This is a lovely hotel in a good location. The staff were extremely helpful and always ready to help. The hotel breakfast has been voted the best in Sweden and I can fully understand why. The reception is also a nice mix of modern and traditional interiors. We were at the hotel for a week and really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ruth.

The most professional and courteous staff; very clean, and comfortable restored building. Our only criticism was the lack of a shelf or cabinet in the bathroom; toiletries had to go on the floor. That said, we would stay again in one of the larger rooms.

Had a great stay celebrating my boyfriend's 30th birthday, a little gift and handwritten note from the staff waited for us in the room. Very sweet! Cute and clean rooms and fantastic breakfast. Comfy bed. Service minded and kind staff. Would definitely come back!

Hotel Ruth was a memorable stay for our family. We had a lovely room on the fifth floor with a view over the rooftops of Stockholm. The breakfast was the best we have ever experienced—and we have had quite a few. The service was genuine and warm. A big thank you for making our stay the best possible. This hotel is close to public transport, within walking distance of many attractions if you like a decent walk, and offers great comfort! The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable, the staff is all so helpful, and the area was calm and quiet in the evening when you may be relaxing. The breakfast they offer is the best I have ever had! They cater to special dietary needs and the options are endless. The food was all delicious and fresh, and certainly made my stay!

Hotel Ruth was a perferct place to spend a mini getaway as a couple in Stockholm. The atmosphere is so relaxed and home-like that you don't even feel like being in a hotell. Star of the stay was definetly the breakfast. Everything was so good and well thought off. Amazing Swedish delights like leverpastei with good quality companions like bagels, cheese spread and toasts. All the food is displayed so beautifully that it's a delight to even look trough the selection. Thank you so much for the stay, hope we'll come again soon!

We have stayed in many hotels over the years but our recent stay at the Hotel Ruth was one of our all time best experiences. The hotel is family owned and run and we felt like honored guests- more accurately like a treasured part of their family. Everyone there- no matter their role- was wonderful- helpful, friendly and kind. We had been traveling in Europe for over 3 weeks by the time we got there, so the additional support was very much appreciated. The buffet breakfasts are amazing- so many choices! And our room, on the 5th floor, was spacious with a good shower. My only (minor) complaint was a lack of shelf space for our clothes, something that we noticed a lot in the European hotels we visited. The location was near several metro stops and many buses, so convenient to traveling around Stockholm. The decor was lovely- lots of art work, magazines and comfortable furniture in the lobby. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we return the Stockholm.

We really enjoyed Hotel Ruth, which was recommended by friends who'd stayed there last year. The staff were lovely - very welcoming and helpful, and spoke perfect English (I am ashamed that I don't know any Swedish). Breakfast is included in the room price and is legendary! a huge spread of all sorts of sweet and savoury options from eggs, vegetables, pancakes, chia pudding, fruit, granola, toast, pastries. I'm vegan and they made sure to show me all the options (including a little square of cheesecake on the dessert table!) and they had vegan cheese and a choice of plant milks. The hotel is situated a couple of stops north of the main shopping area with easy access to downtown, Gamla Stan and Sodermalm - the bus stop is a few minutes walk and there's an underground nearby too though we didn't use it, the #2 and #4 buses took us everywhere we wanted to go! We really enjoyed Stockholm and Hotel Ruth.

A really good hotel in a central yet quiet location. The staff are very nice and helpful, doing everything they can to make you feel comfortable. Cozy rooms with comfortable beds, and a fantastic, well-prepared breakfast—honestly one of the best I've had in a long time. I can highly recommend it!

Hotel Ruth Stockholm is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Sweden's capital city. The hotel is centrally located, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms are charming, spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts are sumptuous, with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes and freshly baked goodies. Hotel Ruth's staff is outstanding — professional, service-oriented, welcoming and friendly. The hotel's charming bar has a broad array of wines, beers and cocktails, and is the perfect place to meet up with friends (or make new ones) after a day touring the wonderful sights of Stockholm. Hotel Ruth Stockholm is highly recommended and is our go-to hotel whenever we visit Stockholm.

Sized room. Wonderful bathroom amenities. Amazing towels, very fluffy and larger than all other hotels I'd attended previously. Conditioner also gave distinct smell, sharp, good aroma. View was pleasant. The chocolate and card upon arriving in the room was also very nice touch. Acknowledged. The reception and current staffing here needs more work. Feel they wanted to help, just wasn't natural. The breakfast looked nice but wasn't able to partake in the stay, and the bag I ordered to go was never received. The place overall gives a luxurious feel but my sleep was unpleasant upon waking. Sorry for the complaining, I wanted an honest luxurious hotel, and it falls flat a little bit. I'm grateful regardless and gave it another chance and grabbed a tea, the reception smiled but I didn't feel warm or very welcomed there. Wishing you all a wonderful evening and continue to improve. Exelent atmosphere and service.

We booked 3 nights at this beautiful hotel, perfectly located in Stockholm. As soon as we arrived we felt totally at home, and I would say that the real pearl of this hotel is the staff ! Helpful, professional, kind, available for everything we needed, and they all speak perfect English. Breakfast is a real delight, probably one of the best I've had Worldwide ... yes Worldwide ! Great selection of fruit, cheese, cereals, juices, tea, coffee, bread and more and more and more ! The bar is open all day, a nice place to relax early evening with a glass of wine or coffee. The location is perfect, within walking distance of most of Stockholm's tourist attractions. If you want to stay in Stockholm, this is the place to stay, no questions asked. The room was very comfortable, lacking storage so we couldn't empty our suitcases. The ceiling was a little low on one side as we were under the roof on the 5th floor, but this didn't take anything away from the quality of our stay. We most definitely will be back to stay here again.

The best hotel breakfast that I've had. There is everything you can only dream of having. I travel a lot and am quite a foodie. Customer service excellent! Very clean and comfortable beds. Atmosphere very good. Decor chic boutique. 👌🏽 loved it. Highly recommend.

We had a delightful stay at Hotel Ruth. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our room was comfortable, with great facilities. The breakfast was delicious (one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had). The bar and lounge area is lovely to hang in - we ordered drinks and played lots of games. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station. There really are no faults to this hotel, we highly recommend!

I had an exquisite time at the Hotel Ruth this past week. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They were very organized, and kept my room spotless. Both my friend and I had beautiful bathrooms in our rooms. The restaurant and lounge were pretty and comfortable. The breakfast--free with the price of the room--was SPECTACULAR! There were a million choices. I will DEFINITELY stay at the Hotel Ruth the next time I travel to Stockholm. Great location, too! Quiet at night, but in the middle of a great neighborhood and close to all of central Stockholm.

This hotel is amazing. The service is great. Beds and pillows ar so comfortable - best hotel bed in a long time. And the breakfast is topnotch, best selection and quality I have experienced ever. As we checked in on aFriday we got complimentary Cava and snack plate <3

The breakfast made the whole stay. Certainly not the ridiculously tiny bathroom + washbasin with absolutely nowhere to put even a toothbrush. If they hadn't moved us to a different room this review would've been harsh…

It was our first visit to Stockholm, and when greeted by Petra when we arrived at the hotel, it immediately felt like home. The standard of hospitality, cleanliness, and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. The location was ideal for local food, gym, supermarket, and metro, so access to other parts of the city were straightforward. After a week we were sad to leave and will certainly return to Hotel Ruth, preferably during Summer months when the days are longer.

Basically running a breakfast buffet with hotel. Not for business purpose. Was looking forward to the breakfast. Big disappointment. Mainly external guests, mothers with babies and housewifes catching up. Really noisy. Buffet nice but overrated. Friendly staff. Seen it and done it.

Very compact room with a small elevated double bed. Bottled water x 2 daily, in room safe, hanging but no drawer storage, iron & board, no air con but requested & received a fan, good WiFi, charging points either side of bed Very compact bathroom with a walk-in shower, good shower pressure, shampoo & gel dispensers in the shower, soap dispensers at the basin, hairdryer. Public areas of the hotel were very good with lovely, helpful but professional receptionists, dining room staff & bar staff including David. Unfortunately, overall, we found the bedroom, bed & bathroom far too small to be comfortable in. First class buffet breakfast consisting of the usual suspects including cereal, hot items of sausage, bacon, meatball's, scrambled egg, breads, hams, cheeses, good coffee machine, good sweet selection. Exit hotel right & 2 metro stations are within 10 minutes' walk. Couple of supermarkets within 5 minutes' walk away. Prebooked Taxi Stockholm from airport to hotel Kr 795 (£60). Taxi to Viking Line port for ferry to Helsinki Kr 274 (£21.50).

This hotel is a gem! From beginning to end, everything at The Ruth was perfect. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel gave us a beautiful room with comfortable beds, and the location proved ideal for public transport around the city. Breakfast is exceptional, with so much choice! We look forward to returning - thank you so much for a special stay.

This place, on a side street about 20 minutes walk from the Central Station, has it all. The staff are friendly and uber-competent, the rooms are quirky and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet exceeds anything that I've encountered in 50+ years of travel in dozens of countries. Fabulous all around.

We stayed in a superior room, which had very a comfortable bed. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, especially the team members serving breakfast which was also excellent.

Turned 50 and we decided to leave the small kids at home with the grandparents for quick a stay in the City. Third time I stayed at Ruth. And yes - it's excellent! The location, the friendly staff, the rooms, the breakfast (!) and the nice little bar/lobby. All wrapped up in a perfect package. I couldn't have wished more for this little staycation to celebrate my 50th birthday. Thank you Ruth!

Beautiful room (superior king), the best breakfast and friendly staff. The room could be improved by addition of a kettle and small fridge (there was plenty of room for this) though reception staff were happy to provide tea/coffee on request. The bathroom was small but the shower was good. Very comfy beds. The breakfast was exceptional. Would stay again.

Hotel Ruth is a superb hotel in every way. The room was spacious and every detail was impeccable. Every single staff person was so friendly and helpful, from the front desk staff, the waiters, the bartender, and the housekeepers. The breakfast was totally beautiful, delicious, and healthful. The location was terrific for its access to several delicious neighborhood restaurants and we enjoyed walking in the neighborhood. Honestly, this hotel sets a new high mark for excellence!

Staff are extremely friendly & accomodating, breakfast spread is fresh & amazing selection! Each room is unique and I love the design of the hotel. Location is very central to all of Stockholm so it's easy to find & easy to walk or take public transportation anywhere

My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay at Hotel Ruth. The breakfast is out of this world! So much variety, and the quality was excellent. The smoked salmon was the freshest thing we have ever tasted. You must try it! And the table of pastries and cakes was wonderful. The staff are a delight. So friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we were told our room had been upgraded, so we had a suite. Which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious and clean. The only thing we'd say was that the curtains could be thicker, or have a black out option, as the light leakage meant we woke quite early. Also, an additional small chest of drawers or an additional table to put things on would have been helpful, as would better lighting near the wardrobe area. But that is a small matter. We were very happy with Hotel Ruth and would stay here again. Thank you for having us.

Wonderful and authentic people make this already charming house in a very convenient and cool area a fantastic place to stay in.

We stayed at the Ruth with our two adult children and had a glorious stay. The location was perfect, as we like being in a residential neighborhood with good access to transit. We used the Tunnelbana and the buses every day, and it was an easy walk to Central Stockholm and into östermalm. One of the rooms was the size of a dorm room, with a bathroom that spilled out into the room, but our son was OK with it. After one night, we moved from a room with a tiny bathroom into a similar room with a much larger - and windowed - bathroom. Every room is different, which is part of the hotel's charm. Breakfast is an abundance of glorious food that we looked forward to every morning. We'll definitely return!

This is a great hotel. The folks at the front desk were consistently professional, attentive, and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room. We were 3 people total (2 adults + 11 y.o. child), and we got room 511 - which is on the top floor in the back. It is an old rustic building that has been renovated, so the top floor has original wood beams and lower ceilings, but we absolutely loved it. The sitting area (with the sofa bed for our kid), was in a separate zone than our bedroom - nice to have the separation. The breakfast is amazing. The bartender that works at night was very nice, attentive, and accommodating. My only hesitation booking this hotel was location - 30 minute walk to Norrmalm, Östermalm, or Gamla Stan - but having lived in Brooklyn NY for many years, I actually loved the opportunity to stay in a more low-key residential area (and it's a cheap 10 minute taxi ride if you are sick of walking). It's a great neighborhood with its own restaurants etc. There's even a public swimming pool a black away! Definitely 5 stars for this hotel.

Nice hotel, very clean and inviting. The staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was amazing. The only downside was our room on the 5th floor—it's in the attic, and we bumped our heads a few times. I also didn't really understand the “upgrade” to the 5th floor, since those rooms felt less comfortable than the ones on lower floors. Lots of restaurants around, the downtown Stockholm is about 30 minutes walk, or $10 Uber ride.

Staying here was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The room was clean, airy, and tastefully furnished. The hotel serves one of the finest breakfast selections we've ever had, and everything was wonderfully fresh and tasty. The staff were always kind and helpful. We felt truly welcomed throughout our stay and would return without hesitation!

Wonderful, charming, comfortable hotel for a seven-night holiday stay. Sparkling clean and gracefully appointed room, everything thoughtfully prepared and comfortable. Very comfy large bed, plenty of pillows, fluffy large towels. Our room was large, with a seating area and dressing table. If mobility is an issue, be sure to ask for a room that does not have a large step up from the bedroom to the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was a daily joy, with a vast selection of delicious fresh food to suit every palate, good coffee, and good cheer from the wait staff. Try to arrive early to beat the rush (8:30 worked well for us). Staying in Vasastan was part of the pleasure of this visit - a nice residential area with plenty of super restaurants, shopping, and shady parks while being out of the fray of the touristy areas. Various buses and subway just a block away will get you to other parts of Stockholm in minutes. Only downside to our time here: loud cars racing down the deserted Stockholm streets in the middle of the night every night. This is disruptive when windows are open, as they were when we were there because the weather was warm and the hotel does not have a/c (not unusual in Swedish buildings). This would not deter me from staying here again. Loved the Hotel Ruth in every way.

We had an amazing time staying at Hotel Ruth in Stockholm. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the city but still peaceful and quiet. The hotel itself is super charming with a fun, quirky vibe that made it feel unique. The beds? Hands down the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Seriously, it was hard to leave them in the morning! But the breakfast made it worth it — absolutely exceptional. We've never had anything like it before, everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were all fantastic — so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Special thanks to Petra the manager who made sure we were well taken care of. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Stockholm!

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Ruth on a brief visit to Stockholm. We loved so much about the hotel - the lobby is eclectically furnished and the breakfast is truly delightful - a gorgeous array of pastries, breads, cheeses and also warm food. The staff is warm and helpful. Our bed and linens were divine. Our room was a little warm but was south facing and we were there during an exceptionally warm time when the days in Sweden are at their longest. I hope to visit Stockholm again for a longer visit and when I do I will stay here!

We really loved this beautiful hotel. Nicely designed rooms and lobby. Comfortable beds. Location was great - not in touristy neighborhood but close to bus stop and many restaurants and stores. The breakfast was the best we had in our 3-weeks in Europe…pastries, fruit, cereals, breads, hot dishes, cheeses, meats, and more. Room was small and there was no fridge or coffee maker in room but that really didn't bother us. Be sure to stop in lobby bar for a cocktail and try some crepes from the hotel's sister restaurant.

This hotel wasn't a great location. You can walk to many places. We arrived at 9 AM and check-in wasn't till three but they found a room for us and let us check in early and never charged us nothing and everybody is so incredibly friendly here. The room is amazing as well spotless clean very quite large in size and it has so much European charm. I would definitely stay here again, and I would highly recommend it.

This hotel is also one of the best in town. Situated on a street without much noise from traffic. It has a very warm and friendly feel to it and I have stayed here twice. First time around we choose a room with what was supposed to be a queen sized bed but it was very very small. Since we wanted a fair re-match we came back. The hotel is clean, friendly staff and comfortable but here's the best part: Breakfast in world class. If you won't stay at this hotel promise me you at least go there for breakfast if you're a local, or why not skip the breakfast at your hotel if you're a tourist and go here instead. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

This is a wonderful hotel located in Vasastan . The hotel is near main bus lines and train stations so getting around town is easy. The staff is excellent: friendly, efficient and attentive. Breakfast is superb; there are many options and seemingly something for everyone. As with many European City hotels, the rooms will vary . Ours was very comfortable with opening windows. The bathroom was a good step up, which might be an issue for those with limited mobility, so that is something you might want to mention if there is an issue. The room was clean and well maintained. There are many good restaurants nearby and the hotel has drinks and coffee available in the evening. There are grocers nearby if you feel the need to grab something. We stayed for a week and the hotel was a great hub for taking off to explore different parts of the city but with the comforts and conveniences required when we wanted to stay in. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was so cute, the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was scrumptious and beautiful. We loved this hotel and our stay there. Would recommend it to everyone! (We did wish for air-conditioning or a fan at bedtime because Stockholm was experiencing unseasonably warm weather for early September, but we managed.) Our stay here was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is the most cozy place to stay and the teams are very much welcoming. I have a fascinating experience during my stay. Great boutique hotel in quiet residential/student neighborhood. Very helpful and friendly front desk. Excellent breakfast with wide variety of choices. Quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. Not in the touristy part of Stockholm but that area is only a 30 minute flat walk or very easily accessible by buses #2 and 67 which are right by the hotel. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores very close by. Hotel has a gym agreement with a building across the street. All in all a great place to stay.

Dec 2023: Was a little skeptical going in, because often glowing reviews of independent properties tend to be manufactured. But this place delivered. Great staff, wonderful breakfast, good rooms, and really not one thing I can nitpick about. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Old Town Stockholm, but there's enough to see on the walk that it doesn't seem that far. And there are things to do in the neighborhood around this hotel; some restaurants with great Swedish meatballs, for example. We would definitely stay here again if my family is fortunate enough to return to Stockholm one day. Edit, August 2024: We were able to return for a second visit, and the second visit was as good as the first. The staff here does such a great job. Petra, Eleanor, and the male bartender were great, as was the breakfast staff and housekeeping. Nothing but positive vibes for these people. Hope we can get to Stockholm again.

This hotel is absolutely lovely. The rooms are nice, but the breakfast buffet is what sets Hotel Ruth apart from all others. They offer breads, cheeses, all types of eggs and sausages, fresh squeezed juices, coffee, sodas, fruits, pastries, yogurts,…. I had a different meal every morning! If you need anything, ask the staff. Even if it's as simple as a fan. The hotel sits on a pretty quiet street, which is lovely. And there are scooters parked right across the street for rent, but you can always order an Uber too. There is a grocery store less than a block away, plus a 7/11.

Everything about this hotel shouts quality. From the moment you approach reception to the final day of departure we experienced the highest of attention, one that I have rarely received in the very best five star hotels I have had the pleasure to reside in. The breakfast selection was truly amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the team. If there is one thing that we would have wished for, that would be a small refrigerator in our room. We shall return to Stockholm and we do intend to book Ruth.

The staff were excellent! Everyone was welcoming and efficient. The hotel is clean and well appointed. It is a little farther from tourist attractions than some other hotels, but I felt the level of service and character of the hotel made up for it. The breakfast that was included was excellent as well.

Stayed a couple of days for Stockholm tourism… by coincidence I ran into Ruth… Good location; bus & metro nearby; restaurants in the area; friendly; great breakfast !!!; nice interior; good bed, room and bathroom; reasonable rate better than others down town. Value for money.

Don't understand why reviewers say this hotel has a good location! Sure, the neighborhood is decent and quiet but there's nothing of interest nearby. You have to walk miles or take an Uber or public transit to see sites. Arrived at hotel at 1:30 pm and was told check in was at 3,”room not ready yet”. I said I was coming out of a long flight and would love a shower and a bed. Then a room magically appeared! Thank you very much! Fifth floor room - small due to a highly slanted ceiling. It was also a bit hot, even though the weather was cold and rainy. So avoid 5th floor rooms! Very simple, no amenities whatsoever other than a safe, not even a wardrobe to hang clothes. No facial tissue either. Large bathroom with a lot of unused space. Shower booth doesn't close well so water goes out to bath floor. Nice towels and toiletries but body lotion was not good. Comfy bed, quiet overall. The real star of the hotel is the breakfast. There's nothing really bad about the hotel but I give it 3.5 stars due to the location if you're in town to sightsee.

Amazing stay, great quiet location, walking distance to restaurants, only 20 minutes walk to the old town, quirky design yet full of great touches like the leather key holder. The breakfast buffet is without doubt the best buffet I have seen ! There is simply something for everyone, from champagne to healthy Swedish thins. Lovely teams, so helpful. Can't wait to go back !

Enjoying our three night stay at the Hotel Ruth. It is always wonderful when a visit exceeds your expectations. Have been traveling through Scandinavia and stayed at some lovely places but this is my first written review because I am so pleased with my experience at Hotel Ruth. The staff have been exceptionally kind and helpful with suggestions and guidance about how to navigate through beautiful Stockholm. However, it is the amazing breakfast that tips this establishment over the top. The coffee machine that grinds beans for each cup, delicious pastries, and an exceptionally large array of fresh and well prepared food make me start thinking about breakfast well in advance of the morning. I'd definitely return to Hotel Ruth on my next visit. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

Our first visit to Sweden to help a daughter relocate. We could not have been made more welcome at Hotel Ruth. The staff were exceptional and wonderful in every respect; friendly, helpful and informative. The number of waiting staff on duty at breakfast was impressive. They were constantly and discreetly clearing used crockery and replenishing the buffet. Our room was refreshed daily by fabulous house keepers. The reception staff were always on hand and ready to help with any enquiry. It is highly likely that my next visit to Stockholm will be alone and if I return to Hotel Ruth it will be a much easier prospect knowing that I would feel very much at home. The staff seemed to genuinely care and take pride in the hotel and their guests. As others have written, beds are comfy, rooms quiet, the lounge area warm and inviting. Breakfast; a banquet of deliciousness. Thank you to all the staff at Hotel Ruth.

Was a little skeptical going in, because often glowing reviews of independent properties tend to be manufactured. But this place delivered. Great staff, wonderful breakfast, good rooms, and really not one thing I can nitpick about. It's a 20-30 minute walk to Old Town Stockholm, but there's enough to see on the walk that it doesn't seem that far. And there are things to do in the neighborhood around this hotel; some restaurants with great Swedish meatballs, for example. We would definitely stay here again if my family is fortunate enough to return to Stockholm one day.

Hotel was amazing, the care, thought and quality of everything was outstanding! We truly enjoyed our stay, the environment was personal and warm , the staff made us feel at home every day! The entire staff was gracious, friendly and responsive to our needs, questions and concerns.

It was our first time visting Stockholm and we think we chose the best hotel. The hospitality was amazing and very friendly staffs with amazing breakfast. It is located in the center of Stockholm and easy access to visit places like Skansen Novel prize museum, public library and so on. The room was very nice and clean. Last but not least, the staffs are amazing! Heart warming and very nice/friendly all the way through!! I will definately repeat!

This hotel is just gorgeous! Lots of lovely artwork to view and stylish room decor. The staff are friendly & helpful- the food was delicious- I would recommend one of their lunch pancakes…. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone all very tasty! My single room was compact, but clean stylish & the bed was extremely comfortable.

Small hotel in a great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was adequate with a modern bathroom and new shower. Breakfast fantastic and dinner excellent as well. We would return there. East access to nearby T-bann (metro) stations and a variety of good restaurants in the neighbourhood

This hotel is simply THE BEST!! I have travelled a lot and stayed in many 5-star hotels. Hotel Ruth is better than most of them. It is cosy, friendly and well located. The breakfast is just marvellous!! We loved it. The staff is great and helpful. We will return for sure! Thank You for your hospitality.

The lobby was very chic. The bed, though high off of the floor, once I climbed in, was so, so comfortable. At the same time, we walked about 7 miles that day. The room was a bit monastic, but I didn't come to Stockholm to stay in a hotel room. The view of houses behind the Ruth was like a fairy tale, but the best part were the BREAKFASTS!! OUTSTANDING. The location was in a residential area, so it was quiet, though easy to get to the Stockholm subway (highly recommend). We had a crêpe for dinner one night ~ divine and they have a good selection of wine in their bar....oh and don't forget to have some of their Marcona almonds with you drinks.

We choose this hotel at random, I simply liked the name but we could not have found a better place to stay. The room was bright and clean with an extremely comfortable bed. The breakfasts were amazing and all of the staff were extremely friendly. Thank you for making our first visit to Stockholm so enjoyable.

Wonderful ambiance and colorful instagram-friendly decor throughout. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and one of the best we ever had! The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood in walking distance from the city center. Our room on first floor faced the street but we did not hear any noise from the street. Indoor parking spaces are available for 400 SEK per day which is a fair price in the city. Our only query is that wifi was slow and unstable. We told the staff who promised to look into it.

What a wonderful stay we had at the Hotel Ruth. The people there are adorable. The breakfast is astounding ! Different kinds of bread, cheese, charcuterie... juices... swedish specialties... The best I've had in a hotel ! The rooms are neatly decorated, the beds are very comfortable. There are boardgames available in the living room. We liked it so much we booked an extra night !

The Hotel Ruth was an absolute delight. Room was lovely, not huge but by European standards very comfortable and lovely windows. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The location great for our purpose and quite quiet for sleeping. Breakfast and related service was outstanding. Front desk service was outstanding at all times and we did ask a number of questions etc. Really loved the decor in all areas. The hotel does not have a gym but does have a relationship with one, 1 block away. That gym was very accommodating and the drop in price very reasonable. Would happily stay at Hotel Ruth again.

Throughly enjoyed our 6 day stay. Helpful and very pleasant staff. Location in a residential neighbourhood, so quiet, but one block away from cafes, restaurants, bars, transit. Breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommend!

I stayed at Hotel Ruth for one night in June 2023, traveling for business. I found the staff to be attentive and professional, which is important when unexpected things happen. For example, when my key card stopped working, staff reacted quickly and sympathetically and fixed the problem. My room was a double on the 5th floor. Being in the 'attic' of the hotel provided charm, if not high ceilings. The room size was OK by Stockholm standards, where rooms tend to be very small. I found it comfortable for one person, but it would have been tight for two people on a longer stay; in that case, a larger double would be reccomendable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and sleep quality was therefore excellent. There were good blackout curtains on the window, which is important in Sweden during the summer months. Being on the 5th floor meant the room was quiet. The view was nothing special because the rather small window was placed high up (remember this is an attic room) and therefore not a noticeable feature. Nevertheless, the room was not dark. There was airconditioning which was a definite benefit being on such a high floor during an unusually hot spell of summer weather. The hotel has a lot of character, mixing traditional design with modern comfort. The overall style gives a sense of Paris in the 1930s or something along those lines. The style, choice of colours and decor create a sense of comfort and coziness. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of fresh fruit, good coffee, pastries, cereal, meats and cheeses, yogurt, etc - in other words anything you might want. I did not notice whether or not a British style cooked breakfast was available, however, for those who prefer that option. The location of the hotel is ideal in so far as it is on a side street to two of the main boulevards in Stockholm, near public transport and also within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and attractions. Given all of the above, I would definitely return to Hotel Ruth and would recommend it highly.

We came on business and needed to be close to downtown and to public transportation. Both were very convenient. The breakfast is exceptional. Good healthy food prepared on site. We asked for info about some delicious breads, and discovered that we were speaking to the baker. The room was very small. (Room 314) The bed was comfortable, actually one of the best we have had. The bathroom was very tiny, but tastefully decorated and with quality fixtures, though a plastic toilet seat as others have mentioned. The shower took up 50% of the floor space of the bathroom, but had a nice jet and rainfall fixture. As others have said, there was a paucity of places to hang things, both in the bathroom and in the sleeping area. Staff were wonderful. Exactly the people I would want to hire if I ran a hotel in Sweden. We are bringing our adult children back here as soon as we can all get time off. A week at Hotel Ruth offers a great base from which to see all of Stockholm.

We had a one-night stay and we are stoked. Super friendly staff, nice room and superb breakfast with the little extra in form of parmesan cheese, granola and a lovely mango chia pudding. The hotel is reallly cozy, neat and clean. Comfy bed and soft linnen.

Stylish, clean hotel with cozy rooms. We traveled with a baby and had a lot of requests which the staff was very helpful with thorough. The service was very good and you felt welcomed right away. The breakfast is amazing and the quality of the food really ,really good.

The breakfast like many have said is amazing - genuinely world class, and a complete 5* breakfast! The hotel is very nicely done - the ambiance in the lounge and restaurant areas is really nice and generally a nice place to hang out. This is important as the rooms are a little bit on the small side. Beds were lovely and comfy though and en suites also really nice. TV's are good and enable casting your devices for Netflix etc. Overall a great place to stay - great value and would definitely recommend this place for anyone heading to Stockholm and just for breakfast!!

The breakfast was really high quality, everything from the scrambled eggs to the pastries - absolutely above what you would normally find at most hotels. Lovely with Parmigiano, and very good juices. The place is obviously appreciated also by people getting in to have just the breakfast or for a drink late afternoon, the cozy and a bit special lounge being possibly one reason. The location is a few minutes off the area where you probably want to walk but you can still reach Strandvägen in half an hour and the center in even shorter time by leisure walking, and the underground is minutes away, so do not let the map scare you. Quite a few nice places for the evening in the vicinity. The street is very quiet at night. The ventilation system in the room is perfectly silent as well, which is not a given. The personnel is invariably very kind. It is an hotel where you feel at home. The room at the fifth floor was not the most charmful notwithstanding the wooden beams, at least when compared to the rooms in the picture. I will pick another room next time.

I really can't say enough positive things about this hotel. I stayed for a week (part vacation, part business travel). The location is great, breakfast is AMAZING, hotel staff are very kind and the rooms were great - comfortable beds, quiet, the list goes on! You will not be disappointed to stay here.

An excellent and Cozy hotel in the heart of Stockholm. Close to the metro and the city central. Great staff who are genuine and caring. Classic Swedish breakfast with a high standard and varieties. If you are traveling to Stockholm this is the place to stay.

This is the best hotel I've visited in Stockholm so far. First of all, the breakfast was amazing and the staff were super friendly. We had a nice big room with the most comfortable beds. We'll definitely stay there again.

This is an excellent hotel. With hip and cozy decor it is backed up with comfortable beds, large room, terrific lobby which beckons you in to sit. The breakfast bar was amazing with quality choices in juices, breads, eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurts, ganolas and more. May be the best breakfast buffet that I have experienced. To top it off, the staff was friendly, helpful, and always eager to help. A mile from the main tourist area of town, but still had lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend.

We visited Sweden and Norway for 3 weeks and stayed in the Hotel Ruth twice as we were flying in and out of Stockholm, the first time for 3 nights (at the beginning of our holiday) and the second time for 1 night (at the end of the holiday). The breakfast was excellent, both in terms of quality and quantity, probably the best we had during the vacation. Equally, the staff were very friendly and helpful. For some reason, perhaps because we were travelling as a family (3 people), we were put on the 5th floor - the rooms on this floor have no air conditioning, and you are simply provided with an ugly looking office fan - so, naturally you think "let's open the windows" - the only problem with this is that, despite (or perhaps because of) being on the 5th floor, the noises outside echo up the building and you can hear every word of the things people are saying at street level and all the city noise (cars etc.) magnified during the night - in the end we had to close the windows and live with the heat. To me, an office fan doesn't cut it for a top hotel, and the noise from the street (then the heat with the window closed) meant I had the worst nights sleep of the holiday (we only came back at the end because I assumed the first room was a one-off). Then, to top off the street noise and heat, at 7am on the first morning someone started power washing the metal roof above our room (we were on the top floor) - I looked out to see what was happening as I literally couldn't believe the noise, and there was a guy with a power washer blasting the metal roof above our room at 7am! Unbelievable ............ The location is also pretty bad, you can stay in the best part of the front / harbour for these prices, so I wouldn't recommend the location (at least make sure you have Uber installed if you are staying here).

The hotel is wonderful. It's not fancy but so comfortable! The bed was great. Breakfast had a lot to offer beyond typical cakes etc. Front desk women were helpful and knowledge and went above a beyond to help us. Location - about 25 minutes walk to the old city. Buses very close to museums etc. lots of places to eat nearby. Just a tip. The sl system is a little challenging to navigate. You can't pay on the bus - you have to pre purchase. The app was not working. 7-11 sells the cars. Figure it out prior to setting out for the day!

The rooms where a little small, but very beautifully decorated. And the breakfast was truly amazing; all kinds of cheese, meat, boiled and squirrled eggs, a waffle iron, coffee, juices, ... And various deserts. Plus, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you guys! :-)

From the outside it seems very unassuming but inside you discover a lot of attention to design and color. The staff are extremely helpful and eager to please. The neighbourhood is very convenient and residential so you don't feel like a tourist. But there is a lot to explore and some excellent restaurants close by. Only a ten minute bus ride to Old Town and beyond. The rooms are very clean and nicely designed with optimal use of space. If you want large and roomy go for the King room. The Small Queen is small but cozy and very clean. You get a closet with lots of hangers but no drawers and just a couple of shelves. It's a minimalist design and even in the bathroom you have hooks but no shelves. But the absolute best part of this hotel is the breakfast!! It's basically a plentiful brunch with everything (from cakes and champagne to waffles, cheeses and cold cuts to fresh yogurt and marmalades and fruit to scrambled eggs and bacon) to keep you happy and full until dinner time.

From the first moment you walk into this unassuming, charming hotel you greeted with hospitality that signals a good stay. Everyone we encountered was remarkably kind and outgoing. Our standard king on the fifth floor was so comfortable. . .we slept solidly every night. The neighborhood, while not in the very "center" of the tourist attractions ( a plus? yep), is quiet with some good restaurants nearby and a metro station. Breakfast is phenomenal! Pickled herring? Ja! Buttery scrambled eggs, a wide selection of cheese and cold cuts. Salad for breakfast? Why not? Don't forget the homemade granola(s). Dessert buffet in the a.m. Wow! And fresh pressed juices with a shot of ginger if you'd like. Thank you, Hotel Ruth. We're coming back to see you in September!

I loved everything about my stay at Hotel Ruth - such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. From the wonderful check-in experience … to the bag storage facilities at my check out, I was made to feel so comfortable and ‘at home'. The breakfast was first class and my room was very pretty, clean and relaxing. Every single team member was a real credit to the hotel. In particular, the man who was working on reception when I first arrived was fantastic. I would highly recommend Hotel Ruth and I definitely hope to return soon.

The hotel was lovely and the man who welcomed us at reception was incredibly service minded and friendly. The room was nice, clean, light and airy. The plug wasn't working in the sink, but we managed to fix it by other selves. The shower water kept on covering the bathroom floor, so we had to use the floor towel to mop it all up so we could continue to use the bathroom the rest of the evening. A little annoying. Unfortunately the bed was far too soft for us and we both woke up feeling tried and achy. It's an old building so we expected to hear other guests etc so that wasn't an issue. Overall a nice stay with a generous choice for breakfast in the morning. We would recommend, but wouldn't return personally simply because of the bed.

What a lovely hotel in Stockholm for business or pleasure! The newly renovated rooms are tastefully done with exposed hardwood floors and gorgeous tile work in the bathrooms. The lobby / dining area has a very cool, edgy vibe. The breakfast is excellent with creative dishes and a wide variety. As a frequent business traveler Ruth is now at the top of my list along with Hotel Franz! Kudos to the Pettersson family!

What a great hotel!! Stayed here for an extended weekend and was truly impressed with the quality of the hotel. Lovely spacious and light rooms, kind and helpful service and oh wow what a good breakfast, lots of choice between healthy and indulgent dishes! Location is also great, located close to so many good restaurants and walking distance to the city centre! We will return for sure.

This hotel is by far the best hotel in Stockholm. The service it absolutely amazing and the rooms and surroundings are stunning. Very clean and fresh everywhere and the breakfast is great. It feels like a home away from home!

Stayed overnight and it was a fantastic stay. Friendly staff that made you feel special and welcome. Central location. Very cosy and clean hotel, with a great breakfast buffet that included fresh whipped cream cakes (Gräddtårtor in Swedish). Would heartfelt recommend anyone staying at this hotel in the future.

The hotel is still in walking distance from central station and has a nice bar/restaurant. I do like the old-style rooms. The first one was really small, but thanks to Alice from reception, I got a larger one for the second night. The breakfast is really good with many choices.

I recently spent 5 nights at the Hotel Ruth with my son and daughter. It was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences in memory. The staff were all exceptionally kind (particularly Nicolas and his colleague from Gotland who serves as front of house) and took a genuine interest in our stay and our itinerary in Stockholm and the surrounding area. The breakfast also deserves special mention: it is truly unique in its size and quality. The hotel is located in an area that is central to transport links but on a quiet street. As for the rooms, they are certainly large by European standards and in excellent condition. Simply put, we have found our new base for travel in Sweden!

I rarely write reviews but this really was the perfect experience. Room was spacious and tidy, staff super friendly, and the general feeling of the hotel was world class. Very quiet despite being in the middle of the city, much thanks to the location in a quiet neighborhood. Don't know if all rooms are on the courtyard-side of the building, but mine was and this meant literally zero noise from outside. Never slept better! The breakfast had everything and they even gave me a late checkout for free just because I wanted to go for a run before leaving. Amazing service! All-in-all, this is the kind of boutique hotel you'd expect to find in NYC, Paris, or Milan, but so rare in Stockholm. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Unforgettable stay in Ruth over the weekend. Breakfast, the rooms, and atmosphere are amazing thanks to the great staff. The restaurant was delicious and the place to be in town for food and great cocktails. Will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Ruth with a breakfast only comparable with the one at Frantz. In other words: fantastic! Comfy beds in beautifully decorated rooms, we didn't really miss anything during our one night stay. I do really appreciate the lounge which is colorful with many conversation pieces, probably perfect for hanging out with friends in the evenings.

Without a doubt Stockholm's best breakfast! Then I have tested many hotels in Stockholm. There is honestly no better. Furthermore, the hotel has such nice staff, nice and personal decor, nice rooms and great location. This is really a cozy hotel with a personal and fresh touch for a reasonable price. Will never stay anywhere else.

Hotel Ruth is a lovely boutique hotel just off Odenplan. It's an older building, so don't expect all areas to be 100% accessible, but do expect plenty of character and charm from the moment you enter. All rooms are slightly different in terms of size and bathroom size, but all are fairly Scandinavian cool - think wood floors, cool light features, etc. The lobby isn't big and kind of merges into the bar - I liked that and I thought that it makes for a very cosy & social space altogether. The bartenders know what they're doing and the choice's extensive - so have a beverage or five. Altogether, this is a lovely, family-run boutique hotel with good rooms and great F&B.

What a lovely hotel, staff is extremely service minded and the local family owning this place is really cherishing this gem and their guests. Breakfast is one of the best in Stockholm and quality before quantity. Rooms are spacious and the old architecture is beautiful. Awesome pink rooms too :)

When I entered Ruth Hotel it instantly took me to London. The interior is detailed, playful and colourful. The chosen art and colours in the lounge area, lobby and resturant made me happy and calm. The rooms are also well - planned and beutifully decorated. Except from the interior design Ruth truly delivers great service and high standard as a hotel in general. The breakfast is worth going there for even if you don´t stay at Ruth!!

We were very happy staying at Hotel Ruth for two weeks. We felt very much at home there. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby and dining/bar area are very attractive and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and excellent quality. Our room was very clean and pleasant. Our only quibble is that it would have been helpful to have a dresser for our clothes, or at least luggage racks, for our long stay. The bathroom was modern with two sinks and plenty of space for all our stuff. Our room had a very deep tub (deeper than an American claw foot tub) with a shower head but no shower curtain. Those with mobility problems or short legs would probably want a room with a shower instead, such as those in the photos. The location seems safe for walking at night, there are lots of restaurants and shops within an easy walking distance of the hotel, and the location is convenient to public transportation. We'd gladly stay there again.

I think for being a newly opened hotel, it has potential, the lobby is stylish and the breakfast is nice, however there were a lot of basic or standard requirements that just weren't met. First off, we chose the deal “ cava upon check-in” and we did not receive it when checking in. The next day I specifically asked the reception for it since we didn't get it at checkin and they said they would fix that for us, however they never did.The Internet was very weak in the room, so much so that basic websites often didn't load. The towel rack warmer in the bathroom didn't work. There were absolutely no basic amenities you even find in chain hotels, such as a shower cap. And lastly, there's 1 slow elevator that took ages to come which often lead to using the stairs to go both up and down many times.

When visiting Stockholm staying hotel Ruth is a must try. The hotel was extremely clean, and most importantly the service was just outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel for those who want to feel somewhere at home when staying in Stockholm.

Great hotel with beautiful design in lobby area. Execellent breakfast, best I had in Sweden. Really polite and helpful staff. Clean room but I lacked AC and drawer for cloths. Otherwise quite a nice hotel.
