfortable beds. Nice it was close to hospital we had to walk to.

I have always love The Normandy. The parking is wonderful for a busy downtown and the hotel is always so warm and embracing to me. We had a poolside room and enjoyed the clean and spacious area. Normandy also accepts dogs which is always a plus for me as I do travel with my dogs on a frequent basis.

Enjoyed a great stay here, room was pretty big and very comfortable! I had a view of the indoor pool area! Close to the convention center as well as the Armory. They serve warm cookies and milk in the evening. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean and convenient to downtown activities. There were no major problems with the hotel/staff. The road was ripped up outside for replacement. This is outside of the hotel control. They made it easy for access through the construction.

Once you get in its ok...but checking in and out is a nightmare. Booked online thru booking.com. dont know if its them or the hotel...but 40 min later we still arent checked in although i received confirmation emailsfrom the hotel etc. We have stayed here many times because of the location to the target field and the metrodome...every time checking in and out is an issue.... rooms are ok for the $.

Nice room with good seating. Luggage carts were available and convenient to parking. The negative for the room was there was only one outlet near the beds so we had to unplug the clock and use a power strip to use CPAPs at night. The hotel design and history were interesting. The restaurant was convenient, but pricey.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to provide good customer service. The room was clean, comfortable, and the hotel is in a great walkable location to lots of good restaurants in the area. Warm chocolate chip cookies at 10pm nightly was also a nice touch!! We'd definitely stay here again!

The hotel is an old one but quite well kept. The rooms are spacious, toilets are clean, with all amenities provided. I loved the fact, there's a jug in the room and you could just use the water dispenser to refill, instead of using plastic bottles. The check out was very hassle free. The attached restaurant is really good too. I wish they could provide a shuttle to the light rail station though.

Nice location in Mpls. Onsite parking, clean comfortable rooms. A charming hotel. Slept great. Will stay there again but next time not for business so we can enjoy the hotel more and the area around it.

I visited Minnapolis- St Paul on a solo craft beer trip from Sydney Australia. I've always travelled with a partner before this trip, so the silence in the hotel room can be a bit lonesome. The staff more than made up for it, as they were very friendly, & I had good conversations with a number of them. The rooms are very comfortable, & the hotel is located 2 blocks from the train to the airport, & a few blocks from Nicollet Mall, which is where some good bars & restaurants are. I highly recommend this hotel, whether solo, couples, or families!

I was pleasantly surprised by this Best Western, it had a lot more character than I expected. The staff were very pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The room was clean, quiet and spacious, despite the construction going on all around the hotel. Location is fairly central so I did not need to go far for food etc. The restaurant was excellent with a very cozy bar. Pool clean, if a little chilly at first, but the hot-tub was very welcome afterwards. Unexpected sauna, which I didn't use, but it was there! I especially liked the water dispenser next to the ice, with a pitcher in one's room, as I dislike using bottled water - well done Best Western.

He was super friendly, funny, and very welcoming as soon as we rounded the corner to check in. To bad we only got to see him once, but once to make a very good first impression. He wore a suit for a great appearance and it stuck great for us!

This is one of the better hotels we have stayed at. Check in was fast. Food was excellent. All staff were helpful and service was great. Staff answered any questions we had and made recommendations as to places to visit. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our room was clean and comfortable - but one thing that bothered us was how the air conditioner controls were set. The room would get very warm until the air conditioner came on and then when the air conditioner did come on you would freeze. No amount of adjustments seemed to help. The hotel, though, is located in a convenient spot in Minneapolis allowing us to walk to a variety of restaurants and some sites.

We will definitely come back. This is a very kid friendly place. The shuttle to the mall of America was very easy to use. The gentleman that was driving was very friendly. The only downfall was that the 4 different housekeepers I tried to talk to didn't speak english. Everyone was super friendly.

The hotel provides hospital rates and shuttles to/from medical appointments to the local University of Minnesota clinics and hospitals - a necessity when traveling in from other parts of the country/world for medical reasons.. Shout out to Chelle, at the front desk, who remembered us from a few months ago and couldn't do enough to make sure we were taken care of!

As soon as we drove up to the hotel we fell in love. The hotel looked like a cozy place that didn't belong in a city. The interior was warm and so clean. The staff went above and beyond what they needed to do. They recommended places to eat and helped us get around. I wish I remembered names but there was a gentlemen who was Spanish - who was so fantastic and helpful. He worked mainly in the afternoon/evening hours. All the girls were helpful as well. There was a gentlemen who sternly told my husband and I that the shuttle bus wouldn't be able to take us anywhere besides the convention center or the hospital but the day before someone told us they would take us downtown Minneapolis. That didn't deter us from going to the Target field to have fun. I love this place and I would stay here again for sure. They have a great pool and hot tub area as well.

Room was very good, staff at check in/out were fast and efficient but they did not inform me of an extra cost that is refunded until I called two days later. Parking can be a challenge if there are events going on at the stadiums nearby. Street out front was closed for construction. I would suggest the motel send out an email advising incoming guests on how to find the correct entrance.

We decided to have a stay over in Downtown Minneapolis. We arrived right at 3:00, lots of guests checking in, but the staff was calm, polite, worked efficiently. From the minute I secured my reservation on their website, I rec'd an email with our information. Early on the day of our arrival, we were sent an email for check-in, so when I stepped up to the desk, it was very quick and the staff person who helped me was great. Our room was wonderful. We had upgraded to a suite - worth the $$. We walked the eight blocks to the Twins game and had a bite out on the way! The room was clean, coffee maker in room, great shower, slept so well - we both slept in until 8:30!!! What? We are normally up by 6! Quiet and great room darkening shades! Will definitely stay again!

The location is excellent for US Bank or The Armory events. In addition to the on-site bar and restaurant, there is a great brewery and pizza spot (different businesses) across the street. The pool area is spacious and feels "outdoor". An all around great bargain.

From the time that you enter the grand lobby to the time you leave there are not enought words to say how great the staff and location were.walking distanct to almost everwhere in downtown room were super great and they have mike and cookie at nite

Great amenities and best staff I've ever experienced. I travel a lot for both business and leisure. It is without reservation that I consider the staff of this hotel to be the best ever.. from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant staff. So accommodating, friendly and truly wanting to make the stay a good experience.. a must stay hotel when in Minneapolis..

It was okay for one night but I am not sure if I would have wanted to stay longer. Construction around the hotel made getting there a nightmare. It would have been nice if the front desk had been more accommodating with my request for a late check-out.

We had tickets to Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles and this was a really great hotel option. Nice, smaller, not a big time hotel. Just really nice. Friendly staff and very close to everything downtown. Some of the rooms are updated and some are a bit older. We had an updated room and everything was nice. Onsite parking is a big plus.

On our way home we stopped in Minneapolis for a night & stayed here. Kids loved the pool. We made sure to eat dinner before arriving because there isn't much in the way of dining (except the hotel's restaurant) nearby (that we could find) that would be open on a Sunday night. We were able to find great breakfast places to go in the morning though. Kids appreciated cookies & milk at 10pm. It is not your standard cookie-cutter hotel lobby and entrance area which is a nice change. Rooms were fine, clean and updated. Minimal noise from hallway even with a large youth group staying in the same floor as us. We'd stay again if ever in downtown Minneapolis.

We stayed at the best western Normandy in Minneapolis because they had a so called ‘courtesy' bus that takes u and picks you up. We went to 3 games and it took the bus 50 minutes to pick us and another couple up. We called the hotel twice and so did the other couple all 4 times they said she was on her way. The second time we called they said she was stuck in traffic. We told them there was no traffic it was in the top of the 7th inning so it wasn't like the game was close to being over. Finally she came at 10;55 pm. We called at 10:10pm. Both nights. It took us less than 5 minutes for her to get us back to the hotel. JUST NOT RIGHT TO LIE TO PEOPLE And SAY YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY WHEN YOU ARE NOT. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! The third night we saw someone waiting for the bus. They said they called and the bus was on the way. We called an Uber. When we got to the hotel the bus was still there.

Stayed her for 4 nights in July. Walking distance to many of the attractions including Target Field, US Bank Stadium, Nicollet Mall,, Guthrie Theater and the light rail. Many bars and eating establishments are near by. Check in was easy and pool area is nice. Since the rooms are only on three floors there is not a problem waiting for an elevator.

Best place to stay and close to everything. Staff is brilliant and helpful. I am not there often but it is the ONLY place I stay at. The staff go beyond to help you out and it doesn't go unnoticed. No complaints at all

Great place and great staff. The lounge was cozy and the food and drinks were excellent. I would definitely stay there again. My next booking I hope to stay there for a Vikings game. There is so much to see and do in Minneapolis.

We enjoy the family friendly pool area for the kids at the Normandy. Our kids always look forward to the warm cookies and milk at 10. The one thing that would be better is if a breakfast was offered. Great location in downtown!!

The staff were excellent. Any issues that came up they would resolve immediately. The location was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Minneapolis. The only challenge was the fact that there are 3 separate buildings and we had people in building C (I was in A) that could only use the stairs if they were unlocked.

This is a quirky property. The entrance is a labyrinth with display cases with mementoes, a white grand piano in one area, and a very unique vibe. The desk staff are lovely and super efficient compared to others we'd encountered on our cross country road trip! They were sure to mention the cookies and milk at 10 pm and arranged our $10 parking fee (this fee does irritate me FYI. Can't hotels quit gouging us for everything! ) The room was adequate and we did not have a strange smell in the room. Actually the carpet in the corridor smelled new. Our rate included breakfast which was freshly cooked in the restaurant. Our server was delightful. The hotel is surrounded by roads that are being majorly reworked. Literally the building shakes when they start work and the floor resonates. There's some traffic noise at night but the AC helped drown it out.

Hotel is clean but has an old carpet smell. Rooms very small and do not have good sound proofing. Bathroom is very small. Beds are small doubles and old and creaky. Air conditioning system is very noisy. You can hear the inconsiderate guests in all areas and especially out in the pool area till late at night. Each night stayed had lots of people in pool till at least 11pm. Not a great area as everything a good few blocks away. There is no store nearby to buy last minute juice or water. Be warned there are HUGE roadworks going on all round the hotel grounds. Also lots of building construction works in area too. So we felt this hotel was very noisy between other guests and outside works. All pavements and roads covered in sand and dirt so you get really dirty walking in/out hotel. I wouldn't recommend as we found overpriced for condition.

A family of 3, we spent 2 nights here before heading off on a road trip. Our room (2 double beds) was fine, but we could really have done with queen beds. A bit squeezy. The restaurant was great...James really looked after us and made some great recommendations. The Hanger steak was unreal. We ate there both nights...and the steak was chosen both times. The only drawback was the roadworks right outside the hotel, which sort of detracted from the overall look, nut than not the hotel's fault. If we ever come back to Minneapolis we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights in July. The hotel is older/historic, but clean and well kept. The room was comfortable...nice towels and water pressure. The beds were a tad soft for our preference. We were able to walk to Mill Ruin park and across the Stone Arch Bridge. The hotel is also walkable to many restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the Nicolett Mall area. Although breakfast in not included, you can get breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. It was very good and not too expensive, in our opinion! We would stay here again.

US Taekwondo Championship. Stay was outstanding and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel. Was in walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Very quiet and no issues with any of the surrounding areas.

Perfect location downtown with quick access to Nicolet Mall and the light rail. Parking is so easy and reasonably priced compared to other downtown hotels. Love the 10pm milk and cookies-what a charming touch! Restaurant on site is a bit pricey but the food is good. Will definitely stay here again.

Be prepared to wait for the night clerk to let you back in after hours, if he is busy you may not get back in when you want! You have to be buzzed in after you show the clerk your card, never in my many hotel stays have I ever seen this type of set up.

I was on a business trip to Minnesota, but arrived a day early in order to explore Minneapolis and attend a Twins game. As is typical in large cities, most downtown hotels seemed overpriced (way beyond my budget) or were cheap (but nasty). The Normandy Inn hit all the right buttons. Reasonable priced, great location to walk everywhere downtown, updated and clean rooms, and friendly staff. This inn is old, but the inside has been renovated while keeping the "old world" charm. I really enjoyed my stay...the room was clean and modern, the bed was comfy, I had a fridge, and plenty of fresh/clean water thanks to their water filtration system set up by the ice maker. The front desk was helpful in showing me how to get around the city to major attractions. And, while I walked, they have a shuttle service to and from the Twins Stadium. I would definitely stay again!

We chose this hotel based off the pictures of it's unique atmosphere. Check-in was smooth and the hotel was clean throughout. They have a parking lot available for $10 which is nice due to the location of this hotel. It is located right in the heart of downtown and you can walk to endless bars/restaurants/entertainment. Nice pool/hot tub area. We didn't eat in the lounge/restaurant, but we did have some drinks, which were good and the staff was friendly. You also get fresh milk and cookies at 10pm :)

For a downtown hotel with its OWN car park ( 10 dollars a night ) you cannot go wrong. Very close to both stadiums-walking distance. Dont forget your swimming costume as its got its own indoor pool . Stayed here to go on a pilgrimage to prince . Central location . Enjoy

Came in for game at Target Field. We travel with our dog and this property is pet friendly. Parking onsite for a small fee. Offered shuttle service to stadium but we chose to walk to and from. Took about 15-20 minutes on foot. Thought decor throughout property dark and gloomy and aged. Rooms were clean but decor not very inviting. Property was very eco-friendly. We would stay here again.

This hotel is fantastic. It is right downtown and very close to both Target Field and US Bank Arena. The staff is so nice and made our stay wonderful. They provide shuttles to the sports arenas and set up a car service for us to go to the airport. Really nice people in a fun quaint hotel!

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Best Western Normandy Inn - a very nice hotel in a great location. It's an easy walk to Nicolett Mall with lots of shopping and great restaurants. The hotel has a very nice bar and restaurant as well. We enjoyed the pool and spa area. Our room was clean and spacious with a very comfy king bed. We did have 2 nights with a malfunctioning AC unit. It was finally replaced on the 3rd day and the GM graciously comped one night of our stay. Parking is only $10 per day, very reasonable for the heart of the city! Overall, highly recommend this hotel

In case of road construction, call ahead to find out! We were not aware of the road construction in the front of the Hotel, and not being from the area, we were confused as to where to park to check in. It meant a few times around the block to find a street parking place until we got checked in .

We drove to Minneapolis because we'd never been there and wanted a road trip from Chicago. We chose this hotel for its location close to restaurants and being fairly centrally located. It's walking distance to Nicolet Mall area, famous for dining, and the neighborhood feels safe. The hotel lobby and hallways seem a bit dated, but the room was fantastic, with a comfy bed, and the bathroom had been renovated and was quite surprising. If you travel during June 2019, you may experience road construction in front of the hotel, and further down on 8th Street. It was rather noisy (jackhammers, etc.) The hotel has an indoor pool that guests enjoyed - there was always someone in the pool. For $10 a day parking, we could come and go with the car, and that was nice. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Great overall location for getting around Minneapolis. Large room, good prices and friendly staff. Easy access to campus for visiting. Loved the breakfasts, especially the French toast, in the restaurant.

I stayed at the Best Western overnight for a concert and had an excellent experience. I took advantage of the pool area and was very impressed by the overall layout. I'll most definitely be back soon!

Great hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Great staff that is attentive to guests needs. Easy in and out parking. Close to everything the city has to offer at a reasonable rate. Definitely will stay there again.

Friendly people, nice room and a reasonable location; however, the TV was terrible. They have DirecTV and it was GOT Finale night. It just kept cutting out and losing signal. It was terrible and the rest of my 3 night stay was little better..

I have stayed at Best Westerns quite a bit. So, we chose to stay at this location in downtown Minneapolis. It's not a high-rise hotel like some that dominate the Minneapolis skyline. The lobby is clean and presentable. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. My only gripe really, is that they did not offer the free continental breakfast like what is typically offered at Best Western Plus hotels. I had to actually pay for breakfast. The food was delicious, but I was not expecting to have to actually pay extra for it. Still, the room was neat and clean. The hot tub was nice as well. It was very conveniently located in downtown Minneapolis. I highly recommend this hotel.

The very pleasant indoor pool, spa, and sauna were great place to recover from the chilly weather and unwind, if you have kids or don't mind being around kids. The on-site self parking was a good deal for downtown. Half a block from a skyway entrance in the 701 building.

This Best Western property is amazing. It is so unique and beautiful. Check-in with Daniel was quick and he was very helpful with mapping out my stay in the area. I had a room on the first floor; next to pool. The pool area is great with a hot tub and some patio seating. It was nice to be able to just open the patio door and have that so accessible. They serve milk and cookies in the lobby at 10 every night. The rooms are very clean and it was the softest mattress! Rooms are Very clean and modern even though the overall atmosphere is older dutch-like. Easy walk to the Twins game. They have a van that will drop off/pick up for free as well. I could probably tell you a hundred more things I liked. You won't regret your stay!

This hotel has a certain old world charm. Good size rooms and comfortable beds. Good bathroom facilities. Restaurant on site but service is very slow. Small range of snacks available. Our room was not serviced and insufficient tea/coffee provided. Nowhere nearby to have a quick meal

Check-in and check-out were good . The staff is very pleasant to deal with. The rooms are nice, roomy, and clean. They offer a shuttle to various locations for events(ie Target Center). Parking is reasonable, and offers in and out privileges.

Relatively new rooms with fridge and coffee machine. Good central location and great parking. There is a target with some groceries within 2 blocks and within walking distance to baseball field and theatres. So for what it is it's 5 stars

I stayed at hotel on a Friday night for an event at US Bank Stadium. I felt safe walking to US Bank (daylight) from hotel and back (dark) but we were with quite a crowd of people. The hotel was clean, rooms were clean. Shades on 3 windows in rooms kept rooms dark. Surface Parking is available on site but the lot is SMALL. We were lucky to find a spot but I'm sure many that stayed did not. I do not know if they have alternate location for guest parking.

Stayed here 2 nights. Arrived before checkin but front desk found me a room. Great because I needed the extra sleep from an early flight. Love that it only has 4 floors- much safer than a high-rise. Lovely decor and very helpful staff. Loved the shuttle to the convention center there and back. Ate at the restaurant for all meals. Yes it's a bit pricey, but the food is very good. The French sauces are gourmet and the pastry chef had some wonderful creations. Rooms are nicely sized and comfortable. Didn't use any of the amenities like the pool or workout room, I just relaxed, watched TV and was generally lazy. Just wonderful service and accommodations. I would definitely stay here again. Very central to the heart of downtown.

Great location, parking and comfortable! Plus, the staff is great and the hotel is beautiful! I might be partial because I love MPLS! Lots to do in MPLS! Walker Art Museum has a free sculpture garden and dedications to Prince all over the city (1st avenue)!

They deserve 5 stars in every category. The hotel was easy to locate, the staff were accommodating and very helpful. We used their shuttle service and they were reliable and prompt. The parking is on site.

This hotel is in downtown Minneapolis. We had a one bedroom suite, which was very nicely furnished. Parking is available in a lot behind the hotel for a much more reasonable rate that offered by competitors.

I stayed at this property due to a recommendation by the conference head I was attending. The parking was extremely frustrating with all the one way traffic and only one entrance in the lot, but once I got checked in and settled, I enjoyed the warmness of the hotel and the feel of being in another country. It is a unique hotel...I was quite impressed. I will definitely choose this venue again in the future.

I come to Minneapolis on business a few times a year. I always stay here due to the comfortable and clean rooms. Even though it's usually very busy it's always clean and I find it a great quiet hotel to wind down in after a long day of work or travel. The only complaint I have is the hot water takes a really long time to get hot . On this occasion the ice maker wasn't working but they were quick to respond. I think they definitely could improve the food in the restaurant. Breakfasts are amazing, however the room service and dinner menu is not great and honestly overpriced for the quality and portions. The service was good and quick but the menu needs a revamp. Love the fruit water in the lobby. Love the warm cookies and milk at 10pm every night. They have a great pool, hot tub and gym area. Love the central location but would not recommend walking around Alone at night as a women as I felt a little unsafe with the area, but absolutely fine during the day. The front desk staff could work on being more friendly but this will not keep me from returning. Loads of parking if you choose to drive. Lots of great restaurants in the area as well as an incredible flagship target store within walking distance , great for picking up snacks and inexpensive wine or spirits. With just a few small tweaks could be a Five star for sure !

Friends of mine suggested that my sister and I stay here while in Minneapolis for my sisters appt. I was impressed with this hotel. My sisters appointment was only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The room was quiet and very comfortable and the staff was very friendly as well.

We needed to stay at a hotel close to Abbott Northwestern Hospital due to the weather. This hotel is only 1.3 miles from the hospital. So if you need a place that is close, this is a good spot to stay. It is a very spacious, historic looking hotel with lots of charm. The room was large and comfortable. Everyone was nice and helpful. We paid $10 for parking which was right next to the door. Most of the parking is not covered but if you get lucky there are a few covered spots. We also had some drinks at the Normandy Kitchen in the evening. Earlier in the day I also had lunch there (chicken club and fries) which was just ok. The bartender Ross was accommodating and helpful. By chance we also had an opportunity to meet the owner Mike and had a nice visit with him, he is wonderful. The only downfall of the hotel I can think of is they do not let us pre-order room service so we were unable to have our coffee and breakfast delivered early in the morning. When we called down to the kitchen they said they did not open until 7 a.m. They do have free coffee in the lobby, so we made that work. Overall, if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay downtown that isn't too fancy, then you should stay here. I would like to come back for another visit again for pleasure not medical. Thank you Mike, Ross, and everyone else who helped welcome us and create a pleasant stay.

This hotel has a long history and has atmosphere. The suites on second floor have updated halls. Restaurant serves a French flairé which some may not be interested in but the desserts are amazing. Location and walkable to all theatres shows and sports venues.

This hotel is really good value and great overall experience. The staff was helpful, the room was comfortable, the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was lovely, with a great staff and good atmosphere. I would return.

We scheduled our trip to Minneapolis for spring break to visit the city and friends there and to give our kids (ages 8 and 4) a chance to go swimming in a pool. When we initially got there, we were put in a room right by the elevator with a view of another wall of the hotel. They kindly moved us to a better room which had a view of the street and away from the elevator. The room was fine and suited our needs for this trip, but the issues came up with the pool being closed for 2 and a half days straight during spring break. The first pool closure (Sunday) was because someone dueced in the pool, so it had to be closed or 24 hours. I get that you need to close it to clean it. However, the hotel then put up a sign that the pool would be closed the whole day on Monday as well due to scheduled maintenance. When I went to the front desk to ask about this, they said, "Well, it must have been scheduled after you booked your room otherwise we would have told you." Well, they could have told us when we checked in 2 days earlier so that we didn't unload our stuff and get settled in. When we book a hotel room with our kids, we look at if it has two rooms and how the pool is so that the kids can use it. This pool looked great and we were able to use it the first night, but having it shut down for most of our trip defeated the purpose of us staying there. Our only compensation initially was "Well, we won't charge you if you need to cancel your reservation and go to another hotel." We had already unpacked and had plans...we're not going to waste our time doing that. Finally on our last day (Tuesday), the pool still was not open in the morning, so the front desk offered a free breakfast and a late checkout. By the time we finished breakfast the pool was opened up. We had it to ourselves, but the chlorine levels were so high that we ruined two swim suits and we all got chemical burns from being the first ones in the pool. Kids still had fun, but we would have liked to have more pool time. In hindsight, I wish we had stayed at the Embassy Suites due to the pool issue and the location of that hotel. We had to walk about a half hour to get to Pizza Luce the first night and on the way back our kids got some experience in being drug deals and ladies of the night. There isn't much to eat in the vicinity of the hotel, so be ready to walk to get there.

Drove down from Canada for NBA game, only stayed one night but hotel was very nice. Vintage look and feel, seemed very large. Unfortunately for us we didn't stay long enough to fully check it out. Check in was easy and Daniel was awesome. Gave great directions on how to get to parking entrance. Parking was only $10 a night, very cheap for downtown rates. Large lot. Easy in and out. Our room was very large. Layout was a touch awkward but still very nice. Bedroom separate from living space and bar/ kitchen area. Only issue was no luggage rack. Bed very comfortable but pillows were small and went flat after about 30 seconds of laying on them. Bedroom had 2 windows but for some reason only one window had blackout curtains so it was quite bright. Room was very quiet which was great. Water pressure was awesome in the shower. Osmosis water next to the ice machine was a nice perk. No issues with WiFi, worked great for us. TV was satellite so there was a decent amount of channels however it kept cutting out. We think it was because the cable was spliced between the tv in the bedroom and the one in the separate living area. Staff was great, all very friendly. Overall very nice stay.

The staff is courteous & clearly enjoy their jobs & the people they work with.Sure, there may have been a couple mistakes, but they corrected it quickly. The rooms were very clean, the decor beautiful, we enjoyed our 3 days there.

I thought my stay at the Best Western Normandy was very relaxing and I would stay there again. The staff was helpful and pleasant. I believe the price was reasonable. It was clean, quiet and was kept up. I thought the atmosphere was great.

We were there for medical appointment. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had the shuttle service that took us to and from my appointment which took pressure off of us. Breakfast was delicious.

Bed was awesome, very comfortable. Restaurant overpriced and not much of a selection. They had a free shuttle to Target Center (which was the main reason I chose this hotel) but it didn't state that it would only take us there but not pick us up after our concert. (you have to call by 10:15pm in order to get back). Was easy enough to get to but not really any places to eat close by.

My daughter and I stay at this hotel several times a year for dance conventions and competitions. I love the location, easy to park and walk to just about anywhere. The rates on rooms are much more affordable then the other downtown hotels and I feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck. Staff are always friendly and they have a nice pool area. The only thing that I would suggest is ordering food in or walking somewhere for food as the attached restaurant is not the best option for food. The bar area is nice and drinks are good, staff have always been great but the food quality is a little lacking. Overall I would pick this hotel for a downtown staff any day of the week.
