Hotel Apolonia Paris Mouffetard, Sure Hotel Collection by BW

The Hotel Apolonia is located in the Montmartre area of Paris, a hilly area with narrow streets that require steep steps to access the Metro or various other locations. For this reason persons with mobility issues should take this into considerations when choosing to stay in this location. With this in mind this is one of the most exciting areas of Paris with Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge nearby as well as restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets conveniently close. The Hotel offers several room choices with suites as well as simple accommodations available. My room was clean and quiet with lots of outlets, but no usb connections so be sure to bring your chargers, cords and AC adapters if you're coming from the US. The air conditioning was outstanding and the english speaking staff was very helpful in instructing its use. The TV had a lot of channels all in French with some dubbed American shows. Only broadcast news was available in other languages. The breakfast area was small but cosy with an excellent variety at a reasonable 15 euros. A machine for coffe and water is available at all times but at late hours you have to bring your own cup. The Metro is a very short walk around the corner from the hotel via the afore mentioned steep steps. With its friendly, helpful staff this is a great value in an authentic Parisian location.

As previously mentioned in other people's reviews we found the room cosy, fine if you dont have much luggage to store away,but no where to store larger luggage. There are no fridges within the room should you need one. The mattress were quite hard. Great air condition lovely to come back to a cool room after a day in Paris. Location really good easy to get into the city by either bus or metro, both a few minutes walk away. Lots of food choices on the doorstep and a supermarket a short walk away. Lovely quiet neighborhood.

My wife and I just returned from a week in Paris, where we stayed at this terrific hotel. There is a LOT to love about the Apolonia: The location is ideal. One block from the Place Monge metro stop, on the wonderful Rue Mouffetard with many great restaurant choices only steps away, and easy walking distance from Notre Dame, the Seine, the Pantheon, the Jardin des Plantes, and so much more. The hotel is immaculate. Our room and all of the common spaces were spotless. The breakfast is outstanding and very reasonably priced. The staff is terrific. We interacted with 5-6 staff members, and they were uniformly friendly and helpful. There was only one negative. Our (twin) room was tiny, even by Paris standards. The bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom was very compact and there was nowhere to set out suitcases. The next time we plan a trip to Paris, we will see whether a larger room is available. If it is, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. If not, we will consider other options.

Very eclectic hotel in a very eclectic neighborhood in the 5th. Many cafés, restaurants, and shopping in the area plus a self serve laundry mat. Staff was very nice. Nice place to stay. I did not try the breakfast.

A Hotel recommended to me and it didn't disappoint for a family visit for four nights. The Hotel is in a great central spot in a lively area in the Latin Quarter. A warm reception from the team, which remained throughout our stay. We had two rooms both of which were very small but spotlessly clean and very quiet. The breakfast team were very attentive, courteous, and the gentleman on our first two mornings offered very good travel advice which was appreciated. The Breakfast did the job and the team regularly topped up. Top marks for this hotel and I look forward to returning to Paris and staying here again.

I had the most perfect experience in Paris at this fabulous hotel! As a solo traveller, I was a little nervous but the warm welcome and excellent service at this lovely place put me at ease. Even when I had a problem with a plug adaptor (I'd brought the wrong type), I only had to ask at reception - nothing was too much trouble. It is perfectly placed in the fabulous Latin Quarter which has a lovely vibe. So many restaurants and bistros to choose from within walking distance. I was lucky to be there when the Christmas decorations were up and it was magical! I had booked a two day Hop On Hop Off bus trip and the stop was about 15 mins walk to Notre Dame so it felt really central. I didn't use the Metro but I believe the station was around the corner. It just felt easily accessible to where I wanted to go. The room itself was a single and it was perfectly clean and comfortable with a fantastic large walk in shower. Apparently rooms in Paris are notoriously small but it was absolutely ideal for me for four nights. I think I was probably at the back of the hotel but it was very quiet. I had taken ear plugs because I'm a light sleeper but I never used them. I really cannot recommend Hotel Apolonia Moufetard highly enough if you want the perfect base from which to explore Paris.

A cozy little hotel in a really nice and fascinating part of Paris. It has clearly been renovated recently and has all one might need for short visits to the City of Lights. My room was clean and had all the basic amenities, although it was relatively compact (but one does not come to Paris to spend time in a hotel room). The staff were very friendly and helpful when help was needed. There is convenient public transport station nearby — the Place Monge metro station. The street that it's on, rue Mouffetard, is a historic street with a vast array of diverse restaurants, bars, street food vendors, fresh food market shops and supermarkets. At the top end of the street is Place Contrescarpe, close to where Hemingway used to live, and near to where much of theTV series “Emily inParis” was filmed. The only warning I have is that the hotel elevator is rather tight, and I suspect that if you are even moderately on the “bulky” side, you might have trouble squeezing into it (or getting out of it if you did manage to get in). In that case, I suggest asking for a room on the first (French style!) floor. If I ever return to Paris, I would definitely seek to stay there again.

This is in the 5th arrondisement of Paris. The rooms are compact and not luxury but if thats what you want pay more. There is a really comfortable bed kettle tv and clean and powerful shower room. They offer free tea and coffee and have super friendly multi lingual receptionists. The location is 2 mins from the local square(2 mins) walk. Its 5 mins from the pantheon and Emily in paris locations. 15 mins to notre dame and really good restataunts. They were vety accommodating and friendly. Free wifi. Would return definitely and 5 min walk (max) to local metro, place monge. Very very good value for money.

Very friendly and helpful staff, unbeatable location, great vibe. We got a recommendation for a great restaurant around the corner and, in general, the staff seemed determined to make our stay as wonderful as possible.

We booked a junior suite for our daughter and her fiancé. They were there 4 nights. We arrived 2 days later for 2 nights. Had we arrived first we would absolutely never have accepted their room. The carpet looked like it had had been the scene of numerous drunken brawls complete with vomiting and spilled drinks everywhere along with the blood from a knife fight. It was utterly disgusting and the sign of a hotel that cares little for offering a positive stay. They were in room 55. Let's add insult to injury. Open the door to suite 55 and you will find a set of narrow and steep stairs leading to what I would call an attic with low and uneven ceiling heights. Her fiancé is tall and he had to walk stooped over to avoid routinely banging his head, Our room had been renovated recently so it was in better condition although tiny by even Paris standards. You could barely walk around the bed and there was nowhere to open a suitcase except on the bed and storing our two roller bags made walking to the bathroom interesting. Only a half door on the shower so floor was always wet.

Stained, dirty carpet. Carpet cannot be 100% pristine but the worn, heavily stained, dirty carpet gave me the creeps. There is no excuse apart from it having been soiled the same morning. This was soiled days, weeks or months ago and the management was simply too cheap to make it right. We asked for no compensation. That was not what we were after. The staff should have apologized in advance and given us a choice of another cleaner room but they pretended that the room was ok. It wasn't.

Perfect location in Latin Quarter on the Rue Mouffetard which has numerous Cafes, Brasseries, Boulangeries, Markets, Happy Hours in a lively atmosphere! Very near to walk to Notre Dame, Saint Chappell, Pantheon & the Seine. The Staff at Hotel Apolonia are very welcoming, helpful & charming. Our room had all the comforts that we needed & very quiet with fabulous breakfast served by Alex! The reception staff, Alexi, Edwardo & Christopher were delightful. Many niceties like Umbrellas, directions & assist with any needs! We recommend it highly for a fabulous stay in Paris in the Latin Quarter.

Fantastic stay at Hotel Mouffetard! The location is perfect – right in Paris' oldest street in the Latin Quarter, surrounded by restaurants, charming little squares, and a lovely local food market, plus just a short walk to the metro. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great recommendations. We felt very welcome and would happily stay here again.

We stayed on a Sunday night and really enjoyed our stay. The receptionist was lovely when we checked in and had very good English. The lift is unbelievably tiny. It fits 2 people without luggage. Our room was lovely and clean. It is small but most rooms in Paris are. It had the added feature of being able to look out the patio door while you are on the loo! Different. 😊 The location is perfect as it is on a street full of restaurants and bars. When we come back to Paris we will definitely be staying here. We left our bags on the last day so we could go and explore a bit more and when we collected them we met another receptionist who offered us a drink while we waited. There was no waiting time though as the bags were brought straight out. One last thing - it has possibly the best toilet in Paris on the ground floor. It was bigger than our bathroom. 😂

Stayed 5 nights here in July and we had the best experience. The hotel is in such a great location, metro is a couple of minute walk away and there are multiple great bars and restaurants within a few minute walk in either direction! The rooms while small (apparently this is a thing in Paris 🤷) are super functional and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all great but I did want to give a special shout out to Maylis, nothing was too much of an issue, she was so lovely and helpful and made the stay so much more pleasant, my partner and I would definitely stay here again without a doubt! Bonus, the Cafe connected to the hotel actually had quite good coffee, something quite difficult to find in Paris!

I loved staying at this hotel - the attention from the staff was beyond my expectations. It's location it's also great with a metro station in a short walk distance and multiple shops and restaurants in the same street. Would definetely stay here again!

Great little hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter - small but clean rooms, with A/C, and cute decor. Super quiet even though the hustle and bustle of rue Moufftard was right out the door. Amenities were thoughtful (coffee maker in room, hair dryer, refrigerator), and bed was comfortable with soft (but not too soft!) pillows. -1 level had open air space for coffee/quiet reading area. And breakfast was delicious and affordable, especially before a long day of travel. Tons of cafes, bars, and restaurants within walking distance, with grocery and pharmacy as well. Stay here!

Had a wonderful stay in Paris based in the safe and energetic Latin Quarter. A perfect base, with the bonus of help and direction from staff as we planned each day of our stay. Great breakfasts and comfortable stay. Merci beaucoups! We will see ye again!

Very nice hotel with perfect location, staff is very helpful. Just a short walk from Place Monge Metro. Rooms are small but fresh clean and modern, in our room (number 58 comfort queenbed) there was the following equipment: Safetybox, Small fridge, Aircondition, USB connectors, Nespresso coffe. Breakfast buffet is good, its not included but you can buy it day by day for 14€

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, good beds, nice bathroom, hygiene in order, excellent wi-fi, breakfast could be replenished a little faster and a safe and a small fridge in the room would be welcome, but overall good value for money

The hotel was literally 2 minutes from the Metro, restaurants and parks. If you like Emily in Paris, the hotel is a quick walk to Emily's apartment and Gabriel's restaurant :) If I'm ever blessed with the opportunity to visit Paris again, I would definitely book another stay here.

We choose this hotel because we had good memories of it from 25 years ago. It was even better then we expected it to be. Super friendly personnel, clean rooms and a very good breakfast. It was just perfect. It is a lively neighbourhood but in the hotel itself it is very quiet.

The hotel is a delightful location for discovering the Latin Quarter and greater Paris. Only two blocks from the Metro it has easy access. The neighborhood has a wide variety of cuisines. Being in a university district there are many budget friendly dining options. The hotel staff are great, and each room is well planned and furnished. The hotel and its staff exceeded my expectations.

What an excellent hotel! From our first greeting to our goodbye, we were always met with such friendly staff and faces. The hotel is in an excellent location, we felt safe at all times and had so many amazing bakeries, creperies and restaurants on our doorstep. The hotel is very accessible via multiple train and bus lines and you can also walk to places if you wish (I.e Eiffel Tower, The Louvre etc). The room is small, but it is Paris after all and you don't really spend any time in the room anyway. Regardless, it was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

I went there twice. The first time, I received a basic room that was OK, and the second time, I received a much nicer room. I assume the hotel is revamping its rooms. The location is fantastic, with cafes and restaurants all around. The staff is friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable compared to other nearby hotels. Will want to come back.

Almost don't want to tell people how amazing this spot is but it really is a perfect location. A couple blocks to the metro talked away on a street full of eateries, shops, and cafes. The staff was exceptional and while the rooms are small, as to be expected, they were updated and very clean. Cannot wait to return!

Our family of 5 and a friend enjoyed a most pleasant, friendly and hospitable stay with you, end of Feb/Mar'24 - greeted by Martin D with courtesy, efficiency and excellent English. Breakfast was varied,fresh, and excellent value. Free Coffee/Hot Chocolate available 24 hrs ! Lovely Courtyard rooms, so quiet and comfortable - very clean and well equipped . Exchanged lovely dialogue and trip guidance with Alexandre/Martin D/ and Julien. We have recommended it to friends and will continue to do so.

It is an honest hotel that gives what it promises. The locality in Latin Quarters is safe and vibrant. It has many attractions nearby and the metro is quite close. There are many restaurants in close vicinity that offer a variety of food including halal food. The rooms are compact and clean. It is a great place indeed!!!

Really love the location of the hotel, it's safe and convinient, close to everything!(All kinds of restaurant, easy laundromat, attractions, transportation, etc). And the staff there are really nice! All guys are hospitable and considerate.

The staff throughout the hotel - Reception, Breakfast, Cleaning - went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to get the most from our stay. They gave good advice on walking routes and public transport. Located on a pedestrian street, the hotel is quiet, but close to a wide range of bars and eating places. The metro is 3 minutes walk and the RER, 15. Breakfast was good. The only warning I would give is that the bedrooms, while spotlessly clean and well equipped, are not large.

Excellent walking area, with fountains and open-air patio dining areas all around. The hotel itself was less than 7mins walk to the nearest subway station, and the breakfast and front desk staff were excellent. The rooms and elevator are typical Paris-size. So set your expectations accordingly. That said, everything worked in the room. The Internet was fast. The beds were comfortable and the room (got a lucky upgrade) had skylight windows to lookout over Paris, and they had mechanical, external blackout blinds which was great for getting over jet lag etc. Overall, an enjoyable, convenient and affordable hotel in a great area. I'd definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay of 1 week here. A great location to base yourself. The mouffetard area is like a small village and this lovely hotel is right in the heart of it. Surrounded by restaurants and down the road from a lovely square. Special shout out to Maxim who was the friendliest host and made our stay fantastic. Would happily return in the future.

We booked this hotel based on the good reviews, and it actually exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by a genteman who was kind enough to give me the option of switching to English or just slowing down when he spoke French so that I could continue the process of check-in in French. Our room had a lovely view of the rooftops and the dome of the Pantheon. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The gentleman up front and the server (Alex) in the dining room were very helpful! One helped us with tips with the greetings in French and the other with suggestions of what to do in the area and where to go to eat, etc. Alex even drew us a map to highlight the points of interest. Also, the breakfast was great with a nice variety of fresh foods. Also the gentleman up front (I wish I could remember his name) helped us with calling a cab, helped us with our luggage and spoke to the cab driver so that he had the right destination address! It was a great experience with a very responsive, professional staff, and we would definitely go back again!

Excellent location in the heart of Latin quarter. Breakfast was very good, rooms were small, bathrooms are extremely small. Beds were very small and not comfortable. Poor noise insulation. Could hear everything in the hallways as well as in the streets, our room was facing the main street which gets very noise during the workdays, only good during the weekends when the street is pedestrians only.

All the hotel team and treatment far exceeded our expectations. We found ourselves in a welcoming place, where a positive and pleasant atmosphere prevails, thanks above all to the professionalism and kindness of the people who work there. Located in a very lively neighborhood (latin quarter), yet rooms are very calm. Great breakfast. Metro station just down the street, full of restaurants nearby. Definitely it's my favorite when visiting Paris.

I booked this room at the very last minute. It turned out to be a great choice. It was a spur of the moment first visit to Paris. All the staff I met were very friendly. Linda at the reception spent a great deal of time providing advice and direction for my two days of exploring Paris. I booked a single room - by U.S. standards it was small! But it was very clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There is a lift so at checkin/out you don't need to use the stairs with your luggage. . The narrow street in front of the hotel is full of a great variety of restaurants, bakeries, shops and bars. This hotel is very conveniently located a quick walk from the Place Monge Metro station and less than a 15 minute walk from the Luxembourg station on the RER B line - a direct route to/from CDG. Simply a great location away from the major tourist center yet all those tourist points of interest are easily accessed by Metro. I would definitely stay here again.

Charming hotel in a good central location. The staff was most friendly and helpful to tend to our every need. We opted for the room upgrade and found it to be big enough for our needs. Everything clean and tidy, airconditioning rather silent, and we found the bedding very comfortable. Next to that we had no noise from outside, so all in all we enjoyed a good rest during our stay. Breakfast in buffet arrangement, ample choice without being exaggerated and more than tasty. Will certainly book again next time in Paris.

The room is very small, there was a constant noise from the air conditioning that was not solved by maintenance. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a good place. So to summarize the room experience was bad but the rest was good

Located in an easy to get to and around by foot. The rooms are clean and fresh. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone. The staff were very helpful and ignored my poor attempts at speaking French without embarrassing me

This hotel is clean, modern and is in a good location in the Latin Quarter close to the metro. The breakfast has a wide variety of food and is well- presented. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, and markets and a laundry. The staff are helpful and friendly and you will enjoy a good stay.

First and foremost, all the people at this hotel are very polite and excellent at their work. I had booked a single room, expecting to have breakfast, Wi-Fi and nice location. The hotel satisfied that. In fact it, was better than I expected. Of course, the room was always clean and comfortable.

This was our first stop on a month long Europe tour from our home in Sarawak.  Booked using Best Western points so can't comment on the price, but by all acounts its good value. First thing is a mistake we made.  There are TWO Apolonia hotels in Paris, one in Montmarte & this one in Mouffetard.  Jet lag & not paying attention, we took an Uber to the wrong one!  Easily fixed but something to watch for. What a nice little find it is though!  Tucked away on a quaint little street, close to a couple of squares & just a short walk to The Pantheon.  First day we walked there, then down to the Seine & to Notre-Dame.  All easy. Place Monge Metro Station is just 5 minutes walk away. The best thing about this hotel is the location!  Mouffetard is a very cool suburb with lots of nice bars & restaurants in very close proximity.  Many happy hours spent sitting in the Square sipping a beer & watching the world go by. A special thank you to Amaia on the front desk, always cheerful & super helpful.  Especially getting us an early check in after such a long flight. The rooms are small but clean & comfortable with good a/c.  The room size was far outweighed by the great location!  We will happily stay here again

Second stay at this hotel. Great location, half way down Rue Mouffetard with an abundance of bars and restaurants around. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds. Very reasonably priced for the Latin Quarter. Would highly recommend

As expected, tiny room in a well-located area. Great attractions and attentive staff. Misled about local transportation but hey, I get half of the blame. Nice staff. Felt that they cared about my stay and comfort.

Hotel is located at Quartier Latin, best area for safe walks in the evening, since all bars restaurants were around, so we had no problem getting back to the hotel at night. Very close to Luxemburg gardens, Notre Dame and Saint Germain district, another top area for evening walks, dinner and drinks. Rooms are fully renovated, warm colors decorated and super clean; bathroom offers all necessary amentities. The only negative thing is the small size of rooms, but this is something common in Paris :-) Breakfast was quite good, staff was very warm and friendly! I would definately recommend it for a short holiday trip to Paris! Looking forward to visit Paris soon and certainly I would book it again!

We had the most wonderful stay. The room was perfect! It was clean & comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel team were very helpful & welcoming and everything was so quick & easy. We will definitely be returning!

Small hotel in the middle of Paris but with quality offered usually by larger hotels. Clean, warm, friendly and efficient staff, etc. I would come back without any doubt! The only issue was access to internet which was sporadic.

Location is great in a cobblestome pedestrial central street. Hotel is clean and rooms are small but very comfortable. You can find everything you need, coffee in the room, free internet, full breakfast and friendly staff. I will try and come back to this same hotel when I travel to Paris again!

On the plus side, the hotel is in a great location and close to a Metro station as well. The front desk staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful. However, the room we stayed in was exceptionally small (approx 120 sqft including the bath/toilet for a double room!!) The shower and toilet have been fitted into a 4.5 ft x 4.5 ft space so you have to be a contortionist to get in and out of the shower. Maybe all rooms are not like so but you would do well to confirm the size of the specific room allocated to you.

I was traveling by myself then I find this good priced hotel well located in a really nice street full of bars and restaurants, super recommended if you are traveling alone you will find more travelers around here.

Very well situated in nice neighbourhood with lots of trendy bars, restaurants etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Room 610 is however to be avoided. The room and bed are small for 2 adults but even if one accepts that the size of the bathroom is far worse and is a problem for 2 middle-aged adults!

It is just an “ok” hotel room. The rooms are too small, smaller than they appear in the photos, at first we felt as giants in a hobbit's cave. Our first room was at first floor, I think it was the smallest room I have ever seen in my life (and I travel a lot), if you wanted to use the bathroom you had to almost climb on the toilet and then you could close the door behind you and of course our window view was the hotel's garbage bin! After our complaining the man at the reception politely showed us other rooms, also too small and not at all with the view that they show in photos, we chose one on an upper floor (few centimeters bigger than the first one and at least my window view wasn't the garbage bin) as the hotel had already being paid before our arrival and it was Christmas Day and difficult to find another hotel. Moreover we stayed there for 4 nights and the sheets had never been changed. Also, there wasn't fridge. The bed was very small for two people (it wasn't more than 140cm) but it had very comfortable mattress. I think the hotel room it's too expensive for those that it has to offer

A tiny hotel, we were put in a new extension room on the 4th floor. Comfortable bed, good shower. Although you have to walk along an open air passageway to get to the main hotel for breakfast, just as well we had no wind & rain storm during our visit. Well equipped room, 2 USB charging points each side of the bed so we didn't need power adaptors. TV French channels only, and even then not all had signal. But for visitor purposes BFM TV gave us all we needed to know about the ongoing transport strike. They offer wifi but it is hopelessly slow – 2 Mbps. I told reception and they said that the tech support person visits only once every two months. Good continental breakfast. Avoid the so-called scrambled egg, it's a concoction with grey patches, presumably reconstituted dried egg powder. And the bacon is in strange pieces of circular bacon more like fried salami than rashers. Boil the fresh eggs supplied if you want eggs. The staff were welcoming, very polite and attentive and the free coffee/tea dispenser with madeleines was a nice refreshment in the evening after a long day's walking. Price a little expensive for a three star (€140/day incl breakfast) but a nice place. One of the questions below is "Was there complimentary instant coffee provided in your room? " Better than that, it was a capsule machine.

Very nice and cosy hotel. Very well located in a pedestrian area with many small shops and restaurants, 2 minutes walking from metro station. The room was very confortable and clean. The stuff are very friendly and professional - The hotel director and the receptionist gave many good advices about good restaurants and places to visit. One weak point - The Wifi was a little bit slow in the room.
