All at Moor Hall Hotel My wife and I would just like to say a massive thank you, to you and all the staff involved with organising my wife's 60th birthday celebration. Everyone had a fantastic time, the spa was lovely, the rooms and venue, the food was also amazing. All the staff were so friendly and professional. I would also like to add that the service provided by Xavier (the maitre d') and his staff were the most polite, professional and attentive that we have ever come across. Took my mum to the Poppy Day Lunch with songs being sang by the D-Day Darlings. It was an absolutely lovely day the food was gorgeous with generous servings. The waitresses/waiters were very attentive and the food was still piping hot. The entertainment was brillant with plenty of songs being song. I can highly recommend this venue and food and I'm looking forward to going back in the future.

We booked a room for one night as we attended a wedding there on that day - the venue for a wedding is perfect, the room is beautiful and the reception area is fantastic (As was all the food!). Room was exactly what we needed, and actually slightly bigger than expected. With the exception of the Bathroom, it is a little dated, but this wasn't an issue at all. Bed was extremely comfy, and although the room positioning meant it was a little noisy, we had a great nights sleep. All the staff we encountered were great - Mia at the bar in the wedding area was lovely! Breakfast was also great. No issues at all - would definitely recommend!

We received a one night stay from my mother in law as gift.. what can I say? We didn't want to leave! Everything was perfect from the 3 course meal to the bedroom and breakfast the next day we literally could not fault it! What a beautiful hotel! We are looking to book in again in a few months. The spa facilities were wonderful as parents of 5 children we don't often get the chance to have an evening away and this was perfect, the steam room and sauna and pool were 5 star, I haven't swam so much in about 10 years! The food was beautiful and so was the beverages to wash it all down. The staff are so kind and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Honestly I haven't relaxed so much in years, thank you for having us!!

Had attended a family christening at the nearby Golf Club and stayed overnight at the Hotel. Was given a nice room on the ground floor which was very warm. My wife and I then retired to the bar after what we thought had turned down the radiator. Spent a pleasant evening in the bar with the family, the drinks were fine but a bit on the expensive side at nearly £5.00 A pint. To a country person that is way above what we pay locally. They do a very nice bar sandwich with chips and salad. On returning to our room later we found the room still extremely hot and uncomfortable to stay in. We asked for help with the radiator and despite the young man who came to help could not get the radiator to cool down. In fairness to the Hotel they quickly found us a new room with a fourposter bed much cooler. My brother in the next room also had the same experience. However we were not unhappy with anything and we had an extremely good breakfast next morning. Would stay again.

Stayed one night for birthday weekend. Hotel is a traditional old style country house, very cosy and welcoming. Staff were very friendly, efficient and capable. We had an upgrade to a huge Superior room, very comfortable, loads of space. Lovely shower. Lots of extra touches...birthday cake and card, biscuits and chocs. We had the carvery dinner which was superb. Three courses and plenty to eat. Breakfast in the morning was excellent too. The swimming pool got quite crowded but was still lovely, better in the morning and not as busy. Only negative was that our room was really hot, we asked to have the heating turned down which it was but it was still stifling. Other than that..lovely hotel and we will be back!

Just returned from a weekend at Moor Hall hotel. Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and opposite a golf course and park. Staff could not do enough to help, they were so very friendly and polite. Food was great, we did the carvery for our evening meal. All the food was hot and fresh. Again breakfast was just as good, with nothing running out on the buffet. The pool is a little small especially if you go down there at the wrong time. Bars are nice and there are some lovely period rooms to sit in and relax. The only thing letting it down are the rooms (although I'm basing this on our room). The room was meant to be an upgraded ‘deluxe' but it was very old and in need of modernising and decorating. The room itself was large due to it being a disability access room. However there was hardly any natural light in the room and the lighting was poor. The bathroom was not cleaned properly and as it had an open shower suitable for wheelchairs, the bathroom floor flooded constantly. Aside from the above this is a nice place to visit, just be careful of the room you are allocated.

From check in to leaving the staff were amazing, very welcoming and friendly. We had a double deluxe room which was immaculate. Room service was amazing, nothing was ever any trouble. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here for a friends wedding and although some of the rooms are a little old fashioned and tired looking I can honestly say the service is outstanding. To me this is the most important factor when choosing somewhere to stay. Soya milk was provided to our room upon request and when I was concerned about it going off, a friendly porter bought a fridge to our room! A whole, entire fridge! Throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble (veggie sauasages for breakfast - no problem!) and the bed was really comfy! Fantastic team of staff. Thank you ☺️

Visited the Country Kitchen on a Wednesday evening with family. Food was hot, plentiful and tasty (carvery style). Service was friendly and efficient. Good choice of wine and other drinks. Would recommend.

We booked for an overnight stay as we were joining family members to go to a function a few miles away. The front desk was extremely busy when we arrived, but as it was a Saturday and just on the 3pm check-in time, were happy to wait. We had booked room only and was allocated a ground floor room on a central corridor. I then met my family who arrived a short while after, unfortunately they were kept waiting for their room for quite a long time as housekeeping hadn't finished. Our room was spacious enough, but it definitely is in need of a wardrobe upgrade and the room seemed quite dark despite the lighting. The bathroom had recently been refurbished and the shower was great, apart from it flooding the floor as the shower screen was not long enough to stop water going all over the place. A kettle with tea and coffee was provided and there was air conditioning in the room. Unfortunately, I felt the mattress was far too hard and as the room was located on a corridor trying to get some sleep with late night guests passing through and banging doors and having conversations outside, left me tired and weary the following morning. My experience wasn't the best, but can appreciate those staying for longer and on a spa weekend would make more the facilities.

Enjoyed a fantastic Spa day here with my partner. Everyone was so friendly, Abbey was lovely. The facilities were lovely and clean, the pool isn't massive but was beautiful and sooo warm. The back massage was fantastic. The gym is a bit old but has lots of equipment. I was even shown how to use the gym kit by the very helpful Spa manager Mat, who came to my rescue when he saw me wandering around the gym looking confused. Cannot wait until my next Spa day here which I have already booked.

While my mother was in hospital nearby my husband and I stayed here a couple of times and we received very good service and our rooms were comfortable and clean. Sadly Mum died this month and we immediately thought that Moor Hall would be an excellent venue for the wake. From the moment I rang and spoke to Lauren to place the booking and throughout the event held yesterday we received the very best courteous and efficient service. The food was delicious and plentiful and a lovely lady called Pat kept a close eye on what was required. They made a difficult day so much better. I would happily recommend Moor Hall for events. There is a bar and also lovely gardens available for guests to enjoy, together with plenty of parking spaces which is an essential ingredient when organising an event.

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. The room was clean and comfy, the facilities were good. We ate in the country kitchen which was a three course carvery and it was excellent. Staff were lovely and helpful. Highly recommended

WOW! where do I start! We couldn't of chose a better wedding venue than Moor Hall in October 2018. We truly had the best day ever imaginable! I'm the most indecisive person and Moor Hall was the first wedding venue we looked at and straight away we both fell in love with the stunning building and knew this was the place to hold our wedding, we truly felt we would be well looked after here... and we were! The event manager Georgia was just amazing from the moment we first spoke to her up until our big day, nothing was ever too much trouble for, and she definitely helped us in making our dream wedding come true. Thank you x The wedding day its self ran so smoothly from start to finish, all of the staff on the day were just fantastic, over-delivered and made our wedding day an absolute dream. We would like to say a special thank to Jamie who was amazing throughout the day. Ensuring that the day kept flowing, introducing speeches, trying to organise our band and also keeping myself topped up with drink in between pictures with our photographers. We really can't thank them enough for making it the most perfect incredible day ever! The wedding breakfast and evening food was impeccable and so tasty! All of our guests commented on how delicious it was along with what a stunning venue Moor Hall is, everyone was so impressed with just everything! Just spent two lovely nights at Moor Hall - an annual event. As always, the service was attentive, the food excellent and the surroundings couldn't be more lovely. Our newly renovated bathroom was well done (although I would have preferred a bath) and while the bedroom was dated, it was clean and had all the comforts needed. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Moor Hall after visiting an exhibition at the NEC. The room was very small and dated although clean and comfortable. It was difficult to get the right temperature in the shower as it was fed from the hot and cold taps and there was a crack in the bath. We ate in the Country House Kitchen which we were really disappointed with. They do a carvery from 12 to 9pm and we ate in the evening. It felt like the food had sat there for a long time - over cooked vegetables and leathery Yorkshire puddings. We did advise the waiter and he agreed to waive charges for our bottle of wine - we felt this was good customer service. At breakfast there were long life yogurts, very little fruit and hot buffet. If you wanted anything freshly cooked you had to pay an extra £2.50. This hotel is reached via an impressive drive and the building looks grand. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Beyond this though, our stay was sadly lacking and we will not return.

Staff were very helpful. Hotel was nice, felt a little odd you had to go past all the dining places to get to the leisure centre and spa. Mostly clean place although one of our pillows had pink stains on it, but we just didn't use that pillow. Carpets in the room could use updating as appear a bit old. Shower was nice and clean! Toilet paper a bit out of reach right under the sink but not a problem. All in all well worth what we paid to stay.

Stayed on a business trip for 1 night ...room was very clean and spacious...food was quick and very tasty..clean and staff very polite ..would definately come again and use the spa facilities also ..breakfast plentiful and lots of variety

Our family gets together every other year to catch up and have a social weekend. I chose the Moor Hall hotel for its location, central England so that everyone from around the UK had equal travel times. from the time we checked in to the time we left the staff here were the best we had seen for a long time. friendly, courteous and could not do enough for you. Some of us started our weekend on Friday and others came on Saturday. Everyone was met with a warm friendly welcome. The carvery on Friday was excellent food and choice. There is a 2 AA star rosette restaurant but we did not try that but it looked really good. The spa facilities were excellent. We had a room for pre-dinner drinks that was cosy and this was followed by a 4 course meal in a private room. We were looked after by Pat and her team, who were excellent, they could not do enough for us, we were very well looked after. Even though there was a wedding and a coach load of people the hotel did not seem crowed and there were plenty iof staff to look after us. This hotel is steeped in history and has great wooden panelling I would say that it was a warm October we were there but the rooms 1 to 11 on the ground floor were hot. having said that the hotel gave us a fan and complimentary water. i would suggest a first floor room. I would highly recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to going back

We booked a couple of days at Moor Hall Hotel and Spa to break up our long journey up country. The hotel is large and very well maintained. The staff in all areas of the hotel were very attentive, ensuring our stay was relaxing, pleasant and worthy of wanting to return again some day. Our room was very spacious, exceptionally clean and had all the added little extras to make us feel we were staying in a quality hotel.

My husband brought me here to the Oak Room for my birthday meal, which we both enjoyed thoroughly. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The meals we had were beautiful, I would recommend this hotel.

We were delighted with the afternoon tea that formed a birthday celebration for me and my family at Moor Hall. The venue was lovely and the food very freshly prepared. The lemon tarts were a particular favourite with my mum who is very hard to please! More than that, the staff looked after us with a great deal of personal care and also accommodated a very complex range of dietary requirements (diary free, vegetarian and 'plain and simple'). We especially appreciated the different types of afternoon tea that were available and which made the event extra- special.

Very nice clean hotel, staff were great and all smiles all round. Internet in room was slow to connect but did manage to get on after a few attempts. parking good with room for big van. Food very good standard

We were given a voucher by our son for afternoon tea, which did not disappoint. We were met and directed into a separate room where a table had been reserved for us. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and we really enjoyed our afternoon.

It was a very busy day. A wedding was taking place as well as many diners being there. I had been there for 45 minutes and had to chase twice for our afternoon tea. The children's afternoon tea wasn't correct and we felt neglected - I had said it was my dads 70th upon booking & was informed they would decorate a plate. This never happened. Very disappointed.

My husband surprised me with a 1 night stay at Moor Hall Hotel with a 3 course meal & breakfast which I was very excited about, as I have been wanted to stay here for a while now. The main part of the hotel was lovely, but additional buildings had been added on over the years, which really detracted from how lovely the original house is. Our room was located in the 'new' part of the hotel and despite the hallways needing updating, our room had been newly decorated with a brand new bathroom (we stayed in room 22 but when walking past room 23 which was being cleaned, the bathroom was old and very dated, so if this bothers you, request a room with a new bathroom). Although the room was small, it was very comfortable and was tastefully decorated. We went down to the pool once we had put our bags in the room, and as hotel pools go, it was quite a good size, and had a steam room and sauna, but these were quite small. There was also a Jacuzzi, but it was full the whole time we were in the pool, which was slightly disappointing. It's not really a complaint as its what is to be expected on a Saturday afternoon, but if you like peace and quiet and want to lie on a bed with a book, I would suggest going in the week and in term time, as there weren't any spare beds. We managed to find a chair to put our towel and robe, but I did notice some had to resort to putting on the window ledge. We had breakfast the next morning, and there was plenty of variety. You had a choice of continental and a Full English breakfast. From looking at the menu, they did cater for vegetarians, and I think vegans, but I would check before you book. Anything not on the buffet can be ordered, but you would need to pay a supplement. Overall, our hotel stay was really nice, and the staff were very attentive, but once the hotel is updated throughout (although if the main part of the house is left as it is, it wouldn't be a bad thing, as it was beautiful), it will be even better.

We were presently surprised when we drove up to this property - absolutely gorgeous setting. Staff very professional and courteous. Service was great. Can't wait to visit this hotel next time I am in the UK.

This hotel needs a refurbishment from top to bottom. Its dated and very tired looking. Corridors, carpets, rooms needs updating. We had dinner and breakfast at this hotel, food was good. Staff and service is very good, but overall not a 4* hotel.

Me and my husband got married here on the 21st September and omg what a day perfect from start to finish.. Jamie the wedding manager was just top class. Nothing was to much trouble and the hotel is just stunning. Our day was perfect thankyou moor hall.

We had an overnight stay bought as a birthday gift. Our room was super, warm and comfortable. The refurbished bathroom was superb. Included in our stay was a carvery supper, 3 courses, which was lovely, and a great breakfast. The hotel is in a lovely location and our stay was very enjoyable.

I booked Moor Hall as unfortunately everything in Birmingham city centre was triple the usual price due to all the conferences this week. Being a 4* I hoped it would be more than adequate and was quite looking forward to a 4* hotel and spa. The drive up to the hotel was lovely , it looks grand and expensive so I was pleased with my choice until I saw the room. Firstly, the curtains were worn and old-fashioned and didn't draw properly. The throw on the bed was covered in pulls and threads and the carpets was stained. All very old fashioned, very dark furniture, bad lighting and a small room. This hotel definitely hasn't been upgraded for years . The bathroom was very dated , but clean . No luxury feel, I wasn't looking forward to sleeping in the bed or using the shower. The whole idea of a night away is to feel relaxed and a bit spoilt, this simply couldn't offer that. Unfortunately to add to it, the sink made gurgling noises when someone in another room ran the taps and you could hear people walking across the floor in the room above! I definitely wouldn't stay again or recommend for an over night visit, what a shame they've let such a lovely looking hotel go waste by offering substandard rooms. The restaurant in the evening offered carvery , no vegetarian option other than pizza or veggie burger, so hard luck if you were looking forward to a meat free roast! Service was slow , decor however , compared to the bedrooms was lovely, and staff were attentive and pleasant.

The Moor Hall Hotel is a lovely little country mansion of a hotel. It has some very attractive old parts which are flanked by more modern but sympathetic additions including the spa and conference suites. The staff are really friendly and extremely helpful. I entered my room for the first time to find I had mistakenly booked a twin room rather than a double. Elise (sorry if I've got your name wrong!) couldn't have been more helpful in getting me a double room. The grounds are lovely, backing on to a golf course. There are also a couple of large conservatories to sit in when the weather turns cold. As for the restaurants - well, there are 3 options from bar food to a carver to a formal restaurant. I opted for a lamb burger from the bar and it was terrific. It was even warm enough to sit outside on the attractive patio area whilst I ate.

I stay at this hotel most months for a night or two. Everything you want and need and not pretentious. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Ask for a room overlooking the golf course - they're more expensive but more spacious and quieter. No hesitation in recommending.

We came (late) for a wedding on Sept 15th. I had booked it some time ago on a "Wedding Rate", which after looking at Booking.Com, was not that 'special'. As we live in Spain, I phoned the hotel to confirm check-in time and was told it is 15:00. I pointed out that we were coming to a wedding that was happening at the hotel itself at 14:00 and surely they could see this on their 'special wedding system'. I was told that they would try and get us an early check in, but that it was not guaranteed. Anyway the next day I called them and was told that it was OK. We had stayed locally so it was not such a problem, but had we been coming directly from the Airport, I don't see how we could have got changed and ready. I think they should look at this. All that said, we arrived very late, just about managed to park and the staff whizzed us thru check in, and one of them helped carry our change of clothes upstairs to our (very nice) room. We made it downstairs to the wedding after most people but thankfully before the bride. Everything else was good, the weather the wedding dinner, then late night snacks, even a sweet stall. Overall I liked the place and especially the staff. We had no real chance to use the Spa or facilities as you have to check out at 11:00. So check in at 15:00 and out at 11:00? I think they need to hire more chambermaids. All that aside a very good place for a function or weding. Just beware of the timing if you are coming from afar. BTW, room nice, very comfy bed, couldn't find USB port for charging phones etc, finally found one in the morning underneath the bedside clock/alarm. A couple more would be appreciated, especially for corporate functions.

Ltd parking on day of arrival however booking in was easy and we had been upgraded to a superior room Only 2 minor issues WiFi is rubbish and no power points by bedside cabinets Our function room was well laid out and the food was fantastic and Jamie looked after us very well Breakfast was very good and the selection was great Overall a great stay great beds and rooms and would do it all again Thank you

Extremely nice place to stay. tucked away in the woods. Staff and service are outstanding. Had no idea what I had booked until i got onsite and way very surprised that I had not found this place earlier in my many trips to the UK area.

This is just a few words to say say thanks for your services and the overall experience when hiring your honeymoon suite for our wedding. The room was excellent and in magnificent setting overlooking the country house and gardens. I also stayed the night before alone where I sat out on the front looking over views with a couple of whiskeys to calm the nerves, then when we arrived back the following night everything was sorted out for us and the overall service was excellent. Some of our wedding guests also stayed in the hotel and also expressed how pleased great it was. Thanks again and I would not hesitate to recommend your hotel in the future

My husband and I went to their country kitchen restaurant yesterday for our wedding anniversary, we went on recommendations but we were disappointed. We had the carvery which was not very warm at best. When asked if everything was okay I said the dinner was cold they apologised but that was it. They did say if I had spoken before I had ate it they would have done something which I presume would have been to microwave the meal, but I don't know. I know the meal was a set price but we only had two courses and were charged for three. On ordering we told the waiter we didn't want a starter, but we were not informed that we would be charged for it in any case. Overall I feel we did not have value for money.

A friend and I went for afternoon tea a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and the cake of course. Sitting on the patio on a warm sunny afternoon sipping prosecco and eating sandwiches and cake, what more could girls ask for. The staff we're attentive but not over bearing, took onboard our dietary requirements and served with a smile.

We've been visiting Moor Hall for several years now and have always had a great time. Yes, the odd mattress needs replacing, but we've always found the hotel comfortable, the food to be excellent and, above all, the staff to be helpful, friendly and caring - nothings too much trouble! Just stayed overnight on a spa break. This was not my first choice of hotel, but am so glad we came. What a wonderfully surprising place. The building has the most amazing vibe to it, the grounds are beautiful and every single member of staff we encountered was friendly, cheerful and helpful. Yes yes yes to future visits.

A fantastic experience, we were greeted by the Spa manager who took us through to our arrival drinking. After enjoying them we then made our way back to the Spa reception where we were give our treatment times, and given a tour of the facility and pointing out where to meet for the treatments. We were then given some robes and a towel (bring another of your own for showering at the end) After changing we spent some time in a beautiful relaxation room as our treatments were quite early, there was an endless supply of Tea/ coffee/water (we were advised to keep hydrated) The treatments were luxurious, the beauty professionals Calida and Michaela did an exceptional job, thank you. Lunch next which was very hearty, and then time to enjoy the steam room/sauna etc. all amazingly spotless. Even the checkout was an amazing experience with Abi and Sadie. We really really REALLY enjoyed our day here, Thank you ALL so much :)

We had an absolutly brilliant time, we were greeted by the spa manager who was very friendly and proffessional, had amazing massages and facials by Calida and Michaela the the reception staff Abi and Sadie were so lovely and helpful and easy to talk too, the staff made everything that much better, the service there is a very high standard, and the facilities were great! overall experience fantastic, definitley recommend going and we will be returning soon.

We stayed at the hotel on a Friday evening, 7th September... The hotel was spotlessly clean upon arrival and during our stay. we had bid successfully for an upgraded room and it was gorgeous....We had a meal in the carvery, superb food with plenty of choice off the menu or from the carvery, and three lovely courses! And the breakfast was equally outstanding. The staff were outstanding, from Julie on Reception to Karl, the Night Manager! They were attentive, remembered your name and asked about you and the stay in a positive way. We did not use the Spa, as we ran out of time that evening and the next day. Was there anything I could complain about - not at all! I stay in many locations with work, and this is without doubt the best hotel we have had the pleasure of staying in!

Management team need to be sorted out. Rude and arrogant woman in management, will not be staying here. No member of staff should talk to customers in such a way. Would be a nice place to stay if the staff were a bit more professional.

We stayed at this hotel for one night for a wowcher deal and had a lovely stay. The spa facilities were great, every member of staff were very friendly and welcoming and the carvery and breakfast was tasty. The room was clean and the bed very soft. We would defiantly recommend a stay at this hotel.

My family and I have been having Afternoon Tea at Moor Hall for some years. We have tried other venues but none meet Moor Halls excellence in the delecious food, tea and coffee and fabulous service. Well done, looking forward to the next already.

A lovely generous tea in lovely relaxing surroundings.Reasonably priced and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.It is well worth a visit.The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and lovely to look out on while sitting in the lounges

Arriving at the reception to check in, we where attended by the most pleasant and courtliest staff, We had a family room which was clean and welcoming. Also with a little baby, a cot was ready for us. Thank you staff for being genuine, caring , attentive without any quibble. beautiful ground for photos .The food was lovely, Thank you dining to dining room staff and the chef Carlos. We highly recommend a stay at Moor hall spa and hotel Sonia C.

We recently stayed at the hotel and was left quite disappointed. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and great for a wedding, but the hotel rooms are not worth the money even at a discounted price. We were in a superior room, that was meant to have a double or king sized bed, but this was just 2 beds pushed together. The bathroom was like a school gym and everything was dull/old and needed a revamp. Was disappointed in the rooms for such a nice hotel. Other guests staying in the same rooms also had extra features such as a jacuzzi bath which we didn't have. We were also given not even a quarter of a toilet roll and we had to go to reception to ask for more. Toilets around the hotel also didn't have toilet rolls regularly refilled. Would not stay again, very let down.

We got married at Moor Hall on 18th August and we had the most amazing day! Beautiful surroundings, amazing food and perfect staff! The day went by so smoothly all thanks to Jamie Hall. We owe Jamie a huge thank you, nothing was too much trouble for him - he made sure that we knew what was going on every step of the way and was understanding at how overwhelmed we were with everything going on, even running to grab me a pint of coke to quench my thirst in the middle of dinner! Hehe! All of the guests commented on our beautiful venue and every single one of them loved that they turned up for the ceremony and didn't have to move again! My wife and I got married at Moor Hall 7 years ago (28/08/2011) and it was the most amazing day! This year to celebrate our anniversary we decided to book the romantic escape back at Moor Hall and like our wedding day we weren't disappointed! Top class service, top class food and a room upgrade for our anniversary! Full use of the spa facilities and fantastic breakfast the following morning! Well done Moor Hall! Another gleaming review for an almost perfect hotel!

We had a lovely stay here, the hotel was amazing, beautiful surroundings, amazing staff and food, very clean and the spa was lovely. Will definitely be staying here again soon 5*, thank you for such a lovely relaxing stay.

Very nice stay at a lovely hotel in a nice area near Birmingham. Booked via secret escapes and no issues with booking or checking in. Excellent facilities in a superior room which had plenty of room and additional items such as complimentary fruit and drinks. Very nice touch from housekeeping staff who noticed my wife was pregnant when we checked in and 5 mins later a knock on the door and a lovely gift of a teddy bear for the baby. Leisure facilities are good albeit the pool Was very busy whilst we were there. The only reason we gave 4 instead of 5 rating was that they did not police the times children were allowed in the pool. We were informed they were allowed in between 9am and 6pm, but were allowed in at 8am and after 6pm which meant a leisurely swim was not available. Breakfast was a buffet with eggs to order. All was very good and they even had some black pudding I requested which was great. Overall a very nice hotel and in a lovely quiet private area which led to a relaxing stay which is what we wanted. Would recommend

Excellent stay again. All of the staff are exceptionally helpful, approachable and friendly. Staff in the bar are quick to serve and ensure you are not waiting for drinks, Grace is a lovely young lady. The staff in the country Kitchen are amazing, had an excellent meal cooked by Brad, accompanied by excellent service from Chantelle, Troy and Leanne. Am looking forward to returning

What a wonderful afternoon. Would highly recommend booking afternoon tea sandwiches and cakes were delicious. So many cakes my friend and I both had some boxed up to take home. I have to say I'm very particular with my cup of tea but this too was lovely. And plenty of top ups. The staff were very efficient and pleasant without being too in your face. All in all a lovely experience

Stayed overnight following the wedding of my son on Saturday 11th August 2018. The wedding was wonderful and Jamie our wedding manager did a spectaculor job and just made the who event run so smoothly from start to finish. The hotel room was spacious with everything you'd expect from a hotal of this calibre. During the day and our stay the staff were professionaly and extremely helpful. Thank you for making the day one I'll never forget.

Stayed for one night to meet up with friends for a birthday surprise. Superior room clean, spacious and comfortable. Three course dinner and breakfast next morning first class. All the staff extremely courteous and pleasant. Historic building and interesting gardens & woodland walk. Can't fault it on any measure.

This is a perfect base for exploring the local area. Handy for Lichfield & The National Memorial Arboretum. Set next to a golf course it was so quiet. The staff are so friendly, but not over the top. For example: Janet who is a breakfast waitress, not only greets you but happy to have a friendly chat too, so you feel like a person, not a number. The rooms are clean and comfy, with excellent en suites. We enjoyed relaxing by the in door pool. With 2 restaurants & bar meals you are never hungry.

The Hotel is set in it's own grounds with a golf course and has lovely, clean, spa facilities. The staff are all excellent, really genuinely lovely people. Kelsie on reception is an amazing young lady, an actual star, every time I arrive she makes me feel very special, nothing is too much trouble and I am treated to a genuine smile and made to feel extremely welcome. It can be quite lonely staying on your own in a hotel but with people like her working here you feel at home instantly. She manages the desk with an amazing dynamic, making sure that everybody is treated extremely courteously and with professionalism. it is a genuine pleasure to stay here. I can also recommend the country Kitchen Managed by Chantelle who is another star again nothing seems to be too much for either of these ladies, which makes staying away from home a pleasure.

Lovely building and grounds. The rooms however... it was so so hot in the room that I had to order a fan (should just be in the room/wardrobe) I could hear everything in surrounding rooms coughing chatting and TVs. Throughout the entire night there was a member of staff walking around the hallways with their loud keys. Didn't have a great nights sleep due to this. Room service was good and prompt. Breakfast staff very friendly. Room was clean just very out dated.

Reception good and efficient. Bar area and outside are superb. So relaxing. Rooms are dated and could do with updating to 4 star standards But bathroom clean and tidy. Would return here if in the area again

Beautiful grounds, Fantastic Bar Staff ( few & far between) , an awful lot of waiting around for service, but make up for it with personality. Its my first stay here and i was very disappointed with my room but I complained to reception and was given another room eventually which was supposed to be a superior deluxe room. I had a lovely view of a flat roof with a fence and was only slightly better than the damp old fashioned room they tried to palm us off on. The hotel is supposed to be 4 star, however there is no fridge, I had no hairdryer and the rooms are dated.I work in a 3 star hotel in Ireland and customer service is paramount, you need to update and continue with your staff as they made our stay better regardless of the room. I appreciate Pav, Jamie, Alice & Troy, THANK YOU ALL.

We got married here on Sunday 29th July and since planning this wedding up until the big day, the staff have been fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Georgia in Events made sure that I had thought of everything before the big day and accommodated what we wanted. My dress was delayed the day before and needed to be delivered to the hotel on the night before. The staff on the front desk and receptionist on the Health club desk worked together to ensure that I could see the dress before it was taken to my room. On the day, Andy from the team looked after us to make sure everything went to plan and schedule, and he was fantastic. He couldn't do enough for us and was really helpful. I would highly recommend this venue if you are wanting a wedding in beautiful surroundings.

I stay at Moor Hall when in the Birmingham region for work around 4 times per year (usually around a week at a time). Whilst the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, it is the staff that make my stays very enjoyable and memorable. Pedro, Javier and all of the staff in the Oak Room Restaurant are attentive and engaging, and the lounge & reception staff are extremely customer orientated. I look forward to returning there each time

My friend and I booked a Spa Day at Moor Hall for my birthday. We have visited several times before and have always been impressed. However, we were very disappointed in the Customer Service we received on this occasion. We ordered coffee and white toast for breakfast - after an extremely long wait the coffee arrived with no toast. Coffee finished, still no toast and my friend had to go to the bar and ask where the toast was. A very polite waiter came shortly after with two slices of brown toast between us - we always had been given a rack with several slices. We eventually got through to the pool after ordering lunch for 1pm - the lady on reception was not aware lunch was part of the package. Had a lovely couple of hours around the pool and went for lunch at 1pm - we were told that we couldn't have lunch upstairs which we have done on every visit and had to walk through the bar in robes with wet hair. There were three ladies behind reception and two were non-apologetic and quite rude.... Lunch finally arrived at 1.20 and by then drinks finished again. Treatment for facial was 20 minutes late and there was no milk or clean cups for a drink in the quiet room. However, I must say that the lady who did the facial was wonderful at her job and I believe she was brought in from elsewhere. Checking out - reception - poor attitude.

We have had not such great experience with the reception staff and restaurant staff however this has been dealt with very professionally by the duty manager, Luke is a breath of fresh air,myself and my husband have been blown away by Luke he has been accommodating, professional & friendly, nothing is to much trouble, if you are happy Luke is happy which has made us feel very welcome and relaxed! Luke is a huge credit to this hotel I am gob smacked he was not of any supervisor level, Luke is the exact type of person I would want running my business friendly, professional, and so welcoming! I hope when we return to visit the hotel again your managers see what a absolute credit you are! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and welcomed throughout our stay.

What an amazing hotel we arrived the room was spotless with many things including gowns, slippers and your usual shampoo, conditioner, shower cap and coffee but you also get a little sewing kit,shoe polish, and hot chocolate to me it's all about the little things! I had emailed prier to arriving to say it was my partners birthday and they had a card and cake on the bed waiting for him so that was such a Lovely surprise! The breakfast in the morning the staff can't do enough for you!and the food was unreal full of quality tasty ingredients, also lots of fruit and even a cheese board. then we went down to the spa before checkout our experience of this hotel was amazing thank you to all the staff for making it so enjoyable we shall definitely be back! ??

Only stayed here for just the one night recently. This is a beautiful hotel with all the usual facilities including a spa with real a nice pool, sauna and steam room. My only comment in relation to the spa was rhe steam room was not very hot. A minor thing though. The building itself is superb and for those looking for a more traditional olde world property, this has to be counted as one of the best. If you like modern, this is not the hotel for you. When walking around, you will see some absolutely stunning wood pannelling. The best part of the public areas is like this. Its history is dating back to the 1500s and its said king Henry VIII was a frequent visitor. Thankfully, I've kept my head. During our stay we had quality meals, staff are very polite and attentive. A special thank you to Leanne, who I understand has only recently started. She didn't only serve us our meal but made a little time to enquire about had we enjoyed our day and to check that we were happy. A delightful member of the staff who is to be complemented. And that sort of attention does not happen often these days. We also made use of the leisure facilities again which we enjoyed. However, I decided not to attempt the golf course. All in all a very nice stay. Thank you

Stayed for one night and first stay at this hotel and spa. Overall very good and would recommend. Right next to a golf club and hotel has spa and swimming pool. Pool facilities looked good but did not use them-would do if I stayed again. Welcome by receptionist very good, pleasant and informative. My room 276 was up several flights of stairs so would be difficult for some guests but I was offered assistance with my luggage. Room clean and pleasant with several windows so quite cool considering the very hot weather, views over roof tops. Room comfortable but some attention to cleaning required, for example room information folder was full of crumbs and stained. Used the bar for a evening meal which was okay only spoilt by very dry chicken in burger and salad garnish and coleslaw of poor quality, service staff never checked back. Sat outside which was very pleasant but spoilt (no fault of the hotel) by a group speaking very loudly and swearing a lot. Breakfast was usual buffet style and good, staff were very pleasant and welcoming. And yes marmite was available, so overall recommended

lovely place beautiful surroundings reception and staff in bar and breakfast excellent. The room was great although a little noisy. You had own balcony. Only problem was all food on an evening is curry. I enjoyed my evening stay The curry was lovely made to your requirements and i felt it was all good value for money. The grounds were fabulous a real country style good for walking relaxing and getting out and about. I would highly recommend this but felt that curry being an only food option was poor for a hotel of this size

We stayed for one night at Moorhall hotel in a standard double room. First impression was not good l arrived at the hotel at 2:30 tired after walking back from Sutton town centre. This is supposed to be 1 mike away but it took me 50 minutes. I was told by a very abrupt receptionist that my room was not ready and l would have to wait 30 minutes. The rooms are not available until 3:00. While l waited other people were booked in no problem. After 20 mins l tried again, a helpful male receptionist checked and said the room is ready. The room was good but mould around the bath was not. Such a simple job to remove and replace, why do hotels leave black mould. We asked at reception for a fan for the room and it arrived within minutes, so quick. Overall a good stay, they just need to keep on top of house keeping and treat paying customers with politeness and courtesy.

We held our annual summer luncheon at Moor Hall Hotel and what started as a small event for 20 people, soon escalated to a larger event for 72. The support I had from Laura Goss and her colleagues in the planning of the event was second to none. I was kept informed throughout and assisted at every opportunity. On the day, the staff were fantastic and looked after all of our needs and the manager ensured that the service provided was first class. The food was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event. Thank you for the raffle prize, for an ‘Afternoon Tea for two', which was won by my daughter and has made me very popular. On the day we raised a magnificent £348, which has been split between two charities. Thank you for all the hard work and the excellent customer service provided for us.

Moor Hall Hotel is a beautiful location. Professional Staff. Productive meeting followed by Excellent BBQ on outside terrace. Nothing is too much trouble for Sam Goss and his team. Highly recommended.

I have used moor hall as a meeting place for quite some time. Tonight for the first time I stayed for a meal and it wasn't just the food that wowed. The service was impeccable and the calm relaxing atmosphere really set the mood for the evening. Wether it's a relaxing nights sleep, a round of golf, a meal or spa moor Hall is a stunning hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Thank you for a lovely evening I hope to come again soon.

Had great business meeting in oak room. Anything less from Sam and his team is in heard of as we have meeting here every week! This was our summer BBQ event so we had evening BBQ function after in the newly refurbished Ladywood suite for 50 guests. The Suite is done to very high standard, staff made us very welcome upon arrival. Food was fantastic and more fine dining than Bbq! Also catered for our fussy eaters (veggie, vegan etc). I couldn't recommend this Hotel enough!

We went to Moor Hall recently as I was bought a Gentlemans Afternoon tea voucher. We booked but arrived a little early. No problem as our table was already set on the terrace overlooking the hotel gardens. Our drinks arrived promptly. I ordered my food as per the menu. My wife requested some slight alterations to the sandwiches which the hotel were happy to do as all the food is freshly prepared. They were also happy to cater for any dietary requirements. All the food tasted lovely and was well presented. We couldn't fault anything. A big thank you to all the staff who were very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely return as it was such a pleasurable experience.

Attended the beautiful grounds of Moor Hall for Afternoon tea on Wednesday afternoon and it was beautiful. The atmosphere on the balcony was wonderful and very relaxed. The food was amazing especially the scones and the selections of Gins were second to none. We was looked after by Jas who straight away was very friendly, attentive and went out her away to make our afternoon very enjoyable, she was a super star! Thank you for also singing Happy birthday to me, you made my day. Will defenitly be returning.

My friend and I booked a night's stay at Moor Hall through Secret Escapes. The experience included Afternoon tea, 1 night in a superior room and breakfast. I had to call the hotel a few days prior to our stay, to clarify some of the details. I got through very quickly, and to a friendly member of staff who answered all of my questions which was a great start. We arrived and were able to check in right away. The extremely nice gentleman at reception helped us to change our afternoon tea reservation which was different to the time I had been told previously. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The room was very nice, and suited our needs for one night. It was clean and cool, which was a pleasant surprise given the temperature outside. After being in the room for a brief time, we recieved a gift basket with some soft drinks and apples. This was a lovely touch. Especially on such a hot day. And very much appreciated. After settling in we proceeded to the bar to locate the Afternoon tea. A very friendly member of staff found us looking a bit lost and helped to seat us outside. We were taken through the menu and given a glass of prosecco each. The Afternoon Tea arrived, which was lovely. Pleanty of choice and a little box to take all the leftovers away with us. The service was excellent, we were offered refills of tea on numerous occasions and it always came hot with pleanty of milk. We tried the spa next. We were greeted by another friendly member of staff who checked us in. It was a very relaxing experience sat on the comfortable loungers next to the pool. We enjoyed using the Jacuzzi, the steam room and sauna. In all we had a great night's stay made all the better by welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Next time we might have dinner instead of Afternoon Tea! Thank you to everyone who made our stay at Moor Hall into a lovely and memorable experience.

I recently hosted my friends baby shower here at moor hall. Everything was perfect and the lady who looked after us (unfortunately I can't remener her name) couldn't of done anymore for us, she was amazing. The afternoon tea was delicious! Thankyou!

Stayed overnight with a Groupon voucher - included evening meal as well as use of facilities. Could not fault - our room was spotless, good selection of refreshments on tray, toiletries etc. Room was very hot due to current heatwave but on asking at Reception for a fan, one was brought to our room immediately. Meals at the Country Kitchen Restaurant were lovely and waiting on staff, very friendly and polite. The whole stay was very enjoyable from start to finish - would highly recommend and look forward to returning. Well done to all the staff for making our break memorable.

Booked the Romantic package. Included use of Spa and pool which was relaxing on a hot afternoon. Our room over looked the gardens and had ample space. Clean and tidy. Good included a Carvery which was good and a buffet breakfast. Drinks were priced reasonably. Staff left a card and cakes upon arrival with the complimentary wine included in the package. Worth remembering that a few hundred yards either way are relatively busy roads, but you can't hear the traffic. So peaceful. Would recommend.

My first visit to Moor Hall for afternoon tea and I wasn't disappointed. The cakes and sandwiches freshly made and delicious. The staff were super especially Angie who looked after my mother-in-law and myself, nothing was too much trouble, thank you Angie for making our visit memorable, throughly enjoyed it, we will be back.

I have been staying at this hotel on a regular basis as a business user, so have got to really know the pros and cons of this place. You might ask yourself, why stay here if I have rated this place poor. Well, the truth is there are some positives and I will start with these. The hotel is set in lovely grounds next to a golf course (although the course is private). Secondly,I like keeping fit, so the fitness center and pool tick that box. The staff are a mixed bunch, some very helpful, but there quite a few that just cant be bothered and after a time that really grates. I've been up in the West Midlands working on a project and staying away from home for up to 3-4 nights a week, so needed somewhere relatively close to my work. This hotel on the face of it looked suitable, but it's been the build up of issue after issue that has finally made me say enough is enough. Where to start - I stayed in the Superior Room package and if you are lucky to get a room facing the golf course, great, nice views, but be warned, the rooms I stayed in on this side do not have aircon, so if the temp is as hot as recently, you are likely to get terrible nights sleep! One Thursday, there was a wedding that spilled out onto the grounds directly in front of my room and went on until 12pm. This was majorly frustrating due to noise and in the end I had to move rooms because I just couldn't sleep! Not great if you are a business user and have to get up for work early! The Superior rooms on the other side, face the back of the hotel, which includes the car park and the delivery vehicle entrance. So, not a pleasant view when you look out of the window. You also get woken up very early by delivery vehicles especially the bin trucks!! I was unfortunate to be allocated rooms on this side on two occasions. The first room (92), had a very bad odor coming from the arm chair, so avoid this room like the plague. The second time I stayed on this side was this week (2nd July) for 3 nights. The room I was allocated was filthy - the wash basin had hair in it and the shower had a clump of blond hair in the plug sump! I naturally asked for this to be sorted out and was moved to room 189, which is on the floor above. After repeated tries, I couldn't get the aircon to work, so asked for this to be sorted out. A porter tried, but it stopped working, so one of the duty managers fiddle about and got it working, but after a while it stopped again, so to be honest I just couldn't be bothered to follow it again and just had to roast in the room with a very noisy fan!! So avoid this room too!! The food in this hotel is mediocre and I'm not exaggerating. This is fine if you just want something simple, but if you are really looking for a high end Spa experience, this is not the place. I've tried New Hall, which is just up the road, which is more expensive, but believe me you pay for what you get (unfortunately this place was out of my budget most weeks). The thing that really made me think I've had enough of this place was the food I was served yesterday evening (04.07). I ordered a club salad (£14). The dish came out and consisted of bed of lettuce leaves 1 tomato, cut into quarters, a piece of chicken and some kind of white sauce. The dish was missing the advertised bacon and avocado! When I mentioned this to a member of staff, she was very embarrassed and disappeared without really saying what she was going to do about it. 10 mins later she appeared with some bacon, but by this time I had gone past it and just asked for the food to be taken away. What really got me, was the fact the hotel was prepared to rip me off and provide me with such an insulting attempt at a so call salad (£14!!). My business pays for my meals, but to be honest it was the sheer cheek of it! One other thing, when you have the Superior package, you should get your room replenished with refreshments (fruit, canned drinks etc.). It was almost a daily occurrence, I was chasing for the items to be sent to my room. It just adds to my suspicion the hotel is just trying to save money where ever it can. Either that or the service staff just don't know what they are doing. My final point is this - I've stayed in hotels, where if something isn't right the team put it right and offer something in the way of a gesture of good will. Not once, in regard to any of these instances was this offered, which says to me very poor customer service!!! And don't get me wrong, I'm not after freebies as my company picks up the tab for my stay and food etc.. it's just the done thing in quality hotels and the Moor Hall just doesn't tick that box! All of the above, has now force me to move to a different hotel for the rest of my stay up here and I really feel that my custom and regular stays at this place has counted for nothing! This place has the potential to be a great hotel, but it's with regret that I would not recommend this place for business or leisure use - please shop around!!

My sister organised a baby shower afternoon tea here for my niece, a little surprise! The hotel is really welcoming and we had a private room for our event. They were happy for us to decorate with banners & balloons and made no fuss about it. The afternoon tea was delicious, so was the veggie option however the vegan option did look a little bland to say the least. They looked after us for the whole afternoon and we finished the get together with drink on the terrace - beautiful grounds. Really attentive staff, a super location and an thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Would highly recommend.

Really great hotel for customer service, food is good, rooms are lovely with all you require from a hotel bedroom. Breakfast was really efficient for service, the food was good quality and the honey was excellent.

The staff are extremely polite, happy & more than willing to help. The atmosphere is very welcoming & it was a lovely afternoon tea with a good gluten free choice which was very tasty. A truly relaxing hotel & i would highly recommend.

Just had our wedding weekend at Moor Hall and I really can't thank the staff enough for their support and service along the way. It's hard to be brief but I'll try. We booked the venue due to its location for all and the beautiful grounds. The charter suite was stunningly laid out for both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast and we couldn't have been more delighted. Yes, the family and guests made the day, but the venue and the service was the icing on the cake. Everything we asked for was done and they made sure we were happy with the details at every stage. The meal was delicious and nicely presented and everything went so well. We really didn't want to end the day. Little hiccups....I managed to lose the pass key to the bridal suite with us both stood outside (mia culpa) and there was no champagne in the suite on arrival. That said, when I mentioned it to Jamie the next morning he couldn't have been more apologetic and promptly fetched a bottle to take home. There was an issue with the hot water on the wedding morning which left a section of the hotel with cold showers, and it is only these little issues that were possibly outside their control and could happen to any venue. Overall the hotel staff and the events staff were brilliant. Big thanks to Georgia who pulled all the final plans together, to Jamie who ran the day and I called Hugh all weekend and Adam on reception who dealt with my booking queries. These are simply the names I remember from an outstanding team. Big thank you's to all.

We live in Sutton Coldfield so went for a meal only. Travelling extensively we had not visited Moor Hall for sometime but wanted somewhere local for my wife's birthday. Dining in the Oak room, the menu had apparently just changed and whilst there was a limited number of dishes there was sufficient variety for us. Whilst it was not a busy night in the main restaurant, there were 4 or 5 small groups but a large dining party in the room next door the service was efficient but not rushed and we felt without fault. The staff were courteous, unobtrusively friendly and helpful. The food was really excellent and for this quality presented good value. Overall a nice dining experience. Well done Moor Hall!

I recently attended a function where a buffet was provided. It was extremely poor. There was very little filling in the sandwiches. The bread used was of a cheap quality. There were only 3 fillings available in the sandwiches, small pork pies and quiches and to finish off cakes that had been bought in from some low quality outlet. To cap it all the glass given to me at the bar was filthy, when I asked for a replacement it was as bad. I would advise you to go elsewhere

On Saturday 16 June we celebrated my mothers 65th Birthday at Moor Hall in the Bracebridge suite. A fantastic room for a private dinner party, the service led by Andrew (Duty Manager) was first class and whilst we were aware the hotel was full with wedding parties and other functions the food was exceptional everything cooked and presented as you would expect for such a special celebration. Louise in events had ensured that our every wish had been catered for down to name place cards, flowers on the table etc...The team that looked after us were attentive and not intrusive. I highly recommend Moor Hall for your next function. My wife and I also stayed the night and had the pleasure of one of the newly refurbished rooms which was outstanding - including a full spa bath in the bedroom! Breakfast the next morning was extensive and very very tasty! Moor Hall is certainly a hidden gem in the West Midlands! The leadership of Sam Goss (General Manager) is raising the bar for hospitality in the region! Well done Sam and all at Moor Hall.

The drive to the hotel is past some of Sutton Coldfield's grandest houses and Moor Hall is also as grand although does have a modern bit stuck which looks a bit cheap. The hotel is fine, my room was ok, nothing special like the rest of the hotel, just good enough. The Bar has a poor choice of beer/lager on draft for this standard of place, the food was again just ok. I played golf £30 county card or £55 full green fees and its again a bit bland as golf course, also a bit pompous as no jeans of any sort allowed in the bar! Overall its ok, it could be WOW but it isn't.

Spent a couple of nights here with my sister for a birthday treat and had such a lovely time. Beautiful hotel with stunning grounds. We loved the pool and spa area, very clean and relaxing. The carvery was delicious, so good we had it both nights with a great starter buffet. We had a fabulpus superior room with a hige square jacuzzi bath and a lovely view of the gardens. Would definitely return!

My sweet heart and I traveled around the UK for two and half weeks and this was one of our places to stay. The room was good size with room to move around and well appointed. The bars are large and if you have an event I could see this being a great place to hold it. The breakfast was very good and well staffed. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back. Visited the hotel with a friend to meet half way with another two friends as this was a half way point and we were recommended to come here. First impressions were great and we sat outside and enjoyed a drink and a bar meal on the patio in the sunshine. Had a great first nights sleep and got up and enjoyed our breakfast, the staff were very helpful and the food was good with a reasonable selection of breakfast choices to suit most people. We then had a relaxed day visiting nearby Lichfield which Is definitely worth a visit. For our last night we decided to eat in the country kitchen and had booked a table for 8 - which gave us time to enjoy our day and get ready for dinner without rushing. Sadly it was this meal that really let down our stay at Moor Hall. We were shown to a table without enough chairs and had to fetch 2 more ourselves. Then were told to help ourselves from a cold buffet starter. The food was sat under lights and as we were obviously one of the last tables to be seated that night there was only a very sad selection of food left, most of which looked like it had been sat there all night. It wasn't as much a starter but a side salad. The main event however was a choice of beef and turkey (although it was local pork written on the board). The meat was delicious and plentiful- no complaints there- and served by a really delightful young man, but the vegetables were mush, over cooked and not seasoned. I can't believe that any chef would be proud to serve these. How hard can it be to cook a dish of fresh local produce to put on the tables once the meat is carved. Again the veg was sat steaming under lights and was not replenished or checked at any time so continued to cook under the lights. As for pudding we were told that all the selections had gone and there was nothing left. At this point I complained and said that even as a later booking we should be given the choice of a dessert as this was what we had expected. Someone then went off and returned with a lemon tart - was ok but would have been good to have a choice. The young waiters and waitresses were too busy sorting tables for breakfast rather than clearing ours away - although they didn't appear to be getting much guidance. So this meal really was very disappointing - or at least how it was cooked and served to us. I wouldn't eat in the Country Kitchen again and this is my reason for not giving a higher rating.

Myself and my husband stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary as was recommended by a few people we know. The place it's self is really beautiful and surrounded by the lovely grounds. Good points 1. On our arrival we were greeted with a anniversary card and cake which was lovely. 2. Room was spacious and clean with everything you needed , bed extremely comfortable. 3. Reception and breakfast staff very friendly and welcoming. 4. Nice sized pool just right for a gentle swim. 5. Breakfast nice and a lot of choice. Bad points 1. The fridge in the room is very loud , doesn't bother my husband as he would sleep trough anything but I'm a light sleeper and took me a while to drop off to the noise of the fridge. 2. Drinks (cocktails) extremely over priced for what you get , the cosmopolitans especially disappointing when they and £7.50 each yoh exspect a bigger glass and more effort with the presentation. 3. No room in the pool area for us to sit which resulted in us spending less time by the pool area. 4. Just a note that my husband would of liked to play a game of golf and maybe a reduced rate if you are using the hotel would be an advantage ? 5. Toilets down stairs on the evening were very untidy (feces in the toilet) and empty toilet roll tubes everywhere. We would defiantly return to Moor Hall and would also think of booking for the tribute nights. All in all we had a pleasant anniversary there .... we ant comment on the food as we ate at a restaurant in mere green.

Stayed with the family over bank holiday weekend, staff were brilliant food was excellent. £17.50 for three course, fantastic value! Breakfast brilliant plenty of choice. Swimming pool was lovely. My only comment would be that the meat carved for the roast was thick and plenty of it, I have a good appetite, although I left some as the portion was huge, great value although I feel guests would be happy with half as much, which would increase the margins on food sales. There may also be an opportunity to have cold meats available in a coffee shop or similar to use some of the joints from the night before making even more from each striploin? Not a complaint just an observation. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

My wife & I stayed the night here last weekend thanks to a wedding gift through buyagift.com. The hotel and grounds are lovely, we enjoyed drinks on the patio overlooking the golf course and walked round the grounds which are great. The drinks are pricey, wife's large wine was £10 and I asked for a g&t and when offered a single or double I asked how much a double would cost and was told £7.20, be aware that's just the gin, tonic extra £2.70.... We dined in the carvery restaurant which was disappointing to be honest, the 'horderves' starter was a cold salad option which we didn't enjoy, the main carvery was OK but nothing special, desert was lovely. If we visited again we would 100% dine in the other restaurant at extra cost. Another thing to mention, despite signs asking guests to respect other guests by keeping the noise down I was still woken at 7:30 by a noisy neighbour who turned out to be 4 rooms away! Not ideal when having a 1 night break from a baby... Breakfast was great, serve yourself full English or continental and when we asked if we could eat outside that wasn't a problem and we enjoyed the peace and quiet away from the busy restaurants. Worth mentioning the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I used a spa getaway voucher and spent the night here. The surroundings are beautiful and the grounds are well kept. The hotel was very dated and could use some work, especially in our room. The pool area was nice however we tried to book a pregnancy massage and relaxation massage just over a week before our visit and there was only a half an hour slot available, book way in advance if you plan on having massages as this was disappointing. As part of our package we had a meal booked in the carvery area, they only had 8:30pm left for dinner which was quite late especially being pregnant. The staff were very forgetful, we waited 20 minutes for our starter and had to remind the waiter as he had forgot and also our drinks had been forgotten which were also part of our package and we had to remind the staff about that. The chef was lovely and very friendly, the carvery was nice. We had barely any choice for dessert which was really shocking as there were lots of people still waiting for their desserts too and you had run out of almost everything. The service was shocking!! Overall we had a nice time but I wouldn't come back here again.

We booked the Wyndley Suite for Sunday lunch to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The room was beautifully set out ready for us to add a few personal touches. We had pre-ordered to enable the chef to have all our meals ready at the same time. The food was excellent, well presented and very tasty. Our glasses were topped up at regular intervals. All in all we were very well looked after. One of our party was celebrating her birthday and when the staff found out they brought her a little cake with a candle in it and Happy Birthday piped around the plate in chocolate. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would certainly recommend this as a venue for a special celebration. For me it was a day I shall remember for a long time.

Just returned from a two night stay at Moor Hall. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and our room had a great view across the gardens and over to the golf club. All of the staff from check-in to check-out were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Spa facilities are excellent, can't understand anyone moaning on TA about them!?! My wife and I both had some massage treatments- again, excellent and good value for money. We had dinner in the Oak restaurant and the food was delicious and again, I thought good value for money. We were in one of the older rooms which is in need of an upgrade. Furniture and decor very dated, this is the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars for the review. I understand the hotel is currently refurbishing the rooms so I'll ask for one of them when we return. Thank you to all of the staff for a lovely stay. It's wonderful that such a historic building is looked after and cared for so professionally. I look forward to returning in the future.

We stayed at the Moor Hall Hotel after receiving a Groupon deal as a birthday present. Our stay was for one night in a Superior room and included access to spa & gym facilities, breakfast and a hot dinner. We arrived at the check-in time of 3pm and were promptly dealt with at reception which looks very grand and well presented, although the man at reception made a point of saying we were Groupon which I thought was a bit odd. I don't have a problem with any of the other guests who were present knowing, but does it need to be loudly pointed out? Does it matter if we paid full whack or got a deal, surely we should be treated the same either way. It's like when you go to have an NHS procedure at a private hospital, they always make sure to mention that you're not a private patient. Anyway, we were given a room key, told the breakfast times, and booked to arrive at The Country Kitchen restaurant for dinner at 7pm. The first thing we noticed en route to our room was how HOT it was in the corridors- not warm, I'm talking sauna hot... It was very a very humid 24° outside so we assumed at first that the air conditioning must be broken. That was until we felt the radiators. They were ALL on FULL! Another guest who was walking past remarked on how sweltering it was and was as incredulous as us that the heating was on in this weather. Our room was Warwick 154 and I think it must be one of the newly refurbished rooms as it was lovely. It had a silver/grey colour scheme with rustic furniture, feeling both contemporary and cosy. The bathroom was quite large and included a handy 2-pin shaving plug and heated towel rail (this was on constantly even though the knob at the bottom was turned to cold). It was all very clean but again really hot, so thank goodness we had an air con unit built into the wall! We put this on full blast at the coldest setting possible and it got the room *just* cool enough to be comfortable. There were lots of little extras which set it apart from budget hotels: a bowl of individually wrapped chocolate mints, packs of biscuits, Elderflower drink, fresh apples, all the tea making facilities including Cadbury's hot chocolate. The only criticism is that there is only 3 teabags included, but I'm sure we could've got more if we had asked. There was also a selection of shampoo/conditioner minis in the bathroom and a disposable shower cap. There was even a telephone next to the toilet which made me chuckle! We decided to go for a walk around the grounds before checking out the spa. Moor Hall is set on a golf course, with various signs warning you to watch out for flying balls! The surroundings were very pretty and relaxing to sit in, unfortunately the view from our room was rubbish (fence panels directly in front of the windows), so we didn't get to enjoy the stunning surroundings from our room. The price of a cool pint from the bar was an eye-popping fiver! I thought we were in the West Midlands not central London! We went up to our room to change into our swim things and went back down in the robe & slippers which are provided in your wardrobe. We walked through the conservatory which was again boiling hot with all the radiators on (I felt sorry for the uniformed staff having to race round in that heat all day), and made our way to the Fitness & Leisure area. Our keycard was taken as we signed in and we were offered the use of a locker which took old pound coins or trolley keys. We were also given towels and directed to the spa area. Treatments weren't included in our package so I can't comment on those, but the spa facilities we did use were very nice. There are two showers which you are encouraged to use between each facility, a medium-sized pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room & a sauna, all in the same area. There were plenty of seats & loungers for you to leave your things and relax when not using the facilities. The pool was lovely and cool after all that heat, but it was nice to sit in the jacuzzi with the powerful jets on your back. It did get a bit cramped when more than one couple got in, which was slightly uncomfortable but you only get 14 minutes of jets before it needs a 6 minute rest so fortunately there was plenty of opportunities to get in when it wasn't so full. The sauna was of course sweltering, the only thing in the hotel that was meant to be! The only thing that slightly ruined it was kids diving/jumping in the pool. To be honest, I don't think posh hotels are places for kids- and I have small children so I'm not biased. You're supposed to be relaxing after all... We arrived at The Country Kitchen restaurant at 7pm and were shown to a table immediately. As I understand it this is one of two restaurants at Moor Hall, The Oak Room being their award-winning alternative at £30 per head. The Country Kitchen is the budget version and includes a self-serve starter, carvery and pudding station. We were given the option of soup or salad for starters and chose the tomato soup and bread roll which was nice enough. The carvery wasn't great in my opinion; the two meat choices, pork & beef, were fatty and dry in that order. The vegetables looked as though they had been under the heat lamps for an age but didn't actually taste too bad. We had a look at the dessert station but nothing was labelled and there was barely any choice, so we went for the hot choice of sticky toffee pudding & custard. This was VERY sweet & sickly. Overall I'd rate the meal a 5/10. After a decent night's sleep (air con fan noise notwithstanding), we had our breakfast delivered to the room. This was perfectly adequate but we have tasted better in Travelodges to be totally honest. In conclusion I would stay again but I'd definitely try the other restaurant for our meal next time. If you haven't been before, it's a nice historical building and has good facilities, but if you just want to get your head down with some decent grub a Premier Inn is just as good.

We keep coming back when in the area as the hotel and staff are exceptional. We booked a bedroom with a Jacuzzi that is excellent value and a real treat! Room 133 had a big bedroom, separate lounge area and huge Jacuzzi bathroom. The gym and pool is as good as ever. Breakfast excellent. We prefer the carvery restaurant but both are very good. We'll be back again!

The hotel is nice, good food and good service. The negative was the thin walls between rooms. You could easily hear your next door neighbor, even when talking in a normal voice. This does not make for a good night of rest, if your neighbor is loud, or comes in late.

Had a very enjoyable stay here. The room was well appointed and spacious. Bed was comfy. Setting was beautiful. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bar prices reasonable and an excellent selection of drinks. The food, oh the food. The fillet of sea bass was delightful - plenty of mussels and clams. And the cheeseboard - such a delicious selection - would love to know what they were. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and not dried out, as it can be under the hot plate. Limited pastries, but an excellent selection of full english food - including fried bread. Not a bad word to say about this venue. Look forward to returning.

Good hotel situated locally to Sutton Coldfield town centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good and would recommend. I made a complaint about the leisure club, because the hot tub had lots of foam in it. The management assured me that foam remover is used. I stayed in one of the our dated rooms - which was very old fashioned. I'd hope that the hotel are working on a refurbishment plan to upgrade these rooms soon.

Recently went to moor hall for Sunday lunch to celebrate a big birthday. Everything we asked for was done with efficiency even down to special requests for guests who wanted something a little bit differently done for their dinner. The meal was very nice and the service was great and our birthday cake brought out and lights dimmed to reflect the candle so thank you to the gentleman who looked after us on that day and to the lady who organised our private room and bar area well done moor hall and wyndley room staff thank you ,

The Oak Room restaurant at Moor Hall has raised its game since the last time I visited. The kitchen is now sending out plates of food that not only look contemporary, they taste great. A simple seasonal starter of pea and mint soup was vivid green and full of flavour. A main of skate done in a tomato sauce with couscous was executed beautifully. The skate fillet had been removed from its wing, then rolled into a cylinder shape and pan-fried. My partner's lamb was beautifully cooked. Seabass came with mussels and clams. The soy glazed duck with pickled shitake was delicious. On top of this, the service was excellent. The Maitre D' was a credit to the restaurant. We had a lovely evening. Thank you.

Six of us had an excellent Sunday Lunch yesterday. The food was excellent with carefully prepared starters and sweets and substantial main course. There was plenty of choice throughout the menu. The service was top of the range (we have been many times previously and the service is always excellent) and The Oak Room is the ideal venue. We have booked again for later in the year. Can't say fairer than that!

First the pluses. From the outside a nice hotel steeped in history. Decor in keeping with the building. A nice modern bathroom. Bed not too bad comfort wise. The bad. Some Twit with an A set the monolithic clock radio to an alarm at 03:20. Probably a previous guest that woke me from a deep sleep. Once ripped from the wall as I could find no way of killing the alarm I then tried to get back off to sleep. At this point I could hear a low pitch rumble noise so loud that no further slip was possible. I traced it to coming from some form of extractor fan either in the room below or adjacent. Why can room service not clear alarms on clocks or better still get rid of the bloody things and do something about room acoustics to prevent guests being kept awake. A shame but this has put me off this stunning hotel!

Enjoyed another lovely spa day at Moor Hall this week. Fabulous treatments and treatment rooms. Lovely lunch. Very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent service all round. I still love the wonderful relaxation room. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Myself and my partner stayed at Moor Hall Hotel and Spa on Sunday 6th-Bank Holiday Monday 7th. It was brought on Wowcher and included spa access, 3 course carvery dinner and full breakfast for 2. Paid £99 for two people and thought this was brilliant. On arrival at 2.30pm, we went to reception and was greeted by very warm and friendly reception staff, who said our room was ready and we didn't have to wait until 3pm. We asked the Receptionist if our room had a fridge and he looked at us and said 'yes there should be'. We were on the ground floor..up few steps (Room 2). We weren't very impressed with the room itself...no air con...the carpet looked worn out and in need of change. The design on the carpet was completly rubbed off and it looked dirty and old. The bed seemed comfy and had alot of cusions, so this extra comfort. My partner is on medication, so he needs his medication kept in the fridge, but when we looked around the room, there was no fridge. We rang down to Reception and they said you need to order one, but they would send someone with a fridge right away. A man came with a small compatable fridge and plugged it in and said it should be cold within an hour. Cut a long story short, we stayed there over night and the friedge never got cold at all!! The best feature of the room has got to be the bathroom. Very modern and sparkling clean, but you have to wonder how such a old-looking and tired room could have such a beautiful bathroom. I went to the gym for 30 minutes and absolutely loved it. The views whilst I was on the treadmill was overlooking the golf course and was just beautiful. The best workout I have ever had. It was nice and quiet the time I went there at 4.30pm. After the gym, I decided to use to sauna, steam and jacuzzi with my partner. The sauna and steam rooms are tiny and can only hold a maximum of 3 people. But nonetheless, it did the job, so no problem. The jacuzzi was nice, but they could of had a sign near it saying double step, as you step in. It was unfortunate, that my partner sustained an injury on his shin. The Jacuzzi water seemed quite strong of chorine and began to sting our eyes. He did, however enjoy swimming in the pool. We then went to get showered for dinner, which the reception staff booked us in for 7.45pm. When we sat down at our candle lit dinner table, the waiter came over and offered us a drink and explained we could either have salad or vegetable soup as a Starter. I chose to have a salad and my partner chose the vegetable soup. My, My, My...the vegetable soup was out of this world...pureed to perfection. I wish I had had that instead. We both chose to have the pork, which the chef slices for you. Succulant slices of pork and you can help yourself to the veg and the potatoes/gravy. The other carvery options was fish, mussels, turkey, beef, chicken. All meat was hot and covered over. That carvery meal was delicious. For dessert, they had a beautiful selection of fresh fruits or cakes. We both chose the fresh fruit, which were juicy and sweet. (watermelon and pineapple). When we left the restaurant, I went to the bar and asked for an aspertif or a digester and the young woman didn't have a clue what I was on about. Abit annoying, I had to explain to her what it was and she said they don't have anything like that. Perhaps it would be a good idea if they did, one of the other ladies serving behind the bar told me. That night, we went back to our room and watched tv in bed. Bearing in mind, that weekend was 27 degrees and night time was 25 degrees, we were dying for some air con and were both sweating. No air coming through both windows and the duvet on the bed, seemed like a winter duvet. Very thick and warm. It was really bad, as we had to keep the curtain open all night, with not only sunlight coming through in the morning, but also having to put up with the cars in the car park and people chatting whilst they were going into their cars. In the morning, I got woken up by our neighbours watching tv very loud and a couple talking and laughing really loud at 6am. Breakfast was ok. Salty bacon, nice fried eggs, fried bread soaked in oil, sausages, but it was ok, because the staff got me my soya latte as requested. My partner had a Swedish Full body massage with oils (£79) and he said it was beautiful. I think their spa prices could be a little cheaper or perhaps special offers for 2. The best thing about this hotel is the carvery dinner and the garden views. We took such beautiful pictures around the water fountain and the grounds, with the most perfect weather. The not so good parts were the room having no air con. The reception woman was very defensive on check out and told us ''we could of requested it at check in''. I told her all rooms should come with a fridge and air con and this is standand. I have to however, thank some of the staff there for their kindness and making sure things were ok for us, whilst we stayed there. My partner forgot his t-shirt and I rang them up the next day and they said they would post it out. Happy to say...we did recieve it. Nice hotel and spa re-treat by us Londoners.

Generally could not fault this place. Me and my other half stayed here over the bank holiday weekend to celebrate our anniversary, our room had a anniversary card and cake in waiting for us. ALL staff are so friendly, the drinks are amazing the rooms are perfect and me and my partner could not stop saying wow! Would highly recommend this.

If you are coming for a business trip look up the classes before you travel. The instructors are good and early morning classes mean you can work off the calories from the wonderful dinner from the night before!

Beautiful hotel lovely grounds had a fab 3 course meal too would go again inside is beautiful and if u sit outside its wonderful they have a lovely garden to walk around too hotel rooms lovely staff very friendly spa was lush injoyed the pool

We visited for afternoon tea. Very nice scones and although website says pot of tea you can get refills. We also had child's afternoon tea. Don't think that is worth the price. Enjoyed our afternoon tea but I felt there wasn't a very good atmosphere. Room is bright but just ,issued that sense of being out for a special treat.

We had an overnight stay with evening meal, spa treatment and breakfast included for a wedding present. We checked in at around 3:45 by a lovely lady who told us our spa treatments had been booked for 4pm and our meal for 7pm which we didn't realise otherwise we would have gotten there earlier. We wanted to eat first as we hadn't had any lunch. We took a trip to the spa to try and change our time and spoke to a young girl who was really helpful, they told us it wouldn't be a problem to change our time to 5:30 so we could have some food first. We also arranged our evening meal to be changed to 8:30 without fuss. Lunch was delicious. We both had chicken burgers with wine and a Guinness. It was very quiet but staff were lovely and friendly. We then went for our spa treatment. Amazing massage and staff were again friendly and professional. Pool, sauna and steam room were nice with loungers to chill on too. Dinner was very tasty although I wasn't overly hungry as portions at lunch time were very generous so didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. We had a lovely overnight stay and will definitely return even if it's just for food as we live quite local. Only downside is that rooms are quite dated and definitely need updating. However this isn't a problem for us as they were still clean and the food and staff definitely make it a great place :-)

Stayed here last week ( 25th April ) with a friend . Had a beautiful room ( 70 ) which was spacious , with beautiful views across the Golf course . Reception could have been a little more friendly as the lady spoke to us in a rather curt way ! Although the other staff were helpful , friendly and nice . We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the Bar area and then checked in at 3pm . We went for a swim & enjoyed the pool area as it was quiet , clean and had a very nice warm Jacuzzi in it . The grounds are beautiful and we sat for a while in a very pleasant outdoor area , I imagine used for weddings , with a fountain . Dinner was included , a carvery which was 3 courses all self serve from various serving areas . The beds were great , 2 Doubles and extremely comfortable . Breakfast was again Buffet style , with plenty of choice , which included fruit , cereals , toast , juices , coffee/ Tea and full English . For an additional cost you could have Smoked Salmon , Champagne etc . It was quite busy the day we arrived as there was a few Business conferences taking place , but lovely and quiet the 2nd day as we left . Would definitely recommend , in fact we have booked the same room and tickets for an up and coming " Adele " tribute night , extremely good value - Bed & Breakfast , evening meal and overnight accommodation for 2 at just £145 !

This hotel was pleasantly situated but in need of refurbishment and a thorough clean! It was very noisy at night due to guests retiring late and others rising early; in addition there was disturbance from early deliveries and golf course maintenance. The food when, eventually served at dinner, was over cooked and uninspiring. The wine list contains a poor selection but is never the less expensive.

The Oak Room service was very good and staff friendly and professional. Food excellent in quality and price. Lovely surroundings and very enjoyable. This was a special family meal but will definitely visit again.

My partner and I got a 2 night wowcher deal for this hotel which Inc 2 nights accommodation, breakfast and a 3 course carvery meal. We paid £99 for each night! Good points..... Building looks nice on approach. Lovely fire in immediate reception area. Staff helpful. Food was better than expected! Parking was Free and plenty. Not so good..... The pool was small for the size of hotel. When we decided to use it on the Thursday evening approx 4 pm it was full of children with their parents. We were unable to swim for all the splashing. It was not a relaxing retreat but a loud and inconcederate experience. Not a spa feel but a holiday camp feel. Our room was adequate for price. However we was on ground floor to the left of the reception. Restoration or a room was taking place across from our room. No peace or quiet. Builders started at 9am banging. Plus on the Thursday morning about 10 am one of the builders knocked on our door to ask would it be OK if they turn electric off for 20 mins. We agreed, but this was not appropriate. Work taking place should be outlined on booking or guests to be allocated to another part of the hotel! I would give this hotel a Good rating but that option is not available

The hotel promised attention and good food. It fell sadly on both counts. The situation was delightful and we eagerly queued for a chance to enjoy the hotel. At the reception we were treated as an inconvenient invasion. Despite a prepaid booking complete with names we each had to submit to an interrogation for creditworthiness and were castigated for not knowing the registration number of our coach. Our allocated room was through innumerable steps and four fire-doors and was stiflingly hot with no air-conditioning. The bathroom was new and very pleasant, the room itself was tired and not too clean. Insufficient hangars in the cupboard, ill-matched bedframe and mattress created gaps toward the headboard. Regarding food, the breakfasts were the best meal of the day. The dinners were of very poor quality and bore little resemblance to the menu description. Served on cold plates, overcooked vegetables, and a very extended wait in the service. We rose after three hours still hungry.

We stayed for 2 nights the outside of the hotel is beautiful and the downstairs rooms are nice The check in was efficient but it went downhill when I saw the room we paid 135 per night inc bf and the room was so dated it was clean but it needs all new textiles bedding etc the duvet was certainly not feather and the pillows were awful (however on the last day I realised I could have asked for a feather pillow ) If you did not want your room cleaned you could have a drink voucher one per room really !! Breakfast on the first morning was awful bacon left soaked in fat when new was brought they tipped it on top ! Bread choice was very limited Sausages not cooked enough etc but second day was better. Took forever to get tea The party night was lovely beautiful food excellent service by a lovely guy ( began with m! The bar service however at the beginning was painfully slow and they spent more time looking at the till than serving ,also drinks were very expensive I felt but after questioning we think they added two tabs together ! Staff in general were lovely a great time was had by all but I would not go back it is a great hotel for business people I think or probably weddings

Quiet location, staff very helpful and friendly; good breakfast. Offers good value, accommodation is OK but as other reviewers have noted is perhaps a little tired in places. recommend rooms with view over the gardens as I suspect that some will have a car park outlook.

We have over a period of time used Moor Hall for either Lunch/Dinner and afternoon tea and have come away saying that was enjoyable and good value, but not today,we booked online for Dinner at 5.30pm in Carvery Restaurant, on arrival in reception the noise could only be described as a children's tea party coming out of the Carvery,we later found out from one of the staff they had 19 children eating. The whole Carvery was in disarray and the Manager seen clueless to bring matters to order. While we waited for our table to sorted, another couple who had booked in advance walk out we understand being their wedding anniversary. Eventually we had a table allocated the Carvery was ok be the choice of sweets from the self service was down to a chocolate cheesecake and a few Bakewell tarts that looked more like pork pies, two squashed profriteroles. I have to say in all a very disappointing experience. Moor Hall you need to improve or your loyal customers will be going elsewhere.

Had a 3 night stay here this week. In places this is a pretty spectacular country hotel in beautiful grounds with lots of well styled areas to relax in. In other places my room and some of the corridors and corners are looking a little tired. Staff through the hotel are all very good, friendly and efficient and I was very pleased at the attention and prompt response I made to a minor complaint that I raised. I ate in the Country Kitchen twice and took advantage of a bargain £17 for 3 courses of pretty good carvery fayre. I did think the room furnishings were old and drab but everything was spotlessly clean. Pretty good value in an area that is commanding pretty high prices right now.

We held a wedding reception at Moor Hall Hotel for our son & daughter-in-law in April this year. The Charter Suite looked absolutely amazing when we walked in. The room was set up really well and the twinkling lights provided a perfect backdrop for the reception and for the photographs. Sam, Georgia, Jamie & all the rest of the staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive all day. The food was excellent and so many of the guests commented on what a perfect wedding it turned out to be. It all went brilliantly and everyone had a good time.

Really enjoyed the afternoon tea with friends. The room that was booked was lovely and well laid out. The sandwiches and cakes were nice and well made. Do think there should be a choice of plain sandwiches as well. The only let down for me was that that coffee and tea were not served in keep hot pots, so went warm by the time we wanted a second cup. The surroundings are lovely.

Me and my husband where absolutely delighted with out 2 night stay here; so pleased we found this hidden gem. We upgraded our room before hand to a Jacuzzi suite, I must say it was the best room I have ever stayed in. So modern and clean. The Jacuzzi bath was huge! Even had a remote control so you could change the colours around it. So cool! The staff where so polite and friendly and really made us feel welcome. We even woke up on Easter Sunday to an Easter egg outside the door (the little things go a huge way, thank you!!) The building itself has a lot of character and a nice, warm ambience. We used the gym while we where there which was great, had everything you needed and enough space to do a proper work out. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely. We had room service one night which tasted great however, could possibly do with a bit more of a variety on there? We had breakfast in the Oak room both mornings and it was delightful, very friendly staff and lots of choice! We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter Weekend here and we will defiantly be back if we are to ever be out that way again! Thank you team at Moorhall you are doing a fantastic job!

A bit of context: I grew up about half mile from this hotel and it was where we went for special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day etc. It was where my school friends celebrated 18 and 21 birthdays and where we cont yes to go after me and my siblings had left Sutton. It is like an indulgent aunt. So, it saddens me to pick out the warts on the old auntie's hands. But, unlike an ageing relative, hotels can bring themselves back to life. I have given three stars on this review - 2 for the hotel and 4 for the staff who are still lovely. Our stay on Sunday 8/4 was in anticipation of our Mum's funeral the following day so there were several of us (14 I think) Reservation and check in were fine, efficient, friendly and we got to our rooms with no problem. My room was comfortable, the bed was firm, pillows were fine, everything was clean and the water was hot. The iron was pathetic but hotel irons often are and it wasn't critical. We congregated in the bar and have a convivial drink before dinner. And this is when things went downhill. As it was Sunday, the Oak Room was closed and we ate in the Country Kitchen. A carvery was on offer. I would not choose a carvery in most places but Moor Hall is a Traditional hotel with a reputation for good traditional meals so why not? Well, if traditional means dated and not very inspiring, MH has it to a tee. Starters were soul (decent according to my nephew) or a very unimaginative hors d'oevres selection. But, even wilted lettuce has vitamins and the cucumber was sprightly so the main. Course would make up for that. However, the main course meats were dry beyond my wildest imagination (and I have a great imagination) and the veggies were, with the exception of the roasties, watery and bland, the apple sauce appeared to contain no apple and the meal was barely edible. Interestingly my vegetarian nephew declared the vegetable lasagne to be very nice though a bit small for a big lad of 21. I ate enough not to wake in the night needing room service chips and thought that breakfast would make up the deficit. Sadly, although the fruit and cereal selection was good, the hot breakfast was badly presented. bacon was either not quite cooked and fatty or over cooked and dry, fried bread tasted of sunflower oil and had been cooked too cold, mushrooms looked like they were out of a tin and my sister's poached eggs were just weird. But, the service was really lovely. The coffee was good, toast made with decent bread and gluten free offerings for the coeliacs in our party which was great. And check out was efficient and friendly. So, please,Moor Hall, pick up the batten and be the lovely auntie we've loved over the last 46 years

We enjoyed the Carvery as always on Mothering Sunday. There is always a good choice of starters which you can help yourself to and there was a good choice of meats and selection of vegetables. The staff were attentive and courteous.

We had our wedding there Easter weekend 2018. The staff were so helpful and bent over backwards to not only make the day perfect but ease my worries. They were so professional from the planning process to the day. There were lovely extra touches like waking up on Easter morning to have an Easter egg outside our room and a lovely personalised photo frame left in our room. The grounds are stunning for photos, especially the Roman bear pit. The food is extraordinary. The suite was amazing with an extra sitting room, a huge bathroom with a giant Jacuzzi. I loved every minute of our stay there. Cannot recommend this venue enough for a wedding!

We recently went to the Country Kitchen restaurant for my Daughter's Birthday, having been last year and really enjoyed it. This time however the story was different. We had previously enjoyed the buffet starter with smoked fish and various salads and cold meat, this time the buffet appeared to have been slimmed down to a salad bar which looked a bit tired and was very disappointing. The carvery was spoilt by the serving Lady Chef, who made two very basic errors, firstly my wife was offered crackling off the pork, this was politely declined as she thought it appeared not to be crispy enough for her taste, the Chef took umbrage to this and over forcefully stated that “it was crispy enough” how could she possibly know what my wife's expectation was and should have simply accepted her view and not been argumentative. Secondly and perhaps even more bizarrely when my Daughter was asked for her preference she chose what she wanted and was offered two pigs in blankets, she doesn't like these so declined and asked the Chef to put them on her partners plate as he did, when her partners turn came to choose he asked for his pigs in blankets as part of the meal but was told he couldn't because he already had two, being the two my daughter had given him. Rules are Rules as they say, two per person only, had she passed them over at the table I dread to think of the consequences had the Chef found out.... Needless to say we didn't want to make a fuss and spoil our Daughters night, and treated it as a joke, however in reality it changes peoples frame of mind and the night was not as good as it should have been. It is therefore not worth commenting on the food itself as we already had a sour taste from the service, enough to say it was no better than average.

Having spent a recent weekend at this hotel I submit the following observations. The location and surroundings are beautiful. The car park can get very busy when there is a wedding taking place in the hotel. The staff are amazing throughout the hotel. We were disappointed to find that we were not allowed to use the pool ahead of check in time and after checkout time, 15:00 - 11:00. The food in the Oak Room was the best I have ever had anywhere in the world, expensive, but truly top class. Our room was lovely and well equipped. The pool and spa area are great. Over all, I would certainly recommend this hotel, we will be returning for another weekend and a meal in the Oak Room for sure. Thanks to all concerned for a great weekend.

We are not ones for writing reviews but felt really cheated with this and wanted to warn other potential customers who may be trying to use a voucher. We were bought a voucher for Christmas that did not cover too much but saw this in the upgrade section and thought what an excellent idea and value. Checked their website for availability which showed plenty. Called them at 6.30Pm and checked what the voucher included. Evening meal, spa access, room and breakfast. Excellent. Checked dates and was told no problem. Advised to call back after 8am tomorrow to speak to the reservations team who would be able to book us in. Even discussed additional spa treatments. All good so far. Paid extra to upgrade our voucher on line that evening. Called the reservations team at 9.00 am the next day all excited to be told that they would not accept the voucher for that date as they had used all of the voucher allocations. When I explained that we had called the night before and were told it was fine we were told “ not sure who told you that but it's not available”. When I pointed out that their website showed availability we were simply informed that's for non voucher uses. Spoke to buy a gift who tried to talk to them but they will not budge. Requested a full refund. Shame as looks really nice but their customer service is somewhat lacking. They made a mistake and even though they have rooms etc available will not take the booking. Be careful if trying to redeem a voucher with this hotel. Even if they say they have availability get it in writing as they may go back on their word.

I found this hotel from research on TripAdvisor. I had regular communication with the reservation team prior to our stay. They met every request and I would give them 10/10. Check in was ok. The hotel is beautiful and has little cosy areas with open fires creating a warm atmosphere. There was no signs to the lift which meant a lot of exploring en route. The room was a superior one which was very nice and spacious and contained extra touches. More attention to detail is needed for cleansing as the table legs were that filthy that I was able to leave a message in the dust ie ‘clean me'. The fridge shelf was also dirty. I always bring detergent wipes so this was not an issue; although should have been clean. The bath is showing signs of wear and tear. There is a large choice of spa treatments and special offers. We spent time in the jacuzzi and pool which was so relaxing. We had a three course meal in the Country Kitchen, we did not receive a warm welcome but our experience after the initial welcome was good by all other staff. The salad bar had a good selection, enough to make healthy choices for me to remain within my diet restrictions. The carvery was like no other I've experienced anywhere else, all foods are fully covered between serving this means they remain hot and not exposed. The person serving was warm and friendly, the carvery portions were generous and we really enjoyed our meals. There was a nice selection of deserts including fresh fruit. The bed was really comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. I had porched eggs and oven baked quorn sausages cooked to order which allowed me to keep to my diet limitations. The cook told me how long this would take and I enjoyed other foods whilst I waited. Staff during the breakfast service were very good. Check out was with Kelly who asked if I had a good stay and checked my account details and provided me with the necessary paperwork. We had a really lovely time, I will definitely be back and would recommend.

Beautiful decor - The Oak Room Restaurant at Moor Hall Hotel and a lovely meal. We arrived earlier than our booked time and were asked to go in to the adjacent bar area for a drink where menus would be brought to us to make our starter and main selections. The bar was equally ‘Oak' in its decor and as equally sumptuous as the restaurant with subdued but effective lighting. The bar staff linked seamlessly with the restaurant staff and soon we were seated at our table. The restaurant was full and there was a buzz of quiet chatter from the tables. The waiters were efficient and attentive. The food was tasty and well presented. I would definitely visit again.

Wedding Menu Taster Night 22 March. Wonderful night in the newly refurbished Charter Suite, which looks amazing. Food was fantastic and wine excellent. Staff were lovely and looked after us so well. Sam Davis organised a great night and was there in the morning for our pre-wedding meeting. We are relaxed and confident that Sam and the team will make it a very special day to remember for us and our guests. Thank you to all the team at Moor Hall.

I attend the wonderful moor hall hotel every Thursday for a business meeting and always look forward to the most fantastic breakfast served each and every week. The hotel manager Mr Sam Goss is the perfect host.

We arrived on one of the coldest nights of the year to a lovely warm reception with roaring fire and friendly staff. Only one small gripe - the carpark hadn't been gritted so was a dangerous skating rink,but we did manage to park near the front door which helped. Our room was toasty warm on arrival and very spacious - we'd booked a Superior room and it didn't disappoint. One of the best things was the heated towel rail in the bathroom - so many hotels don't have any heating in the bathroom, but this one was lovely and warm. The little touches in the room made it feel special - cans of soft drinks, fruit, chocolates, quality biscuits, quality coffee with a caffetiere, slippers and bathrobes, and bottles of water. I'd left a request on booking for wheat-free biscuits just on the offchance, and although I didn't get them day 1, I was touched to see them delivered for me day 2. Always the measure of a good hotel willing to go the extra mile. The views outside were stunning - our room overlooked the sunken pond and gardens and even in the snow it looked magical, with one of the trees lit up at night. The room was also spotlessly clean bar a little mold around the windows, which really wasn't an issue, and the mini-bar which had been left off, so smelt quite bad, but we had no plans to use it, so just left it shut for the duration. The breakfast was good - they had an option for gluten-free toast, and had plenty of choice (bacon, fried eggs, sausages, tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms, hash browns, pastries fruit etc etc) and you could also order from the menu if preferred - eg veggie sausages and poached or scrambled eggs, or for a little extra, smoked salmon, haddock etc . There was also a choice of coffees (latte, cappucino etc) and tea, The venue itself is stunning - a lovely old building, but well modernised with lots of little nooks and crannies to enjoy a few quiet moments and little bits of memorabelia scattered around to make for interesting reading on the saunter back to your room. When the sun finally showed its face, we enjoyed a lovely romantic walk around the gardens listening to trickling water and birdsong - idyllic. So, why only 'almost' perfect - well, on both nights we stayed, the heating went off between 1am and 5am. With it being -6 outside it meant that the room got cold very quickly and no matter how high we turned up the thermostat (set to 30 degrees at one point and with radiators on max) we still couldn't get it to kick in. Luckily we'd brought our own hot water bottle with us, but not something we expected to have to do in a 4 star hotel. Given it went off the same time each night, it would suggest that something was turned off centrally to prevent the heating being used.If so, it was poor show from management on such a cold night. If it wasn't for the heating issue, it would've been 5 stars and worth every penny - will definately be going back - but only in the warmer months!

We fell in love with the hotel within seconds of walking into the Charter Suite. The prices were reasonable, and so we happily chose this as the venue we wished to have our reception. From day one, we were able to control and change any aspect of the package to suit us, from adding late night baps, to having the band set up the day beforehand (this was due to the room being free the night before, as we married out of season on a Friday). We dealt with several members of staff, including Samantha and Jamie, both of whom went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy with the service we received. The room we chose was comfortable, and the shower was more than capable of blasting away the cobwebs the morning after the night before.

We booked this hotel after vising another and decided this was right up our street. We have dined, stayed and done several balls at hotel of which we had no complaints. Our event co-ordinater Sam made helpful suggestions and helped us plan the perfect day. Jamie was our allocated staff member on the day to co-ordinate, and he did a wonderful job. Nothing was left to chance. Jamie was on the ball. Through Jamie and Sam we had an amazing day/eve for which I can only say out did my expectations. Truly a day to remember. The Bracebridge room was intimate and the Charter Suite beautiful The hotel had ours and guests room ready when we required them which was before check in. All staff at the event were polite and efficient.. Food excellent. DJ amazing. The location is second to none and that touch of snow set off our photos. Our family and friends commented of how atentative the staff were. What they wanted they got. Good attention to patrons needs. We cannot thank the hotel and its staff for giving us a truly magical day which we will remember with fondness for the rest of our lives

Spent one night on business and to attend training at the property. The check in was good, the room very comfortable and breakfast very good too. Service was good and food high quality with nice little extra touches. This place is above the normal Best Western offering. Recommended.

We visited the country kitchen for mothers day lunch. We were a little early but out table was ready. Starters were fantastic and you could go up as often as you liked. The carvery was the best one we have all ever had. Meat great spuds great veg great gravy great. Pudding was veeybtasty and again you could try a few different ones. The whole experience was fantastic and we loved every mouthful.

Stayed here overnight on a Monday evening as a treat for my girlfriends birthday. Moor Hall is a delight, it's surroundings provide such a beautiful view from your room. Facilities are great, my stay included spa/pool/gym access alongside breakfast in the morning; all of which were great! This hotel is picturesque and ideal for special events such as weddings and private functions.. It has two main restaurants, one of which (The Oak Room) is two rosette quality with fine dining and a fantastic a la carte menu. The other is slightly less fancy but with a perfect menu also including roast dinner, homemade soups, cakes and desserts.. The room (superior double) is slightly dated with regards to the decor but nevertheless very clean and tidy with, as mentioned before, a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. The hotel were so kind preparing happy birthday treats in our room for my girlfriend on our arrival. Very nice touch indeed. If you are looking for a peaceful stay with a touch of class, look no further. Thank you to all at Moor Hall for making my visit a special one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Visited Moor Hall hotel and Spa with my family for dinner, a nights stay and breakfast. The room was spacious and had lovely views and we had fruit and well as teas and coffees which was a genius touch. The hotel catered for my fussy needs with decaf tea, vegetarian sausages, oats porridge, brown bread. The service was second to none. The pool, sauna and steam room were excellent and the water was warm (another brownie point). There was a drink to try on the reception desk on arrival which was welcoming and you were given a robe and slippers to use the spa. There was a delay in waiting for breakfast in the morning, but the service from the supportive and attentive staff, more than made up for this. All the stars feedback as we definitely will go there again and we recommend it to anyone who wants a more than value for money experience.

Large party of us arrived for afternoon tea. This was more expensive than the usual afternoon tea with a gift which turned out to be a bag of small samples of products from the spa not exactly the gift I was expecting. First drink was a cold cup of coffee which I had to send back. Constantly felt as though had to keep asking for more tea etc as there wasn't enough provided for our group and felt as though towards the end of the session which was a 2 hour slot the staff were giving us a wide berth in case we asked for anything. We did ask for more jam and cream for the 14 scones we had as was greeted with l'll check if we have any left ? Need to pop to the shops for £26 each and buy some I thought. To top it off our slot wasn't finished and he staff started packing up around us and moving the table arrangements before we had left. Not impressed won't be returning.

Second time at this hotel, great friendly welcome, excellent room service and brilliant to see the fantastic Sue serving the best breakfast, is still here. Chamber maids are brilliant great attention to detail and really do look after you. If you want to be treated like royalty with the friendliness of family atmosphere, then this is the place to visit The staff really do make this a fantastic hotel.

I was introduced to this hotel by BNI Networking and attend weekly networking meetings there. The breakfast is out of this world and no other event comes close! The staff are always helpful and have a polite word to say even at 6.30 in the morning. I am now a member of the gym, use for business meetings and also take the family for Sunday lunch.

I met a friend for afternoon tea at this great hotel. We had a great time catching up while the girls were playing in the Snug. Unfortunatley, My daughter was sick, the staff couldn't do enough to help us and insisted on letting them clean up. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family.It is a true child friendly establishment.

Lovely gardens and views. Friendly and helpful staff to take care of you and make you feel welcome. Convenient spots to charge laptop while working from lounge area. Breakfast was great too. Nothing to complain about.

I regularly visit Moor Hall for business meetings and i now feel in a position to post an honest review. Good service only matters when it's consistent which is what I have found to be the case for Moor Hall. It is a beautiful character hotel set in stunning grounds and features a terrific spa. My breakfast needs to be vegan and they are able to cater for me which is great. I can highly recommend Moor Hall Hotel to anyone looking for a high quality hotel experience.

I have run three events at the hotel in the last couple of months, and all have been excellent. The food served has been tasty, and reasonably priced, the rooms that we have used have all been fantastically arranged and the staff have all been very friendly, and hughely accomodating. Jamie, the Banqueting Manager is an absolute star and was extremely accomodating and prrofessional throughout two of the events that we hosted. We will definately be using the hotel again for future events.

Friendly, welcoming staff on arrival. Decent spa facilities and nice food. Poorly organised at breakfast where we doubled up with two other couples. Fortunately, we knew them but consider if we had not. Felt as if we were troubling the staff by wanting breakfast we had paid for. Some items in bedroom not particularly clean. Man at the spa counter appeared disinterested. The room was okay, but small and claustrophobic. Vastly overpriced at £150 a night for what was little more than average.

First impressions was wow but 5 minuets after booking in I wonted my money back so I could go home .First I'm disabled and was put on roof floor ,after I caught my breath I asked to be moved.The staff agreed to move me to a reasonable room on the nearly ground floor .Next, time to books massage and a facial, not a hope in hell.Im sorry we are fully booked fan bloody tastic.Ok so I'll book a table for a meal, no you won't my friends Thay are fully booked .Now I won't the manager, I say your hotel clearly states come stay have a massage and eat good food and use the facilities.Yes .then why can't I book a massage and a facial and a meal am I supposed to starve for the night .In the end Thay made some excuses and said Thay could fit us in for a meal but not massage and facial the room the meal was in was like my old school canteen .That is not good enough I said my sister and I have just lost our farther and we're coming to try to recover a bit . Oh nothing we can do i again asked for a refund and said we would re book whenever we could get what we wonted.Thay we're not at all interested and had no intention of refunds.So we stayed the next bulls up was my sister storming Down stairs at one in the morning demanding to be moved as the noise in her room was so bad it had given her a migraine and she could not sleep.Thay moved her into the room next to me .in the morning we asked again to se manager but he was no more help than before .so we checked out a day early after being charged twice for the Sam thing .both of us paid twice so now we are fighting for a refund .I WOULD NOT GO BACK FOR FREE

Had a lovely afternoon tea for my mom's birthday, staff all seem nice. Our server Luke couldn't do enough to help and was lovely. Overall a really good afternoon and would do it again worth every penny.

The spa and the breakfast were lovely, really enjoyed using the facilities, swimming pool, sauna steam room and jacuzzi, my partner enjoyed the gym also. Didn't realise that we had robes in the room and towels in the spa so we could have used those but we weren't told. The breakfast was fantastic in the country kitchen proper butchers sausages and thick bacon, also lots of fruit and cereals and continental to choose from. Beautiful grounds and nicely located near to Birmingham so we visited cadbury world the following day. When we arrived we were told by a lady at a computer to wait, we waited for around 5 minutes then she checked us in, no smiles here. We kind of had to figure out where everything was on our own. The restaurants were all booked up for the whole weekend i wish id have known this was going to be an issue because i would have booked in advance. We ended up eating in the terrace bar, i ate a lovely cheese and bacon burger. I had one glass of wine which was nearly £8. I thought the drinks were very expensive. A coke was £3.80!! The room was small and dated in decor, very clean and the bathroom was new and very modern. Overall i did enjoy the stay here i thought the hotel looked beautiful from the outside and had a very posh feel. I think the communication could have been better.

Had a lovely stay at Moor Hall and cant believe we haven't tried it before. We try to visit Sutton Coldfield annually for my husband to visit his old haunts. This year we were given a Buy a Gift certificate for a leisure break and decided to use it for a overnight stay at Moor Hall, this included dinner in the County Kitchen and breakfast the next morning. We arrived at 3pm on the Sunday afternoon and the hotel was busy with lots of Sunday lunch guests but after a few minutes wait we checked in and went to our room which was very good for a standard room. I went to the pool and I had also booked a treatment which was very good. Dinner in the Country Kitchen was great, drinks in the bar were a bit pricey but nothing eye watering and breakfast the next day also very good. Glad we tried it and it made it all the better that it was a pressie and I only had to pay for the treatment!

My friends and I had thought that being able to enjoy an afternoon tea together would be difficult as one of us is dairy free. However, from my very first contact with the friendly and helpful team at Moor Hall, those concerns evaporated. When we visited today, our expectations were fully realised. We had excellent food, superb service and my friend was able to partake fully: a good thing really as it was her birthday treat. We look forward to finding another good excuse for treating ourselves in the near future.

We have just returned from a totally wonderful weekend away celebrating our joint birthdays and silver wedding. The hotel staff were friendly, attentive to detail and made our stay one to remember and one to be repeated. The accommodation, facilities and food were all enjoyed by us all and we had no need to ask for anything more. In the restaurant, every effort is made to cater for all, including dietry requirements. I can't wait to return again in the summer months, so I can enjoy the beautiful grounds and al fresco bars. Well done to all.

Went with family for afternoon tea. The service was good very attentive and food not too bad fruit scones were a bit dry but all the other food was fine. Not the cheapest by any means and have had better at other places but overall a reasonable afternoon tea. Unsure if I would go back again as nothing was really outstanding.

We ate in the Oak Room; Sunday lunch. My husband had traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding which was excellent. I had the sea bass, less tradition, more innovation - so something for all - it was exquisite. It featured mussels, clams and samphire - see photo. Sticky toffee pudding and lemon parfait for pudding - delicious. Lovely varied menu. Gorgeous setting, though restaurant slightly dated, it feels 'proper'. Will definitely return.

What a great location away from the metropolis of the Big Bad City of Birmingham (I can say that - I was born there). Lovely room, superb attention to detail from the staff throughout the hotel - made to feel very comfortable. I've been there on business at least 3/4 times in the past year and have always felt welcome each time.

Myself and my husband got married here last weekend and were blown away by the service we received. From the moment where we had an initial consultation through the booking, meal tasting and service in the week leading up to the wedding weekend we were so impressed. The coordinator Sam Davies was excellent and all our requirements were met and she was friendly and helpful at all times. The master of Ceremonies on the day, Jamie Hall, was outstanding and he could not have done more to help us. Even in the 2 days after the wedding he was asking how we were and ensuring we had the best time. I would highly recommend the hotel as a wedding venue and hotel as it made our day absolutely perfect and stress free. Thank you very much to all the staff who made it such a smooth day.

i have stayed in this hotel loads of times and will again.everyone is so nice and helpful.ive stayed here with my husband and ive stayed here with my friends on a girls over night stay.The spa is good,as is the treatments.afternoon tea is lovly.lunch and dinner in both resturants is good.i have been going there for years.i stop in lots of hotels and keep coming back to this one and so does the family and friends

In all my 30yrs of travelling with business I've never coming across a more cheeky load of staff, unhelpful and ignorant. I wouldn't recommend this place, may be OK for a local but not from a far. Go at your own risk.

Booked as a early Valentine's Day treat, really lovely place, we were seated in the Oak Room, We received a very warm welcome lovely food very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, a very enjoyable experience would definitely visit again........

I had the misfortune to attend a two day training seminar at this hotel. The training was really good and very helpful, so all was not lost. On arriving in reception I was surprised there wasn't a notice of the course I was attending with directions. I had to get the attention of a male behind the reception desk in order to ask where I could find the conference room for the course I was attending. His directions were... to say the least vague !! It was a sort of a wave with one finger to the right of the reception, I also got it was first floor, I also found him difficult to understand, but not wanting to appear rude I didn't feel comfortable asking him to replete his instructions, not to mention he turned away from me while I was still I'm sure looking confused. however the first fight of stairs took me to another meeting not mine. I will say the next person I asked wasn't sure where my conference room should be, but he was very polite and eventually got me to the right place. The room was cold but comfortable seats and clean. The one toilet for women and one for men between at least two conference meetings was not the best, as it resulted in missing more of the meeting than should of been necessary, also the toilet roll holder was loose a small maintenace issue that I would of expected to of been fixed by day two, It wasn't. But by far the thing that I was most disappointed by was the food, mostly the lack of it! Day one before one third of the group had, had a chance to get anything on their plates it had run out! there wasn't anything to say what was on the few sandwiches making it difficult to make choices in keeping with dietary needs/preferences. I was hopeful that day two would be better, they always say better to travel hopefully. Day two wasn't any better at all! However there was a few Luke warm limp chips. And I had to point out to a young attendant that the plate I picked up was really dirty with a black substance of unknown origin, He just took it and turned away without saying anything. If I ever have to attend this place again I will bring my own food, like another colleague had decided sensibly to do on day two. I would never attend by choice. Such a shame as I know in the past Moor Hall was the place to be.

Me and my girlfriend had an overnight stay here, the hotel is very nice and the staff very attentive. We have the three course carvery on the night and breakfast in the morning which was lovely. The only downside was that our room was really cold even with the heating on full.

I booked this as a Christmas present to my nan who loved it. We had the one with a glass of prosecco which was lovely. We both enjoyed it, great selection of sandwiches as well as cakes ... even got a box to take left overs home!!!! Jasmine did a great job of serving us, was super attentive and really helped when I managed to spill tea everywhere .... she was of great help and was great with my nan too (82)!

Myself and my friends came to Moor Hall for Afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. We was greeted by a young lady called Jas who showed us to our table and straight away offered us some drinks and recommended their Gin menu. We was then talked through the different kinds of Afternoon teas and the different drinks which were available with our Afternoon Tea. We explained that we didn't want certain sandwiches and this was accommodated for us by the Chefs. The beautiful afternoon tea came shortly after we had placed our order, filled with sandwiches, scones and loads of cakes (which we didn't finish!!!). After a short while, I received a birthday message on a plate from the team at Moor Hall which was a lovely touch on my Birthday. Jas constantly came over asking if we wanted anything else or any more drinks. She was very attentive, friendly and nothing was to much trouble for her, whilst looking after us and other guests. She really is a credit to your hotel. We will be returning very soon.

Myself and my partner were gifted a hotel voucher for xmas and after looking at many hotels decided to try Moor Hall and I'm happy to say we both agree we made the right decision. We stayed for one night on Friday 2nd February 2018 for a little break away for just the two of us. We were both specifically interested in staying in a hotel which had a pool and other facilities and the one at Moor Hall was definitely up to the mark. We were given some tokens for the lockers when we signed in which was great as we were both out of change at the time. The pool was great and the temperature was spot on - not too cold or hot, just right. The other facilities being the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were great also and we used them all. We stayed in a standard double room and we were both very satisfied with the amentities and size of the room. Bed was very comfy and we both sept very well. Have noticed other reviews mentioning how hot it is in the rooms but we were able to regulate the heat by turning the radiator down and opening windows so no problem there. The only reason we can't award a 5/5 is due to the dinner experience. First thing to say is that the food is excellent at this hotel and we had a 3 course dinner which was great. Our only problem was with the service. Our starters were served to us which was great but after they were cleared we were not entirely sure it was a self service for the mains or not. We did have to ask a member of staff what exactly the process was as it wasn't made clear to us as we were seated. We were told what the options for food were but not exactly how the service worked and were left a little disappointed. We have no problem with self service but felt the confusion put a bit of a downer on our dinner experience. We also found ourselves constantly trying to get the staffs attention to order more drinks or ask for anything else. I will also add that the hotel does offer another restuatrant which we did not use so cannot comment on. Having said that we have read great reviews of the other restaurant so given the opportunity of returning to the hotel we would look to use one compared to the other. The other part of the hotel we enjoyed was the bar and the surrounding rooms that were situated around the area. One room in particular had an open fire and was a great place to sit back and relax with a couple of drinks. All in all we did have a great time at Moor Hall and would certaintly come back again given the opportunity.

I stayed here for two nights during December for work. Location wise it was ideal as it was close to where I was based. I did encounter a problem with my first hotel room; the door lock broke with most of my things still in the room. I was put in a different room and had to wait for the maintenance to attend to sort the lock and get my case. The situation wasn't ideal but the staff were ever so apologetic and couldn't do enough for me. The room I got in place was far superior than the first so every cloud and all... Overall the hotel was clean, despite the hotel being pretty full I didn't find it too noisy or anything. The shower was powerful enough and the bath run pretty quickly. The door issue dampened the experience but it wasn't there fault; these things happen and like I said, they were ever so apologetic about it.

My husband and I stayed overnight at Moor Hall Hotel their service was excellent. Staff were very kind and friendly. They even put a cake and card in our room, as we were celebrating our anniversary. Dinner in the Oak room was delicious and once again the staff could not be more attentive. All staff at this hotel go out of their way to make you feel at home. Our room was perfect and overlooked the garden.

We hired the Bracebridge room on Friday 26th Jan 2018 for our Daughters 16th Birthday party. Andy and Connor were fantastic and helped us. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they made sure we had everything we needed.The guests thought the hotel was beautiful and the facilities were fantatsic. Some of our guests had booked rooms and said how spacious and clean the rooms were. The buffet provided for the party was just about right and enough for everyone who attended.Having the bar downstairs didnt phase the guests as it was a break for them from the music to go downstairs and get a drink. This is a great venue and i would reccomend this hotel to anyone to have a family celebration. Thanks again and the buffet Breakfast is amazing.

Five of us visited this hotel for a "Burns Night" event which gave a package for meals, entertainment and staying overnight at the hotel. The price per couple was under one hundred and fifty pounds and the single was just over a hundred pounds. The food was excellent although the service was a bit slow because of the number of courses. A tip for the hotel is to maybe combine the haggis course and the main course to speed things up. The dinner lasted from 8p.m. until 10:15 p.m. which meant that the band only played from 10:15 p.m. until midnight. If the dinner finished at about 9:30 there would be more time for dancing. We were piped into the excellent ballroom by a piper who subsequently gave an address to the haggis as normal. After dinner we had a ceilidh band who were acceptable but not as good as many of the bands we have seen in Scotland. For example there was no accordian player. I am also not sure that all the dances were Scottish because I did not recognize some of them. Thankfully the music was not excessivly loud and we did not have to endure the modern computer type disco boom boom so called music.that is the bane of most functions offered in this country and has taken the pleasure out of most events. The hotel is a large country house venue set in its own delightful grounds. It is an old building with a lot of character. There are modern extensions housing bedrooms. Our room was spacious, overlooking gardens and had a nice large bathroom. It was clean and well equipped. The sleep quality was fine and breakfast good. The hotel has a nice conservatory and a number of characteristic public rooms. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I did not try the pool or leisure center but my wife did. Her report was that it was lovely but quite crowded, particularly in the changing rooms. It would seem that you have to take care in picking the time of your visit there. Overall this hotel is an excellent place to visit or stay . It would be great in the summer months because there is a nice outside terrace area. The hotel is also as the heading says, excellent value for money.

I have been waiting for a month to calm down and be objective about me and my girlfriend experience at this hotel. We arrived at the hotel on 24 December at 22:30 after a quite long way from London. At the reception was a single girl probably waiting to Finnish the shift as it was Xmas. As soon as we checked in,we walked to the room. Opening the door a very strange, bad and strong smell make us looking to each other with surprise and fear! The smell was coming from the toilet and the room must have been out of use for very long time. To cover the smell, probably the cleaning services had spray a very strong deodorant and that was making the smell stronger and really unbearable ! I called the reception and asked for another room telling them about the horrible smell! They didn't refused and they told us that is happening in some rooms due that the building is old. By 12:00 we arrived at the new room . My girlfriend noticed that the room was not properly cleand! I told her to set up and I walked to the main bar to get some water as there was no water or anything else in the room apart of tab water. When I returned my girlfriend was ready to cry! There were hair under the sheets! We couldn't Change hotel at that moment and we decided to put or pijamas and use the extra blanket. We actually didn't slept well and in the morning we had to go at her parents house for Christmas family lunch. She decided to go at the spa and return for breakfast. I hoped that the cleaners will come and clean the room . After my girlfriend returned from the spa she had a shower and in our great surprise there was no hairdryer at the room. I call the reception and they said that the cleaners will bring one! We have been waiting for more than an hour! NOTHING! We went for breakfast and my girlfriend had wet hair. We stopped at the reception to mention it and the answer was "the cleaners will bring it". I was rally upset and actually didn't believe what was happening. After breakfast with wet hair on Christmas day we returned at the room to get dressed hopping that they would have brought the hairdryer. Unfortunately nothing! No hairdryer! We left from the hotel with wet hair to go at my girlfriend parents driving for half an hour. All family when they saw us asked what happened. We explained them and they couldn't believe what was happening! We returned at the hotel the same night late about 11:30. The room wasn't clean again. We decided to leave in the morning and look for another hotel. The next morning we left and start looking for another hotel. When we returned at the hotel to pickup our luggage the reception on duty asked us why we wanted to live? We told him that we suffer for 2 days and that was not acceptable. They offered us another room this time bigger and finally clean! It actually make no difference because our Christmas vacation was totally ruined! I really don't want to hear again about this place ! This business is running by total amateur and unprofessional people. They have no idea about running a hotel and hospitality! It's the worst experience I ever had at a hotel all these years!!!!

My fiancé and I got engaged at Moor Hall hotel back in 2016 and we were treated very well! So much that we were considering having our wedding there in 2019. Pat looked after me on that stay and she was fantastic, a real credit to the place! We still came back and stayed for the odd night for special occasions, it's not something we can afford to do all the time! We last stayed there on 5th January 2018 after seeing a special offer for £69 for a room with breakfast which was great, we also booked into the oak room for dinner, the food was excellent and again service was great! We went to bed to find that the bedroom was unbearably hot so we turned the radiator down only to find that the room continued to get hotter to the point I was sweating! By 2 am I still hadn't slept, the radiator was cold but the wall next to my bed was roasting hot! At about 3 am I nodded off only to be woke by a fire alarm which was a false activation probably to do with the heat in the corridors! I complained at 4.30 am and the manager checked the hallway to find the radiator that backs into my room was on full, the hallway was like an inferno! I had to move rooms at 5 am in order to sleep but this was the room next door, still very hot!! My following day was ruined and plans to use the hotel were cancelled as I was like a bear with a sore head! The manager on the morning took my email address and said he would look after me as a valued customer! I was later offered a return stay on a Sunday only, not bank holidays or 25% of the room rate any other date which was £150 the date I wanted! Essentially I would have had to have time off work to come back or pay for another stay which would have cost me more than the original stay! I was not happy with this and asked for a refund for the room but was told I could only have 50% refund! Needles to say for that sake of a free night of our choice or a full refund we will now not be returning, nor will we be booking our wedding there. It's a great place but beware, when things go wrong and your stay is ruined through no fault of your own, the management would rather lose you than give you a refund of 69 quid! I believe the manager who made the decision is sam, well done, you saved yourself 35 quid but lost a returning customer who spent over 200 quid on every stay and would have booked a wedding, we will now find ourselves another place who value their customers!!!!!

Myself and my partner stayed for a little break and it was fantastic. Our room was well put together and had a modern bathroom with a large bath. We used the spa facilities in the evening these were really nice although the lockers are still set up for the old £1 coins which is a little odd. Reception can swop a new £1 for a token so u can use them. We didn't use the hotel for our evening meal as we found a cheeky Nando's not to far down the road. The hotel was nice and quiet during the night and the bed comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very busy and could have probably done with another pair of hands to clear the tables to make it that bit smoother. The food was nice with a big selection. I would definitely go back again.

Had a fun time with 5 friends sampling their 'Girls Night In' package. We had lovely rooms, although was disappointed that we didn't get the chocolates that the girls in the other two rooms got, and I was the one that organised it!!! Very comfortable beds, with a large modern, clean bathroom. My meal wasn't as good as expected although the other 5 enjoyed theirs, they had carvery, whereas I had the chicken in mushroom sauce, rather dry and not very flavoursome. For dessert 2 of us had the sticky toffee pudding, don't have it, as there was no sticky toffee sauce, boo hoo. After dinner we had the use of a private lounge where there were DVDs for us to watch, plus chocolate bars, popcorn and ice-cream. In the morning we had a very tasty breakfast. Good attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will book again :)

We took.part in the burns night celebration and stayed the night. We found the whole event really enjoyable and will definitely book again. The food was perfect and the burns night well planned. We found the room to be a bit hot and a little noisy but otherwise great. Also found the car park to be a bit on the small side when considering the size of the room. That said we did manage to find a space The staff are helpful and friendly and contributed to what was a memorable experience.

We held my wife's 40th Birthday at the hotel. The food and service was nothing short of fantastic. All of our guests paid compliment to how great the event was and this was all down to how well Moor Hall organised it. Worldclass and I would certainly use it again!!

Stayed in a superior double room which was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Restaurant and bar staff very accommodating and helpful, food in the restaurant was lovely and as was our waiter. Grounds are pretty, and offer a golf course which I didn't use.

Booked a hotel and spa deal for me and my partner (one night stay, 2x spa treatments each, 2 courses in the oak room etc). Was upgraded on request to a 4-poster bed room. Nice bathroom. Spa treatments were very relaxing, could find nothing to complain about. Relaxation room was a nice added feature. Pool was smaller in comparison to hotel size but never got so overcrowded you couldn't breathe. Was a fight for the jacuzzi (some people very reluctant to get out). Afternoon tea was amazing - I think nearly everyone took some of theirs back in a box it was very filling but absolutely gorgeous. The gentlemen's tea has some amazing sandwiches but the classic tea was also lovely. £20 pp. Evening meal at the oak room was A*. Could not recommend more was a lovely end to a lovely day. Overall can not complain about anything. Staff very polite. A special mention to Angie (lovely lady who served us the afternoon tea) however did not come across any staff member who wasn't helpful. Breakfast was buffet style but you could asked for freshly made eggs. My partner asked for extra crispy bacon and it was brought out without hesitation. Food recommendation: scallops starter, beef fillet and definitely the soufflé dessert

Stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 6 adults & 1 child. Rooms were lovely. Did have a dirty glass in the bathroom but mistakes happen. Didn't feel it worth complaining about. Hotel is lovely with the majority of staff very friendly. The spa is wonderful. It did get very busy during the afternoon at which point we left. It is quite small so too many people & it gets a little crowded. For us the thing that lets this hotel down is the lack of space in the bar area. It was a weekend when we stayed & there were various hen parties etc of quite large groups. There was never any room to sit down in the bar (afternoon or evening) & various other areas were reserved. Not the hotels fault. They have the space that they have but it was becoming frustrating not having anywhere for us all to sit down & just spend time together. There are way to many rooms for the communal space offered. Breakfast was lovely & plentiful. All in all we had a nice stay.

Our son booked us into the hotel for an overnight visit including dinner and breakfast. The hotel is set fabulous grounds surrounded by a golf course and woodland and park. We did not know what to expect but were really surprised at how amazing the hotel looked and it's location in Sutton Coldfield. The reception was so welcoming and helpful. The room was like a mini suite with separate seating area and was just really comfortable and felt a little luxurious. The bed was huge and so comfy with free use of dressing gowns. The hotel has a well equipped spa with swimming pool all free to use. We had dinner in the garden room restaurant, which was a carvery. The food was well cooked and plentiful with starters being a selection of items including prawns, smoked mackerel and salad or soup. It was relaxed and we were not pushed at anytime to eat up and leave. Breakfast was in the same restaurant and a buffet breakfast with so much to choose from. If you want a bit of luxury at a good price then give it a try.

This is the second time I have dined here even though it was a Groupon deal I have to say the food is stunning I was not disappointed the first time and this latest visit was even better all three courses were mind blowing all 4 of us enjoyed it immensely not only is the food of high quality so is the service of the staff a fantastic night well done to the chefs and all the front of house staff

We stayed at Moor hall for the evening last week and had the most fabulous time. From the moment we checked in by Kelsey and Lucia a little visit to the spa for a massage then evening meal in the restaurant right through to breakfast it truly was wonderful. The food we ate was delicious and plenty of options. I can't recommend this hotel enough great service great food friendly staff so all in all a memorable magical stay what are you waiting for just book it xxx

We have been to moor hall hotel many times over the years we do like the hotel but we have noticed that little things have disappeared. Reception staff are still content and professional when you arrive and checking out, waiting staff at breakfast are friendly, staff in the oak room still provide a good service at dinner, leisure facilities are still great! but we feel the "feeling special" ambuance has disappeared unfortunately, the bar area has changed alot with young unexperienced staff with no eticit and behaviour while serving chatting to themselves while serving You! Seems there are no managers about anymore glasses lying around on tables ECT as the hotel used to boast the posh factor which it doesn't anymore, feel the 4 star will be dropping to a 3 star very soon. What has happened to the hotel is it owned by different people now? Also noticed all the foreign staff are not there anymore they worked hard and gave you the service which you would expect but not anymore, also the menu selection has changed the prices have gone up and the quality, selection and quantity has disappeared in all we have noticed lots of changes in the hotel which is a shame because it used to be our favourite place which now it isn't so we give the hotel a miss for a while and try other places.

We spent 3 nights at Moor Hall Hotel at the end of December and can only say it was perfect. Room, food and staff were all first class. Bed was very comfortable and we had been fortunate enough to have our room upgraded by the Hotel. Wish we could have congratulated the chef as the food served in the Oak Room was excellent. We will not hesitate to return in the future. Moor Hall is certainly more than worthy, in our eyes, of the 4 stars that it has been awarded.

We had a pre Christmas stay in a lovely suite... The room was comfortable with everything we needed, but staff were on hand to deal with any extra we needed... Staff were friendly, professional and extremely efficient...... Room service was fast and the food was well presented and very tasty.. Breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient and range of choice was excellent... Part of the interior in need up an upgrade especially some upholstered items of furniture, but overall a beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings...

Enjoyed the hotel atmosphere with friendly & engaging staff. Unfortunately this was let down by attention to detail which you would expect to be better from a 4 star establishment. Lipstick mark on glass in room & dirty marks on bath towel. Room for improvement.

Stayed as a group of 6 friends for New Years Eve. First impressions were that the buildings were a hotch potch of different styles set in beautiful grounds. The main building had some beautiful wooden clad rooms. We arrived early & had sandwiches for lunch in the bar. Couldn't fault any of our meals plentiful & delicious. Every member of staff we encountered were friendly, efficient & approachable. Our room was a bit dated but warm, welcoming & clean. We had a set menu for NYE in the Oak Dining Room. There were about 7 courses including coffee & chocs. All the meals were excellent. Afterwards we joined the disco function to see in the new year. There was a piper at midnight. We loved every minute. We had a late breakfast in the Oak Dining Room. Again all the food was fresh & plentiful. A special mention to the chef & kitchen staff as one of our friends has a problem with dairy & they went above & beyond to happily accommodate her. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for any function & would love to come back maybe for an afternoon tea.

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Lovely room. We ate in the Oak Room and had the Twixmas Dinner Menu to choose from, my husband and I chose the medallions of beef for our main course which was cooked to perfection. Our starters and desserts were also delicious. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. We also used the pool facilities.

Stayed here for one night as a gift. Was upgraded to the suite which was a lovely surprise. The room was very nice, especially the jacuzzi bath and huge shower room! Used the spa facilities and pool, which we really enjoyed. The food was very nice and plentiful. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Thank you to you all for a lovely stay, especially the receptionist who was particularly very pleasant. Only one negative comment, which I feel bad about saying as everything else was superb, is that I was kept awake by a constant humming noise from the next room. Reported this incase it was a maintenance issue. Hope you find out what it was?! Otherwise a super stay!

We had a wonderful festive afternoon tea at the hotel. The tea was delicious with an excellent selection of sandwiches and cakes. The hotel looked lovely and festive and our table was set beautifully too. My two children had loads of fun with the activity pack they were given which kept them busy while enjoying their tea.

What a lovely day we've had ! Excellent value for money ! Staff are really professional helpful smart and very polite and accommodating . We had a back shoulder neck massage and have had a few before at various places .. there is a young masseur here called Ashleigh and she is by far the best ever !! The technique she uses is one that you must have yourself to believe .. I sounded like a popcorn machine .. she worked her magic and I felt great ! I've had acupuncture ! Chiropracta treatment physio etc and no one has made me feel like she did !! I know it wasn't a fluke either because another lady came out of treatment saying the same thing to her friend ! Thank you so much ! Look after this talented lady moorhall she's unique in her field ! Will be back ASAP :) very happy customers

Had a beautiful room at the hotel. Afternoon drinks with friends followed by dinner in the Oak Room. Evening celebration drinks in the bar. The room was spacious, clean and well supplied by tea, coffee etc. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Next morning an excellent breakfast before a stroll in the grounds.

I stayed in room 276. Poorly appointed room (old television, old furnishings, the shower was awful) Great breakfast and Sunday lunch. Speedy service and pleasant enough staff. The bar area and drinks selection were ok.

Afternoon tea and a nice sit in the gardens . Been before as well for mothers day and fathers day . Always do a brilliant choice o food and the staff are very nice . Lovely building and prices are fab .

Stayed one night recently for their Rob Lamberti, George Michael tribute night. The room was lovely and clean. The night itself was great fun... The food and staff were lovely. Rob put on a great show as always. And the room looked so pretty with fairy lights everywhere. Recommended.

We stayed at Moor Hall for a family celebration. The staff are so kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a meal in the Oak Room and everyone was very impressed. Also, great value for money. Overall an amazing time had by all. Thank You

not too sure how to start but was given room 3 on the ground floor, it was freezing on arrival with windows wide open, no bathroom products in shower or bathroom. went for a meal in the country kitchen which i have to say was good. went back to room about 11 pm, sorted bed out and found that the pillow cases hadnt been changed, were stained and found long hairs on them, just wanted to sleep so turned one inside out and reported the next morning, came back from long days course to find they had made the bed with same dirty pillow cases. night manager came, and in her words she couldnt believe the state of them then straight away and changed them and sent bathroom shower soap. not too sure why it wasnt done whilst away. third night locked out of room, told another night manager what had happened, to his benefit, he did offer us some free drinks later that evening. not good enough though, wasnt a pleasant experience, a clean bed is a MUST in a hotel. PULL YOUR SOCKS UP STAFF. please no replies that says i would have had my room changed etc, because i wasnt offered one, the bed should have been clean, an apology and why it happened would benefit readers please.

A really lovely place to visit, great staff especially the blonde lady behind the bar possibly a supervisor? Very polite and attentive. Only issue was the family member I went into the spa with was told there were no large robes and she was told one size fits all and there are no larger (not discreetly). This is t acceptable and was embarrassing that she had to wear a small robe that did not fit.

We have just experienced a fabulous afternoon at Moor Hall. We attended the afternoon tea with carols in the wonderful setting of the hall which had been decorated beautifully for Christmas. The selection of sandwiches, cakes and trifles were delicious. The entertainment was delightful with the choir doing themselves proud.

My Dad and I visit here every week for an early dinner and have never had anything other than a good meal. The food is always fresh and the carvery meats superb. We have also had a chefs special of fish and chips which was one of the best we have had in a restaurant, special thanks to Bobby and Adam for that! The staff really make this place, Chantelle is an absolute star who runs a tight ship where service comes first. We look forward to our visit every week so thank you.

Went for a birthday afternoon tea. We were significantly late due to bad traffic, but the staff were really understanding and accommodating. We had a vegetarian afternoon tea - the food was okay, if a bit small on the sandwich portion, but we grateful to have a non-meat option. Our waiter was really pleasant and clearly went out of his way to make sure all of the guests were happy. The house itself and the grounds were also very nice. We would definitely come back again.

Came here as part of a corporate Xmas party. Food and entertainment was very good. Rooms were nice and comfortable and well decorated. Hotel bar was quaint and well stocked. Hotel grounds werr beautiful, once you left the main "old" building it was all just a little bit non-descript. But overall a good experience.

Booked a spa day and treatment as a couple at what is our local spa/hotel. Eat here regularly at Sunday lunch. Pleasant meet and greet. Lovely views well kept grounds from the patio eating area. On this ocassion the food was disappointing. The wrong meal was brought out. No apology. The waiter expected me to just eat it. I sent it back. My partner had finished his food by the time mine had been brought back to the table. Amazingly the same as it was originally sent back in. Covered in mayo. We left after a half hearted apology. No refund offered on my meal which I didn't touch. Spa pool side covered in dead dried up wasps which when drawn to the attention of Spa reception. The response "yeah that happens in hotter months". We'll clear them away! Our massages were great. Chill room was peaceful.

I stayed here overnight on a business trip. We had a conference facility and private dining. Everything was good, the food and service. Breakfast all looked good but I ordered porridge which was great. Sadly I did not get chance to try the leisure facilities. I would go again for business or pleasure.

Came to Moor Hall with a group of friends for a spa break. Gorgeous hotel, lovely spa with a great massage, and fantastic food. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and planning a return trip next year!

I had high expectations after reading the reviews before my stay and having spoken to friendly staff on the phone. However, I was so let down. The room was bare, the beds not comfy, the customer service from some of the staff was some of the worst I have ever received. The Sunday evening meal was inedible, I left the majority of it. Breakfast was even worse. I would not recommend the hotel.

Stayed here for a short break and had a lovely time. Room was really nice with all the amenities that you would expect. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the shower particularly good very powerful great way to wake up after a comfy nights sleep. The Hotel is in some lovely grounds and I would think it would be a great venue for a wedding with some lovely photo opportunities. We used the Spa and love a hotel where you have a dressing gown and shoes to go to the spa too so no changing and balancing on one foot after you get out just dry off dressing gown on and beck to the room... love it! The spa itself isn't huge (which is common in these places) but big enough with one part roped off for those who want to do lengths and the other bit just to float around in. The Jacuzzi was great really hot as well and there is a steam room and a sauna. So everything you would expect. We had dinner on the Country Kitchen which is a carvery and very good it was as well, there was a salad bar where you could help yourself and surprisingly it included prawns which you don't usually get a chance to help yourself too!... The meat on the carvery was very good (I had Turkey & Pork) and the vegetables were really good quality with all sorts on offer.. The breakfast again was excellent with everything you would expect and all fresh and very attentive staff who were very quick to bring coffee and toast. So all in all a great break staff really friendly and helpful and it only cost 125 for the two of us including the carvery excellent value as far as I'm concerned I would recommend this hotel and i will be back

Stayed here with my mum for my grandmother's 80th birthday in November. We stayed 2 nights and on the 2nd day had a group spa day booked for 9 people. When we checked in the last behind the desk (Melissa?) Was wonderful. She was so friendly and helpful, checked us in and asked if we wanted to use the spa and what our plans were, really lovely lady! We had a twin room which was huge. 2 big double beds and plenty of space which was brilliant. The first night we ate in the oak room, it was lovely. Considering it's fine dining and genuinely really lovely food it was only just over £30 each and we were able to book the table that afternoon. On the second day our spa treat started at lunchtime in the country kitchen carvery -which I have to admit was a slight downside, only because you don't really want to eat something so heavy and then go swimming and for a massage but the only other option was afternoon tea from 4.30, a bit late as we were out for dinner that evening. But the food was very nice and the service was prompt. The spa itself was wonderful, I had a back, neck and shoulder massage which was lovely, again just a small downside was that the massage table is heated and during a 30 minute massage is actually a little too warm for most people's liking (group concesus). The spa was lovely and clean and welcoming, really enjoyed the day, as did the rest of the group. During our stay there were 2 events/parties in the conservatory area which was right by our room so we were initially a little concerned about the noise but we couldn't hear a thing, we were only about 6 doors down the corridor away from it so this was a real plus for us! I have stayed at moor hall before and will again. The only other tiny thing is that the rooms on the furthest side of the hotel are a bit tired in their decor but still perfectly fine and comfortable and I'm probably moaning about nothing, after all I still gave 5 stars! Fabulous setting for the hotel in a quiet and peaceful location. Room a bit small, but comfortable. Spa changing room dirty on arrival. Night manager was noisy in the early hours, waking a few of us up. Expensive for what we had. Lunch, a treatment each, 3 course Dinner for 2 with bottle of wine, overnight stay and breakfast, all for £450. Could've had a long weekend abroad for that!! Having said that, the food for both lunch and dinner, was superb. Drinks in the bar were also expensive. Certainly a lovely place to stay, but our experience on this occasion, wasn't that good, sadly.

As the title suggests, there's absolutely nothing I could fault with my stay here. We arrived quite late on Friday, around half past five, and we had a dinner reservation in the Oak Room for 19:15. We were concerned that we wouldn't have enough time to use the spa facilities as we were only there for the one night and the lady on reception was so helpful and pushed the booking back to 20:45. The spa was really nice, it's got a nice sized pool with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The only tiny issues I could find is that we could only get one lounge chair and one normal chair (which was fine as we didn't use them anyway) and the ladies changing room shower was a little grubby but that's to be expected for a public shower. Dinner in the Oak Room was absolutely amazing, it'll go down as one of my top five best meals I've ever had! I started with the cauliflower soup, duck breast as a main and the lemon parfait for dessert, with a bottle of red wine to share. The portions looked small but they were so filling and our glasses were never empty. The staff were so polite and friendly, one customer was getting irate due to a problem with the deposit for their table but the staff kept calm and resolved the situation quickly meaning it didn't affect our visit. The room was really nice, we had a superior room so had robes, fruit, chocolates, a Bluetooth speaker etc. The bed was so comfy and the overall decor was nice. Breakfast was good although there was only one choice of eggs, but there was plenty of selection. We had a massage on our last day (mine was done by Laura who was really friendly) and it was so relaxing. I accidentally forgot to pay for my massage as we had checked out by this point and only realised on the way home. When I spoke to the woman on reception at the spa she was so forgiving and chatty when I was really embarrassed about forgetting. All of the staff were amazing, so helpful and polite, nothing was ever too much trouble. Overall we were really impressed with our stay and wouldn't hesitate to come again!

I came here for afternoon tea for a 70th birthday, with 6 adults and 2 children. It was very nice and really enjoyable. I thought that it would have been easy to finish all the sandwiches and cakes but we couldn't and so asked for takeaway boxes for the cakes which they gladly provided. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only issue would be that if you plan to visit here, i would say a maximum of 4 adults as the tables are really designed for any more.

We stay here annually and like many aspects of the hotel. This year we ask for a room near the pool but although we weren't given one the reasons for it made effect sense and we loved the room we had on the first floor. I am very grateful to the reception Manager for thinking it though and giving us room, we think, 189! After dark it was magical ... there was a light behind a tree and the shadows of the branches on the wall was the best lullaby ever, Please may we have that room again. (Through the conservatory - first floor, last on the right.) There are still some shortcomings with staff and service but much better than in the past.

Would you like to say what a wonderful time we had when we visited last Wednesday 08.11.17 for a meal in the Oak room. The food was fabulous and the staff very attentive would like to add what wonderful waiting staff there is especially Vicky and how Mile made our night so very relaxed and arranging for us to finish our drinks in the snug. it was very romantic and made our date night.

We had our wedding at moor hall this october. From start to finish the staff at moor hall made us feel welcome and were on hand to answer any questions we had.Sam the wedding co ordinator is great. Really friendly and so helpful she couldnt so enough to help me and my wife during the planning of the wedding ?? she is a credit to the company. On the day Hugh ran things he is a very nice gentleman and couldnt do enough for us and our family on the day. The day went like clock work and we couldnt have wished for a more perfect wedding. Beautiful grounds, beautiful venue, beautiful bedrooms and spa, beautiful food. Thank you so much to all the staff. Love Andy and Jo Russell. X

Had a great night. Food and service was excellent nothing was to much trouble staff where well presented. Entertainment was excellent. Thank you to pedro who helped organise our tickets for the event will certainly come again.

Spent two nights at this lovely hotel and couldn't fault a thing about our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was by far the best I've had in a hotel. The bar and common areas are very relaxing with many interesting features. Also a big plus is the electric vehicle charging points in the hotel car park.

Spent one night here and was quit impressed with the whole set up. We called the hotel en route to see if there was an option to upgrade but sadly the hotel was full. The manager called us back and let us know our room was ready and we checked in 3 hours early allowing us full use of the spa. The hotel was busy but the spa was very good. A 30 minute massage followed which was heavenly. Evening meal buffet style was again good and the staff excellent. The bar was also very nicely laid out and atmospheric. The hotel room was comfy but to be honest I would have preferred to have upgraded to a larger room but this was not possible. The hotel has some interesting grounds which we took advantage of. All in all a very nice stay.

This is a really fine building set in its own grounds. We stayed as it was close to Thomas Tank World. at Drayton Manor - about 15mins drive. We had two rooms. Both large and clean but had a bit of a musty smell. The rooms are fine though. Had a carvery dinner in the restaurant. It was fine. The chef was reluctant to do my wife's vegetarian dish as he was "too busy". Hers came after we had all finished. The waitress though was lovely. The bar in the evening is busy. Lots of "office bonding sessions" at the hotel. Quite noisy. The leisure centre is very nice and the pool excellent. All in all, there was nothing wrong with this hotel and quite a lot is good.

What a lovely place. Hidden away in the city. Generous room size, usual room refinements. The bed was very comfy & fresh. There is also a golf course & a spa.. we ate in the Oak restaurant the food was a la cart reasonabley priced & very nice. Finished off with a beer in the bar. Great place , you would never know you are in the city.

We have booked ‘The Snug' in a couple of weeks time for a baby shower so we thought we'd check the afternoon tea. It's a lovely venue steeped in history. The afternoon tea was great. We had a number of top ups of tea for no cost. The best part of the afternoon was the service from Angie and Vicky. They couldn't do enough for us. We are looking forward to coming back for the baby shower we have planned in a few weeks. Thank you ladies :)

Last minute half term trip with two 8 year olds. Slight error led to us being given a twin bed room for four. Hotel was full. Great staff on reception and manager accepted the error, gave us a discount and got an extra 'z' bed in. It worked. Not ideal but the friendly helpful team smoothed it all out. Many a five star hotel could learn from team. All weekend everyone helpful. Kids loved the pool, breakfast looked like an ordinary buffet but tasted really good. Basic restaurant was average. More expensive one was very good. Bar prices seemed average, not of concern to us. Lots of weddings going on, but all worked well.

A lovely day was had by all. A lovely location for a wedding. Great food, stunning grounds and the venue helped make the day. The only criticism would be the bar prices..but I won't let that spoil the day.

We would just like to thank moor hall for making our wedding day so magical . Every single member of staff performed flawlessly but Hue was exceptional from start to finish .Magical venue wonderfull staff thank you so very much from Mr &Mrs platt .

Stayed overnight with family of 4. Rooms was average and dated. Rooms could have had a small fridge and bottle water to use to fill the kettle, rather than having to use bathroom tap water. Drinks were overpriced and prices were not clearly stated. E.g When asked for a soft drink to accompany dinner. We were offered pint size glasses and no other glass size choice. At the end of the meal for 4 people. The bill was £17 something for 3 cokes and 1 J20 !!!!! Dinner was included in the package that we purchased. We were told that the pint sizes were priced as two drinks each. However this was not explained to use prior to ordering. Carvery meal sizes were very generous. However the Yorkshire puddings were like eating damp cardboard. The roast potatoes were either too hard or too soggy. Pudding was excellent which was chocolate brownies and custard. Stayed in rooms 2 and 3. The other guests were extremely noisey. Playing music and singing till after 1am. The boiler switching on and off all night sounded like a train. Very disturbing!!! Breakfast was bland. Which we had to wait for. Considering it was buffet style.The poor bacon was border line raw. Waitresses were very pleasant. Spa was ok a bit smaller than expected. Not sure I would pay to return. No wow factor. Although nice and clean outside surroundings.

Stayed a number of times on business. Rooms quaint, everything you need. Facilities are good, enjoyed the pool. Restaurant serves good tasty food with exceptional service. Will definitely be returning.

Had to wait for the room to be ready, when it was the robes had to be replaced as 1 had makeup on stains on it and the other had dirty tissues in the pocket. We came back from the spa made a cup of tea in the room and the little milk pots were off so curdled in the cup. When did did get through to reception they dealt with the problems straight away but the fact we had to ring twice with complaints was a bit disappointing. Overall the staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast and dinner was amazing so ended up leaving happy.

Having checked the website it states on the main bedroom page that there are toiletries in the bedrooms. We had none and I asked for some at reception and they said that they were only provided in the superior rooms. No milk was provided in our room and we had to get some from another guest. The bathroom was not clean - there were hairs on the sink there - obviously had not been cleaned properly. We had asked for a twin room and it had been made up as a double. They changed it but only after an hour of us being there. Considering this a supposedly a 4star hotel we were not happy with this level of service. As a group we had made 27 bookings for dinner bed and breakfast - a substantial number. Many of us had similar issues with the above.

When arriving at Moor Hall hotel for our hen party afternoon tea, we were kindly greeted by Angie. She guided us to our table and then took our orders for tea and coffee. This arrived with wonderful tiered stands of sandwiches and cakes. What a lovely selection!! Angie then arrived with a beautiful chocolate mousse cake for the bride to be with lovely chocolate writing and gave her best wishes to the bride to be. We couldn't eat all of the cakes so we were given boxes to bring the cakes home with us. Thank you all for a lovely hen party afternoon tea.

Stayed in the Suite here for a few nights. Everything was clean and tidy, room service was speedy and friendly. The bathroom was modern, with a big whirlpool tub as well as a large shower. There was even a small balcony. It was quiet during our stay when we were sleeping. The food was very well priced, although the drinks were a little pricey. The sous chef, Bobby, made our stay even better! He was so friendly and we had a great time devouring all of his incredible meals. He is a true asset to this hotel! Breakfast buffet was superb with plenty of options, both cooked and uncooked with friendly service. They were fully booked for treatments during our stay but offered to let us know if they had any cancellations. One of us did manage to get a last minute massage in the late evening of our final night staying, and that was professional and relaxing. The swimming pool was smaller than we expected and with 4 people already doing lengths, it was difficult to do our own, especially being faster swimmers. The steam room and sauna were cosy, barely room for 4 people in each. Same with the Jacuzzi. There are plenty of loungers around the poolside though and had towels for us to use. We borrowed a DVD player but found their selection of films to be rather dated and lacking in Blockbuster options. Would definitely stay again, perhaps for one of the Murder Mystery events we saw advertised.

A very pleasant area to stay, very quite and relaxing. Great sausage with the breakfasts. Rooms are clean and well looked after. ask for a room on the lower floor as no lift disturbance during the night. beds are really comfortable.

The staff were lovely and the first impression from the gorgeous grounds and impressive building is great. However the decor is old fashioned, frumpy and although clean, dated. The room was very badly laid out, extremely hot even with radiator of and window open. The shower was tiny and seriously lacking in any pressure. The ancient hair dryer was atrocious. The breakfast was poor - solid 'poached eggs' .

The second time we have stayed here. The first a few years ago, we had a very nice comfortable bedroom, an excellent dinner in The Oak restaurant and a very poor breakfast. This time we had a poor room which had some sort of extract equipment running in the ceiling space all night. The result inevitably was that we hardly slept at all. The Oak restaurant was closed - Sunday - so we ate in the Carvery which was OK. The breakfast this time was very good. One thing I did notice which was very good, was the fact that the chef came out every so often to replenish the fried egg tray and he took away all the unused ones before they solidified. This was the problem last time we stayed ! So a big improvement here. When we commented on the poor night's sleep when we payed the bill, an apology was forthcoming, but no suggestion of a credit to our account. Pity.

We booked a table in the Oak Room. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. The menu had an excellent range of starters, mains and sweets. The food was well presented and flavoursome. I chose the pork belly and this was accompanied by mashed potato, green beans and broccoli. The vegetables still had plenty of crunch. The service was swift but not rushed and the staff were very helpful. We felt this was good value and will certainly return.

The first person we met was from the banqueting department her name is Georgia, an incredibly helpful young lady who certainly goes the extra mile and then some she is an absolute star and made sure that the function room was perfect. She ensured that those guests who were staying overnight were accommodated superbly. We were introduced to Jamie, our Duty manager for the night and he to more than went the extra mile to ensure that the food was superb and was served with a smile promptly and efficiently. The whole evening went like a dream and the customer care we received was second to none, I can't recommend it enough we were treated like royalty by all of the wonderful and friendly staff.

I'd say the accommodation, rooms and grounds where fabulous but what I felt let my spa stay down were the facilities (or lack of) in the spa, the evening meal and the breakfast. The evening meal was a carvery and for our allocated seating time this as all dried up, minimal or just looked unappealing. And breakfast was no better.

I have stayed here several times with my children. The rooms are spacious and you can arrange for interconnecting rooms if needed. The public rooms are pleasant and the range and quality of food is excellent. The spacious grounds are ideal for kids to run around in and burn off energy. The property is well-located for visiting the region.

My friend and I stayed here Thai last weekend which was extremely busy. There appeared to be several weddings and several parties and yet the service was still superb, particularly from Angie. This hotel really knows how to juggle a lot of people. We had a delightful afternoon tea which we opted to alter to satisfy our more savoury tastes and were able to have three layers consisting of two savoury layers and one layer of scones which was sheer heaven. The spa facilities were superb and we each enjoyed lovely facials and massages and there's nothing better than lounging by the pool! The location was very picturesque and all in all this was a cracking weekend. The only criticism was that the room service we ordered was slightly cold but that eventually was taken care of and reheated. It would be nice if more hotels offered better facilities for twin rooms instead of the usual doubles only but aside from that it was excellent.

Immaculate hotel in beautiful surroundings with friendly staff! A well deserved break that me and my husband needed but was made an outstanding visit by all staff who were extremely courteous. Thank you we will return.

I messed up my booking and booked the wrong date! The hotel did everything to help us out. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Modern bathroom and very english hotel style room. I found it charging but others may say dated. Breakfast was great and our evening meal was literally the best thing I have ever eaten. Nice spa area and grounds. Cant wait to stay again one day.

Stayed overnight and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Room excellent, carvery dinner food good, and staff very friendly. Superb breakfast. Would definitely go back and would recommend it. Enjoyed a game of golf on the adjoining course .

Have stayed here a few times over the past 9 months. I always find it friendly and comfortable, with a great breakfast. Rooms are large and well kitted out. Great location, easy parking and good value.

We recently stayed for a one night stay at Moor Hall in celebration of our wedding anniversary and have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed it there. Upon arrival, all the staff were friendly and made the effort to greet us and check to see if we were okay. The reception staff were lovely and throughly explained all the use of facilities to us and it was clear that from the beginning they would do anything to make our stay special. I believe the receptionist we spoke to was called Kelsie and she was very approachable and friendly. A very good first impression for us. The hotel room was clean, tidy and posh. It had a good selection of drink options and little snacks. The information pack was clear and explained all we needed to know about the hotel and its features which was very useful. The room service menu looked superb, however we didn't use this service. Shortly after checking into the room, a member of staff knocked our door with a anniversary card and gift of a cake complimentary of the hotel. We were very surprised by this and thought it was so lovely and kind of them. After getting comfortable in the room, we then had a walk around the gardens. The main garden was well kept and looked lovely in bloom. We had a walk around the secret garden which was great for autumnal photographs. We then sat looking through a window at the gardens whilst enjoying a drink at the scenery. The hotel itself is very clean and picturesque. As part of our package deal, we had pre booked a dinner at the country kitchen for a carvery. Once again, we were greeted by pleasant staff and they would really go out there way to ensure we were happy. We enjoyed a buffet style starter, then a lovely and fresh carvery followed by a buffet style dessert. We felt it was really good value and didn't realise the starter and pudding came as part of our pre paid meal so was more then we expected. The food was fresh and there was plenty to choose from, the waiter even followed it up with tea and coffee for us. Then once again, as a complimentary gift from the chef, the waiter came over with a another anniversary gift of a cake and chocolate message saying "happy anniversary". It really did add to our dining experience and made us feel really special. After our meal we went and sat on the Terrence which was well lit and made the gardens look beautiful. On our way back to the hotel room, we got talking to member of staff called Pat. She was so friendly and chatty and once again made sure that we were okay and satisfied. She took the opportunity to talk to us about our stay, anniversary and the fact that I was pregnant. She was so lovely to talk to that she made us feel like we had known her for years. After talking about the baby, she then said that she would like to give us a gift for the baby from the hotel. Once again, we were totally surprised and really didn't expect anything. She came back with a official Moor Hall teddy bear for the baby as a gift for us to remember our staff. We just felt that this was so kind of her and she went above and beyond for us. She really didn't have to be so generous and kind, but we were truely grateful and think she should be acknowledged. We will never forget her, her friendliness and generosity. We then went back to our hotel room, enjoyed the use of the air con and television. At 7 months pregnant, I haven't been able to have a full nights sleep for a while, but I can honestly say that was the best nights sleep I had had in a long time. The bed was so comfortable and warm. The following morning, we enjoyed the breakfast once again in the country kitchen. The staff were once again full of smiles and checking if there was anything they could do for us. The breakfast had a range of lovely food that there was almost too much to choose from. It was once again all fresh and well presented. Again we felt it was very good value for money as it was pre paid when we booked, however we didn't expect there to be so much choice. After breakfast, we went to enjoy the spa facilities. The pool area and changing rooms were clean and well equipped. The pool was a nice size, warm and had nice views of the garden. On our way out of the spa, my husband got talking to a member of staff who was more than happy to show him around the hotel and explain it's history. She took him into the different rooms and made the hotel really accessible for him to look at and enjoy, whilst I stayed in the bar area. My husband said that she was very informative and that he had learnt a lot from there brief tour of the building. Unfortunately he couldn't remember her name, but said that she worked answering emails. Once again, she was full of smiles, happy to help and went above and beyond to make our experience a nice one. Unfortunately it was then time for us to check out which we really didn't want to do. The hotel staff had made us feel so welcome during our staff and really did treat us like a king and queen. We would have happily stayed another night or two. Our anniversary this year was definitely one to remember and can honestly say it was the best hotel experience we have had. We just wanted to take the opportunity to thank the staff and hotel for all the did for us. We wished we could remember all of the staff members names to thank them individually and make sure they are acknowledged for there hard work. They are real assets to the hotel. Moor Hall Hotel got a massive 10/10 from us and we will happily stay here again in the future.

I booked a Swedish massage for a treat on my day off (£75). I had been to Moor Hall to stay overnight and to dine on many occasions and had had enjoyable experiences in this beautiful hotel with delightful gardens. However yesterday was dreadful! I arrived to a full car park and spent 15 minutes searching for a spot - I was then told to park in the staff car park - again no spaces so I parked in front of another car and left a note on the front of the car I then arrived at the spa - I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and then- no smile - no welcome simply said sign in. The masseuse was very pleasant and the massage was ok yet no calm music no candles and the towel had stains on it. Would I go again? Not a chance I feel like I have been robbed of £75.

Absolutely atrocious attitude of a female member of waiting staff and the kitchen to a conference colleague with a dietary requirement (vegan). My colleague requested a hot meal in advance of attending a course at the hotel. Yet come lunch time this member of waiting staff was incredibly rude and said why would she give a hot meal to someone who eats only fruit and salad?! Has she never heard of a bean chilli, a spinach and chick pea curry, soup, pasta or even a jacket and baked beans?! And that would be if the kitchen lacked any imagination or forward planning whatsoever. Shocked to see such an attitude in 2017- the waitress truly embarrassed my colleague in front of all the diners and even came back out to ask "is a tomato ok?". Either sarcasm or complete and utter ignorance. Amazed that a hotel in this day and age cannot even speak politely to those with dietary requirements or allergies.

My wife and I have been staying here for over 17 years . Each and every time the service , room , and food are always outstanding . Even though we have seen a number of staff changes over the years , their team members are always offer the highest standards of service . The rooms are spotless , with the most comfortable beds .

As my mum has had a bad few years with her own illnesses and family bereavements, my father decided to spoil her, along with myself (daughter) and daughter in law for a Spa weekend. This cost £165 per person and included 2 x 25 minute treatments, use of the Spa facilities, overnight stay in separate rooms, dinner to the value of £30 each and breakfast the next day. We met at the bar to have lunch, there was a large group of men there for a private function, who were loud, brash and swearing a lot! Lunch itself was average. We were too early to check in (3pm which seems awfully late), but the Spa did let us in an hour early. I asked for robes and slippers and were told these were not provided but a towel (small!) was given, no-one showed us around and the Spa, and as the layout is very disjointed it was a struggle to find the rooms. You can hear the bar below in the chill out room. The swimming area has a weird carpeted area that was dirty, dead flies on the floor and used water cups lying around. We saw lots of people with robes and slippers so went back to reception and asked again (different person who gave them to us). The treatments were nice but felt rushed. A hard sell to try and purchase the lotions with their recommendations. No short relax after a massage, went straight into the next treatment and then made to feel you had to leave the room quickly. Used towels, robes and slippers are strewn all over the changing room benches and floors as there is nowhere else to put them. The evening meal was very tasty, but portions were small and £30 limit per person didn't go very far! The staff in the dining room were all very pleasant. The 3 rooms were very different, I was in room 10 on the ground floor, a single bed in a dated room, but the bathroom was new and clean. The window was warped and didn't close and this did concern me from a safety aspect, on the ground floor, on my own!! The other two rooms (131 and 143) were slightly bigger, one had air con out of the 3 rooms, only one room had a robe in out of the 3, but unfortunately both these rooms were very noisy at night and seemed to have a constant stream of people walking past. This did not call for a good, relaxing nights sleep! The breakfast the next morning was average. Overall a disappointing stay considering this cost us in excess of £600 for one night, at this stage I wouldn't recommend the hotel or the Spa :-(

We had the Sunday carvery which was very nice. We had drinks outside first in a beautiful setting. The food was good with good choices of meat,veg and vegetarian and the staff were very nice and helpful.

My wife and I booked a two night stay to make up for having to return early from Florida due to hurricane Irma. The hotel is very impressive in appearance and the staff courteous, welcoming and efficient. Our room (we were upgraded to a Junior Suite) was luxurious, very spacious with a king size four-poster, spa bath and shower. The spa facilities are good, with a decent-size pool, steam room and sauna. Spa treatments are very popular but my wife managed a treatment on the morning we checked-out. Breakfast was excellent with just about everything you could think of well presented and good quality. The restaurant and carvery were also excellent. The carvery was particularly good value. Overall this was a great couple of days and somewhere we would definitely come back to.

Hotel - beautiful, setting - outstanding, staff - excellent, Room - letdown We booked this for a couple of days stay and must admit the setting, location and hotel itself are outstanding. The only thing that let the stay down was the room itself. Tea making facilities in the room - Very cheap kettle left on a tray Bathroom - Needs to be updated - shower run from the bath taps - very poor water pressure Door to bathroom - cheap handles and no lock Cleanliness of the room - bedding had dirty mark on it the first day we arrived and this was not changed for our second day Menu's in bar - all sticky and could have done with being replaced with new pages as very tatty and well worn

On a business trip from New Zealand, was booked in at Moor for 10 nights... let's just say we were sad to leave because service throughout was warm, caring and yet professional. It is quite obvious that the same standard of excellence is carried through all the various parts of the hotel... from Reception to all three eating areas and the bar lounge. The AA restaurant is fantastic and a real treat.

Leonard Cheshire Disability, Greenacres, held a gala at Moor hall for out 100 year anniversary, we started planning 12 months ago and have had nothing but support the whole time, the event itself was seamless thanks to the team, Karl & Jamie an the ladies who helped set the room up with us in the morning. Georgia & Joanne were great support, thank you again, guys and we will be booking our next event with you!!

Stayed for two nights. Nice building, great staff who were all really helpful, a clean comfortable room in which everything worked. There was plenty of storage in the room & it was very quiet. Ate in both the bar & the carvery but not the restaurant, which was a tad expensive. Food was nicely prepared, tasty & service was quick enough. Breakfast had a wide range of choices & if you want a full English the scrambled or poached eggs are cooked to order. In addition I used the pool & sauna. Staff again helpful & facilities were good, pool was at a comfortable temperature & almost empty so fine for swimming lengths. The hotel was very busy when I was there & sometimes there were too many small kids in the bar, but perhaps I'm a grumpy old man, but if the kids weren't there it wood have got an excellent. Would definitely use again.

What a delightful hotel full of character and very welcoming. Jenny and JR were extremely friendly and served us a magnificent breakfast. Room was really good and by booking direct we were upgraded. Well done Moir Hall.

My wife and I have just spent a weekend break to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, we had a wonderful time,On Saturday evening we had a Three course carvery meal with plenty of choice for everyone, Chantel was our waitress for the evening and made us feel very welcome and gave excellent service,the hotel's breakfast was also excellent.On Sunday the day of our Anniversary we booked a table for 15 for the family to join us,everyone was very impressed with the service and quality of the food we had a wonderful day with the help of Julian and the other members of staff.Our room was very clean and comfortable with everything you require.Thank you to all the staff that made our day special. best regards Paul & Millicent Miller

Visited the Country Kitchen Carvery at Moor Hall for my grandads 70th Birthday. The staff were very helpful in decorating the table and taking care of our cake. We were seated at a large table in a room separate from the main dining area which was great for us as a group of 14 who were quite loud, we knew we weren't disturbing any other diners. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend for a special birthday!

Big thank you to Pedro and his team for making my Dad's surprise party perfect. Nothing was too much trouble ,staff attentive and food was great. He had a wonderful time and will remember for along time. Thanks again.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea yesterday for my daughter's pre-birthday and we were very well looked after by Angie. It was nice to return to where I got married 32 years ago and to see the different changes.

Me and my husband got married at Moor Hall Hotel bank holiday weekend. I arrived on the Saturday afternoon and from then on the service was out of this world. From start to finish on the day of the wedding everything was perfect. The venue was beautiful, the gardens looked so well kept and all the guests complemented on how nice the food was. We had a lot of guests stay over night on the Sunday and again they all complimented on all the facilities and how lovely the staff were. A massive acknowledgment to Jamie, he made sure our day went perfectly. He was so friendly and he made us feel so special on our big day. He is an absolute credit to Moor Hall. I honestly cannot fault this venue our wedding day was absolutely perfect and would recommend to anybody looking at getting married here. The only sad thing was it had to end! We will be returning to Moor Hall for our first wedding anniversary! I cannot fault this venue. All the boxes were ticked!

Arrived from an early Monday morning train and I was welcomed to check in by the General Manager, Sam Goss. This set the tone for the stay in a lovely hotel that offered a great service. The girls on the desk were always so welcoming, the ladies in the Country Kitchen so attentive, the simple things really making a difference! The stay was topped off by a fantastic evening involving a Whisky experience with Hugh Boyd and his team, followed by a delicious tasting menu. Ps. The in room welcome amenities really were a brilliant touch.

We had not know of this hotel before, but were looking for something a little more stylish close to Walsall, to visit our parents. We saw a really good offer on line. It included two nights stay, first nights evening meal and two breakfasts, plus use of spa facilities. Not knowing the area very well we relied on the satnav, which wanted us to use the toll road, this would have cost £5.50 each way. We knew that the A5 rans parallel, so continued along A5. When we got closer to Sutton Coalfield we passed the exit to toll, which would have probably been quicker if we had been in a rush. We travelled along A38 using satnav to. We turn left off at the hotel sign. (The satnav advises take next left) but the turning we had taken took us along a road though beautiful golf course. Arriving at hotel we turned right into carpark. If this one is full carry on along side of building to rear carpark. You can enter hotel from both carparks. The reception staff where so welcoming and advised us we had had a room upgrade, told us information on dinning and direction to our room. As we walked through more staff offered us help and directions to our room. The spacious suit was beautiful. It was designed to suit disabled or able bodied like ourselved. Massive beds making superking size, each with own duvet. Two easy chairs and side table. There was also fridge, tv, radio, wardrobe with two white dressing gowns and slippers for our use. Kettle and an abundance of complimentary tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, biscuits, milk, sugars and not to forget orange and mint chocolates. The shower room was massive, again with complimentary toiletries, As you can probably tell we were impressed. The hotel just kept giving. The evening meal in the Country Kitchen restaurant was a carvery meal, it was delicious. The staff where so polite, attentive and funny. How lovely. The conservatory to the rear is a tranquil place to sit and the entrance to the gardens and woodland. This is where we met Carl the gardener, he told us a little hotel history and discussed the gardens and flowers. He made us very welcome and aware of how much he loved his job. We didn't have time during our two night stay to use spar, so will definitely be booking a return visit. Now a days manners are forgotten and the moto, that the customer is always right dosn't exist. Not at this hotel. We received nothing but polite, attentive, courteous,caring, attention from all of the staff. It was like stepping back in time. Wonderful! Would highly reccommend.

I have tried to book afternoon tea vouchers for an important family birthday. So I rang, made the arrangements and informed that the vouchers would be sent. I then waited and waited made a second call.. to be informed that they would be sent through... they were except the staff member sent the same vouches through twice. Last year I book a spa treat for my Mom - guess what the spa called on the day and cancelled the booking. Two years ago I booked a party of 25 for sunday lunch to celebrate a a family birthday - it was a disaster. My advice to anyone booking an event at this hotel - is to cancel it and book somewhere else - at every level there is incompetent mis-communication.

It is the second time that Mom and I have stayed at Moor Hall and both times have exceeded expectations. The staff were all so friendly (reception, spa and restaurant) and helpful and we could not have had a better celebration for my Mom's 70th birthday.

We went to celebrate my dad's 80 birthday. The service was excellent especially by Angie . She made sure we were looked after . The Afternoon tea was lovely but if you are a ceolaic and need a gluten free option be warned the sandwiches were lovely but the cakes which we all go for on a afternoon tea .... was only 2 pieces of chocolate shortcake and 2 chocolate cookies which was very disappointing they could have made more effort . However the 1 handmade scone with clotted cream & jam was lovely . Overall though it was a great afternoon out !

Wife and I had a lovely 1 night stay at the hotel. Friendly staff, nice standard room, comfy bed, powerful shower, TV worked well, pool was clean and nice,breakfast was lovely. Would highly recommend for a couples night away. We didn't stay for dinner but a short drive away we went out for dinner and to the cinema. Would definitely stay again, Thank you

Thanks to really helpful staff that we got here: original booking was for July and was meant to be unamendable, but when husband's work made that impossible, the staff were more than welcoming changing us to this weekend, even giving us a choice in fact. Many thanks to Katie! Enjoyed the spa - small but very clean and well maintained (though the Jacuzzi was out of order.) Very pretty terrace area which must be a lovely place to sit on a sunnier day. Interesting building with lots of little rooms - built with brewing fortune in late 1800s. Good choice of dinner in the carvery and a substantial breakfast - locally sourced food, including honey, was a plus. Very easy to get to from the motorway, though actually its more in the area of Mere Green than Four Oaks if you are using a map rather than GPS! Now we have located it, we will definitely be there again.

We had a lovely stay with lovely rooms. Angie in the lounge bar was great at looking after us whilst having our afternoon tea on the terrace. Food was lovely and we'll presented. Angie even arranged a cake with a candle and a decorated plate and had 2 more of the team join her to sing happy birthday. Would definitely stay again as really enjoyed using the pool and facilities and the evening meals were lovely.

We spent a night here recently and thought that the staff were all very friendly and helpful which was great. We had a standard room which was comfortable with plenty of space. When we arrived, we could hear people talking in a room close by and the sound of someone taking a shower. We were apprehensive that we would be disturbed by noise overnight, but in fact it was quiet despite poor sound proofing. Some toiletries would have been nice, though there was a soap dispenser on the wall in the shower. There was air conditioning, tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was served in the country kitchen and was good - fruit, yoghurt, granola, cereals, juices with toast, croissants and a full cooked option if wanted. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Went there on a groupon deal same menu for all diners. The food was excellent the service top draw. It's decor is old fashioned but it adds to the night out you can hold a conversation overlooks the golf course. Had drinks on the terrace beforehand. Not a place for children a place for grown ups who enjoy good food and conversation. Well worth a visit.

A lovely afternoon tea. There were a full range of cakes and sandwiches (egg, smoked salmon, ham, beef) all were really fresh and had lots of filling. We had a cold fizzy glass of prosecco and English breakfast tea. We sat outside in the sun and it was lovely and relaxed.

This was a business trip and my colleague booked the hotel for me. Whilst it is not inexpensive the rooms were more like a Motel room. The hotel obviously caters for large weddings and functions - When I stayed Hallmark were hosting some type of event. It lacks personal service. I did not try the restaurant during my 4 night stay as I could only imagine the type of food I was going to get from the "mass catering" style of the place. Breakfast was interesting, I came down late about 9am and everything was very tired looking it has been out since 6am. I asked if the kitchen could cook me a fresh egg and I was amazed when the waitress actually walked across the small breakfast area carrying it on a spatular before dumping the egg on my plate. Seriously words failed me. I would say if you have to stay for one night its ok but don't expect anything more than very average and you will not be disappointed.

Stayed here recently to celebrate my birthday, my husband had booked a spa package. Our allocated room was on the ground floor and overlooking the car park, it was also quite dark. We did ask if we could be moved but the hotel was full due to 2 weddings so we accepted it. A plate with chocolates and a piped message of Happy Birthday and a card was in the room which I thought was a nice touch. Breakfast is chaotic and held in a very small area. Service was slow and we had to dodge the waitresses who were too few and charging around with trays etc. There is an ample selection of foods. We ate both nights in the Oak Room, the food was very good and nicely presented but the room lacks atmosphere and the staff are not consistently attentive. We were left to pour our own wine whilst staff fawned over 1 particular set of diners, so not the kind of service I would have expected. We also used the bar area. The menu boasted of a range of spirits including rum but there was only 1 rum available out of a choice of 3 or 4. The bar in general did not seem to be very well stocked and drinks are expensive. We had treatments in the spa which were very well carried out and value for money. The pool area is not the largest and it was very busy at times, but the water was warm. There is a sauna and steam room as well. Overall this was a nice weekend but slightly let down by breakfast experience and general service.

We had an over night stay on a Groupon voucher never been to Moor Hall Hotel before but would definitely go back due to the wonderful staff especially Lorenzo the chef @ breakfast & Jen one of waitresses.The buffet was constantly being topped up with hot freshly cooned quality food especially the sausages & eggs.The service we got was second to none we made to feel very welcomed.The hotel itself was a mix of old & new with tasteful furnishings,ample car parking, relaxing spa facility,decent size bedroom all very clean.All the staff were very polite & professional thank you all for making our stay a memorable occasion especially Lorenzo's great sense of humour.

We booked direct with Moor Hall for a 2 night stay and were ok with standard double room Saturday night and change into a superior double for Sunday night. The hotel was to capacity as several functions were booked for this particular Saturday night. Having previously stayed in this superb hotel this was our top choice for our anniversary get away and happy to move rooms. Saturday evening was spent in the Country Kitchen enjoying excellence food and service that was exceptional from Andy, who was spot on and attentive. The pool and spa always a favourite of ours and as before was well maintained and enjoyable. Unfortunately upon returning to our room we noticed standards were not quite as they should have been. This had not been cleaned. Karl the night manager took care of these issues, bed changed and cleaned and more. Felling a bit disappointed, Karl understood this and the next day excelled himself and arranged our second night stay in the honeymoon suite. This completely turned out Anniversary weekend around. room 23, not the best, room 155 - awesome. Looking forward to our next stay. Thanks to Karl and Andy for making our weekend.

Overall a very good stay at Moor Hall! Loved the personalised touches to our rooms and the genuine sense of hospitality displayed by the team. Clearly the GM Sam and his right hand man Hugh know what good hospitality it's all about. We stayed for a conference, but would love to come back in the future on leisure. Great selection of whiskey by the way!! Keep up the great work.

I received a voucher for a Sunday night stay that included use of the spa, a treatment, carvery evening meal and breakfast the following day. It was excellent value for money. I felt like I had been away for a longer holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful; we were made to feel welcome from the second we checked in. The food was delicious and we enjoyed a walk around the grounds (between the heavy rain showers!). My only criticism would be the mattress was quite soft and the pillows were very firm which isn't for everyone. Overall it was a great stay and I'd love to return one day.

Using a voucher from Living Social I treated my wife to an overnight stay as part of her Birthday celebrations.The booking process and check in was very efficient as I didnt need to show my voucher and the receptionist was very helpful. The room was in the original hotel building and not in the newer extension so there was no view from our room other than onto a window opposite but notwithstanding that it was a good size and well decorated with all the usual equipment expected including a lovely large comfortable armchair ( not the usual small and uncomfortable type). The bathroom had had a refurb and it was really nice particularly the shower. We used the leisure facilities which were really nice with a good sized pool and a jacuzzi and steam room that operated as they should and in the latter case ; lots of hot steam.The evening meal was included in the deal and was in the Country Kitchen restaurant- very nice staff and the 3 course meal was good.I started with the Hors doeuvre and my wife the soup which she said was delicious.The only main course was the carvery which was excellent followed by a choice of cold desserts which all looked tempting.Our only slight issue was the bread roll which was very hard but was replaced immediately. Breakfast was also good with all that you might expect but additional options were available for a supplement- again the staff were all very nice and efficient.i should add the toast was made using thick bread which was toasted to perfection - not seen that before ! My wife thought her surprise present very enjoyable and so did I

Fantastic hotel, and amazing staff. The service that me and my colleges received over my 3 day stay at Moor Hall was second to non. The décor of the hotel was elegant and very accessible. The General Manager had a presence that made the hotel feel at ease. I loved every part of my stay and will be returning in the future.

A group of 20 on a two day training at Moor Hall. Check in was smooth. The GM Sam helps in carrying my luggage to the room - impressive I must say. The staff were very welcoming and well organised. The meeting room facilities were excellent. The hotel organised a whisky tasting which was brilliant. Food was great. A warm atmosphere within the hotel. A great location for business and leisure. Can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic experience. Angie is the perfect host explaining all the food items and nothing was too much trouble. She even fetched a cake box for some items we simply couldn't eat. A very pleasant way of spending Sunday afternoon. Thanks angie and thanks moor hall.

Beautiful hotel. Had a good-sized room with AC, large windowed bathroom with classy bathroom suite though the more recently installed shower unit cheapened the effect and there was a smell of drains at times. Minimal toilet paper/tissue provided and be aware that no toiletries are offered as in similar standard hotels. The runner across the bottom of bed had been torn and poorly sewn and a drawer knob fallen off the dressing table plus there were iron marks on the carpet. Managed to sign in on the free hotel wifi service in the room for about 5 minutes over the two-night stay. We were informed that this was not usually a problem and handed a telephone number for the provider to deal with it ourselves. The 'Do not Disturb' sign on your door does not mean that staff do not enter the room if they think it is vacant. The electronic room keys refused access and so there was a long trawl back to Reception. The procedure for entering the spa area could have been clearer, as we spent time searching for old pound coins for the locker to then be told that we could actually 'purchase' a token instead ... and on the second visit, time was spent searching for the room key until it was realised the desk must have held onto it after being asked if they could see it. The jacuzzi was full of foam each day, yuk. Some of the staff in the hotel could be more customer focussed. The restaurant area, however, was very nice, clean and with timely, helpful service. Without going into our full experience, our distinct impression was that many of the finer details were lacking since Mrs Webb's day and we were sad to see that her memorial garden was neglected ...

We came here as a party of 10 for a hen party and we all had an excellent day. As we arrived we were greeted with breakfast in our own private room. Then we went into the spa where the facilities were very clean and relaxing. We had lunch at 1.30 where again out party had our own room and the staff were extremely helpful. They provided us with a buffet and when the Hen advised she was vegetarian they bought out sandwiches made especially for her and could not do enough to help. We all then had a facial which was very good and all the therapists were lovely. All of us said we will definitely come again!

Our 3 day visit to Moor Hall was fabulous. We booked a superior twin room which was beautifully furnished with all the amenities and we were delighted with the extra large bathroom with bath & shower, comfort height toilet and telephone, which was so helpful for my disabled mum. We had not requested a disabled room. Throughout our stay the staff couldn't do enough to assist us and their friendly helpful manner was wonderful. Spa - amazing! 10/10

Booked in for a birthday present for husband on a very hot 17th July I had prior to the day been offered a upgrade to a superior room. As the hotel details had stated air conditioning I was expecting it but no the room we where put in had NO air conditioning not even a fan only open windows to try and cool us down! So we had a very hot uncomfortable night and little sleep because of it. Don't get me wrong it's an fantastic hotel for a wedding or spa day the country kitchen has great food and amazing staff (Alice and Andy) but I wouldn't stay again unless I made sure the room I had did have air conditioning. So make sure when booking that you are guaranteed a air conditioned room.

Stayed at Moor Hall for 2 nights as part of a training course with 15 others. Sam was the most welcoming GM, greeting me at the door and showing a real interest. The conference room was light and spacious with aircon. Terraced outside was a fantastic place to sit and have a few drinks before dinner. The dinner itself was superb, we all had the tasting menu and each dish had a great depth of flavour. The service throughout the hotel was exceptional, the staff all clearly had great passion. A special mention to Sue at breakfast and Hugh for a great whiskey tasting. I do hope I can return.

I had a pleasure of spending 2 nights in Moor Hotel hotel. From the moment we entered the building till the check out it was amazing experience. Fantastic hospitality and warm service. Big 'thank you' to all breakfast ladies who went above and behond to make us feel special and to Hugh for brilliant whiskey testing.

Overnight stay in between rounds of golf. Hotel has lots of character, which can be a good thing. Room was OK but free wifi did not work. Bar was pleasant with patio overlooking the golf course. Breakfast was plentiful but not great quality. Good value for the price, though.

Have stayed here a few times and no complaints. This stay was a little disappointing as the bar appeared disorganised. I ordered a bar meal and after a wait of 45 minutes was told that what I had ordered was not available. Total weight of 90 minutes for a bar meal is not good. The spa was relaxing and the staff courteous as always with the exception of the night desk staff member who was a little dismissive of a query I made. Breakfast very good as usual.

Thoroughly recommend this venue. We stayed with friends for two nights and really enjoyed the lovely gardens, the terraced bar on a summer's afternoon, the fantastic breakfast on offer and superb leisure facilities. What really makes this place though are the incredibly friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble and the kids were made to feel every bit as welcome as the grown up's. A lovely lady called Angie who served us food on the terrace epitomised this. We found the stay to be good value for money and if I were to sum this place up it would be to describe it as a 'posh place without the stuffiness'. Thank you all.

A fantastic beautiful hotel that.boasts it's fabulous golf course. We had the. Pleasure to be there because it was Mr And Malts Carters wedding day. The food service was excellent and waiting staff on point. Would definitely visit again

We attended a wedding 3 weeks ago and stayed at the hotel for the weekend and it was amazing, especially the wedding! A big thank you to a young lady who served us at the wedding breakfast... I think her name was Yaz or Jaz? who wore glasses and her hair was in a bun. She was so polite and nothing was too much for her. It is always a positive when your waitress has a massive smile on there face. The day after the wedding breakfast, we bumped into her around the bar area and Yaz came over and asked if we was okay and enjoyed our stay so that was a lovely gesture too. Thanks so much, you made our stay very enjoyable!

We came here for some quality down time to chill and relax! Can not fault anything! Room is great, spa and leisure is great!! All the staff are very helpful and friendly! We ate in the country kitchen restaurant and in particular Andy was amazing! He couldn't do enough for us and was very kind and helpful! Great food, great people, great place! Would recommend this hotel! :)

Classic afternoon tea this afternoon in pleasant surroundings on the terrace. Angie, Bar Supervisor who was mainly our waitress throughout the afternoon was very attentive, nothing was to much trouble and made us all feel very welcome. Angie including two other members of staff sang happy birthday to the birthday girl which was a complete surprise and the overall experience was excellent. Cannot wait to return again soon.Thank you Angie for an excellent job.

Hotel promised so much from the website and reservation team, however, failed to deliver. The hotel is extremely dated and tired, rooms were a disappointment. Spa robes & slippers supposed to be provided in every room and two out of our three rooms did not have them. Porters delivered promptly but my gown was wet. Received a call the day before having to rearrange spa treatments due to staff issues and we did everything to accommodate their requests. Pool area was small, watched a lady slip poolside as slippy, cups left on tables, not enough furniture, very untidy, no staff cleaning and ladies changing rooms utterly disgusting with wets towels, robes strewn everywhere. Treatment themselves were good and the staff, particularly Laura and Sarah were excellent. Never had a manicure led on a bed and it was not relaxing having to lean across for the other hand. Ridiculous. Oak Room restaurant front of house staff were rude and others were shown to their table, we were literally pointed at and told there is your table. Waiting staff were lovely. Strict dress code policy re no jeans yet a table were joined by a couple later in the evening wearing jeans and nothing said. On a set amount for evening meal as part of the spa weekend package, for which we paid extra towards, no change offered when I paid the extra! Breakfast room was lovely, as were the staff, and food quality excellent both at breakfast and the evening meal. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone or ever return. Not a relaxing, stress free break as it should have been.

We had an overnight stay at this wonder jewel. It is set in beautiful grounds up a private road overlooking a private golf course. The hotel was an old manor house and in the main areas, reception, the bar etc it maintains the old character of the house. But in the bedrooms, the hotel right up to date. We stopped in a superior room, that was spacious with a king size bed. Immaculately clean with all the amenities you need, teas, coffee, mini bar etc. We had a wonder around the gardens after a lovely lunch on bar terrace overlooking the golf course. We discovered the peaceful secret garden with its water feature and sat for a while just listening to the birds. There is a spa, gym and pool, and whilst we didn't use them, we did have look round they looked very impressive. In the evening we had a meal in the Oak room. It had a wide variety of choice, that was so tasty that left you wanting more. The service was excellent, Chloe our waitress was polite, curious and helpful. She's a credit to the team. In fact all the staff from reception, the bar staff, and right through the cleaning team are a credit to the hotel. What an excellent experience. We can't wait to go back. If you need to stop in the area, I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Booked this meal sometime ago for a family event. Can't believe how beautiful the experience was, the food the staff in particular Andy who couldn't do enough and Shaneece who made a real fuss over my child whom been the reason for our gathering. She even wrote a greeting on a plate in chocolate with a slice of cake for him! We had our wedding in this hotel 10 years ago and it's as good today as it was back then. We are already looking to plan more gatherings after today's experience. Thank you guys

Me and my sister's booked the afternoon tea package to take our mom and i must say the experience was amazing. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and shown the way to the spa area. They explained the day and took us to a quiet bar area where they served us tea, coffee and orange juice before showing us round. We went into pool area which was very clean and relaxing, there was also a Jacuzzi sauna and steam room we could use. We went upstairs for our treatments we all had back massage which we all loved and all staff were so nice, they even allowed us to book a last minute treatment for our mom. After our treatments we got ready and went to the bar for afternoon tea. Angie who was so amazing took us to a different roin

Twelve of us booked a Girls Night In package to celebrate a friends 40th birthday. This included use of the spa, dinner in the Country Kitchen, use of a private lounge to watch DVDs, and overnight stay and breakfast for £64 each. Overall, the package was excellent value for money, but it was a bit hot and chaotic in the Country Kitchen, and the DVD player didn't work properly so we had to watch Dirty Dancing through a green filter. Some of the staff seemed unfamiliar with both the DVD player and the Girls Night In package and it took well over an hour to get things sorted. Breakfast in the Oak Room was chaotic too with not enough staff to clear the tables and keep the food topped up. The rooms were a good size but looked like they hadn't been refurbished for a number of years. Overall, this was a good value stay though and I hope these minor issues wouldn't re-occur if we go back again.

One of our sons gave us a "spa day" as a Christmas present and when we researched places to spend our spa voucher we found this hotel. We decided to add an overnight stay to our spa day and make a weekend of it! Approaching along the drive, the hotel is quite secluded. Our first stop was the spa where we were warmly greeted and settled in for our day - beginning with breakfast which was very welcome after a long drive. Then we changed into our robes and went off for our treatments followed by a long swim in the lovely pool. Lunch was also part of our spa day and then we just loafed around in the spa rooms until late afternoon. Such a lovely relaxing day; the staff were helpful and welcoming. We then checked in to the hotel itself. Our room was large with a comfortable seating area with an armchair and a small sofa. The TV could be moved to face either the seating area or the bed. The bathroom was ample and well-supplied with toiletries. In the evening we had a drink in the bar where the staff were welcoming and helpful then we ate in the carvery restaurant. The restaurant was comfortable and the food was very good. A good selection of roast meats and a variety of side-dishes; desserts were on offer but we were too full with dinner to take a dessert! Breakfast the following morning was ample and delicious. All the staff we met were helpful and pleasant. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, despite a very large lunch event taking place, and the public spaces were comfortably appointed.

Always a lovely wedding at moor hall but it's in need of a refurb, looking tired and dated now. Our room was clean and staff all very friendly. Wasn't too keen on the breakfast after a night in the very hard bed!

Two nights Visit , for our 30 th wedding anniversary , My wife and I both enjoyed the short break, every single member of staff we came in to contact with gave sincere genuine courteous attentive service, a real credit to the Hotel, room very clean and nicely decorated, very comfortable bed , highly recommended.

Booked this hotel as a surprise for my wife's for our Anniversary, I could not fault the hotel or service one bit. I booked the Jacuzzi room which was amazing the hotel had sorted flowers and Wine as requested and these were in the room on our arrival and there was also a card from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary which i thought was a nice touch. The Spa was clean and relaxing and the spa treatments we both had were first class. Dinner in the country Kitchen was outstanding the choice was great and the carvery its self was one of the best i have been too (highly recommend). Happy with everything about this hotel and my wife is already booking up with her friends for a spa day.

On arrival we received a friendly welcome and having asked for a quiet room we were more than pleased with the one allocated. It was an upgrade to a superior with a lovely bay window overlooking the garden. We hit the heat wave and asked for only a top sheet on the beds which was no problem making for cool nights. As we were visiting a sick relation we found the room peaceful and relaxing after being out all day. As usual the breakfast was extensive with helpful and friendly staff, we dined in the Country Kitchen on one night but Mere Green the nearby shopping centre has been rejuvenated with coffee shops, bars and restaurants making it a buzzy centre. A visit we were not looking forward to ended up being a real pleasure.

My wedding took place in Moor Hall Hotel last April and I must say that they have done an impressive job in making a stunning reception for the occasion. They offered a big bridal suite and the facilities were perfect for photos. The food were served timely and tasted very good. Everything went as I wanted them to be and all the staff were helpful and friendly. I would like to commend Mr. Jamie Hall in his outstanding job in coordinating and being helpful to make the moment magical for me and my husband.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting, upon arrival the receptionist was very pleasant and checked us in quickly and gave us the information for using the facilities. The room was loverly a nice comfy bed the usual tea making facilities. The bathroom was large and a nice walk in shower, they supplied a gown and slippers which came in handy. The. Hotel itself was very pleasing beautiful grounds and of course a great golf course. My only criticism was that they took 45 minutes to bring a sandwich which we ordered which I thought I was a little long to wait for . The evening for the wedding went well and was in a decent size room and had easy access to outside I woul definitely visit again and perhaps use the spa.

Booked Spa Day with my aunt. Spa was lovely. Fabulous treatments & attentive, friendly staff. What spoilt the day (which was a special Xmas gift) was lunch. We had to wait 45 minutes for a sandwich, despite having pre-ordered it on arrival that morning & despite reminding the bar staff several times. We even got attitude from the bar manager - he must have thought we were being awkward. Had to rush lunch & leave it unfinished to get to our afternoon treatments in time, which we didn't feel very relaxed for. It's a shame that such a day that cost almost £200 was spoilt by something as simple as a sandwich!!! We won't be returning.

Wow , we are both still so overwhelmed by our perfect best day ever !!! Moor Hall bent over backwards for us ! Inparticular we would like to point out the service we received from Joanne Dewhurt, she was out go to woman on the run up to the wedding and believe me we really did , I contacted her daily and nothing was ever too much for her !!!!!! Jamie who looked after us on the day of our wedding he was very professional and friendly and definitely made us feel at ease ! He was absolutely fab , talking ya through things the night before , the morning of and the day after !!!! Thank you! Last we would like to thank Pat Okeefe who again ensured we were very well looked after on the evening of our wedding , stored our belongings until we were ready to collect and generally ensured we were happy! Their were few minor downfalls - the breakfast service was slow , but we coped ! Haha The corridors to the bedrooms were absolutely boiling ! The bride suite of which I stayed in the evening before as well as the nighttime , wasn't cleaned and tidied very well after the first nights stay , I spoke to the cleaner in the morning of the wedding and asked her to clean the room and change the bed for me and my new husband she agrees but said she finished at 2 and I wasn't due to leave the room until 1.30 pm , I feel whoever cleaned it rushed and the room wasn't as clean and tidy as expected and the bed deffo wasn't changed but again this was minor ! The day was perfect , lots of people have commented on the food , so massive thanks to the chefs on 9th June ! Thanks for making our best day ever the best! Mr and Mrs Tallis

We recently stayed here on a Spring deal which included 2 nights' bed and breakfast, plus one evening meal in the Oak Room restaurant. Parts of the hotel need a little refurb and tidy, but overall our stay was perfectly pleasant for the price. The food was great, the rooms comfortable, and the grounds great for a little peaceful scenic stroll. From start to finish, the staff were helpful and polite, going out of their way to help with a number of special birthday requests. We also sampled the spa, which again was very enjoyable and relaxing. It's easy to get into Birmingham, and overall a great option if you're looking for somewhere to stay nearby.

Family event was held here. At £22 a head I expected more than poor quality sandwiches, most of which were egg and all of which had next to no filling in them. Moor Hall might be surprised to hear but lots of vegetarians don't eat eggs. As for the bar, there was a very limited choice and the prices were astronomical. Best to avoid unless you want to be ripped off, especially if you are vegetarian.

Staff and other hoteliers were extremely friendly. The environment was very clean and tidy. Overall I would recommend. Very relaxing environment and beautiful setting. Breakfast was great. Room cleanliness was perfect. All in all a fantastic hotel. All staff should be proud.

We visited Moor Hall Hotel & Spa for a conference and overnight stay 6th & 7th June, the hotel is very good, very spacious and has lovely view over the grounds and golf course. The conference facilities are very good and the bedrooms have everything you need and were very comfortable. All 28 of us ate in the carvery restaurant and were very well looked after by Andrew Faulkner, he kept us all informed and organised over all three courses. He was very professional but also had a fantastic personality. He did a great job.

Turned up a little early to book in- apologies from receptionist as room was not ready booking in was from 3pm we got there at 1.45.asked to come in about 20 minutes room should be ready- went to the bar as you do- returned 30 mins later room was ready-as we were Best Western loyalty card customers even though we booked the room through Tesco vouchers we had been upgraded to a Superior room. Bit of a walk to the room but no prob's was offered a valet to take our bags to the room. Entered to a lovely clean room quite a big room with a massive queen size bed, lovely big bathroom very clean, lovely view from our room overlooking the gardens and the golf course. 2 restaurants the "Oak Room" quite posh and nice to see a dress code in place, there is also the "country kitchen" restaurant which is a cavery but so much more,a nice and relaxing place to eat. The bar was nice with oak panelling and was well staffed. You can order sandwiches/snacks/crisps but also burgers/fish dishes and enjoy them in the bar which we did in the first night-only let down was the bottled beers weren't cold. Had a great nights sleep and considering there was a wedding there we were not disturbed by any music. Came down to breakfast which is also in the country kitchen room,greeted and shown to table its a buffet type breakfast so help yourself the produce is excellent and great choice of full English items or continental which every you want-it was very busy in there but the staff were excellent. We came back to the hotel after some retail therapy and had a sandwich in the bar lovely soft bread and plenty of fillings to choose from. We had therapies booked in the spa. The spa and therapy rooms were very clean and the staff were excellent. We booked a table in the Country kitchen in the night for dinner, table booked for 7pm greeted and taken to table our waitress Grace was excellent and nothing to much trouble-the starters were lovely and a great selection-the carvery was superb and you were not left wanting for any of the meats on offer the veggie options I was told were excellent also-the desserts were beautiful you could also have a selection of cheese and tea or coffee to finish off-excellent value for money- Andrew the manager came and checked during and after the meal to make sure everything was ok- and it was. Next morning then back in for breakfast again nothing to much trouble. Checking out was nice and quick- found the whole experience of the Moor house hotel and spa, superb will definitely go back for another visit.

Having recently stayed here I can't recommend it highly enough. All the staff are totally charming and incredibly helpful - not in a cap doffing, obsequious way but an easy, friendly, normal person way! It was such a lovely atmosphere of people who were clearly very happy at work.

We came down for a spa break, which was a much-needed retreat weekend away. The first thing I was aware of was the lady on reception was lovely, she wasn't just polite she had a great sense of humour and personality, so we immediately warmed to her. The room was good, though it smelled a bit musty in truth so we asked if we could have our large window open. Within about 5 minutes a man appeared with a fan and opened our window for us, which was a great help. The spa pool is beautiful, I love the way the sun floods into the water. We had two treatments in the package, and we both had a back massage & facial. We were equally delighted with the standard of our masseuses and enjoyed their conversation and advice also. We enjoyed a walk around the grounds, viewing the Henry VIII bear pit (evil man that he was) and sitting on a bench in the rain, chilling after a good massage. The food was the weakest element. I'd contacted the hotel in advance, as they only had two vegetarian main courses and neither contained any protein. As a keen walker and swimmer I do need a lot of this and it shocks me how few chefs seem to have any clue about nutrition. Anyway the hotel kindly incorporated my suggestion of providing lentil soup (instead of potato) to allow me the protein required and this was great. It arrived with no bread, but it was tasty and quite well seasoned. My main course was gnocci in a LOT of cream. I don't really eat cream very much but I needed the sustenance and since there was no way to know from the menu what the gnocci was served with (the waiters weren't sure) and that the other option was a less substantial sounding 'roasted vegetables' concoction, there was no alternative. Again though, it was very well seasoned, it just seemed a little inappropriate that the only options for a healthy spa break were really not very healthy at all!! My sister was delighted with her lamb though, and although she paid extra for scallops (and you only receive 3!!) she still enjoyed the flavour. The saving grace was that the waiters were wonderful. Claudio and Pedro were so warm and kind and funny, so I'd love to pass on personal thanks to them both for their welcome and great personalities. Oh and I really wish I'd managed to take that 'gargoyle' picture it would be too funny (Pedro will know what I mean by that). The room was fine, the breakfast very good. I wish I'd noticed there was a menu as well as buffet as I would have ordered veggie sausages and scrambled eggs (as I can't eat runny egg white, as on the buffet) but quite frankly there was enough food to choose from anyway and a wonderful selection of fruit and even some local honey. It was amazing to see some of the staff there in the morning that had still been working when we went to bed. What hard working people and still so warm and friendly. I suppose the best suggestion would be to train the staff better. I was surprised that the waiters hadn't been trained on the menu, where I live the staff know every ingredient in every dish. The barman didn't even know how to pour a guinness - not his fault, he should be trained!! Lovely people though and a great vibe about the place overall. I would happily return, but without the evening meal.

We visited this Hotel last week for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner. Check in was very smooth and the staff were very friendly. The room was excellent and very spacious as I had booked a superior room. The only problem was that the room we stayed in, room 290 was too hot at night to sleep, therefore we asked for a fan to be brought to the room. This was gone within a few minutes. The breakfast was great each morning, and the dinner each night was a carvery menu which was nice, but a bit blend, but that was my personal taste. I could not fault the staff or the service. The spa facilities were excellent. It had a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam room. I was so relaxed after that. The grounds were beautiful and were kept really well. Would I stay at Moor Hall Hotel again? Yes I would. I had a great time

This hotel has no smoking rooms I know most hotels do not allow smoking in the rooms however I believe that when you pay for a room you should have a choice all hotels have a couple of rooms at a end of a hall for example that can be allocated they do have a smoking area, free car park and internet Wifi, when we arrived we had booked a double room we asked if they had any twin rooms and without any problem they allocated us a upgraded twin room, Staff very helpful we had the carvery for dinner this let the hotel down a little as the food was cold and the roast potatoes that should be crispy were soft you who like roasted potatoes know what I mean, cosy bar however the cost of £4.10 pint a little expensive good nice sleep in a good size and clean room next morning breakfast was a buffet and I have to say it is probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had all food hot and local produce. Would be recommend YES would we stay again YES,YES,YES

Had a wonderful day here the staff were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. The spa was lovely, I had a treatment of a back massage it was perfect. Would recommend a spa day here. I will definitely be back.

We regularly stay at Moor Hall, 3-4 times a year the past 3 years as we visit family living close quite often. Staff are always well mannered and well informed. Will go out of there way to help you if they can, for example we arrived back at the hotel at 11.00pm and they had closed the bar due to lack of hotel guests at it, and they then reopened it to serve us, which was much appreciated. I have made use of there spa, had a massage which was delightful and just what I needed! The breakfast is always very good with plenty of options buffet style as well as a menu for the kitchen. Can't wait to stay again!

Very disappointed with the following someone had got our booking wrong they said we had only paid for 1 person and the booking was for 3 .it became very embarrassing when been questioned twice by the waiter and twice by the manager about our booking as there was other people sitting close by and could hear what was going on As this was a mothers day present from my 2 daughters I felt very sorry for them .It was a good that my daughter had her phone with as she showed the waiter and manager the emails and her bank account details of the transaction of the payment of £72 to moor hall the only thing that happened was that on the way out we bumped into the manager who said he was sorry about what happened .Pity about the service as the food was lovely and enjoyed the afternoon tea but I would not recommend Moor hall to anyone after my experience there

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely weekend away here for our 5th anniversary. The room was nice and clean as was the rest of the hotel. We made good use of the spa and gym...and of course the bar! All of the staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Location, reception, food and experience was superb. Can't recommend enough. Also at the end of the evening we were presented with a complimentary birthday cake which really completed the evening. At no point were we rushed or made to feel uncomfortable time wise. Yes Moor hall and there staff do go that extra mile.

Friendly staff in hotel, good service, excellent food and nice rooms for private functions. One downside: we were staying for a late lunch and had been told we could use the spa facility after we checked out; however the spa manager was quite abrupt, instructing our party we had to leave by 11:00am.

I went for the afternoon to the spa, which was lovely, relaxing, I had a lovely back massage, then after we had been in the spa we have a lovely afternoon tea , which was absolutely fantastic , I am very picky, but this was fantastic.

Few teething problems on first day but soon solved by very helpful staff. Second nights meal was much improved by the amazing Bobby who cooked a superb meal to order and we were looked after by Andrew who has definitely found his calling in running a restaurant. Driving up to the hotel, we drove past some amazing houses, so guessed the hotel would be similar and it does look very grand arriving in the car park! My Birthday was the Friday we arrived, we had been shopping all day so decided to stay at the hotel. The room was smaller than we expected but still clean and tidy! It is dated but the whole style of the hotel ties in! We asked for plates to be brought to the room for a cake which wasn't too much trouble... the receptionist staff were so helpful and friendly for everything! The breakfast both mornings was good for cooked breakfast but continental was quite poor, not much to choose from! We used the spa facilities Saturday lunchtime, again it was smaller than we were expecting from looking at online photos! The sauna couldn't hold more than 4 people and it was really busy.. We couldn't get a sun lounger so the experience was short lived. Saturday evening we had a few drinks at the bar before getting a taxi into the town which was about £4! Sunday after checking out, we walked around the grounds, the secret garden is very pretty and the views over the golf course are lovely! We booked 2 nights through groupon so was good value for money and i enjoyed my stay as it was my birthday but i wouldn't pay full price to go back!

the wedding venue was set out marvellous, the wedding breakfast, was lovely, the staff were most helpful and had a smile for you. the rooms were wow, comfy, and clean. a special thank you to a young lady on the front desk, named kirsty, she could see l was cold and kindly made me a pot of tea, which was most welcome. many thanks to all the staff at moor hall you are doing a grand job..

The moor hotel was an absolute brilliant hotel to stay at. The decor is old fashioned with a modern twist and very quaint! The grounds of the hotel are stunning so quiet and romantic lovely to look around. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed in 2015, and it was awful. Room was far too hot, no air conditioning, and the wedding disco kept us awake. We were very apprehensive when our friend who organises these get-togethers; again went for this hotel, and this was compounded further when we found out on arrival a wedding was on. However, we have to say the room we had (only 4 doors down from our 2015 room) was very comfortable and because it has a bay window had plenty of ventilation, was much cooler and the wedding was nowhere near as loud as last time. We advise checking if a function is booked, and request a room away from the noise. We stayed in the modern wing (built on to the original building). The food was great especially the breakfast which seemed to source local ingredients. Staff were very helpful, and I have to say we would stay again.

Quick overnight stay, arrived in the evening, left early next day. Very friendly helpful receptionist. Good size comfortable single room, decent size single bed, with well equipped bathroom, with good shower. Shame I did not get to use the leisure centre or have the good breakfast that I have experienced before. Still good value for the quality of room/service provided.

I stayed here for business and decided to eat at the bar. Usual choices so I went for the beer battered fish and chips. The dish arrived and the batter looked pale. I went to eat it and the batter was soft and tasted of flour. It was almost raw. The fish was ok so I ate the fish without the batter. I mentioned this to the waitress who took it back. She came back and kept apologising and offered me a complimentary drink which I declined as I didn't want another drink. This hotel also has an a la carte menu which is not cheap. If the kitchen can send this out then I would not have any confidence eating at the main restaurant. Needless to say I won't be dining and hence staying here anymore. I would just add that the waitress was very good as she must have apologised a least 3 times.

We were attending a friends wedding in nearby Litchfield and were recommended to stay at the Moor Hall Hotel. I booked the hotel months in advance of the April wedding via booking.com and my husband and I were looking forward to our stay. On arrival we received a warm welcome from reception staff and our room 007 was located on the ground floor in the older part of the hotel. We entered the room and were very disappointed with the décor which was dark and dingy and quite scruffy, it certainly didn't look like any of the rooms advertised on the hotel website. At a cost of £144 per night with breakfast I expected better and can honestly say this is the worst hotel room standard I have had in any of the many 4 star hotels I have stayed at. Our room directly overlooked another room which meant you had to close the curtains for any privacy. The soft furnishings were grubby and needed replacing and the carpet under the vanity unit hadn't been cleaned properly and was dusty. The bedroom furniture was old and badly marked and there were no drawers to put clothing into only a wardrobe. The bathroom looked as if it had undergone a recent refit but for some reason the toilet seat was 2 inches too small for the toilet and the plug in the bath didn't work so flooded the bath when you had a shower. My husband removed the plug by hand which was full of hair and dirt. Walls were paper thin and during our 2 night stay we were woken on 5 occasions in the early hours by other guests walking along the corridor, the bedhead on our bed was placed against the interior wall which formed part of the corridor. The seals around the bedroom and bathroom windows were marked with black mold and could have done with a good clean. I appreciate there were weddings taking place in the hotel on both nights of our stay and feel that perhaps the better rooms in the hotel were allocated to those guests attending the weddings at the hotel. In total there were 24 of us in our group staying at the hotel so not a small number by any means. On a positive note the service we received from the restaurant, reception and bar staff was excellent as was the quality of the food we ate in the carvery restaurant and at breakfast. We used the leisure facilities during our stay but the chlorine in the pool was so strong my husband couldn't put his face in the water to swim as it stung his eyes. Again some general upkeep was required in the pool area as this also was looking a little tatty. I have since emailed the hotel regarding my experience and they have responded offering me a discounted visit the next time we stay in Sutton Coldfield. They haven't responded to my request for a partial refund! Would I stay here again, definitely not. They are currently offering a 1 night stay with breakfast on groupon for £60 which is about the right price for the standard of room we were allocated.. I don't think this is a one off occasion as there are some similar reviews earlier in the year.

I was gifted a spa treat for my birthday at Moor Hall. It included an overnight stay, 1 x 25 minute spa treatment, meal for two (we up graded to the AA Rosette Oak Room restaurant) Our room was extremely spacious with a four poster bed; it was clean and tidy. Room service delivered a birthday cupcake on arrival which was a nice touch. My only comment is the room could do with a new carpet. The spa treatment was outstanding; I had a neck and back massage, the young lady was very skilled at relaxing my tense back muscles. Thank You. It was a proper massage not just a stroke. The interior was very good. The spa area and swimming pool were clean and tidy; just a bit small for a spa. Children also have access to the pool. So do not pick a school holiday if you would like peace and quiet. The meal and wine was A1 and the waiter service good; my only comment is the cheese was fridge cold. Overall we had a great experience at Moor Hall. Thanks

I have been a regular visitor to Moor Hall for many years. I was so impressed after my last visit that I have had to review this hotel again. After a not so good experience, well over a year ago now, it was a big decision to return. However putting it behind us we booked a table with friends for Sunday lunch in the Country Kitchen. Well what can I say other than the staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming and the food was superb. We were very impressed - so I decided to book the Oak room for dinner last week. I am so glad I did. The food was delicious and the service was first class. I can't wait to return.

From the moment we arrived until we left we were impressed by the attentive friendly staff. The hotel is welcoming, clean and the room was perfect. Jamie, Karl, Angie, Jen, Dan, Luke to name a few of the staff were so helpful, professional and friendly, even walking around the beautiful well kept building staff asked if they could help. Food was excellent and value for money. The stay felt very personable but you could see the same attention was given to all visitors. The gardens are beautiful to stroll around and walk off a large enjoyable breakfast. At check in reception staff were just as helpful and even upgraded our room at no extra cost. A really excellent experience in the Country Kitchen restaurant. A lovely range of freshly prepared starters, mains and desserts. Great choices. Salmon in a white wine sauce, as a special, was light and extremely tasteful. First rate service by Isaac throughout. Attentive and alert without being intrusive.

Not for the first time, we had a great experience for afternoon tea. All of the staff have a smile on their face and make you feel important, without actually over imposing themselves and becoming annoying. Angie, our host, was brilliant and I would highly recommend this place for afternoon tea!

Moor Hall is a beautiful setting for a wedding both inside and out. We have just held our daughters wedding here on Easter Sunday and couldn't be more impressed. The service was outstanding from the hotel reception to the wedding coordinators, bar staff, waiting staff were all excellent. Food was lovely both for wedding breakfast and evening hog roast. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed overnight and the room and morning breakfast was great. All the guests seem to of been of the same opinion. We would like to thank the hotel for making this day a very special occasion and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We've just returned from an overnight stay at Moor Hall to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was the venue for our wedding reception 16 years ago so is a place dear to our hearts and remains so. We booked a superior room but to our delight, we were given a suite comprising of a bedroom, separate sitting room with TV and the most fantastic bathroom with a huge spa bath and luxury shower. What a lovely surprise! There was also a beautiful anniversary message, card and chocolates left for us....a lovely touch. Unfortunately the Oak Room was closed due to the bank holiday so we opted to go to the nearby Butler's Arms for dinner, enjoying a post dinner drink back at the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and service excellent as always. We were delighted with our stay and extend our thanks to the staff for their attentive service and attention to detail.

My sister and I enjoyed a very pleasant carvery dinner on a Thursday evening in the country kitchen. The young waiters were attentive without being intrusive, the chef who carved the three choices of joints on offer was friendly and helpful. He explained that there was also a chefs special, but I decided on the turkey, and my sister the beef. Helping ourselves to potatoes, vegetables and gravy etc, we sat down to enjoy a relaxing dinner. I would thoroughly recommend the venue, and will definitely be making a return visit

I have been before, but today was my best visit - from the initial welcome, through to the skilled therapist, Kate (really hope I have got her name right!). I love the relaxation lounge - absolutely beautiful. Do visit - but could I just say, one thing that spoils spa day visits for me (anywhere) are fellow guests who chat in quiet/relaxation area. If that's you - take note - please - your conversation could take place around the pool or coffee area (I am not intetested!) But - well done, Moor Hall - and give Kate a bonus!

This was our first stay at Moor Hall and we are already looking forward to booking our next stay. We were warmly greeted on arrival at the front desk and our room exceeded our expectations. We overlooked trees and lawn and it was very relaxing. The room was large, well equipped and spotlessly clean and we slept well on the comfortable bed. In the evening we enjoyed a high quality meal in the Oak Room, the service and food were excellent. My wife and I both had fish main courses which were perfectly cooked. The hotel information provided in the room by the General Manager was very good. We had a lovely breakfast delivered to our room and it was both hot and on time. This is a very well run hotel that we will look forward to returning to.

Had a really lovely day here, the spa facilities were great and the staff were really polite. The afternoon tea was lovely and really yummy. We felt really welcome and took our time. This deal was great value for money and I would definitely do it again.

The experience here could not have been better. From our arrival to our departure the superb facility and grounds along with the "nothing was too much trouble" staff made the stay one to remember and certainly one we would experience again. We were attending the middle wedding reception of three that were being held over the weekend and considering the number of persons arriving and departing the staff were brilliant. I have never eaten so many meals of such quality in a long time and a special mention goes to the Banqueting Manager, Mr Jamie Hall and the Harvester dining facility staff who made sure that everyone was well looked after. Well done.

Treated my mother and family to a cream tea,because it was a perfect day and we love the location . We had the tea and coffee served to us 1/2 before the scone came out ,we had to ask to see where they were. When the scones did eventually come and found the scones tiny and dry and badly presented ,after paying £7.50,found standard garden centres far better and would of expected Moor hall to have a better standard all round . We have had the meals here and found them excellent but feel the standard of the cream teas very poor.

Just like to say what an amazing time we had at Moor Hall for our wedding. Everything was amazing from the food to the staff. Special thanks to Jamie, Carl & Jo and the team. 11 out of 10. Every request was adhered to with no hesitation and to great attention to detail. Would seriously recommend everyone to have their wedding here. This weekend we were treated to the wonderful service of Moor Hall Hotel and Spa at Samantha & Daniel's wedding. It was such a gorgeous day and was an absolute treat to spend it in the sunshine in the stunning grounds. The staff were all absolutely wonderful,especially Jamie Hall who is a credit to your tea, very polite, professional and accommodating . Nothing was too much to ask for and everyone had such a great day. Thank you, we look forward to visiting you again :)

My husband and I booked this hotel at the very last minute for our wedding anniversary. We gave less than 24 hours notice and they managed to book us in for the superior package, fine dining for that night, breakfasts, buffet lunch the next night, use of the spa and we also had a complementary bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival. They even managed to accommodate a request for getting us an anniversary card and bottle of prosecco as a surprise from a family member with just a couple of hours' notice. All the staff treated us like royalty and we were impressed that they remembered our names when there were over 100 guests. They all made our weekend very special and I would definitely return. Well recommended.

The Moor hall Hotel and Spa maintains a proper hotel experience with old world style and traditional commitment to service. The full English breakfast is excellent with so many choices. Just ask the reception for anything and they will try to accommodate your request.

Came here for our annual girls weekend away and can't speak highly enough of this place. Fantastic bedroom, lovely spa facilities, delicious food and friendly staff especially Mila and Carlos in the Oak Room restaurant. Can't wait to return ??

We've used Moor Hall a couple of times this year for events in the large banqueting room and each time I've been impressed by how smoothly the venue has made it for us. We do a lot of events at various different venues and having helpful and attentive staff makes a real difference, Moor Hall could not do enough for us and remembered the small quirks from when we were there previously. The buffet was delightful and the biscuits that were served with our teas and coffee were a lovely treat.

I thought this place was pretty good value for money. Great location and a pretty interior, but most of all, the staff throughout the hotel were excellent. The full breakfast buffet was really good. Didn't have an opportunity to use the spa or gym - something to try next time...

My husband and I visited Moor Hall for an overnight stay as a little pre Christmas treat to ourselves. We have been fairly regular visitors since we had our wedding reception there 15 years ago and have always been very happy with the service we have received and the overall experience. It is a place which holds very happy memories for us. However, we are unsure whether we will return now. Check in was fine and our room comfortable, if a bit dated. The bathroom has obviously been refurbished and was fresh and modern. The shower, however, had zero pressure and was little more than a trickle. Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. As part of our stay, dinner in the Oak Room was included so we headed to the bar at about 8pm for a pre dinner drink ahead of our 8.30 booking. My husband informed the barman that we were had arrived and that our table was booked for 8.30. Normally we would be given a menu to peruse and our order taken before being seated. We observed this happening with all other guests. 8.30 came and went with no one coming to take our order. We waited until 8.45 and reminded the barman of our booking. He then went to find the restaurant manager, returning a few minutes later to tell us our table was ready. I'm not sure how much longer we would have been left to wait if we hadn't reminded the barman. In fact, we actually felt invisible. This is something that we have never experienced at Moor Hall. When we were finally seated at 8.50, service was prompt and the food of a very good standard. Following a nightcap, we retired to our bedroom at about 11.45. We were conscious at that point that our room was nearly above the Charter Suite where an event was taking place. It was very loud ( to be expected and we had no issue with this) but we felt that the music would probably stop at 12, 12.30 at the latest. At 12.45am, the music was still playing at full volume making it impossible to sleep. We fully understand that there will be events at hotels and have no problem with other guests enjoying themselves. However, we felt that this was just too late for patrons who were not part of the event. We should have been placed in a room away from the Charter Suite where we would not have been disturbed. My husband phoned reception at 12.45 informing them that we could not sleep due to the noise. He was told it would go off at 1pm (it finally went off at 1.10am). It did not make for a relaxing time unfortunately. The following morning, we enjoyed our breakfast in the Country Kitchen and the nice receptionist apologised for the late music when we checked out which we acknowledged and were grateful for. However, this (and the less than satisfactory service prior to dinner) definitely marred our visit and we don't feel we will return in a hurry. This is a great shame as Moor Hall is a place very close to our hearts.

I was here for my sister's wedding I wasn't allowed to check into my room beforehand. The staff were kind enough to allow me to leave my things in reception. And then lose my trainers. But there was 'nothing we can do'. Lovely building though. And my sister is still married.

We pre-booked and paid for two superior rooms. On arrival, at 4.15pm, we were asked for a credit card to pay for the rooms and, when I explained they were already paid for, I was made to feel embarrassed and wait there for 10 minutes until the manager was free to doublecheck. We were, of course, proved to be right. I did not like the receptionist's attitude and felt insulted by her manner Our superior double room was on the ground floor with a horrible view of the carpark. The other superior room was on level two with a nice view of the garden. We were due to go to a family party that evening, so just ate a small meal in the oak room before leaving. Our meat antipasti consisted of two packets of supermarket meat with some stale bread and a small bowl of oil. There were none of the usual artichokes, peppers and Parma ham which you would expect from such a dish. The beefburger was covered in mayonnaise despite being requested to be plain. Breakfast was delicious, served in the restaurant. We were attended to by a wonderful waitress called Jenny. She really was so elegant and kind and was the redeeming feature of Moor Hall. I hope her managers appreciate her. I feel that the rooms are overpriced and things are not what they used to be here. I have visited here many times and did not enjoy this stay as much. I have paid this price for rooms elsewhere in the country and received much better customer service and value for money.

Looked this hotel up for a treat for my wife,found it on the internet. Contacted hotel as wanted a few extras as a surprise,flowers and wine.lady on phone was very helpfully arranged everything and upgraded our room at my request. Turned up a bit early but that wasn't a problem.lady at reception was just as helpfull ,went through everything the hotel offered and gave us our room. Our room was lovely,clean,little bit dated but still impressive,lovely bed,very comfortable.we went to the bar ordered some food ,wife very impressed at quality of sandwiches,but coffee was a bit weak.my club sandwiches and tea was excellent. The hotel is a mix of old and new but very vice to the eye,very relaxing.ideal for family gathering s,but price wise you would have to enquire. Our evening meal was great we settled for carvery,nice food, well cooked,not spoiled by leaving out too long.the one thing I did notice was that all the staff were so polite and attentive and I must ask the management to pass on our thanks to the dark haired waitress who served us that night,a credit to your restraunt.the young manager was was around to ensure all was well but with staff like her he had no worries.I can say along with my wife that's the best service we have received in a long while.breakfast was same attentive staff,tables cleared at your request.Sunday morning wife had spa treatment which she enjoyed. All in all we had a nice stay.I will pic up on negative point first Bathroom lamp on left of mirror not working,small areas of black mould round bath,bottom of glass shower screen showing signs of soap ingress very noticeable.room furniture showing signs of age.and the one thing I wanted was the flowers in the room on arrival.unfortunately they were not.however they did turn up an hour or so later after I spoke to the manager who was most apologetic. We found noise from guests returning to rooms from functions but the hotel does remind guests to be quiet. On the positive side ,plenty of parking,very attentive staff,nice surroundings, very nice building full of surprise snugs.very good food,and I will say again your dark haired waitress in the restraunt that night 12.11.16 does deserve recognition.

We had our daughters birthday at this venue and I must say the staff were just fabulous nothing was too much trouble . Great service ,really nice room which was semi-private and lovely food.Thank you for making our daughters birthday a special one .

We stayed overnight at the hotel and spa for a friends 30th. The hotel and bar staff were amazing and could not do enough for us.. But my rating of poor is down to the treatments at the spa. I had a back neck and shoulder massage which was supposed to last for 30 mins and it was less than 20 mins. Not impressed at all! I would definitely come back to the hotel.. But wouldn't have any treatments.

I have been to many spa days and I brought this off Groupon and treated my friend for her birthday which was to be her first spa day experience. Four of us went and unfortunately i have to say it's the worst spa I have ever been too and felt embarrassed that I had built up for my friend what it would be like. On arrival we were told by a leisure member of staff what to expect we were then offered tea and coffee which was great but had to send the milk back as it had a dark hair in it, we laughed it off. My first impressions of Moorhall was very tired and dated in desperate need of a refurb.We finally went into the reception part to be shown the facilities I could not believe the facilities which were offered. The changes rooms being used also for leisure members are so small you can fit about 5-6 maximum in there and it proved difficult as two ladies clearly leisure members felt they had a right over us to get changed, the facilities in the changing rooms are not set up for spa day members too. The toilets early morning had tissue all over the floor and the bins were over flowing. Hoping it would get better we went into the pool area and unfortunately there is very limited beds and table area which were all taken so we got straight in the jacuzzi, usually jacuzzis are a lot warmer than the pool in this case it wasn't slightly disappointed. We stayed in the pool area for no more than half an hour and decided to get some lunch. If I am honest the difficulty merely getting dressed in the smallest changing room ever I felt the facilities were not worth the while in going back after lunch. So lunch was preordered and we were taken to the Oak Room, the room looked like something out of "faulty towers", extremely dated table clothes which look like they need to be thrown away. We ordered sandwiches and a Caesar salad with chips, one of the gym instructors delivered two sandwiches to us after waiting 20 minutes then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the other two lunches. Lunch was fine and we were served by a lovely polite young man called Luke who clearly has excellent customer service skills and a real credit to Moorhall. Our treatments were booked in for 2 & 2.30pm so we went to the spa area before you go in for your treatments which is a bizzare room designed by someone who seems to love twiggs, the feeling is that they are trying to make it a spa but it just does not work and is tired and dated. Without going into too much detail through out the day 3 of us had upset stomachs and one of my friends was so bad had to go a couple of times during her treatment very embarrassing.There was no toilet facilities upstairs in the spa area so had to race downstairs back to the changing rooms to use the loo's once again these had not been cleaned or bins emptied from earlier. Treatments were nice although once again compared to other spas I have been to there was no explaining prior to or questions asked or anything about the products used which perhaps is just what I am used to and get everywhere is different but always think it's a nice touch. Well we all decided it was not worth the hassle using the facilities as it seemed difficult in the changing rooms and the facilities were just disappointing so we went to the bar. Once again Luke served us and I have to say on a disaster of a spa day he put a real shine on it and had it not been for him we would of left and gone elsewhere. There was no where to sit and so he went and found us somewhere upstairs with lovely little fire place just perfect and there we stayed till 6pm drinking and laughing about the whole disaster of a spa day but had loved catching up. Moorhall is just not set up for spa days to take place and it dosent flow at all in any area of what a "good spa day" should be, I felt really embarrassed that I had brought this for my friends birthday present. The facilities are far too small and crammed to have new people and members there and also as I said before is to "faulty towers for me, there's a lot of older clients who clearly go there the same time every week and therefore your made to feel they have priority. The spa day for four cost £160 & we the. Went on to spend £120 had it not been for the lovely attentive Luke we would have gone and spent that money somewhere else. I thanked him and informed his Supervisor how absolutely spot on he had been and is a real credit to Moorhall, thanks Luke.

I went to The Lounge Bar for a casual lunch while I was between appointments in my day. In recent times my experience has not been satisfactory for a four star hotel. Sadly what used to be a pleasant experience is now over priced and average. Moor hall have been undergoing a revamp for the past few months and in my opinion the lounge bar seems to have been forgotten, the menu variety is limited and the service alongside it is appalling. For a simple sandwich with chips it cost over £12 (not including drink) and the service is lacking. I have been coming back to try and give Moor Hall a second chance but unfortunately it seems to be getting worse each time I visit.

Stayed one night for an event at the NEC. Arrived after a long drive at this lovely location up a pretty driveway to this very attractive hotel. Slight delay checking in as only one person on Reception but on entering my room was impressed with the size and facilities. Large charming room with a huge bed and yet cosy and warm. Large flat screen TV and a huge bathroom. Plenty of storage space and tea/coffee, fruit and mineral water provided. Cleanliness was excellent - absolutely immaculate. Nice view out of window over garden. Went for a swim in the Spa. Lovely pool beautifully lit and calming in the conservatory section, again immaculately clean and a great way to chill after a long drive. Charming staff at the bar, polite and welcoming. Next morning had a delicious breakfast, again charming staff and perfectly cooked poached eggs and excellent buffet. I would have stayed another night but they were full! I can see why. Would highly recommend this Hotel. *****

The building itself is beautiful inside and out. The staff were very helpful on arrival and even provided us a phone charger as we'd forgotten ours. excellent hotel staff, the room was small but had everything we needed including complimentary chocolates and biscuits. One of the best parts about our stay was the high quality bed, one of the best nights sleep we've had. During our stay we visited the spa which is a really great addition to the hotel. Once again staff there were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was full of options and all to a very high standard. Negatives? There really isn't any, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend. We shall definitely return!

I visited Moor Hall Hotel last weekend for a table in oak room, which by the way was exceptional. On arrival at the terrace bar we were greeted by a lady call Angie, what a refreshing change to be made to feel so welcome & served with such professionalism. Well be back again well done all & thank you.

Hoped for a relaxing break away in relaxing surroundings. Although pleasant and very clean, the room and bathroom were dated and the walls paper thin! I could actually join in with the conversation of those in the room next door! Corridors are very narrow and doors bang. Breakfast was a self service buffet and had everything you could want. Unfortunately we turned up at a busy time and had to wait in reception for 10 mins for a free table. Whilst I didn't use the spa/gym facilities they looked good and had this been a business stay I would have used them. I wouldn't stay again as bathroom not of a good enough standard but at the right price it is ok.

Stayed here for two nights as we were visiting the NEC and it was convenient enough for that. Nice grounds and golf course surrounding the hotel. Booking in was fine but nothing special. We had to walk through a conservatory area to get to our room which was absolutely freezing. In general the hotel was very under heated - we stayed mid October. Our room was alright but cold and we had to turn up the heating, the radiator really wasn't big enough for the size of the room. The bathroom really needed refurbishing, it was very dated with the odd crack and mouldy bits around the place. There was a small vanity mirror where the glass was loose and was in danger of falling out at any moment, we mentioned this to reception after our first night along with the fact that the safe didn't work as the batteries had run out but nothing was done during our stay. There are two restaurants and the first night we ate at the smarter one, can't remember the name. Staff were very helpful, well trained and attentive. I started with excellently cooked scallops and we both had steak for the main course which was well presented and the upmarket chips were superb. The second night we ate in the carvery where although the waiting staff were friendly there was a distinct lack of training- wine bottle was just plonked on the table with no question of whether we would like to try it or at least have the first glass poured out for us. It is a set price for three courses with coffee which to be fair was good value. The entree salad bar was a bit tired and unimaginative but I couldn't fault the carvery from the excellent chap who served us who was polite, friendly and a credit to the hotel to the excellent quality of the meat. As said in my title, a pleasant enough stay but I wouldn't stay here again.

Visited for a casual dinner with a friend. We had fish & chips, burger, prosecco & g&t. Food was very nice. Greeted with a smile by Angie. She was lovely, polite & was working very hard! Very pleasant lady. Will return again to try the country kitchen or oak room

The one redeeming feature of this hotel is that most of the staff are nice. However nothing else really is. I stayed here for 2 days and I found the food average especially breakfast and the rooms drab. Bathrooms have been refurbed but they are ill thought out. Just overall an average experience in a tired hotel.

This property has such a lovely feel to it. Room was spacious with a lovely massive bathroom. Staff here are incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had booked in for the murder mystery night.... such good fun, really well organised. Food was great. Well worth the visit, definitely recommend staying here.

What a pleasant suprise I reserved a table for three in the oak room for Sunday lunch my first visit to this hotel the food and service was very good,The chef certainly knows how to cook a superb English roast with all the trimmings,hard to find these days. We look forward to returning to the oak room for more of this fare,and would like to thank all the staff for a pleasant lunch nothing seemed to be to much trouble.

I was invited to celebrate a friends milestone birthday with an invite to Moor Halls Halloween Murder Mystery Night, having never been to such a thing i duly accepted Moor Hall is just outside the main shopping area of Sutton and is approached up a tree lined drive it was dark when i visited but there looked to be substantial grounds on the approach to the imposing hall and golf club. The entrance hall had a fire in it and 2 large backed chairs that looked as though they would have been at home in the tale of Alice in Wonderland there were all sizes of rooms some large function rooms, some small cosy snugs, some for dining, some just for relaxing with a drink and hallways and corridors of various sizes ( my friend commented it s like a rabbit warren) . all of it however was clean and pleasant and staff encounterd very friendly and helpfull in directing you. The evening itself was enjoyable and different and suitable for all age adults, our group of 40, joining with other groups around tables of 8 making about 200ish in the room. The meal and entertainment were intertwined with a scene been set, followed by !st course, then some more story and scene/sound setting allocations per table, (audience participation similar to pantomime required) followed by main meal, more clue gathering and consolodating facts followed by dessert and then the writng of the lymeric and your tables answer of who and why and how followed by coffee and the correct answer and the presentation to the winning team. The food was pre -arranged from a choice of 3 per course and i personaly found it very good taste wise but would have liked to have seen a server of veg on the table as vegetables were minimal and the chicken looked lost on the plate having said that my dessert ( Pear Frangipan ) was much larger than expected.All in all a good night a lovely venue, good food and good company. Would consider this hotel for a celebration in the future and would do another murder mystery night.

Booked a standard double room at this Hotel for a short break. The two main reasons for picking this Hotel were location and the spa facilities. The room itself was basic and smelt of damp, was very old fashioned and could do with a refurb! The same could be said of the en suite. The room was however clean and tidy. Our room was cleaned daily but we found that used glasses/mugs were not being replaced and we ran out of soap. The front desk did organise for new soap to be sent up on request. The room rate we chose included breakfast in the Hotel restaurant. This was served in a hot buffet format and was excellent. Plenty of hot and cold options. You could also order vegetarian sausages at no extra charge. The spa was fantastic; we went in the early evening when it was very quiet (assume people were getting ready for dinner). The spa area itself is very modern, it included a pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and loungers. There are large windows for looking out over the beautiful grounds. The hotel provides robes and slippers for use in the spa but they forgot to put slippers in our room. We also found paper tickets belonging to previous guests in our robes. I wonder how well these were cleaned. On checking out, there was a bride waiting to pay and the hotel made her wait behind other guests which we found a little odd. The guests themselves asked her to go ahead. They also added a meal to our bill which we didn't have, and on complaining got told they ‘would have to take my word for it', as though I was pulling their leg. Overall, a nice weekend away, with some minor issues here and there.

Lovely place to get away. Disappointed with the room, very small and TV didn't work. The pool was very busy but we enjoyed it overhaul. We had treatments also which were nice. Breakfast wasn't good, it was set up in both restaurants as it was so busy. Main one was full, so got sent to the other restaurant. Most things were empty, even though there was 1/2 hour left. Got told to sit down and someone would come to us, after 20 mins waiting we asked again, then got an apology.

This has to be the best hotel we have been to do far. The staff were fantastic the good was excellent and the rooms were clean. We had one of the suites and it was very spacious comftable bed with a double spa bath and double shower. Great for a relaxing romantic break. The spa and facilities were also fantastic. Will be recommending it to friends and family and anyone.

Stayed here for several nights whilst working in area. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Slight walk to room, but easy to fine and well signposted. Room itself was adequate and well proportion with normal extras incl trouser press. Bed was comfortable. Good WiFi signal. Ate in bar area. Nice atmosphere with real fires and various offshoot rooms. Food was...ok, not amazing - just ok. Swimming and spa area incl sauna, steam room and gym. Breakfast was tucked away in a funny odd shaped room that resembled a greasy cafe in atmosphere. Breakfast was ok. Buffet style. Certainly would stay here again next time I was in the area. Parking may be an issue if spa is busy.
