"Fine for a layover, wouldn't stay more than one night"
nursikins_2004, 24 Mars 2024

My daughter (16) and I recently stayed for a layover in Paris. We needed something inexpensive and close to the train. The email confirmation I received led us to a building across the street. Then I searched it online and was sent to the "wrong" lobby. The directions on the door for the other lobby was incorrect. While there were large "HOTEL" signs, the sign of the actual building was very small. After a bit of pacing back and forth down the street we were able to finally check in. Staff was very pleasant and lovely, the room was clean. There was a TV in the corner that was mounted at the very top of the wall and not plugged in. There also wasn't an outlet anywhere nearby to plug the TV in if we wanted to use it. For what we needed it for (a place to rest our heads it was fine. But due to room size (I understand that many European hotel rooms are small), and the lack of room amenities I don't think I would stay longer than a day or 2.

"Avoid, they cancelled booking with a made up reason"
Dan S, 26 Février 2024

Avoid. They cancelled my booking on Booking.com without consulting me. Making up a reason about an invalid credit card. I have used the same credit cards for multiple other bookings. I think they were just trying to get a better rate out of other customers. Reading the other reviews I am glad I am not staying there!

"Good hotel for family"
FFlori, 01 Février 2024

The hotel is easily accessible with public transport. Great breakfast with very good crepes and the staff is kind and professional, especially Salim at the reception. Paris city center can be easily reached in 20 minutes. Nearby there are many shops and a well-stocked supermarket.

"good hotel to be near Gare du Nord"
Bruce_from_NYC, 22 Novembre 2023

Rooms are small (typical for Paris, or any big city really), but clean and comfortable. For us, we needed to stay near the train station for our stopover in Paris. Plumbing was great, no leaks or funny smells. (After traveling in Africa, it felt absolutely luxurious to have a hot shower, good water pressure and electricity.) Room faced the interior courtyard, so no street noise. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

"Average or under average"
guyhebding, 06 Octobre 2023

I was there for the third time. The location is very interesting station Gare du nord is 5 minutes walking away. The rooms are clean the main lack is the breakfast which is very expensive for the experience… scrambled eggs were cold (several times) 30' after breakfast start, ham came later … next time I ll go to the bakery which is 2 mn away

"Horrible horrible horrible"
Sherpa66167418565, 20 Août 2023

I have never ever met a manager as rude Saleem. He is extremely aggressive and would not accept the fact AC in hotel are non-existent. I slept on the floor as temperature in Paris is 30c. I asked for a fan but nothing was given. Very argumentative and threatening manager! I wish I had read reviews before making reservations. Although the rooms are newly refurbished, they're very hot since none of AC worked, we asked our neighbours on floor 4 and 5. Opened the windows but the noise on the road is too much to bear. Not given refund for the entire booking! The toilets and bedding are very smelly. Thank you Sure Hotel for ruining our Paris holiday! Never again!

"1 night stay only"
387lucyj, 19 Août 2023

We had room 631 on the top floor. Lift goes only to 5th floor. My daughter helped with the bags as my back is very bad. We were offered other rooms but the air conditioning didn't work. Huge room which was clean and comfortable. The area was close to la Chappel metro and 6/7 min walk from gare du nord. But it wasn't a very pretty walk. No where to nice for a coffee or drink. All the bars were full of men. Not suitable for a family. Breakfast was ok

"Don't visit this hotel, The pictures do not reflect the reality"
shlomis73, 03 Juillet 2023

There were several problems in the large room which did not allow staying in the room and the hotel manager said he could not change the room because there was no other room available. The air conditioner in the room leaked water and could not be turned on, the shower was not closed and all the water came out towards the room, the sink was clogged and could not be used and the shower hose was broken. Since we did not get another room we had to leave the hotel after the first night and the receptionist said he can't refund me by cash as i paid and he can refund only by bank transfer. I gave him my bank details and he said he would let me know when the money will transfer to my bank account. The next day I called to check if he made a bank transfer and he said that it is not possible to make a bank transfer and he can only make a refund by credit card. I gave him my credit card details for refund and he sent me some document that shows the amount I paid but it doesn't show that that is a refund.

"Budget stay"
AllyKumar, 14 Juin 2023

My family and I stayed here for 1 night. Pros: - location is very near the Eurostar train station, abt 10 mins walk and also the metro. - price is reasonable for a hotel located in central Paris - rooms have aircond which is much needed for summer (but take note they are on a timer which turns on and off on their own) - there is a lift but it is very small but it is better than nothing esp when we had many luggages to lug up to the room - hotel allowed us to leave our luggages with them after checking out so we could walk around before heading to the train station Cons: - location around the hotel seems to be less conducive for families with young kids or single travellers - rooms and bathroom are very small (quite normal for Paris budget accommodations I suppose)

"Paris stay"
wendand2023, 04 Juin 2023

Had a great stay - really handy for the Eurostar. Good access to transport links and lots of sites are in walking distance. Hotel was really clean, bed comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Would stay again.

"Decent and acceptable"
David C, 24 Mai 2023

So for a two star hotel, this Sure was acceptable. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough. The staff, especially Salim, was great and did their best to be hospitable and helpful. Housekeeping did a good job in maintaining the room. Breakfast was decent. Over all it was a good stay, but a little expensive for what it was. (I believe things should be priced for what they are worth not on how much can be squeezed out of the consumer). It was an easy walk from Gare de Norde and shorter to the LA Chappelle metro station. Our room was overlooking a central atrium and was quiet even with the window open. We were also right by the elevator and had no issue with noise. One note on location is that we felt we were in a parallel universe as everything looked very much what you expect in Paris, but all immigrants from Africa, India and middle east. It was great to experience the diversity of cultures and it made for very good restaurants and super friendly businesses, but seems to also harbor a less safe element. It is very true to beware of pickpockets and other petty thieves everywhere in the city.

"Mice and no room compensation"
Elizabeth O, 30 Avril 2023

(My suitcase was padlocked outside of the hotel.) Mice chewed through my suitcase mesh to eat a cereal bar. Faeces on my clothes. No compensation at all on the room price. Offered a free breakfast but this was no good as we had to catch a train.

"Avoid at all costs"
Donnamcneil27, 14 Janvier 2023

Horrible from start to finish. Our room and bedding smelled, the radiators made a dripping noise, windows didnt shut properly so you could hear so much noise during the night, when we complained we were told we couldnt be moved as there were no rooms left. Area was very poor, felt really unsafe at night. Left a ghd curling wand in the room and been emailing asking about it with no reply from the hotel

"Too expensive for what it is"
Travel802675, 14 Décembre 2022

Too expensive for what it is. Room too small, bathroom the same. But "it's in Paris" so... That should not be an excuse to overprice anything, but anyway. Some maintenance it's also necessary. AC in the rooms working only for cold on summer? Ridiculous! With 0ºC on the street, the heating device on the wall is not enough!

"Not recommended"
hontie, 15 Mai 2021

This hotel is really good for people on benefits or if you are some sort of gang member. You can find this on gumtree, the manager (Kathy) advertising there. Just don't forget you bank card. If they could charge you to speak to them, they would. If you a good paying resident you can do what ever you want, even smoke in you room. The corridor smells of weed often. Just bring you bank card to the reception and they are never going to ask a question or tell you off. People listening to loud music 3 o'clock in the morning, so you will not get any rest. Don't think if you will complain about this then the Hotel manager (Kathy) will do anything, but she does give you empty promises instead. She is a well trained LIAR and train her stuff regularly for the same. The time I stayed there had some gang meetings, with loud music and breaking Covid-19 government rules (two house holds should NOT meet up in closed space). It's a Pandemic. The hotel have CCTV, to see everywhere what is going on. But if you bring your money, you can do what you want. Don't recommend to a nice working people to stay here, even for one night.

"Nice facility, nice breakfast"
venezia2605, 06 Mars 2020

Stayed for 1 night in this hotel. Friendly staff. However, a key card was issued to another guest and they tried to get into my room. Also was kept awake by very noisy guests talking and laughing in the early hours of the morning.

"Pleasant stay"
Dom_SC20, 19 Février 2020

We stayed for a night at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good but the highlight was the staff: they were very helpful and friendly which made our stay pleasant. The location is generally quite busy especially during the night.

"Did not feel safe"
paulinemJ364RO, 18 Février 2020

The hotel was average. The lift only had capacity for maximum 2 people at a time without luggage. One person with luggage. The room was comfortable. Bathroom tiny, as is standard in Europe. The area itself felt unsafe, particularly at night. Most of the staff were friendly. On the odd occasion not so much. Would not recommend

"Good"
Camilo R, 12 Février 2020

I have stayed 4 nights in this hotel and must say the price/quality is good. All people are very kind and helpfull and it is only 5 minutes from Gare du Nord.clean and not noisy. Breakfast is enough. Strongly recomended

"55th Wedding Anniversary Treat"
Mary S, 09 Février 2020

Location was ideal as Gare du Nord railway station was only a few minutes walk away. Also bus stop outside hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Accommodation although compact, was very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was very good with delightful mini pastries to choose from. My husband had the cooked breakfast as well however this proved disappointing. Definitely enjoyed our stay though.

"Good hotel, good services"
phila412, 03 Février 2020

We recently stayed at this hotel. It is on the RER B line direct from the CDG airport and took about 35 minutes.. We got off at the Gard du Nord station and walked underground to the closest Metro station on the M2 line (La Chappelle) The hotel was a further 3-4 minute walk. The area is very busy with people and there are a lot of small shops, little mini supermarkets, fruit/veg shops etc. However there were not many places to eat. The reception staff were excellent and let us check in early although we were on the 6th floor. They showed us to the lift which is probably the smallest lift in the world. It is barely big enough for 2 people, so adding a couple of small suitcases was about its limit. It didn't always work either, although fortunately it was always on the way down. The room and the rest of the hotel was very clean and the wi-fi was excellent. Apart from some kids on the first night, the hotel was very quiet. So recommended because of the price and ease of getting to it. Also, of course with t being on the Metro line and bus routes, it was easy to get in any direction. The centre of Paris was about 30 minutes on the Metro. Get the Ile de France ticket for transport. Just under 28 euro for a 4 day visit which gets you to and from the airport as well as unlimited access on the Metro and bus. They have their own ticket office in the airport, worth finding.

"Best staff out of all the hotels i've been"
seherxo, 02 Février 2020

My trip to Paris was made 10x better because of the way the staff at this hotel treated me and my sisters, they were extremely welcoming, kind, friendly and helpful and the hotel was always clean and maintained perfectly. Couldn't fault my stay here at all, highly recommend :)

"Superb Place to Stay in Paris. 5*"
Togneri83, 31 Janvier 2020

I recently stayed at this hotel in Paris and I have nothing but good things to say. Firstly, the staff were all amazing, helpful and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make the stay as prefect as possible. Everyone I met from reception staff to the breakfast staff were smiley, happy and accommodating. The rooms were prefect, very comfortable and the location is superb, 5 mins walk from Gare Du Nord and very close to La Chappele metro as well. I don't have a single bad thing to stay and will absolutely recommend it. I am coming back to Paris in May for my Birthday and have booked the exact same hotel to stay in. Merci beaucoup!

"Very friendly and helpful staff"
H2867NJlaurenced, 23 Janvier 2020

I stayed at the Sure Hotel by Best Western Paris Gare du Nord for 1 night in December 2019. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Gare du Nord. I had a train to catch the following morning and it only took me 5 minutes to walk to the station. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

"Complete Disaster"
naramac93, 03 Janvier 2020

We've only got one positive about this hotel and that is the staff were very friendly and helpful upon checkin, checkout and when we needed help. They let us store our luggage prior to checking in which was very helpful. Now... where to begin?! Upon entering the lift, it was evident that only two people could physically fit in there and in a side by side position. The lift doors jam and slam you on the way in and out. When we entered the room, it was pretty much matching the outside temperature of 2 degrees Celsius. The radiator was broken and the portable heater that had placed in the room did not sufficiently heat up the room. We sat in our coats for 2 hours before anything was done, despite asking twice to have someone check it. When the engineer arrived with a member of staff from the hotel, he told switched on the air on to 29 degrees Celsius and told us not to touch the setting because the wiring was synced with the room next door. The room was located in the attic on the 6th floor. The bathroom was oMay big enough or dwarves and had a sliding door which was partially broken, with an additional broken extractor meaning we had to air the whole room out after each shower. The soap dispenser was broken, the tap was wobbly and the shower drain was evidently blocked as water kept rising above the step when showering. There were planned construction works on the 5th floor but we were never informed that these would begin from 9am in the morning right up until 9pm for two consecutive days. On top of that, we were not informed that construction was extended to our floor and the roof. At one point, we opened the door to see where the noise was coming from and were greeted by a huge ladder blocking the doorway - which we're sure is a health and safety hazard, particularly as it was left unattended and we had to call for help for someone to move it so we could leave our room with our luggage on the last day. Adding to the abundance of construction noise were rowdy neighbours who we could hear crystal clearly through the paper thin walls. Avoid at all costs unless you're happy to deal with these red flags.

It was a convenient location to the gare du nord station and there are bus stops outside the hotel. Good breakfast The room was not too bad and was big enough for 4 people. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

tamishaf, 25 Décembre 2019

This hotel is nestled in what one could call a small piece of India. Also it's 5 minutes walk away from the Gare Du Nord which is said to be the world's largest train station outside of Japan. There's a macdonalds and a Burger King in front of the train station. If you need a taxi, no worries as there are plenty of them around. There is an abundance of Indian and local restaurants serving crepes and traditional French food. If you want to take a Bus tour it is right in the vicinity of the bus stop. Rooms are tiny and I was told that the French like everything small. They're clean, most of the staff seems friendly and speak some version of English lol. Be careful not to get someone who is tired or have kids at home to change your linens because they will curse in French and slam your door in your face. You will have to bring your luggage to your own room on a lift that is just big enough to accommodate a small child. Your neighbors are very noisy and the streets are very busy with emergency and public transportation. Overall it is what you pay for.

"Overall Good Experience"
hche78, 19 Décembre 2019

Reception staff was really helpful and polite. Clean room and bathroom, small but expected. However, the corridor has slight odd smell at times and smell of people smoking. Good location as less than 5 min walk away from Gare du Nord,

"Average"
laz1809, 19 Novembre 2019

When you first walk in, reception is very nice with friendly and helpful staff... however when we went to our double room, we were greeted with an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom and a bedroom so small you could barely stand either side of the bed, there was no room to put our suitcases anywhere. We stayed the first two nights there with hardly any sleep, as the wall between our room and the staircase was so thin that we woke up every time someone came up or down the staircase. Also, the safe was broken and twice we had to call reception to open it for us, who just implied that we had forgotten the code. On the third day when the room was still smelly, we asked reception to move us to a different room. The second room was clean, bigger and the bed was more comfortable. I would not recommend this hotel if you have high standards but you can't criticise it too much because it is pretty cheap for Paris, with a very good location, so you get what you pay for.

"If I could give them 0 stars I would !!!!"
Zpcd, 08 Novembre 2019

I would like to make a formal complaint against this hotel and be compensated for the theft of my MacBook that was caused by the rude and arrogant male receptionist who didn't follow security procedures I was met with unprofessionalism all the way through by the guy at reception who told me to move my stuff away from the receptionist area where you check in and place my baggage in an area that was not secured !!! Even though he knew he had a secure area he could have advised me to put my stuff he did not do so and angrily told me to move my stuff out of my sight whilst I was dealing with a check in The whole experience from the moment I stepped foot at the hotel was absolutely terrible. I arrived at around 6am as I emailed the hotel on booking.com prior to arrival if I can check in around 5-6am and the response was this ‘' 5 Nov 2019 Thank you for choosing our hotel for your stay. Our reception is open 24 hours a day, you could check in between 5am and 6am. For departure, we have a baggage rack to allow you to leave your luggage and leave the property on time. Looking forward to welcoming you.'' Therefore to my understanding it was possible to check in but I was aware it will not be guaranteed however they will try my best to accommodate me. However on that day I arrived I was there was no one at reception at first , the receptionist later on came in unbothered and unwelcoming I told him that I requested an early check in and he told me that it is not possible and I couldn't check in , I showed him my messages via booking.com of the response to my check in which he then told me he can not check me in. I told him I understand and what would be the earliest check in possible as it is now going to 7am and I have just got of a 9 hours ride to Paris and I will would be grateful if I can know how long I will be waiting for He was like we don't do early check in , my shift is finishing soon you will have to wait over there until 3pm there's nothing I can do , whilst waning his hand to tell me to move from his sight. I then got annoyed as I felt like he didn't even assist to help so I told him i understand you can't accommodate me now but surely you can understand 3pm is like 9 hours wait and I would not have booked this hotel if I Nrw there was not given the impression that there is a possibility I could check in early. He then said to me “ it's not my problem what do you want me to do give you a dirty room “ After a few back and fourth with him which throughout the whole process he was unhelpful I asked to call booking.com to change hotels as my battery was dying He was giving me the impression that I was not allowed to use the phone and as it was for staffs only at this point I told him I have never been to a hotel who doesn't help their guest and have a problem with guests using their phones to try sort out an issue Whilst being on the phone to booking.com and trying to watch over my stuff at the same time that was left around the corner to me, the receptionist hanged up twice when I was told on the phone I was going to be put on hold whilst they calll the hotel which led me to calling them three times and explaining the issue to them to different agents I finally was being transferred at around 8:20am and I went to go collect my stuff around the corner where the receptionist told me to go leave my stuff. This is when I realised my bag with my laptop was stolen and I immediately told the guy at reception and the new staff that joined for her shift He told me it wasn't their responsibility and I should have been looking after my stuff and which I replied I was watching my stuff but you told me to move my stuff away from the reception area and put it over there as you was working The other female staff at receptionist advised him why he didn't offer to put my stuff at the baggage area which is secured so therefore is our responsibility He still didn't care , wasn't bothered and was putting the blame on me not being responsible enough I asked to call the police and report it as I realised they were not going to do anything but got told to wait as the police will need to see the cctv I was extremely upset , tired and drained out from my travels and shocked to see I was being treated like this Cut a long story short it was only the Asian lady that joined her shift that was trying her best to help to offer me breakfast and get her manager to check cctv Her manager arrived and couldn't even check the cctv and told me that she needed her manager that was ill and had back pains I told her I was leaving Paris so what do I do until then she told me the laptop was gone and she was extremely sorry but it's gone she can't do much without her manager who is ill Finally after they realised they was in the wrong they offered to check me in and offer me a 50% discount of my first night At around 1pm I was offered a room. The lift to get to my room was tiny, absolutely ridiculous, you can't fit a small child in there at best. The WiFi was not working at all , my business partner who later on joined me was shocked and appalled by the service and facilities that he asked to leave and get a refund Which was advised we couldn't and had to pay for one night Up until now they didn't check their cctv , I had to go to the police station to file a report and was told the hotel will need to compensate me for the theft I am waiting to hère back from what they have to say and how they are looking to resolve this issue !!!

We have just checked out the Sure hotel best western in Gare du Nord, Paris. Please do not believe the comments about the staff, they were all really helpful, happy and always smiling. The hotel is clean and walking distance to Gare du Nord train station and close to the metro line. Great little base. Thankyou staff for a lovely stay.

"Don't waste your money!!!"
clulowcaroline, 27 Octobre 2019

Sunday breakfast from 7am til 10am, hot food finished by 8.30 and a request that more is made was treated with a blank stare??? A room booked for 3 adults has 2 coffee sachets and 2 mini milks in a 24 hour period. The weekend receptionist is sullen and unpleasant. Save your money.

"I would not stay again - pokey rooms, not good value, intimidating area"
Stuart P, 28 Septembre 2019

This hotel disappointed and I am surprised it carries the 'Best Wester' name. Access to the rooms is via an extremely small lift...two people would be squashed inside. It wasn't working when I arrived - my room 254 - was actually on floor five accessed by a ver narrow winding staircase - an extremely tiring climb with a cse or two. The rooms are 'pokey' and very basic. The bathroom was tiny - not even a shelf on which to place toiletries...there was so little room to sit on the toilet I had one leag up against the door jamb and the other against the (fixed) toilet brush. The Wi-Fi signal is poor and drops out frequently (every two minutes) the TV signal is also very poor. Coffe/tea making in the room - two paper cups, two tea bags and two sachets of cofee...but only two pots of milk....fine if you want black tea! The general area outside is extremely busy day and night with traffic and people - with people approaching you in the street trying to sell 'knock off' cigarettes. I found the area quite intimidating and I am a frequent traveller - not a family friendly area. Breakfast was a meagre affair served in the basement - again via a very steep narrow staircase. Certainly not friendly for elderly or disabled travellers and I don't hink it represents good value for money. I would not stay here again.

"central location near to train station and local transport"
sunilvirmani, 16 Septembre 2019

a hotel located just half a km from Gare du nord station and 100 metres from local bus and train service. reception at the check in was fast and hassle free. we were permitted well before the check in time. comfortable beds, clean bathroom and linen-- made the stay comfortable after a tiring day city visit. only negative point was a rather small old rickety lift, but the convenience of the location made the things easy. and yes, plenty of shops, eating joints... more so indian restaurants on the street is another plus point.

"An eventful night"
casricci, 25 Août 2019

Staff barely speaks English and completely ignorant of local information. The room's main switch you are supposed to activate with the key was defective so electricity went on and off. Bathroom sink did not evacuate.Shower with limited lukewarm water. Shares a patio with a department building so imagine the noise and the absence of privacy Neighborhood will make you feel anything but safe

"Good budget hotel"
timblagrove, 01 Août 2019

Double bed room with shower AND air con. Room cleaned daily. Fresh French breakfast 7am to 9.30am. Staff helpful and speak English. Location is 500m from Gare de Nord along Rue Faubourg adjacent to the station so access to metro, buses and trains is good. We had an enjoyable short stay with no difficulties. If on a budget then recommended.

"Awful hotel, awful location"
ChickenConnoisseur10, 29 Juillet 2019

Well..where to start. We stayed here for 3 nights and this hotel was one of the worst we have ever stayed in. The area was awful, if I were in my own I would feel very intimidated, thankfully there were 4 of us. Beggars everywhere, people trying to sell you stuff as soon as your exit the train station and just generally dirty and noisy (the reception even offers ear plugs for the guests)... On arrival we checked in, the receptionist was disengaged with us, took forever to get all the paperwork in order and then sent us on our way. The lift was tiny, absolutely ridiculous, you could fit a small child in there at best. When we got to the room we were surprised, we were told we were going to get a double bed and a soft bed with a pull out. But instead we got the double and 2 singles, we thought oh this will be nice. Although it did make the room a littler smaller there was still ample room for 4 people. The bathroom..well if you want no privacy at all, then this was it. A glass sliding door, with gaps, a little see through and no way to close it all the way, so everything could be heard. Why would you not just put a door on there?? As there was 4 of us we all had valuables we wanted to lock away, so we used the safe in the room, easy to use, but then we came across a disgusting surprise, someone had stuck a pad on the inside to hold the batteries in... what the hell is that about??? Tv was broken and the tap in the bathroom was stiff as anything, to the point where we got soaked the first time of using it because of how stiff it was. We did go down to the reception to inform them of both issues and they said it would be fixed but did it? No.. Anyway, I could go on, but just know, you've been warned if you do decide to go against this review and book yourself in. Good luck!

Very small rooms like toilet. Elevators cant even fit a person. had to carry heavy luggage 3 floors up. Like a terror tower. They took the payment twice. They dont even respond to emails even after showing the proofs. Avoid at all cost.

"Stay away"
sarahballas, 28 Juin 2019

Came here only for a one night visit and i tried to avoid being at the hotel for as much as possible due to how bad it is. The area surrounding it is awful and very unsafe, did not feel like we were in paris at all. The receptionist sent us up to to the wrong room where someone was already staying, there was no lift in the hotel and the stairs were very windy and bumpy to walk on. I would advise anyone to stay clear of this area of Paris as i almost got mugged twice walking back to the hotel from the metro. Not worth the hassel at all.

"Don't even think of booking it!"
sparshnagpal, 25 Juin 2019

The receptionist fall asleep while talking to him. It was 35°C outside and our AC wasn't working. Our locker wasn't working .Worst service. Room was ready an hour after our check-in time. Lift is tooo small, max 2 people could get in without luggage . One of the worst hotel experiences ever. Just that it was clean and station was nearby, only positive things. This place totally ruined the image of Paris for me. Would strongly recommend to look for an alternative.

"Smell of fresh Paint and dirty rooms!"
SHARIF C, 25 Juin 2019

We were checked-in by a person named Saleem. Then he asked us to follow him to the next door property. I was offered 2 strong paint smell and dusted room ( they were finishing up the next door building to hotel conversion for this hotel). Told him can't stay there since kids has asthma. Been told no other rooms available since women's world cup 2019 taking place and no refund since the reservation done by Booking.com with a funny smile by Saleem. I was willing to blow off 2 rooms for 4 night totaling almost $ 2,000.00 to find any other hotel in Paris but was unsuccessful due to women's world cup. Went back to the next door original hotel and saw another customer is complaining to front desk about the same issue to a person named Alan. I explained Alan about my kids asthma and he promised to change my room next day to the original hotel. Stayed out with 3 kids overnight ( unbelievable hardship for kids aged 11,10 and 3 year old). Was given 2 replacement rooms next day to the original hotel and finished my stay there. Only this person care for service ( Alan) and housekeeper's were good. Other than that NO ONE CARES. Never ever will stay there even this hotel offers me money to stay.

"Good value for a weekend in Paris!"
Annetterkndmd, 09 Juin 2019

Our room for 4 was surprisingly spacious - sitting area was great for our other friends to gather to plan our activities. Big bathroom. Loved the little balconies. Great locay by East and North trains(airport) and near a few metro lines, one just feet away. Great value.

"Horrific experience, rough place, great a looting customers!!"
Karvis79, 04 Juin 2019

During our visit to Paris in May-19, we had booked this hotel twice once during our first visit and the second time after 1 day of out 1st visit check-out so that we can leave our luggage while visiting other places nearby. We gave Sure Hotel by Best Western a try owing to it's proximity to Gare du Nord station. 1) Firstly it's not too close to the station, so if you intend to walk with heavy luggages, that would not be easy 2) The surrounding area is rough and doesn't look safe at any time of the day, so don't think of staying in this locality if you are visiting with your family 3) Now coming to the hotel. Salim from the front office was so unwelcoming and full of arrogance and distrust. At check in when I informed him that we would be staying for 2 nights and check-out and will comeback after a day to check-in to the same hotel, hence we would be leaving our 4 bags in the luggage section of the hotel as we didn't want to travel with it, he said he can allow only 2. What kind of solution was that? Why would one want to leave partial luggage. In other words he was discouraging us to leave luggage even if it was for only 1 day and even after we showning our loyalty by booking the same hotel on coming back to Paris. With exploring other options luggage storage we eventually spoke to another person at the hotel front office Idris who helped us with storing our luggage. Hence not sure what Salim's motive was. 4) Now just on the day when I was supposed to check-in the second time, the hotel cancelled my booking, stating some credit card issue, which was ridiculous, as if that was the case why didn't it happen the first time. Then I called up and spoke to them over the phone and they stated that they will re-instate the booking but cannot assure the same room. I realised this was a trick to get me to be at their mercy and settle for a lower config room as they knew I would have to comeback and stay there due to the luggage. 5) They were successful as they assigned a room with horrible layout in the top floor (no bathtub, unlike the room that I had booked) with slanted roofs and very cramped up. But charged the same amount. So it was a clear loot. 6) The lifts in the hotel are toooooo small, one 1 person and 1 luggage or 2 persons can fit in at a time Avoid this Hotel at any costs and if possible the location near this side of Gare Du Nord for stay as it is not advisable for family stay. Message to the Hotel management - While I understand you can do anything about the location, you have to work a lot on the hospitality and hygiene front. With arrogant and unwelcoming staff like Salim who don't value customer relation and experience, you don't seem to be doing this right.

"Just about ok"
Apoorva20, 30 Mai 2019

The experience of stay was really average. We had booked 4 rooms and arrived at hotel 1 hr before check in time. Only one room was available before the check in time. The last room was alloted almost 1 hr post the check in time, which was very lax. They just have one resource for room cleaning so in case your room is not ready on arrival, expect atleast 30 mins waiting. The central reception staff kept changing. Except for one person most of them were very Curt in replies. Rooms are pretty conjusted and if you have 3 bed room then there would hardly be any space for luggage. People have already elaborated much about the tiny lift in varioy reviews so no need to add here. We were traveling with kids and kids ought to make some noise. As rooms are very adjacent to each other hotel staff kept on bugging us to keep our children quiet which was a difficult task. One gentlemen at reception even went to the extent and informed that they might charge us additional if customers complained. Biggest advantage is that the hotel is located close to metro station La Chapelle and Central stations Gare du Nord n Gare du Isle. All of these stations at a walking distance. So if you are on budget trip with less luggage and intend to travel in Paris through trains n metros then this can be a good choice.

"Disappointed "
jackdGI, 21 Mai 2019

This was booked for us by our travel agent in Australia based on its close proximity to the Eurostar. That's about all it has going for it. It's in a rough area so we certainly don't feel safe walking to/from even during the day. The accommodation it's self has been disappointing. The rooms are tiny and fittings old, the window doesn't close properly and the lift is only big enough for 1 person and a suitcase or 2 people and no luggage (no exaggeration!)

"One night in Paris"
Douglas R, 29 Mars 2019

One night in Paris before catching the train home, I thought I was in India 100's of Indian shops, a 2 star hotel with 1 star for a excellent breakfast, freindly staff, a clean very small room ok for 1 night, very thin plastic cups to make tea or coffee in, we had a tripple ground foor room very quiet with heater and air con, the early breakfast was excellent and included in the room rate, a short to medium (had big suit cases) walk to Gare du Nord. Would stay again for one night.

"Clean but very small"
Sandra E, 25 Février 2019

The hotel was about 8 mins walk from Gare Du Nord which was convenient. The hotel is located in an area called 'little India', brimming with activity and lots of convenient shops. A little bit of a rough area. It's very close to La Chappelle Metro. The front entrance of the hotel was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were also clean and the staff were so friendly, helpful and relaxed. The only issues I had were that the lift was so tiny! Only two people max could fit, with very small luggage. It takes ages to arrive and I found it quite claustrophobic. Overall the rooms were small and the bathrooms tiny. Ideal for a short stay maybe two nights max. Advisable to take a taxi if coming home late at night and to keep your belongings close because of pickpocketers.

"Budget hotel in Paris City Centre close to transport links!"
dianakneale1312, 11 Février 2019

A great budget hotel very close to Gard De Nord and Gard Dr Lest. Lots of nearby shops and restaurants to include Moulin Rouge. Small rooms as expected in a budget City hotel but adequate for a couple of days. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and breakfast adequate.

"Location location location"
salmonkeith, 17 Janvier 2019

Onlyvhere for 2 nights, 5 minutes walk from Gare du Nord and 1 minute from nearest metro taking you to Pigalle and Sacre Cour in minutes. Hotel was clean and welcoming, front desk staff were really helpful. if you need to use the lift its one at a time in it. Toilet and shower may be small but you can live with it for a couple of nights. Perfectly good for a quick break and we got it for a great price. Would stay again.
