This was our first hotel after flying into France from the US. We were a little nervous about communication, but everyone at the front desk spoke English and was very friendly. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better for visiting Chateau Vincennes, walking to the train station and dining in tasty restaurants.
Well situated in Vincennes by the chateau in a quiet street off the main road. Our room was quiet with a very modern bathroom. Staff very helpful and friendly. No parking at all so don't come with a car. Very near Metro and RER network. Very pleasant continental breakfast
The location is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. Magali assist us with recommendations of sites to see and best way to get there.
Saint Louis hotel is conveniently located next to Vincennes Castle, immediately to metro 1 and nearby RER A stations, which connect many attractions of Paris. It can be easily accessed either by taxi or public transport from both large airports. Rooms are cozy and well equipped. The only drawback (not for us, but possibly for others) is the bathroom access via narrow stairs down
The property is in a good location for emergence into French living with all the American comforts. The Hotel is excellent but Magali and her staff make it special. Near a train stop which takes me to sites inside Paris or to the outskirts.
This hotel is mere steps away from the Chateau de Vincennes. Its privileged location is on par with the quaint, graciously appointed, and impeccably clean rooms. This is not our first stay there, and it won't be our last!
Fantastic stay at this small, boutique hotel in the heart of Vincennes. The staff is exceptional and took care of all our needs. Location is across the street from the Metro with easy access to the heart of Paris. Lots of restaurants and shops to walk around to from the hotel. We can't wait to come back to visit! Thank you for a great visit!
Nice hotel. Good location. Excellent insulation from the (quiet) street but not so good from the next room shower. Very clean, good breakfast, welcoming, why ask for anything else? Third stay in this hotel.
This is a solid basic hotel with air conditioning and a decent breakfast. The location in Vincennes is convenient to visit all of the interesting places in Paris by subway. You pay a fair price for a very clean room and it works well if you are not looking for many extra amenities.
Always feeling welcome and appreciated when coming back to this hotel. Employees are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, big enough and a good bathroom. Good chooses available at breakfast and good coffee! I recommend this hotel for your stay in Vincennes or Paris. Close to metro station so travel within Paris is very easy and fats.
We had seen the property during other visits to the area and decided to stay versus staying on our friend's couch. The rooms were a good size, the bed was comfortable, it was quiet at night and the service was excellent. Anthony at the front desk was extremely helpful. The location was extremely convenient to the train station to get to the airport or into Paris. Just across the street from the Parc Floral and Chateau De Vincennes. We would highly recommend this property.
My stay at the St Louis Best Western is always excellent. The service is above and beyond. My stay is always comfortable. We stay here everytime we come to Paris! We always check Best Western hotels first.
Was very impressed with this BW. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Aurelie checked us in and gave us great directions to the local area including the Metro and RER stations. The room was very clean and well kept. Air conditioning worked great. Slept great every night I was there. Breakfast was 13 euro; however we chose local pastry shops instead. There is a McDonald's about 5 minute walk and they also offer breakfast. We took a taxi from CDG and it was 60 euro. when returning to CDG we took Uber and it was only 38 euro. The Metro station allowed us to travel into Paris for 1.90 euro. Central Paris was about 25 minutes. The RER took us to Disneyland in 30 minutes for 6.75 euro each way. I will stay again at BW Saint Louis when I return to Paris.
Best Western Saint Louis is located in an excellent suburb of Paris. RER A and Metro station nearby. Highly recommend if you are planning to visit Paris. The city center is 30 minutes by Metro. Monoprix, a cinema, multitude of bakeries and restaurants. The staff are really warm, good breakfast. .
I have given this place 2 because it has a clean bathroom. Other than that i would not know what to see as positive. Rooms feel old fashioned and not hygienic. And 170 eur wo breakfast is not on the cheap side
I love this wonderful hotel, it is steps away from the subway and has everything you will ever need. I have been in Europe for a month now and this hotel is the forth I have stayed in. It is by far the very best. From the incredibly friendly staff at the desk, the very sweet cleaning staff who is on top of everything. They have WiFi, air conditioned rooms...and buy the way...the rooms are just adorable. When I walked it it was like staying in a posh apartment in France. But I have to say that the delicious morning breakfast was a big perk...But the true heart of this hotel lies with a truly wonderful and beautiful woman named TRerese. She runs the kitchen and really makes it feel like home. Thank you TRerese for making the morning start off right every day. TRerese always has a smile on her face and in her heart. She took the extra time to talk to me and my friend every morning and made us so feel welcome. I have an “ice” Addiction and she made sure every morning I had ice for my drink. Thank you everyone for showing me and my friend such kindness. I will definitely be coming back to this incredible hotel again.
The hotel is located right in the heart of Vincennes opposite Chateau de Vincennes, with metro nearby and an accessible taxi ride to Charles de Gaulle. Aside from the location, the rooms are very comfortable and small but not unusual for a Parisian hotel. It is decorated in a (I suppose) Renaissance style, with an armoire, standalone desk and night tables, plus crimson red wallpaper or paint, but again not unusual for France and Europe and it added a nice touch to the room. The bathrooms however were excellent by comparison to any European hotel. I was given a room in the courtyard and the bathrooms were a narrow spiral staircase down, but it meant the hotel was able to fit in a large bathroom (even by US standards) with large showers plus a towel heater. The courtyard location of my room helped insulate against any street noise and I found the room very quiet despite being next to a main thoroughfare. The staff was very friendly and helpful on checkin, although the night person was rather unhelpful when I got a little lost in the lobby trying to find the correct door into the courtyard. All in all I highly recommend the hotel for its convenience, character, and price.
Disappointing start to our stay due to 4 out of 7 rooms not being cleaned or ready for check in at 2pm. We were repeatedly told the rooms would be ready soon, and they handed over the rooms as they were ready - 4 rooms still not ready at 15:20 and after waiting 2 hours we gave in and went out for the evening with 1 room still to check in. After complaining we were given a complementary breakfast, which for me did not make up for wasting 2 hours of our New Year's Eve weekend away. I was told to email the manager after the trip to complain which I did and he wrote back to say he felt the breakfast was sufficient compensation, we will have to agree to dissagree on this point. The hotel is clean and is close to a metro / RER, one small point to bare in mind is that the hotel is outside of central travel zones and so the books of travel tickets (Metro; tram and RER) do not cover travel to the nearest stations. Breakfast was fine with good coffee and a reasonable choice for a smaller hotel. There is no bar so if you do have to wait for 2 hours for your room to be ready to check in you will be sitting in the lobby area. And there is no baggage storage area and so they will be stacked up next to reception. I would not stay in this hotel again due to the chaotic check in approach and the lack of a manger to discus the issue. Due to the poor response from the manager I will not be using the Best Western chain again.
Nice little hotel near the metro station. Staff friendly and breakfast fine. Very reasonably priced. The decor can be a bit odd but I had a big room at the front. Some of the rooms are small and one leads off the reception.
I would have like to give this hotel a better rating but there were too many things that I found disappointing for a 4* hotel: 1. there was a persistent bad smell in the bathroom (like sewer or something). It got a bit better after a day but never disappeared 2. at times, the water pressure dropped to zero when I was showering. I don't know why, maybe it happens when too many people draw water at the same time. It's unpleasant when you are all soaped up. Luckily it did not last too long. 3. the breakfast was really underwhelming. It's in a dark room in the basement and the choice is very limited. There is very little service too, which is not what one expects in a 4* hotel. The hotel is small and I understand that they can't offer a large buffet but at least please try to make it up with a great service. The one staff who's there literally stands still 95% of the time. She'll ask for your room number and, I guess, will clear the table. What about serving drinks and preparing made-to-order eggs for example? Now I have to admit the breakfast is not "expensive" at 13€. That said, the hotel has a very good location and is generally speaking very clean. The room was big enough and the bed comfortable. The decor was a tiny bit pompous but why not, in Vincennes. The one odd thing I did not quite understand was the Lord of the Ring memorabilia in the room. It felt a bit out-of-place. The other thing I liked was the very quick check-in. No annoying form to fill out, no credit card, just a name and a key in return. That was really appreciated.
Charming, quaint, clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient. There are lots of shops and restaurants around. Walking distance to Metro station. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Will come back!
I've stayed here several times now and it's never let me down. Rooms are small and the decor a matter of taste - mock-baronial style in homage to the Chateau de Vincennes opposite - but everything works. Breakfast is OK too - mainly continental but with scrambled egg and bacon for the international visitor.
Is ok hotel but rooms are very small breakfast not much at all for smokers get room number 3-4 and 5 you can Smok just out side the door clean rooms but very cold out side the hotel ther is a lot of restaurant and shops
Although a chain, Best Western Saint Louis has all the charm of a family-run business. Lovely and warm during a freezing spell,, my room was spotless, not huge but not cramped, while the bathroom was a generous size with a separate WC. The bed was so deliciously comfortable I wanted to take it home. The 6€ cold buffet breakfast offered a very impressive choice of fresh fruits, cheese and meats. Top marks to the whole staff for friendly efficiency and helpfulness. I will stay here again.
Stayed there on a short trip for a meeting in Montreuil (by Paris). Well, all went well until my neighbour decided to take a shower at 11.30pm... It was so noisy that I thought he was having it in my room. I had to sleep with earplugs and this is not what you expect from a "4 Stars" hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable, otherwise, but in house noise is a killer criteria for me.
It is the second time we have stayed at this hotel - and our high expectations were maintained. Very comfortable bed. Lots of space in our room. It was clean. There were ample choices for breakfast. Staff were polite and helpful at all points. It was close to the metro which made access good. It is also a lovely neighborhood with some excellent restaurants.
Friendly staff. Good location for subway and restaurants. New and clean rooms. The rooms are small and some are in bungalow style where bathroom at basement. Rooms are not very comfortable. More a 3 star than a 4 star hotel.
Sometime ago, a friend alerted us to the fact that Paris is surrounded by "village" living just outside the peripherique (the inner ring road that loosely follows the old city wall). The living is generally less frenetic and the value for money better in these areas that are on the last stop of the metro lines. Of course you need to check - but VIncennes is a very nice area with a plethora of cafes and shops and its own, very historic castle. The Best Western St Louis is close to all of this and is a great alternative to living in a very expensive downtown hotel where the shower does not allow you to bend over !
No particular objection since almost everything was ok, except for the bathroom with a sink rather fragile and lack of soap dish in the shower. besides, breakfast is quite delicious, impeccable reception services and an unfailingly polite general manager.
Located in the heart of Vincennes (Paris) this absolutely charming and quiet hotel gives you all amenities for your stay in Vincennes/Paris.I am a frequently travelling German staying there whenever I get the opportunity. The friendly staff takes care of you.The rooms are in excellent condition, quiet, clean and cosy, equipped with remarkably good beds, mattresses, air-conditioning, nice modern bathrooms, big tv's, free WIFI, free tea and coffee in your room.Well assorted breakfast. The hotel was lately refurbished and totally renovated. I chose this hotel many times. It is well connected with Paris by the fast underground line # 1 . Good value for money!
we stayed in a lovely suite, with a rain shower, will stay again very nice french all you can eat breakfast too. Not in a very good spot in my opinion but relatively close to the train and other public transports.
Friendly staff, right next to the metro, extremely clean rooms and a great breakfast! Several great restaurants within walking distance and only a short ride to downtown Paris. Will be back next time we visit Paris! Thanks for a great stay!
Really good value, clean and well maintained! This is a lovely little hotel with a really helpful and friendly team of staff. Good location for getting into paris very close to the Metro. Nice and close to the Chateau for a bit of culture whilst you are there.
Good Hotel with nice facilities. Friendly people helping you. Breakfast is good. Room is Good, nice Bathroom with walkin shower and seperate toilet. Location in Vincennes close to metro line 1 so you can get easy get everywhere.
The hotel is at the end of the Metro 1 line and is quite far out of the centre. Having said that, the metro is so efficient an regular that it doesn't matter. Many of the most popular tourist attractions are on that line including the Marais, The Louvre, Arc De Triomphe and the Grande Arche de la Défense are all there and the major hub, Chatelet is bang in the middle. Our only rexervation about our room which was on the ground floor was that it had a bathroom in the basement reached by a spiral staircse which was not the easiest. The staff was charming and the breakfast was very good.
best hotel, close to a metro station (line 1) and withhin walking distance from a rer station. i was there in april 2014. did'nt have the hotel breakfast but got a cup of coffee from metro station in paris. room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was sparkling.
Stayed for one night to visit a relative in Montreuil. Typical French service, i.e. wouldn't grab a fire extinguisher if you were on fire. Arrived at 9pm with a car full of stuff including a travel cot, sleepy 2 year old and pregnant wife. Called for directions, none supplied, turns out the road the hotel is on is actually closed and is now a building site. Nearest parking half a mile away and no offer of any assistance from a male member of staff over the phone. Luckily managed to abandon the car outside the hotel next to a digger as it was a Saturday night and no work til Monday. Two members of staff in reception so they could have assisted. Dingy, tiny rooms. Found a damp towel down the side of our bed. Breakfast room is dingier still. How could the stay have been worse? Ah yes, if we'd have stayed any other night than Friday or Saturday we'd have been woken up by the builders machinery at 7am. Manager told me this was going on for four months while she smoked a cigarette on the pavement. They should just close until it's finished.
nice and friendly staff. clean and spacy renewed 3 person room with airco and high quality bathroom. at 50m from the Chateau de Vincennes and close to one of the most green spots in Paris, with parc floral and bois de Vincennes. not so far from the center of Paris. Great when you arrive after a bussy day ang go for a jogging in the bois de Vincennes.
If you are looking for a great place to stay to visit Paris, this hotel is an excellent option. Located adjacent to the main street in Vincennes, the location of this hotel could not be more perfect. Vincennes is a great city with plenty of options for food, shopping, and sight seeing. The walk to the metro is short and the hotel staff were extremely helpful in explaining the Paris metro system. From this hotel, we explorred Paris for several days and always had a great location to return.
Between the Metro and RER in Vincennes France, both just a few blocks away, this jewel of a hotel is a romantic place for an interlude in the environs of Paris France. The rooms seem spacious without being large (and without an accompanying large charge).
